Overall, I think HomeAdvisor is an excellent resource. I found a great chimney sweep, house cleaner, and tree service on it. All were very professional with very good rates. I hired the chimney sweep and house cleaner and was very pleased. I received a very good estimate from the tree service and will likely hire them.

We were put into contact with local companies pretty fast and were given a range of costs for the project in our area which helped up manage our budget. We happened to start our project during a time when most of the electricians that we found through Google search were booked out for quite a while and the companies found by HomeAdvisor were able to get us in quickly. Simplified the process.

HomeAdvisor is my best source for good contractors. My only disappointment is in the feedback form--I could not select the "I don't know" button for cost and time, and it wouldn't let me move on, so I had to make something up, which is not good!

Even though there was additional work for them to do after the driveway company hit the wall and caused additional work, they made all the appropriate repairs needed.

Your recommendation for an interior painter (Gary **) was very accurate. However, carpet installers (Sears) waited too long to respond. Like Brothers asked if I'd ordered carpet, and when I said no, they said "Let us know when you do." Not helpful to someone new to the area. So I ordered carpet from Lowe's, who also provides installation services.

Needed carpet stretching. HomeAdvisor got me hooked up with Arias and they came over to my home quickly. Did a great job getting the bad wrinkles out of my carpet. Also adjusted the sliding doors. We will have them back to take care of a couple of other things. HomeAdvisor saved the day.

Avrett workers were very prompt coming. They were diligent until completion of the project despite the cold weather. They gave me good tips on protecting pipes in cold weather and insulated the pipes they worked on after completion. They recommended the lad pipes be replaced sometime in the future.

Listed and rated pros in the area. Very helpful. Follow up telephone call to see if I was pleased with HomeAdvisor was too much... this could be done by email. Also, repetitive requests for rating of pro via email was annoying. Just do this once after the initial visit and once after the job is done. That being said, HomeAdvisor put me on a pro in my area that did a great job and gave me confidence because of the ratings.

Every time we received a lead, they also sent the same information to other HomeAdvisor company. The leads seems to be shady, we tried to contact the potential customer, but we never had any reply for this leads. Plus we had to pay regardless of the outcome, we ended up paying extra money, without even getting any business. This is a horrible system, they charged me extra for just sending us the wrong leads many times. What a ripped off!!! Please do not sign up, HomeAdvisor will take your money and keep charging you regardless.

I've used HA a few times and appreciate being able to see reviews from others like myself. Replacing a roof happens everyday but may be only once in a lifetime for me. I've used both Angie's List and HomeAdvisor (HA), and I definitely prefer HA. There are a few system glitches, as I recently noted that the automated response contained both the old and new telephone numbers, which can be confusing; but, the customer representatives are very responsive and helpful, and the overall experience is satisfactory. At HA the contractors are licensed and the workmanship is generally high quality. If you run into a problem, such an unresponsive contractor, HA's representatives will identify another contractor, and connect you directly to the contractor. Customer service is provided for free, as well as project estimates by trade and region, and project guides and tips.

Replaced water heater, New strap and pan. Showed us how to drain it yearly. Took away old water heater. Did job immediately. Definitely would recommend them to friends and family. The price was definitely fair. I really really liked them very much.

Attic Insulation and Foam Injection at vulnerable sites - Installer was very nice, conversant and informative. He was prompt on date of estimate as well as on date of install. He did what he said he would do. He informed me as stages progressed, and encouraged me to observe improvements. His explanation of the products used, why he chose to do some procedures, and what I could expect were complete and comprehensive. He guaranteed his work and encouraged me to call if any disturbance to the attic insulation might require adjustment. He said he would return and adjust as needed, no charge. His price was exceedingly fair compared to another estimate. No regrets. Many referrals given to neighbors!

Dave came out the next day on time and quickly diagnosed the problem. He called two companies to confirm that the part needed was no longer available. He also educated and gave me recommendations on which dryer along with other appliances that he felt were the best and easiest (meaning parts availability) to fix if a problem arose. He was honest about they don't make them like they use to! Which I already knew. Highly recommend him. Just disappointed there wasn't a fix and had to pay 75.00 for a 15 min. service call. Not his problem! Now I have to buy a new dryer that only last 5-10 yrs instead of 18 years due to the quality of newer and better appliances.

There was a leak in a bathroom and the ceiling had to be partially removed. He repaired that and had to match a swirl texture that he did exceptionally well... He had to come back a few times to let the product set up.

I was out of town visiting my parents. My dad's garage door was broken by accident. My dad needed his garage door repaired as it would not go down and it was off the track. The repair man came promptly and fixed the door to my dad's satisfaction. We were very pleased with the service.

Installed air and heat. Did a good job. Al the owner was on time and stayed 'til I was happy with his job. He even added things that made the job even more worth it. He told me he would be there at 9:30. He was on time. Not like a dr office.

I had rats that had been let in by electrical workers and the rats also ate through a pipe and were in my kitchen and crawl space and walls. The company I got through HomeAdvisor came out right away and got rid of them (plus a few extra squirrels).

Bad experience with this company, it's one big scam. Be careful! They will email you - not verified leads. Bad refund policy - charging you for no reason. Bad representation of your company. Will waste your time with non-working phone numbers. Will waste your time with bad quality of leads, homeowners that collecting 10 bids or more for their project and treat contractors like with no respect.

Roofing - Brian was a pleasure to deal with and would recommend him to family or friends. Assisted and explains the Insurance process and is true to his word at a very reasonable cost and a very hardworking person. Was here on the day promised and completed the job within 2 days.

Most of the work he did was good, but he misled me on choice of roof tiles, and he attempted to change his final bill to several hundred dollars more than the beginning agreement which we both had signed.

Then they gave me 3 names to call 2 of which were over 100 miles away. The third was Infinity but HomeAdvisor said they were not available. I called directly. They came the next day. Did good work but gave me a low ball estimate then doubled my cost on final bill. NOT what I expected from a properly vetted pro with integrity.

I was able to hire a contractor to quickly fix my siding. I was not able to use my initial choice because when I was looking it was evening and he was closed. You sent it out to another contractor who was quickly out to finish the job, but it was slightly confusing to get quotes sent to the contractors I wanted to try.

Experiencing power loss from one particular 20, Amp breaker/circuit to kitchen, stove, microwave, refrigerator and outlets. Issue was quite random and swapping breakers didn't resolve issue. Electrician found problem by pulling all receptacles and examining connections which revealed a nearly broken wire just barely making contact. This problem would sometimes be weeks before it would fail. Ckt. breaker never tripped.

Contractor mounted five external lights on our house, and rewired an outlet. The response from Home Advisor was immediate, the contractor got in touch right away. Total time from contact to finish was five days. The crew was professional and efficient, and the Home Advisor recommendations was excellent.

Perhaps HomeAdvisors' pool of San Diego painters felt the job was too small, although it's hard to believe that the $2,000 proposal chosen from three bids from other sources was not worth their time. I spoke with Jake at FlushPro and explained my problem. My septic tank was pumped, the field lines jetted, and a cleanout was installed. Jake and FlushPro did an excellent job, and the price was good. Jake also gave us advice regarding the drainage in our backyard. I would highly recommend this company.

I received leads at 11 at night. Called them back and no answer, then call again the next day again. No answer. Even after several attempts there was no answer. I would request credit and was denied. They would send me leads for jobs I was not qualified for or do. I'm a home inspector not a plumber roofer or electrician. They charged me for the people asking for just pricing. They charged me when the people cancelled, they charged me when the people wouldn't answer. They claim they were advertising for me but when doing a search for my business there was nothing. Total waste of time and money. This was a complete aggravation as a business owner.

Excellent service all the way around. I was having a problem with an odor coming from one of my bathrooms. The shower in this bath doesn't get used very often. It was explained to me that water must be ran at least once a week to keep the seals moist or it will cause the problem I was having.
