Almost always a good experience with the pros referred to me, and the selection of candidates usually means at least one comes in with a reasonable estimate. Having a review history for each pro is obviously convenient. Life would be harder without this site.

I needed 2 home projects completed and so far the Pros that were recommended have been great. One project done and completed and second is in beginning stages waiting for quote. No glitches, no hitches and simple to use. I would gladly recommend HomeAdvisor to others.

Jay from Precise Plumbing, called me within a half hour of my first contact. When he called, we talked about what was happening and what we needed to have done. Within 30 to 45 minutes later, his crew arrive and was getting their equipment out before I opened the side gate. They were very friendly and knew exactly what needed to be done. They were also efficient, did an excellent job fixing the problem, and left within a half hour, the problem was fixed! I have them on our favorite list and will use them in the future when needed.

I have used companies on the Home Advisor lists for several different projects. I have been pleased with those I have hired. I used two different moving companies for small jobs and Viking Painting for a drywall fix then painting.

Steamatic called me on Christmas Day and we set an appointment for the day after Christmas. It (Dryer Vent Cleaning) took about an hour and I was completed by 11:30 AM. The owner and his help came at the time they said they would and gave a complete overview of what they were going to do. They were efficient, on time and very courteous. Excellent service.

Finding a Contractor for Ceiling and Drywall Repair - Entered my details and with minutes I had calls from two professionals. Then within days both contractors had visited my house, reviewed the work, and provided estimates. I ultimately one of those two Contractors to complete the job. It has be a great experience!

Water heater - They were fast. Only thing was that they took door apart and said they don't put back the way they found it so door is still not put back. Would like if they take something apart they put it back together the way they found it the best they can.

We encountered a roof leak around a ceiling vent in a bathroom that found water entering the house. HomeAdvisor helped me find a roofer and had it temporarily fixed with a tarp and some applied sealant around two roof penetrations. Pro Construction Services installed a metal double railing on the stairs in my sunroom. He built a support for my mailbox, removed the old support, cemented in the new support, reinstalled the mailbox and painted the support. They replaced the individual wood stakes in railing that is around my front porch. Then they painted the whole railing. David reattached a shutter that had fallen off the house with screws and assured me it will not fall off again. I am very pleased with the work, the customer service and expertise displayed from them.

After a severe wind storm, one of my larger (30'+) trees was in danger of falling on the neighbor's patio cover. I found Early Bird Landscaping on HomeAdvisor and Myke came right away. The price was more than I would have paid normally, but reasonable for short notice and it was still extremely cold and windy (so there was the danger factor). They gave me a great price to trim up the remaining 10+ trees and landscaping and I will definitely be having them do that shortly.

The contractor I chose no longer was a HomeAdvisor client, they referred me to Baja who I skipped over because the rating was not 5.0. On reviewing the ratings they were all 5.0 but I guess you have to have a certain # of reviews to get a 5.0 - this was the only misleading thing that caused me not to look at this vendor 1st. (I would change that or at least explain it). Very happy with vendor and his prices

HOME ADVISOR ARE SCUM. They REFUSE to STOP calling us. Every time they call us, it's from a different number. Each time we ask Home Advisor to take our number off their call list, they reply with, "I never called you before". They are arrogant, sarcastic and harassing. The real question is... where do they get their money from to be able to afford to keep calling strangers and ask them for money? We have had calls from HomeAdvisor from numbers **. We hope legal action will be taken soon against Home Advisor and set them straight. STOP CALLING PEOPLE who do not want to be called from HOME ADVISOR.

Dealing with contractors can be difficult - I felt like HomeAdvisor took some of the difficulty out. All 3 contractors showed up on time for estimates and when we were ready to make a decision we checked the reviews which were favorable.

It was a tricky situation because the problem wasn't a busted pipe but rather a joint of 2 pipes that was not done properly by the installing company. They emailed me 4 other handyman people whom they said could help me. I didn't want a handyman, I wanted an appliance repair technician. She transferred me to my chosen appliance repair place. I left a message and they got right back to me. Once I was able to connect with the appliance repair place everything went smoothly.

These guys were a LOT more committed to customer service and "Doing the right thing". I have to believe that having HomeAdvisor in the mix acting as an advocate for the homeowner really makes a big difference. It is just a way better system - with better management of the risks - than dealing with contractors 1 on 1.
