Experience was as expected. Happy with the outcome. Sometimes the contractors aren't very prompt returning phone calls, just depends on the service requested. Depending upon the project size, go with a combination of your gut and the overall bid. Build your bid on detailed goals so that every contractor bidding will be bidding on the same job. Get at 3-5 max, construct your ideal project from those three to five and ask each contractor to meet or beat the bid you most like, incorporating the features of your ideal project. The end goal, get more of what you asked for at a lesser price.

Excellent service and definitely knows what he is doing. Explained the needs of the job in language that I could understand, provided fair pricing and over delivered on all aspects of the job. I knew instinctively that I could trust Randy's word.

HomeAdvisor was a life saver! GREAT recommendations three times in a row now!! I've used their recommendations for plumbing, termite damage, drywall and siding repairs. I will use them whenever I need repairs on my home or vacation home. They only refer great companies.

I was encountering water heater and electrical issues tripping the breaker. I wasn't sure whether I needed a plumber or an electrician. After using HomeAdvisor, it helped me to determine that I needed someone that specialized in Spa's. Easy to use and the issue is now resolved.

HomeAdvisor currently has a class action lawsuit against them. They manipulate you and cannot turn off leads permanently. They decide what the leads will cost you and tell you that it's about $15 upon signing up. I got miscellaneous residential leads ranging from $50 to $160 the second the leads get turned back on. You cannot pause leads until after they get turned back on, even if you do it a few minutes after midnight they push leads to your account and charge your card for all of them. You can get the money back but it's a hassle. Then you have to wait 24 hours for the leads to be turned off again! HomeAdvisor hurts small and medium businesses and is the biggest scam on the planet. When you go to cancel, they lie and say that it's cancelled! You have to keep contacting them and they keep saying they will put in the cancellation and they don't!

Although I had multiple "pros" calling me, which was not intended... it might have been my misuse of the website... I was able to find a quality plumber who was terrific! This is a tool I will use in the future!

I have had many projects over the 20 years that I have owned my home. Most of the time it is a hassle to find someone to do the work and then you really don't know what you are getting. I have just started using HomeAdvisor and have been so happy. Companies call me back right away and things get done quickly and professionally. I am so sorry I am just now starting to use HomeAdvisor, but I will definitely continue.

We found a super company to build a deck off our back porch. Once our HOA approves the project, the deck will be built. Superior Outdoor Designs is the company we selected to design and build the deck. We also found another great company to remove the framed shower glass door and panels in our master bath that our home builder automatically installed which we wanted replaced with a shower curtain. However, due to how the shower was designed (with a bench at one end with a glass panel attached), we needed to have a frameless glass panel installed in that one section. I was afraid that it would be too small of a job for any glass company to take but Shower's Today was more than willing to take on the project and a great price. It won't be installed for a week or so and I'll follow up later as to how it went.

We were connected immediately with contractors who came out to quote within 24 hours. They were helpful and courteous. We have hired contractors for three different projects. Two are completed, and we are very pleased with the results. The third is a bath renovation that began today. I am always hesitant to contact companies "from the phonebook", but am very happy with the experiences through Home Advisor. I will use them again without hesitation if I need home contractors in the future.

I have used HomeAdvisor twice. I did not grow up in this area so I don't know a "good old boy" to fix things around my house and frankly, I'm too old to handle some of them. So... Refrigerator Repair - Great experience with this company! The responded promptly, scheduled for the same day, but due to a cancellation, they were able to arrive within an hour and a half from my first call. I found them to friendly, capable and hard working. They finished the job in less than 30 minutes. The replaced the exact part that the refrigerator code implicated. The charges were per the part price catalog.

Refinish old wood floors and install and finish new floors. The older floors included upstairs, stairs and downstairs hallways, master bedroom, dining room, living room and both upstairs bedrooms. Molding was also installed upstairs in the rooms and oak saddles were installed on some of the openings to the rooms for transition and finishing.

I was trying to do research on a flooring job, so I checked the usual (Angie's List, HomeAdvisor, etc.). HomeAdvisor made me give some fairly specific info to look for installers (size of project, materials used, etc.) which I thought was odd since I just wanted to browse. After I completed the form, it ended up "recommending" one, who called 2 minutes later. Definitely unexpected and a bit awkward, though we did end up going with that installer (due to price and work included, compared against 3 others). Helpful, though I'd argue a bit shady/forceful.

Expert Plumbing worker Jimmy, did a great job! He explained everything thoroughly, and was very diligent, and neat. He worked hard, and was very friendly, and his work, was very well done. He fixed and replaced a broken pipe in the yard, with copper piping.

I've had the unfortunate experience of being a "pro" on HomeAdvisor. I repeatedly have gotten "leads" that go nowhere... the "lead" doesn't answer the phone. When you are a small business and you pay a yearly fee to be on the HomeAdvisor site, and then you pay almost $40 for a "lead" that won't answer the phone, then it isn't worth it. I know that HomeAdvisor is making a killing by sending the "lead" to numerous other pros. There have been several "leads" answer the phone and they are shocked that they are even getting a phone call. People don't understand that HomeAdvisor is sending their contact info out to a bunch of contractors. They think they can put the information in and that a bunch of quotes will pop up. HomeAdvisor needs to made their service understandable and clear.

Five stars all the way. Punctual, skilled, conscientious. Robert and Jesse did a top notch installation with what looks like high quality materials. We used black vinyl chain-link which melts into the background... Looks great! The guys went around the fence after installing and touched up any painted terminals and the ground wire with enamel paint and turned down any sharp attachment hardware to make things safe. Super people and great job!

I hired Green Thumb Landscapes, Inc which had premier listing on HomeAdvisor. I now know that the companies with such a prominent listing with HomeAdvisor pay to be listed. At the time, I believed that companies were screened. But, the company I used had an F, yes I said F, rating with the Better Business Bureau and I read the complaints and reviews too late. I also learned that the company has also been administratively dissolved and is no longer registered with the State of Georgia Corporations Division to do business. Those are two important and easy things to verify.

Replace all hvac duct and return register, good clean job. The existing duct was in poor condition and needed to be replaced. 3D Air did a great job and removed all the old duct. They recommended a R8 insulation over the standard R6 and the cost was a few dollars more but is needed in the Texas summer heat.
