HomeAdvisor is a great site that helps you choose vendors that are right for your job. They have a wide selection and each vendor has reviews to look at. The work I had done was fantastic and I will be using HomeAdvisor for several other jobs as well.

Chimney repairs - No problems the contractor I hired through HA was great. I will use HA again in the near future. Home Advisor have a large number of contractors available for many, many different projects that you may need taken care of. I urge you to use their services. You won’t be disappointed. I wasn’t.

I had two contractors look at the job to give an estimate. The first one looked at the job and said that he would send me an estimate via email. It's been over a week and I have yet to receive the estimate. The second one gave me an estimate immediately after looking at the job. I hire the second one today. I was disappointed in HomeAdvisor for having a contractor that apparently didn't want the job but didn't call or notify me.

I grew skepticism when I called, and it took a while to just give me a couple of numbers for a break in situation that I needed repaired. At first, my project was "too small" for the initial search then they did send an email with Home Doctors. It was the best experience I had in many years dealing with a company who truly provided efficient, quality, personalized services.

I have used HomeAdvisor in the past with very good results. This was the same experience and I am very happy with choices offered. I will consult HomeAdvisor for all my future projects. There are other businesses offering to find people who will provide services, but this is the best.

My couch was stained by water that came up through the floor during Hurricane Irma. The pro did an excellent job of cleaning it and removing most of the mark--particularly difficult because it was not cleaned sooner. He was also punctual, pleasant, and efficient. The price was surprisingly low, and he did not raise it because of the storm damage. I heartily recommend this company.

Water pressure tank and pump - Was pleased with the service and the results. I would recommend them and I would use the again. The pricing was negotiable and the work was done fairly quickly. They explained what the problem was and the remedy. They also reviewed how to maintain and care for the system in the future.

I have used HomeAdvisor 3 different times. Every time the professionals they recommended have been some the best I have ever used in past 40 years. They have been trustworthy, professional, and excellent workers. The price also has been very reasonable. No longer do I have to ask friends, "Do you know someone to help me?" And still not know if they are capable to do the work I need or not. Home Advisor already has that answer! HA has become the First Call I plan to make when I need professional work done.

Build up existing CMU wall. One course for 20 feet and then 3 courses for 40 feet. Included some excavation, installation of drainage pipe, building block steps, drilling and setting anchor bolts for plates. Workers were professional and the work site was cleaned each day. Quality work.

HomeAdvisor staff provided good and timely recommendations for contractors. One was not exactly what I was looking for, but the second was excellent. The third recommendation was not contacted. HomeAdvisor also provided some background information on typical costs for the proposed project, which I found valuable.

I like using this site. They follow up with my projects to make sure I have contacts made. They give a variety of businesses to choose from. I am also glad the service is free to use and understandable. I will be using this HomeAdvisor site more in the future as we bought a new home and need assistance.

Fake reviews, dont do background check on businesses. I went through HomeAdvisor for flooring. I informed HA of the poor quality work, owner refused to answer calls and fix issues. HA makes excuses as to how they are not responsible, nor do they research companies for bad business. They will solicit ANY company for work. If you inform them of bad business they refuse to place reviews under 3 stars!

I like that HomeAdvisor does the background research on contractors saving me time giving me peace of mind. The company I used from HomeAdvisor did an excellent job, cost was good, and customer service was outstanding. I will continue to use HomeAdvisor after this experience.

The guy was prompt, called ahead and was very nice. He was quick and got the heating element repaired rapidly. He knew almost without looking what the problem was. I felt he knew what he was doing and was very satisfied with his work.

They were in and out very quickly... good job. A drain pipe had been broken up and it was necessary to repair and they did a good job... The drain pipe had pulled apart in the middle where there was a double joint and I had tried to fix it but it kept coming apart. So I called and they fixed it very nicely.

I thought hiring a plumber would be painful to my wallet. But Sherman Plumbing came the following day and repaired BOTH of my toilets. It was a great job and very reasonably priced. I'd hire them again without question! Everything was done professionally, there was no messy cleanup and he totally explained exactly what was needed in a way that was totally understandable.

We realized about 4am that our heat was not working. We have two toddlers and a 3 week old newborn. I had never used HomeAdvisor before. I checked it out at 5am, and by 6am was contacted by text by GPS HVAC. We connected by phone at 7am, and by noon the project was complete. Lawn Irrigation Problem - The initial contact through HomeAdvisor was very fast. After helping me analyze my problem further, we set a time for him to come out for repair. On that day, he called ahead and then arrived on time. He quickly isolated and then repaired the problem. After discussing wanting to replace my controller for a more suitable type, he installed a new controller and then trained me on its operation. The service technician was very knowledgeable. His costs were very reasonable. I would definitely use him again.

Universal Blinds & Shutters, Inc - Marc was very professional, knew what he was doing, would recommend this company to everyone. When he came, he fix right away the blinds that we had a problem with, and gave us quote to replace others. I could not find a company to come and fix the blinds, they all say they could fix blinds, but everyone said, that it was better to replace them. Not this company.

Have used this process since before it was "HomeAdvisor". Over the years, there has been a lessening of referrals selections, fewer pros to choose from and interview, sometimes only one listed. Any job should get at least three estimates so don't understand why only one pro is referred. Are fewer professions willing to sign up with HomeAdvisor? If so, why? I still appreciate seeing other consumer reviews before interviewing to get get a bid.

The customer service person that helped me provided timely and accurate information. She stayed on the line while the connection was made. She also provided the phone number in case we were disconnected. The company that was recommended did a great job.

They came and installed fixtures in my garage (track lighting) and house (smoke detector). They did it the way I wanted it and it came out great. They gave me an option to pay by the fixture or hourly which was a nice option because with two of them I knew it wouldn't take long.

Went first to HomeAdvisor when we needed a tree removed as we had no idea who even did this work. There were a number of companies listed. We got two quotes, chose a contractor. They came out when stated and did an excellent job. We were very pleased with them and our experience with HomeAdvisor.

Tree removal and trimming - HomeAdvisor was great as always. They sent me the names of three tree companies. Two contacted me. I hired one, and the work was done safely and affordably within 7 days. I was pleased with the responsiveness of the pros that I contacted. They all came to my home to give me their opinion of my proposed project (Inside painting) and they all gave me a quote in writing. Two of the quotes were similar in price and description of the work, the other was different. When I asked the contractor about the difference he explained it to me to my satisfaction. I like that HomeAdvisor gave me names of the contractors, that I contacted them and the contractors responded quickly. This allowed me to decide and have my project completed very quickly.

There are some VERY good things about HomeAdvisor such as knowing they have checked the business out already but I do not want to receive continued emails after my job is finished. I am willing to rate the job done but after that I don't want any emails asking me what my next project will be. I would give 5 stars if it weren't for that.

Great customer service but feel that vendors are often over charged by HomeAdvisor as not all leads eventually result in a purchase and cause vendors to charge the end consumer more since they are being charged by HomeAdvisor for wasted leads who are not really considering the project.

First, I am reluctant to hire outside contractors to do work for me because I have faith in my own set of skills. I am very handy and competent when dealing with electrical equipment. This time however it was my home that was having problems. I had the power company out and they said it was inside my home. I tried several things I know to identify the problem (suspected lifted neutral). Reached out on HomeAdvisor for J&S to come to my home to help me. They sent out Jay. This kid was sharp and HOST (honest, open, sincere and truthful). Rare traits in young folks these days. He worked with me, listened to what I had already done and then he went to work> 30 minutes later he found the fault a neutral issue OUTSIDE the house. He made a call to the power company. 2 hours later they were on site, ran a new neutral line and the problem was solved. Great guy you folks at J&L have in Jay.

I would use HomeAdvisor again for other projects we need done. I also like that you can earn cash rewards.

They removed two sickly palm trees. One 40 foot Royal and one 7 truck Foxtail. Day 1 they dropped the trunks and hauled away. Day 2 the stumps were grinded and leveled to our satisfaction. They took care of our yard and other trees during the entire process.

I requested bids for a new sprinkler system. Pipeline responded the very next day and came out the next week. The second company responded 4 days later and the third company we never heard from. I would use HomeAdvisor again.

As a contractor for two years with HomeAdvisor I would definitely not recommend contractors use HomeAdvisor to get work. Most of the leads that you get are from customers who are not serious about getting work done. HomeAdvisor advertises that it is a free service. This is true for the customer but the contractor must pay a fee. My fees average $55 to $70 per lead. So if someone is just checking out the site and puts in the info, Boom I am out $70 and they had no intention of doing the work. That money could go to bills, groceries or a night out with my family.

HomeAdvisor was able to give me a list of three possible plumbers on a Sunday night, and one of them got back to me quickly on Monday morning. They got the job done quickly. The quoted price was quite close, the only difference was due to the cost of the part that had to be replaced.

I went on HomeAdvisor to find a roof repair company, put in my info and what I needed done. The next day roof repair companies were calling me several times a day trying to schedule a time to come fix my roof. One thing that was really annoying about their site was I tried a few times to make appointments from the website, selected dates and times that worked for me and every time the dates and times were bogus, the companies immediately would email and call to reschedule, and usually the rescheduled time was weeks away from the supposedly available times on the website. The good thing was I did find someone to fix the roof, and the ratings were helpful in finding someone I thought I could trust.

Contacted HomeAdvisor on the outside chance I would find some help. Very pleasantly surprised with the response I got. Told them what I needed and had a response within 5 minutes. Follow up has been amazing. Very pleasant and professional organization. Will certainly contact them for future projects.

This is the first time I've used Home Advisor for plumbing and heating issue. I was called right away and the technician was very responsive and took care of the issue. The price was very reasonable for the work performed. I would use them again.

Home Advisor is not free to the consumer. They tell the contractors to "hide" the Home Advisor fee in their cost estimate to the consumer. I feel this is deceptive advertising and it is shameful. They also charge contractors a fee even if the consumer does not use them. Considering Home Advisor send the consumer a minimum of two contractors to call, one of them are already not going to be used.

I told them specifically I didn't want leads. Brodie told me that I didn't have to set up that way. They even got my SSN#. I asked would we just be posted on their site just like we are with the BBB (getting reviews only and rated) and she said yes. She said that there was no contract, but today I called and that said that there was a verbal contract. She said that they would call and get reviews from our previous customers. They never did! I was never rated at all.

REI Plumber was the WORST! Please read my review. I will not take the time to repost here. They are rip off artists. They should not be a part of your service. These guys came in with the first bid and I should have never taken the first bid. I should have taken a minimum of 4 bids and then beat each one of them up to get the best price and service. This was horrible. My last interaction with one of your service advisors was a 10! This was a 1!

A router and a camera line was used to determine that we had to dig up the sewer pipe leading to our septic tank. Arrangements were made for a backhoe to arrive the next day. Original granite sink fell out and busted. Several contractors would not even attempt the install. Small lip on left corner so like a 9.5 out of 10 on the install. They did increase the price by 100 at the end of the day due to the difficulty of the project. But hey, kudos to these guys, they called, showed up on time and they got it installed (even my dog liked them). Not an easy install. To date, no leaks, no issues. Really turned out so much nicer than the original sink and faucet.

Work on high ceilings up to 14 feet to replace exterior lighting for 18 sealed LED lights. We provided the lights ourselves.
