HomeAdvisor is my “go to” for all home improvement projects. I’ve never been disappointed. The only thing that bothers me is the follow up phone calls and emails - it’s too much. If I’m not happy, they will be the first to know.

HomeAdvisor recommended several companies with reviews to clean my yard and a list of companies that may help reface some cabinet doors. Then they followed up to see if I got the information. They were very polite and helpful.

Easiest way to find someone trusted to work on my remodel! I would recommend anyone to use this site... works so much better than asking friends for recommendations. I have found many people to work on my house that I would use again or recommend them to others.

Ben Franklin Plumbing called and they were able to visit my tenant to repair the leak. They were fast and diligent, and repaired the problem within an hour of my initial contact. I would use them again. And I would recommend them to a friend.

I had a quote for the replacement of my stairs from a local company. Using HomeAdvisor, I was able to obtain a 2nd quote from a contractor who did excellent work at 1/3 less cost. Both my wife and I are very pleased with the work performed.

Great job. Installed three ceiling fans but one didn't work so I took it back and got a new one, also bought two other lights for them to install. Would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs an electrician. Very polite gentlemen and very professional.

Siding Repair - We had two companies respond to us by email and phone right away. We contacted both companies and the gave us all the information we needed to make a decision. Both were able to come out and repair the siding the next day. Happy with the results using HomeAdvisor.

Clean Tile Floors in main rooms and bathrooms - I had multiple choices for this project and I met with the two companies I felt would do the best job. Both owners were caring and more than competent, but it came down to which one was offering exactly what I needed and not trying to convince me I needed more. I am completely satisfied with the company I chose and I would highly recommend this website and its contractors to any of my friends and family.

Apt move out cleaning. Work was done quickly and professionally. Everything was cleaned and got our full deposit back. Very happy with the work that was done. Windows were washed. Floors were vacuumed and mopped. Baseboards were cleaned. Cupboards and drawers were cleaned. Refrigerator was cleaned. Shelving was dusted.

HomeAdvisor either needs to update the "costs" to complete a project or monitor their recommendations of pros. One "pro" never called me even though I submitted two requests- one by phone, one via the website (Anthony Holmes: Holmes Renovation and repairs) and the other pro contacted: Southwest Doors wanted 4 times the cost you list on your website to repair exterior doors (1350.00). Daniel Doors was TWICE your projected cost, but at least only a third of what Southwest Doors wanted.

Repair of hot water heater - Thank you for setting me up with a great repair service. they were accurate and fast. I will continue to use them for my plumbing needs. My thermostat failed and you were there and stated you would be and placed me with a dependable source who came out with the part and replaced it no problem. The tech with your website so super nice and helped me and made sure he set me up with the correct service. This service is the best and I will use it for all my future needs concerning my home. HomeAdvisor is a great resource for single moms. We don't have to guess at who to call on repairs. All we have to do is get on your chat and tell the agent what the problem is and you guys can guide us from there.

I am so impressed with the process, people, and professionalism of HomeAdvisor. Only one of the three contractors provided me with an estimate, a fourth contractor was no longer in the business. This contractor did not understand why he was still on the HomeAdvisor list. You need to go through your contractor list and eliminate contractors that are no longer in the business.

Tree take down and removal - Had 3 estimates. All contractors had very good ratings. Get more than 1 estimate, cost varied widely as did what they could do and how it would be done. HomeAdvisor was helpful connecting me with people who could do the job.

As a first time customer of this organization, I had a positive experience all around. I waited a whole week for a roofer that had been recommended to return my call and was getting desperate because severe storms were in the forecast as several tiles had slid off the roof two weeks earlier. HomeAdvisor appeared while I was trying to locate another roofer and I thought why not. They came through like a champ and I am very pleased to have used their service.

I love using HomeAdvisor because they really make it easy to get in touch with good Pros who have been reviewed many times before so you know what you'll get. The only thing that could be improved on the website is the tool of requesting an appointment the same day, because it does not work and the company you get matched with usually does not have an appointment open the same day. Otherwise it's amazing though, super easy to use, they really go above and beyond for customers and even call to make sure that you are having a good experience with the website and app.

Again, using HomeAdvisor is so much easier than blind calling each contractor for their proposals! This was a very old brand of stove (Magee). It had been sitting, unused for a very long time. The oven would not heat up. Everything else worked fine. Luckily, it just needed some adjustments & not any replacement parts were needed.

We will definitely call "Dan Can Fix It" again if we need repair on any of our appliances. They arrived on time and were very professional. Were able to diagnose the problem very quickly. Our dryer is 14 years old, the repair would have cost more than a new dryer so we made the decision not to repair it. They were very helpful with suggestions.

Average cost information provided by Home Advisor must be more specific when describing jobs: for example, bathtub installation cost needs to be specified if it is for freestanding tub, or for alcove tub. Otherwise your information has no value at all, or little value. But average cost information for more specific job will be extremely helpful for customers.

My experience has been simply wonderful. Lots of contractors to choose from. The follow-up is from Home Advisor is good because it lets you know that someone is interested in your satisfaction. The one contractor that I have used was really experienced and his work was exceptional, prices reasonable.

Blind Repair was done in efficient, competent way. We are very pleased with this service and will keep contact information on file to use for future use if necessary. Mick was very personable and professional.

I own a legitimate paving business for 5 years now Licensed, Insured and Bonded 100%. HomeAdvisor called my phone for 3 weeks straight 3-4 times a week trying to get me to join. When I finally decided to give them a try I was on the phone with the sales rep for over 1hr giving them all of my info Social, credit card info, we even set up the app. He told me to give him 2-4 hours for the background check to process and he would give me a call back. 24hrs goes by no phone call so I decided to call him no answer left numerous messages. At this point I was nervous because a stranger had all my private information.

Home Advisor gave me 3 recommendations. The one I took, Richard ** was incredible. Did the work and repaired the chairs. They look like new. Could not have been a better provider and at a very reasonable price. One of the other providers wanted 4 times the price to do the work.

The company they referred did a great job! The technician was very knowledgeable and came prepared. He also cleaned the work area during and after the job.

Gutter repair and replacement - The recommended company called me within about an hour and made an appointment to come by. The gentleman experienced a car issue but called and apologized that he had to reschedule. He came the next day and we got our estimate and later that day they called and set up an appointment for the NEXT morning to do the repair and install. Great service and did a great job. All were very nice and price was great.

I needed a plumber for three jobs: two involved real plumbing skills and one to clean out a pipe so my kitchen drain would work. I got the name of a plumber on the HomeAdvisor site. When he called I told him my immediate need was cleaning the drain, but I needed a quote on the other two jobs. I asked him if he was a licensed plumber and he said "yes, of course I am!" So he came and cleaned the pipe for $109, but he said he did not want to do the other two jobs because one needed "two men" and one involved cutting into the drywall and he didn't want to do that. I told him I would get someone to prepare the drywall (just wanted to install a shutoff for the ice maker, so it was a 4"x6" square) and I would hold the other end of the pipe for the other job. No, he said, he couldn't do that. I again asked if he were a licensed plumber... "Yes."

They put me on with a garage door repair company that was 80 miles from my house; when the guy showed he did NOT wait for me to okay his estimate, he just jumped in and did it. The door worked. For 2 weeks. I called him at least 15 more times to come out and fix the fix; he NEVER showed up, despite appointments made. I contacted HA about the fact that this guy is a ripoff, and I want my money back. They have IGNORED ME TOTALLY. They SUCK.

I had four phone calls from HomeAdvisor and felt these contractors were trustworthy. I felt safe having someone come to our home and do the work. I am using this site again for a heating and cooling project that we are looking to repair or replace.

HomeAdvisor is really a good site for your needs but they have to screen companies before publishing. Lacasa's Plumbing for example should not be in their site. He does not know the job. He took my money and ran without doing the job. When I called him, he put up an attitude.

Tree removal - HA easily allowed me to explore a few options for my project. I was contacted very quickly by the vendor that I ended up hiring and he came out within days to assess my needs. The quote was provided within a couple days and they quickly responded to questions I had about it.

Yard clean up with Brookmar Plus then got another contractor coming to give estimate on a sunroom. I had a appt with another sunroom company but for some reason HomeAdvisor cancelled it. It has been a challenge to get a sunroom company to come out.

I used HomeAdvisor to pick a cleaning service. I was amazed how quick and easy it was. Within minutes I had selected a vendor, scheduled an appointment and was done! The recommended vendor did a great job - I couldn't be more pleased with the experience.

Concrete laying - First rate work. I thoroughly recommend this firm's work. Their charge is parallel to the competition and I feel their pleasant demeanor will make their enterprise a continuing success. Note... The surface pattern selection, though small, was good. They cleared the adjacent area viz. No mess left!

I had to have the valve stems replaced on some old tub faucets that had no access to allow for replacing with new faucets. I received a number of responses, got three estimates, and got the work done without any issues.

I couldn't believe how fast and accurately the website identified my problem (Broken garage door) and hooked me up with a good, local business. They even scheduled the appointment! And it was an "emergency" call on a Sunday. I can't say enough good about this.

I had telephone calls from the actual vendors within 45 minutes and selected the one that I thought was the best match for our needs. I use HomeAdvisor as my first choice when researching potential vendors to hire for projects.

He first came out for an estimate and showed up promptly at that time. He explained everything he did and why he was doing it the way he did it. I was very happy he was able to repair my issue two days earlier than my appointment time. Very professional.

App easy to use, - provides a few contractors to reference and will call you once information provided on project required. However, I noticed when trying to get an idea of pricing, not quite useful, as once the background information is provided and submitted the vendors start to call to set up appointments. No problem, good followup, but at first would like to get an idea on the "possible" costing prior to obtain vendor calls. Overall, good service.

I contacted American Overhead Door for garage door repair. My door had one missing roller and another that was off the track. The repairman was here within an hour of my original email to several companies. The tech was very courteous, prompt and knowledgeable about how to fix the issues. He was done in about 30 minutes. He advised to get a new opener as my old one is in need of a lot of repair and will be expensive to fix. I will be doing that soon. I would use this company again for any repairs.

Drains in the whole house were not working and an overflow condition at one toilet was occurring. The tech was able to quickly determine the issue and then to clear the clog by snaking it. Considering the problem, this was a pleasant experience.

This is my first time using HomeAdvisor. Once I choose a plumber to clean out my main I didn't see an option to post about it. And I continued getting calls from other plumbers 2 days after I scheduled an appointment.

I had a big carpet company crap out on me and I needed carpet quickly due to a move. I jumped on Home Advisor and hired Bridge Wood Flooring that day. By 1 pm on the 2nd day of the job, I had 2500 sq. ft. of carpeting installed with a price that was less than half of the big carpet company's cost. Bridge Wood came through for me and I give them my highest recommendation. Great service. Great price. Happy customer.

Used HomeAdvisor to find a handyman, an electrician and a plumber. It was easy and I would recommend them to anyone. The handyman and the electrician we needed super last minute when our stove was delivered and didnt fit in our kitchen and there was no way to hook it up. The plumber we needed for our bathroom remodel and that worked out very well also.

Great job by the company I used. However another company responded and said they gave me quote last year and was unavailable. I think somehow Home Advisor got the companies mixed up but it turned out ok. I also used another vendor recently and was pleased and am getting quotes for a different project next week. So far, pleased with Home Advisor.

The entire crew was professional; they were more than on time; all of the crew was polite; and all of the work was conducted to more than my satisfaction (trees trimmed as per specs, cleanup was excellent; all operations were conducted in a safe manner - harnesses, ropes, carabiners, etc.) I highly recommend them.

I needed to have all of my appliances checked. I was connected to someone quickly who followed up the next day. I was satisfied with the service and will use Murray's Appliances again. I will be sure to make Home Advisor my first option when I am seeking help for Home Projects.

Code Green Junk Removal did an amazing job. They showed up 2 hours after we made contact and their guys worked like a well-oiled machine. They handled 3 pickup truck loads of junk in 20 minutes flat. We will definitely use them again.

HomeAdvisor is extremely easy to use. I was able to find a contractor and get responses within one hour of searching online. I've used the website 3 separate times to find contractors for painting, electrical and trim molding installation and have used each one of them more than once on separate projects.

I have never had a bad experience with HomeAdvisor. They are always responsive, and the pros I have hired as a result have been top notch! I tried other home service websites, but stopped looking after finding Home Advisor.

HomeAdvisor rips off contractors. They charge $70 per lead even fake and duplicate ones. And they send each lead to 3-4 contractors. So they make almost $300 even for fake leads, I wonder how much they actually screen. Terrible experience.

Had a large concrete patio installed. We are super happy with it! Guy Blank returned all my calls or answer the phone personally even though he’s very busy. He came when he said he would and did a great job. Would recommend him highly.

HomeAdvisor (HA) is a scam! I signed up because of a good persistent salesman. I've been using a service called Thumbtack for over 2 years and am a "Top Pro" for both years. It isn't easy and only 3% achieve that status. That being said, HA charges you at the time you get the lead whereas Thumbtack only charges you if you accept it and is 1/3 the price per lead. HA told me they were more qualified leads and that people had to fill out a 3 page form so they were more ready to act. I have spent just under $1400 with them in 5 months and not 1 job. In fact their lead response rate was about 1/5 of that of Thumbtack's. When I went to quit, I was talked into 3 free leads and to follow their guidelines exactly so I did. When a lead was sent to me I was supposed to call within 5 minutes because they said 90% of the leads go with the 1st response. (at least if nothing else for an appointment) So I did and still nothing.

I have had a great experience with this particular job so far with HomeAdvisor. As a consumer, I Would highly recommend using the service. I will definitely use the service again as I have more jobs that I need done around the house.

Bids come in right away... I had at least 3 bids to choose from on the two jobs I proceeded with, and both contractors did an absolutely fantastic job. I am impressed! Will definitely use both companies again and will recommend them to anyone needing the service they provided.

I didn't know who to call to fix my garage door. It's great to go to one site for all types of home repair. The site is easy to use and the pros are quick to call and set up an appointment. My repair guy show up on the same day, fix the problem and didn't overcharge me.

Went onto HomeAdvisor to look for a tree service to get an estimate on clearing my backyard after the person I contacted no showed. Within 5 minutes John called to see if they could come out today. He walked around the property and listened to what I wanted to achieve, quoted me a price and they got started. They were here less than 2 hours and cleared 75% of the trees other than dropping the very large trees. They even swept my next door neighbor's deck to clean up some of the tree debris.

Replaced both house and detached garage roofs. This was not an insurance claim. I interviewed three separate contractors, so why did I choose Homelife? 1. Overall - their cost beat the other two contractors; in one case by $3k and the other by $4K. I broke down the components between the contractors to determine which package gave me the most bang for the buck. 2. I chose GAF products. Ridge vents, edge vents etc. You may not be aware, but here is a base, Silver and Gold levels which have corresponding cost levels.

I wanted to compare services and quotes, but I was only provided with one option in my neighborhood. When I inquired about that, I was told that maybe there weren't any others available in my zip code. That seems odd since we're in a very populated area (West Loop) of Chicago.

This started as a simple washer/dryer installation in an area of the house with existing hookups. However the hookups had been disconnected by previous owner so electricity for the dryer plug needed to be reconnected and some plumbing needed to be done to bring water back. This led to issues discovered with the drain for the washer. It involved much drain cleaning.

We refinished existing wood floors (changed stain color) and added wood where carpet was including stairs. Project was finished sooner than we anticipated. Results were great, we were very pleased. The project cost more than I expected, but new panel box and breakers plus 8/2 wire about 100 ft added to the expense of the project. Thus the price was higher and although it could not be helped with all the work that needed to be done, I am somewhat amazed at how little the cost really was.
