Had a tricky problem just outside the reach of homeowner tools and skills. Fixed bid a reasonable rate (beware of the lowest bidder) and job was completed. Nothing magical, just a little more industrial tools and the knowledge to know what is safe to do get to the clog. I'm an avid DIYer and there is not much I won't/can't tackle but knowing when to call a pro is a valuable asset. Finding the right person is the hard part. I pulled the top ranked plumber for my area and had a fair fixed bid within 10 min. He showed up on time and resolved the problem. I'll use this plumber again, as well as HomeAdvisor.

Hired a lawn service through HomeAdvisor. The gentlemen were very respectful and attentive to my needs and that should show that it's a reflection to HomeAdvisor. I have also, set up some meetings for a deck and also for windows. Both of those companies seem to be on point, as well. With that, in conclusion, everything seems very pleasing.

I have used HomeAdvisor on multiple occasions. Most recently I have used them for plumbing, fence repairs, and dryer repair. Today my dryer was repaired in about 10-15 minutes for a very reasonable price. I find Home Advisor to be very helpful and plan to continue using it.

The whole process was super simple. I especially appreciated hearing back from businesses who want your business rather than reaching out to businesses who aren't looking for more work. That's a great feature of HomeAdvisor - so much simpler than the "old fashioned" way. I also like that everything can be done through email vs phone calls (although I appreciate the personal touch once booked.)

They were prompt and finished on time. They replaced a shower faucet and cartridge. Tile had to be cut to complete the job. They charged me what was quoted plus materials. They cleaned up afterwards. I was able to charge it to my credit card. They said the work is guaranteed and I could call them for any unforeseen problems.

This service can be dangerous. Use at your own risk. I received a phone call from a contractor who started cursing about how he provides the best service and that I should hire him. When I told him that I wasn't interested, he said he will show up to my house anyway and will start work. I am very uncomfortable to say the least. I contacted HomeAdvisor about what was happening and asked for some advice. The rep said that she couldn't help because I didn't have his name or phone number (used private number). The rep actually said that it was my FAULT for using a real address in the request. She kept insisting that I should have filled out the request without the address. When I told her that it cannot be done that way, she then said I should have put in a fake address... Don't use HomeAdvisor. You have no idea who they are sending out your information to. Call the companies yourself, directly.

I had a great experience with HomeAdvisor website - the site recommendations were perfect, gave me input on prices, rating and multiple choices of getting several quotes; the work performed by the recommended electrician was great and the charges were reasonable. I will use the site again and will recommend it to my friends.

Always hesitant to try to find a good contractor. Heard so many difficult stories of bad experiences. Site had a number of listings. This is the second time that we used Home Advisor. Did not disappoint. Will use Home Advisor again.

My experience with HomeAdvisor was smooth and easy. I got several suggestions for contractors, I made some calls, and got a quick response from the contractor "Home Front Construction." The contractor I chose was prompt, courteous, honest, and thorough. I highly recommend both Home Front Construction and HomeAdvisor.

Apparently HomeAdvisor either intentionally or unintentionally has delivered my contact information to contractors who are cold calling trying to sell me windows. This line of home services has just cropped up this morning but after 3 calls in 15 minutes it is clear that something is amiss with the Home Advisor data security because I has made no such requests. Since Home Advisor does not seem interested in getting to the bottom of this issue please be advised that using their services or not using their services seems to be a path for getting even more unwanted cold calling from probably bottom of the barrel contractors.

I have use HomeAdvisor on several occasions now and have consistently found them to be immediately responsive with solid referrals. I will continue to use this service to locate qualified professionals for additional upcoming projects. Home Advisor has proven more helpful to me than the competing online service.

Logged in, answered too many questions, only got three contractors, then the page up, page down, link to reviews - none of these worked. Frustrating. And It seems all of these type sites - HomeAdvisor, Angie's List, Thumbtack...all use the same program. (Or are they all the same company!!) My best resource turned out to be the yellow pages! And there I didn't have to answer questions or give address and phone number!

I needed to hire a contractor to work on my patio. People contacted me fast! I was able to talk to 4-5 different contractors about the job and was able to hire the one I felt most comfortable with. The job started quickly and the contractors were friendly and offered suggestions about what to do.

Sprinkler system had stopped working. There were multiple broken sprinkler heads and a number of the heads needed adjusting. They arrived on time and did the work in less than two hours at a very reasonable price. Overall it was a great experience.

An easy way to find trustworthy, competent, affordable pros! We didn't have to spend a lot of time going through the phone book to find someone to help us fix our problem. HomeAdvisor is a great resource. You know the Pro's ratings and what other people like or dislike about them.

The site is very easy to navigate. It gave me an option that worked out perfectly for me. The company that was chosen as my best option turned out to be just that. It was a company that I may never have looked for or at, but after this experience, I will be calling them directly should I need their services again. System had multiple problems, some of which were caused by the company that winterized my system. Irrigation Solutions (John) was able to locate the problems, show me what was causing them, and repair the issues on the spot. All repair parts needed were on the truck.

I have multiple skills and can usually take care of my own repairs. I do, however, know when the job is above my abilities. As an employer for 22 years, I am always cautious and skeptical when I need to hire someone. HomeAdvisor directed me to an excellent company and I had zero problems. Installed new insulation in the floor of the attic and insulated the gable venting. Used batted rolls. One company's name came up in our search for appropriate companies. The company called us the very next morning and was able to complete the work immediately.

HomeAdvisor helped me locate (a) a roofer to replace a botched-job chimney flashing; (b) a brick mason to tuck-point the mortar on my chimney and damp-proof the chimney brick; and (c) a chimney sweep company that will construct a metal cap to cover the chimney crown and provide a cover to prevent rain and critter intrusion. The chimney sweep will come back later to clean the flue.

Thomas House Washing - Thomas was very kind & professional. I was most concerned about some mold that was growing under the roof overhang and he made sure to pay attention to those areas. The whole house and driveway looked great! I will be recommending him to friends.

We scheduled two appointments for concrete work through HomeAdvisor - Denver and both contractors failed to show up at the appointed times. I called HomeAdvisor - Denver to let them know no one showed up and the HomeAdvisor representative told me they may have "dropped the ball" and the contractors were probably not told of the appointments. I do not recommend using HomeAdvisor - Denver to schedule home improvement services.

Very pleased with service and professionalism of All About Rooter. I was given a firm price quote up front. The issue (Stopped up drain) was resolved quickly and mess the cleaned up. I would use them in the future and recommend to friends.

Great recommendations and Dryer Vents Only called me so quickly and went with him. We scheduled within two days. He was great and thorough. He even gave me some dryer times on settings. Plus he noticed my water was too hot so adjusted my water heater temperature. Would definitely recommend.

I was looking for a good local ac company. Home Advisor sent me a list of a few of them. I contacted them and found just the right company and at a fair rate. I would recommend Home Advisor to anyone that is looking for a good rated company for any repairs needs for basically anything you are looking for.

Needed urgent A/C repair and thought going through HomeAdvisor would be a good idea. BAD IDEA. Following prompts on HA site, received text confirmation for a late appointment, between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. Got home before 4:00 to be safe. Waited in hot house for hours. No show. Service rep's voicemail was full and not accepting messages; no message option on main office number or website. Next day main office said repairman came midday but no one home. Apparently there was zero coordination between HA and service provider. Ended up googling repair services myself and found someone to fix problem within 4 hours. Could have avoided 24 hours' misery by not going through HomeAdvisor.

I requested quotes in my area for home cleaning services. The portal took a bit to complete and come back with the information. My overall experience was very good as I was contacted by a very good service and they completed the work on time and within my budget.

Being new to HomeAdvisor, we didn't know what to expect. Our company was excited as we started to receive leads, only to be shot down by most of those leads. The leads were looking for free estimates, so they could change the price on a house they were selling/buying or wanted to have some work done for pennies on the dollar that would have caused us to lose money before we even started the job. We never got those jobs and as a result have lost a large amount of money for leads that could have been sorted through prior to us receiving them. A simple question such as 'Are you the homeowner?' would be great addition to the site. We are very displeased at this time with how the leads are distributed and how ingenuine HomeAdvisor seems to be.

Home Advisor is a great referral source. I have used them about 7 times now and each repair, cleaning, etc has been excellent. I would recommend each of the companies I used to my friends and neighbors. They are the best.

I gave HomeAdvisor a list of what I needed. They sent me a list of their recommended Pros who could do the job. I got 2 estimates and went with one of their suggested pros. I had my cedar fence pressure washed and stained and, as you can see, the pros did an excellent job at a reasonable price. I use Home Advisor every time I need a project done around the house. They have always given me the best pros. The pros call and we set up a mutually convenient time for an estimate. Very easy and I trust Home Advisor.

Call for a specific business and thought I was getting direct number to that business. No, it was HomeAdvisor representative. The HomeAdvisor representative pushed another company. I said I wanted the company I called. He said only one company is available via their information and it is not the one I called about. I politely declined. I did not want that company. I did not give him any information... name or email. I did not give him permission to use any of my information. I thought that was the end of it but yet the next day I got a call from the company I declined. I never shared my phone number. The HomeAdvisor rep. must have pushed through my number (which he got off of caller ID because I did not share) and pushed through referral just to make his commission. I feel this is a violation of my privacy.

I was able to find a great landscaper through HomeAdvisor when other avenues failed. Very few contractors responded to my request for bids, and some that did promised bids but never delivered. I would use HomeAdvisor again in the future.

The R&R Roofing Company received a call from your service letting them know I was in need of a handyman. I accepted his estimate and the timeline I needed the work to be done was perfect.

This was my first time to use HomeAdvisor, and I could not have been more pleased with the outcome. When I realized my roof had been damaged by a storm, I asked friends for a recommendation. I found the roofer's name on HomeAdvisor, filled in a contact form, and was called back in less than two hours to set an appointment. The roofer came to the house the very next day, and my project was completed within the week. HomeAdvisor will be my first stop for the next home repair/improvement project I have.

HomeAdvisor gently nudged me along the path to planning and having whole house AC installed. They helped finding local contractors and reminded me to contact or ask for help. HomeAdvisor also made available information to help me ask the contractor the right questions.

I am another unlucky local business owner who thought he would get more clients and expand his business through HomeAdvisor. I was very skeptical at first when I checked out their website and provided my contact information. John ** called me and tried to persuade me into paying $288 for setup fee (annual) and then it will be $10-$12 per lead. I didn't want to pay this much up front and said No.

I had two locations with drawers that needed repaired or replaced. Both were done in an acceptable amount of time. One of my locations drawer was completely missing. Jason came in and was able to match the drawer exactly, you cannot tell it was ever missing.

Had old furniture that was broken and it was too heavy to lift. This company came and picked it up for us. They let us know when they would be here. They were very friendly and professional. It took less than an hour to move the furniture and the cost was lower than most companies. This company is local and what they can, they donate to local charities. Wonderful company.

The site is still FULL of inconsistent agents. Over the past three years, it say half to two thirds of the contractors I've been paired with either don't show up for their appointment or they aren't really interested in the projects. I've been fortunate to find some vendors (usually with long, great reviews) that have been very good to work with. I just wish H A would do a better job screening out the mediocre agents. You never ask for feedback on missed appointments, contractors that quote 3-4 times avg, or accept jobs but never follow through.

The job involved the installation of a semi-rigid duct for the new clothes dryer I am purchasing. The old duct was not up to code and could not be used. The technician drilled through the divider between the laundry room and the lavatory area and ran a pipe along the back wall of the lavatory through to the outside wall.

Had a dead dutch elm that had been dead for a couple of years. I had gotten a couple of quotes, both closer to $2000. Leo came out the day after I contacted HomeAdvisor & quoted $900. While there we discussed trimming three other trees with varying problems. He quoted what I felt was a fair price. I called the next day to give the go ahead with the project. After a few rain delays, they showed up at 8am on a Saturday, & were finished & cleaned up by noon. Very happy with the job they did.

So far, so good. I have only used HomeAdvisor once and the experience has been good. I was connected with a quality contractor and, though he isn't licensed, his work was exceptional which gives me some confidence in Home Advisor's service. I also appreciate the follow up done by Home Advisor after having a job done. That proves that they are keeping track of the contractors they refer. I'll be using them again.

Ceballos Drywall Company repaired four holes in my ceiling. Emmanuel did an excellent job. He was prompt, efficient and skilled. He completed the job and cleaned the area upon completion of the work. I was very pleased with his work! I highly recommend him for drywall repair.

This company needs some serious lessons in CS systems and best practices. Terribly uneducated personnel. It's always a blame game with them. HA purposely lures homeowners who ARE NOT serious about getting the project done so they can charge the professionals. TERRIBLE leads and bogus information. They will be sued soon and will be shut down no doubt.

Dryer vent was jammed with lint. Clean-as-a-whistle now. Great price (1/2 of the competitor). Came out the next day to perform this service. Went above and beyond on a 100 F day cleaning the outside vent from the roof. Would recommend.

Requested info on power washing. Received three recommendations and two of them set up appointments for estimates. Was impressed with Sims Powerwashing. Mr Sims did a great job. I like the fact that I can go to one place to find someone to handle my projects.

I joined only 2 weeks ago. They took my $348 for membership and after another week, they started sending me "leads". In 5 days time I received 6 leads at an average of $80 per lead. Only 1 of those leads was I actually able to contact and estimate a job. Of the remaining 5; 3 of them I could not make any contact at all (did not answer phones or emails and did not return calls). 1 of them was given to me completely outside the scope of work I do and 1 could not do the job at all due to an electrical junction box location. I used their request credit link and was given credit for 2 of them... Great! Right? I gave it a few days to see if any of the other 3 would call back, they never did. 1 of these "customers" had an address less than 2 miles from me so I drove over there to find it was a dilapidated trailer park and the lot # the "customer" listed was a vacant lot!

Had used in Houston for stone cleaner. I knew to rely on them when the maintenance company for my Jacuzzi walk-in tub was so unresponsive. The person assigned to help me did not call for a long time and then waited over a week to return any calls. HomeAdvisor identified 2 qualified plumbers in a few minutes.

HomeAdvisor is very easy to use. Pull up the App, find the service needed and multiple, pre-screened companies close to my home were listed. No need to chase down specialty workers. All companies have been very customer service oriented and pricing has been fair with no upcharges over estimates. All work timely estimated and completed.

Heating cables installed on kitchen roof. I have already described my experience with Ideal Electrical Solutions as being very favorable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend his work to other customers. Price-wise this is the best deal you can get for your money. AC was leaking. Contractor was able to come within 24 hours. AC was inspected and it was determined it needed Freon. Contractor filled unit with Freon and also leveled outside unit that he noticed needed to be lifted up. Repair was efficient and contractor was knowledgeable and personable.

Excellent. A few quick notes and we were given three names within 5 minutes of clicking on the link. All three services called and we went with the one we felt would work best with our schedule. I would use this service again as I may never have found these three qualified vendors amongst all of the big names on the internet. Not pushy. You can chose the service that you like. I am happy that I paid attention to the 1st Pro, diagnosed this unit, he found problem with voltage. But 1st and 2nd advisors were forcing me to replace entire system (AC, and furnace and something else). But I understand that electricity must be fixed anyway and - vu-a-la - this one fixed wires and it works! Even thought that the device is very old and needs a replacement sooner or later, but not now.

I used HomeAdvisor to find a contractor to repair my hardwood floors. Contractor showed up, explained the process and fee, but not before he explained that he would be happy to scam the insurance company and inflate the estimate. Since no else responded, we had him do the work. He showed up, explained that he was rushed and then didn't have the items needed to fix the floor. Before he could start, he wanted money to buy supplies to perform the work. We gave what we estimated it would cost, he went to the store and returned. What he estimated was 3-4 hours to complete; total cost $200. He was in and out in 15 minutes.

Home Advisor has skyrocketing price quotes for their area jobs. I am floored at the cost you quote for specific residential jobs. At the rate you advise for the work, homeowners (myself) are hard pressed to get work completed. What you advise appears high and in my opinion not realistic to our economy.

I love this site. Because you have to actually hire a company here in order to leave them a review about the work they did, and because that company has to pay a fee in instances when they are hired, the reviews here are trustworthy unlike most other sites. It is so hard to find an honest company nowadays but with being able to read REAL reviews here and make a decision on what people say companies did to them in real life, instead of trusting advertising, it's a breeze to pick a company here and not have to worry about getting screwed over. I wish I would have found this site years ago so I could have saved myself thousands of dollars in wasted money paying unethical companies to do low quality work.

Both Lawn Care companies have turned out not so well. The Lawn Guys ripped me off for $370.00 after 6 months of exceptional work (just disappeared) and Green Angels was missing large patches of grass and leaving divots all over my lawn from his mower, in addition to not trimming or blowing.

Very easy to use. Contractor contacted me right away to set up appointment. Contractor did an excellent job. Arrived on time. Made sure we were happy before he left. We Would use HomeAdvisor time the need arises. They set us up with an excellent contractor that was hired to clean out our dryer vent but when we heard they also do gutter cleaning they were able to also do that as soon as they were done with dryer.

After submitting my information I had two companies contact me within 30 minutes and had two estimates in 24 hours. The company I hired was professional and efficient. I will use HomeAdvisor again for other work that needs to be done.

There are vetted s who work on properties in my HOA community but no one had worked with a plumber on the problem I described. Therefore I checked out HomeAdvisor and was given 3 recommendations. The one I selected appeared to be a smaller operation not affiliated with a national brand and I was very pleased with their services and delighted to know when next I have a similar project I can count on HomeAdvisor for recommendations.

I felt very comfortable having this HomeAdvisor provider in my home and appreciated his honesty and genuine concern. I wanted a second opinion regarding my AC. This company (Romanos Heating & Air) spent much more time assessing the system and was definitely looking to repair the unit as opposed to telling me I needed a new one (which is what the previous provider indicated).

As a home inspector I was told by a sales rep from HomeAdvisor that I would receive 6-7 leads a week with a guarantee that I would receive at least 85% of these leads at no more than $20 a lead. So I signed up for a $250 membership. As a new business owner I was excited at the opportunity that was spoken to me. I was told they have no inspectors in my area and that having me was a need for their customers. I was even promised a 3500 sqft job lead that was on hold and looking for an inspector. Unfortunately, I was reeled in bait, line and sinker. I never received the lead. I sent in my info for my background check and they told me I had a Felony. I was offended, never had a Felony in my life. After all that was cleared up. I went 3 months without a lead. After numerous phone calls to HomeAdvisor it was revealed my lead account, even though I paid for it was never activated.

Stone work around house, sidewalks around pool, JTA did an awesome job at a reasonable price. They were neat, courteous and were able to do what we asked of them. The experience with Home Advisor was just as good. Good experience overall.

Replaced deep water well pump, wiring and water storage tank - Excellent service by HomeAdvisor and Well Pump Company. Would recommend to others. Fast Response. Excellent work. Excellent material used. Quality work. Cleaned up all removed material. Had all material necessary when arrived on job. The HomeAdvisor web site is an excellent service.

I had a water leak on the main water valve. HomeAdvisor got a plumber to come out the next day to replace it. My wife noticed the next day that the water pressure was low so we called the plumber and he came out right away and changed it to better suit our needs at no extra cost. It was a good job and I have contacted HomeAdvisor again for another problem that I had.

I also am an 'Angie's List' member, but don't plan to renew that. This is a comparable service, and it's free to me. Actually, because I've used multiple professionals referred through HomeAdvisor, I think they're going to pay ME $50, which is delightful! Everybody I've hired through Home Advisor has done a wonderful job, and I will continue to use them. I encourage you to do the same.

If I could give a 0, I would. We had 5-6 companies come out to give us an estimate for a project. After 3 weeks, only 2 got back to us with quotes. After doing our own research, on the two companies, we found out one of the guys that was sent to our house had been arrested for drug trafficking. I'm not exactly sure what HomeAdvisor's screening process is, but it's certainly not up to par. I would NOT recommend using HomeAdvisor unless you want them to send criminals to your house. A month and a half later, our project is dead in the water.

HA called me saying they had 30 plus perfect leads for me. I expressed reservations as their system does not have my category of Interior Designer. They said, "No problem. You will get great leads." I signed up and was sent leads of people who do not own land, do not own a home, who must have someone fluent in Spanish, who wanted a contractor not a Interior Designer and so on. I sent hours on the phone on several occasions getting a few refunded but many they denied so I had to pay for junk leads. Terrible customer service. They need to have the proper category before they solicit professionals. I begged them to add my category, NOPE. So I'm done.
