15 foot clogged 3" pipe. Slow draining sinks in the kitchen and one slow flushing toilet. Previous home owner ran grease down the drains causing the clog. Leave this work up to the Rooter Man and you will be very pleased with the results. Expedient and professional.

Very easy to use their website... Their recommendations saved me time and money. I will use their website again if needed. You state what you need done and they find the business and workers to complete your project. I would use them again.

I posted a negative review about a drywall contractor recommended by HomeAdvisor. One day later, HomeAdvisor called to inform me that the contractor disputed my review, and that they demanded that I provide documentation to support my review. Frankly, that is totally absurd. HomeAdvisor survives on the fees they charge contractors that they recommend. I understand that business model. But, to question the dissatisfaction expressed by a customer who pays that contractor demonstrates that HomeAdvisor doesn't want reviews based on true customer experiences. Apparently, they want, and will only publish, positive reviews of their recommended contractors. For the record, my review is still "pending" due to my refusal to waste any more time and effort on this matter. I will never accept another recommendation from HomeAdvisor.

I am new with HomeAdvisor. I was dealing with Pheobe. She was very attentive with me while trying to sign me up but as soon as there was a problem, she's gone in the wind! I have tried several times to contact her over the last few days with no response. Pheobe never told me that I would be billed weekly. All she told me was that I would a $250 credit in free leads. I was under the assumption it was billed annually to renew cause I asked her that and she said yes. However, she failed to mention the weekly charges for leads that are randomly sent to me. I called their customer Service line Friday the 23rd and spoke with Teresa who assured me she would contact the right people and have them get back to me. That was not done. It looks like HomeAdvisor is just a money racket and that's all they want!

It also allows you to send requests to multiple companies. You can then ask each to give you a quote and compare their prices and service.

A 12'x12' concrete patio on sloping ground; 4" thick on the high side, and 8" thick on the low side. The sloping ground required fill dirt that I did not have on-site. Affordable Concrete (Derek ** and his Team) drove offsite to a location that had fill dirt and brought back sufficient quantity to do the job. Really appreciated how they responded to a problem and then solved it without a lot of fuss.

Had high radon levels in basement. Dan quoted a price that beat other similar companies. He installed a radon mitigation pump in basement storage room and properly vented to outside. Dan was very professional throughout the entire process. Highly recommend based on price, knowledge, work performed and customer service.

I have attempted to use HomeAdvisor several times to have work done on one of my homes. I tried to find a roofer, a plumber, and someone to repair or replace my porch several times during the last three years. I have only had one response ever from recommended companies. I hired a contractor that did respond from HomeAdvisor.com. The contractor I hired was supposed to be licensed, bonded, and insured to work in Canton, Ohio, HomeAdvisor claims their contractors are prescreened. My contractor had a license. He did not have insurance. He was not bonded to work in Canton. He did not obtain a building permit before he started working. He did not stop working when a city inspector told him to stop verbally. He waited three days to apply for the permit after he completed removing the old porch and building a new wooden porch.

I have found a plumber and an electrician on HomeAdvisor. Both were excellent in their profession and were very customer oriented. I am quite happy with the opportunity and the ability to use HomeAdvisor to find local professionals to do work on my home. Using HomeAdvisor has taken a lot of pressure off of me in trying to find quality service in an area where we are new.

A new cabinet door hinge screw broke off inside the face of the cabinet. The broken piece needed to be removed to replace the hinge screw. This took some skill and patience and Russ refilled the hole with epoxy so that a new screw would be secure holding the door hinge in place.

Steven was very professional with his performance. He identified the source of the problem that caused accumulation of frost/ice in our Maytag refrigerator freezer. He removed the damaged part and showed it to us and mentioned that it was a problem with Maytag refrigerator. He installed a new part, which he explained would correct the problem. He provided warranty on labor and parts.

Very pleased with the service I received from HomeAdvisor. Three businesses called me. One didn't seem interested but the other two provided free estimates and I selected one which did an amazing job and I would definitely use them again.

After spending hours calling answer machine after answer machine on a Saturday I came to Home Advisor. The first call to one of Home Advisor's referrals landed me a plumber who could help me that very same day. I would use Home Advisor again.

I'm generally happy with the results I get from Home Advisor pros. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that we don't get a lot of matches on searches in our area. I generally like to get 3 competitive quotes on big jobs, and I usually only get 1-2 matches from Home Advisor and have to do my own search to supplement them.

This site was useful, intuitive and simple. Was matched up really quickly with someone in my area. My parents told me about this site, and setting up an account was easy, and making an appoint was easy as well. The texts were prompt and informative.

I was pleased to find a recommendation there for Innovative Insulation, LLC, in Windber, PA. There were a number of reviews, all positive. I called the owner, Shawn **, who came out, inspected the job, and gave me a price. He did a great job.

Clogged drain from Kitchen to main line. Contractor was very efficient and completed the job in about 1 hour. Doug had all of the proper machines in his van and wasted no time cleaning out the clouded line using both the snake and pressure jet. Very pleased with his work.

The tile floor in my family room, kitchen, powder room, laundry room, and foyer are perfect! The cleaning was done in a professional manner. The cleaning of my area rugs was excellent. The colors are very vibrant. The reds are bright; the contrast colors are distinct, and the whites are clean.

Home Advisor helped us find an nearby plumber with next-day availability easily and quickly without having to call around or wait for the morning to start scheduling things. This was the second time we used HomeAdvisor to hire a contractor to perform work at our home in South Lyon, MI. Beware that HomeAdvisor gives a false impression that the approved contractors on their website are honest and reliable. In fact, the company we hired through HomeAdvisor did not perform the work as agreed and failed to return the deposit for said work, even after sending a certified letter. I thereby contacted HomeAdvisor to determine my options for recovering the deposit money. I was informed by one of their customer service reps that the complaint would move to management level and that someone would contact me within 7-10 business days. It has been more than three weeks since contacting HomeAdvisor and no word from them and no deposit returned from contractor who is now no longer approved on their website. Would not recommend using HomeAdvisor.

The only company who responded was Steady House. They shored up our fire pit hoping to decrease the amount of heaving from our pavestone patio. The Steady House crew worked tirelessly excavating the dirt to create the holes for the piers. They moved my plants carefully and then replaced them with great care to ensure everything looked normal. I definitely recommend using Home Advisor for your next project.

I received a call from Daniel from ** selling me on how this service would help grow my business. I signed up and he promised me that after he turned the leads on that we would discuss each lead before I was charged. I noticed a few days later that I was already charged $390. I immediately called him to discuss my concerns. He told me to not to worry about it and that we would discuss it, I wasn't charged and asked if he could call me back. He didn't. I called and left several messages and never heard from him again.

I tried to log in the next day. It said that I have to activate my account. Then it linked to a change password screen. I gave up. The only company that called me has finished the work, and I am very satisfied with it. I will call them again.

I am the owner a Draper Floors in Carrollton Tx, I have found out that HomeAdvisor has place a false ad on Google Chrome indicating that they are a part of installation division of Draper Floors. This is a false advertising and we are going to take legal action to have this false advertisement removed. People read Draper Floors good reviews and then they are falsely directed to HomeAdvisor's contractors that have signed up with them. Consumers are being fooled into calling HomeAdvisor when they really wanted to contact Draper Floors. Draper Floors report this to Consumer Affairs and has learn this is a common practice of HomeAdvisor. Just go to Consumeraffairs.com to read.

Very professional, came as promised. Full team and got the work done in one day. It was a large job. We took down about 10 trees and all the shrubs around the house. Stump and all. They cleaned everything before they left.

I have attempted to hire handymen from HomeAdvisor. My first apt was canceled a day or two before accepted scheduling. So, I tried HomeAdvisor again, had a handyman and got appt scheduled, again a day or two before my scheduled appointment, I received another cancellation. Two strikes, they're out. Won't use them again. Will stick with Angie's List. At least they show up.

Alliance sent one of their workers to our house within the hour, and he was able to complete the repair in 30 minutes, which involved replacing both extension springs, one rotor wheel, and installing two safety cables. Our garage doors were very noisy and we wanted to make sure that they were in good shape. He did a very thorough inspection and oiled all points on the doors. This company did an excellent job. Showed up on time, work was done professionally and fast. No room for improvement. I highly recommend them. Two men in the pouring rain removed a huge river birch, they had the stump ground and roots removed and left no mess at all, not a twig or leaf. They hauled it all away as promised. Their equipment was more than adequate and they knew exactly how to use it all. No damage was done in the removal. It was impressive.

HomeAdvisor is a big scam. They only post good reviews so a homeowner has no idea if the contractor has had any complaints. I tried to post a 3 star review and they would not post it. It was pending for months and whenever I called they told me it will post soon. They are liars and scammers and more people should know about it. How can every contractor have an average review in the high 4 range? They can’t and not allowing potential customers to see the poor work that one may have done destroys the whole point of their site. Like I said, just a bunch of scammers that should be sued by millions. Chris Terrill should be ashamed of his company and himself. Only a morally bankrupt individual tries to pull the wool over millions of people.

Finding the right kind of people to do the job is not easy, I have used Home Advisor to get recommendation of service providers around 5 times, out of which I have ended up using those providers twice and both the time I was very happy and satisfied with the work. The times I didn't use the providers is that those projects are still pending and when the time is right I am going to end up using those service providers.

Good customer service, came earlier than planned, did the job (unclogged 2 upstairs baths) & cleaned them up! The price was a little high but once the job was finished was happy to pay. Would recommend to my neighbors, family & friends.

I have a 23 year old red crimson maple that had never been trimmed, this wasn’t a job I could do and didn’t know of a reputable company. I had seen commercial for Home Advisor and figured I would try it out. It was easy and I felt good about being able to see other customer reviews and the ease of service.

Very pleased with quality of workers. Price of workers varies. Helps to read reviews on the professionals. Professionals are very responsive when you put search in for a project.

Second time we have used HomeAdvisor successfully. Used to find our current landscaper as well. We now use Universal Landscaping. All Island Fence was prompt and followed through with calls all the way up to last one, asking about how satisfied we were with the work.

A few days ago I looked online at HomeAdvisor to see if I wanted to use any of their contractors for an air conditioning situation in our home. I never contacted any contractor from HomeAdvisor. At least 12 contractors contacted me. I never asked for anyone to contact me. I didn't use any service at HomeAdvisor, even though in the past I have contacted contractors from this site.

One of the main reasons I used HomeAdvisor was the ability to book appointments from the website - something they advertise. I booked two appointments for two separate projects. In both cases I received what I thought were confirmation emails from HomeAdvisor with the phrases "Your appointment has been scheduled, Richard!" and "Projects work best with communication. Get in touch!" But nothing about needing to confirm the appointments or that the dates/times selected weren't actual appointments.

I used HA's website to find a Contractor to install a new garage door. I picked one in the area whose profile looked good. When the rep arrived he didn't even have a tape measure to measure my opening to determine the dimensions of the new door. We discussed the installation and what it would entail, i.e. type of opener, cosmetic touchups after installation, what additional parts would be required. He wrote up the contract and Emailed it to me from his iPhone and asked for a 50% down payment and asked if I would make the check out to him instead of his company. I complied with his request.

Within minutes I was contacted by a local business (Assured Septic). Turned out to be the float switch. Parts and labor was under $150. From start of my search to the time the repairman left my driveway was an hour and a half. I thought it was worth every penny. I'll use HomeAdvisor again!

Now keep in mind the person on the other end might not always be best for your line of work, so you might need a little home knowledge otherwise you might get taken for a ride even with a good contractor as they might not have the approach you need. Overall a great website though, very polished and very helpful for a rental company such as mine.

HomeAdvisor claims to have a strong system of intervening in case of disputes with contractors. They just check the boxes and hardly do anything to resolve the dispute. Case in point, after I made a formal complaint regarding Victor Lawson (unprofessional contractor I ended up hiring based on HomeAdvisor's paid recommendations and reviews), they were not able to take care of the issue and finally referred me to FairClaims, a third party arbitration settler. FairClaims did the hearing and I was awarded monetary damage but there is no help from neither HomeAdvisor nor FairClaims yet in actually enforcing the award. There is no live person or phone to talk to about it. I have been having a hard time trying to find anyone to respond to my emails.

HomeAdvisor has listed a company name with our company. The State of Texas will not allow other companies to register a name similar to an existing company name. Our company, Draper Floors is registered with the State of Texas. HomeAdvisor listed a company name of Draper Floor that isn't registered with the State of Texas. We requested HomeAdvisor not to continue to list Draper Floor and they refused our request. Draper Floors has reported this issue to the Secretary of State of Texas.

Do not sign up as a contractor for this company. Read the fine print, terms and conditions. If you sign up they have the right to use your business name in any way. Including posting on internet sites and rerouting all the incoming call to their company and sending the customers to other contractors. This is legal if you sign. This happened to my son. They basically stole his company so all his customers that he built up are now redirected to another contractor. This is horrible. They also make up other companies with the same name as yours but slightly different so they get all those calls as well. We will be willing to join any class action lawsuit but in the fine print you agree not to do that. I bet there is a way. Any attorneys willing to try?

My recommendation is that HomeAdvisor allow the consumer to review pro choices and prices BEFORE scheduling. I was surprised to be scheduled right away with a price range of 50 to 500 dollars. I had to get in contact with the company to find out what the cost would be. I did not expect that. In addition, at some point, my messages reached two people. It seemed like they could see on their end who it was, but not me (a bit confusing).

On three different occasions I have had the need for hvac work, what I find is that the ones provided by HomeAdvisor all say that they have the utmost integrity for the customer and highest quality standard. They were also listed as servicing my area, but yet they are apparently such an independent field that they do not respond, but then again the latest request showed that the contractor did service my area and was only approx 10 miles away but when I submitted the request, via the 2 window dropdown menu, it came back that they DO NOT service my area which is in the same county. Go to their website and it clearly shows that my city is listed as one of their service areas.

I hired three pros through HomeAdvisor and have left 2 reviews of the three required to take part in their $50.00 Awards Program. However, after the fact, I found that I do not get credit for one of my Pros I hired because they were not on the original list submitted to me by HomeAdvisor. I did not like any of the Pros on the first list submitted so I went back in a requested additional Pros. I was not informed that I had to use someone off of the original list submitted to me in order to partake in the Rewards Program. This is totally a deception to the consumer. User beware if you are planning on the $50.00 reward.

Cons: For those who are not handy, a tool that allows a search for available handymen/women is useful, appreciated and often necessary. It is also frustrating and you always end up hoping you chose the right one. Pros: I found a handyman but it may turn out that he is going to rip off my 80-year-old mother because he got a deposit and has been a no-show twice.

House cleaning - Very professional and good workers. It was nice talking to her and work ethics were good. She kept the appointment and if she got finished with her previous job she called to see if it was okay to come early.

The company wanted too much money for the time spent. We should have gotten another bid. They did not do what they said they would do. They were to check the roof leakage via the attic. We figure that each worker makes on the order of $200/hr.
