Signed up for annual membership only $347.98, Charged additional $904.52 without authorization. Account closed due to fraud, membership closed after discovering charges within one month. Scam involves setting up a profile and turning on "leads" (leads are unqualified and not verified and you are charged regardless) you are suppose to know how the systems & apps work from day one while they are charging you behind the software where they have set up "spend targets". No transparency and when you request help "the system is down". The live helpline cannot see your account to help you understand how the scam/system works.

I couldn't be happier with what was done (gutter cleaning, power washing deck and brick on the house). I felt I could trust them right away. Very personable and helped explain each step they would do and why. I was called and verified when they would be at my home. Were on time and I am very happy that my husband didn't have to clean those gutters.

NOTW Electrical was very professional, fast, and his work was phenomenal. The technician gave me a fair and reasonable quote. The technician was in and within one hour and a half. I'm going to reach out to him for another project.

We had not trimmed the trees or the bushes for two years. The men trimmed the trees, bushes and cleaned up the backyard. The yard and the trees (see attached) look beautiful! They were true to their word and reasonably priced. The men were polite. If they had questions, they asked before continuing. I will ask them to return.

HomeAdvisor makes it easy to see the companies I have to choose from and see comments from prior customer's with ratings. This was my second services booked through HomeAdvisor and I know that I have at least 2 more jobs to go.

The business that did the work was quick and very professional and I would definitely recommend them. They are not that far from me and I never knew they existed.

I have used Home Advisor for four different projects. I have found contractors for an egress window installation, a sprinkler installation, a wrought iron fence installation and a home painting job. Every job was well done! What really helps is being able to look through many reviews on each contractor in order to find one that is both qualified and meets your need!

Repair of detached gutter was performed. Work was done professionally and in a timely manner. They even went ahead and cleaned the gutters throughout the whole roof. Would consider using them again when the time comes to replace the gutters.

HomeAdvisor came up with several results for my inquiry about appliance repair in Brevard County. I picked the top one as he had very good ratings. I also check his ratings on other sites and they were all great. I chose this vendor over 4 Samsung authorized repair businesses as none of them had very good ratings.

I was at a loss on how to find a good contractor to finish my basement. Home Advisor was quick and easy. I found that the person that uses HomeAdvisor has technical process in place and this is something I appreciate. My contractor was professional and had systems and processes in place that made the whole experience a pleasure to work with.

Mow to very short, aerate the lawn, apply Grub and insecticide. Mow again, rake up thatch apply fertilizer. Do spot repairs to sprinkler system. Trim several trees and clean up the debris after completion. James did an outstanding job, he accomplished more than I had asked and cleaned up after the work was completed.

Needed a home inspection, requested inspectors, had one hired by the end of the day and inspection complete by that week. The process was simple and the services were rendered. The fee from the inspector I found was a fraction of what the bank was trying to get me to pay with their recommended inspectors.

The project was to install crown molding in three rooms. Tom and his crew did a fantastic job at a great price and in a short amount of time. HomeAdvisor made finding the right company to do the job very fast and easy.

We were being plagued by loud, obnoxious noises coming from inside our chimney. After a few days of this, I turned to HomeAdvisor for help. From there, I found out about Michigan Animal Control LLC, the owner of which called me shortly thereafter. Based on the type of noise we were hearing, he determined that raccoons were living in our chimney! The Horror! Within 3 days, the problem was taken care of and the raccoons were gone. Thanks, Sal!

Window Installation and Replacement - I was very pleased. I was referred to Approved Contractor and chose them to do the job. They were fantastic! The representative they sent was very thorough and explained the windows and choices, and also brought samples. Very nice presentation! Very impressive. I would highly recommend HomeAdvisor and Approved Contractor and would use them again.

I have used this service to help find professionals that are dependable and trustworthy to do certain jobs at my home. I could not be more pleased with the results. I know that when I am letting a complete stranger in my house to discuss a project that needs to be done that I am dealing with someone that has already had a background check done and I feel comfortable and confident and my decision to hire them for the projects that need to be done. Great contractors- only had one bad experience but every other time great experience with HomeAdvisor. We have moved from Florida and back to North Carolina. Will use them for any other needs. Only experience in NC was great with TV installer. We have moved to a new house so we probably won't need many services for a while but when we do we will usually use HomeAdvisor.

I do find it a bit annoying when you give me recommendations for companies who do not even do the work I’m requesting. This needs improvement. I don’t really have the time to screen the people you’re recommending when you should be doing this. I do however had a great experience with your services. It’s one stop shopping.

My existing pump developed an intermittent loss of power, and I tracked down the issue was inside the well casing, at the pump, or the wiring going to it. Smart Water's crew arrived as scheduled, removed existing 0.5HP pump, head pipe and wiring, and seal. The problem was found to be in the wires. I wanted to go back with a new pump due to the existing pump being 20+ years old. So Mike Installed new Sta-Rite 1HP submersible pump, head pipe/wire and casing seal. Received a typical sales pitch of how HomeAdvisor could bring in business for my company. I believed their sales rep and paid my $287 yearly subscription fee back in Nov 2017. Four months later (Mar 2018) I received only one lead which was bogus and had to make two 30 min calls to reverse the charge. One month later, I get a second lead that calls at 6 a.m. on a Sunday morning; I'm closed for business. I call HomeAdvisor to express my disgust and all they can say is it was a legitimate lead; no refund. FYI for other vendors: You have to compete against other vendors (upwards of four) to get a lead and you each have to pay the lead fee, even if you don't get the business.

I gained an estimate from the company and once we agreed to the price, I give my business to the company. HomeAdvisor does all the background checks, so I don't have to worry about it. I called Mountain Home Remodeling from New Market, Maryland Phone ** for a price to replace our roof. They gave us an excellent presentation on the GAF architectural shingles. Their price was the lowest of any roofing contractor that we got prices from in Montgomery County, Maryland. They perform the work within two weeks of signing a contract. Their employees were prompt ,courteous, and had respect for our home. We were happy and if we had any concerns. We are very happy with our experience with Mountain Home Remodeling and will hired them on our future projects. We highly recommend Mountain Home Remodeling.

Garage door would not close fully. I wasn't sure why, if it was the track, the sensors or something else. I called several contractors that HomeAdvisor found for me and the project was completed quickly. This was a big help.

Dryer would not dry clothes. Ricky determined that the problem was a faulty circuit breaker, not the dryer. I called an electrician who changed the breaker and the dryer worked fine. Ricky checked out the dryer parts and told me everything was working properly.

This is the first time I have used HomeAdvisor and I couldn't be happier. HomeAdvisor provided me with the names of several companies to help place some seamless gutters around our house and I chose GSD Construction Services in Daytona Beach. They contacted me the same day I put in the request and came out the next day to provide me with an estimate. Today they came out and installed 37 ft. of 6" seamless gutter, 28 ft. of 3x4 downspout, and 40 ft. of 6" Bulldog screens. Jonathon, the one performing the work, was friendly, yet very professional, with an eye for detail. So, my first experience with HomeAdvisor was very positive and I will definitely be using HomeAdvisor (and GSD Construction Services) again for any other work I might need done in the future. HomeAdvisor sent a company to my home to clean come to find out the company hasn't been with HomeAdvisor for over a month. Instead of sending people to my home that was with HomeAdvisor they let Hands On come into my home. They had their 2 children clean my home. Hints why it looked like a flood on the tile and NOTHING was clean. The floor wasn't even swept, the cabinets and drawers were not cleaned out, oven was not cleaned. We asked for them to come back to clean the cabinets. Well come to find out it wasn't done. Also the guy was in the kitchen slamming the cabinets. We moved so the place was completely empty! $300 it cost me.

Chimney chase cover replaced on roof. Very satisfied with quality and time required to do job. Will use again and refer this company to family and friends. Did not know who to use and thanks to home adviser the problem was solved. They said they will follow up on the work to make sure I was satisfied.

HomeAdvisor seems to be very good at vetting companies that go on their site. Also a full review is asked for at end of project. I have even called them to get a hold of a company I could not get a hold of. HomeAdvisor did and problem was fixed.

HomeAdvisor advertises reviews and the provision of cost information for a given project. Upon reading the response I received when I entered the project information, it stated that the response information, such as reviews, was input from the service providers themselves. Regarding cost information, I was informed that the cost estimate would be provided in person, not in advance so I could make an informed decision in advance of having someone actually come out. Furthermore, the response stated that the service providers "may not have been screened" and that I should verify the screening information myself. Hmmm, review information given by the provider themselves, cost information provided but only in person, and a warning to verify screening information myself... Seems deceptive to me.

Contractor showed up on time for the appointment, removed the concrete sidewalk in a timely manner and cleaned up the site completely. I would recommend this contractor to friends and neighbors. The Contractor was fair in price and quality of workmanship.

I used HomeAdvisor to have my land surveyed for a fence project. I wanted to make sure that I did not build on a neighbor's property and since I did not have the information, and did not know of a land surveyor, I was able to find one easily and quickly from HA.

Repair broken garage door opener - Unit had a broken knob that had fallen into the motor. The unit worked part of the time. The keypad could not be used at all. It all works now. I had gotten the part that was needed for the repair. That helps the repair moves faster and was completed with just one visit.

I can't believe the lack of professionalism from this company especially for being so big. Best advice check out Thumbtack if you want good solid HONEST BUSINESS. These guys are Mickey Mouse scam artist. They told me the service would only cost $27/month which okay sounds reasonable. This month would have been the second month with them but I planned on canceling my service because all the leads were non relevant and I didn't even submit one bid. Then I check my bank statements today and they charged me $97. Unauthorized and a big jump from $27. Either way I get it. Mistakes happen... They were extremely rude and not willing to reimburse me the money I did NOT say they could charge. Bad bad bad business.

Freezer repair - CNS did a good job for me. I thought HOMEADVISOR would provide me with 4 possible repair companies, but only one. It would be good for a little competition for repair. A customer is kind of stuck with the one repair company that responds. Because you are out a service fee if you choose to shop around for other deals.

I contacted HomeAdvisor and the Pro called me back within 5-10 minutes. He was onsite doing the estimate within 2 hours. Started the job 5 hours later and was finished the small job in about an hour. Done and done.

Built cabinet, made wood frames for installed air conditioners, installed doorknobs, trimmed trees, painted cabinets, made a mailbox, repaired a cat-scratching post.

I have used HomeAdvisor for a few home repairs. The contractors have been the cream of the crop. I have recommended these contractors to my family and friends. I submit a request for jobs that I need done. They send me 3 companies to choose from. I read their reviews and make my choice. It's that easy.

I have found that HomeAdvisor has no actual contacts. HomeAdvisor uses a program that lets them know what you are looking for (Type of work). HomeAdvisor then charges their contractor a fee for that contact. When I called the contact person they had no idea what I was talking about. The contact person had never talked to anyone at HomeAdvisor. I would think that this would be considered fraud or wire fraud for charging money for false leads? I have statements from the contact persons I talked to who will say they have no idea how HomeAdvisor got their information. So could this also be considered as identity theft? They are using someone else’s name and information and billing the contractor for those names, numbers and address.

If the vendor advertised "Free Estimate" and then sends you a $149 BILL for that free estimate, as he did to me, he can do so, and REMAIN ON HOMEADVISOR! To do the same thing to 100 more, or 1000 more, unsuspecting customers who put their faith in the HomeAdvisor name. A name I now understand means "Good luck with your problem contractor who was recommended by our site. We can't help you."

Although there's no charge for customers to use your service, I was told that for every lead to a business, that business is charged a fee, whether the business obtains the job or not. That does not seem fair to the businesses, since this is in addition to their membership fee. Most customers are not aware of this practice.

So, I Went to BeenVerified and tested the emails. Found that every email had a alias name. The alias name was the name HomeAdvisor used. I am going to try and get as many contractors together for a class action lawsuit against HomeAdvisor. Feel free to contact me if you are a contractor having to pay for these fake Leads.
