I like having a trusted site to look for contractors versus pulling names out of the paper or CL. It’s also important for us to read local reviews as we review contractors. We reached to HomeAdvisor 3-4 times in the past 3 years. Have been very satisfied.

HomeAdvisor does a great job of finding craftsman that are close to our area, who have fair pricing and do exceptional work. We have not yet been disappointed by a company that we hired through HomeAdvisor. We will continue to use them.

My area is devoid of year-round, full-time tradesmen and the caliber of service and customer relations is hard to predict in an interview, even with a personal referral. The tradesmen found through HomeAdvisor have met or exceeded expectations in terms of work commitment and quality of work. That leaves only price, efficiency, and customer regard left to compare.

I just wish HomeAdvisor would just let the customer make the phone calls. When we put the info into the system you match us up to a company and the calls start. Why not let me go through the reviews first then I'll call who I want to do the job. But other than that you do a really good job.

No stars after wasting a day. The plumber that HomeAdvisor turned me onto was supposed to be here in the morning. Plumber called at 12 noon to tell me he would be here at 1 pm. Immediately I got 3 contractors phone calls. They all gave me estimates and suggestions for what needed done. I would have hired any of the three but ended up with the one who bid the least. I had repairs to my gutters and and leaf guards put in. They installed one new down spout, and repaired several others. They cleaned out the gutters and put a drip guard on the house and garage which our last shingles had not done. They touched up some paint. The 3 that worked here were very nice. They kept me informed as to what they were doing and they worked constantly from their arrival until they were done.

Was able to locate a very good general contractor for our kitchen remodel and followed-up with us many times. The website gave us many options and the one we selected we felt was the best we could have selected. We have recommended HomeAdvisor to many people.

I was contacted quickly by individuals who were willing to do the job. I did not understand initially when I reached out to HomeAdvisor that I would immediately be solicited with offers from potential vendors so I was a bit caught off-guard.

Contractor called same day to give price and came to do the job as arranged 3 days later. The price seemed reasonable and he was very pleasant and explained things, also gave a report on the general condition of the roof.

The only reason I rated HomeAdvisor a 3 instead of a 5 is because of the incessant number of emails they send once you register. It's maddening and unnecessary. From the very beginning of registering with HomeAdvisor, users should be able to select how often they would like to receive emails rather than just sending them out daily.

I asked for a plumber and was directed to a five star company. It worked out great. He came over a day early and fixed my toilet in less than one hour. The rate was very reasonable and came prepared with everything he might need.

I have now used HomeAdvisor with 4 projects and found them to be useful. The process of getting a quote is simple, you get a good cross section of contractors, and the price (free) is hard to beat. I pretty much plan to use them for every new project that comes along.

Joe gave me a price for tearing out old concrete slab and sidewalk. Next morning his crew showed up to start job. They worked all day and project looks great. The new concrete patio looks better than ever and sidewalk looks even better. Patio was installed with proper slope to drain water away from the house. I wish I had called 10 years ago.

As a business owner I will say this is the biggest scam ever, my rep ROSS got me into this bs, got me with $400, then in less than a wk they charged me $600+ on leads, now not even a month they sent me a bill for $1620.00 and that they will send me to collections... Tree 40 ft Large Dawn Redwood - We weren't home, but the work was done fast and clean. The stump grinding came more than 4 weeks later as Ms. Utility had to do the markings first. The only thing I regret is that I didn't have the clean up of the ground stump material removed as a part of my contract. It was a lot and we have to clean that up.

For this job, some asbestos tiles were removed as well as carpet on top of tiles. This was the third floor of an old house in the city. It was a very professional job. There was good communication with the company and fair pricing as well. Highly recommend and had no problems with the job.

I was contacted by HomeAdvisor saying they 17 leads in my area for my profession. So I sign-up. That evening I test the system, acting like I want an estimate. I was charged 20.02 for the lead. I was told my leads would be 11-18 dollars. That is the only lead I received. The next day I call to cancel my membership. I was told that they would refund my lead and the membership, but it would take 2 weeks. It has now been 24 days and after I wait on hold for 20-30 mins. I get another excuse. Now they are saying 14 - 30 days. It takes them 10 mins. to take your money and still waiting for my refund. Please be Advised to contact these folks have plenty of time. And believe little of what they say. I have e-mails (which they don't respond to) to prove my case.

I have used HomeAdvisor twice. The first time to convert a pocket door to a standard door. Workman was prompt and did a great job. The most recent job was a complete re-screening and cleaning of our pool cage. Spence Screens did a WONDERFUL job!! Very pleased. Will definitely go through HomeAdvisor for our home needs.

HomeAdvisor's service providers ALL responded to my request (Repair Concrete Front Porch) within 2 hours - all five of them. They ALL came to estimate the job within a two day time frame. Of the 5, only three followed up with written estimates and we chose to not chase the ones who didn't down. If they don't want to take the time to send a written estimate, then they likely don't want the job! HomeAdvisor is a wonderful resource.

Got three estimates on repairing/replacing our roof after having wind and water damage. We actually did not take the lowest bid because we were very satisfied with the presentation of Coastal Carolina and they actually found more water damage to our roof than the other contractors after looking in our attic which meant the other bids would probably go up in cost to repair this additional damage. Coastal Carolina representative was very professional and made us feel very comfortable through the entire process of the project.

Home Advisor is great for getting us qualified repair personnel at reasonable prices. The only problem we have had is that they keep trying to send us repair people from Las Vegas. Since we live 90 minutes away from Vegas, that's not feasible as there will be travel charges for most businesses to come this far.

I've had many successful experiences with HomeAdvisor and this is a terrific service. However, in this case, the only provider for plumbing service came back as Horizon. Since Horizon advertisements are everywhere (mail, radio, internet, etc), and I have used Horizon in the past, I did not need a service to identify them as a provider. I needed multiple estimates to ensure I was getting a fair price. For this one experience, HomeAdvisor could not meet my expectations.
