I rely on HomeAdvisor to help me research the best options for our projects. We bought a fixer-upper and have many projects going at once. My husband and I both work full time so when something makes more sense to bid out than do ourselves HomeAdvisor gets us quick quotes from reputable contractors who communicate the way we need them to. We've had almost entirely 4 or 5 star experiences in the two years we've used HomeAdvisor.

Our house really needed to be deep cleaned, and the thought of trying to do it myself was overwhelming. Donna came in and just took care of it! Our house looks like new! We've hired her to continue to clean for us!

Their leads are about 4/5 are useless. Every contractor I've talked to has told me the same. When you tell them this and ask for a refund for useless leads, they will try their darndest to steal your money. Save your money and frustration. They don't know anything about their contractors or the contractors' businesses, which leads to insane prices per lead. For consumers, don't believe them when they say they verify their contractors. My verification process was just to show them my business application, which anybody can do for $50. No license asked for, no insurance. I'm pretty sure I could have just showed them a business card and they'll take that.

I have used HomeAdvisor several times and each time I have have hired one of the referrals they were great. I will keep using this service each time I need work done around my home. I have used them to locate plumbers, a handyman, landscapers and a general carpenter. I like the fact that the professionals can contact you through text and email. It is a wonderful service and without them and the reviews they publish I don't think I would have had the work done as professionally and within budget.

The Web interface was very accurate to lead me of what I needed done. The choices were clearly defined and easy to select. Once defined, the contractor contacted me in a short time and provided great work.

Drywall repair - I have never had a bad outcome with the people I find on Home Advisor. I have had several different projects ranging from window cleaning to yard work. Whenever I have something I want done, I always look to them for the help I need. Thanks, Home Advisor for your website.

What a scam! I had a bad solenoid on a sprinkler valve. I am 85 years old with neuropathy and the solenoid is in an in ground box so very difficult to get on my knees. I hired Rob. He unscrewed the old and screwed in the new solenoid-2 minutes. Everything works-job complete. $75. Yeah right! WAIT. Rob says valve is cracked and immediately saws off the PVC line to the entire front yard. Later I critically examined the valve—no crack!! We have to replace valve and since there are three old one so we should replace all three—all the standard plastic type. A week later Rob says he is on his way to replace the valves. I was very busy day so I could not watch. He shows up with three “Brass valves” without my permission—Cost $300 he says! (Later online I find in-line brass valves for $27, 32, 36; My same old plastic valves $12!) I was leaving the State for 21 days so I had no choice as Rob sawed off the line to the front lawn and it would die.

A/C Tune Up and maintenance - Kobella come on time and very friendly. Love those orange shoe slip being wore while going through all of components of our 18 years old A/C Unit. I wouldn't have done this any cheap cause those tools they have, wouldn't come handle occasionally. They were done in a good timely fashion. I was able to go to my appointment after they complete this job.

The only complaint I have is that you list professional business names of companies you recommend. I have used your website twice and both times, I did not receive an invoice from the company in the name you had listed on your website and was asked both times to make check payable to an individual. It don't feel that is a good way for you for represent your recommendations.

Very fast contact from the two local contractors identified. Within minutes they made contact to me. The first contact provided me his quote but also provided me help with establishing a temporary fix to my problem. The product he used so far has done the job and prevented further damage to my roof.

I now have a place I can rely on the quality and service of the contractors offered by HomeAdvisor. This is my second time using them and have never been disappointed with the contractors that were available/recommended by HomeAdvisor. Thank you!!!

AB Stucco did a great job repairing water damage at the back of my house. I appreciate their work and my ability to discover them by using Home Advisor. I generally like to have multiple bids for contracted work, but Home Advisor only listed one stucco repair contractor for my location, so I hope they expand their listings.

Excellent... Home Advisor found the perfect washer for me, he used a soft technique for older vinyl and a house ready for new window inserts. I had the job done within a week. It came out really great and shines white as white can be again.

He just replaced a switch on my panel and indicated a $95 fee plus the part. When he finished in less than 30 minutes he wanted $334!! For previous electrical jobs I have paid $150 to $200. Same work. He should tell you ahead of time an estimate for the job, and in my case he could have told me over the phone.

My overall experience with HomeAdvisor was very good, however, I received way too many emails initially when setting up my account and submitting my initial request. Once I connected with the contractor I selected the emails stopped and everything was fine. I will definitely recommend HomeAdvisor to others in the future.

Two men fencing called me and came in give a free estimates, the next day they came in and installed new fence. The other fencing company (Florida Fencing) showed up a day after. I had to let them know I already have taken care of it. The Florida fencing company asked me to let you know that came so they would not be charged $35.

Replace hot water heater - The first contractor that responded was the one I ended up using. Prices were quite varied - from $1200 to $1800 for the same thing. The first three contractors that were submitted by HomeAdvisor had varying types of responses. One when I hit the button actually scheduled a job, so I had to call HomeAdvisor to get it cancelled. This seemed a little too aggressive. But I went with the first one and was very happy.

We are a Homeowners Association that need to do improvements to an on site Disc Golf Course and add a retaining wall with drainage for a soccer field. General Concrete responded quickly, worked with details that needed to change due to legal issues discovered, flexible time frame to complete work, but did meet deadlines we had discussed. Friendly, quality work and great communication!

The process worked out well and I was glad that I could talk with so many people with just scheduling it through the website. I will use Home Advisor again when I have another project in my home as I was well pleased.

Joe, the owner of Above All, answered my call immediately, within a minute. After discussing my problem (it was not a routine request) a service visit was scheduled for late that same day! Needless to say I was very impressed. The work turned out to be difficult but completed quickly and professionally and I was very pleased that the problem was solved. To be fair, there was one minor issue which was resolved immediately, because as Joe said, "That's the way it should be." I would recommend this company to anyone, as they were responsive, professional, and ethical in their work practices.

Home Advisor was very easy to use and very helpful in finding someone who could do the needed work. Sean Wick from Wick Works in NY responded to my request. Sean was excellent -- I was actually coordinating (from VA) for my daughter (in VT) and Sean made it very easy to make this coordination work.

They give several recommended of highly rated contractors. Easy to schedule appointments. Always follow up on your results. I will definitely use them again. They also cover just about anything you would want done to your home. They also follow up to make sure a contractor contacted your job.

I hired Startup Plumbing for a shower leak repair through HomeAdvisor. They did a great job and I highly recommend their service. The tech responded to the service call is very nice, courteous and competent. He communicated with me every step of the way so I know exactly what is going on. Great job.

They treated us great but we Spent over $1000 and never received one legitimate request for work. When we went to cancel they offered us 10 free leads and still didn’t get inside one home. My business partner is an incredible salesman and we generally land one out of every 2 to 3 jobs that we quote. Now they are sending me emails every day and I have unsubscribed at least four different times and begged the senders to stop sending me emails. I called the company asking them to stop and she basically told me she had no control over that.

Competent, polite, clean work, I would recommend America' Choice Roofing unconditionally. They came on time and delivered on budget. They respected my property and cleaned up beautifully. The job they did was better than my expectations. The repair was difficult, but Jason had the expertise and experience to analyze the problem and solve the issues completely.

I paused my service - they kept giving leads and taking my money without my consent or authority. I complained - rep was rude. Didn't care. I would recommend contractors stay far far away from these crooks.

Service is a scam. They gave leads from towns I did requested and billed me for it. On April 25 I was charge $286 then from April 25 till May 11 I was charge another 230 dollars for leads sent that I did not use. They tell you, you only pay for the leads you use and not for the ones you take, while they charge you for leads sent.

The site is always a value especially if you would rather work with independent contractors, which I do. You sometimes have to call two or three of them before you find the right fit but that is pretty much how it goes anyhow. I feel you save money with HomeAdvisor because some of the best contractors do not have big budgets for advertising for getting their name out to potential clients.

HomeAdvisor provided more competitive and lower cost bids than provided by the contractor assigned by my insurance company. I got 3 estimates and all responded quickly. One came 2 hours before the appointment time and missed me. His bid was confusing and he did not respond quickly to my questions. The other 2 were more punctual and I selected the one who appeared more experienced even though his bid was higher. He did a nice job, but was a bit slow.

Hired a sink refinisher. Joe did a wonderful job. He had a cancelation and came the next day. Arrived early, got right to work. Very professional, tidy and friendly. Sink's look brand new. He found another crack, and fixed my bar sink too. Would RECOMMEND him, and HomeAdvisor.

They contacted me early this year to add me as a contractor. I told them I was not ready to start my business yet. They said they just needed my info to run a background check and that it takes a while. The next month they started charging me without contacting me to authorize. They charged me over $2000 in one month before I caught it. I thought it was a misunderstanding but they would rectify it. I called told them. They said they would stop the charges but couldn't give my money back until a manager would call me and that would be within one to two business days.

Very good referrals and responses. Selected service has been rated 4.5 out of 5 for service thus far provided. Services especially cooperative with the rainy conditions which makes scheduling cuts difficult. We have to date been on the same page. Yadda yadda yadda.

Excellent work - They completed our third floor adding drywall, covering chimney, building a half wall and painting. They arrived on time - we made some changes to the work and they were flexible and easy to work with. I would definitely work with them again.

Had a fence project that I was looking to get bids for. Filled out some details on the site and within a couple minutes had one or two recommended contractors pop up. I received a call from the first one within a couple hours to set up a time to meet. I ended up using this contractor for the job. I was really surprised to have received a call from HomeAdvisor asking me how the project was going. I've used them in the past but had never gotten a call from them. This was a very unexpected bonus, would recommend using them.

Install water heater. They said they would be here at 7:00 AM. Were here at 6:58 beautiful. I quickly showed him around and said I had to go somewhere. I got back at 10:30 AM. Job was done perfectly and everything in order. Was pleasantly pleased.

Finally was able to finish an electrical project though here. Everything was super easy and straightforward. I was matched with a few different business who responded promptly and with other reviews I was able to make a selection that worked out perfectly for my needs. I would definitely recommend using this site for household projects.

I like everything about how HomeAdvisor works from their site to the pros they recommend. It's nice to be able to compare estimates and choose a pro. I feel it keeps the playing field even on pricing. I will continue to use HomeAdvisor in the future and highly recommend them. It's a lot like their TV ads!

Deck power washed and stained. Joe, with Clean Up Time was fantastic to work with. The job was in Hoffman Estates, Illinois and I was in Michigan. He made suggestions on the color and type of stain to use. I went with his suggestions and I couldn't be happier.

Home Advisor advertises they have the homeowner in mind, but in fact they cheat the contractors. When a homeowner requests a contractor, homeadvisor sends the request to 3 or 4 contractors and they all get charged the fee for that lead which could be anywhere from $8 to $40 per lead. whoever gets to the client first gets the lead and te other contractors have to fight to get a refund from that lead they did not get (99% of the time they refuse the refund). They used to be named Service Magic, which did the same shady things. They currently have a class action law suit against them for these exact things. They charge the contractor $300 to sign up and claim they will set up your multiple sites for leads to generate business, but they never did that. The only 2 sites they listed under were 1-800-contractor and homeadvisor.com which are both the same company. I would not advise anyone use this service. Do yourself a favor and make the phone calls and find a local company yourself

Gerald was great! He came out and gave us a price, and that is the price we paid! He showed up when he said he would! That is very important to me. I don't like waiting around for someone to show up! The project was started and completed in a timely manner. In fact, they finished early!! I would recommend Gerald!

I scheduled and cancelled a cleaning service within 24 hours. From what HomeAdvisor sent me in terms of emails, it was very hard for me to figure out how to get in touch with the cleaning service. Turns out the service was cancelled. I thought I'd get my money back. However, HomeAdvisor says I did not cancel on time (72 hours) - I called to cancel on Monday for a Thursday service. I would be a bit less upset if at least the merchant had gotten the $$, as I know they run a small business, but that is not the case. HomeAdvisor is keeping the money. I will never use HomeAdvisor again. Next time I'll get recommendations from my neighbors through the NextDoor App - it's more personable and reliable and at least I'll know that a big company won't cheat me and a merchant out of $228. Augh!

The staff are always polite and professional. On average if I’m working their leads I can close over 60% of the calls I receive. Sure there are the strange calls occasionally and you pay for those too but it’s just how it is. I feel over the years of working with HomeAdvisor it’s been rewarding and a good investment for my advertising dollars.

Home advisor set us up with Precision almost instantly! The Precision tech, Jerry, did an excellent job of explaining our options and showing us which parts should be replaced rather than repaired and why. I was surprised they came on a Sunday even though I had said it wasn't an emergency. The door works so smoothly now and is much quieter. If the other garage door mechanism goes out in the future, I know whom to call.

I went to HomeAdvisor to find a repair person for irrigation. They immediately called with the person I needed to contact. The job was done and the professional was amazing. I will definitely use Homeadvisor again for our needs.

Plugged tub drain. Drain was plugged solid and none of the typical home remedies would work. Dave (Royal Sewer and Drain) was courteous, fair & fast. He responded on my request within half an hour, was on the job within an hour and had the problem corrected in about a half hour. WILL recommend and use his services in the future.

Fix Leaky Water Main Customer Side gate valve - Follow up was ok, borderline excessive, got emails and phone calls, emails are fine - I get enough unsolicited phone calls daily that I almost hung up on her when she called. I initially didn't hear her ID herself as being with HomeAdvisor and almost hung up on her.

My first experience was very poor. I felt like the quality was just ok, but I paid way too high a price for the work. It was not a huge job. They tried to convince me that it was the only way. Since then I have had other plumbers look at the job and said I paid way too much. I sent an email to HomeAdvisor about the situation with no reply.

I was contacted by by HomeAdvisor concerning an appointment they had set for me with a local contractor. The next day I was again contacted and was told the contractor could not keep the appointment due to already being booked. I asked the lady why she set an appointment without checking with the contractor first and she hung up on me. When I called back to ask why she hung up on me she stated I said I did not want to do business with that contractor. I had uneasy feelings about HomeAdvisor from the start but decided to give them a try. Will not ever use them again. They are liars and very shady in their dealings.

Needed our garbage disposal replaced... The HomeAdvisor online wizard is very quick, recommended 3 good options... and I was able to quickly hire and get repair completed. In fact, all 3 recommended companies followed directly up to me. Will definitely use HomeAdvisor again.

HomeAdvisor is the biggest scam. They are thieves. Don’t you dare give them your credit card information!! They stole money from me and continued to try to get more after I cancelled 3 times. They must be in serious financial trouble if they have to steal money from hardworking contractors who made the mistake in trusting this dishonest company! They should be ashamed, but they seem to operate with total impunity! See you in court scam artists!

I will use HomeAdvisor for all my Home repair needs. They do their checks, and the reviews from others help to make a good choice when searching for good professional help around the homestead. I would recommend going to HomeAdvisor 1st, before beginning any project.

Gutter installation - HomeAdvisor had given me a couple of choices for my requested job. The first one was way above my estimate, the second was right on the money and did a great and timely job. Will definitely look at Home Advisor in any of my future endeavors. Highly recommended.

I say satisfactory because of five electrical contractors I requested for a estimate, ONE of the five responded. I don't know if the problem was the contractors or the listings were obsolete or unsubscribed. I find it hard to believe that ONE out of FIVE business wouldn't want to bid on my job. It was a substantial investment from my end ($3,000). I am more inclined to believe Home Advisor's listings are not up to date. Sad for other businesses. They should check into this.

I start receiving e-mails from you within 24 hours wanting to know if I had made my decision on who to hire. Often I haven't even had a chance to think about it. It gets very annoying to constantly receive these e-mails; let me be the one who comes to you.

HomeAdvisor used to be good but I can't use it anymore. I want to use it to choose contractors, but when I contact anybody through HomeAdvisor, my information is sold to other contractors and they contact me. I will still write reviews, but no more requests through them. A contractor just told me he pays a lot for those leads, whether they pan out or not. I find their articles on pricing of projects to be useful, but I think they are generally about 10%-15% low, but maybe there is a regional difference affecting my area. Other similar services operate the same way now.

When contacting the owner, James **, his hesitation should of been my first clue. Getting past that, we scheduled a day and time. He left an email the day of his scheduled visit saying he would not be able to come because a current job was taking too long... Okay, maybe the second clue this guy did not want my business. We then scheduled for the very next day. Mr. ** does not show up or does not even call. When I called him, he like so many other HomeAdvisor vested contractors, had an excuse. Aren't there any contractors that are considerate and exhibit some sort of courtesy. To get my business, KEEP YOUR SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT WITH A PAYING CUSTOMER.

Excellent. Martin the roofer came out and got the job done quickly. This company offered a good price and excellent service. They did not ask for money upfront and they did not ask for payment until the job was completed and tested to make sure it was done correctly. I would highly recommend this company and use them again.

Lawn mowing and trimming - They were very good in all respects, their attention to detail was very professional and I have nothing negative! I could go on and on but it seems very pointless to my way of thinking to say any about them.

I needed some different & difficult work to be done. The Handyman, Mr.Construction; that HomeAdvisor recommend turned out to be just what was called for in my home. I was called by HomeAdvisor asking if I needed any further help. Very nice.

Absolute crooks. Used my credit card to rack up about $1000 worth of bogus claims. I'm going to report to BBB also. Had no business generated except bogus phone calls and was charged various amounts just for a phone call and had no services from the calls. A good way of racking up credit card debt (mine) and would not refund any of the $1000 charges.

Do not trust the reviews on HomeAdvisor -- the contractors pay to be on the site and so if you write a negative review, the contractor can dispute it and HomeAdvisor will side with them because they are their income source. Even after I provided detailed information and objective evidence of my negative experience, HomeAdvisor would not let my review be posted. I used to use them for projects all the time and no longer will!

We have a few small projects that require more than my husband and I can do. I have tried to find someone on your site, but all have said they want to be paid upfront. That is not how I do business. I want to see results before I hand out money.

Fixed Plantation Shutters. Was very happy with my repair. Dennis was onetime and his work was excellent and very professional... Definitely would recommend Dennis to others and he is reliable and knowledgable about his business. Highly recommend this service provider. Home Advisor came to the rescue!!!

I set up a 1:00 PM appointment with Lance, at Hill's Lawn & Grounds Arvada. He never never showed up. I called his answering service and no callback. I emailed his office and no response. I called again and no callback. This is a five-year HomeAdvisor and that is why we called Lance. I'm confused why I never got a callback. When I first called Lance he wanted our business????

I got plenty of responses. The part of the project description needs more choices, there wasn't any category for horse fence or field fence. So I got responses from outfits that had not installed this type of fence. I chose a contractor that had done similar fences before.

When I believed I needed professional service, I contacted Home Advisor by completing a form. I changed my mind and did NOT submit the form, as I used a professional whom I had used previously. Even though I did not submit the form I was contacted by professionals. This was very uncomfortable. My information should not be passed on when a request is not made. The professionals who contacted me after I submitted the form were courteous, knowledgeable and professional. I would try this again, as long as I do not receive calls without a form submittal.

I have had good success with home advisor and find immediate response rate. Typically they are recommended certified companies. Only had 1 company that called but never called back to help with and appointment. Most companies I have had experience with seem to be honest and genuine as they are rated. The businesses have legitimate credentials which makes me feel confident I'm not being taken for. Home Advisor usally provides a few choices which is also providing a few options and not just one company to chose from.

I have only used two services one for A/C service & one for upholstery cleaning. I like that you give the top three, but that there are others you can look at. I made great choices! I also like that there are so many services to choose from. It's everything you need in one place and I like that a lot! It makes it easier for me when I'm trying to get a lot of repairs done to my house.

I have dealt with 3 contractors from HomeAdvisor and am dissatisfied with all of them. One showed up, got details on job, and never responded with a bid. Second one agreed to job, gave me a start date, and never showed. Didn't answer phone calls or texts. Third did work and was decent price & offered 1 year warranty on cracks. Driveway cracked within 8 months of pouring. Called and texted contractor and he never answered. Don't use HomeAdvisor!!

Kitchen Faucet Replacement - HomeAdvisor found just one match for me based on my search criteria, but that find was a good one. Golden Knight called me about a minute after I hit the select button, and we arranged for a visit to fix my water leakage problem that same day.

Through HomeAdvisor I scheduled a cleaning service for my house. The morning of the cleaning (the day before I was hosting an important event) I got a call from a woman who said she was with HomeAdvisor. She was sick and wanted to reschedule. Not only could I not reschedule, I could not book another agency to clean due to the short notice. Things got worse. I called HomeAdvisor and they apologized, but could not find a replacement. They told me to call other businesses in the area to see if they could send someone to help me out. They could not do this for me (and no one from this business ever called me back). Additionally, they could not guarantee the price I was quoted. HomeAdvisor did nothing to resolve the problem. This was my first and only experience. 100% unreliable.

I was contacted by HomeAdvisor to set up a Real Estate Appraiser account. I believe I paid $265 or $285 to get on HomeAdvisor. The sales pitch was great. However, I realized I was being billed an additional fee for every time an individual thought they needed an appraisal which they call a lead. This week a lead was sent to me and when I called to discuss if they needed an appraisal it turned out it was a student just trying to research how much an appraisal would cost. But you will be billed every time this happens and you will not get a refund. I am not sure but I think it is near a 10% rate or less that you will actually receive an appraisal, and the rest are people who think they need an appraisal when they do not for a refinance or some other weird situation. This needs to be reported as something like a scam. If you are a professional who think they may benefit I would pass and just work on getting a website that gets noticed.

Keys were locked in trunk and remote would not open. Extra fob was nonfunctional. Mike was helpful and there was no damage done to the car. What else is there to say? When a business and its owner provide good customer service and you have a satisfied customer there is nothing else than can be enumerated on. I would definitely recommend this business to anyone without hesitation.

ATTN Pro's: When it comes to disputes between Pro's and customers, HomeAdvisor ALWAYS sides with the customer. Any customer can post any defamatory, untrue comment they want about any Pro/business and are not required to demonstrate any proof to support their claim or complaint. Even if the Pro can provide documentation or grounds to why the complaint is invalid, even if you do good work and use contracts, etc., there is a good chance HomeAdvisor will not remove the complaint or bad review from the Pro's profile. They claim to have a review appeals process where you can contest bad reviews, but it is a waste of time or all-together non-existent. They simply will not advocate for the Pro.

Home Advisor connected me with an excellent plumbing company that did a great job for a reasonable price when replacing our water heater! Process was easy, and I chose one of the recommendations. Was very happy with service, price and was a happy customer!

This was perhaps my third project with Home Advisor. I have no issues with contractors that I used. The initial response time in all cases once I detailed what service I required was immediate. My only complaint is having the responses stop once I have chosen a contractor for a given project. A minor issue to be sure.

Someone recently suggested I try HomeAdvisor to find a contractor. When I went online, I only wanted to see what companies were listed, but without my consent HomeAdvisor sent my information out and all the contractors began calling me. I then discovered one of the contractors is not licensed by the city of Chicago, even though on the HA website, it states they are. When I called HA to find out why this would be got a young woman, Angelica, who could not answer and told me to contact the contractor. Since the idea we are going to HA to vet these companies, I felt this was not a sufficient response.

Excellent service and performance. Would highly recommend Kontz; showed up on time, did the little 'extras" at no cost. Employees pleasant, courteous, efficient. Job was left clean. Owner of Kontz was constantly on site. I will be using Kontz again in the future for additional projects.

Sheetrock repair and painting. Provided me an excellent reference in the market where our second home is located. I knew no one to call for the work we needed done. I called the contractor before we left our primary reference and set up a schedule for a site visits and bid. All aspects of the project exceeded my expectations.

Twice I have experienced bad quality and dishonest work from HomeAdvisor's choice of professionals. I hired a painter from HomeAdvisor to paint my house. They sprayed my house with a very thin coat. They missed spots all around entire house and you could still see the color of the old paint. I complained to HomeAdvisor and sent pictures to the painter.

Oil tank removal - The company ADR environmental was top notch. They were professional and very neat. They did a great job and left the site clean and we were able to put the ground cover right back over the filled in hole; Would highly recommend this company.

I joined HomeAdvisor on March 1st, 2019 with the understanding that they would forward me phone numbers for lead. To dated I received 7 phone numbers and not one person on the other end answered to phone. 5 of the numbers ring 7 times and got disconnected. I called to compliance numerous times with promises that they would forward me new leads that were active. The end on March I called to cancel my membership and request a refund, the HomeAdvisor operator told me if I would stay and try one more month he would give me 4 free credits for leads. If it didn’t work out he work refund my membership. Weeks later, I received one more lead, no answer like before. For the last 3 weeks I haven’t received any new phone numbers. What am I paying for? I also forwarded them 20 contact reviews to call. They only called 5. I have come to the conclusion that these are fake numbers and bogus leads. STAY AWAY. Next stop BBB.

I have used HomeAdvisor for a variety of home projects. I've always been totally satisfied with the people they've recommended. The most recent service was a plumbing job. I hired PropertyMedics of Georgia through Home Advisor, and I got excellent work done without any hassle.

I had David ** for painting 2 rooms & for sparkling in the living room after I had a in the wall air conditioner removed... He had a man who specializes in that type of work. After that was done you couldn’t see a variation on the wall at all. David then painted that wall & continued on with 2 other rooms... careful prep. & careful painting... the project was excellent result. I’m having David ** come back in the fall for another project... I’m very pleased.

I Always use Home Advisor to select a professional. Makes finding the right person a breeze. Just put in what you need, follow the prompts, and H.A. shows you several selections for hire. Couldn't be easier, and if you're still in doubt, you can look at other reviews for the pros they offer, and see that their reviews are legit.

We moved into the neighborhood - didn’t know any “handymen”, utilized HomeAdvisor. Right out of the gate, found a great guy and had him over today to mount two TVs. We will be using him and your service again. He was personable, capable and did an excellent job at problem-solving. End result is beautiful!

Used HomeAdvisor to find someone to paint the exterior of my home. Long story short, Bobby from Bobby G's Carpentry in Cranston, RI damaged my siding & didn't completely paint my front & back doors or shed. When he returned to fixed the siding he still couldn't get it right. Had to report him to the contractor's registration board to get him to return in the 1st place. And like I said, he still couldn't get it right. Had to sue his insurance company. HomeAdvisor would not post anything negative about this ex-con. He is indeed an ex-con. This was told to me by Robert ** himself. Forgot to mention, he also broke a front door window.

Water heater repair - Very satisfied every time I have used Home Advisor. The pros recommended are professional, friendly and informative. The job is done in a timely manner and I have found the cost to be fair. Strongly recommend using the Home Advisor service.

Home Advisor was able to put me into contact with several contractors for powerwash of our residence. All responded quickly to my inquiry. The posted reviews were helpful in deciding which contractor to hire for the job. The website is easy to navigate and provides useful information re: the intended project and terms.

The plumber was polite, punctual and very professional. Our toilet was clogged. The issue was resolved quickly and the price was very reasonable. On the second call, He worked very carefully doing delicate work to repair some old kitchen pipes under my sink. He explained that because of the age of the pipes they could crumble and need major repair underneath my house. He knew I was on a fixed income. He hoped to avoid that expense for me. He even had the parts he needed with him. He also shared as he worked that he had experience repairing pipes like mine before. They are copper dating back to the 1950's.

Repair garage door opener. I am pleased and satisfied with the company that was recommended to me by HomeAdvisor. Things worked out this time quite nicely; however, I was expecting to see a list of recommended companies from which I could take my time to select who I would call. Instead, I received a call, which wasn't what I expected.

Provided 4 merchant options. All gave excellent presentations and were professionals. 3 of the 4 suppliers were pretty much in the same ballpark as far as pricing. One was twice as much as the norm... I doubt they get too much business. Final selection was the best and we were very lucky. The installer was very meticulous about his work.

My company joined HomeAdvisor as one of its Pros. The way this works, is we pay for leads based on industry and area. We decided to cancel after a year due to poor leads, and because we cancelled 1 day late, they would not make an exception of any kind, and not refund any of our money. I would have taken a partial refund. Given that they received the annual fee, plus money for leads that never led to real work, we, as a small business, lost a good amount of money with HomeAdvisor. We would not recommend using them as a Service Professional.

I always go to Home Advisor to find contractors. They always have great recommendations, and they have never steered me wrong. Some of the other companies that recommend contractors don't seem to check out the quality of the companies. Home Advisor clearly keeps tabs on the people that they have listed for your area.

Replace Hot Water Heater - Service from Home Advisor was fast and the company they recommended did excellent work in a timely manner. The company contact was helpful and professional. They contacted me on Saturday within 15 minutes of my contact with Home Advisor. The supply house didn't have the heater I needed so I had to wait until Monday. But they were here earlier than scheduled.

Granite counter top - Quick turn around once picked the granite piece we wanted. Installers were very efficient. Demolition of current top, was a mess, but cleaned up well by the guys. Was able to work with a single slab, that made it cost out the best.

Received call immediately and was able to pick service provider from their information and by checking with Better Business Bureau. Callers did not keep calling me back to see if work was done which I appreciated. Was able to pick 3 providers to come and give quote.

I had several leaks over one section of my roof. Roofer discovered several holes because the original roofer had apparently skipped a few steps. The roof is only 9 years old. I am very pleased with the work that has been done.

HomeAdvisor is a good choice for people looking for local services and projects if you are on a tight budget or short on time. But take your time and ask a lot of questions of the contractors that offer those services.

I always check with Home Advisor first before starting a project. I have used Home Advisor often and have always had good results. I will continue to do so as often as I have projects to start and finish. Saves me time and energy and money. I can always check out the reviews and research the companies on my own before deciding who to hire.

I recently contacted HomeAdvisor for an Architect. After completing the requested information, I had been matched with 2-3 in my area. I replied that I wanted quotes from all. Never heard back. I then contacted HomeAdvisor for Home Designers. After completing this requested information, I was matched with 1, whom I again requested a quote, but never heard back. I was then contacted by phone after approximately by HomeAdvisor with follow up on whether I was contacted by the chosen home designer and I told her no. She asked me whether I was still in need of a Home designer and I told her yes, and she said she would email me several other designers. Maybe you can guess what happened. I never received the email from HomeAdvisor. Don't waste your time with "HomeAdvisor"!!!!

Do you know why you don't see the real great contractors on here. Because they charge the contractor an arm and a leg to advertise. Consumer is free. Yes I am a very good contractor and played dumb and said I need a bathroom/remodeling contractor. First they asked too many questions on the site. Yeah. All that information is now sold off to advertising sites. Get ready - there will be a lot of annoying advertising tracking you. Second there are so many good contractors around here including me. When I submitted the info what showed up were contractors 50 miles away, one was actually out of state. Do you actually think that are going to be cheap as that have to add in the travel time. ANGIE'S LIST IS THE SAME. All the commercials are Bull. 1 out of 10 realize that. GOOD LUCK. I'm the Honest One. They are not. Just don't have the Money to tell everyone. From Mark.

He and his technician Brad also came to my home to fix the HDMI cable connection, fix the problem with my keyboard not typing and even set-up my wireless printer! Searched for a AC professional through friends, family and internet. HomeAdvisor seemed to knock it out of the park with their coverage of vendors. Tried it and am very happy with the choice. Friends and family recommended other friends and family, HomeAdvisor recommended a professional and the job is done.

Electrical services - Home Advisor is a good tool to use when you are needing services done. The app is easy to use and FREE! I have used Home Advisor on several projects and have continued to use the contractors they recommended more than once.

Mark was fantastic. I contacted Home Advisor on Monday and Mark called within minutes. He went to our house that same day and found damage from the woodpecker I had not seen. I received his estimate on Tuesday and he completed the work on Wednesday. The job was done so well, with replacing wood, siding and paint, you cannot even tell where the most extensive damage was. I would definitely recommend and would use Marco Construction again.

Annual maintenance for AC. Used HomeAdvisor to find a person to service our ACs. We live on the end of Cape Cod so finding service can be a challenge. A person -- Cape Code Climate Solutions -- was identified and Peter was excellent to work with for the project. His responses were timely and his estimate was accurate. Excellent experience through HomeAdvisor.

I'm sure many have had a much better experience with HomeAdvisor, however, that's not in my case. I'm a real estate developer and I've been using HomeAdvisor for years for practically everything but that is no longer the case. I don't trust the businesses that have been referrals. I have had so many bad experiences that I lost track. I just quit using them altogether. Most of the so called "pros," are just starting out and do work on the side in addition to another job that they hold full time. The real pros don't use HomeAdvisor for leads. It's a great site if you're really in a bind but my advice is to get references. I'm tired of inexperienced guys posing as pros.

Remove an 85 ft red oak, grind stump and haul away all debris and clean up site. Team was very prompt, courteous, and very professional -- price was very competitive. I would use Home Advisor again. Their recommendations were excellent.

Ceiling repair. Repaired hole left by plumber and second area with water stain. Water stain was actually more severe than originally thought. Repair was added at a very reasonable cost. When repairs were completed it was impossible to see where the damage was..

Home Waste Removal - I was amazed when HomeAdvisor came up with a contractor immediately, and when I pressed "call", the contractor answered immediately and gave me a quote over the phone. It was a lot easier than I expected. I will definitely use HomeAdvisor again for any future projects.

HomeAdvisor was great to use in finding someone to make a needed repair. They provided a list of companies with reviews. Different companies then contacted me and I made a decision which one to use. I was very satisfied with the company used. I highly recommend Home Advisor.

Pool maintenance and repair - I've used Home Advisor a few times since my husband died, and I have very pleased with the referrals and recommended businesses! I feel that I can trust Home Advisor for every area of repairs that I might need. I like the ratings system and the feedback from other customers.

House cleaning - Overall a good experience. I would ask for a little more attention to details such as cleaning at the base of the toilets. When dusting, picking items up to dust under them. I did not pay close enough attention until she left, so that was my fault I had a medical procedure done that morning and I was in a great deal of pain. But she was very pleasant to talk to and when I did ask her to do something specific she was very accommodating. I would ask her to come back again.

I have never had to speak with a company like I have this one. We have been using 5 other lead generation companies and never experience anything like this with them. They charged us $800+ In leads we never accepted or contacted. After we already spent $400 in leads that had no success. When signing up for HomeAdvisor the customer representative that I talked to for two hours before joining HomeAdvisor didn’t mention we would be billed for any leads sent regardless if we accept or contact the lead.

HomeAdvisor does a bad job of filtering leads for contractors. The leads I receive are either incomplete in information or for services that I am not listed for. I have to take the time to sort through a number of leads for one that is viable. That means I am spending my time doing HomeAdvisor work. Why should I have to figure out where a homeowner lives, the address should be provided. Why should I have to find out the person is not the actual homeowner. Why should I have to find out a competitor is testing the system. And then I have to take time out again to request a refund. And then have to follow up with a phone call to actually get the refund. The operators are not knowledgeable in the services HomeAdvisor provides. I had to explain many times to an operator what a Designer is, and how it's different from someone mowing a lawn. HomeAdvisor just uses quantity over quality at the expense of the professionals.

The drywall holes were repaired, the texture was a perfect match. I chose to paint it myself. They were courteous and answered all my questions. For any further drywall work, I would certainly recommend Tommy.

Needed HVAC installers in my area. HomeAdvisor supplied me with at least four to choose from. Went with one that was highly rated and was happy with their work. Will use homeadvisor again but also Angie’s list to get the best pool of contractors available.

T.E.A.M Enterprises called first thing next morning, didn't show up to see project, came next day after I called, said they'd be in touch, haven't heard a peep since then, a week ago. Keep Hammering called, came out, sent bid, completed work within a week. So, very pleased with what I ended up with, shame on T.E.A.M.

I have used Home Advisor for many years. Starting this year the number of contacts after searching for a service provider has become ridiculous. I like the service and the providers, but I do not like the constant emails and texts. Knock it off.

Bat Removal - Home Advisor was able to put us in contact with a contractor the same day we submitted our request. We are very happy with the contractor. We do have other projects we need to have addressed and plan to use Home Advisor to assist in finding contractors for these projects.

We had also called for two other contacts about other projects but Central Skylight was the only one who got back to us right away and came out for an assessment view so we gave them the business. We are now looking for other ways to get a couple of other projects done.

Hired 2 companies to install a small show door. They couldn't do it, it was too complicated. Contacted HomeAdvisor, they provided 3 recommendations, we selected MJ. They arrived that afternoon, evaluated the situation and made their recommendations, we could tell they knew what they were doing, we hired them on the spot. They perfectly installed a beautiful shower door, beyond our expectations.

They helped me get multiple quotes and I found a great professional who built a new outlet, hung my TV perfectly, recommended a great sound system, and made everything connect. It looks really awesome and professional. I'd highly recommend using this service.

HomeAdvisor was helpful to introduce a right several companies to me. Although a few of the companies were quite pricey but but none of them charged me for the estimation and finally I could find a company that their price was fair.

Phil’s tree service was professional, thorough, amenable, and willing to please its customer. They did an excellent job and priced it fairly. They trimmed trees, ground the stumps, trimmed a tree, raked the areas, and planted grass seed. There were four workers and one Foreman, JOHN, who oversaw the entire job. He stayed on top of everything and made sure the clean up was complete and I was pleased with the job. I would recommend them to others.
