When I need something done around the house Home Advisor is the first place I go. Always satisfied with the results, the results or pros in my area help me make a decision on whom best to go with. I am very please with this organization.

I really didn’t use HomeAdvisor for my last installation of gutters but a return from a previous job well done. Was so happy with first job. I will continue to have them back & suggest to friends and family. Rain to Shine gutters in Terra Cia Florida. Great job!

Bathroom remodel - Two of the three contractors that came by were serious professionals who knew their job, the community standards, and listened carefully to our ideas and concerns. One of the three might have been a con artist. In the end we were very happy with the contractor we chose, Xanadu Construction and will use them for future projects.

They phony lead they over 300 affiliate that they get their phony leads. Not real customer. They sell contractor at 25 to $75 a phony customers. Don't need service if own business or a contractor. Don't waste your money. Do direct marketing.

Mounting HDTV On A Lanai - HomeAdvisor provided multiple contractors of high quality. It was easy to select one and get the job done. The work was accomplished in a timely and efficient manner. No problems were encountered. The contractor we ended up using did a high quality job that will stand the test of time.

HomeAdvisor will take advantage of your small business. They overcharge you for leads and will not work with you when you dispute charges. You will not get to talk to supervisors, you will get sent to collections. Homeowner do not understand that when they click buttons to get information about jobs, contractors get charged outrageous amounts for the "lead". Save your money, save your time, stay away from this awful company.

HomeAdvisor is a scam company when it comes to the contractor getting connected with leads. HA says they verify the leads which they don't. They charge you for fake leads, don't refund your money and then tell you it's your fault. Avoid. Don't sign up. BTW ask you consumers who think you might be saving a buck, if you would spend a minute and just call some contractors yourself it would be better and cheaper. HA doesn't even verify the contractor. I have had to go behind HA contractors and finish the job after the homeowner got burned and HA is hands off because they just connect people. Their TV commercials say otherwise. Liars and a scam.

Had a small gas leak in the line going to the oven. Wallin Plumbing came out before they were even scheduled to, fixed it in less than 1 hr, and charged me less than I expected. I am one happy customer!

I have three homes in three different states. I have used HomeAdvisor for all three. I am never concerned about the quality of professionals that HomeAdvisor provides. I am given a list of professionals that are near my properties. The companies will call you the same day or you can be transferred to someone immediately when you call or go online. Wonderful!! I need a lock on two interior doors replaced and they completed the job quickly. I was given many choices of vendors, I did contact the vendor recommend and I was very happy with the service. Home Advisor was very helpful and I have been very please using this service and I will also use this service in the future.

I have used Home Advisor for several projects and have been able to find top notch contractors. Less worry that I will end up with a scammer. While the pricing may be a little higher, it's worth it to know you are hiring someone who will do a great job. Will continue to use Home Advisor in the future.

If you have work that needs to be done, you can be at a loss to start finding help. Homeadvisor connects you to the right people to let you make the right choice. Instead of just giving you a list of contacts, they let you describe what you need done and they match you with potential contractors. From there, you can get as many bids as you please.

I contacted Home Advisor to find a connection to have nail pops repaired. I was impressed with how quickly they were able to connect me with the right person. I was able to get the job done the same day and was grateful for that. They connected me with Rick at American Front Line Handyman, he did a fantastic job and I would highly recommend his service as well as Home Advisor.

I am pleased with this program. The only drawback is that there are no business phone numbers for you to contact for the service that you want done. You have to wait for that business to contact you. But overall this is a good program and will continue to use it. Thank you.

***Nut Shell*** Hard, Fast, MISLEADING marketing. Charges for 1 year to setup when they could just as easily charge 1 month to see if the service will work for your business. ($284 year vs $30 for 1 month). Incorrectly setup account to generate leads that do not match your business, thus charging you for each lead when it does not match your services. They do not tell you the requirements that you have to meet to get a lead credited back to your account. Which is call first day and call second day to be eligible. Leads are not vetted, so even exact match leads could be for completely different services your company does not do that you must call day 1 and call day 2 to be eligible for credit back, instead of not charging for the lead because it was incorrectly put into your exact category.

On Feb. 4th, 2019, HomeAdvisor billed my bank account $287.99 which caused an overdraft fee and is preventing me from opening up another bank account unless I do as the banker recommends and pay the charge then dispute it. Instead, I informed the bank to put a hold on my account and am working to clear this up with the bank and challenge the fee. I shared with the bank's fraud team that I canceled HomeAdvisor within a week of signing up after I was lied to. I do disaster restoration and restore water and fire damaged homes.

They only give you 3 days to get your money back not 30 days or even 7 days, they charge you for any leads even if you don't open it or contact the lead. Not good for a small business owner that can't afford the weekly lead payments, ranging from 20-60$ a lead. They will also charge your account on a Saturday so you can't deal with it until Monday. Totally not small business friendly!

Attic insulation - The work team did a great job and were very friendly. They were very efficient and did the work in a timely manner. They took excellent care in protecting furniture and carpeting and did an excellent job in cleaning up.

HomeAdvisor gave me 3 references. 2 gave me bids. I was very happy with their service and with the promptness of their response time was excellent. Your rating system really helps the consumer to know who is the best service provider.

The process for finding a reliable handyman was incredibly easy. I received three calls in one day. I also had two quotes within the same week. The quality of work what I expected and I look forward to using HomeAdvisor for all my future projects.

I was looking for someone who could refinish a bathtub and HomeAdvisor provided list of 3 contractors who did work in my area. I did request a contact, but only one actually contacted me. We used him and were very satisfied with the promptness and the quality of the work.

Bob called promptly, within minutes of submitting my request. He arrived at the time he stated, quickly identified and solved the problem, and his price was reasonable. Very happy to have the problem resolved so quickly and I'd definitely hire him again.

Installation of water treatment system at rental house in NC - I received several pro recommendations and found a company of which I was very pleased. Their customer service and work were great. They have checked on the new system several times and assisted with the water smell by sanitizing the lines and showing our renter how she can do it too.

Foundation Repair - Would not have found this company if we had not checked HomeAdvisor. Even though I thought this company was not local to our area, they traveled and did the job. Glad they were on HomeAdvisor. They lived up to their ratings.

On January 21 received a contractor lead with their company. Called immediately to let the company know that the lead was bogus. The customer service agent agreed and let me know that there will NO CREDIT CARD CHARGE. Of course HomeAdvisor charged the card 4 days later without authorization. When I called HomeAdvisor they were extremely rude and now explained that they DO NOT ISSUE REFUNDS except for use within the company. Manager explained that this is the policy and I can take my complaint to the credit card company. HomeAdvisor uses unscrupulous tactics, are not trustworthy and should not be able to charge consumers via credit cards. DO NOT ASSOCIATE with HOMEADVISOR.

I contracted with HomeCraft Gutter Protection in November to install their system on my house. They in turn contracted with a sub who never finished the job and did not clean up. I have been in touch multiple times with HomeCraft since November asking them to come and complete my project as well as check to make sure the product was installed properly. Many promises, no response. They have been paid in full and did not complete the job. DO NOT USE THIS CONTRACTOR!!!

Replaced baseboard damage for a home about to be sold. Was detailed in every way and very courteous. He figured the job then made good suggestions that ended in a very nice way. If you want the job done right the first time, call Bryan!

This company did an excellent job completing my project (Chimney Sweep and Inspection) in a professional and timely manner. I will call on them again if I need service. TJ was the person who responded and he did a complete inspection and cleaning so that my wood stove can be safely used.

As a contractor, HomeAdvisor is an absolute nightmare. Better just to throw you money in the garbage than waste your time working with this scam organization. Their infrastructure is a disaster. Their website has MULTIPLE pages and buttons that do not work. Their staff is untrained, unqualified, and uninterested in doing anything but upselling you on services that are ineffective and wasteful. Run away from this company. Run fast and far.

Dano's garage door and service were great. They were efficient and reasonable. They did a great job in doing the job and with communications. He was most patient with me as I had many questions. Roof repair - HomeAdvisor is an interesting website. As soon as I put in my query, I had numerous contractors contacting me. I didn't know any of them, so it becomes a process of learning how to interact with them as quickly as possible. But this also helped me get my project (roof repair) completed. I put my trust into HA, that the businesses/contractors that they represent are reputable and trustworthy. They haven't let me down, yet.

We had some windows replaced by Legacy Contracting and that wasn’t perfect, but OK. Mainly it took months to get the 5 to 7 windows replaced, they didn’t protect our carpet and the exterior doesn’t match. Through the years “HomeAdvisor “ has become nothing more than a scam... They advertise everywhere and charge 4 contractors constantly raising “Lead Fees” even if you cannot contact a “lead”. Now the parent company owns HomeAdvisor and Angie's List... I have watched my Angie's List quality of leads turn from great to garbage...just like “HomeAdvisor “ aka Service Magic...

Some of the contractors listed were not the greatest or very reliable. Others were extremely good. It's hit or miss with Home Advisor. The choice of who you use is yours so interview your contractors wisely. One of the contractors listed on HomeAdvisor had a terrible third-party answering service and the contractor never called. HomeAdvisor needs to do a better job of contractor listing.

Kitchen sink, Insinkerator malfunction. I have used this resource a few times last year. Now, needing a plumber quickly, got response in less than 1 hr, 3 respondents, all seem reputable. Tech and company were outstanding. Repaired quickly, reasonable price, good work. Clean, complete and professional work.

I rely a great deal on the customer reviews and have usually been pleasantly surprised by the quality of workmanship available through HomeAdvisor vendors. This past year, I have had painting, flooring, electrical, and roofing projects done. I also found lawn care service. Overall, I have been very pleased. Funny, since most of my friends thinks I am super picky.

I had a bad experience. I contacted the website, to publish my business, Cleaning houses, and they told me on the phone that I would pay $ 288 per year, but I checked my account and deducted from my account $ 514 more after 4 days. I felt injured because the official of the site told me by calling at the time of the payment of 288 dollars that I would pay per year. Told me that there would be no extra expenses. I feel that I was deceived, because I had no work, interview in which they have nothing right, and charged me for the clients that some or interview did not want. They gave up the work.

Tree removal &/or stump removal - I had someone who works for the mobile home park. I live in say HomeAdvisor was a "Big Joke" and don't waste your time. They will send some fly by night joker who doesn't know what they're doing and screw you over. But I had already received 2 estimates and thought the advice they sent me in a email was very useful about how to get everything in writing from estimates to paying with checks or credit card and taking photos while the work was being done, a paper trail to record everything. That way if needed you have proof.

Wired electrical switch to run a portable generator to my home. Gave me good leads to a licensed installer and was very helpful in finding a good one. I would certainly recommend them and use them again. Thank you for your help.

I have previously had positive things to say about HomeAdvisor. However, they called and talked me into listing with them, even though there was not a category for the service I provide. He said that we would add that category once I was set up. That was a lie. Once I went through the channels to find out that they could not fix the issue, I was able to cancel but lost my $283 set up fee that I paid 7 days before.

HomeAdvisor is a complete scam for contractors. They will deceive you and steal your money. You will be constantly bombarded with completely bogus leads and still get charged for them. I was charged 196.00 on my last bill and never got a single job. DO NOT USE HOMEADVISOR IF YOU ARE A CONTRACTOR!!! They wont refund any money. When you ask to turn off your leads they just turn them back on without telling you and send you a bunch of bogus leads before you can turn it back off. Whenever you call someone, they dont answer and their mailbox is always "full" or "not set up". Scam! You would be better off buying your own billboard. Oh yeah and good luck blocking all the new telemarketers that have your number now.

We sought and obtained a quotes for siding replacement. We put 50% down to reserve our installation and order the materials needed. We didn't first check the HomeAdvisor highly rated contractor. Turns out, he has a solid F from BBB and seems to be running some type of scam on unsuspecting applicants (including us).

If you are a small business owner do not use HomeAdvisor!! Not only will they lie to your face, but they will also charge you for leads you do not get. I wish there was a 0 star option. They rope you in with all this talk of getting work, charge you $300 and then when you do not hear from a potential client and ask for a refund they tell you no. And each person you talk to at "customer service" tells you a different reason for why they can't refund it. This company is a scam and I can see why there are multiple lawsuits against them.

Dryer repair - Great experience. Will use Home Advisor again if needed. The company we used was Red's Appliance Repair. They were friendly and professional, and did the repair quickly and well. Cost was reasonable for service performed. Response was very prompt from both Home Advisor and Red's Appliance Repair.

It was awful. I hired someone they recommended. Said background check done, took my money, did not finish the job, sued him. Call HomeAdvisor, "Too bad for you." I did my own check and he had several companies. The license # were way outdated. They refused to do anything.

I signed up as a pro as I am a landscape designer and installer. I was flooded with leads that were completely different from the broad scope of work I do. HomeAdvisor makes you pay for the leads before you ever even make contact with a potential client. In summary, I paid about $600 for signing up as a pro, received unusable leads, and never made a penny. Don't waste your time and money.

Either they did not show up for the scheduled appointment or they were not qualified to do the needed repairs. As a retired Building Inspector I know what to look for when hiring someone to do work in my home and although saving money is important quality work is much more important.

System was not functioning properly. The repair tech diagnosed problem and fixed it. Tested system after repairs to ensure it was working properly. Very satisfied with their responsiveness. Company has dedicated expertise in water softener systems. Will use them again if more work is needed and also refer them to others.

Later in the day my 3 year old son had my phone and was playing around on it. Somehow he must have returned a call that was made by Mr. **. Before I knew it I was receiving a text message that mimicked that of a disgruntled boyfriend stating that he didn't appreciate being hung up on and if I wanted my profile deleted just say so! I was very taken aback because I had not yet returned his call. To my surprise my son had dialed them by mistake.

Then he gave me "lead prices" which were actually HALF of what they charged me for most projects. Then, he NEVER answered his phone or email. They charged me almost $3,000 in 6 weeks! I have been attempting to cancel my account with them for over 4 MONTHS! They are deceitful, evil, and destructive to the professionals who sign up with them. I am glad my law firm will take of this. Horrible company that uses illegal tactics.

They would not let me advertise as a painter even though I fo dba as one. So they try talking me into handyman. I back out. The same day they took $287.99 out of my account when it was cancelled the same day. Then it took 15 days to get my money back and they kept $65 dollars. I finally got that back then they email me saying I'm delinquent on my account 85 dollars and they're sending me to collections. I am pissed. These people are horrible. I owe them nothing now. They're made. They had to return my funds so they're playing fraud games on me. I'm out for them now. WARNING WARNING.

Each time the lead came through I would call immediately and the customer on all 3 occasions said they had already hired someone. How could this be if I called so fast?

However, after confirmation I received additional referrals via calls and emails that in my opinion weren't necessary. The site however was user-friendly.

I have a leaking hole in my roof of my travel trailer and water entering the side of my RV wall... The previous handyman did not cover or seal the hole I paid for since 11/13/2018. He would not show up due to saying it was raining but I still have a hole in the side of my RV that was never fixed today's date 1/4/2019. Water has entered the inside of the RV and wet the insulation and wood so many times, the job needs doing once again. I paid $200 quoted labor, for the hole and leak to be fixed, plus I paid for all materials. I was told the job inside and out would be finished by the 24th of December 2018.

Mike the electrician was very polite, professional and had the parts needed to get my electricity back working. Two breakers were melted behind and a new line that Wolfe electric put in was not tied down. Mike showed me. He said I was lucky my house had not burned down since the breakers were melted in the back where they are connected. Mike showed me everything and let me watch him work. Many workers do not want you to watch them work. Mike was good with me watching and he showed and explained everything before he did any work or replaced anything.

I believe this is the third time I've used HomeAdvisor. Twice for my mom and now for a project I needed done. Great experience. Easy to use. I know a few other people who have used this service and have also had a good experience.

They got me connected with local contractor for a project that I opened. The contractor was extremely rude, overscaled and priced the work, and ended up hanging the phone on me when I showed no interest in working with them. I wrote a feedback for my experience but HomeAdvisor would not publish it just because no work was done. After talking to couple of their "customer feedback" agents, I learned that they are really serving the contractors side, not the consumer, by giving the right to the contractor "not to work with the customer if they don't feel comfortable", based on one of their managers. I would never work something through them again.

My GFI on the porch constantly went off and set off the circuit breaker. He traced the problem, repaired the wiring and installed a new GFI. He checked the circuit breaker and installed a new junction box with outside based wiring. He checked all of the porch outlets to make sure that they all worked after he was finished.

The work was done quickly and efficiently, the price was fair, and we were tickled with the results. I have had a couple of contacts since from the other contractors but have not been bothered or pressured. It was a really good experience going through HomeAdvisor.

Can't believe how they really care about the customer. After the tech left, few hours later on I walk into the room with a lot of spots, notice there is few didn't get clean. Email the company office, and within minutes the office person say when can they get some one out again. With hour I got a new person and go through my four rooms again, redo it all. HomeAdvisor was very prompt in sending me a list of contacts. They followed up with me on the status of my projects and my interaction with the pros. Some pros called to arrange a meeting, and were never seen or heard from again even after I accepted their bid.

Before HomeAdvisor, I wasn't sure where to look for contractors. We have found three good ones in the past year through HomeAdvisor. You can see listings for several contractors and decide which one(s) you want to talk to. HomeAdvisor also makes it possible to keep a record of your projects and the contractors with whom you've worked, which is helpful.

I hired a plumber through HomeAdvisor. They were incompetent, can't even distinguish the basic Hot and Cold alignment on shower faucet, and left me a hole by unnecessarily opening a plate and not know how to put it back on. Then they overcharged me, not even the estimate on the phone for a simple job that took 13 minutes. The problem with HomeAdvisor, when I made a complaint, he said they were just an advertising agency for the professionals; they're not responsible beyond basic background check, reg. bankruptcy or criminal record.

Extended 3rd bay garage drive and installed sidewalk to correct driveway to garage service door on the side and the patio in the backyard. 3 downspouts previously carried water to a splash block on the ground. A trench was dug for all 3 and a plastic line with a pop-up discharge outside of the new sidewalk was installed.

I've found some good pros. Very pleased overall. But very bad experience with movers (Johnny on the Move in August). I contacted HomeAdvisor, called, emailed, opened complaint. Occasionally over the months I'll receive an email or vmail from someone (different person each time). I'll call or contact back the same/next day and never get a live person (vmail or email to nowhere). Once early on I did actually talk to someone but it never went anywhere. I tried to work out with company several times. Done that. They will do nothing despite many, many issues.

I was out of town and discovered that I had water on my floor in the basement. So, I did not know who to call, and I remembered Home Advisor as a resource. So, I called and got the ball to rolling with quotes, and subsequently had someone to come out and repair the problem. It was an emergency and during the New Year's holiday weekend and everyone was off and closed. So, I contracted the plumbing company and they came and fixed the problem and got the water off the floor. Now, I will work with a mitigator to dry out my basement from the water in the walls. I will use Home Advisor for that problem as well. Hopefully, after the mitigator comes and dry out my basement, I should be back to normal in my basement. I am glad I rememebred to call Home Advisor to recitfy my home problem. I will continue to use Home Advisor for all my home needs and problems. They came through this time and I am most appreciative of their work and service.

I have used HomeAdvisor before and have been very pleased with the quality of Pros that have helped me with a project or repair. This time the Pro called me and came on a Sunday evening to fix my heating problem. I will definitely contact the HomeAdvisor for future projects that I need help with.

Very responsive, followed up to make sure I was satisfied. The inspector I chose was excellent. Showed up on time and was easy to work with. He delivered the report as promised. Will use again for additional jobs. Three additional words to meet the stupid quota.

My husband signed up with the company to receive referrals for his business. The salesman was slick and he bought a 1 year subscription. A few months later a charge shows on our credit card for a "help desk". What? We live in a rural area and the only referral we got was a "test" call and that was for a call that was over 3 hours away. We called to cancel the "help desk", no refund of the money, cancelled the subscription that offered no viable referrals- no partial refund. Business owners think long and careful about signing up with this company. Ask for every little charge to be on paper and clarified before giving them over $300 for nothing.

Used Home Advisor many times and satisfied every time. Home Advisor is truly a home repair advisor representing good tradesmen. Price has always been okay while I had a professional doing the work. I feel that I have never been taken advantaged of. Plus, I always have the recourse of complaining to Home Advisor if things didn't work out.

He was prompt, called several times to arrange an appointment around the rain which interfered with the project, gave an accurate estimate, and took the time needed to complete the work completely, cleanly, and professionally. I will recommend Roger to all who need an antenna to avoid the ridiculous cost of cable television. I can receive all the Boston channels I have always wanted and which are not available from cable service in NE CT.

The technician Shawn was on time, he was efficient and solved my electrical issue in no time. Good to know I can call them again if I have an issue. Electrical problems are scary, and I knew from the minute he arrived that the matter was going to get solved.
