I submitted requests for 2 types of trade contractors. I was able to connect with Electricians very fast and easy. I also submitted a request for a Carpenter to fix a door. As yet they have not been able to find one for me. They did follow up on the phone and said they would try again. I haven't heard anything new. HomeAdvisor people were very friendly and helpful and did follow up. Something I very much appreciate, even though they hadn't found anyone they called to let me know they would still work on it.

Matched our needs for a plumber with expert service. There were several follow-ups to ensure that the work was done to our satisfaction. A few more matches were also offered, in case the service was not delivered in a timely manner. I found Home Advisor very useful and prefer it over other similar services on the Web.

Decksidcor Roofing was on the list provided by Home Advisor. This was my first time needing urgent work done on my house. A leaking roof is only going to get worse. Mr. ** came by on 3/5/19 and inspected the trouble spots on gave me a quote. The job was completed today 3/8/19 at a lower price than previously quoted. I am very please.

Home Advisor put me in touch with an Electrician quickly. The work came out exactly as planned. HomeAdvisor made the project very easy. They followed up to make sure everything went well. I will definitely use them again on my next project.

This company will ** your bank account and will not refund any money to you. 99.9% of all leads I call say they do not need my services and that they never were on anything like HomeAdvisor and they don't know how I got their information! SPEND YOUR MARKETING MONEY ELSEWHERE!!! IT IS NOT WORTH IT!!!

I love using Home Advisor for projects. They offer everything you need and you get phone calls immediately after you send a request for a professional for specific projects. I also like that you're given several people/companies to ensure you get more than one quote for prices to ensure you hire the right person for the job.

Temporarily fixed dryer so it could be used and installed the new part immediately upon receipt. Great customer service. Great guy. Very pleasant and polite. Worked fast and was thorough. Gave me his card. I will call on him in the future. He provided excellent communication about project and follow up.

Great recommendation but the communication through Home Advisor was a little awkward. I got a text the day they were supposed to come, but not the day they came. None of the communications I received indicated that the appointment was actually a 2-hour window, so when the person wasn't there exactly at 5 I started to get concerned.

Firstly, we are senior citizens. Shortly after leaving a return call request at Integrity Overhead Door's phone number listed on HomeAdvisor's recommended list, Ryan of Integrity called back within a few minutes. Responding to our urgency to get in our garage that would not open, he arrived within 30 minutes to assess the problem. Instead of opting to replace the complete housing, we agreed that completing the repair with a kit at a fraction of the cost of replacing the complete housing. He discovered the garage door spring that was installed in 2015 was not sufficiently adjusted and would not hold the weight of the door when lifted. The weight of the door could have come down on a car. Ryan tightened the spring, installed the door kit and the door now works like new. He charged a one hour trip charge of $70.00 and $70.00 (inc. tax) for a total of $140.00. Highly recommended!!!

Cutting down a very large tree - Omar stopped by. I knew just by talking with him that he knew his job very well. We came up with a fair price, he said next Thursday and he was on time. I said just drop the tree, we have a lot of land so I leave it for the termites and carpenter ants. They go for the fallen wood and leave my house alone. But Omar is the best no question. Thanks for your great company. I would not have found him.

Twice I have used Home Advisor. Both times, the subcontractors were high quality, timely, and reasonable. In the future, I certainly will start each project with a call to Home Advisor first. My projects were small but treated with importance by Home Advisor.

I run my own business and have little/no time for a clogged drain. On top of that my husband just had major surgery so I needed a quick fix at fair rate and that is what I got. The amount of time it took to look at HomeAdvisor and review 3 great local providers and then get a resolution was less than an hour... BIG WIN for me!

I had received quotes from the High end to a low end of the spectrum. Accurate Asphalt was honest and fair from the start to finish. I was impressed by the fact that the owner and his foreman even pitched in with their workers to perform top notch service. That alone is something I find honorable, “Never ask someone to do what you yourself are not willing to do”. I without a doubt recommend this company and their employees.

House cleaning - Very hard worker. Fast, honest & reliable. It's hard to find someone you can trust. She is very fast and good at what she does. I would highly recommend her. I have been in this town 32 years. She is hard to come by.

Great service! Easy user interface. Straight forward questions to answer directing HomeAdvisor to search for the right type of contractors from which I was able to choose from. The entire process was easy to use from start to finish. Completely satisfied.

There were a number of incidences that would never have me use their service. It started from them talking me into purchasing a new door when only a small part would have resolved my issue to either not showing up for the install to showing up 3 hrs early! 3 Days after the install I incurred problems with the door opener where they told me that there will be a service charge! It was told to me that there was a full warranty for 3 years! I had asked for the owner to call me of which he never did! I had to get another company come to resolve the problem.

I have used Home Advisor before and I so far have had much success. Will continue to use them. They have provided good contacts for all of my projects. All the contractors have been pleasant and on time. I have a very busy day with contractors but I used almost all of my contacts from Home Advisor.

Well tank and switch replacement - I got great help in finding a professional who was available. We had no running water, and so we wanted help fast. She was courteous, easy to understand, and communicated clearly. She got me connected with the right person right away.

Service was almost too good. My only "complaint" is that within minutes I had received calls from three separate companies. It's hard to think straight during the barrage of calls, follow-up calls, text messages and emails. Otherwise, everything was great and I had my issue solved within a couple hours.

I went on to HomeAdvisor to find an electrician. It was easy and quick. They recommended a contractor that performed the work at the agreed upon price on time and they showed up when they said they would. I will use this service again.

I had several shingles come off my 3rd floor roof during a bad wind storm. The service tech matched up the existing shingles, repaired the roof, and then cleaned up all the debris. Even cleaned up some nails that had fallen into the yard. I will definitely use him again.

Be careful using HomeAdvisor unless you enjoy being annoyed with lots of pointless calls that both waste your time and the time of contractors. I wanted to get some bids for work needed on a property in Arizona. However, I live in California. Apparently when I entered my information in HomeAdvisor they used my IP address to determine my location rather than the location information I entered.

Removed old plantings in back yard. Added good soil and rototilled the entire area. Added a new drip system and ambient lighting, Added a new solid surface to grill area and potting table. Cleaned up completely when work was finished.

My sewer line backed up into my basement. I had tree roots growing in the line. My online request to HomeAdvisor and the response time for the plumber to call me to make an appointment for the estimate was about 15-20 minutes. He actually estimated the job over the phone and stuck to his estimate which was several hundred dollars less than other companies I called. He was fast and efficient, and clean. I'd call him again without hesitation.

Looked at many contractors, decided to look at HomeAdvisor. Contractor I decided on had positive responses and the responses I read were in line with what I was looking for. Will look at Home Advisor in the future for sure.

When my washing machine broke down I was at a loss. I found using HomeAdvisor was a quick and easy way to find a repairman. I was contacted immediately and the repair company was prompt and proficient. I was very satisfied. HomeAdvisor came to the rescue!

This website referred me to the same contractor 3 times, showing a map with them at 3 different locations. Before I could finish reading the results for insulation contractors, the phone rang. I live 20 minutes from Chattanooga and this man comes from over an hour away. The site immediately sends 3 "estimates" of job based on minimal input from me as to scope of job. Then, when called, the customer service sent me another contractor name in Chattanooga, but the number was not in working order. Something bogus about this, so follow the money. Contractors pay for any leads they get. So, what is HA incentive to turn anyone down? I do not trust this site to adequately screen contractors and would not recommend them to anyone, I have wasted an hour this AM on very little credible referrals.

I have used HomeAdvisors for many projects at my home and they seem to be great. As a homeowner the reviews are very important to me. I read them and weed out the people who are angry about something vs the people that had a good experience. I wish there was a rating system that HA could provide in addition to the reviews.

I feel safe to use HomeAdvisor, as the companies that usually come through them are reliable, tried and tested, and you are able to read reviews online before hiring a company. Response time is great, and usually reasonable. We have done about 3 odd projects with them and have never been disappointed.

Were very professional from first meeting to completed job. They worked hard and efficiently to remove large tree, grind down stump and roots, hauled all debris away and left area looking neat and clean. Reasonably priced. A true blessing to work with such professionals.

Hired Jason **. He called with in an hour of my inquiry on HomeAdvisor. I was very surprised by Jason calling so quickly after my online inquiry. Jason is very professional. I talked to Jason on Friday and he was at my home on Saturday morning to spray and fertilize my yard.

This is the second time that I’ve used HomeAdvisor. In both instances, at least one contractor responded within two hours of my posting. The contractors that we selected were highly professional, courteous, and quite competent. HomeAdvisor takes a out of guesswork out of the selection process.

Greg removed old damaged sheetrock, replaced with new board, taped, Spackled and sanded ceiling, then primed and painted bathroom ceiling. He also installed light fixtures and changed an old light switch. He was very professional, and I look forward to hiring him again to remove a section of kitchen wall.

Danny was on-time (actually, he called to say he would be early, so I was ready for him). He explained what he planned to do, as well as what he could not do because of the snow that we have on the ground today. After his exterior work, he told me about what he had found. I told him that I had found a wasp nest on the 2nd floor balcony, and had sprayed it last year. He came up and removed it for us. Danny was very professional, but he was also super-cool to talk to about hobbies, our cat, and all sorts of other stuff. We enjoyed chatting with him! Not to mention, he gave me a little education about the various pests that he found evidence of. This is our first visit from Wolfco, and I am SO glad that we left our previous pest control company. Your service is much more thorough and nice!

I've used Home Advisor more than once. After filling the info needed I've received phone calls right away. Very surprised that the people I was looking for called so fast. That is one of the reasons I keep using Home Advisor.

I have a (small) outdoor patio project. I enlisted help to locate local business referrals to aide me with a rainwater drainage problem. I provided a detailed project description of what the problem is, and the contractor referral business put me in touch with HomeAdvisor in my local area. HomeAdvisor responded quickly and provided me with 4 local businesses that provide the services.

Replacement Doors - I was extremely happy with this service. I was directed to a licensed professional who got back to me in a very timely manner, completed the job within a week of my receiving the estimate, and was very easy to work with. I will definitely use HomeAdvisor for my next contracting job.

Needed snow removal. It was Sunday and I really didn’t think I would be connected to a representative, but I was. The person was very nice, courteous and professional. She explained what the next step was and in a little, I received a call from the contractor. I am very pleased with Home Advisor, and have recommended them to others.

I used HomeAdvisor to recommend a tree removal service. They recommended Shiloh Land Management. Todd contacted me early the next day and we arranged a meeting time to view the trees to remove. He was on time and provided a quote the next day as promised. His pricing was unbeatable. We agreed on a date and time for removal and they showed up at exactly the time agreed to. By the end of the day, the two monstrous trees were gone. They cleaned up as if they had not been there. I would highly recommend their service based on my experience.

My go-to for home repairs. Needed service for furnace on a Saturday night. Went to Home Advisor to find a repairman and within 2 hours, the work was done. Tile and grout cleaning - I was contacted by Grout Busters right away. Scheduled an appointment for an estimate. Accepted the estimate the same day and the work was performed the following day. I really like how quickly it all flowed. I was very happy with the recommendation plus a couple additional should I have needed a second bid.

They came out same day, replaced our broken spring at a very reasonable price. Nice people, good job!! Another company came out earlier. Had given us an est of $279.00 over the phone but wanted to charge us $530! We sent them away. This company that came out same day charged us $270. Big difference.

HomeAdvisor needs to check out companies before putting their name out. 3 Day Remolding are cheating people, and not doing the jobs that they get contracts on and then telling the customer they are broke and can't do the job or return their money. Do a better job HomeAdvisor.

As the secretary for my husband's part-time construction company I signed him up for the HomeAdvisor Pro app. When he got home he called and signed up for their advertising-the Agent made sure to let my husband know we were going to be charged the annual fee of roughly 200 and that we would be charged a fee for every lead we took, that Home Advisor Pro got us. What the agent failed to mention that if we even accepted (that means listen to or try to connect with a person through them to see what job they wanted done) we would be charged for it every single time (even if we didn't get the job or accept the job offer), insert here a 400 charge before we even realized it.

Home Advisor has referred me to roofing contractors, tile regrout specialist and an electrician. I have been pleased with the choices they offered and I have been pleased with the selections I have made. I feel confident that the vendors are reliable because of the screening they have to go through.

Vinyl Repair - I had heavy winds that ripped off my siding over the garage door. I found M & M Construction on their site, saw that that they were close to where I lived, and they did a wonder job. I found all the pieces that were ripped off and they repaired it like new.

HomeAdvisor was great. I looked up pump repair people in my area and Chance from Sierra Nevada Drilling called me within an hour and was on his way to help. They gave me a great price and worked until we had water again.

Landscape Design and Installation - A couple companies never called. I ended up getting estimates from three. The one I initially chose because I liked his design was a very poor communicator and a little short with me. He emailed me the morning he was supposed to be here and said he'd pulled a muscle the day before and couldn't make it. Since I had not heard from him in several days and had sent him an email confirming the date, I expected he would have called me the day he pulled the muscle instead of the day after. But in retrospect, I was more pleased with the people I hired (T&M Landscaping); they were better communicators, reliable, and while they charged a bit more, it was absolutely worth it.

Same day apt., polite and on time technician... identified issues quickly and proposed solution... follow up work next day... more than pleased with the results. AC needed maintenance but duct were problematic. Home Advisor recommends top people who have been reviewed by others and are completely reliable... excellent service.

Repairs on exterior trim of House - The Experience overall was good except I had two handyman that one did not show up for appointment and the other came out but took a week to get me a price on the job. The one I hired responded quickly and we got the job quoted and done in a short period of time.

Home Advisor is my go-to place for hiring service businesses such as house cleaning; yard work; window washing; tree trimming, etc. I have hired several people through Home Advisor and even when I had a problem with a couple of them, Home Advisor listened and, together we found someone else. Problems have been few but satisfaction has been tremendous. I will continue to use Home Advisor in the future.

Septic tank clean out - An operator answered phone professionally. After a few short minutes, they went the extra mile to find someone quickly for my emergency. I've never used Home Advisor before, but I will use it and highly recommend it for my family, friends, and neighbors.

Chimney repair and some roofing repair - I went online to Home Advisor and received an immediate response. After speaking with the recommended company we made an appointment with Best Choice Roofing. They came the next day at the appointed time and did the repair work promptly and efficiently. The cost was reasonable and I am very pleased with the entire experience. I did email another service provider company and they did not call me back until 3 hours after the work had been completed.

HomeAdvisor was a great help in finding a contractor for our project (garage construction), after a short survey, I received a call within 1/2 hour and things began to happen. The app was tied into Better Business Bureau and with that, it made the process easy.

The contractor was top notch and not some flake I may have gotten from the local listings. I wasn't flooded with sales calls after the fact either, which was a concern I had. Contractor removed existing sod with sod cutter, dug holes for irrigation system along with connecting with the water main (for my property), ran conduit for power and control of sprinklers and installed RainBird Panel (which plugs into AC). I did have to get a different outdoor Bubble receptacle cover.

We were very pleased with the service person. He was on-time, knowledgeable, and fair with pricing. We had a couple of conflicts with work and we connected on the phone several times to be accommodating with our schedules. Having just moved to the area from out of state, I had no real way of determining the good from the bad electrical contractors. Home Advisor took that job away (and did an excellent job with recommendations) and allowed me to concentrate on the actual job that needed to be completed.

It offers plenty of information about professionals in the local area - customer reviews, services offered and price range for projects.

My only dislike of using HomeAdvisor was that some of the contacts that reached out were overly pushy and disingenuous. One company contacted me with a very high quote and when I said I would get back to him he insisted I wouldn't find anyone who would do it cheaper. But overall, what a great way to find local help and supporting small businesses in my area.

One service person did a great job, the other two were terrible. One did a bait and switch, then the following year when I had a problem with the new gate he installed, he emailed me back he was out of business. The third person they recommended for a third project had follow-through. Terrible. I am now using Checkbook for Puget Sound and very happy. I pay a small subscription price. HomeAdvisor charged the man who did a great job wall guy a $90 fee for the lead. I was not happy to hear that and will not participate in a company that gauges small local business people.

The Home Advisor online checklist was very effective and resulted in a referral to a very skilled and professional plumbing contractor who responded the same day which happened to be a holiday weekend Sunday! I am very satisfied with the service!

I received immediate response and professional, friendly, reliable, ethical and honest service from the contractor. He provided me with options and cost estimates.

The company who helped us was Absolute Waste Management. The appointment was made for the day after I called, which I found amazing, and JUST what we needed. Replacement furniture is arriving tomorrow. We had a broken recliner loveseat and totally worn out recliner sofa we could not move ourselves (both in our 60's). Thank you for hauling off our junk!

I was able to hire quickly a very competent professional for our house cleaning project. I was able to have two pros estimate costs and everything went very smoothly. I turn to HomeAdvisor for all project hiring's and have always had great success.

I don’t bother rummaging through the phone book, or scouring through Google results for a service provider to fix my latest home maintenance issue. I don’t need to. I just go to HomeAdvisor, and I know I’ll get a local, licensed, quality, professional service provider at a price which can’t be beat. In every instance, the professionals recommended to me by HomeAdvisor have been top notch, so why waste my energy and time with phone books and Google searches, when I can just fill out a little form on HomeAdvisor, and be connected to the right company within minutes? Emergency roof repair. First damage occurred at 12:30 am on Sunday. Used HomeAdvisor at 12:35. Had contractor contacts by 8:30 am. Bids by 4:30 pm from 2 contractors. Work completed by Tuesday afternoon. Would have hired either recommended roofer but only needed one. Flipped a coin. Very positive experience. Thank you HomeAdvisor.

The job required superior knowledge of pumps and plumbing systems to replace 1.5 Hp water pump for home. HomeAdvisor provided two companies in my area to do work. Both appeared Experienced and knowledgeable. I will use HomeAdvisor again to assist with the selection of contractors to complete home projects.

The company rep. was honest and forthright and made recommendations for us to consider, both for his company and for us to consider. He checked all rooms including the attic and the garage. He was very good in making sure at the end, to ask us if we had any questions that he answered without out a doubt.

Great reference and helpful in getting my patio project done. I never start a project without using Home Advisor. HCF was the contractor recommended and they were honest, fair, and did good work. I will recommend Home Advisor to all my friends and family who has any projects or jobs that need to be done by a competent pro.

I am an electrical contractor, and I tried HomeAdvisor because they seemed honest on the phone. Well as soon as I signed up, and paid the sign-up fee, I would receive 5-10 phone calls from other small companies who offer marketing and leads! I spend half my day now answering fake leads and telemarketing and I regret signing up with them so much! They also add services that have nothing to do with your services offered (example: They put down that I am a handyman and a fence installer, when all I do is electrical work). If you are starting out, I recommend trying any other marketing/leads company other than HomeAdvisor. PS : They refuse to give any type of refund once you have signed up. I have all documentation to prove all the phone calls and that I the representative who signed me up, did not sign me up for services I wanted.

I had a very negative experience with a HomeAdvisor Professional and wrote a scathing review. The professional argued to have the review removed and HomeAdvisor removed it. I then provided HomeAdvisor with all the details to support my negative review, as well as documentation to support the accuracy of the review. HomeAdvisor then stated they concurred and would put the review back up on the site immediately. That was 3 weeks ago and the review is still not on HomeAdvisor. DO NOT TRUST HOMEADVISOR'S REVIEWS, they are NOT accurate!!!

Was able to easily provide my project info and got back a list that matched my criteria. Easy to use and was able to contact contractors directly from the site. Was responded to quickly by the contractor and communication was easy.

We appreciate that reviews were sincere and honest. Glad that there were no fees like some other sites. We did receive a few adds after we had already selected a company and indicated as such, but they were just trying to make sure we were informed about our options. Thanks.

We have now used Home Advisor to build a fence, pave a driveway with other concrete work, fix gutters, and hire a handyman. I can't believe how great everyone has been. We went with a word of the mouth recommendation recently and it was a mess. I feel like if you hire on Home Advisor, it is such a public venue, the professionals know they could be judged online easily. We have had the best luck with this service.

We visited HomeAdvisor to find a reputable home cleaner. We found two, interviewed them, had them walk our house and each provide quotes. We went with the one that seemed more detail oriented (despite being higher priced) - we relied on the HomeAdvisor rating in selecting the two. We then scheduled the cleaner. The cleaner exceeded their time to clean by 3 times and still did not finish - instead they insisted on cash payment including reimbursement for their HomeAdvisor listing fee. They said they needed the payment because of one of their crew was leaving. We went upstairs, came down and they were gone. They literally sneaked out of our house. We contacted them to finish the third of the house they didn't finish and it was excuse after excuse after excuse.

The flooring contractor work went very well. The electrical contractor wanted $150 for an estimate to put in under-cabinet lights in kitchen. Another contractor wanted $990 to install 5 light fixtures under the kitchen cabinets. Decided to do it myself for $140 with kits from Home Depot.

I have hired two contractors through HomeAdvisor - one for lawn care and one for handyman services. Both have exceeded my expectations and turned into service providers that I have continued to use and recommended to friends and family.

Needed to change 2 springs on my garage door. The repairman came as promised. The cost was greater than I expected. I would suggest that Home Advisor give you a list of repair people to choose from. I was overwhelmed as a fist time user but I would be better prepared next time.

We looked for a company to re-paint the entire inside of our 2400 sq ft. home (estimated 2000 ft. for painting). We wanted all ceilings, walls, doors and trim painted using 3 colors (a ceiling color, doors and trim color, and a wall color). HomeAdvisor initially provided 3 contacts. One scheduled an appointment to provide an estimate but didn't show up. They re-scheduled and didn't show up again! Another company declined to bid (too busy). The third company came, did a thorough job measuring for an estimate, and provided a fair quote. We contracted with them and were satisfied with the company and the results.

Tired of logging in. It's not just HomeAdvisor but everywhere here on the internet. Driving me nuts that you can't do anything without logging in. Really don't find it appropriate to have to share my information with anyone and everyone!!!

Home Inspectors let it be known it is hard to get your money back from HomeAdvisor, and I am not sure how many of the leads are legit. I actually lose money with them, but they get theirs. Very I get leads that do not pertain to me. I get homeowners telling me they did not want a call from any company and hang up on me. I do not get my money back on that lead. They send an email and say, “Unfortunately we could not replace the lead.” No they do not make sure the leads are real. Just send and collect the money. They also send to more than the 3 contractor limit. This is getting old and I will be cutting them loose very soon. Good luck my friends.

When I made complaints about the contractor, this was their response. The contractors pay them to advertise. If you write a bad review about the contractor, and the contractor disputes, the bad review is removed.

I went online and notified HomeAdvisor I needed estimates for gutter guards. I was notified by email within a few hours with the three companies to choose from. My wife and I selected Leaf Filter. The installation was done well, and the price for the work fit into our budget. We are awaiting the first sustained rain to see if the system works as advertised. I will definitely used HomeAdvisor again for other home projects.

We had two stumps that needed to be ground down and removed to prepare for replacement trees. One was the result of a storm less than six months ago and required a fair amount of chainsaw work prior to the actual grinding. It has solid surface roots that were close to a foot in diameter. The second stump, while a larger diameter had deteriorated much on its own and we had it well prepped before arrival. Contact was made immediately via HomeAdvisor phone initiating service. A few hours later on the same day the worker arrived to review and bid the job. The job was completed in less than 2 hours. My wife and I were very satisfied. I definitely would recommend HomeAdvisor to friends.

Fax, printer scanner help and pc repair at my office after a new 4 in one fax etc was purchased. Had him come over and set up the wifi, and work on my desk top pc, set up the drivers, etc and clean out my computer that had a lot of junk in it that was slowing it down. Was a good experience.

Roof repair - The site was easy to use. After selecting the problem I was immediately given the top three companies for my area. These companies immediately received notifications of my interest. Two responded with 1 hour, the third the next morning. Overall experience with Home Advisor was excellent.

Jones Landscape Solutions showed up on time, removed the stump (that was in the way of the new fence being installed), and priced the job very reasonably. The turn around time from initial contact on the phone to job completion was less than 14 hours. True customer service and satisfaction from Jones Landscape Solutions. It took him less than an hour to remove the stump. Job well done!

First, I am amazed that this company has such high ratings. And I wonder how many of these reviews are even legitimate. Here is the facts that I experienced with HomeAdvisor. I'm a contractor. So they hounded me for ever so long to join up with them. Finally, I decided to give it a try, not that I really needed their service. But I discovered when I started to sign up, that there was much more to it than just paying a certain member fee, which was plenty high in itself. They also charge a percentage fee for every potential customer they refer to me. Whether it's a good lead or not. At that time, I decided I was not interested.

They were fast, clean, and up to speed on current tastes and products... and they knew how to work with stock cabinets. They came on time, surveyed the project (small kitchen remodeling), made suggestions, listened to what we had to say, and just got on with it.

Was provided 2 choices. The first wouldn't return my calls and the second, Boys Electric, bid $4500 and charged me 75 for the bid. Bid seemed high and got several other bids on my own. No others charged for a bid. Got it done for 2400 and they did a great job. HomeAdvisor was useless and cost me time and money.

Repairs to siding under porch - I have already spoke with them about another project. I will recommend them and will probably use them again when I need a project done. I went online and found JP Contractors, the recommendations were to give high so I asked them to call. Michael called and was here by noon to give an estimate and repairs were completed by end of the day.

Needed two failing sewage pumps in outdoor lift station replaced and possible reasons for failure and additional issues diagnosed. Required experienced plumber with years experience and not just recent hire with technical knowledge only. Also they helped with locating cleanout yard sewer line, checking street sewer to see if full pipe could be an issue.

I especially appreciated reading the reviews and having the information available to contact them myself. I had a short time frame and being able to talk to the contractor and expedite the whole thing was most helpful. There were a lot of choices available with differing areas of expertise that made my decisions easier.

Home Advisor had listed a 5-star Fence Contractor. I contacted them, hired them for the fence installation, and was very happy with the results. They contractor earned their 5-star status. Home Advisor checked in with me before and after the installation regarding the progress and my satisfaction.

I was referred a contractor who is registered as one name and then signing contracts as another. I called with a complaint and the customer service told me they do not handle complaints. I think this guy has lawsuits and he is stating he is qualified to work hardwood floors yet he is not. HomeAdvisor only wants money from these contractors. They don't care if they have good or bad reviews, they don't care if they won't honor warranties. Stay away from this group. I called many times and emailed. No one has ever returned a phone call. Simply says they don't give a care about contractors they refer who are frauds.

I have used HomeAdvisor or 2 referrals and they were both outstanding. Reasonably priced and knowledgeable trustworthy vendors both times. I had a plumber and a general repairman who were able to resolve my heating issue and repair my fence.

I previously used HomeAdvisor to hire a plumber with good results. This time I needed an Electrician so I went through the same process through HomeAdvisor. I was not disappointed with the results. I hire the first quoted Electrician company that called and they were professional and prompted.

I needed somebody on the same day to repair our garage door, with broken springs - and other items that needed repairing. They gave us good recommendations - the repairman was here within the hour and fixed everything for a great price in 1 hour. I'm very pleased.

Home inspector reach out immediately and he was very professional. He was knowledgeable and explained what he was doing. Received report the next day and I was able to call the inspector for any question that I may have had. Call with question and the inspector was able to talk with me with no problem.

The company I went with, Aire Serve exceeded my expectations on the work that they did. I am glad that HomeAdvisor is available to help with that leg work and give direction on where to go when you need work done.

A bit expensive... However, the technician was very knowledgeable and arrived as scheduled and the dryer was repaired within an hour and a half... Hopefully, the dryer will last for many years to come. I would recommend this service provider and will use then again if the need arises.

We had a huge maple with dry rot at the base removed. This took some finesse as the largest branch hung over our garage. The tree was removed in the time, manner and cost specified. Very professional, efficient company. The owner is a certified arborist and very knowledgeable re: pruning and removal options.

It is very difficult to find truly professional and trustworthy people. I found this to be truth when hiring a handyman. Had I not used Home Advisor I would not have found exactly what I needed. I will use Home Advisor again if the need arises.

I'm reviewing as a contractor on HomeAdvisor. They are full of fake leads, with inaccurate contact info. We would receive leads with obviously false contact info. We contacted them about this and they did not know how we got the lead. They charged us and would not refund it. I decided to test the system and entered false info, and it would not let my request go through. So in my opinion, I think that their employees are putting false leads in the system. Maybe they get a kick back from it. So in summary, they are a waste of time, money, and energy. I get more business from our website than we do from HomeAdvisor.

Someone has to put a stop to this website. HomeAdvisor is nothing but thieves. How can they send contractors to people houses taking money they worked for to make a better home and they never do a background check on the contractor. Even one star is a lot to give them. Nothing but a scammers. They should be stopped right now. Where is the consumer protection? And if the BBB is supposed to be a source for consumer protection, why are HomeAdvisor still in business with all these extremely poor reviews?

I was a former HomeAdvisor customer 1 year ago and never got much business because of some many other contractors bidding on the same work. In addition you would pay a high dollar to accept a lead that most often the customer was not ready for work to be done. These leads were not vetted out. I opted out and lost money after 6 months. HomeAdvisor called me recently and offered me 150 leads free to get me back. But they never give me the free leads. They didn’t set up my account correctly. And the CSR was horrible. I never got off the ground. But they took my money for activating my account again. After several weeks of HomeAdvisor not getting my account set up, not providing the 150 free leads promised and truly horrible customer service. I gave up. Shame on me for trying to give them a second chance. They also will not give back $287 for the startup account activation fee. Stay away. Don’t get involved. You will lose money.

Painting outside of House - Advertised to six painters, only replied. Used him, did great job. Don't know why only one response received from contractors. Despite that would use service again if needed. Nakai Painting, Jerry, did great job. Work was completed in timely manner. Happy with service.

We worked with HomeAdvisor as one of their pros 2 years ago. We spent more on wasteful leads then we made in actual work. They convinced us this year to try again and here is the list of items they did to waste our time. Did not return calls when the leads came in and they were wrong. When I finally got someone on the phone she said we had 400 leads but only 6 had come to us. She also said we were set up to receive leads from 3 states - we requested 10 specific zip code, not 3 states. They charged us 287.99 for leads that were wrong. They promised 100 free leads - did not get that. Set up our user name as someone we never heard of. I do not recommend them at all!

I will be using them again for future projects. I'm sure I'll get the same great results, I would recommend HomeAdvisor to friends and family. Seeing they get paid to list contractors, they refuse to allow me to submit a negative comment. I truly had a very bad experience with a contractor. Spoke with HomeAdvisor about it. They said the contractor said he never did any work for me. I submitted all the proof they asked for and still nothing. Sad that other people have to deal with the same crooks they recommend.

I was a HomeAdvisor pro and was not able to get any refunds that I was due. They said that they were for leads that were false leads. And also charged me for leads that I never accepted. It works very rarely but overall they were scamming me and overcharging.

They recommend very reliable People. I was very satisfied with the AC people that I hired to do my air-conditioning work. Very reliable and honest and trustworthy. This air supply company that I used I paid them in full because my wife and I were working and my daughter was here to oversee the work so I had to pay them on my credit card. They gave me a bill that’s it paid in full and do you said they would be back Saturday to do the work and believe it or not they were. They came Saturday morning around 10:00 and finish around 3:30. Good work. Very happy. Thank you Air Supply.

My experience with HomeAdvisor has been so-so at best. Surprisingly, many highly rated professionals were so unprofessional or expensive so I was forced to keep looking. Others were super-professional and I still use them. The site management would be wise to screen their professionals a little more.

I had an after-hours plumbing emergency. I received help very quickly. I'm very pleased. I had a water extraction company here to pump the water out of my basement and couldn’t get to their next client until I could get a new sump pump in because water was literally pouring into the sump pump hole. I think the people who needed the water extractors after me appreciated the prompt service I received, too.

I am a retired government worker and I maintain a single family home built in the 1940s. Needless to say, repairs on this house takes very knowledgable individuals and I have never had a bad recommendation so far. Texas Appliance Repairman answered my request for service within two minutes. He told me he could come to my home the same day between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.. He promptly arrived within the time he said and immediately got to work. He found the problem right away. He noticed that the problem was minor, he fixed it and stated that since the repair was nominal, so was the fee -- in fact, he said, "No need to charge you for unnecessary parts, when all you need to do is clean this and that... and be done." Within a few minutes, the microwave that had been broken for a few days was working. My husband and I are very happy with his work, price and attitude. I will certainly call Texas Appliance Repair again if another appliance goes on the fritz! Thank you!

Made finding a good and qualified plumber very quick and easy. The repair was completely finished less than 20 hours after the problem occurred. That included the time it took to pull up the HomeAdvisor website.

I didn't find these people thru Home Advisor. My only experience with Home Advisor was with a prior job where FedEx ran over my mailbox, my fencing and my yard. I went into Home Advisor to find a person who could fix all the problems but, as soon as I said fencing in my description. It popped me into fencing contractors. Very restrictive!!! That and your backwards rating choices are a problem.

He called us within 5 minutes of the request and did a great job. This is my first time using Home Advisor and it worked perfectly. The worker that came out was very nice and did more than what he charged us for.

I used HomeAdvisor for four different projects. They had a rewards program that once you completed three projects through them and gave reviews on those companies that you would get a $50 check. I completed mine in September 2018 and they said they would be sending me a check. No check. Finally discovered that they canceled the rewards program and if you didn't contact them by October 31, 2018 you were SOL.

I had a previous repairman tell me that this washer needed a 200 dollar repair job. The fix involved merely an adjustment to the level of the washing machine... He could have charged me for an unnecessary repair that I would have been unaware of. This repairman is above all, honest and trustworthy.

Removal of sofa and Love seat. While there were 3 companies that responded - only 1 returned my calls and that is the company I went with. Not sure why you would be listed if you are not interested in my business. Perhaps it was not a big enough job. If that is the case, it would be useful to know what the scope of work is before I waste my time reaching out. I was specific on what I wanted done.

The company makes a big selling point of being free to the customers but doesn't tell them that it charges a fee to the contractors for every call whether they get the job or not. I was charged for multiple calls for services not related to my business. The company would not remove these charges after I brought this fact to their attention so I stopped using this service. And yes, my profile and information was accurate for my business but that did not stop HomeAdvisor from charging me anyway. For me this was a total scam.

We are renovating a home to sell. Thus far, the electrician and arborist hired have been excellent. We will continue to search for contractors using HomeAdvisor. The reviews we have referenced on Home Advisor have been accurate to our experience. Thank you.

Contacted HomeAdvisor about a pergola project. Entered all my contact info and waited, and waited, nothing. Finally got a call from their office in Charlotte wanting to know how my project was going. Told them not one call. The man apologized and assured me someone would call within 24 hours. That was 5 days ago. Nothing. Done with HomeAdvisor.

Needed bath/shower water control device repaired. The device was difficult to turn on, in using shower... Also water temperature control was reversed, perhaps from prior repair. The device was not functioning as designed due to calcium build up from hard community water. The plumber had to replace device with new plastic unit and issues were resolved with repair.

Though always polite, I could do with a few less contacts from HomeAdvisor about projects I'm researching for planning and budget information. I know when I'm ready to do a project, who I've contacted and have contacted me. I don't need repeated contacts.

HomeAdvisor referred flooring contractor, they came into my home and destroyed it. I informed Home Advisor and they have been giving me the runaround. I now have to hire a lawyer, I am totally out of money. I've been told by other contractors that all the flooring that was installed now has to be taken up and disposed of and all new materials have to be purchased. I am a senior living on a fixed income, I do not have another $6,750 to start over with. Oh, by the way they destroyed one of my ceilings, that has to be replaced. There are closet doors, baseboards, severed home security lines that had to be replaced. I am contacting the attorney general's office, because this has gone on way too long, I need help!!!

Trash removal - Yard debris, construction debris and trash was removed in a very efficient manner at a very reasonable cost. These guys were polite, professional and very out going. It took them less than two hours to complete the job. The weather was not ideal as it drizzled the rain the entire time. The equipment they used was top notch.

Wade from Oasis Plumbing was wonderful, he ran to 2 Home Depots to find the part that was missing out of the Faucet Box I bought. When he left it was like he was never there, He cleaned up and I have a new faucet.

I decided to try HomeAdvisor to help me locate a trustworthy lawn care company. The one they recommended said "We are a full service lawn and landscaping company who takes great pride in the quality of our work and guarantees customer satisfaction." However, when there was a problem and I complained, the lawn company said that they were ending their relationship with me, would not finish the job, and would not refund my money. Apparently companies can write whatever they want on the site and there is no accountability. Beware!

I tried to give an honest review on a pro whom I hired that was underhanded and spiteful about his character as well as his skill to possibly help someone else in the future and they swept it under the rug to protect their own interests... I will never use their services again due to their untrustworthiness.
