I always go to Home Advisor to find contractors. They always have great recommendations, and they have never steered me wrong. Some of the other companies that recommend contractors don't seem to check out the quality of the companies. Home Advisor clearly keeps tabs on the people that they have listed for your area.

Replace Hot Water Heater - Service from Home Advisor was fast and the company they recommended did excellent work in a timely manner. The company contact was helpful and professional. They contacted me on Saturday within 15 minutes of my contact with Home Advisor. The supply house didn't have the heater I needed so I had to wait until Monday. But they were here earlier than scheduled.

Granite counter top - Quick turn around once picked the granite piece we wanted. Installers were very efficient. Demolition of current top, was a mess, but cleaned up well by the guys. Was able to work with a single slab, that made it cost out the best.

Received call immediately and was able to pick service provider from their information and by checking with Better Business Bureau. Callers did not keep calling me back to see if work was done which I appreciated. Was able to pick 3 providers to come and give quote.

I had several leaks over one section of my roof. Roofer discovered several holes because the original roofer had apparently skipped a few steps. The roof is only 9 years old. I am very pleased with the work that has been done.

HomeAdvisor is a good choice for people looking for local services and projects if you are on a tight budget or short on time. But take your time and ask a lot of questions of the contractors that offer those services.

I always check with Home Advisor first before starting a project. I have used Home Advisor often and have always had good results. I will continue to do so as often as I have projects to start and finish. Saves me time and energy and money. I can always check out the reviews and research the companies on my own before deciding who to hire.

I recently contacted HomeAdvisor for an Architect. After completing the requested information, I had been matched with 2-3 in my area. I replied that I wanted quotes from all. Never heard back. I then contacted HomeAdvisor for Home Designers. After completing this requested information, I was matched with 1, whom I again requested a quote, but never heard back. I was then contacted by phone after approximately by HomeAdvisor with follow up on whether I was contacted by the chosen home designer and I told her no. She asked me whether I was still in need of a Home designer and I told her yes, and she said she would email me several other designers. Maybe you can guess what happened. I never received the email from HomeAdvisor. Don't waste your time with "HomeAdvisor"!!!!

Structural technologies is great. From the inspection to the finish of the job, courteous and professional. Joe was on top of the roof replacement every step of the way. His crew were amazing as well. No nails or trash left behind.

Do you know why you don't see the real great contractors on here. Because they charge the contractor an arm and a leg to advertise. Consumer is free. Yes I am a very good contractor and played dumb and said I need a bathroom/remodeling contractor. First they asked too many questions on the site. Yeah. All that information is now sold off to advertising sites. Get ready - there will be a lot of annoying advertising tracking you. Second there are so many good contractors around here including me. When I submitted the info what showed up were contractors 50 miles away, one was actually out of state. Do you actually think that are going to be cheap as that have to add in the travel time. ANGIE'S LIST IS THE SAME. All the commercials are Bull. 1 out of 10 realize that. GOOD LUCK. I'm the Honest One. They are not. Just don't have the Money to tell everyone. From Mark.

Lawn maintenance. I was very impressed with how easy it was to use HomeAdvisor. The company they recommended was fantastic, and I have been very impressed. This was my first experience with HomeAdvisor, but I intend to use them again!

Tim ** with NerdsToGo did a terrific job in installing a new power unit, added more memory, made it wireless and cleaned up years of updates I hadn’t done! He and his technician Brad also came to my home to fix the HDMI cable connection, fix the problem with my keyboard not typing and even set-up my wireless printer! Great Customer Service and Great Work!!!

Searched for a AC professional through friends, family and internet. HomeAdvisor seemed to knock it out of the park with their coverage of vendors. Tried it and am very happy with the choice. Friends and family recommended other friends and family, HomeAdvisor recommended a professional and the job is done.

Electrical services - Home Advisor is a good tool to use when you are needing services done. The app is easy to use and FREE! I have used Home Advisor on several projects and have continued to use the contractors they recommended more than once.

Mark was fantastic. I contacted Home Advisor on Monday and Mark called within minutes. He went to our house that same day and found damage from the woodpecker I had not seen. I received his estimate on Tuesday and he completed the work on Wednesday. The job was done so well, with replacing wood, siding and paint, you cannot even tell where the most extensive damage was. I would definitely recommend and would use Marco Construction again.

Annual maintenance for AC. Used HomeAdvisor to find a person to service our ACs. We live on the end of Cape Cod so finding service can be a challenge. A person -- Cape Code Climate Solutions -- was identified and Peter was excellent to work with for the project. His responses were timely and his estimate was accurate. Excellent experience through HomeAdvisor.

I'm sure many have had a much better experience with HomeAdvisor, however, that's not in my case. I'm a real estate developer and I've been using HomeAdvisor for years for practically everything but that is no longer the case. I don't trust the businesses that have been referrals. I have had so many bad experiences that I lost track. I just quit using them altogether. Most of the so called "pros," are just starting out and do work on the side in addition to another job that they hold full time. The real pros don't use HomeAdvisor for leads. It's a great site if you're really in a bind but my advice is to get references. I'm tired of inexperienced guys posing as pros.

Remove an 85 ft red oak, grind stump and haul away all debris and clean up site. Team was very prompt, courteous, and very professional -- price was very competitive. I would use Home Advisor again. Their recommendations were excellent.

Ceiling repair. Repaired hole left by plumber and second area with water stain. Water stain was actually more severe than originally thought. Repair was added at a very reasonable cost. When repairs were completed it was impossible to see where the damage was..

Home Waste Removal - I was amazed when HomeAdvisor came up with a contractor immediately, and when I pressed "call", the contractor answered immediately and gave me a quote over the phone. It was a lot easier than I expected. I will definitely use HomeAdvisor again for any future projects.

HomeAdvisor was great to use in finding someone to make a needed repair. They provided a list of companies with reviews. Different companies then contacted me and I made a decision which one to use. I was very satisfied with the company used. I highly recommend Home Advisor.

Pool maintenance and repair - I've used Home Advisor a few times since my husband died, and I have very pleased with the referrals and recommended businesses! I feel that I can trust Home Advisor for every area of repairs that I might need. I like the ratings system and the feedback from other customers.

House cleaning - Overall a good experience. I would ask for a little more attention to details such as cleaning at the base of the toilets. When dusting, picking items up to dust under them. I did not pay close enough attention until she left, so that was my fault I had a medical procedure done that morning and I was in a great deal of pain. But she was very pleasant to talk to and when I did ask her to do something specific she was very accommodating. I would ask her to come back again.

I have never had to speak with a company like I have this one. We have been using 5 other lead generation companies and never experience anything like this with them. They charged us $800+ In leads we never accepted or contacted. After we already spent $400 in leads that had no success. When signing up for HomeAdvisor the customer representative that I talked to for two hours before joining HomeAdvisor didn’t mention we would be billed for any leads sent regardless if we accept or contact the lead.

HomeAdvisor does a bad job of filtering leads for contractors. The leads I receive are either incomplete in information or for services that I am not listed for. I have to take the time to sort through a number of leads for one that is viable. That means I am spending my time doing HomeAdvisor work. Why should I have to figure out where a homeowner lives, the address should be provided. Why should I have to find out the person is not the actual homeowner. Why should I have to find out a competitor is testing the system. And then I have to take time out again to request a refund. And then have to follow up with a phone call to actually get the refund. The operators are not knowledgeable in the services HomeAdvisor provides. I had to explain many times to an operator what a Designer is, and how it's different from someone mowing a lawn. HomeAdvisor just uses quantity over quality at the expense of the professionals.

The drywall holes were repaired, the texture was a perfect match. I chose to paint it myself. They were courteous and answered all my questions. For any further drywall work, I would certainly recommend Tommy.

Needed HVAC installers in my area. HomeAdvisor supplied me with at least four to choose from. Went with one that was highly rated and was happy with their work. Will use homeadvisor again but also Angie’s list to get the best pool of contractors available.

T.E.A.M Enterprises called first thing next morning, didn't show up to see project, came next day after I called, said they'd be in touch, haven't heard a peep since then, a week ago. Keep Hammering called, came out, sent bid, completed work within a week. So, very pleased with what I ended up with, shame on T.E.A.M.

Quickly found a pro to get the job done. When you don't have the time to do it yourself, have the know-how, or emergency. Visit HomeAdvisor, type the job, narrow down if need be- BOOM- you'll have a list of Pros with ratings and reviews. Before you know it sometimes, your phone rings with a Pro ready to get your job done. Awesome.

I have used Home Advisor for many years. Starting this year the number of contacts after searching for a service provider has become ridiculous. I like the service and the providers, but I do not like the constant emails and texts. Knock it off.

Bat Removal - Home Advisor was able to put us in contact with a contractor the same day we submitted our request. We are very happy with the contractor. We do have other projects we need to have addressed and plan to use Home Advisor to assist in finding contractors for these projects.

We had also called for two other contacts about other projects but Central Skylight was the only one who got back to us right away and came out for an assessment view so we gave them the business. We are now looking for other ways to get a couple of other projects done.

Hired 2 companies to install a small show door. They couldn't do it, it was too complicated. Contacted HomeAdvisor, they provided 3 recommendations, we selected MJ. They arrived that afternoon, evaluated the situation and made their recommendations, we could tell they knew what they were doing, we hired them on the spot. They perfectly installed a beautiful shower door, beyond our expectations.

They helped me get multiple quotes and I found a great professional who built a new outlet, hung my TV perfectly, recommended a great sound system, and made everything connect. It looks really awesome and professional. I'd highly recommend using this service.

HomeAdvisor was helpful to introduce a right several companies to me. Although a few of the companies were quite pricey but but none of them charged me for the estimation and finally I could find a company that their price was fair.

Phil’s tree service was professional, thorough, amenable, and willing to please its customer. They did an excellent job and priced it fairly. They trimmed trees, ground the stumps, trimmed a tree, raked the areas, and planted grass seed. There were four workers and one Foreman, JOHN, who oversaw the entire job. He stayed on top of everything and made sure the clean up was complete and I was pleased with the job. I would recommend them to others.

We contacted them for tree trimming tree removal services here in Tampa area. We really were looking for quotes to make a decision on what and. When we needed to get the project done. We made two appointments and decided on the first company Bermudez Multiservices Inc and we were very satisfied.

I usually don't write reviews as often the experience doesn't warrant the effort, but in this case I was surprised at the experience and quality of work. I was not expecting such an easy experience, but the project got done on time and most importantly well done. I will definitely be recommending HA and American Refinishing NYC and very soon I may contact them out once more for other projects.

Very fast response by companies, with all of them being able to come out the same day to give quotes. All were great, and competitive which actually made it difficult to just select one. If you want a project done I say call Home Advisor for a fast response and good companies.

I used Area Wide Services that was suggested by you to install a new AC unit in my home 18 months ago. I had problems and it turned out to be the motor that is under warranty. After 3 trips and $500.00 for service calls it is fixed. They charged for freight and handling for the parts. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

It was difficult to determine how the price range for this service. The final cost was about 900 more than I had estimated. I was limited by the circumstances in getting more bids, so we bit the bullet. That being said, I will use Home Advisor again for other projects at the house.

HomeAdvisor states that they will find contractors who will contact you for a job and they require that you give them your name, address, phone number and email address. I did so, even though I do not like submitting this type of information online. After doing so, HomeAdvisor presented me with a list of contractors - none of whom had the equipment or the ability to perform the work I had clearly requested. This site is worthless.

We had several people respond from HomeAdvisor after we placed the search. We were extremely pleased with the quick response and follow up. It is obvious that HomeAdvisor wants it’s customers to be satisfied. The fact that we were called and emailed to check up on the project was impressive.

We have been using our fireplace this past winter and now required it to be cleaned. I had to get my chimney deep cleaned and inspected. The basic cleaning would not do the job. The tech did a superb job.

They provided an accurate estimate for painting and carpentry work, completed the work in a timely and professional manner, and within budget. I have used HomeAdvisor for two home repairs - garage and foundation. Each time I found an outstanding professional. I had been putting these repairs aside since I had no one to assist and was somewhat reluctant to try the Home Advisor service but I am glad that I did. I have had two excellent experiences.

My experience with HomeAdvisor was great. I was able to find techs for my last two jobs very easily. My last tech however wasn't very cost effective nor was I able to reach him after he was paid for work at one of my rental units. Later when I spoke to the tenant I found out he was onsite for 5 minutes and really didn't do anything to warrant the fee he charged. I find it hard to believe his rating.

Awesome experience! Thank you Home Advisors!! Our home is on the market for sale. We needed the ceilings done in a hurry. The workers came in between jobs with a request from us that needed to be done within 7 days. They were done by 5 days. We had a few scratches on our wood floors, but overall, given the time, scope of job, and their work load already, they were great!

Mr. ** and his crew were prompt and professional in every way. The work is exquisite. They mounted my copper finials and sprayed them so they would not oxidize as well as the copper lightning rods with hand-blown amber glass balls. They moved my weather vanes for a more aesthetic look and left several hand-blown glass balls for my garden. Mr. ** promised if I ever do any more roof work, he will come back and put the clamps on properly.

HomeAdvisor provided me with the name of a top quality concrete contractor whom I hired. He provided me with top excellent service and product. I am 100% satisfied with my HomeAdvisor experience. I will definitely use HomeAdvisor again.

The process of finding the right service supplier was easy & the follow up by the company was prompt & the person was professional & friendly on the phone. Cool Aid AC did a good job with the project of cleaning & servicing our five mini split air conditioners. They are two different brands, 3 Fujitsu & 2 Media. They are difficult to disassemble & were cleaned on site. Two are installed 15 feet up on the wall.

Within 30 minutes of contacting Home Advisor, Precision Door Services contacted me... and this was a Saturday morning... and were at my house within an hour. The technician was very, very experienced with the operation and repair of garage doors and saved me from a potentially damaging failure. My original request was for seal replacements on both garage doors but during operational check out of the doors it was found the double door slider was almost completely broken and potentially just days away from a complete failure.

Have hired a few contractors through this source. It is a great way to find the right people to do the various jobs. It is easy and the contractors call you back. I would recommend this resource to other friends and neighbors.

My experience with Reggie the lawn man was terrible. I should of just walked in my house when he was late to come to my house to look at my lawn, but I am a ** women and when he got out of his car and I saw that he was a ** businessman I decided to give him a try. I like giving my business to ** small businesses. We talked and I told him what I wanted and he reassured me that he could do the job I wanted and my lawn would look great. So I asked how much and he said three hundred if I wanted to pay him under the table in cash, I agreed and he set a time for Friday morning at ten am.

Good prospects, although one did not show for an appointment to give estimate. I was satisfied with the painter chosen. He had to remove wallpaper and finish some sheet rock work in order to complete the project. Finished project was very good in appearance. Solid work ethic of crew.

I tried finding local handymen on my own, but it was taking a long time. When I went through Home Advisor, the pros got back to me right away, and we had the job contracted and finished in just a few days. I liked knowing that these guys were licensed and insured, and I could read ratings for their work.

This is the worst painting job that I ever had. Never hire this guy, you will be sorry. First the guy put some made up paint on the outside doors. Ran out and could not or would not get more. Said he didn't know what color it was. Left the front door on. Finished the inside was painted with real thin paint (I think he made out of 1 gallon 3 gallons of paint) put paint on thin as you can without the old color showing though plus no primer anywhere.

Needed termite inspection/treatment. Used the website, read reviews, and selected a few companies to call me for estimate - I reviewed and made my selection. It was nice to be able to have a few comparisons. Ultimately this led to my satisfaction with the the company I chose.

The United Garage Door guys arrived timely, analyzed the problem quickly, and performed the work rapidly. The guys were courteous, congenial, knowledgeable, and very professional. The work was done neatly, quickly and in a very professional manner. I have used Home Advisor for a carpenter, plumber, and electrician. All were awesome and did excellent work for a very reasonable price. Home Advisor is very easy to use and I got calls and emails almost immediately after my request from Home Advisor. Use them, you definitely won't be disappointed.

Window cleaning - Was very satisfied with Home Advisor. After searching through the newspaper for someone for the job, I had an appointment made with an independent. One hour before he was due to arrive he called and said that the person that was to do the job called in so he would need to reschedule. That's when I decided to call Home Advisor. Glad I did.

This is my second experience using Home Advisor - both were quote successful and I will be using again soon for another project! First was a plumbing project and second was a painter - both had good recommendations and was totally pleased with both!

Finding a well and pump expert - The Home Advisor website was easy to navigate and it provided a short list of repair businesses pertinent to my well pump problem. It also followed up on how I was doing and gave me an opportunity to write a review.

It started with a sales pitch and a background check. I HAD to give a credit card before the search. There wasn’t a charge but they wouldn’t do it without one. The first warning sign but I ignored it. Because I couldn’t afford it at that time, I wanted the sales guy to wait on putting any charges through. That didn’t happen. I called to cancel within 72 hr cancel period. And got nowhere. Months later my phone is blowing up with bogus referrals that they charge for if I respond to them. These referrals are coming from Texas Seattle etc. I live in NYC. Doing landscape design!!! Not Texas. It's way overpriced for bogus fake referrals. To add insult to injury they give no written option so I may keep track of our correspondence but they can record all conversations. To their advantage to do so not mine.

At first they make it sound super great! Tons of leads come in, awesome! 99.9% are horrible leads. It took us 2yrs to close 1 lead. That is crazy. I was so happy, then thought, I actually spent thousands for this lead. Lol. Today, just got charged $42.41. Guy answered and said, “Nope. I didn't do submit a request.” Started cussing at me on how I got his number. I submitted a request for a refund. They don't refund by the way, they will only give you credit. And once again, my request was denied! They can care less about the business. It’s all about charging asap. That's all they care about. Many businesses cancel membership, but they get the new guys right away. Unfortunately, they find out the truth when it’s too late. I never post anything on any website, but I figured small businesses have to know what’s going on with this business. Good luck guys and have a great Easter Weekend.

Sprinklers - HomeAdvisor have provided me with some very professional help. The estimates have all been fair and the companies I have hired have been friendly, efficient and competitive. I needed some work done and didn't know anyone in that field. I did a HomeAdvisor search and got a recommendation. It was perfect. I contacted the person and he did a complete professional job who I would recommend to others.

Chuck was the contractor, amazing man. High integrity with cost and installation. I'm going to use HomeAdvisor for my upcoming projects. I found this company through Google by accident. What a great find. I really appreciate it. I hired he for crown and trim work. He probably may be one of the most reliable contractors I've meet in a very long time. Up to this point I thought I was on my own looking for good contractors. Now I feel I have someone to count on.

The company who installed the door wouldn't repair the broken spring, so Mr. ** had to go out and find what he needed on his own and repair both doors. Great Job! He does what he says, when he said he would, keeps in touch by phone till complete, he shows up when he said he would. He made several trips out, trying to get the correct parts since original company wouldn't help him with parts, nor would they come fix the doors.

Polyurea garage floor coating. HomeAdvisor was very quick to give me 4 top quality contractors to choose from. The hardest part was deciding which one to go with because they all had great reviews and all seemed to be excellent. I'm very please with the results of my project and I know HomeAdvisor does a great job of connecting with great contractors.

I appreciated the quick response with referrals to highly rated companies. I prefer receiving email offers from companies rather than phone calls. I had the option to select companies I wanted to contact rather than receiving multiple phone calls from too many companies.

Got few responses to my last few projects; most pros listed did not bother to contact me. 2 pros contacted me for lastest ceiling project, but when one came to look at project, said he didn't like doing ceilings and gave a quote 3 times higher than other.

HomeAdvisor made it easy to pick the right company for the work we needed. We have used HomeAdvisor twice now and both times the process was easy and smooth. Both of the different companies we hired were wonderful and the pricing was great.

I received several response to my project request on the same day I submitted it. This is a significant improvement over calling vendors directly. Two areas could be improved: I described my project on HA's site, but the companies didn't have the details. Also, I set preferences on HA to receive only emails, not texts, but I got both which created some confusion.

HomeAdvisor obviously doesn't screen a company before listing it as a recommended company. Under sunroom additions they listed Hermann Brothers Enterprises as recommended. They went out of business and absconded with $22500 of my monies. HomeAdvisor sucks!!!

I will definitely be using HomeAdvisor again for any needs where I don't already have a contractor in mind. I just used the service for finding a water heater replacement vendor. I requested quotes on the website and quickly received responses with local vendors. Great Service.

I spoke with Mark. He put us on the schedule immediately as our other lawn person was having equipment problems. We were 2nd on the list the next day. They did a nice job. We will be using them all season.

Replace sprinkler valve and related parts. Valve was leaking. Called many local companies but some called and didn't follow up, and some didn't call at all. So I turned to HomeAdvisor. When I signed up I received 2 phone calls right away. I hired the first caller because he seemed to listen to my problem.

I signed up with HomeAdvisor in 2018 to promote my cleaning business. Let me tell you that if you are in cleaning industry do not sign with HomeAdvisor. It is a scam and you will only lose your money. Currently I am $740 under on HomeAdvisor leads. Their process of providing customer leads, charge every time whether or not customer answers phone or message. Most of the leads are garbage, customers never answer the phone. Other leads are misleading too. I had some leads where jobs were hazardous restoration type, I still got charged for leads, regardless that jobs were not in my area.

Weatherproofing an outside door + he put a sweep on the front door, keeping the cold air out in the winter and the air-conditioning inside during the summer ~ and when I mentioned a lightbulb that had broken in a lamp, he just fixed it ~ no extra charge.

I have used HomeAdvisor 3 times and each time it was a waste of energy. The 1st time they gave me companies over 70 miles from me. The next time they provided 3 companies and all were out of business. This time I asked for a septic system company in Venice, FL and they conected me with a plumbing company 30 miles north of me. I guess they must not have very many companies signed with them because there's 6 septic companies in my town.

We had a good connection to solid pros. We unfortunately discovered when we set up the appointment on the site, the Pro hadn't been contacted at all. Luckily we reached the contractor who recovered it and helped the same week as originally planned.

We sold our home and moved out of state so the list of walk through items during the inspection was a nuisance so I looked at Home Advisor to find help. I followed their steps, used 4 folks recommended by their sites, wrote 3 recommendations as requested and waited for my $50 referral. I even got a call from a representative to verify my last recommendation and he said once it was posted, I should see my reward. More than a year later and at least 5 calls/emails/contacts, no response and no rewards. My experience might have rated more stars if they were honest and responded with a lie, at least they would have closed the loop. I have opted to use other resources. Use at your own risk.

I was very pleased with the prompt response I received from the contractors that came up in the project search I completed upon first logging on. Even though several of the contractors were unable to respond to the urgency of my request, I did have one contractor call me and was at my home and had the job done within 3 hours of first contact. I was very impressed.

Geni from Payless Roofing & Gutters did a fabulous job repairing our vinyl siding that was damaged and ripped off from the wind storm. He not only repaired the damaged siding but secured the rest of the siding for us to avoid further damage. He is a hard worker and deserves a 5 star rating.

I just received a call from a rep (don't recall his name) telling me that it doesn't make any sense for me not to pay HomeAdvisor $1000,00 to get my business, more business. The man wanted to argue with me. I am running a business, and don't have time for someone calling me arguing because I declined their services. I advised him in the beginning of the call I was not interested, and he tells me I don't make any sense. As a small business owner, getting started and having a clientele started, this is not a smart business move. I don't appreciate someone calling me and telling me when I decline to pay $1000,00. nicely, that I don't make any sense and getting very aggressive. When you give me aggressive attitude I'm not buying what you're selling. As a business owner I have to make smart business decisions for my company. I don't treat my customers like that and won't tolerate someone calling me like that. Very poor customer service.

I called several electricians prior to seeking out HomeAdvisor. Almost all the electrician I called did not want to perform the work. I saw a Home Advisor ad on TV and decided to give a try. I asked for Electrical upgrade and electrical outlets, wiring and lights. Home advisor gave me several electricians near me. I used the services that were available to me to contact 6 electricians for estimates. Of the 6, 1 did not provide an estimate, and 1 did not call. For the remaining 4 we looked at costs, the services they were to provide. Our final decision was to hire Frank Wdowiak Master Electrician. Thank you Home Advisor, I will be looking at Home Advisor for all my future projects.

Carpet Masters service in Laguna Woods. The service was bad enough, had to come back and correct it: hitler-mustache guy came and was swearing like hell (** and others). Would you please check on the recommended contractor's background and feedback's more frequently? HORRIBLE experience!

I got an estimate very quickly and they provided very good service. Will use company again. Owner very knowledgeable and thorough in his work. I have used HomeAdvisor twice now and pleased at the responses by the companies affiliated with HomeAdvisor.

Electrical work on odd projects. Website was well constructed and quickly led to a professional electrician that was licensed and bonded. We were very happy with the contractor that contacted us, his work was superb. The prices were very fair and reasonable. He was very clean and pleasant to have in our home working on our various projects.

I was very displeased when I joined HomeAdvisor and started a project. I was not sure how I wanted to proceed and did not select any of the pros that the website suggested. I figured I would sleep on it and decide the next day. Well by the time I went to bed I had an email from a pro that I had not chosen. Then the following day I got a phone call from yet another pro. When talking to HomeAdvisor they stated that when you start a project you start a service request and they can give your information to pros that they think are appropriate. I was also displeased with the fact that you can not delete your account. You can only be put on a no call list and unsubscribe from receiving emails. Will not be using this site in the future.

This review has nothing to do with contractors, etc., but about the Homeadvisor.com site itself. I have used this site a few times. After you enter all your information, it brings up suggested companies, etc. Then I have chosen one or two to get a quote from. All good so far. The problem is if I didn't write down the names of the companies it brought up and which ones I wanted a quote from, I have several companies calling, texting, emailing, and I'm at this point not even sure which one I was really interested in, in the first place! I always try to go back in, put in same info, but it always comes up with new companies that I had not seen before. Now I'm not sure who it is. I read all the reviews on and decided to get a quote from - when so many others call! Is there any way to go back in and find out who you originally liked?

We had Bailey's Roofing & Construction put on a new asphalt roof. HomeAdvisor gave me the peace of mind by providing listings of professional roofers. Home Advisor is so easy to use. Home Advisor also followed up with me as to if the work was done to my standards.

Brett Jabaay's Tree service is an extremely professional, reliable service. They did as promised, actually trimmed a couple of other trees at no additional charge, and removed all debris from my premises. Other companies try to stack the wood next to the road, damaging my sod and yard. Brett removed the debris, cleaned the area, and left the job pristine. His chainsaw skills were phenomenal, and being a WV Hillbilly that is saying something about his expertise. Would highly recommend this business.

HomeAdvisor has very good listings. Lots of information and choices. Unfortunately, I got too many emails & phone calls from HomeAdvisor and their vendors for me to handle. I felt like everyone was so desperate for me to hire them right now! So I'm not sure I will use HomeAdvisor again.

Had siding removed and house and porch covered in stone. HomeAdvisor helped me find contractors that understood what I wanted to do and had recommendations and ratings to help me decide. I will be using Homeadvisor for any future home improvement projects.

Company selected, removed old stockade fence and replaced with new at a greatly reduced price compared to other vendors. I would highly recommend this company for any fence installation. The work was performed on a timely basis considering that with our wet property, the concrete added to secure the posts, needed to cure for 24 hours.

HomeAdvisor must never have checked out these guys. They got me and a few others at the same time. Will probably take legal action to try and get back my money. They did not even pay for materials with 1/2 down upfront feel taken by HomeAdvisor and the roofers.

Pressure Wash or soft wash house and driveway - I used HomeAdvisor.com for the first time and was able to find several people to do work around the house, so far two jobs are completed and a third one will be done on Monday 4.15.19. I am very pleased with the quality and character of the workers you have suggested on the website.

HomeAdvisor blatantly disregarded my "Spending Target" totaling $1,436.97 in the six weeks AFTER setting my Spending Target to $100 per month. On making contact, HA affirmed my understanding of the spend target, but claimed certain types of leads are exempt from the spending target per Terms and Conditions. The terms are very clear and state nothing about spend target exceptions. HomeAdvisor is blatantly robbing Professionals. Please learn from my mistake and avoid HomeAdvisor.

The peaks of my roof were perforated from Harvey and I had an interior leak (laundry room) from a poorly constructed roof. EM Construction showed up on time, reviewed the work, offered to fix the problem immediately - bought the materials and went to work! The results were achieved quickly and efficiently - and were aesthetically pleasing as well!

I appreciated being able to work with local businesses and having quick access to them without having to spend much effort. I would encourage more local businesses to register here to increase exposure, since I noticed several nearby businesses did not pop up here and if they had, I would have been more likely to consider their services. One feature to possible consider would be a way to have Pro's post quotes to a users' profile, that way a user can easily compare different Pro's side-by-side. Other than that, this was a very helpful site.

I've had three exceptional contractor experiences with HomeAdvisor. I came home to a cold house after work. The ignitor in my forced air gas furnace had stopped working. I went on HomeAdvisor, entered my repair needs, and within 60 seconds, had calls coming in. Within an hour, a repair man was out looking at the furnace, and as this was after hours, agreed to return by 7:30 the next morning with the parts. The repair was completed as promised, and my furnace is up and running again! Thanks Home Advisor! I have recommended you to my friends and family.

I signed up with HomeAdvisor wanting to get into smaller scale home improvement projects (painting, lawn care, etc.) and said that would not be a problem, that I could customize my leads accordingly. I ended up receiving leads consisting of bathroom and kitchen remodels. I end up cancelling my subscription, and one month later they start sending me leads again and charge me $300. I call and ask why my subscription was not cancelled, and they claim that I did not tell them to cancel my subscription. I sensed that I was essentially scammed out of nearly $700 over extremely deceptive marketing practices.

I thought they would help but instead they made things worse for our business. HomeAdvisor customer advisor reps are readily available, polite and helpful. If a contractor does not continue to perform, HA assists with revised ratings. Contractor's care about their ratings and will usually take prompt action to remedy deficiencies.

This was my first experience with HomeAdvisor. I've seen the advertisements but never really considered them before. I found HomeAdvisor in a Google search while looking for HVAC repair near me. After just a few "fill in the blanks" I received responses from three professionals in my area. The pro that we chose had the highest rating and for good reason. They came and did an excellent job professionally and at a reasonable price. HomeAdvisor made my search almost too easy.

Good work for a fair price. All work was done to expectation and was done efficiently. All materials were cleaned up inside and outside of the house. When they were done, you couldn't tell any work had been done. Owner also gave us a full explanation of what benefits we could expect from the insulation installation.

The process of finding local pros, coordinating the bid process, and providing a rating system made the process much simpler. I have placed two other projects in the system because of the tracking system. The follow up during the project and after the completion is superb.

I was happy I was able to find a provider (not that easy in my area) for multiple small handyman projects and HomeAdvisor helped facilitate that process. I specifically also liked using the text messaging feature, and my pro was extremely responsive. Rudy had suggestions that are useful that he has learned and imparts that knowledge to the customer. If, or when there is an issue I will call them again. As contractor, we pay for leads. Not all leads are perfect as they say and we are given opportunities to contact customer during their guidelines where we can request credit if it falls within the criteria established. I was just informed a credit is not due if that phone number given has a voicemail or answer machine...it's not considered "unable to reach customer", even after attempting multiple times with no response or call back to contractor. I've questioned if HomeAdvisor creates dummy leads that we as contractors will have a hard time justifying a credit as well as paying for that lead that is in no way a good lead by any means.

Contractor showed on time for estimate, showed up on time for work, did remove debris and cleaned up work area at work completion. However, contractor should have excised more care in cutting down heavy branches near neighbor's fence. Serious damage could have been caused.

The job was to resurface laminate counter tops. It was beautifully done and I am quite pleased with the result, and would gladly recommend them for a job of this kind. Work was done in a timely manner and as quoted. Finished job looks like marble and was very professional.

HomeAdvisor charged my company $750.00 in two weeks time. Every lead that was sent was not validated and they refused to credit account. HomeAdvisor did not notify that if you wanted to cancel you had to within 72 hours or no refund. HomeAdvisor did not notify that they would just charge your credit card weekly. All leads were useless and nothing is validated. Customer service reads off a paper to avoid answering your questions and will not even discuss refunds with you. Oh if you want to keep using their services they will give you a credit to your account, send you more useless leads and then get their credit back from your leads and then charge you more money again. SCAMMERS.

Went in search of a gutter repair service for my home, found a contractor that did small repairs in my area who was well reviewed so I reached out. I received a quick response and was able to setup an estimate without a long wait.

I had been with HomeAdvisor for over a year and had terrible experiences with bad leads, terrible customer service, increasing fees, and lack of communication from their terrible service personnel. About 9 out of every 10 leads were bad and often times the phone number and contact info for potential customers was wrong. IF YOU ARE A SERVICE PROVIDER STAY AWAY FROM HOMEADVISOR!!!

I first called an electrician I have used in the past, but never got a response. Due to the urgency of this matter, I reached out to electricians on here. Each one responded immediately and came out to give me quotes on the job.

This was my first experience with Home Advisor. It went well and I am pleased with the ease of use and the quick response by seemingly qualified contractors. I was very happy that I could narrow down my requests so that not "every single cabinet company in town would be calling me." Two very appropriate replies and an easy choice to be made.

I have received many leads in our first 2 months with HA, while a few were good it seems many (50%) have no interest in a home improvement and when asked for credits for these only about half were approved. Also we set a limit of 1,000. and were never informed that special leads could exceed this. Customer service offered us only partial relief for a nearly 4,000. bill! We wished to continue with HA but have had to discontinue and litigate this dispute, VERY DISAPPOINTED!

I put a request in to Home Advisor and within 12 hours I received 2 calls and 4 emails for professionals to help me. We have a very professional company that helped us and was very pleased with the results. Home Advisor reps called me a few times to check up and make sure that I was getting what I needed. Always professional and caring.

Basement waterproofing. Received 3 calls from companies same day of proceeding through Home Advisor for my project. Selected one of the three and am very pleased with timelines and work performed. There was no over selling or pressure from anyone involved through my reaching out to Home Advisor or any of the three companies that I contacted.

Artificial grass install - Work was done in a good workmanlike manner, the job was kept clean and the workers were courteous. I would recomend true landscaping to anyone who asked me. That is all I have to say about this installation.

I have had HomeAdvisor for at least 5 years with an established company since 2012 and over 100 good reviews and 5-star rating with their company. I was very satisfied until one day they have decided that even though I pay my payment, they will not allow me to participate with their company due to MY LAST NAME. I am very dissatisfied as this is unprofessional, discourteous, and DISCRIMINATIVE. There are many people with the same last name and they cannot think they can take one for all. I have at least 20 other family members that were also treated in such a way and I am looking forward for HomeAdvisor to pay the price.

Drywall installation. I do not believe that I have used HomeAdvisor before. I was a little leery because I did not want to deal with pushy companies and I like to have recommendations of friends. However, I was extremely pleased with City Wide Drywall and would never have been able to find them on my own.

My lawn sprinkler system had an issue with a couple of solenoid valves. HomeAdvisor connected me with a very good company. The repair company contacted me quickly, the repair was scheduled the next day. Repairs were made on schedule and for a fair price. I am pleased with the whole process. I will definitely use HomeAdvisor for future repair projects.

I had my ugly shower replaced by Twin Home Experts, recommended by HomeAdvisor. I was very hesitant, because previously, I had two projects by different Contractors for different things, both licensed, however did not do a good job. Replace seamless gutters. Very responsive with three different recommendations. Two of the services they put us in contact with were very responsive and the one we went with did a great job. They were the lowest bid, contacted us immediately and answered any and all questions in a timely and courteous manner.

This was a terrible experience working with HomeAdvisor as a contractor. They are all too happy to take your money and provide terrible leads. They sell you on how good the quality of their leads are, however I couldn't even get in contact with 95% of the leads. After talking with them on the phone many times trying to explain that I can't get a hold of any of their leads, there was no resolution. Absolutely no vetting of leads, and for the money they charged me this should have been done. Trying to cancel my account was a nightmare, all they wanted to do was keep charging me for people clicking a button on their website, and that's all the service they provide, someone clicks a button, I get charged money. Finally they attempted to send me to collections!! Contractors do not use this service. Homeowners, just ask your friends and family for referrals, HomeAdvisor is not trustworthy!

Mr. Rooter performed plumbing repairs. The technician, Scott, was knowledgeable and efficient. He posed several options to address the problem areas at hand. The work was carried out expeditiously; the work areas were left neat and tidy. A very positive experience; the results speak for themselves.

The turn around time is exceptional. I needed a quote for two locations and this vendor satisfied both sites in a timely and professional manner. Home Advisor made several recommendations. Some vendors showed up, some did not; however, SMART renovations satisfied my needs.

I am a painting contractor and originally signed up for HomeAdvisor to receive high quality leads. I was willing to pay for it and created a good profile on their site. HomeAdvisor does not deliver what they promise. I was charged for leads when I was promised my leads would be paused. I received leads that were not in the realm of my stated skill set. I asked for a refund on these leads and was refused. They told me that it was a computer glitch and they still would not refund me. My first 5 leads never returned my communication within the 72 hour window that was granted to me (HomeAdvisor said that, on average, that contractors are awarded 75% of the leads they bid on). I had to beg to get refunded on just two of these leads. I see no value from my experience with HomeAdvisor. In fact it cost me money to engage in this misguided experiment. I am currently disputing the charges with the help of my credit card company.

I have been extremely pleased with all the work I have requested thru Home Advisor, whether inside or outside. Good to know you can call someone and get good service all around. It's nice to be able to get the kind of help you want without having to pay a finder's fee. Thanks HomeAdvisor.

HomeAdvisor helped us find the help we needed for some of our home maintenance. We will use them again ~ it helped us quickly find local businesses to support. Their communication is very good but not annoyingly overwhelming. Thank you.

Easy to set up appts through HomeAdvisor. Would def recommend to anyone trying to hire a professional craftsman. They take the guess work out of the process. Allows you to read reviews and make informed decisions. Like the fact that you can do it all online.

HomeAdvisor isn't all its hyped up to be. I was called so many times from the sales agent, it was annoying. After finally talking with the sales agent I signed up, big mistake. You are charged around $250 for an annual membership upfront. Out of the 14 leads only ONE wanted me & the others changed their mind or did not answer. I noticed they had lead fees of almost $30 & I was told by the sales agent before signing up the fees were $10-$20.

Spoke with fence person and he set up a date and time to come out and give estimate on fencing. The person never showed up and did not call to apologize or reschedule. Very poor way to do business. Hope that this site gives feedback to contractor.

We completed HomeAdvisor because we needed repair/replacement of our patio. No sooner do you end the form do you have SEVERAL contractors calling you. At that time we provided our address and details. One contractor showed and said he would give a quote, we NEVER heard anything. The other contractor said he would be here yesterday and never showed. I believe they google your address and if they don’t think it’s a big money project they are not interested. Will rather use word of mouth than this website.

Needed a full 2 layer tear off and replacement. Roof flooring was sound, 3 sheets of potential plywood replacement was included (in case there was something we weren't seeing with the old roof on), re-flash chimney, remove 2 vents. Everything we needed!
