Garage door repair. Home Advisor is a great resource for finding quality contractors and arriving at the best work for the best price. I use them whenever I am faced with a project with which I am unfamiliar. The contractors who participate on this service are quick to respond and can usually schedule the work within 24 hours.

Very helpful - gives me the info I need to contact & choose someone, checks back to see if I found the right person & hired them. Have used for 5 different projects to date & all have been most helpful.

We had the garage door painted, as well as the wood around the doors, the exterior doors and the windows. Joe did great work! He also had great ideas for the "sprucing" of the house and how to keep it looking fresh.

Did an excellent job. Cleaned siding and brick on home, windows, patio which is concrete, sidewalks and driveway. It took about 4 hours to complete. They cleaned up afterwards... my home looks very good. I would recommend to others that are looking for pressure washing professional...

Had a foul smell and needing a cleaning/sterilizing of my furnace and vent system. They came in and did a great job cleaning and deodorizing the system. Gave suggestions of the possible cause of smell and if it were to come back how to locate it.

Your scheduling system is out of control. Someone called me at 9:30 AM on SUNDAY morning while I was in church. Luckily I had phone on do not disturb. They left me a voice mail to let me know you had been unable to contact one of the vendors who had an appointment on MONDAY. Way off on priority.

Easy to navigate site, picked my contractors, they all responded within an hour, had a follow up call from Home Advisor to confirm appointments. Selected contractor called to confirm appointment, was very courteous and did the work on price agreed on. Happy with using Home Advisor.

I posted a job on Home Advisor and got 3 immediate calls, two of which were very helpful. I used one of them for the job. I was very happy with the result. That was not my experience with the other major home-advice website. The people who contacted me through that site were not appropriate and/or not helpful and often didn't call back.

Being a first-time homebuyer, it is overwhelming trying to figure out where to turn for services. Home Advisor helps narrow down options and also gives you more than one company to choose from for you to get a quote.

They were very professional and timely. The problem was more challenging than first thought due to a lot of roots around the water sysrtem. They have to come back later in the year to complete the repairs. The root system is very dense and they will need to remove the root or laid another line.

Paving. Overall experience was good. Unfortunately, the company had to come back twice to get the application of sealer to take. Took more time than necessary. The company came back and made it right. Fixed the issue. Held to the price quoted.

My experience with you guys is very bad, nothing more than lost money. 90 % of the leads that I received was just waste of time, effort and of course money and you dont even recognized that. I lost about $500 in 1 month with this kind of leads.

Handyman did not complete project and what work was done was of low quality. The project was to install shutters which were replacements in a home with vinyl siding. The wrong shutter was installed and multiple new screw holes added to try to force shutter to fit. Terrible experience.

I was dubious about the site but Lowes had recommended it. l I thought it might be a self serving type system where business made its own listing. The service was quick and I found a competent and professional sprinkler repair company that I was use again, Pro Terra.

I've used this service in two different towns now. One big and one small. I will keep using them because they take all the stress out of finding good pros in my area. The follow up from Home Advisor to make sure you get connected to a pro is nice also.

I contracted with Pine Land Consulting after a referral from Home Advisor and reading some of their reviews. This is a great company to deal with; I feel that their pricing is very fair, and the value they provided was outstanding. They showed up on time (15min early), and worked hard all day removing three trees and all of the branches and debris. Then they returned to grind all three stumps, and afterwards removed the wood chips and left the sites very clean. I will definitely hire them again, and have already recommended them to a friend.

Patio & Cover Replacement. Before visiting HomeAdvisor I was only aware of a small number of local contractors that did this type of work and none of them really specialized in exactly what we wanted to do. HomeAdvisor was a great help in finding an excellent, knowledgeable, and professional contractor that did a fantastic job. I'd definitely recommend HomeAdvisor as a project resource.

I located a pro, hired him, and was extremely satisfied with his excellent service. However, Home Advisor sent several messages regarding other services that I do not need. This caused me to block them from further messages. I would use the service again, but I only want messages directly related to the services I search for. Once the service is complete, please don't send any additional messages.

The information is timely and sufficient for quick selection and follow up. For the first time user, I am satisfied and would like to use the same portal for future services. Hope more statistical information would be provided for comparison.

Cleaning appliances. Wow, they were the very best, first she called in 10 min.! I told her how bad it was! Showed up a touch early, went right to work, did a amazing job. Were great to work with, will put their name in my LBB.

I would like an easier way to return to leave a review. It took me a while to find the service I used. Also, I wanted to use the company again, and when I went to the process, it did not include them. It only gave me one pro.

I contacted Home Advisor online, completed their matching services questionnaire and had a company contact me within 5 minutes of completing the questionnaire. This was fast and easy! The company that called me arrived at my home within 30 minutes and completed the job within an hour. Clearly the HomeAdvisor ratings were accurate and reliable.

The only thing I did not like about using HomeAdvisor is that I could not locate any consumer reviews for my contractor. I tried several times to find the reviews on the page for "High Quality Roofing, LLC" Maybe I could not find any because I was the first reviewer. Now I see there are two of us who gave reviews.

Upholstery cleaning. Excellent vetting, service and response. Will use Eco-Tech again and highly recommend their services. Customer service was quick and responsive. Technician was their at designated time and very professional and had a good attitude and willingness to help solve the issue. Technician also had several good solutions to the problem / stains and the best way to remove them.

Roofer. Home Advisor gave me several businesses to review and choose from. Each one had personal reviews. I went with the one that had the best reviews and I was not disappointed. After looking at companies like Angie's List, I chose Home Advisor. Good choice and Home Advisor gave me more companies to choose from for the job.

The site is so easy to use and you always get a quick response to your request! Sometimes you may only get one right away, they are usually the one you choose! I have used them several times and will continue to do so!

Home Advisor provided me with several competent service providers (tree services). I was able to check their reviews, get quotes, and select a contractor with confidence in quality and price. The contractor I selected (Treescape Seriv es, Rapidan, VA) performed beyond my high expectations and completed the job on time, left my property clean, and charged me a very fair price for services.

I had old dried clay bound sod, had it removed and replaced. I needed to replace an very old sprinkler system to ensure the health of my investment of a new lawn! NEW Landscape is a very competent company lead by Jesus. Happy work team as well.

Signed up as a contractor and the representative told me SEVERAL TIMES we would only be charged for "sold" leads. This isn't accurate at all. You're charged $60 for EVERY lead, sold or not. Once I learned how the system really worked, I called back and told another representative what happened. They acted like it was no big deal and they tried to resell me on the service. I said no. I then asked for a refund. They begrudgingly said okay but it takes two weeks to a MONTH to get a refund and it was only gonna be a "partial refund" because they were going to charge me for two leads (at this point I've still yet to see ANY customer information).

Made appointment for a housecleaner on a Sat. at 1100. Paid in advance. Was the cheapest quote. HomeAdvisor texted me the day before to confirm. Great. Sat at 1000 get a text. Due to last minute Pro call off my appointment. Was rescheduled to Monday at 11 am. Good thing my husband was off work on Monday but OK. My event is not until Tues. SO I was feeling a little uneasy when it was close to 11 am and no one had arrived. Also wasn't worried when the housekeeping "Professional" called to say she was stuck in traffic but will be there in 10 mins. An hour and a half later I had to call HomeAdvisor to be told my Professional had an emergency and couldn't make it. Were they even going to tell me??

HomeAdvisor recommended A+ Concrete of Simpsonville, SC. I signed a contract and paid a deposit to get my driveway repaired. It has been over six months and no work has been done. They still have my deposit and will not even return my calls. HomeAdvisor claimed to have 26 certified reviews for A+ Concrete. I doubt it since the BBB now rates them D-.

I went to HomeAdvisor to research the cost of an electrical project yesterday. They weren't able to give me any quotes and I have received 4 emails and a text message since then (less than 24 hours). None of which have included estimates.

I needed Appraisal/Rental Schedule Services for my mother's home. HomeAdvisor provided only the professionals that fit my needs. Normally, I do not like to use these online services cause every Tom, Dick & Harry start flooding your phones. I hate that! After taking my search parameters Home Advisor gave me 2 results and I only received calls from 2 professionals. HA is my go-to from now on.

Of the three companies Home Advisor put us in contact with, one returned calls immediately, one played phone tag before they stopped responding, and the last never responded. Great work from the company that ultimately got the job, which was completed in a timely manner for a reasonable price.

Needed two broken window glass repaired quickly. He came measured it and put it on the spot. It took one hour - quick and easy. He works with cash only - I would have prefer the credit option cause it can be pricey.

Found the business that I needed to solve my problem - came as soon as possible - price was reasonable - got it done right then - the door works better than before the spring broke because other adjustments and maintenance were addressed as well.

Was given the name immediately of two roofers who both contacted me within a few minutes. Both were able to come out next morning. The first company came out early morning, was very knowledgeable and thorough. Went above and beyond to provide me with pictures of attic and roof damages and explained what needed to be repaired. Explained two separate options for repair and provided me with estimate the next morning. All repairs and costs were included on their estimate.

Used HomeAdvisor for power washing referral. Contractor was not insured to power wash house. Contractor used too much bleach, harsh chemicals and steam heated water for supposed soft wash process. Left film on house siding dulled finish faded coloring. I filed a claim with contractor insurance said he’s not covered for the power washing services that were advertised on HomeAdvisor. HomeAdvisor stated they do not screen contractors to see if insured and also explained that contractors pay them to advertise. Consumers are not protected when using a referral service that does not prescreen and who provide contractor referrals based on contractors paying them to advertise. Consumers need to use caution and be aware that the contractors are HomeAdvisor’s clients not the people that are seeking contractor referral services.

Mold Remediation. HomeAdvisor was very prompt in replying when I was seeking a reputable company in my area to complete this project. I chose two companies of those referred to me. I called and spoke with representatives of both companies and was satisfied. When I have another home project, I will consult Home Advisor for a referral.

I contacted Home Advisor when our house had a bee problem. The exterminator sprayed the nest in the attic but we needed contractors to cut off the ceiling drywall and fix it back after the exterminator removed the nest. They did all of this required work and cleaned the work area properly before they left. I am thankful Home Advisor made it possible for us to find the right people, it was a great help.

Replace water heater. Removed old 50 gal system and provided a 40 gal replacement. Provided AO Smith WH, great quality. Even replaced catch pan. Excellent service by an expert technician. Quick, careful and thorough service. Highly recommend Gary ** to all my friends.

I hired Purified Paving who is not completing the work or contacting us to schedule an appointment. Having successfully used HomeAdvisor before I went on the recommendation of hiring the company to do the paving job. When I contacted HomeAdvisor I got no help or advice on how to handle the situation except to say write a review.

I tried to place a review of a contractor referred by HomeAdvisor on their site. I was informed that HomeAdvisor would not publicly post the review because I did not "hire" the contractor. I wanted people to know that I was contacted by the contractor and an appointment was set up for a quote, but he never showed up or called. I never heard from him again. HomeAdvisor indicated my review would only be shared with the contractor to improve his business practice.

I was able to locate a qualified Roofing contractor with many years of experience in the trade. There were online reviews from people in my area. Yellow pages just didn't do it. This made the experience so much better. Everything was upfront with no surprises.

Only 4 stars. I was leaving a review and received and error message. I did this three times and even after having help from Home Advisor customer service, I gave up. So after a week I logon again and was able to input my review for the services I requested. Other than that, the site is a wonderful source for finding good services for home repair etc...

HomeAdvisor gave us several companies to call for estimates for our gutter cleaning project. HomeAdvisor is easy to work with and is a great option when you don’t know where to start for services. I will use them again in the future for home projects.

I found searching for professionals very easy. Sometimes the follow up is difficult with Thumbtack. It takes a while to learn how to contact the professional after the initial email. Thumbtack keeps sending me notices and when I try to log in it says I have the wrong p/w. I try to reset and nothing happens. It's only been frustrating through this process. The professionals that have responded have been quick in response, courteous and make sure they let me know if they are running late or early which is very appreciated. I will continue to access Home Advisor to look for professionals for my household needs.

Our initial visit was a walkthrough and all matters were fully explained to me. The owners are reachable and return phone calls promptly. During the process, my questions were fully answered. I am very satisfied. Clean up was very thorough.

Contacted HomeAdvisor about mounting/install job. Based on the verbal description assured that the project would be no more than $200 (which was high, but an acceptable based upon verbal description). Of course, upon arrival if it was going to be more than the handyman should advised the customer. Handyman arrived and spent 3 hours mounting. He charged me $300 which is a complete rip off. There was no assembly required. No receipt provided either.

Small, 2 story house, steep roof with angles... Tear off old roof, replace damaged wood and put on architectural shingles for new new roof. Roofer was very good. Since looking for roof and finding our choice on H.A., I seem to be receiving 1 or 2 other solicitations per day, some from H.A., some not.

The breakers were blown the night before by a contractor doing a different, non-electrical job. They were on the clock and couldn't complete their job without power. Through HomeAdvisor, I was connected to a contractor who was able to send someone out the same day I contacted them. They were quick in responding and I like the professional they recommended.

Power wash wood deck. Stain and seal the deck. Dan's Home Repair was first recommendation and was a great choice for us. I will use HomeAdvisor again as it is obvious they screen the contractors for quality and price.

Chad Lude of Mold Busters Inspection Remediation was professional, affordable and stayed with the job until it was finished. I would recommend this company to anyone for mold removal and anything related to wet crawl spaces, such as installing sump pumps or French drains. Make sure you get a quote from him before hiring a large chain company that overcharges you.

After submitting the required information to Home Advisor they provided a listing of businesses that pertained to my inquiry. Within an hour I received several telephone calls from businesses that were interested in my needs. I utilized one of those callers. I will give Home Advisor another try for future home repair needs.

5 companies responded to our request for a quote. We received a verbal price quote from 3 of these companies. We only received a written quote from 1 company -- the one that we used. We were very satisfied with that company.

Repairing a sliding glass door that was jamming on the track and took considerable effort to open and close. They were very expeditious in repairing the door. It now works beautifully and opens and closes easily with very little effort. Big change from before.

I am a licensed home renovator with 20 years of experience. I have received numerous calls over the past two years from HomeAdvisor, looking to recruit our company for their local market. The salespeople, as typical, can be aggressive. I finally agreed to try out their program about 6 weeks ago. The entire sales pitch, contract, and sign up process took place during one phone session. In hindsight, never a good start.

Wood Entry doors had to restain due to water/weather impact damage as well as some other issues. In fact, the doors looked better than when they were new. Would definitely recommend again to those within our circle. Great Company! Great Job!! Great People!

Termite treatment and wood repairs are very reasonable compared to there quotes submitted. Crew are very informative and explained what needs to be done on the first day. Crew are very professional, explained how things will be done including treatment of termite infested areas in our house.

I googled home inspection (or) and Home Advisor popped up, found an inspector and dialed them and they (the Inspector) got in touch with me, from that point everything proceded forward. We set a time, met, did the inspection, while inspecting advised me of some things and after he was done I promptly wrote me out a check for his work and he in turn gave me a receipt.

We recently installed marble that was advanced into the bathroom. Despite raising the glass shower door, it was still difficult to open the door as it was tight and scratching the marble. I used HomeAdvisor who gave a contractor a 4.5 RATING to build a deck. He came right away, set up a contract for $2200, took half as a deposit $1100 and never did any work. I took the contractor to court, won and still have not been able to get my money back. Contacted HomeAdvisor and was informed that they are not responsible for what they advertise. I Googled the contractor and found that he has SCAMMED other people including the IRS, and has been evicted. HomeAdvisor leads you to believe that they vet their contractors. DO NOT USE HOMEADVISOR.

One overcharged for $10k and fortunately refunded it back to me, as he doubled charged for everything, and the other for $500. Charged Outrageous amounts for small jobs. Both contractors had subcontracted to uncaring people who lost, and damaged personal belongings. They both had poor workmanship, and neither inspected their employees workmanship. Neither finished their job. Just left my house a dirty, unfinished mess, took their money and said, "Bye. We're done." Charged me for work not done. When Someone asks for a handyman quit sending them contractors that want to rip people off to justify wasting their time on small jobs. I don't know how HomeAdvisor check out the so call professionals that they recommend. I would never ever use them again or anyone they recommend!!!

The owner of the company was the one who came and did the work and took great care in making sure the job was done correctly and thoroughly cleaned the area when the job was complete. I chose the first person who called me for grass cutting because the price was fantastic. I'm still waiting on the quote for the painting, but I think I gave him the wrong email.

Hired a firm to install a coffered ceiling in our 2 story family room. Used HomeAdvisor to find Trim the Carolinas and they did a terrific job. Job was somewhat tricky due to the ceiling height and a large ceiling fan. That was not a problem for Trim the Carolinas. Very pleased with the end result.

Carpet Cleaner. Charles is a nice person and did a great job, great price, and done in a timely manner, just had to do a few spots over that needed extra effort - I added on some work and he did it the same day.

I constantly received leads I'm not licensed to perform. Then the battle starts "which is a complete waste of my time" to get credit for the lead. Then they have so many stipulation on when and how to get credits. It's pathetic. By the way I only do one service. Inspect home for real estate transactions. I don't do 100 different things. I should not get any bad leads. 2. A lot of the leads that are for my service are not properly scanned either. I get calls that say I'm thinking about buying a house. Boom there's a lead got to try to get credit for. Or I'm thinking about building a house. Can you inspect it. It just goes on and on. I'm sick of them.

I was searching a painter to refresh my wooden deck. Couple of years ago I performed this work by myself and the quality of paint was still good, but needed better, more fresh look. Found a few names of contractors on the net and called there. Unfortunately the call were transferred to "HomeAdvisor". A person who replied was polite and proposed to follow their advice for contractor in this field and in my area. One of the contractor arrived to my place to make an estimation. In the process of discussion the contractor mentioned that he has to pay substantial sum to HomeAdvisor for advertisement of his service. (And as a result this extra-expenses he has to cover by increasing the price for his work to the customer). When I received an offer from this contractor I was shocked how astronomically high ($1200) it was.

I checked for plumbers before on HomeAdvisor and was always pleased with their recommended pros. I was contacted by several of the pros within about 10 minutes after my initial request. The water heater was leaking and needed to be replaced. We also had to have a PRV valve installed because the place where the valve was suppose to have been installed was bypassed.

I am not happy with the unsolicited call backs when I just need the contact information for companies. I prefer to call them, not them call me. It is very annoying to received pestering calls. For example, when I ask about "contractors in my area" online for simple painting contractors or carpenters, I receive calls from contractors that I did not call. The option online is to give my phone number or they don't provide any information. But I don't want them to call me. "Don't call us, we'll call you" is my preference.

We were very pleased with the one of the three companies we selected to get quotes from. We heard nothing back from the other two. It worked out very well, we are very happy with Kut Masters Lawn Service. Those guys are fantastic. But I was disappointed to only hear back from one.

I messaged 4 providers whose names were provided and heard back from 3. Two of them showed up to provide estimates. After reading all of their reviews, I went with the one who seemed most professional and had positive reviews even though his price was higher. I found communication to be somewhat of a problem due to second language skills but it was not a deal breaker.

He didn't try two up sale me either... gave four estimates for the range of coolers I could purchase. Did exceptional work and fit my install into his schedule. This place is a really big scam for people who use this service. They don't tell you that you will be charged fees for leads, they just tell you that you have a yearly membership and that they will put your company on their website. I am so horribly angry at the outrageous prices they charge for people to get your information. I would have stuck with a phone book if I had of known.

6/8 Contractors referred by Home Advisor DO NOT call back. I have attempted to find landscape, fence, painting, and flooring contractors through HomeAdvisor. I have set appointments with the few who actually responded to my requests for quotes. All of them failed to call or show up at agreed time, except one landscape contractor called to cancel after the scheduled time of arrival, and finally Vito's Roofing did follow up and did get the roof repair done.

HomeAdvisor was very good as I got contacted right away with at least three companies and they followed through. They also called me a week later to find out if I found a company. The technician was very good and efficient.

We were looking around to see if we could get an online estimate to take a look at my wall air-conditioner. Booked an appt that I didn't mean to, and immediately tried to cancel. Site now says it won't cancel. I have to call the number. I called the number to cancel, she was very rude and said she could not cancel that I had to call HomeAdvisor directly (mind you, I called the number displayed) and she hung up on me while I was talking. Called HomeAdvisor, waited on hold just a bit but then it was finally canceled. I found this to be very pushy and time-consuming, sad part is we were considering using the service but now will find another way to get the AC serviced.

I hired a contractor referred to me by HomeAdvisor. He delayed the job and eventually told me to pay sub contractors directly since he ran out of money, mind you I was not late on a single payment. He then abandoned the job. He also charged me a large lump sum upfront, which I found out through my dealings with the State Contractors Board is a violation. It is now about 2 years later and I am stuck with a half finished home that has mold. Do not use HomeAdvisor for a referral!

Quickly found a great home inspector at a good price. I was able to quickly schedule the inspection. Saved me a lot of money because my realtor recommended a home inspector for $400 but I cut that in half by using HomeAdvisor.

Concrete stabilization and repair. The HA recommended firm was professional from bid to finish. The foreman educated me about the challenges of my property and the likelihood of difficulties down the road. Though covered by warranty, having this knowledge will lead me to strengthening my retaining wall.

Those of you who are considering using HomeAdvisor need to BEWARE. HomeAdvisor claims to be "free", however, they are being paid by the companies/individuals which are receiving the leads provided by HomeAdvisor. Therefore, HomeAdvisor is pumping out leads (as many as 5-10 per inquiry), with no incentive to maintain an actual database of truly professional contractors. They claim to only use contractors that have been verified (Licensed/Background Check, Etc.). This is not true.... They will take anyone who will pay them for the lead. Therefore, they may be sending an inexperienced contractor, or criminal to your home.

Concrete Patio Pour. This company (Sterling Concrete Inc.) was very professional. They showed up on time, did a great job of pouring my patio concrete, and were friendly and open to suggestions. I would hire them again.

The job took a little longer than expected, but there is no doubt about the result. EVERYTHING they said they would do, they did! And everything looks fantastic. I was looking for somebody to buy and install blinds. I was given a couple of companies with ratings for each company. This ratings helped me decide which companies to contact. I contacted three of the companies recommended and out of that I picked one. I was very happy with the company and chose to get my blinds from.

The job at hand was to provide access for a handicapped person to a building at the back of my property that I intend to use as an entertainment area. The original plan was for a ramp to a paver patio that was adjacent to the building. Instead I modified to plan to put in a stair lift to provide access to the patio.

I haven't used them often but the few times that I did I was able to find someone to do what I had in mind. The only caveat is that just because you select a schedule time it doesn't mean that the company REALLY will come that day - they have to see what is available on their end.

I’ve used HomeAdvisor for a few jobs. One turned out well (install a dog fence); others not so well. One “carefully vetted pro” turned out to be a bit unbalanced, money hungry (as he is still going through bankruptcy) who was quick to pick up a check and pad the bill. We ended up firing him 90% of the way through our job of deck install, when the cash outlay hit 4x his estimate.

I would rate this service higher but I don't like how my name and phone number was given to contractors I didn't invite. If HomeAdvisor didn't do it directly then it must be through some other way. It may be written in the fine print but they sure do not be completely open about it.
