Home Advisor had my order, paid upfront, for 5 days then called 2 hours before work to be done to postpone for another 5 days. That is contrary to all advertisement... Lousy management left me with no electric for my full freezer.

Extremely professional and communicative. Great finished product. Paul was very thorough and was very easy to work with. After pressure washing my home, the entire area was cleaned up and spotless. The painting process was painless and last minute trim location changes were completed without any hassle. They came by the day after completion to ensure the project was completed to my satisfaction.

The owner of Laminate Countertops, Inc. was polite, professional and worked with me on the price of the job. If I were able to remove the old laminate and uninstall and reinstall the sink, they would work with me on the price. This was very appreciated. The new countertops look so sharp and nice. I am so happy with the work Laminate Countertops did for me.

A/C Installation flawless. Our pro was a pro. I have used Home Advisor multiple times and have been completely satisfied. It is an easy process and eliminates endless phone calls to find the right pro. I will be using Home Advisor again. Quick, easy and worthwhile.

The times I have used Home Advisor, it has been a good experience. All the people I have hired from their recommendations have done a great job. I will continue to use them for future projects I need to hire someone for.

Gutter Cleaning. Pleasantly surprised, first time user. They connected me with a qualified firm and the work was excellent. I will certainly use them again, much better than 'guessing' who should do my construction/repairs. I love the fact that I pay directly to the person doing the work.

I called Cooling Experts at 5:30 am EST and Steve answered the phone. He was on his way to the office, and called me back and texted me (which I missed...oops) to schedule the appointment by 10 am. Yeremy, the technician, arrived on time, diagnosed the problem efficiently and the house was cooling down in no time. He was polite and informative. It is a pleasure to work with such a professional and personable company. I would highly recommend Cooling Experts, Inc to anyone who needs A/C service. I won't use anyone else! Home Advisor always has the top pros ready to serve and get the job done, whatever or wherever it is!

Laminate flooring. Paul's work was exceptional!!! Highly recommend his work. The job was done in a timely manner and he and his help were very helpful. Paul's workmanship is absolutely the best. Plumbing. I was presented with several choices. I chose the one that called soonest. I was pleased with the outcome. The individuals that came to my home were great to work with and I appreciated their honesty and professionalism. I would recommend this service to others.

Exterior Power Washing was performed to my satisfaction and Home Advisors helped in finding a great company at a great price. I am happy that I chose Home Advisors, the process was simple and the website was easy to use.

Blown In Insulation and Spray Foam Insulation - I was able to find local contractors and fair pricing. Most of the contractors listed in the local newspaper never even returned my calls. A couple did show up to look over the what I wanted insulated. But they never replied back with any estimates or proposals. The contractors on HomeAdvisor did reply and I was able to make a choice. The reviews made it easier to pick a good one.

Arrived on time, got right to work. Knew the job and cleaned up all the debris. I also had other contractors here and the tree removal people did their job without my supervision or "interference". I WOULD recommend them to others.

Home Advisor saved me the time to look up and find an available pro. From submitting my job information to getting a call back took about 10-15 minutes, most of it entering the details of my job info. The Pro was knowledgeable, professional, and worked with my budget.

Exterior painting and wood repair. I have used Home Advisor several times and always have wound up with a great team and a job well done in the end. It really did take away hours of phone calls and asking friends and neighbors who to reach out to. Matter a fact, several houses were painted or sided on my block, and the Home Advisor recommended service company outperformed and came in at a better price. So I keep using them to filter through all the noise in finding my next service contract company to help me retain and add value to my investment. My home. They especially score Big this time with recommending M. L. Painters, these guys were small but delivered big. They hit this project out of the park!

Home Advisor "pre-screens" contractors for their suitableness for a home project. Recently, a "pre-screened" contractor by Home Advisor scammed us. A web search and background check revealed that the contractor has been scamming homeowners in the area for a long time (more than 10 years). Therefore, if you use Home Advisor services, you must "screen" contractor yourself for background and financial fraud.

Deck Repair. The process include power wash, replace the wood board, sanding and staining of the deck. It was confusion at beginning, because the first service just wash the deck and does not follow up with sanding and staining service. Then I book the service again, and the job finished wonderfully. First service, power wash: $320. Sanding and staining: $1200.

I needed a small backyard design and renovation project. I hired a company that included, design drawing, pavers, plants, gravel, lighting fixture, fence gate, and workmanship. Once the job was finished, I was astonished by the end product. They worked fast, on-time, took care of every detail, and left everything clean at the end of each day. I LOVE my new backyard! You definitely get what you pay for.

Home Advisor is my GoTo site for home renovation projects. I have tried to find contractors on my own using the internet but end up with Home Advisor as I can read the reviews and make a better educated 'buy' decision.

Whenever I need to hire work for home projects I always reach out to Home Advisor. I've had very good luck with everyone I've hired and the site is easy to use. I will continue to look on Home Advisor for all of my home project needs.

AV upgrade. We received an immediate response from the contractor - would not have found them if not for HomeAdvisor. Very happy with how the system worked. Will turn to HomeAdvisor again for project recommendations as we find more and more to do!

Used Home Advisor to find someone to fix AC after hours. They provided me with 3 local businesses that would come after hours. The first business I contacted called me within seconds, and was at my house 4 hours later at 9:30 pm.

My only problem was that the form kept insisting that I wanted a new roof on my home. I did that less than one year ago. There was no option for replacing a shed roof. Several callers said they used satellite imaging to see the size and condition of my roof. One gave me a price of over $17,000. That's $7 more than I paid for my new roof and $16000 more than I paid for my shed roof.

I requested bids from 2 other contractors who never even bothered to call me. How would I rate this on their files?? I would like to alert others to this problem with these contractors. I am lucky that First Choice did contact me.

Very impressed with Home Advisor. Will be using again and highly recommend this service!!! It is so nice to have someone closely monitoring and following up on contractors, making sure they contact you quickly, and will work to resolve any issues. Eric @ Alpha HVAC Services did a fantastic job repairing all 3 of my AC units. Very professional and respectful, and fairly priced. I would highly recommend his services to any of my neighbors, family and friends. Under the circumstances he and his helper were working at outside temps of 95 degrees and at least 120 in the attics. Admirable and dedicated.

Repaired one section. About 5 ft of wooden fence material.. Job done efficiently, earlier than the agreed upon time. Very nice person. Respected social distance due to the current Covid 19 guidelines. I find Home Advisor to be very responsive. I received a list of contractors in very short order.

After a number of successful Home Advisor usages over the past year, from concrete to landscaping, I had anticipated that the set price booking would be an ideal way to save money and have a new entry door installed at my residence in Ventura, California, and in this instance, I couldn't have been more mistaken. (My apologies for the belated review from late April 2020, but working in healthcare during the pandemic has not left much time for follow up after 3 exhausted attempts to no avail).

Truly surprised by how simple it was to get my project completed. I was contacted by 2 pros within hours of posting. I would recommend the site to anyone who didn't have to equipment, experience, or time and wanted to have pros bid for their services. Overall, I had a good experience and will be using it again for future projects.

They two employees were friendly, on time, and hardworking. Answered all questions and cleaned up all of the debris from cleaning our gutters. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Our next door neighbor hired them and they showed up the next day to clean their gutters. We likely will hire them to clean our windows in the fall.

I needed a painter to paint the walls and ceiling of the garage. I didn't know where to start so I used Home Advisor. I put in the information, and within minutes I received a quote. I was happy with the pro that contacted me. I will recommend Home Advisor to friends and neighbors.

Hired Contractor Andrew ** through HomeAdvisor after receiving 2 quotes from Pluming Companies in the area which were way out of our budget but we need our boiler and water heater replaced due to a faulty old boiler that caused a water pipe to burst last winter. Andrew responded within minutes of my submission to HomeAdvisor, he came to our house within minutes, he was prompt, personable, honest and professional. We didn't have to wait for his quote like I had to for the others. I had waited up to 1 month for my quote from the initial company that came out to assess the damage and do some repairs on the faulty boiler (to the tune of $2000.00-patch job), which didn't even work!!

I was told when I called it would be $200 but he charged me $300 and never gave me an invoice. I think he over charged me and kept the balance. Without the invoice I can't prove anything though. Please be aware. With Covid-19 going on I know I certainly can't afford to pay an extra $100. Can you?

Housepainting. My son informed me that he had experienced good experiences with Home Advisor, so I contacted them. The suggestions came right away, and I got two estimates. One excellent one and one who never submitted a written bid. I was very pleased with my choice, and the painting was done in a timely and turned out great! Since I am a Senior Citizen, I will need help in future projects, and will definitely contact Home Advisor again.

Replacement water heater. HomeAdvisor provided two plumbers which responded to my inquiry. Both came out within a day. 1 was less than impressive but provided an education. The second which was used had quoted the same thing at a lower price and included items which were extra and optional from the first. Do It Right who I had hired was professional, fast and kept me updated on the status.

3 stumps and cut down one big tree. HomeAdvisor is good and respond back fast. They gave me a lot of people to choose from. They keep in contact with me to see if have pick a company or if I have heard from anyone. All the companies they gave me were good reviews.

In an act of desperation I went to Homeadvisor (located on a google search) and decided to give it a try. I opted to have all 5 recommended companies contacted at the same time. Only received one call from BENLE heating and air. The service rep. was very prompt, communicative, and thorough. Yesterday, I Started making calls to local companies only got answer machines or promises to pass this issue to "dispatch" which yielded nothing. Homeadvisor got me a call back in 30 seconds AND a company who did a fantastic job.

Water Heater Replacement. Fast - Responsive - easy to use. Quick follow ups by contractors. Excellent tool to locate help in an emergency very fast. The contractor/business that was selected was 5-Star! As a first time user of Home Advisor, I was impressed. I am a satisfied customer!

Great experience. The craftsman who was recommended was prompt, pleasant, and professional. He was willing to do the recliner repair in my home which saved us the logistical hassle of having to figure out how to transport it somewhere else.

Even after we hired someone, Home Advisor continued to send us leads to other businesses. Building great relationships with businesses in our community is easier now. Replace gas water heater. Excellent work, FAST response. Companies called right after filling out the form request. One company sent a repairman to do an on site assessment. Mr Rooter was fast efficient and gave us a good price. We are pleased with the work and the service.

I was quite pleased with my first experience with HomeAdvisor. They followed up with emails to make sure I was on track with my project. And then asked how my experience was so they could keep reputable service people on board.

Unqualified leads 90% of the time....45 min waits if you want a credit and then denied credit. Leads come in that are not leads at all or are miscategorized and they refuse to reach the lead to verify what you say is true and bill you for it. This HomeAdvisor site is a big fat rip off to any business. Been on their site for 8 years and have to leave our leads turned off because it is so bad.

All gutters and downspouts were replaced around house and garage. Old materials removed from the property. Facia board replaced or repaired where needed. Consultation provided as to whether leaf guards were necessary or not given the needs of the property.

Needed a painter for the exterior of our house. There was only 1 company that came up, but they had a rave review & turned out it was from someone I knew & came highly recommended, so we scheduled an appointment through Home Advisor. However I received an email the following day that they needed to reschedule & we were able to do so. I received a follow up call from Home Advisor asking how everything was going & that they were having some issues with their site. I was in the middle of communicating with the company when it stopped. HA was able to connect me via phone with them to finish our conversation. I greatly appreciated them following up with us.

AC Repair. My service request was sent out to 7 different providers/companies. Only one company contacted me promptly by phone. My only suggestion will be to include a "no contact" service agreement when possible; and ask your Pros to wear masks, when there is a need to have contact with a client/customer. Overall, I was very pleased with this experience.

This company sends leads to contractor, all leads cost contractor approximately $20 per lead. Contractors are charged for all leads! Most of my leads were totally worthless, asked for credits and always told not possible! Total waste of money! The only company benefiting from their leads is HomeAdvisor! In other words they get the gold and you get the shaft! If you want to get robbed, then this would be where you need to go! In conclusion don’t waste your time or money, because if you do, you’ll be sorry!

Home Advisor recommended several well-qualified contractors to do my driveway job. I selected Doug's Asphalt Paving for the job and am well satisfied. Doug did a great job, was professional, courteous and worked with me on price estimate. Home Advisor has now sent me numerous contractors for various jobs and I am very satisfied with my results.

Damaged drywall in ceiling was removed with absolutely no mess incurred and new drywall was installed with tape. Workmanship was excellent - very satisfied. Everything was very straightforward and job was done efficiently & in a very timely manner. The price was fair and everything discussed beforehand.

Amazing job of the highest quality! The team showed up on time and they made sure that the job was fully completed to our expectations. The team was friendly and they sought out ways to help to perfect their job such as fixing basic parts of the fence etc. When I found out that the team was coming from all of the south shore I understood and expected them to come the next day, however, they came later in the afternoon and did a marvelous job beginning and completing their work.

Good quality system. Crew did well at respecting my home. Owner explained exactly what equipment I was paying for and cleaned up everything that was touched by the crew. I would recommend this business to anyone looking to have sprinkler system installed.

Lawn Maintenance contractor. First, the good news - HA helped us find and good contractor who does a fine job for a very reasonable price, and contractor shows up faithfully to the schedule we set. Slightly bad news - We were kind of bombarded by emails from contractors seeking to bid, or avoiding bids, or who did not want the defined job, or who were just fishing.

This experience was very beneficial. I needed a refrigerator because mine died one day and I was 4 days without a refrigerator and had to throw away my food. I received a response from Home Advisor immediately and Nolan was easy to work with.

Billing issues between contractor and customer needs to be resolved. Contractor could not get paid for work. Customer had to request refund from HomeAdvisor and pay contractor directly. Refund takes 3-5 business days.

Sump pump installed. HA provided several referrals with ratings and details. The process to sign up and receive feedback was relatively short. I really appreciate the service provided. I will definitely access this site again for other home jobs. Thank you for being there.

Roof replacement. HomeAdvisor makes it easy to find a contracting pro because they are all listed on their site. Just pick out a few and you usually get a call back or email quickly from each contractor so it's easy to set up bids and pick someone.

Pleased with the whole process. Would recommend to anyone. Presenter very knowledgeable and pleased with the whole situation and deal. Would be happy to do business with Them if ever have to again. Feel it met the need I for my peace of mind.

Dumpster rental. Compared the three (3) companies suggested by HomeAdvisor. All contacted me immediately. All were fair and reasonable. Selected Taconic Carting and Hauling based on availability and flexibility. Very happy with Lori's responsive service. I have recommended HomeAdvisor to my neighbors for similar services.

Always kind of nervous about working with contractors for the first time. I've been please the few times I've used Home Advisor. I've found their contractors to be responsive and reliable and plan to reach out to them again when the need arises.

Had offers within minutes of filling out request. Plumber used was professional, job completed quickly, response time was remarkable (plumber arrived early). Cost was a bit high with a service fee/trip fee of $85.00. Home Advisor is the only way to go. Saved time and given a few choices of Plumbers to use.

HomeAdvisor responded to my complaint filed with Consumer Affairs. I'm thankful management resolved this problem by refunding 100% of my payment.

The only part that went well... when I paid for the work that was promised. After that it took a long time to be contacted. When I was finally emailed, I responded like it directed with additional questions only to have that come back as invalid. I found a way to email customer service and it still took days to get a response. Called several times, system puts you on hold for 20+ minutes and then simply hangs up on you. Tried to call the contractor.. no luck there either... In the end... They NEVER showed up, NEVER called!!! But HomeAdvisor says that they did and will not refund me... my technology proves they are wrong.. but they don't care. DO NOT USE THEM UNDER EVEN THE MOST DIRE CIRCUMSTANCES.

Repair or Replace Home AC & Heating Equipment. My only "complaint" is that I expected to get referred to (or contacted by) more than two potential vendors. On the other hand, I didn't want to be inundated by a LOT of companies. So fortunately I was very happy with the company we went with -- and I feel like we'd have been just as happy if we'd gone with the other one, too.

Window installation went fairly quickly. Old aluminum window casing was covered over, should have asked about the process of installation. Was a surprise the day of. I wanted to leave the old craftsmanship on some of the framing, which they happily obliged. Good job for the value.

I was quickly contacted and scheduled for pickup of about 16 yards of debris. The crew was quick and thorough and finished the job under 1 hour. I can't comment critically about the cost as this was my first trash hauling job; however, the crew supervisor was careful in estimating my total yardage. I believe I got a good price for the job.

Another great experience with HomeAdvisor. A huge, 250 year old oak tree had to come down after Gypsy Moth Caterpillars killed it. Gagnon Tree Service did an amazing job. I used HomeAdvisor through Home Depot to find certified and insured company to install 3 a/c window units. They suggested 3 companies; 2 reached out to me. One was way too expensive; the company I chose was great. The installer was going to be later than the scheduled appointment time and called to inform me. I will definitely use homeadvisor again.

Pest prevention. The service was helpful to identity companies and know that they were properly vetted. The category was a bit broad but it gave me a good place to start. Both companies that I contacted were very responsive and seemed like good businesses. It is a service that I would be happy to use again.

Hired "Your American Maid" for a move in cleaning. Never hired a cleaning service but due COVID hired "Your American Maid". The whole experience was excellent from making the appointment, staff came on time. Staff did an excellent job and I felt went above and beyond making our home clean. Very happy with the service.

Bait and inside termite treatment, for the whole house, and a contract to keep the treatment for life, So the company can check it and monitoring, and I am worry free and my house and investment is well protected it.

I booked a moving contractor on Home Advisor.com and my credit card was immediately billed. The contractor reached out to me and it was obvious that they were NOT prepared to move my furniture that was specifically documented as HEAVY and LARGE and truck required. I gave them an opportunity to find additional resources - could not get the contractor to respond by phone or text the next day. I reached out to Home Advisor and sat on hold for a VERY long time - so I emailed them at 9:06 AM. At 3:00 PM I still had no response to my concerns so I cancelled the booking. I was immediately billed $15 for canceling less than 24 hours. This was a VERY POOR example of customer service and I won't use them again.

I have a subscription to Home Advisor so I get email from them all the time. I was looking to have my house power washed so I went to Home Advisor. I filled in the information and less than a hour later I was contacted about the job. Talk about quick and swift service.

I was contacted by "Josh" from the Price Fixed Dept. regarding my Project. He not only phoned, but emailed a quote for my Project. He was supposed to follow up with me 2 days ago regarding it, but he has somehow become invisible---and believe I know why. When I called back in to follow up with him (since he didn't do so with me), Skylar took the call and informed me that Josh had given me the incorrect info. To be clear, based on what Skylar is now telling me--EVERYTHING Josh told me is incorrect! My Project called for (2) glass windows to be placed into my french patio doors; that is the glass is to be replaced only. Josh gave (and emailed me) a quote to do just that.

Mowing, edging and he blew off the roof. Extreme lawn care answered immediately, arranged a time and day. Dexter and his son showed up on time, dressed APPROPRIATELY for the job and did an excellent job. I would recommend Extreme to anyone because their service and price of service were great.

I have used HomeAdvisor twice thus far. The first time the contractor was several hours late, but the work was done well. The second time I scheduled and received multiple email confirmations, including the day before. The morning of the appointment the contractor called at 9 am before my 10 am appointment saying that he would be late because his next job was 4 TVs instead of 1. I said that was fine. At 10:45 am, I received an e-mail from HomeAdvisor stating my card was being refunded. The phone number back to the contractor was no longer valid. I was not notified by anyone that my appointment was being cancelled. I attempted to call the HomeAdvisor 800# and after waiting on hold for 20 minutes, it said they were unable to connect me to someone to help and please submit an email online.

PetSafe underground fence. Home Advisor set me up with a professional to help us diagnose the problem with our malfunctioning diy dog fence. Until I used the Home Advisor service I was unable to find a company willing to do so. The fence is working great now thanks to the service we got.

I was looking for a project to re-key my place. I did an estimate on a Sunday night and got 2 referrals by midnight. The pros contacted me immediate. I then set up an appointment the next day. They came over early and finished the job within the hour. Excellent.

Pros: I have been pleased with the professionals whom I have hired. Fair & reasonable pricing. Like that I get several to choose from with reviews on each. So far I have not been disappointed. Cons: Sometimes repetitive responses from some of the professionals. I received over 20 from one I did not hire.

You sent me an email which said if I clicked continue I could see job prices-when I clicked on it all my personal information came up for various services which I didn't need and in less than 2 minutes I'm getting unsolicited phone calls from people in PITTSBURGH ASKING ME WHEN THEY CAN START AND I LIVE IN ERIE-DISGUSTING!!

I removed popcorn ceilings and painted kitchen cabinets and walls. We took three bids, all from HomeAdvisor's referrals. The range of bids was $6200 to $10,000. That gave us confidence that we got a good price when we hired the winning bidder. The company, CertaPro, Richardson. Did excellently.

Very satisfied with the patio installed by Ken's Lawn and Snow Service, LLC. The patio looks great. A little disappointed in the quality of the sod included with the project, and had we thought the project through a bit more thoroughly, we would have included restoration of the lawn in the bid.

Andy completed a tough job installing our new drop-in oven/range in a timely manner and cleaned up all the sawdust and wood trimmings. Andy even explained how to use the new appliance. Andy was very pleasant and did good work.

Home Advisor surprised us in a very positive way. Using their website is very easy and user friendly. It allows you to quickly state the type of work you are seeking. After we stated the work we needed, we quickly received several choices to choose from. Most of the recommendations from Home Advisor also called us to set up an appointment or offered to make an appointment on-line. We hired High Quality Wood Floors to sand, stain, and refinish 4 large rooms with closets, and 2 sets of stairs. They did an excellent job and we are very happy with the results. We also hired an asphalt company to pave our driveway, and are happy so far with this recommendation. The gentleman came out on the same day as our inquiry, and we hired him. The work should be getting started next week.

I was very pleased with the experience I had using HomeAdvisor. I received a two calls from the professionals the site recommended on the day I made the request. Two other companies that came up in my HomeAdvisor search never contacted me. I went with one of the companies I found through this site, and the job turned out great. I plan to use the company for future painting needs. I had one problem with the app when I initially installed it on my phone, but I called customer service, and the representative got everything fixed for me! Overall, it was a great experience, and I've already recommended HomeAdvisor to friends and family.

Garage door would only go up or down manually. The service technicians did what they had to do to make the door open and shut automatically. They did tune it up too to make it work better. Also, adjusted the light bulb.

Tree removal. I was happy to find a great service provider. The company was insured and cared about customer service. The owner of the company checked in with me each day to be sure the project was meeting my expectations. His crew was very professional and well trained.

Home Advisor was very easy to work with and was very prompt and quickly connected me with the service that I needed. Pumped aerobic septic system. The septic tank pump was also checked and found to be working. The service man was friendly and easy to work with and knew what he was doing. He did not make a mess and left the property clean.

Not all the companies were able to do the outside excavation portion of the project. I wanted to get a minimal of three quotes. I was able to get two quotes then had to find a third.

I was hoping to see some e-mails with basic pricing, not three different phone calls within 5 minutes, followed by voicemails and text messages. I was looking to compare three vendors' pricing.. HA did not line up anything for me. I have to do it all myself. I called a few guys looking for prices. They all wanted a list of items so they could size a truck and charge me. HA is supposed to vet these guys and do the legwork for me as their client and they don't. One of the guys called me outside of HA (Junk King) and set up an appointment, kept it and gave me an estimate. If you can avoid HA do it. This is not about the JK Guy. It all about HA junky service.

Very happy with the company’s responsiveness and quality of work. Home Advisor contact us afterwards to inquire about how the company did and asked us to rate them.

Summer home installation needed since we were not ready for full time habitation! Home was move in ready, but a system had not been installed! It was a one day installation where a keypad and several windows and doors needed protection due to blindsided.

Water Softener. Felt this to be a trusted site so much so that the 1st company that was listed near me I called, then hired. Having Home Advisor give suggested companies gave me the confidence that I could hire and not worry about being scammed, ripped off or taken advantage of.

Total scam. This company indeed developed a good, easy-to-navigate website, however, there is ABSOLUTELY NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! Also, the company DOES NOT return membership in the original way of payment. You will receive a store credit for the services you won't need anymore. This is very peculiar in our time and day. The laborer who was assigned to my project came late, came unprepared for a job, disappeared from the site without finishing the project. All the customer service emails are unanswered.
