We will no longer be using Homeadvisor as we cannot trust them nor the contractors they advertise. We hired a roofing contractor who more less ripped us off. He completed a small section of the roof which is still leaking. He was only interested in the money. When we tried to place a negative review on their website about this company (Alliance Roofing) in New Brunswick, they asked for all sorts of irrelevant information to place the review. BACKGROUND CHECK THE CONTRACTORS BECAUSE THEY DO NOT!!! GO TO ANGIE'S LIST. They're more thorough and have more reputable contractors for better price.

The Pro that called first was the one I hired. I put in the information that was needed for the service. In a very short period, I received a response, called the Pro, and had service scheduled. Reasonable service cost for the problem with my microwave considering the alternative to have to buy a new microwave.

Help with a ceiling fan. I Contacted Home Advisor for recommendations, they got back with me within a few mins with some recommendations for the project I needed done. I received a call right way from an electrician that they suggested and problem fixed!. Thank you!

Very inconvenient, had scheduled for water to be turned off and for another contractor to patch up the wall, but HomeAdvisor's plumber cancelled with less than one hour of notice and they had no one else available the same day. They did refund my CC, but the lack of notice on the cancellation caused a number of people major headache. I can't even leave a review for the plumber that cancelled because they won't give me his company's name. Won't use homeadvisor again.

I truly appreciate HomeAdvisor! I know they really verify what their contractors are doing because they are thorough and have asked me for every one I have used to rate them. It gives me a sense of trust that I know that they want to hear what I have said and they publish it for all to see.

Company recommended 4 companies, selected one from the 4. The selected company exceeded my expectations, prior to move and the move itself. The company recommended did what they had quoted. This was our second move in three years and by far the best!

Typed my problem and info onto the website & a professional called me back within moments. Hired 1st person who called. This is the 2nd time I have used HomeAdvisor. Had a good experience the 1st time so tried again when having an emergency.

I initially asked for a quote to have 2 new outlets added and connected to 2 separate breakers in my unfinished basement so that I could power my newly installed sump pump. I guess I hadn't hired an electrician in a while, but was blown away by the $1,500 quote I received. They were very friendly and accommodating to my house/schedule, etc., but didn't clean up everything afterward very well. I guess if I were to do things over again, I would have gotten a few more quotes. To summarize: very friendly staff, but very expensive service.

Home Advisor helped me find people in the area that can do the work I need. I am new to the area and don't know too many contractors or don't have a good source that will make a recommendation. The only complaint I have is that I got a response immediately and then they called 5 days later with a another possibility. By that time I already hired someone.

Heater problem. Fast response. A/c Pros did a fine job and were quick to respond. We were happy with them overall. Job was expensive because of leak in system that required replacement of refrigerant. My husband is a retired A/C tech and was satisfied they were in line with the charges. We would definitely use them again.

Hired a painting contractor through HomeAdvisor thinking it was safe and the contractor was vetted, meaning an honest business with quality work. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Guy ripped me off for $4000.00 and HomeAdvisor basically just blew me off when I complained. Had a computer chat and they said they would be back to me with a resolution within a week or so. It's been over a month now and after several unanswered attempts to contact HomeAdvisor regarding the incident I've just given up. So much for trusting HomeAdvisor. Should have gone with my gut and found a contractor through local people that have first hand knowledge. HomeAdvisor is just another hustle trying to get money from businesses and hard working people like me. Not happy at all and will never use them again.

Did the job quickly, polite and nice. They were knowledgeable, quick to answer my questions, cleaned up after. It was a small job but they had an idea of what I wanted and was able to install the garage door opener pad and get on their way.

This is the second time I have used a professional installer through Home Advisor service. Both of my experiences have been very good. The providers (a plumber and a fence installer) were prompt, responsive and kept me well in the loop throughout the project timeline. I feel more comfortable with a professional that comes with a recommendation from Home Advisor. I would recommend using this service from Home Advisor for any property owner.

Drywall and plumbing. I couldn't be happier, the companies recommended were perfect in every way. On time, professional, friendly and efficient. The prices were reasonable. There was no pressure to upgrade or have additional work done. I was educated and well informed as to the process of quality work and materials.

HomeAdvisor was able to connect me with a contractor I would have not found otherwise. I was connected rapidly to a competent contractor who was able to bid, start and finish the project quickly. I would recommend using the service for getting quotes, and at least estimating your next project!

Wow, this makes home projects so much easier than trying to do it all myself! I'll be using Home Advisor for lots more projects I have planned! Very easy to use, timely responses from vendors, and easy to use dashboard. Love it!

I had a good experience with All Pro Garage. They were easy to work with and their work quality was excellent. I would recommend this service to all potential customers. I sound like I am being hired by this company to say good things, but this is my honest opinion.

I was a bit skeptical about using Home Advisor initially because sometimes these services do not have the best contractors. However, my experience was excellent. I received three referrals, picked the one I liked best and the job came out great.

Tiling and vent hood installation. Prompt response and Homeadvisor recommended a contractor we were satisfied with. Mr ** was easy to reach, his guys showed on time and did the job professionally. Because of minor delays we even got a discount. The price was reasonable. He is honest and reliable and we plan hire him in the future.

I hired Premier Hauling to remove trash and items for Salvation Army. They showed up on time, did a fantastic job and took great care as to not damage my home. The crew was very polite and did a great job. The price was very reasonable for the work that was done. Would highly recommend this company.

Contractor was great - Home Advisor pricing way off. Contractor informed me they charged him $83.04 for a small job. Wasn't really in line with the cost of the job ($300). Craig's Lawn Service was on my list to call from a simple Google search...so it wasn't some kind of private list of awesome contractors.

Using Home Advisor makes ordering a service easy and confident that you are making the right choice in hiring a pro. Since I had used the same plumber prior the choice was easy to hire the right pro. The site is a big plus when doing home repair.

Immediate choices - each vendor got back with me right away. The second company I had come diagnosed something very different from the first and fixed it right away - well, 8 hours worth. Good to get a second opinion.

258 feet of old asphalt removed and 5 cement trucks loads of concrete put down. Fabulous job by Brock Specialty Co. Garret, the estimator, showed up on time, gave me a verbal estimate and followed up with a written estimate. Work started when he said it would. If weather delayed work, he would call and explain. Really a good communicator. Mr. ** really has put together a good team of workers that work well together and know what they are doing. Glad I hired this crew and would highly recommend them.

I was able to get our computer fixed quickly and at a very reasonable price. I have used Home Advisor in the past for other projects and have been completely satisfied with the people that responded to my request. I will keep using them for all of projects.

Had to have my boiler replaced. This was the best price, and they were very kind and did the job right. They were time, came the day they said they would and finished before I through they would. I would recommend this company to anyone that needs this kind of service.

I hired this plumber to fix my low water pressure problem. He provided excellent service and solved the problem promptly and courteously. The solution was a de-scaling box and a new water heater; he also gave me options for paying.

Two, very polite, guys showed up about 9:30, spent less than an hour cleaning the dryer vent (which hadn't been cleaned in 16 yrs). Five stars would've been given if they would've had the 3ft section of hose to replace my torn one. Now I have to get that hose and have someone place it!

We used a tree trimming service for about 20 live oaks that we found through Home Advisor. Talked with the contractor same day and he visited and gave us a written estimate the next day. He gave us a time frame for the work in which they made good the estimate and the work. We couldn't be happier with the recommendation or our selection.

Deck repair and staining. I was very impressed with the project from the first conversation to the completion of the project. We even discussed another project that I needed done. We had some windy weather and rain and he managed the the situations extremely well. I would very highly recommend him.

Having used Home Advisor for several projects, I have been pleased with getting three recommendations for companies that work in my area. Someone always follows up with me about how things worked out, who I chose and why. It is helpful and saves.

I have used Home Advisor for a couple of previous services and have always been very pleased with the prompt responses to my inquiries, the quality work and professionalism of the contractors. The Home Advisor app is so easy to use and their follow-up makes you feel they appreciate your business.

I get immediate response with several pro choices who reach out to me. All the pros I have worked with -- tree arborists, window cleaning, housecleaning -- have been outstanding and it makes me comfortable to use Home Advisor repeatedly.

We contacted Home Advisor in December 2019 for assistance in securing chimney repair work. I'm not quite sure HOW they manage to review the scope of work in a matter of, practically SECONDS, but we received email, text, and phone calls within minutes of hitting 'send'. This should have been a clue, but we needed immediate service due to chimney failure and the ingress of rodents and squirrels into our attic. One company, United Home Services, highly recommended by Home Advisor, contacted us and we had them come to do a free estimate. They took pictures of the damage and proposed a plan, and quoted us a price. However, before they could commit to the work they needed half down for a 'deposit'. That was $1100. We asked them to give us an estimated date for the repairs but they were vague. We were never presented with a true contract, and never signed anything, but we told them we wanted to proceed.

Jaras Maids. They were on time and did a wonderful job cleaning the rooms they were assigned to. No issues needed to be dealt with. They asked appropriate questions to get the answers they needed. They were very nice and respectful and had no attitude the entire time they were here. They did a wonderful job. We will keep calling them to clean for us.

They were quick to find me professional help in the area I was able to talk with the company representative and work out arrangements. I was also given ratings of the company, whick helped immensely in deciding which company to use.

I love Home Advisor, because has a great customer services and provide me to know companies that could do projects in my house. I also can read all the reviews before request a quote to the company. I like the way Home Advisor has set up the site about the company. It's great.

Exterior Painting. This is the first time that I used Home Advisor. All of the potential contractors I interviewed were professional. All contractors returned my call within one day and were onsite to provide a quote in at least two days.

We are very happy with our experience with Home Advisor. We have used them consistently for quotes and services, we hire and we will continue to use them as a valuable resource. We have always received very prompt responses from both the people recommended, and calls back from Home Advisor to assure our needs have been met.

Being a new business, I was eager to have a chance to get new customers. I was told that I would pay on average around $7 a lead. Thinking that sounded fair I agreed, paid the almost $300 yearly fee, and signed up. At first thing went ok. Got some leads that panned out, but I noticed that the leads were costing me on average closer to $20 a lead. Then a few months in something changed. I began to struggle to even get a lead to answer the phone.

Removed the area of bat guano and disposed of it. Two men here, sanitized the walls around and cleaned the areas of insulation involved with the bat damage, and restored the insulation area and the wall's surface in the attic to perfect condition. Would always now use the Safeway INC & Serge to handle any pest, etc.

I've used HomeAdvisor twice in the past week two different home concerns and have had two wonderful experiences with the fast response from companies and quick turnaround for getting work done. HomeAdvisor makes it so easy to submit your information to be able to get quick results for company names and their system is awesome since they reach out to the companies instead of you calling around!

I've tried Home Advisor and Angie's List before without much success. THIS time it worked great. 3 people called me back, and I hired the one that could get here the quickest. He was the best choice as well. Great experience with the company I hired.

Biggest problem? HomeAdvisor OVERCHARGES. The method they use to do that? They charge per click. They charge A LOT per click. Then they refer to this 'click' as a 'lead'. It is not. 83% of the time it IS NOT. A 'lead' is someone who is willing to spend money. Most of their so-called 'leads' are just window shoppers. They will not even pick up the phone and answer or return a message. DO NOT USE THEM. They will suck up any & all profit that you might generate from doing business through them.

They cleared the snow from my sidewalks and driveway. The end of the driveway was filled with snow from the city snowplow and they took care of that. They also opened up the area by the mailbox. They were courteous, on time and reasonably priced.

HomeAdvisor connected me with matching pros for my project very, very quickly - as in, it felt instantaneous that I got phone calls from matching pros. Each pro who contacted me was thorough and kind, and was able to offer me an estimate that helped me make decisions quickly and comfortably. I'll be back for my next project!

Replaced kitchen drain, bathroom sink and shower drains with 2" abs. Old pipe rusted through and plugged beyond repair from kitchen sink was removed and a new line attached to a newer main four inch drain which was in place and then an older main drain pipe removed and capped. All old pipe was removed and taken away.

Had 2 trees trimmed and groomed along with deep root fertilization. Work was done on time and with very good results. Cleanup after job was also very good. Crew was hard working and knowledgeable. Questions about tree health and care was very helpful for the future of the trees.

ABC Heating and Cooling. The company was very fast, efficient, knowledgable and polite. They answered all my questions completely. I would recommend them to anyone who asks where they can get good HVAC work done.

Tree limb removal. Outstanding job from start to finish. On time and very courteous. That is the whole crew. Very knowledgable and they get the job done. We would recommend this company to anyone. For there being a storm it took a few days to get here but we understand they are very busy after a storm. Job well done.

Helping with finding tree trimming. HomeAdvisor is great, it's easy to get the help that is needed. I would recommend using Home Advisor, this was the first time using HomeAdvisor. Was glad to see that it was easy to find the help that was needed.

I didn't know I was calling HA. I was searching google and called the number, but Mike was really nice and patient (I was quite frustrated after calling 7+ numbers and no one answering, or ending up at "call centers"). He gave me a few different numbers and I ended up getting an immediate response right away. With the way he treated me, plus the quick results on hits... I'll definitely be using HomeAdvisor again if I'm looking for a specialist.

Great service from the pro that did the work I needed done. I had them upgrade my sprinkler timer from a analog timer to a digital one and the replacement to my water pump was professionally done and in a timely manner. They took the time to teach me how to work the digital timer and answered any questions I had about watering my lawn. They also replaced my sprinkler heads and made sure my sprinkler system fully covering my lawn. I would recommend them to anyone who needs their services. I would recommend HomeAdvisor to my friends and family.

This is the first review I have ever posted, on anything. Not my normal M.O.. However I am a hardworking interior designer that was "sold" on the HomeAdvisor service..And I'd like to save another professional the money and stress that I have experienced. The concept is great and I even think that maybe their intentions are good.. However, the way their business is structured members pay for a lot of leads that they never even get a chance to speak to or earn the business.. In advertising They instill that their service is free: it's absolutely NOT free. The members pay. In my case I paid over $1200.00 to get $400.00, total, in new business.. And it's a lot of work to get that small percentage of new business. I have spent hours on the phone with Customer service trying to work with them.. If you value your hard earned money spend it in another market way, this one won't pan out.

We are very pleased with the work that your professionals did for us. We tried to do the work ourselves, but it's a lot harder than it looks, and takes skills neither of us had. I am thankful we have this resource to turn to when we need pro services for our home.

After someone hit my mailbox with their car, I hired Around To It to replace the post with the new one I bought. Marc ** came on the day I called him to schedule the job. It was cold and windy, but he got the job done to my satisfaction within one hour, just as he had estimated the job. Happy and will hire Marc again!

Tile job. I like going through Home Advisor for contractors. They make it very convenient to get a few estimates quickly and I trust that they (contractors) have been checked into that they are legit. Good experience! The site is pretty easy to navigate for me that is saying something! Extremely happy with the contractor we chose!

Computer referral was terrific. I will continue to use him for any electronic needs. Handyman One: called, said he'd have someone call me later in the day. Never heard back. Handyman Two: One of tasks was replacing disposal. After they left, discovered they had broken floor of sink cabinet. Complained via survey to HomeAdvisor. They came back and replaced sink cabinet floor. Did a very good job, but not there is a leak. Don't know if they caused it. Handyman Three: Called, seemed like a good contact. Said he would be in my area later that week. I emailed directions, gate code, etc. Have never heard from him again.

67,437.00 for five years of bogus leads. BEWARE!!!! Both consumers and contractors. Very deceptive business practices. Charges an average of 12,000.00 per year for nothing but bogus leads. Was offered a credit of 200.00... They stole from my company for five years.

About a year ago friendly guy name David called to sign me up for Homeadvisor risk free. "You will make money.Don't worry." Lost around $500 with 0 money made! No more friendly Dave. Just extremely poor customer service. Bogus leads which you can't even get refund on even if you followed all the guidelines. One of so called customers from homeadvisor started to swearing at me. I understood right away. No need to talk more and called homeadvisor to get a credit and idiot representative tells me I have to call that "customer" once more or no credit. WOW. Don't homeadvisor. It's a bad business. Almost forgot homeadvisor app not working right and asks you to call 877-947-3639 and you hold for 30 to an hour and give up and call back not working. Homeadvisor is terrible company that stole money from me. "Helping small business every day."

I found a nice little company called Quick-Dry but that wasn't necessarily so to clean my sofa and recliner and they did a wonderful job. I wanted it done right away so he squeezes me in the next day. The price was very fair so I was happy with the overall job.

I was skeptical at first and worried about getting spam. However, HomeAdvisor worked just as promised. Within a day I had calls from three roofing companies and we were very pleased with the company we went with, AND no spam! I will start with Home Advisor next time we need a contractor, but loved the company we found so much that we will be going back to them for roofing repairs or install when the time comes.

Great place to find exactly what you need with unlimited possibilities. I got 5 estimates and each one of them were professional and overall courteous. It was, in my particular case, better than the "word of mouth" referral I got from friends. Sometimes that's fine, but this worked better for me this time as the job was really big.

Heating furnace repair. Home Advisor had a fast and a reliable service. Thane contact person was friendly and asked carefully about what we wanted. We will be more than happy to recommend to a friends or relatives. Good job!

I used their fixed pricing service on Friday. Hired a profession to move heavy furniture in my home from a 2nd floor bedroom to the first floor. Filled out all the details, what needed to be done, what was needed to be moved. After hitting submit, that was the last thing I got from them. Kept checking my emails, my phone, etc. waiting for a confirmation, anything. Saturday morning, being worried that I paid and no one was coming. I tried calling the number on the website. I kept getting a recording that the hours of operation were from 7:30am to 6 pm eastern time. I called for over an hour starting at 9:00, and just kept getting "Please call again later".

****Warning**** Waste of time, most of your money will go to bogus leads, 80% don't even answer the phone or return your calls, they're already doing the job when you just got the lead? How is this possible? People were just wondering if there were contractors in their area, stop calling us because they claim they've been called by 5-6 diff contractors, we changed our minds, we can't afford it now, not the home owners but were wondering, the ** leads I've ever heard, no wonder they only have bad reviews (there should be a negative start because one is less than what they deserve) you have to work for HomeAdvisor to make money off your fake leads!!!! Horrible for contractors, do not use!!!!

I always go to the Home Advisor website to get information on contractors as well as other information such as the cost comparison of different jobs. I have told some of my friends and neighbors about Home Advisor. The service Home Advisor provides is excellent.

Replaced our old cruddy shower with the new LuxStone surround. Also replaced old shower door with 7 foot smoked glass shower door and stall. Surround soaking tub with the same luxstone that is in the shower. Replaced the old shower hardware with the new Kohler shower, showerhead and fixtures. During the process we had the shower enlarged by roughly three additional square feet.

Home Advisor is an absolutely terrible company. Our cleaning business fell for their scam and joined them with the understanding that we would ONLY be charged for leads that we approved first. Instead, we right away started to be automatically charged for leads that not only had we not approved, but that were low-quality leads in geographic areas we didn't even service.

I wanted landscaping, only responses was from handymen, After spending time finding phone number was able to get connected, WITH SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS TO EMAIL ONLY. At 5:30 PM received a string of texts. Could not delete texts, could not use cell phone. Called on landline, they were closing. Could not help and all supervisors had left for day.

This is our 3rd times using Home Advisor for home repairs. All have gone very well. Providers were courteous, on time and cost was competitive for all 3. The providers work was very good. Always look for services at Home Advisor.

My electric outlet failed and the Ages company came around the next day and fixed it. The man they sent kindly let me ask questions and also fixed the next outlet to the original which had caused them both to fail so I also learnt a few new things.

Our experience with this service gave us a great place to make an informed choice for the work we needed done. We had a list of really qualified people and plenty of information to compare and review so we could feel comfortable with our choice.

5 shrubs removed and area cleaned up. Shrubs moved for street pick up. Dug up to avoid damaging yard and grass. Thank you for service and format for obtaining estimates. I have no other comments to make at this time. Will use Home Advisor in the future. The providers were prompt in reaching out to me and when they arrived, the offered to do the work then.

This was the first time we've used Home Advisor and it was a simple efficient process from beginning to end. Would use again for other projects that come up in the future although we are moving from this address.

I would rather have the option to look at all the pros up front and read their reviews for myself for the task I've selected. Once I pick one out, then let you guys connect me to that pro. While having you recommend one pro to me right up front is nice and most people may like that but I really like to research and read reviews about companies before letting them into my home or trusting them to do work to my house. In this case, the roofing company that you recommended did an excellent job. They actually called the same day I put in the request and came by later that afternoon to look at the problem and put me cost estimate together. They were back two days later to do the work and completed it in a timely fashion.

Home Advisor has been a blessing to me and my family. Every contractor that I have contacted through home advisor has been excellent, professional, and reasonable with cost. I will contact to use home advisor to address my needs. It's so hard to find the right contractor but Home Advisor makes it so easy. I trust the contractors on their sights. Their site has not failed me yet.

Prompt referrals. I contacted HA about a "no show" contractor (Noble Handyman Services - see my review) and David from customer service was very helpful in resolving the matter and recommending and putting me in touch with Russell **'s Handyman Service (see my review) who did their job to my satisfaction.

Installed new faucet and fixed leak under sink. They were prompt. They communicated with me by phone to get exact information about the job. They quoted me the cost before work was done. They were on time. They did the job quickly and correctly. They offered suggestions on how to get prime on my well.

Replacement of Hot Water Heater. The A Team. What an amazing company to hire. They were thorough, friendly and quick. Hakeen, Bill and workers, I can't say enough. We were kept informed every step of the job. Had an old electrical problem which they fixed really quick.

Kitchen remodel cabinets & countertops. No surprises! Dan ** stuck with his original estimate price points and informed and guided us through Granite purchase. The Plumbing and Electrical disconnect and re-connect and new sink installation was smooth with minimal downtime. Therefore very little stress for my wife and I.

Excellent communication. Problem easily diagnosed over the phone. Didn't have to take pictures on my phone and forward.. Install was quick and easy. I didn't even have to be home. Paid with a check that day. Left my basement as clean as when they came in. I would recommend this company to anyone.

HomeAdvisor will contact the consumer personally to make sure you have chosen one of their contractor and you are more than satisfied with them. My experience with Home Advisor was 100% positive. The contractor that I used as a result of Home Advisor's services, A1 Builders in League City, Texas, was top-notch. They did a beautiful job on my bathroom remodel and I will definitely use them again. I am completely sold on Home Advisor and recommend them to others. I have an aluminum awning that was damaged by several windstorms; most of the bolts securing it to the house were pulled out. I called the company who had installed it for the previous homeowner, but they only install new ones; they don't repair them. I don't know if I would have found Sean ** if it weren't for Home Advisor. I'm glad I found him. Their rating system convinced me he was the man for the job.

Upon paying our lead fees, accounts receivable decided they would still send a bill to collections and close our account. We lost almost 2000 in business because of current customer leads going elsewhere and HomeAdvisor refuses to settle the situation, claiming we still owe for all the leads that gave us no business after they closed our account for a mistake they made. This is unacceptable business tactic. Beyond furious.

Cleaned one whole room and walkways in 2 other rooms. Great value for the price. Work was done by the owner and very professional. Carpets looked like new again. He showed us the water when done, oh my goodness; it was disgusting. Will use again.

I am a contractor that Home Advisor kept calling to sign up with them. I finally gave in when the sales person told me the money I put up for the leads I would be receiving would be returned to me if it didn't work out and I wanted to cancel. Well it didn't work out and I tried to get a refund on the unused money in my account and they said no refunds. I asked them to listen to the recorded conversation between me and their sales person, which is to there protect me as well as them and they said they had no access to the recording and I could not be issued a refund. Their customer service is just crap and I do not recommend them to anyone.

Easy to work with. The company which they recommended. Was top notch. Would highly recommend anyone looking to do a project but didn’t know any qualified companies. The process to find qualified companies was an easy process when I was working with Home Advisor.

Home Advisor states they verify licenced and insured contractors as well all criminal records. We found out the hard way our recommended contractor was unlicenced, uninsured and just just got out of jail for 2 1\2 years for running a drug ring. Do not trust home advisor's recommendations. Went out the hard way, they do not.

Sprinkler repair. Friendly, reliable efficient and pricing was reasonable. I would recommend anyone to go with Mr. **. Troubleshooting was done by looking at the pictures, He was punctual. I was given a warranty as well if anything goes wrong, he will repair it free.

Horrible company to work with as a business. They will give you horrible leads and even when they say they changed their mind before you called they will tell you too bad it's not their fault. I even had a "lead" tell me they were looking for a different service and called for a credit they said no that I need proof. Told them to call the customer and they denied to do that to verify.

Been in Electrical & HVAC business for over 35 years. Have a computer with around a dozen of this type company. Call you up, wants your Licenses & Insurance info 6-months & $500.00 later They have changed names. No longer exist. Will not answer calls. STAY LOCAL FOLKS!

Septic pump failed. Required new pump install. Received 2 recommendations. Called the smaller of the two companies. Received excellent service and pricing was in line with expectations. Would use Home Advisor again. Will use contractor exclusively for all septic work and will recommend to others looking for this type of service.

We are a small GC in NYC and work has been good. When HomeAdvisor called and explained the process in which they operate, we thought, hell it cant hurt and we signed up. Something was up after the first lead. Let me explain the process to you. We called the phone number they (HA) provided for us and connected me to a department store. After the initial call they offer you chance to leave an app text message. No response. Waited a few days and then requested a credit because the lead was faulty. Customer service rep informs me that in order to receive a credit you have to try contacting two days consecutively.... Are you ** joking? This is how they get you. They have many rules, you have to understand the fine print. That was my first red flag with them.

Double Dipping Leads. Our recent experience with HA has not been as good since we began with them 4 years ago. Since Angies list and HA are now affiliated HA charges us for Angies lists leads and though I dispute them, there is always double talk on why. The answer they tell me is that the leads are computer generated and it is out of their hands. So we are leaving HA and staying with Angies List.

This place lures contractors in by telling them they provide valid job leads. The contractor is expected to pay a 500$ up front fee for the exclusive rights to pay more money per phony lead. Home Advisor/Angie's List has no actual contracts with these supposed customers nor do they ever collect money from anyone but the contractors who fall into their boobie traps. What they don't say is that when the leads are no good/customers don't answer or need the service anymore. You will not get a refund for the the lead that you paid for. CONTRACTORS BEWARE. THIS IS A LEGAL SCAM IF YOU AGREE TO IT.. Potential users of home advisor/angie's list please look for licensed contractors elsewhere..even Craigslist is better just look for a CCB#

I want to make a complaint about Home Advisor. They have scammed me in a unfair way. Let me explain. I started with them about December, Rally send me to addresses where I had 4-6 companies just like mine arriving at the same time. Also he repeatedly told me these leads were the best leads and it assured me jobs only to my company. False. He was selling the same exact information to these 5-10 construction companies. Also later on around the holidays I express to the supervisor that I was going out of town. He said “ok“. I left for around 31 days out the country for health reasons which again I expressed to him. I came back and my account was negative $700 plus the $300 when you first sign up. This company is the definition of a scam!!!! I am going to the Better Business Bureau. They need to get shut down now! I am for sure taking further legal action and will see them I court for fraud and misconduct. Please call me **.

This platform is a great way to be introduced to various local contractors that fit a homeowners needs. Unfortunately, this platform only helps homeowners, making it very difficult for a contractor to receive proper customer service. As a concrete contractor $50-$120 lead charge is a high price especially when you don’t get an answer from the homeowner. Customer service is terrible since they make it impossible for you to receive credit on leads. I am very upset with how they treat Contractors. Contractors are the ones that keep HomeAdvisor running since we are the ones paying for the leads regardless if we receive the job or not.

I used HomeAdvisor twice. The first time was fine, and we got a good electrician to perform the services we needed. The second time was a wreck! The website told us no providers were available, yet someone was dispatched and showed up. But then he left to get "supplies" and never returned to complete the service. We contacted the chat support function, which could not provide any assistance and only gave an email. We emailed, and received and response saying someone was looking into it, and we would get an answer within the hour. We didn't.

Tree removal. Home Advisor's reviews were accurate. I appreciated the followup phone call to check on the project's progress. We also discussed the reasons the the selection. One of the trees service had some customer service issues in the past on file with BBB, the other were perfect.

The first guy showed up and was here 3 hours then said he did not have the tools to do the job. The second guy showed up and said he did not have what he needed to do the job and gave me a list of supplies to purchase, he had another job to go to and told me he would be back the next day to do the job. After 2 weeks I found a local electrician and paid him to do the job. Very unsatisfied with HomeAdvisor they kept trying to charge me for appointments that were being set up when the job was not done.

Professional, I had tile work done and could not be more pleased with John my installer. All of Home Advisor's people should be like John. Response was quick, and I had my work done according to my schedule on time, on budget and no hassles.

Roof Repair. HomeAdvisor was able to connect me with an excellent professional service that was able to do the repair quickly and for a reasonable price. They also continued to check with me to make sure that my repair issue was being addressed to my satisfaction.

Home Advisor does not seem to actually provide any of the price quote information they promise. In my experience, all they do is turn over your contact information to contractors who will call you incessantly, (once a day or more for weeks) or even show up to your house unannounced to offer their services. If I wanted that, I would just reach out to a contractor myself.

Found we had a bad leak in our roof. Found Home Advisor on the internet, and they suggested several contractors to do the repair. The first one we called came to give an estimate within one hour. The job was started 3 days later and finished in one day. Great service.

I left a message with the first company, the second company I called answered the phone. After I explained my issue, I was told that someone could be at the house within an hour. Home Advisors gave me several names. They did not call me with pesty calls and try and up-sell me. No charge to me. I use HomeAdvisors often. I have never been disappointed with the service. They are honest.

I am amazed at how quickly I had several companies to choose from. All were highly rated. The companies got back to me promptly and I received three estimates, two in person and one by email, using photos of my project.

If you mistakenly sign up for any service through this outfit be prepared to receive a barrage of texts, phone calls, emails, etc. They push your information to their list of subscribing businesses who then push your information through to any call center in the world and you will think you've just signed up for a telethon. We had our place treated for termites. Had spray under our place and inside our home plus two sheds. Good for one year and if we see any signs of them again all we have to do is call the company.

Jerry called within 15 minutes of placing the request and came over within 2 hours to give the bid, I was impressed, his credentials were impressive and his reviews were wonderful. The bid was reasonable and he was ready to start the very next morning, he finished in two days. He releveled a 1971 short double wide mobile home. I would and have rehired him for other projects.

This company is a complete scam. They use the small business person trying to build their business and take full advantage and charge you a ridiculous amount for a bogus lead if people don't even know that they are on HomeAdvisor's list to be called or they just cuss you out and tell you never to call again and hang up. They make it out like you can pause your account at any point what they don't tell you is that you can only positive for up to 48 hours unless you go to the other website then it can be up to 2 weeks. There's no reminder that your leads will automatically be turned on. Most of my leads actually came in the middle of the night like 4 and 5 in the morning and then was posted as a uncalled lead and I was still charged $150 to $90 for that.

Dishwasher was not discharging water because the line had a blockage. Elite found the blockage and cleared same. Rerouted the discharge line so water does not backwash from garbage disposal and lay in the line. The line needed to hang and loop down so the water does not backwash from the sink. Very pleased that in less than 24 hours our problem was solved.

Backyard remodel. Of the two contractors suggested by Home Advisor Ourdoorscapes was outstanding. The other whose name I can't remember did not measure up. I would recommend Outdoorscapes to any one with a landscaping design and installation project. Pete has great ideas and will provide you with excellent service.

They tore down my old wood deck that took up a large part of my yard and was falling apart, and replaced it with a smaller concrete patio. The yard looks much bigger now and I'm very happy with the results.

I wanted this task done quickly, they responded quickly and arrived within 15 minutes, gave me an acceptable estimate. The recliners are large and heavy and I knew it wouldn't be easy. They removed two large stadium-style recliners from my basement, it was challenging. But they rose to the occasion. And they were pleasant company too.

Service Providers Beware. Home Advisor will charge you $50-$100 (or more depending on your location) for the name and "phone number" of a potential lead even if you contact the lead on several occasions and they never return your phone call. In the beginning you are led to believe you can request a credit for these leads, however you later find out that unreturned calls/messages and/or a homeowner deciding that they don't want to do the project are not reasons for a refund. This is a major scam and I would highly advise any designers, engineers, architects, contractors, etc. avoid using this service.

Fellows showed up presentable and on time. Diagnosed the problem and fixed it in a reasonable time for a reasonable price. Polite and professional. 5 Star Cleanly dressed men, obviously experienced. No oversell. I have used HomeAdvisor a few times. They have recommended good people, and I have always had a choice to pick from. Home Advisor is a good way to find responsible workmen.

DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH HOMEADVISOR. They have a class action suit against them for scamming contractors. We are planning to join the suit and we have reported them to the BBB and Attorney General's Office in Boston. They never reveal that for every lead that they send you they charge your credit card, we were ripped off for over $850.00 before we checked our account and we had to freeze It.

I really enjoyed the ease HomeAdvisor offered when finding a professional. I will recommend the service to anyone who asks. I will however also warn them of the emails HomeAdvisor sent my way every day - some of them I opted in for, but I feel like I received too many marketing emails (especially because I already used the service, I didn't need to be sold HomeAdvisor because I was already using it). Overall though, the pros outweigh this one con.

Top one on the list called me within a few minutes, had 100s great references, had them come and see my issue the next morning. Repaired on the spot.

Needed new gutters put on my out-garage and RV carport. Home Advisor helped me find qualified installers. I picked the highest-ranked on and the project was finished in under a week. Price was fair and the work and crew were first-rate.

Was able to find a good painter in my area and price range thanks to the good reviews and how the website is organized. I intend to use Home Advisor for other renovation projects for my condo. The painter I found I intend to use for other projects.

Washing machine repair. First recommended repair place said right out front that they do not work on appliances in an RV. Forthright and honest. I thought, "Oh oh, no one is gonna help us." But then Rocket Computer Repair, (Robert), called and it was all good after that. Homeadvisor.com sent a couple of emails to make sure someone was helping out, appreciated that.

HomeAdvisor quickly provided a couple of good options for me to choose from. They followed up routinely to make sure I was pleased w/ their services, which I was, and I would readily use them again on another home project.

Home Advisor purports to provide customers with reputable workers for specific tasks. The person that come to me through the website has 5 achievement awards and said they had 21 years experience. So it was inconceivable to me that they would be a NO SHOW. On the date of service, no one had the courtesy to say if they were going to be late or if they did not want to do the work. I wrote a review on the HA site and one week later called to ask when it would be published. According to the the rating department, it will not appear since I paid nothing and did not have a fixed contract. Apparently, HA is not prepared to take a professional response to consumer complaints nor to take remedial action on questionable participants. To only publish "paid for" comments is not what I expected from HA. Future customers - forewarned is forearmed.

Mold inspection. Mark was professional, thorough, helpful, knowledgeable, very prompt and helpful. Would certainly use him again and would obviously refer him. Very comfortable to deal with and discuss items. He offered suggestions on some other issues even on initial contacts. He came across much better than other companies

They removed the old roof. Then they removed the old moisture barrier. Next they checked the decking and replace some old pieces as needed. They installed a new water barrier, and new shingles. They installed a new air ventilation on the peaks of three areas of the roof. When they finished the installation they cleaned up very thoroughly. I am pleased with the roof, the price and the work.

New Windows of America was hired to remodel our bathroom. Everyone involved was very professional and met all our needs. We plan on using this company for future projects. We would recommend New Windows of America to anyone looking for a bathroom remodel.

Replacement of gas furnace. Prompt response. Excellent service from company suggested.. Furnace was very old and house had quickly gotten cold. Within 6.5 hours we had a new furnace up and running. As senior citizens, my husband is eighty seven years old, prompt service was important.

Home advisor is helpful with finding different contractors you may need. You can see how they are rated by people that have used them. The contractors that are interested will call you, so that saves time I think. Most are very aware of how their interaction with you could affect their rating.

Brad came to give an estimate and made some suggestions. We had an irrigation system and low voltage lights installed which look spectacular. The install team was hard working and explained the process as they worked and answered all my questions. They tried to be as clean as possible considering they were working in the dirt which turned into mud.

The service was GREAT! Both young men who came out were Helpful, polite and professional. I got same day service which was incredible and greatly appreciated. The cost was reasonable and I will definitely use the service again. I will gladly refer them to friends and family.

Emergency service to drain and winterize a hot tub because the heating unit failed. Called the owner on a Sunday afternoon and the service technical was at the house to do the work on Monday morning. They did an excellent job and I couldn't be happier.

Gutters and downspouts. Zach did a wonderful job. For anything we need we would contact him. Home Advisor did a wonderful job recommending his company. I would not worry one bit on contacting Home Advisor on anything we need for their recommendation.

HomeAdvisor provided us with several very good choices, and our ultimate choice proved to be excellent. I've used HomeAdvisor before and had very good choices and results each time. This latest set of choices was excellent, and we were fortunate to be able to choose Duane, who best fit our requirements and ultimately more than met them. Most of us want an excellent job at a reasonable choice, and HomeAdvisor has provided that to us.

We contacted Home Advisor in November 2019 for yard work - removal of leaves. On 11/2 we paid $129 directly to Home Advisor and scheduled an appointment with a professional for 11/5 at 11:30am. As we were both working on 11/5, I stayed home from work to assist with any questions. The professional had to complete the project. On the day of the appointment, an email was sent 2 hours prior to the scheduled time from Home Advisor advising us they were rescheduling our appointment to a new date of their choosing. The reason given was that a professional couldn't be found to do the work on the day scheduled. We didn't even learn about the email until after the scheduled time they should have been here.

Works great. Help to sort. They too many choices. Just speeds things along. Gives you price range. They contact company for you. Raised level of trust pest exterminator. Bug pest remover very good. Nice choice. Probably wouldn't have hired or found them on internet without app.

I ended up with two services arriving within minutes of one another. I paid the service that cleaned my home as requested and HomeAdvisor also billed my credit card for cost of service. It took me hours and days to get this resolved. All in all a very frustrating experience. Ultimately, they credited my card. Actual cleaning service was quite good....very good.

Hiring a duct cleaning service. My only problem with Home Advisor is, that they call all the time. I don't need the headache of updating them on a daily basis. If there is a problem with contractors calling me, I prefer an email follow up, not phone calls all day.

Refrigerator repair. Found a repair company that fixed my problem. Second company that I was able to find. The first company did a "No call, no show" so I had to find another one. The second company was efficient and came out.

Horizon Plumbing and Heating/Repair. HIred them to replace 2 existing toilets that were old and not working well. I researched what toilets I wanted and they were able to order and install them for me. They are a large company,- have schedulers, phone reps, and many tradespeople that work for them. Very professional.

So I went online and applied to Home Advisor. I was given several names along with a brief statement about each. No calling me, and the process worked for two reasons no excessive company calls and the list of companies were top notch. I could make the decisions without added pressure. Now I am more inclined to use Home Advisor. The way the world is today, I will always be a bit cautious, but I believe that I can grow to trust Home Advisor.

I used Home Advisor to find someone to replace a water heater that was several years old. I was given 3 companies to deal with in a matter of minutes. One contacted me 20 minutes after I put in the information for my needs. The other one contacted me 5 hours later. This was a Sunday. The third never responded. I was asked to do a survey before the work was complete by a representative of HA before the work was complete. That's insane and why you got 4 stars instead of 5.

Needed a electrician for emergency meter repairs on my out of state vacation home and was having trouble getting callbacks since I had an out of state number. Home Advisor connected me with a electrician and project was done within four days.

They were on time and did a great job. He gave me a discount for being in the military. I will recommend them for any plumbing job. He finished the job in about 2 hours and showed us how to clean up.

The gentlemen in charge who came to give me the estimate was extremely nice and professional, his name is Miguel. The quote was a bit high for 2 small rooms but I wanted the rooms done as soon as possible as Christmas was right around the corner and I figured you get what you pay for. He charged me 1900.00 and 3 percent extra because I used a credit card to pay for the job. I thought that was awful but I paid. His worker was nice but I wouldn't use them again. I called Miguel because the baseboards that he put were so thin and so cheap it made the floors look awful. Miguel said he was trying to give me a break. I also said they didn't bother leaving any spare wood in case somewhere down the road I might need extra.

Leaf removal. I hired the second listed pro of those that were sent to me. One pro I contacted never got back to me. Whenever I choose to use this site I usually am able to get exactly what I want....a professional who does quality work. I will use the service again.
