I have used HomeAdvisor for many home projects but today was a disaster. I was required to pay Home Advisor before the service was done which I did not have a problem with initially but then the workers came and wanted to be paid for the work. We had multiple phone calls from companies wanting to schedule the job with us and another company actually showed up at our door to do a project that I did not even request. When I called Home Advisor about getting a refund I had to talk to someone who barely spoke English and there was a significant communication problem. Except for the gentlemen who came out and took care of the job I wanted done this whole experience has made me wonder whether or not to use Home Advisor again.

Deck Pad Extension and walkway. Great service from beginning to clean up. They were pros but more important they really know their business with great attention to detail and so nice they will be friends for the rest of our lives.

It was very easy to find a duct cleaning pro using HomeAdvisor. I filled out all required information and within 45 minutes I had three responses by telephone and two by email. This is the first time I've used HomeAdvisor and I plan on using them again the next time I need a pro.

Tree removal and stump grinding. Although I didn’t complete and submit my info (I don’t think I did), I received 3 recommendations for tree removal service and was called by 2 of the companies within 2 hours of not submitting my info. Otherwise I was satisfied with your recommendations. I would liked to have gotten the 15% discount, but I didn’t. I didn’t want to commit to a price and pay for the service until the service was done.

I am very pleased that I was able to get the service person I wanted very easily. They were very nice and honest. Also, I like the fact, very much, that HomeAdvisor vets them. Also, as I understand it, if you have a problem, HomeAdvisor will help.

Hello. Never used Home Advisor before. I was looking for someone to clean out 2 story home gutters and reseal seams. Thursday I scoped out the project online using Home Advisor, spoke to 2 different companies within the hour. I chose to use the self employed vs. larger company to support smaller businesses.

Great way to get project bids in an emergency. Within an hour of discovering a hot-water tank leak and filling out a Home Advisor form, we received calls and quotes from several plumbers. This made the process of finding a plumber very smooth! We will definitely use Home Advisor again in the future when we need to hire a professional.

Electrician. The company that was recommended by Home Advisor was a truly professional company. Did a great job. Was very pleased with our first Home Advisor experience. We shall look to Home Advisor for future references.

My first experience, with HomeAdvisor was very positive. The job initiation was very easy, and the recommended professionals were very responsive. My project was completed as promised, with no complications. I would give serious consideration, to using this platform again.

Yesterday I reported to Steve ** at HomeAdvisor customer solutions desk the fact that Home Advisor referred a floor grout cleaner who when called out to the home took an extensive video tape of the home in areas not relevant to the job bid. After a Beenverified review was conducted of the business owners name who came out to the site, numerous criminal charges were listed for the business owner including THEFT. Steve ** at Home Advisor advised that the contractor was recently added to their vendor list within the past 60 days and that Homeadvisor does conduct a thorough background check.

Shingles needed replacement after wind storm. I had three areas on my roof that needed shingles replaced. I called Home Advisor and received several calls from roof repair businesses. I will contact Home Advisor again for future work. It is a quick way to get multiple estimates for work.

Highly recommend. Home Advisor is the best! Very easy to use. Received at least 3 quotes. Helped me find a great company. Job is done and I couldn't be happier with Home Advisor. I was bemoaning the loss of the Yellow Pages, but Home Advisor is definitely better.

HomeAdvisor was easy, efficient and they followed up with a call after service. I was impressed that they do background checks on all companies that they refer to the consumer. I will use them for referrals for all of my household project needs.

I simply went on line and searched through the Home Advisor which I have done before. This was on a Sunday. I put in the request for the service I needed and I got an appointment set up for the following day on a Monday. Then the referral J and J called me and wanted to come out on the same day which I liked because my home was without heat. I live in the Montana rockies; it was cold. Jeremy came out and examine the situation, etc. I concluded I wanted a new furnace and J and J installed it the next day. I am satisfied with the service and quality of work at this point.

Furnace was pushing out cold air. The temperature inside my home was 55 degrees. Tipping Hat was able to install a new Thermostat within 4 hours. Very high price for the thermostat but I needed it immediately. I didn't want a top of the line but didn't want a crappy one.

Chris was prompt with all communication and with finishing the project. He painted our cathedral ceiling/high walls. We appreciated his help with a few touch ups that he spotted during his time here. We would hire him for another home painting project.

We have never had to deal with a mold problem in our house before so we were very anxious to hire someone and finally find out what exactly what was happening. Thankfully, the technician was very prompt and courteous, and he found the problem right away. He also gave us some very helpful (and money-saving) advice on how to resolve our problem. I would definitely use them again!

I have used HomeAdvisor twice to find contractors for jobs. One was a small one, day handyman activity and the other was a month long basement remodel. Both times the contractors referred were professional, did the job on time and with good quality and met the requirements of the request submitted.

They were professional, helpful and found the problem and corrected it. The problem was coming from my neighbor's yard. We then informed my neighbor. The company was able to assist them with a solution and fix the problem. Chris had everything that was needed with him.

Andrew and David did what they said they would do to get rid of an animal tearing up our roof. They were so nice, very professional and finally trapped the "critter" which turned out to be a raccoon. Will definitely use them again and recommend them every chance we get. Jersey Pest and Animal Control did a GREAT job. Can't thank them enough for ALL their efforts!!

HomeAdvisor gave us three companies that were invited to give us a quote for our driveway. Only one responded, but at this time with the COVID-19, I can well understand them not responding, I know a lot of placed were closed. We were very pleased with Rafferty Paving who did respond, they did a great job. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing their driveway paved.

Finding Stump Removal Services. HomeAdvisor gave me a high quote of over $350. I asked for the name of two businesses and found one $200 less than their quote. I was glad they gave me the names of two other businesses to choose from.

After I went online, HomeAdvisor provided a few suggestions and bids. Window Genies contacted me, we discussed the job, they presented an appropriate bid, and I hired Window Genie. Within an hour Window Genie was cleaning my gutters. They did a great job. I am very happy with the process and results.

With the current world situation defining our existence, I felt it necessary to install a camera security system. I used this system to locate a reputable company and after several conversations, decided on Bama Security. I wanted enough cameras to cover my entire property, IR capable, to provide additional security at residence.

Mostly satisfactory; I found that reviews are all that accurate or honest, but that's a personal decision to sort the use out. I don't like being forced to submit randomly. Sometimes the call backs are too much. Generally a good service and provides some comparisons for shopping. But nothing like finding the best person one's self.

Found a really great painter! I was able to get calls for appointments within an hour. Platform was easy to use. I got too many emails, however but it ended well. Fast. Being a homeowner it is often schedule appointments at a convenient time, but this made it easy.

Septic tank clean out. HomeAdvisor is easy to use, and they connected me with a local pro in minutes. The pro contacted me and came out the next day to complete project. They were polite and business like. I would recommend HomeAdvisor to anyone looking for professional services.

I received 3 contractors who quickly contacted me to schedule an estimate. I am very happy with the results. I am going to use HomeAdvisor for my next project which will be starting soon. I recommend Home Advisor to anyone who wants qualified and reviewed contractors.

I hired the first contractor on Home Advisor who contacted me (AC Drywall) and it worked out great. They were very friendly, did a fine job, and cleaned up the debris. I highly recommend this business for any drywall job.

The contractor Saul ** (Happy Homes) was prompt and very professional as was his crew that performed the work. The old roof (what remained after being torn by wind and rain) was completely removed and the debris was cleaned up and hauled off and the new roof was installed in one day. One word describes the company and their work - EXCELLENT!

Home Advisor referred me to J. Morales Lawn Services for landscaping. This company agreed to a price of $30 to mow my front and back lawn and an ongoing contract to come out every two weeks after the initial mowing. On 4/8/2020, Mr. J. Morales came out as agreed, decided after the fact he did not like the originally agreed-upon price and came up with some bogus excuse that my gate was too small and lawn mower could not fit. Further, he tried to make it out to be my problem that his equipment was allegedly oversized. My gate is the standard size for virtually all homes.

I really had a great experience using this service. The contractors were very professional and fixed all my problems in a timely manner. I received a call immediately from a contractor explaining to me exactly what he would do to resolve my problem. He then sent a proposal in writing explaining the job and estimating the cost after his inspection. The contractor went above and beyond to help me get the project complete. Always staying in touch letting me know exactly where we were in completing the job. I would highly recommend this service to my friends and family if they ever need to find a professional to works on their home or office.

There was a bit of a snafu in hiring a contractor but HA made every effort to accommodate me. Would use again - especially Castle Pro and Tom - he designed and built a fence for us, installed a storm door and fixed a heat vent.

I did not get the 15% discount offered in the email. I put in a request and had the first company on the line in 5 minutes. Because it was an emergency I had to go with the company and did not have the time to get other bids. It cost 7 times the price quoted on the Home Advisor website. The work got done and I have water again.

Great job replacing garage door torsion springs by recommended Home Advisor company. Work was done fast and complete the first time at estimated price. Phillip the technician explained the work to be performed, explained how to lubricant working parts to extend working life of door. Very nice technician who did a great job.

Water had entered behind the wrapping on the outside of the sheeting. This allowed water to enter, soak the supporting structure and cause it to rot. He took off the siding, braced the porch structure and replaced the supporting timbers.

This was an extensive project. Both Pressure washing (walkways, driveway and house) and painting 2 story house. All work was done carefully by the business owners and within estimate and time frame given. This team listened and completed project with an excellent outcome. I'd recommend them and would call them for future projects.

The job was to build a patio with pavers, which included built-in benches, steps and a beautiful fire pit. Tommy's Back Yard crew were experienced and hard workers. They also were very professional and respectful. Tom was very knowledgeable and helpful.

We decided to remodel our kitchen and went to Home Advisor to seek out a Contractor. They recommended Mitsi Builders, Crystal Lake, IL. The Contractor came out, quoted a price and began the job. There were numerous delays, personal damage, no shows, and constant requests for a key to our personal home while we were living there. When we complained after giving him a cash deposit of $10,500 and receiving very little work in return, we asked for a refund and felt we needed to part ways. This Contractor is an immigrant that became outraged, angry and volatile. When we requested a refund, less some minor work that was done by unlicensed, unprofessional, non English laborers, he disappeared.

HomeAdvisor recommended several A/C repairmen in my area. I ended up using one of their recommendations and was very satisfied with his work. Throughout my experience, HA would send me a record of all my text conversations with Hooah Heat and Air. This was helpful in keeping track of what was agreed on and when the conversation took place.

Pipe install. Great service. Very prompt, courteous and reasonable. My call was returned within minutes. I received a quote soon after I requested it. The work was completed the next day. I was surprised at how knowledgeable Todd was. I think we got a very good value.

Dryer vent cleaned. Quite pleased with the service. The tech was a clean worker and fixed an issue on the roof vent. He cleaned under and behind the dryer. He also helped me gain access to replace the water hoses to my washer. He went beyond and above in helping me out with that.

I was having trouble with my recliner slipping. Checked HomeAdvisor for repairmen and a local man was given. He called me promptly, was upfront with his pricing. Came on scheduled time. Completed repair, chair works better than when it was new.

I feel that you need to add more way to explain what you need done. When I had people calling me for my water pipe problem. They ask about my sewer line to my sewer line need to be camera. After I explain that still made a appointment if they could do the service. Everything else was good tho beside that.

I've had mixed experience. One contractor (a small local one) was amazing, and will be my first call whenever I need anything related in their line of work. Another one (a large regional contractor) was a huge disappointment and a waste of my money. Caveat Emptor.

Having a quick list of potential contractors was so helpful but the incessant emails and phone calls from HomeAdvisor was annoying. I appreciate the wealth of information available on the website and in the end, was so happy with the company I used.

Wire snapped and door slammed down to floor. After inspection coil springs also needed replacement. Owner explained every thing in detail and went over the support wires coil springs and why they need to be replaced. Garage door wires and cables were 17 years old and showed some rusting in areas. Good job.

Very pleased, I've gone on the website for 9 different projects. Of those 9 I hired 6 of their pros and would recommend all of them. The services ranged from lawn, removal, plumbing, electrical, pool, handyman work. They all were very professional, cost effective, friendly and punctual.

I had a leak in my roof, the put a new roof on. They were very friendly and helpful. Both contractors HomeAdvisor recommended called the same day I requested. Dun-Rite Roofing came the same day, did not pressure me but gave a quote on fixing the leak or put a new roof on.

My heat pump died when night time temps were in the 30's. I panicked. I went online and HomeAdvisor had an easy to follow form to fill out to describe my situation. Their recommended contractor called the next day and we started talking. It was a race to see if the manufacturer of the failed heat pump could fix it in a timely fashion or if the contractor could replace it with a more reliable unit. THE CONTRACTOR WON. They made us feel like we were in good hands during a difficult time. We highly recommend Property Plus LLC for any job they feel qualified to do. Home theater project for upgrade & outdoor TV & stand install. Vick audio was much more responsive, and much more flexible on the project vs. going to big box retailers and their services groups. I received a quote from a big box retailer that was about 6X what Vick was willing to do the project, because the big box retailers want you to pay for their marked up electronics and speakers. I knew what I wanted, I need a team flexible and capable of installing my design upgrade to Dolby Atmos.

The certified technician removed the mold throughout the house using dry fog technology. This involved making sure all closets, drawers, cupboards, and vent areas were penetrated. Areas with obvious mold spots were wiped clean that included wiping wood around the windowsills that had a lot of mold spots.

Great furnace replacement. Fast, helpful information; three companies suggested that would not have known about otherwise. Taylor was close and came quickly twice--for inspection and installation. A very good experience. Happy to use both HomeAdvisor and Taylor; I recommend both for home services.

HomeAdvisor has always provided multiple recommended contractors on whatever project I am working on at the time. Their contractors are reliable, reasonable, and always on time. I always recommend them to friends who are wanting help with their projects.

The person who answered, Steve, was very concerned and contacted the company which then promised to come out tomorrow and correct the dryer situation. This was good, because when I had called the dryer repair company before about the dryer still not working, they did not respond to me, but after Steve contacted them, they called me.

I tried to hire a contractor to repair my gutters through HomeAdvisor. Their iOS app says that I hired a pro, which is not true - I requested quotes from five different contractors, all of whom have yet to contact me. I spoke to a call center rep with HomeAdvisor, who couldn't explain the issue. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, she cold-transferred me to another call center rep (i.e., not a supervisor), who simply tried to blame the IT department. In addition to this, I've received a number of unsolicited calls and emails from HomeAdvisor which have nothing to do with my current project. There is no service HomeAdvisor provides that anyone with Google couldn't do for himself. HomeAdvisor is a complete waste of time and energy.

We have a house in the north GA mountains and had been experiencing noises coming from underneath the metal roof...flying squirrels. Contacted HomeAdvisor who linked me up with HomeFree Pest Solution Services & Brad Peeler. He was out quickly, explained what needed to be done (with multiple options), cost & time involved with the proposal. Once I agreed, he performed the services quickly and non-evasively then performed the wrap-up work with the traps he had set. So far, work seems to have been successful. Highly recommend Brad **.

When we needed a pro for an emergency. They provided a list of 5 pros in the area almost instantly. The pro we chose was the 1st to call, had the best reviews from other customers and complete contact information was provided.

This is the second time I've used Home Advisor. They are almost a monopoly here now. Both jobs worked out great and happy with the people that did the work. Great people. Problem I have is the bombardment of emails and texts from Home Advisor once contacted. Both times I had to request them to STOP, CEASE THIS. For that reason I use them when I've exhausted all other ideas.

This website just rips off hard working professionals that are trying to reach more clients. Bad leads: I have my company listed with them and about half of the leads they give me are completely unreachable. Another chunk of the leads are for tasks that my company does not perform and are not listed under my services. From the people that are really interested in the services we provide, a huge amount are just looking to get a quote for insurance or long term planning purposes. No credits for bad leads: When you request a credit for a "bad" lead (as defined by them and meeting all their requirements), you can only get 1-2 per every 3-4 weeks irrelevant of how many you actually got.

Home Advisor is an excellent source. Had one somewhat unpleasant experience with a refrigerator repair, but Home Advisor resolved the issue. Used them again for Washer repair and that was excellent. Today used them for a garage door repair referral. Ultra Garage Door repair, the best! Excellent.

I own a small lawn business in Virginia Beach Va, the last 2 years HomeAdvisor has been calling me continuously. I have asked them to stop on several occasions. Today they actually had the gall to call me at my home residence, I then repeated myself once again. I felt bad but they will not respect my wishes at all! Something has to be done about them.

Bathtub/Shower Replacement. Would use Home Advisor again, but would prefer they did not call so often. There were too many emails and phone calls. Emails that didn't pertain to my project, almost like they were trying to 'sell' me something else. Thank you.

Was given 3 great potential Power Washing services once I submitted my needs to Home Advisor. All 3 got back to me within a day and one was immediately and it was a tough choice choosing one. Would definitely use Home Advisor again.

Used HomeAdvisor to search for local companies that would replace a 45 foot section of damaged gutter on the front of our 35 year old two story home. Narrowed the selection to the top two based on customer reviews. Scheduled on-site estimates and hired lowest price contractor (half the price of the other). Very pleased with the work and now the gutter looks great and is functional again.

Our water heater failed on a Saturday morning. Googled for help and found Home Advisor. The water heater was replaced within two hours and it was on a Sunday. Home Advisor hooked me up with the right person at the right time. The fastest possible resolution to an urgent problem. Thank you so much.

Pest Control. I always get multiple choices immediately whenever I use HomeAdvisor, and the professionals I've hired for multiple projects have always been professional and fix what I needed. My adult daughter commented she likes whenever I get a HomeAdvisor professional because I've never had a bad experience.

We live in a rural area outside of a small city, and hours away from the closest medium or large city. We usually laugh at commercials for Home Advisor or Angie's List, etc. as there are usually no contractors in our area when we put in our zip code. I was pleasantly surprised to have success this time, and will again go to Home Advisor when I have need for a contractor.

HomeAdvisor has always put me in touch with quality contractors with very fair prices. I appreciate that the contractors really are sorted based on the job I need, and I appreciate the short list, and that the contractors contact me directly.

This is a great website to find professional people to help with projects at home. I have had 2 companies that have helped me with projects and both have been very helpful in teaching me things that I would never have known about construction, carpets and overall care of my home.

Shower glass purchase and installation. Very easy to use and find reliable companies all of which I checked out on my own. I also had a few other companies bid on the job that I found from other sources but went with one of the Home Advisor companies. Would use again.

We live in a country that required additional driving time. They did exactly what they said they would and they were very punctual and on time as promised. Completed drywall and patching in two bedrooms with a smooth finish. We had new wood floors installed before the drywall work and extreme care was taken to protect the floors. The detail was given to clean up and left the project completed with better than excellent work and extremely satisfied with Mike and his crew.

Tree trimming & removal. The professionals who contacted me regarding my project were prompt, professional, and making the decision of who to work with was difficult! They were all fair and competitively priced, available to do the work quickly, and the company we did work with did an excellent job!

DO NOT use HomeAdvisor!! I spoke with Maurice which said the leads would cost around $10. It ended up being $40-$160. They said I could cancel for any reason at any time. A lot of horrible things I can't say because they didn't give me enough room to say it in here.

I have been very pleased with Home Advisor and have used them several times. It is not always easy to find a contractor when you live in the country, and they have been able to provide us with leads on more than one occasion.

While I understand many people using the services provided by HomeAdvisors have been very happy, I would like to point out the other, not so pretty side of this company – the side dedicated to the experts/contractors. I was solicited by an Online Marketing Consultant at HomeAdvisor.com to join as an expert/contractor to help fill the "Many badly needed requests for interior design/home stagers" – my expertise. What was not communicated to me in all of our many emails and phone calls in which I asked dozens of questions about hidden costs, was that there are in fact HIDDEN COSTS!

Garage door and opener. You gave me 3 references. 1 I used which I was very satisfied, 1 never contacted me, and 1 was out of business. I went and got other contractors' estimates and some offered the product I wanted and some tried to sell me other products.

Leona's Carpet Cleaning. Cleaned carpets and did a very professional and excellent job. Appearance and equipment were spotless. Would not hesitate to refer to a friend or neighbor and would definitely use again in the future if the need arises. Totally pleased with the work performed.

I got quick response and get the job done by less than 6 hours. I had a water leakage at shower faucet and water stuck in the bathtub and sink of the bathroom. I call two plumbing pro and got an estimate of $1150 and another $559. I choose the lowest one. This is an awesome platform.

I have had good experience with Home Advisor! The only negative thing I can say is I tried to hire a cleaning lady to come in once every two weeks. It just didn't work. They either didn't show up, didn't work or the work was too hard, I finally found a really nice lady, she is still with me.

Home Advisor found a company to install blown insulation in the attic of a 17 year old home. Speedy Insulation was the company suggested. I contacted the operation manager, he inspected and quoted the next day. Scheduled work within 2 weeks. Worked clean, careful and safely. We are very happy with the results and experience with David ** and his crew with Speedy Insulation!

Kitchen pipes had been clogged for sometime with little usage, heard about Home Advisor for a reputable plumber, we chose R&M Plumbers Solutions, their estimates and work meet our expectations. Water issues in basement. Called late at night. Was connected to Ken ** fairly quickly. Frank was on the line at the time and he worked with me to go through my problem. I was very impressed with the quickness and honesty. Frank was very professional, asked me questions about what was the problem and gave me some advice going forward. I would certainly call again any time I have an issue. This was the first time using Home Advisor and I would definitely be using them again in the future.

The represented "Pro" was not a pro, he did not even have tools to replace the window I needed replacing, what a joke. This project costs me 4 travel trips to/from project to meet alleged "Pro" who either was sent to a town in Texas or showed up without tools. I spent over 4 hours and 160 miles of wasted time and expense for B.S. misrepresentations of HomeAdvisor. HomeAdvisor is a scam business who does not "vet" their alleged "Pros" as they represent.

Home Advisor has done a wonderful job in referring me twice to great companies: Brothers Landscaping hauled my old furniture and other junk away. I was very happy with the job they did. They worked hard, were strong, & cheerful and friendly. I highly recommend them. Bradley Odom Construction repaired my front porch and did other exterior/internal work for me in 2019. I used them several times and highly recommend them.

I entered my project to seal the cracks in my driveway on HomeAdvisor and within hours had a call from one of the recommended contractors. He promptly came to assess the work and provide an estimate. I engaged him to do the work and so far, it looks great.

We were given a choice of 3 pros. A couple of them said they did not do the type of project we wanted. We were looking for a whitewash of our fireplace brick. Paint Solutions was quick to return our call, sent us pictures of jobs he had done. We were very impressed with his work, set up a day for him to come and do the job. I am very pleased with the result.

Deck repair. HomeAdvisor recommended 2 contractors in our area. I got bids from both and they were nearly the same amount. I went with Mill Creek because they seemed more knowledgeable and more willing to do the complete job. Both contractors responded to the requests for bids in a timely manner.

River City Heat and Air. Excellent efficient value service with excellent communication of what the problem was. I live in a remote area and they were able to fix it within hours of arrival having everything they needed on their truck. No having to travel back and forth taking days to complete. I would hire them again for sure. Nothing more to add. Thank you for this referral.

I do not appreciate that the only way to get information about service providers is to provide so much information about myself and then have to wait until the contractors contact me. The old "Angie's List" process of providing me with a list of contractors for me to contact was much more consumer friendly.

I like how they provide options for the specified service for reputable companies. They call you to arrange appointments or you can do it online. They also follow up with you to see if you hired the pro. If you are unhappy with the options they will find more for you.

Cleveland Tree and Stump provided me with a remarkable quality tree trimming experience. The project involved two 60 foot trees along the property line which needed serious trimming. Every aspect of the service provided was timely, friendly yet professional. It is especially worthy to note that even as this project was challenging the team maintained a positive attitude throughout the day. Further, when they had completed the project there remained no debris anywhere in the yard for me to clean up. This Cleveland Tree and Stump provided a service way above and beyond anything expected. Again, a truly excellent experience.

Duct cleaning should be done...for all homes.. you'll be surprised what's in the heat/air ducts, and when cleaned the house is so much cleaner, the dust build up it a lot less. A lot more healthy for all. Especially if you have pets and children, I don't..

Tree Trimming and Removal. HomeAdvisor did the trick. This was my first time using HomeAdvisor who provided a great service provider at a good price. Almost instant response with a visit to bid the work within an hour. Very happy with the outcome. Will use again.

I was having problems with the aerobic septic system so I had a company pump the tank. Two months later same problems. Turns out the guy pumped the wrong tank. I contacted Home Advisor on a Saturday when the toilets quit flushing. They got me in contact with a company that day and it was fixed that afternoon for almost half the cost my plumber cousin says his company charges.

Removal of contents of apt. An eviction notice was pending for sister. Family had lived in project for over 30 years. Sister was more than upset and very little had been organized. HollywoodJunk were patient and understanding. We got a lot done amongst tears. I felt supported as the mean older sister.

While I found a contractor to do the work through Home Advisor, there were 3 others I requested a quote that did not respond. Repeated requests through the contractor contact info directly gave no results. If contractors are listed here and Home Advisor vouches for them, they should at least respond. I can't speak to the quality of the work done by the ones not responding.

Phixser plumbing was a great recommendation. Art Plumbing was not. I would never use Art Plumbing for any work. They consistently dropped the ball and I constantly had to followup on them and chase them down. Phixser on the other hand was on top of my job and pushed everything through perfectly!

Website is easy to use and anybody I have used was really good at what they do. Have never had a bad experience with anyone from HomeAdvisor. If HomeAdvisor does not have the people you are looking for they give you some names from Angie's List, which really helps to find someone you are looking for.

The company HomeAdvisor recommended did a great job, and I will use that company again. They cleaned my leaders and gutters and replaced some wooden shakes on the side of the home. I plan on using HomeAdvisor again to find reputable workers for my home needs.

Tree removal. Anders Tree Service did a great job! They were prompt and courteous, and would recommend them to anyone who needs this kind of service. The job was reasonably priced as well. They even helped clear a fence row! We would hire them again in if needed.

I needed to find an Air Conditioning repairman on Saturday- and I found on Google a company COLDLIFE. The tech he'd come Sunday and try to repair it. He did come, and was very well - mannered, very alert and technical, clean and smart. He said however it couldn't be fixed, and he said he'd pick a new one on on Monday. He just left, with his assistant -- and I hope these guys will find more people who need their services!!

My husband uses HomeAdvisor for his business. At the surface, it is a great way to get leads especially if you’re a new business, but be prepared to pay pay pay for those leads. Customers put in a request of what they “think” is wrong with their electrical. If they put panel, that’s a high ticket item so HomeAdvisor charges upwards of $79 for the potential money that lead can make the contractor. On numerous occasions, it has turned out the customer does not need a panel at all but something relatively inexpensive like a GFI. We wind up taking a loss between the charge of what the unequalified diagnosis the customer made and what was actually wrong.

If there is anything less than one star, I will give to HomeAdvisor. They scammed me into signing up with them through their "never give up" sales rep. I signed up with $300 and was sent fake leads. They started charging my account for the fake leads until I called my bank to claim my money for service I never received because they refused to cancel my account and make a refund. When I got my money back through my bank, they sent me a bill of over $100 for 3 leads that I never did business with and they knew this. When I rejected the bill home advisor sent the bill to collection.

Easy and Convenient to use! I received three inquires for my Home Inspection. Each of the three companies were very polite and understanding of my needs. I will definitely use Home advisor in the future for my home project needs.

I needed a firm to grind two stumps and go deeper than normal so that I could plant new trees in the same place. A well qualified firm responded to the inquiry promptly. I exchanged emails with the firm to discuss particulars. I accepted their price which was very fair. They showed up the following work day and was done and gone with cleanup quickly. Very satisfied with that company and the service by Home Advisor.

I had some difficulty using the app, especially when doing my search for contractors. I eventually figured out that you can "heart" contractors and save them to a list but that wasn't as obvious as I feel it should have been. Also, many of the contractors sent me messages which, although I got alerts to them, I found it cumbersome to manage my messages with them in one place. What I would like from HomeAdvisor is more of a directory experience that assumes I will browse through multiple profiles of contractors, save a number to contact, and actually contact a couple. The experience was not as seamless as it could have been, I feel. It is a great idea for a service, however.

I ordered wallpaper installation on February 22. From the available dates listed, I chose Saturday March 14 @ 8:00 AM. A week after booking the appointment, I received an email telling me that the job had been rescheduled by someone else for 9:00. When the day arrived, no one showed. The last email that I received listed the contractor as "HomeAdvisor". I called the number in the email and was met by a voicemail that said, "Thanks for calling" before it hangs up. I went to the website and called the contact number there. I was told that I needed to call another number.

Home Inspection of a farmhouse in SE Indiana. I had hired an inspector through HA who turned out to have done a very conscientious and thorough inspection. With him, I had no issues. The followup phone calls and emails from HA are trying. Very trying as they are couched in "concern". Did you hire Steve? Did he show up on time? Same in emails. In my opinion, they were merely trying to see if they can charge him for their services. Just my opinion, but it makes me question the sincerity of HA.

Asked for power washers in the area, and with in minutes I had 3 to choose from - and then could also have other bids from different vendors. The price was fair - and the company that came out was a pleasure to work with.

Homeadvisor even called me to make sure I was happy with my experience with Homeadivsor, and to ensure I was treated respectfully by all that I received bids from. And then again to find if I have chosen someone and how it is going. They were able to update my file so that I was not bombarded with too many contractors contacting me.... I recently recommended Home Advisor to my manager, she is encountering the same pleasant experience as well.

Four contractors were listed for my type of project, but only one returned my call. My project was pretty custom so I wasn't too interested in the "comparable project cost". I found Home Advisor to be very convenient and it worked out well for me.

Home Advisor owns Angi's list and CraftJack my friend is on HomeAdvisor and I on CraftJack we both get same leads! They sell up to 12 contractors the same leads were they claim to only you and up to 2 others! And when you ask for legitimate credit they refuse!!!

As soon as we got our business license, I got a phone call from Ryder ** at HomeAdvisor. He gave me the whole sales pitch, saying that our lead fees would be between $10 and $30, with an average of $24. It seemed like a good way to get in touch with clients, so we went ahead and signed up. BIG MISTAKE! Every single lead was more than we were quoted, with the majority being $36, up to $43.50. We got mostly numbers that would just ring and ring, with no one ever answering. We tried to call, text, and email these "leads", but were never able to make contact. Some came up invalid numbers. We got a "lead" for an address that didn't even exist. Not exactly a valid job if a house doesn't exist. These "leads" weren't actually viable jobs, but we were charged for all of them, and when we requested credit, our requests were denied.

Upgraded electrical outlet and wiring for stove. The men we hired from Duffy Electric were friendly and professional, and stated their years of experience in electrical work. They did a great job, and were finished in about an hour. Although they were a little expensive, we are very satisfied with their work.

This company and its staff were awesome. I could not have asked for more. Working with them through Home Advisor was a great experience. I will work with this company again and I will definitely trust Home Advisor to provide the right help.

I tried to contact dozens of contractors on my own - most never called back, and the ones who did show couldn't help (but wanted to know about other work of course). Removal of three trees. I had requested bids for the job from 5 different contractors and one through a Home Advisor. He was the last and most reasonable. Turned out he was a true professional and I am very pleased with the job he did.

I contracted Home Advisor for 3.5 hours of gutter repair work for a total cost of $290.10. The job description was to repair two leaks. The leaks were dripping onto my deck and creating a serious slip hazard and contributing to water damage on my siding. The day the repair was scheduled was raining so the "pro" contacted me to reschedule- totally understandable. The next week on the agreed upon day he had still not shown up at 3 pm. I contacted him and he agreed to come the following day. The following day he texted me and stated he would be sending his brother to make the repair. His brother showed up at 2:50 and commenced the repairs after I showed him the problem areas. He worked for less than 45 minutes and stated he was done.

Good experience with Home Advisor. Found an excellent person to remove a tree on my property through your service. The contractor did an excellent job at a reasonable price. I will use this contractor again to do tree work. Communication with Home Advisor was also good.

I was looking for an electrician in the Statesville area. I decided to try Home Advisor to find one and am very glad I did. Within minutes I was talking to someone and they came out the same day and fixed my electrical issues.

My project was misrepresented by HomeAdvisor to the business I was employing. They almost drove 1 hour to do what Home Advisor told them was a garage door installation. (at no point did i check a box, or write a description of my project as this). In fact it was a garage door spring repair. HA did refund the money, but the rep seemed unapologetic and unfazed by the reason for the cancellation. It is as if that is the normal course of business. Will not be using this dodgy service in the future.

I was contacted with a sales pitch that promised to receive leads that were represented as guaranteed prospects. I was required to pay over $500 to join. These details were to be shared by Home Advisor with home owners inquiring about my services when they were referred to my business.

I have used Home Advisor many times and each time the contractor I use works out great. This time I used Max Movers for an in-home move. They moved furniture from the garage to the basement. Will use them again.

Garage door openers. The man representing Phoenix Overhead Doors was well informed, worked around our time needs, was efficient and left the work area clean and with working overhead doors!!!! We highly recommend his company and will tell everyone about Home Advisor. By checking with Home Advisor we were confident with the choices they recommended.

SCAM!!! WARNING!! I have tried their referral lead service for 3 months. They send bogus leads with no call backs. Charged for services I don't offer. Customer service does nothing to reverse leads you are charged for. False names. False numbers. Charged in advance and no credits back when they were completely deserved. Their policies are absolutely ridiculous and change person to person. You have been warned.

Not all the bidders came to bid, some came but did not give a bid after. I guess my job was too small for them. Was disappointed with the bidders (ie. roofers & roof contractors). I have to end up getting other bids from Google review, YELP and BBB. Need more roofers and contractors to sign up here for better comparison bid.

Had a great experience with Central Inspections. They were punctual, professional and reasonable priced. They replaced my gas hot water furnace as well as my hot water heater. They made extra efforts to minimize the dirt, and left the job looking cleaner than when they started. I would highly recommend.

Door jamb. 2 of the callers would only do by replacing the door. Finally got a contractor who will do what I requested and at a great price. Do not care for them calling me, I would rather see the list so I can pick who to call.

After selecting the recommended pool company I wanted to give me a bid for my job, a pop up window appeared. It asked questions about the specifics of the job and asked for my payment method (AKA credit card). It turns out this was another feature for handyman service. I received email from the handyman service and phone calls from Home Advisor and the pool company I wanted. The following week as indicated by email a handyman showed up. I then realized there was some problems. I called back the HomeAdvisor phone number that originally called me. This person knew nothing about the handyman and said I should be fine as long as I did not have him do any work. My pool work was done by Seabreeze pools and they did a great job.

Response was done in a very timely manner. It was a great site to go to when you have no idea where to begin. Was very easy to navigate. Would highly recommend it anyone searching for a plumber. Thank you for your promoters in replying.

We found a small, affordable, reliable HVAC contractor that did excellent work that we'd never have found any other way. HomeAdvisor followed up, made sure we were happy with the work, and even offered to mediate if needed. Great experience.

They inspect my water tank and make recommendations and share pricing so we can make an educated decision.

Needed help to correct problems left behind by Home Depot. Got immediate bids through HomeAdvisor and selected the Reyes. They came the next day and did the job. Did it well. Reasonably priced and cleaned up. I will definitely use them again or if not available, I will go to HomeAdvisor for help. I have a feeling that only reliable contractors are on HomeAdvisor.

Gutters. Price was within line with other estimates I received. Product seems to be superior to one estimate, and third estimate was out of ballpark for work that was being offered. Too many confusing emails and recommend workers. You get one email after another recommending various contractors. Some are supposed to contact you, some you contact them. Never know who you should deal with. In the end, it worked out and I got a great contractor. Sort of by luck.
