From the moment I encountered HomeAdvisor during my search for a duct/ventilation cleaner, the experience was surprisingly easy and pleasant. I actually felt I was getting a service! The HomeAdvisor's response to my inquiry was super fast and I had scheduled a vendor for my project in less than 30 minutes! Never once did I feel uncomfortable with providing my information or who they put me in contact with. Everything was handled professionally and promptly and in the end my experience was very productive!

After the weekend away we came home to a broken refrigerator. Contacted HomeAdvisor the next morning and ApplianceSmart Repair was at my house within an hour. He repaired the refrigerator within an hour. He was courteous, efficient and explained exactly what was wrong and the cost to repair. Best of all he had the part to repair the problem.

It was just a terrible experience. I hired a man after he called from HomeAdvisor to get rid of mold in my bathroom and bedroom, paint the bathroom, to install a tile floor in the bathroom, install a bathroom fan, replace the caulking on the bathtub and to install new trim, from Bennett Custom Painting, a man named Mark did our work. He assured us he could do all of the things we needed, with no reason to hire anyone else. He did all of these things very poorly, except for the painting and mold removal. He installed the floor and actually put a chipped broken tile in the floor. When he did the grout he added water a second time to the mixture when it clearly says not to on the bag, which I discovered after the grout began chipping and coming apart.

Master Bath remodel - HomeAdvisor was a great way to get in touch with reputable contractors. I would recommend its use. The contractors called back immediately upon contacting HomeAdvisor and came quickly to spec the job. The contractor was competent and helpful in the planning of our project.

Surprisingly good - This is the first time that a query resulting from an internet search has actually yielded something, let alone the good result that ensued. I was surprised at how affordable and high quality and trustworthy the work was. This was basically a "cold call" on my part.

I searched the website for local tree removers as I needed to have trees cut that were too close to the electrical wires and a tree that was suffocating my rose bush. Within a hour of completing my search one of the companies contacted me. My experience was very positive and I will definitely utilize the site again in the future.

Have had a few occasion to search and use companies on HomeAdvisor. Have not been unhappy with the companies I have selected so far. There has been times when I have not received a response from companies that were contacted, even after being contacted by H.A. representative.

I found an HVAC contractor (Garbo Plumbing and Heating) on HomeAdvisor and he turned out to be unknowledgeable and left me without heat for 6 days in subfreezing weather. I contacted HomeAdvisor to report him and I eventually wrote up a poor review on Garbo Plumbing and Heating from Duryea, PA. The contractor responded to my review and wrote many lies about why he left me without heat. So, I contacted HomeAdvisor many times to dispute his response. I was told by several of their CSR's on how to respond and write a rebuttal. None of the options worked, so I called HomeAdvisor and left several messages for someone to get back with me, but no one has as of 12-11-16. It appears that HomeAdvisor shields their contractors. So, be very careful when using HomeAdvisor!!!

Two pros refused to honor the info in their Quick Facts that they did not indicate 'no trip charge.' I verified, with 2 different Home Advisor C/S persons, no trip charge was indicated, Nunn Better Air, LLC and the other one has either corrected the bait and switch info or is no longer showing under the Additional Pros List Home Advisor provided for me! Nun Better personnel told me they WOULD NOT HONOR THEIR QUICK FACTS INFO!!! This is clearly a bait and switch ad and it is definitely illegal in Texas! I have hired many pros via home Advisor, but I was very disappointed they allowed two scam artists to use their services and scam their clients.

I needed two old, large, heavy TV'S removed. They got back to me quickly with a quote. They came when they said they would. They were very polite and they performed the task efficiently and at a very reasonable price. I will definitely use them for future projects.

Floor had been replaced because of buckling caused by movement of the foundation from time to time and the new floor started having the same problems. The installer had not left any room at all to allow for movement of the bamboo flooring. We feel the problem has been solved by the repairs that Roy has made.

I appreciated that three vendors were quickly identified by HomeAdvisor and that they were to phone me. One phoned immediately; the second phoned two days later; the third never phoned. I went with the first and as it happened was extremely pleased with the result. Top marks for customer service, ease of interacting, living up to the project estimates.

My sink collapsed under the kitchen counter. I needed a sink expert and HomeAdvisor gave me several choices when I described my problem. I did not have to call around or look it up in the phone book. They did that for me with several good choices. The hardest thing that I had to do was to choose one of them!

I had a roof leak repair done, but the repair did not work. I called the roof inspector to determine the source of the leak. He determined the source, made recommendations, and was willing to speak to the repairmen in Spanish to let them know what the problem was and what was needed to fix the leak. He was very courteous and respectful. I would highly recommend this company to others.

So far HomeAdvisor.com has helped in all areas needed. The service is always prompt and those who are recommended have done great work! While a lot of our projects are small it makes us feel more comfortable that if we needed work done on a larger scale that we can trust the website recommendations.

I am pleased overall with customer service representatives that helped me locate a professional cleaning person and carpet and upholstery cleaning. I have used other professional under HomeAdvisor so I know that I eventually have to have the instinct to hire or not. But the customer service is fairly knowledgeable about the professionals they have screened.

I needed roofing tiles replaced that was causing a leak in the ceiling... The repair looks well. My only comment would be they left the damaged tiles on the porch & in the yard. Not a big deal... Would not affect my consulting them again for roofing needs.

Fence Repair - This was our first time utilizing this service, and I can see why more and more people are. And if they are not, they should look into it. It is important for us to know what someone has taken the time to do background checks on those that may be doing work around our house. For a long time I had difficulty finding acceptable contractors, even that will show up. HomeAdvisor has put me in touch with a number of quality professionals. Not all of them are a good fit, but I have found three that I use regularly. Bravo!

Retaining walls with stucco and steps with stone veneer. Walls were to hold back landscape that was slowly washing away. Four steps were for walking uphill at a place where it is difficult to walk uphill. Wall is nicely finished with stucco.

Bathroom fan installation - HomeAdvisor sent me three company names. Two were unreasonably priced, but the third was reasonable and very professional. It pays to do research and call as many companies as you can to compare. We found a very reputable electrician who we can call again for any other job and we will recommend him to our friends and neighbors. We saw five star reviews from so many people. Plumbing/Water heater repair - Received a prompt call from service provider after contacting HomeAdvisor. The service provider seemed well qualified and arrived as promised and provided good service/repair and I felt that everything was handled quickly and professionally. Follow up from HomeAdvisor via email was waiting even prior to service being performed.

Furnace replacement - I have never used your service before but saw the ads on TV. When my furnace stopped working last week I went online and the HA came up with Baker H&C. I am completely satisfied with Baker's service and price and with HA's recommendation.

This is a great service where you tell them what you need and contractors call you. I don't have a lot of time to look for qualified individuals and this really is a timesaver for me. First contractor worked out really well.

Fall leaf cleanup - Received call from company within 10 minutes of making inquiry. Was visited by company within 2 days (I was not available sooner) and was given an on-site quote for the job. Service was scheduled and completed 2 days later. Excellent service!

Toilet repair - I came to HomeAdvisor after using another plumber from a general local search. HomeAdvisor's recommendation was excellent and timely. The contractor was in touch with me within minutes. When he arrived, he was pleasant and resolved our issue quickly. Wall oven install - The company that I hired through HomeAdvisor was excellent. I would recommend using HA for any services you need. To be able to go online and pick an excellent, pre-screened contractor is the fastest and easiest way to get something done very quickly. Within in an hour I was receiving responses from available plumbing pros. I Hired one of them based on the HA ratings and had a very positive experience overall. We initial contacted ADS to do work on our electrical sub-panel to prepare for a pool rehab which included finding a leak in our plumbing. It turned out that ADS works on pools too so we asked them to bid on the job. The price was in-line with other bids but we really like the attention to details that ADS showed along with their recommendations. What a great decision to go with ADS! The communications were great throughout the entire renovation. They showed up when they said they would. The overall project included removing all the concrete decking and coping around the pool and finding the leak. This was a big job and disruptive but ADS kept our grounds as neat as possible during the weeks of work.

I gave a 4 star, because one contractor didn't show up or call; one did call, but was very obnoxious and pushy. The third one showed up on time; gave a reasonable estimate; and did the work in a prompt manner.

A1A Pressure Washing was very prompt when coming out to give us an estimate. When the time came to perform the service he arrived on time and completed the job in a timely manner. Very satisfied. We plan to have him come back in six months and repeat.

Radon mitigation - The company offered support before, during, and after the project. They offered abundant follow up. They were much more involved than I expected. I recommend using them for your project.

I've hired their contractors at least 5 times for plumbing, maid services, and miscellaneous handyman services. Often their contractors will call me right away based on the phone number associated with my profile. The calls come a minute after I click "submit" so be ready with your phone!

I have high standards for contractors (as we all should); I expect efficient, respectful communication, timeliness, and quality. I found HomeAdvisor (Service Magic at the time) seven years ago when we bought our house and have hired ~6 contractors through them. All contractors except for one (an interior designer who didn't call to tell me she was running late) have been on-time, or in communication with me, and have performed QUALITY work. HomeAdvisor personnel have been friendly, proactive, and helpful. They are my first go-to for contractors who usually end up becoming a member of our home team.

All of the contractors that I have found through HomeAdvisor have been top notched. I've had a deck installed and also a boundary survey completed. We have to fixed blind top down bottom up. Charles called within 10 minutes since I called. He came on time. He called when he will return the fixed blind. Overall it was a real pleasant experience to deal with an honest and professional person.

Would highly-recommend HomeAdvisor when searching for contractor assistance, but also recommend checking with the local Consumer Affairs Office and ensuring that companies are licensed, insured and, if necessary, bonded. Good idea to further verify pricing with at least 3 or more vendors.

I received a referral from Home Advisor for the company Invictus Veritas Construction Company to install a sliding glass door in my newly purchased home. The owner of the company Shannon ** received money to start the project and he then disappeared. I now am out the money and still do not have my slider. When I tried to post a review to warn other consumers on Home Advisor's website they declined the review because it contained "illegal activity". Well, that is the point! They referred a business to me that stole my money! Be careful, it appears the vetting process that Home Advisor uses is not as thorough as they advertise.
