I called PAUL'S ELECTRIC after reading recommendations from your site. I was extremely pleased with the work done by Paul and his son, and used them numerous times for items that needed fixing in my home, such as GFCI outlets in the kitchen and bath that were not functioning, and outside GFCI outlets that had also failed. They do very professional work, but are a bit pricey, but I feel it is worth the cost because they are professionals.

My first experience using your site. I have been extremely pleased with the above service provider. Very punctual, trustworthy and hard working and aims to please the customer. I would recommend with no hesitation.

It was a Sunday and my friend had water all over the floor from his geyser not working. He had troubleshooted the obvious and just happened to tell me bout it. I checked HA, found a specialist, and asked him to call my friend. When they discussed the charges, my friend decided to wait till Monday. The specialist then gave him some tips that put the unit back in operation.

Hired A1 Hoosier Painting in January 2015. Currently in dispute with 2 credit card companies regarding this unfinished job. I was mislead into believing this was a licensed company who could do the job they agreed to do. After receiving a "stop work" order from the city, and many phone calls to them and to the city, I found that they failed to obtain the needed permits to do work they contracted to do. The owner of the company continually stated he was planning to get the permits but didn't understand what the city required and he continued with unpermitted work. When this was discovered by the Code enforcement in Indianapolis, the "stop work" order was issued and the company did not notify me but continued to bill for work which wasn't done. I am still trying to get this resolved and it is May, several months after it should have been finished. To be continued.

We needed to have our roof and chimney repaired. The roof area around the chimney and the masonry on the chimney were causing a continual, trickling leak into our bedroom during heavy rains. I went on the HomeAdvisor website to search for services that could make the necessary repairs.

I needed to have a tree removed ASAP. Contacted Home Advisor via email. Received a call within 15 minutes and had an appointment within 2 hours. Tree was removed the next day, at what I assumed was a reasonable cost. I was pleased with the results.

NC Rebuild Inc. gave bid price for new roof and now trying to add another $1400 with no extra work done. Also they blew out outside receptacles and receptacles inside garage and breaker in fuse box. They tripped the breaker the first time without asking if they could use outlets. I said don't use. They used anyway and blew out receptacles and said they would not fix.

Blue Frog Plumbing was quick, professional, and reasonable in price. I was completely satisfied with the work I had done. I would recommend Blue Frog to anyone needing plumbing work done.

Moved framing out half an inch, which moved wall. Hung toilet out of seal to plumbing. Did not make walls straight to install tile as they were told was to happen.

I have hired 2 vendors using Home Advisor. Both were professional, timely and their charges were reasonable.

I received a call from A & H Mechanical Services. He sent a guy out right away, he showed up on the time the original guy stated. He was polite, efficient and they didn't try to charge a crazy fee once they arrived and no hidden charges either...For once I think I found a decent and honest company..Highly recommend!!

We had contacted ** company last year in September. We keep on calling so many times. He keep on saying "couple weeks" and never showed up! Really bad service! If he was busy he could say "It's busy time. Maybe next year!" Really disappointed with the wait!

A Better Home Services performed the remodeling of my bathroom. They did an excellent job on the tile work, however we had a pricing quote problem on the bathroom shower doors that caused a bitter relationship between Contractor and Owner. The contractor hired a subcontractor just for the shower doors and their pricing was $1000 higher than another quote with the same quality materials and workmanship. As a result, I went with the other contractor who did an excellent job on the shower doors and saved myself $1000. Also, as a result, the owner of A Better Home Services, ** would not guarantee any of his workmanship on the entire bathroom remodeling. In addition, they broke my toilet which cost me an addition $300 plus dollars. I am very disappointed with the whole experience.

The company never showed up for the initial appointment and after calling them, never called me back.

Called back quickly. Showed up on time for estimate. Reasonable prices. Showed up on time for install. Installed pendant lights over island. Added a receptacle in the kitchen. Put two bathroom plugs on their own circuit. Cleaned up. All the people I had contact with were polite and willing to answer my questions. I would use them again if the need arises.

Professional job. Came when they said they would and did a wonderful job. I highly recommend them. Price was fair!!

The handyman was good and got the job done, but two faucets, a shower head and a ceiling light in 4 hours? For 346$ and being on a senior budget, hurt deeply and doubtful about future plans with this service. Previously, I had one faucet changed to a powder room, but that was done very well with less time and money.

I tried to hire someone to put in a patio/ground cover of any sort on the side of my house. Not one person or company came. Went right down the list, called 5-6 different people. Only 2 called me back. The first named listed set up two days he would swing by and never came. The second said he would call me back when he had his schedule with him and never did. I put in a complaint with HomeAdvisor and never heard back, then received an e-mail stating that I had cancelled my complaint(?) Disappointed. Side of house still needs to be done...

The one was supposed to get back to me last weekend with a plan and a quote -- I have not seen him. The other one was a bit busier and he said he would get back to me with a quote by the end of this week, so I am ok with waiting as long as he does come back with a quote.

My husband and I are very pleased with the work. The small, useless fan in the bathroom finally quit working. We purchased a much better quality fan to replace it. We needed someone to install the larger fan for us. The electrician arrived on time. He took his time to do a good job and even came right back to solve an issue with the duct.

However, on the most recent projects (the last one for tree trimming), I could not get even one prospective contractor on your list to return my calls. I ended up finding a contractor on my own with excellent results, including lower than expected costs. Needless to say, I will not be using your service again.

What I like is they give you a list for names and numbers in your area so you can call more than one to give you estimates. You don't have to pay for their service which is nice, unlike some outfits. All the contractors were licensed and I check with BBB and they had good ratings so, they provide top quality contractors.

The workman ship was great however they broke and did not replace too many items. If I am paying for the service I do not want to also pay to replace items.

The power washing, sealing/prep was done well. The repairs to the trim were also done well, but I had to remind the supervisor that it needed be done and primed before painting. Also, there was over-spray to some of the brick and a rose bush (they agreed to replace), but this may have been due to winds, and they cleaned the brick and will follow-up with an additional power washing for the brick with water. In addition, my wife had to remind them to sweep up the trash they left in the drive way. Overall I'm satisfied with the project, but I had to constantly make sure that things were done as agreed. I'm going have them give me an estimate on re-tiling my bathrooms. I would recommend them for remodeling. Good value for the price.

Appointment process was easy and fast. Plumber came on time as scheduled. Evaluated the situation and explained the repair process indicating best and worst case scenarios and the cost for each. When given the OK, he quickly determined that the simplest and least costly fix was possible and he effectively made the repair.

$3600 installation of wood floors - a year had not passed and the wood planks in the living room and family room are separating. Contacted the salesperson on several occasions promised to come out and look at them and didnt; filed complaints with BBB and Maryland's State Attorney General's office.

Stonick replaced my porch. To say their work was subpar is being polite on my part. The porch is buckling in places because they used cheap staples that would be used to install trim in a house. Two different carpenters told me screws are used to install porch boards outside. This fall when storing my porch furniture under porch, Stonick threw all the old wood under the porch. Now I have to dispose of old wood myself before I get termites. I replaced all the face board trim myself because ** and the boys used the scrap wood that was left over. ** is nothing but a shoemaker far from being a carpenter. This why I'm very concerned with hiring another contractor from HomeAdvisor.

Had a problem with heater that had been installed September of 2014, had no heat. One Hour Heating came out, was on time, explained the problem, took the defective part back to where they had purchased the unit, replaced with a new part, took care of everything. The serviceman was very professional, explained everything, tested all of the equipment several times, and cleaned up everything. Was extremely impressed with the entire service and would recommend the company to others. The office staff were also very helpful and professional.

I would recommend Rick Bates Home Inspector to anyone in the Elmira, Corning, Bath, Hammondsport or surrounding area who is looking to buy a house. It will save you time and money and from making a mistake in your purchase.

Contractor: ** - I used his company once and they did a good job. I took the time to call ** and tell him so. A few months later I called to get an estimate on more work - probably about 1500.00. We made an appointment for 7 PM so he could show me what the lights under my kitchen cabinets would look like at night. Guess what - no call, no show. I don't get it. I am a small businessman myself for many years. I hope this guy goes out of business.

The first place I go for any home improvements is HomeAdvisor. My experience over the past 10-15 years, they will recommend, not only the best people for the job, but the most professional reliable friendly pros.

My experience with Bear Creek Tree Service started well. The crew arrived and cut down the trees as scheduled 12/30/14. One section of a fence had to be removed and was to be replaced, when the job was done. Mid March I saw that the top section of the fence was on the ground. I was concerned about the weather forecast and suggested the scheduled date for the fix be postponed until the predicted storm was over. A few weeks later on April 23, the manager called and said they would fix the fence the next afternoon. No one showed up, and no one called. In the meantime I discovered that the entire section of the fence was not securely attached and is falling. There is no excuse for this, and I hope it will not require legal action to get it taken care of. I am sorry that I sent such a positive review, before I realized what an incomplete job had been performed.

I went through Home Advisor because I needed a bedroom ceiling re-textured and the walls painted. They referred expert painting services and the painters even put up crown moldings and a light fixture. I recommend that you use Home Advisor!

Received no calls and an email indicating that there was no one available to meet the criteria of our project. This is first time I have been disappointed in HomeAdvisor's service. It will not stop me from using the service again but it is disturbing that nothing was accomplished. I was also given an estimate by ** of Curtean Construction after fixing our fence that he would be able to do the porch steps and fix some stones on our retaining wall in our front yard, only to be told week after week that he was too busy to do the work. I had given him a 5-star rating on the fence repair and am now regretting that, given that he decided not to follow up on the offer to do more work. I will not be using him nor would I recommend him in the future.

HomeAdvisor found about 6 plumbers in my immediate area (I live in a remote rural area). I talked with one and they were at my home within a few hours. They went right to work - were courteous and professional. They solved my problem the same day at a competitive price. I will use this plumber again and will definitely use HomeAdvisor the next time I'm in need.

Better than direct mail, home shows, flyers and magazines (I have tried all of those). Now, I must say that not all the leads that you get are a good match. Being a new mom, and being home by myself with my little baby, it was so assuring to know that all service providers have background checks done by HomeAdvisor (for all companies and employees). HomeAdvisor is totally free and so easy. I love to refer my friends and family to them, they are always impressed. I 'almost' look forward to having issues around my house so I can use HomeAdvisor.

I have found multiple individuals on HomeAdvisor - previously in Naples, Fl and now in Winter Haven, FL. I have been nothing short of thrilled with all service providers. Then... this morning, a Saturday, at 8:15 A.M., I received an automated phone call and "thank you for my inquiry e-mail" from SEARS home services! No... if I wanted to work with Sears, I would have called it directly. So, HomeAdvisor is a great resource offering honest and factual reviews of area providers - especially small companies and individuals. Being able to fully describe needs and be given appropriate results is extremely helpful and efficient. Please do not ruin this service by "selling" my information to brick and mortar giants such as Sears!

I am having an issue with a contractor I hired thru this site. He did the work but very poor results. I posted a review. No one from HomeAdvisor called me to verify and confirm it as they say they screen all the reviews. I think the reviews for this contractor may not be actual customers. I am planning on going to small claims court to get judgement on contractor to refund my money. I will never use or recommend this site to anyone.

Needed shutters installed. Received a call a short time after I requested help - man came out the next day when stated and was very nice. He didn't seem all that thrilled with putting up our new shutters, and asked if we wanted to get a power wash. Told him no and he asked to see the shutters - then tells me he couldn't do it that day but "sometime" next week for $75.00 per shutter! We hope it was per set not each shutter! $225.00 for 90.00 shutters seems a bit steep to us. His remark - it is the "going rate". I don't begrudge anyone making money for use of their time, but that is ridiculous!

I've used HomeAdvisor for six projects in the past 18 months with good results on each one. I like the fact that I've barely entered the information on my project when the phone rings with one of the companies I've chosen. I try to get three quotes on any project I do, and that's easy when all the information is in one place. It's one stop shopping and I didn't have to pay to find these people. I've hired HA pros to put on a new roof, replace a kitchen floor, finish the trim on my cabinets, put in a walkway, install an irrigation system and create a water feature I designed. All the pros came in on budget (or lower) and did what they said they would do. HA followed up to see if I was happy with each project - that was nice.

Quality contractors who charge enough to pay for good work are going to find that you are competing with the worst of the lot. If you're in search of quality contractors, HomeAdvisor is not the place to look. You'll find a lot of average guys who can't get jobs on their own. You'll do better on Angie's List, asking your friends or even doing a Google search.

We recently had to install a new heat/air system on our house. Since I have had good luck with this site, I went through it again and was not disappointed. We chose ** from his reviews. We are very pleased with the work he did and asked him to repair the heater on our other home as well. I highly recommend him.

These guys know what they are doing and are very "Honest". I plan on living here for a long time and now I don't have any worries about where to go when in time of need for a repair or a simple project. I love these guys.

Flash tankless water heater (Bosch) stopped heating water. Reidhead Plumbing responded in 24 hours - Installed the water draining plumbing that has not been installed originally, Determined that the lack of maintenance had caused damage to the core. Outcome was installation of a new tankless water heater. Reidhead found one at a competitive price and installed it. I now have a tankless water heater with the needed plumbing for maintenance. Reidhead was professional and knowledgeable. We had one communication problem about the immediacy of the work to replace the water heater. That was resolved and work was completed in a timely manner. I recommend this company.

We have a home in Reno and a second home in Arvada. I have found a business to install shutters, an electrician, plumber, washing machine repairman and attempted to find help for my granite countertop. I have been very pleased with all my hires except the countertop. I made arrangements to meet him in Arvada, in advance of our visit. I sent pictures of what I needed. He assured me he could do it and scheduled an appt. He never showed and didn't answer his phone when I tried to reach him. Very disappointed. I have since thrown the information away. I remember it was just 3 letters in the business name and his name was ** and spoke with a foreign accent.

Poor Performance of Home Advisor Contractors: I found a few would show up, look at the potential work, leave and NEVER FOLLOW UP saying job too small or they were not interested. I have a loathing of any contractor or service oriented organizations who generally have poor customer service.

I've tried to get in touch with electrical contractors, three different times using HomeAdvisor. To this date, NOT ONE contractor has returned my calls... I'm done with HomeAdvisor.

Received calls from several vendors. Most wanted to just quote on the phone without measuring/seeing my particular setup. Went with A-Team Garage Doors who did show up, took measurements, and explained the install process and things I needed to do prior to installation of a new door. He showed up on the day and time as promised and completed the install within the estimated time. He checked and rechecked door adjustments and would not leave until I was 100% satisfied. An adjustment was needed a month later and he came out, although it was late, made the adjustment to my satisfaction. My neighbor was so impressed with the service - she just had A-Team replace her garage door.

I have used HomeAdvisor several times and it really saves a lot of work. I don't have to search for contractors and I get a gauge on their quality and reliability. However, the last time I used them for a pool remodeling and patio replacement job it didn't work out so well. The contractors that were initially paired with me never bothered to make contact with me. Every other time I had used HA the potential contractors have always called within a couple of hours if not minutes. After a few days I attempted to call them. Never could get a hold of them so I left messages.

I found a contractor to come repair the shower tile that someone fell into. The gentleman came out took a look at gave a very fair quote and saved me money by using the old tile. Painting contractor came in replaced some damaged wood, installed shutters on home and painted in 2 days and I could not be happier. Pricing was very reasonable and very personal. I will always go to HomeAdvisor before hiring any contractor as I have never been too good at this and have always been disappointed. And another good thing there is no charge for this service.

We were looking for an emergency HVAC service, since our central heater had gone out, on one of the worst days when it could've...sub-zero temps outside. We have used HomeAdvisor to find a roofer after using a number of other methods with unsatisfactory results. Their roofer was excellent and we finally had the issues repaired properly. We also used HomeAdvisor for a carpet installer and found again excellent assistance. This will be where we go first for future needs.
