I have no complaints with HomeAdvisor, the pros and semi pros, they have steered me toward, have been qualified and professional. I will use all of them again and recommend them.

I really like how the website gives you the option to have pros call you about the project. I hate calling people from a website or yellow pages ad because you almost always end up having to leave a message. The call back feature is great.

I really appreciate HomeAdvisor. I was in need a company that I could trust and I feel they do a good job on checking the companies without charging like other businesses do. Home Depot had recommended them to me before.

We're a plumbing company and being a member of HomeAdvisor since 2010 has been pretty good so far. The sign-up process was simple. The team at HomeAdvisor are always fun and efficient. HomeAdvisor gives us a good amount of leads. We have to fight for the leads but that's the way it is. With all of the contractors they have on, the consumers tend to be tire-kickers and look for the cheapest deal they can. And unfortunately, you get what you pay for in this industry. We have over 85 star reviews on there so people tend to understand they're getting quality when they get us, that price is no object.

We were in need of an emergency carpet cleaning from a sick pet. It was early on a Sunday morning, having arrived home from a long night at work, and we reached out to HomeAdvisor for help locating a service provider. HomeAdvisor was exceptionally professional, quick, and knew just how to help. Within minutes of ending our phone call with HomeAdvisor, several local providers contacted me. We went with the first company that called, and the service they provided was EXCELLENT! We will definitely use HomeAdvisor for future projects!

I had never used HomeAdvisor until my home central A/C stopped working in sunny South FL. I wanted to find a reputable source to find a tech. I did find my A/C tech through here, and it was an easy experience. I experienced a fast response from A/C techs, great quality of labor and very knowledgeable tech, and a realistic overview of wages (but not very realistic). I would recommend HomeAdvisor to invest their time in getting the most accurate per hour labor wage for my area, and even an estimate for the different types/common A/C repairs.

HomeAdvisor was recommended to me by someone. My phone rang within 1 minute of submitting my initial request on the website. I was very impressed with the responsiveness and the selections recommended for me by HA. I appreciated that there were reviews available of the contractors recommended on the website. I was able to meet and get estimates from 3 companies, and chose 1 of them. I'm very satisfied with the quality of their work and with my experience using this website. I've never been on Angie's List, and I don't know what it costs. But I can't imagine paying for that when all you need is right here. It's awesome, and it's FREE.

They were messy. When I realized they did not use drop cloths everything in my master closet had to be cleaned. Brought his wife and teenage son to job. Did not take the construction debris, which was part of the agreement..... Horror.

My business offers plumbing services and I've been with HomeAdvisor for six years. The company I used to work for used to use them when they were ServiceMagic. And when I was looking for advertising, a partner had told me about it so I called and got signed up with them. And that was six years ago. They are always professional and courteous all the time. HomeAdvisor has helped me every year and it is where I get the most calls out of all my advertising.

Of the three contractor, one did not contact us, one came by for an estimate but did not send one, and one me came from quite a distance. I did hire the one and got the job done at an Ok price. I really don't like it when a contractor does not follow up and wastes my time by coming but not delivering the quote..

He also replaced a concrete step to our front porch and a section in the sidewalk in front of our driveway to the garage. He was always on time. Excellent clean up on the job. Had an ant problem at a rental home - went online to HomeAdvisor, and a few clicks and some reviews later, I had an appointment for a highly rated pest service who then arrived on time, were polite, competent, effective and below the cost I had expected. It just doesn't get any easier than this. I highly recommend HomeAdvisor, and will use them every time I need a service that I do not already have a preferred company for.

When it's working, it works pretty good. But when it's not working, you get a lot of bad leads. A lot of people are just searching on the internet and they're kind of just fumbling and bumbling around. They don't know that we, contractors, get charged every time they press the button. It would be nice if the consumer knew if you press this button, people are going to get charged a lot of money. So if you're just kind of searching the net, please don't press the button because whether we get hired or not, HomeAdvisor still gets paid, so it kind of stinks for us, contractors.

I have used Home Advisor twice. The first time I had difficulty getting in touch with the professional I chose. When I notified Home Advisor they promptly contacted the professional and assisted me in getting my project completed. The second experience was extremely smooth. Furniture repair - I was very pleased with the recommendation.

I went to their site to find a plumber. They had a box to check a box if I did NOT want the contractor to call me and if I just wanted to see the names. After being annoyed by calls from various plumbers, I decided not only to check out all the plumbers, but I also checked out HomeAdvisor.com. Then I called back one of the plumbers to ask him about his experiences with HomeAdvisor.com. It became clear right away that the reason they have the contractors call you is that they get paid for every number. I can only hire one person. But HomeAdvisor.com reels in the money every time a contractor calls a number. So, they made money off my number several times today. What a racket they are!

Viny Floor install - The staff was very knowledgeable of what I needed, going into details which were important.

Our business offers residential and commercial electricians. Two years ago, a girl from HomeAdvisor called and signed me up. She helped me and treated me right so I've always called her. Having them has been amazing for my business.

They found a wire disconnected to the condenser fan motor and capacitor. They reset the pressure switch and the unit worked fine. This is how I know they are honest. I thought it was the connector switch and told them so. They could have easily agreed with me and charged me twice as much for the repair. I am completely confident that they are an honest company.

One of the architectural fence post was already broken at ground level when high linear winds approaching 75 mph took it down along with the adjacent 6'x8' panels of a friendship fence. The contractor, Top Choice Lawns, came out promptly (within 2 days) after being contacted and made the necessary repairs. They arrived ahead of time, got straight to work, got the repairs done quickly, and did a good job of cleaning up the job site after themselves. Both workers conducted themselves courteously and professionally.

I've been with HomeAdvisor for about three years and in the past year or so whenever I get a lead I call and lately nobody wants to answer or call back. Another thing is the last customer put a bad review on there so it's basically uncalled for and I tried to call the customer and get him to take it off. I don't know if that's the reason why they're not calling back to other people. I don't use them anymore because of it.

I'm completely satisfied with HomeAdvisor. The procedures and setup are at times horror. Anytime I go into their system, it always blocks me or denies me. So I have to call and speak to a person, and then it's taken care of. The employees that I've ever spoken to have been more than willing to go out of their way to help me. Customer service from the people is excellent. In addition, HomeAdvisor actually checks every contractor and makes sure they hold proper licenses. They don't just take their word for it unlike other companies.

I have used HomeAdvisor three times now and had a great experience each time. The companies that respond are professional, focused on customer service, and provide competitive quotes. I would rather go with someone from HomeAdvisor that I know has been vetted rather than picking someone at random from a google search. I would highly recommend HomeAdvisor to anyone.

I was a little overwhelmed by the number of businesses that call me within minutes of my listing... which is not a bad thing. But I felt bad that I had to tell other responding businesses that I already selected someone else.

Easy to find what I was looking for. Found two quality companies to work with.

I have used HomeAdvisor over 15 times. HomeAdvisor gets paid by the contractors. When I write a bad review, the contractors object and the review does not get published. So, what good does it do for me to pick the five-star contractors, when their lesser ratings do not get published and added to their overall rating. The upside to this site is that the contractors will call you right away. Each of their leads cost them something like $50, so they call you right away.

We had 20+ stumps removed. Just Stumps did a very professional job in a timely manner.

The person who took my call for this project was very nice and professional. Hooked me right up with the business I wanted to be hooked up with and even got them on the phone for me.

I needed to get 3 estimates for a bathroom remodel and after calling nearly all the numbers in my local phone book and receiving only one call back and one estimate out of about 11 numbers, I looked online and stumbled upon HomeAdvisor. Not only did I finally get my estimates, but I used HomeAdvisor again when I had problems getting a plumber to come out and do some work. Two different plumbers assured me they would come out and do the work and neither of them showed up, resulting in me being charged $50 from the local water department for each month that the main cutoff wasn't installed. AAA Plumbing came out on the day I requested, did a great job and provided estimates for other work to be done in the future. Thanks, HomeAdvisor!

It's been six years that my heating, air-conditioning, and plumbing business has been a member of HomeAdvisor. They have given us a good bit of calls and my every interaction I've had with their team have been good.

Landscaping/Yard Work - Was pleasantly surprised by my HomeAdvisor experience. I was expecting a high pressure sales pitch with stealthy efforts to sign me up for a subscription service but there was none of that. The HA rep I dealt with was friendly and thorough. They forwarded my call to a local provider and emailed me 2 others within a few minutes of completing our call. Made comparison shopping a snap.

Boundary and Plat survey - After contacting all of the companies recommended by the Government, only to find they did not actually private home surveys, I turned to HomeAdvisor. ** called me, discussed the project, cost and timing and got the project done. Thank you.

My carpet had not been cleaned in two years, was stained and had large bumps or waves that needed to be stretched. Now the appearance of my carpet looks almost new. The service was prompt and the work was done efficiently and expertly. The cost was less than what another company had quoted to only stretch the carpet and not to clean it.

Beautiful antique mahogany 9 pc in new condition. Recent accidental spill left white splotches on table top. Needed someone to repair the damage. Thank you, HomeAdvisor for sending an expert!

Replace Wood Fence - This was my first time to use HomeAdvisor. Overall it was a very good experience. I will use it again.

My search addressed the need for a local dryer vent cleaning company. I got 4 listed and when I addressed the map locator, I was able to request a service call easily by email on the same site. HomeAdvisor had all the POC information needed and even some background information on the business owner. They called back the next day. We scheduled service that same week and they were prompt and courteous. I do recommend them!

I am a consumer who would prefer to call contractors for the first contact. Having all three call me while working was difficult. Plus, we went with the first contractor who called and it was awkward to tell other two that they were too late. Make an option on the inquiry page for consumer to be able to get contractors' names and call them directly.

Although I have hired contractors thru HomeAdvisor I had too many times had contractors who were notified of my project needs fail to appear at scheduled meetings, or return phone calls. If HomeAdvisor touts itself as providing you with reliable trusted contractors, they fall far short of the measure. Use it only as a means of contacting SOME contractors, but read the reviews and use judgement when hiring your contractor. Don't rely on the HomeAdvisor name to guarantee you are getting a reliable and trustworthy contractor.

HomeAdvisor people are helpful every time I call them up. The signing up process took me a while, and it took me a month or two to get approved. However, once I got things figured out, it worked out well. HomeAdvisor is great. I tell everybody I know to use them.

There was one time where I got a lead from them but it was actually for an existing customer that was looking for another bid. But it was really easy to get that taken care of.

Just needed 5 lbs of freon. OMG. What a hassle. Got phone calls till 10pm from scammers wanting $100/lb for FREON. Total scam. Stay away or use the best referral service available. WORD OF MOUTH. No crap calls in the middle of the night.

HomeAdvisor kept up with the progress of my job which was appreciated; however, I could not respond to HA to explain that the project had been delayed due to bad weather. If there was a way to respond to messages I couldn't find it. RECOMMENDATION: Provide a clearly identified way to respond to emails. Great doing business with HA otherwise.

Cancelled my HomeAdvisor account. Have a written email from their department stating they are sorry to see me go, and they tried to bill me for renewal 2 months later through collection. Don't use service is bad, leads are bad, they bill for leads you don't answer.

I posted a review on a company who is terrible. On other sites you only see bad reviews. However, on Homeadvisor there is one bad review and 5 good reviews. If you dealt with Ridgeview Restoration at all you would know that is impossible. The guy is a con, pure and simple. They did not post my bad review and the people from other sites I have contacted said their bad reviews are not posted for him. They did not post my daughter's bad review either. I have to think a company can get a bad review taken off. Can you pay homeadvisor to take off a bad review? Seems fishy to me.

No complaints. HomeAdvisor recommended a certified contractor which was not as expensive as I thought they would be for dealing with asbestos. All in all if you have to spend money dealing with a environmental and health hazard, which should be removed at the expense of the manufacturers, have the task performed correctly! It takes time and costs money have asbestos removed. There are many "Law Firms" dealing with people impacted by the material but nothing is available to assist a homeowner in funding such a project but folks like HomeAdvisor. Great recommendation. I like going to HomeAdvisor for their recommended contractors because I had been successful in hiring from the lists I get from them. It is a very good free service and I recommend them highly. The contractors also do a good job when they know you got them from HomeAdvisor, I think.

We've been a member of HomeAdvisor for a year or so. I've had nothing but positive experiences with them. The only couple of issues I've ever had was with the customers not being fully aware that every time they make an inquiry, that incur a charge. Nevertheless, my business has grown a little bit and I've recommended HomeAdvisor to some of my other contractor friends.

I was trying to find a reliable contractor and I was able to find one using this website and it was free. With Angie's list you have to pay to subscribe, here you don't. I read the reviews when I was searching. I will recommend this website to anyone who wants to find a contractor that they can trust basing it on the reviews from the customers.

Needed to find someone to replace a leaking 40 gallon gas hot water heater. HomeAdvisor gave me two plumbers, I clicked on the one that had the most reviews. I read the reviews, wrote down the name and phone number of the company and the next morning they actually called me! Very cool. The plumber did an excellent job and would recommend him and this site.

Sometimes HomeAdvisor is great and sometimes terrible. It depends on the day and what happened. But overall I'm satisfied with them.

Needed someone to install a new gutter on one side of our house and Premier Gutters were the guys that we went with. Brian Nix is a great business owner and did a fantastic job on our house. We only needed a gutter on the backside of the house and Brian did not discard such a small job. Treated us as if we were installing a lot more.

I've had a lot of success with HomeAdvisor. There are a lot of positives. The only negative is that sometimes they'd list the call wrong where they'd get more money for it. For example, a panel upgrade which they charge sometimes 20-something dollars but when you read the narrative of what the customer was asking for, they're saying they got a bad breaker. That's not a panel upgrade. That's just a troubleshooting deal and it should be a $15 problem. But other than that, they get the calls and I've had pretty good experience with them. I'm still with them and I've been with them for three years now (maybe longer).

I am very happy with HomeAdvisor. I have used this service twice. The first was for pool repair which is still in process -- that has had some issues/delays because of the company I picked. But the A/C repair, aside from the expense, was great! HomeAdvisor is fast and takes out some of guesswork when looking to hire.

When I went to the website, it was very easy to navigate and find what I was looking for. I will indeed use Home Advisor again in the future!

HomeAdvisor has kept me going. It's been pretty good, except for getting refunds for things that don't work for some reason. When I can't make stuff work, they call me back two weeks later and tell me the things are all right. I'm sure they're not asking the customer the right questions. It just makes it hard for me because when I talk to the customer, it's not my field. Hopefully it goes smooth.

I have used HomeAdvisor, with great results, for several projects. This latest project was for landscaping to prevent water coming into the house. I had only one referral, which I used and am satisfied. Before I chose the one referral I tried posting again, in hopes I could get more than one bid. I was disappointed they could not give me any more companies to call.

Each time, multiple contractors have responded quickly, enabling me to make an informed and fast decision. The on-line contractor-specific information is also very helpful. HomeAdvisor put me in touch with Affordable Electric here in Fishers, Indiana. ** arrived within 2 hrs and was able to accurately troubleshoot and repair the problem within 2 hrs. He described everything to me as he performed the repairs. He did an expert job and charged a reasonable fee. I will call HomeAdvisor in the future for more recommendations.

I've been with HomeAdvisor for a couple of years and everything has been good. They've been professional and I never had any issues. If I had any concerns, they addressed it immediately. It's been great and they've done well for me. It has its ups and downs but for the most part lately, it's been not as productive as I would have liked. But that's the way business is. I can convert some leads to a job and some were just kind of looking. The only downside that I see with HomeAdvisor is, of course, I pay for the membership. Nevertheless, I'd definitely recommend them.
