Got several options immediately, found a great company and was a very easy process.

This was done with solar foil for my work shop quickly and at a very fair price.

We offer septic tank services and we are satisfied with our experience with HomeAdvisor. However, we are no longer using their services because it was not meeting our needs. We got a lot more leads through them, but they were not attracting the kind of customers that we are after.

I still need more work on the door. But at least he made it temporarily work for now, otherwise I even couldn't lock my entrance door. He gave honest suggestion and also let me know how I can save my money.

I haven’t been getting emails which my office looks at. I just get texts on my cellphone. So every time I get a text from HomeAdvisor, I either have to text it to someone in my office right away, which she may or may not see, or call her, which she's always on the phone, because it doesn't come in the email. I called HomeAdvisor and they told me to log in and do a test email which I did which worked fine and he said, "Well, the test email's working fine and the other ones are working fine." I said "No, they're not." He said, "Well, I can’t help you out."

We had a shower leak from the master shower which has seeped into the dining room ruining our carpet. Great recommendation and fixed without having to rip out all of the shower.

We do all kinds of electrical work but mainly specialize in residential and small commercial work. Becoming a member in HomeAdvisor is an efficient process. However it's become so driven by speed that sometimes it's not worth it to take all the leads. The other thing is that if you don't call these people within the first ten minutes, it's almost like a lost call because three other people called them already. It's hard as a business owner to deal with that because it's like dealing with a cattle haul. HomeAdvisor hits me with a bunch of leads all at once just to make as much money as possible. Meanwhile, I can't accommodate ten leads in a day at the same time.

I hired a pro for tree removal because it was too hard for me to do myself. They were very friendly and extremely fair for the price. They did everything in a timely manner. I'm happy!

I've been with HomeAdvisor for a while and it's gone well. They've always responded to any request or question I may have about leads and they've been cooperative so I'm pleased. But I'm not pleased when I don't get the leads and customers find professionals that give their services away. One lady said she was able get work done for a mere $25. I don’t see how anybody can stay in business with $25.

I hired contractors for my roof replacement, exterior house painting, and deck replacement based on HomeAdvisor referrals. All three contractors were outstanding and did quality work.

I needed help quickly and HomeAdvisor emailed Mr ** immediately and with seconds he called me and arranged to haul away my debris early the next morning and by 8:30 am all debris and shrubs were gone. The website was very "user friendly" and I was able to obtain the services that I was interested it. I requested a quote for recessed lighting and received a call within 30 minutes. I chose this contractor to complete the work and will use him several times in the future.

I haven't been using HomeAdvisor for quite a while now. I'm not in the field right now and it's been a couple of years. But if I do go back into it, I will use HomeAdvisor again. They were very good and we did get a lot of jobs go through, which was a good thing. At the time, it was a little high in price. I don't know how it is now.

Since moving to Ashburn in 2001, I've not had any luck in finding a competent contracting or handyman service. Google doesn't cut it when looking for one. I was leery of using HomeAdvisor, but ended up finding a great local contractor that I will be going back to for a LOT of other projects. I am very pleased to find this resource and will be recommending it to friends, family, and neighbors.

I have nothing but good things to say about HomeAdvisor. We have a plumbing and construction company and they definitely helped our business. They have good leads and their people have always been very helpful. They're very professional and very fast when it comes to their service.

Tree removal and trimming 3 trees in power lines. They did an excellent job in the RAIN with no damage to anything and did a wonderful cleanup job.

Using HomeAdvisor was easy. Once I answered a few simple questions, a qualified contractor got back to me within 20 minutes.

I went on line about 6:45 pm, entered my problem on HomeAdvisor and they called me back in about 10 minutes and connected me to "DNA air conditioning". I described the problem and made an appointment for the next morning. They were on time and checked out both units. Fixed the problem in about an hour. Would recommend "HomeAdvisor" to friends.

Removal of old roofing 131 years old. Line box gutter and fix soffits that were rotted. Two dormers repaired and shingled with Inspire slate roofing. Applied beautiful copper flashing. It looks like a million bucks!!

HomeAdvisor has been terrific in matching me with the service providers or contractors for work needed to be completed at my home. Customer service is always pleasant and helpful.

The issue I have with HomeAdvisor is with the people that are using the service. Truthfully, I don't find great success and I feel they're not legit. I've been with them for a long time, going way back to ServiceMagic. I have right of refusal on my contract but some guys, from what I've heard, don't. Moreover, the leads that we accept are not there when we respond to them. If you accept the lead and call that client, there's no response to it, no contact person. It's either that's a lag between getting/asking for a response or something to that effect and that costs me money.

I searched online and was contacted immediately. I would use HomeAdvisor again.

I was very happy with my experience with HomeAdvisor. The plumber that was recommended was very good and the cost was very fair.

I started to use HomeAdvisor because I wanted to try to find customers but I specified that I want only for 3 months because I had to pay membership fees. I was very disappointed with them because they are some thiefs who only want to take my money and not helping at all. I had three time when they tricked me: first time telling me that the leads will cost me 12$ but I had to pay for every lead 21.99. Second they charged me like 70$ for not being able to take my money from my account although I call them second day I saw that I was not charged. And third time they charged me again renewing my contract with them without asking, like I already told before I just wanted to try for 3 months and 3 days after renewal they could not refund my money.

HomeAdvisor provided a decent amount of work and I'm satisfied.

We woke up to no water on Saturday. Pump wasn't working. Remembered seeing commercials for HomeAdvisor so looked for recommendations for our area. Contacted Drains+. He responded quickly. I was concerned about a high weekend service fee. He assured me would be $65. He responded quickly and repaired the pump within an hour. Very satisfied with repair and service. Recommend and will use ** again. Can't say enough about how pleased we are.

I was contacted by all 3 contractors represented. 2 visited within a couple of days, the bid from the contractor I selected came within 2 days of our initial visit. After being awarded the work, he came back a second time to cover the details. He and his crew did a good job and kept us informed. I thought the project cost were very good and the workmanship met or exceeded expectations. Most importantly, my wife is happy.

I have found HomeAdvisor to be very helpful when researching the best shop for our home repair needs. The web site allows you to contact and interview the shop, gives cost estimates in your general area and customer rating for those companies you are considering for hire. HomeAdvisor also helps you to filter out the undesirables!

HomeAdvisor is the best!

I discontinued service with HomeAdvisor due to billing. I got injured and I called to discontinue service but they kept sending me leads and they kept charging me, even though I called. And during that period when I was injured, I wasn't working. So for that reason, my bill went up to $300 and I ended up discontinuing the service. But HomeAdvisor helped us and any kind of lead service helped. I was happy with them until I had that problem.

Site was easy to use and made me feel very comfortable with the hiring of a handyman.

Our overall experience with HomeAdvisor was okay. But as home service professionals with HomeAdvisor, we're a little bit upset with them right now as far as the validity of calls and the way we're not getting the emails and text messages -- sometimes we will and sometimes we won't. Prior to this, about three or four years ago since we've been using them, we've always gotten a text or/and a call and an email, but it doesn't seem very consistent now.

The site really helped save me time when looking for a company to fix my air conditioning. I was able to have at least 3 different options and was able to have a technician come out to evaluate my air conditioning in the same day. Would highly recommend using this site.

Home Advisor (HA) connected me with 3 plumbing firms that would replace my water heater either the same night or the next day. HA was very professional, worked great and they even followed up with both email and phone calls to ensure I was happy and record my experience. I will use them again for any home service for which I do not already have someone to do it.

The installer I chose out of the three that Home Advisor recommended was fantastic. Professional, efficient, dependable, and they did a terrific job at a reasonable price. I will use Home Advisor again for any future home improvement projects.

When I first joined, they were kind of misleading in some ways. That was the only bad experience from it but overall, not too bad. They’re pretty good and after a few years with them, I pretty much established a pretty good client base. I’m a carpenter contractor. I do windows, doors, framing, interior trim and a lot of my clients now are return customers, versus more referrals and more leads. But it worked pretty good for me, and it still does. From time to time, I turn my leads on.

Discounted two responders because they did not bother to read what the project was and wanted to waste my time doing a visit, then an estimate, then schedule the work. Hey guys, some home owners are not dumb! The one I selected talked at length with us about the options, asking the questions they needed to do an estimate without all the visits. Our business offers residential electrical services and we've been members of HomeAdvisor for four years. I've been with their marketing process in the last year and I wish we had a better contact with them with being able to take out the phone and talk to them a little bit more. We have concerns but we can't talk to them, all we could do is type a note to them. This could have made me give them a higher rating. We also have a hard time figuring out the refund process, whether it gets credited or not on statements. But other than that, they've been great to work with. We certainly get quality leads from them.

They were able to fix my roof leak in record-breaking time which allowed me to make it to work. Everyone with the company was extremely courteous and explained all work before they proceeded. The rate they charged was more than fair and they even left a can of KILZ spray to cure any future water damage if I had any leaks or noticed water in my home in other spots. As a home service professional, I have a love/hate relationship with HomeAdvisor. We're still with them but I'm not happy because I've been with them for five years, and I want a category put in for wire shelving because we do not do wire and they won't give me credit for when I get a wire job. So we do another system which is totally different from HomeAdvisor. It aggravates me because they won't give me credit when I say that that's not my product. I get told, "Tough. It's a closet system." And I'm like, "No, it's not a product that we sell."

Being with HomeAdvisor has been a good experience. They have got us work, but it's hard to justify spending that much money. There's a lot of those leads that we don't get and can do a lot with and there are other ways we can advertise for the amount we spend. But I've been happy with them, they're good for a start. But I think once you get rolling you need more leads. There needs to be something when you go to a certain amount, it should stop. Four, five hundred bucks a month that I would get every lead that they can send my way.

HomeAdvisor is your best source for free referrals of local contractors and handymen. The review and rating system goes a long in making the decision of who to use. So far, all of the contractors I've selected have worked out perfectly and I always feel protected by HomeAdvisor should any issues arise. In my opinion, saving money elsewhere isn't worth the risk of having the project not done right the first time.

HomeAdvisor's service was fine but the problem is that they charge for stuff. If I'm paying them twice as much for generic things, they shouldn't tell me I'm getting something exclusively if I'm not actually getting it exclusively. But they're charging me the top rate of $25 for something that's supposed to be exclusive. But they said if the customer picks me along with 3 other customers, they're still charging the four companies the top rate. But that's like sending it out for a regular lead, which they would have charged, say, $11. That's how they do their business.

I would highly recommend this company. I received a prompt call back when I inquired about their service. They cleaned and inspected my chimney the same day. The quality and price of the service were excellent.

We're a sewer and drain company, and have been a member for at least 5 years (when they were still originally ServiceMagic until HomeAdvisor bought them out or merged). As far as my dealings with them, I've had no problems. Just some minor mix-up with people typing in wrong phone numbers or something of that nature. But maybe a couple of phone calls if I wanna change the areas where my business is going. It might take a phone call to get it right. But that’s not their fault, sometimes zip codes cross line. But all in all, it’s been no issues with me.

HomeAdvisor is not my go-to for business. We're a subcontractor that offers spray insulation. Our company has been around for a little while and the leads that we receive from HomeAdvisor are not always catered to what we do. They need to come to another clutch job here and there. In general, people like to know that we're on the Internet. It's the nature of people. They look for us on Google, Yellow Pages, then they go again onto HomeAdvisor. So when we're all over the place, we definitely seem like we're the one to call. Sometimes there's value to that as well. It's a good company though and I've no problem with them.

This site has definitely helped me with getting everything together for our home. My husband and I are always leaving but it gave us the reassurance that while we are gone we can still have everything taken care.

The site offered a nice selection and each installer contacted was able to come out for a quote within 72 hours and the work was completed within 10 days.

It was very reassuring to see the process the contractor goes through to become accepted with HomeAdvisor. The fact that the contractor pays a fee and is screened by HA takes a lot of the work and worry out of the customer's hands. This being my first experience using HA I can say, because of the results, it won't be the last.

We are electrical contractors, and we've been with HomeAdvisor for about five years. Only concern is when customers don't know what category to pick, which changes what we get charged, but it's not HomeAdvisor's fault.

HomeAdvisor is motivated and people there are friendly. Their sign-up process is relatively streamlined. They're pretty quick and efficient. Yet, they need to work on their lead scrubbing, which I know is a very difficult thing. Verifying the validity of leads is probably near impossible for any lead provider to do. There are contractors out there, big and small, that seek to waste other's time sometimes. Having said that, they certainly provide a lot of leads, and as long as you respond to them promptly, you can expect success.

As a new resident to the area HomeAdvisor is a great way to find need assistance. We have had good luck with TripAdvisor during our many travels and this quite similar. A great site to visit/use.

First time I have used HomeAdvisor, the contacts that I requested all replied within 24 hours. Some didn't do the type of work I was looking for (e.g. some did only exterior work and I had an interior job), but I don't see that as a negative. Have put the HomeAdvisor app on my phone as I will go there in the future when I need work done.

I had trouble with the leads they were sending me at the end and I never got credit for them. They were a lot of wrong numbers. I didn't have trouble before when they used to be ServiceMagic and they were doing all right. When they changed their name it went pretty bad. But I was getting some business so it was not bad. There were a lot of leads that we're getting so we try to call and set them up but the customer didn't answer the phone or when they answered, they say they didn't look for the service. I was getting five leads a day and I called all of them but most of them did not answer their phone. It was good when I started with them but at the end it was really bad.

After heavy water damage to a rental property, I needed to find drywall contractors quickly. 2 of the three "professionals" referred to me by HomeAdvisor either never provided promised estimates or didn't return calls to schedule the work or both. HomeAdvisor didn't post my negative reviews these contractors earned.

We were looking for qualified professionals to install an air conditioning system in our home, built in 1992. It's got a forced hot water heating system (we live in New England), so we couldn't easily install a duct-based air conditioning system. However, we didn't want a ductless, because we did NOT want holes cut in our home and ugly units in multiple rooms. We found a great company who suggested a high velocity a/c system (smaller vents) that was ideal for the layout of our home. The vents look like recessed lights, and we are very, very pleased with the care and expertise of the company we chose. I'd also submitted a request to Thumbtack, but didn't get a single professional interested in bidding. We've already recommended the company we chose to at least 5 other interested homeowners, and we'll definitely use HomeAdvisor again, since we had great results.

HomeAdvisor is cool. I've been working with them for eight years, servicing and repairing structure, such as top to bottom plumbing. And with them, it's like a competition. But if you know what you’re doing, they'll know whether you know what you know. So far, they've been good, that's why I won't give them a bad rating.

I purchased an older home that needed rewiring since the wiring was from the 1950's. Everything was rewired. Many unneeded outlets that were series-wired were removed. New polarized plugs and GFI circuits were installed, and a whole house surge protector as lightning is frequent in the area. The installer was prompt, explained things clearly, and very professional in his conduct.

Our company provides roof and exterior cleaning services. HomeAdvisor gives us leads and sometimes they're not really leads. They fall into our category of work. We call them up, dispute the leads and they're pretty good about taking the charges off of our statements. I've been with them for so long and I get probably 90% of my business from them. But they've changed some things over the years. Before when we used to get a lead, we get a phone call and it would say "You have a new lead provided to you by HomeAdvisor. Customer is looking for this service." It used to say "Press 1 to be connected with the customer" but it doesn't do that anymore. We don't get the opportunity to press the button and it doesn't auto-dial them. That was the one thing I liked about them and it was a pretty good feature. But overall they helped increase our income and I would recommend them.

Immediately HomeAdvisor provides me with several LICENSED contractors' contact info, ratings, customer reviews, some rates. I have a choice to immediately schedule a quote visit. HomeAdvisor follows up with emails to determine my satisfaction with contractor appointments and services. HomeAdvisor does not charge me any money.

We service many Smokey Bones restaurants throughout the eastern US, and we needed a tech to address video issues at one in Dayton, OH. I was able to use HomeAdvisor to locate a local company. ** from Precision TV & Electronics contacted me right away and was able to schedule a service call to the site the next day where he addressed the issues they were having at a fair price. Very fast service.

Response to my request was immediate. We set up a time and ** showed up pretty much on time. He checked everything, explained the problems, and corrected all of them. He got the generator working properly, changed the oil, cleaned the carburetor and fuel line, and then showed me the best way to turn off the generator and keep everything running better. EXCELLENT service call!

We've been a member of HomeAdvisor for four years and our business offers service plumbing, residential and others. Their sign-up process was efficient and they also did a background check. Being with them was really good because they gave me control of making money and I didn't have to spend money in marketing directly so it came down to my effort. But now we get a lot of leads and if we don't monitor them, we end up paying for them anyway. It's becoming more of an expense for us because we don't monitor the leads. It's not that they're giving us so much. It's just that we have a lot of other things to keep at here because our business has grown. We're deciding on whether or not we want to keep it or not. But overall I would definitely recommend HomeAdvisor to a new business or a person who's starting out.

I've been a member of HomeAdvisor for 11 years. Back then it was very easy. Now I have a love-hate relationship with them, which is a necessary tool. I had a problem and it took very long to resolve. The problem was HomeAdvisor had offered a direct match but the way that it was presented to me didn't make me realize that they were going to duplicate everything. So basically I was competing against myself in the regular internet. They still offered the same program and if they read my notes they would see that I didn't want it. It took almost seven months to go down. There was a lawyer threat too. HomeAdvisor had no permission to use my copyrighted logo and duplicate a page so it was resolved and I'm happy with it.

Fan Motor on Furnace was not blowing air conditioning through the vents. 20 year old furnace needed to be replaced and the new response was immediate and efficient after contacting Home Advisor for recommended companies. Problem solved in a couple of days after my initial contact.

I was very pleased with the immediate supply of roofing contractors in my area, and quality ones at that, that I received from Home Advisor.

I like my experience using HomeAdvisor and they bring me more business. The quality of their calls could be better but overall, I'm happy with HomeAdvisor.

Our business offers residential plumbing and light commercial services. We submitted application (our qualifications and experience), certificate of insurance, and licenses to HomeAdvisor for us to become a member. We were approved and we've been with them for a long time and have had great success with them. Anytime they call, they mostly contact us when they've had an exact major lead for us and they've always been real courteous whenever they've been switching over their customer to us. Our relationship with them has definitely helped our business. There's only one complaint that we would say we have is when they send out the leads either by text message, emails or an alert from the app, we are real quick to respond right within a minute or less and sometimes the customer says that we've already been contacted and it's getting to someone.

It is reassuring that these service pros have already been checked out by HomeAdvisor, and I am not blindly choosing someone for my project who is capable of putting up a website.

HomeAdvisor is a real good thing. There's a lot of tricks that get snuck in on us a lot of times. Sometimes when you're on the website, you cannot hit submit and they'll still send your information out sometimes. And the way that I know that for sure is when I first got on with them. I looked at it online and it said view a contractor and next thing I know I had contractors calling my house. And I never hit submit. On the flip side, I've also called people before and they tell me, "Well, I was just looking. I didn't ask for anything."

He constructed a beautiful tile walk in shower for use by a disabled person. The shower was everything I hoped for and more. Workmanship is beyond reproach. Trying to get him to bid on other projects in my home.

The one thing I don't like about my experience is that some people go online just to search -- they are not even ready for the lead yet. That has happened a number of times and I just credited it to people doing the wrong thing so I didn't dispute it. But other than that I'm satisfied with HomeAdvisor where I'll keep it going. I definitely got a lot of work off of it although I could use more leads as I don't seem to be getting much for the last month or so.

A team of seven came and replaced an old roof in 6 hours. The team worked efficiently without a break. The work was well done, and they cleaned up the ground after the work even with a magnet to pick up the nails. A real A-Team indeed.

I've used HomeAdvisor for a long time and I've had a fairly good experience with them. There's good things and bad things but they're all acceptable.

In the morning at first start, the AC unit would surge. My bad I had not had any service done on it for many years so I thought I would check with Home Advisor to get some information on local AC repair companies. The company I looked at first and read the reviews seemed to fit what I was looking for. Before I even had a chance to leave their Web page I had a call from the company. Having liked what I read I decided to go with them. The only downside I have with the Home Advisor was I then received calls from other companies. If I had been looking for cost estimates I would have liked that but I was pretty happy with the company I had selected. I will use Home Advisor for all my jobs in the future.

I loved the entire experience until I got to the survey. It is SOOOOOOOOO broken on mobile that I almost didn't try to fill it out on my computer, but the guys deserved a great review. Also, on my computer (full site for the review) I put in 1.5 hrs, and hit submit at which point the survey errored out and told me to fix the errors but there wasn't any field that was highlighted to show me it was wrong. Fix it.

I spoke with a representative about quotes I received over a year ago and she was able to find the one I wanted to use. I felt this was very helpful since it saved me from having to repeat the process. I felt this was excellent record keeping.

I ordered (4) HD security cameras for my home after experiencing issues with my neighbor's son, his friends and their basketball hoop. He was hitting my cars with the basketballs and when I approached his mother about it, she was completely unconcerned and refused to move or adjust the position of the hoop. I then discovered that this was a civil matter and that my HOA at The Retreat would do nothing to assist me.

My business offers electrical services and has been a member with HomeAdvisor for a year and three months. The process to become a member was rocky there for a minute because they said they would only take out $99 out of my account but they took out $200 which caused a major problem in my account. But at that time, I was still in my house fighting cancer. But I was told and I was promised that that wouldn't happen and it did happen and it caused a problem with the bank. But I must admit, after that, my experience has been A+ and in the end, it was very helpful to me. Their team were professional and friendly.

It's nice to see lists of pros in your area for jobs.. But I am finding that many pros listed don't do the work that they are categorized to do. I also am having a lot of trouble with call backs and even no shows for appointments. It is not much better than looking up phone numbers online for your companies in your area.

Signed up after lots of calls from a rep. I gave them a prepaid credit card for 200.00 to get us leads for our business. The leads were not services we provide and they charged us over 60.00 for some leads after telling me they would not be more than 35.00. I called the rep and told them I was done and they would not get another penny from me and the 200.00 was all they would ever get.

Very helpful locating a contractor in my area. In the initial questions about a project, HA asks "are you planning for the future & do you want to be contacted." When you select future planning & do not contact, the consumer should not receive immediate phone calls.

My experience with HomeAdvisor is good. We do a lot of estimates. If I had something to change though, it would be when they put the ad in, they don't always give you the street number on the ticket. That's a downfall. So when we dispatch a call if we get the text, there's no number. If it's 2612, they're forgetting that. Other than that, I would absolutely recommend them.

Searched for electrical assistance and were sent two options. Contacted each and one we found on our own. One from HomeAdvisor was the cheapest and they were great for our job. Have used this site before to get home remodeling help and have always been happy with the people who came out. Definitely using them again when we need help.

** removed a very large garden fence, about 30 FT by 30 FT consisting of picket fencing with large heavy posts, horizontal bottom boards, and wire mesh 2ft high all around. He then built the same style fence using pressure treated lumber fencing, 4 by 4 ft posts every 8 ft, heavy bottom boards, and then made a custom-built gate with new hardware. All posts were cemented into the ground and covered with crushed stone and finally with dirt. Once I add caps to the top of the posts and paint it all white, it will look like a work of art.

In February 2015, I went to HomeAdvisor on the internet looking for a plumber. I immediately received a phone call from Capital Plumbing, LLC. Since I let them into my home, it has been one long nightmare. I don't know how you screen potential companies for your service, but it needs to be completely revamped. They are the most unprofessional people I have ever dealt with. I was double charged for part of the work and other tasks have never been finished even though they have been paid in full. They make appointments and then don't show up or even call. They have repeatedly not returned my follow-up calls. If you want people to take HomeAdvisor seriously, you will remove Capital Plumbing, LLC from your referral list.

Last year I was advised that I would have to replace my swamp cooler. I knew this would be an expense. I was very concerned when calling HomeAdvisor because I thought they would recommend something twice as expensive as someone I locally had found before. They were actually cheaper. The ladies that took my message were very helpful, asked for clarity on what I needed and were very timely in both taking the messages and delivering them to the vendor. I had a very good experience with HomeAdvisor and will call them again!

HomeAdvisor connected me with pros very quickly, and the pros responded within minutes of submitting my request. Would use the service again for future projects.
