This was my first experience with HomeAdvisor. It is a very user friendly site and several different companies were given for me to choose from. The customer reviews were very helpful. Overall a very positive experience.

The representative gave me exactly what I was looking for in a quick and courteous manner. I was directed to professional contractors and within minutes I had an appointment set-up for my repairs.

Called and got quote for installation of an attic fan in which I was to buy. The $ figure was for the project whether it took 1 hour or 4. The price was reasonable and I would do business with this company again. They were quick with the quote and on time with the service.

HomeAdvisor followed through with everything in a very prompt and friendly manner. I enjoyed using them. This was my first experience with HomeAdvisor and if needed, I would use them again.

I had a large master bath painted. The ceiling is vaulted so painting was challenging. I also had another bathroom's ceiling replaced and painted. They did an excellent job. My master bath looks fabulous, they are meticulous in clean-up. My husband and I were very happy with their professionalism, skill and service.

I took a chance with this website after considering paying for Angie's List, because it did not have a fee. So far I am very happy with the results and will use again for my next project. Had 2 companies come and give me an estimate and checked online as well as locally in the newspapers about current prices. Chose a pro because plumbing is no joke and it takes skills to operate a rooter. They removed a bunch of those WIPES that are truly our enemies and must have been invented by a plumber to fight unemployment! I was well treated, folks were on time, courteous and effective. My money was well spent and I hold a guarantee, 30 days on the job.

I replaced my hail damaged roof and repaired the rain damage to the ceiling in my home. I found some A/C duct damage that had to be repaired before the ceilings could be finished.

They charge me $285 for a 1-year membership. They told me that they would charge me, ONLY IF I TAKE THE JOB that they call me and transfer me to. He said you will not be charge if you don't take the job. I did ONE JOB ONLY OF $100, they charge me $71 because they email me 5 jobs that I did not take. STAY AWAY FROM HOMEADVISOR. Now they would give me my money back - it's only been 1 week. Crooks.

Home lawn maintenance - I received 3 recommendations and the first one to call me came 2 hours after I posted my ad.

The online process took only 5 min., and another 3 min. with a potential pro service rep. and I had someone arrive with a bid within 2 hours.

I was impressed with being able to talk to the professional before I even got off the computer. How cool. He did all he said he would and we are very satisfied.

I was looking for an HVAC technician. Used this site, it gave me a few options. I read the reviews, hired a contractor, and I'm very happy with the service. I will return if I need a repair and am not sure who to go with. The fact that it's free and the reviews are verified is important to me.

We are very pleased with the finished project. We had rock put in part of our front yard to cut down on water usage and some of the work and expense involved with grass.

Maid service was a very good experience. Drywall pro hard to get calls back. The one drywall quote received was very high. Painters are not responding. The one painter that did respond is questionable. Two flooring pros responded quickly, reasonable quotes were given and one accepted.

HomeAdvisor is the best. I've been with them since the beginning and they're like having a brother from another mother. My experience with them has all been positive. I'll give you a great analogy: picture a big bold oak tree and ServiceMagic, HomeAdvisor and I grew as a trunk. They started a seedling, I watered it and it nurtured wonderful branches. Now, the branches made wonderful appendages. So we've all grown and we continue to grow as a team and I've expanded greatly from this organization. If you grow and nurture the system they provide you, the system does work. This company treats me super. I am blushed to be looked after, nurtured and canoodled by this company.

HomeAdvisor has provided many of the contractors I needed in order to get my mother's home fixed up to sell. I am doing most of this by phone as I don't live anywhere near the jobsite. All of the work has been professionally completed, quickly done and to the highest quality. A friend of mine told me about HomeAdvisor.com and am I ever glad she did.

Ceiling Fan install - This was a tough job as it was in a master bedroom with a 12.5 foot ceiling. The guys were very professional, and worked very quick. The hole they made were very small and left "paint ready". I will hire they directly for my electrical job.

HomeAdvisor has been good with my handyman business for decks, fences, and stuff like that but overall frustration with their lack of knowledge in the solar field. What I'm using it for right now is solar electric and they don't have anybody in their company that even knows how to market it. With one of my companies, it's been pretty good. With the other company, it's been pretty horrible. I’m dissatisfied with them.

Needed a plumber and roofer and had good luck using HomeAdvisor.

Home Advisor is the best, I have actually used them 3 times - tile and grout cleaning and sealing, exterior house painting, and entry door installation to my home. Each time I have gotten the best of the best, good prices, impeccable workmanship, and great work ethic every time, plus the service is free!! Very happy with this service.

HomeAdvisor provided the information I needed to solve an air conditioning problem quickly with a great professional, at a fair price and in my immediate time frame.

We are having some issues with HomeAdvisor right now. When we set the account up, we were supposed to only get leads specifically for what we do. It was not supposed to go live until everything was set up but they went ahead and threw it out there and we've gotten leads on things that we don’t do. I can't seem to get any satisfaction from them. We don't do the handyman part of it anymore. They knew that when we set the account up. So that’s where we're having the issue.

I have really enjoyed using HomeAdvisor. I've used it twice so far. And for any future needs I may have, I will definitely be using again.

I paid for a number of leads, some of which were unreachable. The problem is at $40 to $50 per lead, I expect that lead to at least turn into contact with a potential client. A lot of times the client was completely unreachable. Sometimes clients get confused with the type of service provider they need and as a tradesman sometimes HomeAdvisor will sell you leads for work which is out of your skillset. The biggest annoyance is the Papas website, which pretends to be local, but is in fact designed to get leads for HomeAdvisor, and homeyou. Often the client is bewildered as they are expecting a call from Papa's flooring, or Papa's drywall.

We've been very satisfied members of HomeAdvisor since 2006. Everything's going good including the interactions with their service team. I'd recommend them to a friend.

When I signed up to become a member with HomeAdvisor, they told me that they did a background check and made sure I had insurance and a license. The sign-up process was very convenient and easy. I didn't have to do a lot of running around. The team at HomeAdvisor is very helpful. And since my business offers services in grout and tile restoration anytime they put me in for a job outside that's not my description of work like a stone job, I would call them and anybody I talked to would walk me through it, find the customer, and check it. Then they'll do whatever is necessary on their end and then they will give me a credit back for it since they had charged me.

I had been waiting three days for an air conditioning technician and he never showed up. With HomeAdvisor I got a company within 5 minutes. They came and did the job within 3 hours. I'm thrilled!

I am replacing a hot water heater and the old shut-off valves for the cold water input had expired and would not completely stop the flow of water. Jeff ** of Butler Plumbing was out the same day and replaced the broken spigot type valves with new lever operated ball valves. He did an excellent job for a very fair price and was finished in about 30 minutes from starting. I would recommend Butler Plumbing to anyone who needs any sort of plumbing work performed.

I have utilized HomeAdvisor twice and am very satisfied with their service. I hired an electrician and a gutter cleaning service and was extremely satisfied with the contractors they recommended. The service was excellent and the prices were reasonable. I would highly recommend HomeAdvisor to anyone anticipating a project in their home.

So far I asked for two services and used their references both times. One was for a garage door and the other was for a plumber. In both cases I used the small company versus the large one.

Get a contractor to respond. Many "suggested" pros never return calls or emails. Most "suggested" pros tried to immediately UPSELL rather than READ the detailed list of work that the CUSTOMER wanted done. (Repair rather than total replacement of siding - customer had replacement shingles!) Only provided "free" estimates during times when folks WORK (e.g., 8 am to noon). REAL CLOWNS! My mother in law recommended this website to me after doing some drywall repairs in her home. I recently had my mother pass away and there was some ceiling damage so I used Angie's list to find a drywall repair guy. I wish I had know about this site first though. Angie's list makes you call the people yourself, and you have to pay for the service. The man I hired through here was a lot less expensive. Contacted me to give me a quote over the phone (which was thorough and accurate), was much friendlier and did a better job. Plus he was on time, which is always a plus. I will be using this company in the future and recommending it to friends and family.

I was impressed and surprised how well and easy it was to use the website. The site connected me to Asheville Air and they were very quick to fix our problem. Don was there in 1 hour even though it was not an emergency. He showed me what the problem was, then suggested I order the part online which turned out to be 50% of what it would cost him to install it.

I have used HomeAdvisor a number of times and each time I have gotten a very professional, competent, and reasonable company who did my job quickly and proficiently, and did it at a reasonable price. First off, this is a site that contractors PAY to advertise their services. This is inferior to others like Angie's list where contractors cannot pay for prominent advertising. I found a mold remediation "expert" through Home Advisor, boy was I sorry. He turned out to be a complete and utter fraud, and I feel he stole over $600 from me in the form of services not rendered. When I tried to file a 0.5 star review, the software on HomeAdvisor suddenly developed a glitch. I made a call to customer service, and was routed to 3-4 different operators. None of whom seemed eager to allow me to disparage THEIR paying customer. It took well over an hour and a half to submit a (already written) review.

HomeAdvisor is a fantastic service. It's easy to use and although I have only used it once, I plan on using them again in the future.

You spend money when you go look at jobs but you don't get it because customers don't have an idea of how much the job costs before you do that. Even for a consumer, I wouldn't recommend it because when you want something done, there should be a calculator that you could go to and find out how much that project would roughly cost you. That way you could say, "Yes, we'll have it done." I wouldn't even think about dealing with them again. They haven't really changed anything.

Visiting father's home in Florida, sprayer on kitchen sink was leaking. Bought replacement. Late afternoon used HomeAdvisor to look for someone to install. Immediate response from a handyman but he informed us that this work should be done by licensed plumber. Selected Butler Plumbing. Again immediate response (still on computer when Butler Plumbing called and we scheduled work for next morning. Jeff was very personable and professional.

I'm happy with the service I hired. But one of the options was for a company located far away, so it doesn't make sense for them to drive over an hour to mow one lawn. In the end I only really had one option, fortunately it has worked out so far.

This is a good service. We will use it again for other future projects.

Roof had missing shingles that were discovered upon a leak in an upstairs bedroom. Asked around about roofing companies and a friend suggested HomeAdvisor. I went online and filled out a request and started receiving phone calls from companies within 24 hours. Roof was repaired in less than 5 days (entire process from request).

We signed up at HomeAdvisor six years ago. Our business provides everything a handyman does - paintings, drywall, plumbing, electrical, decks, reproofing. We call HomeAdvisor all the time if we get a duplicate request for service or a customer's phone number or email is not good and they're very helpful.

Installed dishwasher. I am so pleased with the project - I am hiring them to replace the garbage disposal.

Rudy the electrician from Lone Mountain Electric came by and quickly discerned that our efforts to 'test' and 'reset' the GFCI outlets in our sink area had failed. He gave a quick lesson on how to do that. He also explained why our mysterious outlet in the living room worked some times but not others. It was controlled by a switch at the front door! Rudy got everything solved within 15 minutes, and got permission from the home office to not charge us, as he had not had to really correct anything. We will call these nice folks again if we have further need of electrical work.

Powder coating counter top and shower tile - Was impressed with the work. There were cracks in the cultured marble sinks so had the bathroom counter coated.

HomeAdvisor seems like a good way to obtain vendors. However, when you use any of the search methods (Find A Pro, Create Project, etc. ), even though you specifically indicate on the web page that you do not want to be contacted, and instead select "Just show me the pros", Home Advisor spams your contact information to a list of companies. You then receive calls from those companies. I created a project on the HomeAdvisor website. After doing so I was asked whether I wanted someone to contact me now, or if I just wanted to see the list of professionals (I believe the wording is connect now or "Just show me the professionals"). Even though I chose NOT to be contacted, and chose to JUST see the list of professionals, I received 5 calls in the first two minutes from vendors who said that HomeAdvisor contacted them and indicated that we were a lead.

We're a building maintenance company. We do pressure cleaning, painting, etc. I was with Service Magic and it's been an okay ride. Not great, but it's not horrible. They pass a lot of these leads off to really crappy companies and they underbid and I end up siding overpriced price point with guys that aren't even insured or licensed because HomeAdvisor doesn't bother checking. They have a massive improvement that they need to make. One of them is verifying that the companies that they're putting out are quality companies and that they're not just throwing anything into the pot. I'm putting bid down against crappy companies and they're basing this off of lead generation based off of customer experience but some of these people that we're bidding against have no ratings, no nothing.

I've had nothing but problems with HomeAdvisor. As someone who knows nothing about any household project, beyond using a plunger or changing a light bulb, I'm pretty much their target demographic. But getting any solid leads, for whatever project I'm doing, is more a headache than a help. For starters, I'm confused about how their whole website works: I've filled out requests specifically for one company to give me a quote, only to receive a call back a few minutes later, from a totally different company (and I know you can post general needs on the site so anyone can contact you; I'm not talking about that). I'm one of those people that love to sort through reviews, and I largely pick people based on that... So I don't want some other fly-by-night company contacting me, hoping for business that I want to give to someone else.

Thank goodness for HomeAdvisor. The customer reviews are very helpful. I felt at ease knowing that the business that I contacted had been vetted for integrity and a lot of other background information about them was available. It was so much better than looking through the yellow pages.

Within 4 hours after completing the information, I had 2 calls and set up appointment with 1 of the inspection companies for 3 days later. Contractor was very professional and did a great job.

Home Advisor provided choices that allowed for worry-free searching for estimates. Great as a free service because the level of utilization does not require a subscription. Only one of the recommended did not provide all services needed.

I needed someone to look at my swamp cooler and do some repairs. The contractor I found was great - it was easy and it actually saved me money. The one thing that would be better is if communication (via SMS) and payment (could also be via SMS) was facilitated better through HomeAdvisor.

The work was done great and fast. These guys where on top of it from the moment they got there. They brought all their tools and the equipment they were installing.

Finding a good contractor at HomeAdvisor was very easy. Listing the job I needed done immediately gave me 3 contractors to work with. They were automatically contacted and immediately called me about the job. The reviews posted gave me a general idea what kind of contractor I could expect and which one I should consider. The job was completed in a couple of days after going through HomeAdvisor.

We are in the construction business and HomeAdvisor has been great. They are unbelievable! They have been very, very good, and I would recommend them.

Improve your follow-up E-mails. If you want to know the status of a particular project, put in a hot-link that goes DIRECTLY to that project; not to a general status screen. And put the relevant information at the top of the form. (I don't need to see your logo again. I had just clicked on the link.) Also, include the options such as "Waiting for cost estimates" and "Waiting for contractors to reply" and "Need more recommended contractors".

Friendly, organized and prepared. Made sure everything was safe, operated properly and neat before leaving. Very pleased with the service.

I have hired several contractors recommended by Home Advisor, including water heater replacement, HVAC replacement, and landscaping and have had good experiences with all of them services.

Is the first referral service I have used that I have been pleased with! Been using HomeAdvisor since the spring of this year and, so far, everyone I have contacted has been so down to earth and professional. Prices have been reasonable, too.

The only problem with HomeAdvisor is sometimes the people fills out the form and want services that I don't provide which had happened a couple of times this week. For example, a lady called today and wanted a carpet dyed. We don't dye carpets. We do carpet refasten and stretch. But it seems some people are just too dumb to read what’s down there. But usually, I get a credit back for those. The other thing is that we close about 90% of our leads so we're happy from that standpoint. Overall, we definitely make a profit in being a part of HomeAdvisor and I'm pleased with it.

I've used HomeAdvisor for both of gutter cleaning and tree service. HomeAdvisor checks out all companies they advertise before recommending them. I have not been disappointed.

The first estimate was way out of the ballpark by a thousand dollars. The second estimate was a thousand dollars less for a better product. So I would advise your visitors to your sites to always get several estimates for their projects so they don't get taken advantage of.

HomeAdvisor provided 5 potential contractors within 15 minutes of the request. All had been previously rated with 4 to 5 "stars" and had customer comments on each.

I called around 1:00 pm and the serviceman was at my house two hours later! I received a call from the service provider about two minutes after I called.

I own a window cleaning and pressure wash business. I registered a name and got an insurance in order to become a member with HomeAdvisor. They have nice people and their customer service is okay. However, the leads aren’t good anymore.

I sent in my credentials and HomeAdvisor accepted me as a member. My business offers window cleaning, car wash and garden cleaning. The last time that I activated my service, I realigned and directed it to all the commercial buildings and I cut back because I was busy and I wasn’t able to get to my leads as promptly as I wanted to. HomeAdvisor could supply my leads and works. Sometimes the leads were not the policy that they could have or could have been but I would still recommend them.

Have used HomeAdvisor before to find contractors. Generally satisfied with the companies that pass their initial screenings. There are other contractor-finders out there, but HomeAdvisor is probably the first one we go to. Plus, they do follow-ups on customer satisfaction with their recommended companies.
