I like the convenience of having companies readily available to choose from. I also appreciated all of the reviews from the other home owners to aid in my decision.

I saved a lot of time - even when I have searched for a service who is not accepting new clients, they helped me find another service and left me with options.

We're a remodeling contractor who have been a member of HomeAdvisor for 7 years. They give leads and the more we spent on our membership, the more leads we get. But not every lead can turn into work, although if we have some problems with the lead, we can call HomeAdvisor. Our relationship with them has been good for our business so far. There are ups and downs but it did work for me so I'd recommend them.

I found a good repair person thru the service. I would definitely recommend it.

This was a first for them and myself. The Job was Replacing a regular steel door with a high security door/frame combo. The Contractor had never seen one like this but was open to learn how to do it. We learned a lot about doing this type of work and will be better prepared for the next iteration.

I used HomeAdvisor on a whim and it worked out great! I found an awesome company (that I had never heard of) to repair some siding on my home. They did a great job and I'm so happy with the outcome. It was so easy, from start to finish. I will definitely use HomeAdvisor in the future.

Our business provides tree-trimming and removal as well as treatment of diseases and fungi on trees and we started using HomeAdvisor about 2011 or 2012. Since then, our calls and referrals have increased. However, we get a lot of people calling us for their tree transplantation or landscaping needs, and we don't do that. I think HomeAdvisor needs to change some keywords or something in their system to separate us from a landscaping company. A couple of times, I've also experienced not receiving enough information on a referral (no number or incorrect number), hence I was unable to reach the customer.

Responsive and Courteous. From beginning to end, the experience was a class act.

I have a rental home where my family and I reside in one unit and rent the other, it's how we pay our mortgage. We hired Savage services through HomeAdvisor to paint, replace and paint 3 interior doors, replace the exterior french doors and a few other basic services. We got a contractor who literally, left my wife in tears of frustration from the unprofessional and sloppy work. Not to mention the $6000 this guy took from us. He was annoyed and got visibly upset whenever I respectfully asked him not overspray and correct some paint work that was poorly done. I found myself trying to keep him happy just to get it done.

What a great free service when looking for reputable contractors in my area. I have used the service several times and would recommend and use it again.

Repair walls destroyed by water damage - I find HomeAdvisor an excellent resource for giving me informed options when hiring contractors.

Workman arrived on time. Explained the process and verified that each TV set was working.

Old window fell out of frame; new window needed as the old type no longer manufactured. Exterior painting also completed around 2 windows. Result -- looks and functions well.

Air Duct Cleaning - Customer Service agent called immediately after inquiry with several options available in my area. The agent emailed me a list of the businesses with contact information, etc.

My experience with HomeAdvisor was not good. I called and ask for some work to get accomplished and it was a situation that I needed in the next 3 or 4 days. However, I didn't get a callback. Then, when I got a callback, it's two weeks later.

The list of recommended service providers seemed adequate. I did check many of the reviews before selecting the company. Service was fast, efficient, and correct.

I was searching for a company to pour a concrete driveway and patio at the side of the house. I was also looking for a person to xeriscape my front yard. Home Advisor helped me find the right person for the job in Ross **.

While searching for a reputable air duct cleaning service, I clicked on the HomeAdvisor url. I am glad I did. I used the one HA recommended and am very satisfied with their work.

2 indoor 1 outdoor electrical outlets were not working... found out 2 were 1/2 switches and the last one had a loose wire.

Among the names supplied I was able to select the matching company which did an excellent job cleaning my windows. Initial online list was a good start, however the list that was emailed to me ended up to be the more useful one from which I selected the company for the job.

Our business offers residential plumbing. We've been a member with HomeAdvisor back when they were ServiceMagic. Their signup process was fine and normally, my interactions with their team were good. We've had a couple of bad experiences where we had to add information and they didn't want to credit it back, but we worked it out. Other than that, my relationship with HomeAdvisor had affected my business in a good way.

Painter I used in the past was no longer working and our Homeowners' Association management company was no help in finding another one. HomeAdvisor helped me find a reliable painter who does high quality work. You provide a great service.

Floor refinishing - I was pleased at how easy it was to find a good company to do the work.

HomeAdvisor's recommendations have always been great for us! Have done at least 3 different projects and all with much success!

We do landscape and landscape maintenance. We're currently not a member with HomeAdvisor; however, when we were a member with them our interaction with their team went fairly well. Apparently, HomeAdvisor is a waste of money if you're not on top of it. But if you can get to the leads right away, then it's fairly decent. They were also good for business because word-of-mouth spreads afterwards. In fact, I have recommended HomeAdvisor to friends and they still currently use it.

Cooling Experts were just wonderful. Nice and polite (and actually spoke English!). Phil (the guy who did the work was friendly and fun and knows exactly what he's doing. Had my husband watch the whole process, explaining each step. Couldn't have been nicer!! Cleaned out six years of gunk inside the AC. Which was causing a problem with the air flow. Filled the unit with more Freon and the whole AC is working like new!!

I was happy to find service people who came with recommendations I could trust. I would use this service again.

I have hired two different companies attached to HomeAdvisor. The actual choice, of course, comes after talking with the companies themselves and HA doesn't have much to do with that, but the result is good. I think HA could be more involved in recommending these people if they want reviews of their work in this field; one feels the names come out of the hat or from their fee from the companies. The follow-up is very thorough, though.

The bathroom remodel was done by Barron Custom Interiors. He and his colleague were so wonderful and helpful. They made a difficult project seem like child's play. They walked us through it stage by stage and nothing was too much trouble for them. Indeed we now look to them for every home improvement project that we wish to carry out. They have since carried out further work for us. As we continue with the remodel of our home if Barron interiors can do the work they will be asked to carry it out. Thank You Very Much HomeAdvisor. It was because of Barron Custom Interiors that we will always return to Home Advisor for their assistance. Mac Electrical cemented that belief.

Got the name of Veteran Flooring from HomeAdvisor. Called me the day I requested info on our flooring problems. Removed carpet and found dark pet stains. Home Advisor directed me to 2 reputable companies. I chose one of the two after also checking with two other contractors (four estimates).

When I went to HomeAdvisor there was an option that said something like "Homeowner will contact contractors." I selected that option because I did not want to be bombarded with phone calls. After selecting that option I was still bombarded with calls from potential contractors. The system needs to be looked at for when that option is selected it works as intended. When the homeowner selects their contractor, there should be a way for your system to recognize that and have the other potential contractors stop calling. Your processes need to be looked at to correct this.

While searching for information on repairing old houses, HomeAdvisor popped up and gave me suggested contractors. I was happy to receive the information and contacted several. I contracted with NewAge Services and was extremely happy with their work.

I got a call within 2 minutes of submitting my request. The contractor was at my house within 2 hours of contacting me to give me an estimate.

My business offers electrical-related services and has been a member of HomeAdvisor for a while now. It's normally where I depend on the most for my business. The sign-up process was easy and my interactions with their team have been pretty good.

I looked on Angie's List, but couldn't find anyone who specifically said that they did that. I found Frank Crawford of Crawford Interiors through HomeAdvisor. Zak did a great job overcoming a poor construction issue in my condo. He repaired my bathtub tap leak, installed a new trip lever in the bathtub and also installed a new bathroom sink fixture. He came up against some issues after finding a construction problem with the hole for the hot tap, but was very creative and solved the problem. I've had a mixed experience with HomeAdvisor since they've been good in the pressure washing leads that they give me. The prices are reasonable for a lead and the quality of the lead that comes in are usually people who are serious about doing business and it has worked out really well. I got to give HomeAdvisor a lot of credit for how they handled that particular sweep of leads which are the pressure washing, deck cleaning and sealing, pressure washing for business and roof washing.

I contacted HomeAdvisor to get assistance with residential/commercial cleaning leads. The gentleman that signed me up also signed me up and charged me for programs I specifically told him I did not need. He also informed me that he had 120 leads within 20 radius, I later found out I only had 12-15. They refused to offer any type of refund even for the program that I did not wish to participate in. When asked to speak with someone that could make that decision I was told there wasn't anybody, not even his supervisor. I was only on for less than 3 weeks and only received 3 bad leads.

While I appreciate having found a cleaning person through home service, I am extremely disappointed in your Terms of Service and how they are not honored. When looking to review cleaning vendors, I specifically clicked "DO NOT CONTACT ME." However, HomeAdvisor takes no responsibility for their vendor's actions. So even though HomeAdvisor didn't contact me, I was bombarded by individual vendors. That info should be VERY clear up front, rather than finding out by getting dozens of calls.

I have hired two companies through HomeAdvisor and have been very happy.

I have used HomeAdvisor three times so far. I have been happy with each recommendation, but I think there is the possibility of the results being somewhat skewed to the positive. I had some reservations about recommending the company that did my kitchen remodel, but knowing that the contractor would have access to my review, I did not write a HomeAdvisor review. How many others did the same? That means his overall rating is artificially high. Perhaps that's the nature of this system.

HomeAdvisor pretty much suck. I'm in general constructions and I've been a member with them even before they were HomeAdvisor. And then I tried them out another eight hundred bucks or a thousand bucks, but it didn't do any good. A lot of chasing. HomeAdvisor still charges me for the leads even people do not call me back. And a lot of times they'll send me a lead then I call the people and leave a message but they don't pick up. I try to contact HomeAdvisor about that lead and they say, "Oh, well, it's not our problem." It's a joke when HomeAdvisor is just doing leads and they don't even track the people that they're giving us the leads on. So, it's really not a very good deal. It is if I'm a house cleaner, but definitely not general contractor.

Price and speed of installation were extremely satisfactory.

People at HomeAdvisor were professional but their hands are tied because if we have an issue, they say that they can't do anything after 30 days. If you're a smaller business, you won't notice issues well after 30 days so you got no time to call and deal with it. Also, part of my problem is we get busy and leads show up. We want to turn them off but we're only allowed to do that for so long. HomeAdvisor should work on their app to turn leads off longer. The other thing is we get leads but they don't come through as fast as they say they do all the time. I've got it where it comes right to my phone and I can call a customer right away. By the time I'm calling them, they've already talked to somebody. I'm paying for a lead that I didn't have a chance at no matter what. Still, we get business from HomeAdvisor and we've been a member for about three years.

We found a great landscaper on HomeAdvisor that we would recommend to others. This is the second time we have used a vendor found through HomeAdvisor who has done a quality job. We will use it again in the future when the need arises!

I was on the HomeAdvisor website and I thought I would be able to choose which pest control company would give me a quote. I chose one in my area based on the online information and reviews, which were very good, and clicked "get a quote" in the box where their description was. HomeAdvisor somehow got my state wrong, and sent invitations to 3 companies out of my state about 1 hour from where I live, and did not include the company that I had chosen. I emailed HomeAdvisor about this and heard no response. In the end, one of the companies where they sent my information didn't mind driving 75 minutes to come take care of my problem and they did a great job. It did not go at all like I had planned though.

Initially, I was looking to replace a furnace that was not heating well anymore. Through HomeAdvisor, I received plenty of companies to choose from. I then decided on two for estimates, plus one outside of HomeAdvisor. I have to say that all candidates were good choices; all were honest, prompt, and were reasonably affordable. Because of the affordability, I chose to also have my two outside units replaced. I already had one furnace replaced a couple years ago, so it didn't need to be replaced.

My garage door opener would open but not close the door remotely, so I called a repair service to diagnose the problem. The motherboard on the opener had gone bad, possibly because of a lightning strike. The repairman gave a clear explanation of the problem and offered several options to solve it -- replace the motherboard, get an opener of the same brand to replace it, or get a different brand replacement opener. He also offered suggestions on how to prevent the problem from happening again. He did not pressure me on any of the options, was extremely flexible about scheduling the work to fit my schedule, and did a great job.

Excellent response, follow through, and provides a much-needed service for aging homeowners. One of the respondents was willing to work with me on tree removal price and give me a senior discount - a lifesaver for someone on a fixed income. I will definitely work with them again.

I have been a member of HomeAdvisor for 10 years. I'm in a locksmith and home inspection business and HomeAdvisor has affected our business pretty good. It's nice to pick up some extra work here and there, and it's reasonably priced. I like them more than Angie's List. I heard a lot of people don't care for Angie's List and they do like HomeAdvisor.

I am a Vendor that signed up for to advertise with HomeAdvisor, they charge you per lead that they send you. The sales rep wanted us to sign a 12 month contract but he said we could cancel in the first 30 days. We started receiving leads, we were not happy with the quality of the leads so we called to cancel. We got the run around in their voice mail department so we tried to cancel through email. They said "You can't cancel that way." We tried to cancel through chat message. They said "You can't cancel that way." Then finally we spoke to someone and they canceled our account.

My project was to replace and re-wrap the molding around my 2 garage doors. Willie was easy to get a hold of but he was very busy initially. Since I wasn't in a hurry, we were able to set a time to do the work. The garage work looks great and they did a phenomenal job and for well under what other quotes I received. I have used HomeAdvisor many times lately. All of the companies I have hired have been professional and have done an excellent job for a fair price. I have no doubt from this point forward about finding solid companies to work with.

I volunteer at my church, 3 urinals were not draining properly - I needed a plumber. I used HomeAdvisor.com based on a TV commercial; the response from HomeAdvisor was immediate and impressive - a list of about 7 plumbers - each one contacted me either via phone or email. I went with 1st responder because it was almost an immediate phone call and a polite/respectful voice.

The first company recommended returned my call within an hour of placing the request. The service was great. I feel the bill was high with regard to simply replacing a fan with lighting at 125.00. Others quoted about 15-20 dollars less. The light was 65 and most quotes were from 60-70. I would, however, call this electrician again as they were quick, prompt and pleasant. So far my experience with HomeAdvisor is based on a 5 star rating for the electrician, so I can only give HomeAdvisor 5 stars for recommending this company. Thank you! I have used Angie's List before only to be ignored by the companies I bought vouchers with, essentially losing that money. I hope my positive experience with HomeAdvisor continues.

My garage door was damaged and I tried contacting a vendor on my own. Finally I decided to contact HomeAdvisor for assistance to find a responsive company to repair the door. Within minutes I was provided with names of companies willing to do the look at the problem and provide an estimate for repairs. I selected a company based on the reviews by other customers and was not disappointed. This transaction is considered to be a pleasant experience for me.

I made money by doing kitchen cabinets but it was not enough. HomeAdvisor provided too many unqualified leads and I didn’t have the time to follow up on them and then realize that they were not, and then try to get the credit, so I left. It wasn’t the qualified leads that I need from people who want kitchen cabinets. The only negative I would say is that some people click to get a contractor and there’s no liaison that asks what they are looking for exactly, if they are looking to do a new kitchen or they just want to find out information about cabinets. In the home industry, many people call you up for you to bid on their kitchen and have no intention of buying one. However, it was easy signing up with them and as long as you have a credit card, you can get anything done over the phone. There’s nothing negative with their team members either and they were always there to assist me.

I've been with HomeAdvisor for a long time - shortly when they opened up their business, I opened up mine. I like them and get lots of good quality leads from them. Whenever customers ask me for a referral for another type of service, I always send them to HomeAdvisor. This way, I'm protected when I give out referrals. I've given referrals before for some other type of contractors and they are horrible in keeping appointments - either they're not gonna show up or show up late. If somebody does that to my customer I get aggravated. So HomeAdvisor is the perfect spot/site for me to send customers if they need other services. I also tell them what my experience has been with HomeAdvisor being on the other end of it, on the business side. They make sure I'm legitimate and check out my credentials. That makes me feel better if I was going to their site to get another service. I always recommend HomeAdvisor.

I had heard of HomeAdvisor, but had never paid attention enough to know what it was about. I contacted 2 other contractors for my repair work and couldn't get them to return phone calls. I then stumbled upon HomeAdvisor, entered the details of what I needed. The first contractor I contacted was very responsive and the job was completed at a very reasonable cost and looks great. This website is now in my favorites and will be the first place I go for any future home repair and improvement projects.

I had 8 holes in ceiling due to Heating/AC ducts to be replaced. I looked for someone that would be reasonable. Geo was reasonable and explained the work and what was involved.

I had a list of repairs to get my house ready to sell. The service provider was friendly and nice. He was also very helpful, competent, and efficient. He did my list then made a couple of suggestions I really appreciated and hadn't thought of.

I am please with the process but I was thinking that I would get more than one professional contact me concerning my project. It could just be that there weren't enough professionals in my area to assign. Website worked well and walked me through the process easily.

I'm with HomeAdvisor for around five years. I'm a handyman, and do a lot of stuff. I'm happy for the job that I'm getting but I'm not happy today for the lead placement. The leads are not even existing. People only want to know prices and information. That's very lousy. I’m good at what I do because customer satisfaction comes first before my money. If I didn’t do it good, I’m going to redo that all over again if I need to so that my customer is going to be happy.

Why pay monthly fees when you can find quality service providers on HomeAdvisor? I already used this site more than 3 times on different jobs. The quality/price/service are all excellent. Jobs: Install new A/C/HEATING unit, install new retaining wall (3 feet landscaping wall), install new water heaters.

I had to pay for expensive membership then they charge 14 to 28 dollars a lead. They gave me leads to customers whose number was disconnected, wrong numbers, and just bogus customers. Call the number yourself -- **.

Asked for repairman suggestion. Received 2 choices, received 2 messages within minutes. Contacted one, he was over within the hour. Ordered a part, fixed in 15 minutes. It was great.

I hired a landscaper off of Homeadvisors website. The job he did he did not do it correctly causing Dead Grass. I tried to speak to a Homeadvisor representative and got through one time after calling for weeks. They advised they were going to work on this and get back to me. They told me in the initial conversation that they would call the service provider. They never got back to me. In the meantime I was contacting the person that did the job and he kept making appointments and not showing up. I finally got a return call from a Homeadvisor supervisor and she told me to write a complaint.

Drywall job. Tried HomeAdvisor after we weren't having much luck with Yelp or on our own. Loved it! Would definitely use them again.

Yard Barber NEVER SHOWED UP!! He called, we made an appointment for an estimate, but he never showed up. After waiting 2 hours, we called, left a message. He never returned our call. Total waste of time. This was the second guy from HomeAdvisor that did this. We're done with HomeAdvisor.

Initially, the sign-up process was fine but now it's a little more costly. But anytime I called and had an issue, HomeAdvisor took care of it. We do carpet and furniture cleaning, staining, and pressure washing and HomeAdvisor have fairly affected our business when it comes to increasing our leads.

Stu ** was hired to do a roof coating on my flat roof, paint shutters, and caulk the facia board. Along with Duke, Stu did a very good job. They were fast and clean and finished the job in one day. You can't go wrong hiring these gentlemen.

Requested a quote on HomeAdvisor for a pool guy who could clean a pretty messy pool. Had a call from a pool service 10 minutes after making the request. Job finished 3 days later. Not bad. I'd use HomeAdvisor again to find a job professional if I needed additional work.

Our business offers roofing services, and we are HomeAdvisor members since 1998 or 2000. They have brought in a few more leads for our business. The phone calls and text messages they have put together definitely made a huge difference compared to what it used to be. Only thing is there should be better rules on getting the money back for some leads because I don't understand some of the requests, like if they're not the homeowner, and we can't do anything with it. HomeAdvisor says that’s one of those that falls to the cracks.

HomeAdvisor successfully helped me with my business. The only downfall is paying for every lead and it goes out to three other contractors, but you can't win them all.

HomeAdvisor set the appt. time even though they did not have access to the provider's calendar or schedule. I got two confirmations from HomeAdvisor for the appt. time and finally got a call from the provider about an hour before the appt., letting me know they had no time. To their credit, they moved around some things on their schedule to accommodate the error by HomeAdvisor. If they could not have done that, I would have reschedule my day to accommodate the appt. made by HomeAdvisor and not had an appt. HomeAdvisor - BAD, Hicks Plumbing - Good.

I am very satisfied with the service HomeAdvisor provided in helping me find a local contractor. I called the contractor in the morning and he returned my call within a few hours and completed the mowing project in the late afternoon - all the same day.

I have a plumbing service and we have used ServiceMagic in the past but we had to stop doing it. I believe that HomeAdvisor had to shut ServiceMagic down because they threw all the decent contractors and everyone has had enough. Then they opened under a new name - HomeAdvisor. However, I signed up with HomeAdvisor because this girl kept calling me, telling me that she would be in charge of my account. I thought that with the girl's persistence, maybe it will work out better. But as it turns out, she lied and she's not my account representative. Then after they got me to sign up, they decided that it wasn't good enough that I was recorded on there. They wanted my father to be on the recording, too.

HomeAdvisor provided 3 recommended Pros, two of which called me back immediately. The Pro I chose could come the same day. They arrived a little later than originally told but within 30 min of projected time frame. My unit is 4 or 5 years old and had not been serviced since installed. The original installation company was no longer in business, so I needed a new AC company. Zero Degree Refrigeration employees were courteous and knowledgeable. Determined there was a small leak somewhere and were willing to find it or use a leak sealer in system because of the very small size if the leak. I chose the sealer as the repairman seemed to think it would permanently fix the small leak. Repairs were completed in less than 90 min. I would recommend this company and will use them again when necessary or for maintenance.

The response from recommended services was almost immediate. The company chosen satisfactorily accomplished the work in good time for a fair price. HomeAdvisor made my search easy and successful.

Shortly after submitting the request for A/C maintenance I received several calls from local companies interested in doing the work. The job I had was cleaning the evaporator and condenser coils, and topping off the Freon-22 if needed. The first company (Penguin) told me that this would be done for the price of a service call of $89.00 plus the cost of the Freon if needed. When they arrived, the serviceman told me there would be an additional charge of at least $125.00 for cleaning the evaporator coils which have easy access in the basement.

I called to engage an A/C service company. The HomeAdvisor representative advised me that that company was no longer accepting new customers, and put me in touch with another. The second company called back immediately and came the same day to repair my A/C. I'm very happy.

This is actually the 3rd time that we have used HomeAdvisor (used it twice when it was Service Magic and had great results with those projects). Assuming that the reviewers are "real" people, it is a great way to find out more about each supplier or contractor to make a more informed decision. I do wish that HomeAdvisor would let reviewers post before & after photos of projects. Will certainly use HomeAdvisor for future projects.

HomeAdvisor was great when it was ServiceMagic. I spent a lot of money with them but I made a lot of money back 7 years ago. The economy was good. However, after a while, the fees were too steep for the jobs that they were offering and it seems they were sending too many people for the same job.
