Excellent interface... Found a painter through them who was excellent! He was professional, reasonable, prompt, personable, and did what he said he would do when he said he would do it. I will definitely use HomeAdvisor and the painter I found through them again.

My biggest complaint with trades people over the many years is their failure to commit to courteous and prompt communication. Especially after they are hired. As members of HomeAdvisor they are forced to be prompt and courteous or lose business. This is a major change in their MO. Thanks HomeAdvisor!!

I needed a dryer repaired. I entered my information and I got back a few names. I called the first one and booked an appointment. I was very impressed with him. He was prompt, courteous and did not overcharge me. I would use your service and his service again.

Excellent sump pump installation service, very quick and done on same day I called. Questions were answered and employees were most patient with my calls and inquiries. Cost was great at $460.00 (with a senior discount) and an easy pump to replace. (Per the employee who installed it.)

Found great contractor. This is the second time I have used HomeAdvisor. The stair railings job was a relatively small one but important to me, and needed to be done with skill to be done correctly. I am completely satisfied with the work done and would hire the recommended contractor again if a need arises.

The contractor was very responsive and we were pleased with the HomeAdvisor recommendation. The well repair could have been more extensive (and expensive) but the contractor repaired only what was needed. He worked quickly and made sure the repairs worked before he left.

Checked back on HomeAdvisor site before I made my final decision but did not request any more company referrals. However, received 3 more calls from 3 more companies. Subsequently notified HomeAdvisor that they should not have sent the last 3 recommendations. Hope they did not get charged!

I found the site very easy to navigate. Love being able to read customer reviews and see their overall rating. The information on the requested businesses came up very quickly. Like that you can review the information on the individual businesses. Also like the idea of the rewards program. Will definitely use this site for various other projects.

This replacement of old ceiling fixtures project ran quite well. The electrician called me, I told him what I needed, he quoted me a price and I set up an appointment. He arrived promptly on the day of our appointment, did the work, cleaned up after and left. He was very pleasant and professional.

I have used HomeAdvisor for several years now, and have been very happy with the referrals it provides. However, over the years, HomeAdvisor itself is interfering with the process. I would like to enter my project online and then get phone calls or emails from recommended professionals. Instead, I get multiple phone calls and emails from HomeAdvisor repeating what I already saw online or asking my opinion before the work has even started. You are trying too hard. It is annoying.

Good and timely manner. Excellent job! The labor price could be better. Warranty of the labor could be longer than 2 years, for example, like five years. It was good the contractor installed a water tray and a pipe which can lead the water flow to outside of the wall to prevent the water damage to the house wall and carpet next time.

Older homeowner who simply needed a new contact for 'around the house' plumbing fixes. (All my other tradesmen are truly "old" tradesmen and are either retired or "gone on to the great repair beyond"...) This format and the interface was simple and proved to be exactly what the situation required. I was contacted by several and hired from their choices with a great deal of satisfaction (and references for the future) in the end result. Interface good, service good, end result good.

Had problem with heat. Was checked out. Found what could have caused problem and explained. While he was here had air conditioner serviced. Found prices were very reasonable. To return to do electrical work -- to change out a kitchen light fixture.

I hired a company that had 1 lawsuit lost against them and another one filed. HomeAdvisor only cares about making a profit from the businesses they promote and not the individuals that hire the companies. They may check once at the beginning but never periodically check to continue the same service. Also, a company can say they are a member of whatever they feel like it, never checked. HomeAdvisor should be sued for their misrepresentation of businesses and their standards. They don't check on the businesses they promote.

Got in touch with an excellent company for tree trimming service. They provided an excellent service and were very professional. Costs were lower than expected. I would recommend HomeAdvisor and AW Tree and Landscaping Services to anyone and plan to use them again in the future.

Painted three rooms (interior painting), all turned out GREAT! Yellow to blue on walls, all trim and ceilings. We removed excess furniture and outlet covers and nails. Highly recommend, but not requested by painters, so they could do what they do best.

Very personable, had fun and educational, feel like I am getting a quality roof and siding installation. Sales person was very thorough when checking all the roof and siding and attic. We had another roofing company come out and they took measurements and left after about 10 minutes... not having them do it.

The owner and operator of the company that I hired for furnace service and water heater replacement arrived on time and was very nice and polite. There was much more work to be done we anticipated. It took much longer and was more expensive than I anticipated. I am not sure what the job should have cost so I am not sure if I overpaid or not.

I spoke to 3 contractors recommended by HomeAdvisor. 2 of them turned out to be frauds. They took my money and ran away. Not to be heard back again. The third one was insistent that I visit his showroom in a private setting somewhere 20 miles where I live. That sounded shady to me. This all happened on one project I was trying to do. Would not recommend HomeAdvisor to anyone.

I was very pleased with Don ** - Technician for American Electrician. He was professional and very careful in his evaluation of my problem and in repairing it. When I called because one of the smoke alarms was chirping he came that day and replaced it taking care of the issue.

Terrific workers and job very well done. Ceiling fixtures were installed easily. Smoke detectors were much more difficult than we thought they would be and problem-solving was in order: needed new wiring, needed to add a new detector that required making hole in ceiling, needed to update fuse box. The experience was excellent. The company arrived on time and explained everything in detail. Then the carpets were cleaned. He explained what was done and why certain things couldn't be removed which was understandable. Still an excellent job and very pleased!

Freeze after warm weather froze water in connected hose, causing a rupture in the bibb valve. Job required unseating existing copper fittings and replacing the 10# valve stem and bibb (hydrant). Steve was very familiar with the common problem and had it replaced in 40 minutes with a minimum of disruption.

This is a great service to use and it puts you in total control. You can get references of your own, use the references on site, whichever fits your comfort level. I liked the fact that you can review many people on the site for your special needs and read reviews from others!

Hook up new electrical panel box and hard wire a sump pump with a gfc outlet. LaMaster was the first to respond to my HomeAdvisor inquiry. He came out within a couple of days to look at the work needed. I was impressed with his knowledge and his quote seemed fair so I didn't seek a second estimate. Was totally pleased with the work and would most definitely recommend LaMaster for their electrical needs.

HomeAdvisor just gave me a list of a few AC companies. I just called the Silvaire company because they could come out on a Sunday afternoon and I appreciated them coming out on a Sunday at no charge and they were fair so I had them install a completely new system since it was half than cost to repair the old one.

A one-time deep clean. The entire house was cleaned, especially the kitchen (cabinets, fridge, stove, floor). Bathrooms shone, furniture was moved to mop the wood floor, ceiling fans dusted, and every floor vacuumed. The house smelled as clean as it looked!

DHR painting responded quickly and gave me a good price. Their crew also responded quickly. They prepped my deck and walls. Then they painted the deck and walls with 2 colors and painted the trim with a 3rd color. It looks great.
