I got a fast response from 2 repair people. I submitted the request Sunday night. Within 5 minutes I was called by one company and the next called Monday morning before 8. I was very satisfied with my service.

Recommended Insulation Provider. They immediately responded and I was able to hire a provider within a day.

I received an immediate list of 3 contractors for my job. One of these contractors contacted me within 5 minutes and we scheduled a time for the work to be done. Contractor showed up on time and performed the work to my satisfaction.

I got a response from what turned out to be a very good company within minutes of using the website. I have used HomeAdvisor in the past, and had equally good results.

Co. was on time, friendly, and worked the entire time. They left no mess behind and showed us the dust they removed!!! It took 4 hrs. to do a 2 story house and at the end they even were able to save me $50 off the bill.

Our company's business offers windows, siding and trim services. We've been a member of HomeAdvisor for 10 years or longer. I'm new with the company, but I'm familiar with how they ended up with HomeAdvisor. They called and spoke to somebody with the accounts at HomeAdvisor and signed up. Initially, it was for gutters and then just recently, we started doing siding, soffit and fascia, and trim.

The service allowed me to isolate vendors who had been vetted and allowed me to make a confident decision on the best contractor for the job.

We had an electrical problem with outdoor lighting that caused a circuit breaker to shut down. In addition to the outdoor lighting problem, our furnace was on the same circuit so we needed this corrected. Tony called immediately to make an appointment for later in the day and arrived promptly. He traced the problem & had us back to normal in 2 hours. We were very pleased.

I have used a source from HomeAdvisor twice with great results. I have another repair this month that I'm also using a company from HomeAdvisor. I look at all the reviews on the companies and they are extremely helpful. HomeAdvisor is the first and only place I go to find services for our home.

My business is a full plant service company and I have been with HomeAdvisor for several years now. So far, I can't say too many pleasant things about HomeAdvisor because I'm continuously calling about mistakes they’ve made. But I had Heidi the other day and she took care of me beautifully. Their process needs to be refined as far as sending new leads and following through those leads, because they give me leads with work that I do not even do. There are so many other places where I can get leads from so they need to refine it, because I end up paying for someone to call and ask me how to get red stains out of their carpet. I have to pay for that lead even though the question is for carpet cleaners.

HomeAdvisor has come through for me several times in the six weeks I have held my new job as a Regional Facilities Manager for Smokey Bones. Our locations are usually far apart and it is difficult to find quality contractors on my own. The reviews are good, the process is simple. The response from the contractors is quick, the prices are fair, and the work is top notch.

Toilet leak and wobbled. Plumber repaired broken main 4-inch pipe and wobble. Excellent service and the price was very fair considering the amount of work and parts involved. Will recommend these folks to anyone. Best company I have ever hired.

You failed to explain to me clearly how your business works and put me in a bad position as a result. When you ask me on the phone (and I am surprised - in the first place I am not actually talking to the company I thought I was calling, because I am unfamiliar with your practice) do I ever need gutters cleaned and roof done or is there any other project I am considering and you DON'T TELL ME that by giving me a company name I am going to be immediately contacted with an expectation to give me an estimate for work done.

My business offers home inspections and radon testing, and I’ve been with HomeAdvisor for quite a while. Actually, I was grandfathered in when they took over ServiceMagic. HomeAdvisor's okay to deal with, and when some things didn’t seem quite right recently, they made it right with me - they took off the charges. I also find their website misleading. When somebody, who might just be looking to see how many home inspectors are there in this area and don't actually have a home to inspect, enters the info and goes to the next page, HomeAdvisor's website sends out stuff to me before the person even requests a quote. And when they send stuff to me, they charge me for that contact. In fact, this year, I’ve gotten more nowhere leads than actual work. I’m not necessarily angry with them, but their system should be updated.

Used HomeAdvisor for 2 jobs: ceiling renovation and plumbing repair. The first was excellent, the second a dismal failure. In any event HomeAdviser is a great way to find a company that wants to have your business. I selected another HomeAdvisor company to do the plumbing job, and their work was excellent.

I love this service. I request workman and women for various projects and I get estimates quickly and easily.

Appliance repair - I was hooked up with this company through HomeAdvisor. They called me while I was still on the website and set up an appt. for the following day. The appt. window was 12-2 and I hadn't heard from anyone by 2:30. Once I called the office, the tech showed up within 30 minutes and fixed the problem in less than 15 minutes. The price was very reasonable.

We chose The Groutsmith to repair the grout in our walk-in shower. The company and their representatives were thoroughly professional and carried out the work as scheduled and to our total satisfaction. The technician was both efficient and courteous. We would highly recommend The Groutsmith to anyone.

For many years we paid for their services, they offered a review system. It was frustrating and in fact if you want to rebut any reviews they force you to deal with the client. Regardless that we were able to provide factual information rebutting the review. We then stopped the service. A few months ago they hounded us to rejoin. We do so based on their promise they would review our issues and a 280 entrance fee. We did that and they did not even respond to our information negatively or otherwise. Then we found monthly charges that they could not support nor mentioned on their website or in our dealings. It was not until we threatened legal action did they cancel the service.

I was very pleased to hire from this website a competent, honest, hardworking, fair company. The job of curbing was done promptly, efficiently and looks great. Would recommend this site to others to find a company to do work for them.

I offer Carpet upholstery and tile cleaning with HomeAdvisor. I've been on and off with them for years even before they were called HomeAdvisor. For most part, being with them seems all right. Their representatives are always friendly and courteous and it's working well at the moment. Now that I've gotten better reviews, people are most likely to use me over some competitors.

We prefer HomeAdvisor to other sources after trying several. HomeAdvisor was excellent, accurate and easy to use.

After learning that the company I had previously used for this service was no longer providing the service, I inquired for providers in my area. I got the names of 2 companies. One called back immediately and sent someone out the same day to look at the job. They charged $100 just to come out. I had to call the 2nd company myself, but hired that company because their quote was 1/3 the price of the other company.

I'd recommend HomeAdvisor. I've been a home service professional of theirs for years. We are an insulation company - anything to do with making a house more energy-efficient. Signing up with them was fine. That's a long time ago when I first did it, I was the only insulation contractor, so it was a win-win for me once I did do it. I wasn’t competing against other people, or however many that they send leads out to. It helped me with getting a bunch of good reviews, starting off. Every once in a while I get a customer that I can't make contact with that I have to pay for but all in all, it's been pretty good.

I had problems with the first company I hired to install security cameras, which said it would only refund / remove equipment if I halted any negative reviews, withdrew the BBB complaint, and signed a liability waiver. HA first told me that the review I had in progress could not be stopped from being published, but could be added to later. So that's what I did. Some time afterward, I received a call from HA who then told me that I had been incorrectly advised and that the review could have been stopped before publication; at this point the review was taken down, but by now the situation with the company had gotten worse. I don't think it was right for the company to place such demands. However, pulling the HA review was the first thing that I was prepared to compromise on. I since hired a second company to do the job, and they did it well. Nonetheless, I won't be using HA to look for people to hire anymore.

I got a long list of plumbers with reviews that I was able to read through. Within 30 minutes I had at least 5 calls and hired someone within an hour.

I am a home inspector trying to get my business going in Florida. HomeAdvisor called me and convinced me to partner with them, promising me as many leads as I could handle. It cost me nearly $300 for a yearly membership and I ended up paying about $75 for leads, which I have absolutely nothing to show for. Of the 13 leads I received from HomeAdvisor, I was not able to communicate with seven of them because they did not respond to my attempts to contact them (phone and email).

HomeAdvisor has been the best resource for acquiring professional and qualified help. I've used them more than once and each time, their professionals respond quickly, come and do their work professionally, and with outstanding quality. Each time the price quoted estimate has been at or lower than other professionals offering the same service. I will use them over and over again.

Foundation repairs--House is level.

I hired painters for interior house painting. They had good reviews. It was a 3-day project. Each day they were 2-3 hours late. They were sloppy and I had to point out all the flaws to have them take care of them. They didn't have the right equipment; the owner had to go out and buy extensions for paint roller, etc. They left a mess in my sink after rinsing their brushes and rollers and paint splatter all over the place. They were not prepared to give me receipt when I paid and owner promised to bring it to me the next day. He never came to provide receipt. Also, the owner was constantly on the phone with other projects and personal phone calls.

HomeAdvisor was a great place to start, and glad we did. Within hours someone had contacted us. We had appointments and the job was done within days! The company they recommended was 5 star all the way! Will use this site for all our project needs!

HomeAdvisor has been good for the most part. However, I've had some leads where people wouldn't return the calls, so they are leads that I paid for but am unable to contact.

I was pleased to find HomeAdvisor. Customer service at HomeAdvisor in Miami, FL was very polite and helpful to give me suggested companies to hire and would even set up an appointment for a free estimate on my behalf or I could call the company directly. It was one quick call rather than fishing through the internet for service companies.

HomeAdvisor always helps me when I need to do some projects in my house so they provides me with good pros very quickly, showing me the rates for every pro they recommend, so I know whom I will deal with and so far so good. I am happy with them, and I trust them.

My husband chose a contracting firm through HomeAdvisor.com. The group came highly recommended via reviews. I can tell you that my poor review was never posted and the work that was supposed to be done by "professional painters" was done not only unprofessionally but very below acceptable (i.e. Painting around face-plates and not painting certain areas). To give some view to this... It took another one of their workers 22 hours to partially fix the mess the first worker made and some of it will never be made right -- brush strokes where there were none before, etc.

One vendor took out 3 trees, another instance we had plumbing done.

Groutsmith was called in to re-grout and clean the master bedroom shower. Cracks had formed along the bottom and sides and water was leaking into closet. They used a grout that was 30% silicone to help maintain the integrity of the grout when the shower walls flex.

I signed up with HomeAdvisor for leads in industry - air conditioning. Had some leads coming in. After about a week I called them and emailed them to turn off my leads because the leads they were sending were not good leads. They said that they would but my phone keep ringing from them. I did not answer but the dollar meter kept running. They failed to tell you whether or not you answer your phone you will still be charged.

Was able to make a selection based on customer reviews and rating. Very helpful.

Having used both Angie's List and HomeAdvisor, I feel HomeAdvisor is the better service. At Angie's List, I would have had to pay for an additional subscription due to the company having a different area code, even though it's only 5 miles from my home. Also, I feel that HomeAdvisor has a much better selection of companies with reviews and ratings to choose from.

I have been using HomeAdvisor to generate leads for my cleaning service company. They charge $120.00 quarterly fee to be a member and obtain leads. This is an advance payment for the next 90 days. They charged us last night this fee. When I woke up in the morning to cancel the service and the advanced payment they informed me that I could not receive a refund of $120.00 even though it is an advanced payment. The charge was only a few hours old and HomeAdvisor is unwilling to refund any money. Imagine if other business like car insurance would not refund the money that you prepay to them every month. Besides the terrible leads they send companies like mine, they are also greedy and prefer to rip clients off than do the right thing.

We're electricians and we offer a wide range from installing lights, fixtures and outlets to complete home rewires starting from the construction from the ground up as far as the electrical goes. We've had to call HomeAdvisor a few times here or there for assistance. We have a representative who knows our company a little bit and she is always extremely friendly anytime we have any questions, need to submit any credit requests or need to change any kind of service coverage. Willing to help and gets back to us in a timely fashion if she's not available immediately. So it's always been a really positive experience with her.

Our project was to replace a pocket door that was often jamming and not working well in other ways by a conventional door. This was important because the door was the only exit from an interior bathroom. The work was done in an exemplary manner and completed in a very reasonable amount of time at a fair price.

We used HomeAdvisor to get and hire a fireplace contractor. The reviews on HomeAdvisor for this contractor were good. Using these good reviews we hired this contractor. This contractor used a bait and switch tactic to extort an additional four thousand dollars over contract price. HomeAdvisor asked for a review of this contractor. We gave an honest and accurate review. We followed all of HomeAdvisor's rules in this review. HomeAdvisor rejected our review. Apparently negative reviews are not used. This makes their review process completely bogus.

I reviewed Complete Cleaning Maid Service for the Dayton, Ohio area negatively. They did not do the job they were paid to do. When I posted the review, the company disputed it. It was immediately taken off of the website "until the company can prove it wrong." Apparently they have a time period in which they can submit their documentation. I have pictures of the job that was performed. I have proof of the job negligence I posted in my review. My complaint is that they removed my review immediately and it is still removed from the website 3 months later. This is in favor of companies not the consumer as advertised.

I used HomeAdvisor to recommend a good plumber in my area. After reading the reviews, I choose from their recommendations and was extremely satisfied. I would definitely use again as well as recommend to a friend.

We've been with HomeAdvisor for a long time. For the most part, they have been very good and we're happy. It's really good for us. But lately we were busy with a lot of projects. At the beginning, most of the leads were almost accurate and when we called customers, most of them are willing to do the job. We have a lot of five stars and we're really good, but I know HomeAdvisor has no control and some people are just checking prices nowadays.

HomeAdvisor gave a useful list of possible builders to do the job and I was quickly able to find a suitable match - someone who worked out very well!

We are very happy with the quality of work provided by Hal at Budget Home Repair. Other contractors either quoted a ridiculous amount, visited but never quoted, or quoted without bothering to visit. All we wanted was quality work by someone who does what they say they will do, and Hal delivered...

What I like about HomeAdvisor is that I am matched to Pros. I probably would never even find or consider if I searched on my own. I prefer to support small businesses that are local to my area and so far every Pro I have hired has lived up to the ratings I found on HomeAdvisor. The only thing I totally dislike about HomeAdvisor is the automated phone call feature that I have no control over. Even when I click 'No, just give me the list of Pros', which I thought meant I am declining the auto-phone calls, I still get calls.

I like that I have several companies/people to choose from but didn't like that I had three different people calling me at the same time. I would prefer to pick one or call as many as I want myself when I'm ready.

Been a HomeAdvisor member for eight years now. Generally, their reps have all been helpful if I had any questions. Didn't have any thoughts that I might not be pleased. They'll call me, see how I'm feeling as far as their service goes. It's all been productive. It's also been helping my business. I've got to "sell" my business, of course, but HomeAdvisor definitely helped it and we've gotten some nice jobs from them.
