I never joined Angie's List because I could not understand paying over a hundred dollars for simple references. HomeAdvisor was fast, simple, and cost effective.

I was very pleased and impressed with TJR! They did what they were hired to do and performed in a timely manner. I will hire them again when I need their services.

One contractor told us he was coming 2 different dates - no show. Another contractor said if real good job we would have to pay more after we told him the only bid we had at that point.

I was looking to have some trees removed and was not having any luck on my own just calling around. I found HomeAdvisor online and within a few moments had received an email back with the name of a company who could do the work in our area. I appreciate the care taken with getting me the right person for the job and the recommendation was well documented with reviews. I have used HomeAdvisor 2 times. I have been impressed each time how quickly I get responses. It makes it so much easier when you can just go to 1 site and find all the need professionals.

I needed to locate an indoor air quality tester for particulates (silica dust) after renovation. Contractor made a mess with dry cutting granite indoors. I listed my needs/parameters with the HomeAdvisor tool and was shown a few area companies that could be useful. I called the first 2 and the second "lead" provided what was needed, at a reasonable price, were able to provide service and test results all within 72 hours. I had a couple of contacts from companies that were "air quality," but specialized in mold or asbestos -- which were not what I was looking for, but I responded to them that I had 1 a different requirement, and already hired someone, and they were professional and courteous in turn.

Workers did a fine job. Kept work area clean each day. No nails or debris left on the ground. Roof looks fantastic.

The company you recommended did a great job and was done in two days. This site recommended two companies and they both called me in the next two days after submitting request.

I was looking for a service for my home and stumbled upon HomeAdvisor. Within minutes I had 3 people contact me to offer estimates for the job. The one I chose worked out great.

I was sent information in a timely manner and there was follow up to make sure I was happy with the recommended company.

You provided me with 3 candidate responders who might have fixed the leak. M&M Plumbing, citing owner Monroe Meeks in particular, responded to my home emergency leak problem in timely and helpful manner, proficiently fixing the leak at reasonable cost. I paid him more than his asking price as warranted by the service he rendered.

We needed a roof repair in an emergency and a professional contractor was easy to find through HomeAdvisor.

One service was not as forthcoming with questions re cost etc. Second service very open with regard to questions. Chose them and everything appears to be fine. Still must do a little due diligence. Company I did not choose was very interested in reasons why. A good sign that they may be sensitive to reviews.

I was searching for appliance repair and found HomeAdvisor and their recommendation for APEX appliances repair was excellent. I recommend to go to HomeAdvisor for any service needed and absolute hire Song for any appliances repair.

On a separate topic, not the last electrical one but a different project altogether, not so good an experience. I called three different asphalt companies and it is now day 7 and not one returned my call. If they are not interested in giving a bid, they should just say so on the front end. Over a week has been wasted trying to get help that's not coming.

My overall experience with HomeAdvisor was good. Of the company reps that I met and received estimates from, I was thoroughly satisfied with my final choice. On the "Con" side - I was not expecting the 4th Tree Company who showed up unannounced. Also, the review section of the website did not function properly the first few times I attempted to submit a review. Not sure if it was down for repair or update at that time but it was a frustrating experience. So, again, overall fine experience with a couple of minor issues.

We were contacted within a few hours of when we made our request. The repairman came to our home, was pleasant & personable, made the repair required & told us to let him know if we had any problems & he'd come back at no additional cost.

I was looking for a reliable mechanic to fix my central AC when the temps were in 90s. I got the calls within 1-2 minutes after I listed my issue at HomeAdvisor. They are pretty fast and they also follow up with me though I couldn't get them my response soon as was away.

I have used HomeAdvisor on a few occasions and have been very pleased.

The experience was good -- the contractor came right out and in a matter of hours the repair was made.

Lied to about the fees and process when signed up over the phone. Told they would send leads out to multiple companies and the one who gets the work would be charged a fee. The fact is that they charge every company they send the lead to for each lead and they don't filter the leads in any way. They also automatically deduct these fees out of your account without getting written approval. All leads we received were 100% bogus. When we called to follow up, the leads told us that they weren't in the market on every occasion. I believe they pay people to make up fake leads.

HomeAdvisor help me find a great stucco guy and save me time and money. They sent different pros to give me a estimate on my home. The website was easy to find what I was looking for. The guy that I use to put the stucco on my home was a pro and did a great job.

The job done by Tool Time was fairly priced and done to my satisfaction. Very professional team!

While HomeAdvisor associate do put you in touch with contractors in the area, not all contractors reach out and are available. So patience is the key. But this is an excellent resource to find the right contractor for a project. A lot of research is to be done by the homeowner still.

We found a recommended plumbing company on HomeAdvisor and had them come out to look at a gas line that wasn't working on an outdoor fire bowl. The technician arrived to our home on July 17, 2015 and looked at an outdoor fire bowl that the gas line had stopped working. He told me he needed to "take apart" the fire bowl to get a part number for the repair and it would take "a while" to do so. The service call would cost $62.50 and he needed another $62.50 that would be credited towards the actual repair, I was informed. Since I got their name from HomeAdvisor, I was confident in the company's trustworthiness and agreed to write him a $125 check. The disassembly of the fire bowl I was told would take "a while," actually took 5 minutes and he was done. He took the check, left me with no paperwork and said he would call Monday with the cost of the repair.

The locksmith was good and no problem.

I have used HomeAdvisor for a lot of projects and I find I have the best experience when choosing my contractor from HomeAdvisor. Recommendations from friends don't usually work as well as HomeAdvisor. There's another list out there that does not work for me at all and I had to pay for it. Love the algorithms working on this website. Makes me a happy customer every time.

I had a horrible experience with an electrician (Mark H Anderson Electrical Services) and I wanted to leave a review to warn others about this unscrupulous electrician who abandoned my electrical job. (He also had several similar reviews on Angie's list.) I uploaded my review at least 10 times, and after a month, the review is still not visible. HomeAdvisor claims I would be contacted via phone or email and that it would take 10 days to "review" the review. I have not been contacted by anybody, nor is my review posted online. It appears that HomeAdvisor is just as incompetent as Mark H Anderson Electrical Services.

I interviewed 4 companies and decided on Energetic Tech. They proposed the same approach as an engineering and construction company's Plan B for 1/3 the cost. They came when they said that they would and executed the project in a workman-like and efficient manner.

I had a great experience, so I might check HomeAdvisor again. I generally ask friends and neighbors to make recommendations, but decided to try this approach. I received 3 contractors to contact for my heat pump replacement/repair. I already had one quote from Sears so I only used two of the recommended contractors. I almost went with Sears before getting the other quotes but they were very expensive. I saved about $4,000 not going with Sears and I got a better unit and warranty. I had assumed the Lennox heat pump would be more than Sears because they are a very good product. Thank you HomeAdvisor for your recommendations.

What can I say? I came. I saw. HomeAdvisor conquered for me. Professionals I was able to contact were exactly that, professional. Independent contact allows the user to screen for integrity, savvy and cost. I will use HA in the future for all of my projects. I tried Redbeacon and their Professionals just didn't match up. No brainer. HA beat RB hands down in all aspects.

I have been looking for a company to repair my flooring tile, but I have been unable to find anyone through HomeAdvisor that primarily repairs tile.

Very expensive, $80 for one lead. Most of them did not answering your call or email. Home adviser did not care just charging you anyway. I spent thousands dollars and get only 3 leads. It's not worth it. I switching to Thumbtack. They returning money in no time if customer did not answer your offer in 48 hours.

I had in my estimates two small electrical issues. One was a light panel issue in my bathroom. The other was exterior coach light that was not working properly. I had investigated both issues as far as I could with my experience. I decided to use HomeAdvisor as I wanted to try it out. I found the process to be extremely valuable as they follow the three estimate rule of helping the home owner collect three estimates and then decide. You have access to the reviews for each contractor and the added plus is that they contact you very promptly. Excellent service and I would use again and much better than using Angie's List in my estimation!

I utilized HomeAdvisor to find a contractor to do a porch extension project on my home. I thought that their background check and approval of a contractor would mean they had verified the reputation and quality of the contractor - that is not the case. The contractor they sent to me has been the absolute worst contractor I have ever tried to work with - long story short, they didn't finish the job, owe me money, what they did must be redone as it was subpar.
