    Empire had the best value and the most options and the quickest turnaround. We got hardwood installed in our home in the kitchen and a bathroom, laundry room area, and in our other two bathrooms upstairs as well. We've got two dogs. We definitely wanted the flooring to be durable, and to stand up to them. I've also got a two-year-old. So to try and be just resistant to as much, our sales guy pulled out the sample and ran his knife across it and it didn't scratch at all. That was our final decision as, "Our old floor is super scratched up with just the dogs and our son." The durability was really important to us.

    The crew came out to install it. We had our Empire consultants call and make sure everything was good a couple of times throughout the day. They came through to install, inspected all of the rooms, and we found out that they had to get a couple of things from Home Depot, like the subfloor under the carpet and remove that. They started upstairs and worked their way down. They were here and went through and finished the whole thing with the separators on as well. For the most part, the quality was good. Some of the transition pieces have slipped off. So we will have to get them redone. But they did a really good job.

    They definitely helped walk me through the process, checked in on the installation throughout the day and made sure it looked good, followed up to share how to care for our floors and what that looks like if things happen to the floors. It was an easy process, and they helped us pick a couple of different options for our lifestyle. We feel like we picked the best one. We love the color in here.

    The sales rep with Empire Today showed us the samples and we picked one out. It was overwhelming but she made it easy. She was lovely and gracious. I like her. Then the installers came, moved all the furniture, and installed the flooring. They were professional. They came between 8:00 and 9:00 and didn't leave until 2:30 because they did do a lot.

    I am not complaining about it to the company because it was my choice but I don't like the carpet. It's cheap. They gave me a huge price, to start with, and almost cut it in half after I said I was not paying the big price. Also, there are areas of the install against the wall that have spaces. I have this parquet floor in a small area and now the wood is raised up because the padding and the carpet are so thin. It's so much thinner than what I thought would be but the rep said I was getting the top-of-the-line padding. What got me was she said, "We just installed this carpeting into a 10,000 square foot home." I'm disappointed in all of that.

    Installation was punctual, issue is one week after warranty expires the caulk starts failing and the molding is all coming off. They were no help and basically said they would fix it but tough no more warranty. Crappy product doesn't make it a year without failing.

    Stay clear. Was given a 2 hour window for them to just come estimate (keep in mind we have 3 under 3 and accommodated this time frame). Never received a courtesy call for running late until 30 min AFTER the appointment. If this is the service you get just for an estimate, I can only imagine day of install.

    I had laminate flooring put in in my front room and my hallway. I contemplated about doing it myself, but thought it was a bit big of a project for me. I chose Empire, and they did a great job. At about 9 in the morning, the installers arrived and started moving the furniture and pulling up the carpet. They were very conscientious about working in our house 'cause we were there at the time, and walked through all the details with us. If there were any problems that came up, they brought it to our attention. If there were any decisions to be made one way or another, they let us make those, and the recommendations of what to do before they commenced further. They were very thorough and very professional.

    There were three people, and installation was a two-day process. There were pieces of trim that I had to re-glue, but it was a tough section. It was a small piece and it was easy to just put some glue on it. I called up the installer and told him about it and he offered to come out and fix it, and I said, "Just tell me how I could do it." He told me the type of glue to use and I pulled it up, put a couple of dabs of glue in it, clamped it and it's perfect. Other than that, everything that they did was top-notch.

    When I found out Empire was in our area, I called them right away because I know of them. The sales visit was excellent and the rep was like an expert. I had carpeting installed in the master bedroom and office and only one installer came out. I originally was not happy with that because I thought that one person shouldn't do the job. It sounded like there were a few phone calls and the other one thought he was coming but couldn't make it. But the installer did an excellent job and it was obvious he knew what he was doing. He did it quite quick and cleaned up. I was pretty impressed. Also, the communication was really good -- as far as them calling us and keeping in touch and everything. I even got some texts somewhere along the way.

    I bought carpet and laminate flooring from Empire Today, and the rep who assisted me was very knowledgeable. They had to have two different crews for the installation, so the laminate flooring was installed within 24 hours of my purchase and the carpet was done within 48 hours. For both crews, six reps showed up and moved the furniture, then they did all the work and put all the furniture back. They started around 8:30 in the morning and they were done by at least 3:30 in the afternoon. One crew did three rooms with carpet, and other crew did two large rooms with laminate flooring. Their workmanship is very professional and the products are excellent quality. I was very impressed. Also, I had one flaw in a piece of threshold but they immediately came out the next day, then they evaluated and fixed it.

    We had oak flooring installed in our hallway, and it took six to seven hours. First, Empire Today came out and talked to us. It sounded really good to me and the rep was knowledgeable. For the installation, they looked through all the place and measured it out. They pulled the carpet out of the hallway, took it out and put the oak flooring down. They cleaned it up, and everything turned out great. If someone's looking for flooring, I recommend Empire Today. They were very good, neat and quick. My wife and I were very pleased.

    We called Empire Today and they came out. The price seemed reasonable, and we didn't wanna spend the time to shop around, so we just went with them. The rep was awesome. He was very professional, explained all the different carpets, answered all our questions, and even gave us a little extra discount. We had a good experience. We have a dog, and there's that stain-resistant, pet-resistant thing that they have. I like that, and installation was simple. We moved some of the stuff, and the installers moved all the heavy stuff. They installed the carpet, and it took them all day ‘cause there were three big bedrooms.     The installers which came over to install my thing my flooring were a family, home of workers, nephews, cousins. During the installation process, they stack the flooring on top of the metal hand bars on each side of the front porch steps, and by stacking those heavy things there they made them become loose and of course, over the last two years they become looser. As you can see about some of the pictures that I took and sent to you, they ran an electric saw between the gap between the wall and sheetrock and the floor to allow room for something but the floor is a laminate which is only like a8 of an eighth quarter and it’s thick so I don’t think they need to do that, but they did it anyway.

    So I sent you pictures of where the molding around the bottom of the floor has cracked in several places all the way around the room. It’s also led to cracks in the corners, which are pictures of that as well and they left a piece off at the bathroom door is a little square. They didn’t put anything in it. Don’t think very professional. I did read in several websites and several how to do something videos that you can use a saw to create some room between the two if you need it to put the floor down, but they took down the floor that was already on there so the gap should’ve already been created so the saw was totally unnecessary, but I really don’t think they were the best professionals to work on an old house like mine. I just want to let you know what I experience and I’m definitely not very happy with it but I’ll live with it.

    Imagine laying out $11,000 plus to replace your floors and then after they rip out your floors, you are told that your floors need a lot more work than expected. They stated our floors needed to be leveled and this would take an extra day of work and more materials. We were told they needed 4 days to complete the floors instead of 3 and they had to get 14 more bags of cement, bringing the total to 25 bags of cement for my home. We are told this is going to cost more and we had to wait for a call from Empire.

    The men stopped working as we waited for the call. They finally called us and told us that we had to pay an additional $3800 to complete the job. My husband and I couldn't believe it. We didn't have an extra $3800, we are standing on floors that were ripped up already and the men stopped working and couldn't continue until we paid. After panicking and trying to figure out how to make this payment, we did negotiate on another amount but still had to figure out how to pay the additional costs. This is criminal.

    The sales rep never mentioned that additional costs might be involved!! As a matter of fact the sales rep failed to mention several important bits of Information. That's a whole different negative review. So after we paid, as it turned out, they did not need or use 25 bags of cement and the extra day of labor that we were told would be needed to make sure our floors were prepped correctly, never happened. The floors were completed in 3 days as agreed originally. So what extra labor did we pay for???

    Last but certainly not least, the amount of cleanup we had to do after this installation was insane. Every ounce of my house is filled with dust including every piece of furniture and every item in our house. We have been cleaning for 3 days. My couch was filled with dust from the grinding of the floors. If they couldn't cover the couch or any pieces of furniture, they could have at the very least given us the option to cover them up ourselves. We could not believe the condition our house was left in. I have more issues that we dealt with but I just can't write them all. Please please read the reviews. I wish I did because it's pretty apparent that their business practices are shady, to say the least.

    Do not use Empire. They tell you a price. I asked this is the final price and no hidden charges. They stated yes. Then after they tore up my floor they then charged me more. They stated, "You signed and you did not have hidden costs." They intimidate senior citizens. I sent many emails even to the CEO who gave it to the Director. I asked to speak with him but I am beneath him. Then I got scolded by the Service Manager because I reached out to too many people. They refuse to make it right and refund the hidden charge. They are unethical and I should have read the real reviews before purchasing. I was even told by the SM I can not control what others say. I would not have had an issue if they were upfront with me. Worst Customer Service I have ever encountered.

    Empire Today did two bathroom floors for me a couple of years ago and did the kitchen, dining room floors and everything for me, and we were done. The bathrooms were tongue and groove, and the vinyl in the dining room, kitchen, and laundry room. They cleaned right up with no problem. We did it in brown, so it turned out nice.     I have been trying to reach Empire Today for weeks, I can't get anyone to return my calls. The installation of my flooring was very poor quality or it could be the quality of the product. After about a year, I have buckles and gaps in the flooring.

    I've always used Empire Today and automatically called them when I had carpet installed in a three-bedroom and a living room-dining area. The two people that were here for the installation were good. There was a spot in the living room that was wet ‘cause the people in the house prior to me had cats. One of the installers asked for some bleach and cleaned it up. However, they didn't put the carpet in the closet like they were supposed to. It dawned on me that all that carpet that was left was supposed to have been in the closet. But it's no big deal. I love the carpet in the living room. I should have gotten it in the back as well, but I was trying to do something different. I purchased the little checkerboard-looking carpet, but I don't like it. Also, it’s only been six months but it looks like it's wearing already where I sit and work at at my desk.

    I had my house done with vinyl and carpet. The trim around the vinyl was not done properly. I called but nobody ever came to look at it. I also put in some carpet and tile. They put linoleum in bathroom instead of tile. The carpet is done right but they didn’t fix the problem in bathroom after they went and looked at it. Salesman didn’t break down what I was paying for each stuff. Just charged the full price. Not to happy with the company.

    I had carpet installed by Empire Today. It took the installers seven hours. They did pretty well and they were clean. However, there were some things that were wrong and I had called and they did not fix the problem. On the closet doors, there are sliders. They took those off and they were sitting on the floor. They never put them back on. They were also a little overpriced, but I was in a hurry to sell my house. So, I had to get that done.

    When we went with Empire Today the first time, they did an excellent job on the carpet. We got hardwood floors this time, and they've done another excellent job. But I didn't like the salesman because he kept dodging questions. We kept asking him about how much it was by the foot, but he kept on trying to sell us some other stuff other than what we were wanting. He was telling us, "This is the best one, and it's cheaper than those over there.” But he would never say how much it was a foot. That was shady to me. If we're asking a question, they should answer us. It's still up to us to say which ones we like and which ones we don't. He sold us a good floor, but we still don't know to this very day what it was a foot, so I don't know if we got a deal or not. But I've got friends who's got floors like this, and theirs is scarred up and messed up already, but ours isn't. We got the scratch-proof ones. The quality is excellent. Nothing is popping up or loose.

    I needed to get flooring the next week, and the other vendors couldn't. I had to wait a month. Empire Today was available but I was not thrilled with my experience. The product is subpar. I don't like the flooring at all. It's a lot thinner than the other brands. The thickest that they had available for me is still super thin. I also didn't care for the people who had installed it. They used my bathroom without asking. They were smokers, and you could smell it all over them. They did a good job cleaning up after themselves but I had to tell them to fix some of the squeaky floors. I shouldn't have to tell them how to do their job. Any kind of person who's doing any kind of flooring should take pride in their work and make sure that everything's screwed down so there's no squeaking.

    My experience with Empire started out great. The guy came quickly to place an order. They came quickly to put it in. They did a great job putting it in, but they sent the wrong quarter around to go with it. They put it in in January. By the middle of January, I was trying to get ahold of them to come figure out the right quarter around, and it took forever to get ahold of them. Once I did, we had it scheduled for someone to come. I had scheduled four times for someone to come. First time was a no call, no show. The second time, I got a call at 4 o'clock in the afternoon saying, "Oh, we got put on another job. We can't be there today." The third time, they sent him with the wrong quarter round. And then the fourth time, somehow the work order didn't go through right, so they weren't coming.

    I was just done with it by that point. I try to get them just to show me the quarter around, apparently, the company can't ship product. It seems weird to me. They had a guy bring it up and it was the right one. So, I was finding my own guy to put it in. They did give me $100 credit, which I thought was a small amount. The installation was great. The guys were great. They took care of things. They brought it to my attention right away that it wasn't the right quarter round when they were installing it. So, I'm very happy with that part. The follow up part trying to fix something is the part where we had the problem.

    We got carpet and linoleum from Empire Today for the dining room and the living room. The sales rep was very informative. He took his time and we didn't feel rushed. He did pretty well. The flooring looks beautiful. We had it put in a rental home and the people are very happy with it. But the first time when we had the Empire come to our house to have tile floor put down in our kitchen, I wasn't happy at all. I had to stay away from them because they just smelled so bad. Then when they started to put the tile down, I've been around it enough to know they should have started at the wall and worked inward. They started in the center and by the time they got to the fireplace, it was so messed up and there were gaps.

    I called Empire and I told them to not send those two guys back because they didn't even finish. The next crew that Empire sent to us took up what they messed up. They fixed everything. They were fantastic. Those guys couldn't do enough to make things right. So we used them again for our rental house. Empire was very helpful in both times that we used them. They did everything they could possibly do to make us happy. Also, their price was very reasonable for the job they do.

    I tried to go first through a big box store and it was a terrible experience. But it was so easy to go through Empire. The sales rep that I spoke to was really nice. She was efficient. So the process didn't drag on for hours. It was a no pressure sales. She asked me what kind of carpet I was looking for, like color and texture-wise, and she brought back some samples from her car. It was really quick and easy. The installers were very fast and efficient as well. They were very careful. One of the reasons I chose Empire is because they were able to help me move some of my furniture out of the room. They got it done in about a day. It was great. I love the carpet so much. I thought soup to nuts, he did everything right. I had a set amount that I was gonna spend. And his pricing was about $800 higher than what I had set. And I said, "This is what I have set aside." And they met it. So I was perfectly fine with everything. Also, the installation was professionally done. And the guys were prompt, and cleaned up any kind of mess.     A rep came out for the presentation and she brought everything with her. She went over what they offered and all that wonderful stuff. It worked out better for me and the installation was excellent. I asked to do majority of my house. The lady told me it was gonna take two days for them to do it. The installers came in punctual at 8 o'clock in the morning and they were finished that evening. The quality of work is excellent and their manager followed up.     The cost and just how helpful the salesman was persuaded me to go with Empire. We had laminate floors and carpet done on three bedrooms, a kitchen and two living rooms. There were a few hiccups during the installation but I’m in the service industry so I understand when things arise when you go into doing any sort of repairs. Empire was very helpful.     DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! They did not communicate at all during the process! When they showed up they increased the price of the job after tearing up my tile floor and I didn't have a choice. Did not cover my personal property like tv built into my walls, beds, countertops! Scratched all of my furniture and did nothing about it. I come home one evening to find all of my furniture outside! We live in Florida! There's at no point that's a good idea! They promise it's not third party contractors but they are! When you try and get ahold of anyone you have to leave a message because they don't really have an office anywhere. No one on this random install team spoke English so couldn't even talk to them about issues!

    Now that we are done with all the damage and issue they charged me extra but only offer a $500 discount on destroying 2 60inch tv, solid wood chairs and dining room set. And my brand new beds we purchased were not covered at all during the tile removal so are covered in chunks of tile and an unmeasurable about of dust!!! I have had nothing but lung issues since we moved back it! The installers have to return 5 times to repair issues already only to fill the damaged flooring with a wood filler!!?? They are brand new vinyl floors and should be replaced!!! The flooring looks nothing like we agreed upon. Since they received their money no one can get ahold of them now either! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

    Overall the experience was fine. The product installed is nice. And it was on sale so overall the whole thing wasn’t a major financial setback. The sales person experience was fine. The installation timeline was accurate and work was completed. My main criticisms are there was a major mess left in my driveway where they cut all the carpeting. It was not worth my time to have the team come back to Clean because there’s no way they would’ve done it to my level of standard and it was going to rain which would’ve made all the carpet hooks nearly impossible to get out of my lawn and garden beds. It ended up being about 25 gallon buckets, full of carpet, shreds, and little loops. This not necessarily the fault of Empire rather the contracted installation team. But there should be a standard around cleanup, and it should be thorough.

    My other complaint is about the manner in which the carpet pad is installed with the spill guard - You pay quite a bit more per square foot for the spill guard, and if you watch the installation, they put about 10,000 staples in it which punctures the barrier everywhere. Like huge breaks in the barrier made by the head of the staple hammer. As you can imagine if there’s actually a spill on the carpet, any liquid will go through one of the staple holes and that seems to defeat the purpose.

    Few years back we were thinking about getting new carpet for the house, we had the consultation sometime later on, long story short even though we still live in a raised ranch the quote the guy offered was $17,580. We told him no. I still remember it to this day, nearly 18 grand for a small section of house. You must be joking. Recently a carpet place moved into town. We gave them a call, same thing but quoted $1740. We said ok. 48 hours later carpet installed. Very professionally done. Yea, stay away from Empire carpet for the 900% up charge fees.

I have had to phone tag with them to get them to come back and fix the bad job and even when they came back, the floor still were not done correctly!     The 1 year installation warranty means the floors will last 2 years. Vinyl tiles leak and the vinyl planks peal up. Waste of money. Warranty Claim they want $150 to “inspect” then charge for a new floor. STAY AWAY FROM EMPIRE FLOORS. Waste of time and money.

    I've used Empire in the past and was satisfied but this time around, it was the worst experience I've ever had. The salesperson did not tell me everything I needed to know. Then when I was trying to reach him to get other information or have him come back out to finish the quote, he was very nonresponsive. So, I called and tried to get somebody else. They didn't respond. So, I gave up and I went with somebody else for the second part of what I needed to do.

    I also purchased a warranty. I was moving to a brand-new house for me. So, boxes were everywhere when I called. Then when I finished unpacking, there was a scratch on the floor that they had installed. So, I called to file a claim. They said I couldn't call because I couldn't tell them when the scratch happened. I'm sure it happened when the move happened, but the boxes were covering it. It was a big fiasco. I was very frustrated because I pay a lot of money for that warranty and I have a big old scratch on my floor. So, I canceled the warranty. Nobody ever called me back or did anything. It was mostly a “Too bad, so sad” response I got. I have six other rooms that I need to have done. It was terrible. I need to do the whole downstairs, still, but I still have a big old scratch on my floor in the middle of what I paid, for me, a lot of money for. Other than the scratch, I don't have any problems with the quality of the materials.

    I had ceramic tiles installed by Empire Today. I had one repair that needed to be done, which was done very recently. The grout was coming loose in a major walkway. They sent the same guy out and he fixed it up very quickly and neatly and it's doing good. But there was one little thing that I was disappointed in. I didn't get any extra tiles. I got a very small piece that got a crack in it from another worker. I was having some other work done in my house and a worker hit it with a mallet and he cracked a piece of tile.

    I called Empire to see if I could get any extra tiles. But I was told I would have to buy a whole box. The worker didn't try to replace it. He just tried to fix the crack and he couldn't match the grout exactly. You could tell something's been done to it and it was brand-new. That was a little bit disappointing. I went to Home Depot and I found a close match to the tile so that if something else breaks, at least I have a match to try to fix it with. That was a little bit discouraging.

    I had Empire Today put laminate flooring in the dining room and hallway. I like the look of my new flooring and their sales rep was nice. But I did wanted luxury vinyl floors and he quickly talked me out. He just told me that the price would be higher. So I stayed with the laminate. The gentleman who came here to do the installation was nice as well. I was pleased with his work to a certain extent and he answered questions. I asked him if I should use a Swiffer to clean the flooring and he said yes. He told me not to use a mop and a broom, and that that little sweeper duster would do good. But I noticed that in my bath, the flooring was making some noise and it didn't feel comfortable when I was walking on it. Then, after the installation, I still had questions that I didn't really know I would have, so I called the corporate office. They were nice to send someone out here later to explain everything to me.

    The sales rep with Empire Today was professional and had knowledge of the materials. However, the installation wasn't great. It was snowing at the time and I had to ask the install person to take off his shoes because I didn't want him coming in with the snow and going on my carpet upstairs to put the carpet. But he said he wasn't gonna take off his shoes and that I had to reschedule. He tried to talk me into going ahead with it. I had to put my own towels down all the way up the stairs. He did do a good job at the end of it but the interaction with him was terrible. I was very dissatisfied. Even the carpet that he installed got wet because of his shoes.

    Some of my flooring that Empire Today did four years ago is separating. I need to call them back to take a look at it. I am not happy with the overall product, how it looks now even though I don't mop and follow the rules. I always made sure that my mop was not wet. They sold me hardwood floor that was supposed to be waterproof and scratch proof. It is scratch proof but not waterproof.

    We wanted to re-carpet our home. After getting a quote from a box store and a private installer, we called Empire Today to set up an appointment and get a quote. The salesperson came to our home on time, brought samples, discussed pricing, and measured our square footage. He walked around our house with us and explained what we would need to do to prepare for the installation and the policies about moving furniture (which were way more flexible and giving that the box store offered). He worked up a quote that was HALF the amount of the box store quote and gave it to us before he left.

    I captured the information about the carpet and pad so I could compare the quality of the rug and I determined the carpet was reasonably comparable to the carpeting used in the other quotes. In fact, the Empire quote included an 8lb pad. There was absolutely no pressure. The salesman left his number and told us to call him if we needed more information or wanted to proceed. We called to schedule and the salesman came back to our house, we finalized the carpet selection, signed the contract and set the installation schedule.

    Empire was extremely accommodating in setting the schedule. In fact, they even broke the installation into 2 different days because that was convenient for us. The installation team arrived within the designated window on both installation days. They were EXCELLENT! They were friendly, fast, professional, and the finished product looks amazing! We could not have been happier. A great product at a fabulous price! My house looks beautiful now and feels so clean... I love it!

    The sales rep was good. However, the installers didn't communicate a whole lot. There was a language barrier. The flooring is great but I wasn't happy with the trim pieces that they put around the fireplace. The one side is 18-inches long. They had to use two different pieces and you could see a cut line. It's also not attached all the way to the floor so every day I have to go and push it back down. One of the walls we have didn't have baseboard on it yet. I talked to the sales rep about it and he said they would leave a piece of quarter round behind. But after they left, there was nothing left behind besides a half a box of flooring. I sent an email shortly after the installation saying I wasn't happy, but nothing ever got sent back from Empire Today.

    They do not stand behind their warranty. I had engineered hardwood installed (Cambridge Hand Scrapped in Nutmeg) with a manufacturer lifetime warranty a few years ago. After about a year or two the floor chipped in one area, and few years later is now beginning to show signs of delamination and faulty coloring on a few planks. I contacted customer service and was told I would need to have an inspection done to determine the reason behind the problem.

    I paid $250 dollars to have one of their employees come out to determine the issues and take moisture readings, etc. He was very quick to tell me it was not an installation issue, and that there is no moisture issue, so it would have to be a manufacturing issue. Of course when it goes to the manufacturer they claim that because I don't have a dehumidifier on my furnace, that must be the problem, and it's a site issue. What an absolute scam! I live in Michigan, not Louisiana. They're saying my only option now is to replace my entire floor at my cost. Seriously disappointed with this company, and would steer anybody thinking of using them in another direction.

    Updated on 06/01/2024: After writing my review about Empire Today's cheap carpet and terrible service.. I was contacted by Empire Today customer service. I sent them the pictures of the problems with the carpet. They wanted $200 to fix their mistake. I refuse to lay out any money. I'll go to another carpet company and replace it rather than pay the $200 for them to fix their mistakes with their cheap carpet and terrible installation!

    Original Review: Empire Today installed carpet throughout most of my house. The actual carpet itself is very cheap... Shows footprints terribly. I asked the salesman to give me carpet that doesn't show footprints. He gave me this garbage. I had to change to planking but the remaining part of my house that still has carpeting is showing lines an installation problems.. Empire wanted $125... To look at their installation. I will never purchase anything from empire again.

    We had carpeting installed from Empire in the living rm, hallway & 3 bedrms in 2/2020. We went with their best quality carpet & padding. The salesman, installers were great. After 3.5 years the hallway carpeting is showing signs of wear. The 2 major seams, one between the living rm & hallway & the other in a guest bedroom (that rarely gets used) have become visible. We are a household of 2. Called Empire re: the seams.. Was informed that because the carpeting was out of warranty I would have to pay a minimum of $250 for them to come out to fix the seams. Feel this is very unacceptable as we have had other carpet installations that have lasted 25+ yrs before it showed signs of wear with no visible seams! Think twice before buying from this company.

    I should have read the reviews before contacting them. On May 9th, 2024 a representative from Empire Today (Primal **) came by my home for a scheduled appointment. He brought several carpet samples with him. I agreed to a carpet that match a color in my hardwood floors. The product, Allure-Fascinate, is brown-gold and shown in the attached contract. That carpet was to be installed in the stairway and updaters, corridors, as well as the upstairs media room. The contract price, which included a second carpet type to be installed in a bedroom, was $4500, paid in advance.

    When the installers arrived on Monday May 13th, I noticed a much lighter product and brought it to the attention of the crew chief. He assured me that it was the correct carpet and that once installed it would be darker under home lighting conditions instead of the direct sun. I believed him and allowed him to proceed. I am a senior citizen but should have known better. Exhibit 1 is a comparison of what I ordered and what was installed. I complained again and the installer contacted the head office and I briefly spoke to someone who said the salesman should have told me that the actual color of the carpet might be slightly different from the sample. You can see from Exhibit 1 that there is a dramatic difference between what I ordered and what was installed.

    When the installer was finished, he asked me to sign the install completion certificate. He explained that it just covered the installation and had would not impact my claim about the color of my project so I signed. I contacted my the salesperson who agreed that there was a substantial difference after seeing the difference (see text message). I offered to accept a price discount because I did not want to go through a full day install again but nothing is being done.     WE HAD FLOORING INSTALLED ABOUT 18 MONTHS AGO, IN OUR KITCHEN, LIVING ROOM, DINING ROOM AND ALL-SEASON ROOM. Now, we have warping, buckling and cracked corners in the flooring in the dining room. Finally, after several calls, someone did return our call and left a name and number on our voice mail along with an email. We submitted pictures and answered their questions. So now we are told the Extended Service Plan is not a warranty and does not cover anything because this was not an accident of some major event.

    I feel it was the result of poor material and installation. I am not happy with your company, at all. We have had nothing but hassles, now you say our extended service plan covers Nothing! What in the world did we pay $1300 for? Now you want me to pay to have someone come to our house and assess the poor quality of your floor. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS FLOOR COMPANY TO ANYONE. I believe your advertisement is misleading, your service plan is worthless, your communication and customer service is extremely poor. I'm going to contact the Better Business Bureau.

    We just purchased some vinyl plank floors from Empire Today and they did a good job. The gentlemen in the store were very nice but we had a little bit of an issue because in the beginning, their sales rep who came out was very limited on what he showed us. When they came to install the floor, before they could even put more than two planks down, we told them that it was the wrong color and it didn't look the same as the picture. So we picked out another one. But then, their rep only brought one or two books and that was all they could transport in their car. So we weren't given a big selection, but it worked out and we're happy with the floors. I also got a call yesterday from somebody from Empire looking for more business. They asked if there was any other flooring we wanted done. But we don't have any more floors to change in here and they did all our bedrooms.

I had frieze carpeting done in the living room area, and the salesperson convinced me that it made more sense to use the same style and color throughout the house, so I had it installed in the master bedroom as well as the smaller bedroom.     Despite purchasing a warranty, which I believed would cover any issues for five years, I am facing a significant problem with my flooring. Recently, sections of the flooring have begun to lift, and the issue is rapidly spreading throughout my home. Upon contacting Empire Today, a representative was sent to inspect the flooring. To my dismay, it was determined that the problem was due to installer error, requiring the replacement of approximately 300 square feet of flooring. Understandably frustrated by the inconvenience of such extensive repairs, I was nonetheless relieved that a solution was in sight. However, my relief was short-lived.

    Shockingly, my claim for the necessary repairs was denied by your company's claims department. Despite clear evidence of installer error, I was informed that because the issue was not deemed my fault or caused by an accident, it would not be covered. Even your representative, Auddie, expressed disbelief at this decision. As a result, I am left with a $9,000 flooring investment that is rapidly deteriorating due to your company's negligence. I feel compelled to warn others to steer clear of Empire Today to avoid similar experiences. I urge you to reconsider your decision and honor your commitment to customer satisfaction. Failing to rectify this situation will only further tarnish your company's reputation.

    I had carpeting installed by Empire Today in the family room and I wasn't too happy with the installers. I couldn't talk to any of them. Also, the installation took a couple of hours. They put it down in pieces. It was wide enough. They could have started in front of the room, went almost halfway with it, and then took the other piece, and went the rest of the way. And there is one strip next to the wall where there's no traffic. But, they went the other way. They went from front to back. They went from the fireplace to the back wall. Then they put a strip in at the door to make it the rest of the way on the width. Also, the transition strip from the family room to the kitchen came up. Two weeks later, I had to have another crew come in and put another strip down.

    If I could give them a zero, I would. We had a representative come out a month ago and exam our floors. He told us there would be "no problem" for them to level the floors when they put the flooring down. This past weekend we ripped up the flooring that was already there and moved everything out of the house. Empire shows up today and says they will not be able to install my floors until a general contractor has done all of the reflooring. We have a baby coming in a few months. The house is a disaster and our floors are completely ripped up. Completely unprofessional and condescending. A manager called us while the workers were there and basically didn't care saying that we should have read the fine print and not gone by what our sales rep told us. Do not use this company or else you will be left with a house house that is completely a mess.

    Sales rep was great. On time, nice and professional. Was able to get floors installed quickly. However the quality of the work was not good. Quarter round not attached appropriately, left a gap between the floor and bathtub because they didn’t caulk properly, and corner pieces of quarter round are not attached. They were not careful during the removal and install and chipped paint and left gouges in my kitchen cabinets. When I complained to Empire they did not acknowledge the damage to my cabinets and ignored every mention if it and that I’d be charged to have someone come repair. I expected better service.

    A couple of years ago, my spouse wanted to get an estimate and it didn't go very well. A rep from Empire came out and she had a bad experience. She was not very happy. Then, recently, we were remodeling and I saw they had some incentive going on and thought it was a really good deal. I looked at different things on their website and I could click on what I'm looking at and put it in the room where I was. It gave me the opportunity to see what the flooring would look like.

    My wife was quite leery but we had a sales guy come. He listened to what we were trying to do and he did a phenomenal job talking through the products, taking the measurements, and counseling us well on what would be a good product to have for the type of traffic we have. We told him we would like to do it if he could do something that could match the flooring in the other room, doesn't have to be exactly the same but as close as he can get it. He put it together and gave us a phenomenal quote and we did it. Everything was ironed out in paperwork and we got everything we had on the computer. He produced those documents in an email and I was able to review them.

    It was a two-man crew who did the installation and they were very respectful. They came early and did what they needed to do. They pulled up the carpet we had, pulled up the straps, and then they put the floor down. Once they got the floor laid down, they had to do a little trim out at the cove of the door and their craftsmanship is very good. Then one came around and put down the little trim along the bottom cove and they did it really well. There are no edges anywhere, no gaps, no unevenness, and the pattern is nice. They did a phenomenal job and my wife was singing the praises when they left. I've recommended them to a couple of people.

    We had the carpeting taken out and wooden floors put in. Empire Today was very quick with it. We have stuff that they had to move and the workers did that with care. I was very pleased with their service. They were very polite if there were questions. There was a slight language barrier, but it wasn't anything that could not be overcome. They were very much in tune with our needs and went beyond what I would have expected. We had the living room and the hallway done before Empire came in. We got something that was very close to a match to that and we were able to do that. Unless you get a magnifying glass to look at it, it looks seamless. We were and remain satisfied. With the salesperson however, he quoted one interest rate that was not consistent with the interest rate that I saw in the contract.     Empire Today beat out the competition purely on the fact that they had a good selection for the kitchen. A guy came out to give me the estimate. It was 9,000 for the house and 5,000 for the kitchen. But when we got to it, it was more than that. I asked where my 75% off was which was the reason I had them come out. He brought his supervisor with him and she called the office. She told me I was gonna get my floors at 20% off. I got bait and switched there.

    The installation was crazy. The first set of guys that came out to do the entire house flooring, not the kitchen, did an awesome job. They were quick and efficient. They took care of everything. They ended up moving the big, heavy stuff. But with the other guys that came out to do the kitchen, I ended up having to call the company back because they put the flooring down but I didn't have matching molding.

    I had a dark brown color on the floor. The kitchen had all these dark grays and yellows on it with no grout. My cabinets are a dark oak so I matched the floor with that, but none of the molding and corners that they did under the cabinet were available close to that color. They didn't have enough to finish the job, so they mixed it with white, gray, and brown on my countertop. I have a big island in the center of the kitchen. That had some brown and gray, and the cabinet under the sink had white, gray and brown on them. It was a mix-match hodgepodge. It was not very conducive or pretty. I had it put in the last week in December. Even today if we walk on it without me sweeping it for a couple of days and mopping it, I still have residue of the sticky stuff that they used seeping out on the edges that I have to go through and elbow it out so it comes out.

    One of the guys called and said, “I've got you on my list. I gotta close out this ticket.” I told him I'd send him the pictures which I did. He said, "I can't believe we did that. How can I fix this?” I said, “I'd like to have something that matches or have it stained." He said, “I'll have somebody come out and bring you some cornering so that you can at least practice on it.” That never happened. I ended up staining the ones along the kitchen cabinet myself.

    When they were taking my tile out, they pulled the oven out my stove from the wall and disconnected the gas line. When everything was ready to be put back, they told me, “We can't connect your gas line. It has to be a licensed plumber to connect it because it's gas.” Now I have to wait and take out the money to have somebody come and put the gas line back on so I can cook.

    The first time we used Empire, we had carpet installed on two bedrooms and four closets. And the second time, it was on a bedroom, steps and a loft area. Jason, their representative, came out and I liked him, so I requested to use him again. He did measurements and showed me samples although we went with the same carpet that we used a few months earlier. He was very comfortable to talk to, friendly and willing to help and get it done. The installers were very nice, neat and cleaned up after themselves. Empire has good customer service. They took care of my needs and made me comfortable with the whole process.

    We had Empire Today install laminated vinyl flooring in our living rooms and hallway. Our sales rep was extremely helpful, and went over all the products with me. They showed me everything that was in the books and explained them when I had questions. I don't know anything about vinyl planks and he explained all the ones I asked about. So, he made it really easy for me to make my choice, which I'm very happy with. The installation couldn't have gone better. The workers came. They had it done in hours that day. It wasn't even a whole day. I left the house. I thought I was gonna have to get a hotel because I thought that it would take a couple of days. I didn't know they could lay that flooring that quick. So, it was great.

    I love the quality of work that was done. The flooring is beautiful. It goes right up to the sliding door. There are no creases or little crevices. They've done it right to the tee. I stood here, amazed, looking at it. I'm so happy with it. I could show other people pictures of it and how good it looks. And for the price, you can't beat it. It's great. All my friends that have seen it have really nice homes with nice flooring, and they loved my flooring. As far as caring for it, I could just use water and a Swifter. It's that easy to clean. When I get time to get everything out of my bedroom, I am going to have Empire come back and do my bedroom because I love this.

    I scheduled an appointment to get an estimate for carpet installation. I scheduled my appointment between 9 am and 11 am. I received a phone call stating a representative would arrive at 10:30 am. At 11:05 am, I called 1-855-558-3200, and a sleepy phone rep answered. She informed me that someone was at my home at 10:30 am, and they called me. Which was not so; I've taken off from work to accommodate my appointment. There was no knock at my door or a phone call. She stated the sales rep canceled my appointment because of a no-show. I was furious.

    I decided to call again to get a rep who was not sleeping. I called 1-844-643-0219 and got an outstanding rep. I explained my situation, and she informed me that they needed to cancel my appointment because no one was home. She contacted the sales rep and said that someone would call me. Unfortunately, I would instead not get a call because it is unprofessional not to contact a customer, especially a customer who has taken off from work, a customer who was excited about having her home carpeted and turned around to be disappointed because of laziness, inconsiderate, and irresponsible Empire salespeople.

    I purchased vinyl flooring from Empire Today and I had it installed in the whole house. It was very expensive, but it was worth it. The installers put it in in the time that they had to schedule it and it took five to seven days to finish, which was within the timeframe that was estimated. They were very good and everything was fine. But Empire sent this big flyer that said 70% discount and when their sales guy came here, he said it was only for this gray floor that was good for funeral houses. That was a marketing trick so I was disappointed with it. I was also very disappointed that when I was trying to apply for the credit, the credit company that they sent rejected me even though I have a record of 780 which was good enough. I called the company that did the analysis and they said that since I pay in full all the monthly payments, I was not a good catch for the credit company because they were not making any interest on me.

    The installers were courteous and did a great job. The salesman was hard to get ahold of after the sale. When he did answer back I told him the issue, but he never got back to me. It seems the personnel at the office don't communicate with each other. I call to reschedule the install, but the installer should up anyway which he said no one every reached out to him advising him of the reschedule. I also had to reschedule again and it was never written down as per your office. Really bad customer service. Because of this I will never reach to get flooring done again from Empire.

    We did both carpet and the luxury vinyl planks with Empire. The salesperson was really good. I was able to send him an image of our floor plan first. We had enough information when he came and he brought all the materials that we needed and to choose from. He had a good idea of how much square footage of all of it was. He was able to give us a relatively good estimate while he was here. We went ahead and signed up for it and paid a downpayment on it.

    The folks did well. I was impressed with how well they moved things around, and moved them back and were willing to work around the stuff we had. All of that worked out well. The first day of installation was good. We had some issues with the installation itself, though. There were four people doing the installation, two guys and two girls. The women impressed me more than anything. They were moving all that stuff and they were very strong. They started on November 24th and finished four days later. They finished two days earlier than estimated.

    We did a large amount of the luxury vinyl plank. But in one small area of about 10 square feet and one place in the kitchen, the tiles started coming up on the corner. We had them come back a couple of weeks later and they replaced a bunch of planks. And they did the same thing again. So I had them come out again in January and they looked at it and they decided they needed to pull up a number of the planks and re-sand it and re-float some of the concrete on it.

    There were some bumps that were making it come up. The problem with that was that it took forever to get that to happen. And most of it was because the LVP was a special order and they couldn't get the new planks to come put in. So it took a very long time to get it to where they could come and replace it. But it was okay. It didn't get any worse. Now, they're all replaced and they're all down and everything looks really good. We were happy with the initial installation. They did the carpet and the tile and they did it fast and it was really nice except for these couple of places.

    The flooring was okay but I didn't get the floor that I picked that I really wanted. Empire ordered a floor that couldn't go on top of my floor. When the people came out to put the floor down, I didn't understand them because they were speaking Spanish but they said that somebody would call me back. So they left and their supervisor called me and the salesperson said that something about the floor couldn't go on top of my floor. So I needed to have a different floor. So he chose the other floor and I just went with it.

    When they put down the cement, they swung it all over the place. I have a brand-new door and they flung the cement on the inside of my door and I have the gray cement on the outside of my door on my porch. You can't just pick the cement because it's gonna take the paint off. So I have to get my door repainted white because it's filthy. I will also have the inside where they flung it painted. I'm a little upset about it. I don't like the floor. The floor is absolutely ugly because it wasn't what I picked out. What I picked out would have gone better with my countertops, my backsplash, and also my cabinets. But overall, the experience is good.

    Empire Today is a very good company and I like the work they did and it took only two days to do it and I like their product. I'd tell others to check Empire out. They're decent because they were gonna charge me 10,000. They said, "Well, no, we're not gonna be doing that because it's too much money for people." They lowered their prices from 10,000 to 6,000. So, I said, "Okay." The rep showed me a very large selection of samples of flooring. He was there for two hours telling me the difference in them and then I just chose the kind of flooring I wanted. The guy knew what he was talking about. Empire's customer service was very good and very reasonable.

    There were issues with the original flooring because he had a tile on top of plywood. They were living in a condo and it's an apartment building and it had two layers of carpet in the living room. Then, the original tile that I had was glued to the flooring. So, when the installers started tearing up the tile, the flooring came out and that cost me a little bit more than anticipated. So I accepted it, but it was $2,000 more because the flooring had to be level in order for the floor to work. So, they had to put new plywood in. The floor in the kitchen and the alcove that was in the hallway was all wrecked. They had to put new plywood in. They had to measure it and cut it, and it only took two days to do it. I got a very good flooring because it's easy to clean and easy to maintain. I had laminated flooring put in.

    I had my basement floor redone with waterproof vinyl plank and I got quotes for two more rooms that I hope to do soon. Empire was a little more expensive than the other companies I got quotes from but the quality was higher when you compare what they were putting on the table for the floor versus what the competitors were. The two lowest quotes were lying about what kind of floor it was. And they were gonna put in flooring that was not waterproof, and was not sealed, and they didn't guarantee their work, which is why they disappeared and I didn't use them. Then, I called one of the big box stores and had them come out and do a quote. After they did the measurements and the quote, they came back and said it was not the exact kind of floor I asked for so it was gonna cost me this much instead of this much. And we can't do it for a month and a half even though we said we could do it in the next couple of days.

    I called Empire on a Monday night and on Tuesday, the area manager was in my house doing measurements and showing me flooring samples. On Saturday, it was done. It was a week from the phone call to finish and the rep explained that it's not normally that fast. I had a flooring guy in my house recently who was trying to sell me on a space that Empire had already quoted me, and he quoted me almost double what Empire did. So, Empire got my business. I'm a tough person to sell because I worked in retail for far too long.

    One of the reasons that I went with Empire is because they explained how their crews work and that if I call in and need something repaired or there is something that goes haywire, the same crew comes out to fix it. It's not a guessing game of them getting a crew when they can. The rep gave me all the paperwork explaining the manufacturer's warranty on the floors and what they cover as far as workmanship. If next winter I start to see gaps in a section of the floor, I can call and they'll come out and take a look at it.

    I purchased vinyl flooring and installation services from Empire Today to be installed in my office and on the stairs. The Sales representative showed me a sample of the flooring to be installed but not the stair nose. He did ensure me they would be an exact match. It turns out the stair nose is a much darker grey than the vinyl flooring used on the steps and in the office. Not only is it darker in color, it is also thicker, making each step uneven. When I contacted Empire Today, they sent a representative who agreed it was not right but said it was up to the company. When I called Empire, they stated that is the way the product is made and it's an issue with the product manufacturer and not them. I am not happy with the uneven color and the difference in height between the stair nose and step. Had I been informed of this issue, I would not have purchased this product.

    Updated on 04/01/2024: I installed Luxury Vinyl Plank in my living-dining area less than two years ago, I purchased a protection plan for 5 years, 3 month ago I reported a problem with my floor, the customer service representative asked me to send pictures from the damaged area and I send it, and without coming to my house she told me that in order for them to come I needed to pay $225 at front for them to do an assessment, and I asked about the protection plan I purchased, to my surprise she told me that it was ONLY for accident with the floor. My contract doesn't say that. Not even in small letters.

    I hired a professional installer and this person told me that because I live closed to a pond, the company should advised me about what humidity does to that type of floor and that it was supposed to be installed with a humidity protection underneath. I didn't have an idea about that, if they are good professional, why they installed without it?. I purchased whatever the Empire Sales person told me was supposed to be the best floor and careless. With that said, I wouldn't recommend Empire Today. Bad Service and Worst Customer Service.

    Original Review: Terrible customer service, lies about protection plan, poor quality product and they never honor your protection plan when needed, if you do, they charge you $225 for the assessment. I don't recommend Empire Today.

    We contacted Empire to get new LVP throughout our house with carpet in the bedrooms. The carpet has been good but the LVP was a huge mistake with empire. It is raised up in several places throughout the home after 1 year. When we contacted Empire, we were told the repair (even with a lifetime warranty) that it was not covered and we would have to basically pay thousands for a new floor. Awful customer service, empty promises and poor installation.

    I ordered some carpet for my two bedrooms and they came in and did what they needed to do with the area. They called before they came and they told me what time they were gonna get there. They did and they moved all of the furniture out of the room but I had to move my personal items. Once they moved the bed and everything else out, they took the carpet out and they did what they’re supposed to do. They also cleaned up their mess as they went along. They did good work and the quality was very good. I can tell the difference in the carpet that I had and what I have now. Also, they told me that I need to make sure that I vacuum my carpet and if I paint it or something like that, they offered coming and replacing the carpet. So when their rep came out, even though he was showing me other carpets, I just told him, "That is what I want" which is what he brought. We already talked on the telephone. So, I made it easy for him by doing my own homework.

    As far as the installation, the guys came in and they were really good. They pushed the furniture that they could not get out of the room to the side. And then when they finished one side, they push it to the other side. They were very precise. They vacuumed. They cleaned up their mess. There was just a whole lot of dust because I had some old carpet that really needed to be replaced. Other than that, they were very quick. I thought it was gonna take a whole day and it did not. When I had an issue with putting some furniture back, they were very nice to assist me on some things. I will recommend them to anyone. Workmanship was great. Quality of the carpet is wonderful. It's very plush. I like it. I enjoy it.

It made so much sense to have the rep come straight to the house and bring different materials for me to choose from. It was professional from start to finish and I was very happy with them. The installers showed up in the morning and it ran a day and a half because they had to take out some tile floor that they weren’t aware of. We worked it out with the salesman but the installers didn't know about it. So it took one guy a better part of a day just to break out a bunch of tiles. But they were efficient.     Empire’s was just such a good price and I had vinyl flooring installed on the stairs, the master bedroom, a hallway and two spare bedrooms. The salesperson did a great job but the installers did an atrocious job. They showed up on time and they were nice. But they were not respectful of my actual home. There are liquid nails that I haven't been able to get off of my banisters and walls. They damaged my walls in several places, taking off the kickboards. They scratched the floor and when I saw it and pointed it out to them, they buffed it so that it would look somewhat nice, but told me that it wasn't a scratch. So, they lied to my face. Then, they didn't caulk the places they were supposed to caulk until I told them that they needed to.

    The installers didn’t install the stairs correctly because they have all of these clamp marks on the nose of the stairs that shouldn't be there. They told me they were nails but it doesn't make any sense. I've never seen a nail gun that could make that kind of pattern. When our sales guy told us about the stairs being the most expensive, he said they'd have to cut the lip of the stair off and then put the nose on, but the guys just put the nose over the top, so when you look at the back of the stairs, the riser part is slanted so it's not set flush against the stairs. I asked that Empire come out and have somebody inspect and they sent the installer who did it.

    I wanted a third opinion, a non-partial party, and Empire sent me somebody who was partial, so I just gave up. They don't wanna stand by their guarantee so I'm good just ignoring it and hoping that the noses don't fall off and cause somebody to get hurt. But if they do, then it's gonna be a bigger problem. I actively trash Empire's name to my friends so that anybody and everybody I know will never even think to get a quote from them. I would never recommend them to anybody and I will never use them again.

    We were happy with the work that we had done through Empire Today. We have a three-bedroom home and we had all them carpeted. We chose Empire because we were on a quick deadline and they could handle it for us. The installers were here for about two and a half hours, and they did an excellent job. They worked quickly. They vacuumed up and left it very nice when they were gone.

    The only negative thing is we were going to pay for installation. The salesman that helped us said, "As long as you make a monthly payment, you've got 18 months to pay it off. Then you can use your money for other things." We thought, "Okay. Well, then we'll do that. We won't dig into our savings." We would have preferred to pay cash for it. He just didn't explain it enough. We were under the impression that the financing was gonna be handled with Empire, but it wasn't.     We had Empire install linoleum and the wood-looking flooring in the den and in the bathroom. The sales visit was very informal. The rep seemed to be very down to earth and he wasn't pushy. He just was working with us on trying to decide what would best fit our needs. Three people came out for the installation. They just confirmed what my mom wanted because she was the one that wanted it done. She oversaw the whole process, but I was in the home and I could hear them working and they did not drag around. They just went to work. They already had a game plan of what to do. I was very impressed that they were able to finish so quickly and so efficiently.

    I had Empire Today install flooring and carpet in two rooms and the staircase. The flooring was good but the stairs pissed me off because I didn't realize the installers didn't do the very top step, which goes into my loft. So, it looks dumb. I asked them if they could do that front part of that last step and they said it's attached to the rest of the loft. So, if I wanted that, I'd have to get the whole loft done. I don't know why they just couldn't staple up a piece on that. Also, when they did my flooring, they flipped my fridge and spilled some soup in there and left a big mess inside.

The quality of the flooring is great, but the communication was lacking during the installation. It also took longer than we were told it was going to take and we didn't know when to expect them to finish the flooring. We thought it was going to take one day but it took two days.     I was not very happy with the experience with Empire. I feel like we were completely lied to through the whole process. The price point was very high and we kind of felt suckered into making the choice that day. We purchased laminate flooring and it was installed in the main entryway and hallway, kitchen, dining room, and living room area. The sales rep told us they're 100% waterproof but when our guy came to put the floor in, he said that it is not waterproof and that he highly suggests not getting water on it whatsoever, which very upset us afterwards.

    This was right before Christmas and we were told the installation would take one day, maybe two, but it ended up taking 10 days. Also, it was supposed to be a three part and one guy had to leave to do a separate job. They kept telling us when he comes back, it's gonna go quicker and it did go quicker. But then when I walked on a piece that was in the middle, there was a piece that was completely put in wrong and they had to pull it back out. They came back the next day and they pulled a section off and put it back in. They had to redo all that and then they ran out of materials. They had to come back and they only came back with two people. They didn't have the right baseboard. It was always something. Then, we never got an itemized receipt of what we paid for and we were told it was gonna be interest repayments for 48 months.

    The sales visit was very good. The sales associate came at a time when normally, most companies would not make an appointment. He was very straightforward and made the experience very pleasurable. He was very knowledgeable about the products and we got the best price we could get. We got good value for our money. We moved as much as we could but as the installers moved from room to room, they moved the heavy furniture around and made it very easy and cleaned up after themselves. The quality of work was very good, except for the staircase. They nailed the materials down on the staircase in the middle of the stairs and in that indention, they tried to use a filler to cover it up. But you could see the filler and the smear of it as well as the distortion of the product from the nail going through on those steps. They came back though and ultimately replaced all of those.

    Empire Today did the installation on two sets of staircases, all the bedrooms upstairs and in the downstairs basement with a laminate product. We have dogs and the ability to clean up hair off the floor and keep it clean is a lot better. I've told family and friends about our project and invited neighbors to look at the flooring. It was a good deal and the flooring looks great.

    The sales rep who came out asked me what I was looking for and measured the area. Then, he showed me my options with the different kinds of rugs and padding. On installation day, they called to tell me they were on their way and what time they would be here. They came, did their job, and were really good. It took a day and a half. Two guys did the carpet and they got here about 10:00 and left at 6:00. Then, two guys did the tile and it took half a day because the stuff had to dry.     We purchase LVT and carpet throughout our house. The LVT was installed first, and then the carpet. The carpet installer scratched our "scratch resistant flooring". We have other scratches in the floor from chairs and such. We purchased warranty, and although I have called four times, no one has been out to fix it. This has been going on for months. I wouldn't recommend due to the lack of customer service, and we even paid a pretty penny for the warranty. Additionally, the salesperson told us over and over again how scratch resistant the LVT is, and not even 4 months later we have multiple visible scratches. They won't respond to come out and fix the damage they caused to the floor while installing.

    We had hardwood flooring installed last spring after the purchase of our home. The install was done before we moved in. Less than a month later they were back out doing repairs. I noticed dark spots on the floor and other small problems. The installer came back out and rubbed something over the dark spots and told me, "See it’s gone." I was thinking oh maybe I was crazy. Nope! The same spot is back as well as others. They also had to come and replace an entire section of the flooring.

    Next all the wood started to separate and and have big gaps in it almost immediately. Like others have mentioned I could not get in contact with anyone or receive any response back from messages I left or the emails I sent that included pictures. I finally called like I wanted to purchase from them. That is when I finally got a live person and explained my issue and she forwarded my concern and Amanda finally called me back and claimed she never received my messages. This took all the way until December to get it resolved.

    A different set of contractors came out had putty and glue stuff and started banging the floors back together and filling in gaps and told me to get the stuff he had from the store so I could repair my floors that separated because of the humidity. I did not understand why I needed to repair floors that were just purchased not even a year ago. I also have never seen floors separate the way mine did. Well here we are again with the same issues of extreme separation and they send someone else out to look at them. This person suggest that they were not installed properly which we figured as much when we had issues in the beginning. This guy also said that the dark spots were water damage.

    Why is this happening especially since this floor is in the kitchen. It is supposed to be able to withstand water. We do mop the floors and we have not had any flooding that would cause water damage. Now we were told it is not their flooring it’s our subfloors that are causing the floors to separate and I need to get a contractor out to fix this and once it has been fixed they will come out and replace all the floors they installed. Now remember the initial flooring was put in before we moved in so I asked if there was any issues that would cause problems why were we not notified before the installation? They could not answer this.

    Fast forward I had a company come out and there is only a small section of my home that has unevenness and it is do to how and where our hvac system is placed. They said our subfloors are fine and they also suggested that it looks like the floors look like they were not installed properly and noticed the black spots on what was supposed to be new hardwood flooring. After reading all the other complaints and seeing their pictures I can clearly see that I am not alone. They lie and take people's money and send anyone to your home to perform the work and when they mess up they try to avoid correcting the real issue.

    The first contractor also tried to get more money out of me even though we already paid. I had to tell him to wait so I can call Empire and he hurried up and changed his story. He also told us that Empire overcharged us for the floors and he wanted to offer us side deals. After my experience I don’t trust none of their contractors or them. The problem is still not fixed and I am currently waiting to see if they will do what is needed to be done or am I going to continue to move forward in seeking legal counsel. I sent the estimates and reported what the subfloor repair company stated. This entire experience has been a horrible one. So much for wanting hardwood floors.

    I went online and scheduled a consultation for Sunday March 3, after church, between 3-5 pm. Stacy ** was the salesperson that came out. Stacy ** needs to be retrained. Her disrespectful behavior towards me caused Empire to lose out on a 5 day installation. She wasted 2.5 hours of my time on Sunday, March 3, 2024. I signed the contract, and scheduled installation for Monday March 11-15. On Friday March 8, I called Stacy on her CELL to inquire why I had not heard from Empire re installation that was to begin in 3 days. I asked her what time the installation team would arrive Monday March 11? How many installers would be on the job? She called me back asking me “did you get my email yesterday?” I said “no”. She emailed me Thursday, March 7th at 12:30 pm to inform me that the installation date was changed to March 18.

    I told her now that she does not the authority to change my installation date without my approval. Even my contract was modified without my knowledge. This is disrespectful of Stacy. Changing my contract without my approval was illegal. She should have CALL or TEXT me on Thursday March 7th to ASK if the installation date can be changed. I had canceled patients March 11, 13, 15 to be home. My son was going to take off from work March 12 & 14.

    Stacy ** true test was when things went wrong. She certainly failed the test for sure. She could have easily called me or texted me to apologize for the delay in installation, then ask me if it is ok for the date to be pushed back to March 18, 2024. I would have shared all my sacrifice done to have an adult home for 5 business days and that the installation dates cannot be changed. Stacy clearly does not care about the company she works for. If she cared, she could have come out to my home March 8rh to show me samples of flooring in stock so that the installation could have gone as scheduled.

    The sales rep made me a better deal than the original deal so that I could go ahead. They checked my credit and I couldn't afford a lot because I'm on Social Security. I originally had hoped to get the luxury vinyl plank on both levels of the townhouse, but it would have been too expensive. He worked with me and we decided just to do the bathroom upstairs and to do the downstairs in luxury vinyl plank. Then, we did carpeting on the staircase, in the two bedrooms, and in the closet.

    We had carpeting and luxury vinyl plank installed and the installers wanted to know which way I wanted my tile laid and I was surprised because they were the tile layers so they should already know that. But I guess they wanted to also make choice. They did all right with the laying of the tile.     Empire Today installed carpet for my bedroom and they were good. They came in and got the job done. The only thing was they came to the house with the wrong carpet. I picked something with a blue green in the gray but they brought a pure gray carpet and they said that was all they had on the truck and they thought that was supposed to be mine. They said if I don't like it, they could go all the way back and get another one. But I agreed to let them put it in so they wouldn't have to go all the way back and get another load because I had my bedroom all cleaned out for them.     Updated on 04/01/2024: This is an update to a previous review I left. This has been reported to the Better Business Bureau. Since their MA customer service manager was the rudest customer service person I have ever dealt with and refused to give me another name, I contacted Empire Today via their Facebook page, and a customer service rep. from the national headquarters looked into the situation. She, at least, submitted our complaint to the manufacturer, but they refused to fix the scratched floor.

    I explained to her that the salesperson had told us when we purchased the floor that Empire's 1-year workmanship and servicing warranty would cover situations like this. She said they cannot abide by verbal communication of their salespeople. Our issue isn't with the manufacturer as that isn't who sold us the floor. It's with Empire Today for selling us a poor-quality floor, misleading us into believing the Empire Today 1-year warranty would cover scratches and stains, and then penalizing the customer for trusting the salesperson's word. The only thing they agreed to fix was a small quarter round that had fallen off the wall; they refused to repair the scratches. I have never dealt with a company that is so disreputable and rude. They have replied to many of my reviews saying they want to make this right - but buyer beware.

    Original Review: As an award-winning journalist with an investigative reporting background, I am shocked that Empire Today has been in business as long as they have with how poorly they treat customers. We had a luxury vinyl plank floor installed last August. The salesperson assured us that this was scratch-proof, but that if we did have any issues, the warranty would cover it and that Empire had a great warranty. Well, six months later, the floor is covered in scratches from light use - essentially from pulling out a chair here and there and walking across it. It's in a dining room, so we hardly ever eat in there and mostly walk through it. We have sat at the table a handful of times in six months. Yes, we have pulled out chairs for those times, but who would expect scratches like this from such mild use? We're pulling them out gently, not dragging them across the floor.

    Clearly, this floor was defective when installed if it was supposed to be as scratch-proof as the salesperson said it was. Their customer service manager (based in Massachusetts) has been extremely rude and unsympathetic and insists the manufacturer warranty and the one-year Empire workmanship and servicing warranty don't cover scratches. This goes against everything the salesperson told us.

    The one-year warranty has a list of what is not covered and scratches is not among them. It says you can obtain warranty services for defects. When I suggested that these scratches were a defect that got worse over time, the customer service manager LAUGHED AT ME and said she had my email saying that we caused it by pulling out chairs.

    I asked to speak to someone above her, and she refused to give me another name. I said, I'm upset enough to go to the Better Business Bureau and you're telling me there is no one else I can speak to who is above you and has the authority to potentially rectify this? By this point, I was raising my voice as she was so rude and unsympathetic. She repeated she was the customer service manager and there was nothing else that could be done, other than express our frustration to the sales manager so they were aware that possibly their sales team was giving out incorrect information.

    However, the sales manager, according to her, would not have the authority to rectify the situation because, apparently, she is the only one within the entire Empire Today Corp. who can be bothered with customer service problems. She wished me a good day and hung up on me, not caring that I was prepared to go to the Business Bureau, write negative reviews, and do whatever I could to resolve this. She chuckled again and said in a very condescending manner, “You do what you need to do, but the warranty does not cover scratches.” I have never dealt with a customer service manager who was so unhelpful and rude, just shutting me down completely. Unbelievable and we will be taking this to the Better Business Bureau and making sure everyone we know does not use this company.

    The gentleman who came here was very helpful and answered any questions that we had. I didn't feel pressured and if we didn't wanna do it now, we could do it in the future. He gave us all the options. I liked the efficiency and how fast Empire Today was. The installers came the next day and when they were here, Empire called and made sure everything was still going okay. I liked that.

    The new carpet is beyond my expectations. I love it. I'm thinking about in the future doing flooring with them too. The carpet is soft and the color is neutral. It matches everything and it’s comfortable. The only thing was, the gentleman told me the total cost after the discounts. I got approved for financing and he said it was broken down into 30 months. He said it would only be 70 dollars a month. When I got my first statement, it said I owed $120. So I was a little taken aback by that because I was told differently. I made a call about it because I was not happy. I wish he would have never said anything.

    We had wood flooring and ceramic tile and carpet flooring installed by Empire Today. I worked with them before and I've always had a positive experience with them.     The carpet needed to be replaced and Empire is like a one-stop shop, which was what I needed. The guy who came was great and he came when he said he would. The only thing was it wasn't like he gave me a step-by-step pricing. He asked if I would be interested in spending $5,000 and I told him it was way over our price range. But he gave me other discounts and then it came down to a price that I felt was good. He gave me a really good deal and if I could do it the next day, they'd give me a better deal. I went for it and it was a very short turnaround. Also, I told him that we're selling the place and I needed something that's gonna look good and stand up. He took that into consideration and he didn't try to upsell me to do anything. He listened to me. The fellow who came in the next day and took out everything and put in the new carpeting was also very well versed in his job. Empire was efficient, up to date in the market, and has good pricing.

    Everything was good in my experience with Empire Today. I talked to the rep and the rep scheduled me an appointment. He gave me a choice of when he could come, whenever I wanted him to come and he came when I wanted him to come. I told him that that didn't seem like the color that I picked out and the thickness. But once the installer put it in, everybody liked it. It was a darker gray than what I thought it should have been, but in the end, it still turned out good. I'm still satisfied. Even my kids are more satisfied, because we have another house and we had carpet put in by Empire, so I was trying to get that same thickness, that same color, but it didn't turn out that way. But they said it's still pretty. I would recommend them. I told a friend of mine. I gave him the number, so hopefully he can get his house done.

    I had a very good experience with Empire. I'm very happy. The young lady who came out to measure my floor was very nice and knowledgeable about the product. I purchased the LVP floors and I like that the flooring is easy to clean. It makes the house look bigger, too. I enjoyed their website, as well. I was able to take a picture of my living room and put the flooring in my house so I could see it first. The installers were also very nice. They cleaned up after themselves. I had one issue with the representative, though. They had a coupon that said that if I had my floors done, I would get a $350 discount. But I never got it. Whenever they came to do my floors, they couldn't find the coupon, even though I had printed it out. The people who did my floors were here, but, they don't work in the office and they saw the coupon but the people on the other end never saw it. So, I never got credit for the $350.

    Cost-wise, Empire Today was a little bit cheaper, but the quality is not as good as the other brand I looked into. There are quality issues on the baseboards and they were not very precise in cutting. I had to talk with Empire numerous times and argue with them until they finally offered to come fix it. I said, “Too late. I don't want you in my home. So, you can give me a price cut.” The workers themselves were fine, but their customer service sucks. I still haven't received a price cut. It's been a couple of weeks now.

    In May of 2023 we were convinced by an Empire Flooring salesman to purchase Laminate flooring for 3 bedrooms in our home. We were also sold a ton of lies about everything that the extended warranty would cover if we purchased it, so we did. The extended warranty cost hundreds of dollars extra and we paid $9000 for poor quality flooring in 3 bedrooms. This flooring chips constantly, it's very soft. It has also buckled and pops when you walk on it in the master bedroom in multiple places. We put a request in to have it repaired and we were denied. They came up with multiple reasons they won't cover the repairs, each time telling me something different.

    The repairman told us the flooring should be repaired because it should never buckle like it is. He also said he would have to pay for the flooring himself because he is a contract worker hired by Empire...I have never heard of something like this. Why did they charge us hundreds of dollars for an extended warranty then? Why did the salesman tell us the floors would be repaired if anything at all happened to them? The website brags about any chips, water damage, etc being covered. All LIES!!!! We plan on hiring a lawyer to fight this because they sold us poor quality flooring and refuse to back up the warranty we purchased.

    We like the flooring. However, Empire Today told me that they were gonna put the little thing that goes around the house and they were gonna do it 3.5 inches. But they had only 1 inch, and it looks very cheap. They also told me they were charging me for that. Then they put the one that I had but didn't give me my money back. I called them that day, but the rep said that it wasn't on the projection that they did, but it was. The salesman and supervisor both told me that they were gonna put one that was a little bit shorter than the one that I had, and I agreed on that.
