I had carpet installed on my stairs by Empire Today. The installation went well, and they were really good, and the quality of the carpet was very nice.
The customer experience was fine, except for one issue. When the person came to give us the quote, I clearly told him we wanted the staircase in the family room included. Everything seemed set, but when we called later to confirm, we found out he had never included the staircase in the quote.
Because of that, the price increased significantly, which we weren’t expecting. I understand that mistakes happen and things can be overlooked, but by the time everything was said and done, we probably could have gone with someone else for that price.

Empire Today did my steps and I wanted them to do the entryway. They said that they don’t make money from doing that. The job was $500, and I wanted them to finish the job. I reached out to them and they said they would get back with me and you can tell they’re not interested. I don’t want to do more jobs with them if they drop me like that. There was a lot of back and forth with the pricing, too, and then finally I okayed it. So, that price was good, but the initial one was crazy.

I got several estimates, and Empire was just by far the cheapest. We're a hotel. And we had a hold-up on our end that we have not been able to contract the service. The sales rep was great. He believed his price was going to be the best but that they would work with us if there was something that we felt they could do to lower the price.
There were a variety of things we had talked about, like using the carpet we already had here. But then they gave us an even cheaper quote to install new stuff. They had a lot more products than we thought. We went with one of the cheaper patterns there. But they had an extensive catalog of options we could have used, including stuff we had ourselves already. Overall I’m very satisfied.

Your installers are great: they were honest about problems they encountered (like an uneven floor), careful with the job itself, and great at cleaning up after the job. I score the INSTALLERS 10. Your phone system and customer service are subpar. The order was transmitted inaccurately; the details of the order (materials, color - the variety and quality of the choices I was offered) were low quality or shockingly limited. The job deadlines were missed several times: the order that was finally completed today (3/12/2025) was begun three months ago (December 2024). I WILL NOT use Empire again.

No response, we LVP installed a year and a half ago, first installers sucked, your representative came out and said yep terrible so they redid the living room and hallway, so I called to them come out to check out the kitchen area because it was by the first installers also, they cut corners pieces rising, but your company wants 150.00 to check it, because it's out of warranty so who's to say we have to charge for a new floor, so my friends and family will know what happened.

Do not use this company! We purchased a higher level carpet and this is what it looks like. It took me two months to get a response, only for them to say that they are not going fix their poor install job. Even went as far to say that I would need to pay to have them stretch and fix. If I’m having to pay to fix their install, I’m certainly not going to re-hire the same team who created the issue in the first place.

Very competitive pricing, good selection, sales person was very patient as we took carpet and LVP samples from room to room to see how they look in different areas and lighting. Communication was thorough, and text and email notification of stages and departure/arrival were awesome. It included moving a few heavy pieces of furniture and putting back. The warranty and support plan and getting the better quality carpet pad was worth it. Installers did great with the tricky angles and quarter round placement.

Horrible service... On initial install damaged my baseboards ripping out old floor. After installation there were 3 spots that came up... Took endless calls for them to fix it... Still didn't fix it properly and came up again.... Again endless calls to get them out.. Still couldn't fix it right... Been trying for 2 months to get them to fix it again.

Whole house to be done in 1 day, took 6 weeks and still fighting about price. No communication within company. Promised to do December 20th, did a few rooms, didn’t have enough to finish bedroom. Bathrooms scheduled 5 days later. Came to finish bedroom, still short on product came again after Xmas. House was a mess so no Xmas here. Had to keep moving furniture for workers they told me. Kept bringing wrong trim. Came again another day. Bathroom installed, did it wrong, had to rip up and redo. Constantly uprooting my schedule, stress, etc. warrant I was lied to so I had to fight to cancel it. I’m in late 60s and not happy trying to move heavy furniture. They told me a big project and took longer. I didn’t hire the third party workers, 3 of them. Should have had more workers and lied about the one day install.
They offered me 50.00 for my troubles. Lmao. I had no holiday spirit, no family to enjoy cause the workers came just about every day and hoping to have floor installed but no didn’t have right product. I do not recommend them and have one more floor to do and I will go locally. They tell me working to give me a discount, still waiting. Told me I’m getting over a thousand back, yes, it is my warranty money. I’m getting back what I paid for. Still waiting for my generous discount because of all the problems and stress I incurred. Over two months already and still waiting.

Updated on 03/02/2025: I appreciated the quick reply and what seemed to be a genuine concern of the situation saying they believe in second chances and would I give them (Empire Carpet) "another shot". So I thought that things happen and I will gladly give this another shot. They provided contact info including a customer service email to reach them and I sent a lengthy email summarizing the experience and providing to them the exact measurements and things like the carpet quality I am seeking a couple of color options and that if we agree on the terms I would hire them right then and there and provide a deposit.
I provided to them the dates I would like to get things going. I think I said ASAP. I stated this situation has back my remodel schedule as I need to get this unit re rented. I also included another bid I received from another company the address of the project my full name phone number and email. I wanted them to have as much info as possible so it will hopefully make things quicker and if they were not interested in the job they could reply and let me know.
It's now the end of the 3rd day since sending the email the morning of Feb 27 2025 and no response. I again, called to ask if the email had been received as they provided a general email address and no one I spoke with knew who was in charge to replying to customers and replying to customer's emails or new customers in my case. On their website under Contact Us that they will respond in 1 to 2 business days. It's been 2 days and now it's Saturday Mar 1, again I sent the reply for a second chance at 940am Feb 27th. They are open Saturdays but it's been a full two business days.
I am glad for all of those who had an amazing experience it's why I contacted them in the first place. I wanted to be their new happy customer and leave positive feedback but I've done all I can and nothing is working. Perhaps they pick and choose who they treat well and who they demonstrate they are not interested.
Original Review: Empire Today are the biggest flakes and liars. I am remodeling my home and scheduled three bids from 3 different vendors. Empire was one of the 3. I scheduled the time and date providing my phone number, email and of course the address. They called the day prior to confirm I would be at the location between 1pm and 3pm.
I waited and waited from 1pm to 4pm and no one from Empire showed up. I called and no one answered. It's now the next day and I thought I would find if I had been mistaken about the time/date. The woman who answered was strange polite but strange. I provided my name, address, phone number and email. She asked if I go by a different name. No. Well she said, "It's under a different name so I can't help you." Finally I got the name of my assistant. She then took forever only to tell me their representative didn't show up because he was busy with other customers and that he noted he had called me. He never called, no one from Empire called. No phone call. No voicemail. No email. Nothing. She then has the nerve to ask if I want to reschedule. Why on earth would I do business with a company that behaves this way. There are too many flooring installers to tolerate being treated like this. They are careless, indifferent and unprofessional.
Owen, we always want our customers to be notified as soon as possible if their appointment time needs to be changed or cancelled for any reason, so we’re genuinely sorry to hear about your missed appointment. We know you are upset, however, we believe in second chances. If you are willing to give us another shot, we hope to do right by you. Empire Today uses bait and switch tactics. The flooring product the sales person shows you is not what you get. Empire creates phony names for its products so you can't compare prices and see how absurdly high their prices are. The sales contract is structured so that by the time you find out you have been scammed it is too late. At Empire you pay 33% more than retail for the flooring you get. I made the mistake of believing they were a reputable company because they have been around for a while and their advertisements.
They have been around because they are good con men and thieves. Do your homework! Google says: Reviews for Empire Today are generally negative, with many customers complaining about poor customer service...leading many to advise against using them.Better Business Bureau: Empire Today has a low rating on the BBB with numerous complaints about installation quality and customer service. Reddit: Many threads on Reddit's flooring subreddit discuss negative experiences with Empire Today, with users strongly advising against using them. PLEASE HEED THESE WARNINGS!

I first scheduled a consultation with one of your sales representatives, Thomas **, on November 4, 2024. Mr. ** was professional, knowledgeable, and worked within our budget. During this consultation, he took measurements, took a look under the carpeting, and provided us with a total estimate of $6,426. He did mention that, due to the inability to inspect the area beneath the carpet fully, additional costs might arise for particle board replacement, which he estimated would be around $200. This was acceptable to us, and we proceeded with the next steps, including applying for financing and scheduling the installation for November 18, 2024.
The weekend prior to installation, we made significant preparations, including disassembling our bed and moving furniture, to ensure we were ready for the scheduled work. However, upon the arrival of the installation team, we were informed that Empire contracts out its flooring installation services, which was unexpected. During the walk-through, the team informed us that the particle board would need to be completely replaced with plywood, regardless of the condition of the original particle board, in order to meet Empire’s standards and ensure the warranty would be honored. This change resulted in an additional charge of over $4,000.
This increase in cost was never disclosed during the initial consultation or at any time prior to the day of installation. In fact, Mr. ** had previously confirmed that particle board was sufficient for the project. After I expressed my concern and spoke with Mr. ** on the day of installation, he coordinated with the store manager, and a “discount” of just over $2,000 was offered. However, the lack of transparency regarding this significant price increase is troubling. Had I been informed of this potential cost upfront, I would have considered other local flooring companies, which had provided competitive bids.
Additionally, the installation process itself was subpar. The cleanup was incomplete, with debris such as particle board pieces and padding left on the driveway, and soda cans discarded in the area. Furthermore, after the team left, we noticed damage to the crown molding, which appeared to have been broken during the installation process. Since the installation, we’ve observed several issues, including improperly secured trim and boards that are coming loose.
In an effort to better understand the necessity of using plywood over particle board, I reached out to two local flooring companies, both of which have over 20 years of experience in the industry. They confirmed that particle board is generally acceptable and questioned why Empire insisted on the plywood upgrade. This raises further concerns that I may have been misled into spending more than necessary.
I have also made multiple attempts to resolve this issue through various channels, including submitting a survey (which went unanswered), filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (again with no follow-up), and reaching out via Empire’s official Facebook page, only to be told that someone would be in touch—without any further contact. I would never recommend using Empire. Spend the extra money and go with someone local. They do not care about their customers, lack the ability to acknowledge issues and follow through and in my opinion, are a scam.

I recently had carpeting installed by Empire Today in my living room, hallway, and down the stairs. The sales rep from Empire was very informative and helpful in explaining the different products available. The installation was completed the next day, and the team was punctual and professional. They moved a few pieces of furniture, removed the old carpet, and installed the new one efficiently. I'm very satisfied with the service, rating it a 5 out of 5. I decided to use Empire Today primarily because the salesperson offered a good price, and I believed the flooring quality would be satisfactory. However, I was very unhappy with the vendor who performed the job due to their unprofessional behavior and poor communication. They did not adequately explain the installation process, and I wasn't informed about the need for quarter-round boards throughout my house, which I find displeasing.
I had several issues, including inadequate ventilation during the sanding process, which affected my health and made my cat uncomfortable due to poor handling of the carpet removal process. The language barrier with the vendor also prevented important information from being communicated to me. I was able to contact the area manager and they resolved some of the baseboard issues but I would, as a person, never let the vendor back in my home again. I felt, as a woman, very uncomfortable with them.
On a positive note, the salesman was very pleasant, and I opted for Empire's financing through Synchrony Bank. However, it was unclear that the financing was via a credit card, not a loan, affecting how I managed my payments. Improved clarity on this aspect would greatly benefit future customers. Overall, my experience with Empire Today was disappointing due to these issues.

I had a fantastic experience with Empire Today when they installed laminate flooring in our basement. We considered a few other brands, but we've had positive experiences with Empire in the past. Back in 2004 or 2005, they did our living room and dining room carpet when we were living close to Washington DC, and we were extremely satisfied then as well.
The most recent installation was in Martinsburg, West Virginia, and the workers were exceptional. They invited us to inspect the completed work and offered to help put the furniture back in place, which was a tremendous help. They also made sure to clean up thoroughly, leaving everything neat.
The new flooring has completely transformed our basement, enhancing its appearance significantly. Both times we've used Empire, I've been impressed and would highly recommend them due to their excellent service.
The customer service was excellent, and I found the pricing to be very reasonable, especially since we caught the flooring on sale. The sales process was also smooth, with the salesperson bringing various materials for us to choose from.

My experience with Empire Today was far from satisfactory. I had initially wanted new flooring in my house and selected carpet, but the service I received was appalling. When the crew came to remove the old carpet, which smelled terrible, they simply left it in my yard, refusing to haul it away as promised in the contract. They claimed it smelled too bad, which was ironic since I had endured it for three weeks! The salesman mentioned a $50 refund due to this oversight, but I never received anything.
To make matters worse, the installers used my non-functioning bathroom and left a mess, which I discovered afterward. Not only was the commitment to the contract not fulfilled, but I was also offered a $200 gift card for a positive review, which I declined. When it comes to the product quality, the carpet itself is decent, especially considering it was not top-of-the-line. I recently had luxury vinyl plank installed in my kitchen and vinyl in two of my small bathrooms by Empire Today. My experience with them has been positive since they were professional and responsive. They were quick to schedule the installation, coming out within 24 to 48 hours, and I didn’t have to call them back for any repairs.
The installation covered three areas: two bathrooms and a kitchen. I felt great about the quick process and efficiency. Although it's early to comment on the wear of the product, I'm very happy with how the flooring looks and how it was installed. The salesperson was attentive and recommended products based on our interests, which I appreciated.

I had a frustrating experience with Empire Today. I had vinyl planks installed in three areas of my home: the dining room, kitchen, and breakfast area. However, I later discovered that they skipped the demolition process and simply laid the planks on top of the existing tile. This poor installation led to issues, as evidenced when one of the planks popped up.

They initially led with a promotion that wasn't provided, which I find to be a waste of time. As someone in sales, I believe honest and straightforward pricing from the get-go is more effective.
In terms of service, I knew the representative from previous work relationships who gave me straight pricing. But this time, the price was initially inflated only to be brought back down, which was a frustrating experience for me.
Despite these issues, Empire Today made things right, and my overriding sentiment is positive as my mom's satisfaction matters the most. Overall, I'd rate my experience with them highly since it turned out satisfactory in the end. They seemed to be up-front about everything once I got to the process of going through getting the right value. The installers, in particular, worked very hard and deserved commendation for their efforts.

I recently had Empire Today install vinyl flooring that looks like tile in my home. The initial purchase process was quite frustrating. We visited their Mays Landing location to review samples and brought some home. However, it turned out the samples wouldn't work due to our uneven flooring. We ended up returning those and getting different ones that were eventually installed. The sales process left much to be desired. I financed with Avalon Flooring but was upset to find a charge hit my account one or two weeks before delivery, which was not disclosed upfront. This affected the first year of no financing charges, making it less beneficial than initially promised. Additionally, I was not informed that subcontractors would handle the installation, as I believed Empire Today had their own team.
Though installation occurred earlier than expected, there are issues I have yet to address. There's a persistent problem with the transition point between our kitchen and dining room, as well as what seems to be rushed work in the bathroom, evident from the brown caulking instead of the expected white. Moreover, while the process was promised to take just one day, it spanned two because of insufficient materials, requiring my husband to take an additional day off work.

I recently had carpet installed by Empire Today in my living room and overall, the experience was really positive. I had considered other companies before choosing Empire, and I found that their prices were a bit lower compared to others. The sales representative who visited my home was excellent, taking his time to explain all the pricing, textures, quality options, and warranties available.
On the installation day, everything went smoothly. The two installers were very professional and completed everything in about three hours. I'm really pleased with the quality of the work. My favorite features of the new carpet are the texture and how it feels underfoot.
For maintenance, I was advised on the warranties and instructed not to use regular carpet cleaners. Most stains should clean up easily, except for some tough ones like red wine or blood. Based on this experience, I'd definitely recommend Empire Today to friends or neighbors.

I recently had flooring installed by Empire Today and the experience was quite positive. I decided to go with Empire after considering other companies, mainly because, although the quality from others was a bit higher, Empire was much more affordable.
I had carpet done upstairs in my house, throughout the whole upstairs, and LVP on the main floor. The sales representative who visited us was fantastic. She was helpful with measurements, discussed our options, showed us samples, and worked with our budget.
The installation was a smooth process. The team came in and did the LVP on the main floor, which involved moving some furniture and removing existing materials like a bit of hardwood in the foyer, some tile in the mudroom, and old carpeting in other rooms. They even installed a subfloor and applied a self-leveling compound where necessary. The crew worked quickly and did a good job, consulting me whenever there were changes needed.
The quality of work was impressive, and the interaction with the installation team was professional. I had no issues at all. I would rate my experience a five out of five, and I would recommend Empire Today to friends and family, especially for carpet installation.

I recently had a visit from a representative of Empire today to get an estimate for carpet installation. The salesman was new but very personable and friendly. However, I was surprised by the high-pressure sales tactic that required me to make a purchase decision on the spot. This approach was unlike other companies I've worked with, where estimates are valid for a period, like 30 to 90 days, allowing me to decide at my own pace.
Despite the representative’s friendliness and his efforts to assist, the experience left me dissatisfied as it felt similar to the pressure often felt when buying a car. Additionally, the pricing from Empire was significantly higher compared to other estimates we received, being almost twice as much. Consequently, we did not proceed with Empire today for our carpet needs. Overall, while the representative’s customer service was commendable, the overall experience with Empire today was disappointing due to their aggressive sales method and pricing.

I strongly urge anyone considering Empire Today for their flooring needs to think twice. My experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. I purchased LVP flooring from Empire Today after Bernard, their incompetent and seemingly untrained sales rep assured me that my cabinets could be installed on top of the flooring. However, the day before installation, I was told the exact opposite—that the cabinets needed to be installed first. Despite the inconvenience, I arranged for my cabinets to be installed.
A week later, Empire’s installers arrived and immediately declared they couldn’t install the LVP on top of the existing hardwood floors, contradicting everything I’d been told. They said the hardwood had to be removed, adding an unexpected $3,000 to the cost—an expense I refuse to pay. Empire Today has been completely unwilling to work with me to resolve this situation, leaving me stuck with a mess and no solution. Their lack of communication, misleading sales practices, and refusal to take responsibility for their mistakes are unacceptable. If you value transparency, reliability, and professionalism, look elsewhere for your flooring needs. Empire Today has proven to be anything but reliable.

They left a huge mess of carpet fibers all over my lawn, put heavy furniture back in the wrong places, walked on my new carpet with wet boots, and there are seams in the middle of rooms and the hallway. It looks like they used remnants instead of room size carpet rolls. Empire's customer service is awful. I have left dozens of messages and nobody calls me back. Empire is horrible - think twice before hiring this company. I hired Empire for flooring on the downstairs of my home. The sales rep, Bob ** came out to my house. Did all the measurements. Examined all the furniture that I had in the three rooms that were going to be floored, including a propane heating stove on the first floor. The total cost of the job was $6300. I paid half of that for the deposit and the Installers came out in mid-December to do the work. The crew that arrived consisted of three men only. One barely spoke English. They did a horrible job. The job took two days to complete - on the first day we went out to dinner at 5 PM, the installers were still working. When we returned home at about 9 PM we found the front door opened, food left on the floor, open bottles of soda and the place was a mess. The next morning, a different crew arrived. I asked where the original crew was and the guy said they could not make it.
I contacted the sales rep. He never responded. These guys were even worse than the first crew, they did a really bad job. They broke my propane heating stove, which I now have to have repaired. Some of the planking is coming up and they left the place a mess. I contacted Empire and received a call from Alysa **, this woman was extremely rude, unprofessional, and even though I sent her all the pictures she refused to accept responsibility that Empire did a horrible job. I called my credit card company and stopped payment on half the amount of the job. My next step is to sue Empire. Do not use them. They use migrant workers who do not speak English and it makes it so much more difficult to communicate.

My sister hired them for our house. When you call for the first time to schedule an appointment, someone will answer the call, and they will show up to give you an estimate. You have to pay in advance, and you have three days to cancel. The sales person that shows up does not have a clue on the install, they will call an installer when you have a question, then tell you what you want to hear, even lying about how your floor will be installed.
After the three days are up, you’re not even able to talk to a person, unless you say you want an initial consultation, then you get the call service and no one will call you back. They are like hiring a general contractor to build your house, they go with the cheapest installer and there’s nothing you can do about it. You’re better off going with a company in your hometown, where you can walk in the door and talk to someone in person. It states on their website, make sure everyone that would have a question is there on the initial day, there is a reason they state that!

The WORST company ever!! They take your signature from signing a credit card receipt and apply it to a contract that has all boxes checked they want. That is totally illegal! I was not shown, told about, given, and certainly did not sign a contract. But this is not even a contract issue. We had carpet installed in a vacant apt. After it was installed we found out the closet doors no longer fit and the front door would only open if you pushed really hard about half way! The installer told me to just cut the doors! I told him that was not and option! I was working in another apartment while it was being installed and he could have come to me and told me there was a problem but he waited until completely finished and basically said it wasn’t his problem.
I had a tenant moving in the following week and NO ONE would help me. They keep telling me my contract says…. The one I wasn’t shown and didn’t sign… And this should not even be a contract issue anyway! Who puts in carpet and leaves without being able to put back closet doors or open the front door all the way!!! And again, no one cared! An actual sales manager was in the apt and saw the carpet that was there but proceeded to tell sales rep which pad to install. We own 5 apartment buildings and NEVER has anything like this happened.
This company does not stand behind anything they do! They HIDE behind a contract you don’t even know about or sign. I swear that everything I am saying is true! And I’m still waiting to try to get them to help before I am forced to hire my own installer to come fix this so I can let the new tenant move in. They are also not very smart business people because we were looking for a new carpet company and tried them. They have now lost potentially tens of thousands of dollars in future business. Also. I can’t verify purchase because they never sent a receipt!!

I had the more expensive hardwood flooring installed, not the artificial one, so it was a lot of money. It's solid compared to the hardwood floors in the house which are wobbly. This is completely stable. I was very pleased with the team from Empire Today. The guys were extremely efficient and fast and paid attention to each detail. They were polite and nice people. They did a good job and I could not have been more pleased with them. I’ve never seen anybody work so efficiently in the way they moved the furniture and how they cleaned up. They have to leave the material in front of the house. They even cleaned up the leaves of the autumn. They were amazing. However, while departing, they asked me to note that since there's always a small difference in height between the existing hardwood floor and where they put the new ones, they have this little ledge that they put in. When they put the new ledge, the door did not close.
The installers cannot cut the door down because if something happens to the door, they are responsible for it and have to pay for it. I could not be angry at them because they were explaining that it is the company that doesn't allow them to do it. This is a policy that the company has to address because they have to advise the owner that this could happen or find a solution where the ledge is not needed or something has to be done. I could have been needing to rent my house as an Airbnb during the work, and I could not have done it, because I would have been left for a week with the bedroom without a door. Luckily, I have a neighbor who’s an architect and we were able to solve it without paying extra money.
I understand that this could happen. But you more or less know what the height of the door is and where the frame is. There's a way that any carpenter takes out the piece that is missing and replaces it with the bottom part of it. Any carpenter knows how to do it. So, the personnel has to be trained and authorized to do it. But the idea that an employee has to pay up his own money if something goes wrong is not a good policy.

But when it came to the appointment time and when the installers were supposed to come, they were late for almost two hours. Then, when they did finally come, one of them ripped up my old carpet and then said that they don't have enough carpet. I asked him if he did not notice that they didn't have enough carpet when he ripped up my carpet. I have a two-year-old and a three-year-old and underneath the carpet, there are staples or something and I don't want them to step on them. He ripped up the carpet and left everything else uncovered.
I had to call them back because they hadn't rescheduled me. Also, I notified them that I was missing a book bag out of my house that had appeared that went missing. I was supposed to have spoke to a manager. I left a message and they told me 48 hours but I never talked to a manager. I called again to say, "Hey, my property is ripped up. I have two kids. This is becoming an inconvenience." I started expressing that I was frustrated. In order for me to get something done, I reached out to the lady that initially came out to show me the carpet.
They ended up sending a second group out. The second group was very pleasant. They asked who put the padding down that goes underneath and I said it was the guys that came in first. They said the padding was upside down. The guy fixed it and showed me the things that he did. This experience was over a year ago and I still haven't spoken to a manager. They didn't even say that they were partially refunding me my money. There was an item missing from out of my house but nothing. I ended up disputing it. But because the services was completed, I had to pay them out. I would tell others to stay in constant communication when booking with them and whatever issues that they do have, make sure to reach out immediately because it takes them a while to get back to you.

They kept the dust to a minimum and reviewed how to take care of the flooring.

We would recommend Empire Today and would use them again. We have used them several times over the years. Most recently, to replace some carpet in the steps and in the upstairs hallway. The quality is good. We installed the same thing in another part of the house. It's what we expected. We estimated what the cost would be before the person came out and it was what we thought it would be.

I like that they communicate updates via email. They're very good at hitting the days that they say they're gonna be there also. However, they do not use our system, which is required for all of our vendors. But it's somebody above me that's working with them to get used to uploading the system. They upload photos and I've seen a few work orders where they have uploaded photos. But sometimes I've gotta reach out, chase people down, to get photos. But the quality is there for the most part.

I’ve gotten my flooring from Empire Today in the past 30 years. This time, I got vinyl. I'm waiting for someone to call me concerning the floors for my warranty. It seemed like they were coming up a little bit in the master bedroom. They were not popping up. but you feel it loosening up. It could be the house shifting but I still want them to come out and check it out. I thought the warranty was out and had I known better, I would not have waited that long. The flooring downstairs could have been installed better. But I still love Empire. The first time I got carpet, I didn’t know better back then. When the other people came to do the upstairs flooring, they went underneath the radiators. The other installers told me their hands couldn’t fit. But they were here to do a job and they should have gotten someone with smaller hands. Other than the two glitches, I've never had a problem with Empire.

Empire Today was affordable and their product looked like it was quality flooring. I bought the LVP and the rep who helped me was very informative, nice, and professional. The installation was good and it is a high-quality floor. But when I bought my floors, I had to put down a 50% deposit, which doesn't make sense. As long as I pay before the installation, I shouldn't have to put a deposit in.

I've been working in this industry for about three years now. They've gone through several sales reps. The gentleman I work with now, John, he's actually local here. The other two reps that I dealt with, they weren't even in this area. So, when he took over, and he was actually local in this area, he came out and introduced himself. We kind of spoke, went over some of the needs and requirements and expectations that we want. And so, that's how that relationship kind of formed. So we try to get ourselves on the same page and it worked out, so far.

I was guaranteed over and over that they have plenty of our carpet choice in stock. Available next day. I couldn't count how many times I was told that. So I called about a week out from when we wanted installation, picked a date, paid the deposit, got everything ready to go. All of our employees vacated their offices, moving computers, desks, files, etc. for Rich to give me a call at 3pm the day before delivery to tell me they didn't have the carpet, and they had no idea when they would get it. I wasn't available, he didn't leave a message, he didn't try to contact me in any other way. Just hey let Lauren know that I called, which I assumed was a confirmation call. I called in the morning to see where the crew was, and imagine my surprise that there's no carpet. No crew. UNBELIEVABLE. I will NEVER call your company again, and I would make sure to go out of my way to tell others the same.
Lauren, we always aim to deliver a great experience and are gutted when we don’t meet expectations. Thanks for taking the time to bring this to our attention. We will use this feedback to improve and ensure this doesn’t happen again.

We had an appointment to have Empire come out install carpet and laminate flooring. I decided to go with empire because 40 years ago my neighborhood carpet by Empire and it was beautiful and it was done. The installation was absolutely fantastic. I made a grave grave mistake. I contacted the Better Business Bureau and General attorney I have to seek a lawyer. I don’t live in a home but we have a beautiful mobile home that my husband bought us back in 2007 and it’s beautiful with.
I’ve taken such good care of it since he died when I walked out of the house before the installer came, my walls in my living room were beautiful. We just had it repainted back in two years before my husband passed. It was $1000. It is a mobile home so you have to have to hire someone who knows what they’re doing in mobile home different than walls in a home and a regular home they sent a Mexican who couldn’t speak English to install the carpet. I have a large driveway and I realized I I made sure the house was empty. We took all our furniture out of our home so he could have room to work.
My walls in my living room are absolutely spotless. They were beautiful. There wasn’t a smudge in a hole or anything on my walls they were. It was a beautiful ivory, when I walked out that day to go to my daughters to stay there while they were installing the carpet and the flooring was absolutely devastated when I came home and saw my walls. They sent a **, who could not speak any English at all we had to translate off phone. He didn’t even know he was supposed to start in the master bedroom and lay carpet. He had no idea he took the carpet out of the truck and laid it out in the street. We live on the main drag car is going up and down he laid on the filthy street. It was covered in leaves and dirt as he brought it in the house, they ** because they were cheap. They had no there was only one seller and that was the ** who could not speak any English at all. He damaged all my walls.
Wall in my living room has been damaged down to the drywall holes in the drywall and some of the paper wallpaper has been damaged terribly at all has to be the walls have to be replaced and all he was able to say when he left was he was sorry and walked out. We contacted Empire immediately and they said they would get back with us right away we were to take pictures.
I would’ve preferred that someone from the company would’ve come into my home and went into my living room and saw the damage that this man did to my walls entrusted empire, we gave them our business interested in with our home my home we even a gentleman that came out and gave us the estimate to get this started. We picked out and brought the samples we picked out very good carpet. It was expensive over $4000 when I came home and saw my living room floor and we never heard back from Empire. I called them never heard back asked to speak to corporate. They wouldn’t give me a number to contact corporate. I wasn’t gonna give up I’m 71 years old but I this is my home and I take very good care of my home. I don’t care if it was a shed in the woods, this was my home and took care of my home after my husband passed. There wasn’t one flaw on those walls not even a nail hole.
I called corporate and corporate called today. 14th of November, and I reached someone in corporate. I was hysterical when he had the nerve to tell me that the carpet installer sent him pictures and they accepted the pictures not my daughter's pictures of the true damage on the walls. He said he saw no damage he was covering his you know covering his butt, I can’t believe this is happening. We trusted Empire to come out and lay flooring and carpet with my home and he damaged my living room and they’re trying to make it go away. I can’t I have a lawyer but I called the attorney general and they’re going to intercede and try to help us Except for them to write a check for us to cover the damage. It was sent to the walls and be able to pay someone to come in and re-drywall the walls and find someone to come and paint the walls.
We cannot enjoy the holidays. We cannot celebrate the holidays in my home we cannot. I am leaving. I am presently staying with my youngest daughter and my daughter is staying with her daughter. We can’t even go home, they didn’t accept my daughter, but they accepted the carpet accepted from the installer that damaged the walls what what would that say to anyone? It’s in black-and-white I won’t give up. I don’t want anything from them. I don’t want. I don’t want a large amount of money. I only want them to pay for the damage. It was done to my living room. I cannot afford to have someone come in and re-drywall my walls or paint and it’s up to Empire. It’s up to the company to give us a resolution to this problem. Installer did this and they must be accountable for this.
I’m writing this review to let someone to let people out there know I know there’s a lot of people that have had excellent results with empire, but I believe if you live in an upscale neighborhood in a beautiful ranch home or whatever I believe that most people will have positive and great results but we live in a mobile home community is my mobile home and it is beautiful. It was until the carpet installer came in and caused all that damage and now he’s trying to cover his butt and the companies trying to cover for him. They don’t even want to step up and take responsibility for what they’ve done.
I’m letting people know what happened to me. I’m sure there are a lot of people out there have great empire when we moved in that mobile home and we special order our mobile home when they brought it in my neighbor next-door to me had empire lake car, but that was 40 years ago. I just assumed if we went with Empire I had no idea that, the company is company they hired. I know they hired this **. They work for cheap labor, not prejudice didn’t even know he was supposed to start in the master bedroom we had to. Translate on my iPhone a palled I’m devastated.
We aren’t even celebrating the holidays in my home this year. My furniture can’t even be moved in as I said my daughter staying with her daughter. I’m staying with my youngest daughter. This is no way to live. I’m 71 years old and I’m sick over this, I thought it was odd that empire didn’t reach out in contact us right away. We sent the pictures but they didn’t. They didn’t accept those pictures. They only accepted the pictures from the installer that did the damage and what does that say I’m just putting my let people know what Unless of course you live in a upscale neighborhood don’t go with empire. Never, never choose empire.
I’m not gonna give up. I’m gonna stand on these two legs and I’m gonna roll over. I’m gonna stand on my old legs and I’m gonna fight. I’m going to fight I’m not gonna give up. They’re going to fix someone from going to write us a check, and someone’s gonna pay us to get the wall in the living room fixed so we can go back to living in our home and living a normal life again happy normal life. It’s been devastating. My daughter is depressed. I’m upset. I can’t sleep. This is a truth. They’re trying to say that the damage was already done to the walls before the carpet installer came, I knew I had a gut feeling.
This was gonna happen when they never reached out to us right away as they said they would we called them immediately after he left and I’ve been trying desperately for almost 2 weeks to reach out and now I realize what they’re trying to do, I’m gonna get a resolution from an attorney, but Attorney General said not to do anything within. They’re going to intercede for us and they’re going to help us. I hope that that is true. I desperately hope that is true that they’re going to intercede and they’re going to help us.
All I want is for them to pay my walls Fixed and have my living room walls repainted we also brought over my next-door neighbor remodels homes. He’s a contractor he was devastated as well. He could not believe what they had done. He also said that you will normally have scuffs or little marks but nothing like that the neighbor on the other side of me works for Dutch Valley Paints, she came over and she said we have to get estimates and we’re gonna go from there but I’m just letting you know my home flooring
Did to my home I have it. It’ll be 20 years. I’ve had this mobile home next, next year in May and it’s in pristine condition and it’s in immaculate condition. Doesn’t even look like it’s 20 years old until this happened tread lightly before you hire empire it’s not the company that was 40 years ago, and they Won’t step up and take responsibility for what they’ve done

Empire claims they have trained, certified technicians. They do not. First crew to show up couldn't do 60% of the installation because they didn't know how to lay the grouted tile. Salesman royally screwed up the work order and they were unprepared for what they were supposed to do. 5 men on the crew and only one spoke broken English. Told me he needs a good review so he can get more work through Empire. I'm guessing they have no actual trained technicians and just contract out to the lowest bidder while charging you top dollar for installation. Probably why they strongly suggest hiding your valuables while the crew is there (which I thought was odd well before the crew showed up).
Day 1 crew was polite, and the work looks good, but it's installation issues down the road I'm concerned with. Second day and a crew of only two people show up to do some 650ft of tile installation with grout. Again, out of town crew and only one installer speaks broken English. Most likely will cost me another day of work. as they've been here over 8 hours and aren't even halfway done.
**What bothered me the most was that in NOT ONE PLACE in any email or the Pre-installation requirements video do you ever mention toilets. I disconnected the sink and the washer hook-ups to be nice even though I specifically asked the salesman about the bathroom work and I was told "they'll take care of it all"... They did not. I had to go downstairs and remove it myself around all their construction mess and carry it across the brand new flooring installed the day prior. It's not having to remove it that bothers me, it's that I asked and was told not to worry about it. Therefore, if they don't finish today, I'm without a toilet for 24 hours, as they haven't even begun the bathroom work yet. Again, could've been totally prepared for it had I not asked about it and been given false info to make the sale.

Service mgr Scott reached out to me later this day & did exactly what needed to be done to restore my faith in Empire. All the folks I interacted with have been pleasant and helpful so I'm not sure where the previous breakdown in communication occurred. Nonetheless, this was made right & the carpet has now been replaced. Installers worked diligently and completed in 1 day, cleaned up afterwards - a much better experience than the initial install.

I have been waiting all day for Empire carpet installers to show up for warranty replacement supposedly scheduled for today 11/6/24. I received confirmation that the warranty replacement would be completed today Nov. 6th and much time was spent packing up in preparation & alternate work arrangements were made only to have no installers show up and no call back from anyone from Empire. I contacted customer service this morning & was told my ticket was escalated and a Patrick would call me. Rep also stated several times that the installers would still arrive today as scheduled. Neither has happened.
The rep Nick ** who brought samples & took measurements at my house Oct. 7, 2024 confirmed several times over the past weeks that the replacement installation was scheduled for today Nov. 6th. Months of correspondence with Hayley ** who confirmed the warranty replacement approval. This has been more than a major inconvenience & needs to be made right.

I ordered new carpeting for my entire house, and I bought the best padding and carpeting that was available from Empire. I had three separate install dates; because, I was recarpeting the entire house. The first install went well, it was all done correctly. The second install they had a bunch of problems getting everything ordered right and installing the correct people to put my carpeting in so they gave me another discount maybe that's why the second carpet that installed was the incorrect carpeting. It was only half as thick as the carpeting I originally ordered.
Unfortunately, I did not notice this until after it was installed and walked on it. I have a couple extra pieces and was able to physically see the difference as well. I have had an absolute horrible time having anyone call me back, days are turning into weeks, and I'm still waiting for managers to call me back!! I still have a whole entire upstairs to carpet yet. I thought I was getting the best because I was going with Empire, but I am extremely disappointed and very frustrated to say the least.

We had carpet installed in 2018 and at the beginning it looked good but not too long it starts to roll up in every room. It's supposed to be high quality carpet so I'm thinking it's probably due to how it was installed and likely not enough slack was taken out. I reached out to the company a while ago and nothing so I figured I'd post my finding here. We almost didn't go with them because the sales guy was rude to my wife but the manager convinced us to go with them. Here's some pictures of the rolls which is in every room and hallway.
Update 10/15/2024: I got an email saying they would contact me within 3 business days. Well, 3 business days have passed, and nothing. This is what happened last time I reached out to them. Update 10/17/2024: I got online with a recorded person who essentially told me I'd have to pay for a carpet restretch. They don't want to attempt to make it right; they want to just get you on the phone to record you. I wouldn't do business with this company at all. They won't even assess the situation. Don't give these people your money!

I've used Empire before twice and been very satisfied. This time we are experiencing major difficulties with their business office. We live in a condo and Empire knows this means they need to submit a COI before they can install. Salesman assured us this would be dealt with and spoke with our condo manager himself. Day of installation -- no COI, salesperson not reachable.
Called Empire in a panic and was told, they could get a COI in 24 hrs, no other options. Asked for manager who was pleasant and said she'd get us to a manager in our area who could help, Lamont. He said he'd check and call us back but never did. Empire cancelled and rescheduled installation. 24 hrs later, not a word from the company, no COI. Called and was told our ticket had been closed. No one had done a thing on COI, and no one was doing anything. The most they could do is re-open another ticket, again, with no promise of even a call back for 24 hrs. Super disappointed because we've always had good experiences with Empire before.

**Warning: Do Not Use Empire Today – You'll Regret It Every Minute!** My experience with Empire Today has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I feel compelled to share my story to help others avoid the same fate. From the moment I placed my order, the red flags began to wave, and I quickly realized that I had made a grave mistake.
First and foremost, the customer service is abysmal. I found myself in a cycle of frustration trying to reach their representatives. Despite multiple calls to customer service, I was met with endless hold times and unanswered calls. It's disheartening when you desperately need assistance, and the company you trusted to provide quality service vanishes when you need them the most.
The product itself was a huge letdown. I received flooring that was not only inferior but also demonstrably defective. It’s incredible that such a poorly made product is allowed on the market. After paying thousands of dollars, I was left with damaged flooring that was beyond repair. The deception is palpable; they sell a product that simply should not exist, and you’re left to deal with the consequences.
What really adds insult to injury is the utter lack of communication from Empire Today. Attempts to set up an appointment for repairs or to discuss the damages were met with silence. It's as if the company has no regard for the customers who invest their hard-earned money into their products. Instead of resolving issues, you're left feeling stranded with a defective and unusable product, surrounded by the remnants of what was supposed to be a beautiful enhancement to your home.
In conclusion, I highly advise against using Empire Today. Save yourself the heartache, stress, and financial burden that comes with their shoddy products and terrible customer service. My experience has been a lesson learned, and I hope sharing my story can help others avoid a similar disaster. Buy wisely, and consider other options that will provide you with the quality and service you deserve.

But I was never told that I was supposed to make some sort of payment every month, which wouldn't have been a problem. The rep said to us to just pay it off when we sell our townhouse, which we still haven't done. So they have to be a little clearer. When I got a bill with a charge on it, I called Empire and they were very nice. They took it off because I explained that I was never told that I had to make a minimum payment. Other than that, everything was fine. The flooring looks very nice and Empire was very easy to work with.

I had gotten quotes from other local installers and local people who had installed in our friends’ places and we were going to go ahead with the lowest one, where we had the reference and it seemed like they had done a good job at our friend's place. But I had already called Empire also to get an estimate and the salesperson came in before we went with the other vendor. He gave us a better deal and offered to beat the other quotes that were given so we ended up hiring Empire Today. But when the installer came, even when we called the manager, they did not honor the quote. We had to pay $3,000 extra on top of that. The installers had already removed our carpet and flooring so if we had not hired them, then we would have to wait and get another one and it would have been a mess. Thankfully, we had that much money. For people who don't have it, it's gonna be a real pain.
The price-matching does not seem to be a real thing. It was just a sale gimmick. From the price perspective, we were frustrated and not happy with the ultimate charges that were charged to us. But the installers did an amazing job. They installed the flooring perfectly and within three days. They cleaned up everything afterward. So we were happy with the service but not with the charges. We got the laminate floor installed all over, removing the vinyl and the carpet. So far, it's good and we are liking it. When we had installed it, they mentioned that if anything happened to the flooring, the replacement would be covered completely, including the service and parts. But I'm not sure looking at the price guarantee. I don't know whether it will be honored.

The sales rep was friendly but I wish he would have brought more samples of potential products I could have had put in the kitchen. At first, he quoted me a price that seemed pretty high. Then he called his boss and had him on speaker phone the whole time, which made me think it was preplanned. Why would you put a call with your boss on speaker, not knowing what he was gonna say unless it wasn't prearranged? Then he quoted a lower price to make me think I was getting a great deal.
Another thing I didn't like about the process was they made you pay half upfront before the installer even came out, which is fair because I've had other things done in the home where you pay half upfront to cover materials, but I had to pay the other half when the installer got there before they even started the process. I've had lots of other things done around my home. I've had new roof put on and a porch built, and none of these people have ever made me pay the entire cost upfront without seeing the final product.
They sent out one guy for an installation that seemed at least a two-person job. He got there at 7:30 a.m. and didn't leave till 6:00. He worked really hard. He only took one 10-minute break the whole day. The sales guy had told me, “Your installer is gonna give you a certificate of completion on his phone to sign. Do not sign that if you're not happy with it.” I signed it because it was awkward to look into the guy's eyes, who's busted his butt all day, and tell him the job wasn't good. Plus, I didn't look at the flooring as in depth as I would in the next coming days.
Then I started looking at the planks whenever I would go in the kitchen. The planks were installed correctly, but all the lines where the planks met up were on this weird diagonal that made it look like an optical illusion. I had buddies come over and they said the same thing. I called Empire and scheduled them to send someone out to fix it. I'm a teacher and I had it all planned out. I had a substitute for the day. But my substitute canceled, so I had to cancel. I thought of waiting till summer break to get it situated. Summer break came and I called customer service again. I got everything taken out of the kitchen again. In the meantime, they've been asking me to send all these different photographs of the floor so they could see it and have their “experts” look at it. Some of them couldn't see the problem at all but the others did. It was almost like they didn't wanna accept complete blame and they never did.
I asked them not to send out the same guy who originally did it. But on the day of the rescheduled fix, the same guy showed up at 7:30. He started measuring everything and came to the conclusion that the reason that the installation was not right was because some of the walls in the kitchen aren't straight. I have a 1920s house, but it's been remodeled and updated. He said, "I can maybe fix this one row of planks in the laundry room.” I said, “If you can't fix it all, there's no point." He left after 20 minutes. I called customer service again. I said, “This is ridiculous. I told you not to even send that guy out again.” They said, “Sorry, we didn't know we were gonna do that.” There's not a lot of communication between customer service and the people they send out. When they sent this guy out, he had no idea what even he was coming out for the second time because nobody ever told him.
Then Empire said they were gonna send out their expert guy. He came out a couple days later. He did all this measuring again and came to the same conclusion. The walls aren't straight. He said, "I'm gonna go back to the office and do some sketches. I'm gonna try to figure out a way we can redo this so that it minimizes the effect.” That was on Thursday and he told me he'd call me by the next Tuesday. Tuesday came but he didn't call. A customer service guy called and told me the expert came to the conclusion that there was no way that they could fix it. He said, “We can give you a discount and have the whole floor redone with a different laminate.” I asked, "How much is the discount gonna be for? I don't want you guys to come out and waste everybody's time.” He said he couldn't tell me how much it was and I had to wait till the guy came out.
They sent out the original salesman again. He acted like he had no idea what was going on. Either he was playing dumb or no one's ever told him. This time, he brought completely different samples than the first time. He said they could do it for half the cost of the original. I did it again and paid another 2,000. The original install was 4,500. I'm furious with myself for paying this, but I couldn't live with the kitchen the way it was. It was terrible.
They scheduled the new install and this time, they came out with three people. Again, the people they sent out had no idea about all the stuff that was going on. They had no idea about the measured wall so I was having to explain everything again. They started doing the kitchen. Then they brought me in and asked how did it look. I told them the kitchen looked good. Then they did the laundry room. I was annoyed because they didn't call me in to check if the laundry room was also good. The laundry room is still not done correctly but I just sent them away. I was done by then. They left nails all over the back patio too.

They never fixed it because they said they didn't do it. But it wasn't like that before they came. I didn't like what they did about the wiring but they did a good job in laying the carpet. When they did the carpet upstairs in my bedrooms, I had a real big problem with the person who came out to give me the estimate. The installers came at 12:00, but they didn't get started on the job until 2:30 because the person who came out to tell me about the job ended up telling me he had a lot of other customers and he didn’t need my business. I paid the money already, but it was something about them not switching it over from Luna to Empire, and they had 10 days to do that.

When they showed up to do the job, they had no flooring that was even close to matching and then wouldn’t return my down payment of $3000. Scammed!!!! They could not do the work until three days after I signed the contract, which then made the down payment return void. So they kept the money without doing any work or product?

We considered other companies but Empire's price was lower and the whole entire process was better. On installation day, they came over to the house and moved everything that needed to be moved, which was everything. They took out the red shag carpet, laid the new flooring down, and put everything back. They were done in a day and that, to me, was unbelievable. And the new flooring is beautiful. If someone's gonna get carpeting, online is the easiest way to do it. Empire Today's presentation was really good too. The sales rep had plenty of samples and went over everything in detail. I had carpeting installed in two rooms and it took one day. It didn't start off very well ‘cause the installers didn't know which carpet I ordered, and they may have installed the wrong one. I couldn't remember if the carpet was the one that I chose or not, and I looked forever for the paper for the carpet I ordered, but I couldn't find it. The installers should have known off the bat what carpet I ordered. I was assuming that the carpet would come here already marked, but the installers had to have me come out in the truck to pick it out, which I thought was not very good. They had carpet back there wrapped up with different names on it, some that I went over with them. One installer also spoke hardly any English.
When the sales rep went over the part about the restretching, I was informed that was an additional fee. I thought, “Well, how long is it gonna be before it needs restretching?” However, a couple of weeks after the carpet was installed, I noticed a little ridge forming in the carpet in the bedroom. I knew it was gonna cost me to do the restretching, so I didn't even bother with it. I never knew it would be buckling that soon.

The sales rep was very friendly and nice. I'd give him a 10. I had laminate installed in the den, and installation was good too. Empire Today was supposed to come and remove the tiles underneath, but they didn't because it would have been a mess. The tiles underneath were the mosaic ones wherein they break up pieces of tiles and put grout over it. They said it would've been too big of a job to do and couldn't do it, so they just put the laminate flooring over it. We had sticky back tiles on over it and they took that up. The job came out really nice, and I love it. It's level, and my favorite is it looks really good. I told all my friends it's beautiful and showed them pictures.

They got here for my appointment and the guy said, "That flooring, actually, doesn't fall under the promotion." I said, "We specifically discussed that. Working with Empire has been my biggest regret. I have never had such terrible customer service especially after spending so much money with them. I got LV flooring done back in 21'. Within that 1st year they was lifting and buckling. They sent people out 2 times with the same answer "I don't know what is causing it" so they would take the flooring out and lay it back down. Well now it is lifting again in that same spot and also in 6 other spots and since it is out of warranty they want to say it is due to the cleaning products I am using.
Mind you I have used these same cleaning products since the beginning and submitted them for review 3 years ago. I was told back then that it is not the cleaning products but now all the sudden it is the cleaning products. Along with holes they left in my baseboards and not installing the baseboards that I asked and paid for they have been the biggest headache. DO NOT use them if you want your floors to last. They will do anything to scam you out of your money and then find any excuse to not make things right when their terrible work and products fail!! WORST EXPERIENCE

The product that the Empire salesman swore was "bullet-proof" is awful. The product is buckling from the smallest water spill and around entries, it is pulling at the seams and the most plasticky, sun-glaring ugliness ever. The product that was shown to us, is not what was installed. I have been trying to work with Empire to resolve some of the issues and they have not responded, closed our file, claimed it was all our fault even though we bought an extended warranty. They have sent two installers out to take pictures of the issues, one set of pictures was magically lost and the other was dismissed. Both installers said they can't fix our issues without installing thresholds in our open floor plan first floor.
I have had one responsive representative, but they are still not addressing the real issues. I have gotten a note saying all the issues were not covered by Empire or the warranty. When I asked them to say what the issues were, they didn't list half of the issues that I have been trying to work with them on. Installers worked hard, but are all subcontractors and not treated well by the overall company. I'm leaving this review after seven months of trying to communicate and work with Empire and they have been less than responsive. The product is awful and they use particle board quarter round. They are not responsive to customer requests and definitely don't stand behind any of what they promise.

They cost me almost $12,000 to put in three floors, but if I bought the best material at the Lowe's or Home Depot stores, it would probably cost me $3,000 or $4,000 for the best materials. It also doesn't warrant the $8,000 to install it.

They were very professional, and the installation, as well as everything else, was very great.

The sales rep from Empire was very informative and dealing with him was good. But he made some promises that he was gonna drop off the sample so we could match up the moldings and he never did. So, I tried to call him. But he never responded. We bought hardwood flooring and we had to postpone the installation a little bit but it went very well. The installers were very good.

The sales person was nice. The installers were alright. The flooring is not good quality. We had our living room carpet replaced. I thought I asked for the best. The nap of the carpet is so thin you can see the white the nap is threaded into. My old carpet was much thicker. We had LVP installed kitchen & dining area. Looked like I got all leftover planks with knots every other plank, scratches very easy. So sorry I used Empire Today.

Empire was great. I had used them to do my kitchen floors in the past. I was happy with them so I got carpet from them, too. The salesperson this time around was excellent. He didn't try to pressure me into buying a more expensive carpet. He let me stay within my budget. The installation team was fast and respectful. I just got out of their way, and in no time, they were done. The man who sold me the carpet said it might take a day or go into a second day to install it all because I had my whole upstairs done, and they were done in four hours. They got the living room, three bedrooms, 14 steps, and then the master bedroom done. Everything was great. They did an outstanding job.
I ran into some issues with the laminate floor they put on, and it was something simple. They tried to say that that wasn't part of it when, originally, I was told that everything is guaranteed for life. And then they won't follow through on that. They wanted to charge me $300 for a teeny strip. I was like, “No. That's okay.” I was so mad about that.

However, the cuts at the corners in the bathroom are not evened out like they should be. I wasn't here when they did the installation and my husband wasn't watching so it wasn't their fault. My nephew's a carpenter and he pointed it out. It's something that I would not have known on my own. But I like Empire Today. I'm gonna get them to do some other work as soon as I can get the money.

Four installers came in and they moved all the boxes out and then moved them back in. They did a very good job. The carpet is easy to maintain. The only problem I have is that it catches on things and then it pulls. If you try to fix it, it comes out and then there's a clear line. It actually breaks apart. But it has nothing to do with the install.

The installers who installed the hardwood floor in the living room and the one that installed the carpet in the basement were really good, informative, and they answered my questions.
But I had a different experience with the guy that installed the hardwood on the main stairs. He was short-tempered. He didn't want me to ask him questions. He got a little flustered because I was asking him questions. He apologized in the end, but I wasn't really happy with how he approached me. And the stairs don't look seamless. The installation doesn't look as good as it should. But I highly recommend Empire. I had carpet put in my house 10 years ago, and I liked the carpet and the installation. Everybody did a good job, so I figured I would try it out again. But it was a different company for the worse. The salesman came in. We picked out some carpet. He said it was a decent one, and it turned out to be cheaper than what we had in here. He sold us on a stain resistant insurance policy where they would take care of it. They replace the carpet. I went for that, and the installers came in and were horrible.
They tore the carpet up. They had dirt and dust all over my house. I sat here and watched the whole installation. I got wood floors underneath this carpet. They used a giant pole scraper and scraped the hell out of the whole wood floor. I called immediately. Empire Today talked to the installers. The installers said, “That's the only way we can get it up.” And they left 40 tacks in the floor and put the carpet right over and told me I wouldn't feel it. It was a fiasco.
One of the carpets had a stain on it. Brand new. And they said it must have been from the factory. So, I called. Empire Today gave me a big runaround and sent some installers back out. I tried to get the stain out. Wouldn't come out. This has been four months after the installation. I still haven't got anything taken care of. I still got the stain on the carpet. They offered me 200 bucks for the damage to the floor, which is ridiculous. I'm still fighting with them. I'm disappointed and disgusted with this situation. I'm trying to hold off payment on it, but they financed it to Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo told me they got nothing to do with it. So, my only option is to sue them and take them to court.

We used Empire Today in the past, so we got a discount for being a former customer. Also, the installation was a little cheaper with Empire. They had a special on at the time. Put one room in, get the second room free for installation purposes. We told them when we booked the appointment that we were looking at laminate instead of carpet. So, the gentleman came up and brought up seven types of books that had the different types of laminate. And he explained that these were waterproof, and what the laminate was made out of. He opened the books, sat on the couch, and let my wife and I go through and look at the different colors and the samples. When we picked one, he said, “Okay. Now I'll tell you a little bit more about it.” He did, and we decided that was the one we wanted to go with.
The crew that Empire hired to do the installation, we were told it would be a two to two and a half-day installation. The crew arrived at eight o'clock in the morning, and there were three of them during the first part where they moved furniture out and for the old carpet and old laminate out of our kitchen, dining room area. It went down to two people and they did the installation. They were able to finish it in one 11-hour day. They cleaned up everything. The house looked good when they were done. Everything was done professionally. It was a good experience. I haven't had good experiences with many contractors in the past. I've had two major projects done on my house recently, and they both were surprisingly efficient and well done.
There were some missing molding that they took some molding from behind the refrigerator that you would never see, and cut the pieces to the corner pieces. Because the house is 20 plus years old, and some of the corner pieces in the molding had kicked off because it's rounded corners on everything. They were able to cut the molding to make the corner parts and replace all of them, and they did it for just a minor charge. The guy said, “We're gonna have to call and see how much more” because they only replace the molding, not repair it. I said, “Okay.” I offered just to pay the crew a little extra to do that. And they said, “Okay. We don't have to mess with anything and we can get the job done right.” So, I paid him an extra $50 to do it.

Beware of the people that Empire brings to the house because they subcontract some of the work. You have to be careful and watch how they do it, especially if it's in a mobile home park for seniors. Ours was a repair job. It was the deluxe vinyl planks. It was in the living room, family room, and bathroom. We had the salesperson come. I looked at samples and took something that was supposed to be similar. But it ended up being lighter, which was okay with us. The same product was not available. We had to change.
The first people that came did a bad job. They screwed up. And they put too high of transitions in here. This is a mobile home park for seniors. It would cause my wife difficulty in passing. So, it had to be redone the second time by Empire Today. The process took a couple of days. And they had two people came out. This was after the salesperson came and told them exactly how to do it right. They did it right the second time. It delayed the bathroom remodel by contractors. I had contractors remodeling the bathroom because of water damage. It came out into the other rooms. So, it halted their work for the time that I had to repair the floor.

The others spoke a little English, but the representative did all the talking and let us know what they were going to do.
However, there was one mix-up. The salesperson said one thing in reference with how they would start and what we needed to move. But when they came, it was almost completely the opposite. We thought they were starting in our master bedroom and we were told to move the little things and they would move the big things. We moved that stuff in the hallway. But they said they would start with the hallway first. That part was a mess but it all worked out and things were done. There were a couple of things not in the room that it started out in, but that was no big deal. But it was the technical portion that he dropped the ball. What he didn't tell us was that there could be some issues with the measurements not being right. We got a rock thrown in in the estimate by the installers having to do all the plywood to make the flooring even. If the sales rep had warned us, that would have been different. Also, I left him a voice mail and he never got back to me.
The workmanship by the installers was impeccable, though, and the manager gave me $200 or $300 off. They were hardworking people and they did everything to please. And the follow-up people have helped me. I'm gonna recommend the company and if I have to do another floor somewhere else, I'm gonna call them back. The warranty and the products are great. I like it. The installers were awesome. They both did a really good job. They were in and out within maybe six hours or less. I plan on getting my bedroom done soon. I'd like to return to Empire because the color is only available through them and I want the color in the same rooms, but I've had issues with some of their people. The salesperson and the installers were good. The product is good, too. It's just dealing with the financial department was a big mess. It got so bad where they sent me to a collection agency. There was a big mix-up with the cashier's check.
I paid cash the first half of the deposit. The salesperson posted that. So, that was fine. Then I was supposed to pay the second half when the installation was done. So, I had a cashier's check with the money, and I gave it to the installer. The installer called the finance department and gave her all the numbers. Everything supposedly cleared. He asked if he should bring the check in. She said no. So, I kept the cashier's check, which I thought was strange because, usually, you take that with you and they deposit it right away because it's cash and it's not coming from my checking account. I didn't pay with a debit card. So, it had nothing to do with my bank account at all.
So, they didn't take the check and I thought everything was fine. Then I started getting calls saying that my check bounced. There was insufficient funds. I was thinking, "Well, how could there be not sufficient funds or how could the check bounce when it was a cashier's check paid for with cash?" Finally, I said, "If you want the cashier's check, you can come and get it." I wanna make sure that it gets picked up. The installer was supposed to come pick it up. So, he did pick it up and I thought everything was okay because I got confirmation of my extended warranty. And usually, you get that when it's paid off.
In between that, they sent me to a collection agency. I had to call them again saying that I paid with a cashier's check. So, then I got another phone call saying that I had to pay with a different form of payment because there was something wrong with the check. I told him, "Do not call me again and harass me." It was a big issue with that, and that went on for a good month and a half. They haven't called me back at all again. Everything else is fine. I love the product and I love the installers.

Empire had the best value and the most options and the quickest turnaround. We got hardwood installed in our home in the kitchen and a bathroom, laundry room area, and in our other two bathrooms upstairs as well. We've got two dogs. We definitely wanted the flooring to be durable, and to stand up to them. I've also got a two-year-old. So to try and be just resistant to as much, our sales guy pulled out the sample and ran his knife across it and it didn't scratch at all. That was our final decision as, "Our old floor is super scratched up with just the dogs and our son." The durability was really important to us.
The crew came out to install it. We had our Empire consultants call and make sure everything was good a couple of times throughout the day. They came through to install, inspected all of the rooms, and we found out that they had to get a couple of things from Home Depot, like the subfloor under the carpet and remove that. They started upstairs and worked their way down. They were here and went through and finished the whole thing with the separators on as well. For the most part, the quality was good. Some of the transition pieces have slipped off. So we will have to get them redone. But they did a really good job.
They definitely helped walk me through the process, checked in on the installation throughout the day and made sure it looked good, followed up to share how to care for our floors and what that looks like if things happen to the floors. It was an easy process, and they helped us pick a couple of different options for our lifestyle. We feel like we picked the best one. We love the color in here.

I am not complaining about it to the company because it was my choice but I don't like the carpet. It's cheap. They gave me a huge price, to start with, and almost cut it in half after I said I was not paying the big price. Also, there are areas of the install against the wall that have spaces. I have this parquet floor in a small area and now the wood is raised up because the padding and the carpet are so thin. It's so much thinner than what I thought would be but the rep said I was getting the top-of-the-line padding. What got me was she said, "We just installed this carpeting into a 10,000 square foot home." I'm disappointed in all of that.
