Empire came and corrected the damage. A whole new floor was put down. Edger and Victor did an excellent job and it was done right. Thank you for correcting the floor. Very Pleased!

Empire Today Of Denver Colorado Ripped us Off for $5000.00! I called them many times to come fix the tile floor! Then they stopped returning my calls and never fixed the $5000.00 tile floor! And I would say they're committing fraud!

How would you like to order carpet for the office in your home and six weeks later, when you worked your tail off to be all ready, Empire calls you and tells you that they don't have your carpet and that it's out of stock? What! YOU HAD SIX WEEKS!!! I have been very happy with Empire in the past and just recently, this is my second of two installations at our home, have been very satisfied with the first install. The first one went like a breeze, but this second one, just two weeks later, has been awful. Two different people called me two days prior to confirm the install date. Then they call me the morning of and they don't have it!!! Then they can't even tell me when they will have it or when they can install it!!! "Oh sorry, we will knock off $100 off the job." Really!
Well mean time I have boxes in the Master, in the LVRM, clothes hanging in other closets, office furniture in another room for a tight makeshift office and we have no idea when they can complete this job. I worked hard around my regular job to get this room completely renovated, working until 10 at night and until nearly midnight the last two nights before the scheduled date. Now the project is totally in limbo and the plans for the day to move a lot of things back and get the house somewhat in order are shot. Who knows how long we will be inconvenienced with this. Yeah, that 100 bucks will buy us off. Now I have to wait until Monday for a call from an install supervisor to maybe hope they can do something, whenever who knows. Total disgusted with them. Maybe they need 6 more weeks!

We had some laminate flooring and tiles from Empire Today. I love everything about our new flooring because it is great. I like how everything fits together - there are no spaces, little gaps or cracks. We looked at other brands prior to our purchase but we considered the convenience of getting it installed in a day so we ended up with Empire.

Empire Today was able to negotiate the pricing and their cost and quality was comparable with other brands so I had them install carpets in my home. I was going to get quotes for the basement so I called the sales rep. He was supposed to call me back but never did. I've been in sales for 20 years and I thought that was odd. The installers were nice but the people I talked to over the phone weren't very pleasant.

We had the cookies and cream carpet installed by Empire Today. It's awesome and it looks fantastic. I like its comfort and durability. Although we considered other brands prior to making our purchase, we went with Empire due to the quality of their product - it was highly customer satisfactory. Additionally, their salesman was a really great asset to them. Their installers were also in and out and very knowledgeable.

I had laminate floors installed in every room in the upstairs of our house by Empire Today. It is easy to keep and I like the way it looks. Now and then, I wonder about the safety of it because there has been different concerns about formaldehyde in laminate floors but I'm hoping it's not in my product. I am very happy with Empire Today.

On March 27, 2016, I ordered products to be installed in my home on Friday, April 1, 2016. No one called the day before to confirm but I did receive an email confirming installation on April 1st. Well today (April 1), at 915 A.M., I called to check the arrival of the installers. I was told that the products didn't make it on the truck and no installation was available for the day scheduled. I was also told that someone would contact me to schedule a Saturday install. Well to make a long frustrating story short, after 3 calls to your customer service from 9-3pm on April 1, I was left without a reschedule date or a installed products. At this point, I would NEVER recommend Empire to any of my friends or family members that I would like to keep. YOUR COMPANY IS THE WORST!!! As a new customer, this is the best way to make sure I will not be a returning customer.
Hi Regena, we realize that that the delays in your installation have been frustrating. This is not the level of service we expect for our customers, and we will be following up with you to discuss the situation.

Last year we had a decent experience with Empire, on a large flooring order. This year we decided to tackle the upstairs room by room. I placed a call, and set up an appointment for an estimate. We had a two hour window, but the company did not show. I was upset, and when I called, they offered a $50.00 discount on the reschedule. I told them I was not ready to decide if I wanted to do business with them after they wasted my time, and that I would call them back. I received a call the next day asking about the reason I canceled the appointment. I explained the situation and the person offered me a $150.00 discount on whatever offer was made for the install. I made the appointment, and the representative arrived within the two hour window on the second appointment.
We ended up choosing the same carpet in a different color, and asked about the need to move furniture. We were told that we should move what we could, and they would move the larger pieces. I signed the paperwork, and paid upfront. I hesitated, and was told not to worry. It would be easier if the installers did not need to collect the money. We set up a day for the install, and I requested a morning install if possible. Was not given a guarantee on the timing, so I left the whole day open. We moved all of the furniture out, with the exception of the three large pieces.
At 8:00 AM the next morning I began the waiting process. At 1:40 PM I texted the sales rep, who had requested we use that method to contact him if there were issues. Crickets... At 3:20, I called the customer service number, and was told they could not find the order. I immediately told them I would need to speak to a supervisor, because this was the second issue I had encountered. I was asked to hold for a few minutes while they "compiled the information" and tried to call the installation manager. After an extremely long hold, I was connected to someone, and started the arduous process of explaining my issue, only to discover that I was not speaking to a supervisor, customer service, but customer service.
I waited another 7 minutes while they got a supervisor. The supervisor also researched, and was unable to do anything for me because they have no actual paperwork on file. They do, however, have my payment. I am now in limbo, while they fiddle around and try to contact the installation manager, to have them contact me. Who knows how long we will be in limbo... I have been assured that it will be handled, but I am hopping mad, and have no idea of how long this simple project will take.
Hi Jeanne, we never want our customers to be disappointed in our products or our services, and we will be contacting you soon to discuss your experience in more detail.

We have a friend who uses Empire and we liked what they did so we had them install 225 square yards of carpet all throughout our house. But they got things screwed up because they delivered the wrong carpet and had to take them back. Although once they got the right carpet, things went great. It must have rained ten hours the day while they were installing it but they finally got it straightened out.

Empire Today installed my father's carpeting - the moisture resistant padding, and the higher grade carpeting in the living room, bedroom, and several other places in the house. I had used Empire before. He loves the quality of the carpet and the color. He can't see but he can feel it. The installers were really great. They came early and were very friendly and courteous. They did their job fast and tried to beat the rain. The customer service department was a little bit rude but other than that, we were happy enough with them to recommend them to our family members.

We bought our carpet in Feb 2014 (just 2 years ago). We had to make a warranty claim because it just looks "matted" down. And the claim started in January, and we are still fighting it (Look below at the timeline). It's to a point now where we are very close at hiring a lawyer for damages and stress and also contacting local news stations getting our word out. It will become my lifelong goal to ruin this company if this is not handled soon!
Empire timeline: 01/25: First complaint made to Empire, told Russ will call us back. 01/27: No call from Russ. We are again told Russ will call us. 01/29: We call and Russ finally calls back - inspection set up for sat (less than 12 hr notice given). 01/30: 2 inspectors come out. We are told we need to send proof to Russ in an email copies of carpet cleanings. 01/30: All proof emailed to Russ the same day.
02/02: Sent email to Russ to confirm he received everything he needed. Nothing ever returned. 02/05: Called and left voicemails asking what was the next step. 02/08: Voicemail left at 2:33pm by Ryan (7-10 business days to complete). 02/22: No callback. We call manager Jackie - told Russ will return our call, never happens. 02/28: We call and leave voicemails for Ryan, Nicole and Jackie. 02/29: 3:05pm Ryan calls back and needs proof that the carpet cleaning places uses hot water extractions.
03/01: Proof of those faxed over. 03/02: We call and speak with Jackie to confirm Ryan received the faxed proof he requested. No one calls us back. 03/09: Called and left another voicemail as we never heard from anyone from 03/02. 03/09: 3:21pm Ryan calls back 7-10 business days for manufacturer to call back Empire. Ryan tells us no later than Monday afternoon 03/14. 03/16: Ryan calls, manufacturer declined the claim. We are told Empire has to send out another inspector. 03/22: Inspector calls and tell us we have to leave the house unlocked for him to enter (Not happening in Muskegon). We call manager Jackie and Ryan and leave voicemails. 03/24: New inspector calls, new inspection set for April 16 (82 days after starting this process). 03/28: Ryan calls and explains the inspector has 48 hours to turn in his report, 3-5 days for Empire to handle the paperwork and then an additional 14 days to even see if we will be getting the new carpet.

Where to begin? My experience with Empire flooring was far from acceptable to say the least! To start, we had a salesman come to our house to measure and give us an estimate. Sales pitch: I regretfully must admit that I bought-in; hook, line, and sinker. Alex really talked up the product very well and made us feel like we were getting a great deal. He also said that SmartStrand and Anso R2x are the same product. He said SmartStrand is the new name for it (found out later they are two totally different companies).
I knew I was dealing with a salesman but, I did my research on costs and I thought the ease of the purchase and the all-inclusive (tear out, installation, & disposal) was a good deal. We agreed to a price and decided to finance through their company. However; once we began to sign paperwork, the Alex told us that he needed the down payment which we never discussed. He said it was because they needed at least 10% of the purchase paid for installation purposes. I was caught off guard and questioned this, but I conceded because it went towards my purchase after all.
Installation (1st attempt): The installation workers showed up with a carpet that had a different style name than what was on our paperwork, although, the pattern was similar to what we ordered with the salesman. Because of the discrepancy, my wife informed the installer that she didn't think it was the right carpet because the name of the style was different than what was on our contract. He questioned her judgment and asked her if she knew what she purchased. She didn't argue back but requested she get what was stated on the contract. The installer made a call and said he had to go back to the warehouse to pick up the carpet listed on our paperwork. He also asked for her to clean out the garage so they could have room to work. He said he would call us with an update in regards to when he would be back. We didn't receive a call for the rest of the day.
Contact with salesman (Alex) and Empire: I called to express my frustrations about the installers not calling us back or following up with us to determine when they would be back. The customer service rep said he contacted the installers who said they left a message for us (no such message exists) and that they would be back the next morning. He also said a manager would call us back (ref #**). That did not happen. I explained to the customer service rep that I wished I had looked at the many horrible reviews before making this big purchase. He acknowledged that there were a lot of bad reviews but stated that they "always try to make it right" (turned out to be a lie).
I then called Alex and he explained that there was a "glitch" in the computer system and that name on my contract was wrong. They did bring out the right carpet (the patterns were very similar), but he understood the confusion. While talking to me, he disregarded the input error of the order and focused on the installer's bad attitude. He said he couldn't guarantee anything but that he was sure his manager would compensate us for our troubles and would send a new crew over the following day with the carpet we initially agreed upon.
Installation (2nd day): The new team of installers arrived on this day and stated they needed "Cash On Delivery" before they could start. Seriously? We had to make more phone calls and straightened that out as it was already financed. I have to say, this installation crew was friendly however, after getting to almost 2/3 of the project completed, they said that not enough carpet was ordered! We had to make more calls and apparently there's a separation in sales and installation because they both appeared to want to blame each other. The installers had to install what they had, leave the job, and travel across town to pick up the carpet. Due to the lateness in the afternoon, we agreed for them to come back the following morning to complete the install.
Installation (3rd day): Installers arrived, finished the install, and left. Later that afternoon, I finally got a return phone call from a manager. She didn't appear to initially recall the conversation we had the prior day about the shortage of carpet, but later said they sent out carpet without measuring because the cutting equipment was down. So apparently they were just sending out whatever and figuring it out later. She didn't at all seem too concerned with our overall experience, and only said she would talk to all parties involved and was sorry for the experience. I asked about being compensated for the time we had lost due to rescheduling appointments and waiting for the completion of the project. She said she would bring it up to the other managers and would call me back on Monday (never received that call). Huh, guess they aren't too concerned about making it right.
Overall: I didn't feel valued as a customer. The salesman seemed to want to sell, the installers seemed to want to install, and we just wanted new carpet. We did our part in picking out the carpet and financing our purchase. The rest should have worked itself out. Well, that's how it was presented to us at least. I'm one of those easy to please customers and I don't like to complain as long as I get halfway decent service. I would have to say Empire was far below my expectations and it's amazing to me that they continue to function with such dysfunctional internal communication and below average customer service.
Still waiting for the manager's return phone call to happen...shows how important I am. :( I would love to update my review by saying they "made it right", but I don't have much faith in that happening. I and anybody I know will not be using this company in the future. Save yourself the stress and use Lowe's or Home Depot if you want to save money. Unless you want to take your chances with a company that states they will make it right instead of getting it right (and they can't even deliver on that promise). Sorry Empire. You get a thumbs down way down.

I like Empire Today. They're good people. I've had a good experience with them and I've recommended them to other people. Their salesman didn't pressure me and he listened to what I had to say. If Empire Today had people like him pushing their products, they'll install a lot of carpets. Oscar and his helpers, the first private contractors to put my flooring in, were really good. I requested for them but for whatever reason this last time we got somebody else and I wasn't pleased with that. The second carpet wasn't installed to my liking, I called the salesman up because I wasn't sure what to do. There is a seam that was open and it didn't close, he said that he would take care of it and he did. Then, they called me and then they sent somebody out. They took care of everything expeditiously. They sent out the guys that I wanted to come and put it in. They looked at it the other day, ordered the carpet for it, and they're gonna come back and fix it.

My husband signed a contract on an iPad and was NOT told that if we did not remove the old baseboard, the installer would put a 3/4 inch round WHITE QUARTER ROUND (that is basically cheap compressed cardboard) where the floor meets the baseboard. The baseboard and floor is dark brown!!! It looks absolutely horrible. My husband tried contacting the customer service twice by phone and once by survey before he finally received a callback.
The callback was 4 days after the initial call. To say that we are very disappointed that a company that regards itself as "highly recommended" is an understatement. So it was great. Their installers were nice and cleaned up very well.
However, I had ordered blinds for the master bedroom and kitchen because the ones I have are falling apart. It was on the 26th of February. Last week or the week before, I finally got a hold of somebody and found out they no longer do them. I had my attorney call them to make sure that they weren’t going to come up with them and say, “Oh by the way, here are your blinds” and meanwhile, I got them someplace else. It seems to be squared away. But I was disappointed that neither my representative, who I used twice before, nor Empire Today called me to say that they no longer stocked that product and so I wouldn’t be getting them. Between the sales guy and every time I get a flooring installed, I always ask for the exact same crew because they are like artists. They were perfect. The sales guy was very comfortable to talk to and did not oversell. He listened to what I wanted and gave me some options. He even suggested that if they didn’t have the flooring, Home Depot or somebody else might have it. Cost was a little better than other brands.

I deal with tons of vendors on a daily basis as I am a Property Manager and Empire Flooring has been the worst company I have EVER dealt with. They show up without calling, they will not give me the installer phone number so I would make sure we would be there the same time since the property is vacate. One day I had to call in 6 times and I still had a no show installer after my assistant was at the property for 2 1/2 hours waiting. The owner called me and stated that they would be there at 9 am on a Thursday and then I get a call from Empire which I was shocked because they never call back to inform me that the installer would be there between 9-11 which is different than what they told the owner. I ask Lisa with Empire if they were going to pay my assistant for the 2 hours she has to wait, so I told her I need a better time so she tells me to have her there at 10:30 with a attitude. Please never use this company.

How on earth do you give a price but don't have the balls to print the customer a copy? Empire Today lost my business and hopefully yours as well.

After the install of carpeting on stairs and landing of my home (which cost $850). I initially thought that price was extremely high considering the small space and amount carpet needed. However, I was assured the price was correct, and the installation was difficult to do, hence the price. The installer installed the carpeting in less than a hour. Which after the install there was a large amount of carpet left over. I inquired with the installer why so much carpet was left over, and if I had been charged for carpet I can't use. He said to contact Empire.
Once I contacted customer service at Empire, I was advised to contact the person I had my initial appointment with. The salesman said he will look into the issue and get back with me. I feel I should be reimbursed for the carpet I cannot use. There is a very large amount of carpet left over from this install, and if I was overcharge for carpet I cannot use/nor do I need I have been taken advantage of by Empire. I hope management will rectify this situation, before I have to take this any further.

As soon as the crew started installing he left and never came back. He did leave his name and phone number. I called Santos about the glue on the floor, he said, "Buy some mineral spirits." On 3/8/16, we had Empire Today install a wall-to-wall carpet in our single family home in South Hamilton, MA. It was an install of carpet in our daughter's room, our living room and a hallway. During the carpet installation, the contractors caused multiple damages - resulting in an unsafe environment for my family. 1) A crack in a bathroom doorway molding with sharp splinters of wood protruding from the lower section into the door opening. The vertical length of molding was also deeply scraped below the wood surface. 2) One leg of our butcher block dining room table was ripped off the frame. The contractors left the leg in position, and the table almost collapsed on my wife. 3) Two sharp nails protruding from the newly installed carpet at the foot of an entrance way - caused a puncture wound to my daughter's foot. We have since marked the nails with tape to avoid another injury.
These damages are absolutely unacceptable, and we are incensed by the carelessness of the Empire Today contractors who did the work. We have been in contact with Empire Today's customer service division since 3/9/16 (with photos of the damages) and have agreed to select our own contractors to do the repairs (understandably). At Empire's request, we are required to triple bid the contractor work - an incredible inconvenience and lengthy process. I'm writing this complaint because, considering the circumstances, Empire should be doing a lot more to make up for this disastrous and dangerous situation.

Empire Today did our downstairs and floors installed a few years ago and so we already knew we wanted them to do the flooring and stairway upstairs in our bedroom and hallway because we wanted to duplicate our downstairs. The installation guys were really knowledgeable, helpful, and accommodating. They installed everything in a very timely manner. We thought from the sales guy and even the store that it was going to be a one day job, but the installers said it was wrong and not how it was going to be. They took very good care of us and did a very good job installing the flooring. The floor has met our expectations and is really beautiful. They minimized the damage that could have been caused in everything from just the way our stairs are and the way the flooring had to be installed.
The more problems that we had were with the store and the salespeople. The salespeople were not very knowledgeable and I'm dissatisfied with them. They did give me a good price. I would probably use Empire Today again but I would go into it with a lot of questions and I wouldn't trust what my salesperson says. I would do a lot of follow up with the installers and the management in the store, and make sure that what the salesperson is telling me is right. There's a spot on my floor where my dogs had done some damage to prior existing floor that was down on my living room and the sales person charged $500 and said we can take that out and replace the floor. We said, "Okay charge us and go ahead replace it." The installers came in and said, "You can't replace that floor. That's going to cost nails all the way across your living room." So we had them back out that $500 out of it.
Then when they put the stairs in, they put the stairs in first which caused the carpeting to go down the rise of my stair which it was supposed to be on the top. They said they're going to have to cut out all the stairs now that they're already laid in here and rip out all these cocked in, glued in, nailed in stairs. So now I don't have a carpet on my stairs the way I wanted it to be installed. This whole job was only supposed to take two days. We had to wait a week for them to come here. So I called Empire and had to gripe and talk to three people to get reimbursed $175 for 12 of my stairs not being the way they're supposed to be in and I had to fight for that.
I would probably want an installer come out, inspect, and tell me things I need to do. If I need to be prepared for anything, if this is going to go on longer than the salesperson told me, or is there going to be damage to my house that I'm going to need to allot more financially to repair. I don't care I'm getting a good price on my floor if it's installed wrong. We don't blame the installers. They were great.

I had Empire Today put some tiles on the kitchen floor and some hardwood floor in the living room. The quality of flooring they put in the kitchen is excellent. It's hard, very durable and looks like a real rock. A box of 14 tiles that’s about 28 square foot is $124 and I needed 16 tiles for the kitchen, so it’s expensive, but it has good quality. It’s really hard to imagine what a floor would look like with something you picked out, but I’m very satisfied with the kitchen flooring - it looks good and exceeded my expectations. I’m just not very happy with what I chose for the living room, and I should’ve chosen something different for it.
You’ve got to be satisfied with the type of flooring you buy, and Empire had this particular type of flooring that were put in the kitchen. I had Sears down here and I didn’t like the type of flooring they had to offer. There are other companies who could’ve gotten the same flooring but I liked Janice, the Empire sales lady who came out here. She is very good and I enjoyed talking to her. Aside from that, I also considered going with Empire because they were running a discount that's half of everything. Also, the flooring has a good warranty and their installers have done a good job. It seemed expensive but it’s a reasonable price. I had them install the carpet in the basement and it wears pretty well. It's a pet carpet and it’s made so that it hides stains. It disguises moistures so one can't see if there’s a spill or urine on it. However, we'd know it based on the smell so I would rather be able to see the stains when they happen so I can pick them up and it would be ideal if it disguises the dry stains, too. He gave me a quote for the items I liked and of course, "I picked the most expensive product." BS. He then got on the phone to his "manager" you know, like car salesmen and I'm supposed to be sooo pleased that he got a "great price for me" which was well above my budget we discussed. He then said "well, sign these papers - they're not to purchase, they're just to lock in this great price." I stupidly did... but then awoke in a panic a couple days later and texted him the I wanted to verify that I did not purchase - that it was to lock in the price. He texted back.. "no problem." I asked him to text those exact words and he said I needed to call this 888 number. This screamed SCAM to me.
I called the number and spoke with an associate and he calmly said that "no, there wouldn't be an installation... It's been cancelled." Well, I just got a call that my "scheduled installation is tomorrow!" Of course I can't reach them but left 2 messages NOT TO COME - I DON'T WANT THEIR PRODUCT... THIS IS A SCAM! When I came down here, I wanted to remove the carpets and I put in the laminated tile in the whole condo from kitchen, living room, dining room, to bedrooms. The tiles look like wood and I love it. Their people were completely outstanding, very professional and gave me 100% satisfaction. I'm very pleased and I highly recommend them to everybody. When I go up north, I'm going to do work up there again.

My experience with Empire Today was a positive one. The online appointment scheduler was easy to use, the sales person was very knowledgeable about the products, and the installation was very professional. The time frame I was given for delivery and installation was met, and the installers were very competent. The final price for two rooms of carpet and padding, removal of old carpet, installation and moving the furniture in and out of the rooms was less than the price I was quoted at a local home improvement store. All in all, I was very satisfied with Empire Today, and I have their business to several people.

I am very unhappy with Empire regarding how I was treated after the installation was completed. 2 days after the carpet was installed, I noticed a piece of moulding was missing at an inside corner of the top landing of the stairs, leading to the Bonus room. When I contacted Empire about the issue, they did send the installer out to look at the place where the moulding was missing. After he arrived at my home, he inspected the place where I indicated the moulding was missing. He asked one of his workers to take a look as well. After doing so, the installer told me that his worker said he did not remove the moulding and that it was like that when he performed his work. I showed the installer where the moulding leading up to the piece that was missing had not been painted where it would have connected. At that time he said he would have to contact his dispatch.
That was the last I heard from Empire. I have reached out twice since that time and told that my concern was being forwarded to someone else. It has been more than two weeks and I have heard nothing. This is at most a $25 parts issue with no more than a couple hours of labor. As a result, I am making sure that everyone I talk to, knows of the poor customer service and to stay clear of buying any product from Empire. Thanks.

The crew that initially came could barely speak english, installed our kitchen linoleum crooked and tried to say our house was crooked. Clogged our toilet in the master bedroom 2 times, took personal phone calls in our master bedroom, unbelievable! Came back a second time to re-install the linoleum and did not have a big enough piece. Really? Sub-contracted installers who can't speak English enough to communicate what you want done and how you want it done is not very impressive or customer friendly.

The carpet guys and the Empire Today carpet itself are awesome. They did a great job but the salesperson who represented the company screwed up. We're in the process of repairing some credit things. We figured my wife was okay because she had just recently received some credit and he said no, they won't do it. And then he went to mine and mine was accepted but before we did that I asked him what we were looking at for payment on $2500 through their credit place. He tried one place and it didn't work then he tried Fortiva and Fortiva accepted me. He told me the payments were under around $88. He made me feel comfortable and that everything was great so we went for it.
Then the letter came in the mail and my payment is $164 a month so that's exactly double and that's the minimum payment. And I'm locked into it. If I screw this up, there goes my credit again, which I'm trying to repair so Empire Today as far as representing their company is not so good. Their people who sell this stuff really need to know more about the financing end of it and let people know upfront that because their credit isn't that great, it's probably going to be 150 bucks a month. If he'd have told me that, I wouldn't have gotten it. He knew so he scammed me into thinking that it will be okay.
Empire also couldn't do anything for me to get that payment lowered. The other thing is I also told them to make my payment on the 3rd as that's when I get my Social Security Disability check and he said, “Oh, I don't think that'll be a problem.” But on the 28th of last month, they said my payment was due and that's going to make me late if I don't pay it. There goes my credit, first payment, late. So I called Fortiva and finally got them to say that they will process everything on the 6th, to move my payment to the 3rd after I make this first payment which is extremely inconvenient for me. I had to go out and borrow money to make a payment not to screw my credit up.

The girl from Empire who came out was nice, and the carpet was put in the next day.
If I had it in my house, I would have wished that I had upgraded a bit because the carpet tamped down quickly. It was nice and didn't look cheap, but it doesn't take long for it to look crushed down after I vacuumed it. If that were my own home, I would be a bit disappointed because the flooring looks like it needs to be vacuumed again soon. I had Empire Today install a beautiful, custom-made rug which had to be ordered, and I had to wait for it. And about a year ago, my mother must have dropped something very heavy on the brick linoleum kitchen floor so I glued it down with hard glue and it was okay. But in the fall this past year, I come downstairs, and my mother was whipping the floor up in big, huge pieces. I told her that the floor had asbestos in it, and that the GIF floor people were not in business now. So I glued it down again in all different pieces, and it was so bad, it was like the map of the United States. I had to put a rug over it so that our little Yorkie wouldn’t touch it.
But my mother kept on ripping it, so I had to call Empire Today and I talked to Jay to provide a rug for the porch. I had a very good rapport with him and I like him very much. I told him I need to get a new floor so he came down and showed me all the different kinds of flooring that they offer. I was going to get engineered wood and then I was sort of talked out of that by the hardware store guy. He told me, "You know if you do a lot of cooking, and you have pets, it's not very good because it's hard to take care of." He said, “I would go with the tile.” I said, “Yeah, but if you dropped a dish, that will crack” because we had beautiful tile in our bathroom.
So he suggested that I go with the vinyl flooring. He said that it looks just like real wood and it's beautiful and easy to take care of. So that’s where I went with. My insurance company paid for most of it and I only had to pay for $120. The engineered wood wouldn’t have been that much more, but because it would have been harder to take care of, I decided it wouldn’t be good for me.
Our new flooring is beautiful and I love it. They did a floating floor because if you had to take the old flooring out, you don’t know what kind of asbestos would be in there. That thing would fly to the air and we didn’t want to take any chances plus we couldn’t leave the house. We just did it right over and you can't even tell so it looks great. My cousin was over on Sunday and she said, “God, this is beautiful.” It matches with the color of the wood that I have in the dining room. The only thing is that they scrape my door a little bit so I had my handyman fix it. Overall, my experience with Empire Today has been very good. They were very accommodating and nice.

I called Empire Today on a Friday and a salesman came the following week. We discussed what I wanted to accomplish and he showed me samples. I accepted and two men came and put down the rugs the following week. I was very pleased. One salesman measured the doors, but apparently they couldn't continue because the doors had to be shaved at the bottom. So another week passed and one man came back. He carried the doors down the steps and he shaved them off. All this work was done outside, and he did it thoroughly, so I appreciated that. And everything worked fine - the doors are sliding side to side. I was very pleased that he came back. I paid extra for that, but it had to be done ‘cause the doors couldn’t be put back the way they were. One was left in place, but then they decided they couldn’t do the rest until the bottom of the doors were cut.
Today I have the maids coming in and they are vacuuming. I think there’s a certain amount of dust still within the rugs, and I just wanted a thorough vacuuming just to see if that tones down the dust created from the rugs. I don’t have a cold when I’m downstairs, but when I’m upstairs my nose runs. So I thought maybe if they did wipe down the walls and vacuumed the carpeting that that might reduce some of the obviously loose dust that might still be in the air. All in all, it was a good experience and done expeditiously.

Empire Today installed laminate wood in my home. It was a very good sale so I saved a lot of money, which I appreciate, but they didn’t deliver what they said. I wasn’t given any instructions on the flooring's maintenance and the installers had to delay because of the paperwork on Empire's end. They say that Empire does that all the time and the contractors have to wait. I waited for almost two hours for them to come and pick up a piece of paper and then go back.
I am very happy with the way the flooring looks, but don’t like the cleaning maintenance problems that I have. I have to struggle to clean it. They said it was easy to maintain and care for, and I didn’t know that I was going to have a problem with the smudges. It’s a lot harder for me to clean than I thought it would be. When I use a spray, it leaves spots that don’t come off. I want to see it nice, but instead, I see little marks which I don’t like, and I don’t know why it’s doing that. If I don’t do anything or give it any cleaning product on it, it might even turn into cardboard. I have rug mats where I clean my feet to avoid any dirt, moisture or water from the rain. I protect the flooring that much, but I still need a lot of dusting, and I do it every day.
Also, I’m concerned about where it is from because it is synthetic and there is news about people discovering that they were getting some kind of sickness from their flooring. The salesperson who was Asian didn't tell me if the flooring was from a company here and what was in them. And looking back, I don’t know if I would get synthetic acrylic. It’s nice and cheaper, but a lot of hard work to clean - much more than what they told me.
The salesperson was not very efficient in giving me the proper information. He said they were going to put one side, knock the wall off on the floor and the floor off in the dining room, and the other part will be left on because that can be put on top of it. They took it all off, so he was dead wrong and at the last minute, they were going to charge me $300 to take it out. He didn’t know how to put in floors. Empire should have somebody who knows a little bit about their product and how to maintain them before they try selling them. Also, he wasn’t as polite as I would want him to have been, but it was okay. He wasn’t direct. I asked him to check to see what credit amount we have left. We used it and charged the difference. I paid it out cash, and thought I had paid it all off already, but the he didn’t estimate it correctly.
I would recommend Empire because of the installers who were really nice and experts in flooring. They were excellent and did a professional job. They told me what product to get and what to use, they did it here, and that was what I’ve been doing. These good contractors make the company look good. However, they should look into the paperwork and sales people who don’t really know the technical part of their products and hire people who know the product, how to do floors and explain how to maintain it.

After three days of taking off work, two cancelations within minutes of when they were suppose to come and numerous calls to their customer service, I am still left with buckling lament in my kitchen and have been without a stove for 4 days now due to their incompetence.

Lisa was THE MOST professional, informative yet pleasant salesperson we have EVER had for anything. She knew her products inside and out and we never felt like we were rushed, pressured or given a bunch of information just to sell. She was confident in Empire's quality of materials, honest, listened attentively to our needs as customers and multitasked the whole time doing measurements etc in a very unobtrusive way. She is top notch! The installation team was also top notch. They were polite, extremely thorough, very hardworking and respectful of our home. I cannot say enough about them either!

Our experience with Empire was perfect. I set up an appointment online, they appeared at the hour stated. The representative took his time measuring to give us an accurate price. When we hesitated, he offered us an incentive which made the offer too good to refuse (a word to the wise!). The installation was equally professional and timely. We are extremely pleased with the purchase and the experience.

About a month ago, I had Empire Today install my laminate wood flooring. When they said that there's going to be some percentage off, they were not lying like the other companies on TV. Empire's team was prompt about what they were advertising and I had a very good experience with them. They were wonderful and I was very happy. At first, they had something wrong, but they changed it right away, so it was very satisfactory to my liking.

We ordered carpet through Empire Today on 3/5/16 and set our installation date for 3/8/16. We received a call from Empire stating the time frame they will arrive for installation. We were worried because it had been raining all morning and thought that Empire was going to cancel our installation. They didn't cancel, but instead the installers showed up and one of them refused to enter our home because we have a dog. The dog was indeed locked in the cage and out of sight, nowhere near where they would be working.
When we originally set the installation date it was notated that dogs would be present, so why send an individual that is not comfortable with dogs. The installers then asked my husband to come outside and verify that the carpet is the correct carpet and when he did it was soaked from the rain and they still wanted to install it. This was unacceptable so my husband called customer service to inform them of the situations that were going on. The gentleman he spoke with in customer service was very rude and not helpful at all. He had to call back to get another representative for help.
This type of service for such a reputable company is unacceptable. They then proceeded to tell us that they weren't able to get anyone out to install until the following week now and then continued to change the dates even further out. Finally we settled on the same week but for Friday. Mind you my husband has been at work all night and had to wait up all morning for the installers to arrive in the first place. This experience has made us think about cancelling our entire order and finding another company to install our carpet.
Hi Katherine, thanks for bringing your concerns to our attention. The family floor installation itself and the quality of the product were very good. However, the salesman promised me a natural wood color quarter round. We actually had quite a lengthy discussion of the fact that I did not want white. He insisted he had a color of brown that would match my fireplace. I did not see the job until after the installers were finished and saw that the molding was indeed a creamy color instead of brown. I signed off on it even though I was not pleased with the way it looks. I made this remark in the first survey I was sent and I had someone call me in response to my negative comment. I was offered a choice of having it replaced or be given a $75 credit/refund on the job.
Someone then called me from Empire and after several phone calls I was told that there was no molding like I was promised (Even though I already the molding I wanted in three other rooms that Empire has done!). This individual stated that she spoke with the salesman and he denied that he had promised me brown molding. I then indicated that I would accept the $75 credit. This person, as well as her supervisor both LIED and said they checked the tapes of my conversation with the responder from the survey and they could find no place where I was promised a refund. Empire has since lost any future business from me, as well as word of mouth recommendations. I have three other bedrooms to be getting new flooring and I will NEVER use of recommend Empire again. I HOPE THE $75 WAS WORTH LOSING, NOT ONLY A CUSTOMER, BUT FUTURE RECOMMENDATIONS AS WELL.

I am absolutely disappointed with the installation of my new laminate flooring. The installers came and put the floor in but failed to mention anything about bad subfloors so when I checked my new floors they were squeaky everywhere, bouncy in some spots and even a hill in one bedroom. They never put the white gloss trim like it states in my flooring specification sheet. When I called to complain the idiot manager on shift first tells me they don't replace subfloors which is a LIE, and even if they didn't replace them they should notify me to tell me to replace them before they can do the job. Instead they put floor down which now needs to be redone and they want to send the same people who messed up the first time. It's unacceptable. My family now has our life on hold while we wait to get our floor fixed... oh and they want to charge us extra even after their mistakes.

Empire has a better price compared to other places, and the carpet was of good quality as well. When we made the appointment, they came right away the very next day and helped us with everything that we needed. They gave great service. We had the carpet installed on the second floor in the two bedrooms and a den, which is like a small living room. Recently, one of the workers came to check our kitchen floor as we're thinking of remodeling it. He was very nice and helpful.

Absolutely the worst service and experience. I would give ZERO stars if I could. I wish I had checked Yelp first! It started out feeling really good. We had a sales guy Robert who was very nice. I liked the price and product he presented, so we SIGNED A CONTRACT for the work to be done on 3/5 with the condition that we move the stove, fridge, and toilet ourselves. Done deal, we were happy. We moved all of the appliances and removed the toilet the evening of 3/4, and the next morning we got up and awaited the crew's arrival. And waited. And waited.
And finally, an hour after they were supposed to show up, I get a call from a man named Darnell letting me know that the technician who was supposed to do our flooring ran into an unexpected delay in a different job, and would not be able to do our floors that day. (Please note that this was a total LIE because Empire does not do overnight jobs! There is no possible way that this could be true) I became quite upset and advised Darnell that we had already removed our toilet, and that he needed to get someone out there today. Darnell refused, continuing to claim that there was no one to send and nothing he could do about it.
He offered to have someone come out Monday 3/7, or Saturday 3/12. My husband and I both work full time and there was NO WAY we were going to lose a full day's pay because of their incompetence. So, after discussing with my husband, we agreed that a reasonable solution would be to have them come out on Saturday 3/12. In the meantime we would put the toilet back. Our conditions were that they would take $100 off the job, and they would remove the appliances and put them back themselves. Reasonable right? (especially considering that this would require that we purchase another seal for the toilet) WRONG!
They were willing to take some money off the job, but not to move the appliances. We were going to be required to do it ourselves AGAIN. Now would be a good time to mention that they charge $40 per appliance, so they would have charged us $240 to do what we have now done TWICE. At this point I was thoroughly pissed and disgusted, so I called Robert the sales guy. He was very empathetic, and said he would call the office to work something out for me. A little while later I got a call back from Robert letting me know that he was willing to come to our home to supervise the job on Monday. This way we wouldn't have to wait a week, and we wouldn't need to put the toilet back on in the meantime and have to buy that replacement part, and we wouldn't have to miss work. This is in addition to removing $100 off the job.
We were annoyed with the company as a whole at this point, but this seemed an acceptable compromise. (Please also note that Darnell told Robert that the tech that was supposed to do the work was MIA and not picking up his phone! No call, no show. So that line about the "unexpected delay on another job" was a load of hogwash and a total LIE).
Today is 3/7. My husband stayed at the house this morning waiting for Robert to show up so he could let him in. After no contact from Robert, my husband gave him a call. What a shocker to learn that Robert has 2 appointments this morning! One at 9, and one at 11, and neither are anywhere near our house! So he had NO INTENTION of actually showing up this morning! None. Needless to say we have cancelled the whole job.
This company does not deserve our business. We are working to have my deposit refunded and we will go all the way up to the CEO of Empire and drag their @sses before the Better Business Bureau to get it back if we have to. Empire, please note, we have told EVERYONE WE KNOW ABOUT THIS. Everyone. Our friends and family, our personal banker, the cashier at Save Mart, our neighbors, our co-workers, EVERYONE. My husband is an account manager for a property management company, and guess who he's going to tell all of his clients and associates not to use? YOU. My mother-in-law is having her entire 3600 sq ft home re-floored this summer. She was planning on using you, but after hearing our story, guess what flooring company she will never ever use? That's right, YOU. Good luck keeping your doors open. If this is how you do business I don't think you will be around much longer.

Approximately a little over 2 years we had hardwood floors installed from Empire. Loved the floors until maybe 6 months later. Noticed the finish peeling in a certain area. Because it was a high volume area, didn't really think too much into it. Now almost 2 years into it there are MANY other spots where the finish is peeling. Called Empire to come and inspect the product but was told they charge almost a $100 to just come out and inspect it. $100! Just to look at it??? Never was told this by the salesman nor told when I made the initial appointment for Empire to come out again. Ridiculous! If a company stands by their products then why charge a high fee to just inspect it? We had considered of having them do carpet or another product throughout the rest of the house but not after this.
Updated 4/4/2016 - After back and forth with Empire Today over engineered hardwood floors that the finish started peeling off they sent out an 'independent' floor inspector to take pictures and view the damaged floors. The inspector findings were the floors were damaged by dogs. When I purchased these floors we were told by Empire salespeople that these floors were and are the best for people who have dogs, and high traffic areas. Now Empire is back-stepping. I received a call today from their GM D. ** asking if they could replace the floors with ceramic tile or another type of laminate, they want to fix this problem. Better fix it with a refund before the local news media investigation team comes and starts filming what a scam they are, how they mislead their clients.

We didn’t have enough money to do all the bedrooms but they said that that carpet will be in stock no matter what. That was convenient and the price was good too.

When the installer was putting some of the trim work, he did it in a way that I didn't like, so I suggested another way and he readily changed it. He was very open and receptive to it. I also appreciated that he liked it better in the end. Overall, it has been a rewarding experience.
