A sale rep named Bruce came to my house on 5/14. I will leave out last names and numbers but have them if needed. I choose flooring for my whole house. He goes on to tell me that my total was $18,000 but 1/2 price he could do it for 9k. I said that is a joke, Rite Rug gave me a quote of $6500 not 1/2 price. Bruce goes on to tell me that he is told to start high and some people pay it but he will call to get approval for a lower price. We settled on $6122. I was told I had to pay "In Full" for that price, hesitant, I did. The flooring was going to be laid on 5/28. I had not heard anything from anyone after payment. I called on 5/27 to confirm. I received a confirmation email confirming my install for the 28th. About 10 am the 28th I called because I had not heard from anyone and was told if I did not hear from anyone by noon to call back. About 11:30 I received a call being told no one was going to show up and they needed to reschedule.
I was transferred to Carlos. Carlos said the best they could do was June 8th-9th and if I needed anything, to call him. I have called Carlos twice and he has never called me back. All I wanted to do was confirm that they are coming the 8th and 9th of June. Well I found my sales rep's business card at the house and call Bruce. And to my surprise he said he had quit. He told me your company is a scam and you do this to everyone. Take their money, make people pay in full and never deliver on dates promised. He said that he was tired of getting complaints from customers like myself and he had quit but was kind enough, after trashing your company, to give me the number to his district manager Mike. And guess what, I called Mike, told him all I wanted to do was confirm that someone was coming on the 8th and 9th and that everything would be completed.
Told Mike what Bruce said about the company, gave him my confirmations and he promised to call me back by Friday. SHOCKING. Here I am Monday and have not heard from Mike. Clearly Bruce was correct about the company. No call back from Carlos or the DM Mike. Yet I paid in full as required almost a month ago. And I will add that I did everything else as requested. All my flooring and trim have been removed and all the appliances are out of the house. So imagine how upset I was to be told on the 28th, sorry we had too many call offs this holiday weekend. And yes, that is what I was told. This was my first time doing business with you and it will be my last. You promise 1/2 price and next day installation. Then you quote a price of 18k and a 4 week install. Very disappointed.
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention, this is not the level of service we want for our customers. We take your concerns seriously and will be following up with you soon to discuss your experience.
Thank you.

My wife and I ordered carpet to be installed today, June 6, a Monday. To prepare for installation, we both took the day off and emptied pretty much our entire home. Expecting the installers to arrive, or at least call, we heard nothing. So being the proactive guy I am, I called the company, and was told someone would call me back shortly. Soon after, they did, and also informed me that the carpet did not come in to their warehouse and would not be installed today. I asked if there was anything at all that could be done, and told them that my home was pretty much sitting in my driveway in preparation for the installation.
I was told no, and then nothing. We lost connection. I did not receive a call back and had to call the 1-800-588-2300 number to ask what to do. They also could not get in touch with my local office. I was giving a ticket number and told that someone would call me back within 24 hours. I also attempted to call the sales rep who came to our home, left a message and have not heard back. I couldn't be more unsatisfied with this level of customer services across the board. We are losing money due to taking time off, and are now sitting in a virtually empty home, not having ANY idea what-so-ever what to do. Thanks Empire.
We understand that your time is valuable and we sincerely regret that you were inconvenienced by a missed installation and lack of communication. We want to make things right and we will be in contact with you soon.

Ordered three rooms of carpet on 5/21/16. On 5/28/16 the installers arrive at my home with two rooms of carpet and refused to install, stating that they can only install the complete sale of three rooms. On 6/4/16 the installers arrived with one room of carpet stating that the carpet for the other two rooms were not given to them. We had no success contacting anyone from Empire, received no return calls. We prepaid for three rooms and after three weeks we have no carpet. Empire knows how to take your money, but in regards to customer service they completely dropped the ball. No regards for the customer. DO NOT use this company. We are still waiting for a call from Empire, still waiting for our carpet.
Thank you for reaching out to us about your installation appointment. We understand your frustration, and we will be following up with you soon.

I had vinyl floor installed in the living room and dining room. I couldn't get what I really wanted because I had a flaw in the floor and would have to take up that area, but I didn't want to go through that so I went with the vinyl flooring. It looks like wood and I like it a lot. Everybody who came in my house and saw the floor said they liked it too.

Last summer we had our kitchen floors done by Empire Today and they look quite nice. We recently got a new dishwasher and realized that they had not replaced the floor under the dishwasher and now there was not only a gap, but a shard of old, broken tile sticking out. I called Empire and at first they were going to charge me for putting the flooring under the dishwasher, but after explaining that it was just as mobile as the the fridge and stove and I had paid for the entire kitchen, they finally agreed to fix the error at no extra cost. I made an appointment and asked if I needed to have anything done prior to the arrival of the flooring. They assured me that I didn't. The gentleman arrived and said he couldn't do anything until they super shut the water off, so would come back at a later date. I made another appointment with an arrival window of 9:00am-6:00pm.
In the early morning I received a call from customer service that they would be coming in the morning. As the father of a toddler, I called after a couple of hours to see if they had an ETA as it would be great if I could at least go to the park for bit. I was informed at that time that the flooring wasn't in stock and that no one was coming on that day. Had I not called when I did, I would have waited until 6:00pm for no one. Once the flooring was conformed to be in stock, I made another appointment, which was for this past Tuesday, May 31st. In the morning, I again received a call that they would be coming and was even given a window of between 1:30pm and 2:30pm, which I really appreciated (I have that message saved on my phone). At 3:00pm I called back the contact number and left a message. I did the same at 4:00pm, 5:00 and finally at 6:15 went out to dinner as clearly no one was coming.
The next day I called customer service and was quite upset and demanded that they make the next appointment with a morning window since they had been so negligent with all of the other appointments. I was told I would hear back from a manager and today, Sunday, June 5th, am still awaiting a call back. I am absolutely disgusted with the lack of communication, customer service and professionalism I have received from Empire Today.
We are saddened to hear how you feel. We understand your frustration and sincerely regret that you were inconvenienced by a missed installation appointment. We will follow up with you shortly to address your concerns.

We're going to sell the house and put it on the market and so we had some vinyl installed in the entryway and then new carpeting throughout the rest of our house. Lowe's had a special ad but we decided to go with Empire Today because they gave me the options so I could see what would work best for the property. The cost was great, and the quality and the people who installed everything were very good. I didn't realize that the stairs had a definition until we put the new carpeting in it. The carpet is very nice, cushy and clean-looking. It's really great. I've recommended Empire Today to people.

I was comparing prices for my project and the only reason I hired Empire Today is because the sales rep assured me that if anything goes wrong Empire will make sure that they FIX it. Even if it is a wood color that I didn't like. I had my floor installed a couple of months back. I was told that they only work weekdays and the project will take 6-7 hrs.
The installers didn't show up until 10:30 am. They didn't finish the work and started packing up without even telling me that they are leaving at 4 pm. When I asked they said they will come back tomorrow; like I DO NOT HAVE A JOB??? They were supposed to show up at 8 am the next day and I got a call at 6:45 am that "HE" is standing outside my door. I told him that his appointment was at 8 am and he didn't respond. Two other installers showed up later and they were just rushing to "FINISH" the job. When I did the inspection I told them that the installation is not right and the quarter rounds have nails visible. They said this is the best they can do. I called the sales rep and he assured me that it will be taken care of.
Another day another appointment and the installer comes in to inspect the floor and realized it is not glued properly. it creaks when you walk on it. He said he will need to order more wood and needs to schedule another day for installation. He scheduled a Sunday on a long weekend since he cannot work on Saturdays. We didn't make any plans for the weekend since we had this appointment and sent a text to my sales guy to confirm the appointment on Friday evening. I was told that my appointment is on Saturday - SURPRISE!!! I got a call from Empire today on Saturday morning at 8 am that the installer had a family emergency and they will need to reschedule. I told her that my original appointment was on Sunday and she said that she will call the installer and call me right back to confirm - Have not heard back from her yet - been a week already.
I wish I would have read reviews online before trusting them. This 6-7 hrs job has turned into few months and I am still waiting for a resolution. Take my advice-- do not hire them. Just go to Lowes or Home Depot. At least they stand behind their work. I have hired them for other projects in past and never had an issue. I would give them a ZERO star if I could.
We never want our customers to be disappointed in our service, and we regret that you did not enjoy your experience with us. We will follow up soon to works towards a solution.

I shopped around, and Empire Today's flooring has better quality at a better price, so I had them install the carpet in the basement of our home. My salesperson got me a really good price for it and I like the color and texture of our flooring.

The salesman Brandon ** was really polite but we told him to wait so we can sleep on it and he was really consistent that if we didn't sign that day we couldn't get the sale that was only available that day and because it was the end of the week we believed him, but we noticed that there didn't seem to be any discount add to our ending bill. Our nightmare started the next day, my husband told me that the price of the hardwood floors was strangely high, we began calling Empire Today so we could get a statement so we could figure out exactly what we were paying for each square foot, material and labor. We went back and forth with calls with the company but since March we haven't resolved anything.
Brad ** asked to e-mail them three different estimates from different companies so we did and we told them they overcharged us. We told them, "You can go to any mom and pop shop and you can get much better prices with much better material," and after that they never contact us back. I called them and they told me that they aren't going reimburse us anything. I'd also like to mention that the hardwood floors were placed very badly, they feel like they're floating on another layer and they also slide up and down, which they aren't supposed to do. I called them so they can came and fix it, but since two week ago they haven't return my call. It's just really sad that people from this company are this abusive and think that we are never going to notice. Please, please save yourself some money, time and try to get two or three more estimates.
We are disappointed to hear that you were not satisfied with the price and service you received. We will investigate further and follow up with you soon to discuss.
Thank you.

I have bought from Empire in my prior home and it was an ok experience. This new home needed carpet and the sales person in my home was good. I placed order and I then needed insurance papers from Empire for my homeowners assn. This was a nightmare to obtain and I still don't have it. I pushed back delivery every week for 3 weeks and finally I decided to set install for Tuesday after Memorial Day. I called and reconfirmed my appt Friday before the long weekend. I moved almost my entire house either outside or into my kitchen dining room or bathrooms. 3 kids sleeping on floors with no toys since Sunday night.
Tuesday 7 am I get a call saying my carpet is out of stock and cannot be installed this day. No ETA either. He said he would call back by end of day, which he did to say he still did not have ETA and he would call me tomorrow. He did not call back as of 1 pm the next day so I called him and he said carpet can be installed Friday morning. I have been displaced for 4 days. Why was our confirmed order and installation date for Tuesday suddenly cancelled? Why does Empire not have a way to check stock of carpet and actually hold it for customers to be able to meet normal expectations of customers?
I have not had my carpet installed yet, it's supposed to happen tomorrow but I am beyond frustrated and not expecting anything great. I called customer service and was told that this happens and it's no big deal. It's a huge deal for me to not be able to eat at my kitchen table and having 5 people sleep on the floor. So upset. My sales person never responded to my text or call to him asking for his assistance.
Thank you for bringing your concerns with your installation experience to our attention. We never want our customers to be disappointed in the work that is done in their homes, and we will be contacting you shortly to learn more about the situation.

I just had Empire do some work for me, for the first time, and I thought others might be interested in knowing why I am so unhappy and could never in good conscious refer you to any of my family or friends. My wife and I have used Express Flooring on 4 previous projects with good success, no issues, no problem. Projects started on time and finished on time. When it came time to install hardware flooring on our stairway and upstairs hall and carpet three bedrooms including the master bedroom we thought we would get Empire involved for some comparison pricing because it was a good sized job. Empire provided us with a good quote and the Empire Sales Rep matched Express Flooring's price plus $100.00. We decided to select Empire, we were happy with the sales rep and he assured us, of course, that we would be happy.
Our hardware install date was Tuesday the 24th and was scheduled for two days. Here is a bulleted description of events: The crew was scheduled for between 8 and 10 AM, they didn't show until noon, they worked until 5 PM. The second day they finished the hallway upstairs only. They had to come back a third day to install the stairs. They showed up late, took a lot of breaks including long phone calls. We had to move the carpet install from Thursday the 26th to Friday the 27th because the hardwood wasn't complete. This was going to make our departure to Vegas a tight one. At 5 PM on Thursday the 26th the hardwood floor installers said they were going to come back on Friday to finish. I objected and told them I wanted them to stay and finish and clean up. They left at 8:30 PM. My wife and I did about 2 hours of clean up, including all the debris outside so we could get them out.
On Friday morning I got a call from the installation department saying that there was an issue and they would not be able to carpet on Friday. There went the Vegas trip. I called the Sales Manager in the Phoenix office and complained, telling him that our trip to Vegas was now ruined. (He was at the lake for an extended weekend - glad he could do that). He assured me that he would have an installer at our home first thing Saturday morning to do the carpet. The carpet installer didn't show up until 12:30 PM. The office forgot or did not schedule properly, because they called an installer who had the day off, and at the last minute scheduled him to do this project. He left at 9 PM without finishing the project. Apparently they did not given him enough carpet for the master closet. We were to have an installer out Tuesday to finish, but they informed us that it would now be Wednesday before the truck would be available with the balance of the carpet.
They scheduled us for Wednesday (today June 1) for between 8 and 10 PM, the installer showed up at 1:30 PM. So a 3-day job took up 8 days of our time. The job is now complete. On Tuesday I called the office General Manager and asked him if he was aware of the poor service and why I would be unhappy. He was not and after I explained he assured me that they would have the installer at the home to finish on Wednesday morning (today) and that he would call me at 1 PM to see how the final part of the install went and talk to me about some reimbursement because I shouldn't have had to do clean up work. Wow! The GM never called. My wife and I are kicking ourselves for not selecting Express. Working with Empire has been a nightmare so I'm sure you will understand I would never use Empire again and why I will share my experience on social media so that others might take a hard second look.
We have read your review and are sincerely sorry to hear that your Empire experience was not a great one. We never want our customers to be disappointed in our service, and we will be contacting you soon to discuss the situation in more detail.

I tried to have new carpet installed by Empire. I was told that my installation would take place on 31 May 2016 and that the installers would come at 0800. The installers didn't show up until around 1200 and demanded payment prior to installing. I tried calling Empire, and after a 20-minute wait, the individual that answered hung up on me before I could even speak. I called again, and after another 20 minute wait, I asked for a manager, and I was told that they were all in a meeting. I was a bit rude since I felt that it was impossible that a supervisor or manager wasn't available, and the associate hung up on me. Again, I called back and finally talked to a manager that confirmed my suspicion that I was lied to and that managers were present.
I tried to rectify the issues and was informed that I could not be charged for the installation by state law until everything was complete (surprise surprise), but a request for funds would be placed to ensure the job could be paid for. After hours of trying to fix the situation, I decided to cancel the installation, but after talking to Rubin (apparently from corporate), he assured me that the installation would happen on the 1st of June and that I would receive a discount and he would personally call me if there were any issues, to include the installers running late. I was then transferred to another associate for payment and was initially given the wrong amount for the job since they didn't factor in the down payment I had already given.
After resolving that issue, I thought I was on track for my installation on the 1st of June, but no one came for the installation, so I called Rubin back since he had given me his number just in case any other issues occurred. I came to find out that there was again miscommunication, and my installation wasn't taking place until the 2nd of June, though I was assured that everything would be taken care of today. I was offered another discount, but at this point, it seems like the consistency of failure outweigh any price that I could be given since I have spent numerous hours in the past day trying to rectify this situation.
Now after another conversation in regards to the installation, I was told that the installers would be at my house on the 2nd of June by 0800. It is now 1000 and I haven't received a call or any kind of information to what is going on. I'm currently trying to cancel my order and receive a full refund for the utter failure at every level of Empire. I wouldn't recommend Empire to anyone given all of the issues that I have had and I would encourage you as a consumer to conduct further investigation in regards to other complaints from Empire since this seems to almost be standard in terms of horrible customer service and below-par installation jobs.

We had them also do the kitchen floor with Armstrong Tile. The people who did the carpet and the floor were very professional and didn’t take breaks. They got the floor in for us. However, I had one tile that developed a blister. Empire Today came back out within a couple of days. They took that particular tile up and used one of the spares. I received a lot of promotions from Empire for carpet services but I am truly disappointed when I placed my first order with Empire. For the initial estimate, the guy was supposed to show up at 7PM on Wednesday. I waited till 8:30 when I called customer service to know that he had a car issue and wasn't going to make it that night. If I had not called them, I'd have waited the whole night. For the carpet installation, customer service called me on the day of installation to tell me that they can't come out because they don't have technicians available. I took off work so I can wait for them and that's all they have to say? What kind of business are they running? In addition, I received an email for $300 for memorial promotion with free estimate. So when I mentioned that, they said that they did a price matched for me already so that promotion is inapplicable to my order.

The sales person contacted us the day of the installation telling us that they do not have the wood in stock after almost one month from the original meeting. Also he did not care that we had to take the day off from work, and did not apologize. He cared more about his sale than his customers. His name was Jaime. And when calling the customer service reps they all had attitude and said that a person will contact us back with our concerns and never did. I think me and my husband had to call them at least 20 times. If you are able to not have to deal with them, I would not recommend them to anyone. If you have issues they will not be resolved. OK we were told that we were getting professional installation. I think not. We had an engineered linoleum tile installed in 2 bathrooms. The installers said they were not allowed to remove the toilets and wanted my wife to remove them. She had to show them where it said that they would remove and reinstall the toilets. They did break a water line in the process but their customer service did cover that.
Two days later they came out to install a dark walnut laminate in the game room. The game room has a dark wood layers paneling in it. The trim was supposed to be "Gunstock" which is a stained wood. They tried to install white. We stopped them and were told that the warehouse was out and that they would reschedule the trim install.
We rescheduled the install for the next Friday. The installer called on Friday and we tried to verify that he had the correct trim. All he had was white!!! So now we have another appointment this Friday. Upon further inspection I have found that the tiles are not installed properly in the master bath as the tiles in front of the toilet are running at an angle and not parallel with the wall or the bath. So every time you sit on the toilet you have to see proof of the "professional installation". Also looking at the game room which has a tile walkway on one side the transition that was installed is all walnut like the flooring except one piece which is cherry and is wider and a different design!! Do not use this company!

They did it in the family room, three bedrooms and hallways. Everything was good and our salesman was super nice.

I ordered blinds for my home and they were installed days later than scheduled. (I took the day off from work for the original installation date.) The customer service rep said they were going to deduct $75 from the price for the inconvenience. (Never been credited as promised.) After the first installation, one of the blinds was like 2" too short. They returned weeks later to replace the blind but when they did this, it was off. It did not line up with the other 2. These windows are high rise windows and are side by side. So the alignment is crucial for the aesthetics of the space. The installer took photos and called the installation incomplete. It's been at least one month since this installation and I've received no calls with the replacement of this blind. I wish someone would call me about this.

The reason for the abysmal rating mainly stems from the company's return policy. When we 1st dealt with Empire, the sales rep was very professional and courteous (even sending a message that he would be a few minutes late). When I requested the most reasonable option, I was aghast by the initial quote and he managed to give me his best price after some negotiation. This deal required a 1/4 deposit which I paid via credit card. After some comparison shopping later that day, Empire's best offer was approx. 3-4 times as much so I proceeded to cancel the order the following business day (well within their 3 business day cancellation period).
When I called, the customer service rep keeps misunderstanding that I was calling about a rescheduling of the measurement. I had to explain a few times that this is a cancellation call so was finally given a confirmation number. A few days later, I had inquired about cancelling the wells fargo account for the financing and an eta for my return to which they responded 30 business days.
The deposit charge was made on 3/20 and I just received my refund during the last week of may and Empire had nothing to do with this. I had to contact my credit card directly and dispute the charge. This is something that I should've done from the outset. Since 3/20, I had made numerous attempts via email and calls regarding the status of my refund. Since the aforementioned 30 day business day email, I received no responses via email and the customer service reps I spoke to had to call another office to call me back but none ever did. When I last called, the confirmation number that I gave referenced a rescheduling of the measurement as opposed to a cancellation. However, I never received calls about a reschedule so this clearly is a spurious claim.
For those on a meager budget, I would not recommend calling this company 1st, if at all. I don't understand why you're paying 3-4 times more than their competitors. I tried to justify the cost but it just doesn't add up (i.e., is it due to the "lifetime warranty" or the installation cost - but I had to remove the old blinds myself so they wouldn't charge me $20 per blind but this is what their competitors are charging to remove the old blinds and install the new). I already informed some friends looking to redo their blinds to look elsewhere. Also, this review is not the only one critical of their refund policy. Apparently, you need to make your concerns public in order to finalize your refund or don't bother dealing with them at all and just contact your credit card company posthaste. Empire's customer service ceases to exist during the refund process.
Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. We regret that your Empire experience was not a great one. We assure you that we take your concerns seriously, and we will follow up with you soon to address this matter.

We had carpeting done by Empire in our living room. We liked the way the salesman handled it for the most part. The cost is a little bit less compared to other companies. Moreover, the people who installed the carpet were really nice. It was a good experience. The carpet is stain-resistant and although we had a little problem with the carpet, they came back and took care of it two days later. We've already recommended Empire Today to two people and I know one of them already bought.

Ordered brand new luxury vinyl plank in my whole house. We were assured by our salesman (Whom turns out just fed us a bunch of lies, just to land the deal, and fell short of doing anything he promised) that we would have a 'team of veterans out here' to install our floors in 2-3 days. The installer was one individual, and he thought he'd cover nearly 1900 sq ft in one day!
He rushed through the job and managed to damage my house in several areas. He not only failed to level the subfloor before install. He cut razor scratches into 200+ of my brand new planks! He cut up my cabinetry kick boards. He even managed to unbalance my dishwasher, put my toilet in very far off center, and broke the linkage, because it cannot be lifted without unhooking the cable. (The toilet has a one button for pee, and another button for poo. Not the standard generic toilet 'guts'.) He even failed to line up all the millwork, which I had meticulously labelled with permanent marker and corresponding numbers on masking tape where each piece was to be reinstalled.
He of course was unable to finish in 1 day, and rushed through the work, so poorly the 2nd day, that he didn't even remember he needed to bring a saw which could cut 44-46 degree angles for all the corners! So rather than getting the tool and coming back, he just called it good leaving over a dozen pieces unattached. (I cut all the pieces I broke to size with my skill saw, however didn't attempt the edge cut, because I didn't have the right saw for the job.) After 2 business days, when the customer service representative Amy in Seattle, chose to call us back, she began by accusing my wife of lying! She claimed there was no way the installer did this sort of damage, and assured me it'd all be 'replaced', 'reinstalled' in one day.
Well she sent out Gary, who was willing and able to fix all the millwork. However she didn't even send him with a toilet ring to begin to tackle that mess. He also was only sent with 5 boxes when this job is going to take well over 30 boxes, if he was even able to meticulously remove most of the existing planks and solely had to replace all the damaged ones. This doesn't begin to address my cabinetry damage, nor my ajar dishwasher! The guy didn't even plug in my stove which I paid him to move. (So I was forced to move it myself, on felt pads, which he chose not to use.) Where he moved my fridge and toilet there are skid marks and wax slicks respectively.
I was so furious I began the claims process, to get this matter resolved immediately. We spent over $7,500 on these brand new floors, and they offered me a measly $750 for my damages! Without even replacing the marred pieces, fixing my toilet or my dishwasher or cabinets! I decided to contact our Attorney General here in WA, as well as the BBB, and will begin posting bad reviews on every possible site I can find, to hopefully save some other honest folks from suffering what we are going through!
They make many promises, and quite frankly commit gross negligence, as well as fraud of their contracts; contract fraud occurs when one party in a contract presents information to another that is incorrect, deceitful, or meant to confuse. We were told it would take a few days, to have the floors done right the first time. We were told everything was going to be fixed by the 2nd installer. Then came the claims specialist, and finally it's been 10 days since these problems were brought to their attention, yet nothing has happened!
I have wasted countless hours, just trying to get the corporation to acknowledge that there is a problem, and their solutions aren't solving any of my problems. Anyone in their right mind, would be irate at this point. As soon as they got our money, they really quit communicating. As potential customers we got routine calls daily. As unhappy as we are, we just asked for our money back, in order to hire a competent crew to redo our entire house. (We still are going to hire professionals to fix the cabinets, the toilet and the dishwasher as well!)
Funny thing is, we were thinking of using Empire for our homes shutter blinds, but after this fiasco even if they give us our money back, I highly doubt we'd consider using Empire for any other job EVER! Their own warranty guarantees the workmanship will be performed without defect for 1 year! We didn't even get to enjoy our new floors for one day, and we've wasted over a week trying to get some resolve! Just trust me, go with Home Depot, or Lowe's... as they both offer price matching as well, and are much more reputable corporations to work with. At least when something goes wrong they are honorable and keep to their contracts! In this case, I have tried to reach someone higher up the corporate food ladder than customer service, but they fail to connect me with the VP or head of the Western WA franchise! I hope they reconsider, before I am forced to seek legal representation regarding this matter!
If I could give them negative stars I would have. I cannot believe there aren't class action lawsuits against them right now, for running a business solely for profit, without even actually considering the customers! I am looking for a refund. But if you have experienced anything like this, please do get in touch, so we can get together and see whether we have an actionable case cooperatively! I want to see my installer actually pay out his surety insurance bond, to help offset the damages to my home! I don't think he should still have a job, let alone be defended by the corporation as 'doing 90 percent of their luxury vinyl installs'! This frankly scares me to consider. (I wonder how many people out there got razor score marks all over their brand new floors when Antoine did their installs?)
I am not going to accept work that doesn't end up as I was promised. Which simply put was wall to wall, without transitions, level and flush luxury vinyl plank floors. What I got was worse than myself and my 4 year old would have produced! Apparently Empire doesn't care, because I felt insulted with a $750 offer. Seriously just buying the materials to replace half of my floors, which is an earnest guess, since many pieces are bound to break in the attempts to remove the existing floors for replacement, as they interlock under tension. 10 percent is not an acceptable offer, when you consider the need to install via remove, replace, actually level subfloor. Just getting the plumber and pieces to fix toilet, dishwasher and specialist to resurface my cabinetry... will likely cost more than that measly $750! How absurd!
I have included a couple pictures which show the surface area of damaged floors. It is like this in every room, every closet, throughout the house! And if you get close enough, you can easily see the score marks which cut down into the core of the planks! This is not acceptable, everyone could agree? They promise refunds if they fail to deliver on quality, yet when it is apparent, they act like that is not an option! I am emotionally taxed, and quite frankly tired of being ignored. Good luck guys.

I called Empire after seeing the advertisement for 50% off products and services. I had already had another estimate. First, the guy shows up and when I asked about the sale he states, "Well, that's irrelevant because we'll match competitors prices." Confused at how that's relevant to EMPIRE's sale price, I asked again and he quickly stated only two products were on sale and basically just blew me off and moved on showing me products. Now again, I'd been looking at different carpets and their specs. I mentioned things to him like "BCF" and "polyester or nylon" as well as "face weight." He seemed irritated that I knew what I was talking about and said, "Come on you're getting a little too technical now." He then pulled out different samples and said, "Can you even tell which is which quality?" I picked the cheap one and he said, "Oh, you noticed the warranty didn't you?"
I might add the prices were RIDICULOUS at $5-8 a sq ft where comparable carpets sold for around $2.50-3 a sq ft. When I got a reasonable deal I agreed to the install being tired of shopping. Well, first they rescheduled my first install appt. Ok, fine. Then when install day came they called me to confirm my install appt for the next day. They gave me an order number and sent the confirmation email too. That morning comes and I hear nothing so I call. I'm told, "No, you're on for tomorrow now. But that's funny, we don't even have any installers until next week."
I said, "Are you kidding me?! Our beds are all torn down, our electronics disconnected, a giant heavy armoire is moved and now no carpet?!" The manager advised me she would try to get installers tomorrow and try to get a discount. I waited nearly all day and no return call. Finally I called back and was told she was gone to lunch. No callback. I called and canceled with another manager. Now let's see if I get my deposit. Empire is a nightmare!!!

We placed an order for standard carpet installation and tile on 5/3/2016. The tile was completed. The carpet install was scheduled for yesterday 5-26. We received 2 confirmation calls (one on 5/24 and one on morning of install from customer service). We also received an email confirmation during the week to confirm. The email provides explicit instructions on how to prepare for the install. Abiding by the terms of our agreement we emptied out our house only to get a call 30 minutes after we got the call confirming our appointment telling us the carpet had not come in yet. What? You have to be kidding me? Our order was placed 3 weeks ago.
I contacted my Sales Rep and she gave me the 800 number to call and ask for 'Brett'. I told her 'I do not want to be placed on hold for 30' (as this has been a pattern when trying to call customer service) and be given the run around so she gave me Brett's number. He works in the warehouse. So I had to leave a message for Brett. He called back and said he does not have an 'ETA?' Again I ask. What went wrong? Our order was placed over 3 weeks ago. He of course had no answer. So I waited and waited, called and text messaged throughout the day. I got another 'automated' message saying our install was scheduled for 5/27... which is today. I contacted my sales rep and told her I got an 'automated' message. I don't believe any automated messages that I get from Empire any longer.
It is now 10:04 a.m. on Friday morning and I just now got a call from Customer Services. The representative once again told me our carpet had not come in yet. What? I ask again? The carpet we ordered was nothing high end and we were told it was in stock. What happened to Empire's Sales Value Proposition? 'Order one day and have installed the next?' My Sales Rep said she forwarded my email of concern to her GM Mr. Brian **. This was sent the evening of 5/26. I have not heard from him or any of his team members. So our home is turned upside down for who knows how many more days. It is a 3 day holiday weekend.
Update: I just got off the phone with Customer Service and an 'auto email' once again came in that my carpet is scheduled for 5/28. That is a complete lie. I just got off the phone with customer service and she just got done telling me she does not know if the carpet will be in for an install tomorrow and would be calling me. Really? What is going on? Does anyone care? No proactive calls from anyone from Management being apologetic so I have to resort to Consumer Affairs to be heard. Really? This is horrible customer service. If I ran my business like this I would be out of business. Completely dissatisfied.

We live in NW Ohio. For anyone else who lives in this area, BEWARE of a salesman named Dave. Dave came to our house, measured & submitted our order. When the installers arrived, they asked if we were having flooring installed throughout the kitchen. We replied yes, that the new flooring goes everywhere. They then explained that Dave hadn't measured correctly, so they didn't bring enough material. When he was called, he claimed he couldn't talk as he was with another customer. Apparently, once he makes a sale, he no longer cares about past customers. He confessed to one of the installers that he made a mistake on the estimate. He then assured us that someone from Empire would be contacting us that very same night to set up an appointment to finish the job. That was on a Monday. No one called us Monday night as promised.
When I called the 800 number, I was told that no one was available to speak to reference Dave's mistake. No one called us Tuesday, so I went through the whole process again. Still no installation date. No one called us Wednesday, so again I went through the whole process. Still no installation date. On Thursday I was beyond irritated and called the 800 number because still no one from Empire had bothered to contact us. I spoke to an excellent customer service rep named Orlando. He went above and beyond, calling and leaving messages for multiple people. He also commented that someone named Latisha (or something like that) had noted on our account that she had called us. I have one word for her: Liar. We have cellphones with caller ID and voicemail, along with a home telephone that also has caller ID and an answering machine. She NEVER called us.
I then called the salesman Dave and left him a message telling him to call us immediately. He finally calls back and acts surprised that we weren't taken care of yet. Great acting. Then he tells us he's going to run to his car and grab the phone number of someone from Empire that we can speak to. That phone call back from him never happened. I didn't hold my breath as he had lied to us for 5 days. Brian, the installation manager, then called us. This was Thursday night. He guaranteed us that someone would be out that Saturday to finish the installation. A whole 13 square feet. On Saturday, no installers. I called Brian. He called me back, apologizing as he had forgotten to schedule an installer. He then arranged for installers to come to our house that Sunday. We finally got the job finished.
We had told Dave when he first came to our home that we would consider Empire for carpeting in the rest of our home if they did a good job on the kitchen floor. 3 bedrooms, living room, dining room, closets, foyer, landings and stairs. That will NEVER happen. I will tell anyone and everyone to double and triple check that the salesman knows his job as ours obviously didn't. And when the installers call to say they're on their way, double check to make sure that they have enough flooring. We had no idea that we needed to do this as we thought the salesman was competent. He wasn't, and we paid for it.
Thank you for making us aware of your concerns. We regret that your experience was not a great one and will follow up with you soon to help resolve this situation.

The installers were very professional. They came, did the job, completed it and made sure I was happy before they left. They did a great job. The new flooring is beautiful. I love the wood! We had the linoleum installed by Empire Today previously and they were having a sale so we got a carpet from them. We had it installed at the downstairs, hallway, TV room, and bedroom of our home. The stairs is our favorite feature of the flooring. It's soft, easy to clean, and we like its color. It's good that they've met our expectations.

white crayon. No one in their right mind would order this disgusting looking flooring. We were shown one square of this tile. It had no white squiggly lines like the floor they put in. I'm just sick with this disgusting looking flooring. I'm embarrassed to even let my family see this flooring. I don't see that we should pay to have this flooring removed or even replace tiles that don't have these white squiggly streaks in them. This is not our fault, as we were not told this flooring would look like this.
I would of preferred a manager come out and look at this horrible flooring and ask if he would put this mess in his kitchen. It took over a week for them to call and
tell us we would have to pay for a box of this tile over $200.00 to replace the most disgusting tiles with this squiggly lines in them. Well that's like 90% of these tiles
with these disgusting squiggly lines in them. So what is one box of tile going to do? I think this tile was something they couldn't sell, rejects but didn't tell us that.
Plus it took over a week for them to tell us this disgusting deal of theirs.
Updated on 05/31/2016: Received your notice today that this matter was resolved. I'm not satisfied with their arrangement. My husband might have squared off with them. But I think they should of removed this flooring with all these squiggly lines, not charged us for that and put in a decent floor. After all, this is not the flooring I waited 30 yrs to have put in... I just can't believe they told my husband there is nothing else out there besides this supposedly stone looking flooring. As for me, I will never be satisfied with this flooring...

I made a call to get floor and carpet on a 594 sq ft area. The sales person was nice to come but I could tell he was used to bigger jobs. Nevertheless, he was courteous and proceeded to give an estimate which I accepted. The work was to be done the following Monday. The subcontractor was to show up at 9:00 AM but did not show up until about 10:30 am. As soon as he put a foot at the door, he immediately began to make comments about the popcorn ceiling possibly having asbestos. From the front door you could see how small 594 sq ft are, we saw his expression that he was not expecting such a small job. He immediately said he could not put his hand on any of the work without certification that there was no asbestos based on his assumption that the popcorn ceiling may have it. Then he went on to say that it will take at least 4 days before he or anyone else could come to the job site.
With that info, I called to cancel the order and look for other source for my flooring. The job was done within 2 days. Yet, I'm still out of my money because Empire Today cannot get my order cancelled and CANNOT process my refund. My order was submitted on 4/21/16 is now 5/19/16 and I'm still struggling to get my refund. This has to be illegal. Also, on 5/19 I requested the number for the Office of The President and no one will provide it to me. The Office of the President SHOULD always be made available to any client who request it. What is the use if a dissatisfied customer cannot reach them!

I love my new flooring. It looks beautiful. My sales agent Cris was awesome. She went above and beyond for us and was great to work with. We had a couple of hiccups in the process that were on our end and she was able to keep it moving for us. I have no complaints at all about the sales process, the timeline, or the installation. Everything was wonderful and was exactly as I expected. However, I've never received a bill in the mail and today I got a call that said I'm delinquent. I can't be delinquent if I've never received a bill. I have no account information or a mailing address to pay.
I don't know if Empire Today is using a third-party billing service but there seems to be a gap there and they claim that they sent it. I verified my address with them and they had it correct so I don't know why I've never gotten anything. It's probably just a clerical error somewhere. I said I was not going to pay over the phone. They gave me a 1-800 number, my account number and a PO Box. I'll be able to take care of the bill.

April of 2015 I had Empire out to give a price on carpet install. I was very very specific during their visit that whatever I installed had to be able to stand up to wheelchair/walker for my disabled mom. I started emailing them and calling after about 7 months to get them to come out and look at the worn and flattened spots in my carpet. Eventually got them to come out. Their response was to put a throw rug over the spots and have the carpet professionally cleaned... anyone with half a brain knows that putting throw rugs down is the worst and least safe thing you can do with a fall-risk patient living in the house. They went on to tell me that it is normal wear and tear and basically there is nothing they will do. I am so displeased. I really wish I could have my old carpet back – it looked better than what I have (and it was at least 12 years old).
Updated on 06/10/2016: My earlier complaint was marked as "solved." It is far from resolved. Someone contacted me, finally, the resolution they offered: Pay $1200 to replace carpet or use the carpet set aside for the closet to patch that spot, leaving me with no carpet to install in the closets. Several times it was reiterated that using throw rugs in high traffic areas is recommended (this is in front of the couch). Again, I reminded them of the disabled person in the house who has walking and balance issues and asked if they were assuming liability for any falls or injuries that result from the throw rugs. The representative was extremely nice and friendly, I just wish she would have had a positive or helpful resolution.
I just wish when I was sold this carpet the representative (different person) had been honest and recommended a carpet that would have been more durable instead of just selling me something to make a sale. Again, the rep was in the house, saw my disabled mom and her physical and mobility issues. None of this was a surprise. I went with her recommendation trusting her. I have since had a couple carpet people from other companies come out and they all say the thing, "This is the wrong carpet for a mobility challenged person." After a very lengthy conversation, the rep said she would go back and see what she could do. It's been over a week and nothing again.

We purchased laminate flooring in 2005 from Empire and were happy with the product. The installers were friendly and left us some extra boards for future replacements. In the last few years, some water spilled on the floor when we were out of town and warped a few of the boards. We were unsure of whether they were covered under warranty but wanted to get them replaced with the replacement boards that had been left with us. This is where the nightmare started. Over the last six weeks, I have called the toll-free number at least 6 times. On at least three occasions, I was told that someone would look into my file and get back to me within 24 hours. I never received any of these promised calls.
I was told that since we live in Canada that Empire no longer did business in Canada, but they had one installer in my area who could come and take a look at the floor. They said they would talk to the installer and have him call me within 24 hours. This call never took place. I called Empire back and was given the same promise. Again the installer never called me. A few weeks passed and I approached Empire again. This time they were able to get the installer to call me. He finally came to our house and said he would give us a quote for the job but that he had to get in touch with Empire to see if the product would be under warranty.
The installer blamed Empire for not calling him back after he left messages. Empire seemed to have no way of getting back in touch with the installer. On and on this went and I called Empire again this past weekend. After a lady kept putting me on hold to: "look into things" the line conveniently disconnected after 20 minutes of me being on hold for most of the time. For a company that prides itself on customer service, this service was embarrassing. I am glad they are no longer in Canada because I will never do business with them again.

I never received any sort of explanation as to why the Installation Manager did not respond to my requests for help on the day of installation, or why the installer thought it was appropriate to remain on site until 8:30pm. Nevertheless, the new floor that had to be cut to access the damaged heating pipe was satisfactorily fixed on Saturday the 20th. I provided Rick ** with a copy of my plumber's receipt for having to purge the system to get the heat running. I do not know if Empire plans to reimburse the plumber or me? For the record, I had a great experience with Empire when I had them do the flooring in my condo last summer. But this experience has given me pause about using Empire again.

My installation of LVT in two rooms occurred on Friday, the 13th of May. I now believe in bad luck days. It started off right away with the installer accidentally cutting into my baseboard heating water pipe in the dining room. This resulted in a big puddle of water on the floor and loss of water and heat in my home. I called my own plumber right away but did not want to pay for the work unless someone at Empire guaranteed to reimburse me. The installer said he would find and pay for a plumber himself. I was told a plumber could not get there until 6 pm. Shortly after, he asked me to speak with someone from Empire on his cell phone, whereby they were looking for authorization to charge me more money for some edging on the step between the dining room and kitchen.
There was an oak step edge already there but they told me they could take it off and do edging, however, when they took it off, it needed some plywood along the length of it. So I told them they should not have removed it as it was perfectly fine and they could have just brought the vinyl to put up right against it. No, I will not pay, put the oak back. The oak had been cut in half so it had a seam now showing. I called Empire, spent an incredible time on hold, talked with two people who assured me a manager would call me back. NO ONE EVER CALLED ME!
The installers were there until 8:30 pm, and oh yeah, the plumbers truck broke down so no one could come on Friday. Plumber came Saturday, repaired the pipe, but unfortunately did not purge the hot water heating system correctly, leaving air in the system and me without heat now for the 4th day today, which is Monday. My house is 55 degrees. In addition of course, the brand new floor had to be cut into to repair the pipe. Why they bothered putting the new floor in that area is a mystery to me as they knew very well it would need to be cut to repair the pipe! I called Empire this morning and someone is supposed to call me back with resolution. Maybe today, maybe not. Seriously?
We are incredibly surprised and disappointed to learn about the issues you have been experiencing. The level of installation you received is unacceptable. We will be following up you shortly to discuss this matter and start working towards a resolution.

We had some friends who had their carpeting installed by Empire and we liked what we saw when we went over their house. Also, our friends told us that Empire had the best deal going. The guys from Empire were real professional and the installation was very well done. The only thing that I was concerned about is that they started the installation about 11 in the morning and they were still here at 9:30 that night. They had everything pretty much done except for the stairs, so they ended up coming back the next day to finish it, which was fine. But had they gotten here earlier in the morning, they probably could have got the whole thing done in a day.
Another concern is that it's been over a month since the installation and there's one place where there is the seam. And on the entire seam, you can't see it at all and you can't tell that there's even a seam there. But on about a quarter of it, you actually see the seam. But overall, we are extremely satisfied with it and would recommend Empire Today.

Originally, we were looking at a much thicker carpet that was more expensive, but because of the price we came down a little bit. The quality's been great and other people that have come in to see it don't know that that's what we did and they thought it's great. The carpet is put together and the seams are well-hidden. I had a very small job done by Empire Today - a runner installed on the stairs going from my first floor to the second floor of my home. It cost $417.70 but they didn't make us pre-pay because they did a $6,000 job for us before. I wrote a check when the installers came. They took a picture of it and sent it to their office. Then the installers told me that I could just write "void" on it so I did and they put it with my paperwork for the job. They did the job and everything's fine. However last week, I receive a check in the mail for $852 from Empire flooring. I had no idea what that was until I took a look at my bank statement. Turns out, the day after they did the job, they took around $1,200 out of my checking account instead of $417.70. That wasn't right. I write checks out of that account and pay my residency taxes out of payroll from there as well. I base my checks on the amount of money I have in my account because I don't bounce checks.
As soon as I saw this, I run over to my bank and asked them how Empire was allowed to take that much money. I also told the bank and Empire that there's not a chance I'll be responsible for a bounced check. When I called Empire, the representative said that somebody will call me on Monday. But nobody called me on Monday, which is funny since the bank didn't call me either. They're not an easy company to call either. I was put on hold 50 times this morning and I was on hold for 20 minutes last Saturday morning. This whole process was terrible - worst customer service.
Empire took out this extra money and didn't notify us of any reason or rationale. We were very happy with them until this incident. It's the first and last incident we'll ever have with them because we won't go back since this is a huge issue. This is fraud! I don't care how great a job they did on my wood floors. They did the right thing by sending a refund, but they should've notified us immediately through email or phone call that there was a problem. Alternatively, they should've put a note in with the check saying why they're sending a check. They didn't do any of those. Hence, that money was deposited into another account, not the same account it came from because we had no idea there was a problem. God forbid, one of those checks to the government or to a friend of mine bounces. If any of it does, I'll post more negative things on Facebook and go to every social media so I can blast them - they deserve it.

By 10 after 11, I was trying to get into contact with Amy ** (customer service) and had to leave a message. I tried to contact a live person at the Chicago office but like always I had to leave a message. While I was contacting the 800 number the installers called to tell me they would be at my house in half an hour. This was at 11:15! Unacceptable considering the fact that Empire busted my appointment on Friday. It sure feels like my time means nothing to Empire.
Amy called and explained that the men were held up at the warehouse and that I was their first appointment. Seriously?! First appointment past 11:30? Or, I'm their first appointment and they can't get here BY 11. Not a good way to do business.Amy also explained that the time frame was ONLY an estimate and that things happen. That is a cop out and gives Empire a black eye.
I only wanted Empire to do what THEY (you) said you would. Once again, Empire fell short. I want to give you all a good review but can't because the customer service experience was so very poor. Yes, the problem has been resolved but I was forced to spend entirely too much time on it all. The installation (with the exception of the glue on my runner) was outstanding. We could have gotten a better price but we honestly love the carpet we now have. It is a shame that what would have otherwise been a great experience has been so marred by such poor customer service.

Empire Carpet came recommended by a coworker. Contacted the 877 number. Was put in contact with Justin Credible Flooring. Wanted the 50/50/50 "sale". It only covered the cheapest flooring so we didn't get that "deal". We were scheduled for installation for this past Tuesday. Got a call this Monday morning to be told the installers would be at my home between 9 and 11 am! I could reschedule if I wanted to. Excited to have my new carpet I said sure, come on! Two very nice gentlemen came to install the carpet. English was certainly their second language so there was quite the language barrier. We managed to get through the language difficulties. The installation took 5 hours. That's for 1 great room, a hallway and a set of stairs. Also the heavy lifting was done prior to the installers coming so they didn't have much furniture to move.
By the time they were finished (after 5 PM) I was tired and just wanted my house back. We managed to get most of the house put back together in short order. That's when I noticed the glue spot (about 2 1/2" in diameter) on a carpet runner in my entrance way. Here's where the problem comes in. I immediately called customer service, left a message and waited most of the next day to get a call back. I got the call back when I was away from my phone (of course). When I called customer service back I had to leave another message. Waiting until 1 PM the next day I decided to call them back again explaining that I would once again be unavailable after 3 PM. Nothing... I called again, mentioned my frustration and the woman scheduled an appointment without putting me through to customer service. Why couldn't that have been done in the first place?!
My appointment was scheduled at the end of the week. Now the glue has dried and sunk into my runner. Perfect... Received a call this morning (Friday) about 8 AM. They had to cancel my appointment. I rescheduled for this coming Monday. I am a seamstress and book my business appointments well in advance so having canceled my Friday appointments to make arrangements to have Empire out sometime between 9 and 6 only to be told that they were not coming really spun me up. I called Empire back to ask what happened to my Friday appointment and how can they make sure this doesn't happen this coming Monday the woman who called about the busted appointment apologized profusely and said I was "confirmed" for Monday so they would be here for sure. Well, I was confirmed for Friday, what's the difference?! She did offer me (and I took it) a $75.00 refund on the over $3000.00 I spent on my carpet.
I asked to speak with a manager only to be told there were none I could speak with! None were in but she would give one the message that I would like to speak with a manager. Yep, NO CALL. I've tried to contact my sales rep... No answer... I've tried to call Empire back about 4:30 PM only to get a "leave a message" recording... again. To say I'm frustrated is an understatement. I really wanted this to be taken care of before the weekend was out. Empire Carpet was quick enough to take my money but their customer service really needs some work. If this is resolved to my satisfaction I will be happy to amend my survey but for now I would find it difficult to recommend Empire to anyone!

The installers were not able to finish and another crew had to come out to complete the job. Okay, simple mistake, whatever.
Two years in with the new "top of the line" carpet we notice parts of the carpet breaking down. We had a carpet company come out and review the carpet and they said we had poor quality carpet, and that it's already breaking down and we should contact the company who we bought it from. They also showed us where the carpet was put in wrong down the hallway, causing some of the issues. So we called Empire since we had a 25 year warranty and they sent someone out to take pictures.
After about a week or so with no word from Empire or the guy who took the pictures, we called Empire in Cincinnati. We were told someone would call us the next day with an answer. Another week goes by and no answer. So we called Empire back and they said they were having issues with the Cincinnati branch and the case worker on our account quit. Awesome. So finally after a couple more days a lady said we were declined because we had a bad vacuum cleaner. Yes that is a true statement.
We asked to speak with this person's manager and she said they were having issues with turnover so someone from Cleveland office would call us. So now we're talking to someone in Cleveland about our carpet falling apart and he said out of goodwill he'll replace the carpet. All we would have to pay is $195 for installation. Okay, fine.
Then my wife and I thought, "Will the new carpet break down in two years like this one?" So we called our guy in Cleveland and asked if we could upgrade to hardwood and pay the difference, and he said it should be around $500.00 difference. Cool, let's try it. So a sales person comes out and starts off saying, "Let me go get the expense wood since this one's on Empire." Because of that statement we ask him, "Are we being charged for this?" He said Empire was covering it and that he'd work a deal if we got our kitchen done at the same time, trying to upsell us. He said everything would be okay and we'll make it work.
After he leaves we call our guy from Cleveland and he said the sales person was wrong, and we'd have to pay another $1,000 plus for the hardwood, which is higher than his initial $500.00 from earlier but now Empire has us down for a $2,700 job for our kitchen. We ask the guy in Cleveland to switch us to another manager because this is starting to get crazy. Now a guy from Chicago or Texas... I can't remember... calls us and says after reviewing everything we've been through he was going to upgrade the floor for $500.00 and work on a better deal for our kitchen. I told him, "The kitchen is not a concern and we would like to cancel our kitchen order, and focus on getting our repair done."
This new guy said he was going to be at the Dayton office later that week and he'd call us. He never called back. Instead, we get a call from an installer saying he's at our house on Saturday morning to install hardwood in our kitchen! How awesome is that?! So after we send him on his way I get another call from Empire wanting to reschedule our repair job since the kitchen was incorrect. She tells us May 14th, 2016 will be the new date for the repair with upgrade hardwood. On May 10th I get a call from the sales person who tried to upsell me a kitchen floor saying Empire told him to call us about a new room we're interested in so he could measure it. I told him we do not want anything new from Empire until our repair job was complete and he agreed and apologized for the headaches because he knew what we've been through with Empire.
After dealing with Empire now for several months I know better to trust their ability to be accurate so I called on May 12th, 2016 to ask about the 14th and the guy on the phone couldn't tell me much but said someone would call me back, and if the lady said the 14th then the 14th is when the job would be completed. Guess what? I call her today because once again I get no call back from Empire and guess whose appointment was canceled because the lady wanted the sales person to remeasure the repair area to make sure they had material. She informs me that she and the sales person must have had a miscommunication through email. Are you kidding me? He even said over the phone that this was a new work order and had nothing to do with the repair and that he was shocked we were even considering anything new through Empire.
My wife is about to explode so she calls the lady, wanting answers, and she informed my wife that she'll call her back before 5 p.m. today. She calls at 5:30 to tell me that May 14th will not happen and the new date is scheduled for May 17th but she even said, "We'll TRY and get it down on the 17th." Never again will I ever call Empire to do anything. I'm posting a blog at my place of work so no one here gets treated like my wife and I have. I will send an email to every family member I know and let them know my experience with Empire so that they don't experience what we have. Thanks for the headaches and troubles. I'm so glad we bought the "top of the line" carpet.

We had flooring put in through the majority of our house. Living, entryway, master bedroom, master bath, master closet and the hall closet. Early on we had issues with the flooring scratching really easy. They came and replaced the damaged area after some back and forth. We have been very cautious since. We paid a lot for this flooring and it was supposed to stand up to a lot. The whole reason I purchased it. Over the last couple of months I've been going back and forth with the area customer service because the flooring is gapping and in several areas, it is starting to buckle. It has been less than 3 yrs. since we had these floors put in.
Had a guy come and inspect the flooring April 5th and I've yet to hear from customer service. While speaking with the customer care person on my account, prior to the inspection, she stated that my particular flooring had been recalled. The inspector was very nice and took several pictures of where the floor is pushing up and gapping. Hello, if the product was recalled why am I having to go round and round with this company. We have the rest of the house to do but at this point it seems apparent that Empire will probably not get my return business. Also, I've since called customer service in regards to the inspection and I'm still waiting for a callback. Sincerely, a very frustrated customer.

I had carpet laid upstairs and the stairs. This was done really well, one guy did it. Because of this experience and the $250 discount, I decided to have vinyl installed downstairs. This has been a nightmare. Three different times they did not have enough material. The second time they did half the floor and I had to wait a week for the other half. Today I have discovered that when they nailed the trim, a hole was made in an air conditioning pipe, so I've been without air since they let on Wednesday. The floor is ok now, but I've spent a long time on the phone with customer service, stressed because of three different appointments and not enough material, now a costly problem with my aircon. It has been miserable and totally not worth it. I like the floor, but after all the discounts it was still expensive. I am extremely upset.

I was assured by the salesman that someone would call me the night before or by early the day of installation to make sure the installation could get done before I had to go to work at 4 p.m. I've received numerous calls from Empire, making sure I still want the installation but ZERO information on when they'll be here. Twice I've been told the installer would call at 6:30 a.m., but no call. When I called customer service today, I was told she'd left the installer a voicemail and he'd call me shortly. Two hours later, nothing. Now I'm told I have to call them at 10 a.m.
Meantime, since the installation requires something like four hours, I'm running out of time. And my tenants, who are getting the carpet, have already moved everything to accommodate the installation. Very very poor customer service. Expecting people to sit around for 10 hours, without information, despite having told the salesman that I had to go to work at 4, makes Empire even worse than the cable companies. I had planned to do three more installations with Empire, a second unit in the house and both kitchens; I can guarantee you I will not.
We have read your reviews, and we regret that you installation was not completed as planned. This is not the service we expect for our customers, and we would like to help make things right. We will follow up with you shortly.

I thought the quality was good. I liked the easy installation and financing as well as how it was presented by the salesperson who came into the house. They had wonderful installers as well. My flooring looks good but there's a seam in between the hallway and one of the bedrooms. It's not open but I can see the line there. I don't know if or how it's going to wear, however.

Every time I go in both bathrooms and walk around, I think of the good job Empire Today did because the carpet doesn't move. Plus out in the garage, I have a ramp for wheelchair and I had a piece of carpet out there that was always moving around and I showed it to the guy. I was very disappointed the way the Empire Rep did last week. He came to my house to measure the floor last Wed. He spent 3 hrs in my house to write the quote. The quote was extremely high that I never seen before. After he left my house, I emailed him that I need to delay the project before he could explain to me the quote clearly. There were many hiding costs that I did not know where they came from to get the grant price. He came to my house again to show me the quote (paper). I still did not agree the price from the quote. It was extremely high that I didn't accept this quote. I asked him to switch to other tiles that were reasonable. I put 10% downpayment this time 65 dollars and last time was $385. All of them were withdrawn from my account on 04/28 and on 05/02.
The same day he came to adjusted the quote that I switched to other tiles, he ripped off my carpet (it was on Sat) to prepare installing on Monday. He asked me to remove all stereo stuff on the shelves as well unplugged all tv. I had to spend whole day (Sunday) to unplug and removed everything. I had the phone line and internet set up on basement that I had to unplug per his request.
On Monday, no one showed up, and no call to let us know what happened. My parents had to stay home all day to wait for the crew without going anywhere as they used to go out every morning. I got his email that stated the installing would move to Thursday instead of Monday. At night, I received another email that he was out of work until his father recovered and told me if I had any question, please contact his boss at the number given. I called to reported the problem happened. I kept calling to complain, but no one solved the problem for me.
I got the call from Empire company that the tiles I chose was commercial tiles that were not installed for resident. They sent another Rep came to give me another quote. This Rep gave me exactly the first tiles that I denied because their highly cost. I was tired to call and spent my time to hold the phone every day. My patience was limited that I could not be patient anymore. I decided to give up my floor project with Empire Today. It is my first time to work with "Empire Today" as well my last one to deal with "Empire Today". I had bad experience with it.

Initial sales appointment was fine. When the installers came out, they took 6.5 hours to install one 23 x 19 foot bedroom of carpet. They left a long seam which was understandable and was barely visible. But then they patched a 5 x 8 piece for some reason and left a cross seam that looks horrible. They also left several damaged spots from incorrect cutting to what looks like a burn spot in one of the corners. The point where the carpet meets the tile in the bathroom looks horrible.
I called and they sent out two guys to try and repair but the two guys said they need carpet and the installers left none. The two guys said "Russ" would call me back. NO CALLS. I left a complaint on their website, NO CALLS. I called the company and spoke to a CSR, they said "Russ" would call me back. NO CALLS. I basically threw $1500 out the window on this job. Original Review: May 6, 2016
On April 11, 2016 we employed Empire Today to replace the tile in our kitchen, living room, hallway, hall closet and laundry room. They worked on it for 3 days because they needed additional tile to be ordered. We were assured the furniture they removed would be replaced and floors would be cleaned of glue. They were in such a hurry to leave on the last day I had to remind them to replace the furniture. When I asked them about the glue they told me acetone would take the glue off the floor and they left.
I took inventory of what did not get done. Caulking was not put in the hall closet or laundry room. They put "white" caulking against black baseboards. Caulking was missing around some of the baseboards and uneven on much of the other. Some tiles were not staggard and pattern does not flow well. A tile piece is missing behind the window blind and a piece of the vinyl was torn off another. The rubber stripping did not get replaced in kitchen/hall doorway. They tried to use the old stripping and it is not staying. The edge of the "step down" in the closet, laundry room, and hall bathroom was left unprotected. Floors were not cleaned of glue and looks dirty. Installers broke the console off the washing machine when they moved it.
I called empire to voice my complaints and was told these things would be taken care of. A gentleman (Martin) came and inspected the work and took pictures. He said he would make a report and make sure the pictures were included and that someone would be out to make repairs. We did not hear from Empire for awhile. When they did call to set an appointment and appointment day (Saturday) came no one showed. When I called I was told that they had called earlier that morning and left a message that the tiles had not come on the truck and they had to reschedule. They lied because I was home all day waiting for them and no message was left on the phone.
On the day (Tuesday) of the reschedule they called again and said the tile was not on the truck so we rescheduled again for the Thursday same week. They called earlier that morning and said again the tile was not on the truck. I scheduled for the following Monday giving them the weekend to get the tile on the truck. On the scheduled day 2 men came with a work order to replace the tile and clean the floor. I asked about the rest of the problems and he asked me what they were. I showed him the problems and he tried to fix the rubber stripping with wood molding and I told him that would not work because it was raised higher than the floor and a tripping hazard.
He then talked on the phone with someone and said he would have to come back another time because he did not have the supplies to fix everything. I asked him if he would fix the tiles and clean the floor and he told me "if I can't do all the work, I don't do any. We would have to wait for all the supplies." I really expected a lot more from this company. When I pay for work to be done I expect it to be done, and in a timely manner. It will soon be a month since this all started. How much longer before it's finished? I feel I am getting the runaround.

Three issues with my purchase have left me with a very negative impression of Empire Today: Miscommunication between salesperson and installation team i.e. where the two halves of my manufactured home meet, there needed to be a filler material put in. Salesperson said the install crew would be able to take care of, but there was not mention of that on the order and the install crew knew nothing of it. My carpet install was delayed by 4-5 days due to the miscommunication. I was given $100 off the purchase price in an attempt to appeases me.
The promotions that Empire runs on T.V. leave the consumer with a false impression. I viewed 2 different promotions during the course of my purchase. I was told by the sales rep that they only applied to certain carpets... And of course, mine was not on the list. That is NOT made clear in the T.V. ads. The referral gift card incentive of $350 (to person receiving a referral from another person) turned out to a catch as well. Apparently your purchase price must exceed $3500 in order to qualify. Another disappointment. All in all... not impressed with how Empire Today conducts business and I definitely will not be recommending them to any of the friends/family.

Empire Today has good products and is customer-friendly. They're also cost-effective, and quick at being able to schedule, so I purchased a carpet from them, and had it installed in the bedroom and stairs in a nursery. The installers were efficient and they cleaned up well after themselves. So far, the new flooring has met my expectations. I love the texture and softness of the carpet, although, we would have liked a thicker cushioning like a plusher pad underneath.

My carpet was installed a month ago. The salesman from Empire was nice and I bought carpets for 2 rooms ($1,777). The installer worked hard and after he was done, he helped us put the furniture back. My housekeeper who comes every week to clean showed me a place between the kitchen vinyl and the carpet in the bedroom that was coming up. We thought if that is the way it is, it will continue to get worse and when my warranty runs out, I'll be in trouble. So I called and scheduled last week that someone would be here yesterday but nobody showed nor called. I sat all day and I could have done something else. I got on the phone again this morning and the guy said that he had turned it over to somebody and that's the last thing I've heard, still no action.
I paid what I considered to be a premium price, knowing they'd do a good job and I would never have trouble but I’m having all kinds of trouble already. My housekeeper heard me that I called Empire twice now with no action. She said she was going to get a couple of bedrooms carpeted but if this is what she's looking forward to, she won't be interested in calling now so Empire already lost two rooms of carpet already. Empire did a good job but they won't fix my problem.

I contracted EmpireToday to install hardwood floors in my 430sq ft bedroom and vanity area. They sent one installer who arrived around 10ish and left around 8 pm. He had to move king bed, triple dresser with mirrors attached and two nightstands and an armoire. The floor wasn't leveled before laying the slats. And he shot quarter round nails into the floor to hold down unleveled slats. He didn't have the correct color caulk to seal quarter rounds in vanity area and he didn't have correct color transition pieces. He said he would have to come back in his broken English. He spoke very little English and arrived in an unmarked truck and carried no Empire identification. I expected an Empire Today truck.
Three days later a second group showed up to complete installation of transition pieces and seal quarter rounds in vanity area. Again they were in an unmarked vehicle and no Empire identification. Again, they spoke very little English. They brought new quarter rounds and sealed the transitions only after I insisted they do so. They left a mess outside from cutting quarter rounds.
Three days later, a nail appeared from one of the slats. Rex **, our contact person, was contacted and pictures texted to him. We received no call back. We contacted Rex ** again who told us he would send a crew to replace boards damaged by nails that were not suppose to be in the boards. Two days later, I called Rex ** left a message inquiring about status of repair to the floor. Received a call from a Billy ** inquiring about our "complaint". I said, "I have no complaint, I have an issue with a nail sticking up from the floor!!"
He came out to inspect the floor. He admitted the installer did not level the floor and shot nails into it to keep slats down. Before leaving he scheduled with us a date to remove floor, level it and replace with new slats. Day before installation I called Billy ** to confirm our appointment. He confirmed. Day of installation no one showed up or called. Billy was contacted again and said he would call back. Received no call back. Instead someone came by, no Empire identification, to "inspect" our floor. We were expecting an installation not an inspection! "Gabe" inspected floor, determined it needed to be leveled and replaced. Appointment scheduled for 3 days later.
Gabe arrived 45 minutes late. Floor was removed, leveled and replaced. Quarter rounds weren't sealed nor were transitions because he didn't have the right color caulking! I accepted the color they had on hand just to get them out of my house. Gabe told me he could be with his family if he had not had to repair my floor. It wasn't my fault he had to redo the floor. Their attitude was certainly not that of wanting to make a customer happy, rather, that being inconvenienced.
They left before replacing all of the furniture. However they forgot their fan so they came back for it. I made them put the furniture back. They also left a mess, including a nail and wood fragments, on the driveway. After cleaning up the mess they left on the floor itself, I noticed they left a 1/8" gap between two slats beside the dresser. Also, one slat has been splintered on the edge. Sloppy work! Empire Today uses cheap labor, probably undocumented people, whose work is sloppy and they are uncaring of their finished product. I will never use nor recommend Empire Today to anyone.
Thank you for bringing your concerns with your installation experience to our attention. We understand this could be frustrating and we never want our customers to be disappointed in the work that is done in their homes. Flooring was installed on April 1i, 2016. Everything was going good, until it was time to install the wall base. The Waldos the installers brought was 3 1/4'. I needed 4' wall base for everything to look uniform. The installers at this time assured me that they could order the 4 inch wall base and have it installed the next week. I waited for a week with no response. At this time, I called several times to get this issue resolved. It was then explained to me that the 4 inch wall base is no longer carried by Empire. And my options are to either go with a smaller wall base or buy the larger Albanese and have Empire install it. This situation has been an inconvenience to me. I definitely want the 4 inch wall base and it has taken forever to get in contact with Empire. Unfortunately the best resolution to this situation maybe me being refunded the money associated with the Wall base and having another individual install the required wall base.
Updated on 05/12/2016: When the installers showed up, they did not have the correct size wall base. They told me they would order the correct size (never happened). Upon playing phone tag it was explained to me my options were to pay more money or have my wall base they have in stock installed around my place for no additional money. The wall base Empire now carries looks great! So it was an easy decision, but... after waiting all day on May 11, 2016, day the installers were suppose to show up. I am feeling pretty put out. Upon calling multiple times, after the installers never showed... I have been informed the installation team will show up on April 16, 2016. It is just wall base! Not easy for me to understand why it has taken a month to get this issue resolved?
We understand the inconvenience that this may have caused and regret that you installation was not completed as scheduled. We would like to learn more and will contact you shortly.

It's been a month since I met with the salesman. I have a section of my floor still ripped up, and it's been a NIGHTMARE since the installer first showed up. I've had water damage on my floor, taking up a small 2x2 ft section under my toilet. I determined it's not a plumbing issue. It's actually a leak in the flashing on my roof that has been dripping down through the wall when it rains, just happens to be settling between the tub and toilet. I've resolved this issue since.
I met with the salesman, who was very nice and helpful, on 4/8/2016. He gave it a look, took measurements. He noticed the subfloor was squishy so determined that would need to be replaced in a 2x2 ft. section, but assured me this could be done. Great! Put down $100 deposit, liked the price, signed the papers, ready to go. The install date came, man came out, very nice, but I could barely understand what he was saying. There was an obvious language barrier. English was so accented and broken, he would speak 5 sentences and I might make out a part of one of them. He looked at the floor, and right away, just seemed like there was no way he could work on it. He just kept saying, "Lot of water, lot of water". Yes, the floor was damp, but I'm not the expert, so I don't know what to do.
He cuts a small hole in the vinyl and shows me how the moisture is leaking out, so I ask him, "Cant you just tear this section out and replace?" He just keeps saying, "I don't know", and has this look on his face, like he's really hesitant and scared to work on it. He advised me to make sure I know where the leak is coming from and he'll come back. So the next day I call my sales guy, leave a voicemail because he was out of the country, and explain to him that I just thought this could be done based on how I was sold.
The next day, I get a voicemail back from him, explaining they, he told me there could be extra costs if a bigger section needed to be tore out due to water damage. However, that wasn't the issue. The installer wouldn't even touch the job, and I couldn't understand his full explanation. Within a day or two, I get a call from Empire asking to reschedule the job for the 29th, and have the installer come back to just do the work. I agree, and assume the installer will be there in the morning like last time.
On the 29th, around 10:30 am, I get a call from the installation manager, I believe, not sure, but he tells me something about a van being broken down, and they're a bit behind. He said he's going to have a guy come out and drop off the materials to do the work between 12 pm and 2 pm, and the installer will be out between 3 pm and 5 pm. Didn't realize they started jobs this late, but I'm hoping they'll be out earlier and just get it done. The first window passes and nobody shows up. I call Empire to check and make sure everything is still on schedule. The customer service rep tells me, "Yes, I'm set to have a guy show up between 3 pm-5 pm". She also tells me, "The window of operation for work goes until 6 pm", but I should still expect someone out there by 5 pm.
Finally, a guy comes at about 2:30 pm, drops off the materials, very nice guy. He looks at the floor, and tells me again, they should be able to just rip out the old water damaged area and replace with new baseboard. He tells me the installer is running a bit late so he'll probably be out here around the 4 pm to 5 pm time. I said, "Fine, let's just get this done". He gives me the cell number of the install manager, Robert, and says if I have any other problems, call this number, and he'll make these guys get it done. Then he says, "We don't want to inconvenience you any more than we already have". I wait and wait, 4 pm rolls around then 5 pm, nobody shows, and nobody calls. I remember the customer rep on the phone said they operate until 6 pm, so I waited, and gave them until 6 pm, nobody shows, nobody calls.
I call the number of the install manager that was left for me to make sure these guys, get the job done. I call the number,it beeps, and then says, "This number is not in service". I call Empire again, get a customer service rep, and explain to them what happened. They put me on hold and try to reach the installer by phone and the install manager, but are unable to reach them, so they apologize, put all this info in my file. I call it a day and, go to the park with my son. When I get home, I see I missed a call from the installer at 7:30 pm. Too late for excuses at this point. The next day, Saturday 5/30, I get a call from the installer at 7:30 am asking if he can come out and do the work. I had already made plans with my son later that morning/afternoon, and said it wouldn't work. He agreed to come out the following Monday the 2nd.
I call the sales rep and basically tell him, "I still want my floor done, but at this point, I don't believe I should have to pay the quoted amount". I told him the whole ordeal, and he was very understanding. He said I would need to talk to Robert to discuss any price changes or if I was going forward with the installation. Since the first number I had for Robert didn't work, he said, he'd get me the number he had for Robert. He called me back later that day with the number. I had the heavy supplies in my bathroom all weekend, and I had to move them all myself to another room so my 3-year-old son wouldn't get to them.
Monday morning before the installer came out. I tried calling Robert to discuss, just got a voicemail, but if I heard it correctly, the line was for a Dan, not a Robert. I left a voicemail anyway for this poor Dan, and just gave up. Told myself I'll deal with it after the fact, I just want my floor put in. The installer (same guy) calls me and tells me he'll be there in 30-45 minutes. An HOUR AND A HALF later he finally shows up, and the same issue as before. Just says, "Lot of water, lot of water", that's about all I can understand. What I took away from it is he just needed the subfloor to be completely dry before working on it or removing it.
He pulls some of the old vinyl back to show me, and yes, there is water damage, the old subfloor just sort of crumbles, but I was sold on that they could remove that, and replace. Again, he basically says he can't or doesn't want to work on it. He advises ME, to cut away the old vinyl, wait a couple days AGAIN to see if it dries, and he'll come back. So I'm thinking, "Okay, if I can dry this floor out, he'll come back and install", however now he tells me, he can't just remove the old stuff. He has to take out the entire bathroom floor (even the good subfloor) to fix this. I had two other people previously tell me that only the damaged area could be removed/replaced, but the installer wants to rip out my entire subfloor, even though it's in fine condition. So he leaves again.
This is my 3rd attempt come and gone with not knowing what needs to be done. So I remove the vinyl around the damaged spot like the guy told me to do. The subfloor has since dried out. It's now May 3rd, and I'm thinking it looks good and dry, this guy should be able to replace now BUT I get a call today around 4:30 pm from a Carlos. He tells me he's stopping by to pick up some of the supplies that were dropped off last Friday. He says he'll be here in 15-30 minutes. 45 minutes later he shows up, notice the only person to ever show up on time was the salesman from the beginning.
The two men show up, take the supplies, ask for the paperwork on my job. When I realize they are taking everything, I ask my installer if he was coming back in the couple days like he said because my subfloor was dry now, and he said a bunch of stuff, but all I could make out was, "I don't know, call Empire". Then they were gone, and I'm left with a month wasted, a torn up floor, and Empire still has my $100 deposit. Are they done? Is someone coming back? I have no idea. Customer service was atrocious, and I'm fearful to even go on, but my floor needs replacing as you can see how everything was left in the pictures.

I tried to vacuum it but the footprints won't come up so I'm not satisfied with the rug. I'm disappointed. But I have six girlfriends who came and said nothing's wrong with the rug. It's me because the rugs I have in my house, they're all no footprints.
Empire wanted to exchange it for me though. Jane came up to show up the rugs that Empire has. And I was going to suggest could I get another rug from another company and then bring it up, but then by the time they got to move out all the furniture, it's gonna be costly with the labor again. Empire did try to help me and do everything for me but I said I'll have to live with it. So I'm trying to do my best do that. Maybe if I roll the rug up, the footprints will come up. I was gonna have my stairwells done, but I'm thinking about it. I went shopping at Lowe's but I don't trust them or Home Depot. At least I know I had Empire. Tomorrow, they were to rip up the crap rug they put down in June with a higher grade and I waited all day for them to call me and confirm it, but no one called. I called them and the young gentleman sent the higher ups an email in my words. If my rugs are not put down tomorrow, I'll obtain a lawyer, call every news station to report such abuse to me.
A woman whom I've been in touch with from Empire was to set it up for tomorrow and she has not once again. I want her job too, apparently she does not know what she's doing. We hired Empire to install carpet in September of 2015 and within weeks the seams were unraveling. They sent a specialist out to inspect it in January and then stated they would be replacing the entire carpeting in our home due to the poor job. We agreed to having it done again no matter how much this will inconvenience us again. Well what now matters is this is how it is ending as they backed out of it on the day of installation after rescheduling it twice leaving us in boxes in our home for close t a month with a newborn as well and one recovering from knee surgery. When you read the details below you see why I would never recommend Empire Today for carpeting...
Bill at Empire Today! I want you to know that I did not agree to sign a settlement agreement, nor will I. Also, after reading it, you stated that Empire is at no fault. You clearly stated that after seeing the inspection photos it was a poor installation and your company was going to redo our entire home. And, on more than one occasion you stated that the job was not done well and that you were sending your top installation team to reinstall new carpet. On Tuesday, April 5th, your team arrived and informed us that they would be unable to do the job because of the padding. On Thursday, April 7th, Kendrick in sales visited us again to show us samples and from there we selected the carpet. You placed the order for the carpet chosen and scheduled installation for Thursday, April 14th.
At 11am, Wednesday, April 13, you left me a voice message asking me to return your call and I did. The following day, April 14th, I called at 7:32am, 7:45am, and 9:57am and I finally heard back from you close to 11AM only to inform us that your company would not be installing carpet and they would agree to ripping out what we currently have, and a refund would be issued. (Bill in customer service in Chicago then brought in his legal team to try to settle a refund.)
The endless lack of consideration from the entire Empire team has left us with a very disappointing experience in regards to customer service and quality. The ongoing inconvenience to our lives and our home has put myself and my entire family on edge. The unnecessary expenses incurred due to Empire has left us no choice but to contact a lawyer in which we already have for all of the damages your company has caused. Today was the absolute finishing touch when we received a phone call shortly after you and I got off of the phone stating that the installers were on their way. (Really, this was like salt in a wound) Erin then arrived at our home to greet the installers (that never showed up) and upon arrival, I informed her that you canceled the installation. The lack of communication between your whole entire team is unbelievable.
For the record, you sent the same salesperson out to us to choose the carpet, and if you wanted control of what we chose, then you should have never given us the option of what you are declining to install. Your job as a business is to satisfy your customers in which you have not. As I stated in my review, I am not and will not be going away!
We never want our customers to be disappointed in our services or products and regret the lack of follow up you’ve received. We understand your frustration and will be contacting you shortly to discuss the situation in more detail.
Thank you.

The Empire guy who came to the house was very nice and professional and I liked the way he gave us our options and told us the cost. We went with them and they installed carpeting in four bedrooms and a staircase at our home. The way the carpet was laid - the corners, and the padding under it - was a good, professional job.

Just got off the phone with Empire. I called because a piece of my laminate flooring has shifted and there is a gap in my flooring. I was told that I have to pay $100 for them to come out and fix the flooring. I'm sorry did I pay thousands of dollars for the floors to shift or should I as a customer and Empire know that the floors should be tight enough so they don't move!!! I was told that I am out of warranty and it had to be within a year. Once again, I don't expect for the flooring to move if done correctly. This is not the first time that I have had to call Empire. I have also had to call them back to fix my stairs and laminated to the same area I was calling about more than once.
I will be calling BBB. But would warn anyone against using Empire for their laminate needs. I can not believe that this could not be fixed by Empire even if the warranty had expired because this is certainly a bad job on the part of Empire. NEVER USE THEM. They had the nerve to ask if I want them to come out and fix it, UMMM, so you can do another bad job and I have to call you back again? No thanks.
Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. We are saddened to hear that you are not happy with your product installation. We assure you that we take your concerns very seriously and value your years of loyalty to us. We want to help and make this better for you, and will follow up with you shortly to start working towards a resolution.
Thank you for your patience.

Sales agent Nicole that came to our home was very pleasant and easy to work with. My husband and I decided to have Empire install Tile. My husband takes off work for the installation to take place. NO ONE shows up, we received an email stating the installation was to take place 5/3/16 not 5/2/16 per my contact. When calling Empire's Customer service Dept. I spoke to the rudest, unhappiest employee by the name (Omar from West Texas). He talked over me the entire conversation. I asked for a corp address he couldn't give it to me. Then I asked for a phone number to make a complaint about my service he denied that as well. My last request was for a manager, Omar then places me on hold for the manager Maria for 5 minutes and never returned to the line. This was by far the worst customer service I have ever received. I called the sales agent Nicole to cancel my order.
We are disappointed to hear that your experience with us did not end as well as it started. The level of service that you were given is not acceptable and we will contact you soon to learn more.
Thank you.

Empire Today put in our carpet 12 years ago and recently I hired them again to install carpet in my office. It was excellent and they're professional. I also like the price and quality.

I shopped around a little bit and decided to go with Empire Today. I had a carpet installed in my home's hallway, stairs, and living room. The salesman I dealt with, a repeat time, came to my residence. In the midst of my purchase, he wasn’t trying to push anything more on me. I felt that I was getting the best deal for the quality and the money. The installers did a phenomenal job too. They were clean and professional. They really took the time to answer my questions. The comfortability of the carpet and its quality were real nice. I like the stain resistance as well. Overall it was a good experience, right from the salesman to the installers. It was fantastic.

I needed the carpet so badly, so I had the carpeting installed by Empire Today in our dinette-living room hallway, and it's a great carpet. It's a lot different from what I had before.

I got Empire to install carpet to three bedrooms. I considered other brands also but their price was higher than Empire's and the quality wasn't as good. Empire has better cost and quality. I was happy with everything - design, style, durability and comfort level. The new flooring has met my expectations. Everything was great!

Empire had a lovely young saleswoman and so I decided to choose a product sold by them. I got a carpet installed in my basement. I like its design, style, durability and comfort level. To this point, my expectations has been met except that some people told me that, on the cement, I should be using steel edging which Empire insisted that I do not need. But everyone else told me that I do. I'm hoping I won't have a problem. Nevertheless, the service people were professional and it was a simply beautiful experience.

We had a good experience with Empire Today. I had carpeting installed at home in the lower level and on the steps. I like their color and it looks nice. What's also good about Empire is that they can have somebody out and install their product right away. And we’re very happy with it. Their workers were very polite and helpful. It was a very pleasant experience all the way around.

We've always used Empire. I bought thick carpet and flooring from them and had these installed over a month ago. Everything is fantastic. We've used Empire before to put brand-new flooring in the kitchen for our apartments in Alameda. We also had them put carpets in my mother's home.

My wife and I are really happy with Empire. We had a piece of our floor replaced and we didn't consider other brands because Empire installed the floor two years ago and did a really good job. The gentleman who did the floor was really fast.

Empire Today was great. They came out to the house and their prices were good. They installed basement carpet in my home and I'm very pleased with it. They were also very professional. The salesgirl was very helpful, educated, knew what to show me and helped me pick out the carpet. Then the guys came in, did their job, and cleaned up.

We looked online for various options and Empire’s name stands out, and we figured we’d go with the best. Empire was great from the moment that we engaged with them on the phone all the way to the people that came in to do the work. So we got a great starting point. The sales representative was absolutely wonderful. He went above and beyond to cater to our needs and worked with our schedule. I like the quality of the wood floor we had installed in the living room and dining area. It was all so amazing so I gave them the best rating I could. I would definitely recommend them.

Really unhappy with what occurred. An hour and half after my estimated time, Empire Today couldn't even reach the local vendor nor locate the installer. I live an hour away from the place the work was scheduled for and at 4:30pm on a Friday all they could say was that they will keep calling. I was left to stand outside an empty apartment for hours before I said that I have to reschedule because I needed to drive an hour home. And they still didn't even know where the guy was. Personally I think I should be discounted for the wasted time and gas.
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention and regret that you were inconvenienced by a delayed installation. We want to discuss this issue further and will be contacting you shortly.

I had carpets installed by Empire in the living room and bedroom. This is a rental property, so we're out-of-state and couldn't afford to stay for two weeks waiting for the carpet to be installed. I compared other brands with similar carpet quality, and chose Empire since the guy came out the night before and the next day they installed it. The carpet is fine and has met my expectations.

Empire Today was super. I considered other brands but they couldn't beat Empire's price and quality. Their sales gal's attitude made a huge difference and I liked how she handled everything. The guys who installed the carpet upstairs and downstairs in my home were wonderful. They had a good sense of humor and if I asked them to do something extra, they didn't squabble about it. It was a great experience. I've had other people have Empire and they were happy, too. So, I would highly recommend the company to anybody.
