We have purchased from Empire before so I had them install laminate wood in our two bedrooms recently. The installers were nice and they kept us informed the entire time. They called us the moment they were on their way and when they were running late since they got a bit lost. We tried to feed them but they wouldn't let us. They were professional and I appreciate their work ethic. The floor has good colors and I love it.

I went with somebody I was familiar with and recently got a rug from Empire Today. I've dealt with them before. I like the color I picked. It wasn't my standard color but I got a dark burgundy and I thought I picked the most expensive one for my budget. I wasn't satisfied with the quality of the carpet I had before because it was already at my apartment when I got here. But I'm quite satisfied with this new one. It looks luxurious and it's so wonderful. Unfortunately, I have to wait until I've paid my bills out before I get some more for the four other rooms that I have. Also, the lady representative that sold me the carpet was quite nice. She told me how to get it cleaned but I haven't had it cleaned yet.

Empire Today did great. They installed my laminate flooring for a stair bedroom and a kid's bedroom. They were less expensive and have the zero percent financing for 12 months. The laminate flooring has met my expectations. My favorite features of it are the durability and the cleanup. Empire Today is efficient and they did what they said they would. Both of the rooms were done in one afternoon.

I like the color of the carpet, the way it looks, and the price. Empire also has the fastest installation. I like the installers that came in but I didn't like the salesperson at all. It was a little headache with him because he measured wrong. He gave me the wrong estimate and then they wouldn't give me the carpet. Then some lady had to call. The salesperson gave the office feedback about the customer, and he said I couldn't afford the carpet or was looking for a cheaper price. But how did he know that when we never really discussed it. But overall, I was satisfied with Empire.

I got carpet and laminate from Empire Today and it was installed in the whole house except for the bathtub. The cost and quality of the product have been pretty good so far. The flooring is pet-friendly and they also have warranties so Empire more or less backs up their product on what they say it is. My favorite feature is the durability and it's supposed to be scratch-resistant and doesn't sink in. It's also very easy to clean. It's been a really good experience with Empire and they're very nice.

We had Empire install hardwood in our bedroom and hallway. They have better cost and quality, and we like the color of the floor. I was willing to buy another box because I wanted to do a hot bath that we had. We’re doing a new construction, so I called Empire up and said if I can just buy a box and I'll install it myself. And they said somebody will reach me in 48 hours. I waited about noon the next day and nobody called. So I called them, “Oh, somebody’s calling you this evening. Don’t worry about it. That 24 hours is 24 business hours.” I replied, “So you mean, you all are not calling me back for 3 days?” The rep said that somebody will call me this evening before 5 o’clock. Well, I called them back about 4 o’clock and said, “You all are not calling me back.” She said, “Well, I’m sorry, let me see what I can do.”

So she got back on the phone and then I told her what has happened and next thing I know, the phone hung up. I was getting upset but I let it go. I went through the next day and called them back. They told me, “Oh, we can help you out. It ain’t a problem.” Then I found out that they don’t sell just the boxes. I asked them why and the rep said, “We just don’t sell boxes. We have to come out and install them, and all.” I said that’s not true because when a salesman’s out here for my floor, he told me, "Do you want us to install it or do you want to install it?” And the rep on the phone said, “No, if you install it yourself, it voids the warranty.” So of course, I just had them install it.

It didn’t make no sense. Here I am, a satisfied customer, happy with everything, and you’re all going to ruin everything over one box of floor. Now I will have people come in to my house looking at this floor and they’d go just like, "Ah, where did you get this?” And I’m going to say, “Empire Today but don’t ever use them because they got bad customer service.” The sales rep and installer were just as nice as they could be but there was nothing they could do. They just blew my sale through a box of flooring.

The most frustrating thing was the run around. If there’s a rule, they need to tell somebody instead of leading them on for a week. Surely, everybody knows the rules or the procedures. Why didn’t somebody tell me that? I would recommend the salesman and the installers every day. The salesman knows the product and he goes through it and takes time with it. The installers did a professional job and didn’t leave any mess. Everything was topnotch until I had to deal with customer service.

It took the installers from Empire Today a few days to get the carpet installed in a bedroom at home and we liked how quick they did it. But whoever had rolled the carpet for the installers had mislabeled it. The installers had to double check because they thought that they didn't have enough carpet to cover the room. They had to unroll the whole roll in my driveway to ensure that it was labeled properly, but they still got it installed the same day that they planned on. The carpet that we got is stain resistant, has the padding underneath which makes it comfortable, and also has a warranty on it. The quality has been great so far.

Empire installed flooring in November 2016. Sales person stated I was getting 50% off total cost of the new floor. Installers were prompt and kept their appointment and did a good job with the installation. However, the quality of the flooring is not at all what I had selected nor expected. It not only looks like an inferior product but appears more like vinyl linoleum than wooden flooring as requested. This was selected to match the beautiful wooden steps on my stairway. This is not the case.

I called the local manager and to this day, now February 2017 and 3 months later, have not received even a phone call from him. I challenged the payment through American Express, and a female service representative called, not to listen to my concerns, but to tell me that there was no recourse, no adjustment, absolutely nothing that would be done by Empire. I could not recommend Empire Today for flooring needs. There is a reason they demand payment up front.

Empire put carpet into my home and after 3 months is was matting and showing wear. I live alone, remove my shoes at the door and am easy on things. I called to complain and was told I needed to professionally have the carpet cleaned before anything would be done!! Why would I clean NEW carpet?? They did set up an appt for someone to come out to look at it and they sent the carpet installers that had nothing to do with the poor quality of carpet that was sold to me, however, they took pictures of the worn areas to bring back to Empire and I never heard anything after that.

We had laminate flooring installed September 8 at the cost of 6359.86. At first it looked nice but we went away for a few days the end of September and came home to a 4 to 5 foot section of our kitchen floor lifted and bowed. About 2 to 3 inches off the floor. I called since the salesman said it was a lifetime warranty. They sent someone in a van from NY (we live in PA and not near the NY border). A female sat in the van while he came in to inspect. He looked at it and was arguing it was water that did this. Mind you I had not even mopped it yet. Only used a swiffer dry mop and we have no small children spilling things. Our home is a ranch over a heated garage. He then wanted to inspect down in the garage for leaking pipes which he did not find!

More time went by and then Empire called saying they were sending out another inspector. This one did not work for the company so was neutral. He examined and wrote a recommendations for repairs. Couldn't tell us what was wrong but agreed it WAS NOT water that caused the damage. I since have had 2 contractors come and explain that the flooring was installed too tight and with the temperature changes it could not expand so it lifted. They also said if it weren't for the furniture throughout the other rooms keeping it down they most likely will do the same. They also said we were charged way too much money for what we got.

Empire called to set up a date to repair the flooring. They called in October or beginning of November. The first date they could fix it was January 30th!!! Gee when they were taking our money they got here the next day. Anyway they called the morning of the 30th saying they would be here in an hour or two. The contractor called and said he would be here around 1130. I took the day off of work so I would be home. Then around 1130 the contractor called and said he couldn't make it and we need to reschedule!! I called and told them we want our money back, we are very dissatisfied and we will have someone that knows what they are doing replace it. Still waiting for a response. All of our friends and family saw the flooring at our Christmas open house. Not good advertising for you Empire.

These are the problems leading up to today. On October 5, 2016 wood laminate flooring installed throughout 3 bedrooms, living room, dining room and hallway. We were told it was going to be a 2-day job and yet this installer, Miguel was in such a rush, he completed the job in one day. No one from Empire ever told us they were going to be using an electric saw to cut the wood laminates and borders in my home. When the crew arrived and told this to my husband, he asked if they were going to cover the furniture because of the dust the sawing was going to cause. The head crew member, Miguel, assured my husband everything would be covered. However, that was not the case. I had dust all throughout my house. It was disgusting.

Then on top of that when they were done it was late and the lighting was not good in my home. Miguel asked us to check out the work and let him know if anything was wrong. We asked him to walk with us but he refused. Well it turned out sections of the wood laminate were defective and some of the borders around the house were poorly cut and installed. I contacted Empire and eventually, they came to fix the problems. However, we continue to have the same problems with the saddles and there are parts of the floor that have gaps. In addition, you can now see other defects on the flooring such as lifting, cracking, etc.

We have been in constant touch with Empire Today and they have provided nothing but horrible customer service and overcharged us for material we had to pay for ourselves. There have been several occasions where we stayed home waiting for them and no one showed up. They do not stand by their guarantee of their flooring and all I want is for them to have someone competent come to our home to take care of our problems once and for all. I am totally frustrated at this point and so I thought post my complaint on this website in hopes of a resolution.

We had very expensive Empire Today linoleum installed in my kitchen and dining room. I wouldn't advise anybody to take it because of the price. It was $2,800 for two rooms. We bit the bullet for two or three years to pay for it. Even the guy from Empire said that carpeting is so reasonable now that it's cheaper than what it costs for that linoleum in that one room. But it is a great floor and probably worth the price. It might be 20 or 30 years old and then if we replaced it three or four times, it would make up the difference between $2,800. Other than that, everything is perfect. It looks like real wood and the workmanship is excellent. Their people are very polite and kind. Everybody likes everything about our flooring.

He was very professional, seemed to have a lot of knowledge about their business, explained everything, answered all my questions, and reassured me that everything was going to be fine. The workers were even better. Empire should consider keeping them or giving them a raise or some more jobs because the two workers were very good and did an excellent job. The quality of the product or the material itself was a little less and a little bit cheaper than that of other products I've encountered. But the work power, knowledge, and service were far and beyond. Our new flooring has met our expectations 100%, and our experience was great overall.

"We strive for Perfect-10 performance and your complete satisfaction". Although my sister and mother have had good luck with Empire Today, I did not have the same experience. I knew I might be in trouble, when Empire started throwing around, $100-$200 additional discount offers. Conveniently, I never got see a break down, so really it felt like flimflam. Initially I scheduled an appt with a sales rep who gave me three choices. After talking with the rep, I told him that I needed a day to think about my options. The next day I received a phone call from a customer service rep named Eric, he asked why I didn't go with Empire, and that he could "rerun the numbers" and cut my cost in half. He then scheduled a new sales rep appointment, and the same guy came out. Supposedly all of this was documented in Empire had all of this documented, but the sales rep (same guy as first time) came out, and was totally unaware of the rep's discussion with me.

He then made the excuse that the rep probably chose a cheaper material, and told me he couldn't really do anything. Okay, well I was already getting a pretty decent deal, but I decided I'd only do one room instead of three. I wanted to see if I could trust Empire at all. Well when the installation date came, I had two men come who really weren't all that professional in manner. Granted they installed the carpet well, but it felt like I had to guide them through the process. I had to ask them to show me the material, and when I'd ask them questions I would initially get a sarcastic or joke answer before getting the real answer. They left my door open unnecessarily resulting in my house getting cold (currently 48F). While they cleaned up the area, they still left a bit of a mess that I will have to pick up.

They asked me how much I paid for the installation (Why?). One of the guys took a dump in my bathroom, and didn't even have the courtesy to turn on the fan, stinking up my house. Going forward I will not use Empire today because overall I feel like they are unprofessional and do not care. The perfect 10 performance is just lip service.

My husband has had some confidence in Empire so we got them to install the carpet in the hallway. I was able to select the brand that I wanted and I selected Glamour and I liked that. It's soft and it walks very nicely. So next time, when we want the rest of the house carpeted, we'll refer to Empire.

One star is too many in my opinion at this point. We had the upgraded padding installed under the new carpet in our home. After less than a year it sounds like you are walking on newspapers. We called Empire and they sent someone out to inspect and he said it was bad. Keep in mind we had to give them a 90.00 check for this. The "expert" stated that corporate would be calling to come and replace it and our money would be refunded. The check was immediately cashed by Empire. It is now 6 weeks later and we still have no answers and we are being told another "expert" must come out to look at the carpet but only after we pay to have the carpet professionally cleaned. Keep in mind this carpet is not dirty.

They have been completely lacking in communication and completely unreasonable. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told no. I was promised a call back the very next day numerous times and have received nothing. So not only is their product inferior, their customer service is unacceptable as well. My wife is in real estate and is making sure to share her experiences at every conference she attends. BEWARE!

After we purchased the flooring, nothing that was agreed was done when we were assured it would be. The sales rep would not reply to calls or texts and she stressed I had three days to cancel the contract, but neglected to tell me that that was only if we had special orders, i.e. windows treatments or blinds. They did not come when they agreed, I took a day off from work to be there, my stepson is deaf and is very uncomfortable around people he doesn't know. I could not be there to check the installation although I had made arrangements to be there on the day I was told the installation would occur.

There apparently is no concern for the consumer once the purchase is made. The work is contracted out I would guess to the cheapest quote. Not at anytime did I speak to the same person although I had called at least six times. You will not be given a number to call the installer. Empire Carpet is listed in Illinois but doesn't have officers listed with the Secretary of State that I could find. If you wanted to speak to someone other than the customer service center I could find no way to contact them. All in all, there is no way I would recommend this company to anyone. EVER.

This is the 2nd time I used Empire for both carpet and tile. I was very pleased with the previous installations. This time, it was the worst experience. The ceramic tile was to be installed in the Jack and Jill bath. Then, carpet was to be stalled in the bedroom. The installers got to my home at 11:49 am and claimed they needed to leave. They came back around 1:30 pm. They did not leave my house until 11:45 pm. Then, the area around one vanity was not completed. I told the installers that my work was not complete. They claimed they would be back the next day.

I was to have the carpet installed the next day. I called Empire and everyone feigned the inability to completely grasp this situation. I want to be compensated for my time, incompetence and mistrust of this company. I requested that the same installers not come back to complete the job. They sent the same 2 installers. The tiles are shotty and do not line up. I told them to fix them and they left my home.

Empire Today installed laminate flooring on the main level of my town home. After installation, we noticed that the kitchen was significantly lower than the dinning room which caused our table to sit at a noticeable slope. 8 months later, we had our fridge repaired which resulted in a leak and caused damage to the floor. I contacted Empire to come out and give me an estimate on a repair of the damaged boards. I also asked for them to look at the level issue.

An installer came out and insisted that it was level until I showed him with a level that it was not in fact level. I then spoke with the service manager whom quoted me $800. When I told her the issue with the level was not our fault she changed the quote to $758. Several weeks later, the installer came out to replace the boards and level the floor. The installer installed boards that were the same color but a different finish. The boards that were replaced were noticeably duller than the ones initially installed. I contacted the service manager twice before hearing back.

When I spoke with the service manager I asked that the boards be replaced with the correct ones or a refund be issued. The manager told me they don't always have the same boards so they usually don't match. The manager then stated she would not issue a refund because they did the work and were repairing something that was my fault was damaged in the first place. When discussing my concern with her response she asked that I send her some pictures of the boards so she could show the installers and ask if they saw an issue. I did email her the pictures. However, based on her response I'm not expecting much. This company has the worst customer service and is by far the shadiest company I've ever dealt with. Don't waste your money.

I had outdoor carpeting done on my four porches through Empire Today. I was looking at that other brand that was always put on porches. I got it two times before. The first time was very good and lasted a long time. The second time was so thin and weak until it didn't last no time. So, that's why this time I went with this particular brand I got from Empire. The color is a little light and I know that's bad for a porch but the fabric felt good and have some thickness to it and it seem like it was long lasting quality. It's also stain resistant plus it's easy to clean.

The new flooring met my expectations highly. I called them because a couple of spots came unglued and they finally came out and glued them back down. But one of the spots they glued down the same day popped back out. I never did call them back. It just looks like that now. I just see it, I was finally getting around to it. But it really won't stick well in the winter time if I do it so I would just wait until spring.

Now, I am very careful with who I apply with for credit because I have been on a steady upswing credit-wise in repairing my damaged credit, so I am on top of the soft hit hard hit, how many points etc. I took 20 min debating this back and forth. I asked the sales rep what type of hit and what point-wise. He had no clue. (Mind you I wanted to pay cash in a few weeks from now) so the salesman found something on his tablet which stated that the financing would only be a soft pull and not affect point-wise, as well as my report would not even state what hit it was. So in this case, I said ok as long as there is no hard hit...

I was of course declined and my credit alarm went off. It not only hit my credit report. It hit it for 22 points!!! At that. Wry second it dropped like a rocket down 22 points. My stomach just sunk... and I am very upset! I had to work to get it were it was! I really think if you’re going to have sale reps that represent this company, they need to know the answers to all the questions I did my due diligence with. I am extremely bothered by this. You need to have an extra training for just this. That is so very wrong and at the most should have been a 1 point hit! We decided to install hardwood and have hardwood through the entire first level. We wanted the floors to match. I did all the research and reached to different companies for pricing, time of installation and the product. Home Advisor matched us with Empire Today and this was our last vendor to be considered.

When the Sales Rep came through the door, he was nice and engaging. He brought several very small samples, however we were concerned that the wood was not matching. The Sales Man assured us that we will have a perfect match once the floors are installed. He assured us that the Empire today has the best reputation and stands behind its service and product. Unfortunately for us, we decided to go with the Empire today; it was not even about the price, but the confidence of the Sales Person, his, what we thought professional opinion and nice personality, that SOLD us.

To make a long story short, the floors did not match in color or finish. I did not sign on the certificate of satisfaction and filed a claim. It has been over a month now. It has been a nightmare experience. Trying to resolve this, like pulling teeth out. We have invested money, time and emotions into this expensive project. We wanted to add value to our home. Now we have hardwood floors that do not match, we are paying monthly payments for a wrong product installed and dealing with numerous managers on how to resolve this problem.

The Sales Rep refused to speak to us from day one, telling us that it is the Customer Service Issue. It has been ongoing problem... for weeks. We finally had an appointment set up for reselect and, not to be surprised, the Sales Person did not show up! I can't tell you how disappointed we are with this company. I would NEVER recommend the Empire Today or The Home Advisor to anyone. We are stressed out and emotionally drained.

Empire Today was to install flooring in my kitchen and bathroom on Wednesday, January 11th, 2017. I was told that I would receive a call that morning giving me a window of the time the installers were to arrive. Also, I had financed this project with their credit company. The morning of installation I received an automated call stating that they could not give me a time that the installers would be arriving at my home. I immediately called Empire Today's Customer Service to notify them that I would need a call before they were on their way so I could leave work and be there to let them in.

The CS agent contacted the installer while I was on hold. They told me that they were to arrive at my home within the hour. I still requested a phone call when they were on their way just to be sure. I was able to leave work soon after so I headed over to my home. 3 hours late the installers showed up, unannounced. Luckily I was home. Then they proceeded to tell me that I owed them money or they would not work on the install.

I was forced to call CS again to have them verify my financing. 15 minutes later this was all worked out. I made sure they had my number to call me when they were close to finishing so I could come back. They had propped open my screen door and front door and were bringing in the sub flooring and the laminate as I left. About 4 hours later I received a phone call telling me that they were about 15 minutes away from being done. So I headed back home.

When I arrived I noticed that my screen door and front door were still propped open, even though it was 20-something degrees out and hailing. And that my heat had been turned up from 65 degrees to 70 degrees and was still trying to get to the 70 mark, currently at 68 degrees. I don't know why they thought it was okay to touch my thermostat.

As I walked around the kitchen to inspect I noticed a few things. First, my brand new, never been used fridge now had a dent in the front door and a huge gouge all along the side of fridge, very visible. I did not buy this item as "scratch and dent" but it sure looks like I did. Second, my freshly painted kitchen was completely ruined. I still have the tape on the walls along the base board, because I just finished having that painted 2 days before this installation. Every single wall in the kitchen now has to be repainted. I purposely had that done before I had the flooring put in so it wouldn't get on my new floors. None of this should have happened in there. They only had to move the fridge around to do their work. There is not a stove in this room yet.

Then I headed to the bathroom where they were just putting the toilet back into place. No visible damage up there, even though it's a much smaller room. My only concern was that they opened up my shower doors. Again, not sure why that was done. As I stood in the living room they took all of their equipment outside while I spoke with one of the men. I was asking him about how the scratches, gouges and dents happened. He didn't seem concerned at all by these things. The other went outside and didn't come back in. I added the damages that I saw to the work order that I signed and he left.

As I walked around looking at all the garbage that was left laying around my house (including their water bottles, food wrapper, napkins, wrapping, pieces of the borders, tons of dust) I noticed that my toilet was running. Then flushing. Then running. Then flushing. Then running. So I called CS about this problem. It took them 15 to decide to call the installers back to fix this problem.

The installers pulled up and went to the bathroom. They were in there a few minutes. One of them told me that it's not their fault and blamed the toilet. Even though it was working perfectly before they disconnected and reconnected it. He went outside. Another one of the guys walked out the front door. Then the third installer walked outside too. All 3 were on their cell phones. The one I had been talking with before told me that they were leaving. He was speaking to me through screen door. I asked if they fixed it. He said they shut off the water and were going to get a part to fix it. Then they all left.

So I waited, and waited and waited. Finally I called CS to ask them what was going on. I was told that the installers don't know how to fix it so they were not coming back. And was given nothing else. I told them that this needed to be taken care of immediately. I don't understand why they thought it was okay to leave me without a working toilet. They said they would have to figure out how to fix this problem and would call me back. I was supposed to have carpeting installed the next day but I told them to put that on hold until this was all worked out.

I did not hear back from them that night. The next morning I received an automated call telling me that my carpet installers would be at my home sometime that day, again not giving me any idea when they would come at all. Even though I had cancelled this. So I called CS again. Firstly, to cancel my install again and secondly, to find out the status of my request to fix all the damage done to my home.

They cancelled my install again. Then the agent told me that she would update my request to "urgent" in their system. A few minutes later I received a call from the carpet installer asking what day I was going to get this installed. Not sure why that even happened, since I specifically said I wasn't even sure that carpet install was going to happen after all the damage caused by the flooring.

I received a phone call hours later asking me to send in pictures of the damage in an email. Still no update on when I was going to have a working toilet in my home again. I sent in a ton of pictures of the fridge and paint damage as well as the garbage left behind. All were blocked by their company email server. I emailed him a separate time, without pictures, letting him know this. I heard nothing more that day, Thursday, January 12th, 2017.

Friday, January 13th, 2017, I received a call back from Empire. They want to send someone out to "have a look" at my toilet on January 18th, a full week after breaking my toilet. Not fix it, just to look and see if they are responsible for the damage done. I'm not sure why they think it's okay to leave me without a working toilet for even that night, let alone a week.

I told them it needs to be sooner. I'm not sure why this is so hard to take care of, there's tons of plumbers around who can make house calls. I told him no, that's unacceptable to leave me without a working toilet for a week. The next thing I heard was that my contact would be out of the office for the next 3 days. The workmanship on the trim is also terrible. The corners aren't joined together, it's cut short in a few places and not joined to the wall in another area.

    Original Review: Jan. 16, 2017

3 years ago Empire installed engineered hardwoods in our dining room and office. Did a great job and loved it so much that we called them again to replace our breakfast room, kitchen, foyer, stairs and 2nd floor landing with the same flooring that we previously used. Unfortunately, the salesman said that the floor is no longer available. He said that he had something similar and we wouldn't even notice the difference. We specifically told him we would like it glued instead of floating. The salesman said that it couldn't be done. He also said that the new product was superior to the old stuff (except it can't be glued). We spent over $10k for the floor to be installed.

Fast forward 3 weeks. My wife has been nagging Empire because of nicks everywhere. The same guys that installed the floor just left my house for the "service" call. He said that we should have had the floor glued. It wouldn't move if it was glued and the corners wouldn't be rubbing against each other which is causing the nicks.

I have contacted Empire about all this and have yet to hear back. I would have paid extra to have the floors glued instead of floating. The floors don't feel the same underfoot. The older glued ones feel solid. The new flooring feels like cheap laminate when walking on them. I would love for Empire to do the right thing and make these floors right. I want to make this perfectly clear... The installers did a great job and did exactly what they were supposed to do. My issue is with the sales process and the customer service that we have had thus far. We are contemplating going through the Better Business Bureau and if nothing comes of that, looking at legal actions.

We planned to have Empire Today tile our bathroom. The rep who came out and showed us the tiles was lovely. We picked out the tile and people came as expected. However when they showed up, they discovered in the bathroom that the sink and vanity had to be removed because the tile went all the way underneath. As a result, they didn't feel comfortable moving it because it had a granite countertop. At that point, the work stopped and we had to go about trying to find someone to move the vanity before Empire could come back and finish the job. We had a highly difficult time in doing so. Nobody wanted to deal with the countertop. I called in a contractor, but we still haven't gotten it removed. Empire also installed a little bit of carpet for us, but that was a different crew. They came in early the same day, did the installation, and were lovely as well.

I was anxious to get a quote from Empire. After doing quite a bit of research, I was under the impression that I would be very happy with their customer service. I could not have been more wrong. My appt was set for 8-10 in the am. After waiting till 10:30 and still no rep or phone call to explain the delay, I decided to give them a phone call. After giving my name to the client service rep, I was placed on hold and told that I did not have an appt scheduled for this particular day. I told the rep that I was looking at my two confirmation emails and asked if she wanted my customer account ID number. I was told no, and placed back on hold. When she returned I was informed that actually my appt was scheduled for 3-6 in the evening. I again said that I was looking at my confirmation email and asked if she wanted my ID number. Third time I am placed on hold and then told that actually I had canceled my appt and rescheduled for the following day.

This time I just gave her my ID number and she told that she would call the Sales Rep. After being placed on hold again, she told me that actually my Sales Rep had been stuck on icy roads and would be at my house in about 20 mins. I was startled by her response, as there were no icy roads around. At 10:40 the Rep showed up, with little explanation of his tardiness other than to say that he was held up at another job. Story was a bit different from the lady whom I had spoken with on the phone.

After going around my home and looking at both the carpet and flooring I wanted replaced, he spent a large portion of the appt criticizing what I currently have for flooring in my home. I was repeatedly told what poor quality I had, and what a terrible job had been done in laying the flooring. As I had picked out and purchased the flooring I had, and a friend of mine had laid it...I did not find his remarks necessary.

Obviously I wanted my entire home redone, that is why I had called you out. I did not find his remarks in slamming what I currently have a necessary sales pitch, it seemed in poor taste to me. Needless to say, by the time he had given me the estimate, I had already decided that if this was the type of customer service Empire gives, I was not interested in having them work in my home. I was extremely disappointed and have already looked elsewhere for my flooring needs.

When we had the house built we had white carpet put in, and I was forever washing traffic areas and I got tired of that. Our new carpet from Empire Today is really pretty and I like it. It's a cross between brown and cream, and the threads are twisted with the different colors. It's supposed to not soak in any liquid, so all I have to do is gently wipe it up and it's fixed. However, trying to get a hold of our salesperson was a challenge which we never completed. The guy was very good in his sales, but when I tried to call him three times after that, they never called me back. But the two guys that came out to install were very informative. We had questions and we had the installation scheduled so we asked the questions when they got here. They helped move the furniture that we couldn't move and it was all great after that.

We've had Home Depot put in carpeting for us before and it only lasted a year. This time we got Empire Today to put the carpeting throughout the apartment we have in Philadelphia, except for the bathroom. It's an apartment we sold so we wanted to put the best foot forward there a little bit hence we've put in the new carpeting, kitchen, and everything. We went with Empire because of the price and the fact that they take everything away. The salesman was very knowledgeable and he helped us quite a bit on the texture and carpeting. We let him decide on the color for us, which came out well, and we liked the color and pattern. During installation, they played some loud music and that didn't go over too good with some of the other people since it was a condo with a lot of other condos. We told them about it and they turned it down. It was a good experience, nonetheless.

I had used Empire Today 3 times before and was very satisfied. BUT this time I kept telling the installers get rid of these "bubbles". Also, the installers left spots that had a 2" gap of NO PADDING in 3 different spots, and one wall had no tack strip down and was just laying on the floor. Along a short wall the carpet wasn't long enough and you could see the nylon weaving with no carpet. They also demolished, cracked my baseboards beyond repair. They came back and corrected the problem with the padding and nylon weaving showing and no tack strip. Only to discover a staple which looks awful. And one spot the carpet and padding dips about 1" BELOW my baseboard!

I asked the installer when are they going to fix the CRACKED custom baseboard. He told me to "just go to Home Depot and get a piece and replace it". I told him that would require about 5 hours of my time getting it, cutting it and painting then installing. He took a picture and promised he would address it with his "manager". After 2 weeks had gone by I called customer service. The installer didn't say a word about it! The customer representative was very RUDE and wanted me to let it go, but ended up giving me $100 compensation for the cracked baseboard probably just to make me go away! I called and called and got no response before speaking with her. I spent good hard earned money and a very expensive nice carpet looks like CRAP because of the installation was done haphazardly and recklessly! Never Again will I even consider going through Empire again!

When I got my carpet not even a year ago yet. I was wanting carpet that would withstand two dogs and a toddler. I was told the kind of carpet we have would not be flattened as long as I vacuumed 3 to 4 times a week. I vacuum every single morning and also regularly carpet shampoo my floor. My carpet is so flattened completely down in some spots you can't feel any padding underneath. I knew that it would happen in high traffic areas but it just seems like all over the carpet is the flattening and looks dingy and old. If I would've gotten the correct information about the kind of carpet we wanted from the salesman, I would have chose something completely different than this kind.

I called Empire today and explained how my carpet looks and all they had to say was "get your carpet steam cleaned". I've done that and it made no difference. After not even a year my carpet shouldn't look like it's carpet that I have had for 10 years. I take very good care of my carpet, so to have it look like it does makes me believe their carpet is not good quality.

He does the laminate work and we told him we were going to go with carpet in the living room. He said, "You want to go with Empire. They'll do the best job. You'll get the best value." So we were already thinking about Empire then we got that endorsement, so we did it.

We had carpet installed in the living room, in our stairway and in our landing upstairs. It was a great experience from the time the sales guy came out until the work was done. The flooring looks good and it's working just fine for us. I like the color of it and the way it goes with the rest of the room. The gentleman that sold it to us told us about the feature that guards against pet urine being a problem going into the pad. We got that feature so that if there's anything spilled or any liquid goes on the carpet, we can clean it up with soap and water and it doesn't go into the pad. That's not a general problem for us but we really like that feature.

First time customer and our experience with Empire Today has been a nightmare and very disappointing. We had a salesman who showed up on time with a nice selection of hardwood floor options, we selected one and agreed to a price and a contract was signed with our initial deposit accepted. Install date set and installers showed up with all hardwood material we had selected and per the contract we had to pay the full amount before installation could start, so we provided a check for the full amount.

At that point is when our problems started. The installer was not a professional as he started on our stairs and actually installed two different colors of hardwood. The stair nose did not match our selected hardwood and stair nose was installed with a lip instead of flush causing a trip hazard and the wrong type of glue was being used for stair installation. We requested the work to stop until the correct stair nose material that actually matched our selected hard wood color could be delivered.

We were told the proper stair nose color was being shipped, two days later a new install team showed up and still the stair nose was not a matching color for the selected hardwood and we were told over and over this was the matching stair nose color and it was obviously not and the Empire Today team finally confessed there was not a matching stair nose for our selected hardwood. At that point we requested all material be removed and our order canceled since Empire Today was unable to provide matching hardwood materials for completing the order.

Over a two week period we have been attempting to get a confirmation from Empire Today that our order was canceled and refund is being processed. We have spoken with multiple Empire Today employees and each time has been a very unpleasant experience and we still don't have confirmation our refund is being processed. Multiple voicemails have been left with no response from Empire Today. So at this point they have our money ($10K) but failed to deliver the exact hardwood flooring that we purchased and we are left with bare stairs and floors in our house until we can obtain our refund money and hoping Consumer Affairs will be of some help. We have also raised an online complaint with the BBB today.

The day that they came out to lay my carpet, the first sales rep’s carpet was on the truck and the second sales rep's carpet was also on the truck with the incorrect carpet that I ordered. So they had to come back with the correct measurements again and come back once more with the correct carpet to lay it.

I told Empire Today that I thought their sales reps lacked training. How can one sales rep quote me one price then the next sales rep will tell me that I should have never ever been quoted that price? It was just a mess. Absolutely never again. I choose a carpet for a rental property. The installation day arrived. Two cowboys arrived to install my carpet. No surprise they couldn't install the carpet. The reasons were endless, but apparently it was their last day working with Empire, so I gather that had more to do with it than the carpet. Anyway the story goes on, I eventually get new carpet and it gets installed. I am left with a hole in one of my doors and greasy finger marks all over my white doors. I took photos with my phone and sent them to the Sales Manager, to which I was going to get a reimbursement of $200.00 to replace the door, just for the record this has never shown up, it has never been paid.

Now to top it all off the carpet is lifting. I ring and schedule an appointment to have this looked at and hopefully repaired. Guess who got stood up, I got a no show. I rang not sure why I had to, as they said this was the time available. I was told the person would be there in 3 hours, well no he wasn't yet again. I did receive a phone call finally from a man my husband said sounded drunk only to tell me he can't come - well isn't that a surprise, no not really. So now we are waiting for another phone call to tell me when they are available, even though I have already put a whole day aside waiting.

I would not recommend using Empire under any circumstances they do not stay by their word. I just used Lowe's for carpet and wonderful experience from start to finish. So Empire cannot only not lay carpet without damaging a person's property they do not care afterwards. The rental is leased to my adult son who takes excellent care of the home.

This July past I had $13000 of hardwood flooring installed by Empire. Within weeks of the install, cracks and splitting began to appear. Empire was called and replaced two boards. As weeks passed more splitting and cracking began to appear. Empire sent the installers to inspect the damage and conveyed they would return to complete the repairs. Appointments were made however, were never kept. After several phone calls Empire sent what they called an "independent" inspector to inspect the flooring. They chose the inspector. The inspection took approximately 10 minutes. The report was never sent to me although I requested a copy several times. According to Empire the inspector stated the probability of a moisture problem and subsequent drying of the wood, etc. Please note that this was a complete rip up of the top and subfloor... Empire installed a new plywood subfloor and 5/8 finished hardwood.

My home is centrally air conditioned which control both temperature and humidity. For heat I have hot water baseboard which is considered one of the best methods of home heating. The temperature in my home never exceeds 75 degrees and never falls below 64 all year round. The humidity is consistently between 35 and 45. The basement is finished and is also centrally cooled and heated. The inspector did not request to drill and test holes to ensure an accurate test however, only monitored the surface. My home is ideal for storing "anything" as the temperature and humidity is controlled year round. The idea of voiding a warranty to me is ludicrous from a company that prides itself on customer satisfaction. I am not looking for anything other than replacement of the damaged wood which amount to 14 small pieces out of hundreds or compensation to have an outside contractor complete the repair.

Their claims of moisture or any other reason is absurd as the conditions in my home are ideal for any type flooring. I am not a laymen and consider myself competent and educated and have decades of contracting and mechanical experience. In my opinion, the plywood purchased by Empire which was used for the subfloor contained moisture as is typical when purchasing any type of lumber. The hardwood flooring is dried by the manufacturer prior to shipping and packing. The hardwood was dry however the plywood obviously wasn't. The hardwood is nailed to the plywood subfloor, As the subfloor dries the hardwood splits as it is nailed to the subfloor. Either way, there is nothing in my home or anything that was done other than a faulty installation or the bringing in by Empire of a moist subfloor. The splitting has ceased as by this time any expansion or contraction has settled. In request this matter be settled ASAP.

He confirmed it that I chose the one that they were putting down and he said, “If you’re not satisfied, you could call me back after you walk on it for some time." But I was satisfied so all was good. I like the floor and the laminate flooring because they're easy to clean. I just take a damp mop and wipe up the dirt.

My flooring was installed in 2014. It was $5000 for laminate flooring. It's 2 years later and the flooring is buckling and chipped. The Empire salesman told me Empire makes its own flooring and uses wax between the boards to seal them tightly. The installer said that's not true. He installed Shaw Flooring, not a flooring made by Empire. In regards to my complaint, the Empire salesman said I am outside my 1 year warranty and the chipping and buckling is probably our fault. It would cost me more money for them to come out and inspect. I am so upset by this company. I would never use or recommend them. I thought I was spending extra for a warranty and peace of mind. I just recently paid the floor off and now it's falling apart.

Unfortunately, they called and cancelled on us for our first appointment. We rescheduled for today, and they got the appointment time wrong and are now not scheduled until later this week. One BIG reason for choosing them was the quick installation. We are awaiting carpet install to be able to move and had made many other plans around the carpet install schedule. We are so disappointed and they haven't even shown up. If our appointment gets pushed again we are contacting the Better Business Bureau and will pursue complete refund of our deposit!

I am only sorry I have to give them any stars. What a waste of time. Of course their "50/50" deal only applied to certain products. All we wanted was to pick out flooring, get a price, and get on with our night. The salesman called his boss to get us a "good deal". It was more than we wanted to pay, but we were willing to go with it. But first we had to sit through his life story. He did the typical salesman tricks trying to win over the wife (me) and seal the deal. He took up a couple hours of our time talking about himself. What he failed to do was his job. He never checked the flooring under our carpet. When the installers came out that was the first thing they did. They told us they were certain our tile was asbestos and because of that we couldn't get the hardwood we had picked because it would have to be nailed in. You can't do that with asbestos. If he had done his job we would have picked out another flooring right then and there, but instead they have lost a sale.

Just out of curiosity we asked the installers to measure. The salesman hadn't even gotten the measurements right. They would not have had enough flooring to complete the job. I wasted two vacation days on these people. They have since contacted me three times. The second time I asked them not to contact me again or I would post this information online... so here I am. Moral of the story - DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH EMPIRE.

Problem: I purchased service for vinyl flooring product and installation. I paid half of the amount (Oct.2016). The rest was financed (Fortiva). The contractors did the work in 2 days (told 1). Same day of completion I pointed out several gaps and overlaps in the planks (space in between and planks not flush side by side). They said it was normal, put glues on a few pieces. I called the customer service dept. the next day to file complaint. I even contacted the salesperson Lewis ** with concerns that day. This was repeated several times from Oct until now. During that time I have had 3 inspectors come out (from contractors that did the poor job). 1 took pictures and then reported no issue. Others took notes and tried to make repairs and could not. The service representatives set appointments without telling me when appointments were set (Mandy and Yvette). I had to take time off of work. Did not get follow up phone calls after inspectors came out.

I'd call and inquire after a week. I called the corporate number several times and kept getting transferred to the same people that were mishandling the information and concerns. I stated I needed a resolution before I continued to pay on the account given that the gaps were already collecting dust and moisture. I spoke to Julio ** 12/23/16 about replacement advised by inspector. 12/30/16 contractors called and asked if I was getting a totally different product than the original work.

They arrived with a child. They complained about doing the job. They'd take it up but I'd have no floor until Jan. 3 when they'd come back and finish 23 day job. They told me that they could do a floating floor and I should call and request that. Floating floors are substantially less than what I originally paid. They denied that it would be. They called mgmt and cancelled job and told me to reschedule. I called back & got a voicemail. I no longer trust the company and follow thru. An independent contractor confirmed poor work.

We didn't know how good the job was going to be and it was an awkward situation. They should let people know they want the money upfront. We wanted a simple change in the vinyl floor of our kitchen. The commercials and website advise you to schedule an appointment in your home to see HUNDREDS of vinyl flooring options. When the rep arrived she didn't have the choice we liked on the website so I picked another color. There was a lot of negotiation about the price and I paid for it that day to get the best deal. My husband did not like the color so the rep came back to our home. Without wanting a wood grain, we had a choice of only 3 realistic vinyl patterns for our kitchen space. I had already paid for the floor so we picked a color and went ahead with installation.

I HATE IT. I wish the rep had the ability to show me more than a small swatch. It is too expensive to replace so I'm stuck with it. Why don't the reps have an app like the website so I can see what it will look like over a large area? And why so few options? It is a pressured sale. Not happy with Empire and DO NOT RECOMMEND for value, quality, or choice of flooring options.

I am very disappointed with Empire, and will not recommend them to anyone. The installers did not complete the job Monday, December 19 after being at my home all day. I placed the order on November 23, 2016. The sales representative was nice and knowledgeable about the process, but installation day was horrible.

The installers did not have enough quarter round to finish my great room, and neither of the hallways have been completed. The installer tried to take away the extra hardwood from a box that had been opened. I was told by my sales rep, and a representative who called me back that if the box has been opened, that the customer keeps it. The installer appeared to be annoyed when I told him that I wanted what we paid for back. He had already put it back inside of his truck.

After they left, I noticed that glue started oozing through the hardwood. There is also glue smudged on several pieces of the wood everywhere that they installed the wood. They did not leave the job looking professional as I thought that they would. There are cuts in the wood that appear to be too short in several areas, and the cuts are not consistent. I was told by the installers that the quarter round would cover it. The installers left trash where the carpet was pulled up, and they left wood with a nail sticking upward in my driveway. I am not sure how they got glue on my curtains, or why they took a screen off of one of my windows and left it on the ground.

I called to let Empire's home office staff know that I was dissatisfied, but they were not quick to call me back at all. I even called them before the installers left to voice my dissatisfaction during the process. I finally got a call back, and was told that they could make it back out on Friday, December 23, 2016 with the material that they were lacking. I have had to rearrange my schedule again because the job was not finished on December 19, 2016. I am an extremely patient person. However, when you spend $3,400 on a project, you expect a certain level of professionalism and competency.

I hope that they resolve this. I will never use them, or recommend them to anyone. This has been an extremely unpleasant experience, and I will try to upload some of the pictures. I felt that I could trust this company to do a good job. Well, maybe I thought too highly of this company. I will see if they can change this disaster to a quality experience. I am still trying to figure out how do you run out of material when the order was placed on November 23, 2016. You received 10% of the payment that was asked for before the sales representative left my home, and the entire balance was paid before the job was started.

I would hate to think that Empire would take your money, and not be concerned about the customer being happy. I will definitely use another company for a couple of other projects that I need done in a few months. I paid for a professional job and a peace of mind. However, I am still having to handle this four days later. I hope the wood doesn't look like this when guests visit my home.

I liked the young lady from Empire Today who came to the house and presented everything. She brought out samples that I liked, was really good at explaining about what things actually really get, and did a very nice job. The installers came on time, were very fast with their work, and didn’t seem like they were hardly here at all. They installed carpet in the living room, dining room, and hallway and I really liked the color of the carpet better than I thought I was going to. It’s a little bit darker than what I had and the pile is a little bit longer. I’m really happy with it and everybody who sees it likes it, too.

Met with salesperson on 11/4/16. Contracted to do ceramic tile in laundry room and LVT in upstairs bathroom. Paid in full for job at that time, 1,602 for bath and 833 for laundry. Installation scheduled for 11/8. On 11/7 I noted my credit card had been charged twice, i.e. there were 2 charges for 1,602 and 2 charges for 833. Called customer service, she said she only saw one payment received by Empire for each. I called my credit card and disputed one of each charge. It was taken off. On 11/10 the other charges were credited to my account as purchase returns from Empire. On 11/8 the installation was done. The laundry was fine. The bath was NOT! The floor was horribly done with the LVT tiles un-level and the wrong grout was used.

Starting on 11/9 multiple calls were made to the regional customer service. Voice mails were left and we were told we would be called back. Also called and e-mailed salesperson and called the main Empire customer service number. Told on 11/21 someone would be coming to look at the installation and make a judgement as to what needed to be done. Finally sent someone to look at the job, the same installers who did the installation. They agreed the whole thing needed to be removed and re-installed. Started the replacement on 11/29 and finished 12/5.

Due to the double charge dispute at this point and until now, I have not been re-charged for the work. This is the only bathroom upstairs and we were unable to use it from 11/8-12/5. When I talked to multiple customer service representatives from the corporate and regional offices, seeking some compensation for the inconvenience they uniformly stated that Empire does not give compensation for any of these issues because "that's under the installation warranty". Meaning, to me, that Empire feels that doing the job adequately... eventually is a good enough performance standard. This is not the standard I expected from your company and should not be yours.

As soon as our new kitchen floor was installed, we contacted Empire to express our dissatisfaction with the product. There were chips noticed on some tiles and no matter how many times the floor would be cleaned, it always looked dirty and rubbed out. They had an "inspector" come to our home and he "determined" that items must have been dropped on the floor to create the chips (when that did not happen) and that the dirt is the result of the area being used with "heavy traffic". Our children are in school all day (and some married and not residing in our home) so there is no "heavy traffic" in our kitchen. They claim to have a warranty on their products, but they do not honor their warranties. Their final determination was that nothing can be done. I would never order from them again and would advise anyone else to stay far away from them.

Before moving in, we had to take out the old rug that smelled really bad, then had Empire Today install carpet on our stairs, and hardwood upstairs. I love the hardwood floor upstairs. They look good and are easy to clean. I have real bamboo hardwood floor downstairs and it's gorgeous, but it scratches so bad and is impossible to keep clean. I prefer the kind we got from Empire, and when I get more money, I would love to redo the other rooms that we didn't do. The people from their team were great, and it was a good experience.

I got this one type of wood flooring that always looked like it was shining and it's installed in my living room. It’s beautiful and I love it. However, I'm 72 years old and I wasn't told that it was a very slippery flooring. It's not for everybody and it's not for the living room. In my case, shoes have to be taken off too when people come into my front door. This type of flooring is mostly for the dining room. I would put it there if I ever do it ever again. I had a wonderful experience, nonetheless.

Its overlapping the carpet on my stairs which looks like crap and they didn't remove any glue so I have dirt stuck to it now. I have been trying to get them to resolve the issue for over a month now and I even have a dispute with my credit card co. I have called them at least 20 times and get told they are going to fix it and will call me back but never do. I recently had laminate flooring placed 12/20 and 12/21. Prior to starting the job the contractor (who was very nice and professional) informed me of items that wouldn't be able to be completed, which my Sales representative stated, "It could be done!" #1 Trim around ceramic floor could NOT be replaced (which Sales representative stated, "It could be done!"). #2 Pedestal sink needed to be removed prior to completing the 1/2 bathroom. Which was NOT disclosed during our initial free estimate appointment. I had to find a plumber last minute to come and remove, which was an extra expense that was NOT anticipating.

I called Empire immediately on 12/20 prior to install, requesting to speak to someone to file a complaint. Customer service representative informed me that a supervisor would have to call me back. Which I declined that option since, Empire called everyday prior to appointment to confirm. After being placed on the Customer service supervisor came on the line (which I explained my concerns) and her response was, "Ma'am that is something that we do not have control over!"

This NOT the consumer fault since this is FALSE advertising. Customer service supervisor informed me that she will forward my files to "Discount department" but it will take 2-3 days. I'm truly disappointed with the whole Empire (sales/customer service experience). I will be filing a BBB complaint as well. Would I recommend Empire Flooring... NOOO! Would I recommend our contractors YES, because throughout the whole ordeal he was honest, apologetic and a true professional, unlike Empire Flooring.

I called to cancel the order and was assured I would receive. Full refund. I thought as the $1,712.00 was electronically withdrawn it would be electronically credited back... I was very wrong in my thought. I called shortly after to see where the refund was and was told it would take up to 15 days to receive the check. At that time I told the rep that the check had to be returned to us to the NJ address that was on the check, I was told it would be.

On my 2nd phone call after not receiving the check I was told it was sent to the FL address and they would contact the refund dept to cancel the check and it would be mailed within 15 days. 3rd call was told it was mailed to the NJ address on 12-1-16. I just had the most terrible experience. I tore up my entire house moving everything but the big furniture out into the living and dining room and the installers arrived and said they could not install the carpet because the driveway was wet (it had rained). I have a two car garage that was empty and they couldn't work around it. They don't install the carpet themselves, they subcontract and their subcontractors needed a sunny day. I don't know why they came at all. No one told me that the installation was weather dependent or I would have waited until summer. I am so disappointed. I got a good deal, but it wasn't worth it since they couldn't deliver. I will say that the sales representative offered an additional discount, but I can't keep my house torn up over the holiday waiting on the weather. I just wish I had been told in advance. I was completely blindsided.

Resolution update 1/14/20117: I had a sad experience where I was promised an installation that did not work out due to weather. Since that time, Empire has worked hard to make me a happy customer. The installers have just finished installing the most beautiful carpet in record time! I would highly recommend this company.

I called first thing the next day to address my concerns and was told that I would be contacted. That didn't happen. I don't think I got the carpet I chose or the padding I was promised.

My next problem was the amount of carpet that was left over. The rep said it should be 6ft but it's way more, which leads me to believe that the salesperson's measurements were off. I sent the rep a picture of all the carpet left over and she gasped and said "oh yeah. I see what you mean, I will work on this and give you a call back on Monday 12-5-16." That did not happen. So I waited until today 12-9 and called them back and was told "we called you on 12-6 and told you the case was closed and we did not charge extra." That did not happen. No one called me. I don't believe they gave me 2 rooms of carpet for free. THE MEASUREMENTS were off. The install crew did a decent job with what they had. I told the sales rep that in 2 months I am doing 2 baths, kitchen, and entry hall in ceramic tile and I would call. We had Empire Today send the salesman out and he was a good salesman. I was given a deal so I couldn’t refuse and so Empire installed carpet in our front room, kitchen, and the steps. The installers were on time, very, very professional, excellent, and also good to talk to. They didn’t leave any trash and cleaned up everything. They did a good job putting the carpet together and it looked good. The carpet is in a darker color so it's easier to keep clean. It's comfortable, and has met my expectations and beyond. I would recommend Empire Today to anyone.

I decided to upgrade the house and put a little money into it. I painted, bought a new couch and do the carpet. I haven't had new carpeting in seven years. I had the carpet installed by Empire Today in the living room, the foyer and the hallway. They showed me a couple of different ones and I picked out what I wanted. They were more professional in what they did. The lady that gave me the estimates told me that it wouldn't take long and they did. They were in here for two and a half hours and were gone. They were very courteous, polite and did the job well. Everything looks good. It's a lot cleaner now and the smell is better.

I was updating our house to sell it. So I had carpeting installed in the den and the family room by Empire Today and it was good. They were comparable to other brands I've considered, and seemed to be around the same price as others, but they were so fast. I also had a friend who recommended them. They were efficient, attentive, and I really like the color of the carpeting.

I had Empire Today put linoleum in the pantry and the kitchen and laminated flooring throughout the rest of the house. I like the laminate a lot. It's like gray oak and it worked out good with the rest of the house. I don't have that much sunlight into my home, and it brightened it up. I was very happy with the salesperson who was very considerate and the labor force. They worked from 10:30 in the morning until 7:00 at night and were very efficient and neat. I was very impressed. They finished the job and made sure that everything was right before they left. I couldn't ask for much more than that. I was very happy with the salesperson, too. It was a good experience.

Empire Today installed carpet and vinyl tiles in my basement. We’re finishing our basement up so it’s on a concrete floor. A rep came to my house and scheduled it all within an hour and it went on schedule. Empire's cost was comparable to other brands and it was the "one-year, no interest” that sold me. The installers came in, did the job and it's good. They didn't stretch the carpet enough but as long as it doesn’t ripple after vacuuming it once or twice a week then it’s a good job. But if it ripples, then I'll be calling them.

I was scheduled to have my carpet installed today 12-7-16. This was for an emergency involving a sick family member. I put my faith in Empire Today to do what they said they would do and install today. So I didn't get other options in case Empire failed. Today Empire called and said they had to postpone my install because an installer was not available. Do not put your faith in this company to do what they say. Overpriced and unreliable. I guarantee they have installers on "bigger jobs" today. I got minimized. So I'll go with a local installer at this point, even if it takes more time. Screw Empire. Call anyone else.

I used Empire Today before when they did the three floors in my other house and I was happy with their job so I went with them again. They did the hardwood flooring in our bedroom. When it came to something that wasn’t right and coming out, the rep was very good. He was very knowledgeable and everything that he said to me, that’s what they did. The product was delivered on time and it was put in without any problems. And if they saw a problem they made me aware of it. They were really wonderful. I’d use Empire again.

It would be about four weeks out before another company could do our flooring and we didn’t want to wait that long, so we went with Empire. We had them put down laminate floors in our bedroom and they did a great job. They were also a lot cheaper compared to other brands. We’re planning on doing three other rooms in the house and we might go with Empire again.

Empire Today put a hallway in the foyer and down the hall for me way back when. And when I recently had them install my hardwood flooring, they also did very well. I like the color of the flooring I got. I also wanted them to put a marble thing in to the hallway or kitchen, but they said they didn’t do that. But I noticed that when I had the tile put in, they gave me some marble in the doorways. Otherwise, I was satisfied with the work. The people were very good and professional so I intend to use them again.

Extremely poor carpet installation. Extremely poor re-installation scheduling - two months. Still waiting. No one knows what a transition strip is - plastic strip at the end of the carpet near a door way! Unable to replace that after agreement to replace when order was paid for in advance - in full. Carpet raveling to the point of dangerous tripping situations... Install scheduled for today between 9-11, oops they called to change to 1-2 at 8:30 because of another client issue. Hope they will show up (again). Needless to say I am so disappointed... Still waiting for a resolve.

When I needed some flooring in my kitchen done, I called around. I figured that Empire Today must be doing a good work as they've been in the business that long. And they can do the work quicker than some of these other places that I called that might need months. Empire Today didn't take long before they scheduled the work and got it done. And the guy that did it did a wonderful job. The flooring looks wonderful in the kitchen. It made it look bigger. I will certainly have them back when I get ready to do something else.

It was good, except when I gave the installer my credit card, the day after, I had all charges on my credit card. It may have nothing to do with Empire. It was just a coincidence, they canceled the charge and it's fine but it was just a little odd.

My husband's nephew had carpeting put in by Empire Today and he recommended them. We bought the Armstrong Newport Hardwood floors from Empire Today. We had it installed in our 2 bedrooms and the parlor. This is already the third time I had flooring put in different places and they were all the time Bruce flooring. I had Bruce put in my house 30 years ago. But back then you had to sand it and put the color in it and then you had to polyurethane. This one doesn’t. It's just ready to go.

I like the colors that we picked and I like the green that’s in it. I just wish it had a little bit more polyurethane cause I have dogs with nails. I know that they’re going to get scratched, but eventually, it could be sanded and be done, in the future. I like the salesman and the crew. They were very good and very polite. Overall, they did a real good job. The crew was quick and very neat. They cleaned up everything after. They asked if we were happy with the flooring and they asked if they can help in any other way. They were very knowledgeable and very punctual. My house looks beautiful. My rooms even look bigger. We were very pleased with Empire Today, so I will definitely recommend them. And if I need more in any of my other apartments, I always have them in mind.

Empire Today had a 50% off special offer and we had a really good conversation with the gentleman that came. He answered all of our questions. It just all felt right to my daughter and I so we decided to go with them. We had them install carpets in our front room, two bedrooms, and the landing upstairs. The rep showed us a video of the carpet that we purchased being in a zoo for two weeks with different animal traces over it and they just shampooed the traces right out. That was quite impressive and we assumed that was legitimate.

My husband was here for the installation and he says they were good. There was a piece that had to be glued which got me concerned that it might show a seam, but nothing is showing. We also have a big entertainment center which we couldn't move and the installers moved it for us. By the time they were done with the work, everything was back where it belonged. They did a good job. Everybody was home and the installers had to use the front door to enter a couple of times. We tried not to interfere with them too much but they never complained to me. I have passed the word about this company along to a couple of family members.

We were considering hardwood throughout the entire house but we got what they called consumer shock when we realized how much it actually costs so we did carpeting instead. I bought the carpet from Empire Today and they installed it the next day which was pretty impressive. However, they didn’t send enough guys. The poor guys worked 10 hours and it was ridiculous how late they were here but I felt bad for them so I bought them dinner. Nonetheless, it was all in all a very good experience and we would definitely use them again. It was a pleasure doing business with Empire.

I like the quality of Empire Today but they are more expensive than other flooring companies. The work of the installers was top quality but I could not communicate with them because there was a language barrier. They tried really hard to understand what I was saying and I tried to understand what they were saying, too. But the flooring was wonderful. They took extra care to do wonderful work. In my trim pieces, they did it the way it should be done. But I wanted my quarter rounds to meet at my corners, and they did not do that. So I had to have someone else come in and redo my quarter rounds. And it was not Empire’s fault, it was a lack of communication.
