I had so many issues with Empire Today that I think even 1 Star is too much for them!!! Sales Rep Jeff ** mislead me in everything he could and said everything he could to close the deal, from pricing to guarantees to even saying they would match my quotes. He stated that he has been working for them for a long time and yet did not even know the product correctly and sold me incorrect product that then after signing the contract had to come back and we had to change the product we had like because of his lack of knowledge to what he was selling. There is too much to mention to even a Retention agent named Joanna who promised me the ski and moon to not cancel and then every time I would call she would be off and were unable to contact her.

From a 3 day install to a 7 day install due to lack of knowledge of communication as to how much it really takes to complete the jobs, lost time of my family weekend and work due to installers not being able to finish. Installers tried their best but that does not take away the lack of professionalism Empire today had. I would NOT recommend Empire Today at all to anyone, and to be honest with you, would not ever make business with them ever again! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY.

Empire Today installed the carpets on my living room. The gentlemen who installed them were really nice and worked well. The carpet has the same quality compared to other brands, but their costs were a couple of hundred dollars less. I really like the way it looks and overall, it was a really good experience. I would use them and recommend them in the future. In fact, I have an appointment with them again to have another room carpeted.

I went to Home Depot and Lowe's but their timeframe did not work so I went with Empire Today to install the carpet for my entire house. The flooring has met my expectations and I like how plush the pad is. The installation crew was really good. I'm a general contractor and so I was very pleased with them.

I’ve used Empire before and I like the work. So I bought Carpeting for the bedroom. The color of the carpeting is beautiful and the texture is nice. It was as I expected it to be. The only thing not done right was when they did the installation, they also installed it in our bedroom closet. So, they had to take off the closet door and now it’s not on properly. It’s not on the track.

Sales made promises they didn't keep. Most important Sales Complaint: Empire would install floor in the entire first floor with no thresholds. There are eight thresholds after installation. Installation: Took extra day, never advised of thresholds before laying them, yet we were home all day to approve extra costs. After Care: Installed 1/2016, began lifting in two rooms. Empire came back, fixed flooring (by that time in several places). When we were phoned to see how the repairs went, I advised rep, the flooring was already coming up in other places. I told her I would call back to fix again. I called, as was lifted and lifting in other rooms. (4 of 6 rooms showed lifted flooring). I sent pictures. I was advised person would come to check out floor, see if qualifies for replacement. Moisture showed .02 (no problem there). Did you know you can't wash laminate floor? It's horrible!!

So, floors showed kept bone dry, representative took photos and spoke, which I videoed in case of future lawsuit. Received call that flooring was discontinued, that Empire was going back to manufacturer to request replacement. We would hear back in a week (Which we have not heard anything to this date). Sales lied. If we would have had full disclosure we would not have decided on the spot to buy new flooring from Empire. Sales rep lied. Cannot wash laminate floors (CRAZY). Not honoring warranty without question, although there is no doubt we did not misuse the floor. Moisture was measured with scientific equipment at .02. Empire's expert advised that is DRY. NO PROBLEM.

Flooring discontinued. Not following up in timely manner, nor on the schedule they advised. Flooring installed in January is now coming up in a brand new room. Absolutely will file suit if we get jammed by using their service. Lots of photos to choose from (I've made entire book of emails/notes/photos). Paid over $11,000. Floor looks horrible.

I have a friend that had Empire Today put in, and she really likes it. I also liked the salesperson at Empire so I bought carpeting for my living room, dining room, hallway, and two bedrooms and blinds for my living room and bedroom. The cost was way more at Home Depot for pretty much the same quality. I like the color and softness of my new carpet. I have a dog and the carpet cleans up really good. I had carpeting installed in my home by Empire Today. We were pleased with the product and satisfied that it would be a good deal. The carpet is about five feet by 12 feet. I had measured the carpet prior to the Empire guy measuring it, and he said, "We have to have this excess because it might not fit, otherwise." So, I bought that. In reality, I ended up with a lot of extra carpets. But other than that, everything was fine. The installer did fine work. He was here when I needed him. So, I was pleased with the installation.

We purchased carpet from Empire Today a year ago. We had a good experience with the salesman and the installers. However, I immediately noticed pieces of the carpet pulling out and a few months later, it started looking really matted. I had the carpet professionally cleaned because it was in the contract it would have to be clean every 12 to 18 months. It didn't look any different than before I had it cleaned. I called Empire and they sent out the installers who said they had seen this before and it was a defect in the carpet and would need to be replaced and would let the office know.

I waited for a couple of weeks before calling back only to find my case had been closed. They said they would send an inspector out and the inspector concluded it was an issue with the carpet cleaning. I called back and talked to someone at the corporate office who said it was a 3rd party inspection and there was nothing they could do. I find it really hard to believe the issue was caused by having it cleaned when it looked matted before I had it cleaned. So now we are stuck with carpet that looks horrible and I am so frustrated and disappointed with Empire and Shaw.

I ripped the bathroom flooring before Empire came in. I wanted to check the floor myself to make sure I got all the crummy wood that was there. So, the guys came in with half of the floor ripped out around the toilet, and they had to replace the plyscore on the underlay. And they did a great job. The ceramic flooring is easy to clean. Ceramic is better in a bathroom area because of the moisture. I had vinyl there before and over the course of the years, it wore out and the floor started to sag around the toilet area. I was very happy with the two guys that came here. I thought they were gonna have a harder time. But they were quick, efficient and they knew what they were doing. They also did the stairs for my daughter and my son-in-law. And they did a wonderful job there.

I purchased a carpet from Empire that was installed in a house that I manage. The tenants love it and they’re very happy with it. Empire was the first I called because I saw a commercial that they were offering a discount. The whole time I was dealing with them, I had their slogan in my mind. However, I did not enjoy my conversations with the salesperson. The salesperson did meet at the house and dealt with my tenant directly and I spoke with him over the phone. But he wasn’t helpful, nor informative, nor courteous. That was a turnoff but he worked with me on the price, which I enjoyed. And then, I had some issues.

First of all, they didn’t install on the day that the salesperson said he would install. We had three appointments to install and they installed several days later. Then the installers showed up and said the carpet that was already there was in a very poor condition and they insisted the tenant give them $400 in order to pull the carpet, to which the tenant said, “No.” There was a lot of runarounds and back-and-forth with the office. I could never reach the person that I meant to talk to every time I called. An operator consistently said, “I’ll leave a message and they’ll call you back.” Then they would call me back in one or two days. So, it’s a very long process.

We had a laminate floor installed on August 5 2016 and a week later carpet was also installed by Empire Today. When the carpet was installed a transition piece for our laminate floor was not put back securely as originally installed by the empire laminate floor installer. We were instructed to contact Empire for warranty repair to solve this issue. I called and spoke to a customer service representative and then an installation coordinator to schedule an appointment. I scheduled an appointment for Saturday September 10, 2016. We waited all day and no one showed up at our home, no phone call to let us know if this was not going to happen. I called and spoke to them and they told me they were sorry and we rescheduled for Monday September 26th 2016. We waited again and another no show on this date as well, again no phone call from them.

I called a third time and again they expressed their apologies and assured me that this was a priority and scheduled a third appointment for Saturday October 1, 2016. Again we waited all day and no one showed up at our home. At this point I see no reason to contact them again, apparently they are refusing to honor their warranty by not coming to do any repair work. After filing a complaint with the BBB on October 3, 2016 Empire contacted me on October 5, 2016 and we discussed a form of resolution. This involved sending a repair person on October 7, 2016 to do the repair and compensating me $300. So as usual the repairman never showed up, never called and I have not seen any of the compensation I was promised. I asked for my entire purchase price back and have not heard from them. They will not return my calls.

I previously had several hits and misses with local vendors, and this time I went with Empire. I got two different things from them. One is a vinyl flooring for a kitchen / dining room and the other one is a carpeting for the living room, bedrooms, and hallway. These products have already been installed. The quality of the materials that I received was good. Furthermore, I went with a national brand company that's a little bit better priced, compared to other brands. Aside from the quality, I liked that there's a good selection. I already had the style and colors in mind.

The carpet I got was what I expected. But the linoleum came loose within a few days. There were bubbles up in it at the lower end and a seam came apart. It wasn't installed correctly. After I contacted Empire about the issue, the contractor they sent out was supposed to come and fix it. The contractor scheduled the repair five times, but they never showed up each time, and I was never contacted that they weren't going to come. I hired a person to be there and wait for them, and it cost me four hours, at $15 an hour, each time. It was pretty bad home service with the linoleum. It took Empire about six weeks to fix it.Empire finally got somebody to show up and repair the linoleum. Since then, they have discontinued contracting with that company.

I've had a bad experience with Empire regarding communication. They need to work on their communication so that I can contact the people who will be working with me and they'll respond. I wasn't happy with people not being responsible, not showing up when they're supposed to, and not doing the right work. Also Empire still owes me money as reimbursement for several things, and I'm getting no response from the company. They were supposed to put down new vinyl flooring, and then the Empire guy decided that this wasn't needed. But they had already charged me for a new one, and they have not refunded me for that yet. In addition, they were supposed to pick up the tiles that were there previously. I had replaced the flooring, so they didn't have to do that, but I have not been reimbursed for the tile cleanup. I'm still going to be working with Empire and, hopefully, these issues will be resolved satisfactorily.

I am not please by no means with Empire. When I made my initial appointment I inquired about laminate hardwood flooring. I explain clearly that I have a dog and wanted flooring that withstand scratches the best. The sales representative told us that the new vinyl flooring that has a lifetime warranty. Nevertheless my flooring look horrible. This is misleading the consumer. I will never recommend Empire to anyone. I will have to seek legal representation to correct this horrible experience.

Updated on 10/21/2016: I previously wrote a review, and I received a email from ConsumerAffairs stating "that Empire said everything was resolved." This is untrue. I was supposed to have Alan inspection done on 10/12/16. I was to receive a call the morning of the inspection, but that never happen. I received a call about 4:30pm from the inspector stating he could be at my home by 5pm. I told him l was out following my plan for the day. He said someone from Empire was supposed to call me that morning to confirm his appointment time. I told the inspector, "I never received a call from Empire." Empire was not respectful of my time nor his. So, by no means my issues are resolved with Empire. The situation is getting worse. Like I said before, the consumer seems to get the raw treatment.

They did a reinstall a couple months later and it is coming up all over the place. Looks terrible. I tell everyone it is Empire so they don't use this company. It still like walking on rocks in places. I saved for a long time to do this and my old carpet was in better shape than this. Also had flooring done in kitchen and laundry and bathroom had to have them out for bubbles and a spot that needed totally redone. Ugh it has discolored and looks terrible and cheap. Contract number ** Job Number **. On top of this on the second installation they put me on a bad credit report for not paying when I was making payments even though they did a terrible job. Wish I would have used someone else. Please save your hard earned money and use a reputable company.

Because the salesman forced me almost. The guy wouldn't leave. He was creepy and disgusting. He gave me 4 different prices all lower than the one prior to sell me carpet. I had a floor installed in August 2015 I started to see problems with spaces in the floor. I called customer service in February and had them come and look at the floor. They came and said the spaces in the floor will from the light-colored wood that I chose and then I would always have this problem. They did replace however 5 boards. The installer that they said I really should get a different color floor but I would be charged for it because this is going to constantly happen. I called customer service the following day and explain my situation. The guy that I spoke to said that "that was wrong. It's not the color of the floor." If I have any more problems please call them. After a few months have gone by the floor is getting worse. Meanwhile I had been in the hospital undergoing chemotherapy so I couldn't call any sooner to get somebody back here.

I called 2 weeks ago and told them what was going on. They sent another installer here last weekend. He looked at the floor and said "It's not you. It's the floor. They no longer carry this for it's discontinued." He called his supervisor and she advised me that they do not carry the floor anymore and I was to call in the morning to have somebody come and help me pick out a new floor. I called the next morning and spoke to customer service. I was at the store was discontinued because it had formaldehyde in it and it did not meet their standards. He said he would send me out the report which I never received especially that I was diagnosed with cancer I do not want any formaldehyde in my house. We schedule the talk to come out tonight October 11th 2016. My window is between 5 and 9. I advise them to "Please call 1 hour before arrival so I could leave work and be home in time."

I called customer service this morning to make sure they were still coming in to make sure that they were going to call me an hour before they were coming. Verified my address and phone number, was given a verbal yes that they were still coming. I arrived home at 6 o'clock with still no phone call from them. I tried calling customer service and they were closed. It is now 9:10 p.m. No call and no show. I am beyond aggravated. I want this floor out of my house, I want a new floor put down with no formaldehyde, and I want to be compensated. I spent a lot of money on the floor and was never told that there was any formaldehyde in this product. If they discontinue this floor in February why what customers that purchased this floor notified that they had problems with this product and that if we had any issues we should contact them and they would take care of it. I do not understand the reason behind any of this.

Their customer service is terrible. When I leave messages the calls do not get returned. I have to keep calling. Once in a blue moon somebody will call me back. This company needs to do the right thing for me it's not. I will be contacting a lawyer. This is very unfair. I purposely went with Empire Carpet because they did not contain any formaldehyde in their product as I was told. I am hoping to contact them again tomorrow and give them a piece of my mind. I am very frustrated and annoyed I will never deal with them again once this is over.

UPDATED ON 10/13/2016: I am writing in regards to a post that I posted last night. I called this morning because the installer did not show up last night as scheduled. Angelica from corporate called me to apologize and said that she would have somebody out tonight between 6 and 9 they would call me an hour before arrival. Well at 8:06 I got a call from the installer he said he was running very behind and he would not make it to my house tonight and that he would put a call in tomorrow morning and let them know that I had to be rescheduled.

I am very unhappy this is the second time somebody did not show. At this point I just want my money back. I will have somebody else come and without the floor and put a new one down. Very bad customer service. I am aggravated and very disappointed I spent a lot of money on this floor. The problem is still not solved. I will be calling them again tomorrow. I did leave a message the corporate explaining the situation again tonight.

The past few years, I’ve gotten carpeting and tiles. I liked what I saw at Empire Today, but had problems with the outdoor carpeting this year. It’s a year old and it came very stained. I called them and they said it was a water stain. I told them to bring someone in to see the stain and they sent an inspector out who said it wasn't a water stain. He said that whoever installed it put too much of the glue under the carpet and it came through on top. Empire didn’t fix anything. They told me that the warranty had worn off and the carpet had to be replaced. I told them I was not going to replace it and to get someone to come in, clean it and see if they could get the horrible stain out. This was one bad experience and they should’ve given me a discount. But they wouldn't so I told them to just forget it.

My experience with Empire Today has been the worse. Had problems with this company since day one, they did a terrible job with installation. Have called the company numerous times, get the run around all the time from one person to the other and never a solution. A week ago walking in my kitchen with socks on. A piece of the wood got stuck to my sock and ripped off leaving a big spot missing in the floor. Called company and was told my warranty was over 1 week ago. Therefore will be a $375.00 to fix the floor.

We wanted a 12mm floor, carpet removed, furniture moved, and installed. The floor included padding and quarter round. The standard stuff nothing special. The quote was $17,200!!! We stopped talking and asked her to leave. No point in talking about this. It was over budget. Not sure how they could get to $6000. I told her "We have quotes from your same company from march 2015 for $5200." Not sure how in a year we got from $5200 to $17,200??? Every quote we have received is around $4800 to 6200. Not sure why this company thinks $17,000 is acceptable. SCAM!!!

Two neighbors recommended Empire and since we’ve already done flooring on the main level of my whole home, Empire did pretty much the whole upper level. The entire upstairs and the staircase, four bedrooms, the hallway, all of the closets, and staircase have been installed with new hardwood flooring. So far, I like the flooring's color and design. Although we had a little problem and they were back out here the other day. They didn't tell me that they don’t make a nail putty yet for the wood that I chose. It’s a lot of an eyesore that the putty is a different color from the wood considering my floor is over $9,000. I don’t like that. That’s quite annoying to me since I didn’t know that in the beginning. Had I known that, I would have picked a different wood color. I would still recommend them but I’d tell them about my experience so that they could make an informed choice.

I asked the man from Empire Today that came originally about the half-price situation as advertised on TV, and the only thing he ever told me is that he will give me every discount he can. I went ahead and gave him my credit card and he charged $200. There was an additional $700 and odd dollars that had to be paid. Then, Empire sent a crew in there. First of all, they couldn't speak English and they demanded the payment before they started to work. I'm 85 years old, and have never paid in advance before the work is done, but they insisted. I'm paralyzed in a care home and had to make a trip home to check this work out. And of course, my wife was there and they wouldn't start to work until they got the payment. I had already been about three weeks waiting to get the work done. They even promised to get it done one day and it was canceled for some ungodly reason. Then, they rescheduled me a couple of weeks down the line.

I think Empire is running a little bit of a con game. Their price was never quoted for what I'm paying for the carpet per yard. The company never satisfied me on anything on the half-price deal because the price I paid for a hallway and a living room which was all there was and there was no furniture but the bed to be moved over. Furthermore, how I wished to hell that Empire would get someone that spoke English to some degree. I know there are a lot of foreigners here. Also, I've served in many foreign countries and dealt with many foreign languages, but my problem is I don't speak them. I had a roof job done on the house and had to run into the same thing - non-English speaking people going to work, which I've got no problem with that, but there should be at least one person that could speak English.

I was satisfied with the work after it was finished, but for the life of me, I still can't figure out why they wanted the payment before they'd do the work. I had already made a down payment on the project. I don't think I'd ever do any business with this outfit again. If I hadn't been paralyzed, I'd have kicked the crew out of the house and sued the company because my experience was ridiculous.

I’ve been very pleased, but as far as the installation, it made me very nervous or insecure as a younger female to have a bunch of people at my house whom I do not know what they’re saying. Right now we have Latino workers but they ought not to be talking constantly in a language that I can’t understand. I don’t like that and it’s intimidating to me. Empire Today sucks. They were supposed to install carpeting on two and a half rooms in two different trips because we have so much junk. The guys do one room and the other room the following week. We paid $1,200 which is more than what we're supposed to because the job was $900. However, they didn't want to do it unless I gave them the money, so I told them that I'll pay when they did their job. I'm not paying for a job that's gonna be done in one or two weeks later.

They gave me a hard time and they lost so much time talking to the company back and forth. I ended up talking to some big shot from the main office who cannot make a decision. It took me an hour and fifty minutes on the phone and eventually they were able to do it the way we agreed it done. We had something done by them last year and had an argument with their salesman because of something that he promised but later denied. Then later on, he kept calling me because I mentioned that we had two rooms on the third floor that needed to be done, but if he'd come, I'd throw him out. When you’re in business, you represent the company. If you can’t represent the company, don’t be a salesman. You’re the first people making the deal, so you should do what you promise to do.

We saw an advertisement on tv for half price flooring and installation on select floors. Empire Today states that you get a FREE in home estimate guaranteed for 30 days with NO HIDDEN FEES. We contacted them and scheduled our estimate and told vinyl sheet was included on the half off sale. We were given an estimate for vinyl sheet flooring in our basement of just under 300 square feet. The sales rep was friendly at first. The price was well over $5000 for certain floors and almost $4000 for the vinyl sheet we wanted, which WAS NOT HALF OFF. We were told about various payment options. We stated that we weren't going to sign anything yet, but wanted to talk about it and compare prices.

He said the floor was top of the line, but didn't tell us what the brand or maker of the floor was to compare it with other companies. Nor were we told how the price was broken. We were then told he could not guarantee our estimate after he left if we did not pay a refundable 10% discount. He offered to drop the price to $2,200 if we signed today. Not going to happen. When we wouldn't sign, he seemed very agitated.

I'm sorry, their website says 30 day guaranteed FREE Estimate with NO hidden fees. That was definitely not the case. We will not use Empire Today as we feel it was deceitful, false advertising, and we cannot trust them to not hit us with additional fees from "issues that arise during install" if they can't give us what was advertised for their quotes.

After hearing about Empire Today on television commercials for YEARS I thought I would give them a try to get new carpet for our home. The online scheduling process worked great and even sent me an e-mail confirmation of my meeting. I took off from work to meet them between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm for my initial sales meeting. Around 2:00 pm on the day of my scheduled appointment I was contacted by someone from Empire (not given a name) and I was advised my sales representative was running late, but he would head my way around 2:30 pm. I agreed to wait.

About an hour later (3:30 pm) I was called again by a different person from Empire who asked me, "Did someone ever call you to reschedule your appointment?" I explained that I had not heard my appointment had been cancelled today and expressed a bit of frustration about not being notified, especially after taking a day off from work to meet with the sales representative. As a consumer I felt pretty helpless about this situation since I had no way to contact my sales representative and the Empire person on the phone could not explain when (or if) anyone would ever come to my home. The call ended with me being told I would not have an appointment with anyone from Empire Today, today.

I am extremely dissatisfied and disappointed with the way I was treated by Empire Today. Even though I received an e-mail stating I have an appointment from Empire, there is an apparent lack of internal communication and accountability which was evidenced by the cancellation of my sales meeting without any contact with me beforehand. I'll certainly think differently about the Empire brand whenever I see the commercials on television now and I plan to share this story with the folks in my community, friends, and family. I'd like to consider giving Empire Today another chance because of all the positive reviews but I never found out exactly why no one came to meet with me in the first place. For now it's pretty clear that Empire doesn't need our business in the DC/MD/VA area so we'll have to consider other options.

We had carpet installed in our home back in 2010 from Empire Today and my most recent business with them is the 500 square-foot tile floor. There was a lot of errors during the first installation so they had to reinstall it. After that, some things got better, but now we have additional things surfacing. I've been working with them on and off for about a month and a half. They kept saying they'll keep reinstalling or fixing it until it's right but I feel that they should have gotten it right after two full installations. We're pulling a bunch of documentation now so we can move forward with them with what we want.

When we called them, it was for a carpet and we had no intention of tiling. We talked with the salesman about our home and what we wanted to do. Then he mentioned that what if he can get it to our price range, to which I told him that I'd definitely entertain it. If the tiles were installed properly, it would be very beautiful to our home. We had laminate prior to that and have always wanted a tiled floor for durability and strength.

The installer was very nice and pleasant when he was here. However, he told us that this was the first time ever he had tiled with a 6x24 tile and really did not know what he was doing, which was very surprising to us because after we had several installation issues in the beginning, Empire Today had told us that they were sending out their number one installation guy.

We purchased a carpet and tile at the same time. At that point in time, we paid for everything all up front at the sale on our credit card. When the original tile was scheduled to be installed, they came out and it was a 500-square foot job. It was a kitchen, bathroom, hallway foyer and then entryways. It was entire downstairs living space which is a very large area.

When the sales guy was out, we let him remove a plank to look at the floorboard. So, he knew there was no cement sheet under and that it was wooden flooring. He said they used a product called Ditra that they put down which is like a barrier. Then, the original installer came out and tore up all the laminate flooring. He made some comments that our sub-flooring was not correct and that he couldn't install the floor because there may be some floor joist issues. The installation manager then called me and was very apologetic but there was nothing they could point in time. We had to have the floor joist issue fixed. So, all in a day, we had a contractor come out and look at the floor joist. He said that there was nothing wrong, no cracks, and what the original installer felt was normal floor bounce because we have a standard plywood sub-floor down. The contractor said Dura-Rock was normally put down underneath the tile.

I called back the installation manager and told him what we'd found. He then said that there's another issue. It would create too much of a leveling issue at the six entrance ways that come in the different areas. I said at that point that we'd probably have to look at another product. He said that if we could get the sales guy back out that same day, they would be able to install an alternate product like LVP the next day. We let the sales guy come into the house again at 10:00 at night and he sold us an LVP to be installed the next day as per our contract.

Next day came around and no one showed up at 10:00 so I called and left the installation manager a message. He called back at about 2:00 and told me that he hadn't gotten it ordered until just a few moments ago. So, it couldn't get installed that day like it was supposed to but he made arrangements for Wednesday. Then he called me back later that day on Tuesday and said he was sending a new installer that was supposed to be his top guy.

The new installer came out and brought the vinyl with him. The tile the original guy brought in was still at our house and said he was gonna put down the Dura-Rock which we were happy with. But Brian, the original installer, had told us that he was giving us a big perk for our disadvantages by doing the Dura-Rock installation and that it was purchased for free. The new installer then told us that Ditra is four times as expensive as the Dura-Rock. I wasn't very happy with having it relayed to me that way because it made me feel stupid, like, I was getting something and really wasn't though it's sales strategy which I understand.

But he came out and got it done in about three days. Then when we had a general contractor come in as we had a big flooding issue in our upstairs bathroom, he said that the floor is very uneven but beautiful. I told him we just had it done and he said that they were wondering why it's very uneven. Then we noticed grout started to crumble and crack not just in one area but throughout the job. Then we found a couple of areas throughout which were never even grouted. It was like two tiles together. So we took a bunch of pictures and sent them to Andrea over at customer service. They replied and said to mark the tiles. Then the installer came out and fixed the 37 tiles with issues. Then as a couple more days went on, the total ended up being 92 plus 37.

We told Andrea that at that point in time we thought it needed to be redone. They agreed and the same installer came back out and tore the old tiles out of the floor. What that did is the Dura-Rock below it got pulled apart. They had to take the thin set mortar and had to re-level the floor because now the Dura-Rock was all crumbled from pulling the tiles up. When they did that, it worked better.

But there's still areas where it's severely uneven. When the installer had to put the extra layers over the Dura-Rock to level it, this increased the height of the floor. So, now we have very bad transition issues from room to room, in four of our six entrance ways. We had to use the ugly transitioners to move in. Even in our laundry room, he couldn't even put a transitioner in because it's so high of a difference now.

I have a lot of concern because the original installer that came out said he wouldn't do it because he didn't feel our sub-floor was correct. Then the second guy that they sent out said that he can do it, which if he can do, then I just expected it to be done correctly. We were ready. We had already signed the purchase order for the LVP. We said we won't do the tile because the goal for it was whatever that was down there to be done and to be done right.

The carpet we installed in 2010 was absolutely phenomenal. I absolutely loved it. Empire Today tried to make us happy because they know we really wanted tile but sending an installer that's never done it before on a 500-square foot job wasn't the right thing. When he came back to re-install, he told us that he's never done it before though he's phenomenally nice and I really like him as a person. Now we'll keep an eye on everything and document it. Our biggest thing now is the total job for this was right around the $8,000 mark. Another thing that got me was right after the initial install which didn't go well, we got this call out of the blue from a collection person saying that we owed $3,000 or $4,037. The person was not very nice to me.

I told her our floor was not even installed yet. She said we signed a contract saying we would pay for it upfront. I told her that we did. What had happened was they credited us when it went to an LVP order. I told Andrea that time that after the bad installation, I hope they'd understand that I would not be paying the balance until it was done. They had half and we'd pay the other half when it's done to specifications. She was fine with that, but then it couldn't have been two minutes past and the collection person called me again.

I told them that I was a previous customer of the company. My carpet then was paid for up front and that I am 100% happy with that but I needed to make sure that our floor was right before I pay the balance. I also said that they can call me every day but I'm gonna give them the same response. That's where we're at. I had left Andrea a voice message and know she was out of the office the day before yesterday but she was very good about calling back. We'll go from there and see what happens. Everything was perfect with the two installations we've done except for this recent one with Empire Today.

I had Empire Today do the carpeting in my basement two years ago but I had a water leak and it was destroyed. So I had them install a new one, and I like that it is soft and sturdy at the same time. However, the installation process was a bit difficult because the first time around, the person who came to install the carpet had not been given the correct amount of carpet. What happened was they went back on their own because they did not have enough carpet and the particular one that I chose first was not available. Then they had to come back again to get another one.

If somebody's done a measurement for installation, I would expect Empire to put in the right amount of carpet. Then apparently, it had not been cut in the correct way for the installer, because the installers are independent people who just go pick up whatever is given to them from some warehouse. I think it is better if they have a better handle on what the order is. I stayed home from work, then some guy come says, "I cannot install your carpet," and goes away. Now I have to reschedule again to have somebody else come in. The second time around, they came in, then everything went very smooth. Overall, I am happy with my experience with Empire Today.

However, I wish they had told me that it would be so messy. It was very bad. But I love them because they did a good job. They are good people, and I would recommend them.

When I got online and looked, they were having a sale so I called them. I liked the salesman who came out to my home and showed me the samples really well. And the service was great, too. I love the carpet. I haven't had it long enough to know if it's easy to clean but I like the thickness of it and the design on it which is a mingled beige and brown. We ordered flooring to be installed on Thursday 9/29 and the installers told us our floor was not level enough for the product. We then ordered new product that would work with our floor. The installers were supposed to return on Friday 9/30 but there was a no call/no show. When I called they stated they were at another job and would not make it. We then rescheduled for Tuesday 10/4 but again no call / no show. When I called this time I was told our appointment was changed to 10/30 which is a Sunday and makes no sense. I had to take off work twice to wait for the flooring to be put in and if we do decide to stay with Empire we will have cement flooring until completed. Very displeased with the lack of communication. My wife and I came to the conclusion that by pushing the dates back enough, Empire is hoping we will cancel but actually we just want our flooring done as we were told numerous times.

Firstly, reviews of products or services are incredibly influential when it comes to choosing a supplier/company. When my wife and I reviewed this company, we were amazed at the many great reviews to be said by the overall company as a whole. Not to mention the longevity and expertise this company emits on their website, one would believe they have it all together. However, that is a false statement at best.

Our sales rep Amanda came out within a weeks time and gave us option after option that fit best for our family. We currently have a newborn that is in the beginning stages of crawling and wanted carpet put in to accommodate this transition. Once we found the perfect line of carpet as well as some new vinyl flooring for our bathroom, Amanda gave us the price and had the sell - could not have asked for a more smoother transaction than that morning. Then everything went downhill from there. Empire Today emailed me with the confirmation of the date they would be out to install everything, which for sake of explanation was a 2 week turn on the product. Fairly quick for a new install, so we were pleased with that date.

The day before the install took place I receive a call from the service center at Empire Today stating that they had one individual that was qualified to do both installs for the vinyl and carpet. They went on to say that this particular individual had been overbooked and that we would have to re-schedule. Mind you, we have a newborn, so scheduling is everything now and we had planned our entire weekend on this service. Disappointed, yet in understanding, I respectively re-scheduled for the following week and was assured that two teams would be present now since that one individual gets overbooked so frequently. Another week rolls around and I get an email confirmation the day before install again stating the day of install would be that week. I even got a call to confirm that this would happen and was assured via phone that two teams would come and install my carpet and vinyl flooring.

The morning of install comes and at 8:17 a.m. I get a call from the service center stating that the vinyl flooring team would be at my location later that day, but that we would have to reschedule the carpet - as there was no one available to install. SERIOUSLY!!! After you have already assured my family this service, you rescheduled us once, but then try to reschedule a SECOND time the following week??! That is absurd and highly unprofessional!! Needless to say, we completely cancelled this service and walked away from this company for good. I encourage the reader to think twice before committing to this company as a solution for your flooring needs.

When the salesman came out I told him I wanted furniture, demolition and installation. He looked around and said since I have heavy furniture and the tile we had would be hard to remove he would have to charge more. I agreed but didn't get an itemize quote - just a total price. When the demo crew came out they found we had asbestos, not Empire's fault. So we had a moving company move the furniture out and an asbestos company remove the flooring, so all the installers needed to do was install the flooring. When I talked to my salesman he said he will look into it. He came back with a discount they would give me. In talking to the tech that removed just the flooring it took 4 man days.

I went back to my salesman and basically said you have paid call the 800 number. I called and each time I talk to a tech they told me someone would get back with me within 48 hours. They didn't. I did get calls from Empire for other reasons. I was told by the person they would take personal charge of it and get back with me within 48 hours - it never happened. I finally got a person that did follow up and told me Empire has no idea of what everything cost because they sell by the square feet so the best they could do is give me another $250 and basically don't call again. Bottom line I got charged for service that they did not provide. I have worked with Accounting long enough to know that know to the penny how much every costs.

I liked that he listened to what I wanted rather than tried to just pitch me on anything. But I disliked that when I came home after it had been installed, the installers had left my door off the hinges and left some tools in the house. It looks like they were coming back later to finish. I called and told that to the customer service line. The guys came back for their tools and they were apologetic. It’s easy and quick and the prices are reasonable. The carpeting from Empire Today that we had put in the basement was fine but the flooring they put in the kitchen was not the proper one. It started pulling up and peeling apart and we kept calling them to come fix it. It got to the point where it had to have the asbestos test done for the Clean Air act, which was weird as we had already had them in there to do the work. They ripped and rolled it up and threw it out the door in three minutes, so I could tell the flooring wasn't even properly put down. Then they came and did the new flooring which we were really happy with.

However, Danielle, the rep that works there, was not very friendly. They still charged us a $1,000 for the original which was horrible because it was not up to par at all. I disputed the charge before because the flooring wasn't done properly and Wells Fargo credited my account. However, the money was taken back because Danielle said that the flooring was put down properly. But even the men that came and took it off said that it wasn't put down properly and I can't use that flooring in the house. I feel like it was a highway robbery. She also said I had to pay $1,500 more but it's linoleum flooring that looks like hardwood which isn't worth that amount. Even more so, she wouldn't let me talk to a supervisor. My only recourse is to call Wells Fargo and tell them I won't pay that as the initial flooring didn't work out at all.

I used Empire Today in New Jersey and had a wonderful experience, I can't say the same in Georgia. I had carpet installed with waterproof padding underneath. They stapled this to my hardwood floors, which I want to preserve for the future. They used 1/2 inch staples in my 3/4 inch solid oak hardwood floors, I don't see how my floors are not ruined now. Empire Today said my floors are fine. The installers did not tape over the seams in the padding. The reasoning was because the seams were so close together they didn't need to.

I talked to a few carpet installers and did some research online, numerous sites, which said for waterproof padding glue it to the floor and use waterproof tape over the seams especially near the wall, because if any water gets under the padding it doesn't dry and causes mold. The water also can't be soaked up with a shampooer due to the coating on it. The worst thing you can do is to staple the padding creating tons of tiny holes for water to find even with tape over it!

After over a week of calling 3-5 times a day and being transferred to associates that promise to call back with a solution and never did, I finally talked to someone who was willing to help, she told me they would tape over the seams, but gluing it down would cost extra. I'm already paying a lot of money for a job done wrong! I asked her, "If the floors get mold, is Empire Today responsible?" She told me, "No." I said her I am bringing this to your attention, I don't see how that is my problem. I have a son with asthma, he doesn't need anymore breathing problems. I want the job done 100% correct or I want money back!

After sending my email to the President and BBB this was my next email.

Thank you for your assistance. **, the installer, was a nice representative of Empire. His customer service skills, professional knowledge of his work and smile is what I needed to calm down. He truly seemed like he wanted to please the customer. He wanted to satisfy me. He drove from home when he received the call to resolve my issue. However, without an assistant, the quality of work may potentially be sub par. He may need to replace more boards if he did not have another installer to assist. And I can not help him move the two sofas if need be.

** took photos of the chip in case anyone needs to see the defect. It was hard to see unless the light reflects on it just right and that also depends on where you stand in the room. From one side of the room, the defect looks visible... not from the other side. Thank you for sending **. Hopefully, we can resolve this issue on our next scheduled day, October 15th, with two installers. I appreciate the effort in resolving my customer complaint.

    Original Review: Oct. 1, 2016

Laminate flooring put in early Spring 2016. Need one floor board replaced due to a faulty installation. It is chipped and could with time rip off the board leaving me with a poor appearance on the floor. When I called to discuss this issue it was hard to connect with each other. Finally, in August, a reviewer came to look at the floor/board. I had put an "X" on the spot with tape because the chip is hard to pick out unless you are able to capture it in your vision.

Well, the reviewer took photos. Said it was pet scratches and would do me a favor and repair for an extra $500. I said, "What? Did you see the taped "X"? The rest is dust!" The "X" was photographed yet the tape was NEVER removed to see the chip underneath. I had my 96 year old mother at the house to let the rep in and review the issue. She thought it was odd that he/she never lifted the tape. However, did not say anything.

Finally, agreed to replace the wood laminate board as part of my warranty and scheduled a Saturday so that I could be there. 1st time scheduled, Sept 10th. I called customer service the day before to ensure I was scheduled for a repair. I was told that I was and that I would hear the ETA first thing in the morning. That morning at approximately 9:00am, I received a call to hear that Empire did not have the applicable materials, and therefore, will not be showing up that day. When I talked to the local office, I was informed that he was not sure "WHY the materials were not in because this is common materials used by Empire". Please note, that this appointment was scheduled weeks before.

Ok, we schedule for October 1st. I canceled two other engagements to ensure I was home for Empire that day so that I could resolve this situation. WHAT IF I HAD TAKEN OFF OF WORK FOR THIS APPOINTMENT? Today, October 1st, again I waste another Saturday! I am told by customer service that I am a priority and scheduled for October 1st and will receive an ETA that morning. Well, I wait and no estimated arrival phone call. I call the local office about 9:30am and have yet to receive a call back. I call customer service at 10am and I am told an installer will call right back.

At 11:45am, I call customer service and am told the installer called in that he broke down and can not come at all today! I said and when was someone going to notify me. When speaking to call center supervisor, Jasmine, her notes indicated that Diane **, contacted me. I called her at 10am. Furthermore, the notes indicate that someone called me about an hour later and indicated that someone called me to tell me that the installer will not show up. Well, why would I call customer service at 11:45 am to find out ETA if they did call? By the way, it is a cell phone and all calls are inventoried. Caught in a lie someone!

This is APPALLING, CUSTOMER SERVICE! AND THEY WANT ME TO WASTE ANOTHER DAY WAITING. REALLY? Saying all they can do is RESCHEDULE me? Why would I trust that Empire really wants to resolve a customer complaint after I am just left hanging two Saturdays already. How would I be compensated if I took off two days of work and for nothing!

I called Empire for their 50% off promo for their flooring. I was in a rush because I was running out of time to go to other places so I went with them. I take full responsibility for that. But I felt like I was ripped off. I’m not happy with the product and was shown samples of only the expensive ones. The salesman did not tell me anything about the product, and he brought out his three ugliest samples and said, “These are the three that you could get 50% off of." He said those were the top laminate products, He didn’t show me anything else, so I thought that was all they had. So I just picked one out of those booklets that he had. But when he was about to leave, I saw that he had a ton of other samples in his car.

Once the flooring got in, they smudged every time they were walked on so every single night, I have to wet the floors. It's very frustrating. The salesman was nice, but he only had been doing that for three months and I can't believe I got someone like him. But I saw as he was going through the sales presentation, and when I think back on it, this is not even the flooring that I really wanted. It’s really shiny and you just have to walk on it and it smudges. He didn’t tell me how to clean it, nothing. So I had to figure that out for myself. Also, I did a comparative shopping and found out that I ended up paying over $3,000 more with them than if I had gone with another establishment.

I was initially quoted a price of $20,000. I said, “You must be crazy.” Then he gets on the phone with someone and comes back and, “No, it’s $9,000.” I told him he can't just drop the price into half like that. I told him to tell me how much it was per square foot since he measured everything so they should be able to tell me how much the product was. But then he went through this process of choosing the three different floors which I liked best. So I picked them and I went, “This is number one, this is number two, this is number three.” Then, he puts one at $19,000 in change, another at $17,000, and the last one at $15,000. But before I knew those rates, he told me that he will call and get half off. I said, “Wait a minute. Let me do the $15,000 and get half off.” He then said, “Oh no, he won’t do that. He only did it because you chose this one.” I told him it didn't make sense to me.

And then during and after the installation, their reps mixed me up with someone else since they told me things they were gonna do or situations that need to be addressed but they weren't applicable to me. Somewhere, they don’t have their stuff together. I will write a letter to the President of the company and take it from there. There is no way I would use Empire again.

It was a minor squeak and sales person agreed that the installer will fix it. Installer heard the squeak and aligned to fix during installation and said they fix these minor issues anyways. Not sure how they removed the old carpet or installed the new, the squeaking noise increased multi-fold after the installation of the carpet!!!

I contacted the empire sales person, Empire customer service via phone / email and whatnot. Nobody bothered to return my call or contact me. I reached out to BBB, then someone contacted me after a month. We agreed to get empire inspect the carpet and set up an appointment. Nobody from Empire showed up for appointment!!!! I contacted them again, set up another appointment. NO ONE SHOWED UP AGAIN FOR THE APPOINTMENT!!! Contacted them third time... Set up third appointment.

This time installer showed up close to the end of the day, inspected the carpet and agreed upon excessive squeaking noises coming from floor and said he will get it fixed after submitting the report. Week went by, did not hear anything from them, I followed up via email... No reply for a week. Followed up again via e-mail... Got reply after 5 days stating there I a minor squeaking noise and nothing needs to be done!!! This is height of disappointment and frustration. I am now reporting the case to Attorney General... To our surprise, the installers told us they only received notification of the basement, only bringing the materials to cover that area. We called Empire to inquire about the supplies for the other rooms, which they kindly admitted fault and gave us a small discount for the shortage and we happily rescheduled the rest of the order to be completed two days later, 09/28/16. This is when the nightmare began.

I spent the entire day on that Wednesday talking to a combination of their customer service reps, Installation department coordinator, supervisors, and sales sales manager, trying to find out why the installers have not showed up for the scheduled installation. There was a severe confusion between the installation department and sales department regarding whether an installation was in fact scheduled for that day or not. All of the customer service reps, to include supervisors and a sales manager confirmed that there was in fact an installation scheduled for that day. Two installation department personnel to include a coordinator, stated that there was no installation scheduled for that day and that they needed to speak with management to clear this issue up.

I was placed on hold many times for very long periods in order to get some sort of clarification, and I was very patient in doing so. There were times when I was placed on hold so long that I had to call back and start over again. It got so bad that I actually had to start taking a log of names just so I can remember of who I spoke to and what was said. They kept on telling me that someone from sales would call me back, which never happened. I called one last time late in the afternoon to see why no one has attempted to call. At this point all hope was lost because it was too late to install on that day.

I finally was able to speak with someone that actually felt the anguish my wife and I were put through, and his name was Joe. He was a supervisor who opened up a ticket that included everything that transpired on 09/28. He even agreed that the compensation that he could authorize to provide was too low for the severity of our situation and recommended that I talk to management for a fair number. This was just for the compensation, without even getting an explanation from management for where the communication broke down, and to assure that a new install date was confirmed. This ticket was made 'high priority' and that it would be visible to management first thing in the morning Thursday 09/29, prompting an immediate call to myself from management.

Well, it is a little after 10 pm today 09/29 and I never received a call, not one. My wife, an Air Force vet who just started her job in nursing had to plead with her supervisor to get the day off for install as I was out of town and she was the only one available to be present. We don't know if Empire even cares about completing the job and honoring the order. We don't know if we'll be able to actually get a chance to speak to one of their 'managers' in order to sort this out. All hope and trust has been lost and we don't know where to turn. We don't know who will help us, so I hope this review will finally get someone's attention that will take complete ownership of this situation and arrive to a positive resolution for my family and I. Empire management please call me, we have not given up on you, don't give up on us.

I've seen Empire Today on TV and the radio ever since I was a kid. They have years of doing work so I got carpet and floor to the bathroom from them. The color of the flooring is my favorite and everything is real fantastic. They came when they said and there was no delays. They had what we ordered and they had enough carpet. That was not the case in what I had experienced years ago when I ordered from other people. I was 1000% happy with everything they did.

We’ve done enough renovation and we did consider other brands before we went with Empire Today. Their cost and quality were definitely better. We got in on a good sale which was very helpful, but the fact that they were moving furniture and doing the complete job more so than the others made us decide to go with them. They did a good job on the carpet which they installed in our 3 bedrooms. The representative was also very nice. He came to the house and was polite. It went well with him, too.

That was the only problem, but otherwise, the installers were very nice.

Empire was a little cheaper than other brands and I know the guy who came to the house. I got them to install carpeting because we're getting the house ready to sell. We didn’t go to an upper-end carpet so it did exactly what we needed it to do and it looks great. The installers were awesome, very polite, clean, neat, and did a little more than they thought they were gonna have to do even though that was part of it. There was a little area that they had to do a little extra work on but there were no complaints. They got it done and cleaned up well. I’d recommend them.

We met with their rep about two weeks before we moved in to our new house, before we closed, so the previous owners allowed us to come in and get the measurements done. And then, they did the quote and we were able to schedule the carpet installation. We closed on a Thursday and they were able to do the carpet on that Friday. The installers left everything really clean. They did a nice job and everything was really good.

Horrible experience!!! Two weeks after installation I noticed the edges of the flooring coming up and needed replacement. They claimed water damage... what water? Because I have a dog they tried to claim it was urine. Then I was told because it was behind the couch maybe a water bottle rolled under and leaked. They insisted so how do I disprove any of this? I had to pay $250 to have it replaced. It would have been more but I had a leftover box from the original installation.

When I bought my home, I contacted Empire to have new vinyl floors put in. I paid $7,000 for this. They sent crackhead installers, I had to call the main office every day to get them to come to work on my flooring. They'd arrive at three in the afternoon and stay til after 10. This was a nightmare. After they left, we discovered that they hadn't nailed down the trim, they had just laid it on the bottom of the walls to make it look like it was done. Same with the floor vents, they weren't screwed down. A couple months later, we discovered that the vinyl in the hallway hadn't been glued down. When I called and complained, they offered me a thirty-five dollar refund as compensation for this nightmare. I laughed at them, I couldn't help it. I am so angry and so burned by this company, I wish I could hire a lawyer and get some of my money back.

I was shopping for new carpeting for a house my parents bought. They live over 90 minutes away and are 87 and 84 respectively. My mom has Parkinsons and uses a walker. It's not easy for them to get here to get the house ready, so I'm doing it for them. I preface with this info as I told the same thing to the salesman... and you can read how things ended in #3. My issues:

    1. When I called I asked if they had availability within a certain price range, as I did some research. I understand the toll free number won't provide exact prices and of course it depends on selection, I just simply wanted to know if there were options within a range. They won't tell you. I knew I was getting set up for the hard in person sell, but being short on time and not wanting to go to various stores, I went for it anyway.

    2. They don't give you any contact info for the salesperson. I am a realtor and had a closing time get moved up today. I needed to contact the sales person to ask them if they would be there by 12:30 (had an 11-1 slot). I waited on hold for THIRTY SEVEN MINUTES. THIRTY SEVEN. If I had 37 minutes to waste, I would have went to a store. Mind you, they didn't even pick up in that time... thankfully the salesperson called me to say he was on his way, so I hung up with holding for "customer service."

    3. Salesman showed me stuff and gave me a price. It was slightly less than a price I got another place, but I just didn't like the color or fabric as much. I tried to call my mom to tell her the difference since after all, it is her house and her money. Maybe she'd just want to spend less. She was at doctor so couldn't talk. I explained to the salesperson Howard that I'd have to discuss the options with her and get back to him.

I started getting the "If you don't buy now then when you call back it will be a higher price" speech. I said fine, if I decide to go with you, call back in 2 days and it's a higher price, then I'll just go elsewhere. He proceeded to pressure me, telling me he shouldn't have to come back, how my mom should have been there, etc. I said I already explained to you that she is 84, lives 90 miles away and has trouble walking. I am doing it for them. He then referenced me being a realtor and how do I like it if I have to take people out again. I told him I don't pressure my customers into a house they don't want and go with them as many times as we need to to find the right house. In a perfect world would I love it if they bought first house? YES. But that is a rarity and I certainly don't try to bully them into it.

For another 5 minutes and several more times, he insisted how he shouldn't have to come back. I responded, you don't... everything is written down and measured so if I go ahead no need for you to come back. AGAIN, AGAIN and AGAIN he repeated how my mom should have been there. Well let's see, do I care about your inconvenience at 30 years old coming from 10 minutes away, OR MY 84 YEAR OLD MOM WITH PARKINSONS WHO LIVES 90 MINUTES away?

I finally said, "ENOUGH, I'm done with you, you're an **, please leave." Don't like that I called him a name, but he was so obnoxious at that point it just came out. Horrible Experience. Horrible. P.S. Oh and I think he tried to add on 30+ extra sq feet and gave me a questionable excuse when I questioned him on it. I ended up going to a local carpet store and got a better carpet, better warranty, less expensive and nylon not polyester.

We haven't cleaned it a whole lot because it's new, but it's fine. There were two things that I tried to deal with in getting the carpeting done. First was that we were in a hurry to get the carpet installed in one room in particular. They made an appointment to come in here right away. But the guy that was supposed to come for the appointment didn't show up and didn't call.

I called four times during the time of his expected arrival. At first, the call center couldn't reach him. So, we didn't even know if he was going to come that night. Actually, somebody had come out that night, specifically to meet with him, and had to stay overnight somewhere because he did not show up at the appointment. They had to reschedule and send somebody else, a woman, to do the sales appointment. The second was that there was a step that needed some repair. I tried to find out from the woman they sent if that was something that they could do and what would be involved in getting that done, but she didn't ever give or get me an answer, and that was problematic. So, I had to hire a separate handyman to come and repair the step, and I had to get him to hurry before Empire's installation people came.

We love our new flooring. The only flaw is a loud squeak by the front door when you step on a couple of boards when you come in or leave. Family members and friends have already commented on this. We really think this leaves a bad impression on the type of work done.

I had a pretty good meeting with the sales associate. Very convenient, a he came to my home, and had large samples provided to give a better idea of how it would go together with the rest of the room (wall and furniture color). However, the installation schedule and process was miserable. They rescheduled the first time, and gave us advanced notice, which was okay, just a little obnoxious. The second time however, we were called after our installation window, saying they would not make it until the following day. My wife ended up having to reschedule several appointments each day to be available during the inaccurate, and long windows of time.

I had carpet installed in our home by Empire Today. I chose them because they were having half off everything and they were willing to move my furniture because I can’t move it. The installation was terrible. They laid the rugs improperly. There’s a seam that goes all the way through my living room and dining room.

So I had to have Empire come out. One of their representatives took pictures of it, took it back to Empire, and said yes, “Your rugs shouldn’t be laid like that. We have to take up your whole dining room and living room again and re-lay them.” And then they said, “There is gonna be a charge to move your furniture.”

I told them they're not charging me to move my furniture. They’ve got to be kidding me. They did shoddy work and they want to charge me. It has just been one nightmare after another. Then I had to fight with them all day long until finally, they said, “Fine, but we’re not moving anything delicate like free-standing clocks or pianos.” It’s a pain in the neck because when I get rugs laid, I have to move all over again. I’ve got to take everything off of the tops of my tables. I’d never use Empire Today again.

First, Empire canceled/rescheduled the day before installation date. Which was unacceptable. Three rooms were prepped for installation. Walk in closets as well as rooms were unable to be used for the next 10 days due to the rescheduling. Which caused us much undue stress, frustration and inconvenience. The tile took an extra day but was understandable due to circumstances. The carpet was done in a timely manner but the installers broke a floor lamp and a hand tool went missing. We could have understood about the lamp if something was said. Nothing was. They also did not have me fill out the completed installation form. Only wanted me to sign it.

Lastly, just today we found out from Wells Fargo that our financing was set up all wrong. Not at all what we agreed to. When we purchased the flooring, we were led to believe Empire was a leader in the industry from a customer service and professional point of view. That certainly has not been the case in our instance. It has been our experience with Empire that they lack proper communication skills with the customer.

Installers showed up and had to have payment before they would start. We had a check written. But, the third party that verifies checks for Empire could not verify our check. We called bank and problem was not there. Finally just gave installers a credit card and they were able to start the job. Installers did not have enough product to complete the job. We had to make calls to Empire to ascertain when the needed product would be available and reschedule with the installers. Installers arrived and we noticed the dye lots did NOT match exactly. This was noticeable as one color was in hallway and another color was on the stairs connected to the hallway.

Installers worked quickly and were very willing to move furniture around, etc. Good clean up afterwards. I had asked for some screws to be put in flooring to alleviate some of the squeaky floor areas. Installer just put in some nails. Consequently, the squeaks are coming back after only a few days. I realize the odor from the new carpet and pad can be noticeable for a little while. But, installers left the doors propped open with A/C running constantly which allowed dozens of flies to enter the house.

Jeckyll: I was originally sold on Empire when their salesman performed a "whole house" measurement, for what would be both carpet throughout 1st and 2nd floors, and new vinyl in both the 1st floor kitchen/bathroom and upstairs bathroom. Vinyl to be done this fall, carpet to be done in the spring. We negotiated a price we were happy with. Then the problems started.

Hyde: The vinyl installers were scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 13th by 9 a.m. I took a day off from work to be home. 9 a.m. Tuesday comes and goes. No show. I got a call from the installation manager at 9:30 cancelling but promising to reschedule. So I'm out one day of work, but hey, they promise to schedule something ASAP. They call back later to say they'll DEFINITELY be there by 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept 14th. I take another day off (this time, on late notice). 9 a.m. Wednesday comes and goes. I get a call Wednesday at 9:15. They can't make it...and not only that, they can't make it that week. I'm now out two days of work. But they have good reviews, and the price seems OK, so I agree to find another time.

After two days of go-round, they promise to arrive Monday, Sept. 19 by 9 a.m. I take another day off for Monday. 9 a.m. Monday comes and goes...but hey, they finally arrive at 11:30. OK, at least they're installing Vinyl, right? They confirm "yeah, this downstairs kitchen/bathroom, and the upstairs bathroom, right?" I say "yep." I am then required to pay, in full, for the project. They run my card. The charge clears. They get to prepping both kitchen and 2nd floor bathroom for install (rip up quarter round, pull out putty and caulking along sides of tub, remove toilets, use staple-hammer to hold down the existing floor -- particularly in the 2nd floor bathroom.

Here's the worst part. About 2:30 p.m., after everything is ripped apart -- and AFTER I've already paid in full -- they tell me the 2nd floor somehow wasn't actually included in my order. They say they don't have the vinyl for it. They say "talked to the sales and installation managers". They were told it was never part of my order...Oh, but if I want, for an ADDITIONAL PRICE, they can have someone else come back and do the upstairs bathroom. Several calls with he installation manager over a few days and, lo and behold, the executives at Empire have said, in effect, "tough luck. Not in your order" (despite being part of the order at every step of the process until AFTER they were mid-project).

I can't begin to tell you how dissatisfied I am. Two cancellations. Two days of work lost. Then I'm told -- mid-installation and after paying in full -- that the upstairs bathroom was somehow mysteriously not part of a whole-home quote in which we specifically discussed vinyl downstairs and upstairs (hell, my wife talked with the sales guy about making sure the vinyl matched, and him agreeing it was important to do them at the same time). Now, here I am, two days after installation, with a torn-up upstairs bathroom, exposed staples all over the place, not caulking or quarter round...and no further response from Empire.

The salesman took his time showing and helping me decide what flooring to choose. He understood I had a budget but after he left I realized that the promotions I had read about had not been offered and was told that the flooring I had picked was not on sale and wasn't part of any promotion. When the installers arrived to start the flooring they couldn't start the vinyl plank because they found tile that they thought could have asbestos so they installed the carpet in the living room and bedroom. They did a good job of installing but damaged a light fixture when bringing the carpet through the kitchen instead of through the living room. I had the tile tested and it was found to not contain asbestos. I faxed the certificate on a Wednesday and made an appt to install the flooring on that Saturday which was confirmed.

On Saturday morning I received a call from Chicago to inform me that they still needed the certificate and would not be installing that day. After being without a floor for 2 weeks, I was a little hot. I finally reached someone later in the day and told him that they did indeed have the certificate. I was put on hold for like 5 minutes and when he came back told me that he did find the certificate and asked me when I would like the flooring installed. I responded TODAY!! Of course I was told that this was not possible and I scheduled it for Tuesday. I had actually made 2 appts that week that no one showed up for.

When the installers got there Tuesday I found them very hardworking and they went above and beyond my expectations. I was told contrary to what the salesman told me that Empire hires sub-contractors to install the flooring. While I was happy with the second pair of installers I will never hire Empire again. Their claim of the lowest prices is a joke.

The contractors who came to our home did an excellent job with the carpet install; they were very professional and efficient. However, I was very disappointed with the salesman - especially since he provided us with faulty information. Initially, we did not want to get our staircase carpeted, we wanted to just stain the hardwoods under the carpet. The salesman looked under our carpet on the stairs and informed us we did not have real hardwoods, just plywood. So we decided to re-carpet. The day of the carpet install, my husband quickly learned - that was not case - our stairs are most definitely made of real wood, not plywood. This was very disappointing, as the original vision and plan for my house did not include carpeted stairs - a look I am not happy with and did not want!

The other issue was with our bathroom. We originally were quoted a price without re-carpeting the bathroom, as we did not want carpet in that room. After deciding the price to insert hardwoods was too much at the time, we decided to stick with carpeting. The salesman said he would give us the carpet bathroom area for no added cost, as there would most likely be enough carpet in the order to cover the bathroom. However, that was not the case, he ended up charging us for the extra carpet and then on the day of the install, a bunch of extra carpet was left unused. We were planning to get all of our hardwoods replaced with Empire, but I am not sure I can trust what I am told by your representatives.

I had Laminate, Carpet, and Tile installed. This was supposed to occur over the course of 3 consecutive days, a week and a half prior to moving into the house.

The first problem was on Monday, August 15th. The tile installers never showed up. I called the corporate number, and they didn't have any record of a tile installation for me, just the Laminate. I went to the local Empire office and spoke with Jackie. She was aware of the issue, evidently, the estimator had written down a color that didn't exist in the brand of tile I chose. I showed her what tile color, and she said they didn't have anyone to install it that week, that it would be the following week.

The laminate guys came on Tuesday. They did a good job but almost ran out of laminate prior to finishing the job, so didn't have any extra to leave with me in the case of problems later. The installers would get a 5-star rating, but someone loading the absolute minimum materials would get a 2.

The carpet guys came on Wednesday, the day of my Father's funeral, so I wasn't here to supervise. I had other friends/workmen in the house, though.

The installers were one experienced guy, one novice. The Experienced guy was showing the novice how to lay padding - and did a VERY poor job of it. There are lumps under the carpet.

They also cut the carpet too short in some places, as well as "pulling" some chunks out at the edges. To salvage the job - so we could move in on time - I had my guys put quarter round down. On carpet.

They also left a bag of trash on my central heat and air unit - they had just thrown it out the window - as well as the carpet core on my front lawn. They left with no warning, without saying anything to the guys who were there. Carpet installers get a 1 star (or less!)

The tile was installed on Thursday and Friday, August 25-26, and we moved in on the 27th. They didn't seal the grout, either, I had to do it myself.

As a resolution for the Tile and Carpet issues, Empire refunded part of the cost for both jobs. I am satisfied. Not happy, exactly, because it was a lot of hassle at exactly the wrong time (with my father's death, I really didn't need to be dealing with anything else) but they did, in the end, make acceptable amends.

I am very disappointed in the service I got from Empire. I originally planned to have Empire install shutters in my new home but boy am I considering taking my business elsewhere! Empire installed my carpet in my previous home 5 years ago and I was very impressed with the quality, price and service. By contrast, when I made an appointment for an estimate last week for window treatments the representative never showed up and never called. I had to call them and ask why and they told me he forgot his samples so he didn't bother to show up!

I rescheduled and the second time was a no show again. When I called Empire they didn't have an explanation for the no show. In bad judgment I scheduled a third appointment. This time the representative showed up... and that's when the failure to meet expectations REALLY began. The representative came was more interested in boasting about his new home than he was in helping me. He didn't take measurements of my windows or bring any samples! He went on bragging about how great his new house was for about an hour and then said "You don't really want Empire to install your window treatments, we're too expensive." Then he proceeded to arbitrarily estimate the cost to be nearly $13,000 for 14 windows, and that's with a 50% discount! Needless to say, I declined the offer and told him I'd look elsewhere. Its obvious to say I will never use Empire for anything again.

They helped us out in moving the furniture that was in there and put stuff right back to where it was at. We walked around with them and looked at all the closets and space that they had done and everything was great. We were going to look into other brands but the sales pitch by Empire was too good to be put down. We were thinking about getting hardwood and the hardwood was a little too expensive for what we were thinking. The price tag on the carpet was perfect. We have three girls in one room and a 13-year-old boy in the other and the carpet has been holding up pretty well.

After 3 different inspections it was determined to be manufacture defect and would need full replacement. But after only month the flooring is no longer available and we need to select something else. We are being showed limited number of samples and told that we have to select one of them or pay more. After 3 inspections, 3 salesman and many calls from the sales office we only want our money back, which they are refusing as well. What good is a warranty if the product is no longer available after a month? The installers were here from 8:30 am to 10:45 pm. If the installers were good they should have notice the floor was not right. They left no extra planks. Maybe because they knew it was no good?

I placed a down payment of $1000 along with a signed contract for install (9/8/16) for flooring and baseboards at my business location scheduled for 9/14/2016. On 9/14 no show, no call. I call my salesperson who advises me that my contract had not been completed yet and that we would have everything processed by the end of the day and could reschedule the install. I get a call from the corporate office requesting additional information - which I provide. Later that day, I get confirmation from the sales rep that everything has been resolved and we schedule my install again for 9/19/16. My sales rep sends me text letting me know I should received a call between 7 am - 9 am with an eta as to when they will arrive at my business to begin the install.

Today, 9/19, it is almost 9 am and I call the corporate office to find out when is the anticipated eta to begin my scheduled install. I am told that there is nothing in the system regarding my install. I ask to speak to a manager and I am transferred to a Joel. Upon speaking with Joel, he was very nonchalant in his tone in speaking with me. I explained my issue and why I was upset that I have blocked my schedule out twice for this install and I am told today that my order still has a pending status because it hasn't been submitted into the system.

I asked Joel if there is anyway that he can contact who is responsible for this and ask them to push my order through the back end so that I can have my install scheduled and completed because I have other renovations going on and these floors must be done because it is keeping me from completing other renovation projects. Also, the fact that every time I schedule an install, I have to block out my schedule and thus prevents me from being able to service my clients; so I am available for the install.

Again, Joel was very nonchalant. Not willing to speak with anyone else. He claimed that my complaint had been submitted to the appropriate department and they would have to call me back. When I stated this wasn't good enough because this would mean that I would have a 3rd install scheduled and I need to have these floors and baseboards installed no later than the end of the week - that means that I need for someone to resolve this now. Joel kept repeating the same rhetoric and wasn't willing to help me as a customer who has not only been inconvenienced me twice; but has required that I block out my schedule twice for an install that never occurred - this in turn means I can't service any clients on those days.

Joel didn't seem to understand my frustration. There is no reason why we couldn't resolve this issue while I was on the phone. How hard is it contact a manager in the department that has my order pending in the system to ask them to push the order through and schedule my install for the 3rd time? I am so frustrated because he acted like there was nothing he could do - when I know for a fact, he could have went beyond just sitting on the phone and made an attempt to contact someone (even if it someone above him) to try to resolve this issue while I was on the phone. I asked if they could write notes in the system? He said yes. I asked him to write my grievances in the system so I don't have to continuously repeat myself for whenever this "supposed person" is to call me back and try to resolve this issue.

Oh, by the way - I have to wait 24 hours before I can get a response. Seriously??? I have to wait 24 hours for a return call from someone after the company has failed to completed my install, not once, but twice and I am still trying to get my floors installed so I can complete the remainder of my renovations and keep my opening date on time. It would have only taken a few minutes to resolve this, but Joel didn't attempt to do anything outside of tell me no and wait for a phone call, when Empire created this problem to begin with. I need this resolved ASAP and deserve a discount on the price I was quoted for my installation of floors and baseboards. Especially since I have not only paid a substantial deposit, but also blocked my schedule twice where I am unable to service clients for this install.

Decided on Empire Today to replace the vinyl flooring on three rooms because they are supposed to be able to do it quickly. Signed the contract on 8/23, soonest they could schedule the job was 9/2 which was disappointing but I said OK. Got a call from Empire Today on 9/1 at 9:19 pm saying they would call the next day between 7:30-9:00 a.m. with a time slot so I could be at the site. No call while I am waiting at the job site by 10 am. Call them, they say I have been canceled because of staff shortages. Why did they not notify me? They claim I was notified the previous evening which is the opposite of what happened! I end up rescheduling for 9/7 which the soonest time slot they can give me.

I call them 9/6 at 8:33 p. m to make sure we are on schedule for the next day, after a slight delay they notify me that I have been canceled again, would I like to reschedule for about a week later. I decide that two cancellations with absolutely no notifications on their part that I have been canceled is enough. I decide to cancel the job. Be aware that they have a pretty stringent cancellation policy, I was nervous that I would not get my deposit back since you have to either take something into their office in Chicago within three days of signing the contract or mail it to arrive within the same three days or send them a telegram!

Not sure that telegrams are timely anymore so if you do not live near Chicago your only real choice is to decide the very next day to send them a next day mail notice that you would like to cancel. I would be very careful signing a contract with this company in the future. Do not count on getting quick service like they advertise. If you are in a critical hurry for service check out other companies. Since this website seems to be linked to Empire Today I wonder if they will allow this to be posted?

One of my neighbors told me about Empire today and I liked what was done over there so I called them and had them install linoleum in my kitchen and laundry room. The installer did a wonderful job with the way he put down the floor going from the kitchen to the dining room. However, in retrospect, he should've done certain things differently.

For example, in my kitchen, I would've preferred to have a brownish color on the extra little piece down the baseboards which he did all in white. He did a nice job putting it up, but I don't think it should've been white. And underneath the cabinets where I can't see it, he put it in brown and I liked that a lot better than the white stuff because if you're going around there with your shoes and you kick it, you'd get a mark on it. I have also noticed that I will get marks when I just stand there and by accident step on it or come too close to it. Also, he didn't put up the doors in my laundry room correctly and just left. Now the doors are open, I'm not able to open or close them and they came off the tracks. So that wasn't very nice and it's that part I didn't like. I talked to him afterwards but he said he was already so far away.

I had done the carpet from Empire Today for my living room and dining room before, and I was satisfied. So I had carpet installed by them in my sewing room as well. I told their rep that we have to go with a budget and he was very good about it. However, he told me that I would be able to reuse my sewing chair on wheels but I cannot move my chair at all on that carpeting. It doesn’t roll on it. I've got four machines that I work off of at one time. So I've got my sewing room designed where I can sew, turn around and do something on the other machine and I can't do it on this.

That’s the only part that I'm really disappointed with. There's nothing I can do about it now but suffer. I wish I went with just regular floors instead of carpeting. And the rep told me that those floors are cold but I said I'm used to it because I'm an old farm girl and they can't be that cold because I've got a bare floor in the kitchen and I don’t complain that floors are cold. And so he talked me into that. The guys that were for the first and second carpeting were very good, polite, clean, fun to work with and fun to talk to.

Our experience with Empire started off pleasant with our sales representative, but is now a headache with installation and installers. We are contracted to have our sec master bedroom suite, loft and hallway installed with hardwood flooring and have been trying to get this done for 2 1/2 weeks now. We took off three days from work with no installation done. First day installers came, could not lay floor due to some unevenness and would need to spread cement glue, did not have any with them. Installers arrive 2nd day, applied cement glue, spatter some of the cement on new furniture. They were messy and careless. Used a bucket of ours without asking. Said it would take 8-16 hours to dry.

Arrive 3rd day, cement still not dry. Asked if they could start installing floors in other areas of the upstairs. We were told no. 4th day, Saturday morning, repeat of Friday, including can't apply hardwood floors in loft area. Day, installers came again and said the cement glue that was laid is still not dry enough. Called sales representative. We informed our sales rep that we did not want the same crew coming back and they had to reschedule for a Saturday when we don't have to take off from work. Sales rep got a new crew - very nice, professional and courteous. Will be back the next Saturday to complete install.

Received a call from Empire service dept to confirm install for Monday. I became very upset and let them know the installers are suppose to be here tomorrow Saturday, instead of Monday and that we were already inconvenience by taking off two days of work, and they must come on Monday. My husband contacted our sales rep again to assure us the second set of installers would definitely be at our home tomorrow Saturday to complete the install. Well, let's see what happens. Also, to let you know, Empire does not do the installers. They outsource for installation. This is why in many cases the installers are no professional and don't give a **.

This has been a total nightmare, so if it even happens, I am very leery of the type of service I will receive at installation. To do this to someone with a perfect credit history is devastating. I am SO sorry that I ever placed an order with EMPIRE!!!

I have an acquaintance in Empire so I contacted him. We had two thick wood floors put in our home by them. Their sales rep was excellent, helpful, extremely pleasant, on time, professional and gave me a lot of different options that I was interested in looking at. The installation team knew what they were doing. They came in and immediately got down to work. It was messy with dust everywhere but they did a good job of cleaning up. However, there was a part that did not come in on time but the installer came back on a Sunday and put it in at our convenience, which really worked out very well for us. We were having our furniture moved in the next day and we needed to have the floor done. I was pleased with the outcome and that the price was appropriate. But we keep on finding a little bit of glue on some places that we just have to clean up.

We recently had Empire Today install carpets in our rental home. I had it all set up with Lowe’s first but they phased out at the last minute and couldn’t be ordered. We’re having troubles getting it measured and Lowe’s used a third-party and something went wrong with them. I needed it as soon as possible. I knew Empire could get it done quickly, so we used them instead. They came close to Lowe's cost. It was more than it would have been through Lowe’s but it wasn’t outrageous. I liked the sales guy and the gentleman that came in and did the installation work. He was really good. He handled himself well, called me beforehand, and then, he got there early and did the job quickly. We were doing some work in the house at the same time, and he was really understanding and cooperative.

I had tile installed in two bathrooms. The installers neither one could speak a word of English... big problem! Next is the fact that they did not reinstall toilets correctly which has caused extensive water damage to my finished basement ceiling, drywall and carpet... probably to new subfloor in bathroom too!!! I have paid a plumber big money to come out after hours on a weekend to fix their mistakes and now need repairs to ceiling, walls and flooring. DO NOT USE THESE IDIOTS!!! Rest assured they are going to regret this as I will not stop until they pay for all of the costs incurred due to their crappy work and the installers will not be doing this to anyone else as I will see to it they are fired!!!

I had Empire install carpet at my home. We're happy with the product and the installation was good. They did the installation quickly. However, the salesperson and the installers are third party. So the company is in between and there maybe some communication gap in between and they need to improve on that. But overall, everything turned out okay. They were able to work things out and that’s what gives them credit, that things keep happening but at the same time they have what it takes to kind of make it go.

I deal with Home Depot a lot but I chose Empire because I saw the commercial. They were having a 50% sale. The only thing I didn’t like about Empire is that I don’t think my bill would have been $4,000. I felt like their ad was misleading because it really wasn’t a 50% deal. I probably could have beat that price at Home Depot but I didn’t do that. After all that, I still like Empire since the carpet has met my expectations. They were good and everybody was nice. I would use them again because I know now to not put too much attention that it’s not 50% off and that I would have to go and get more estimates instead of just them.

The installers were wonderfully sweet with her and they all chatted in Spanish which was another bonus. They were skilled and respectful. My mom and I are both very happy with the carpet and the service. Thanks!

Do not use Empire Today. We have been trying to file a warranty claim for repetitive stains showing through the carpet, we bought a 20 year stainmaster warranty carpet 5 years ago and have had this issue for about 3 years having had our carpets cleaned professionally several times. At first the 800# reps were nice and expedited process and stalled with the local branch in Orlando FL, and a man named Bob. He tells us carpet is going to stain just like upholstery and concrete but he would be more than happy to sell us new flooring! I am beyond pissed off about this msg I have on my answering machine. I can guarantee that I or anyone I know will never ever buy from Empire Today carpet. $3000.00 in carpet and close to $1000.00 in professional cleanings. Be advised the carpet installed isn't what they sell you.

Said they would be back next morning between 8 & 9. I finally called customer service at 9:30 to find out where they were & they said not scheduled for today but would be here between 1 & 3. You would think that if they have not completed a job that they would schedule appointment first thing next morning to complete job. It is now after 4 p.m. & still no show. I am very frustrated & disappointed with Empire Today. They should change their name to Empire Whenever we feel like showing up!!!

Please, please, please do not use this company!!! Especially in the Rhode Island area. I have had a nightmare experience with them for the last two months. The company sends you a salesman that wheels and deals you a product. Then they contract out companies to do the work. The companies come in unmarked cars and the language barrier is absolutely horrendous. They show up at least an hour late every time and never have the right product. They did not carpet the stair in my living room even though it was in the contract with the salesman. Then customer service blamed it on my husband because he signed off on the job. I was supposed to be there but they showed up 3 hours late and never called.

They came back and fixed the carpet but forgot to put my baseboards in. They made another appointment for me to get the baseboards in and never showed up!!! My husband of course took the day off and they didn't even call us to tell us they weren't coming. They had to come to the house 4 times!!! The job is messy and does not look good! I have at least spent 20 hours trying to fix all the problems. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. I have never in my life yelled at someone on the phone, and I have yelled at them every time I have called. We spent $2800 and when I spend that much money I expect a good experience but they completely ruined my summer. They are so awful! Please Stay away!

I was very displeased with the service, the salesman (creepy/shystee) (Doug out of Toledo) was rather disrespectful and rude. Didn't bother to address or correct my concerns/issues, was only trying to make a sale for a not so great company. A company with no values, morals, or respect for a customer, I can and will not patronize.

We purchased wood flooring and carpeting from Empire for my home. The installers were fantastic. They brought the wrong carpet, but that wasn’t their fault and they brought the correct one the following day. There were two different crews, so they did the carpeting one day and then a few days later a different crew did the floor. They did a great job. I couldn’t believe they got it done in a day and a half, so I was very very happy with them. They do everything and get things done quicker than anyone else would have gotten it done. The overall quality of the product was also very good. The cost of the flooring was a little high, but the floor is beautiful and we love it. We've already recommended a neighbor to the gentleman who came and showed us the products.

We are in our 60s, no children. However, prior to buying carpet from Empire, the carpet we had while raising our children and pets lasted over 14 years. But, it was burgundy and I wanted neutral and thick for comfort. Decided since everyone was grown and gone, it was time to purchase some nice neutral carpet and laminate floors. My plan was cream color shag in all of the house but 2 bedrooms and kitchen. The kitchen I wanted laminate. The other 2 bedrooms we decided to leave alone (which I'm glad we did because you can compare the over 14 yr old carpet to the junk Empire installed). It was a total nightmare!

I had just lost my Dad and feel like they walked all over me. The salesman talked me into a grey color nylon short shag which I hate! And instead of laminate in the kitchen indoor/outdoor carpet, which I hate. It ALL is falling apart and matted. Matted in rooms that we hardly ever go into. They stripped out my linoleum in my kitchen with a "hatchet" and chopped places on our wall. I did NOT want to get rid of the linoleum. They did NOT speak English so there was a barrier.

Things were torn up while they were moving my furniture. I went in while they were installing the carpet in my "large" bathroom with scrap pieces. I had a fit and said I paid for carpet not scraps. He said that was just the way they did it. It took several weeks for them to install, plus when they moved my NEW refrigerator back in place they busted the shut-off valve and had to go back and tear that carpet. I had to hire a carpenter to replace the soaked wood flooring under it. The 2 year old carpet is matted and I have taken VERY good care of it since install.

Did I turn this in? Did I talk to customer service? Several times!!! They would transfer me from one person to the other until I was exhausted and gave up. This makes me sick and I finally decided that I hope this helps someone before they decide to use this company. The carpet is cheap, this is NOT what I wanted, I'm still paying for matted carpet that I'm embarrassed to show anyone. Their Sales still call me trying to sell MORE. Are you kidding me??? And in my 60s, I won't have what I dreamed of for my later years. By the way, I have ALWAYS made my payments and kept my end of the deal. They didn't!!!
