We were very pleased with our salesman Melvin **, the installation team and the price of our new carpet. The install team arrived on-time, and cleaned up prior to leaving. We will definitely consider using this team again & referring others. Thanks Empire!

While the installer did good work Empire should have at least one who speaks and understands English. As far as clean up goes it was less than average bordering on lousy. I found debris everywhere and white splash marks on doors and items in my garage. I had to stretch to give them a three star rating.

I recommended Empire Today to all my friends. They did an excellent job. I had them do my carpeting in the living room, dining room, bedroom and hallway. They also did the vinyl floor in the kitchen and bathroom. I had two other estimates, but Empire’s price was more reasonable. I also liked the variation of colors and patterns they had in picking out for carpeting and vinyl flooring. These are the reasons why I went with them.

Empire’s reps were also wonderful and very good. They listened to what I said. They really took time and talked to me and we went through everything. They were helpful when I asked them to do something. I have no complaints at all. The vinyl man was unbelievable too. He and the carpet people were artists. They did a beautiful job. The quality of the carpeting is fine as well. I got Berber carpeting in French Vanilla color and that lasts until God knows when. I had a good experience with Empire Today and I would use them again.

Had a vinyl installation scheduled for 4/29 between 8am and 6pm. Contractor showed up and left at 7:30 am - so I was rescheduled to the following week 5/6. On 5/6, I was contacted and told no one would be coming because they didn't have the required materials or anything similar despite having an extra week to plan for my appointment... Rescheduled again to 5/13 - at this point I will have moved into my house, and will be living with exposed subfloor in multiple areas and a detached toilet. The worst part about all this is I was told that the best they could do is take off a measly $50 from the original quote. If this outrageous situation is not rectified, I'm pulling my contract and telling everyone I know never to use this company.

I like that it looks like tile but it isn’t (it even has grout). It looks really good and I like the pattern more and more each day.

We have been scheduled 2x for a Vinyl Floor installation. We have gotten calls the morning of at 7:00 AM on Wed. 5/3/17, and then at 6:00 AM on Sat. 5/6/17. They said they don't know when materials are coming in. I am sitting here on a Monday afternoon with our house pulled apart, and have no idea when we should expect an installation. Even though CS has been friendly, there are no results and a surprising lack of empathy or care. Horrible experience so far, ready to pull the plug on them.

Updated on 05/12/2017: Awful experience. We canceled and had our flooring installed a day later. Run the other way. Save yourself time, money, and lots of aggravation. Steer clear of Empire!!! You will be glad you did...

We paid upfront 100% for our flooring. They rushed through the job splattering grey goop all over our kitchen cabinets that won't come off, grey goop on the new baseboards, handrails to on our stairs. Glue is on our bedroom carpet. We cannot get out. It's now grey and stained. The walls are scratched and damaged from the flooring and where they brought the floor in through our upstairs bedroom they stood on my bench out front and scraped the paint off the bench. They couldn't get the screen back on the window. They brought the flooring in through so they screwed it back onto the house. The thresholds that were installed all popped up after only a few days and we had to get someone else to come in and properly install the thresholds. Now they have several nail holes in them from being installed twice.

Our final install was of the carpet, they didn't bring the baseboards and I was told they would come the next day to finish. No call, no show for the second day. I waited all day until I called the sales guy who we purchased from about 2pm. He said no one would be coming back that day. We were then told a crew would be out Monday. One guy came alone. He had to shove and move all our furniture back himself. When he reconnected our washer he switched the hot cold line, so an entire load of laundry is shrunk from that too. The list goes on and on with their mess and water bottles and trash left on the street and curb. I would never recommend this company to anyone for their services.

DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY. I wish there was a way to leave no stars!!! They will take your money, not do the job, and continually lie to you. They have the worst customer service and clearly do not give a damn about their customers. We started out with an estimate from Ivan ** on 4/2/2017. He gave us the price and we set the install date for TODAY. On 4/2/2017 we gave him a deposit (half price of the job) and he immediately scanned it to their account. Today my husband called him to find out what time the installers were coming. He immediately told my husband he would call him back but never did... even though we left him 4 voicemails afterward.

We called the 800 number dozens of times to get the installers, etc. We spoke with Alex, Cervantes, and Angelique (who was the rudest of all). THEY ALL seemed to struggled to find our account and our information. Alex and Cervantes both told us the installers would call us in 24 hrs and/or were on their way, before they hung up on us. We could tell they had no clue who we were or what we were even talking about.

Finally we spoke to Angelique who was truly annoyed that we were upset and waiting. Finally after placing us on hold half a dozen times, she told us that our order was not in the system. We told her we had the signed contract from Ivan and wanted our money back, since we had waited a whole month, taken time off from our jobs, and had cleared the rooms where the carpets would be installed. She told us they couldn't get our money back until Empire found the order, entered it in their system, and processed it. I asked her numerous times for a supervisor only to be transferred to a RUDE AND ANNOYED Shaniqua, as well as a second supervisor who said she couldn't help. We were then sent in to someone's voicemail.

I called again, this time we're finally told the truth..OUR ORDER WAS NEVER ENTERED INTO THEIR SYSTEM. The rep placed us on hold to call Ivan. We were shocked that she reached him being that we, the paying customers, could not reach him. The rep said Ivan told her that he went to Mexico for a month and forgot to fax our order to the office, thus there was no record of our order or our check (even though it was cashed electronically back on 4/2/17).

I just can't understand why or how we were lied to so many times, as well as hung up on. Clearly no one cares and can't tell us when we will get our hard-earned money back. At this point, all we want is our money back ASAP!!! After all Empire, you cashed the check ASAP!!! The last rep put in a cancellation request, and said it could take 15-21 days. THEY ARE A HORRIBLE COMPANY TO DEAL WITH. They are unethical liars who have no decency or respect for their customers. Do not use this company. After all of this, no one has had the decency to call us and apologize. Shame on Empire Carpets!!!

    Reviewed May 7, 2017

I contracted Empire Today to do my carpet upstairs. The appointment was supposed to be at 11:00 but they showed up at 8:00. I called the gentleman I bought it from because the installers were coming a long way to come over here to put the carpet in and I wanted to make sure there hadn't been an accident. He contacted the installers and the installers called back and said they were going to be about two hours late. Then, they called back again and said they'd be here about eight o'clock. So, I was around the house all day.

When the installers got here, they went ahead and started putting the installation in. They moved all the furniture and did a nice job on that. They cleaned up but they should've come with a vacuum cleaner if they're gonna actually clean up. They shouldn't come with a broom and a dustpan. However, somebody needs to be able to speak English properly. One of the installers did not speak English at all and the other one spoke in broken English. The gentleman couldn't understand me. But they did the best they could and got everything put back in. They got the job done and I have nothing against the way they work. They work like the little Trojans.

The next day when it's daylight and I could see, I started cleaning up because I had little carpet fibers all over everything. That's when I found that when they installed the stairwell, they've cut it too short or too narrow. I contacted the company again and they made arrangements to get the gentleman out. A few days later, they came back in again at dark thirty and all of a sudden they said, "You're spending $3,500 with me and you're my last choice. You're gonna be my last job for the day." But, they fixed everything up. They left and they did a good job except for the little shutter doors on my closet. One of them broke. I didn't call them back because I'm aggravated with them. I'll get someone to come in and fix that.

Then a few days later I got a letter in the mail telling me that I need to remit payment by such date. When I bought the carpet, I gave the salesman a check and he went ahead and handed it back to me. Everything was done over the phone. But, I didn't get the response that I should get. So, I contacted the salesman and went through the same thing with him about the cashier's check and I never heard back from him. I went to my bank and I asked them about the cashier's check. I said, "Can you tell me if they can withdraw their money without depositing this check?" The gentleman said, "No. Once I took it out of your account, we put it into a special account and that check has to be cleared by the bank." It is not cleared so I went ahead and filled out an envelope and mailed Empire the check. The gentleman wrote, "Void," on it. I asked the banker if that would affect anything and he said, "No."

Empire wasn't nice enough to contact me to let me know that I have paid the gentleman about $1,500 upfront and that the balance was about $2,500. I would get it paid in full in the last month and a half but I hadn't heard a word from Empire. This was my second time in this house that I have used them. They installed my laminate wood flooring in my bedroom and did a beautiful job. Everything ran smooth. But I would not say never but the chances are good I will never use Empire again.

    Reviewed May 7, 2017

We already removed everything out of our rooms and the four rooms upstairs and had moved those to the ground floor. Empire Today showed up and they didn't bring the carpet we bought. They had three weeks when we ordered before they deliver but they didn’t call us ahead of time they didn’t have the carpet. Then we called the sales manager who said he'll come over that afternoon and see if we can pick a new one because the other one’s not gonna be available. He came out on the same day that they were supposed to deliver and install and he said they’re gonna upgrade our carpet or we can upgrade it for free because of what they did to us. He was talking to his manager on the phone and the manager said they can maybe get the other carpet eventually. The salesman told him we got boxes and stuff from upstairs all downstairs now and there’s nothing upstairs except empty furniture.

They did come the next day and installed and the installers weren’t really well versed in English, which is against Montgomery County code to start with. They were able to understand everything. I went through everything and said only one seam in every doorway. They pretty much covered up the second seam on the doorway until we vacuumed three days later.

When they took all the carpet up they swept, which was good, but they didn’t want to remove all the staples. So they left chunks of padding all under the floor but they didn’t have a tool to remove all that stuff easily and I had to help them remove as much as they could. What really bothered us was the fact that when we called them and told them what the problem was and they asked why I didn’t tell them that when they were leaving. I said that it's because the guy was sitting on the second seam in the doorway so, we didn’t see it. He also kept raking it with his little rake machine to make it look like it was all fluffed up. We vacuumed and we could see that the seam wasn’t even done well on the second seam in the doorway. They intersected in the doorway and it's bizarre. You don’t install carpet like this.

It’s lumpy bumpy in some places because they left stuff under the padding. But it’s not noticeable unless you’re walking around in bare feet and it took two weeks or about a week and a half for it to outgas. It’s made from recycled plastic bottles governed by the government to help the public which is much better than nylon and it's great because those have got guidelines in order to keep people safe from cancer-causing things. Outgassing is dangerous especially on nylon. They’re moving away from nylon because they have to use dyes, stains, glue and stuff that are very very dangerous to breathe because it gets inside all of the house. It’s terrible. The original carpet that we got that they didn’t deliver was better than the upgrade. The upgrade gave us a longer warranty, but from an outgassing standpoint, it was worse than the original we selected.

Then, they said they got the carpet and they’re coming out. They sent the two guys that did the installation back out and they were apologetic and nice guys. They pretty much said to us that Empire wants them to utilize all carpet so, they have to piece things in. You don’t piece something in on the doorway because that’s where high traffic is. It’s noticeable and weird. You got a triangle in the doorway. They got on the phone and they admit it doesn’t look right and that the seam is coming apart. It’s gonna come apart because there are three pieces of carpet pulling against each other. The triangle, which is roughly about two feet or a foot and a half wide or two feet deep, is gonna lose the battle. It’s gonna be pulled by the big carpet pieces. The lady from Empire said they’re gonna redo it. I asked if the dye lot is gonna match and she said it will. They called us and said they’re installing on the following Tuesday.

We, again, take everything out of the room and we’re waiting for them on Tuesday morning. At 8:19 in the morning, they called us and said they didn’t have the carpet and they have to specially order it. I said that we’ve moved everything out of the room, again and they said sorry. They said they didn’t know when the new carpet piece is gonna be in but the dye should match which was wonderful. Two weeks go by, I contacted the Consumer Affairs and told them what they’ve done.

When I made the complaint, the salesman contacted me four times between 10 and 11 o’clock at night and started screaming. He’s so upset and said that I was attacking him. I didn’t attack him, I made a formal complaint and said he was one of the contacts. He also told me he was gonna have to get a lawyer and I said all I did was complain because nobody was responding at Empire. Then at 11:15, he texted me and said that if I'm still up, he’d like to talk to because he's sorry. He didn’t read the documents properly and thought I was attacking him. The contract is arbitration but it's in Illinois and they don’t tell you in the contract the price. It’s $750 and it’s nonrefundable. That’s the legal approach to this and it I had to do that. Montgomery County had really good laws and there are a lot of other things that you can do especially working and talking with them.

I hadn’t heard anything, so I went online. Their website has a thing where you can put the code that they gave you for the complaint and you can send them an email. Then, I got an email back saying they’re giving me a new code and they’ve referred this to the local office. That’s not what I was saying. I was just reminding them they haven’t communicated with me. There were times when they said they called the house. We have three phones, my wife’s phone, my cell phone and the house phone which all has voicemail. They didn’t call us.

The guy finally got a hold of somebody at Empire and I got a call that afternoon. They said that the carpet’s in. The order came in and they’d like to schedule. They’re scheduled to come again and I don’t’ know whether they’re gonna show up with the right carpet or whether they’re gonna show up at all. Also, after we get a new carpet in, we’re gonna have another week and a half before somebody can sleep in that room because the smell is so bad.

This is not the way to do business. We’ve had three sets of carpet and this will be the third set in the upstairs. We’ve bought from Home Depot for years and never had this problem. The funny thing is I counted 50-50 reviews online and 50% were saying they did a bad job and 50% were saying they were thrilled and Empire did great jobs. What’s interesting is that this double seam in the doorway is done a lot by them. The installers tell us this is Empire’s MO and this is the way they operate. They don’t carry and they won’t order the large pieces of carpet so, they try to patch things in and make the installers do this unbelievably messy job.

I feel bad for a lot of people out on the internet. This one guy wrote about double seams and he said his seams are berber. He said they looked totally a mess and he has no way to fix it at all. They’ve tried to patch it and they won’t put new carpet in. It is bizarre. Why would they do stuff like this? I think because they are the cookie cutter in McDonald's with fast service and get it done quickly. This is what we’re buying from them and I think that’s a mistake if they can't do it. Then, they wonder why they get all these complaints online about these kinds of problems. It was very frustrating. The next appointment will be frustrating especially if it doesn’t match up or they do come or the carpet is totally not installed right. Everything’s cleared out and we haven’t put everything back. So, we’ve been living for three weeks basically without using that room at all. I don’t like to have to deal with people like this.

My problem is that they’re solving the problem because of what I’ve done. I don’t think they’re solving the problem because they realize they had screwed up and they needed to make it right. That’s sad because they advertise like crazy. My last two carpets that were all upstairs had one seam in every door way and was fine and it seemed too simple to screw up but they did. I’d like them to fix the problem.

Over time the floor is peeling up and we have a crack in the floor starting at the baseboard about two feet long. The caulking at the fireplace cracked away soon after installation. I protected the floor with area rugs and did not see how much of the floor is lifting. We called the company and a person came out and charged $ 70.- plus to look at the damage. He said someone from the company will call to fix it. He never called. My husband made many calls that were not returned. When we finally talked to a rep. we were told that because I cleaned with Murphy's Oil soap, they will not fix it. That is sad. They should not sell a floor that can't handle a mist sprayed with diluted oil soap. What we have learned from this is that we will deal with local business from now on.

I looked at a small maybe 6x7 inch sample of a one color Acacia wood and liked it, but I told him I did not like the "stripey" look in the picture provided. He said "It isn't stripey." I then said, "Well, this picture sure looks stripey." He replied "It isn't like that." I then a 3rd time said, "Jay, come on, if it isn't stripey, why would they put in a picture that looks like that?" His reply: "You'll love it. Trust me." And bad lighting in the picture was mentioned. Good grief.

Since I was told he had 30 years experience in the industry, I doubted my own eyes, figured it was a bad picture, and ordered off the one color sample provided. I was not home during installation. When I got home so excited to see my "uniform color" hardwood floor (not stripey). I walked in and my heart sunk and my stomach began to feel sick. 20 years of waiting and $8800.00 and the floor was incredibly stripey, swirly and the variation was extreme. A vanilla board next to a chocolate board. Mottled coloration everywhere. Intentional saw marks and large back sealed over cracks. Because too late, I found out that's how Acacia is, but I had no idea and I'm not sure the sales rep, Jay, did either. If he did, he should have told me.

The worst part is that Empire will not replace this floor based on the misrepresentation because I "allowed it" to go in. Yes I did - based on a sample of ONE color that I took all over the house because I loved that ONE color (of course I know hard wood has a little variation) and based on the sales rep telling me three times in a row the wood would not be "stripey." He should have steered me immediately to other flooring when he heard my comments, and he should have picked up, by my comments over and over, that I wanted uniformity. But I trusted his experience. I believed him when he said the picture was not a good representation. Well, yes it was a good representation... That is what Acacia looks like, I found out too late. But I was told it would not look like the picture.

The only "resolution" I am being offered is to spend more thousands on another floor and be prepared to have my sub-floor wrecked pulling this one up and having to pay for that too. I'm sorry, but Empire needs to step up, admit this is NOT a "he said she said" like the sales rep likes to call it (my husband was there), and replace this flooring at their cost. Empire is a huge corporation. They can make this happen if they want. I should not have to pay any more for them to fix this and make this right with new flooring. But the corporate giant will most likely not care much about this one customer. We'll see.

Empire's representative was really nice and I figured that was one of the best companies to do the job that I wanted done so I went with them. I got a wood-colored carpet from them. Their people were very courteous and the installers were very good. Everybody did a great job. However, I have sliding doors and there are in-betweens on the bottom. I don't think they put them back. Also, they didn't put the doors in enough and so they shake a bit. Nevertheless, I'm very happy with what they did. It's night and day from what I had to what they put in. I would recommend them to anybody.

This firm was hired to replace carpet in two bedrooms and remove/replace furniture. This firm gives you a low cost offer, asks you when you want carpet installed, agrees to a near term date, and then regularly pushes out the install date. They get you signed up and then can't deliver on deadline. My realtor had 3 bad experiences using Empire with her clients. I was one of them. Neither I or my realtor was given advance instructions on prepping furniture for moving. When they came to install, it was just one guy to move furniture that included heavy desks and credenza. He and office staff said they didn't think they'd be able to get another person. I had to help move drawers out of desks and credenza and take apart the bed.

Finally, they agreed to provide another person for the outset and close of the job. They wanted payment upfront in full, despite showing with one guy and me not having even seen the carpet yet. When all was said and done, and lots of hassle at the outset of the install and before, the carpet went in and looks fine. But this was one of the worst customer service experiences I've had in the construction/remodel industry.

However, there's one small place where they weren't able to get the laminate down to my satisfaction. It left the end piece up a little bit. They came back out to fix it, but to no avail. They also said that if I had knocked the piece up or I damaged it further, I still have a warranty over a year and that they would come out and take care of it. I'm going to live with it, but I'm not satisfied with it.

We purchased new carpeting for our home in September 2015. After a day or two we noticed that the seams were very noticeable, something that was not apparent during the daylight hours of the installation. The carpet was examined by Empire and found to be defective so it was replaced by them in January 2016. It is only 17 months old but is already showing significant signs of wear. I had it professionally steam cleaned a few months ago in hopes that the carpet would look better but it is still noticeably worn in the heavily trafficked areas. We did not buy cheap carpet. Since it is past the one-year warranty there is nothing we can do. We were hoping to enjoy this carpet for at least as long as we had our previous carpet which was 15 years but I doubt it will last 5. Poor quality carpet.

The installers then said that they have other appointments and they might be able to come back in a few days.

I called the home office and they were no help. They couldn't get in touch with management or management just didn't care. I then called their cancellation department and they couldn't get in touch with the management in the Tampa area. I was then told that they couldn't get anyone to come out to our house to install the flooring until May 8th. So much for their promise and commitment to their customer. I recommend that, anyone reading this, find another company that has better customer service.

Problems started from the beginning. I went online and scheduled an appointment with Empire Today. We were interested in the 50/50/50 sale, which was half off carpet, half off padding, and half off installation. The next available appointment was 3 weeks out. Fast forward to the day the salesman came, it was April 24, he was on time. He was trying too hard to be funny and it was getting annoying. We let him know upfront we were selling our house in the next week or so and was not interested in top grade. He showed us some samples after he measured. We narrowed it down to two choices, and I made sure to ask if these were the ones that were included in the sale, he just said these are the "cheaper ones." The price on one was 1270 and the other one was 2200, we were shocked at the difference in price, and supposedly 50% off.

When I said, "Well I guess it's the 1270 then", the salesman said, "I didn't even charge you for carpet padding." I was like wow, thinking I got a great deal. My husband did all the electronic signing on the salesman's notepad. I asked for a breakdown of the charges, he told me we would be getting it in an email, along with the contract he was signing. I checked out the email the next day or so and noticed there was not a breakdown of the charges, but just a set price. I called the 1-800 number and was told I could have a receipt mailed to me, but they did not have access to the "breakdown" of charges. I found that odd. They connected me with a regional salesman in my state, and I told him that I was concerned since I did not see a breakdown in charges that I didn't get the 50/50/50 sale pricing.

He informed me that we got a great price. I asked him well that didn't include carpet padding right? Because the sales guy said he didn't even charge me for it, and he said, "Ma'am, he didn't charge you for the better grade pad." I said "Well he didn't say that, he said no charge at all for padding." He apologized for the lie and said he would talk to him, and that he was new to the company. So, today was the day (1 week and 1 day from the sale) that the installation was to occur. We got several emails instructing us what to do. We called to verify the appointment, my husband and I both took off work, we cleared out the three bedrooms completely. We were told they install between the hours of 8 am and 6 pm, they would call with a "window" of time they would arrive, and if we did not hear from them before 10:30 am to call the 1-800 number.

I was pleased I got a call at 8:30, but they said the truck was running late and they would call back around 10:30 am to give me the window of time they would be here. It got to be almost noon and no call, so I called. The call center representative put me on hold to try and call the installers to see when they would be coming. While I'm on hold I get a call, I answer it and it's an automatic recording that said due to another installation before me they could not give me a window of time they would be here but it would be between the time they called 11:45 am and 6 pm. Well, we waited, and we waited, and we waited. 6:00 pm comes, I call, explain that no one is here nor have they called. The representative put me on hold to call the installers, I get hung up on. I call back. This time I'm told unfortunately installation is not going to happen today, the installers are not even in my state!

I was very upset, we had take off work, made arrangements for my animals to stay at a friends, cleared out 3 bedrooms completely and didn't get so much as a call! I asked to speak with a manager as this was unacceptable. I was told that I could only get compensated 75.00 and the next installation day was not for another week. Now the sale of my house is pushed back, we have to clear the rooms out AGAIN, make arrangements for the animals AGAIN, and take off work AGAIN! I said that price for everything that had happened and subsequently going to happen that 75.00 in compensation would not be acceptable. I was informed that was the highest compensation she was able to grant, but she would forward everything to her manager who was out of the office already.

She also set up another appointment which the earliest was Monday May 8, another week out. I of course agreed to set up that day, but requested new installers. Shortly after I received a phone call from the installer apologizing for not coming, he stated it was the call centers fault for not calling me and telling me that he couldn't make it, and he said he had my carpet on his truck and he could install it tomorrow. I informed him that was not an option since I work nights and had to work and would not be able to sleep with carpet being installed. I told him I was told by the call center that the next available appointment was the following Monday.

After that call, I received another one from the manager I spoke with earlier. She said she had a counter offer, they could move the installation up to Thursday or Friday this week. I said Friday would work, although I get home Friday morning from work and would not have my husband available to move the furniture and I still expected compensation for everything that happened, she is in the process of getting back with her manager on a resolution. I did inform her I was writing this complaint. I know things happen, but when you make accommodations a week in advance and you wait around with no call informing you they're not coming, and now you have to make accommodations again, it's just not acceptable.

Matter was resolved. Our salesperson and follow-up customer service was kind and professional unlike the experience with customer service on the day the tile installers did not show as scheduled. After having to switch products (due to a small hole in the floor) and rescheduling the tile, they did not give the installers enough product to finish the floor and they had to go back to get the additional two tiles needed (they did not break any so it was not the installers). This extended the length of the job into the evening. I honestly can not say for sure I would use Empire to schedule a flooring job in the future.

    Original Review: May 2, 2017

We scheduled both a carpet and tile install, verified dates, confirmed, prepared the rooms. The carpet installers showed up on time and are in the process of finishing the install. The tile installer was no show. No call. Nothing. The first call to Empire lasted 15 mins. The guy hung up on us. Second call lasted 32 mins. First, couldn't find our info. When found, called the installer. No answer. Then called the installer's boss. He said he called us this morning to say they wouldn't be there. (Not at all true, never called). Now they don't have any appointments avail and we have no flooring in the bathroom. Being hung up on and being lied to is a no go. The carpet installers had no problems calling and showing up. Keep your tile. Your customer service after you get the sale is unsatisfactory.

A very well spoken young man came out to show us samples of the carpeting he had available. We chose a carpet, one of the better brands and a higher price, then chose the best padding available. We set a date for installation and he was sure that the job, our entire house of 1400 sq ft could be done in one day. We were delighted. They were scheduled for 8-9 am on a Tuesday morning. They arrived around 10:30am. There were 2 men and a boy that arrived. Only one of which spoke very little English. They began the job. Most of the day, we helped carrying out pieces of cut, rolled and taped carpet to help expedite the job as it became more obvious that the job was not going to be completed that day. They left carpet rolled and taped in our driveway and came back the following afternoon to finish the job.

Upon finishing there was more carpet and padding that they had taken from the home that would fit in their van. He said they would return the following morning early to retrieve the remaining scraps. After several phone calls we were told the carpet scraps would be picked up on Friday morning. Friday late in the day we began to call because the scraps remain on our sidewalk, blocking our entryway. We were then told that it would be Monday before they could pick up their trash. After many more phone calls it was decided that someone would come out on Saturday morning and remove the rubbish. And they did show up on Saturday morning.

However now, we have issues with seams in doorways and across rooms that are pulling apart. This has not been a pleasant experience at all. And under no circumstances would we ever recommend using Empire Today for any flooring needs. What comes next I suppose is dealing with them, their installers, and all the trouble we are going to have with seams.

But it wasn't in the work order and if I wanted to add it, it's gonna be another thousand dollars. We declined to add the additional because of the money.

I'm dissatisfied with the requirement that you fully pay for it up front before they install it. Then, if you got any problems with it, you handle it after it's installed which I don't like. We had situations that developed that were handled by the contractor who came from out of state. They're not using their people and something more local would have felt better like the ones we had from Lowe's when I had them to do work. It was also unclear if we talk to the contractor or Empire. But the contractors were good and I had no problems with them. The guy that handled it was hard working and he did everything right. He also made sure he's comfortable with us. We had some problems with one or two of their workers but they handled that. Also, I'm satisfied with the product after it's installed. The new flooring has met expectations and I like the color.

I always heard good things about Empire, saw the commercial and I thought I’d give it a try. Also, when I had painters over at the house, I asked them if they did flooring and they said yes but none of their prices compared to Empire. Empire Today did three rooms, a hallway with carpet and a bedroom with wood flooring. Their work was more than what I expected. It wasn’t real wood but it matches the real wood perfectly. We are going to do the rest of the house into wood as well.

I had a horrible time though trying to get the information on what I owe when I paid the check for half of it the day the flooring was installed. What I was getting in the mail didn’t match up and I keep telling them each month I want a paper copy that shows what I paid in the beginning and what I owe. But I’ve just gone round and round and I just said to forget it. I don’t even know how much more I owe as compared to what I paid and I’ve been really frustrated with that. Other than that, they've been professional, quick, and clean. They really strive to perfect everything.

We have Laminate floors installed on our entire home by Empire Today. They were better than other brands because they're a one-stop shop and were giving the best price. Their salesman was very knowledgeable and understood exactly what I needed. He knew that I was trying to chew more than I can bite because I wanted to do the demolition myself. So he made it so much easier to make me understand that it wasn't as easy as I thought it would have been. Though at the end, the amount of the savings wasn't that dramatically much, but it made more sense to let them do all the work instead of me taking the time to do it.

Laminates look nicer and I like it better than hardwood floor. It's not as messy as carpet or tile because we don't have to worry about the grout and all that stuff. It's easy to clean and very low maintenance. It has a big long plank and it's scratch-resistant. So it works like a charm in the kitchen because it's water-resistant. Also, the installers were very professional and were very nice guys. They made my experience even better because they made sure that they didn't damage the walls and took their time to do stuff. They even did extra stuff by covering things that they should have never done because it was not supposed to be there. Eventually, the house is gonna be a rental property at some point, so it's gonna rent very well.

Empire flooring is horrible. Beware. I have a floor that is buckled in my hallway. The repair crew came out and stated they would cut it out and put a transition in. In the middle of my hallway. I explained that this was not acceptable. I got up with the install manager. I invited him to see my point. He basically said this is the resolution. I asked, "What if it doesn't look right?" He basically said then I'm stuck with it.

I have called and called and I can only get people at the 1800 line and they say someone will call, but they never do. I have asked for a person above the install manager, corporate office or anyone in charge. No results. It appears they want to do some "patchwork" and get out of town. Their experts on the sale and install should have said I would have needed an elevated transition in the middle of my hallway prior to anything. Then I would have not purchased this product. I am completely disgusted with this lack of customer service. I will continue to pursue this plus either small claims or BBB. If anyone else has had a bad experience or has a number please let me know. I could go on and on. However, I think you have the point. It looks much worse in person than the pics show. Trust me.

Empire Today has redeemed themselves. Even though at first it was a struggle getting my problem resolved they kept in contact and showed that they would do anything to satisfy their costumers. Floor was reinstalled by a professional I couldn't be more happier. Only thing left for them to complete my day is for the dented fridge door to be replaced. They ensured me it is being resolved. I would recommend their services.

My experience with Empire Today. Had a crappy installer. Did a poor job (trimming uneven, didn't spackle the holes in the trimming), dented my fridge, got mad when we wouldn't take money instead of a repair. Then for two additional days in a row I was told someone is coming and for those two days the employees were a no call/no show. I had to call to find out they weren't coming. I was told someone is coming tomorrow. If no one shows tomorrow I'm seeking arbitration. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I will not recommend you to anyone.

They sent another guy and I didn't like him as much I liked the first salesman because the first guy explained and wrote everything on the contract what they're gonna do. The second guy didn't. He didn't write that they were supposed to rip the floors up and put the new floor down. They did only the bathroom floor for me and ripped it up but the kitchen they covered over. But when the guys got here, they said they had to take the floor up. And it cost me about $400 more which was not in my budget. I was very upset about that because I kept asking the salesman if he was sure and he said his guys can put the floor there right over top of the old one. With his experience, he should have known. I would never use him again. But the guys who did the job were excellent. I would still recommend Empire. I have been recommending everyone to Empire and I’ve been showing everyone my floor. But I let them know of my experience of the sales representative. I was not thrilled with him.

Please help. I would like to know if I could be compensated for repairing my floors that are only 15 month old and have been discontinued. I had laminate flooring installed in December 2015. In February 2017, I had a flood in my house, caused by a busted pipe in my bathroom wall. On the other side of the wall was my family room, and it sustained heavy water damage, over half the room. Since the floors were no more than 15 months old, surely I could get the room replaced.

I called Empire, explained my situation and they said, "Sure no problem, those floor are still in stock." I schedule an appointment, the consultant came out and he informed me I would have to get all three rooms, plus the hallway done because the manufacturer had discontinued my floors. So I asked him if I could talk to someone in corporate, and I called and talked to a person who identified himself as the customer service manager. I explained my situation to him, he told me he would look into it, and to give him a call back. I called him back, I got a voice mail stating he will be out of his office until 4-4-17. I called back on 4-4-17, and to this date, I have been calling, and leaving messages, and still no answer.

    Reviewed April 26, 2017

I had both a good and bad experience with Empire Today. My carpet was installed fast and efficiently. No problem. With the vinyl install it was to take 1 day for the entrance, kitchen and bath. It took 4 days total. The first installer came out and was only able to complete the bathroom install as he stated my flooring was not level and a contractor needed to come out. After almost 6 hours the vinyl was placed, however after looking at it the square pattern it is off on every wall up to 2 inches.

I was also told to cut cost by not adding vinyl to the laundry area in the bathroom. I thought by that it would at least go under the door by an inch or 2 so that I would not be able to see both my old and new floor. When the laundry door is closed, but both floors are visible. This looks very bad - not sure why the salesman would recommend this! It looks very cheap and unappealing - I saved 250.00 -but now have an ugly room. A wood trim piece was placed in front of the heat register. Some bubbles were found already under the flooring.

The contractor that came out to do the kitchen and bathroom (he just needed to mud the floor) said he could fix the bathroom floor and make it look right! His work was perfect in the kitchen/entrance! Not crooked! Very happy with his work. Empire did send a representative Scott out to inspect - I was told my walls were the problem. So my floor pattern is up to 2 inches off because of my crooked walls on all of my walls.

I accepted that until friends and family stopped by and they also felt it was shoddy work. I called Scott and he said he would talk to the contractor who said he Could get it right and Call me back... Of course no call back. I filled out the online survey and again promised a call back in 2 days to no avail. (A call back regarding fixing the flooring by the laundry room was promised also, but no response.)

My concerns. - Why was my old square print spot on - not crooked - if my walls are the problem? The old flooring should have also been crooked. This does not make sense! In front of my laundry doors that are 58 inches my tile print grows by 2 inches! 7 inches to 9. In front of the 59-inch vanity it goes from 3 1/4 inch tile to 5 inches. Bathroom entrance pattern 1 3/4 " grows to 3 1/2 square. In a 5' area. If when the measurements were taken by the sales rep. why wasn't I told to pick a plain floor vs a print because it would look bad? I hate that my floor is crooked on all walls - would think an experienced salesman would pick up on this. And recommend flooring that would look great and not off centered.

I did have a concern with cost -I was told by the salesman to cut back by not re-flooring under my washer and dryer so that the appliances would not have to be moved. But had I known I would see a couple inches of my old floor, (the appliances are about 5 inches in) the new floor stops before the door with an ugly metal plate, in front of the door hinge. Because the new floor stops in front of the laundry I see both prints. This looks cheap. I would definitely have paid the extra money not to make the room look hodge-podge. I was trying to improve my bathroom not make it look worse. At this point the old floor looked more professional, just dated. This should not have been suggested or explained better!

If the Empire contractor says he would be able to fix it -- and get it straight (like his other work) why wouldn't Empire Today want to do the right thing? After spending $2,900.00 on flooring I want it to be something I'm happy with - I am very disappointed with my bathroom workmanship. Also being told I would get call backs 3 times and no responses, makes a very unprofessional experience! I would Not recommend Empire Today, based on the way this is being handled. Very unprofessional.

We had a laminated floor put in by Empire Today. They installed it in my dining and living room. I like the way it wears and it's very easy to keep cleaning just with a dust mop and everything comes up. The workers were very good and did an excellent job. They're very clean, didn't leave a mess and I was just happy with them. The only thing that I was disappointed was they told me to put those sticky gummy things underneath the legs of the chairs, so it wouldn't scratch. But it seems that every time we sit in the chair or even on the couch, it slides even with these things on them. It's like a little leg thing that you put on and it keeps the floor from being scratched.

The workers told me to get these little discs to put underneath the legs. But you have to be careful when you sit or the whole chair goes flying, because of the matte finish on the floor itself. I don't know what else I could put underneath the legs of the chair, so they don't slide when you sit and who I could talk to about that. Other than that, everything is fine and I'll recommend them to a friend.

We purchased the blinds 3 years ago when we purchased our new house. Part of the attraction was the "lifetime warranty". Except the warranty costs $75 every time you make a claim after one year. Except they have had our blind in for repair for 2 1/2 months and all I get is the run around any time I call. Except the prices were higher and the product not even close in quality to the blinds we got at Lowe's at our previous house. If all this attracts you, then go for it. In the future, I'm not even calling Empire for their "lifetime warranty". I'm going to Lowe's or ANYWHERE but Empire and put my $75 towards a quality product.

UPDATED ON 05/01/2017: Ok, following up my previous review of Empire blinds, they magically found my blind after posting my original review on this site, and delivering and installing it on Saturday. They also said they would refund the $75 warranty charge (yet to be received). The bad (truly funny) news is that this is a top-down, bottom-up blind, meaning it is designed to be raised from the closed position from the bottom, or lowered from the top. First, they reversed the controls, so it is backwards from every other blind in the house, and what it was originally (bottom up is now on the right, and vice-versa). That was funny enough. Where it gets truly hysterical is that the bottom up works very poorly, and the top down doesn't work at all! Why am I not surprised?

I don't like the look of it and do not think that having a seam next to the wall is acceptable. I was told by Empire that YES it is acceptable to have a seam there, and that the pictures the installer took of that area looking OK. They also patched in a 5 inch circle at the corner of a cabinet that I did not like. When you pay the price and buy new, you expect new. I won't use them again.

Representative came to my home. Quoted me on a carpet of lesser carpet I had already received quote from another company. Empire's original quote $4,300 - I told him we would not be able to do business because other quote, as said for better carpet, was $2,200. He said he should be able to get it to $3,000, again I said no. He then held his phone in hand and said if we would guarantee to do business if he could get the price to $2,200, I told him I would not guarantee anything, IF he could get price to $2,200 I would need to allow the other company a chance to meet price. I also asked him if we had STUPID written across our forehead since the beginning price was double. He said he couldn't make the call without the guarantee and we said goodbye.

About 10 minutes later, while my husband and I were in the backyard shed we heard someone calling for us and lo and behold he was there with the price of $2,000. I said no I would not deal with him. About 3 - 4 days later, someone from Empire called and said she was calling to tell us she could get the price even lower and again I said I would not deal with Empire, even if the price was $1,000. All we can say is make sure you get reputable quotes and have the samples with you before you call Empire.

The installers had to move everything and placed everything back perfectly the way it was. I’m glad I went with Empire because they did a really good job and everyone comes over to see my floors and they say, “Oh wow, that is so nice. It makes the house look bigger.”

I had Empire before and purchased a carpet for the whole house and blinds too, and I was pleased with them. I got them again and they installed carpet in the living room, hallway, bedroom and upstairs. The sales representative was a very nice young man. He was pleasant and explained everything. We ended up getting indoor carpet because I have a handicapped sister and he said it'd be easy with the wheelchair. And he never lied. I had a lot of rugs down and tripping over. So the carpet was a blessing to me. I was going to get one color in here and he adjusted it with the same color, which I'm glad he did.

The two young men who did the installation were very nice too. I didn't have to move anything. I have a hospital bed in one room and they moved it around. They moved everything and put them back properly. It was just a pleasant experience. But there's a little fat or buckled part in the hallway and living room, and I'll need to call Empire Today. Other than that, Empire is a good company and I've recommended them to people. When I'm able, I'm going to get blinds from them again.

Horrible. No stars whatsoever. Call Empire Today after getting several estimates from other carpet companies. Decided to go with them because they were few hundred dollars cheaper than the other ones. That was the worst decision I ever made. Carpet look great. When the salesperson came out very friendly, showed us a good quality of carpet and the thick padding. Thought okay good carpet, good padding at a reasonable price.

So after paying a deposit I'm waiting only a few days for it to be installed. Very happy with it not taking so long for it to be installed. They comes for it to be installed. They decide to lay the carpet out in the road where everybody drives. Instead of setting it in our driveway after moving the vehicles for them. Some people ran over it but it didn't seem to bother them.

I know it's no excuse but unfortunately I was so busy with taking care of a few personal matters at the time I wasn't paying attention too much. Come to find out after they're halfway through installing the carpet is not the carpet we ordered. It is not the padding we ordered. The padding and the carpet is something you would put in an apartment, a cheap apartment at that. Nothing against Apartments. But I live in a home. I would like the quality of carpet that I pick to be put in my house, not the crap they gave me.

After several months and several calls most of them not returned someone finally comes out to look at the carpet. The carpet is matted down. The seams are coming up. There's a hole in one of the bedrooms to where it looks like the machine had frayed. I show the person all the things that are wrong to be told that it's my cat's fault that the seams are coming up because apparently my cat sits in the doorway and scratch in a straight line then my vacuum to be blamed for messing the carpet up. This is hilarious. My outdoor living cats and my $1,200 Kirby vacuum is to blame for their crappy apartment grade carpet.

I am extremely unsatisfied with this company. The only thing they care about is taking your money and give you cheap carpet so they can line their pockets. I hope other people see this so that they do not get screwed over like I did. I work hard for my money and to be ripped off, lied to, ignored and told that it's my fault that their carpet sucks.

What's wrong with having a little ethics, a sense of pride in your work, not screwing people over. If you do mess up, righting the wrong. You own a company. You're supposed to be there to help people. To make people feel good about what they're buying. Not to screw them over and take their money. My husband and I have been in construction all of our lives and we have never once have screwed somebody over. We wouldn't be in business today and be going off of word-of-mouth instead of advertising. If we did what Empire Today does we would not be in business still after 36 years. They are nothing but Crooks who care nothing about the customer only about themselves.

Sales representative sold me Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) flooring after several attempts to go with ceramic flooring. The salesman ensured that the LVT was just as great quality wise and less expensive. He ensured me that he was getting me a great deal. He promised the price included all necessary products, including transitions placed on flooring. I decided to go ahead and move forward. I was told that installers would arrive at my home at 8am. Installers did not arrive until 9 and came unprepared. They did not have the simplest of things like plastic that would cover my kitchen cabinets from dust and glue. They left for Lowe's to purchase the items. They returned a hour later to now begin the job.

While hacking away on the existing flooring they notified me that I would need plywood under the tiles. I called Empire, which informed me that would be an additional $800.00 dollars. I told them I was not informed that this would need at the time of the sales, and that the sales representative had never explained after looking at my flooring in every corner and discussing what was under the current tile. My panic and main concern is that I have a kitchen being demolished and I owe $800 dollars more. I told them I would have them leave and not finish the job if that was the case. Empire took care of the additional cost. The installers continued. They finished, however gave me no instructions on what to do next, dry time, product care.

The next day I contacted customer service regarding dry time and product care. They told me to give the area 24 hours to dry. I also stated to customer service that the installers did not install a transition on the flooring. Customer service rep said it was another additional cost. I explained I was told by the sales rep it was included. Needless to say the sales rep told me what I wanted to hear to get a sale!

After waiting the 24 hours, I began to move items back into my kitchen. Stepping on the tiles they seemed to be squishy (not dried). I then began to notice holes between the grout. There was a portion of the floor where it did not have any grout between the two tiles, on one side of my cabinets was covered with glue. There was glue and grout stuck to all parts of the base board and cabinets on the corners of my kitchen. On 3 separate areas of my kitchen the tile was not even (one up, one down), they were also not cut right to align. I immediately contacted Empire again regarding the concerns, I was told by the first rep who contacted me back that I basically had Empire eat the $800 dollars for the plywood and that I shouldn't complain! I was outraged at the lack of professionalism. I asked to speak to someone else.

Someone else contacted me and informed me they would need to send over an inspector, but couldn't give me an exact time. I was explained that I work, I need a time frame. After several back and forth conversations to get an exact time, the inspector came and agreed that the job was rushed and sloppy. The inspector gave me the options of repairing some of the imperfections or to redo the job. I chose to redo the job. However, after contacting Empire regarding the redo, they told me they needed to send out another inspector who is in charge of the installers that did the job. I asked why wasn't he sent out first rather than now having a second inspector. I agreed to have the second inspector come in (now this is into the second week after installation).

The second inspector agreed that there were things done wrong, he also states that there is a depression in the flooring which makes it look like hills in my kitchen floor, but was very stuck on. It can be fixed, however stating in some areas the fix would cause a bubble to appear! He argued that it was a fixable and did not need a redo and that he can patch it up! Totally unacceptable. I have not had a functioning kitchen for two weeks now, because of this. I wish I took my business elsewhere. The lack of integrity, professionalism from sales to installation is unacceptable. The quality is lacking in this company. I will never do business with Empire and I will also make sure that I spread the word regarding their lack of quality. The problem is still not resolved.

We're from the Dallas-Fort Worth area and we bought a house 10 years ago. We put new flooring in there, and had a really good experience with Empire Today then. And, we an equally good experience the second time. When we were here in Louisa, VA and in a little bit more of a remote area, we went to the big-box stores like Lowe's and Home Depot, hoping that we could get something quicker, and not thinking about Empire Today as an option out here. But the stores put us on a six-to-eight week out option and that's not going to work. Then we saw a commercial of Empire and decided to give it a try. We called them and had the flooring the next week.

Also, their salesperson was really helpful. He didn't try to give us anything he knew we didn't want. It's his job to try to sell us up but he didn't. He had a good idea of what we wanted. We have two kids and dogs and we live in our home. We wanted something that was going to make it for a little while and not spend an arm and a leg on it. So we got a basic carpet and financed it.

Empire Today had a 50% off for padding, carpeting, and installation going on. Our salesperson was awesome and forthcoming, and had good communication. I trusted the customer service agent. The installers were hardworking and did their job. Everything was good with the carpet that we got. I like its nice color and I didn't find that color anywhere else whenever I was looking.

However, I have a concern about the way that Empire Today bundles things and won't tell what each thing costs. I had them in our home and they were ready to install. I stopped the installation and called and talked to the manager. She wouldn't let them install because I had so many questions and concerns. I was so angry. They gave me the price and I asked them to break it down for me. Still, they would not do it. So I have no idea if I'm really getting 50 percent off. In that regard, it was absolutely deceptive. I compared carpets of the same thread count and it seemed like they ended up being a couple $100 cheaper. I still got a deal and since we went through the whole process with them, we just went ahead. But I'm never going to get a carpet with them again. It was very frustrating and not a good process.

I scheduled to have carpet and Vinyl installed in my home. First off... I called because of the 50/50 sale they advertise. The estimate was so high it was unbelievable. After he took off 50% - it was in line with everyone else's "Normal" prices. This should have been a red flag... but I went ahead anyway. I agreed to the high price because the install could be done on Monday (this was on Friday). We needed it done quickly because we were moving into the property the following week.

So Monday - I get a call that states the Material was not in. Tuesday... Same thing. Wednesday I am set for install. I asked 10 times to have them call me 5 min prior to arrival, and I would meet them there... I work 5 minutes from the site. I even called the morning of and again made sure they had the note... They did and said they would have them call. At 10 am I get a call stating they were at the house and no one was there... so I headed there. **That should have been clue #2.

When I pull up there is approx 7 Mexicans there, and 1 can speak English - **RED FLAG #3 - He asked me to check the product, asked for my Credit card, and asked me to sign stating the material was right. As I starting reading, I noticed it said "The job is completed to my satisfaction, and I am happy with the install." At that time I told him I did not want to sign until the job was done. I confirmed he had my number, and he said he would call me when they were done. He said it would take approx 3 hours.

After 5 hours and no call, I go to see how they are doing. NO ONE WAS THERE! ALL WINDOWS ARE OPEN! ALL DOORS ARE UNLOCKED! ALL LIGHTS ARE ON IN THE HOUSE! The carpet looked fine - the vinyl is crooked and doesn't line correctly - but I could not discuss it with anyone because they were all gone. I dont know anyone who thinks it OK to just leave a house open/all lights on and unlocked. I called the 1-800 number and was advised it was my fault for not staying for the whole install. I told everyone from the 1st phone call to the estimator to the installers that I would be at work 5 minutes away, and this was never a problem. I am extremely disappointed and unhappy!

I thought about getting our carpet through Lowe's but went with Empire instead because the gentleman there was awesome and he explained everything really well. He really sold the carpet. The first half of our order we got a year ago while the other half of it, we got recently. The price was great and when the carpet was installed in our home, it was amazing. We had a window between 11:00 and something for installation, but they ended up coming at 8:00 in the morning. And that was fine with me because they finished in one day and cleaned up really nicely. They were very polite too.

I really love the carpet's color, the texture, and the padding. Everything is great. However, one of the dogs or someone had an accident up in one of our bedroom so I have to treat the carpet. I'm hoping that it stands up to what the sales rep told me, which is it's not supposed to go through to the pad and it should come off really easy. But other than that, we haven't had any stains or spills on it. Our experience overall has been extremely satisfying.

I have a lot of friends and seen other people’s houses that Empire had done and I liked it. At that time, there was like a half-price sale. So, I had Empire install some carpet in my home back in 2013. Sales representative was good and the installation team was fine. The carpet is fine too. I didn’t have any problems. I had issue in 2016 when I had to do my pipe and got a company to do it. They had to dig my basement. They didn’t test for asbestos like they should have. So when Empire came, they tested and they found it but not in the air. It was just on some of the tiles. So we sealed that but then it was kind of a whole lot of stuff. It took about three months to settle that.

I’m waiting on Empire now to do the other basement. When I got the first one done, I had thought about doing the second one at the beginning because I didn’t know they had asbestos in the tile. My tile was special order. When that came, I don’t know what they had to work out. They worked out something with the person who did the testing and all these machines in my house. Then my daughter said, “Mom if you’re getting ready to sell the house, that’s gonna look bad because the other ones old and this is new and it’s a different color.” So I reordered. And that was December 21st and I’m still waiting.

Defective carpet installed that Empire refuses to replace - On March 29, 2017 a salesman from Empire Today came to our home and gave us a sales pitch on why having Empire install our carpet would be a great decision due to the quality, cost and customer service. He basically guaranteed their work and said if anything was wrong their customer service department stood behind their product. Although the choices were a bit limited due to the colors I wanted was not available the other carpet we decided to go with this carpet that the salesman said was relatively new but selling very well. Despite advertised sales we concluded our meeting with bill of about 1240.00 to carpet our 300 square foot family room.

We were scheduled for a April 1, 2017 installation. Installers showed up on time and were very nice. They made sure that the carpet they were about to install was what we ordered with a little swatch. I agreed that was the carpet that we had chosen. After a couple of hours the installation was complete. The head installer called me to look at the final product. I gave a quick glance and said it was fine and thanked them. But after looking at other areas of the room I noticed there were these blotchy looking circles coming. Thought the light gray patterned carpet. I ran to the door and signaled for the head installer to come back in. I showed him my concerns and he stated it was just shadows or the way the light was shining on the carpet from the window. I told him OK but stated that I may call for another opinion if I continue to see this.

I looked at the carpet more after he left and continued to see more blotchy spots as I walked on it. I even vacuumed it and the same thing was present. This was more than just carpet lines. It was weird white circles throughout. I immediately contacted our salesperson and sent him pics of what I was seeing. He said he could see what I saw and suggested that I call customer service. He stated usually in cases like these someone comes out to review and if they agree with the findings they replace the carpet. I called the 1-800 no. as he advised only to be on hold for almost 45 mins. Once someone did answer they stated that due to the fact it was the weekend someone would contact me within three days.

Within that time frame, Mr. Justin ** contacted me via phone. I explained the situation to him and he also stated what the salesman did about the process of someone coming out to take a look and potentially replacing the carpet if it was defective. I was relieved to hear that and welcomed them to come out and see it for themselves ASAP as I knew it would be obvious that what we received was indeed defective. Mr. ** asked me to send the photos first via email for further review on April 5th. On April 5, 2017 I submitted the pics. By April 6, 2017 I asked for confirmation from Mr. ** that they received the pics. On April 7, 2017 Mr. ** stated that he had received the photos and they were going to "attempt to submit a claim" on my behalf for any type of defect.

I was confused by the verbiage alone; how does one attempt to submit a claim? They are either submitting a claim or not? What happened to someone coming out to look at the carpet? Surely a decision could not be made from pictures alone although they did display the blotches as well. I asked was the claim submitted or not and how long it would take to hear back. Mr. ** stated on April 10th that it could take anywhere from 1-4 weeks. When I asked why no one was coming out and also asked why we never received a contract from Empire Mr. ** became snippy with me and stated that a PIQR submission was the only way any replacement or repair could be done and once anything comes back he'd follow up. Anything?? Do they usually not come back with anything.

Customer service was completely unacceptable all the way around in this case! He should have been on the phone in a courteous manner with a call from his supervisor with conclusive procedures rather than acting like they may or may not submit something or that they were doing us a favor by trying to correct the defective carpet we received. Needless to say I receive not a call but another email today April 18, 2017 stating that the claim was denied by the inspections group. They are calling the white blotches all over my new carpet white lines or prints which are characteristic of this carpet. This was not evident in the sample piece I looked at and what they are referring to what sounds like vacuum lines not these circular blotches which I specifically discussed with Mr. **, never stating anything about white lines.

The only resolution offered to my husband and I is that we replace the carpet. The only thing Empire can do is to offer it to us at a discounted rate while still being responsible for this defective carpet that was installed on April 1, 2017. Never in my life have I felt so mistreated, mislead and bamboozled by a company that prides themselves on customer service! They did not even have the decency to send someone out to look at the carpet or allow us to speak to someone in person or on the phone more professional or knowledgeable than our salesperson or Mr. **. Also to date we still have not received our actual contract although we have requested it numerous times! This situation needs to be rectified by Empire Today as this is no way to treat their customers.

Well, she did not! In fact, I called her mid-day on the 7th, instead. This person spun lies and tried to blame the delay on me & then on back-up. As to why she had not called me back, she never answered my question.

By this time I was so furious that I had extreme difficulty in controlling my anger but I did. I notified the so-called Installation Coordinator that I would be posting my complaints any and everywhere that I could to help others avoid the horribly unprofessional, lying, and useless individuals who could care less about its customer at Empire! It is very hard to get a hold of someone at the office. No one answers the phones and all the voice mails are full and you can't leave a message.

The salesperson was very nice and helpful. We had to wait a week and a half for installation. I received a call from someone telling me the day before that the installer had a personal emergency. Ok I can understand that. They rescheduled for the next morning. NOTHING so at 9:30 I called the 800 number. They said they were at the warehouse loading. About an hour later I received a call apologizing that the installers car broke down on his way to Birmingham from Atlanta and there were no other installers in this area. SERIOUSLY? So the 800 number guy lied to me, hmmm.

They rescheduled for Monday "early" morning. So I am waiting now on day 3, Monday. It’s 11:15 NOTHING. I have called the salesperson and requested my deposit returned. We had three additional rooms we were going to let you do but I will never use this company again. I didn't actually get to use them this time. I have rearranged my schedules and lost valuable time and money waiting on them. I am over it, on to Lowe’s. Don't know why I didn't go there in the first place.

It was our second time with Empire and we had them install our carpet flooring. We wanted better grade carpet. However, my wife was upset about the stain that she can see on the carpet. We reached out to their customer service and they came out and looked at it. First, they sent a technician and then they sent some specialist manager, but nothing got done. They said they could redo it but it'd be at our cost. We just had the carpet put in which doesn't make sense and I'm not sure who's responsible for that. The crew was great and installation was quick, fast and courteous, but I couldn't recommend Empire Today at this time. My wife wanted me to put a big sign in the back of my pickup truck: "Do not buy Empire Today."

Empire's cost was fairly inexpensive and I also liked the fact that they would move the furniture for us. They were very attentive. When they arrived, they showed us the laminate to make sure it was the correct product that we had picked out. And they surveyed what they needed to do, told us what they were going to do, and how they were going to do it. Them explaining to us where they were going made us feel more confident in walking out of the room and just letting them do the install. It was a very good experience and I would definitely recommend them again.

We had a LVP floor installed in Sept 2015. We selected LVP floor for the entire house (approx 1850 sq ft). The total cost was over $13,000. The installers left the job unfinished (kick panels not installed and molding around walls not completed). We were told someone would be back to finish that work. Eventually after some weeks, the molding was installed, but the kick panel under the sink and dishwasher fell apart later. The following summer, we noticed the floor in the kitchen was lifting off the subfloor. After repeated to local C/S mgr Ryan **, we were told that this laminate had issues being used in areas under direct sunlight. Mr. ** suggested putting tile in the kitchen but we rejected this as we wanted what we were promised. Mr. ** then told us that the floor should be glued down. He said that this would violate the manufacturer's warranty, but Empire Today would provide their own warranty.

After several more weeks, a workman appeared, assessed what needed to be done, and said more workman were needed as he could not perform the work alone. The following week, the workman returned explain he was told to do the best he could. He spent 3 days gluing down the marked area. Glue worked up through the cracks in the floor. We were told to wipe the glue with a wet paper towel, but that does not eliminate the problem. We also noticed that there were gaps and misaligned panels. This in October 2016. Since then phone calls and emails have gone unanswered, except for messages that Mr. ** will get back to us next week (November 2016-April 2017).

I wish that I could have gotten the laminate all over but because of the condition on my floor in the hallway, I couldn't do that. But I'm confused in a way. I know Empire had me approved for credit so I don't pay them anymore. I thought I had to pay Empire and who they called up but I did not realize I had to pay the contractor because Empire is already paid out. Other than that, I'd still be back. They charged me $150 to have someone come and glue in a strand of new carpet which looks terrible - you can spot the repair all the way across the room. They refuse to do anything else for me.

I have since learned the issue is the poor quality of the carpet. They sell very cheap carpet that does have every loop stitched down to prevent a run if a loop catches as it did in my case. Of course the sales person did not disclose that to me. The only remedy they have offered to offer me a small discount off of their ridiculously inflated prices to replace the carpet. And they never even managed to drop off the carpet samples for me to pick from. Needless to say I would NEVER recommend Empire Today to anyone for any flooring needs.

We had our flooring replaced almost 2 years ago. We have recently had problems with our tile flooring coming up. They came out and said it was water damage and offered to fix it for $768. They originally came out to fix a issue close to the doorway where it was poor workmanship with connecting to the saddle of the door, in which caused moisture (through the winter, condensation) to seep under the tile, thus causing it to ruin the sub floor. After they said they wouldn't fix it because it was 4 months outside of warranty, I had a contractor come out only to find out that they did not remove the old tile, as they were suppose to. It was even in the contract to do so. So I have a total of 5 layers of subflooring/Flooring and it has no chance to breathe properly. They have refused to help us out with this problem after several calls and emails. They pretty much took advantage of my wife being home during install and did not do what was promised.

It was absolutely satisfactory as far as the product from Empire Today is concerned and we love it. I got the Luxury Vinyl Plank and it was installed in my living room, the hallway, the bathroom and two bedrooms. But, the business part was not up to par and was not professional. My problem was dealing with contacting the sales people because no amount of calls were getting through to get someone who could talk to me, to schedule to come back and do a reselect. That was a major frustration because I had cleared the bank of my money but I didn't have a product and anybody to solve the problem. It went on like that day after day, after day for a week.

I like the fellow that came out the first time, picked out the sample and set up a date for it to be installed. They checked and said that the base that it was going on had too much dampness in it. It's concrete and it would not hold the glue for that particular product. So, they called and talked to people back at their office. They said that they would have a salesman contact me right away to schedule to pick out a new product and said that he would call me back the next day. At the end of the day, there was still no call. I called and said, "Please have someone call me, so that I can do a free selection. Because what I've got can't be installed." They said that they had sent an emergency email to someone there and that person would absolutely have someone get back with me in 24 hours. But, 24 hours later, still hadn't happened.

I was told I was on the schedule for a week from then for the installation, which is absurd. Because, I called day after day after day to the point where I said, "I've already paid my deductible to you and if you cannot supply the product, I want a refund." About 48 hours after that, the salesman called at about nine o'clock and said, "I can be there by 11:30." He had a great product. It was definitely an upgrade for what I have selected but it does not require glue. He wrote on the change order that it was strictly to save the sale as to why I got the upgrade. Strangely enough on the day that they had me scheduled for that next Thursday, they did show up even though they didn't call. So, it has been installed. The installers were great. They moved the furniture as appropriate and cleaned up their mess. They stayed until the job was totally complete and then left. They did a beautiful job and it looks terrific. I'm extremely satisfied.

Empire Today never came back and did my carpet over. It's been over a month now since they're supposed to have come back. Because they came to re-measure and Milton said they were gonna bring some more carpet but they have to go and cut some more carpet because they can't do anything with it. I said my thing was they should have just had both sides even. If they've seen where one side was uneven, they should have just cut it to the equal size instead of cutting it on one side this way and the other end short from the wall. They were gonna bring another carpet, but it was gonna be 18 instead of 17 point something. Then the woman said that I would have to pay some more money. No, I'm not.

They never answered their phones every time tried I to call. I've been leaving messages and they were supposed to get back with me. They did call back and send somebody to re-measure the floors, but they knew that when they measured the floors the first time that one side was uneven. So, they should have cut one end one size, instead of taking the two inches off the end off of one end.

I was telling them I've been trying to call them and leaving messages for them to call me back to see what they were gonna do and they haven't responded. They don't even pick up the phone now. My carpet came with a 10-year warranty, so I was asking them if could they could give me some of my money back. And then someone said something about they could send me a $53 check. I've got a 10-year warranty on the carpet so they're all supposed to do something. But they can never do anything else for me. I told them I was gonna take them to court.

When they finally came, Genevieve, the salesperson that came and showed me the carpet, told me they were gonna have the carpet cut out and binded. They brought the carpet without it being binded, then they had to re-measure. They came and measured three times, and then they had to take the carpet back to the warehouse because I asked them to bind the carpet. Then when they brought it back after the carpet was binded, I said, "You really don't have to bind it. Can't you bring the carpet in and just cut it out like that?" Then he was talking about the carpet might keep running because of the little edges. And I was like, "Well, so?" I would never recommend anybody to Empire Today. I would have been better off getting somebody off the street, go with me to a carpet place, cut it out and lay it down myself. I wouldn't recommend anybody for tile, carpet, vinyl, whatever.

Everything went fairly well with Empire, but I made a call last week to have the salesman call me back about a couple of little issues and haven't heard from him. But I realized last week was spring break for everybody, so he probably wasn't working. And I didn't call until Thursday. I had laminate flooring installed in the kitchen, dining room and den. But the color isn't what we ordered. We didn't get the right color, but I can't turn back from that. We got red cherry and I thought we were getting more of a brown and gunstock-like flooring. We don't really like how it shows all the spots on the floor and it's just too red. But I didn't call Empire and create a whole problem. I wanted to talk to the salesman personally that sold it to us, so I called his personal and salesman phone numbers.

My wife said when they came to lay the floor, she thought somebody made a mistake and picked the wrong color or different boxes. We have three-quarter inch oak in our main living room. And when they did this floor, we thought we were picking a similar color. But only with a little more brown, because our living room is more of a honey oak. So, we figured if we got a smoky or a gunstock flooring, that it would match up a little bit better. They had three boards down and my wife told them, "Boy, I don't think that's the color we ordered."

When the salesman came, I stopped at the Empire office, and they gave me some books to take home, so we could match up and see ones we'd like and what we wouldn't like. And then when the salesman came, he took a newer book out of the back of his car. But the floor is in and they did a nice job. They were supposed to come back and finish and do a couple of other different things. And now, we can't get a hold of anybody. We have the kickboard that are under the cupboards and it's too short. We needed a wider one and they said that they would order it and then get back. And they never have. Also, we got a couple of nails that are sticking up, and it's irritating. So we would really like somebody to come and finish the project that we hired them for.

When they came to take measurements, it was a fair deal especially since they have that half-price deal off which was pretty good. The quality of the hardwood flooring is excellent. They were done very quickly. It was a two-day installation. It wasn’t an easy job for me in my case since I wasn’t living there. I was renting out. There was no furniture, so it was for them an easier job to do than in a home where people are actually living and they have to move furniture out.

The only thing I did have issue with was that when the installers came, they had to come again to clean the carpet on the stairway. We took out the carpet and put hardwood floors into the bedrooms, but the stairway still stayed carpeted. During the going up and down the stairs, there were some spots on the carpet that they left, which was a little frustrating because we had cleaned the top just the week before. So, I had to like call them in and since I’m not living at that location where we had the job done, I had to go in there again, let them in and then they cleaned it, which is fine. I didn’t have to pay for another cleaning or so. But overall, I’m happy with the experience.

I called Empire Today one time and they had a sale then, and they came. The salesman was very professional and polite. He worked real hard to meet my price. When I had a small budget, he was able to get it within $100 up. It was one of the cheapest carpets that they had but so far it's really good. The workers came a few days later. They did the linoleum first and then the carpet. They were great. Even the installers were good.

Apart from that, they did a good job on the installation and the carpeting looked good in the house.

***HANDS DOWN THE WORSE EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD WITH A COMPANY! Representative "NO SHOWED" for my initial in home estimate appointment, which I took 2 hours off from work to accommodate. When I called, I was told the agent scheduled only works in the morning, so they rescheduled me. Had my in home estimated on 03/30/17. Even though Empire's quote was almost $80 more than Lowe's, I proceeded with Empire because the sales representative who spoke with his manager while sitting at my kitchen table assured and guaranteed me that they will be able to get my installation completed on April 3rd. Telling me I would have to wait several weeks for installation from companies like Lowe's and Home Depot and they will not only do my installation on the 3rd, but move my furniture and dispose of my old carpet.

Again I made accommodations and took time off from work for the 3rd, only to get a call the day after my estimate appointment from Empire saying the earliest they can get someone to install is April 7th or I can pick my desired date the week of April 10th. When I called customer care, I'm told the 3rd was never available so they don't know why I was told my installation will be on the 3rd.

I kindly requested that a manager review all notes from now my 4th call to Empire and contact me to discuss some sort of discount for the inconvenience and my time. Two days later, I get a call from a manager apologizing, but saying he cannot do anything regarding the price; as they have maximized the allotted discount for my purchase. When I asked what discounts I was already extended, he said he does not have the purchase order, so he cannot provide me with that information. I was not able to get the 7th off from work, so I asked my parents to meet the installers. When they arrive, they told my 70 year old parents they would have to pay an additional $125 to move the furniture or for a tip they will move the furniture without charging the $125.

AGAIN, by far the worse experience I've ever had with any company. I was conned into purchasing from Empire Today and they did not follow through. They also had no consideration or regards for my time and did not care to do anything to accommodate me for my inconvenience. I was really hoping this would be a great experience because I have a lot of family and friends who works within real estate and are always renovating homes that I have shared my experience with and will never use Empire Today. I've also shared my experience with my office of 300+ employees too and plan on keep on spreading the word. I regret not giving my business to Lowe's.

My husband and I were looking to have laminate floors installed on the entire 1st level of our home and vinyl installed in our 3 bathrooms. We has a sales representative come out to take measurements, give us a quote (over 6k), and allow us to pick the products. Everything seemed to be going well at this point but it soon changed. We set our appointment for installation for about two weeks out.

One week after the initial consultation we received a call from the sales representative informing us that they no longer carried the vinyl we selected one week prior. They did not stock a similar vinyl so we had to cancel that portion of our order. Later the next week we got a call on Thursday confirming the scheduled appointment for that Saturday for the laminate and everything seemed to be fine.

However that Friday, the day before the scheduled install we got a call from another representative stating they were out of stock on the laminate we ordered. They could not complete the job on the scheduled date and we would need to schedule the install for the next Saturday. At this point they were apologetic and even discounted our price for the inconvenience. I understood things happened and since I was guaranteed the install for the next week I was okay with moving forward. Sure I took off a day from work and destroyed my house for the initial appointment but that was an easy fix and again they acknowledged this inconvenience.

My husband and I were scheduled to be out of town during the new installation date however we were able to shift our plans to accommodate. Again the Thursday before the install we received a call confirming the Saturday installation. Saturday morning my husband and I were waiting on a call from the installers with an ETA. At about 7:30 am we did get that call however it was to tell us that they still did not have the product and could not do the install that day. At this point we had been in constant contact with Empire Today and they had plenty of opportunities to inform us of this instead of inconveniencing us for a THIRD time.

The representative stated he would call us on Monday with a concrete date for the product availability and installation. He did not follow up with us on Monday so again I had to give them a call. The young man I spoke with essentially begged me not to cancel our order and to give him a day to get some answers. At this point he assured me he would call me at the latest on Wednesday with an update.

I informed him I would even be willing to look into a different laminate than the one we initially picked as long as the color was similar and the price was the same. He said he would look into that too. Wednesday came and went with no call. Thursday came and went with no call! So I called last night and two representatives pulled up my account and hung up on me before I was able to speak with the third rep. I asked for a supervisor because I was at the end of my rope and she said she was going to transfer me. The call then disconnected.

I feel like I am getting the runaround. At this point I still do not have my floors installed. No one has contacted me with a possible appointment date and at this point I just want to cancel my order, get my money back, and find a new company to work with who values their customer's time, has better communication and customer service. I will even pay the extra money. Some things you just can't put a price on. I absolutely would not recommend this company to anyone on their lack of customer service and communication alone. I am beyond disappointed.

I don't normally write reviews, but my terrible experience with this company has forced me to share my thoughts. I scheduled installation of about 200 sq feet of porcelain tile and 1000 sq feet of carpet. The salesman (Jerry) that I worked with was the only decent part of this ordeal. First problem: Tile installer was supposed to show up on Tuesday, however he did not show up till Wednesday. Upon showing up, he realized he did not have enough of the metal border for the edge of the tile. He said he would go get more during the day, however he never did. I had to leave for work before he was finished and the next morning I noticed that he never installed the metal border around one section of the tile.

Second problem: Carpet installers came next day and noticed that several of the tiles were loose. I started checking the other tiles and found a few more loose tiles along with several tiles that were not laying flat (one end sticks up). Third problem: TRYING TO CALL ANYONE FROM EMPIRE IS A JOKE! I have several names and phone extensions for different managers/coordinators, however no one answers the phone and all you get is a voicemail. If you leave a message, nobody calls you back. The only way I could get somewhat of a response was to text/call my salesman, who would then contact someone from Empire.

I have stopped payment on the check for the tile portion of this job and advised my salesman of this. You would think that my phone would be blowing up with phone calls from Empire, but you would be wrong. Absolutely no phone call!! This situation has yet to be resolved, but I would say this regarding Empire... UNLESS YOU LIKE A LOT OF AGGRAVATION, DO NOT USE THEM!

On August 29, 2016 I signed an agreement with Empire Today to install porcelain tile in our master bathroom in Clovis, California. The installation was scheduled to begin Monday, October 10, 2016. During the preceding week, Empire called to confirm the date. When the installer did not appear on Oct. 10, we called Empire and we were told that they could find the contractor/installer. Later that day or the next we were told that the installer would arrive on the following Monday, Oct. 17. When the installer did not appear we were told he would arrive on Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 8:00 am. The installer arrived at 10:00 but could not speak or understand English. As a result communication was impossible.

The installation was completed about 7:00 pm Thursday, Oct. 20. The installer left almost immediately and due to the agreement, we had to wait 12 hours before we could use the room. Later, when we were able to inspect the job, we found that of the 145 tile or portions of tiles installed, over 30 tiles were damaged in one form or other. Additionally, grout lines varied in width, the baseboard was badly damaged, the toilet was reinstalled incorrectly, and the tiles were not level. Since then several builders and a real estate appraiser have viewed the job and all have said it was very unsatisfactory.

We began calling the Customer Service number on the agreement. None of these calls were answered and only one of the voice messages has been returned. Finally on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, the local Empire contractor came to review the job and told us that he would be making his report later that week, and that we would be contacted by Empire the following week. To date, no one from Empire has contacted us and our calls have continued to be ignored.

So, it's still in the box acclimatizing in my living room and I'll have it installed by a contractor next week. I like its quality, color and pattern. It's real good with the other wood things that I have in the house. It was amazing though expensive. There's a cheaper flooring I could have gotten but not as good in terms of quality, duration and longevity as this. I pay for quality when it comes to home supplies. The young man who came and delivered it did a great job. He was very professional, friendly and he delivered it on time, and nothing was damaged. We're putting it in ourselves after some concrete work is done here. The whole house is being renovated so we'll know in another week how the floor looks. Overall, it was a fine experience.

I made an appointment Friday for an in-home measure the following Tuesday. I was pleased to get an appointment so soon as I have furniture waiting to be delivered and wanted floors installed rather quickly. My scheduled appointment time was 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. I arrived at my new home at 8:30 a.m., set up a table/chairs for the salesperson to use once the appointment would start; I waited from 9:00 until 10:30.

At 10:30 a.m. I called the number to add some information so that it was as easy as possible for the salesperson to locate the house. I then waited until 11:30, giving the appropriate half-hour courtesy before calling back. When I called, the customer service rep put me on hold to call the salesperson. I was told the salesperson was running late and would be at my home in 20 minutes, which is now 40 minutes outside of the allotted window. I waited.

At 11:50 I received a phone call from Empire stating that the salesperson had to cancel as he had a doctor's appointment that he had to go to. Now, I hope that he is well and nothing is wrong medically, but I find it strange that I was not told at 11:30 that he had a doctor's appointment and could not make our appointment, but instead was made to wait another 20 minutes before being rudely cancelled on.

Why was there an available time frame of 9-11 if the only person who would be able to come to my house during that time had a scheduled doctor's appointment? When asked if I wanted to reschedule, my obvious answer was "no, thanks." Unfortunately I am very aggravated. Again, hope the salesperson is well, but shame on Empire for not doing anything more to attempt to get someone to replace that person to make it to a scheduled appointment after I waited for 3 hours.

I was happy with my first experience with Empire, so I came back and for the second time I had them install indoor carpeting for the new condo that I bought. Their prices were reasonable and I'm happy with the product. Although there was a little bit of a snafu between what the salesman told me and what they ended up doing. When the salesman made the deal, I asked if it was an option to keep the laminate flooring. A salesman will tell you anything to make the sale, so they told me that I could and they could put the carpeting on top of it. So I agreed to the contract.

But when the installers came to do the installation, they said that they couldn't do it and they explained the whole thing to me. They said that if I wanted the carpet, I've got to let them rip the floor out, but they'll do that at no charge. Technically, I'm not supposed to pay them to rip out the old flooring even though it was brand new. They probably would have had that added in and they budgeted somehow for a couple of hours of the installers' work. They made some phone calls and somebody called me. Faced with an ultimatum, I agreed to let them rip out the laminate flooring. I wanted it done on the day that they told me they were going to install the carpeting, and they did everything. It was a surprise, and nobody likes surprises, but they did a good job. They did a beautiful job in laying down the carpet.

The only complaint that I have now is that when my girlfriend came over, she stepped on the floor and it squeaked. So, she told me, "Why didn't you have them fix the squeaks before they put the carpet down?" The problem was with the floor. It's probably a 40-year-old building. They probably could have told me to hire a carpenter to fix the squeaks in the floor before laying down the carpet.

They also left me the carpet remnants. I asked them for the scraps, especially because I'm doing a lot of moving and I want to protect what's there and use these as floor mats for the delivery guys. So overall, I'm very happy with Empire. They were reasonable and they worked out the issues in an agreeable fashion. In fact, I would call them up again. If somebody would ask me where to get a carpet, I would recommend them.

It was an excellent experience all around.

I've seen Empire Today's work before. It was very impressive and the price was right. They installed the laminate flooring at my retirement place, everywhere except in our bathroom. I like that it's an easy upkeep. I have a dog that sheds so I could just run the sweeper over it really fast. It's very nice at that respect and it suited my needs perfectly. The new flooring is delightful and I love it. All in all, it's a very good experience and I have recommended Empire Today to my friends.

I had hardwood floor in the living room installed by Empire Today and I'm satisfied with the work that they did. But some of the nails around the edges was coming up and I did call them. They tacked it back down but it seemed like they're coming back up. It also seemed to me that they should have put some wood glue down instead of the nails. But outside of that, I love the floor. It didn't take them long to do it and I'm pleased with my overall experience. And if I had to do it again, I would probably call on Empire again.

Overall process was hassle-free, meeting the saleslady for guidance on my needs and scheduling and keeping the appointment for installation. I will do further business with Empire! Good job and thanks.

Empire sent a carpet installer out to fix nails that were left in the carpet. Also, Empire is going to give a credit on account to pay for the carpet to be cleaned.

    Original Review: April 2, 2017

We had a terrible experience with Empire Carpet installation. They were supposed to come in the morning for installation and did not arrive for several hours later. The installers tore my daughter's curtain. Also, the installers did not completely tapped down the nails so in numerous places nails are sticking up. Also, we have discovered carpet beetles in our house which were evidently dormant in January on the new carpet that Empire installed but now that it is warmer, the beetles have hatched.

We have had pest control company come out twice and the pest control technician said that the beetles probably came in on the new carpet from the warehouse that it was located at. I informed Empire of this situation and they take no responsibility for this situation. The Empire carpet installers also left the carpet on my driveway prior to installing so various bugs could have been brought in to my house. Empire has the worst customer service. For us to spend over $7,000 we did not want carpet beetles in our house.

We had 7 rooms, 2 stairways with 3 landings, and a long hallway carpeted by Empire Today. We took the initiative to order a high quality padding and a high quality carpet product to have installed into our home by Empire Today. We were very happy with the outcome of our new flooring for approximately a year. We began to notice that the carpet started to buckle in 5 of the seven rooms. As months passed, more and more buckling has occurred. There are only 2 residents in our home, myself and my husband so there is little wear on the carpet. Even if there were an entire family here, newly installed carpeting should not buckle in so many rooms if it were installed properly. We have contacted Empire Today to no avail. They are not standing behind their poor installation.

Carpet installation was done when it was supposed to be, in a timely manner. However, because they try to fit in as many jobs as possible in a day, they rushed. Carpet looks ok now, hope it lasts. They worked in such a hurry, damage was done to my stainless steel refrigerator, one door scratched up as they were bringing in carpet. Things happen, but trying to talk to customer service about the damage was a joke. Several weeks of not getting back to me, ignoring my messages and emails. Was finally resolved, but not fairly in my opinion, as I now have a damaged refrigerator. Will NEVER use Empire again!

My carpet installation had to be rescheduled twice times. Once was due to rain, which might be understandable, but the second time, the installers said they needed more men to move the furniture (there were 3). When yet another crew came several days later, there were only 2 men and they moved all the furniture without blinking an eye. So, my family was inconvenienced for over a week - 1 bathroom, books removed from bookcases & stacked in the tub, etc - because the installers just didn't want to work. I also had hardwood put down in the kitchen. That installer said the cabinets over the fridge had to be raised to put the floor in; we removed all the dishes from the cabinet & then he said he would not raise it. Therefore, there is hardwood only around my fridge & I am going to have to pay someone to finish that job. I will never use your company again.

I decided to use Empire Today because it's fast and convenient and they could do it in a short period of time. I had carpet installed in the main floor and the family room. It was fine but they had to come back because it wasn't tightened up and tucked down enough. It's edged by hardwood and hard to get in there tight and the carpet was working up on the sides with little threads that look like they were coming out here and there. But the carpet and the padding are nice and the plush is thicker. As soon as I had a problem, I called and they were out the next day so it's good. I'd recommend them.

The installer did not put the upstairs toilet back in correctly, so it leaked through the floor, through the ceiling (which just was freshly painted) & then on the floor downstairs, buckling the brand new laminate that you all just installed! And they damaged my kitchen cabinets, taking up my old kitchen floor, & put a hole in the lower wall in the laundry room, also taking the old floor! And there are other areas of buckling throughout the living room & dining room! One of your inspectors came by & he saw everything, took pictures, & said he would report the incidents to home office! Always seeing the catchy commercials on tv and being skeptical with the deals shown we decided to make an appointment with a salesman from Empire. When the salesman arrived not only was he very educated with all the different types of carpet but he knew exactly what we wanted and he knew we had a budget set. At last our skepticism was gone, the only thing left was the delivery and installation. When the installation crew arrived they were very kind and courteous. Moving our items with care keeping in mind we had a sleeping infant. With me being a perfectionist I could not believe my eyes! In the short amount of time they were here, they were finished! The project was to remove old carpeting and install new carpeting in the bedroom, laminate wood flooring in living room, dining room, kitchen and replace baseboard throughout to match existing in bathroom. The carpeting crew showed up quite late, after 6pm. The warehouse sent two styles of baseboard with the carpeting crew, one that matched existing but was not enough to replace all the baseboard in the bedroom. The carpet installers said they would tell the supervisor and that the laminate installers would do the installation. The carpet crew was surprised they had large furniture to move as did the laminate crew the next day. This was clearly discussed with the salesman.

I called the customer service number that afternoon to express my concern with the baseboard issue and they indicated that that would be passed on to the supervisor. The laminate crew was surprised that the baseboard issue was not resolved by the carpet crew. They knew nothing about the issues of the first day. They called the warehouse and they were told that the type of baseboard was no longer available.

The installation of the laminate was very good as was the carpet installation, there were details that were not included or followed up by the people that should follow up on such items. The laminate crew, Garcia Brothers, covered for the carpet crew and the warehouse crew. They went to the warehouse and found the correct baseboard that the warehouse claimed was no longer available. They installed the baseboard as requested throughout the property, covering for the carpet crew. The carpet crew did not install a transition piece from carpet to wood where the two materials met in a doorway. I purchased a strip and the laminate crew installed it.

The laminate crew really went above and beyond to provide customer service that was expected. They covered for shortcomings by the salesman, the carpet crew, the warehouse crew, the crew supervisor and everyone involved to point that the end result is satisfactory and the customer is pleased. The Garcia Brothers deserve special recognition within the company.
