We recently had a new living room floor put in by Empire Today. The installers left such a mess in our home... it took us 2 days to clean up the grout. They used my guest bathroom and made such a mess. I suggested they use the faucet with a hose next to the house for water but they did not speak any English so we could not communicate with them. We tried. Since the horrible episode which was May 26th and now is June 2nd we still cannot get a hold of Empire. We have left 5 or 6 messages and no one will call us back. It is amazing how fast they call you back before you make a order but they cannot call us back for a follow up.

I had an appointment to have an estimate to replace my carpets with laminate. When Chris arrived I asked him to take his shoes off as I have white carpets and had just vacuumed. He refused, he said, "What does it matter. You are replacing carpets." I said, "It matters to me, if you want to do the estimate then you need to take off your shoes". He then said, "No I won't do that" and he left. I am shocked at the disrespect and lack of consideration of our property. If the salesman had that type of attitude then I can't imagine what the installers would be like. I emailed the customer service department right after he left but they haven't even bothered to contact me. Obviously this is not a concern to them.

We looked around at a couple of different stores but a neighbor had used Empire Today and recommended them. We had them install the carpeting in our home. We started off with a set of stairs. We liked the carpet so much so we had them come back out to have a quote and do an entire second landing, another set of stairs and then into our master bedroom. It's so soft and we love the color which which we got throughout the whole house and we love it. We had to stay neutral because our house is up for sale. The service is great. The service and product are great and we love them.

On May 8th an Empire salesman came to our home. I wanted laminate or engineered hardwood that would match our downstairs existing engineered hardwood. We found an acceptable match of laminate and even decided to have it installed in our master bedroom even though it maxed out our budget. The installers arrived on May 13. The 1st thing that we were told was that the supplies needed for the stairs would not be in until the following Tuesday. They also collected the entire payment for our flooring. They installed the laminate in the master and hallway - leaving "temporary" moulding and made modifications to our door jams & top stair in preparation for the rest of the install. They left telling us that we would get a call when the rest of the flooring came in on Tuesday and they could return that week to finish the install.

We received no call so a call was placed to Empire and after much confusion - We were told that the installers would come an May 19th to finish. On May 18 we got a call from our salesman saying that the laminate that we picked out could not be put on the stairs!! He would come by the next day to bring samples to find a match for the stairways. On May 19 our salesman brought samples of hardwood that did not even come close to a match. Our options were to pay 1/2 of the cost of the hardwood ($3600 to be split with the salesman contribution) because he admitted that he made the mistake - or to put carpet on the stairs. We did not agree to either option and were told that a manager from Empire would be calling to resolve the problem. We never received a call.

On May 22 we called customer service and again confusion. We requested to have an installation manager come out to our home. On 5/23 the installation manager came & we looked at more samples - engineered hardwood this time that was a closer match. We were told that the cost would be $5000 extra!! The only other she gave us was carpet. This was not acceptable and we asked that we either get the stairs done to our satisfaction and no extra cost or we want all of our money refunded - that Empire could remove what they had already installed and we would start over with another company. The manager said that she would give this message to corporate.

On 5/26 still no call from corporate. We placed a call to customer service and we were told that we would get a response in 24 hours. No call received - on 5/27 another call was placed. We were told due to the holiday weekend we would not get a call until 5/30 - no call received so on the evening of 5/30 another call was placed. We were told that we would get a response 1st thing in the morning. On 5/31 around noon another call was placed to customer service. We were told that we would get a response that afternoon. At 7pm one last call was made to customer service. He said that the manager (Lori **) has been assigned to the issue but they stop returning calls after 4. I asked if I should start with legal proceedings and he said to do what I have to do to get the issue resolved.

So - Empire has over $6800 of ours & we don't have our flooring. They don't even have the decency to return our calls or to try to resolve their mistake. Don't let this happen to you! Empire is only concerned with getting your money and then you can forget about their customer service afterwards. At this point we have no choice but to put out more money to hire a lawyer.

I had carpet installed by Empire Today in the living room, dining area, and bedroom. Empire had a sale at that time and I got the burgundy. The carpet seems okay, but the only thing is it doesn’t seem like the better carpet. This is what I paid though because I got samples. It's stain-resistant but I don't think this is stain-resistant. But so far, it has met my expectations because I'm here alone. I'm the one mostly walking on it and it has no damage. However, I can open it up and see down inside of it. I had carpet before and never could I see down inside of it like this. You got to be careful and make sure this is what you want. You got to check it out and see because, with the sampler, you don’t see it like it is when they bring it out and put it on the floor.

After selecting the type of flooring and securing financing, on the day of the install the installer came out and look confuse and began to give me reasons as to why he couldn't do the install which made no sense. Through his broken English and my pretty good Spanish it still made no sense because we had already had the house level and had other work done recently... I then got a call from Empire to whom which did not seem to explain clearly why he couldn't do the install (probably because she didn't really understand herself). He then left. I then call a man I knew who did flooring installation for almost 50 years but retire because of his hands... He came over in about an hour and said he himself could not understand what the guy was talking about. He should have been able to install it. Will never use or recommend Empire.

Our initial sales call went great and the sales department was very helpful. We were scheduled to start on May 8. Received a call that the tile was not available so they wouldn't start until the next day. May 9 begins with a phone call the installers are delayed. Finally show up and started at 11:30. The tiles are unevenly spaced, some raised higher than others, grout missing in large areas, and some of the tiles have stains that I can't remove. After several unanswered phone calls and a few with the installation department I got someone to come to fix the floor.

Meanwhile still waiting for a date to install carpet. It is now May 30 and after getting a call at 6:30am stating a pm installation, no one called or showed up. I tried 3 times to speak to anyone and finally canceled the job. So now I have beautiful wood tile that looks terrible in some places and no carpet. My house had been torn up since May 8. Just a phone call and updates would have been wonderful. Customer service for installation needs help.

After choosing a "high quality wood flooring" the engineered hardwood from Mohawk, that is sold by Empire, (and cost us $10,000) it took less than 2 years for flooring to get damaged. There are numerous scratches and digs in the floor. Customer service was contacted early this year (2017). We had a representative come to the house to take photos. He was supposed to get in touch with us within 10 days or so. After not hearing from in 5 weeks, I left several messages that were never returned. I contact customer service who was then supposed to have another rep contact us. I finally had to call and ask for a supervisor.

We finally had the original installers come out. We showed them one area in particular that has some very deep gouges. He told us we should "hear back either today or Monday". This was weeks ago. I called the installer, he gave me another name & number. I called and left a message and still have not heard anything. I am worn out from being on hold and just having to call constantly. We just added a new room and will need flooring. We will NOT go with Empire. Also, my in-laws, who want wood flooring and were thinking of going with Empire, have changed their minds after seeing our floors.

We hired Empire Today to replace vinyl in three bathrooms. The salesman was great, the vinyl looked good and the salesman reassured us the installers they hire were the best. First lesson learned. Empire Today is a BROKER... as a consumer you have no idea who you're getting for installers so you can't look for reviews or references.

Two men, only one could speak English, and a truck came and tried to convince us not to remove the baseboards and the old ripped linoleum. Major communication issues with broken English and what we had requested which was to have the installers remove the baseboards and remove old ripped vinyl. I wanted the vinyl put in properly as we requested. They removed the baseboards and some of the old vinyl. I was left with 1/4 of the baseboards broken and clumsily put back together, my bedroom carpeting with some kind of stains, one bathroom door doesn't open and close over the two layers of vinyl.

They also did not know how to remove our toilets, spilling gallons of water everywhere and one toilet had to be fixed and one of their staples left behind got embedded in my heel. When I called to complain and request some kind of compensation I was met with no apologies, very unconcerned, and told it was in my 4 page contract that if damages occur it's mine to deal with.

Bottom line the company sells a good product but you have no knowledge of the experience of the installers. I will never use or recommend Empire Today... be aware consumers... after spending $2,000. I was left with the expense of new baseboards, a new door, carpet cleaning and my husband fixed the toilet... and the company doesn't care.

I called your customer service line 5/27/2017 at 6:49 pm Pacific time and spoke with David who stated that he notified my area of the cancellation. He would not provide an email address to send the document to your company. He told me that a representative would contact me. I don't find that necessary. The cancellation email address should be provided immediately. This delays the 3-day cancellation policy and puts an additional burden on the customer. The email could be sent today and we would be done with it. My sales guy was terrific. His name was Elan **. He was very helpful and knowledgeable.

    Updated review: Feb. 13, 2018

So a supervisor / manager did contact me shortly thereafter. He apologized for the experience and let me know I could contact him at any time to work out a fair arrangement.

I procrastinated on getting the floor done for almost a year, and didn't still have his information, as I thought I wouldn't want to go to Empire when I did decide to get my floor done.

But in thinking about that final offer of $2,000, I decided that wasn't over priced with underlayment and labor to go along with the viynl flooring.
And it would just be less hassle than buying the materials and finding cheaper labor or doing it myself.

Plus, I did not realize Empire provides a lifetime warranty on the product, which is very comforting.

So I had a new Empire consultant out yesterday, and explained our situation and experience the first time.

He laughed and nodded as he understood the entire process we went through and showed us step by step on his tablet how it works.

    Very nice guy.

Showed us how it tells him to first ask for the first price we were qouted ($6,700), and worked it's way down to $2,000 in exactly the same manner.

I still think it's pretty shady how much the company tries to over charge initially, but think our final offer is a very fair deal after all.

I'm having them out this morning to finally get my floor installed.

I will not update again unless there is bad service, otherwise know everything went smoothly, as I think it probably will.

Changing rating from 1 star to 4.

Just know not to get grossly over charged.

    Original Review: May 28, 2017

I wanted to get a estimate about vinyl flooring for my basement and carpeting for the stairs. The salesman seemed nice enough, and I realize he is trying to make a living. But Empire advertises free in home estimates. Well after he measured the square footage and showed us some samples, that's when he got ugly. First he quoted us a ridiculous price of $6,700 to do the 300 square foot basement. When I said, "Okay, well I had no idea what it would cost, and Empire won't give me a rough idea over the phone, so I made the appointment for the free estimate, but that is way out of my price range". So he said, "How much were you looking to spend?" I said, "I had no idea in mind, but was hoping to be down in the $1,000 range at the most."

He then acted like he was getting permission from his boss on the phone to "give me a great deal". Said he could offer me a 68% discount, totaling $2,400 with a no interest payment plan. I apologized for wasting his time, but told him sorry, I just can't afford it. He repeated he get permission from his boss show and offered me the same deal at a total of $2,000. Both times, these deals were contingent upon me signing up now. Because he's doing me a huge favor, and time is money, and my dad saying that we should not sign because the materials and labor add up to much less still. The salesman, "Kirk", got frustrated and used the term old school to basically convey that my dad is an old timer who doesn't understand the way the business works now.

My dad convinced me not to sign. I thought I was being offered a great deal. He told me, "Anytime they say this price is only good if you sign now, do not do it." That convinced me finally not to be swayed into signing. The sign now only deal then became available for the rest of the day, as Kirk realized he wasn't going to get me to sign, then the deal became available at any time, "just for me". I went with my dad to Home Depot after, found the same flooring I liked at 90 cents a square foot with his senior discount off of a dollar a square foot. So between the flooring, the primer, matting for under the flooring... materials will run me around $350.

So my question to Kirk and Empire Carpeting would be, first the labor was going to be $6,350, then $2,050, then $1,650. Even at $1,650 for installing 300 square feet of vinyl flooring, you are grossly trying to rip your customers off. I thought calling such a well established company that has been in business for so long would not have been such a disturbing experience. Which is why I'm surprised to see so many great reviews for Empire. It must be a combination of people who care not about price and people who have no idea how much they overpaid, is all I can think.

I called several places, but Empire Today was the only one that talked to me on a Saturday afternoon and scheduled a person to come out Monday. Everybody else waited until Monday or Tuesday to even call me back. I had hardwood installed in my master bedroom. It was in our price range and they could do it in the timeframe that we needed. The color is great and they're easy upkeep. They're better than my original hardwood in the rest of my house and they were factory finished unlike the others.

The people we worked with were very professional and the guys that came in were very nice and worked on what they needed to do and got it done. It was a good experience. A lot of times when you're putting in hardwood, you have insulation under it, but our garage doesn’t have any. Naturally if you're putting in hardwood and you're putting in nails, there were splinters everywhere, and I showed that to the installer. But he said, “No problem. We can still sweep this. We'll clean it up before we leave.” And they did.

I am a repeat customer of Empire. I have had a complete home done in carpet with them in the past. I was very happy. Was being the key word here. I recently had them come out to give me an estimate for two rooms in the same carpet just in a different color. All seemed good during the sales portion. We decided on a high end carpet being that we were only doing two rooms. The delivery time and install went good up until the second room was being installed. This is where everything started to go bad. The installers noticed that the first room the carpet seemed more plush that the lighter around room. I heard them talking about it in Spanish. I asked the installer if it was the same carpet, he replied that it was. He did not know that I understood Spanish. He finished up and was vacuuming the second room when he told me that I now noticed that it did look like a cheaper carpet. In my mind I'm thinking cheap rental home carpet.

The yarn was noticeably shorter by a good 1/4 inch. Both rooms had Empire's highest recommended padding. I was not happy with the carpet in the second room at all. They called and set up a follow up visit from the sales department. He came out a week or so later. We came to the conclusion that it was in fact a lesser quality carpet but that it was what was sold to me. I strongly disagreed. The sales guy told the problem back to Empire to resolve the problem. It took me calling back to see what was going to be done. I had to leave a message. That was 3 months ago. I have been calling and leaving messages (4 in total with no response). For now I will leave that person's name out.

Other than calling BBB and Empire Carpet Corp I'm not sure what to do. I ran across ConsumerAffairs and thought I would see if I get a response before I go that route. So for anyone reading this buyer beware. I know they can do better at resolving customer problems. I think I am just not a priority for them now. I think, they think, I'm going away. I hope someone gets in contact with me. So as of now they get only 1 star until they resolve this issue with me.

I have a relative who is in the carpeting business who promised for 10 years to do it and he never did. Then Empire was having this big sale, so I had them install carpeting in my living room and two bedrooms. The cost was fine and the installers came in and did it exactly when they said they were going to do. They were very quick, efficient and got the whole thing done in just a few hours. However, I was not happy with the color. A lady came with several samples and I was down on my hands and knees trying to match it with the tile. I had one that matched but after they put it in, in a different light, it didn’t match what I wanted though it goes with the paneling and it’s in there now so I learned to love it.

Another thing is that it happened so fast and I felt really pressured. The lady said if I didn’t do it today then, I wouldn’t get the sale. And my daughter was not here to help me so I did it. The sale was still on a few days later so they should’ve given me a couple of days to think about it and give me the same deal. That's the thing I didn't like. If I recommend it to somebody, I would tell them, “If you’re gonna call Empire, don’t let them rush you into it. Don’t let them say, ‘If you don’t do it today, you don’t get the discount,’ ‘cause it’s not true, I found out.”

I agreed reluctantly, but I did change the scheduling date. The worse to come was notified by voicemail as of three days prior to installation date that the order was placed closed due to the length of time regarding the original date to install carpet. I agreed, he placed the samples on his trunk of his car, full morning sun I saw no yellow hues or was told there would be any. The carpet color I saw was a light gray without any hues. Hope this helps others. Very sad and disappointed customer. I paid approx $1995.00 for yellow, dingy streaked GREY carpet.

Needless to say my fridge died and I bought another very recently, I contacted empire and they were more than happy to come out and finish the job??? Empire stands behind their products. Work on your coordination, people. Luis and Antonio were very courteous and worked very hard to get the job done in one day. Empire Today installed our carpet and flooring at home. I like that the floors look stain resistant and mine's gray. You can drag a chair across it and it won't scratch. Also, when they put the carpet in, they were really nice. They moved stuff around. So, I was very content. Then, they cleaned up after themselves before they left. But, I've been waiting for somebody to call me about my account. They said that I owed them some more money and I had made one check out to Empire. Then, nobody told me I needed two separate checks, one for the floor and one for the carpet. I talked to their customer service rep a couple of days ago and they were supposed to get back with me. Other than that, I would recommend Empire Today. I'd tell my family and friends to come and look at my floor. They're gorgeous.

I am very disappointed with Empire Today and here is my reason. I have used them twice before in two of my previous homes. My last experience was back in 2012. Both times I had a good experience with Empire, from a smooth sales appointment to the installation with no problem. I was looking to change my carpet this time around in my Airbnb property because my previous carpet was ruined by some paint and I can't rent it out until it's replaced. I called Empire because I was familiar with the service and had received good service before. This time around, I felt like I was working with a low-level disorganized company.

First the salesman came out to my home and showed me different options. The one I liked was above my budget so I told him that I will compare with other companies. I received a call from a sales rep to find out why I did not move forward with the sale and she convinced me to take a look at 3 specific carpets that would fit in the price range before I go with another company. I agreed and a sales appointment was made. I had to reschedule my initial appointment and when the sales appointment was met, a new salesman came to my house.

This guy didn't have a clue about which carpets the phone salesperson and I had discussed nor was he aware of the price range we discussed as well. He ended up showing me everything all over again and I ended up just making a decision on a carpet because I was just ready to get it done. My financing was with Fortiva was confirmed and I was assured I would have 2 people to help move my furniture and working on my carpet.

Before installation, I called customer service to confirm my order and financing through Fortiva. When the subcontractor came to install my carpet, he came alone. He was ready for a full payment for installation because he apparently did not get the memo on my financing, though I had confirmed it with Empire multiple times. He called customer service and they did not have any of my financing information either. They told me I would have to call Fortiva myself to confirm my own financing! I almost cancelled my entire installation because it did not seem like my needs as a customer was going to be met after my experience thus far.

After a while, they were able to reach my salesman and he confirmed my financing. The subcontractor finally started and I helped him move my own furniture despite being told there would be 2 people to do it. The actual installation was going well until the subcontractor ran out of carpet. Empire did not give him enough carpet to complete the project! This was last Thursday. I was told that someone would call me to confirm if they could come out on Friday within 24 hours to complete it. I had to call myself only for them to tell me that I could not finish the installation until Monday. Not only did I miss work to be at home on Thursday and Friday but I also could not rent my property out over the weekend because I have mismatched carpet!

Today is Monday and I missed work again to be at home and did not receive a call in the morning. I called Empire around 11am this morning and this afternoon at 4pm to see if a subcontractor is going to come out and finish my carpet, and I was told both times that no one could be reached to confirm. I still have no confirmation on when my carpet will be completed and I am losing money by the day! If I had known that I would have to deal with this, I would have used a cheaper, local company and gotten more attention as a customer. I am very disappointed and highly doubt I will use or refer Empire services again.

I came home to sign off the project and I made them put the excess laminate in my garage. This company won't work with handicapped stairlift people. Even though when the Stairlift company stated any reputable company could bring the carpet down the stairs and screwing the screws back into the brackets. We feel discriminated against because of our stairlift. The sales person was the greatest I've seen in some time. She tried everything she could do to get her manager to allow installation by her company. She gets 5 Stars from me.

UPDATED ON 08/07/2017: We ordered a sales inquiry. Tela showed for the appointment. The stairway became an issue due to the stairlift. The sales call was terminated by Patrick, her supervisor. I made a complaint to the BBB about not working with handicapped people. I called Tela back out and ordered over 10K of merchandise from this company. I spoke with Tela about moving furniture for us since my wife can't get around very well and I'm on social security disability. She stated she charged us money in the contract to move furniture. She asked me to remove the complaint about Empire not working with the stairlift. I told her it was the truth, she stated Patrick said he's been on the phone all morning about this stairlift. He'll pay 1/2 the cost to remove and replace if I tell them the problem was resolved.

We scheduled 3 different install dates due to our health issues. The first date was all hardwood, vinyl, and tile flooring. The install was great, thank you Brian and your professional team. The second install date was living room down stairs plus 3 bedrooms upstairs. That install happened according to schedule. The third install was the huge man cave plus the upstairs hallway and the landing and stairwell, here is where stuff started going south fast. The door jams were cut at an angle and part of the hallway was cut at some angle other than straight. The downstairs step instead of a tack strip had like 100 staples across the bottom step.

We called. Got no response. I emailed the company with pictures and got no response. Finally I called the 800 number and they put me in touch with a very nice lady. She told me that she would send Rick ** on Thursday morning a week from us talking to evaluate the situation. Rick came in, looked around and said, "You need a total redo on the bedroom closets and hallway, also the bottom step needs to be redone." We were like we got to move all this stuff again? He apologized and said, "Yes sir." Thank you Rick for being a straight shooter. Rick left and we waited.

A week later a lady called me and said they found carpet of the same lot as what was installed. Would Monday be ok to install the hallway. I said, "Sure as long as the color matched." Rick ** showed up and took a piece of carpet upstairs to match, it didn't come close. He called his company and told me he'll be back when the carpet was in. We finally got the 3 bedrooms, closets, and the hallway and bottom step replaced. However nothing on the broken furniture or 1/2 cost of stairlift.

I talked to Tela and told her not to jeopardize her job for standing up to Patrick. I've heard nothing on this matter from Empire management. I believe that they owe for the headboard stand costing $199.00 plus 1/2 the cost of the stairlift removal and replacement which works out to $87.50. We have called so many time to speak with Patrick that it's just become redundant. Additionally, our original cost included grout in the kitchen. When we found out that we wouldn't be able to walk on it for 12 hours, we opted to go groutless. Tela assured us that it would be a refund on our account.

We bought a wall-to-wall carpet from Empire Today and it was installed in the sunroom, dining room, living room and hallway of our house. It was on sale and I like that it’s pet-proof, which helps a lot. It’s beige and a nice light carpet. However, I wish the installation would have gone better. The salesman gave me a couple of different dates. Then the installers never called or showed up, and I stayed home all day.

Now when they finally came, they put in the metal strip in the doorway between the hallway and the tile floor bathroom. They've beaten the nails in and cracked the grout in a couple of places. It's pretty wide which was probably 3/8ths of 1 inch by 1 inch long and the length was about 9 by 9, like the whole length of one towel. I noticed that a few days later and it wasn't that way before. The men were here all day and they were nice but I never expected them to crack that grout.

I called the Better Business Bureau and asked about the company. BBB said that Empire Today has a C rating and got a bunch of complaints, which I wish I’d have done that before I got the carpet in. I’m waiting to hopefully get this resolved and I’m in the process of getting hold of somebody, and we’ve been calling back and forth. I was supposed to get an estimate on it and mail it to a lady and then we’re gonna go from there. Other than that, everything was good.

Purchased what I was told was a pet friendly laminate floor. Any liquid that comes in contact with flooring leaks underneath the flooring and causes warping regardless of clean up time. I was willing to accept that it was a Shoddy material, "buyer beware" but then I spilled a glass of water on the floor cleaned it up right away and it warped. That is when I decided it couldn't hurt to see if anything could be done. Had Empire come out to assess. I was told it was site related, meaning I did not clean it up in time. This was not true. All spills were cleaned up in a timely fashion.

Then they had a secondary party come out to assess the situation. I was told they found moisture under the flooring and again this was site related. They claim it was not cleaned up again but did not find any pet urine residuals or spill stains on the surface under black light. This proves my point that everything that spilled on my supposed pet friendly was cleaned up in a timely fashion. Very disappointed in how this was handled but still hopeful for a resolution. Empire needs to stand behind their claims and not try to blame the customer for a poor product.

Unfortunately I did not have a wonderful experience with Empire Today. My experience had been a long and painful one for 8 months. Had laminate wood floors installed throughout house - living room, kitchen, hallway, and carpet - stairs, hallway, and master bedroom. Installers showed up around 11am (late start for a big job) and did not finish until 10:30 pm. Instead of completing job in 2 days they squeezed into 1. After they left my husband and I spent at least 2 hours cleaning up nails, debris, and dust. We could not let our children walk on the floors. In the master bedroom we noticed that our ceiling fan had been ripped out of the ceiling and wired up. Our walls had major dings and dirty black handprints throughout the house and one of the closets. They forgot to install the carpet. The molding at the long straight walls were in piecework. Instead of using one straight piece, 2 were placed together. Using the scraps to make one.

The next day we noticed the driveway had piles of nails and debris that should have been cleaned up but since it was dark out when the installers left, they could not do this. I called my sales rep and she gave me the 1-800 number and said they would handle it. After sending several photos, I was given a $200 check for my new fan. However my newly painted walls were not covered as I was told that is in the contract. Had to have them come back to install carpet, another day my husband had to take off. The installer said he could not do the molding as it was not his area. I decided to leave it as is. Shortly after the install we noticed that one area in our living room the floor was starting to cave in. You could see when walked on, the floor sink. We had the sales rep back at the house, after several attempts getting her there. She stated that she would put in a service call. After 2 weeks and not getting a call, I had to call myself.

An inspector had to come and "inspect: the area. It was determined that the floor needed to be removed and fixed. We scheduled a day and unfortunately the installer that came did not have the correct material. Another day my husband took off and issue not resolved. Following week, an installer showed up but we were never called and informed the day before and therefore were not at home. Another week went by. Finally, installer came and fixed the floor. However, the molding they took off was thrown back on wall with more nail holes added and caulking dripping all over. One section of the floor was loose and when stepped on you seen it move up and down. My paint that was touched up from original install was now chipped AGAIN. And to boot my closet door in the living room was taken off and the bottom hinge was taken off. After several calls to Empire Today's install department leaving messages I never got a callback.

The manager that I was told to speak with, and who I did speak with the first time, her mailbox was full and could not leave messages. Tia ** would not get on the phone with me. By this time, another section of the floor was caving. Speaking through a customer service sales rep, Tia replied a message that they would come and fix floor and molding. I stayed at home and had to stand over the installers and watch them. They ripped up the floor and had to fix the issues. They fixed all the molding but banged up my walls again. I will need to get them repainted again. I had to wipe down dirty black handprints off my walls and have the installers adjust my closet door. I have never experienced such a horrible home improvement. I felt that the installers were not professional and did not care for my personal items. I would not and will not recommend Empire Today to anyone. I should have went to a mom and pop shop locally.

In April of 2017, we contacted Empire regarding our floors. They sent a salesman out who showed us a few samples of flooring. We selected laminate for 2 small front rooms and lvt for our kitchen and laundry room. We were told it could be installed that week. We were unavailable until the following Monday. The salesman told us this would be a 1-2 day job for all the rooms. The installers came and as they were installing the laminate, they were concerned that they would not have enough material to finish the job.

They tried to finish but had the wrong transition pieces for the floor. They said they couldn't finish until they got them. The quarter round pieces were pieced together which looks very unappealing. They were supposed to come and finish the kitchen and laundry room but said the material was not in. They told us this for 2 weeks after they canceled appointments due to lack of materials. We canceled the kitchen and laundry room floors because of this.

I have contacted Empire several times and was assured by someone (won't mention his name) that "he had my back." "You don't need to contact anyone else because I got you covered. I will take care of you." The installation of all floors began on April 24, 2017 and was supposed to be done April 25. It is now May 17, 2017 and we are still waiting for them to contact us. In the meantime, I have requested a full refund. I will never use this company again and will never recommend them to anyone. I have seen a lot of reviews on this site that have or have had the same problems I am having. I have yet to touch the floors with anything, in case someone actually shows up to look at them. It says on the bottom of this form to attach a receipt, but we were never given one. We weren't given anything.

Updated on 05/24/2017: After a month of back and forth emails, phone calls, etc. Empire finally sent the installers back to us to "finish" the work. They were supposed to send quarter rounds long enough for our small rooms, but did not. This resulted in unsightly piecing of the quarter rounds on all walls of the rooms. They do not tell you the cost of materials. How do you know you are getting 50/50/50? They never tell you the original price!

My friends told me that Emire Today's quality of work is good. So, I've had them install a laminate flooring to replace the carpet on the second floor. There are three bedrooms, one hallway then stairs, three closets and one bathroom on that floor and they did an excellent job with the installation. Although, I'm not really happy with the price since I'm a single mom. My husband passed away and it was too much for me to pay. I like the design and the color is light brown. I asked the one who came to our house, John, if laminate flooring is better than hardwood. He suggested and advised me to have this laminate flooring because it is more durable and stronger than hardwood. I'm really impressed with the Empire workers. They are really good and polite. They came on time and then they did well. I highly recommend Empire to my friends.

4 years ago Empire Today replaced all our flooring - over $8000 worth. I called them last week to get some replacement vinyl because we are remodeling our bathroom. The woman took all the information about the product I needed and said someone would get back to me. Today, I received a call from Ashley **, Branch Accountant. She said Empire Today doesn't sell product without installing it.

I said, "Fine. You can install it. I need about a foot of flooring because we are replacing the tub with a smaller tub." Ashley put me on hold. 5 seconds later she was back and said her Assistant Manager just told her my product was discontinued. I asked to speak to her Assistant Manager and she told me he doesn't speak to customers. I questioned that and she told me he couldn't come to the phone because he was in the middle of teaching a class. This seems like a BIG SCAM to me. If you decide to do business with Empire Today be sure you get enough extra material for repairs and minor replacements. If Empire can't hook you on a big enough repair/replacement job, they will blow you off altogether.

One of their carpet installers came out and reviewed the installation and made the decision to replace all of the carpet on our stairs, bedrooms, and hallway. So, it was very helpful because I know nothing much about carpets. I had wanted wood and my husband wanted carpet. That would be going on for quite some time. In the end, I decided to take the carpet just for his bedroom and everywhere else is floor.

My purchasing experience was very good. Empire Today installed the carpet in the bedroom. The guys who did the installation were very reliable. When they came, they know what they're doing. They also helped to move the furniture, which I was told that they were going to do. It was a great help for me because I didn't have anybody at home to do that. They were very nice, too. The carpet is durable. It was one that wouldn't wear down too quickly and I'm happy with it.

We scheduled our installation of vinyl flooring for Sat. May 6th. We called Empire that morning of the 6th to find out that they didn't have our product ready. They didn't even bother calling us that morning. We had already disconnected our appliances and removed all items from furniture. They rescheduled for Wed. May 10th and once again, they failed to call us right away, so we called them and to find out that once again, product had not arrived. We were already without a stove since May 6th since Empire told us to turn off the gas and remove from hose. We couldn't connect it back again due to issues with hose so we ended up buying a new stove and were waiting for delivery on May 17th.

We had already given Empire a down payment and still waiting for installation. New date for installation was May 13th. By this time we were already frustrated because husband had called headquarters and he was told that they would compensate us somehow and we only got a small discount. Not worth our frustration. Had we known it would take this long, we would have not disconnected our stove. We tried calling our Empire sales rep, left him many messages, and he never returned our calls. We came very close to cancelling the whole deal and go with another company, but we figured it would add on to our frustration since we had financed this deal through Wells Fargo and didn't know what to expect from this.

Saturday, May 13th came around and the installers FINALLY showed up at 11am. We wanted this job completed in one day and assumed it would get done since there were 4 guys, but then after a couple hours I noticed that only 2 guys were working. The other 2 had left for an emergency so of course, these 2 other guys worked for 8 hours and didn't finish the job in one day. They had to return on Monday May 15th to finish. I do like the end result, but am very unhappy and disappointed with the company's customer service and sales rep. They need to get with it in regards to communication. I will demand more compensation especially since we were left without a stove and no way of cooking our meals. I will not recommend Empire to my friends and family. Too bad we didn't have many other options in our area for floor companies that offer financing.

Updated on 06/06/2017: It says that it was resolved? The only thing that got resolved was that the laminate flooring FINALLY got installed, but I never heard back from them regarding a refund for the trouble we endured. I also called them on May 31 to complain that the installers forgot to staple a section of base boards. Customer service rep said I would get a call back 1 to 3 business days to schedule the repair. It's been 4 days and no one has called me back. They have the worst customer service. I will never refer them unless they do something about my complaints.

I feel I've wasted my money and my time, and Empire should be embarrassed that they operate under such unsatisfactory conditions.

UPDATED ON 05/23/2017: This is a follow up to my earlier review. We still have an incomplete flooring install. After getting the run around, we get in touch with someone who said they will refund the cost of our install - $50. The sales part was fine. I was having my entire home carpeted and I had waited so long to be able to afford it. I went with Empire because they advertised and stress free installation and a quality product. I relied on the salesperson that the product he recommended was the best quality and that the installers would take care of moving furniture, etc.

The estimated time would be two days. Well the installers asked me what they were to do about the furniture and balked at having to move it. They put my furniture outside and fortunately got it back in before it rained. They were upset that they had to return another day because they had another job scheduled and I pointed out that I'd been told it would take two days and they finally agreed to return the next morning to finish rather than the next evening. It was not a good experience. So, that was September 2015.

6 months later I was contacting customer service about traffic patterns on the carpet. The carpet cleaners couldn't believe that this was fairly new carpet and there is only me and an occasional guest walking on it. Well customer service kept finding reasons other than carpet quality for the darkened area and never agreed to send someone out to look at it. Now in addition to that it appears that the padding is lifting under the carpet causing raised creases, first in one area and now in three. This developed shortly after the one year installation warranty expired. So I'm looking at investing in having a portion of the carpet replaced and getting the padding issue repaired. I'm disappointed with my experience and I'm not rich so I can't just have it all redone and might just have to live with it. 2 stars is generous.

Empire Today installed our carpet in one of my homes and in our rental properties. In the rentals, the carpet was everywhere except the bathroom and kitchen. I didn't have to wait three weeks for them to come and install it. Most of them took two days to install, while some of them were the next day. The carpet was the medium grade and stain-resistant. It had a color that would hide dirt and had a decent warranty. Empire Today had to come out and do one repair for a seam that has come apart. They said they were gonna look at it and decide if it was gonna be a warranty thing. They ended up just fixing it while they were there.

I've had several installations done in Anderson, Indiana area. The last one that Empire Today did was a huge 3,500 square feet house that was almost all carpet. They had a crew of four, but one of them was a girl and she left early, and they worked until 9:00 o'clock at night. The last one I did was only about 1,000 square feet and four Mexican guys came, which were the same guys that did one of my earlier houses. They had the whole house done in a couple of hours. There were three large bedrooms where the carpet had to be installed in my house in Oregon. The guy that came out to install the carpet was a little old Mexican man that didn't speak English, and he had to lug carpet up the stairs and install everything by himself. He worked until 9:00 o'clock at night. He needed to have more help.

I decided to purchase carpeting from Empire for my home. I chose them because of the convenience. I had purchased carpeting and flooring from Luna which I now understand is owned by Empire. When the salesperson came I explained to him that I was very disappointed with my carpet because of its condition. I had purchased the carpet from Luna in 2006 and I felt that the salesperson had sold me inferior carpeting because after 9 years the carpeting had deteriorated. It looked awful especially in the high traffic areas. I explained to him that I wanted a high quality carpet that would look good for a longer period of time. I thought this would probably be the last time I would be purchasing carpet for my home since my husband and I are in our 70's.

I purchased the carpeting in February, 2015 during a sales promotion for a 50% discount. The salesperson quoted a ridiculous amount for my 1700 sq ft home but brought it down to a reasonable amount for the high quality and better padding I thought I was purchasing. When the installers came in April of 2015 they did an excellent job if moving furniture and installing the carpet.

The one thing that I have appreciated and the reason I chose to purchase from Empire is because I have received excellent service from Empire and Luna's installers. Also I thought I was receiving their best padding and carpeting. Now 2 years later, I am very sorry that I had not educated myself and did more research on carpet purchases. I asked the salesperson several times about the quality of the carpeting and he assured me that I was getting the best Empire had to offer. Unfortunately I was an easy sale because I trusted the salesperson to be honest and now I feel that I was scammed.

When my carpet was first installed it was beautiful it felt good and looked good. There was quite a bit of shedding but I thought that was normal. After two years of having the carpet and several cleanings the carpet has matted down and has changed colors. I finally decided to call Empire and explained what has been happening to my carpet. The gentleman who came out to clean my carpet (who is a friend of my granddaughter) thought the carpeting was much older than 2 years. He has no reason to be dishonest he cleans carpet and he doesn't sell carpeting. He said that that the matting could be from inadequate padding. I have a 20 year warranty on the carpeting.

After calling Empire I was told I had to pay 90 dollars to come out and inspect it. The person I talked to said that he would reduced the inspection cost to 47.50. I told the person in Northlake Illinois that I did not want to pay anything and that I wanted to speak to a manager. He said no manager was available but he would have one return my call. It has been over a week with no phone call from Empire regarding someone coming out to inspect for no charge. I have my carpet cleaning receipt that I will submit after I hear from you.

Unfortunately I have lost all confidence with Empire and I really don't expect to have some come out and waste my time by telling me it's not their fault. It's my fault! So my advice to all is educate yourself before you make any major purchases. There is enough information out there on the internet to assist you. Fool me once (Luna) shame on me. Fool me twice (Empire) shame on you. A very unsatisfied customer!! By the way I am still waiting for a manager to return my call. It's been over a week and a half since your representative told me that his manager Julio would return my call.

This is a 2 part review: first, the laminate installers were excellent. (Jesus and two other guys) They arrived on time and did a very professional job. We have absolutely no complaints with that part of the installation. Second, the vinyl man (Rick) came and had an attitude before he got in the front door. He was mad that the laminate installers were "in his way". Mad because the refrigerator, range, washer and dryer were not unhooked and moved. We were told the installers would do that. So he left.

I called Empire Today to complain and to cancel the order with them. I was offered a $201 discount to give ET another chance to make it right. We rescheduled for another day, we had someone here to unhook and move all appliances. We received the confirmation calls Friday night and Saturday morning. Then on Saturday morning at the time the installers should have been here Brandon called and said the product had been discontinued. We allowed him to come show us the new product which was inferior to the initial product, but we decided on a product and scheduled delivery.

We were offered numerous discounts due to the miscommunication. Numerous times I complained about the inferior product. It was not the discounts I was interested in. I simply wanted a vinyl product that was comparable to my initial purchase. We started getting the runaround. Keep in mind I had already paid in full on the day it should have been installed. Finally I requested a full refund for the cost of the vinyl but eventually had to go to the credit card company and request they refute the charges. This was done and my money was finally returned. Of course I was not reimbursed for the guy that came to move my appliances. I will never use them nor recommend them. Many family and friends have come to admire the laminate but they also got to see and hear how shabby and unprofessional the vinyl department is. Not sure how they keep an A+ rating. Overall horrible experience.

I asked him how the carpet was constructed i.e. stapled or continuous filament which he seemed not to know. Asked about how much I wanted to spend asking different price points. He had brought with him 2 nylon samples all the rest polyester products with no manufacturer anywhere on the product. Asked how much the carpet was per yard??? He said, "We only quote by the install price."

Did not thoroughly measure like another quote with measuring tape etc. Imputed some figures into his computer while talking to me and arrived at 4 prices 2 being 8000 for 100 sq yards the other 2 around 4 thousand, but these were for very cheap low quality polyester with limited colors. I said that was more than I wanted to pay. He called his boss, then it was 6000. Declined to get excited by this and then he asked if I would have a sign in front of my house etc and if I gave an upfront deposit of 300 dollars I could get it for 3400. I asked if I could show the sample to my husband... No I need these. I said that I would not give a deposit to anyone without consulting my husband.

He wanted to close this sale, but honestly I became suspicious even about the quality of the carpet the more I looked at it. The high pressure sales with no quote to be emailed to me was enough to say forget this company and their flimflam. No money was going to be given in advance to this operation and in fact I glad I found this site even after the fact.

I had used you in the past and so we used you again. My only problem is because Empire made a mistake, a manager never contacted me about the issue and I was told by a few customer service workers that they would return my call. I wanted the issue resolved before the install. I was told a manager would call me but no manager ever called. I wanted a manager so we would could resolve the issue in a fair way due to their mistake. The day of the install came and still no call back. I was assured not to worry basically and that they had my message and my account was noted in the computer in order to resolve the issue to my satisfaction. The workers during the install however did an amazing job. I'm just upset in the way Empire handled the situation with their management who never returned my call.

I'm not chasing you but I definitely feel that you have fell short on that end of the customer service part, especially when it was Empire's mistake. I was never looking for a free product from the mistake but perhaps a slight discount for my troubles and for having to take off from work because they made a mistake the first go around. In the end customer service basically said to me that the job was completed and that is all that matters at this point. It felt as if they said, "Now go enjoy your carpet runner on the stairs and move on with your life, we can't help you and we are going to pretend that we did everything in our power to make sure you as a customer were satisfied". The next time I would use you again does make me question if there would be a next time I could put my faith in Empire again.

I was very pleased with Empire. I had a specific date that I needed them to complete the project by as we were having two parties and they came in and completed everything. They ran low on one material that they had to backorder, which they made sure that it was brought in on time and they came over the day before we had the party and finished up some baseboard molding. We also had one little problem with the carpet. There was a hard spot in the pad that you could feel through the carpet. We called the office and they sent somebody out to repair that promptly. The guys that did the wood were very good. We weren't there the entire time but for the time that we were, they were considerate of what we were doing while they were still busting to get their job done. They also cleaned up nicely at the end of each day. Overall, it was a very good experience.

My sister-in-law gave me Empire’s phone number and I gave them a call. They came out that afternoon and took the measurements. Then the installers came back the next day to install carpet in the front room and the little hallway in our home. They were very nice, polite, did a very good job laying it and had a very good time laying it so I'm very satisfied. Empire's cost was reasonable because the other stores were a couple thousands. When the sales rep gave me the price, I said that we'll do it because I'm on a fixed income and I got a really good deal. I like the color of the carpet which is deep water blue. It's very comfortable compared to my other carpet and it's so soft and squishy. Even my little great granddaughter who turned seven last month and came over to spend the day said that it's very soft. I'm gonna need some kitchen rug and I’d probably be calling them too.

Let's start at the beginning. On April 19, 2017 between 1pm and 3pm a rep was to respond to my house for an estimate. At 3:15 the call center phoned me and advised that no one would be out as my name was not on the list. So we rescheduled. On 4-24-2017 Sue ** came out to do the measuring and give me the estimate. She said the laminate could be installed the next day, but I wanted time to rearrange the furniture so we decided on Apr 26 for the laminate and the 27th for the carpet. I was also told by Sue the sale ended at the end of the month, but I went online and checked and found the sale was good until 5-6-17. Maybe a little sales pressure, huh?

Now the fun begins. Phone call from Sue stating "The product is not in stock". A product that was promised the next day if I wanted it, but decided until the 26th. Each day after that for the next two days call after call was made to me the product would be on the next truck and ready the next day. Finally, after several days of this I told Sue, "Just bring out more samples and I will choose something similar." Just want the job done, as my house was upside down with furniture piled up in my living room and the laundry room was unusable due to furniture and my drum set being stored in there. In other words, the place was a mess for four and five days waiting for "the product" to show up.

Finally after choosing a different laminate we agreed on an installation date of 4-29-17 and carpet installation on 5-1-17. Almost a week after the initial installation dates. Keep in mind, I do not have access to the laundry room and living room during this time. The reason the laminate needed to be put down first was I could then take the stuff from the living room and place it in the kitchen so the carpet could be laid. Time for the carpet. Almost the first thing out of the installer's mouth was..."I don't have enough carpet with me to finish the job." Oh, great, what's next with this job. So the installers put down what they had and had to return the next day.

To say the least I am totally unsatisfied with Empire carpet. What was supposed to be done and could have been done in three days took almost an entire week. The one bright spot in all this fiasco was dealing with Ceci on the 28th at the call center in El Paso, Texas. She was extremely courteous and helpful with my plight. In fact I made it a point to wait on hold to talk to her supervisor and tell him what a great employee she was. If not for her this entire project would have been a TOTAL DISASTER... I am very disappointed with the overall experience with Empire and the ad saying next day is complete B.S. Next week is more like it. That's it. Thanks for your time and consideration.

Had Empire salesman come in. He heard my needs that, "I wanted a comfortable flooring that would allow my whole family... 2 children and a husband with a fused back be able to sit/play on the living room carpet." So we found a carpet I liked and he negotiated a really great deal for it. Or so I thought... We put the downpayment in and problems there.

Two men arrived (only an hour late) which was fine because I had moved 99% of the furniture they were scheduled to move. But when I saw the padding they picked out (mind you I never saw any samples of padding or anything on that subject. Just followed the salesman recommendation and I didn't know anything) different to ask if there were options since he KNEW I wanted the carpet as thick and cushiony as possible. If this padding was 1/4" thick, I be astounded. It's the thinnest thing you'd ever seen.

But trusting more than I should have I had them install it... the moment I walked on it I knew I was in big trouble. You can literally feel the notches in the wood flooring below. So I called the company after thinking how much we paid for something that NO ONE is going to want to sit on (let alone lay on and wrestle with our boys). I truly hope there is a way to fix this as the carpet alone is great. But just getting rid of the protective padding and putting a thicker (non protective one on instead since the carpet is 100% polyester anyway AND from everything I've read is cheaper padding too) and the rest be a wash. Because I don't know what I can do with a floor that no softer to be on than the stone floor in our kitchen. Hoping that next 24 hours I can change my experience.

Updated on 05/18/2017: I did a review in the hope things could get fixed the day the carpet was installed... well they didn't and the promises of someone actually contacting you "within 24 hours"... (like they promise) is getting really old too (think the movie Money Pit and promise "2 weeks"). They didn't move the furniture in or out. They didn't take the divider out as I asked them to do (and as always was promised but had to step away). And lastly the sales person ignored my request of having carpet and padding that was thick (in inches) so it doesn't hurt ones back to sit on the floor... likely so he could get a bigger commission. All of these things happened... I still have a bump in my flooring and NO ONE at Empire seems to care to help. Most talk a good game but still can't/won't do anything to fix it.

They also did the vinyl floor in the kitchen and bathroom. I had two other estimates, but Empire’s price was more reasonable. I also liked the variation of colors and patterns they had in picking out for carpeting and vinyl flooring. These are the reasons why I went with them.

Empire’s reps were also wonderful and very good. They listened to what I said. They really took time and talked to me and we went through everything. They were helpful when I asked them to do something. I have no complaints at all. The vinyl man was unbelievable too. He and the carpet people were artists. They did a beautiful job. The quality of the carpeting is fine as well. I got Berber carpeting in French Vanilla color and that lasts until God knows when. I had a good experience with Empire Today and I would use them again.

We paid upfront 100% for our flooring. They rushed through the job splattering grey goop all over our kitchen cabinets that won't come off, grey goop on the new baseboards, handrails to on our stairs. Glue is on our bedroom carpet. We cannot get out. It's now grey and stained. The walls are scratched and damaged from the flooring and where they brought the floor in through our upstairs bedroom they stood on my bench out front and scraped the paint off the bench. They couldn't get the screen back on the window. They brought the flooring in through so they screwed it back onto the house. The thresholds that were installed all popped up after only a few days and we had to get someone else to come in and properly install the thresholds. Now they have several nail holes in them from being installed twice.

Our final install was of the carpet, they didn't bring the baseboards and I was told they would come the next day to finish. No call, no show for the second day. I waited all day until I called the sales guy who we purchased from about 2pm. He said no one would be coming back that day. We were then told a crew would be out Monday. One guy came alone. He had to shove and move all our furniture back himself. When he reconnected our washer he switched the hot cold line, so an entire load of laundry is shrunk from that too. The list goes on and on with their mess and water bottles and trash left on the street and curb. I would never recommend this company to anyone for their services.

DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY. I wish there was a way to leave no stars!!! They will take your money, not do the job, and continually lie to you. They have the worst customer service and clearly do not give a damn about their customers. We started out with an estimate from Ivan ** on 4/2/2017. He gave us the price and we set the install date for TODAY. On 4/2/2017 we gave him a deposit (half price of the job) and he immediately scanned it to their account. Today my husband called him to find out what time the installers were coming. He immediately told my husband he would call him back but never did... even though we left him 4 voicemails afterward.

We called the 800 number dozens of times to get the installers, etc. We spoke with Alex, Cervantes, and Angelique (who was the rudest of all). THEY ALL seemed to struggled to find our account and our information. Alex and Cervantes both told us the installers would call us in 24 hrs and/or were on their way, before they hung up on us. We could tell they had no clue who we were or what we were even talking about.

Finally we spoke to Angelique who was truly annoyed that we were upset and waiting. Finally after placing us on hold half a dozen times, she told us that our order was not in the system. We told her we had the signed contract from Ivan and wanted our money back, since we had waited a whole month, taken time off from our jobs, and had cleared the rooms where the carpets would be installed. She told us they couldn't get our money back until Empire found the order, entered it in their system, and processed it. I asked her numerous times for a supervisor only to be transferred to a RUDE AND ANNOYED Shaniqua, as well as a second supervisor who said she couldn't help. We were then sent in to someone's voicemail.

I called again, this time we're finally told the truth..OUR ORDER WAS NEVER ENTERED INTO THEIR SYSTEM. The rep placed us on hold to call Ivan. We were shocked that she reached him being that we, the paying customers, could not reach him. The rep said Ivan told her that he went to Mexico for a month and forgot to fax our order to the office, thus there was no record of our order or our check (even though it was cashed electronically back on 4/2/17).

I just can't understand why or how we were lied to so many times, as well as hung up on. Clearly no one cares and can't tell us when we will get our hard-earned money back. At this point, all we want is our money back ASAP!!! After all Empire, you cashed the check ASAP!!! The last rep put in a cancellation request, and said it could take 15-21 days. THEY ARE A HORRIBLE COMPANY TO DEAL WITH. They are unethical liars who have no decency or respect for their customers. Do not use this company. After all of this, no one has had the decency to call us and apologize. Shame on Empire Carpets!!!

We already removed everything out of our rooms and the four rooms upstairs and had moved those to the ground floor. Empire Today showed up and they didn't bring the carpet we bought. They had three weeks when we ordered before they deliver but they didn’t call us ahead of time they didn’t have the carpet. Then we called the sales manager who said he'll come over that afternoon and see if we can pick a new one because the other one’s not gonna be available. He came out on the same day that they were supposed to deliver and install and he said they’re gonna upgrade our carpet or we can upgrade it for free because of what they did to us. He was talking to his manager on the phone and the manager said they can maybe get the other carpet eventually. The salesman told him we got boxes and stuff from upstairs all downstairs now and there’s nothing upstairs except empty furniture.

They did come the next day and installed and the installers weren’t really well versed in English, which is against Montgomery County code to start with. They were able to understand everything. I went through everything and said only one seam in every doorway. They pretty much covered up the second seam on the doorway until we vacuumed three days later.

When they took all the carpet up they swept, which was good, but they didn’t want to remove all the staples. So they left chunks of padding all under the floor but they didn’t have a tool to remove all that stuff easily and I had to help them remove as much as they could. What really bothered us was the fact that when we called them and told them what the problem was and they asked why I didn’t tell them that when they were leaving. I said that it's because the guy was sitting on the second seam in the doorway so, we didn’t see it. He also kept raking it with his little rake machine to make it look like it was all fluffed up. We vacuumed and we could see that the seam wasn’t even done well on the second seam in the doorway. They intersected in the doorway and it's bizarre. You don’t install carpet like this.

It’s lumpy bumpy in some places because they left stuff under the padding. But it’s not noticeable unless you’re walking around in bare feet and it took two weeks or about a week and a half for it to outgas. It’s made from recycled plastic bottles governed by the government to help the public which is much better than nylon and it's great because those have got guidelines in order to keep people safe from cancer-causing things. Outgassing is dangerous especially on nylon. They’re moving away from nylon because they have to use dyes, stains, glue and stuff that are very very dangerous to breathe because it gets inside all of the house. It’s terrible. The original carpet that we got that they didn’t deliver was better than the upgrade. The upgrade gave us a longer warranty, but from an outgassing standpoint, it was worse than the original we selected.

Then, they said they got the carpet and they’re coming out. They sent the two guys that did the installation back out and they were apologetic and nice guys. They pretty much said to us that Empire wants them to utilize all carpet so, they have to piece things in. You don’t piece something in on the doorway because that’s where high traffic is. It’s noticeable and weird. You got a triangle in the doorway. They got on the phone and they admit it doesn’t look right and that the seam is coming apart. It’s gonna come apart because there are three pieces of carpet pulling against each other. The triangle, which is roughly about two feet or a foot and a half wide or two feet deep, is gonna lose the battle. It’s gonna be pulled by the big carpet pieces. The lady from Empire said they’re gonna redo it. I asked if the dye lot is gonna match and she said it will. They called us and said they’re installing on the following Tuesday.

We, again, take everything out of the room and we’re waiting for them on Tuesday morning. At 8:19 in the morning, they called us and said they didn’t have the carpet and they have to specially order it. I said that we’ve moved everything out of the room, again and they said sorry. They said they didn’t know when the new carpet piece is gonna be in but the dye should match which was wonderful. Two weeks go by, I contacted the Consumer Affairs and told them what they’ve done.

When I made the complaint, the salesman contacted me four times between 10 and 11 o’clock at night and started screaming. He’s so upset and said that I was attacking him. I didn’t attack him, I made a formal complaint and said he was one of the contacts. He also told me he was gonna have to get a lawyer and I said all I did was complain because nobody was responding at Empire. Then at 11:15, he texted me and said that if I'm still up, he’d like to talk to because he's sorry. He didn’t read the documents properly and thought I was attacking him. The contract is arbitration but it's in Illinois and they don’t tell you in the contract the price. It’s $750 and it’s nonrefundable. That’s the legal approach to this and it I had to do that. Montgomery County had really good laws and there are a lot of other things that you can do especially working and talking with them.

I hadn’t heard anything, so I went online. Their website has a thing where you can put the code that they gave you for the complaint and you can send them an email. Then, I got an email back saying they’re giving me a new code and they’ve referred this to the local office. That’s not what I was saying. I was just reminding them they haven’t communicated with me. There were times when they said they called the house. We have three phones, my wife’s phone, my cell phone and the house phone which all has voicemail. They didn’t call us.

The guy finally got a hold of somebody at Empire and I got a call that afternoon. They said that the carpet’s in. The order came in and they’d like to schedule. They’re scheduled to come again and I don’t’ know whether they’re gonna show up with the right carpet or whether they’re gonna show up at all. Also, after we get a new carpet in, we’re gonna have another week and a half before somebody can sleep in that room because the smell is so bad.

This is not the way to do business. We’ve had three sets of carpet and this will be the third set in the upstairs. We’ve bought from Home Depot for years and never had this problem. The funny thing is I counted 50-50 reviews online and 50% were saying they did a bad job and 50% were saying they were thrilled and Empire did great jobs. What’s interesting is that this double seam in the doorway is done a lot by them. The installers tell us this is Empire’s MO and this is the way they operate. They don’t carry and they won’t order the large pieces of carpet so, they try to patch things in and make the installers do this unbelievably messy job.

I feel bad for a lot of people out on the internet. This one guy wrote about double seams and he said his seams are berber. He said they looked totally a mess and he has no way to fix it at all. They’ve tried to patch it and they won’t put new carpet in. It is bizarre. Why would they do stuff like this? I think because they are the cookie cutter in McDonald's with fast service and get it done quickly. This is what we’re buying from them and I think that’s a mistake if they can't do it. Then, they wonder why they get all these complaints online about these kinds of problems. It was very frustrating. The next appointment will be frustrating especially if it doesn’t match up or they do come or the carpet is totally not installed right. Everything’s cleared out and we haven’t put everything back. So, we’ve been living for three weeks basically without using that room at all. I don’t like to have to deal with people like this.

My problem is that they’re solving the problem because of what I’ve done. I don’t think they’re solving the problem because they realize they had screwed up and they needed to make it right. That’s sad because they advertise like crazy. My last two carpets that were all upstairs had one seam in every door way and was fine and it seemed too simple to screw up but they did. I’d like them to fix the problem.

I contracted Empire Today to do my carpet upstairs. The appointment was supposed to be at 11:00 but they showed up at 8:00. I called the gentleman I bought it from because the installers were coming a long way to come over here to put the carpet in and I wanted to make sure there hadn't been an accident. He contacted the installers and the installers called back and said they were going to be about two hours late. Then, they called back again and said they'd be here about eight o'clock. So, I was around the house all day.

When the installers got here, they went ahead and started putting the installation in. They moved all the furniture and did a nice job on that. They cleaned up but they should've come with a vacuum cleaner if they're gonna actually clean up. They shouldn't come with a broom and a dustpan. However, somebody needs to be able to speak English properly. One of the installers did not speak English at all and the other one spoke in broken English. The gentleman couldn't understand me. But they did the best they could and got everything put back in. They got the job done and I have nothing against the way they work. They work like the little Trojans.

The next day when it's daylight and I could see, I started cleaning up because I had little carpet fibers all over everything. That's when I found that when they installed the stairwell, they've cut it too short or too narrow. I contacted the company again and they made arrangements to get the gentleman out. A few days later, they came back in again at dark thirty and all of a sudden they said, "You're spending $3,500 with me and you're my last choice. You're gonna be my last job for the day." But, they fixed everything up. They left and they did a good job except for the little shutter doors on my closet. One of them broke. I didn't call them back because I'm aggravated with them. I'll get someone to come in and fix that.

Then a few days later I got a letter in the mail telling me that I need to remit payment by such date. When I bought the carpet, I gave the salesman a check and he went ahead and handed it back to me. Everything was done over the phone. But, I didn't get the response that I should get. So, I contacted the salesman and went through the same thing with him about the cashier's check and I never heard back from him. I went to my bank and I asked them about the cashier's check. I said, "Can you tell me if they can withdraw their money without depositing this check?" The gentleman said, "No. Once I took it out of your account, we put it into a special account and that check has to be cleared by the bank." It is not cleared so I went ahead and filled out an envelope and mailed Empire the check. The gentleman wrote, "Void," on it. I asked the banker if that would affect anything and he said, "No."

Empire wasn't nice enough to contact me to let me know that I have paid the gentleman about $1,500 upfront and that the balance was about $2,500. I would get it paid in full in the last month and a half but I hadn't heard a word from Empire. This was my second time in this house that I have used them. They installed my laminate wood flooring in my bedroom and did a beautiful job. Everything ran smooth. But I would not say never but the chances are good I will never use Empire again.

We had the laminate floor installed in 0/14. The man arrived without understanding a word of English. We could not make them understand where to store the carpet. Over time the floor is peeling up and we have a crack in the floor starting at the baseboard about two feet long. The caulking at the fireplace cracked away soon after installation. I protected the floor with area rugs and did not see how much of the floor is lifting. We called the company and a person came out and charged $ 70.- plus to look at the damage. He said someone from the company will call to fix it. He never called. My husband made many calls that were not returned. When we finally talked to a rep. we were told that because I cleaned with Murphy's Oil soap, they will not fix it. That is sad. They should not sell a floor that can't handle a mist sprayed with diluted oil soap. What we have learned from this is that we will deal with local business from now on.

We waited 20 years to get our new floors. Empire sent who they called "the best." Jay was friendly and persuasive. He has a confidence you believe and listen to. I looked at a small maybe 6x7 inch sample of a one color Acacia wood and liked it, but I told him I did not like the "stripey" look in the picture provided. He said "It isn't stripey." I then said, "Well, this picture sure looks stripey." He replied "It isn't like that." I then a 3rd time said, "Jay, come on, if it isn't stripey, why would they put in a picture that looks like that?" His reply: "You'll love it. Trust me." And bad lighting in the picture was mentioned. Good grief.

Since I was told he had 30 years experience in the industry, I doubted my own eyes, figured it was a bad picture, and ordered off the one color sample provided. I was not home during installation. When I got home so excited to see my "uniform color" hardwood floor (not stripey). I walked in and my heart sunk and my stomach began to feel sick. 20 years of waiting and $8800.00 and the floor was incredibly stripey, swirly and the variation was extreme. A vanilla board next to a chocolate board. Mottled coloration everywhere. Intentional saw marks and large back sealed over cracks. Because too late, I found out that's how Acacia is, but I had no idea and I'm not sure the sales rep, Jay, did either. If he did, he should have told me.

The worst part is that Empire will not replace this floor based on the misrepresentation because I "allowed it" to go in. Yes I did - based on a sample of ONE color that I took all over the house because I loved that ONE color (of course I know hard wood has a little variation) and based on the sales rep telling me three times in a row the wood would not be "stripey." He should have steered me immediately to other flooring when he heard my comments, and he should have picked up, by my comments over and over, that I wanted uniformity. But I trusted his experience. I believed him when he said the picture was not a good representation. Well, yes it was a good representation... That is what Acacia looks like, I found out too late. But I was told it would not look like the picture.

The only "resolution" I am being offered is to spend more thousands on another floor and be prepared to have my sub-floor wrecked pulling this one up and having to pay for that too. I'm sorry, but Empire needs to step up, admit this is NOT a "he said she said" like the sales rep likes to call it (my husband was there), and replace this flooring at their cost. Empire is a huge corporation. They can make this happen if they want. I should not have to pay any more for them to fix this and make this right with new flooring. But the corporate giant will most likely not care much about this one customer. We'll see.

This firm was hired to replace carpet in two bedrooms and remove/replace furniture. This firm gives you a low cost offer, asks you when you want carpet installed, agrees to a near term date, and then regularly pushes out the install date. They get you signed up and then can't deliver on deadline. My realtor had 3 bad experiences using Empire with her clients. I was one of them. Neither I or my realtor was given advance instructions on prepping furniture for moving. When they came to install, it was just one guy to move furniture that included heavy desks and credenza. He and office staff said they didn't think they'd be able to get another person. I had to help move drawers out of desks and credenza and take apart the bed.

Finally, they agreed to provide another person for the outset and close of the job. They wanted payment upfront in full, despite showing with one guy and me not having even seen the carpet yet. When all was said and done, and lots of hassle at the outset of the install and before, the carpet went in and looks fine. But this was one of the worst customer service experiences I've had in the construction/remodel industry.

After a day or two we noticed that the seams were very noticeable, something that was not apparent during the daylight hours of the installation. The carpet was examined by Empire and found to be defective so it was replaced by them in January 2016. It is only 17 months old but is already showing significant signs of wear. I had it professionally steam cleaned a few months ago in hopes that the carpet would look better but it is still noticeably worn in the heavily trafficked areas. We did not buy cheap carpet. Since it is past the one-year warranty there is nothing we can do. We were hoping to enjoy this carpet for at least as long as we had our previous carpet which was 15 years but I doubt it will last 5. Poor quality carpet.

Problems started from the beginning. I went online and scheduled an appointment with Empire Today. We were interested in the 50/50/50 sale, which was half off carpet, half off padding, and half off installation. The next available appointment was 3 weeks out. Fast forward to the day the salesman came, it was April 24, he was on time. He was trying too hard to be funny and it was getting annoying. We let him know upfront we were selling our house in the next week or so and was not interested in top grade. He showed us some samples after he measured. We narrowed it down to two choices, and I made sure to ask if these were the ones that were included in the sale, he just said these are the "cheaper ones." The price on one was 1270 and the other one was 2200, we were shocked at the difference in price, and supposedly 50% off.

When I said, "Well I guess it's the 1270 then", the salesman said, "I didn't even charge you for carpet padding." I was like wow, thinking I got a great deal. My husband did all the electronic signing on the salesman's notepad. I asked for a breakdown of the charges, he told me we would be getting it in an email, along with the contract he was signing. I checked out the email the next day or so and noticed there was not a breakdown of the charges, but just a set price. I called the 1-800 number and was told I could have a receipt mailed to me, but they did not have access to the "breakdown" of charges. I found that odd. They connected me with a regional salesman in my state, and I told him that I was concerned since I did not see a breakdown in charges that I didn't get the 50/50/50 sale pricing.

He informed me that we got a great price. I asked him well that didn't include carpet padding right? Because the sales guy said he didn't even charge me for it, and he said, "Ma'am, he didn't charge you for the better grade pad." I said "Well he didn't say that, he said no charge at all for padding." He apologized for the lie and said he would talk to him, and that he was new to the company. So, today was the day (1 week and 1 day from the sale) that the installation was to occur. We got several emails instructing us what to do. We called to verify the appointment, my husband and I both took off work, we cleared out the three bedrooms completely. We were told they install between the hours of 8 am and 6 pm, they would call with a "window" of time they would arrive, and if we did not hear from them before 10:30 am to call the 1-800 number.

I was pleased I got a call at 8:30, but they said the truck was running late and they would call back around 10:30 am to give me the window of time they would be here. It got to be almost noon and no call, so I called. The call center representative put me on hold to try and call the installers to see when they would be coming. While I'm on hold I get a call, I answer it and it's an automatic recording that said due to another installation before me they could not give me a window of time they would be here but it would be between the time they called 11:45 am and 6 pm. Well, we waited, and we waited, and we waited. 6:00 pm comes, I call, explain that no one is here nor have they called. The representative put me on hold to call the installers, I get hung up on. I call back. This time I'm told unfortunately installation is not going to happen today, the installers are not even in my state!

I was very upset, we had take off work, made arrangements for my animals to stay at a friends, cleared out 3 bedrooms completely and didn't get so much as a call! I asked to speak with a manager as this was unacceptable. I was told that I could only get compensated 75.00 and the next installation day was not for another week. Now the sale of my house is pushed back, we have to clear the rooms out AGAIN, make arrangements for the animals AGAIN, and take off work AGAIN! I said that price for everything that had happened and subsequently going to happen that 75.00 in compensation would not be acceptable. I was informed that was the highest compensation she was able to grant, but she would forward everything to her manager who was out of the office already.

She also set up another appointment which the earliest was Monday May 8, another week out. I of course agreed to set up that day, but requested new installers. Shortly after I received a phone call from the installer apologizing for not coming, he stated it was the call centers fault for not calling me and telling me that he couldn't make it, and he said he had my carpet on his truck and he could install it tomorrow. I informed him that was not an option since I work nights and had to work and would not be able to sleep with carpet being installed. I told him I was told by the call center that the next available appointment was the following Monday.

After that call, I received another one from the manager I spoke with earlier. She said she had a counter offer, they could move the installation up to Thursday or Friday this week. I said Friday would work, although I get home Friday morning from work and would not have my husband available to move the furniture and I still expected compensation for everything that happened, she is in the process of getting back with her manager on a resolution. I did inform her I was writing this complaint. I know things happen, but when you make accommodations a week in advance and you wait around with no call informing you they're not coming, and now you have to make accommodations again, it's just not acceptable.

Matter was resolved. Our salesperson and follow-up customer service was kind and professional unlike the experience with customer service on the day the tile installers did not show as scheduled. After having to switch products (due to a small hole in the floor) and rescheduling the tile, they did not give the installers enough product to finish the floor and they had to go back to get the additional two tiles needed (they did not break any so it was not the installers). This extended the length of the job into the evening. I honestly can not say for sure I would use Empire to schedule a flooring job in the future.

We scheduled both a carpet and tile install, verified dates, confirmed, prepared the rooms. The carpet installers showed up on time and are in the process of finishing the install. The tile installer was no show. No call. Nothing. The first call to Empire lasted 15 mins. The guy hung up on us. Second call lasted 32 mins. First, couldn't find our info. When found, called the installer. No answer. Then called the installer's boss. He said he called us this morning to say they wouldn't be there. (Not at all true, never called). Now they don't have any appointments avail and we have no flooring in the bathroom. Being hung up on and being lied to is a no go. The carpet installers had no problems calling and showing up. Keep your tile. Your customer service after you get the sale is unsatisfactory.

I looked Empire Today up on the internet and they had the half off sale. Then their sales guy came out, explained it pretty well and gave me a good quote. They did an excellent job in installing laminate, some tile and carpet for the living room, game room, hall and bedrooms of my home. Also, the cost and quality of the products are very good. The carpet's soft and everything looks nice now. They've met my expectations.

I had laminated floors installed in the master bedroom, my den area and the hallway area by Empire Today. It was cheaper for me to go with the company than other brands. Also, they were able to get me locally and in the next couple of days, unlike the other people who couldn’t get me until two weeks later. I was having family and friends over so I wanted my floors to be done. The installers were very professional and did exactly what I wanted them to do. They also cleaned up the areas and I was impressed with that. The flooring is gorgeous. I love the color of it. Working with Empire Today was a great experience for me.

They look beautiful, but Empire Today took off the iron rod railings that I hold on for walking to put the floor down. They didn't put it back correctly and it's loose and shaking. I can't take a chance on that, so I intend to call them to have it fixed.

A very well spoken young man came out to show us samples of the carpeting he had available. We chose a carpet, one of the better brands and a higher price, then chose the best padding available. We set a date for installation and he was sure that the job, our entire house of 1400 sq ft could be done in one day. We were delighted. They were scheduled for 8-9 am on a Tuesday morning. They arrived around 10:30am. There were 2 men and a boy that arrived. Only one of which spoke very little English. They began the job. Most of the day, we helped carrying out pieces of cut, rolled and taped carpet to help expedite the job as it became more obvious that the job was not going to be completed that day. They left carpet rolled and taped in our driveway and came back the following afternoon to finish the job.

Upon finishing there was more carpet and padding that they had taken from the home that would fit in their van. He said they would return the following morning early to retrieve the remaining scraps. After several phone calls we were told the carpet scraps would be picked up on Friday morning. Friday late in the day we began to call because the scraps remain on our sidewalk, blocking our entryway. We were then told that it would be Monday before they could pick up their trash. After many more phone calls it was decided that someone would come out on Saturday morning and remove the rubbish. And they did show up on Saturday morning.

However now, we have issues with seams in doorways and across rooms that are pulling apart. This has not been a pleasant experience at all. And under no circumstances would we ever recommend using Empire Today for any flooring needs. What comes next I suppose is dealing with them, their installers, and all the trouble we are going to have with seams.

We were looking at flooring companies and my wife liked Empire Today. We had carpets and some amount of flooring installed in the kitchen. We met with the salesperson and they were gonna do the kitchen floor first. They came back and they also had a grid. But it wasn't in the work order and if I wanted to add it, it's gonna be another thousand dollars. We declined to add the additional because of the money.

I'm dissatisfied with the requirement that you fully pay for it up front before they install it. Then, if you got any problems with it, you handle it after it's installed which I don't like. We had situations that developed that were handled by the contractor who came from out of state. They're not using their people and something more local would have felt better like the ones we had from Lowe's when I had them to do work. It was also unclear if we talk to the contractor or Empire. But the contractors were good and I had no problems with them. The guy that handled it was hard working and he did everything right. He also made sure he's comfortable with us. We had some problems with one or two of their workers but they handled that. Also, I'm satisfied with the product after it's installed. The new flooring has met expectations and I like the color.

Installers came out and refuse to work because I wouldn't pay them first. Finally got carpet a few days later. Well they cut my padding and everywhere they cut the padding there's a dip in my carpet, measurements were wrong so now I have a 3x5 area that doesn't have carpet. Long story short I am still waiting to have my carpet re-done. When you call customer service they will not connect you to anyone in the home office. I liked the rug when the sales rep from Empire Today came. The design and colors all match with what I needed so that’s why I took them. I could have gotten the rugs cheaper somewhere else but going with Empire Today was convenient to me. I had ordered one for my bedroom then one for my den and my other two bedrooms.

The rugs are perfect for the rooms but Empire's customer service stinks. We had furniture coming on Friday and they were supposed to deliver my rugs on Thursday last week. They called the wrong number and left a message on my son’s phone who didn’t get the message until 3:00 in the afternoon to say that they weren’t coming because the rug was damaged. Then they promised me that they would be here Friday morning.

Come Friday, I was waiting for them and thought of calling them up. They told me I'm not on the list of delivery. I had to call the guy who sold me the rug. He got in touch with them to find out what was going on. What happened was they forgot to put the rugs on the truck so I had to cancel my furniture. I lost Thursday’s and Friday’s days of work because of this mistake. According to them, they’re gonna credit my billing for $100 for my days’ loss. I lose $300 a day when I lose work. They’re idiots. They all got computers in front of them and nobody knows anything. It’s ridiculous. Whoever they hired for their customer service, they must have given them a stupid test before they hired them.

We had a carpet installed by Empire in the two bedrooms of the condo that we were selling. We've sold the condo and we didn't live in it very long. The carpet installed there by Empire was great and met exactly what we were looking for. It was about 500 square feet. I liked the pad underneath. It's what made the carpet soft. I always heard good things about Empire, saw the commercial and I thought I’d give it a try. Also, when I had painters over at the house, I asked them if they did flooring and they said yes but none of their prices compared to Empire. Empire Today did three rooms, a hallway with carpet and a bedroom with wood flooring. Their work was more than what I expected. It wasn’t real wood but it matches the real wood perfectly. We are going to do the rest of the house into wood as well.

I had a horrible time though trying to get the information on what I owe when I paid the check for half of it the day the flooring was installed. What I was getting in the mail didn’t match up and I keep telling them each month I want a paper copy that shows what I paid in the beginning and what I owe. But I’ve just gone round and round and I just said to forget it. I don’t even know how much more I owe as compared to what I paid and I’ve been really frustrated with that. Other than that, they've been professional, quick, and clean. They really strive to perfect everything.

We have Laminate floors installed on our entire home by Empire Today. They were better than other brands because they're a one-stop shop and were giving the best price. Their salesman was very knowledgeable and understood exactly what I needed. He knew that I was trying to chew more than I can bite because I wanted to do the demolition myself. So he made it so much easier to make me understand that it wasn't as easy as I thought it would have been. Though at the end, the amount of the savings wasn't that dramatically much, but it made more sense to let them do all the work instead of me taking the time to do it.

Laminates look nicer and I like it better than hardwood floor. It's not as messy as carpet or tile because we don't have to worry about the grout and all that stuff. It's easy to clean and very low maintenance. It has a big long plank and it's scratch-resistant. So it works like a charm in the kitchen because it's water-resistant. Also, the installers were very professional and were very nice guys. They made my experience even better because they made sure that they didn't damage the walls and took their time to do stuff. They even did extra stuff by covering things that they should have never done because it was not supposed to be there. Eventually, the house is gonna be a rental property at some point, so it's gonna rent very well.

I explained that this was not acceptable. I got up with the install manager. I invited him to see my point. He basically said this is the resolution. I asked, "What if it doesn't look right?" He basically said then I'm stuck with it.

I have called and called and I can only get people at the 1800 line and they say someone will call, but they never do. I have asked for a person above the install manager, corporate office or anyone in charge. No results. It appears they want to do some "patchwork" and get out of town. Their experts on the sale and install should have said I would have needed an elevated transition in the middle of my hallway prior to anything. Then I would have not purchased this product. I am completely disgusted with this lack of customer service. I will continue to pursue this plus either small claims or BBB. If anyone else has had a bad experience or has a number please let me know. I could go on and on. However, I think you have the point. It looks much worse in person than the pics show. Trust me.

Did a poor job (trimming uneven, didn't spackle the holes in the trimming), dented my fridge, got mad when we wouldn't take money instead of a repair. Then for two additional days in a row I was told someone is coming and for those two days the employees were a no call/no show. I had to call to find out they weren't coming. Please help. I would like to know if I could be compensated for repairing my floors that are only 15 month old and have been discontinued. I had laminate flooring installed in December 2015. Since the floors were no more than 15 months old, surely I could get the room replaced.

I called Empire, explained my situation and they said, "Sure no problem, those floor are still in stock." I schedule an appointment, the consultant came out and he informed me I would have to get all three rooms, plus the hallway done because the manufacturer had discontinued my floors. So I asked him if I could talk to someone in corporate, and I called and talked to a person who identified himself as the customer service manager. Reviewed April 26, 2017

I had both a good and bad experience with Empire Today. My carpet was installed fast and efficiently. No problem. With the vinyl install it was to take 1 day for the entrance, kitchen and bath. It took 4 days total. The first installer came out and was only able to complete the bathroom install as he stated my flooring was not level and a contractor needed to come out. After almost 6 hours the vinyl was placed, however after looking at it the square pattern it is off on every wall up to 2 inches.

I was also told to cut cost by not adding vinyl to the laundry area in the bathroom. I thought by that it would at least go under the door by an inch or 2 so that I would not be able to see both my old and new floor. When the laundry door is closed, but both floors are visible. This looks very bad - not sure why the salesman would recommend this! It looks very cheap and unappealing - I saved 250.00 -but now have an ugly room. A wood trim piece was placed in front of the heat register. Some bubbles were found already under the flooring.

The contractor that came out to do the kitchen and bathroom (he just needed to mud the floor) said he could fix the bathroom floor and make it look right! His work was perfect in the kitchen/entrance! Not crooked! Very happy with his work. Empire did send a representative Scott out to inspect - I was told my walls were the problem. So my floor pattern is up to 2 inches off because of my crooked walls on all of my walls.

I accepted that until friends and family stopped by and they also felt it was shoddy work. I called Scott and he said he would talk to the contractor who said he Could get it right and Call me back... Of course no call back. I filled out the online survey and again promised a call back in 2 days to no avail. (A call back regarding fixing the flooring by the laundry room was promised also, but no response.)

My concerns. - Why was my old square print spot on - not crooked - if my walls are the problem? The old flooring should have also been crooked. This does not make sense! In front of my laundry doors that are 58 inches my tile print grows by 2 inches! 7 inches to 9. In front of the 59-inch vanity it goes from 3 1/4 inch tile to 5 inches. Bathroom entrance pattern 1 3/4 " grows to 3 1/2 square. In a 5' area. If when the measurements were taken by the sales rep. why wasn't I told to pick a plain floor vs a print because it would look bad? I hate that my floor is crooked on all walls - would think an experienced salesman would pick up on this. And recommend flooring that would look great and not off centered.

I did have a concern with cost -I was told by the salesman to cut back by not re-flooring under my washer and dryer so that the appliances would not have to be moved. But had I known I would see a couple inches of my old floor, (the appliances are about 5 inches in) the new floor stops before the door with an ugly metal plate, in front of the door hinge. Because the new floor stops in front of the laundry I see both prints. This looks cheap. I would definitely have paid the extra money not to make the room look hodge-podge. I was trying to improve my bathroom not make it look worse. At this point the old floor looked more professional, just dated. This should not have been suggested or explained better!

If the Empire contractor says he would be able to fix it -- and get it straight (like his other work) why wouldn't Empire Today want to do the right thing? After spending $2,900.00 on flooring I want it to be something I'm happy with - I am very disappointed with my bathroom workmanship. Also being told I would get call backs 3 times and no responses, makes a very unprofessional experience! I would Not recommend Empire Today, based on the way this is being handled. Very unprofessional.

But it seems that every time we sit in the chair or even on the couch, it slides even with these things on them. It's like a little leg thing that you put on and it keeps the floor from being scratched.

The workers told me to get these little discs to put underneath the legs. But you have to be careful when you sit or the whole chair goes flying, because of the matte finish on the floor itself. I don't know what else I could put underneath the legs of the chair, so they don't slide when you sit and who I could talk to about that. Other than that, everything is fine and I'll recommend them to a friend.

I have carpet installed by Empire Today on the stairs and two bedrooms of my home. We chose them for their brand name and availability. It took about a week to order and get the carpets installed, and the floor was completed in about eight hours. We were told that we could call up in the morning to get them start on the morning itself, but they could only start only at 1:00 PM. Also, they should put their best price forward so that we don't have to do unnecessary negotiation. Other than that, the carpet is really comfortable and soft to walk on and it goes well with the house.

The person who answered said, "Oh, the persons vehicle broke down and they were wondering if they could reschedule." I have no problem with the fact that the vehicle broke down. These things happen, but I asked why no one bothered to contact me. Why I had to contact them. The person on the other end said nothing. I said, I wanted to speak to a manager. They "transferred" me. I got disconnected. I finally left a message explaining what happened and how unhappy I was about the service (I work customer service and this is not acceptable). That was around 9:20 last night and as of 4:55 pm today, they have not bothered to call me. Great customer service. Needless to say, I will not be using them and suggest no one else use them either.

We purchased the blinds 3 years ago when we purchased our new house. Part of the attraction was the "lifetime warranty". Except the warranty costs $75 every time you make a claim after one year. Except they have had our blind in for repair for 2 1/2 months and all I get is the run around any time I call. Except the prices were higher and the product not even close in quality to the blinds we got at Lowe's at our previous house. If all this attracts you, then go for it. In the future, I'm not even calling Empire for their "lifetime warranty". I'm going to Lowe's or ANYWHERE but Empire and put my $75 towards a quality product.

UPDATED ON 05/01/2017: Ok, following up my previous review of Empire blinds, they magically found my blind after posting my original review on this site, and delivering and installing it on Saturday. They also said they would refund the $75 warranty charge (yet to be received). The bad (truly funny) news is that this is a top-down, bottom-up blind, meaning it is designed to be raised from the closed position from the bottom, or lowered from the top. First, they reversed the controls, so it is backwards from every other blind in the house, and what it was originally (bottom up is now on the right, and vice-versa). That was funny enough. Where it gets truly hysterical is that the bottom up works very poorly, and the top down doesn't work at all! Why am I not surprised?

I don't like the look of it and do not think that having a seam next to the wall is acceptable. He said he should be able to get it to $3,000, again I said no. He then held his phone in hand and said if we would guarantee to do business if he could get the price to $2,200, I told him I would not guarantee anything, IF he could get price to $2,200 I would need to allow the other company a chance to meet price. I also asked him if we had STUPID written across our forehead since the beginning price was double. He said he couldn't make the call without the guarantee and we said goodbye.

About 10 minutes later, while my husband and I were in the backyard shed we heard someone calling for us and lo and behold he was there with the price of $2,000. I said no I would not deal with him. About 3 - 4 days later, someone from Empire called and said she was calling to tell us she could get the price even lower and again I said I would not deal with Empire, even if the price was $1,000. All we can say is make sure you get reputable quotes and have the samples with you before you call Empire.

Horrible. No stars whatsoever. Call Empire Today after getting several estimates from other carpet companies. Decided to go with them because they were few hundred dollars cheaper than the other ones. That was the worst decision I ever made. Carpet look great. When the salesperson came out very friendly, showed us a good quality of carpet and the thick padding. Thought okay good carpet, good padding at a reasonable price.

So after paying a deposit I'm waiting only a few days for it to be installed. Very happy with it not taking so long for it to be installed. They comes for it to be installed. They decide to lay the carpet out in the road where everybody drives. Instead of setting it in our driveway after moving the vehicles for them. Some people ran over it but it didn't seem to bother them.

I know it's no excuse but unfortunately I was so busy with taking care of a few personal matters at the time I wasn't paying attention too much. Come to find out after they're halfway through installing the carpet is not the carpet we ordered. It is not the padding we ordered. The padding and the carpet is something you would put in an apartment, a cheap apartment at that. Nothing against Apartments. But I live in a home. I would like the quality of carpet that I pick to be put in my house, not the crap they gave me.

After several months and several calls most of them not returned someone finally comes out to look at the carpet. The carpet is matted down. The seams are coming up. There's a hole in one of the bedrooms to where it looks like the machine had frayed. I show the person all the things that are wrong to be told that it's my cat's fault that the seams are coming up because apparently my cat sits in the doorway and scratch in a straight line then my vacuum to be blamed for messing the carpet up. This is hilarious. My outdoor living cats and my $1,200 Kirby vacuum is to blame for their crappy apartment grade carpet.

I am extremely unsatisfied with this company. The only thing they care about is taking your money and give you cheap carpet so they can line their pockets. I hope other people see this so that they do not get screwed over like I did. I work hard for my money and to be ripped off, lied to, ignored and told that it's my fault that their carpet sucks.

What's wrong with having a little ethics, a sense of pride in your work, not screwing people over. If you do mess up, righting the wrong. You own a company. You're supposed to be there to help people. To make people feel good about what they're buying. Not to screw them over and take their money. My husband and I have been in construction all of our lives and we have never once have screwed somebody over. We wouldn't be in business today and be going off of word-of-mouth instead of advertising. If we did what Empire Today does we would not be in business still after 36 years. They are nothing but Crooks who care nothing about the customer only about themselves.

Sales representative sold me Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) flooring after several attempts to go with ceramic flooring. The salesman ensured that the LVT was just as great quality wise and less expensive. He ensured me that he was getting me a great deal. He promised the price included all necessary products, including transitions placed on flooring. I decided to go ahead and move forward. I was told that installers would arrive at my home at 8am. Installers did not arrive until 9 and came unprepared. They did not have the simplest of things like plastic that would cover my kitchen cabinets from dust and glue. They left for Lowe's to purchase the items. They returned a hour later to now begin the job.

While hacking away on the existing flooring they notified me that I would need plywood under the tiles. I called Empire, which informed me that would be an additional $800.00 dollars. I told them I was not informed that this would need at the time of the sales, and that the sales representative had never explained after looking at my flooring in every corner and discussing what was under the current tile. My panic and main concern is that I have a kitchen being demolished and I owe $800 dollars more. I told them I would have them leave and not finish the job if that was the case. Empire took care of the additional cost. The installers continued. They finished, however gave me no instructions on what to do next, dry time, product care.

The next day I contacted customer service regarding dry time and product care. They told me to give the area 24 hours to dry. I also stated to customer service that the installers did not install a transition on the flooring. Customer service rep said it was another additional cost. I explained I was told by the sales rep it was included. Needless to say the sales rep told me what I wanted to hear to get a sale!

After waiting the 24 hours, I began to move items back into my kitchen. Stepping on the tiles they seemed to be squishy (not dried). I then began to notice holes between the grout. There was a portion of the floor where it did not have any grout between the two tiles, on one side of my cabinets was covered with glue. There was glue and grout stuck to all parts of the base board and cabinets on the corners of my kitchen. On 3 separate areas of my kitchen the tile was not even (one up, one down), they were also not cut right to align. I immediately contacted Empire again regarding the concerns, I was told by the first rep who contacted me back that I basically had Empire eat the $800 dollars for the plywood and that I shouldn't complain! I was outraged at the lack of professionalism. I asked to speak to someone else.

Someone else contacted me and informed me they would need to send over an inspector, but couldn't give me an exact time. I was explained that I work, I need a time frame. After several back and forth conversations to get an exact time, the inspector came and agreed that the job was rushed and sloppy. The inspector gave me the options of repairing some of the imperfections or to redo the job. I chose to redo the job. However, after contacting Empire regarding the redo, they told me they needed to send out another inspector who is in charge of the installers that did the job. I asked why wasn't he sent out first rather than now having a second inspector. I agreed to have the second inspector come in (now this is into the second week after installation).

The second inspector agreed that there were things done wrong, he also states that there is a depression in the flooring which makes it look like hills in my kitchen floor, but was very stuck on. It can be fixed, however stating in some areas the fix would cause a bubble to appear! He argued that it was a fixable and did not need a redo and that he can patch it up! Totally unacceptable. I have not had a functioning kitchen for two weeks now, because of this. I wish I took my business elsewhere. The lack of integrity, professionalism from sales to installation is unacceptable. The quality is lacking in this company. I will never do business with Empire and I will also make sure that I spread the word regarding their lack of quality. The problem is still not resolved.

When we were here in Louisa, VA and in a little bit more of a remote area, we went to the big-box stores like Lowe's and Home Depot, hoping that we could get something quicker, and not thinking about Empire Today as an option out here. But the stores put us on a six-to-eight week out option and that's not going to work. Then we saw a commercial of Empire and decided to give it a try. We called them and had the flooring the next week.

Also, their salesperson was really helpful. He didn't try to give us anything he knew we didn't want. It's his job to try to sell us up but he didn't. He had a good idea of what we wanted. I scheduled to have carpet and Vinyl installed in my home. First off... I called because of the 50/50 sale they advertise. The estimate was so high it was unbelievable. After he took off 50% - it was in line with everyone else's "Normal" prices. This should have been a red flag... but I went ahead anyway. I agreed to the high price because the install could be done on Monday (this was on Friday). We needed it done quickly because we were moving into the property the following week.

So Monday - I get a call that states the Material was not in. Tuesday... Same thing. Wednesday I am set for install. I asked 10 times to have them call me 5 min prior to arrival, and I would meet them there... I work 5 minutes from the site. I even called the morning of and again made sure they had the note... They did and said they would have them call. At 10 am I get a call stating they were at the house and no one was there... so I headed there. **That should have been clue #2.

When I pull up there is approx 7 Mexicans there, and 1 can speak English - **RED FLAG #3 - He asked me to check the product, asked for my Credit card, and asked me to sign stating the material was right. As I starting reading, I noticed it said "The job is completed to my satisfaction, and I am happy with the install." At that time I told him I did not want to sign until the job was done. I confirmed he had my number, and he said he would call me when they were done. He said it would take approx 3 hours.

After 5 hours and no call, I go to see how they are doing. NO ONE WAS THERE! ALL WINDOWS ARE OPEN! ALL DOORS ARE UNLOCKED! ALL LIGHTS ARE ON IN THE HOUSE! The carpet looked fine - the vinyl is crooked and doesn't line correctly - but I could not discuss it with anyone because they were all gone. I dont know anyone who thinks it OK to just leave a house open/all lights on and unlocked. I called the 1-800 number and was advised it was my fault for not staying for the whole install. I told everyone from the 1st phone call to the estimator to the installers that I would be at work 5 minutes away, and this was never a problem. I am extremely disappointed and unhappy!

The first half of our order we got a year ago while the other half of it, we got recently. The price was great and when the carpet was installed in our home, it was amazing. We had a window between 11:00 and something for installation, but they ended up coming at 8:00 in the morning. And that was fine with me because they finished in one day and cleaned up really nicely. They were very polite too.

I really love the carpet's color, the texture, and the padding. Everything is great. However, one of the dogs or someone had an accident up in one of our bedroom so I have to treat the carpet. I'm hoping that it stands up to what the sales rep told me, which is it's not supposed to go through to the pad and it should come off really easy. But other than that, we haven't had any stains or spills on it. Our experience overall has been extremely satisfying.

I have a lot of friends and seen other people’s houses that Empire had done and I liked it. At that time, there was like a half-price sale. So, I had Empire install some carpet in my home back in 2013. Sales representative was good and the installation team was fine. The carpet is fine too. I didn’t have any problems. I had issue in 2016 when I had to do my pipe and got a company to do it. They had to dig my basement. They didn’t test for asbestos like they should have. So when Empire came, they tested and they found it but not in the air. It was just on some of the tiles. So we sealed that but then it was kind of a whole lot of stuff. It took about three months to settle that.

I’m waiting on Empire now to do the other basement. When I got the first one done, I had thought about doing the second one at the beginning because I didn’t know they had asbestos in the tile. My tile was special order. When that came, I don’t know what they had to work out. They worked out something with the person who did the testing and all these machines in my house. Then my daughter said, “Mom if you’re getting ready to sell the house, that’s gonna look bad because the other ones old and this is new and it’s a different color.” So I reordered. And that was December 21st and I’m still waiting.

Defective carpet installed that Empire refuses to replace - On March 29, 2017 a salesman from Empire Today came to our home and gave us a sales pitch on why having Empire install our carpet would be a great decision due to the quality, cost and customer service. He basically guaranteed their work and said if anything was wrong their customer service department stood behind their product. Although the choices were a bit limited due to the colors I wanted was not available the other carpet we decided to go with this carpet that the salesman said was relatively new but selling very well. Despite advertised sales we concluded our meeting with bill of about 1240.00 to carpet our 300 square foot family room.

We were scheduled for a April 1, 2017 installation. Installers showed up on time and were very nice. They made sure that the carpet they were about to install was what we ordered with a little swatch. I agreed that was the carpet that we had chosen. After a couple of hours the installation was complete. The head installer called me to look at the final product. I gave a quick glance and said it was fine and thanked them. But after looking at other areas of the room I noticed there were these blotchy looking circles coming. Thought the light gray patterned carpet. I ran to the door and signaled for the head installer to come back in. I showed him my concerns and he stated it was just shadows or the way the light was shining on the carpet from the window. I told him OK but stated that I may call for another opinion if I continue to see this.

I looked at the carpet more after he left and continued to see more blotchy spots as I walked on it. I even vacuumed it and the same thing was present. This was more than just carpet lines. It was weird white circles throughout. I immediately contacted our salesperson and sent him pics of what I was seeing. He said he could see what I saw and suggested that I call customer service. He stated usually in cases like these someone comes out to review and if they agree with the findings they replace the carpet. I called the 1-800 no. as he advised only to be on hold for almost 45 mins. Once someone did answer they stated that due to the fact it was the weekend someone would contact me within three days.

Within that time frame, Mr. Justin ** contacted me via phone. I explained the situation to him and he also stated what the salesman did about the process of someone coming out to take a look and potentially replacing the carpet if it was defective. I was relieved to hear that and welcomed them to come out and see it for themselves ASAP as I knew it would be obvious that what we received was indeed defective. Mr. ** asked me to send the photos first via email for further review on April 5th. On April 5, 2017 I submitted the pics. By April 6, 2017 I asked for confirmation from Mr. ** that they received the pics. On April 7, 2017 Mr. ** stated that he had received the photos and they were going to "attempt to submit a claim" on my behalf for any type of defect.

I was confused by the verbiage alone; how does one attempt to submit a claim? They are either submitting a claim or not? What happened to someone coming out to look at the carpet? Surely a decision could not be made from pictures alone although they did display the blotches as well. I asked was the claim submitted or not and how long it would take to hear back. Mr. ** stated on April 10th that it could take anywhere from 1-4 weeks. When I asked why no one was coming out and also asked why we never received a contract from Empire Mr. ** became snippy with me and stated that a PIQR submission was the only way any replacement or repair could be done and once anything comes back he'd follow up. Anything?? Do they usually not come back with anything.

Customer service was completely unacceptable all the way around in this case! He should have been on the phone in a courteous manner with a call from his supervisor with conclusive procedures rather than acting like they may or may not submit something or that they were doing us a favor by trying to correct the defective carpet we received. Needless to say I receive not a call but another email today April 18, 2017 stating that the claim was denied by the inspections group. They are calling the white blotches all over my new carpet white lines or prints which are characteristic of this carpet. This was not evident in the sample piece I looked at and what they are referring to what sounds like vacuum lines not these circular blotches which I specifically discussed with Mr. **, never stating anything about white lines.

The only resolution offered to my husband and I is that we replace the carpet. The only thing Empire can do is to offer it to us at a discounted rate while still being responsible for this defective carpet that was installed on April 1, 2017. Never in my life have I felt so mistreated, mislead and bamboozled by a company that prides themselves on customer service! They did not even have the decency to send someone out to look at the carpet or allow us to speak to someone in person or on the phone more professional or knowledgeable than our salesperson or Mr. **. Also to date we still have not received our actual contract although we have requested it numerous times! This situation needs to be rectified by Empire Today as this is no way to treat their customers.

Two rooms (Carpet to Hardwood) $3,400 some dollars: ok a little much, but I'm willing to pay over a 1 year period because I know next to nothing about flooring. But we have a step up exiting one room, That part was left unfinished and it's in our contract. We wanted to switch a small 1ft by 2ft step up to the tile we already have on this step up. Extra material is there and Empire will not work with us!!

#1. Re-Scheduling confusion... no warning until day of "Tech will be there in an hour". (I'm at work). #2 They will not install two pieces of tile that we have on location. Not their material so they can't touch it... We are talking about a 1ft by 2ft area and they will not Bend!!! #3 (another option suggested - shot down) Empire said they are not willing to knock off some of the bill for unfinished work.

We are happy with the job that was done and the material is beautiful! However this one step-up is causing some distress! It's hard to believe that Empire will not work with us and now we are left to finish the job ourselves and pay for complete bill as if they finished it!!! (Not too happy about that). We hope that Empire will reach out and make this right!!!

We had a laminate flooring put in by Empire Today. I liked the color of the laminate better and I also liked the fact that Empire was an established company. And I could go back to them if there is anything wrong. The flooring is easy to care for and has exceeded my expectations. If we ever decided to do the bedrooms, I will definitely call Empire. I'm so happy with what they did and the crews that they had here to put it in and the way they worked. It was a wonderful experience.

We had Empire Today install carpeting in the living room upstairs. We used Empire before and we were happy with them so we went with them again. They also had a sale going on at that time. The installation team did a very good job, and they were quick, too. I like that our new flooring feels like a cloud when I walk on it. I love it. It makes the room look bigger and makes the furniture stand out. It's a very light off-white. It's an ugly orange flooring before so it's a world of difference. Overall, our experience was very efficient and nice.

Do not ever do business with Empire Today! I signed a contract with Empire for window blinds on March 8th and was told to expect delivery & installation in three weeks or less. On March 31st, I called Empire to find out when they'd be installing the blinds as I was scheduling my working related travels. I was told that no one could talk with me at that time, but someone would call me back within 24 hours. No contacted me. I called back on the April 3rd & was told another lie about customer service calling me back. I requested a refund at that time, as well and was given a request for refund number. No one called me back & my work travels had now, been set up.

I called back on the 6th to complain about Empire's lack of professional behavior & the lies they were telling me. This customer service person WAS professional and she informed me that she had left a message for the Installation Coordinator and she would definitely be calling back the next day (7th). Well, she did not! In fact, I called her mid-day on the 7th, instead. This person spun lies and tried to blame the delay on me & then on back-up. As to why she had not called me back, she never answered my question.

By this time I was so furious that I had extreme difficulty in controlling my anger but I did. I notified the so-called Installation Coordinator that I would be posting my complaints any and everywhere that I could to help others avoid the horribly unprofessional, lying, and useless individuals who could care less about its customer at Empire! As far as a refund, I couldn't get my money back since they were a custom order and I will be allowing the installer to hang the blinds, reluctantly. Do not do business with the liars at Empire as they don't care about your business with them unless it is time for you pay them.

My flooring looks very nice, but the trim leaves a lot to be desired. Some of the walls have moulding so far and then it stops. Some of the previous moulding that was put back on wasn't matched and there is a gap between the pieces and they are uneven. I've contacted my salesperson to see what he thinks I should do. The two flooring people worked very hard to lay the floor and it's very pretty, but I believe the moulding needs to be fixed. It is very noticeably slipshod... It is very hard to get a hold of someone at the office. No one answers the phones and all the voice mails are full and you can't leave a message.

The salesperson was very nice and helpful. We had to wait a week and a half for installation. I received a call from someone telling me the day before that the installer had a personal emergency. Ok I can understand that. They rescheduled for the next morning. NOTHING so at 9:30 I called the 800 number. They said they were at the warehouse loading. About an hour later I received a call apologizing that the installers car broke down on his way to Birmingham from Atlanta and there were no other installers in this area. SERIOUSLY? So the 800 number guy lied to me, hmmm.

They rescheduled for Monday "early" morning. So I am waiting now on day 3, Monday. It’s 11:15 NOTHING. I have called the salesperson and requested my deposit returned. We had three additional rooms we were going to let you do but I will never use this company again. I didn't actually get to use them this time. I have rearranged my schedules and lost valuable time and money waiting on them. I am over it, on to Lowe’s. Don't know why I didn't go there in the first place.

We had laminate flooring installed by Empire Today. It's beautiful and we're very satisfied with how it looks. Empire's cost was fairly inexpensive and I also liked the fact that they would move the furniture for us. They were very attentive. When they arrived, they showed us the laminate to make sure it was the correct product that we had picked out. And they surveyed what they needed to do, told us what they were going to do, and how they were going to do it. Them explaining to us where they were going made us feel more confident in walking out of the room and just letting them do the install. It was a very good experience and I would definitely recommend them again.

It was our second time with Empire and we had them install our carpet flooring. We wanted better grade carpet. However, my wife was upset about the stain that she can see on the carpet. We reached out to their customer service and they came out and looked at it. First, they sent a technician and then they sent some specialist manager, but nothing got done. They said they could redo it but it'd be at our cost. We just had the carpet put in which doesn't make sense and I'm not sure who's responsible for that. The crew was great and installation was quick, fast and courteous, but I couldn't recommend Empire Today at this time. My wife wanted me to put a big sign in the back of my pickup truck: "Do not buy Empire Today."

We had a LVP floor installed in Sept 2015. We selected LVP floor for the entire house (approx 1850 sq ft). The total cost was over $13,000. The installers left the job unfinished (kick panels not installed and molding around walls not completed). We were told someone would be back to finish that work. Eventually after some weeks, the molding was installed, but the kick panel under the sink and dishwasher fell apart later. The following summer, we noticed the floor in the kitchen was lifting off the subfloor. After repeated to local C/S mgr Ryan **, we were told that this laminate had issues being used in areas under direct sunlight. Mr. ** suggested putting tile in the kitchen but we rejected this as we wanted what we were promised. Mr. ** then told us that the floor should be glued down. He said that this would violate the manufacturer's warranty, but Empire Today would provide their own warranty.

After several more weeks, a workman appeared, assessed what needed to be done, and said more workman were needed as he could not perform the work alone. The following week, the workman returned explain he was told to do the best he could. He spent 3 days gluing down the marked area. Glue worked up through the cracks in the floor. We were told to wipe the glue with a wet paper towel, but that does not eliminate the problem. We also noticed that there were gaps and misaligned panels. This in October 2016. Since then phone calls and emails have gone unanswered, except for messages that Mr. ** will get back to us next week (November 2016-April 2017).

Have to say I received great service from Empire Today from the super informative sales rep to the super fast installers. Had no major issues at all. There was a lot of mess outside the house during installation but they didn't leave one piece of debris after they left. There was one issue with only half the materials being placed on the truck but that was fixed and installed the following day. All in all would definitely recommend. I had hard woods and carpet installed.
