Service was good the second time around. First time no one came to install as per schedule. No call from Empire. I had to call second date set up. It went well. Time to pay l was told I had 10 percent off but to pay full amount and rest would be sent. This still has not happened after repeated calls. Not a good way to serve the customer.

I had a great experience with Empire... from ordering to installation. The choice were excellent to chose from... everything was explained. The installation went really well and were able to complete in one day. The employees were all helpful in any questions I had and took the time to see that all questions were answered.

Excellent installers! Good salesperson, quick response to my online request for information. Easy, user-friendly online system. Very good follow through at each step of the job and beyond. Only way company could improve is by more choice of carpeting at competitive pricing.

The installation of standard grade carpet in 3 bedrooms, hall, closets and family room was seamless. Julio offered me a fair price, and the installation team was prompt, quick and very personable. I would recommend Empire to my friends. Great product at a fair price.

The floors themselves look great, and the installers were professional, respectful, and easy to work with. However, Empire Today sent the wrong materials for the stairs! This resulted in the installers having to come back for a third day (and me having to take off work) to complete the job. Empire did give me a significant refund, but I had to fight for it (they originally offered a $150 refund, which I found insulting). Overall, it was fine, but Empire should have (1) sent the correct materials in the first place, and (2) when they realized their mistake, offered a fair refund.

We were extremely satisfied with the entire process. From the first visit picking out the floors to the installation. Because we had no furniture moved into the house yet, it was easier for the installation crew to complete the job in one day! This impressed me so much. I was expecting three days. The product, engineered hardwoods, is stunning. I have had nothing but wonderful compliments on how the floors look and my new home in general. Thank you Empire Today! Job well done!!

We had a friend that works for Empire Today and the product was in our price range so we had the entire floor of our duplex installed with carpet and vinyl. We had trouble with one side because the installer didn't install it right. There are air pockets in between and we wanted to have another installer repair it but they insisted that the one that messed it up needed to fix it. We still have trouble with it and I don't know when it's going to be finished. I hope that that's still in process because right now the carpet is coming out from the metal strip even when they nailed our pocket doors shut. They should have somebody go through it who knows what they're doing and make sure that everything's right the second time because I think the person that messed it up probably was new and doesn't really know what's wrong with it.
Your satisfaction is important to us, and we sincerely regret to hear that you were not satisfied with your installation experience. We'll be in contact with you soon to further address your concerns.

Hardwood laminate flooring was installed by Empire in my apartment and I'm happy with it. It’s for the bedroom, the hallway and the way to the bathroom. Compared to the other company that's downtown, I only had to call Empire. It was all on the TV. My rug has been there since 1983 and I wanted only an indoor or outdoor rug. But since Empire Today already had my deposit, I decided to do it with the wood lamination.

They started off good with the sales person getting to our house on time. She was very helpful coming up with options within our price range. We settled on carpet laminate & baseboard and got dates for install all set up for just a few days later. Then things started to go downhill from there. We received a confirmation that the install was set and we just needed to call to confirm. When we called to confirm they didn't have us set up for the dates we had asked for so then we had to sit on the phone for 40+ minutes trying to figure out what happened. The call ended in them saying they would make the original dates happen even if they had to work on it through the night (yeah right).
The next day was suppose to be laminate install day. We called to make sure it was on only to be told they aren't coming and someone had set our installs for different dates? Now we had taken vacation days for nothing and the dates set would not work with my wife and my work schedules so now we have a house ready for the install with stuff piled in rooms and bathrooms and we now have to wait 3 weeks for the final phase of the install instead of 1 week. To make it worse we contacted the sales lady to see what happened and she starts off the conversation saying "I know it's probably not your fault but." I know it's not our fault because we didn't change anything. Your company did!!!
So after that conversation we called to find out who made the changes without contacting us first and found out it was our sales lady!!! We now are by-passing her and working straight with the scheduler. We also were told we would receive a call the next day (yesterday) to confirm new dates and discuss some kind of comp for our inconvenience and of course so far we have not received a call. I am very unimpressed with the professionalism of this company so far! We have probably spent over 2 hours on the phone with them mostly on hold and we still haven't got anything installed. I am just keeping my fingers and toes crossed that the product and their work is better than what I have received so far from them.
Update to my last post. Our house has been taken apart and ready for install for over 3 weeks now because of Empire's screw up in the scheduling dept. The laminate was finally installed on July 3rd (originally scheduled for June 21st) and the installers were great. They were fast and friendly and did great work. Then we had to wait until the July 18th to do the carpet install which was done yesterday. Again the installers were great. The baseboards were scheduled to be finished today but once again Empire has screwed up and didn't schedule anyone because they said we told them the baseboards had been done??? Why would we tell them they had been done when they haven't???
We now have taken 2 days soon to be a 3rd day off of work for no reason because of Empire's scheduling screw-ups!! We told them to get someone out today but they said they couldn't pull anyone off a job, but it's perfectly fine to inconvenience us to have to take another day off work so they can come tomorrow!!! Empire's installers are great and their product is nice but their customer service is terrible and very unorganized!!! And don't be fooled by whoever supposedly answers these reviews. We have yet to be contacted by anyone from Empire and have not been offered any kind of compensation for all their screw-ups and the inconveniences they have caused us. This job was suppose to be done on July 3rd. It's currently July 18 and we still waiting for this to be completed. I will never recommend anyone to use Empire.
We have read your review and sincerely regret to hear that you were inconvenienced by this matter. Your satisfaction is important to us, and we'll be following up with you shortly to learn more.

The affordability and customer service were the reasons I decided to go with Empire Today. Being able to upgrade the carpet and the padding was what I was seeking in the first place, and this company was the only one out of several that allowed me to do that within my budget. I wouldn’t have done it if they weren’t affordable. They also have very good customer service, especially with regards to the salesperson I dealt with.
Ed is the salesperson. He was the deciding factor. But from the tons of reviews that I’ve been reading from different vendors, I was concerned about who they hire to install it. Because I can have a great sales experience but have a terrible installation experience. Having considered that aspect, I was very nervous. But they’ve exceeded everything that I had anticipated. They showed up on time and did not fiddle around. I also gave them no excuse to do that because clearly, I moved all the furniture. It was just an empty space so it would allow them no room to do that. But I don’t think that that would’ve made a difference based on the professional ethics and the way that they carry themselves.
The carpet had been installed over a month now, in the two bedrooms and in a living room. I wanted everything on my list and I received the carpet that I wanted. This is a point that I think is important. I could not anticipate what it would look like once it was installed. Even though I'm picking out a sample, I have to think about what it’s going to look like under our light and those types of things. With the color and particular style of carpeting that I picked, I was very pleasantly surprised that it was a good decision. But the most favorite part, in addition to that, is the padding. It's extremely comfortable and the quality is very good.
When the installers showed up, I could inspect the carpet and see if it is to my liking and if it is what I purchased. They do that ahead of time. If anytime I'm not happy with it even during the installation, I can have it returned. Those are the things that I didn’t expect that I did not have to emphasize. They showed that to me and followed the protocol. Those details are important, and are the things people take for granted as a consumer because they want good people to come in and install it and have no hiccups or no confrontation. I would recommend Empire Today very much. I was very happy and that’s rare to get every aspect of my purchase accomplished. I have gone through the wringer with even just trying to get estimates with local companies and nationwide companies. So, I consider myself fortunate.

When my daughter-in-law was selling her house, she called Empire and they did such a good job. It helped sell her house, and she told me that if I'm going to put carpeting, go to Empire. So I had them install the carpet in the master bedroom, the office, down the hall and down the steps. I love the color and they did a really good job. The installers moved the furniture and were wonderful. The two of them did it so fast and it turned out beautiful. I didn't have any questions left unanswered.

The sales rep came to my house, showed me sample flooring. I was looking to put in vinyl wood plank floating floor for around 800 square feet. First the quote came back way high. I told them no thank you then they came back with price cut in half! I should have walked away then but I didn't. I kept installation date the same 3 days away. When the guys arrived the plank I ordered was cheap thin and not like what the sales guy showed me. No name of product on the boxes just #. I called the company and complained. They said the sales guy would call me. He never did. I refused the installation. I ordered my floor from another flooring company (Lumber Liquidators) got what I ordered from them. I don't know how this company stays in business. Bait and switch and overpricing the job by 50%.

If you want to pay a large amount of money, take a second day off work to have the same installers come out and make it way worse and then tell you that this carpet never looks good, then you found your place. Want installers that hide shoddy work by placing furniture in front of/over everything they destroyed? This is the place for you. First, while their installers were here, they had to tear out entire sections because they put the planks down in the wrong direction. I spent $20000 having new wood flooring throughout my house. After only two years, black has seeped up through the wood and turned 80% of the wood to black streaks. They are not willing to back their product and repair the damage. On top of that, they want me to pay them $100 to come out to tell me it's not their fault! This company should be sanctioned for their horrible practices.

I got Empire's name off the TV and I had also gotten information through the mail because I called them before I got my floor done. The guy texted me if I wanted some catalogs. My girlfriend also used Empire and she gave me hers. So, I had the information that I read and looked at. I then had the guy to come out here one day so I could see the colors.
I had laminate flooring installed in our two bedrooms, den, hallway and living room. I glanced over other products but they didn't match my kitchen and they all didn’t look interesting. I like the color of the ones I got. Whereas most people put it all in the same color, I had no intentions of doing that. I also didn’t want to take up the kitchen which is right by the hallway. So, my choice was a perfect match and they go beautifully together. White wouldn’t have gone that well. It was also a good price compared to some of the others. I got mine was on sale. However, some wax may have been on the flooring but some didn't have it. If someone walked in the front door, they wouldn’t notice it. But I do because I look at it every day.
The installers who came were good, very polite, they did their job, and they didn’t mess around. When they thought they weren’t going to finish, they asked me if it’d be okay if they completed the job because it was getting close to after working hours. I told them that was okay with me 'cause the sooner customers can get something done, they’re happy. So, they stayed here until they finished the whole job. They said that they would come back the next day and get the garbage and they did that. They didn’t come that morning but they called me, which was very nice, and then they came in the afternoon. They also called to see what was wrong without me calling again. If I wanted installers again, I would recommend them and ask for them. They were excellent employees and Empire Today should be grateful.
But I’m having problems with bugs and they’re up on the wall. I’ve had plants for over 50 years and I don’t want to take them off the patio and put them away. I also don’t want the tent put on the house because I don’t want to kill my plants. And so, I have my house checked several times during the year because I have a contract that I can call the exterminator out any time. But I don't think the installers would put the flooring down knowing that there are bugs in them. I don't know what they saw when they opened up the packages, but they would have called me and told me that I'm gonna have to go and get more packages. This morning, their rep called me and told me to take pictures and sent them to her. Otherwise, it's good stuff that I have from Empire. I had a fantastic experience with the installers and I’m very happy.

Empire Today treated us so poorly. They kept changing the dates of delivery and jerked us around that we had to cancel the order and go with a different company. At first they said that somebody forgot to order the product so they switched the laminate install with our vinyl install. The vinyl was supposed to be installed separately in the bathroom. They did the vinyl first although the day before the install of the laminate, they called to confirm the install the next day.
They took my payment of $6,000 over the phone. They got everything squared away and since somebody had to be here for the install, my mother drove all the way out from Idaho and got here at 12 noon only to receive a call from me saying that the manager said the product never arrived. I was called minutes before my mother pulled into the driveway. I told the manager that my mother was here and he said, "Well, think of it -- This is a good time to visit." I said I could Skype and talk to my mother all the time, I don't need to see her face-to-face, especially making a 72-year old woman drive like that. I know how powerful reviews are to the consumer, being a consumer myself. We use them to get to know a product/company. I had posted about my negative experience with Empire—yet never did a say the flooring was not beautiful. I was very unhappy about a “miscommunication” where I ended up being charged much more than agreed upon. I called in to Empire and as I shared in my original post I got juggled around with no resolve and a simple, “well you are in a contract.” Apparently, I wasn’t getting a hold of the right person. Finally, this past Friday, July 28, I received a call from Anthony **, who had been working on my issue without my knowing and called to reach a resolution, not only did he listen to what I had to say and understood my concerns, but he stood by what was right and found the error in billing and credited my account back to the original terms. I wish I would have spoken with him in the first place. Obviously, I cannot erase my review, and without resolve I would still be angered, but I can say being that a resolution has been reached, pretending this never happened and even with it happening I must say I am 100% satisfied with my product and service (now). If it would have been this way in the first place that 5-star review would have come sooner. Putting this aside at the end of the day I got great carpet and vinyl flooring that looks outstanding (which I said before) and for a great price being back at regular correct pricing terms. Companies big or small, just like people make mistakes and while I was angry I am happy now. I think the fact that they stood behind their product and honored the pricing they originally gave me shows they actually do care about the consumer and deserve some better credit. Note to Empire today: it is employees like Mr. ** that are truly an asset to your company and you should use him as a model employee in training the others this way and perhaps when an issue arises a remedy can be accomplished faster or at least get to the right person from the beginning. When working with people, you need employees that care and have effective communication skills which Mr. ** has mastered all around!

Deceptive Practices and Pricing. I recently had carpet and vinyl flooring installed in my home. It is very nice, but it better be for the big price tag and bill I got AFTER being told I would be paying something else. We needed flooring and I shopped around with Empires competitors and then empire convinced me to at least do their free estimate saying they'd match the competitor. Of course when sales rep came out he found a reason to say we cannot match the flooring unless it's apples to apples. Of course the other companies don't use the same brand flooring... Go figure... But then he goes on to say I can come close to the pricing to downgrading you to the 15 year wear warranty instead of the 30 years and cut a room out and come pretty close to the competitors price. They were a little shy of 2500 in final costs and my competitor was just under 2000. In the end as he kept pushing this amazing warranty we decided to spend a little more.
I financed some of the purchase at 6 months interest free. Gave a 757 down payment and was told I would have an almost 1700 balance financed with a payment of about 50 monthly, but of course put more to take advantage of interest free in 6 months. The salesman after all his talking rushed me through signing because he was now running late for dinner. He was "sign here here and here" 4 different signatures in all. This is just got the Fortiva app and setting up/confirming installation dates. Never gave a breakdown of pricing or a total price in the writing. Said that would all be mailed to me. Well guess what I got a bill that totals 3000 for the finance company. So add that to the 757 I paid already that's almost 3800 for flooring. They are out of their minds! I would not pay double for all that I would have went with the competitor and had all the floors done. Ugh...so frustrating.
So then I call fortiva who says call empire and the only thing they say is "well you signed the contract, the contract is a binding document." Yes dummies I know what a contract is, but it is also not right to misrepresent a price in the sales. Let me backtrack to where they said the almost 2500 was for the carpet alone. They charged the vinyl separately. Our salesman said it was for everything! Almost like they trick you into something. I told them to credit me back to come to the original terms or take back all the flooring and reimburse me and call it even. All I get is that I signed a contract and it doesn't work like that. Seriously a business that is dependent on customers isn't interested in investing in customer satisfaction and attempting to remedy the situation.
Lady today from corporate said someone else will contact me because she can't tell me anything other than I am in a contract. They are probably going to juggle me around until they think I'll give up. Crazy outrageous business and sales tactics that takes no consideration to care for their customers. Once they make the sale and have their money they just don't care... Highly annoyed, and frustrated. Will never recommend them!

Empire Today advertised their 1/2 price deal of the century and it's all bull. Firstly, the person who showed up for our free estimate was unbelievably pushy. He started out friendly but when he realized my elderly mother wasn't going to be browbeaten into giving him an answer, he became rude and stormed out. That was after quoting us over $7000.00 to put flooring in a room that is under 400 square feet! That is outrageous and shows they are willing to overcharge and then the 1/2 price will bring it down to what it would cost normally. When he realized my mother wasn't going to let him bully her, he literally started walking out the door before she was even done writing down the quote.
These people are a scam and ripoff. You can find local handymen who will do just as good a job as these charlatans and pay half the price and have your money go into someone's pocket who deserves it instead of a greedy cow of a company like Empire that doesn't even train their estimators to not be complete **. We'll be using a friend of ours who does great work for less than half of their half price. All in all, disgusting customer service and a false discount.

I must say the actual product of laminate flooring and carpet are high quality and beautiful, however their customer service is a complete joke. I spent 13,000 dollars on 2005 square feet worth on laminate and carpeting. My downstairs was done is the walnut laminate and is beautiful. The installer hooked up my refrigerator incorrectly and as we were not yet living in the house, water leakage occurred in the kitchen and entry way. Water went under the laminate causing it to buckle. When I called customer service it took three tries before an actual person returned my call. When I finally got a call back, the "no questions asked guarantee" did not happen. I was questioned to the point of almost accusing that I had connected the appliance incorrectly.
They called the installer and thank goodness they were honest and said they had done it. It took over a week to get the installer back out to look at the damage, mold had started growing on my new house floors and trim at this point. They ripped out the damage and let it dry saying they would be back in three days to reinstall. Not only did they not show up, I had to again call the horrific customer service people - Jared in particular, and track down what was going on. No call no show. Had scheduled someone to be at my home since I work, just wasting their time waiting on installers that were not coming. Jared at customer service was completely useless and I had to request to speak with a manager. A manager was not available so they promised to call me back. Which they did and I got to deal with Ashley.
She was apologetic and listened to my frustrations with the entire process however was only able to blame all the "miscommunication" on the installer. So here I am with no recourse. I cant get my money back because I will have no flooring, I cannot get anyone out any sooner. I have half a kitchen floor and movers are coming tomorrow - the same day they are supposed to fix their mistake. If I could have it all ripped out and get my money back I would. I was offered nothing in compensation for my frustration or time lost at work. If you have any other options for flooring go with it because Empire Today's warranties are absolute crap.
Their customer service people pass the blame onto installers as if it is the client's fault they have communication issues. My sales consultant will only text me because she doesn't want to deal with my issues. Wonder what commission on 13000.00 dollars was? Maybe I should get phone calls in response. Over all I am so very disappointed in this. It’s stressful enough buying a new home and moving but this lack of respect as a customer is unacceptable in today's consumer environment.

The sales person started with grossly inflated price and then gave "discounts" to bring it in line with other estimates I had received. The product, LVP, is beautiful. The installation was timely and fast. Unfortunately, the installers scratched the flooring across five planks, then left the couch over the scratch. 15 minutes after they left, we lifted the couch and moved it, finding the scratch. After immediately calling customer service, we received a call back asking for pictures, which I sent. A call back a couple days later said we should go buy some touch up and fix it ourselves. After looking into it for a multi-colored floor, I called back to let them know they needed to make it right. Over a week later, I sent an email to the customer rep asking for contact and response. It has now been another week and a half with no response. I had intended to do additional rooms when funds allowed, but not now.

In terms of cost and quality, Empire Today is comparable to other brands but I liked what they had. I had some sort of vinyl installed in the family room, kitchen and dinette area. The material looks like tile and they put it down like tile and grouted. The installation took two days, as scheduled. But they had to get everything out of the kitchen so we had to go out to eat, which is fine, but it was a mess for a while.
It was the first time we've ever had Empire Today do anything and they did what we asked them to do. However, the sales rep had told us they would put an underlayment but the installers said it wasn't needed. We already paid for it so I called Empire and they gave us credit. Also, I was surprised that they wouldn't even start without us paying for it. But overall, I'm very satisfied with the experience.

Empire Today are a bunch of clowns that don't deserve one penny of your hard earned money. I have endured more than the cost of my carpet in lost wages due to their ineptitude. First, it took more than a month just to have my carpet prepared for installation. That's right... 30+ days for a piece of carpet. Then they sent 3 installers to my home WITHOUT EVEN MAKING AN APPOINTMENT! My wife happened to be home with our daughter, 2 of the 3 didn't speak any English. The one who did was sparse, and my wife couldn't understand what he was trying to tell her. So the installers decide to invite themselves into the house against my wife's wishes. I had to rush home because she was quite shaken. When I got there, the installers were taking measurements (something that was done a month prior) then claimed not to have the correct carpet and left.
That was 2.5 weeks ago. I called to cancel my order and the cancellation department was apologetic, cut my price back 25% and said they would return to install on 12 July 17 at 8 AM. At 9 AM I contacted them and they said they have nothing scheduled for my installation at all. Please don't waste your money. Find someone who respects your home, your family, your time, and your money. I recommend ANYONE OTHER THAN EMPIRE to install your flooring. Please heed my warning and stay away from this terrible company.

The installation was much quicker than I thought it would be. I got the carpet that was pet-friendly and I like its color and its stain resistance. In terms of durability, it seems to be working out. It was a pleasant experience from the time we chose the carpet to the day of the installation. Everything went as I was told it would and I would recommend them.

I had some carpet installed in my living room, dining room, and my stairs by Empire. There was another brand that I called, but I wasn't that satisfied. Empire's cost was satisfactory. They also had more variety to choose from and that was the most important to me. I was surprised about something that they did, but it worked out all right. The living room flows into the dining room. The last carpet that I had laid over 20 years ago was all the way through. With Empire, the installer cut the carpets. They put it in the living and the dining room and started in the dining room. Maybe that is the way that they do it today though. If I'd look hard enough, I could see the seam where it stopped and started. But it doesn't bother me and no one else would pay attention to it.
What I really like about the experience is that when I called them to come out, they were here within a few days and the carpet was laid. I did not have to wait for a long time and I was really impressed by that. But there was an overcharge and I was a little bit upset about that. They wanted to take the carpet out of the van and they had to have somewhere to lay it before they bring it in. They couldn't do it in my garage because I have things in there and there was nowhere else to lay the carpet. One of the installers said that if they try to do it outside and it would rain, that would be a problem. And he asked me to sign something saying that I would not hold them responsible if anything happened which of course I wouldn't do. I told them "Look, it's not raining now. You are professionals. Do your job." That's what happened and everything worked out. It didn't rain after all.
Nonetheless, I would recommend Empire to a friend. I'm satisfied and I love the carpet. I like the quality and the color. It's a very pale purple. When I brush my hand across one way, it's light. And if I brush my hand the other way, it's dark. It blends with my furnishings and what I have. My husband is crazy about it, too. The only thing that I really want which I called about is someone to send me some information on the care. If I or someone else spills something on it, what is the best clean up method to use?

We like Empire Today's product and I purchased laminate floors because my little dog has sharp nails and I didn't want the hardwood to be torn up by it. The installers did a beautiful job in my dining room, living room, hallway and bedroom. The floors look great and I love them, but they squeak when I walk on them. We called customer service and my daughter even talked to the manager. They said they were going to call, but they haven't and it's been over a month. I'm sure I didn't miss the call because I haven't been leaving the house.
Empire wants their money upfront and I understand that, but I'd like to have my floors working right. I'm 77 and I'd like to enjoy them before I go. Everybody that saw the floors said they look good, but the squeaking is everywhere, including in the dining room, down the hall, and in my room, so it's not the installer's fault. The product had a flaw in it. Things like that happen and I'm not mad about it, but I'm getting mad because they haven't fixed it. I want Empire to take them out and put some new ones in. I'm sorry they're going to lose money, but I paid $5,000 for it.

We had our whole first floor done with carpets and we had a floor that looks like tile and it's like a little hard tile but it's not tile.
The installation was a little bit rough but not as bad as I thought it would be. We had it done on a Saturday and it took up my weekend. Empire Today was recommended highly to me by someone who used them before. I had them install flooring in the hallway, living room, dining room, kitchen and wash area of my home. I had a great sales rep and she was very thorough. She was also very knowledgeable which was what I was looking for. However, the installation was not a pleasant situation. The first time, Empire's installers came, they could not install because I had a break in my floor and I had to call a carpenter to have that repaired. Furthermore, we had a language barrier with the installers. On the second attempt, it was raining the day they were supposed to come out and my garage wasn't big enough for them to cut what they needed to.
The third time, they could not complete the installation because they measured wrong. During that process their installers damaged my stove. The fourth time, they came back to finish the installation and we had a language barrier again with that installer. He was supposed to take a look at our stove but he didn't know anything about it. And so, that didn't go well. It took almost 30 days before I got a resolution for the stove.
I wasn't pleased with Empire's process at all because I was told one thing and that didn't happen. I finally had to go to the headquarters and was told something else which worked. The person who delivered the first message for Empire didn't care at all because the information she had given me was totally wrong. That was not a good experience and it put a damper on me. While I'm satisfied with the flooring and I liked its color, it would be helpful if everybody was on the same page especially if there was some damage involved.

We had a salesman come today to give us a quote. We are ready to buy and were very excited about the sale since we know Empire has good quality material. We really liked the salesman. He was very friendly and helpful, and we had no problem choosing a laminate that we liked. However, the price quoted is criminal, extortion really... Are you ready?? $39,000 for 1600 sq. ft. of laminate. But, don't worry. On sale, it's only $19,500! Killer deal. In case you don't want to do the math, apparently the original price of the laminate installed by Empire is $23 per sq. ft.! It must be made with gold flakes. Half price is $11.50 per sq. ft., which is more reasonable for full-price high-quality material, but certainly not any sort of sale.
Doubling the original price and then reducing it by 50% is NOT a sale, and such a poor sales tactic in this case is obvious. I called customer service, and while the agent was helpful and seemed as outraged as myself, her manager said, "It could be correct" and would not budge on the price. Well, this is the third property I have installed flooring in a property during the last three years, and I will obviously not be moving forward with your company. Very disappointed. Buyer beware!

Empire’s a reputable company. My girlfriend is a real estate agent and she gave me some scenarios where even she had clients that were really happy with them. I used them and did the loan in my husband’s name but Dana, the salesperson that came to our house put it in my name. I found that out the day we were supposed to have the carpet installed and it made some kind of snafu because the names didn’t match.
The people who came to install said that they had a CD and I said that we got a loan and we don’t owe them money. And so, I called the Dana told her the situation. I asked if she could switch into my husband’s name. She said that there's another piece of paper that needed to be filled out. It’s just that the installation cannot be done that day. I asked if she could scan and fax the paperwork then I could scan it back to her as I have a scanner at my house. She was like, “No” and she just immediately got rude. My interpretation of her behavior was she was defensive because there was a problem.
If only she would handle it like she was sorry and that she would call somebody to see if she can get some paperwork over just so that the carpet can be installed that day. Even if she said it nice, I would have understood, but she didn’t. She got real defensive and raised her voice at me. I got pissed and I was like, “I just spent $3000 with your company. I'm not gonna be talked to like this. You made a mistake. You need to fix it. I'm gonna report your company to the Better Business Bureau.” And she said, “It doesn’t affect me. I don’t care.” She was so nasty and I could not believe a salesperson acted like that. That’s like you-need-to-be-out-of-the-door behavior. I was crying and the sweet installer came over, patted me on the back and calmed me down. I just liked her, she was really good. I requested her to install my carpet which ended up getting done on a Monday and that was a Friday.
I talked to the sales manager and the customer service lady at Empire. They were all apologetic and they got us hooked up with another salesperson because that person had to come out and sign the new paperwork. His name was Mike. He came on Saturday and was super nice. He told us that Dana could have had another sales rep from the area including him ran over to the house because it was early enough to sign the paperwork and it would have been completely fine. Then I asked Mike if they have this thing where they would call once a year to remind us on our anniversary of our install to do the carpeting cleaning as what Dana told us and he said that they don’t do that. And so, Dana lied as well.
Everything else was perfect. They gave me $100 off and it truly came through when I got my bill, it was only $2900. They did what they were supposed to do. It's more of a good reflection on Empire because they cleaned it up without Dana. I freaking loved the flooring and I called it my big girl carpeting. I like the style and the comfort. My mom and I had competition like my carpet is better than hers. She came over and she's like, “No, mine is bigger and cheaper.” But my carpet is so nice. We've only had one accident. My dog has white hairs and it gets on the carpet. But I could vacuum it right off and there’s no problem. Empire Today’s pretty good, almost near excellent except for one snafu.

Our salesman was great--prompt, professional, polite, knowledgeable. Our chosen flooring (carpet and LVP) did not "qualify" for the advertised 50% discount--evidently very few products do-- but we did receive a discount of about $2500 off of a $10k job. The LVP installers were fast & did a decent job, but did not speak English. That made it hard to discuss payment or issues with the floor. The carpet installers were a little better, but they left the flooring feeling very uneven in spots under the carpet. The carpet color did not at all match the pictures I took of the sample board, but it was acceptable. We paid by check for both installs--no problems with the LVP, but it took us over an hour with customer service to process the carpet payment.
Empire processes as an e-check, but uses some 3rd party company to give approval/denial for checks, & the authorizations have nothing to do with available funds (only some algorithm this outside company uses based on check numbers and check amounts). So, for no reason, this company kept denying our payment despite the fact that there was plenty of money in account to cover the payment. I almost cancelled the job and ordered carpet elsewhere, but we were finally able to work it out.

However, the installer realized during demolition that we may have asbestos and had to stop the work. NO papers were signed that day for our kitchen and the appliances were moved back into the kitchen and the guy left. We were unable to go into our kitchen at all because the floors were half way torn apart and we had to block them off with a baby gate since our son is 10 months old and crawls, and since we have a dog. The following day, a new crew of installation guys came to put down LVP flooring instead and we went into the kitchen. That is when I seen the fridge. The installer said to call our sales rep right away which I did and sent her a picture and she said no worries Empire will take care of it.
I signed the Completion papers for the new crew that came on Tuesday in which they did a great job and there were no issues at all with them. 2 weeks later, I get an email from Empire stating that only $200 will be credited to my account. I am livid and still fighting this because the doors should be 100% replaced. I do not want a credit on my account but new doors to be put on my new Samsung fridge that we just purchased 4 months ago. I am very disappointed with the way Empire is handling this situation. I assumed when I purchased wall to wall carpeting that it would only be pieced if it was absolutely necessary to accommodate the size of the room. Extremely disappointed with the carpeting. Even though it looks nice now I don't feel it was installed properly or that it will last.

I was not happy with the time the workers got here as the sales guy said they would be there in the morning. In fact they arrived at 2:30 PM. It takes awhile to ascertain the quality of the new wood floor, so not much can be said at this point. The workers who put in the floor did a fine job. Overall I think initial indications are very favorable.

Salesman said it was against company policy to break down material and labor costs. Made me very untrustful of Empire business tactics. To be charged over $3500 for a 510 sq. ft area with laminate seems extremely expensive. I do however, love the floor and the installation crew you contracted was very professional.

The new flooring works for all of us and it's above our expectations. A great experience overall.

It's been a month and still don't feel good about the experience. The installers tore the cover on my very expensive box spring when they moved it and immediately said, "We told you we are not responsible." Okay, but act like you care. Now one of the transition areas, from the bedroom to the bathroom is starting to fray. I sent in my thoughts before and asked for someone to call and no one did. I'm also disappointed with the padding. I wanted what I had and it definitely isn't the same quality. I should have just left the old padding. I'm not angry, just not satisfied.

My husband and I are just two weeks away from having our 4th child and we're finishing the basement to make more room for our growing family. We hired Empire to install the carpet and they were scheduled to come out on Friday 6/30/2017. We were given a ridiculous time frame of 9am-6pm. They didn't show up until 5:30pm in order to do the job.
They put the padding down and then informed my husband that they didn't have all of the carpet that they needed to finish the install and that they would have to come back Monday 7/3/2017 to finish it. Unfortunately my husband had to leave the house for work that day and I also had to step out to run a few errands. Of course that was when the installer showed up with no prior warning and called my husband. We were told he would return the following day. We waited around all day for him to show up and at 2pm we got a text message stating that he wouldn't be coming. My husband asked when he was available and we haven't heard from him since.
I called Empire's customer service in order to figure out what was going on and I was told we would have to wait until 7/13/2017 for the next available install... I told the cs rep that I wouldn't be waiting that long and that I wasn't happy with the way things were being handled. She moved the install date up to 7/7/2017 with the same window of 9am-6pm and told me that I had to call the morning of to get a better time frame... When she transferred me to the department that handles discounts/compensation for inconveniences I was given a runaround and told that they would give me a $50 discount, which is honestly just adding insult to injury. My husband and I paid over $1500 in full prior to the installation.
I asked for a manager and when I told him what was happening he basically told me that I shouldn't have even been offered the $50 off and that because I got a discount on the carpet itself any other discount would lose money for the company and made the implication that I should just be happy with the $50 off since he couldn't take back the offer. I told him that I was shocked that a highly recognized and reputable company would treat their customers in such a way as to blow them off. He told me that he was "Sorry that I felt that way but, thanks for calling" and hung up on me. I would most definitely recommend using a different company, one that values their clients time.

Do not do business with Empire Today. Carpet discolored 6 months after installation. Carpet installed Aug 2016, job #**. Claim filed Jan 2017, claim #**. I called each month after I filed the claim. I was told every time I called that, "These things take time, please be patient". They never called me. This month, July 5th specifically, I was told the claim was denied, but they couldn't tell me why. You should also know that if you wish to escalate your issue, this company protects their corporate offices. You cannot call corporate directly. You have to request a "ticket" through customer service and someone may call you back.
There are no pets or children on this carpet. It is discolored right in the middle of my living room after less than 6 months. Even after a professional cleaning, with Hagopian, the carpet is dramatically discolored. I can't decide which is more heartbreaking the fact that my brand new carpet is defective or the fact that I did business with a company that doesn't care. I will file in small claims court. Do not do business with this company. One last thing, I am a very reasonable person, not a chronic complainer. Do not believe I am some difficult person and this won't happen to you. Before you buy from them, test what I'm saying. Try to speak with someone at corporate as if you have a problem. You will instantly see.

The level of incompetence related to my attempts to schedule a power stretch for my [previously installed] carpet cannot be adequately communicated in the space that is allotted here. I had an appointment scheduled for July 5th 2017. It was bad enough the window for service was between 8am and 6pm (which is in itself ridiculous and shows an inability of a company to be customer focused), but on top of that, they never showed; and, I was not informed of their decision NOT to follow through with the service until I called at 3:30 in the afternoon. This blatant disregard to a customer's time causes a rage that cannot be understated.
After the appointment was rescheduled, I was promised that I would receive the first morning appointment. Of course the morning came and went and there was no show. I was then told the appointment would be in the afternoon and I should call at 1030 to receive a time window. After many calls, I was told a technician would arrive between 2 and 4. Although I have impressed upon them the need to receive a call one half hour in advance, 4 pm came near and no call was received. So I called for a status. Mind you through this entire process I have been disconnected four times -- a few of which I believe were deliberate. This frustrating process created for the customer shows a lack of professionalism and complete absence of competence in terms of managing your customer's servicing needs.
I have multiple investment properties and would like to think I could rely on this company for all my flooring related needs from installation to maintenance to repurchase; however, this experience has caused me to rethink my strategy. I will likely NEVER use the service of this company again! I am completely disgusted at the fact that I have to take time out of my busy schedule (away from my career and family) to tend to this matter with a company that has no respect for a customer's time.

Our biggest complaint is the lack of customer service since the installation of our carpet. We called our sales rep after the carpet installation and explained our issues with the carpet installation. He told us to call customer service, which we did. They said that they would have someone call us to set up an appointment to come by the house to look at the issues in question, but that never happened.
Because we left town the day after the installation, there were issues we didn't notice until we returned 4 days later. The main problem was the installation on the stairway, which, in our opinion, was done poorly. There was a visible hole in the wall near one of the steps and the cuts made to the carpet for the stairs were sloppy. We didn't think it would be a problem to have them come back out and fix those issues, but Empire dropped the ball and never followed up.

They came in and did the job and it was a great experience. The salesman wasn’t pushy and answered all my questions. I could ask him something and he would return my call where most salesmen won’t. I was very happy about that and I think it’s really imperative because a lot of times the salesman would just turn it over to the installation people then you lose contact, and if something goes wrong you can't do anything about it. I called the office and there's a girl there that was very nice and friendly but the salesman was the deciding factor.
He went out of his way and took the time even though he was busy with other things. I don't usually recommend because when I do, they fall short but Empire Today did a good job. I called Empire to have an expert advise me on the type of flooring required for my needs. I figured I would need tile flooring because I have dogs that are inside. I have another home with tile and laminate flooring and the tile has stood up. I was looking to put tile in for my ground floor. Empire sent a sales rep out. He was very nice and brought a lot of samples with him - with the exception of tile. He said that Empire was moving away from tile. He showed us some products. I told him what I was looking for. I wanted something durable, to withstand scratching from the dogs running, something that I could easily clean up dog accidents without a remaining odor. This sales rep told me that deluxe luxury vinyl plank would be the most durable material for my needs and that it would be more durable than tile. He said that it wouldn't scratch and as long as I cleaned up any accidents quickly, nothing would absorb into the product.
Now, keeping this in mind, it was my intention to put this product into the entire downstairs - including the kitchen. The rep said this product was basically bullet proof. He showed us a picture of it after installation and it looked beautiful. So, essentially he talked us out of tile from stating that this product would last longer, be more durable, and won't scratch. I had it installed mid March 2017. I didn't like the way it looked once the install was complete. It looks and feels cheap. It definitely doesn't look like the picture we were shown. More concerning are the scratches. I can run my fingernail on this product and it scratches. I have 4 dogs. They are dachshunds. It's not like they are St. Bernard's or anything. Scratches everywhere. Not what I was expecting on a product that was sold to me as more durable than tile... and especially when this was one of my specific concerns to begin with.
Also, in the kitchen, I dropped a glass in the floor and it shattered. No big deal right? Wrong. From a glass, the flooring is cut, torn, cracked... however you want to put it. I dropped a glass and it made cuts in the flooring which has exposed what appears to be cloth-like material within the plank. There are also marks in the floor from where chairs are sitting on it - with nobody sitting in them!! This product is cheap and does not stand up to what I was told when we were convinced to purchase it.
Empire is a big company so I was sure they would rectify this issue. I happened to receive a call from them marketing some other product and I voiced my concerns. The person I initially spoke to was very helpful and forwarded my information to their Lake Isabella, CA office. A Gilbert ** called me back and was so rude! I am in management and I have never heard such rudeness from a customer service rep in my life!! Arguing, interrupting... When I told him the damage that was done from a glass that I dropped on the floor, his response was, "You expect us to replace or refund your flooring because you wrecked it? If you wrecked your car, would you take it back to the dealership and demand they refund or replace it?" I was absolutely floored. Asked to speak to his supervisor and he kept sending me to voicemail.
I had my boyfriend call to speak to his supervisor and he got the same treatment. He was a bit more persistent and kept calling Gilbert back until the manager finally answered the call. The manager was very professional and called me and apologized. He said he would send someone out to assess the damage. A tech came out yesterday. He has been with Empire for 2 years. He is actually the same person that dropped off the flooring prior to install. He told me that the flooring is cheap, 2 years old and Empire was pushing it for whatever reason. He said that for my needs, tile would've been a better option and this flooring was cheap.
He acknowledged the damage from the glass I dropped and agreed that it was not the product for my needs or for the kitchen!!! A lot of things get dropped in a kitchen! He saw the scratches all over the floor and told me Empire would call me to try and repair it but they would come out and polish it with an oil that would hide the scratches until my housekeeper mopped again. This is not the product that was sold to me. He advised me to keep calling and he would send his report to Empire. I also found a piece in the bathroom that still had marks on it from when they were cutting it to install. I sent a picture to the tech and he said that those shouldn't be there. I already know that but it was nice to have more validation.
Today I received a call from Empire. Can you believe it was Gilbert?!! He told me he wanted to set up an appointment for repair. I asked, "Repair of what?" He accused me of yelling at him. When I told him I wasn't yelling, (I was at work at the time and in an office. Not going to be doing any yelling) he repeated the same thing. He wanted to set up an appointment for repair. I told him that I wanted a refund or replacement with tile as the product is not performing the way it was sold to me. He interrupted me and stated he didn't need to hear what the technician said to me and that wasn't his job. He stated that his job was to make a repair appointment. He continued to interrupt me so I couldn't speak at all! Again... unbelievable. I asked if he was the same person I spoke to 2 weeks ago and he claimed to not know. Please. I know it was him. I just wanted to see if he would acknowledge it.
Obviously, the manager didn't consider the first conversation with Gilbert as an issue. My boyfriend attempted to reach the same manager again today and was sent to voicemail again - still no return call as I write this and it is 1800. I am writing this to maybe get someone higher up's attention so maybe Empire can fix what they did. I haven't called an attorney yet as I want to give them time to fix their issue. But there are so many issues with this particular case. I just can't believe this is happening with a big company like Empire. Hopefully, they will do the right thing.
We regret to hear about your experience. We'll be in contact with you soon to learn more.
Thank you.

Wrong color carpet installed colors: Splendid vs. Stunning - During the week of April 27, 2017, carpet was installed in our home. Because my family was on spring break, we decided this was the opportune time to move furniture and ensure our new carpet was being met with the utmost cleanliness. The carpet looked amazing. We were extremely happy, as we had the interior of our home painted and so it complemented the new carpet... which was the plan! "Very happy with the outcome!"
Because our home was custom made, our bedrooms are awkward shaped and significantly large. Again, we were home on spring break, so this allowed time to put the furniture back in place and plan for the completion of the installation. (We chose to have our downstairs area master bedroom, the upstairs hallway, my office, and 2 of our upstairs bedrooms carpeted first.) We informed our sales representative that we would contact him in a week or so for the completion of the installation, as this would give us time to recoup from spring cleaning, painting and moving the furniture back in to the respective areas.
The next week, I sent a text to the sales rep's phone. I let him know we were ready to install the remaining 3 rooms. My text sent on April 19, 2017, "Hi Mr. Jim! The gentlemen were great and the carpet looks amazing. Thank you. When you have time... would you verify the cost of carpeting the last 3 rooms, please? Thank you in advance. Have a blessed rest of your afternoon." His response sent Saturday, April 22, 2017. "I'm sorry I didn't get back to you with the price on the other rooms. I'll be home in about an hour and my tablet is there and I'll call. Thanks Jim" I then went on to reply.."Hello... Not a problem. They called me due to my survey... Nothing with you, the installer questions on the survey was the reason for their call. (No walk through... On the phone with Luna for 25 minutes about an account instead of Empire, contract wasn't verified prior to installation.) Be safe! Thank you!!"
I suppose we should have seen an issue brewing at this point. So... as time progressed, the sales rep replied, "I've been having tablet issues and my pricing and diagrams have been removed from my tablet. I'm currently on vacation and will not be available until May 2. I can come over and remeasure and price those rooms that week." My response, "Hope you enjoy your vacation!! The month of May is crazy for us both. We have band concerts, recognition dinners, field trips, retirement dinners... Throughout the month. We are not home until after 6:30 May 2. Not sure what your hours are. Otherwise... I am available on Friday, May 19, but not my husband as his school district has their retirement dinner. So if papers need to be signed, he's not avail. We were hoping for May 20 installation. We are actually home on that day??? If we can't make it happen... we will look into June." -- So again... I hope you see my positivity and excitement!! The sales rep's response was "Thanks."
May 2, 2017... I sent another text, "Hello Mr. Jim! I pray your vacation was great! Can you look at your schedule and tell us when you can come for the new measurements? We want to try and get the other rooms carpeted soon. Thanks!" The next morning, we received a text, "Give me a day and time. How about Saturday morning? Around 8:30 to 9?" So, to move things along... He came over Thursday, May 4 around 8:10... After hours for him, so we were eternally grateful. He measured the rooms, told us the cost and my husband signed the contract. "I was happy... My home is almost complete with the upgrades we wanted to achieve."
Carpet installation day is Saturday, May 6, 2017. The gentlemen (2 Hispanic guys) arrived at 8:00. They provided us with info that they were there to install carpet, we verified that info to be correct. They went to the van, came in our home and went hard to work. They worked continuously! Because the last 3 rooms to complete were upstairs, we stayed out of their way and let them do their work.
Fast forwarding a bit to my disappointment... The carpet is installed and my husband and I are sought out by the older gentleman whom asked us to take a look. So with excitement, I prance up the staircase and upon looking at the first room... it appears to be slightly off from the hallway that connects it and that was installed about 2 weeks prior. As my smile begins to turn upside down, I move to the next room and the next to find the carpet color is INCORRECT! I let the installer know. He states, "This the color they give me to install." He then provides the 800 number to Empire for me to call. So, after he leaves... I'm in tears! I have 3 rooms that are totally beautiful, but the color of the carpet is absolutely off from the remaining color originally installed.
As my husband attempts to comfort me, he says, "Maybe it looks different due to the cloudy day." I advised him... "The original carpet has no signs of black specks but the newly installed carpet has it!!" I was so hurt, upset, at a loss for words. "Besides, this is our home, our investment!" After an hour of contemplating calling, my husband suggested we should pray before I contacted the company, as being upset and angry would only fuel the fire. "I listened...we prayed."
Sunday morning, I figured okay God, perfect time to call before church so I could be in the right mindset. So because we attend 8:30 service, I called around 7:45-8:00. While explaining the situation to the young lady... I advised I waited, as I was upset and angry the previous day... and I wanted to conduct business cordially. She was nice and looked to see what the issue could have been with my claim that the carpet was the wrong color. She then provided me with 2 different numbers (they were the numbers to identify the carpet colors.)
OK... So, I'm not crazy! "They are indeed 2 different colors!!" So, I go to a high pitches, "Thank you Lord", as I simply needed the reassurance that I was not seeing things, the cut made it different... You know... Trying to justify even the cloudy day may have been a factor. BUT... her verification solidified my claim!! She then stated she would send the complaint up the ladder and it could take up to 24 hours. Okay... I've gone 48... what's 24 more, right?
So, Monday, the next day...I receive a call from a very kind young lady. She listens, I tell her all of the above, she verify too... Yep, the colors are off. I then inform her, "Our trust was put with our sales rep. He was the one whom put the numbers together, the paperwork, and being the professional... we trusted he knew what to do and that he had confirmed our installation and the colors to match." Again, "he was the expert here!"
As our conversation continued, I went on to state that we moved the furniture, we waited to install the last 3 rooms, so we could properly move the furniture back." She said, "So you moved the furniture..." I replied "Yes." I was then told that in our contract we were charged for the furniture being moved... "In fact, both contracts state it!" Okay... so now, I'm getting upset yet again.
I let her know, "My son, my husband, and I moved the furniture!! In the last installment where the carpet is the wrong color... the younger gentleman assisted my husband moving a couch, but other than that... we moved it all... taking the beds down, putting them back up, moving dressers, desk, bookcases, etc." I then advised her we were NOT willing to move our furniture again! It simply was not happening!! So, at the end of our call... she told me this would escalate further up the ladder and she would be calling me back or someone else would. I told her, that would be great and that I would great. I then told her to have a blessed day!
Okay... So today is June 28, 2017. I've spoken with Empire about 3 times... all by me calling and not by them "returning a call to me." I was told someone "tried to reach me." I replied, "I have voicemail and the message I had I returned the call but was told someone would call me back, but even when not available... I could be reached and that they could always send a letter." Well, after several hours of time on the phone... letting ALL the representatives hear how this was not the correct carpet... I was asked why didn't I tell the installer upon arrival. So I let them ALL know, "We trusted our sales rep." We believed that he, being the expert knew the colors, knew what we had and was the one to make sure there were no issues.
I went on to state that as an educator, I am trusted to know and do my job comforting and assuring my constituents that I can do my job effectively and without question. My husband and I believed this to be true also for Mr. Jim. We never felt the need to question if he knew what he was doing, if he had everything correct. "We trusted he knew his job!"
The outcome of this fiasco is we believed after 3 estimates that Empire Today was a reputable company that not only had the best cost for carpeting our home of over 6,000 square feet, but that they would perform quality work, rendering happy homeowners. My husband and I were there until the last 3 carpet installs. "We were extremely happy." After my attempt to resolve and have Empire right their wrong... we were credited with $206.64 for the moving that we did but was charged for. Even after I invited corporate administrators to visit our home to see why I was unhappy, we were advised that the installer showed us the carpet and we agreed to the install. I then advised, even while listening to them "decide" that this was our fault...
Their accusation was incorrect. Though we were met, greeted, and shown the remnant on our first install, it was NOT the case with the remaining installation. Though it might be their practice to do so, it was not discovered until after we were asked to do the walk through that we, rather I, informed the installers the carpet was the wrong color and he then provided me with the number for customer service. I stated, "The installers, who barely spoke English was sent to do a job. They were not our sales rep or the person we've trusted to complete what was started... It began with Mr. Jim."
I then went on to say, "Perhaps Mr. Jim who advised that his iPad crashed, he lost all of the numbers, all of the measurements, AND that meant he more than likely lost the actual color of the carpet. He probably thought or perhaps was assured that since he is a veteran sales rep even knew the correct number of the carpet. But as he too is human, he made a mistake." This was shared... taken into consideration and then the Empire customer service rep, who by the way was very nice... very cordial... and I really worked to project the Christian voice tone, verbiage, and understanding during this entire conversation.
As I begin to cry, I let her know... we spent over $10,000 to get this done. Frieze carpet in 7 rooms, a staircase, and a hallway. Our last 3 rooms of carpet don't match the rest of the house. I've called as instructed. I've invited managers, etc. to visit our home and take a look. I've remained professional and prayed more than she could know. I've held on why the reps spoke with this person and that person and only to be told they (whom ever they are) were told there was NOTHING that could be done, because we were shown the piece of carpet before installation. It mattered not how I said, we weren't shown the carpet. And... perhaps that is our fault. But even with that, the last 3 connecting rooms tie into the hallway and the other rooms upstairs. There is no way I would change the color of carpet for 3 bedrooms when the other 3, the hallway, and the staircase. No way!!
I then shared what they have shown me is that even when people like my husband and I believe that companies like Empire have their customers' best interest at heart and trust them to come into their homes, their investments, to perform work entrusting everyone involved that the hardship and disappointment we've gone through has proven that companies like them are only out to make another dollar. It's sad, it's disheartening, and it is unbelievable that they are okay doing business this way.
I let the rep know, I was going to pray for God to do what He does best. I let her know that I was not happy at what we were told and though not upset with her, I apologize if it seemed I was, but I could not believe that after many calls that have transpired on my behalf that this was the result. She was compassionate and advised me to call back. I advised that I've called and called and I was going to pray again. I feel if they were planning to correct this, after research and the writing on the wall showing the color is incorrect they would have done so by now.
Without a doubt the carpet is really nice. The unhappy ending is that Empire Today refuses to believe that their installer, who was nice, but I'm not sure spoke a lot of English only did what he was instructed. Yes, my husband and I allowed him to do the installation and no we did not question him. Okay... fault us for that. With a $10,000 contract... we felt comfort that the company, a reputable, well known company and their employees knew their stuff. Please don't fault us for being caring individuals who had confidence that your company would provide the services for us that we asked for and you agreed to do.
Though an experience I wish not happen to anyone else. I suppose no matter how much you trust your sales rep, or even the company you do business with you've taught us to ask questions... micromanage... make the people doing the work that should know how to do their jobs uncomfortable!!! But the truth be told, my husband and I believe that there are people out there, companies, sales reps, and yes reputable companies like yours that work to ensure that even with human error... errors that was no fault of the consumer paying half of what was paid (roughly $2,500 more) will NOT be sought to correct an issue that was truly no fault of their own. Praying this occurs to no one else!

The installers were professional. They did a great job. They arrived on time as scheduled. They did move all furniture out of the rooms and it was a lot. They cleaned up and replaced furniture back into the rooms. The carpet buying process was very good also. The gentleman came to my house and showed the exact carpet samples that I wanted.

Basement carpet install - The quality of the carpet was good and the install team worked well together and did a very professional job. It took longer to do the install than anticipated, but that was because they used, at my purchase and request, a different under-layment and there was a given 'learning curve' for the installers. I am very happy with the quality of the carpet and the install itself. Great folks to work with and I do recommend them highly.

We bought laminate floors from Empire Today and had it installed in the kitchen and dining room. The cost and quality looked good. I'm like a maintenance guy and I'm satisfied with it. The sales staff was very professional and the installation people were right on cue. They were very courteous, on time, prompt, cleaned up their mess, and were in and out. They did a fantastic job. As a matter of fact, I recommended Empire to somebody else who also had one installed. They exceeded my expectations a little bit and I was very pleased.

Empire Today has a good reputation and they were the best price among some different flooring companies I looked at on the internet. The salesman we worked with was really wonderful and the guys who installed the vinyl flooring in my home were super nice. The quality of the flooring is good. I had carpeting down so having a vinyl floor is a lot easier to clean. The new flooring has pretty much met my expectations but I originally wanted the floating floor and they were unable to do that. There were also a couple of little things, like some of the trim boards, that I wasn't happy about. We talked to the sales guy about it and it's weird how they did it, but everything else was okay.

On May 19th carpet was installed in our baby's nursery, the upstairs hallway and stairs. As a result, the installers chipped the paint off the newly painted baseboards, in at least 20 places. They took off the closet doors and not put them back and they left dirty handprints all over the walls. They leaned all of the heavy doors against the wall in the bathroom and chipped the newly painted wall in there as well! Since then, I have been getting the run around from Empire about getting someone to come fix the baseboards. In fact, we needed furniture and did not get it with hopes that this would have been done. 2 weeks ago a contractor came and installed the doors and said he had no clue about the baseboards, empire never told him! "But don't worry, I'll let them know," he said. But, still nothing happened.
Now our baby is 12 days old and her room is a disaster. Her furniture is getting delivered this week because we cannot wait for Empire anymore, but it is NOT RIGHT. I have been communicating with Deena **. I have sent her pictures via email and text, and she has responded more than once with things like, "Oh wow, I'll get an installation manager to contact you immediately!" and yet, no one does. She is just as unprofessional as the several associates I have spoken with. I have called at least 5-7 times and have yet to receive a call from them. The carpet was installed quickly, they did not do a good job, and clearly the installers did not care. Now we are out $1600 and the room is a mess. They are unprofessional and not only would I never recommend them, but I have already filed a complaint with the BBB.

First scheduled installation they showed up early and installed the bedroom carpet, when they started installing the basement carpet they realized it was damaged. We contacted Empire to see when we could have the rest of the carpet delivered and we were told a week later it would be there first thing Wednesday morning.
Wednesday morning came and no one called so I called to see the status and we were told, after taking a day off from work, we were not getting the carpet. It was then set up for two days later. We called the night before to confirm and we were assured it was coming the next day. Friday comes and no phone call, we called Empire again and again were told the same story of the carpet not being put on the truck. A supervisor called us back on Friday evening and we rescheduled for the following Tuesday, we called the night before to confirm we were getting it. Tuesday morning no phone call, I called Empire again and again. We were told the carpet was not put on the truck.
So I have gone two weeks with half a carpet and nails sticking out of the floor and had to take 3 days off from work and still only have half a carpeted room. Customer service absolutely does not care if you have an issue and it's the same story over and over. Please trust your instinct as I should have after hearing what other people have experienced with this company and use someone other than Empire. For them to schedule the installation 3 times and not show up or call is completely unacceptable and not good for a company wanting to obtain new customer. I would never recommend this company to anyone and would never purchase anything from them again.
We regret to hear that this was your experience and understand that we have been in contact with you in regards to these concerns. We'll continue to follow up until a solution is reached.

Empire has now covered in one way or the other all the floors in my house. This includes tile in kitchen and bathroom, carpet in living room and dining room and hardwood flooring in the halls, office and stairway. In all cases the work was done to my expectation. The most recent experience was with carpet. The saleswoman was congenial and once I told her what I was looking for went right to the sample book and within minutes I saw what I was looking for. The installers were accommodating and professional. My only complaint is I wish I knew within a couple of hours, when the installers would arrive a couple of days before rather than the morning of. Aside from that I wish all my experiences with vendors would go as smoothly.

I just moved here two months ago and a friend of mine up the street had her hardwood floors done by Empire. She referred them to me and I had my whole house rugged. My salesperson was wonderful and I’m happy with the carpet’s cost and quality. They were here on a Monday and for some reason, Empire comes late at night. They got here at eight o’clock and they went to the basement and took the leftover carpet from the house. I asked them to bind a couple of pieces to wipe the feet off when you walk in the door, in my foyer. And also, to bind the piece for the basement steps because they're thin, little, tiny pine steps. So they grabbed the rest of the roll and they'll be back. I really like Empire Today and their customer service is excellent.

We looked at Lowe's and Home Depot and the only person who'd come out to give an estimate was Empire. Also, our neighbor had used Empire, and he referred them to us. We had laminate put in the kitchen, dining room, the halls, and the living room. Then, we had tile put in the laundry room. So far, I really love my flooring. We had a little bit of a problem getting them to come out and check what we thought needed to be done under the warranty work. But other than that, we're completely satisfied.

We got a good deal with Empire Today. We checked with another company and the cost was almost 2/3 higher. Because the carpet was of higher quality and the padding was good, we decided to go with Empire. The carpet has multiple colors of brown and as soon as I looked at it, my husband and I both knew that's what we wanted. It hides the dirt a little bit. Everyone who has seen the carpet likes it as well. The installers were very polite and took their shoes off. However, we could not communicate with them very easily. If we had a question, it was hard to get an answer from them. Only one of them spoke broken English and we had to be very careful with how we spoke. The salesperson was also very nice, but because of being forced, I'm not sure I would use them again. Nevertheless, as far as the quality of work and the quality of the carpet, we're very content and happy.

I hired Empire to install carpet, ceramic tile, and hardwood throughout my house. On one of the jobs, I wrote a check for a certain amount and Empire took it upon themselves to increase the amount and overcharged us for an EXTRA $500.00. That was on May 12th of this year. I have been trying ever since to get my money back. They keep telling me different stories every time I call. I have a timeline:
5/21/17--Spoke with Carlos who told me a refund check was issued to us on 5/16/17 and it takes 10-15 business days to receive it. I called back on 5/26 and spoke with a Kim who advised me that it was actually sent out on 5/19. On 8/14-I spoke with Kim again who stated she is not sure what is going on so I asked for a manager. I ended up on hold so long till I had to hang up. On 6/14 I called back to speak with a manager and was transferred to the floor manager named Joe who advised me that the check was reprocessed on 5/3 but the requested refund wasn't put in until 5/19 by a Kelley **, office manager in Norfolk. He said it wasn't mailed out until 5/31/17. He told me again to give it 15 business days and we should have it by 6/21/17.
On 6/21 I called back and spoke with another manager/supervisor named Clarissa, who advised me that it was resubmitted on 5/31. We still do not have our money as of today, 6/24/17. I am going to let my bank know that they were not authorized to overcharge the amount they did. I am also going to go to my local TV station Wavy TV 10 on your side. This is ridiculous!!! Why couldn't they just put it back in my account the same way they took it? IMMEDIATELY!!! Empire Today has given me the impression that they could be thieves. I NEED MY MONEY!!! Stop giving me the runaround!!!

We hired Empire to put in new floors in a house we bought as our dream house. The work has been horrible and is not even half finished. We have been told multiple times that it would be looked at by a manager and have only talked to by the on-site person that admitted he didn't have the needed equipment nor the ability to get the work done. As I sit in my home I have a bathroom where the tile was put in 1/2 low, a bathroom that is half stripped and quarter rounds that look like they were put in by a child. They have broken a number of wall tiles, flooded my basement, and ate/drank food in the refrigerator. I don't know if I need to just start over and hire someone else. I hired Empire on their reputation and have dealt with untrained subcontractors.

The installation team was really nice, but I could see a little edge of the tile that wasn't really up against the wall by the refrigerator. After two missed appointments they arrived at 6:15 at night for an install. I sat from 8 am till 6 pm two different days. This means two days missed at work at my cost. I actually called them the second time to verify they were on their way. They offered 50 dollars off the price for my troubles. After verifying what was going to be installed, I found out it was incorrect. The installer waves a contract in my face that says nothing. The contract I was given said something completely different. Only one installer was sent to do the job. He spoke limited English and was impossible to communicate the problem.
I had to do a three way conversation with the Empire office. They then asked for payment prior to doing the work. I should have known better when the sales guy was scheduled to show between noon and 4 pm and arrived at 4:30. He quoted me a price without looking at the job. They are using third rate contractors that do not work for them.

I've used Empire Today quite a few times in the past. This time, I was supposed to have linoleum installed. The problem was that when the guy came to install the linoleum, he said I needed to install a subfloor. And because I had tenants coming in, I asked how long it would take to put in a subfloor, and he said he didn't work for Empire and that he doesn't do subfloors, only linoleum.
I had him put the carpeting in instead, and it worked out better for me because I found somebody else to not only put in the subfloor, but also put in linoleum squares, and it came out fine. It also saved me close to $800 compared to having Empire Today do it. That was the only disappointing thing. From the standpoint of doing the job, when the saleslady gave me the quote, she should have indicated that there might be the possibility of needing to put in a subfloor. That whole process was frustrating, but otherwise, I love the carpeting and Empire Today was okay.

Also, other than being the top of the line, we got the carpet as it is supposed to have some kind of resistance property in it since we have a dog. The sales rep was very knowledgeable. And the installers were very nice and got the job done in a very fast and efficient pace. We love our carpet and overall, we had a very good experience. And we plan on getting our back patio redone and get carpets done in our rec room downstairs.

I had an easy time picking out my flooring with the salesman. Scheduled the date for Monday. Took time off work and cleared the kitchen and dining room. Have a small condo so the space is tight. I have emptied the fridge and am waiting. I confirmed the appointment. The installer called on the day and said that the product I ordered was not in the warehouse.
Also when I brought up there must be subflooring they acted like they never heard and made it seem like they did not want to do the job. I called the salesman and he assured me that all was right and noted in my quote. They rescheduled for Thursday of that week. I confirmed again the dates with Empire. I waited on Thursday until 9am for them to call me and tell me that the product was not yet in the warehouse. Why would you schedule knowing the product was not available. They are quick to take a deposit but now they are acting like they don't want to help me. I burned vacation and had help clearing the kitchen and dining room. This is a bad experience.
