My review is for Empire Today in the state of Maine. I have had one of the worst experiences dealing with them over the past few months. I could go on and on about all of the cancelled appointments and excuses for not showing up but there are plenty of those on this site. I just want to warn anyone in Maine that Empire does not have local installation crews that live in the state. All of the work is farmed out to contractors that live in Massachusetts. I cannot get their service people to admit this but here is my assumption of how things work. You are given an installation date that is either on a Tuesday or Thursday (the only dates they install in Maine). On the day of installation, the crews show up at a warehouse and are shown the list of jobs for the day. Based on my experience, it appears that If the crew does not feel like driving 2-3 hours to do your job, they can pass on it and take one closer to home.
I have had a carpet install scheduled on 3 different days and each time I was called the morning of to be told they could not find a crew to do my job. How can that be if I was on the schedule? I even had a service rep tell me that I was put on the VIP list to ensure my install was put at the top of the list. Still ended up getting cancelled. After the 3rd cancellation, I called to ask for a manager. Spoke to a shift supervisor and he apologized and said that I would hear from a local services manager and regional executive. That was over 2 weeks ago and I have not heard from anyone. I have also tried contacting the sales person Jim ** and he just keeps pushing me off to service. Not at all willing to step in and make this right. Take my advice like others have given here and use a local flooring store with their own installation crew. In the end, you will probably pay about the same and have a much better experience.
We regret to hear that this was your experience, and understand that we've spoken to you in regards to your concerns. If you continue to have questions, please contact us at customersupport@empire-today.com.
Thank you.

Ordered carpet to be installed today, I called salesperson and customer service several times prior to install date, (have names and date and time of calls). All I wanted was a copy of the installers (certificate of insurance) Bond. Which everyone should have b4 allowing anyone to work on your home. They could not provide that for me - after several calls. Need to be more diligent when hiring or buying. Never again.
Your concerns are important to us, and we'll be investigating this matter further.
Thank you.

I stated in my initial review (7/31/2017) of my dealings with Empire Today, that I would post an update based on resolution of my original concerns. Empire Today's local general manager contacted me after my review posted. As stated before, everyone that I had any telephone or personal contact with, was always polite. It is the most polite company in which I have ever dealt. I thank God, that after their calls and my follow up calls, the matter was resolved in a way that was eventually most advantageous to me and appears to reflect Empire Today's effort for good customer remediation/service. I especially applaud the intervention of the General Manager, Linda, and the professionalism of the salesperson and installers.
Original Review: July 31, 2017
My experience with Empire Today has been filled with frustration and dissatisfaction because I received no service when scheduled and no contact from a manager when requested. I wasted precious vacation time to prepare for an installation that did not take place. The human beings I talked to after the problem began were always polite. However I have not talked with someone to resolve the matter or offer any consolation for the anxiety this has caused me. I chose this company because they advertised prompt service.
The only prompt service I received was from the email request for an appointment on 7/19/2017. The salesperson was cordial and professional. I made the salesperson aware that I needed installation of flooring I selected next week while my home business was closed and before my spouse came home from rehab with his wheelchair and other equipment. The salesperson assured me that the installation would take place in the time frame. I scheduled and contracted for installation of the flooring on 7/24/2017. On 7/20/2017 the salesperson telephoned me to agree to installation on 7/25/2017 instead because that was when the installer could do it. I consented to that.
I have a home business with lots of STUFF I removed so that the installers could just move furniture. On 7/25/2017 at 7:51 a.m. I received a call from Empire Today casually apologizing that the installers would not come because the flooring product I ordered was on back order and they would reschedule whenever it was available (in the unknown future). I made the caller aware that was not acceptable since the order was made on 7/19/2017 and there was plenty of time to know that product was not available. I told him I closed my home business for the installation and was not in a position to do it again without it negatively affecting business. I asked to speak with a manager then and he told me a manager would call me that day 7/25/2017. No manager ever called me that day or any other day.
From the Empire Today website, I sent 2 emails about the matter and requested to speak with a manager. I made 3 telephone calls to Empire Today about the matter on 7/25/2017 and attempted the next day. The Empire Today staff I spoke with were always polite and apologetic but would not provide a telephone number or name of a manager for me to talk with, only reiterating that since I was told a manager would call, that they assured me a manager would contact me. That NEVER happened! The salesperson called me after 4 pm on 7/25/2017 to see how the installation was going. I informed her that no installation occurred and rehashed my feeble attempts to talk to a manager and my dissatisfaction. The salesperson apologetically indicated she would check on this matter. I received one last phone contact from the salesperson indicating that the product I ordered may be available in an out of state warehouse.
I did not hear from her again and there was no further progress. I left town for a planned vacation midday 7/27/2017 and returned 7/31/2017. I confirmed that I received no phone calls, emails or mail about this matter. My $200 deposit was not cashed as of 8/1/2017. I want to talk with someone who is in a position to resolve this matter since the terms of the contract were not followed. My home and home business are askew and my spouse is returning home this week to the same flooring impediments. The inconvenience of this experience has been anxiety filled and distressing. I am willing to post an update if Empire Today satisfactorily resolves this matter!
We understand that this has been a frustrating situation, and assure you that we take matters such as this one very seriously. We'll be following up with you soon to start working towards a resolution.
Thank you.

My carpet was scheduled for Monday July 31. I got a call Sunday night after 8:00pm from Carlos. The message said the installation crew ran into a problem on a job they were doing SATURDAY and had to go back today Monday. He changed my installation date to Aug. 4th. My issue is I didn't see the missed call until Monday morning. My friend had taken the day off to be there for me. Now he has missed a day out of work and won't be here when they do come. I have already moved things around to prepare for them. I have a pool table company set up to come move the table today. I'm not sure if I can cancel or if I will be able to reschedule. I'm disappointed, I sure wish I had been called Saturday. It would have saved me lots of aggravation.
We understand that your time is valuable and sincerely regret the inconvenience. We'll be in contact with you soon to further address your concerns.

Empire Today has a very simple process and good products and service. I had them install carpeting in three rooms and we're very happy with the quality of the carpet. After I looked around a little bit, Empire's price is a little higher than most, but the quality of the carpet is excellent. It's far superior than the one we had. Empire's carpet is high but still firm. It’s not a plush carpet but it’s soft.

Empire Today installed carpet and hardwood in certain rooms of our new home. Their cost was great and the quality is comparable. Their salesman that came out was second to none and was so explanatory. He gave me a price and he stood by that price. His salesmanship, his customer service and his calling us back when we had questions after he had come out to get his estimate on the spot, were excellent. The other company did terrible in that aspect. They sent somebody out but she didn’t know what she was doing. She couldn’t figure out anything and she said she had to go back to the office. She never called me back so I figured they didn’t want my business. When I took her samples back, she wouldn’t even allow me to come into the store because I was going to talk to her manager and she knew it. I also never called them back.
Empire's installation guys were excellent too. It's a good carpet and flooring but one of the trims around the staircase and the railing is not going to work. It has a quarter of an inch sticking up where I can see under it all the way around. There's got to be another way they can do that where it meets plush with the rest of the wood if they had to connect that hardwood shape. That’s something I've been meaning to address but I have had so many problems moving. We had to move in a hurry and I haven’t had the time to put down and call Empire for that.
But it’s very minor and it's not anything that they can't handle because I've seen it on other stairwells and I understand the problem they had. They didn't have the right type of wood to do what they needed to do, like a threshold we’d see, and they had so many places to go and work to do. So, I'll have to have that redone and I know they’ll make it right. They're a good company and they're in the business for a long time. The overall job was excellent, I was pleased with everything, and the guys they sent out did great. I would highly recommend Empire and I would do a commercial for them.

I had carpet and window coverings from Empire Today in most of the house. It was in the bedrooms, living room, dining room and den. I liked the color and the quality of the carpeting. Empire Today was very similar to other brands in terms of cost and quality but they was running some specials at the store and we chose them for the prices that they had. However, the timing of the floor job was not scheduled correctly. They basically had my whole house to do and they came out about 3 o’clock in the afternoon. They were here ‘til about 11 o’clock at night, then they had to come back the next morning and finish up. That was poor planning and I felt bad for them because they’ve been working a long day.
Also, I’m still waiting for someone to come out and trim around my den. They didn’t do that as well as they should have and the person who had installed my window trim was the same one who installed my carpet and I told him about it. I was going to put in a request but I have never actually called Empire about it. But if I still don't hear anything, I probably will soon. Other than that, it looks good. All in all, they provide quality for a reasonable price.

I had carpeting and hardwood from Empire Today installed in my whole house. They were a recommendation and I also liked the lively approach. One thing I wasn’t happy with was the person who came out didn't tell me they might have a problem with the back end when they moved the bathroom. And that’s exactly what happened. I ended spending almost $700 to hire somebody and install the bathroom back. I like the durability of the material but it has underperformed my expectations.
Also, I called customer service several times to have somebody to repair a piece of wood that was coming out from the installation. And they couldn't have the technicians to come to work. I had to take time off work to be able to meet with them. But in the end, they never came. The third time, they swapped and that did the work. But that wasn’t a good experience at all. I wouldn't recommend because I don’t like the way the customer service handled the situation when I asked them to come and fix it. I’m not happy.

Empire offered a pretty fair deal and then, I had their sales guy come out to me two times. He talked to me so that was good. I had them install carpet and a flooring in the whole house except for my master bath because I've put tile flooring there. The carpet is my favorite and I haven't had any loosening of the flooring and the seams are all covered at this point. But I definitely have the contact number in case the seams start showing and it starts to loosen.

We have had a horrible experience thus far with Empire. We placed an order for our hardwood 3 weeks ago. My husband tore out all the floors, cabinets and sink in preparation for the floors to be installed. The day before installation Empire called to cancel because the materials were not in. They were unable to give us a date of when they would be in. The next day we got a call saying they could install the flooring the following day and that the materials were in. The morning of we received a call saying that they had to cancel again because the materials are still not in. Again, no answers as to when we should expect it to be in.
So now we have to get a hotel because we have no living space and we have a toddler. I don't understand how you can schedule installation but have no idea if the material is in. Empire is extremely unprofessional and I would not recommend them. Pay the extra money to go somewhere that is professional and that has better communication with their vendors. Empire and the vendor they use apparently have no communication with each other. At this point we have no idea when or if we will be getting our flooring. Even if another installation date is scheduled I'm fearful that the same problem will occur.
We apologize for the delay in your installation and understand that we're currently in the process of completing your project. We'll be in contact with you soon to further discuss your concerns.
Thank you.

My husband and I were supposed to have some come to our new home today to give us an estimate on carpeting and flooring. Our quote time was between 3-5pm. At 5:15 and still no one at our house, my husband called Empire. He was put on hold while the customer service rep called the person who was supposed to do the estimate and then let my husband know he had to leave work and would not be coming. She then told him they could reschedule for next week. How is it they can have people wait over 2 hours, and not have anyone show up and then try and reschedule for a week from now??? Completely unprofessional, and not even an apology. We had quite a large project, and they lost a customer permanently.

Having purchased from Empire in the past, I thought they were capable of delivering my need. I note they do window treatments such as blinds and called in for an appointment as I wanted wide wooden blinds installed. This was clearly communicated. I setup the appointment for Friday, July 21st with a window of 7 pm - 9 pm because this was acceptable and worked for me. On Thursday prior the appointment, I received a call asking if I could change the time. I couldn't due to my work schedule and was told my appointment was still confirmed as scheduled.
At 6 pm on Friday, the day of my appointment I received a call from the sales person that would be coming who asked, "What was I looking to purchase and informed me that he had absolutely no experience with blinds but was willing to come anyway". Excuse me! Me the customer is considering spending a substantial amount of money with your organization and you're sending me someone who will be learning their job, at my expense? How appalling and unprofessional is that? This is the regard you have for your customers? I respectfully declined and refuse to do business with Empire ever again in life.
To add further insult to injury, I receive a card today thanking me for meeting with the sales rep! I'd washed my hands to never think of it again until this card was received. So was it a ghost I met with? I can't help but realize this all happened because the original sales rep had something else to do on Friday evening so they pushed me off on just anyone who would say, "I will" regardless to them knowing what they were doing or not. I will be sharing this with everyone I know.
We strive to leave a positive impression during our sale appointments and regret that this was not the case. We'll be in contact with you soon to learn more.

I had new flooring put in by Empire Today in my kitchen, laundry room, and one bathroom. I considered Sears but it was so expensive. It was going to cost me $8,000 and Empire was only at $2,500. I like my new flooring's color, design, and shape. I had an issue with them when they couldn't do one of my bathrooms. I live in a manufactured mobile home. But one of the master bedrooms has a crack in it and they wouldn't fix it. That was the only thing that I was disappointed in because the salesperson said they could fix it and when the floor people came out, they couldn't. He just said that later on, it would crack, and I would be wasting my money for doing it. Overall, I would recommend them.

I wasn't sure what I wanted and I just didn't feel like I wanted a carpet again so I went to Empire Today. I got them to install laminated flooring and had the whole room cleared so that the installers didn't have to do anything but pull the carpet, do a little sanding, and lay down the floor. I've talked to other people that had floors put in by contractors and it took up to three days but these installers Empire sent were in and out. It took them about seven hours to complete the work and they were great. It was quick service and I would recommend them if somebody was interested.

On Weds., 7/26/17, installers arrived at our home to install vinyl flooring. We had contracted for the living room / dining room area and upstair hallway to have the vinyl flooring. During the pre-work walk-through my husband was told the work order did not have the dining room and that he did not have enough product. I showed him our contract. The installers began their work and worked all day and left the job unfinished due to lack of product. The installer told my husband he would be back first thing in the morning to finish before he went to his other job. I called Customer Service numerous times which was useless. All they did was to call the installation dept. and leave a voicemail to have someone contact me. I never received a call back on 7/26.
On the morning of 7/27 at 7:26 AM I received a call from a representative telling me the installer was having van problems and may or may not be able to finish the job that day and if the installer couldn't, he would be here first thing Friday, 7/28. He told me he would update me later in the day. I never received a phone call. Late in the afternoon I tried calling the reps number. It just rang and rang. A voice mail was not set up for that number to leave a message. So I called customer service again and received the same response as the day before. I have no idea whether the installer will be back on 7/28 to finish. On 7/27 we scheduled to have carpeting installed on our stairs and that went flawlessly.
The stairs look beautiful. I wish my living/dining area did. Photos of the unfinished work is attached. Lack of communication and not getting a resolution is why I am writing this review. Perhaps now I will receive a response and the job will be finished. Please note: I do not fault the installers. They worked very hard with what they had.

There have been two postponements of my installation already this week. I had been scheduled for TILE on Wednesday, July 26 and carpet July 28. I was informed yesterday Wednesday (7/26) that they would install TILE today. Since no one had called today, I was just told they'd be here tomorrow... on what is supposed to be carpet day, both of these postponements (of the TILE) have been found out only after I INITIATED THE CALL to EMPIRE Carpet, to inquire about time of ARRIVAL. Since an adult, 18 or older, is required to be in the home, I TOOK TIME OFF only to find out, AND AFTER I HAD TO CALL THEM, that it was postponed. No one at Empire Carpet, thought of calling ME to let me know the plan. It would have been much appreciated!
As of my call (to Empire Carpet) this morning, because, AGAIN, no one had initiated a call TO ME, they are supposedly NOW going to accomplish both tile and carpet ON THE SAME DAY, tomorrow, FRIDAY, July 28th. I will be back to give an update. POST NOTE: The root of the problem in my opinion is the SALES TEAM (person that came to my house a month ago and made the sale) is not very informed as to how the INSTALLATION TEAM works, hence, the SALES lady scheduled my tile on Wednesday (7/26) and my carpet on Friday (7/28), whereas INSTALLATION is now saying that they will come and do it all on the same day... tomorrow, (7/28). That would have been good to know and hopefully something that can be fixed by this company. I am actually very, very surprised about this whole thing, to be honest.

After a laminate floor installation we noticed the floor next to the basement brick chimney seemed to be noisier and creaked when walked on. We put this down to things needed to settle. Several days passed and the creaking was still very noticeably there, two weeks later it had become more of a ‘bounce’ and had bubbled up. Also, the NEXT DAY after installation in the laundry room, we noticed a slight incline we again thought this was due to settling. As none of these issues, the bubbling up or the incline had settled, we called you to get someone to look into this and were informed that it would be two weeks before someone could come out.
Two weeks later no show! We called late in the afternoon, after 5pm EST, and asked if anyone could come out tonight. Later that evening, a four man installation team, who were working in the area, came around to look into our complaint. They said, and I quote, “The laminate was installed too tightly against the brick wall”. Hence the bouncing effects. In the laundry room they found moisture under the recently installed laminate. They asked us if the washing machine had leaks? Our response was, “No”. In fact the following day just to make sure, we ran four (4) loads of laundry to test this out; and there were no leaks or water on the floor, nor have there ever been any leaks. If moisture was present on the floor, why wasn't there a moisture reading taken before installation as the basement level is about 5 1/2 feet below ground level?
When we obtained a quote to install the laminate flooring in the basement and laundry room we specifically asked if it was okay to install the laminate flooring on top of the linoleum in the laundry room. We were informed, and it's in the quote, that could be done with no issues. The four man crew who did the inspection informed us that, they would have to take out all the new laminate and the old linoleum as laminate shouldn't have been installed over the linoleum. They said they would be back on Thursday to fix these issues.
Thursday came and went with no phone calls or communication. By Friday morning I phoned, and was told someone would phone me later that day. Again no one called back. On Monday morning I phoned again and was told someone would phone me back. In the afternoon I had to phone again, and later on I eventually spoke to a manager. She informed me that the inspection results were, that our washing machine had leaked which caused the incline and bubbling. This was completely different from what the inspection team told us when they were here. I tried to tell her this, and was completely dismissed and was simply told "accidents happen". In other words, without actually saying it, she was insinuating that I was lying about the washing machine. She said she would talk to the inspection team and phone back the next morning.
After waiting almost all day I phoned again at 3pm, I eventually spoke to the manager at 3:55pm. She told me they would have an independent inspection. This would take 2 to 3 business days for them to call me and maybe up to 2 weeks for an appointment. Our concern now is how INDEPENDENT will this inspection be?
IF, we had a leaking washing machine we most certainly would not have had the laminate flooring installed in the laundry room. So the ill-logical response we received from manager was, we had a leaking washing machine and any repairs we would have to pay for, including the reinstallation of the ‘bouncing’ floor which, this individual put down to the nonleaking washing machine. Did I mention the bouncing floor was some 20 feet away in another room and, figuratively speaking, uphill from the washer dryer station due to the incline which was created by the recent laminate floor installation?
After repeated telephone calls, extended waits, missed appointments, extremely poor, if almost nonexistent communication or follow up from your company, with delays of up to two weeks in getting any satisfactory response to resolve the issue we are still in a dispute. Think twice about using this company. Our experience has not been good at all and their delaying tactics in coming to a resolution is frustrating to say the least. They’re very happy to take your hard earned money but not very willing to fixing their mistakes. So off to the BBB.
We sense your frustration and regret to hear that you feel this way. We'll be following up with soon to further discuss your concerns.
Thank you for your patience.

I had Empire Today do the carpet in the two bedrooms in the basement and on our stairs. We used them since the person we bought the house from also used them and we wanted to make sure the color matched. I went with what else is already in the basement. Overall, they have met my expectations although I definitely noticed there are a few spots throughout the living area where the pad must have been bodied up against. When I’m walking across, I can feel that there’s a disparity in some sections of the room. But from the process of selling to the installation, it was pretty seamless so that was fine. I’d recommend them. My experience was quick, easy and hassle-free.

I had a few accidents in the carpeting before so I had it changed. The sales lady from Empire Today came to the house, showed me what the best item to put in would be, and I was very satisfied with it. They gave me the best price and I love the carpeting they installed in my master bedroom. It wasn't synthetic. Also, the gentleman that came to put it in did an absolutely great job. They were very helpful. When I wasn't sure if the carpet out on the truck was the same color I ordered because it was different in the sun, he assured me that once it was put in, it was the same color which it was. The whole experience, from the phone call to the end, was great. The whole operation process was very easy and could be the best. I’d tell anybody that needs carpeting or flooring to give Empire a call.

She suggested that I call Empire Today and that’s exactly what I did. She recommended it and I let them know ahead of time and they sent her $100 for referring us. We installed a beautiful gray carpet with mingles. We got the very good pad that goes under it and I can tell that that’s made a big difference.
When the lady called to confirm that the installers would be out to my home the next day, she talked about them picking up the carpeting from the warehouse early in the morning. We waited for the installers all morning and I just wish she had told me the time they would arrive because every second we were looking for them. They didn’t get here until two o’clock in the afternoon and this was a pretty big job.
They had three very nice young men who did the installation and they did a beautiful job. I complimented them. I have answered phone calls about them and I would recommend them to anybody. They did a great job, very respectful in my home. I and my husband liked them and were very satisfied with their work. But they didn’t get done until eight o’clock that night and I know they were exhausted because I was. It wasn’t the installers fault. They had a job to do first and then they came here. I was just a little surprised about that mix-up, especially when I had been called the night before. I just listened to what she had to say but I should’ve asked what time can I expect them to come. I wouldn’t hold that against them. But if I ever need carpeting again, I’ll sure ask more questions.
I was very satisfied and I thought they did a remarkable job. They had to move so much furniture and I still don’t know how they did it, but God love them, they did. I have no complaints whatsoever about the installation. If Empire Today can keep those three young men and pay them well.

Empire Today installed some wood flooring and carpets in my home. I thought about calling Lowe's, but when I had something installed by them in the past, I was totally misled on everything from how far out it would be to install it to when the inspector would come to do the final inspection. Also, my daughter did 50 Floor and it wasn’t a good experience. I'd rather pay more and have good customer service. Empire also had a better material and I liked the salesman a lot more. He delivered what he said he would.
The wood flooring went in the common areas, they are easy to keep clean and I really like the way they look. The carpets went in the bedrooms and they both have padding underneath. I'm not walking on a concrete slab so my legs feel better. The installation process went very smoothly. The guys who did the wood part of the floor came in first. They did a good job and there’s no goofing around. My kitchen cabinets are a dark wood so they asked me about putting the quarter round that was more of a wood look instead of the white like they did on all the edges. They didn’t have to ask me that and they could have just left it there. They were very nice, very polite and when they were done, everything was clean.
But I had a problem when I had to call Empire’s customer service. We went back and forth trying to get the vinyl installed. They would call me and tell me that I had an appointment for a day and that they’re confirming it. But I didn’t have an appointment and nobody called to ask for one. I told them they were not calling to confirm an appointment but to make one and that I wasn’t available on the day they said the installers would be here. It would be great if I could talk to the installers and not talk to the customer service people but I had to. They also got kind of irritated with me because it happened three times that I had to change the schedule. The last time it had to be changed, I had it scheduled for July 7th and they called and cancelled it because they didn’t have enough installers which was not a big deal. Now it’s going to be installed on August 15th. I'm going away and that’s the only time I could do it.
I also had to talk to a specialist who wanted me to put more of the deposit on my flooring because it had to sit in a warehouse. It was like going to the principal’s office and I refused to pay. I’ve already paid almost $10,000 and I'm not running out on $500 worth of linoleum or vinyl. All in all, I love my floors and my experience with Empire has been fantastic from sales to installation. The salesman and installers were also perfect but the customer service reps on the phone were awful.

I had Empire Today install carpeting in two bedrooms and a hall. I called other places, but the price wasn’t all that great. The sale that Empire had and how fast of a response they came to do it were the reasons I went with them. I like the brown carpet that I got.

When the Empire gentleman came and showed us the different carpeting, he had a pet-retardant carpeting and that’s what we decided on for the rental home. The installers were a few hours late, but we were here, so it didn’t make a whole lot of difference. They went above and beyond our expectation, cleaned up and did an excellent job. The carpeting was installed throughout the whole house and it looks very nice. We're very pleased with the workers. I was also very happy after they called me and said that they'd come down to what we were willing to pay.

We had Empire come out and install carpet just about a year ago. The company contracts out the carpet installers and just get any company to do the install. Before our year was up we had to have them come out and reinstall the carpet as it was loose and buckling up in numerous places. They had to pull it all up and relay it 2 times in less than a year. AGAIN It continued to buckle up in almost every room. Now they want $400 come out again. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone.

We had our entire house upstairs and downstairs redone with carpet and padding. The best they offered. I absolutely loved it. However, all upstairs started to lump up in our bedroom and then in three of our bedrooms after about 15 months of having the carpet. I was very upset and because the year warranty was just up I was to pay a $375.00 service call to have them come out and restretch my entire upstairs. I could not get anyone to help me with this. I just let it go... well now it has been 2 years and I have no choice but to call them again.
I finally called a month ago and it took a month to have a call back from anyone. I called every other day and now were going back and forth over payment for them to come out. I need it fixed and still have to pay $200.00 to have them fix the mess they made. I was going to have them redo my kitchen and dining room. Depending on this outcome, and I will never recommend them to anyone. Very disappointed in how they have dealt with this situation. Very small price and very small situation to put a bad taste in your customer's mouth. Warranty is nothing that they explain to you. THEY WILL NOT COME AND REPLACE ANYTHING INCLUDING STAINS THEY CANNOT REMOVE!!! I could have put my $8,845.64 bucks into a better company.

I scheduled an in home appointment and the salesman brought some very nice carpet samples to the house and did a nice job of selling it. As a result, we agreed to purchase and set up the appointment to have it installed. We spent all night getting the house ready for them to come and they came on the day that said they would.
When they arrived, the installer mentioned I should check the carpet prior to install. The carpet they brought was completely different than what I had been shown. The color was different and the quality was completely non-existent. The installer commented that this was not their normal quality and he had no idea what they had sent. I turned them away, called my salesman Bryan, and scheduled for him to come work with me to resolve it. The day and time he scheduled, came and went with no call or visit. When I contacted him he told me to call an 800 number and cancel the order. I did that. It took 30 minutes of conversation and then the lady hung up on me. When I called back, I was told it had been cancelled. Not sure if this is the norm but it was most definitely my experience and not one I care to repeat.

This flooring job has been a 2 week train wreck! First of all we have been remodeling our house before we moved in. Scheduled floor install for the Wednesday before move in on Saturday. We had not painted before move in and trim was not on. My husband was going to do that after move in because we ran out of time. But I refused to move in with concrete floors.
The first crew came on the morning of original install. They refused to do it since we still needed to paint. I think that should be our choice. People repaint all the time with existing floors. So how is that their choice? Pretty sure those guys were just wanting the day off. Empire said they couldn't come back for a full week. Doesn't this company promise next day installs? When our sales guy heard about this he fought for an earlier date for us and had it scheduled for 2 days later. We still had movers scheduled because we had to be out of our other house.
Second crew comes. They were very accommodating and professional. They understood exactly what to do. They installed our floors but couldn't do the stairs due to a mix up on material order. New material was discussed and on back order. They said it should take 3 days to get material in. Well that was 8 days ago. I'm sitting here waiting for installer to get here. He won't be here until 4:00. I took yesterday and today off work for this and they schedule us as the last job. I have sat on hold with their huge call center for hours during this whole process. In those 8 days we had to keep calling them back. My dog fell off the stairs because there isn't a banister while we wait for the wood to be installed. My daughter scraped her foot on an exposed nail on the stairs. And we have called several times to complain with the call center promising they would have someone call to resolve our issues.
My advice to people looking for flooring companies... Go local. Empire is so big most of the time you aren't even talking to someone in your same state. The call center people are just working a job. They don't care. One call center worker even hung up on me. So the catchy little commercial 800-588-2300 Empiiiire Today is going to be an ongoing joke in our house. This company has made the whole process of getting floors stressful. And it was a lot of money to spend to be this stressed!!! I would not recommend Empire Today.

I had a Brazilian Cherry hardwood floor installed in my home less than a year ago that the slats began to separate. I contacted Empire who took 4 weeks to come out to my home to inspect the floor. The installer stated, "Oh it's cold outside and your floor contracts during the winter months and it should close once the humidity increases." Well 3 months later floor gaps still not closed. Contacted Empire again. Called every other day for 6 weeks with no response or return call. It was not until I contacted the finance company to dispute the charge that I heard from someone in enhanced resolution department. They scheduled an independent contractor to come out and it was determined that my house was too dry for a hardwood floor. Now this is a $6000 floor. Nowhere in the contract was I advised that not all homes can accommodate a natural hard wood floor.
I was advised that due to this being a house issue and not a product issue Empire would be so gracious and give me a discount on a cheaper material floor however I would still be responsible for the $6000 floor I would have to have ripped up to have the new floor installed. My only problem was the communication for the actual installation. I was told they'd call after loading the truck (6am) to let us know when our installation time would be. We didn't hear from them. I called at 8:30 or 9 and was told it was the afternoon installation. (What time is afternoon?) Come 1:30 we still didn't hear anything about an arrival time. My wife, Debbie had used Empire Today before and was very happy in her home. This time, we purchased engineered hardwood flooring with the best coating that Empire Today had. Then we had it installed in the entire first floor of a condominium. The cost was a little bit disappointing because when they came in, they increased the cost by some $400 from the quote for a special tool that they said they used which we never saw.
My favorite feature is the color. In some ways, the flooring met my expectations, but in a lot of ways, no. There was no follow-up with the sales rep and/or with the installers as to how to take care of the floor. I had a urine stain from a pet and no one could tell me how to take care of it. I went to their website and I contacted Empire but it said their voice mailbox was full. I couldn’t get through to the Chicago end distribution center or to the customer care center. I had to work around it to get to the manufacturer eventually and spoke to the distributor in Atlanta, Georgia.
Plus, when I called my sales rep, he didn’t take the call. Instead, he texted me to say he was on vacation and to continue to call the customer care center like he didn’t care. I was extremely disappointed in David. He's someone who Debbie had used and he’s been a salesperson with Empire Today for some 30 years. He knew I had a problem but he didn't even ask if the problem was taken care of when he got back from vacation. We had high expectations for Empire Today but there was very little follow through on their part to make the customer happy.

It was just one type of padding and apparently, that's all they had because it wasn't even discussed and I didn't realize it until afterwards. On Thursday eve at 7:30pm AnnaLisa a sales rep came to our home for a free estimate. She was not friendly, personable, nor knowledgeable with the product. All she wanted to know was when we were going to have the money so she could lock in the deal right away. We explained we were waiting for a check, which we did not know when it would arrive. I thought that was invading our privacy and all we wanted was a quote so we would be ready. Not to mention, we are getting our entire home and kitchen redone. The first quote was very high, then she contacted her manager, quote came down only for today, only if we gave a deposit right now. If we waited until September then the price would double. Yes, double! I expressed my opinion that I thought this was not ethical to raise the price from $3,000 to $6,000 in a matter of days. The only way was to give her a deposit. I explained we are just getting quotes right now so we can decide.
We had to ask her to show us samples, which she begrudgingly got from her car. She was not explaining them too precisely, seemed nervous and would not write the quote for me, I had to jot it down. Finally, when we’re totally turned off to Empire, she abruptly got up, did not thank us, or shake hands or anything, got up, walked out the door. My husband and I just stared and looked at each other. Why would I consider using a company that just wants to close a deal during the entire estimate process. We had the money, we’re ready to make the deal, but she did a poor job. Seemed like her first day on the job.

So here is a thing. This is my first time writing a review and I don't usually rate or write reviews because most times the experience and service is acceptable if not great so I don't really feel talking bad about anything. But here I go with my experience with Empire. Bad is an understatement. This was pathetic, disgusting and all the bad things I could say about them. And to my fault, I didn't check many similar experiences others have had regarding the same issue.
I had an installation appointment for the 20th. I didn't hear from them in the morning until 11 am. I called them at 11 am and I was told that the installer was trying to reach me and called me on my cell phone and it was not reachable so he left (absolute lie). I was on my phone looking at it since morning. There was no voicemail. There was no prior intimation (as they market of calling 2 hours in advance). None of that whatsoever. There was no email notification. The person could not find my place (well we live in the world of GPS. Their sales guy could find the place, everyone who knows how to use GPS can, but only the installer could not). So a bad bad experience.
Then I tell their customer service that I am a consultant and I took a day off from work losing x amount of money to be at home for the installation only to know that the person decided to not show up. Spoke with the floor manager. He apologized (wow!) and said he will escalate it and try to provide a compensation. I requested to have the carpet installation the same day but he told that there was no availability for next 2 weeks. (wow!). No availability! Well good luck to the people who are using them. I wish no one has such experience.
He said that he can set something up after 2 weeks (which was a no as I have family visiting my new place). I said I need to know about the compensation as well as the earliest date. He assured me at 1 pm that he will personally call me and update me on the status and... nothing happened that day except I was super pissed and dissatisfied. I contacted other companies for the installation and was ready to move on with them. But wait. They call me next morning stating that they can do it today. That is 21st. I was relieved to say the least and because of my pressing need to get the work done I was thankful for them to get this sorted and expedite it. Then unlike the first day I get an automated voice call stating my appointment for the day is confirmed and the person should be at my place at 9 am.
I was elated and was like wow. This is finally happening. Had the call, they were able to reach on my phone, it's a new day. Better day. So I took another half day off from work (the pressing need to get this done) until 1 pm. And that's where more fun starts. They call me at 9 to say the automated call was done in error and the installer cannot come before 1 pm. Well well... Do I need to say more? It's just been a traumatic experience, one to forget and something I will strongly recommend others to not go for. Personally it was nightmare and I hope none of you have to go through this.

I chose Empire because of their ad saying next day installation, since we were selling our home and were scheduled to have an open house in 8 days. The salesman came out the next day (Friday) and I told him I had to have the carpet in by the following Thursday at the latest. He called his boss and the boss guaranteed the carpet would be installed on Monday. I told him if they couldn't do it then, that I would look for another company, as the time limit was a deal breaker for me. They said no problem, they would be there on Monday. Monday came and they called that day and said the carpet, which was in stock, by the way, wasn't in.
They said they would come on Wednesday for sure. I said ok. Wednesday they called and said they couldn't make it but guaranteed that I would be the first install the next morning (Thursday). I got up early Thursday to be ready, after getting home at midnight after work, and they called and said they couldn't make it but could come Saturday. I told them that was unacceptable and they needed to have someone there Friday because the open house was Saturday and I needed the carpet in for that, as they had promised. They said that wasn't possible. I told them they had promised this carpet would be in for the open house and they just kept saying that wasn't possible.
So now I have an open house on Saturday with my old frayed carpet which will decrease the value of what I could have gotten for my home. I am beyond livid. My friend is a sales rep at Empire and I respect her judgment. Their salesperson was very professional, while the installers were professional, quick, and thorough. I had Empire install plush carpet in three bedrooms and my family room. I like that it's soft, you can lie on it, and it's comfortable. The only downside is I got to buy a new vacuum cleaner 'cause it's too plush and my old vacuum cleaner won't handle it. But other than that, I love it and I like its neutral color. I recommended it to a few friends as they've seen and tested it.

Pets and kids are hard on carpeting even though the carpet’s been in the house for 20 years already, so I was looking for something that wasn’t going to break the bank and would still be durable. Everybody else I checked was considerably more money to do, and I don’t think it was a better carpet product from comparing them. The salesman and installer at Empire were wonderful. Those two were particular shining stars, but everybody I dealt with through Empire was equally as quality-oriented as those two gentlemen were. We purchased and had Empire install a PET quality carpet throughout the house and it has exceeded our expectations. Our experience is 100% good. Everything that they said they would do, they’ve done. Every step of the process has been simple and easy. I'm very happy with the finished product. I would recommend them to other people, and I would use them again in the future.

I had tiles installed on my basement floor after I had a flood. I had square tiles in there before and this one's a long sheet. It was put down and glued down. Picking out the right stuff and the installation were good. When I talked to the salesperson, she said that she was going to send the bill in to my insurance company. She sent it back to Empire and because I had to pay it with a credit card, Empire did not send it back to my insurance company. This has been going on since May 30 and I still haven't received any documentation or return on my investment from the insurance company. I've been fighting with them for a long time in trying to figure out why I didn't get full payment for that floor. I called back last week and Empire said they were going to correct that and send The Hartford Insurance Company a bill this week. But overall, everything was good and I'm happy with my experience.

I had carpet put in my upstairs bedroom about three weeks ago. They did not do the trim along the wall right. For the transition metal strips they put roofing nails in the strips. They did not hammer the nails all the way into the floor so it's a trip hazard. I called Empire several times to have the carpet repairs and that was such a headache. I had two appointments and each time there was a no show. This means two days I had to be around so they can do the work. I was promised several times to get phone calls from managers and that was a joke on me. I have tried everything I can to get this resolved but Empire Flooring does not care. So I guess my job does not matter to them. Good luck.

I am VERY disappointed with this company. I decided to use this company even after reading all the bad reviews. I wanted to give them a chance with one of my rentals. From the very beginning it was horrible customer service starting with the sales rep not returning my calls. I wanted to open a line of credit with them, so that I could use them for other rental properties. I had to call customer service in order for them to do it because the sales rep wouldn't call me back.
When it was time for the installation I received a call the day before telling me that they had to move it to the next day because they couldn't find an installer. The problem with that is my tenant had taken a day off from work to be there and we had paid to have her things moved. We live in a different city and couldn't be there. Then turns out after telling us they were moving it to the next day that wasn't going to happen either. Finally on Monday they call and tell us that it would be installed that day. While I'm with my son at a doctor's appointment I get a call from my tenant telling me that the installer is asking for payment. Now, this was a credit where a payment is not due.
Empire had not attached this to the work order although this was confirmed with them a couple days before. While I'm on the phone with them trying to figure this out, she calls me back saying the installer is saying that he's not going to be able to install today due to them not cutting enough carpet to put down and he left. Are you kidding me? I have been calling them for days and have been told that I was going to be getting a call from the Atlanta office. No calls. So now my installation is suppose to be tomorrow according to an email. No calls. My tenant has taken off three days from work to have this done now. We have had pay money to move her things. This has been such a horrible experience and a embarrassing one for me. I am very disappointed. I had to give them one star in order to do this review, but really it's zero stars.

I had Empire Today install a limestone composite engineered flooring for my kitchen. I got it because of its durability and it turned out great. Empire did a great job. It was a good experience and I would definitely use their services again.
Reviewed July 20, 2017
I've been a contractor for 35 years so I've dealt with flooring many times. And when I hired Empire Today, their service was satisfactory and as expected. I had linoleum installed in the kitchen and carpeting in the living room, three bedrooms, hallway, and stairwell of my home. I liked their cost which was less than the other companies and is very good value. My rep was very nice, very well-versed in her product and made everything easy. There was a little gameplay with the prices. She marked them way down for what was exceptional in the eye and made it look like a good deal. Then I told her I'd get back to her and a few days later, another rep from Empire's office called, told me how much they can really do it for, and that was the clincher.
The quality of the materials was adequate and the installation was professional. The installers did their job and were great. But it seemed like there was a little bit of a disconnect between the management and installers. It also seemed like there was no communication between Empire's sales and installation departments. We had a little bit of an issue when the installers took the carpet out of the van and it had holes in it. Apparently, a Ford truck had punctured it and went through about 10 layers of the roll. So the installers called their bosses. They came out to the house and looked it over. Somehow, the installers worked around all those punctures and I don't know where the holes went. I had the flooring done to resell the house so it's not a long-term concern to me, but that's the way things went.

I had Empire Today put tiles in the two bedrooms, the living room, dining room and kitchen. But I had them come out because I had a problem with what they installed. There were marks all over the tile, some kind of smudges that won’t come off. They tried twice. They said they fixed it the first time but when they left a few hours later, it came back up and you could see the marks all over the floor again. Now, they’re gonna come out and replace the tiles. Other than that, everyone was very courteous.

The installers did a very good job, however, one of them (might have been more than one) got glue on his shoes when they glued something down during the installation. It got on the tile in the bathroom and also in several places on our hardwood floor in our dining room (the room they had to walk through to get in and out of the house). I had some "goo remover" and that worked to get it off, but it was a bit of a pain to remove. They should have been more careful.

We were having carpet installed in the living room and laminate flooring in the bedroom. We made an appointment with an Empire Today salesperson who was here. The installers were supposed to come on a Tuesday, within a certain time window. However, I've had problems with companies before who were supposed to come out and never showed up. So I called that morning to confirm the appointment and I got the impression that they didn't have a crew set up and that they had forgotten. It was 10:00 in the morning and we’ve taken all the furniture out and my puppy and I were going to be outside all day. The first person directed me to the installation team and then the second person went, "We'll get a crew out to you as soon as you can. They'll be coming in soon."
I felt like we got the B crew that wasn't prepared to come out. They were here at noon and by 2:00 they left for lunch. The guys needed a break but they came back an hour later. It was already 3:00 and they were supposed to be out of here at 6:30. It took them a lot longer that it needed to. They were here till almost 7:00 that night. At the end they were rushing to get things done. If they had not gone to lunch for an hour, it might have made things a little bit better. And that entire time I either had my dog in our closed sunroom with me or outside. Plus, when they put the laminate flooring in, they took the trim off. Then they asked me if I wanted the new smaller and thinner trim they were putting in or the older stuff. I wanted the older stuff put in but they couldn't put it in right. The floor was put in okay but the trim was so mismatched, my husband had to take it out and put it in himself.
They didn’t speak English very well either, although the supervisor could. So the crew didn’t talk a lot but when they did, they were courteous so that wasn't a problem. They also cleaned up for the most part afterwards. However, I was hoping we’d get the same guys who installed our laminate flooring before. A couple of years back, I had laminate flooring put in by Empire Today too and the guys were great. They were very accommodating, pleasant and hardworking. And that crew had worked straight. Overall, it's just the installers that I wasn't too pleased with. I like the products themselves and the carpet is nice and soft. The cost was a decent amount and the quality is comparable to other brands.

We still have trouble with it and I don't know when it's going to be finished. I hope that that's still in process because right now the carpet is coming out from the metal strip even when they nailed our pocket doors shut. They started off good with the sales person getting to our house on time. She was very helpful coming up with options within our price range. We settled on carpet laminate & baseboard and got dates for install all set up for just a few days later. Then things started to go downhill from there. We received a confirmation that the install was set and we just needed to call to confirm. When we called to confirm they didn't have us set up for the dates we had asked for so then we had to sit on the phone for 40+ minutes trying to figure out what happened. The call ended in them saying they would make the original dates happen even if they had to work on it through the night (yeah right).
The next day was suppose to be laminate install day. We called to make sure it was on only to be told they aren't coming and someone had set our installs for different dates? Now we had taken vacation days for nothing and the dates set would not work with my wife and my work schedules so now we have a house ready for the install with stuff piled in rooms and bathrooms and we now have to wait 3 weeks for the final phase of the install instead of 1 week. To make it worse we contacted the sales lady to see what happened and she starts off the conversation saying "I know it's probably not your fault but." I know it's not our fault because we didn't change anything. Your company did!!!
So after that conversation we called to find out who made the changes without contacting us first and found out it was our sales lady!!! We now are by-passing her and working straight with the scheduler. We also were told we would receive a call the next day (yesterday) to confirm new dates and discuss some kind of comp for our inconvenience and of course so far we have not received a call. I am very unimpressed with the professionalism of this company so far! We have probably spent over 2 hours on the phone with them mostly on hold and we still haven't got anything installed. I am just keeping my fingers and toes crossed that the product and their work is better than what I have received so far from them.
Update to my last post. Our house has been taken apart and ready for install for over 3 weeks now because of Empire's screw up in the scheduling dept. The laminate was finally installed on July 3rd (originally scheduled for June 21st) and the installers were great. They were fast and friendly and did great work. Then we had to wait until the July 18th to do the carpet install which was done yesterday. Again the installers were great. The baseboards were scheduled to be finished today but once again Empire has screwed up and didn't schedule anyone because they said we told them the baseboards had been done??? Why would we tell them they had been done when they haven't???
We now have taken 2 days soon to be a 3rd day off of work for no reason because of Empire's scheduling screw-ups!! We told them to get someone out today but they said they couldn't pull anyone off a job, but it's perfectly fine to inconvenience us to have to take another day off work so they can come tomorrow!!! Empire's installers are great and their product is nice but their customer service is terrible and very unorganized!!! And don't be fooled by whoever supposedly answers these reviews. We have yet to be contacted by anyone from Empire and have not been offered any kind of compensation for all their screw-ups and the inconveniences they have caused us. This job was suppose to be done on July 3rd. It's currently July 18 and we still waiting for this to be completed. I will never recommend anyone to use Empire.
We have read your review and sincerely regret to hear that you were inconvenienced by this matter. Your satisfaction is important to us, and we'll be following up with you shortly to learn more.

The affordability and customer service were the reasons I decided to go with Empire Today. Being able to upgrade the carpet and the padding was what I was seeking in the first place, and this company was the only one out of several that allowed me to do that within my budget. I wouldn’t have done it if they weren’t affordable. They also have very good customer service, especially with regards to the salesperson I dealt with.
Ed is the salesperson. He was the deciding factor. But from the tons of reviews that I’ve been reading from different vendors, I was concerned about who they hire to install it. Because I can have a great sales experience but have a terrible installation experience. Having considered that aspect, I was very nervous. But they’ve exceeded everything that I had anticipated. They showed up on time and did not fiddle around. I also gave them no excuse to do that because clearly, I moved all the furniture. It was just an empty space so it would allow them no room to do that. But I don’t think that that would’ve made a difference based on the professional ethics and the way that they carry themselves.
The carpet had been installed over a month now, in the two bedrooms and in a living room. I wanted everything on my list and I received the carpet that I wanted. This is a point that I think is important. I could not anticipate what it would look like once it was installed. Even though I'm picking out a sample, I have to think about what it’s going to look like under our light and those types of things. With the color and particular style of carpeting that I picked, I was very pleasantly surprised that it was a good decision. But the most favorite part, in addition to that, is the padding. It's extremely comfortable and the quality is very good.
When the installers showed up, I could inspect the carpet and see if it is to my liking and if it is what I purchased. They do that ahead of time. If anytime I'm not happy with it even during the installation, I can have it returned. Those are the things that I didn’t expect that I did not have to emphasize. They showed that to me and followed the protocol. Those details are important, and are the things people take for granted as a consumer because they want good people to come in and install it and have no hiccups or no confrontation. I would recommend Empire Today very much. I was very happy and that’s rare to get every aspect of my purchase accomplished. I have gone through the wringer with even just trying to get estimates with local companies and nationwide companies. So, I consider myself fortunate.

My girlfriend also used Empire and she gave me hers. So, I had the information that I read and looked at. I then had the guy to come out here one day so I could see the colors.
I had laminate flooring installed in our two bedrooms, den, hallway and living room. I glanced over other products but they didn't match my kitchen and they all didn’t look interesting. I like the color of the ones I got. Whereas most people put it all in the same color, I had no intentions of doing that. I also didn’t want to take up the kitchen which is right by the hallway. So, my choice was a perfect match and they go beautifully together. White wouldn’t have gone that well. It was also a good price compared to some of the others. I got mine was on sale. However, some wax may have been on the flooring but some didn't have it. If someone walked in the front door, they wouldn’t notice it. But I do because I look at it every day.
The installers who came were good, very polite, they did their job, and they didn’t mess around. When they thought they weren’t going to finish, they asked me if it’d be okay if they completed the job because it was getting close to after working hours. I told them that was okay with me 'cause the sooner customers can get something done, they’re happy. So, they stayed here until they finished the whole job. They said that they would come back the next day and get the garbage and they did that. They didn’t come that morning but they called me, which was very nice, and then they came in the afternoon. They also called to see what was wrong without me calling again. If I wanted installers again, I would recommend them and ask for them. They were excellent employees and Empire Today should be grateful.
But I’m having problems with bugs and they’re up on the wall. I’ve had plants for over 50 years and I don’t want to take them off the patio and put them away. I also don’t want the tent put on the house because I don’t want to kill my plants. And so, I have my house checked several times during the year because I have a contract that I can call the exterminator out any time. But I don't think the installers would put the flooring down knowing that there are bugs in them. I don't know what they saw when they opened up the packages, but they would have called me and told me that I'm gonna have to go and get more packages. This morning, their rep called me and told me to take pictures and sent them to her. Otherwise, it's good stuff that I have from Empire. I had a fantastic experience with the installers and I’m very happy.

Empire Today treated us so poorly. They kept changing the dates of delivery and jerked us around that we had to cancel the order and go with a different company. At first they said that somebody forgot to order the product so they switched the laminate install with our vinyl install. The vinyl was supposed to be installed separately in the bathroom. They did the vinyl first although the day before the install of the laminate, they called to confirm the install the next day.
They took my payment of $6,000 over the phone. They got everything squared away and since somebody had to be here for the install, my mother drove all the way out from Idaho and got here at 12 noon only to receive a call from me saying that the manager said the product never arrived. I was called minutes before my mother pulled into the driveway. I told the manager that my mother was here and he said, "Well, think of it -- This is a good time to visit." I said I could Skype and talk to my mother all the time, I don't need to see her face-to-face, especially making a 72-year old woman drive like that. I know how powerful reviews are to the consumer, being a consumer myself. We use them to get to know a product/company. I had posted about my negative experience with Empire—yet never did a say the flooring was not beautiful. I was very unhappy about a “miscommunication” where I ended up being charged much more than agreed upon. I called in to Empire and as I shared in my original post I got juggled around with no resolve and a simple, “well you are in a contract.” Apparently, I wasn’t getting a hold of the right person. Finally, this past Friday, July 28, I received a call from Anthony **, who had been working on my issue without my knowing and called to reach a resolution, not only did he listen to what I had to say and understood my concerns, but he stood by what was right and found the error in billing and credited my account back to the original terms. I wish I would have spoken with him in the first place. Obviously, I cannot erase my review, and without resolve I would still be angered, but I can say being that a resolution has been reached, pretending this never happened and even with it happening I must say I am 100% satisfied with my product and service (now). If it would have been this way in the first place that 5-star review would have come sooner. Putting this aside at the end of the day I got great carpet and vinyl flooring that looks outstanding (which I said before) and for a great price being back at regular correct pricing terms. Companies big or small, just like people make mistakes and while I was angry I am happy now. I think the fact that they stood behind their product and honored the pricing they originally gave me shows they actually do care about the consumer and deserve some better credit. Note to Empire today: it is employees like Mr. ** that are truly an asset to your company and you should use him as a model employee in training the others this way and perhaps when an issue arises a remedy can be accomplished faster or at least get to the right person from the beginning. When working with people, you need employees that care and have effective communication skills which Mr. ** has mastered all around!
Original Review: July 12, 2017
Deceptive Practices and Pricing. I recently had carpet and vinyl flooring installed in my home. It is very nice, but it better be for the big price tag and bill I got AFTER being told I would be paying something else. We needed flooring and I shopped around with Empires competitors and then empire convinced me to at least do their free estimate saying they'd match the competitor. Of course when sales rep came out he found a reason to say we cannot match the flooring unless it's apples to apples. Of course the other companies don't use the same brand flooring... Go figure... But then he goes on to say I can come close to the pricing to downgrading you to the 15 year wear warranty instead of the 30 years and cut a room out and come pretty close to the competitors price. They were a little shy of 2500 in final costs and my competitor was just under 2000. In the end as he kept pushing this amazing warranty we decided to spend a little more.
I financed some of the purchase at 6 months interest free. Gave a 757 down payment and was told I would have an almost 1700 balance financed with a payment of about 50 monthly, but of course put more to take advantage of interest free in 6 months. The salesman after all his talking rushed me through signing because he was now running late for dinner. He was "sign here here and here" 4 different signatures in all. This is just got the Fortiva app and setting up/confirming installation dates. Never gave a breakdown of pricing or a total price in the writing. Said that would all be mailed to me. Well guess what I got a bill that totals 3000 for the finance company. So add that to the 757 I paid already that's almost 3800 for flooring. They are out of their minds! I would not pay double for all that I would have went with the competitor and had all the floors done. Ugh...so frustrating.
So then I call fortiva who says call empire and the only thing they say is "well you signed the contract, the contract is a binding document." Yes dummies I know what a contract is, but it is also not right to misrepresent a price in the sales. Let me backtrack to where they said the almost 2500 was for the carpet alone. They charged the vinyl separately. Our salesman said it was for everything! Almost like they trick you into something. I told them to credit me back to come to the original terms or take back all the flooring and reimburse me and call it even. All I get is that I signed a contract and it doesn't work like that. Seriously a business that is dependent on customers isn't interested in investing in customer satisfaction and attempting to remedy the situation.
Lady today from corporate said someone else will contact me because she can't tell me anything other than I am in a contract. They are probably going to juggle me around until they think I'll give up. Crazy outrageous business and sales tactics that takes no consideration to care for their customers. Once they make the sale and have their money they just don't care... Highly annoyed, and frustrated. Will never recommend them!

Empire Today advertised their 1/2 price deal of the century and it's all bull. Firstly, the person who showed up for our free estimate was unbelievably pushy. He started out friendly but when he realized my elderly mother wasn't going to be browbeaten into giving him an answer, he became rude and stormed out. That was after quoting us over $7000.00 to put flooring in a room that is under 400 square feet! That is outrageous and shows they are willing to overcharge and then the 1/2 price will bring it down to what it would cost normally. When he realized my mother wasn't going to let him bully her, he literally started walking out the door before she was even done writing down the quote.
These people are a scam and ripoff. You can find local handymen who will do just as good a job as these charlatans and pay half the price and have your money go into someone's pocket who deserves it instead of a greedy cow of a company like Empire that doesn't even train their estimators to not be complete **. I must say the actual product of laminate flooring and carpet are high quality and beautiful, however their customer service is a complete joke. I spent 13,000 dollars on 2005 square feet worth on laminate and carpeting. My downstairs was done is the walnut laminate and is beautiful. The installer hooked up my refrigerator incorrectly and as we were not yet living in the house, water leakage occurred in the kitchen and entry way. Water went under the laminate causing it to buckle. When I called customer service it took three tries before an actual person returned my call. When I finally got a call back, the "no questions asked guarantee" did not happen. I was questioned to the point of almost accusing that I had connected the appliance incorrectly.
They called the installer and thank goodness they were honest and said they had done it. It took over a week to get the installer back out to look at the damage, mold had started growing on my new house floors and trim at this point. They ripped out the damage and let it dry saying they would be back in three days to reinstall. Not only did they not show up, I had to again call the horrific customer service people - Jared in particular, and track down what was going on. No call no show. Had scheduled someone to be at my home since I work, just wasting their time waiting on installers that were not coming. Jared at customer service was completely useless and I had to request to speak with a manager. A manager was not available so they promised to call me back. Which they did and I got to deal with Ashley.
She was apologetic and listened to my frustrations with the entire process however was only able to blame all the "miscommunication" on the installer. So here I am with no recourse. I cant get my money back because I will have no flooring, I cannot get anyone out any sooner. I have half a kitchen floor and movers are coming tomorrow - the same day they are supposed to fix their mistake. If I could have it all ripped out and get my money back I would. I was offered nothing in compensation for my frustration or time lost at work. If you have any other options for flooring go with it because Empire Today's warranties are absolute crap.
Their customer service people pass the blame onto installers as if it is the client's fault they have communication issues. My sales consultant will only text me because she doesn't want to deal with my issues. Wonder what commission on 13000.00 dollars was? Maybe I should get phone calls in response. Over all I am so very disappointed in this. It’s stressful enough buying a new home and moving but this lack of respect as a customer is unacceptable in today's consumer environment.

After immediately calling customer service, we received a call back asking for pictures, which I sent. A call back a couple days later said we should go buy some touch up and fix it ourselves. After looking into it for a multi-colored floor, I called back to let them know they needed to make it right. Over a week later, I sent an email to the customer rep asking for contact and response. Empire Today are a bunch of clowns that don't deserve one penny of your hard earned money. I have endured more than the cost of my carpet in lost wages due to their ineptitude. First, it took more than a month just to have my carpet prepared for installation. That's right... 30+ days for a piece of carpet. Then they sent 3 installers to my home WITHOUT EVEN MAKING AN APPOINTMENT! My wife happened to be home with our daughter, 2 of the 3 didn't speak any English. The one who did was sparse, and my wife couldn't understand what he was trying to tell her. So the installers decide to invite themselves into the house against my wife's wishes. I had to rush home because she was quite shaken. When I got there, the installers were taking measurements (something that was done a month prior) then claimed not to have the correct carpet and left.
That was 2.5 weeks ago. I called to cancel my order and the cancellation department was apologetic, cut my price back 25% and said they would return to install on 12 July 17 at 8 AM. At 9 AM I contacted them and they said they have nothing scheduled for my installation at all. Please don't waste your money. I had some carpet installed in my living room, dining room, and my stairs by Empire. There was another brand that I called, but I wasn't that satisfied. Empire's cost was satisfactory. They also had more variety to choose from and that was the most important to me. I was surprised about something that they did, but it worked out all right. The living room flows into the dining room. The last carpet that I had laid over 20 years ago was all the way through. With Empire, the installer cut the carpets. They put it in the living and the dining room and started in the dining room. Maybe that is the way that they do it today though. If I'd look hard enough, I could see the seam where it stopped and started. But it doesn't bother me and no one else would pay attention to it.
What I really like about the experience is that when I called them to come out, they were here within a few days and the carpet was laid. I did not have to wait for a long time and I was really impressed by that. But there was an overcharge and I was a little bit upset about that. They wanted to take the carpet out of the van and they had to have somewhere to lay it before they bring it in. They couldn't do it in my garage because I have things in there and there was nowhere else to lay the carpet. One of the installers said that if they try to do it outside and it would rain, that would be a problem. And he asked me to sign something saying that I would not hold them responsible if anything happened which of course I wouldn't do. I told them "Look, it's not raining now. You are professionals. Do your job." That's what happened and everything worked out. It didn't rain after all.
Nonetheless, I would recommend Empire to a friend. I'm satisfied and I love the carpet. I like the quality and the color. It's a very pale purple. When I brush my hand across one way, it's light. And if I brush my hand the other way, it's dark. It blends with my furnishings and what I have. My husband is crazy about it, too. The only thing that I really want which I called about is someone to send me some information on the care. If I or someone else spills something on it, what is the best clean up method to use?

We called customer service and my daughter even talked to the manager. They said they were going to call, but they haven't and it's been over a month. I'm sure I didn't miss the call because I haven't been leaving the house.
Empire wants their money upfront and I understand that, but I'd like to have my floors working right. I'm 77 and I'd like to enjoy them before I go. Everybody that saw the floors said they look good, but the squeaking is everywhere, including in the dining room, down the hall, and in my room, so it's not the installer's fault. The product had a flaw in it. Things like that happen and I'm not mad about it, but I'm getting mad because they haven't fixed it. I want Empire to take them out and put some new ones in. The installation was a little bit rough but not as bad as I thought it would be. We had it done on a Saturday and it took up my weekend. I had a lot of stuff lying around and they helped get it all moved and put it back. I like the look of the flooring in the house and it's very comfortable. It seems to be a good quality and makes the house seem cleaner, easier to clean and brighter. The whole experience was quick, easy and they have a good value.

Empire Today was recommended highly to me by someone who used them before. I had them install flooring in the hallway, living room, dining room, kitchen and wash area of my home. I had a great sales rep and she was very thorough. She was also very knowledgeable which was what I was looking for. However, the installation was not a pleasant situation. The first time, Empire's installers came, they could not install because I had a break in my floor and I had to call a carpenter to have that repaired. Furthermore, we had a language barrier with the installers. On the second attempt, it was raining the day they were supposed to come out and my garage wasn't big enough for them to cut what they needed to.
The third time, they could not complete the installation because they measured wrong. During that process their installers damaged my stove. The fourth time, they came back to finish the installation and we had a language barrier again with that installer. He was supposed to take a look at our stove but he didn't know anything about it. And so, that didn't go well. It took almost 30 days before I got a resolution for the stove.
I wasn't pleased with Empire's process at all because I was told one thing and that didn't happen. I finally had to go to the headquarters and was told something else which worked. The person who delivered the first message for Empire didn't care at all because the information she had given me was totally wrong. That was not a good experience and it put a damper on me. While I'm satisfied with the flooring and I liked its color, it would be helpful if everybody was on the same page especially if there was some damage involved.

I ordered blinds for six windows on 4/10/17. It's now 7/9/17 and I'm still waiting. When they first came to install, three of the blinds were the wrong color and one was the wrong size. After calling and calling (and nobody ever calling me back), they finally came to reinstall. They came with two blinds, both the wrong color and both the wrong size. I've now been calling again and nobody has called me back, despite being promised several times that somebody will. The last time I called I was told that my order was complete. It's been three months. I've paid in full (they won't even take them out of the box and let you inspect them without you paying first), and I even paid extra to get the color I wanted. In all my many, many years of being a consumer, this has been the worst experience of my life. By far.

We had a salesman come today to give us a quote. We are ready to buy and were very excited about the sale since we know Empire has good quality material. We really liked the salesman. He was very friendly and helpful, and we had no problem choosing a laminate that we liked. However, the price quoted is criminal, extortion really... Are you ready?? $39,000 for 1600 sq. ft. of laminate. But, don't worry. On sale, it's only $19,500! Killer deal. In case you don't want to do the math, apparently the original price of the laminate installed by Empire is $23 per sq. ft.! It must be made with gold flakes. Half price is $11.50 per sq. ft., which is more reasonable for full-price high-quality material, but certainly not any sort of sale.
Doubling the original price and then reducing it by 50% is NOT a sale, and such a poor sales tactic in this case is obvious. I called customer service, and while the agent was helpful and seemed as outraged as myself, her manager said, "It could be correct" and would not budge on the price. Well, this is the third property I have installed flooring in a property during the last three years, and I will obviously not be moving forward with your company. Very disappointed. Buyer beware!

Now our building was built in 92. My advice for Empire Today is to educate your employees. Sad thing is the sales rep told us he never had this issue come up before. Waited 3 weeks and they lifted 1 tile and left.

Empire’s a reputable company. My girlfriend is a real estate agent and she gave me some scenarios where even she had clients that were really happy with them. I used them and did the loan in my husband’s name but Dana, the salesperson that came to our house put it in my name. I found that out the day we were supposed to have the carpet installed and it made some kind of snafu because the names didn’t match.
The people who came to install said that they had a CD and I said that we got a loan and we don’t owe them money. And so, I called the Dana told her the situation. I asked if she could switch into my husband’s name. She said that there's another piece of paper that needed to be filled out. It’s just that the installation cannot be done that day. I asked if she could scan and fax the paperwork then I could scan it back to her as I have a scanner at my house. She was like, “No” and she just immediately got rude. My interpretation of her behavior was she was defensive because there was a problem.
If only she would handle it like she was sorry and that she would call somebody to see if she can get some paperwork over just so that the carpet can be installed that day. Even if she said it nice, I would have understood, but she didn’t. She got real defensive and raised her voice at me. I got pissed and I was like, “I just spent $3000 with your company. I'm not gonna be talked to like this. You made a mistake. You need to fix it. I'm gonna report your company to the Better Business Bureau.” And she said, “It doesn’t affect me. I don’t care.” She was so nasty and I could not believe a salesperson acted like that. That’s like you-need-to-be-out-of-the-door behavior. I was crying and the sweet installer came over, patted me on the back and calmed me down. I just liked her, she was really good. I requested her to install my carpet which ended up getting done on a Monday and that was a Friday.
I talked to the sales manager and the customer service lady at Empire. They were all apologetic and they got us hooked up with another salesperson because that person had to come out and sign the new paperwork. His name was Mike. He came on Saturday and was super nice. He told us that Dana could have had another sales rep from the area including him ran over to the house because it was early enough to sign the paperwork and it would have been completely fine. Then I asked Mike if they have this thing where they would call once a year to remind us on our anniversary of our install to do the carpeting cleaning as what Dana told us and he said that they don’t do that. And so, Dana lied as well.
Everything else was perfect. They gave me $100 off and it truly came through when I got my bill, it was only $2900. They did what they were supposed to do. It's more of a good reflection on Empire because they cleaned it up without Dana. I freaking loved the flooring and I called it my big girl carpeting. I like the style and the comfort. My mom and I had competition like my carpet is better than hers. She came over and she's like, “No, mine is bigger and cheaper.” But my carpet is so nice. We've only had one accident. My dog has white hairs and it gets on the carpet. But I could vacuum it right off and there’s no problem. Empire Today’s pretty good, almost near excellent except for one snafu.

Our salesman was great--prompt, professional, polite, knowledgeable. Our chosen flooring (carpet and LVP) did not "qualify" for the advertised 50% discount--evidently very few products do-- but we did receive a discount of about $2500 off of a $10k job. The LVP installers were fast & did a decent job, but did not speak English. That made it hard to discuss payment or issues with the floor. The carpet installers were a little better, but they left the flooring feeling very uneven in spots under the carpet. The carpet color did not at all match the pictures I took of the sample board, but it was acceptable. We paid by check for both installs--no problems with the LVP, but it took us over an hour with customer service to process the carpet payment.
Empire processes as an e-check, but uses some 3rd party company to give approval/denial for checks, & the authorizations have nothing to do with available funds (only some algorithm this outside company uses based on check numbers and check amounts). So, for no reason, this company kept denying our payment despite the fact that there was plenty of money in account to cover the payment. I almost cancelled the job and ordered carpet elsewhere, but we were finally able to work it out.

Installation crew damaged our fridge. Guys came on Monday to do our kitchen floors with LVT tiles and moved the appliances into the living room and started working on the kitchen floors. However, the installer realized during demolition that we may have asbestos and had to stop the work. NO papers were signed that day for our kitchen and the appliances were moved back into the kitchen and the guy left. We were unable to go into our kitchen at all because the floors were half way torn apart and we had to block them off with a baby gate since our son is 10 months old and crawls, and since we have a dog. The following day, a new crew of installation guys came to put down LVP flooring instead and we went into the kitchen. That is when I seen the fridge. The installer said to call our sales rep right away which I did and sent her a picture and she said no worries Empire will take care of it.
I signed the Completion papers for the new crew that came on Tuesday in which they did a great job and there were no issues at all with them. 2 weeks later, I get an email from Empire stating that only $200 will be credited to my account. I am livid and still fighting this because the doors should be 100% replaced. I do not want a credit on my account but new doors to be put on my new Samsung fridge that we just purchased 4 months ago. I am very disappointed with the way Empire is handling this situation. We spent a little more than $8000 for floors throughout our entire house for us to just be treated this way. I will continue to fight this until it is taken care of.

They went the extra mile to make sure I was more than satisfied with their work. However my salesman assured me they would have enough vinyl for my entry way and they did not. The crew showed me every piece of vinyl they used and there was not a single piece that was 33. Now the carpet... I was very disappointed that my carpet was laid in pieces. I felt as though I had bought remnants. 4 pieces in my living room and 4 pieces in my bedroom. I can feel the seams when I walk on them. I assumed when I purchased wall to wall carpeting that it would only be pieced if it was absolutely necessary to accommodate the size of the room. Extremely disappointed with the carpeting. My husband and I are just two weeks away from having our 4th child and we're finishing the basement to make more room for our growing family. We hired Empire to install the carpet and they were scheduled to come out on Friday 6/30/2017. We were given a ridiculous time frame of 9am-6pm. They didn't show up until 5:30pm in order to do the job.
They put the padding down and then informed my husband that they didn't have all of the carpet that they needed to finish the install and that they would have to come back Monday 7/3/2017 to finish it. Unfortunately my husband had to leave the house for work that day and I also had to step out to run a few errands. Of course that was when the installer showed up with no prior warning and called my husband. We were told he would return the following day. We waited around all day for him to show up and at 2pm we got a text message stating that he wouldn't be coming. My husband asked when he was available and we haven't heard from him since.
I called Empire's customer service in order to figure out what was going on and I was told we would have to wait until 7/13/2017 for the next available install... I told the cs rep that I wouldn't be waiting that long and that I wasn't happy with the way things were being handled. She moved the install date up to 7/7/2017 with the same window of 9am-6pm and told me that I had to call the morning of to get a better time frame... When she transferred me to the department that handles discounts/compensation for inconveniences I was given a runaround and told that they would give me a $50 discount, which is honestly just adding insult to injury. My husband and I paid over $1500 in full prior to the installation.
I asked for a manager and when I told him what was happening he basically told me that I shouldn't have even been offered the $50 off and that because I got a discount on the carpet itself any other discount would lose money for the company and made the implication that I should just be happy with the $50 off since he couldn't take back the offer. I told him that I was shocked that a highly recognized and reputable company would treat their customers in such a way as to blow them off. He told me that he was "Sorry that I felt that way but, thanks for calling" and hung up on me. I would most definitely recommend using a different company, one that values their clients time.

I was told every time I called that, "These things take time, please be patient". They never called me. This month, July 5th specifically, I was told the claim was denied, but they couldn't tell me why. You should also know that if you wish to escalate your issue, this company protects their corporate offices. You cannot call corporate directly. You have to request a "ticket" through customer service and someone may call you back.
There are no pets or children on this carpet. It is discolored right in the middle of my living room after less than 6 months. Even after a professional cleaning, with Hagopian, the carpet is dramatically discolored. I can't decide which is more heartbreaking the fact that my brand new carpet is defective or the fact that I did business with a company that doesn't care. I will file in small claims court. Do not do business with this company. One last thing, I am a very reasonable person, not a chronic complainer. Do not believe I am some difficult person and this won't happen to you. Before you buy from them, test what I'm saying. Try to speak with someone at corporate as if you have a problem. You will instantly see.

The level of incompetence related to my attempts to schedule a power stretch for my [previously installed] carpet cannot be adequately communicated in the space that is allotted here. I had an appointment scheduled for July 5th 2017. It was bad enough the window for service was between 8am and 6pm (which is in itself ridiculous and shows an inability of a company to be customer focused), but on top of that, they never showed; and, I was not informed of their decision NOT to follow through with the service until I called at 3:30 in the afternoon. This blatant disregard to a customer's time causes a rage that cannot be understated.
After the appointment was rescheduled, I was promised that I would receive the first morning appointment. Of course the morning came and went and there was no show. I was then told the appointment would be in the afternoon and I should call at 1030 to receive a time window. After many calls, I was told a technician would arrive between 2 and 4. Although I have impressed upon them the need to receive a call one half hour in advance, 4 pm came near and no call was received. So I called for a status. Mind you through this entire process I have been disconnected four times -- a few of which I believe were deliberate. This frustrating process created for the customer shows a lack of professionalism and complete absence of competence in terms of managing your customer's servicing needs.
I have multiple investment properties and would like to think I could rely on this company for all my flooring related needs from installation to maintenance to repurchase; however, this experience has caused me to rethink my strategy. I will likely NEVER use the service of this company again! I am completely disgusted at the fact that I have to take time out of my busy schedule (away from my career and family) to tend to this matter with a company that has no respect for a customer's time.

I had them install the carpet in our front room and hallway. This is the second time I've used them. I replaced the carpet they put in 10 years ago which was still in good shape, it just got stained and were patterned so, we updated. The installer was phenomenal both times. He's clean, detailed, polite and he did a great job. Everything was touched so nice and the carpet is wonderful.

Installers of hardwood floors were very professional and respectful of my property. Used Empire in the past and was highly satisfied. Would definitely recommend, my hats off to you Empire for your quality and expertise. To the gentleman who gave the free estimate, thank you for your professionalism and taking your time to go into detail with all of the options presented to us.

The carpet looks great in our basement. It did take full 12 hours to install because there were only two men sent to install it. I was expecting more than two people to show up, so was seriously disappointed at the fact that Empire only sends two people to do installations no matter what. That seems ridiculous to me and unfair to the employees.

Love the company... I called Tuesday morning to set up a home visit, I was shocked to hear that a rep is available in our area tonight. He arrived on time, we told him our budget and he showed us which products would fit us financially. Once all the paperwork was finalized the installment crew arrived Saturday and laid down our new carpet quickly and correctly. The whole process from beginning to end was impressive and I definitely would recommend to family and friends, Thank you Empire!!! :-)

Rude!!! Contractor failed to collect full amount at the time of service. When they discovered it sent a bill then called and demanded the money right then and there. Had gotten the bill the previous day. Treated us as if we had done something wrong when in fact it was their error. Then acted if we were not going to pay the difference. Totally horrible attitudes. Never recommend them to do anything.
We're sorry to hear about this, and we'll be investigating this matter further.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Had laminate flooring installed two weeks ago. Was given inaccurate information about the molding choices and consequently have a beautiful floor and damaged molding which will need to be replaced. I have contacted Robert **, Ashley **, and Massee ** by phone and email and have included pics. NO RESPONSE FROM ANYONE!

Our biggest complaint is the lack of customer service since the installation of our carpet. We called our sales rep after the carpet installation and explained our issues with the carpet installation. He told us to call customer service, which we did. They said that they would have someone call us to set up an appointment to come by the house to look at the issues in question, but that never happened.
Because we left town the day after the installation, there were issues we didn't notice until we returned 4 days later. The main problem was the installation on the stairway, which, in our opinion, was done poorly. There was a visible hole in the wall near one of the steps and the cuts made to the carpet for the stairs were sloppy. We didn't think it would be a problem to have them come back out and fix those issues, but Empire dropped the ball and never followed up.
We regret to hear about the lack of communication that you received. We'll be following up with you soon to learn more.
Thank you.

I am currently working with local Houston personnel to resolve my squeaky laminate floors. Met with an inspector today who will be submitting information to Corporate Empire. I had to call back 3 times to get an inspector scheduled, however. I was satisfied with my installer, but then floor began to squeak. Installer came back out to rectify, removed a portion of the floor, but it is still not fixed. Very disappointed.
We regret to hear that you feel this way. We'll be in contact with you soon to further address your concerns.
Thank you.

Installer did a great job and fixed a spot on the floor before getting started and when finished it looked great. Estimator was pretty thorough and did a great job in showing samples and colors. I'm happy overall and would use again when the next project is ready and have recommended to friends.

Empire came to my rescue, when after waiting for 2.5 weeks for my carpet from Home Depot. They sent a lesser grade of the carpet I ordered. So I told them to load it up and give me my money back! The situation put me behind on my timeline to remodel my condo. So I remember the Empire commercial from when I was a kid. The salesman came out the same day, and the next day I had carpet installed. Woohoo happy with the service and quality, and installation. Thanks again Empire!

I was set on going with Empire Today since I dealt with them before. I wanted to make sure I was getting a good price so I did a price check and found out that Empire's cost was better than Home Depot's. They had a special going on at the time. I had them install laminate flooring in my dining room, living room, two bedrooms, and a hallway. I like the flooring's aesthetics. It's sleeker, classy-looking, and easy to clean. Also, the workers that Empire Today sent were awesome. They were professional, on time, clean and neat. And they didn't waste time. They told me what time they were gonna be there and they left at a decent time. They came in, did their work, cleaned up, and they left. I was very pleased with their work.

We were very happy with our experience with Empire. Our salesperson wasn't the greatest as I did not hear a peep from him after we scheduled the install appointment and I actually emailed him asking him a question with no response. The customer service people I talked to were very nice and helpful. The installers were great. The floor looks wonderful and we're very happy with it so far (been a few weeks). Overall, I would recommend the company, not necessarily the salesperson who came to our house.

When room is closed off windows are closed there is a terrible smell. The installer said he smelled nothing. Then said that smell was because the carpet was new. I asked him how long does it take for smell to leave, he doesn't know. I'll give it another month. If I still have that smell I will be getting in touch with your corporate office. I'm very disappointed in Empire.

Very friendly from beginning to end. Got a quote and carpet installed within a few days. They offered to come earlier, but I was not ready for them. The salesperson was very informative and helpful and actually recommended a few things that were cheaper or not needed. The installers gave me some extra carpet squares for basement laundry room.

The experience with Empire was a pleasure from beginning to end - I got a number of estimates, and theirs was the lowest by thousands of dollars to replace all the carpet in the house. The estimator was expert, and helped guide the selection of carpet, and was willing later to come out and meet with the realtor to make sure that the color was good for getting the house sold quickly - the reason for the replacement. On the day of installation, the crew was on time, polite, and worked diligently until everything looked perfect. Should I ever need carpet installed in the future, I wouldn't bother with estimates - I would unhesitatingly go with Empire.
