Empire will work with you to find a time that fits best in your schedule for an experienced estimator to come out and evaluate your home. They're open, honest, informative and will meet you at your needs depending on what it is you're looking for. The installation turnaround was remarkably fast - between 500-600 square feet was turned around in just a day's time. The attention to detail/finishing alongside the walls is beautiful. Seamless process all around, highly recommend!

Love my new kitchen floors (laminate floating boards). They are easy to clean and looks very stylish. I also got Berber carpet installed in my family room and it's nice and cozy in the room now...very nice people that installed the carpet and they were done quickly. The person that did the floors in the kitchen was a little bit overwhelmed but he did a great job by himself.

We had LVP installed in our house. The installers were supposed to make it out on Saturday, so none of us missed work, but could not make it and came out on Sunday. Then they could not finish because there were boxes with the wrong color. So they came out Monday, same thing happened, there were boxes with the wrong color. So then they came out Tuesday and finally finished. My husband had to take 3 days off of work for this. They also did not clean the basement, it was left dusty and dirty with cans of coke laying around. We also had requested that the LVP be used with a self-leveling adhesive, which it was not. The flooring pops up in certain places when you walk on it. I would like compensation in regards to my husband missing work because warehousing and the installers could not get their act together. On top of all of that, when I talked to someone in management, they were very disrespectful.

I had a terrible time because my plans were to pay through my home equity loan which by the way had zero balance. Not one person advised me you do not accept payment with a home equity loan check which is ridiculous. My check did not go through, I was charged a fee by your company and when I called my bank they said nothing came through for any check written. It turned out to be a very bad time for me. In the end my fee was reimbursed but it caused me a lot of embarrassment unnecessarily. Poor communication on your part. It took me three days to figure out what was going on.

I needed new flooring, decided to try Empire Carpet because I saw a commercial on TV. The salesman came to my house and helped me pick out the flooring. I loves having the samples right there in front of me. He was very patient and helpful as I went back and forth several times because I couldn't choose. The price was very fair. The installation was next day! The installers worked so hard. I have never seen anyone work so hard. My floors seriously look beautiful. I wish I used Empire in the past with my previous flooring because I was so satisfied.

Vinyl flooring repair. The first floor man that put the vinyl flooring down did not have enough so he laid it the wrong direction to make it fit. Lots of bubbles so it came back and repaired it but still wasn't acceptable. If fellow named Saul and his partner came and removed the vinyl properly, cleaned the cement which took hours and laid my beautiful vinyl floor. The job was done perfectly above and beyond what I would ever have expected.

They didn't explain what they were doing and we communicated the best we could by hand signals. Once they were finished, a week later we got a phone call stating we needed to make another appointment to bind our carpet. I asked what that was and none has been able to answer that questions. I had upgraded laminate and carpet from Empire Today. We took advantage when Dan called and told us that they were having a half off special and decided to go with that. We had the entryway, hallway, kitchen, laundry and family rooms done with laminate and had the carpet on the living and formal dining rooms. I'm waiting for the next special to do the rest of the bedrooms but I have to wait until I finish paying for this one.

They came in and did the job and it was a great experience. The salesman wasn’t pushy and answered all my questions. I could ask him something and he would return my call where most salesmen won’t. I was very happy about that and I think it’s really imperative because a lot of times the salesman would just turn it over to the installation people then you lose contact, and if something goes wrong you can't do anything about it. I called the office and there's a girl there that was very nice and friendly but the salesman was the deciding factor.

He went out of his way and took the time even though he was busy with other things. I don't usually recommend because when I do, they fall short but Empire Today did a good job. The workers were great. I had a little snag here and there but he was very willing to come back the next day on his own time and all worked out fine and the product was very good. I love the carpet and it's dog friendly. All of my little toy Havanese dogs are house broke but I had one little dog come visit me. The next morning, I find a little pile of urine on my carpet and I possibly had a cardiac arrest but it came right off. I was so happy I've gotten the pet-resistant carpet.

I had my other rugs installed by Empire Today and liked them, so I decided to go again. I’ve recently had them install rugs in the dining room, living room and down the hall. We did go to Lomax on the first time, but the one we chose was cheap and they felt cheap. But when we called Empire Today, and the quality was better. We went with a small multicolor shade and we love it. It has met our expectations and anybody who would come in would ask where our flooring came from, and I would tell them that it's Empire. Empire is one of the best companies out there. They come, they install, they move your furniture, and they put it back where you want them. Our experience has been absolutely enjoyable.

Very upsetting experience with Empire Today. Bought a carpet runner from Empire on 6/8/17. Installers came 3 times with a roll of carpet with no binding. The 4th install day on 6/26/17, I was put on a PM schedule. The installer called at 5:45 and said he could be at my house by 7:30 pm. I told him to go home. I canceled my order on 6/27/17 when one more installer showed up with carpet with no binding again! Four days out of my life waiting for a carpet runner with binding. It never happened. Amy promised to take care of my problem, then did nothing.

However, I was upset with the pricing because I never did get an answer and I didn't understand it. I could never find out what the price was that I would have paid and I don't believe that it's the sale price, but I am happy that I have a new rug.

Nine days ago I had carpet installed on my stairs. When the installers finished, there were gaping holes between the molding and the carpet, painting chips out of the wall near where they removed carpeting. I was told by the salesman Tery ** that the molding is part of the package and would be replaced. I was told this on the day of the sale and on the day of the installation. Tery told me that they would be out in the next few days. I got a call almost one week later from installation that it was not part of the installation to install molding. I have continued to leave messages for the salesman without one return call from him or a supervisor to correct this problem.

I called Empire to have an expert advise me on the type of flooring required for my needs. I figured I would need tile flooring because I have dogs that are inside. I have another home with tile and laminate flooring and the tile has stood up. I was looking to put tile in for my ground floor. Empire sent a sales rep out. He was very nice and brought a lot of samples with him - with the exception of tile. He said that Empire was moving away from tile. He showed us some products. I told him what I was looking for. I wanted something durable, to withstand scratching from the dogs running, something that I could easily clean up dog accidents without a remaining odor. This sales rep told me that deluxe luxury vinyl plank would be the most durable material for my needs and that it would be more durable than tile. He said that it wouldn't scratch and as long as I cleaned up any accidents quickly, nothing would absorb into the product.

Now, keeping this in mind, it was my intention to put this product into the entire downstairs - including the kitchen. The rep said this product was basically bullet proof. He showed us a picture of it after installation and it looked beautiful. So, essentially he talked us out of tile from stating that this product would last longer, be more durable, and won't scratch. I had it installed mid March 2017. I didn't like the way it looked once the install was complete. It looks and feels cheap. It definitely doesn't look like the picture we were shown. More concerning are the scratches. I can run my fingernail on this product and it scratches. I have 4 dogs. They are dachshunds. It's not like they are St. Bernard's or anything. Scratches everywhere. Not what I was expecting on a product that was sold to me as more durable than tile... and especially when this was one of my specific concerns to begin with.

Also, in the kitchen, I dropped a glass in the floor and it shattered. No big deal right? Wrong. From a glass, the flooring is cut, torn, cracked... however you want to put it. I dropped a glass and it made cuts in the flooring which has exposed what appears to be cloth-like material within the plank. There are also marks in the floor from where chairs are sitting on it - with nobody sitting in them!! This product is cheap and does not stand up to what I was told when we were convinced to purchase it.

Empire is a big company so I was sure they would rectify this issue. I happened to receive a call from them marketing some other product and I voiced my concerns. The person I initially spoke to was very helpful and forwarded my information to their Lake Isabella, CA office. A Gilbert ** called me back and was so rude! I am in management and I have never heard such rudeness from a customer service rep in my life!! Arguing, interrupting... When I told him the damage that was done from a glass that I dropped on the floor, his response was, "You expect us to replace or refund your flooring because you wrecked it? If you wrecked your car, would you take it back to the dealership and demand they refund or replace it?" I was absolutely floored. Asked to speak to his supervisor and he kept sending me to voicemail.

I had my boyfriend call to speak to his supervisor and he got the same treatment. He was a bit more persistent and kept calling Gilbert back until the manager finally answered the call. The manager was very professional and called me and apologized. He said he would send someone out to assess the damage. A tech came out yesterday. He has been with Empire for 2 years. He is actually the same person that dropped off the flooring prior to install. He told me that the flooring is cheap, 2 years old and Empire was pushing it for whatever reason. He said that for my needs, tile would've been a better option and this flooring was cheap.

He acknowledged the damage from the glass I dropped and agreed that it was not the product for my needs or for the kitchen!!! A lot of things get dropped in a kitchen! He saw the scratches all over the floor and told me Empire would call me to try and repair it but they would come out and polish it with an oil that would hide the scratches until my housekeeper mopped again. This is not the product that was sold to me. He advised me to keep calling and he would send his report to Empire. I also found a piece in the bathroom that still had marks on it from when they were cutting it to install. I sent a picture to the tech and he said that those shouldn't be there. I already know that but it was nice to have more validation.

Today I received a call from Empire. Can you believe it was Gilbert?!! He told me he wanted to set up an appointment for repair. I asked, "Repair of what?" He accused me of yelling at him. When I told him I wasn't yelling, (I was at work at the time and in an office. Not going to be doing any yelling) he repeated the same thing. He wanted to set up an appointment for repair. I told him that I wanted a refund or replacement with tile as the product is not performing the way it was sold to me. He interrupted me and stated he didn't need to hear what the technician said to me and that wasn't his job. He stated that his job was to make a repair appointment. He continued to interrupt me so I couldn't speak at all! Again... unbelievable. I asked if he was the same person I spoke to 2 weeks ago and he claimed to not know. Please. I know it was him. I just wanted to see if he would acknowledge it.

Obviously, the manager didn't consider the first conversation with Gilbert as an issue. My boyfriend attempted to reach the same manager again today and was sent to voicemail again - still no return call as I write this and it is 1800. I am writing this to maybe get someone higher up's attention so maybe Empire can fix what they did. I haven't called an attorney yet as I want to give them time to fix their issue. But there are so many issues with this particular case. I just can't believe this is happening with a big company like Empire. Hopefully, they will do the right thing.

However when the job was completed one of the guys, said that he needed the card again to get the security code. Had I been thinking, I would have told him to get it from the billing office. My card had never been used. However, 3 charges showed up on my card two days after the install. I cannot say that they were the responsible party, but I recommend that billing should be handled by the customer and billing office prior to install. I was the third family member to get new flooring and I was the only one that experienced a problem.

Wrong color carpet installed colors: Splendid vs. Stunning - During the week of April 27, 2017, carpet was installed in our home. Because my family was on spring break, we decided this was the opportune time to move furniture and ensure our new carpet was being met with the utmost cleanliness. The carpet looked amazing. We were extremely happy, as we had the interior of our home painted and so it complemented the new carpet... which was the plan! "Very happy with the outcome!"

Because our home was custom made, our bedrooms are awkward shaped and significantly large. Again, we were home on spring break, so this allowed time to put the furniture back in place and plan for the completion of the installation. (We chose to have our downstairs area master bedroom, the upstairs hallway, my office, and 2 of our upstairs bedrooms carpeted first.) We informed our sales representative that we would contact him in a week or so for the completion of the installation, as this would give us time to recoup from spring cleaning, painting and moving the furniture back in to the respective areas.

The next week, I sent a text to the sales rep's phone. I let him know we were ready to install the remaining 3 rooms. My text sent on April 19, 2017, "Hi Mr. Jim! The gentlemen were great and the carpet looks amazing. Thank you. When you have time... would you verify the cost of carpeting the last 3 rooms, please? Thank you in advance. Have a blessed rest of your afternoon." His response sent Saturday, April 22, 2017. "I'm sorry I didn't get back to you with the price on the other rooms. I'll be home in about an hour and my tablet is there and I'll call. Thanks Jim" I then went on to reply.."Hello... Not a problem. They called me due to my survey... Nothing with you, the installer questions on the survey was the reason for their call. (No walk through... On the phone with Luna for 25 minutes about an account instead of Empire, contract wasn't verified prior to installation.) Be safe! Thank you!!"

I suppose we should have seen an issue brewing at this point. So... as time progressed, the sales rep replied, "I've been having tablet issues and my pricing and diagrams have been removed from my tablet. I'm currently on vacation and will not be available until May 2. I can come over and remeasure and price those rooms that week." My response, "Hope you enjoy your vacation!! The month of May is crazy for us both. We have band concerts, recognition dinners, field trips, retirement dinners... Throughout the month. We are not home until after 6:30 May 2. Not sure what your hours are. Otherwise... I am available on Friday, May 19, but not my husband as his school district has their retirement dinner. So if papers need to be signed, he's not avail. We were hoping for May 20 installation. We are actually home on that day??? If we can't make it happen... we will look into June." -- So again... I hope you see my positivity and excitement!! The sales rep's response was "Thanks."

May 2, 2017... I sent another text, "Hello Mr. Jim! I pray your vacation was great! Can you look at your schedule and tell us when you can come for the new measurements? We want to try and get the other rooms carpeted soon. Thanks!" The next morning, we received a text, "Give me a day and time. How about Saturday morning? Around 8:30 to 9?" So, to move things along... He came over Thursday, May 4 around 8:10... After hours for him, so we were eternally grateful. He measured the rooms, told us the cost and my husband signed the contract. "I was happy... My home is almost complete with the upgrades we wanted to achieve."

Carpet installation day is Saturday, May 6, 2017. The gentlemen (2 Hispanic guys) arrived at 8:00. They provided us with info that they were there to install carpet, we verified that info to be correct. They went to the van, came in our home and went hard to work. They worked continuously! Because the last 3 rooms to complete were upstairs, we stayed out of their way and let them do their work.

Fast forwarding a bit to my disappointment... The carpet is installed and my husband and I are sought out by the older gentleman whom asked us to take a look. So with excitement, I prance up the staircase and upon looking at the first room... it appears to be slightly off from the hallway that connects it and that was installed about 2 weeks prior. As my smile begins to turn upside down, I move to the next room and the next to find the carpet color is INCORRECT! I let the installer know. He states, "This the color they give me to install." He then provides the 800 number to Empire for me to call. So, after he leaves... I'm in tears! I have 3 rooms that are totally beautiful, but the color of the carpet is absolutely off from the remaining color originally installed.

As my husband attempts to comfort me, he says, "Maybe it looks different due to the cloudy day." I advised him... "The original carpet has no signs of black specks but the newly installed carpet has it!!" I was so hurt, upset, at a loss for words. "Besides, this is our home, our investment!" After an hour of contemplating calling, my husband suggested we should pray before I contacted the company, as being upset and angry would only fuel the fire. "I listened...we prayed."

Sunday morning, I figured okay God, perfect time to call before church so I could be in the right mindset. So because we attend 8:30 service, I called around 7:45-8:00. While explaining the situation to the young lady... I advised I waited, as I was upset and angry the previous day... and I wanted to conduct business cordially. She was nice and looked to see what the issue could have been with my claim that the carpet was the wrong color. She then provided me with 2 different numbers (they were the numbers to identify the carpet colors.)

OK... So, I'm not crazy! "They are indeed 2 different colors!!" So, I go to a high pitches, "Thank you Lord", as I simply needed the reassurance that I was not seeing things, the cut made it different... You know... Trying to justify even the cloudy day may have been a factor. BUT... her verification solidified my claim!! She then stated she would send the complaint up the ladder and it could take up to 24 hours. Okay... I've gone 48... what's 24 more, right?

So, Monday, the next day...I receive a call from a very kind young lady. She listens, I tell her all of the above, she verify too... Yep, the colors are off. I then inform her, "Our trust was put with our sales rep. He was the one whom put the numbers together, the paperwork, and being the professional... we trusted he knew what to do and that he had confirmed our installation and the colors to match." Again, "he was the expert here!"

As our conversation continued, I went on to state that we moved the furniture, we waited to install the last 3 rooms, so we could properly move the furniture back." She said, "So you moved the furniture..." I replied "Yes." I was then told that in our contract we were charged for the furniture being moved... "In fact, both contracts state it!" Okay... so now, I'm getting upset yet again.

I let her know, "My son, my husband, and I moved the furniture!! In the last installment where the carpet is the wrong color... the younger gentleman assisted my husband moving a couch, but other than that... we moved it all... taking the beds down, putting them back up, moving dressers, desk, bookcases, etc." I then advised her we were NOT willing to move our furniture again! It simply was not happening!! So, at the end of our call... she told me this would escalate further up the ladder and she would be calling me back or someone else would. I told her, that would be great and that I would great. I then told her to have a blessed day!

Okay... So today is June 28, 2017. I've spoken with Empire about 3 times... all by me calling and not by them "returning a call to me." I was told someone "tried to reach me." I replied, "I have voicemail and the message I had I returned the call but was told someone would call me back, but even when not available... I could be reached and that they could always send a letter." Well, after several hours of time on the phone... letting ALL the representatives hear how this was not the correct carpet... I was asked why didn't I tell the installer upon arrival. So I let them ALL know, "We trusted our sales rep." We believed that he, being the expert knew the colors, knew what we had and was the one to make sure there were no issues.

I went on to state that as an educator, I am trusted to know and do my job comforting and assuring my constituents that I can do my job effectively and without question. My husband and I believed this to be true also for Mr. Jim. We never felt the need to question if he knew what he was doing, if he had everything correct. "We trusted he knew his job!"

The outcome of this fiasco is we believed after 3 estimates that Empire Today was a reputable company that not only had the best cost for carpeting our home of over 6,000 square feet, but that they would perform quality work, rendering happy homeowners. My husband and I were there until the last 3 carpet installs. "We were extremely happy." After my attempt to resolve and have Empire right their wrong... we were credited with $206.64 for the moving that we did but was charged for. Even after I invited corporate administrators to visit our home to see why I was unhappy, we were advised that the installer showed us the carpet and we agreed to the install. I then advised, even while listening to them "decide" that this was our fault...

Their accusation was incorrect. Though we were met, greeted, and shown the remnant on our first install, it was NOT the case with the remaining installation. Though it might be their practice to do so, it was not discovered until after we were asked to do the walk through that we, rather I, informed the installers the carpet was the wrong color and he then provided me with the number for customer service. I stated, "The installers, who barely spoke English was sent to do a job. They were not our sales rep or the person we've trusted to complete what was started... It began with Mr. Jim."

I then went on to say, "Perhaps Mr. Jim who advised that his iPad crashed, he lost all of the numbers, all of the measurements, AND that meant he more than likely lost the actual color of the carpet. He probably thought or perhaps was assured that since he is a veteran sales rep even knew the correct number of the carpet. But as he too is human, he made a mistake." This was shared... taken into consideration and then the Empire customer service rep, who by the way was very nice... very cordial... and I really worked to project the Christian voice tone, verbiage, and understanding during this entire conversation.

As I begin to cry, I let her know... we spent over $10,000 to get this done. Frieze carpet in 7 rooms, a staircase, and a hallway. Our last 3 rooms of carpet don't match the rest of the house. I've called as instructed. I've invited managers, etc. to visit our home and take a look. I've remained professional and prayed more than she could know. I've held on why the reps spoke with this person and that person and only to be told they (whom ever they are) were told there was NOTHING that could be done, because we were shown the piece of carpet before installation. It mattered not how I said, we weren't shown the carpet. And... perhaps that is our fault. But even with that, the last 3 connecting rooms tie into the hallway and the other rooms upstairs. There is no way I would change the color of carpet for 3 bedrooms when the other 3, the hallway, and the staircase. No way!!

I then shared what they have shown me is that even when people like my husband and I believe that companies like Empire have their customers' best interest at heart and trust them to come into their homes, their investments, to perform work entrusting everyone involved that the hardship and disappointment we've gone through has proven that companies like them are only out to make another dollar. It's sad, it's disheartening, and it is unbelievable that they are okay doing business this way.

I let the rep know, I was going to pray for God to do what He does best. I let her know that I was not happy at what we were told and though not upset with her, I apologize if it seemed I was, but I could not believe that after many calls that have transpired on my behalf that this was the result. She was compassionate and advised me to call back. I advised that I've called and called and I was going to pray again. I feel if they were planning to correct this, after research and the writing on the wall showing the color is incorrect they would have done so by now.

Without a doubt the carpet is really nice. The unhappy ending is that Empire Today refuses to believe that their installer, who was nice, but I'm not sure spoke a lot of English only did what he was instructed. Yes, my husband and I allowed him to do the installation and no we did not question him. Okay... fault us for that. With a $10,000 contract... we felt comfort that the company, a reputable, well known company and their employees knew their stuff. Please don't fault us for being caring individuals who had confidence that your company would provide the services for us that we asked for and you agreed to do.

Though an experience I wish not happen to anyone else. I suppose no matter how much you trust your sales rep, or even the company you do business with you've taught us to ask questions... micromanage... make the people doing the work that should know how to do their jobs uncomfortable!!! But the truth be told, my husband and I believe that there are people out there, companies, sales reps, and yes reputable companies like yours that work to ensure that even with human error... errors that was no fault of the consumer paying half of what was paid (roughly $2,500 more) will NOT be sought to correct an issue that was truly no fault of their own. Praying this occurs to no one else!

It took longer to do the install than anticipated, but that was because they used, at my purchase and request, a different under-layment and there was a given 'learning curve' for the installers. The salesman we worked with was really wonderful and the guys who installed the vinyl flooring in my home were super nice. The quality of the flooring is good. I had carpeting down so having a vinyl floor is a lot easier to clean. The new flooring has pretty much met my expectations but I originally wanted the floating floor and they were unable to do that. There were also a couple of little things, like some of the trim boards, that I wasn't happy about. We talked to the sales guy about it and it's weird how they did it, but everything else was okay.

On May 19th carpet was installed in our baby's nursery, the upstairs hallway and stairs. As a result, the installers chipped the paint off the newly painted baseboards, in at least 20 places. They took off the closet doors and not put them back and they left dirty handprints all over the walls. They leaned all of the heavy doors against the wall in the bathroom and chipped the newly painted wall in there as well! Since then, I have been getting the run around from Empire about getting someone to come fix the baseboards. In fact, we needed furniture and did not get it with hopes that this would have been done. 2 weeks ago a contractor came and installed the doors and said he had no clue about the baseboards, empire never told him! "But don't worry, I'll let them know," he said. But, still nothing happened.

Now our baby is 12 days old and her room is a disaster. Her furniture is getting delivered this week because we cannot wait for Empire anymore, but it is NOT RIGHT. I have been communicating with Deena **. I have sent her pictures via email and text, and she has responded more than once with things like, "Oh wow, I'll get an installation manager to contact you immediately!" and yet, no one does. She is just as unprofessional as the several associates I have spoken with. I have called at least 5-7 times and have yet to receive a call from them. The carpet was installed quickly, they did not do a good job, and clearly the installers did not care. Now we are out $1600 and the room is a mess. They are unprofessional and not only would I never recommend them, but I have already filed a complaint with the BBB.

First scheduled installation they showed up early and installed the bedroom carpet, when they started installing the basement carpet they realized it was damaged. We contacted Empire to see when we could have the rest of the carpet delivered and we were told a week later it would be there first thing Wednesday morning.

Wednesday morning came and no one called so I called to see the status and we were told, after taking a day off from work, we were not getting the carpet. It was then set up for two days later. We called the night before to confirm and we were assured it was coming the next day. Friday comes and no phone call, we called Empire again and again were told the same story of the carpet not being put on the truck. A supervisor called us back on Friday evening and we rescheduled for the following Tuesday, we called the night before to confirm we were getting it. Tuesday morning no phone call, I called Empire again and again. We were told the carpet was not put on the truck.

So I have gone two weeks with half a carpet and nails sticking out of the floor and had to take 3 days off from work and still only have half a carpeted room. Customer service absolutely does not care if you have an issue and it's the same story over and over. Please trust your instinct as I should have after hearing what other people have experienced with this company and use someone other than Empire. For them to schedule the installation 3 times and not show up or call is completely unacceptable and not good for a company wanting to obtain new customer. I would never recommend this company to anyone and would never purchase anything from them again.

Empire has now covered in one way or the other all the floors in my house. This includes tile in kitchen and bathroom, carpet in living room and dining room and hardwood flooring in the halls, office and stairway. In all cases the work was done to my expectation. The most recent experience was with carpet. The saleswoman was congenial and once I told her what I was looking for went right to the sample book and within minutes I saw what I was looking for. The installers were accommodating and professional. My only complaint is I wish I knew within a couple of hours, when the installers would arrive a couple of days before rather than the morning of. Aside from that I wish all my experiences with vendors would go as smoothly.

Tom was always readily available to answer any questions we had after we signed the contract. Excellent install crew; polite, efficient, worked long hours. Vladimir **, the sub-contractor, could teach a class on how to do a job well. We would recommend Empire Today to anyone based on our recent experience.

I just moved here two months ago and a friend of mine up the street had her hardwood floors done by Empire. She referred them to me and I had my whole house rugged. My salesperson was wonderful and I’m happy with the carpet’s cost and quality. They were here on a Monday and for some reason, Empire comes late at night. They got here at eight o’clock and they went to the basement and took the leftover carpet from the house. I asked them to bind a couple of pieces to wipe the feet off when you walk in the door, in my foyer. And also, to bind the piece for the basement steps because they're thin, little, tiny pine steps. So they grabbed the rest of the roll and they'll be back. I really like Empire Today and their customer service is excellent.

We tried calling him several times but he never returned our call. I was not pleased with that.

We had laminate put in the kitchen, dining room, the halls, and the living room. Then, we had tile put in the laundry room. So far, I really love my flooring. We had a little bit of a problem getting them to come out and check what we thought needed to be done under the warranty work. But other than that, we're completely satisfied.

We got a good deal with Empire Today. We checked with another company and the cost was almost 2/3 higher. Because the carpet was of higher quality and the padding was good, we decided to go with Empire. The carpet has multiple colors of brown and as soon as I looked at it, my husband and I both knew that's what we wanted. It hides the dirt a little bit. Everyone who has seen the carpet likes it as well. The installers were very polite and took their shoes off. However, we could not communicate with them very easily. If we had a question, it was hard to get an answer from them. Only one of them spoke broken English and we had to be very careful with how we spoke. The salesperson was also very nice, but because of being forced, I'm not sure I would use them again. Nevertheless, as far as the quality of work and the quality of the carpet, we're very content and happy.

I hired Empire to install carpet, ceramic tile, and hardwood throughout my house. On one of the jobs, I wrote a check for a certain amount and Empire took it upon themselves to increase the amount and overcharged us for an EXTRA $500.00. That was on May 12th of this year. I have been trying ever since to get my money back. They keep telling me different stories every time I call. I have a timeline:

5/21/17--Spoke with Carlos who told me a refund check was issued to us on 5/16/17 and it takes 10-15 business days to receive it. I called back on 5/26 and spoke with a Kim who advised me that it was actually sent out on 5/19. On 8/14-I spoke with Kim again who stated she is not sure what is going on so I asked for a manager. I ended up on hold so long till I had to hang up. On 6/14 I called back to speak with a manager and was transferred to the floor manager named Joe who advised me that the check was reprocessed on 5/3 but the requested refund wasn't put in until 5/19 by a Kelley **, office manager in Norfolk. He said it wasn't mailed out until 5/31/17. He told me again to give it 15 business days and we should have it by 6/21/17.

On 6/21 I called back and spoke with another manager/supervisor named Clarissa, who advised me that it was resubmitted on 5/31. We still do not have our money as of today, 6/24/17. I am going to let my bank know that they were not authorized to overcharge the amount they did. I am also going to go to my local TV station Wavy TV 10 on your side. This is ridiculous!!! Why couldn't they just put it back in my account the same way they took it? IMMEDIATELY!!! Empire Today has given me the impression that they could be thieves. I NEED MY MONEY!!! Stop giving me the runaround!!!

We have been told multiple times that it would be looked at by a manager and have only talked to by the on-site person that admitted he didn't have the needed equipment nor the ability to get the work done. As I sit in my home I have a bathroom where the tile was put in 1/2 low, a bathroom that is half stripped and quarter rounds that look like they were put in by a child. They have broken a number of wall tiles, flooded my basement, and ate/drank food in the refrigerator. I don't know if I need to just start over and hire someone else. I hired Empire on their reputation and have dealt with untrained subcontractors.

After verifying what was going to be installed, I found out it was incorrect. The installer waves a contract in my face that says nothing. The contract I was given said something completely different. Only one installer was sent to do the job. He spoke limited English and was impossible to communicate the problem.

I had to do a three way conversation with the Empire office. They then asked for payment prior to doing the work. I should have known better when the sales guy was scheduled to show between noon and 4 pm and arrived at 4:30. He quoted me a price without looking at the job. I've used Empire Today quite a few times in the past. This time, I was supposed to have linoleum installed. The problem was that when the guy came to install the linoleum, he said I needed to install a subfloor. And because I had tenants coming in, I asked how long it would take to put in a subfloor, and he said he didn't work for Empire and that he doesn't do subfloors, only linoleum.

I had him put the carpeting in instead, and it worked out better for me because I found somebody else to not only put in the subfloor, but also put in linoleum squares, and it came out fine. It also saved me close to $800 compared to having Empire Today do it. That was the only disappointing thing. From the standpoint of doing the job, when the saleslady gave me the quote, she should have indicated that there might be the possibility of needing to put in a subfloor. That whole process was frustrating, but otherwise, I love the carpeting and Empire Today was okay.

Also when I brought up there must be subflooring they acted like they never heard and made it seem like they did not want to do the job. I called the salesman and he assured me that all was right and noted in my quote. They rescheduled for Thursday of that week. I confirmed again the dates with Empire. I waited on Thursday until 9am for them to call me and tell me that the product was not yet in the warehouse. Why would you schedule knowing the product was not available. They are quick to take a deposit but now they are acting like they don't want to help me. I burned vacation and had help clearing the kitchen and dining room. This is a bad experience.

On May 18th my wife and mother-in-law worked with Sales agent to pick out blinds for our apartment. They made an informed decision to go with Empire as you had a great reputation. We were given two weeks for installation. The understanding that the blinds will be installed no later than Thursday June 1st. This was very intentional as my wife and I were about to be in the hospital with our newborn and thought we could depend on Empire to have the blinds up in time when our newborn arrived. It's now Friday, June 9th and I've been informed by Our sales rep that our blinds won't be arriving until Tuesday, June 20th. This is frustrating on multiple levels.

    1. No one at your company reached out to us to inform us about some issue that was taking place. I had to reach out to hear the issue.
    2. We are paying an incredible amount of money for your goods and services that aren't being installed when promised. This impacts my family being able to sleep and the temperature of the apartment and health of our newborn.

    3. We just entered the summer with a newborn that has no blinds in her room that we're promised by your company.

I'm deeply disappointed in the situation we are in. We've already given you a deposit of $725 on 5/18 for your service. We would have had this done in 3 days with 3-day blinds. Update: It's June 22nd and still no blinds.

They came, left cans in my backyard and supplies they didn't pickup. 3rd day of installation the contractor came alone but later called his wife for help. My husband and I with 2 dogs stayed in the bedroom 3 days for them to finish. I saw imperfections and it wasn't corrected. Then I get a bill it was agreed in the contract $71.00 per month, however now it's $116.00. No one at the office has called. I've called several times, but to no avail.

So I'm stuck with messed up floors and higher price. Empire has not reached out to resolve this and I'm thinking of reporting them to the BBB. I told the salesman I and my husband on disability so our budget is important to us, so now we're over our head and it's only been a month. UGGG! Oddly enough when I try to pull up my 16-page contract pages 3 and 4 don't load. I feel scammed. I'd never refer them. My neighbor needs her home carpet. I told her to look for somebody else.

I recently had the carpet replaced in my home by Empire Today. This was the worst experience I have ever had all the way from customer service to installation. My issues began at the very first installation by a team of 3 installers. In particular the installer that did my basement floor. I observed the installer during his process of seaming together two pieces of carpet. He was doing this extremely fast and very sloppy so I questioned him about it because I was concerned about the appearance as well as the quality. He told me it would all work out okay at the end, so I let him continue. Three weeks after the installation was complete the entire seam ripped out of the carpet when my wife was vacuuming.

I called Empire about getting it fixed and they agreed that they would send "Their Inspector" out to look at the damaged carpet and assess the situation. The inspector arrived 4 days later and I explained to him what happened. He then told my wife and I that this was "absolutely an installation issue" and then proceeded to tell us exactly what he was going to do to fix it - "I'll be here tomorrow with another piece of carpet and we will replace the torn piece and do the seam correctly." Great!... Not Exactly.

First he never showed up, never called, and I never received a call from Empire explaining what steps they were going to take next. I called Empire the next day and asked what was going on. The customer service person I spoke to (Melissa) told me that they were still waiting for authorization to repair and that they would call me back the next day with the answer. I never received a call. Two days later I called Empire back asking what was going on and again I got the run-around about having to speak with the inspector and get some authorization to proceed, I was told I would get a call back in 24hrs. Surprise... They never called.

I called again and this time spoke with another C.S. rep - I was not happy at this point having to explain the entire situation to someone else and wait for an answer. She then put me on hold to research my case. After 25 minutes on hold she came back to me and explained that according to "Their Inspector" the carpet was torn due to outside influence and she could provide me with a quote to get it fixed. Now I'm really un-happy! Especially after being told by Empire's inspector that it was in fact an installation issue (I knew all along) and that he would fix it!

After that conversation I went back and forth with Empire for over a week until finally I was put in touch with "Mr. **", the customer service Manager, and only after I had to ask to speak with someone of authority. Finally after multiple heated conversations with him did he agree to have my carpet fixed at no cost to me. At this point I had over 15 days of going back and forth with Empire just to get this issue resolved. To top it all off the only reason we decided to replace carpet in our home was because we were selling and the house was on the market. Just before this issue our home had gone under contract and we were facing home inspection and appraisal. Through all of this trouble with Empire I was constantly reminding them that time was of the essence because our home was essentially sold... They didn't care.

So finally Empire sends out their problem solver, Freddie. This guy was awesome! He showed up and told me that he was going to try to repair the seam using the original carpet...he was afraid that the other piece they gave him would not match. He tried for hours and was very meticulous but in the end unsuccessful. When he took up the original pieces he found even more issues from the original installation that resulted in him not having enough material to do the job right. He took tons of pictures and finally said that the entire floor would need to be re-done with enough material. So he packed up and left. I immediately called Empire. At that point they told me the installers would not be out until the beginning of the next week to complete the repair.

Fast forward a few days... Three different guys showed up to install the carpet that Freddie ordered. They ripped out the original carpet and began to cut pieces and place the carpet into the room only to find out that the new piece of carpet had a huge cut right down the middle and they would not be able to do the job. At this point I'm freaking out! We had an inspection and appraisal scheduled the next day and there was carpet all over the room, up the walls, in the garage... Everything was in disarray. I called Empire again!

Finally the following afternoon (yesterday) Freddie showed up... Thank GOD, with the new roll of carpet. I need to say that Freddie was the best part of the entire experience. He was professional, knowledgeable, meticulous, and respectful. He went above and beyond to make the carpet look great and took his time so that he was sure it was done right. Thanks Freddie!

Overall I'd say this was one of the worst experience I've ever had with a company, their customer service, and their integrity. I for one will NEVER use Empire again, I will deter anyone I know from using Empire and will continue to post negative reviews. If it weren't for Freddie and if I could give Zero stars in the rating I would. Empire should be grateful they have someone as good as Freddie! BEWARE!!

It’s very good and I have no complaints. I like the looks of it. For me, a rug is a rug. I'm very happy with my carpet. But I need to call later and get information on how to wash or just scrub it. Right now, it's not dirty. So, I don't have to worry about it.

The salesman was very nice and cooperative and the guys that came out were very good which made me stay with them. I was surprised how quickly they did it. And I also liked the idea of financing it and paying it off in a year. That helped me a lot. I'm very happy with the experience. I should have done it earlier but I couldn't let my dog go. And before she died in December, she was urinating and having problems before I had to put her down. I decided that she would be my last dog. I figured after she left, I would have the rugs torn up and get new ones. Everything went well and I was very happy with their service and I'm glad I did it.

The installers cut the carpet at the shop prior to bringing it out and cut it too short. I have had repeated issues with it coming out of the tack strip and the last time was advised that if they had to come out, it would probably cost me out of my pocket. The new installer came out and put down a thicker strip to save me from coming out of pocket or them piecing my carpet. The carpet has come loose again and I am just at a loss! I do not have the money to put into this right now! So my only alternative is to seek an attorney and or go to the media. I do not want anything except my carpet fixed properly.

Empire Today installed a carpet for me and they did a great job. The most recent one was in the closet and the porch, not too long before that, it was the bedroom. I've always had business with Empire Today and I go back a long time with them. The first job from Empire Today in 2002 was my porch windows when you used to do windows. Then the Mohawk carpet which was only three grand and I also had them do my kitchen floor. The people at Empire were friendly and they don’t mess around. They came in and did the job. They didn't take a break.

I'll never forget the time they came and worked through the carpeting of my whole basement also in 2002. They worked straight through from the morning until late afternoon doing my basement. The salesman at that time told me that maybe, in 15 years, I might start seeing wear on it and he was right. So I put runners on the carpet and vacuum it once in a while. It's like a brand new stuff. During the installation, the guys knew there was going to be two feet of snow out. It was in the dead of winter at that time, and those guys worked their butts off. I fed them after because I knew what they had to go out into and I felt bad. They must have gotten stuck and there were no cars on the road. That impressed me so much that I knew they had a customer for life.

This house is around 55 to 65 years old. At that time, it was springing leaks. It hasn't sprung any leaks down there now in a couple years. But just after they put the carpet in, I had leaks all over the place but it still hasn’t ruined the carpet. That Mohawk still looks brand new. I didn’t have the expensive stuff put on it and I also did stuff in my bedroom, in my closet, and the porch. It's as good as the one downstairs. Although, there were impressions on the carpet and I'm trying to figure out how to get them off, but they still don’t look too bad. They did an excellent job on the carpeting. On the vent, they even asked me if I'm going to cover the vent or not. I said, “Not.” So, a guy came up and did a perfect job measuring around the vent. He was precise and I appreciate that.

When I got all wood, even though I varnish it up, I could tell that it's 50 years old. Empire had to take some of the moldings and fix it because of the old crafted wood there. I sprayed and covered all the holes up but then the carpet covered over that. When you put carpet over it, there's a difference. It's like night and day with the old and new carpeting. It's spongy and it's nice if you're barefoot. It's also warmer in the winter. It's different than just having a rug with nothing under it.

The carpet adds to the warmth in the bedroom, especially in winter. You don’t have people look at the old wood because it's covered. It's another aspect of it. I had two closets in there and I had a big walk-in closet they did for me. When I look in the closet, it's all covered. They did an excellent job right to the edge. This house was just like in demolition before I got here so I called Empire and they added to the excellence. If I need anything in the future, I won't hesitate to call them and go back with because of the positive experience. I already recommended them and they've had other customers through me.

I finally called the company to be told, "Oh he isn't going, would you like to reschedule?" When I asked why they didn't call to notify me, I was told it was because the installer didn't have any phone numbers let me know he had other plans. He didn't have my number or the number to his corporate office so that they could call me. What a joke! I have already taken my business elsewhere!

Empire lacks quality craftsmen & management all around. They hire an outside company to do their work, whether it be carpet or laminate. Empires sales/management office is poor and rarely returns your calls and if they do they do not address the problem at hand nor does the issue get resolved. We purchased new baseboards and they installed baseboards with unmatching/flush corners. If they didn't have corners to match the baseboards they were selling, they should not have sold us the items in the first place. Don't know if that comes down to a uneducated salesman who did the quote, or the main office who provides the installers with the materials.

From day one we had problems... the installers were late, installed defective laminate, showed up with only half the material needed to complete the job, weren't aware of what needed to be installed, and did a "very poor and lazy" job installing the flooring. It has been a nightmare and the worst experience I have ever had. To top it all off we now have holes up and down our stairs from them installing the laminate which I guess afterwards they told us is common but neglected to inform us of this. We now have to pay someone to come out and fix the holes and repaint.

The only good thing that came out of this experience were the carpet installers and our new soft carpet. The crew they sent to do the carpet was fast, efficient and very professional. I wish I could say the same for the management, front office and laminate/baseboard crew but sadly it was a completely different and unsatisfactory experience. What was suppose to take no more than three days, turned into 6 days and the job is still poor, unmatching, and incomplete. No one at this point appears to care nor get back to us to make this right. We don't mind paying for good flooring and labor if it's stress free and good quality craftsmanship...

I moved into a new home and needed new flooring. I called Empire Today and I regret that decision. The consultant came to my home, I picked out a carpet and scheduled an appointment for installation. The installers never showed nor did they contact me to let me know they were not coming. I called their HQ and complained, the rep there gave me a $50 discount. A second appointment was scheduled and they were late. Eventually the installer showed up...with his small children! Yes, he brought his two small kids with him. He did not speak English which made things more difficult.

They scuffed my walls bringing in the carpet. The kids were in and out of my home and the installer used my bathroom w/o permission! Someone cut their finger and dripped blood on my stairs and in my master bedroom. The carpet was installed crooked and finished crudely. The installer failed to bring a vacuum even though they're required to so he asked to use mine. He left dust and dirt everywhere along with loose staples. He removed my closet doors and rehung them incorrectly, they would not close. When I asked that he redo the last step because it was raggedy, he told me to call HQ and they would send someone out to fix it because he had to leave for another appointment. The entire experience was less than professional and nothing like the advertisement on TV. I would not recommend Empire Today Flooring to anyone.

Ordered new carpet and LVT on a Friday for the upstairs floor of my home (around 1000 sq ft). I was a little overwhelmed when the quote came back at $5000.00 but decided to place the order. They took a deposit of $509.78 immediately. Over the weekend I discussed the price with my father who has been in the construction business his entire life. He told me he thought the price was high and recommended I get a few more quotes for the work. I thought that was a good idea so on Monday morning at 9 am EST, I called the customer service line at Empire Today and requested they cancel my order since their contract clearly states you only have 5 days from the date of transaction to do so if you're under the age of 65. The representative agreed to cancel the order and stated I would receive a call from their Baltimore/Washington area location to finalize the cancellation.

After 4 hours, I hadn't heard anything from them so I called again. This representative stated that he did see in his system that the order was cancelled but could not and would not provide a confirmation email stating so. He did give me a confirmation number for the cancellation which no one else in this process has referenced once. Still, he said I would receive a call from the Baltimore/Washington office on this day. Around 8 pm that evening, I still hadn't heard anything from Empire Today so I decided to call them again. I asked the representative to verify that my order was cancelled. Her response was, "Let me put it this way, it's half way cancelled but it's half way not". I again asked for a verification email of the cancellation and the representative told me I would need to speak with their "safe" team and placed me on hold for 30 minutes. After being on hold for 30 minutes, I hung up and called the number again.

Someone answered immediately. I told them of my experience with the last call and again asked for some sort of confirmation email saying my order was cancelled and I would be receiving a full refund of my deposit. This representative again said he could not provide that but could let me speak to his "cancellation department". The "cancellation department" answered fairly quickly but the man on the other line was immediately unenthusiastic about my reason for calling telling me that I would get my entire deposit back without question. I attempted to explained to him that his contract clearly stated I only had 5 days to cancel the order because I was under the age of 65 and was cut off in mid-sentence by him almost as if he didn't have time to deal with me.

He kept guaranteeing me that I would get my deposit back but would not give me any kind of confirmation email or number or anything, saying he did not have the option to do so. Keep in mind that I got a "confirmation number" from an earlier representative. All in all, the sales rep was very nice and helpful and there was a chance that I would have continued business with Empire Today after getting some more quotes (which I stated to every representative that I spoke with) but after my experience with their customer service department, I most likely will not continue business with them. Some of them were very rude. I am writing this review now to put a timestamp on my cancellation since it seems to be the only avenue I have of proving I cancelled within their discriminatory 5 day period for folks under the age of 65 like myself.

But the salesperson from Empire made two trips to our house and she made making our choices very easy. Then the laminate flooring we bought from them was installed in three bedrooms and a den area in our house. We like the flooring because we don't have to worry about the dogs being on the carpet. And we have a pool so when we come in from the pool we don't have to worry about the carpet getting wet. The overall experience has been great and I would recommend Empire to a friend.

When I was on the phone, I can hear that someone beside the staff I was talking to was offering to give an extra $250 off but nobody could hear me. The head of installation called me and I told him if I might be able to get that also. He said that he'll look that up and call me back. But, the only trouble was once they installed it, he has almost no incentive to call me back. He was supposed to call me back the Monday after it was installed but he never did. We've been delayed moving into our new home because we couldn't schedule an installation any sooner than 6/17. We were told that they would be here to install between 8 am and 6 pm. So needless to say we got very little else done because we had to be here all day. CS assured us they would be here by 1:20, then 3:00. It was 5:30 pm when they finally arrived. They told me because the house was so big they wouldn't finish and would have to return the following day @ 8 am. Again 8:00 in the morning. They got to work ripping out old carpet and measuring. I even fed them dinner running to McDonald's for them before they left. They assured me again that would be here at 8 am. We clarified over and over. 8 am. At 8:30 I called customer service and was told they were still 1 hour and 45 minutes out. Their watches must have been broken. They told me 8 am.

Here's the problem. I have to move in today. Not tomorrow. Today. I was very clear with the sales guy and the installers over and over. I have to bring a truck full of furniture and move it in today. Today, Empire today. I can't do that until your guys finish putting in the carpet. When you tell someone to their face you are going to do something at a particular time, people expect that you will keep your word and do it and they planned accordingly. I can't pick up my truck because someone has to be here. It's father's day. There are limited working hours because of the holiday. Why can't you be a man of your word and do what you agreed to do. 8 am was your choice. You said 8 am you would be here. I want some refund for this. My say is shot. I may have to take tomorrow off to get this done. I hope it's not like yesterday where 1 hour and 45 minutes turns into three hours or five.

We planned replacement of kitchen and bathroom tiles and carpet replacement our four room in our house. Contract was made with EMPIRE through salesperson FRANK **. Frank was very professional. He told us the work will finish in two days. Work was started as plan. Est. completion was 2/21/2017. Unfortunately work is not finished until now 6/17/2017. Carpet was completed in two days, we think work was fair. Nightmare started with ceramic tile work. Work area was not covered properly so the dust and concrete went to adjacent finished wood floor and damage it. Also dust went into ventilation system as vent area was not covered.

Empire employees were not looking very good professional. It was hard to communicate with them because of language barrier. They were not good in work.

Work was done incorrectly, floor is not level, tiles are up and down, spaces between tile varies, grout is missing a lot of areas and look different color. Grout is coming out in different area, household is tripping, there is danger of fall and injury. Door was not replace properly after work, they are hanging and there is space between door. They are not airtight, so drift of cold air coming inside from two outside door. Empire employees were walking on finished wood floor over the cement particles and damage the wood floor. Toilet is moving on floor. Two different color of tile were installed, they were removed multiple time and replaced. Poor quality of work was hallmark.

Frank and two inspector agreed that work is done incorrectly and reimbursement should be done. We call multiple time about more than 50 time to Empire customer service. Frank told us Kim is in-charge. We call her a lot. Two time I was able to talk with her. She committed to solve the issue after inspection. Lately we are still waiting for her response after three month. We are putting all options on table. Honestly we find Frank very honest and reasonable person but I have every reservation about Miss Kim. I strongly feel that me and my family has been disrespected, cheated and abuse. We are still in limbo after three month. Frank is still responding to our text and messages. According to him he is calling customer service and Kim every day. Per him she understand this case need to be resolve.

Multiple time me and my wife have to leave job and come to help them inspection and other things. We have been disrespected, discriminated, abuse and touchier by EMPIRE. We found them unreliable, dishonest, unprofessional and cheater. They have not tried sincerely to solve this issue. I honestly think they need to improve their business practice.

Empire Today's advertising is very misleading. To receive the much-advertised 50% off, you must choose one of only two options for engineered hardwood. To save money and because I was pressed for time, I chose one. The person who estimated the project and measured the premises gave me an estimate that did not tell me the square footage or specifically state that the foyer, hallway, and adjoining closets were included, although he assured me that they were.

No reasonable person would doubt my intent because the hall carpet was in terrible condition and the tiny foyer was clearly part of the living room. No plan was included with the estimate; if it had been, everything would have been clear to everyone. The company did not tell me that I had to pay for the entire job before the installer commenced, and he was irritated and left the site until I was able to call the company to give my credit card information. He was not happy to have to return. The installer then said that the foyer and its closet were not included in the job description and refused to do them until I called the company and paid an extra $120, which I did.

He left at the end of the afternoon without completing the hallway and its closet, saying that they too were not included in the estimate. I called Customer Service many times to get this resolved and to have the installer come back to finish the job, but no one ever returned my call. The job was time sensitive because someone would be on the premises to let the installer in for only a week, and I told that to Customer Service repeatedly. I asked for and was eventually transferred to a supervisor in the Atlanta area. I have not heard back from her and no longer expect to. No person connected with the project seemed to know what anyone else was doing. I've rarely had this bad an experience with any company. They have my money, and I seem to have no redress other than to complain online.

Empire Today was a little bit more expensive than others but we thought it's because of the reputation and bought a carpet from them. However, we had a little disappointment with the experience. We were really careful about picking the colors because we’re selling the house and we already have too many colors going on. We invited our realtor and the designer in to help us with the carpet and then we scheduled the appointment about a month in advance.

On the day of installation, we got people coming over with the carpet and they said that they didn't have the one that we picked so they brought a different carpet. It was not worse but the color scheme was not exactly what we were hoping for. We had no choice because we had other contractors lining up after that. It was not very pleasant and we did not get any compensation for it. So, we paid for the carpet that we didn’t choose. Also, we did not appreciate that we were not contacted before at all and we didn’t review other samples.

We called the salesperson and he said that unfortunately, there's nothing he can do right now and he cannot give us any concession. Then, somebody from customer review called and they had specific questions. I was trying to tell them our experience and they said that it's not the question they were asking. I just told them not to worry about it. I understand stuff happens but it was not that we installed the carpet the next day after talking to the salesperson. But the installation people were great. They stayed late until around 10:00 PM in order to finish in one day and that was good. They did a great job with the stairs and stuff so there was no problem with the quality of labor. The salesperson was wonderful as well.

I had carpet installed on a Monday. The installers left without installing the carpeting on the stairs telling me someone else would return on Tuesday to complete the binding work on the stairs. They also left three rolls of carpet behind in the middle of my living room for the work on the stairs. Four days later, no call. Rolls of carpet are still in my living room. I have called Empire Customer Service every day since Monday requesting a callback and have not received one. Nor has anyone been able to tell me when this job might be complete. I have spent hours on hold and cut off twice.

We've been wanting this kitchen done for several months and I saw an Empire Today ad in the paper but it was misleading. It said it would give a 10% discount so I called them. But the discount didn’t apply because the kitchen was tiled before and it was a lot of work getting the tiles up. I had them install hardwood flooring in the kitchen. And I like the flooring's ability to stay clean and it always looks nice. But the partitions that the installer put on the floor to go into another room were high. It keeps you bumping on it all the time and it's not comfortable. I don’t walk well and it seems like I'm going to trip every time I go through the door. I've called their attention about it but they didn't resolve it. They said they couldn't do anything about it. Other than that, the workmen were very nice and cooperative. The installation of the main floor itself was excellent and I was pretty satisfied with Empire Today.

Empire Today did the carpeting in my house 10 years ago and they were fine so I went with them again. The people that came in to do the recent carpeting were very friendly and kind. However, there were a few things on the carpeting that I'm not happy with. The techs didn’t measure together very well so I'm seeing a lot of pulling away from the carpeting. I was also upset about my salesperson since I should've gotten the 50-50-50 deal but I didn't. I wish somebody would have gotten back to me about it so that the carpeting wouldn’t have cost as much. I had another set of paint people that came in to do the kitchen, the bathroom and the laundry room. They were two young boys and they were good. They couldn’t do the job in one day because one had a terrible cold, so they didn’t seem as professional as they should have been. But all in all, I would recommend Empire again.

Empire Today installed carpet in the upstairs of our home as well as all the bedrooms and the staircase. Empire's cost and quality were comparable to other brands that we considered but they seemed to want to complete the installation quicker. However, when we ordered the flooring, Empire was supposed to call the day before to tell us it's a go. They did and said that the installation was scheduled for Friday.

They called again later and their staff said that she checked their inventory and they might not be able to install it on Friday. That got us upset because we had company coming to town. We had to take all of the furniture out as nothing could be done in the room where they would install. Everything was in our kitchen and we didn't have a place to sleep. Empire called back and said that they thought their truck would be here and they would call again in the morning to tell me. They were a little disorganized on that end but other than that we were satisfied. The gentlemen from Empire who installed the flooring worked very hard and did a really good job. They got it done as quickly as they said they would and before our company arrived. The new flooring has met our expectations.

We decided to use Empire for a fourth time this last weekend. We had great experiences the first two times. The third time, a small carpet installation was pretty bad. The crew was supposed to show up in the morning, I took off work and they never came. When trying to get in touch with someone we were given terrible service and the crew finally showed up at 8:00 that night! That was last year.

Fast forward to this weekend, we gave Empire another chance understanding that everyone makes mistakes and they really had done a great job in prior years. The project this weekend was a small one, about 100 square feet of LVT in two baths and laundry room. The crew ran out of product two days in a row. There is a buckling spongy spot in the middle of the floor, they didn't install the new toiled kits that we paid for, they tried to hide that they missed a corner in the closet, they broke transition strips, didn't rehang doors or baseboards, banged up the walls, and left our house completely trashed. This project which should have been completed in a day is now on day five and not completed. They will have to take yet another of our weekends.

In trying to contact Empire about it I was told someone would call me, never did. I had to hound the local St. Louis office and call up to ten times before someone finally got back to me. Voicemail boxes were full of course. The office seemed to not view my complaints as legit and acted like what is the big deal? When asked what Empire could do for us, I was told, "Well we have to pay another crew now to come fix it, so I don't know." How in the world is that our fault as the consumer? It should have been done right in the first two tries!

I feel as though the company lied to me every step of the way. The work was completely unprofessional and the service and reactions to our complaints have not been heard. We are to have one more project with Empire this upcoming weekend and I am praying it goes well. I highly recommend not using the St. Louis, MO Empire. Their apathy towards customer satisfaction is quite appalling, especially considering that we have spent almost $20,000 with the company. Terrible. DO NOT USE!

Worst experience ever!! They installed my carpet and detached my door to my apartment and refused to put it back on unless I paid them after the carpet installation. They claimed I had to pay for them to shave the door down, which was never experienced before the installation of the carpet. However, that issue was resolved. Let's forward about five months later. My carpet got damaged. I called Empire Today to get someone to look at the damages to see if the carpet can be repaired. The representatives told me yes they would scheduled an appointment to send a worker out to my apartment.

The day of the scheduled appointment, no one shows up. I called Empire again. The representative tells me okay she would rescheduled me for another appointment and that a manager would contact me back. I waited a week. No call back from a manager. It's now two weeks in, I called again expressing my situation to the third representative, then I asked to speak to a manager. The manager expressed that she was sorry for the inconvenience and that the matter would be handle. We are now going into week three. Still no help. No installer came to my apartment. My carpet is still damage.

Empire refuses to let me use my warranty for the damage carpet. I recently called tonight. The representative said someone called me. I told him that never happened. He was like, "Oh they left you a voicemail." I told him I never had a voicemail setup so how could they leave me a voicemail. I would never do business with them ever again. From day one this company was a headache. Their customer service is the worse and they do not attend to their customers’ needs. The owner should be ashamed to have such a poor unethical business structure.

I had contacted Empire Today for laminate flooring that was installed in September of 16. I have called 3 times, and was instructed to have a plumber look at our flooring problem. I have done this. Now my downstairs bathroom (a pedicle sink and toilet are now dripping under the flooring and the beams downstairs and wet. It has been a slow process that is now in a disaster).

Empire today does not have licensed plumbers replace the toilet after floor installation. The toilet was a little crooked when they installed it and I thought that I could live with it. I didn't realize that it would seep slowly under the floor boards. It is now created a very moist situation in my basement. My bathroom floor is now spreading into my hallway. I am very frustrated with this situation and I will contact the BBB and our local news channel for help. This problem daily is getting worse and it will cost Empire more money to fix as this problem is increasing. I need Empire Today to come to my home and install a new bathroom floor.

    Reviewed June 14, 2017

I looked online and at some local flooring spaces, but the wood that they were showing wasn’t quite what I was looking for. I didn't have a lot of time to go around shopping because I have a total care daughter, so it was a lot easier for me to go with the company that I’ve heard of throughout the years. Empire Today's commercial is always on TV and it’s easier to get the number there. I decided to call them and they had the 50-50 sale. So I tried to get a look at a deal I can get. We got the Homestead Grey Flannel Oak which was on the display, although on the packaging, it was Mohawk Frey Flannel. I chose it because the wood wasn't just flat unlike some laminates that are flat. Also, it had some indentions, like carvings into the wood to make it look more wood-like. We had Empire install the flooring in our family room, dining room, kitchen, hallway and my daughter’s bedroom.

I told the sales rep who came by that I wanted to have my daughter's room done first. We would have to move her because she can’t walk and she has a lot of supplies we have to use for her. Also, she gets tired as the day comes running. I’d rather for her to be back in her room and comfortable. And then they could finish the rest of the house. The installation was supposed to be scheduled for 11:00. The installer came earlier and I showed him what rooms were to be done. At that point, we had already moved my daughter out along with all of her equipment.

But the installer said that they can’t do her room first because when they get to the end of the hallway or went into the dining room, the wood might not line up right. I didn’t understand that, but I said OK. I thought it was going to be like an all-day job so I left with my son to go put the kids in the school but I was only eight minutes away and my daughter’s nurse was there. About two hours later, I called the nurse to ask how the floor was coming along. She said they haven’t started yet and that they've only been doing a lot of sanding. On our way back, the installer called and said that they were going to get ready to leave. I asked if the floor was done and he said it wasn't and that they'll come back tomorrow. He also told me that I didn't have to pay them until after they finished the job.

The installers left early and only did the middle section of the room they started in. I thought they would have at least finished that first room that day. From their commercial, you get your floor the next day. But that was such a small amount they did and they left that soon. Also, I stepped on some carpet nails because they had taken up the strip and they never put it back down because they never put the laminate in that little hallway closet. So I was a little unhappy about that.

They asked if I wanted the installers to come back or not. I said I wanted somebody else to come because it seemed to me that the ones who came didn’t do enough for one day and they left the place in a situation where I can stick myself and it was easy to trip. I had recently had my third surgery and I was still recovering, so I’m really scared about tripping coming out of my room. Empire had to work on getting another crew out here so that took about a week. The new crew came out and they did an excellent job. They worked really fast. It seemed like every time I came through, they were almost finished with a room. I was very satisfied with the second crew.

However, they never glued anything, so I got skeptical about my flooring. When it came, I saw Mohawk Grey Flannel, glueless laminate floor on the packaging. I questioned the sales rep if it was the right floor. The rep tried to convince me that it was the floor I ordered. He said Mohawk and Homestead are the same company. We were texting each other and I asked when he could come out to compare and tell me that the wood is not the same as the one I got, and he said it could be a week or so before he could come.

When I started talking to Empire, he wanted to come and bring more samples of wood for me to look at. He said we could get a different type of wood if I wasn’t happy. I was happy with my choice, but I didn't feel like I got what I chose. It’s got a different name and look. Even my family members agreed that the wood was different and was thinner than the other wood that I supposedly bought. The rep kept telling me that was the right wood. The flooring that I have has almost a yellow tone to it. The floor I picked was totally great. It was thicker and a four-click. The one I got fixed looked exactly like the two-click that they took up because my son put two planks together and they fit perfectly. I figured a four-click plank shouldn’t fit perfectly with a two-click. When I explained it to the rep, he said it’s supposed to fit perfectly because other companies mimic them. I didn’t like that answer.

Also, he told me nothing could get through the floor, but when my son was pouring a big tank of Windex into spray bottles, he made a mistake and the bottle fell. We quickly threw towels on the floor and it wasn’t like the Windex even had time to really sink in, but the floor had buckled. Because the floor was not glued, the solution went through so fast that I ended up paying an extra $150 for the installers to come back out and redo that part of the floor. That was very disappointing. I could see the wetness inside of the wood that they had taken off. The rep tried to explain that the floor was water resistant but not chemical resistant. Windex is something people use all throughout their homes to do their mirrors and doors. I don’t understand why Windex can do such damage to a floor in a matter of seconds. I’m unhappy. The floor looks great, but I’m tipping around trying not to spill anything.

If I felt comfortable with the durability, then I would feel more comfortable with going on to my daily duties, but I got to give it up because I don’t want to pay $150 to redo some floor I just spent $6,700 on. I feel like I was cheated out of the flooring because I know what I saw and felt and I know what I got. If I’m paying for something more expensive and I’m getting a 50-50 off, I should get the more expensive floor, not the one that the money balanced it out with. If I’m going to get a $12,000 floor and I’m going to pay $6,000 for this $12,000 floor, I want a $12,000 floor for $6,000 ‘cause it’s 50-50. I don’t want to get messed around and get a $6,000 when I’m paying $6,000. I’m not getting the deal at all. I wouldn’t recommend Empire Today to my friends and family because of the experience I had.

I have asked multiple people who have had previous carpeting installed and no one has ever heard of this. They even insinuated that perhaps my air conditioning has not been on. In January we contacted Empire Today to have tile installed in our living room, dining room and connecting hallways. When the crew arrived, no one spoke English which made it extremely difficult for the crew to understand anything we were trying to convey. The second day they failed to arrive and we didn't get a call from Empire until several hours later telling us the crew's truck broke down. Then the third day they didn't arrive until well after noon and rushed through the job in order to complete it that day which by the way they didn't leave until after 8:30 pm. Because it was dark outside we didn't see the damage they had done to our lawn with cement.

The next day we contacted Empire and also sent them numerous pictures of tile, grout and damage issues to our lawn and driveway. A second crew, this time who could speak English fixed the grout issues we had. Unfortunately we still have uneven tile here and there and because furniture has been put back would be a problem trying to fix. The next we had tile installed in our lanai which was done beautifully by the second crew. Now I am having grout coming out from the outside doorway and the tile in my lanai. I tried contacting Empire by email and phone but no luck. I need to have this grout fixed right away.

I had used Empire several years ago for carpeting. I told them about the chemical sensitivity so they brought a special kind of padding. They were prompt and did a good job. I was very happy with the services and the carpet was of good quality. I went with Empire again to get carpet installed in my two bedrooms, a hallway and stairs. I had a 5:00 appointment and the salesman got to my house. I was going to look at both the carpet and hardwood. First, we looked at the hardwood but I didn’t get to choose any of the hardwoods. It took him a very long time to just get the measurements. He kept messing up and his computer kept messing up as well. So the hardwood took two hours.

So now it's 7:00 at night and I'm tired. I asked him about the carpet and told him I was looking for silvery gray. He pointed out a product to me and said that it's a very good carpet. I’ve talked about the chemicals and he showed me it was green. I asked for the price and he said that he's the only salesman who would be able to give me a price that's the same as the 20-year old carpet. I asked for the price again and he said $3,200, but he stuttered on the two. I had $3,000 in my mind but I'd go $200 for the better quality although it was really high-priced.

Now, it's 8:00 at night, he took my credit card and he said he'd put 10% on my credit card. I signed different things and policies but there's nothing about any dollar value on it on his computer. He said that that would come to my email. Then he ran through the computer stuff at the end explaining what I was signing. But I didn't check my email. He seemed trustworthy and I knew what we agreed on. But when the installers got here, the cost wound up to be $3,900. I was not very happy about that. I knew exactly what number he said and there's a big difference between a two and a nine. At $3,900, I could have taken hardwood into all those areas which was really what I wanted to do anyway. The 10% charge was $390 which I didn't see because it was in the email. I felt like he sized me up as a single woman, still uses her flip phone, and probably not very tech savvy and not really going to look at the email. I got ripped off and I will not use Empire again.

But the installers were very nice, polite and respectful. They cleaned up and did a good job. It's a good carpet but there was a terrible smell that is coming out of it that’s making me sick. The salesman showed me that it was green but I'm not sure if the padding is. I've had headaches so I had to open the windows.

Also, I had tried to get the same salesman to come back and we'd look at the flooring. The salesman had an appointment with me directly, not through the company, but he never showed up. I called Empire about it and I was told that the salesman was not allowed to do that. So, they had him call me instead. We discussed the issue of the pricing of the carpet. I said there was one product that I had a little interest in and I wanted to take a look at that. He said to call through the company, which I did.

Then they sent out a different salesman and he's the general area district manager. He asked me what was the problem with the other salesman. He told me that the salesman has had a couple of other complaints and I explained my experience to him briefly. I also talked to a woman on the phone and explained to her the situation. She said she was going to write up a complaint but nobody from that company has ever called me to ask me what the problem was and how it could be fixed. That really didn't sit well with me.

I like a plush carpet and that’s what I purchased from Empire and I'm satisfied with it. The representative was awesome and gracious and had a personality to go along with my sense of humor, so we got along good through the process of choosing and taking my time going through his portfolio of carpets that he brought to me. The process wasn’t difficult because I already knew what I was looking for.

The installation team composed of young men came in and didn’t goof around when they came to lay the carpet. They got straight to work in both residences. They installed a wall to wall carpet all throughout the home plus in the kitchen and bathroom and I was pleased with the outcome. And I have plenty of carpet left over. Then in a few weeks, I will be calling back Empire to make an appointment for the drapes because I needed a window treatment as part of my home renovation. It was the first time we bought from Empire Today in 40 years. We had dealt with them in a house that we had before. We figured the price was good. The salesman was nice and everything went okay, so we went with them. The girl on the phone was great to set up the meeting. We had the rugs and padding installed in the master bedroom and the spare bedroom. The rug was what we were looking for. It was more comfortable than some rugs and we like the style. It wasn’t the cheapest, but it wasn’t the most expensive either. It was in the middle. The installers were great. They showed up on time, didn’t make a mess, took away the old rug and moved the furniture that had to be moved. It was an easy experience and everything went great for us. I would recommend them again. If we had to use them again, we would.

I’ve had both carpeting and luxury vinyl tile from Empire Today installed in rental properties. The original carpet came in under the other estimate we had and the cost and quality of the carpet are comparable to other brands I've considered. The carpet has a good feel when you walk across it and it has met my expectations. We worked with them on luxury vinyl tiles because we had an established relationship with them. However, we’re having issues with the work they did on the luxury vinyl tile flooring.

They completed the flooring but did not do a quality job. They were hurrying at the end. The grout is incomplete on some of the flooring and several of the tiles are up. I’ve moved over to the complaint department and I’m working with them on it. Overall, Empire Today has a good product. We’ve done three carpet installations and I’ve been very happy with both the product and the installers. And we’ve done one luxury vinyl tile installation and I will never use them for that again. It’s been a nightmare from start to finish, and we’re not finished yet.

I got new carpet installed by Empire Today at my dining room, living room, up the stairway and a hallway and they did a good job. I've been looking for carpeting for a year and couldn't find anything I liked. But Empire had what I was looking for which was different colors of like brown tweed. It had a little to the orange tone too. Empire used to make the scalloped carpet which I really loved and I can't find it anywhere anymore. The carpet I got was not even close to the scalloped carpet but I like my purchase a lot. I'm glad that I called Empire and I'd recommend them.

I had carpets installed last month in our family room by Empire Today. Our room is 18 x 22 ft and we were buying almost 500 sq ft of carpets in order to cover a 340 sq ft room. It was my understanding that it should've probably been a 6 x 22 ft piece of carpet left over. The salesman didn't have those figures with him and he was going to pull up on his computer when he got home and call me back which hasn't happened. They never answered my questions about the amount of carpet I bought. Also, I couldn't find the color or anything listed on the website that corresponds as far as what was installed such as details about the carpet, so I'm in the dark. But so far, the carpet seems to have been installed nicely, it's looking good and it's holding up well.

My daughter had called Empire before and she had them install carpeting at her place. She also had them come over and install carpeting at my place. The carpet that was installed here is silver and I love the color. However, I had trouble with the installation team. First the tech told me he was coming and he did at 11:00, but he called me at 5:00 that evening saying that he was going home because he didn't feel good. The next day they said they'd arrive at 11:00, but they didn't. I had to stay and wait for them, so I missed my class.

When the tech came, he told me that the service would cost me almost $4,000, but they told me previously it would only cost me $2,000. When I told him I'll put it on my Nordstrom's account, he said it was gonna cost me $4,800. I was not pleased with the way that they tried to charge me so much more. Also, I was upset that he would not let me sign the receive notice where you put your name because if I signed it, he was to give me a receipt. Overall I love my carpet and they did a very good job putting it down, but I was very disappointed with the way they acted.

I went with them for carpeting for the living room and part of the hallways and the sales representative who came to the house was very nice, helpful and didn't try to push us to buy something we didn't want. I purchased from them the carpet that has a color called Exquisite. The carpet is squishy and comfortable and we got the sticker padding too. The installation team was very nice as well and they didn't take long to do the work.

I had a sales rep in my home on 05/06/2017 and chose a floor to be installed. The sales rep called a installer while he was in my home to confirm that they could do a plywood subfloor since my home is almost 100 years old and still has the original hardwood in it that has become soft in several places. I was assured that Empire could do this at a extra charge which I agreed to. A week prior to installation I called Empire and spoke to Joanna and she assured me the plywood subfloor would be installed and the installation was scheduled for 06/10/2017. Empire called me on 06/05/2017 and confirmed my appointment and again was told the plywood subfloor would be installed and the new flooring on top of that. The installer arrived at my home about 8 am today and stated he was confused about the plywood. I told him he was suppose to lay a plywood subfloor and he said he would have to call someone.

He made the call and stated they would call him back. Instead of calling the installer Jeremy called me back and stated they didn't do subfloor work. I told him I had 3 different people to tell me they could and would, he stated he was sorry I was misinformed. I was LIED to. I also gave them a large down payment and when I called to cancel the job I asked that this money be refunded to me immediately. I was told it would be 10-15 days before I had my money back. They forced me to pay them when I scheduled this but now they are keeping my money for as long as they want. I would NOT do business with this company EVER!!! They are untruthful, unreliable and very deceptive. So my suggestion to anyone considering using Empire Flooring is to RUN FOREST RUN!!! Empire should be put out of business!!!

I've been doing construction and reconstruction as a project manager for 15 years. I have a rental property that I was refurbishing so I called Empire Today to come and do both the carpet and padding in the bedroom. The salesperson was really thorough and he said the payment was going to be due at the time of completion but that's now how it went. Empire wanted 100% of the payment before starting the job. I was told that it's on my contract and I replied that I signed about 18 pages on an iPad in two seconds but I could get past that. They need to be much clearer about those stipulations before they do the job. In my experience, I have never paid for a job 100% in full before something is installed ever. That needs to be in big blinking light on the top of their contract.

They did the job but there was one room we couldn't do since all the work equipment was in that room. So I called back two months later and told them I needed the same sales rep to come out because I need to order the exact same carpet to make sure that it gets installed in the room. They sent the same salesperson out and I have to manually sign everything since the iPad wasn't working. The original installers came, pulled up the carpet and I told them that it's not the right carpet. They told me that they're there to do the installation and I have to do a claim. It was very similar to what the sales guy had told me that Empire stands behind their product 100%, that no matter what the problem is, they'll fix it.

While they're installing it, I called and filed a claim. I said that the installers were in the house and I gave them my credit card but they had the wrong carpet. I made sure that I got the same sales guy out here to pull my previous order to ensure I get the same carpet but it wasn't. That was on the 17th of March. The guy said that I have to sign to say that he has completed his job. I had already filed the claim so I signed saying the job was completed.

I kept calling in every two days until two days ago but no one will ever call me back on this claim. So, I had to escalate to managers. They told me I signed the paper and said everything was okay and they're not replacing the carpet. “Too bad" is what they told me. Every time I would even open my mouth, they would say, "It was in the contract you signed." Then they said to take them to court. Also, when I called to get the second piece of carpet, the manager on the line told me that I signed off on the colored carpet. I told him that the sales guy didn't bring samples, that's why I had the same guy. I trusted the salesperson who apparently ordered the wrong stuff. Then the manager said, “You signed the paper.” I almost went through the roof. It was a $550 mistake that a lot of people can't afford.

I will never ever refer them and never ever use them again. Now, I'm going to have to replace the carpet because it's not the same as the rest of the house. It was a standard construction-grade carpet that I would not put in my own house. I've lost the month on putting the house on the market waiting for them to respond to my claim. My experience has been terrible.

Flooring Clarion Global View Ash: Nonstop problems from the start. Our salesman was great however we were misquoted the price by thousands of dollars which Empire tried VERY hard to make us pay for. Supposedly there were fees unaccounted for. Seemed like every day the installers had me on the phone renegotiating the price. This also extended the installation from 2-3 days to 5 days. There was also a landing to be done that was never done. The flooring is NOT water resistant as it claimed to be and because of the glare the floor NEVER looks clean. The floor started to bubble within a few weeks of installation even in areas with no water or moisture. We have had the warranty company out twice and the floor was deemed faulty. Great right? Wrong!

Now to get an upgraded floor, Empire wants to charge us the same price we paid for our original floor. We initially looked into the "upgraded" floor and was NOT $7,500 MORE than the floor we pick out. We feel it would be fair to pay the difference between the old floor materials (only) and the new floor materials (only). Hey Empire, I looked and the price of your so called upgrade is only $1.99 per square foot. So I was way overcharged for the faulty flooring in the first place. I keep being told that the 5882300 is their corporate office number which gets you nowhere. I've encountered plenty of rude people but never from a corporate office. Good luck in your dealings with Empire.

My experience was horrible. The installer showed up 5 hours late the first day. With it being a kitchen and 2 bathroom installs, there should have been 2 installers. They only sent one because Empire didn't have the paperwork right. The 1 installer spent the entire day trying to tear up the kitchen floor then realized after 4 hours of tearing up the floor that the floor was too difficult to get up, then realized the plywood was the wrong size that was given to him, by then the warehouse was closed. His help arrived around 6 pm, started on the main bathroom, then kept pulling the tile up. When they laid it down and pulled it up twice then put it back down it looked like crap! So the following day it was pulled up and reinstalled again.

The manager was called to my home and he explained that they cannot leave a job unfinished, but then said since the wrong size plywood was given, they couldn't complete the kitchen that was all pulled up and that I needed to reschedule. I rescheduled to 8 am the following morning and no installer showed. By 10:30 am no one showed so I called and was told I had been rescheduled to the next day, without my knowledge. I spoke to management and they sent someone out right away and of course it was the same one guy.

He spent from 11 am to 10 pm on my kitchen then completed laying the tile in my bathroom and around 10 help showed to do the grout and trim. They didn't leave my home until midnight. To make matters worse, they still never even touched the 2nd bathroom so I just told them to cancel it off the order and I would find someone else to complete the job.

Management contacted me several days later and said they would contact me in a few days to come up with a resolution and 2 weeks has gone by and still haven't heard from them. I called today and no one seems to know what I'm talking about and claim they will have management contact me. I even reached out to the sales manager a week ago to check the status (he had been very helpful throughout the entire process although now he hasn't returned my call). In all, their service is horrible, their installers are horrible, everything with my order was miscommunicated, and management does not respond. I would never, ever use Empire again or recommend them to anyone.

On June 2, 2017 Empire came out to install Laminate in my family room and Breakfast area. When they arrived I mentioned to the worker that I had noticed a leak around the window seal and told them that I just wanted to let them know just in case it would present a problem. They started moving furniture and just putting it all over. I mentioned to the worker that the salesman told me that they would move the furniture in stages, which did not happen.

Then they begin ripping up the carpet. After ripping up most of the carpet the worker told me that he needed to do a moisture test. The moisture test detected moisture in 2 very small areas by the window where I told him that I had noticed the leak by the window seal. The floor was not wet but the equipment used detected moisture. So he told me that they would not be able to lay the laminate that day because we would have to let the area breathe. I was okay with that because he said that if they put the flooring down and there was moisture the laminate would buckle up and would need to be replaced. I definitely did not want that to happen. He said they would come back on Monday morning to complete the job.

It rained super hard all day Saturday and Sunday so I decided to call Empire to let them know about the rain and about the leak. I had questions of what would happen now because I had already paid them $3000.00 and they had ripped most of my carpet up. The customer service person that I spoke to could not answer any questions for me. I asked to speak to a supervisor. He said he could only give me a file number and have a supervisor call me back within 24 hrs. The file # he gave me: **. That was Sunday, I waited until Tuesday to call back giving them the opportunity to call me within the window that I was given but no one called. Again I was told that I could not speak with a supervisor and was giving another File # **. Again no call back.

After another 24 hrs I called back and explained what happened again and asked for Empire Corporate number. The attendant told me that she could not give me the corporate customer service number. She stated that all she could do was give me another file # even though I told her that I already had 2. 3rd file # **. I Googled the # for Empire Corporate office but was unable to get through. I have tried to be patient with them but will not sit still and allow them to treat me in this manner. I am 58 years old and have never in my life experienced service this horrible. Empire should be ashamed of themselves. They have $3,000.00 of my money, did not do any work in my house except to rip up my carpet and leave my house in disarray. And not have the decency to talk to me about the situation.

I will not stop until someone talk to me and give my money back, no one have returned any of my phone calls. Today is Thursday June 8 and the service was scheduled to be done on Friday June 2. My money have already been deducted from my account and no service has been done and they still have all their materials. What kind of people does this??? IT IS NOT OVER BY A LONG SHOT!

The installer says, "We have enough for the kitchen and dining area but not enough for the laundry closet... but we can come back and finish at another time." My fiance agrees and the kitchen/dining area were completed but not the laundry closet. Installers said, "We will submit a ticket and notify you within 24-72 hours to schedule a date to come back."

After 5 days I called customer service and was told, "We will notify you within 3 days." I went straight to Empire Today figuring they were the Cadillac of flooring. They installed laminate flooring in my home. I called them for repairs and everybody came out and they were pleasant. The only problem I'm having and I've already had to place one service call to them was the seams on the steps. The flooring was constantly coming apart. I had them to come once before to do a service request and I need to put in another one because it's becoming creased again. As the flooring gets ready to curve over into the next step, it leaves an opening like it separates from the actual lip of the step to the actual flat flooring. It keeps on creasing where one can see the actual tan of the wood showing that it had separated. Empire Today sent the gentleman to come and fix it. But over a period of time, I look down as I'm going down and I can see the creases open.

My overall experience is good but it could be better. I went to them hoping that I'd have no problem but I still have this reoccurring problem. Also, they are the Cadillac of the flooring industry but they do the subcontracting to different people. Some of the contractors are not meeting the standard because the person that installed the stairs was upset when I asked him to come back. That would misrepresent Empire being the Cadillac of the flooring industry if their contractors are subpar. But the second guy who came and installed was friendly. He even came back when I called him with no problem.

The first salesman to come out was so rude I asked for him to leave and his manager sent me out a new salesman that was very professional and very helpful. I was very pleased with him. The installers came today and put down the padding and the tack strips. With this completed they laid the carpet and saw that it was 2 feet short. Now I have to wait another week to get the carpet laid. I have furniture from that room in other rooms and we have to not walk on tacks and keep the dog off tacks for another week. And for the inconvenience I get a whole $50 which will not fix me blowing a vacation day next week to get the carpet laid. Empire this is my first time using your company. I am not a satisfied customer at all!!! The rating for customer service is based on the second man.

On January 17, 2017 three were installed with Ocean Villa Brazilian Cherry Hardwood Floor. After one month of installation the floors began to crack and lift in the center of the floor. After numerous complaints the company decided to send two inspectors. One worked with the company and the other one is outside inspector. I went to the office of State Senator Ruben Diaz and informed them of my problem with the company. After several phone calls and finally speaking to a supervisor. I was informed that the problem was not the material but a problem with the humidity. Floors were installed in the middle of winter and no one is living in the apartment at the time. All repairs are being done before anyone can move in. During the winter season the boiler is on to keep the apartment warm.

The company never called or sent a letter explaining the results of the inspection. The cost of flooring and installation is $6900 dollars and there is a one year warranty. Instead of treating me like their customer I am being treated like a pest. I am a disabled amputee with a prosthetic leg. The floor must be flat and leveled otherwise I will fall. I have not been able to move into the apartment because of this. After speaking to a supervisor I really do not feel that I am being treated fairly.

The sales rep with Empire was very good, he went through a lot of books before he found what we actually wanted, but that being said the sample that he had in the book was much shinier than the actual floor when installed. I was a little disappointed that it wasn't shinier. The installers were very nice but we had just had our kitchen repainted and they hit the walls in several places and the paint popped off. They told us about it but after they left we had to go around and repaint the spots they ran into.

I bought carpeting from Empire Today for the living room, dining room and the hall. I went with them because they said they could install the following day. I had a date that I had set aside for Empire Today to come out. They called and said that the carpet was not available so it had to be rescheduled on a day that my husband has a procedure and that's not a good experience. On the day of installation, when they asked for payment, I called first and explained to them that the carpet's color was almost like what's in the closet already, so we didn't want it in the closet. But they did install it in the closet. The sales person said that I would be reimbursed for the carpet for the closet. But I haven't heard anything from them. But I do like the padding and the guys who came to install were very nice and fast. They asked if there was anything they could do before they left. Overall, they did okay.

I considered other companies, but when the Empire salesman showed up, he was very thorough and I was impressed with him. I was looking for a long-wearing flooring and had the industrial carpeting installed in the basement of our home. It looks good. In fact, the installation crew was so good I’ve asked for them again and we’ve ordered more carpeting, which is coming on July 23rd.

When the installers came, their first procedure was to get my payment. But the separate subsidiary company Empire hired to verify checks told the young fella that my check was not good. They asked me and my husband for our driver’s licenses and said they were invalid. They are very ignorant. I took out a bank account specifically for the remodeling of our downstairs and Empire was not the only one I paid. I went to my bank and they were surprised because this was a home equity line and all my other checks went through. Also, there was nothing wrong with my driver’s license or my husband’s, which was renewed in April. They made the young fellas stand for over an hour and that really angered me because they don’t get paid unless they’re working. That company delayed the whole process.

I couldn’t believe what we went through. It finally dawned on me to use my credit card, which I did, but that alone is going to turn people off. I’m 72 years old and I’ve never had someone tell me that my check was not good or that my driver’s license was invalid. If it wasn’t for Empire's crew, I would have told them to keep the carpet. That’s how disgusted I was with how long we were on the phone with that company. Making me stand on the telephone for over an hour and undergoing that embarrassment was totally unacceptable. When we rebought, I told the salesman to tell his superiors about that company because they’re gonna lose their business. But I know Empire had nothing to do with that but they should get rid of that company. Empire was very professional and we’ve had a very good experience.

We availed of their 50/50/50 special where some of the price were off on the carpet, some on the installation, and some on whatever it was. Their worker who came out and measured was good. I was also pleased with the two Mexican men who put my carpet in. I could hardly understand both of them but they were super nice. So far, the carpet seems really good and it never looks dirty. I knew that the carpet that I had back then was clean because my husband was cleaning it often with a heavy carpet cleaner. And then, the next day or two, the stain was still there. I have little grandchildren playing around and I want to be sure they're on clean carpet even if it looks stained. Nevertheless, we were very satisfied with our experience with Empire Today.

I love the rug they put it and I like that the new carpeting is so nice and soft. It's nice walking on it with bare feet. Also, the installers always did a nice job and were always friendly and kind. And I don’t have to worry about them coming in with dirty shoes unlike with people I've worked before who don’t care how they do their job. I can always trust Empire and their work is always done nicely and taken cared of properly. It's a very good experience with them and I’d recommend them to a friend.

My compliments to CORPORATE customer service who were professional and direct in ensuring customer satisfaction....it is because of the way my issue was handled, I will continue to recommend their product.

Vendor scheduled installers to come 5/3. Upon installers arrival they indicated that they could not do the job because they "didn't have enough carpet due to wrong measurements." I communicated the installers' observation to the vendor who adamantly defended his measurements. Installers could not locate manager after many phone attempts. Installers stated they would come back Monday. So far they have NOT arrived. Empire has destroyed my weekend and had to use an annual leave day where both represent a financial loss. Compensation/restitution would be in order. Depending upon outcome, I will determine if I would recommended Empire since it was recommended to me.

We had engineered vinyl tile installed in the kitchen. Compared to other brands, Empire Today was right on par. They had some pretty big discounts going on at the time. The price point was comparable but even then, it was probably my cheapest option for install. My favorite part was that I didn't have to put it in. Plus, they volunteered to put the trim in if I bought it and that was a big selling point for me.

They only messed up on the transition piece that goes from my dining room to my kitchen. I asked for a stainless steel transition and they put a gold one in. It is very different but it's not something that's hard to fix and it's really not a big deal. I'm perfectly happy. I like it's durability and the ease of install. It didn't have to involve tearing up the old flooring. All in all, the experience was great, professional and fast.

I was told by phone, text, and email by my salesman that I had an appointment between 9 and 9:30 this morning. At 10 am, we called to see if the installer had an e.t.a. I was informed that I had an appointment between 2 and 4. When the installation coordinator double checked my paperwork, he confirmed that I had the 9 am appointment... but there was nothing he could do. I would have to wait until the 2-4 window. My brother, who was waiting outside the building to give access to the installer, was an hour late getting to work because of this. No call from Empire. Nothing.

Now, my 75 year old mother goes to wait for the installer, to let him into the building. (I won't bore you with why I wasn't there, waiting for the installer. I have a 2 year old daughter and all that comes with that. The appointment time change made it impossible.) It gets to be around 3:45 or so, and I start calling Empire. No answer at any number. I leave messages, of course.

Finally, a little after 4 pm (too late to start a job in a residential building), I get a call from a clueless call center guy that the installer will not be there at all. No more explanation than that. This guy can only relay a message. Not talk remedy for the colossal waste of time. This is the first email of its kind I can ever remember writing. I am not much of a complainer, and I recognize that people have a job to do. Sometimes, stuff happens. But the utter disregard for the customer's time or feelings in this particular case motivated me to write something. A warning, really. Do business with Empire Today Carpet at your own risk. Bring a book to read. Call frequently to get updates. Or better yet, take your money to someone that cares about your business, and will treat you accordingly...

The vinyl was installed a day late and improperly installed. The hall was not leveled correctly and now there is numerous bubbles. Also was promised a return in a week to complete the transitions, which never happened. For the next 2 months we contacted Empire in Baton Rouge on a weekly basis and was promised install dates for repairs and carpet in bedroom. They always had excuses and promised it would be completed the following day. It then got to the point that they never called again, so we demanded our deposit back as the contract had been void and null.

Then they tried to pay us 3200 dollars and we had to argue with them that we only put 500 dollars down. We are on the outskirts of New Orleans and we will never recommend this company. They originally applied the 500 dollars to the improperly installed vinyl and was not giving us anything. So now we have cheap looking flooring and need to start over by pulling up everything that has been done, move breakables and furniture. Which we did each time they promised to install and repair.
