The carpet and tiles from Empire Today that were installed in my rental properties are a little bit more expensive compared to other brands but Empire Today is a more convenient choice. But I would most likely not use them again. I manage 50 properties and I could be doing a lot of business with them. But for some odd reason they are not structured for property management type of accounts. I have suggested having my own representative for all the work that I do and the ability to get bills and invoice but they said no. I am very dissatisfied and I will not recommend them. GIVE ME ONE REP AND BILLING CAPABILITY.
We regret to hear this, and we'll be further investigating your concerns.
Thank you.

I had Empire Today install carpet in my living room and dining room. I've used Empire years ago, and I liked the product. Plus the first installation lasted for about 15 years with children and dogs. It's comfortable and I like the style of the carpet. It's expensive, but it's worth it and has met my expectations. However, this time, it took me two months to get my carpet installed, which is much too long. This is a special order though and was never in stock.

Empire's installation price was cheaper than the other brands I checked. I had Connect the Dots carpet installed in three bedrooms in my home. It's off-white and I like that it's stain resistant because we have pets and kids. We're really happy with it. Our experience with Empire was convenient and great. There is someone in our neighborhood who asked about our carpet, and we recommended them and gave them the card of the installers.

We knew somebody who was an Empire Today salesperson and we trusted her a whole lot. She helped us get the basement in our other house done so when we moved here last year, we gave her a call to see what we could do. My wife also liked Empire's carpet and I liked the price so we decided to hire them for the job. That lady was really good as far as helping us and she cut the price down a bit. I would use her again. We had a carpet installed in the family room and my wife likes the material and the color.

Empire Today has a good price and decent products. My friend referred me to them, and they installed laminate flooring in our living room and dining room. The installers were somewhat unprofessional as they were arguing back and forth, but they did a decent job.

Empire Today installed carpet in the hallway and in the living room. I dealt with them before and I liked their merchandise. They were also very friendly. A gentleman came out, put the carpet down by himself, and did an awesome job. It's a nice brand of carpet and it’s fussy. I love it. I would recommend Empire to anyone. They're good and they stand by their word. Everything was wonderful.

I am in the process of getting wood plank tile floors installed for the past two weeks. The tile guy shows when he wants to show. He also dumped grout on my neighbor's property. I still have all of my furniture over to one side of my house and they can't tell me when they will have someone available to complete this job. This company is the worst! I am in the middle of chemo treatments and I was told this would take three days to complete. I am getting nowhere in getting this project done.
We understand that you had an installation scheduled on 9/26/17. We'll be following up with you soon to discuss your experience.

I was very happy with Empire Today. I had them install a carpet throughout our rental home. Before going with Empire, I was considering other companies to buy the carpet from. But because Empire could get the job done quicker, I decided to choose them. Both the installers were great and I appreciate the good experience. The flooring’s quality was good as well. It met my expectations. I’d recommend Empire to a friend.

When the people came to put my flooring they were nice and they asked how was the work done. I just had relief two days after I got it but I didn't walk on it because I have a big extension in the back and I was at the back most of the time. But when I started to walk inside I asked myself, “What did I do?" After the upgrade the flooring makes a cracking noise when people walk on it and it's aggravating. It's just a little piece of wood like my fingernail that's in the hardwood, that they said is a hardwood and that's not what I bargained for because my $3,100 is not for that upgrade.
They need to give me back my money or do something about that because if I pay for something I expect to get something. I paid for Quiet Walk with an upgrade and I did not get any upgrade -- I got worst-grade. When they came into my house to see what I got they heard that noise and I saw them take a video of it too but they just walked on my house right back. They said I'm such a fool and that's an insult to me. My husband passed away August and I'm missing him as I have to be the man and the woman in the house. This year I tried to do my best and my best is not good enough because Empire screwed me up. I wouldn't recommend Empire to anybody because of the job they have done. I'm very disappointed.

I checked out a couple of places but I had a good relationship with the salesman at Empire Today. He's a good guy. He's very understanding and answered my questions. He was knowledgeable about the product. I had a different estimate with Empire at first because I was doing more of my house. But I changed my plans and I just went with the new quote that I got from them. It was a good price for what got done in my living room and upstairs. I love the carpet. When I bought the house, there was already carpet in here. I didn't feel too comfortable with it because it wasn't mine. And this is mine, so I get to lie on it. It's good and soft. It was a fantastic experience with Empire Today. My mom had gotten some carpet from them before, too.

We have been looking for over a year at different companies and types of flooring to install in our home. We decided on vinyl tile because family had some installed in their home. We decided on Empire because the saleslady was very friendly. That is where the good ends. We were supposed to have a copy of the information we signed on a tablet, emailed to us never received it.
We set up installation for a Tuesday and was told it would take maybe 2 days. Tuesday the installation crew showed up at 11 am, it was raining I get that, they left at 1 because 1 of them had a broken bone in his foot and had to go to the doctor. I am not sure why the other 2 had to leave. Wednesday they showed up after 10 left before 5. Thursday it was 11 and left at 5. Friday it was 2 left at 6 saying they would be back on Saturday to finish up around 2. They didn't show up. They didn't call.
My husband finally got in touch with them around 5. They said they wouldn't be able to come until Monday because they weren't finished with the other job they had scheduled yet. Monday didn't work, I had a doctor's appointment that I had to reschedule from last week, so then it was pushed to Tuesday. On Tuesday I have a hair appointment that I will now have to reschedule for the 2nd time because these people can't get their act together.
Also we were charged for quarter round that wasn't used but I can't prove without the statement that wasn't sent to us and the threshold pieces that were used was leftover pieces from another job. There is no way I would recommend this company to anyone, not even someone I don't like, because I don't dislike ANYONE enough to put them through the hell we have been through.
We regret the delay in your installation, and assure you that this is now how we want our installations to go. We'll be in contact with you soon to learn more.

Empire Today was a little bit cheaper compared to others. Also, the other company I was talking to wouldn't be able to install the flooring in the living room and kitchen for about three, four weeks. The installers from Empire Today installed the flooring really fast and easy and finished it within a few days. I like that it's easy to clean up when the animals have accidents. It's a lot easier than trying to get accidents off of a rug. After I get everything fixed up, I simply take a floor cleaner that's got anti-bacteria and scrub the floor. I feel that it's not contaminated anymore. On the other hand, I couldn't find exactly what I wanted so I settled for a color that was a little darker. I had a good experience with them.
We're happy to hear that your experience was a good one. Thank you for sharing!

I have an upgraded stain-free carpet installed less than eight months in my house. I even paid for an expensive warranty for this carpet. In my hallway, stains appeared and just wiped it with hot water as instructed by their salesman. The stain was still there. I reported it to their customer service and sent an inspector who was also the one who installed the carpet. He took pictures of it and even told me that he will recommend to replace it.
I received a call from Jasmin on my voice mail and immediately called her up but never returned my call. I spoke to another customer service and was told that I have to have my carpet cleaned by a professional carpet cleaner at my expense and then submit a receipt and the report of the carpet cleaner and send a picture. What was the use of sending your inspector? This was the 2nd project in my house that you did and I am feed up and will never recommend this to my friends and to anyone. Please beware with their advertising because they will just lure you to a very bad after sales service. After they get their sales, they have a very poor after sales service. Even the warranty, it is not worth to get one. It is so useless. I just wasted money for the warranty.

We looked around for flooring companies a little while but my wife had had a stroke and she couldn’t get around too well so it was nice that Empire came to the house. The salesman was a great guy too. We had laminate flooring put in the kitchen over a year ago. The laminate is easy to take care of and is really nice. A couple days ago, we had new carpeting installed in both bedrooms and in the living room. The carpet is commercial carpeting and it is glued right to the floor. My wife is in a wheelchair and she gets around better on it, plus it looks pretty good. We've had a good experience with Empire Today and I’ve already recommended them to my next-door neighbor who just bought the place.

Was contacted by a representative a week after installation and explained my disappointment. He told me I would be contacted to set a time for someone to come to the house to see the problem. I have yet to hear from anyone. Situation is carpet weave on top steps runs side to side. Carpet weave on steps from bottom to that step runs up and down. Suggested to the person who called that sales person not tell a customer that installers will move large items. They are definitely not movers and are concerned only with getting the carpet installed. Had I know the installers were so limited in care, I would have hired individuals to move items prior to their arrival. I am not happy with the piece where carpet ends and tile begins. Looks to have been pounded/hammered-not smooth.

We have an older house, and we wanted to replace the carpet. We considered several brands but the timeframe Empire had to get it done was a lot faster so we went with them. Most companies gave us two to four weeks, but Empire's was within three days. I wanted the carpet in before we moved in. We chose stain-resistant carpets to be installed up the stairs and all upstairs by Empire Today. We liked the color for the décor plus some of it is speckled. With kids, it hides the stains a little. Everything that got done was very nice.

This has been one of the hardest home improvement experiences I have ever had. First off the first order was unable to be placed down do to a unlevelled surface subfloor not a big deal. Scheduled for a new appointment for carpet first time. No one showed up at all. When I called the service management team stated that the salesmen didn't show up for any of their appointments. Rescheduled again the day of visit. Someone called to cancel and reschedule yet again. On the day of the appointment the salesmen did show up and we got ordered placed no problem was a great guy. Day of installation had to call and get previous deposit transferred from first flooring on to second installation. Not a big deal but if I wouldn't of called what would of happened to the deposit?
Then after the flooring was completed their installers refused to take away old carpet that I cut into small pieces for easier transport nicely rolled everything up. The installer stated he wasn't going to take the old carpet because he had more jobs to do and to call empire. Ok I understand but it's in my contract that you would haul away old carpet. Called empire two days ago to figure out a resolution. Was told I should expect a call from someone the following day. Well the following day is here and I called them back customer service had me on hold for 21 minutes to tell me that they haven't got ahold of anyone yet and someone would be in contact with you yet again. Same story. Same load of crap. Very displeased with the issues that I have had from this company. I guess I'll find another company to haul away the old carpet due to this one not keeping to the contract they created.

Empire Today did a great job of selling me over priced flooring back in 2008. I knew they were overpriced and the finance options I needed and the biggest seller was and I quote "This laminate flooring is great. It can sit under 6 inches of water for 30 days before it will buckle". That was a flat out lie and the warranty does not cover leaks. Well if your product was so great, it should. My AC unit leaked and the flooring buckled, and quickly. So I get on chat, and find out not covered by warranty, and furthermore, they will not sell me the flooring direct. They have to install it.
REALLY, is that good business practice in this current market? You are forcing me to go with you, and I am sure I will have to take it in the shorts again. How is that fair? How is that right? So yes, of course they get good reviews upfront, they do a good job upfront, they do not do the right thing down the road. The right thing is to sell me the flooring so I can do myself because I don't have the budget otherwise. So not cool and they really need to train their sales staff better to not out and out lie about a product. I know he was a sales guy, but really that big of a lie, come on shame on you!
It's regretful that your floor is not meeting your expectations. We'll be in contact with you shortly to discuss your product warranty.

I think I overpaid for my carpet. I requested a breakdown of the 50/50/50 "deal" I received, and have yet to see it. I called Empire and requested the breakdown, and they said that I needed to get it from my sales rep; which just tells me that the "deal" is different from rep-to-rep, customer-to-customer. I feel totally ripped off. There was an uneven spot on our floor that we never felt before, and instead of telling us about it, the installer installed over it.
Now we have brand new carpet on an uneven floor and can't fix the problem without the major expense of ripping up the carpet, fixing the floor underneath and installing new carpet. I have multiple Empire products in my home (carpet, blinds, even a tub surround) so I called Empire expecting a fair price for good carpet and quality workmanship. I have been left disappointed for the first (and last) time, and that's an understatement.
We're disappointed to hear that your concerns were not addressed to your satisfaction. We'll investigate further, and we'll be in contact with you soon.

We ordered carpet from Empire a few months ago. The sales experience was great; lots of choices, differing price points, and felt like we made a good decision. But on the install date, they showed up 2 hours late --- AND THEN WERE AT OUR HOUSE FOR NINE HOURS. They didn't leave until after 11:00 PM. The installers were clearly inexperienced and complained that they had to move furniture (which we had paid for as part of our package). Moving furniture took about 15 minutes total, by the way. Around 8:00 PM I tried calling the sales guy to say they needed to leave and come back as my kids had to go to bed. I couldn't get a hold of him so I told the installers they needed to leave by 9:00 PM. They argued with me and told me that if I didn't let them finish, they would leave the carpet unfinished and wouldn't be able to come back for at least a week. I let them stay because I had already missed a whole day of work.
Eventually they wrapped up and left without cleaning up all the spare bits of carpet fuzz they left all over the house. Last, there was something about the color of the carpet itself that was slightly off from what I remembered. I couldn't be positive, so I sent an email to Empire telling them the color seemed off. The next day the sales guy called me back and I asked for a discount due to the poor service. He hemmed and hawed and about 4 days later I got a call from the regional manager. He said he'd offer me $100 off but that they couldn't do anything more. I was ticked. He wouldn't even talk about the carpet itself not matching what I ordered. Again, I wasn't 100% positive myself. He admitted on the phone that the story the installers told him was completely different than what I told him and he said in all his years there he had never heard of an install taking 9 hours (it was about 1200 square feet total).
Now, three months later it is apparent they installed the wrong carpet. What is supposed to last 15 years has already matted down completely on our stairs and in high traffic areas. Vacuuming it helps, but then it immediately lays back down. We called Empire to do a service call at our house as we wanted them to verify for certain what was actually installed and to figure out why it is matting down so much. Guess what? They just called and said they couldn't make the appointment today!! I've decided it's time to take action since we've done all we can trying to work on this issue locally.
We appreciate you bringing your concerns to our attention, and sincerely regret to hear that your product is not meeting your expectations. We'll be following up with you soon to further address your concerns, and start working towards a resolution.

So she said there was no way for her to reach Ms. ** at that moment but she assured me that someone would be in touch Monday, Sept. 18. At 9:30 pm Monday, Sept 18 I called for the 4th time. Celena was still there and she said according to the note that someone called me and left me a message.
WOW! What kind of game are they playing? This is getting pretty insane now. I have not received any call today or any message from Empire Today. I demanded to speak with someone at the corporate office. She said she was replaying the message to corporate for someone to call me tomorrow. In the meantime, the dishwasher door is getting worse and harder to open. I clearly made a mistake of using Empire Today. It appears that they make the money from the sale and they run. They don't care about fixing their mistakes. They seem to know how to give customers the run-around and not take responsibility. What a reputation!

We heard that Empire Today were good products and the price was reasonable. We’ve had a vinyl flooring and rug from them. We’ve also carpeted the rest of the house. All of the floorings are effective, comfortable to use on bare feet and we haven’t had to do any serious cleaning on it. It was a very good experience.

I called Empire Today, got a quote and it was easy. My sales guy was great, and the installers were very pleasant and they did a good job installing the carpet and luxury vinyl plank flooring in the basement and the stairs. I like the luxury vinyl plank because it’s easy to clean. I have animals so that’s important. I absolutely love it and I’d recommend them.

I got some carpets installed by Empire Today in two rooms and in the hallway. Compared to other brands, the cost was a bit different, but overall the products were all similar. However, Empire Today was quick, easy, and professional. They offered me a six-month financing period. The two guys were also some of the best professionals I've had to work with thus far. Being able to enjoy new carpet inside the house now is great but the new flooring has met my expectations to the point where I'm going to probably use Empire Today again after I finish paying this off. In the next seven months, I'm purchasing some hardwood or laminate flooring.

Empire Today installed some flooring in our living room, hallway, and kitchen. We considered doing it ourselves but we’re not young anymore, and I liked that Empire today moved everything for us. We always wanted the wood look in the kitchen and the vinyl flooring looked like wood. We also wanted the floor to be waterproof. We had a problem in the kitchen under the cabinet that wasn’t covered when we originally made the plan. I had put gray vinyl edges kick plates under but those things needed to go because they didn’t match the wood at all. I told the installers to give me the three-quarter rounds and I’ll put something else up there after they leave. But they said no since the three-quarter rounds won’t fit and whatever I put up there is going to change the measurements slightly. My husband suggested to cut some of the planks from the floor as kick plates and then put the quarter round up. That’s exactly what they did and it looks great.
I really like the installers, too. Although it wasn't part of their job, they even moved a big chair from the living room to the basement because my husband didn’t want that in the living room anymore. Then I bought a couch that day and we were trying to get it in the front door. They stopped, helped us do that, and they still got done quickly. We're very satisfied with Empire Today and we’ve already recommended them to somebody else.

I also liked the gentlemen who installed it. They were hard workers and they worked long hours. It was hot when they did the job, but they were very pleasant and they did great. One of the gentlemen, Saul, explained everything they were going to do every day and always cleaned up before they left.

My wife and I did a little shopping and we settled in with Empire Today for the installation of carpeting at home and for a rental property. It's in the basement staircase of our home and the two bedrooms in the rental property. The quality of the product certainly is everything that we wanted and expected and the quality of the installation was superb in both instances. We're satisfied with the product and I liked the feel of comfort under my foot for both location.
They had two separate installation crews. The guy who did the staircase was one gentleman and he was excellent while the crew was superb in the second installation for the two bedrooms. I was very impressed with the quality and craftsmanship and I would definitely refer Empire. Overall, our experience was professional and everything went well. There was only one glitch when I tried to use a business credit card and for some reason, the rep had a problem processing it. I've used that particular credit card for all of my purchases and I've never had a problem with it. Empire was the first time I ever had a problem getting it processed.

For the quality and the cost, Empire Today was superior to the other places that I looked at. The carpet I got from them has a 15-year warranty, and better quality and price, compared to the other one, from another company, that had a 10-year warranty. I wish I could've chosen a darker color but there wasn't that color there. But I like the idea that it’s stain resistant and how well it’s treated, which most of the carpet is but I’m loving it. It brightened up my house compared to what I had in there before.
And I feel the carpet salesman was nice. I had a couple of problems and I was able to call him and get those resolved right away without having to wait. So, I like that aspect of having access to him and he'll answer. And he’s given me everything that I needed at the end and I didn’t have to wait for him. But everybody who came was professional. They have to move everything and they put the carpet down in the old house. They do everything and nothing broke out. I would recommend Empire Today.

Sometimes their English isn't as good as it could be but we get through it. But the customer service rep got confused. When the installers were waiting to do the job I was quoted a certain price and somehow they had $200 more on the invoice and that wasn't right. So the installers had to stand in the driveway and wait for customer service to get their acts together before they could start working. It was delayed by about two hours but it wasn't the installer's fault. The installers are just really humble and hard working people. They're all fabulous.

The problem with my laminate flooring was fixed on 10/3/17, with the exception on 3 bolts that were not screwed back on to my railing. I had laminate flooring installed in my home on July. I noticed a couple of days later the hallway, the entrance and the floor going to my daughter's room all had deep scratches on the laminate. I couldn't believe it. I just had the NEW floor installed! I called Empire right away, told them the issue along with some other issues I had. I asked them to send a different installer to check the work out and get a second opinion. Empire ended up sending the same guys. They were very nice, but I specifically asked Empire I wanted a different person to come.
Today someone was scheduled to come and finally they sent someone else to check out the second problem I had which was a NAIL came off the middle board that divides the kitchen from the living room and my 7 year old daughter got stabbed on her foot. I am beyond disappoint with Empire and their business. I would not recommend Empire to anyone. Beware, your experience is going to largely depend on who you end up dealing with. We had someone come out and give us an estimate, which was much higher than we expected based on Empire's advertising. When we asked why it was so expensive, we were told that it was because it involved stairways and the shape of the space, and there was no way to do it cheaper. Made the mistake of believing him, and went ahead with the job.
A few weeks later decided to carpet another room, a different person came out. In going through options with him, he mentioned that he was surprised at the quality of carpet we had done for the prior job (which involved a stairs and hallway into an unfinished attic - turns out the reason it was so expensive was the 1st guy sold us the most expensive carpet available and hid the fact there were cheaper options available when asked. To make it worse, we called in a complaint about this, and never heard back. Ultimately, we called them and in short were told since we were unhappy we just shouldn't use them for the 2nd job.

On August 30, 2017 we had carpet laid in our home and it was paid in full when job was complete with check ** dated 8/30/17. The installer called the transaction in on his cell phone for the full amount and left. Everything was good, we were happy with the carpet and payment being made. He did his transaction electronically and returned the check to us saying he didn't need it, it was already handled and paid for on his phone.
Then we received a letter from Certegy Check Services later in September saying the bank returned the check unpaid. The letter states "Through no apparent error on your part, Certegy has been notified by your financial institution that they were unable to process this transaction to your account. They said the possibility was the Routing Number and/or Account number structure."
I called Certegy the next day since they were already closed when we received the letter. When the young lady helping me took the Routing Number and Account number she said, "That's what is wrong, he didn't give the 000 at the beginning of the account number." She thanked me, resubmitted the check and I hung up thinking everything was good.
Then to add insult to injury, yesterday September 15th we received a letter stating that the payment was ok and that "You have authorized Certegy Check Services, Inc to debit a Returned Check Charge of $25.00 from your account in the event the one time debit is returned unpaid by your financial institution." I do not feel we should be responsible for the $25.00 fee since it was not any problem on our part that caused the check to be returned. The installer is the one that did the deposit on the phone and failed to mention the 000 at the beginning of our checking account number that caused the whole mistake.
We want our $25.00 refunded but Empire said we have to deal with Certegy, Certegy has an answering machine that puts you in a never ending loop of choices, none that have to do with what my complaint is. If Certegy is allowed to collect $25.00 for every account they receive, even ones that are not the customers fault they are going to be a very rich bunch of jerks. I understand if there is a customer at fault but EMPIRE is their customer not us! The fault lays with them.

We had Empire do our house flooring when we built it and we were happy with it then, so we kept using them. We hired them again when we had a flood in our basement. Our carpet was fine, but the padding was soaked. So we ripped out our padding, dried our carpet and we had Empire install the padding and put the carpet back down. We also had them put some flooring in our bathroom.
I talked to the sales guy who we worked with years ago but he couldn’t assist us because we weren’t purchasing a flooring. But he got in touch with the customer service and they took care of it. My sales guy told them what we were getting done based on his documents from the initial carpet installation then over the phone, a person in customer service gave me a quote. I asked him if he was sure he got the right space because it doesn’t sound like a lot of money. He confirmed that it's for the basement area that they did back in 2014. He quoted us about $400 but I was expecting it to be about a thousand dollars. I liked the price but I wanted to make sure that they had the right space. I even called my sales guy to make sure of the price. He said that he looked into it and that they were throwing a good price because I was a former customer.
Then, when the installers came, they only had half the material for the padding. They called their supervisor and were asking me for another $500 for them to do the rest of the padding. But I have already confirmed the price multiple times and I wasn’t paying more after they decided to come here. I had to work hard with the customer service on getting it to the price that I agreed with them on. I was frustrated about it because even as a customer I shouldn't even had to do that due diligence of calling and asking, but I did. They had every opportunity before to charge me for it or get this right and I don't know why they didn't have the right amount in their system. So it was a bit of a battle and I don't know where the miscommunication came about.
Because people were moving into our basement, we needed to get our flooring done but we were held up multiple days because I had to go get more material. Then, when they were scheduled to come back, the installers didn't come. We were waiting around for them and we had things to do that day. We also never even got a reason why they weren't coming.
Then, once the installers finished, they didn't install the threshold to match with my office and the bathroom flooring which didn’t make sense. They just said to have the carpeting guys do it when they come. I asked them if the carpet guys will have that material and they replied that they'll have it. But when the carpet guys came, they didn’t have that material to do that threshold. Empire should have had this figured out and it was frustrating. I also had to do all these leg work. After six weeks, we finally got the threshold done but the colors don't match the carpet. It's okay, though and I'm going to live with it.
When we ordered from Empire years ago, we were very satisfied. But this time around, there were too many scenarios that were going on and it wasn't good. Their whole scheduling system wasn’t well-organized either. We got this weird automated call on the day of the installation saying that the installers will be arriving at a certain time, then we got another call from the installers saying that they can’t come at that time. The installers also didn’t come the day that the company told us they were going to come. I understand things come up, but we never even got a reason why they weren't coming as scheduled. As customers, we felt that we just got left. My husband and I will never go back with Empire.

Hurricane Irma happened so they canceled for the 11th. Ok I understand and rescheduled for the next day. The installers came out to the house and after an hour of being at the house said they could not do the job because the floors are too unlevel and told me I needed to get a contractor out to level the floors before they would put down the tile.
I have most of the floors in my house down to the concrete so there was nothing hidden when the salesman was here and we asked him about leveling the floors and he said no problem. I took time to move stuff out of the bedrooms so they could have a place to start instead of doing clean up from Hurricane Irma. I wouldn't even use Empire now even if it was free. Called customers service department and all they could do was cancel and refund my deposit. My fiancée also mentioned that one of her family members used Empire and was very happy with it so we went ahead and called Empire.
We were looking for soft, plush and durable carpeting and we got one with a 20-year warranty. And because this was going to be our last home and our forever home we wanted something nice. We wanted the upgraded carpeting. The guys who came in were very professional, strong and young. They carried that carpeting in and out and they got it done in no time. They also answered all our questions and kept us happy. There were other things involved too. They were very understanding and patient with us when we were closing on the house and had to change the installation date twice.

I was looking for a carpet and flooring for the hallway and I got an estimate from Lowe’s where I live and it was a little higher than we anticipated. The lady I work with told me to give Empire Today a call. The cost was about $700 cheaper than Lowe’s and the selection was good that I didn’t have a problem picking out anything I needed. The gentleman that came out did an excellent job explaining everything. I didn’t have any qualms with the work they’ve tried to do, it’s just it didn’t go as smooth as we thought it would.
During installation, the crew were rushing. They got there at 1:30 on a Friday and they were going as far as they could go. They had to take the furniture out of all the rooms and the gentleman said, “Do you mind if I put your couches out on the yard?”. I told them that we needed to put some plastic down. They didn’t have plastic with them for that kind of thing and they should be equipped with some sheet or plastic. My husband got his plastic out since I didn’t want my couch in the yard. Two of the gentlemen couldn’t speak any English but the one over them can. But they were very polite. I didn’t have any problem with them working, they were just in a hurry.
They placed the carpet and the laminate but they didn’t finish it. When they got through they said, “We’ll be back tomorrow” and I never heard from anybody. Nobody called and let us know what was happening. I finally had to call back for them to finish it and told them that they had to bring back different threshold pieces because what they had ordered wasn’t right. When they came back to finish, everything appeared okay but we had a feeling that the thresholds wouldn’t stay down and they popped up. They’re not plush where you can’t walk on the floor, but you can hear it when you step on them and they are loose. My husband said, “Those are never going to stay.” And I don’t think they will either. It wasn’t a week and some of them had already popped. Also, the plush in front of my bathroom was supposed to be a single piece and not pieced together. It didn’t look good to me.
I had a call and somebody took my information. That gentleman said he would have someone call me but nobody ever called. They called about the bill and I said, “Well, I haven’t paid the bill because I’m not really satisfied with my laminate flooring they paneled.” He said, “Well, that didn’t have anything to do with us. But you need to contact them.” I’ve had to contact Empire and a few days later, someone called me and they have taken my statement and they’re supposed to have someone set a time to come out and fix the problems. It was explained to me my payment was around $70. The first statement was $150 but he said, “Well, if you did the six-month payment interest free or the 12-month interest free, that would have changed it.”
I said, “I didn’t know. That wasn’t explained to us.” I asked if we could change that and he said he’d have someone from financial call me so to get that cost lowered. I never heard from that part too. I wouldn’t mind referring Empire Today to someone but I’d hesitate a bit if it went like what happened with our experience. I’m pleased with the product but I think that the installation could be a little bit better.
We regret to hear this, and are aware that we're currently working with you to schedule a repair. We'll be following up with you shortly to continue working on a resolution.

We decided to go with Empire to install laminate flooring throughout our house, and the entire experience has been a nightmare! We were told they would be sending a crew out (not knowing that they use subcontractors). Well one guy showed up claiming he just had to fire his partner so it was just going to be him, after the 2nd day we knew something was not right. The floor was very very soft in a few spots. We called to ask about it and we're told over and over again that that was normal for laminate. Not knowing a whole lot about laminate we trusted his word. The day after he had finished we noticed a crack in the one floor board, frustrated we decided to call Empire. After finally a WEEK of calling and leaving voicemails we got a call back that they would be sending someone out to look at the floor. They sent out a different crew of guys who told us how horrible our floors were.
I couldn't believe it when they put a leveler on our living room floor and it was over a inch and a half unlevel!! They proceeded to tell us that the whole floor would need ripped up and the subfloor would need leveled out and the laminate reinstalled!! Mind you my husband already had to take 3 days off work for this to be done the first time. They took pictures and said they would send them to Empire and we would get a callback... 3 days later and no call till my husband had to call them! And we're still waiting for a callback on how to proceed with this mess! I would never ever recommend this company to anyone!!! I would take our old dirty carpet back over having to ever deal with this company!

We have had our carpet in our home for seven months. The carpet is already showing wear/breakdown. Empire Today came out inspected and their inspector told us that yes the carpet is wearing down. It's not holding its retention and the carpet fibers are untwisting. Empire then stated they had to send another inspector out to inspect, this inspector was supposed to be a third-party inspector. He also sided with us and said he would do everything he could in his report to help get this problem resolved. According to Empire that inspector said that it was normal wear and tear and that there wasn't anything wrong with the carpet. We were sold carpet that was supposed to be able to handle high traffic, we also purchased an upgraded pad.
After seven months my wife and I have feet and back pain because it literally feels like we're just walking around on concrete, the carpet is showing wear from our traffic which is only two adults and two children. We are very dissatisfied and just disgusted with Empire and how they are handling us. They are not living up to their reputation, my suggestion: NEVER buy carpet from Empire Today you're better off going with Home Depot, Lowe's or any other flooring company for that matter. We spent nearly $15,000 with the Empire Today for new carpet, new pad, and some hardwood flooring. And now we're stuck with poor carpet that is only seven months old.

I lost my significant other in July and there were things that I needed to do to the home that Joe didn't do. The package deal that Empire Today offered made me decide to go with them. Empire Today installed carpet and blinds in all three of my bedrooms and installed blinds in the kitchen as well. I was also going to get laminate flooring from them but I got a phone call telling me that they were out of stock and they would send somebody over to change it. I was disappointed about that.
Other than that, the cost and quality of their products were phenomenal. There were two different groups of installers that came in and both groups were very professional. They weren't sloppy and did what they needed to do. I was happy with the installers on both occasions. I'm glad that I went with Empire Today for carpets and blinds as the products had gone above my expectations. The best part is that the carpets and blinds made my home feel brand new and I have recommended Empire Today to three of my neighbors.

I had Empire Today install a carpet in my basement. I initially considered other brands, but I had been in business with Empire before so I felt more comfortable with them. I got a better deal with them as well. The sales rep was really nice. He came with the samples and let me choose. In the end, I chose the Short Nap Berber-type carpet. I originally had an appointment scheduled for installation, and I waited and waited, and then started calling but nobody answered. Then I received a call at around 11 telling me that they won’t be able to keep my appointment because one of their trucks had gotten into an accident. I was really upset about it because time is precious and Saturdays are the only time I have to take care of my business and spend time with my family. So, I told them that I should be compensated, or at least get a deduction from the carpet cost. All they could do is give me a $50 refund. My total bill was supposed to be 925 instead of 975.
The installers came the following Saturday at 7 o'clock in the morning. The guys were nice but I didn’t like the fact that I caught the lead guy smoking a cigarette first thing in the morning. It was a little awkward too, since I’m a single woman, to have his three young teenage companions use the bathroom at least twice. For an area that was very small, it took the installers a little too long to finish the job. My basement is very small and only half of it needs to be covered. It didn’t help that they didn’t check the thickness of the carpet because now, I can’t open the door. I will need a carpenter to resize it and put it back up, which is going to be an added expense. Overall, I had an exhausting installation experience. But Empire is a state-based company and I grew up with them, so I would still recommend them.

Empire Today did the carpeting for two bedrooms, the library and the staircase at our home that we only occupy part time. We went with Empire mostly because of the convenience of having the sales rep come to the property and meet us there so we could get an idea of how it would look in the home. We had shopped a little bit prior to that and we knew what we wanted basically. The salesman, Jeff, was very personable and was eventually able to give us a price that we were comfortable with. It came very close to matching a quote we had from other company. We also liked the color of the carpet.
However, the installers, who were very pleasant, had to remove some sliding closet doors to install the carpet in the bedrooms. And then they were not able to get the closet doors back into place so that they'd function properly. Even though they did try multiple times, we have to get them fixed another way. We'll work on the closet doors ourselves and see if we can get it resolved. If not, then I’ll call Empire’s customer service about it. Other than that, everything else was fine. I would recommend them and would tell a friend to make sure that any items that were being removed for the sake of installation were paid particular attention to so that they could be properly reinstalled.

We made the install date in June for the flooring and carpet to both be installed on 8/5th. We were phoned the day before that the flooring could not be installed and we needed to make a different appointment. The explanation we were giving was that they didn't have an installer available. After several phone calls on 8/4 a call we finally returned the morning in 8/05. The woman said there was no way that our flooring could be installed and then preceded to say it was our fault because they offered appointments (all during the week) and we would only take a weekend appointment.
We finally set a Friday date (after having to act our renter) to be available. When I came home at 3 pm I found that the interior garage door was off and leaning in the garage. I went upstairs and the installer said that they couldn't put the door back on because it needed to be cut. He said they don't cut doors. Keep in mind it was 104 outside so my air conditioner was running and the exterior heat was allowed to come in. I said, "You have to do something" so they leaned the door against the frame. They left while I was upstairs looking at the bathroom floor.
Our neighbor told us that the installers had company come over to our house. They were yelling at each other in front of our home. One installer had his little children over. WE WERE NOT HOME! We called because of the way they poorly installed/cut the tiles and that they were coming up. They came back and argued with my husband that they laid the flooring correctly but after calling the company they were told to replace it.

When the salesperson David ** came out to provide a new estimate, I was initially told how quickly and professionally the job would be completed. The job was in my open area (living room and dining room are combined and the area encompasses about 680 sq ft. He gave a time frame of 8 to 10 hours. I was told the quote included furniture being moved and carpet hauled away. I accepted the quote and this is where the customer service ENDED.
My problem began when the install crew arrived after 10 am. They were quick to explain that their lateness was due to Empire not providing the correct materials for a job done the night before; so the first two hours of my install were used to complete that job. They were confused about the design of my fireplace and had to make several phone calls to determine how to place the hardwood around the surface. The biggest issue occurred when the installer explained that the job would take TWO days.
I explained that Saturday was not an option because of prior engagements and that we could simply RESCHEDULE. He then went on to promise that his crew would stay until the job was completed. My payment was processed thereafter. Once half of my job was completed and 1 1/2 hour lunch break, I was told the job wouldn't be finished. How convenient! The crew left furniture, equipment, and dust all over my house. Didn't attempt to move any furniture or clean anything.
They are currently in my house now, with a young lady helping who appears to be a child. They are cutting wood INSIDE my house because I'm assuming it would be a huge inconvenience to cut outside since it's chilly. I was warned by other competitors that Empire uses ANYONE to complete installs and the professionalism would be lacking. Now, I see that wasn't a sales pitch but the complete truth. Avoid Empire and go with Lowe's or Home Depot if you want the truth and professionalism. This overpriced, low-quality product simply isn't worth the total lack of service you will receive.

But besides that everything with the company was a huge headache.
The rep himself gave me the quote of $5,000 for everything. Then one of the guys that were supposed to put the floors did excellent. But he wasn't given the correct items that he needed to put the correct floors down for the first day. Numbers weren’t really quoted correctly. I’m a numbers guy. You tell me the exact number, what it’s going to be with tax, with everything. That’s what I am expecting. I’m not expecting any more and I didn’t get that.
I felt like it was very discombobulated on how numbers are getting sent to me. And then when the reps came they had to call their customer service because they were trying to charge me something that was never told to me. He keeps telling me it’s $5,000 for everything. The floors and whatever what you need to put down that means everything. Don’t use the word everything or everything doesn’t mean everything.

We picked something from the samples which the men who came out brought, but when they got out they told me that it wouldn't work. They had to put some kind of a leveler and it’s going to be a $1,000 more. So then I said no. We had another one and they assured me it would work.
A second group came out and did it. They were nice and were able to rectify the problem but it’s the same thing. It's not as bad but they had to do some kind of a treatment. They didn’t charge me for it which was nice but it’s just a whole rigmarole over the things in the floor. Empire sales rep visited 7/29/17. He provided a carpeting quote for approximately $2,000 for three bedrooms which included a master bedroom, master closet (2' x 10') and hallway; basically 3 rooms and the connecting hallway. He did not provide me with a copy of the quote or the contract. I told him I'm a single mom and need to save money and that I would get back to him about the installation.
I emailed the sales rep on 8/10 to ask for a revised quote, and not carpet one of the rooms and the closet so as to save money. Installation was to be done on 8/14. He never got back to me. I left a message on his phone but he never called. I then called Empire's 800 number and they said the new price was $1,533.79. Still no contract. Installers arrived Monday, no one spoke English on the installation team so it was difficult to speak about inconsistencies or ask questions. My mother was at home to take care of any issues.
I arrived home that night and upset with the poor installation. There were gaps in the edging around the corners, so much so that you could put your index finger in a hole in at least three places. The carpet was not installed to go under the baseboards so that you could see a clear line where the carpet ended. Several areas were not tacked down, you could pick up the carpeting and see that it was not wide enough or stretched properly; tacks were left sticking up in a few places and the padding in the hallway shifted and was lumpy. Turns out, Empire contracts out its salespeople and installers.
The installers were to come back to inspect the work on 8/26 but no-showed. I received a call from Empire on that Monday and they apologized; the inspection was rescheduled for 9/7. This was not before I contacted their corporate office and spoke to a regional customer service supervisor. The contract was finally emailed to me but not a receipt/invoice for the work performed. I specifically asked for carpet samples to be brought to the inspection so I could make comparisons.
They did come for the inspection with another salesman who showed me other samples. They said that the carpet would be reinstalled with the new carpeting. The next day I received a call from their headquarters in Illinois informing me that I would need to pay an additional $300+ to reinstall the new carpet stating that by looking at photos, the installation was done correctly. POOR POOR customer service; I should have done business with my local carpet company.

We live in Wilsonville, Oregon and there’s a warehouse right down the road about a mile and a half from us. We stopped in the warehouse area to make an appointment. Their reps told us that they’re not a showroom, but they can get somebody come out for an estimate. It was a smooth process. However, they’re about two weeks behind on the install which wasn’t really bad. Empire’s team also did a good job on the installation.
Empire had a shorter attached carpet, so it wasn’t easy for the dog to pull on. The carpet we had before was construction grade and not very tightly woven. The dog chewed a few holes on it. We also got a color that kind of match the shedding. So, it had a nice pattern to it. That was a good color between our floors. Empire met my expectations. I’ve told a couple of people at work to check Empire if they’re looking to do some carpet.

The wood vinyl tile is beautiful. The white trim is quite nice but the brown trim we were not told about and would rather it be gone. The brown trim makes it look like it is hiding mistakes and it has begun to peel on the edges and we have had our tile for only a month. The workers were very friendly & hardworking. We were told to expect it to take 2 days. They did it in one day which really was a mistake. They were at our house from 11 am until 10 pm which was too late. There were a few problem spots that needed to be fixed like the thresholds moving in all of the doorways & where the hallway & living room met.
It was very difficult to get anyone to come out and fix a couple of problem spots. My husband took the day off from work and the worker never showed up and came a day or two later. The joint that connects the hallway to the living room was re-glued but has moved again leaving a large gap & it is not something we can fix ourselves. We would appreciate someone coming out and replacing some of the tile in the hallway so that this does not happen again. If it gets fixed in a timely manner then we would be willing to give Empire a higher rating.
We are disappointed to hear that your overall experience was not a positive one. We will investigate further and will be in contact with you soon.

The TV ad before and after my purchase said carpeting, tiles, and all flooring was included in the 1/2 price sale. I feel like I was taken advantage of and I had no way to dispute the salesman's claims. I really am pleased with the carpet tiles I had installed and with the installers and the job they did. I was satisfied with what I got in the bedroom. But on the second one, I wasn’t. I live in Miami and our second home is in Daytona. Empire's rep called from Jacksonville and told me that his installers called in sick and can't make it. So, then I just made a blank trip all the way from Miami. I had to go back to Miami and then come back to get the carpet installed. It was a big inconvenience. I spent over a hundred dollars plus food and gas just coming from Miami. It was always, “I got to come back and do this,” or, “I don’t do that.” Everything was supposed to have been done in one day but it ended up taking three. And the three days weren’t consecutive, there were gaps in between. The floor wasn’t done on the day that we were told it would be done. The most recent Empire Today product I had installed is luxury vinyl flooring. I got it put in the entry way, the hallway, the powder room and the kitchen of my parents' new house. My parents like how it is spill proof and you know if water gets on it. They also like how it looks like hardwood but it's not. It has a nice look without the difficult upkeep. They also like the color a lot. The house had 30 year old linoleum with blue flowers so it warmed everything up and was definitely a step up. There was one little issue with a piece of the quarter around in the floor installation. When we called about it, Empire came back and fixed it right away.
I've gotten really good service from Andrew, the sales person that I deal with directly. I developed really good rapport with him. He's excellent and anytime I've ordered through him, which is four times now, I've gotten other Empire products. He comes out immediately, the product is available and he knows what we need. His prices are also great and they come and install the next day. It doesn't get easier than that and that's the kind of shopping I like to do. I've sent him to friends and family of mine. Also, my mom called him after the floor got installed because she decided to get the family room carpet done. That was great and it also looks great. I had Empire install carpeting three years ago. My husband and I live in the home alone and have no pets. I called Empire because I am very unhappy about the way the carpet is wearing. It was sold to me as one of their better carpets. The carpet is matting excessively. Vacuuming and cleaning do not improve its appearance. I called customer service with my complaint and was told they would get back to me with a claim number but that it would cost me $75.00 to have someone take a look at it because I'd had the carpet over a year.
I then received a letter that they had been unable to get a hold of me. After finally reaching the letter writer an appointment was made to have the carpet looked at. The fellow that came to the house looked as if he'd just gotten off the job; dirty white t-shirt and nothing that identified him as an Empire representative. He took pictures and agreed that the carpet was bad. The check has been cashed and we have been unable to find out the status of our claim. Our calls are not returned and when we do happen to reach someone and ask to speak to a supervisor we're told no one is available. We've spoken to Los Angeles and West Texas customer service. The corporate office number in Chicago that we were given is not a valid number. It's been over a month and we've not been able to even find out the status of our claim.

However, I love the gray color of our carpet more than our laminate. The laminate wasn’t really the laminate that I would’ve chosen. It was more for resale so it's very dark and we have a white dog. I vacuum more than I used to, but it's simple. We picked that color because there was another floor of our second living room that was dark so we tried to match as close as we could. Also, they came over with a certain color of shoe molding but I wanted it white instead of the color of the floor. They gave me no problem with that and it was great that when I came home, the white was installed. My experience was great. It was simple and easy, and I would do it again if I have to.

Upon the purchase of our new home it was decided for health reasons that we needed carpet and flooring done. We had a few estimates and ultimately chose empire due to their A rating with the Better Business Bureau as well as their stellar reputation. Salesman also told us that Empire does not sub-contract out. As of right now, I do not believe that. While the experience with the salesman was decent, the rest of the experience was a total nightmare.
We purchased 3 rooms of laminate and one room of carpet. The cost, said to be over $12,000, was ultimately dwindled down to $5800. Delivery and installation was promised Saturday, August 12th. Received all confirmations Friday evening, August 11th. Saturday morning, 8 am, received cancellation call from Empire on the carpet, stating that the carpet was delivered to Empire "damaged". Now, We cleared our entire day of activities, work and such to have the floors installed. At 8 am, morning of delivery, how is it you realize the carpet is "damaged" but did not realize that upon confirming appointment just 12 or so hours prior? We had scheduled our furniture to be delivered Monday August 14th. On Saturday the 12th, Empire could not reschedule my carpet installation. They said I needed to wait until Monday to reschedule.
Monday morning I rescheduled and they insisted the soonest they could come install carpet was Wednesday the 16th. Now my furniture had to sit in other rooms of the house until carpet was installed. They refused to give me a window for delivery, so I was told I needed to be home from 8 am to 6 pm. This is another day I had to cancel all activities and work. My two small children and I waited all day. I called first thing Wednesday morning, no delivery time available. I called every hour. Each time I called, the answer was the same. The customer service rep could not get in touch with installers. Finally at 4 pm, I called outraged. Miraculously they got in touch with installers and then tried to cancel my appointment! I was adamant and told them it was not acceptable, they needed to come today.
Finally at 6 pm the installers arrived. They had the wrong size carpet. They basically told me there would be 3 or 6 large visible seams in the carpet. I called Empire again. The installers left, and I still had no carpet. It was during this time I began to notice how awful the laminate floor job was in the bedrooms. My sock would catch on the seams. While some seams were smooth, many seams are jagged, raised and pressed to close together. They will definitely end up chipping. Not to mention the socks that will be ruined. I called again to complain. Empire then rescheduled my carpet installation for the following Saturday. Upon installation of the carpet, I requested an inspector to come look at bedroom floors.
I had a representative call me back, set up an inspector for Friday September 1st and try to tell me that I needed to be home from 8 am to 6 pm AGAIN. I said no way, unacceptable. I was promised an early morning window with a confirmation Thursday evening. Confirmation never came. I called and they could not confirm time. Friday morning, September 1, 8 am I called Empire to see if inspectors were coming. They came around 10 AM. However, These were same people who installed the laminate floors. I tried my best to communicate with them. Unfortunately I am not fluent in Spanish. The conversation was broken, but what I did understand is he said to me - "This is how this floor is, if you wanted a smoother floor you should have bought a more expensive floor, this is not my fault".
Now, this whole situation has me enraged. I was so flustered with his answer. I forgot to show him that the carpet installers did not install a saddle. They were quick to leave my house, making me sign a tablet that they showed up. I am so disgusted. Spending $6000 on floors, with an awful experience, being made to feel like I am cheap, and being brushed off numerous times, this was literally one of the worst experiences I have ever encountered.
I have had laminate floors before. Many people I know have laminate. Many people I know actually install flooring. All say same. The floors should be installed smooth. Only some seams are smooth. I thought one bedroom (the master) was installed correctly, and now as I am becoming more aware of how awful this was, I am going over my floors with a fine tooth comb. Guess what-all laminate flooring awful. Furthermore, how is sending the men that installed the floor the same as installing an "inspector?"
Furthermore, I needed to call Cablevision due to an interruption in service. The technician informed me that there was a problem with the cable wire, where the carpet was installed, (the installers ran cable wire under carpet around one side of room). The technician informed me it may be a staple through the wire. We will not know for sure unless we remove the wire from under the carpet. I feel cheated, I feel abused, I feel disgusted and swindled. Getting someone from Empire to call me back is nearly impossible. Please do not do business with this company. Save yourself the time, money and energy. Happy to provide any further documentations needed.
We sense your frustration, and sincerely regret to hear that this was your experience. We'll be in contact with you soon to further discuss your concerns.
Thank you.

On Feb 24 the day I moved in I noticed that the flooring was puffing up around the edges. I called to report it and was told I would be notified within 3 days and someone would be sent out to inspect my floor. I called back on the 3rd day and was told that someone would contact me the following day. Two days later I received a call from a rude sales representative. The first question she ask me was what did I do to the floor? And what had I cleaned it with? I informed her that it had not been cleaned because I just moved in. She was angry and asked me to send her pictures which I did.
Three days later she sent 5 gentleman to my condo unannounced, one day after my 1st chemo treatment. They came in moving my furniture, taking pictures and pulling back my carpet. It was very intrusive and intimidating. The representative insisted that I had a leak somewhere and it would be $600.00 to fix the area. I had a plumber to inspect my entire home and no leak was found. I asked her for the name of the manufacturer and she told me Clarion and it would do me no good to go to them because they would send me back to Empire.
Her tone and treatment was terrible considering I had spent nearly $3000 for my flooring with her company. As a result I had to get my entire floor replaced by another company because of the poor grade of the Empire flooring and the terrible customer service I received over $600.00 of flooring that was really only worth $89.00. I was taken advantage of and treated poorly. I have shared my experience with many and discourage anyone from doing business with Empire. I walked into the and found a pile of ants in the center of the carpeting. This wasn't in the kitchen and no food goes in this room because it’s blocked off. I sprayed the ants and then I went over and vacuumed them again. It was in the weirdest spot and maybe some eggs got laid in the carpeting but the old carpeting was completely stripped and everything is brand new.
I was hoping that my spraying took them away. And then we were on vacation, so nobody had used that room for a week, but there were still ants left. It was the strangest thing and it wasn't on the edge of the carpet. There were two small piles right in the center part of the living room that’s about four feet from the wall and a good six feet on the other side. We just decided to keep the 08/18 installation date and be done with this and then we were told on the morning of 08/18 because they didn't have the product, and, worst, had no idea when they would have it again. I have now been on the line for over 20 minutes listening to ads for promotions I do NOT want and when I reached the end I was dropped from the call again! This is so horrible it's beyond ridiculous.

From the sample showing and measuring to the actual install. It was fast, professional and an all around good experience. It is like they say: you get what you pay for. We paid for quality and received it. Within 4 - 5 hours they did the stairs, 2 rooms, 1 office and the connecting hallway in between. Could not ask for more.

I guess you could say all of it. Our salesman was NOT PUSHY! I just wanted some information, and after spending a little time with him and learning about the products available, we signed a contract that day! Everything was set up at OUR convenience, and was verified ahead of time. Installers were on time, clean, and polite. Our new floor is beautiful, and was finished in a matter of hours. After several weeks, a small piece of the "threshold " between the dining room and bedroom popped up a little. I called and left a message, and received a return call and appointment set up for this week to fix the problem. I know why they are busy, the whole package is great... Thanks for a job well done.

I did a review of a few companies but instead of choosing locally, I went by reputation and hired Empire to install vinyl flooring in my kitchen and bathroom. I thought that I was getting a discount of the two rooms but they said that it didn’t apply for the product that I got. They also said they could come in and do it in one day. But it actually took two days because I had laminate flooring put in,too, and I didn’t find out that it would be a couple of days until they were here. The flooring matches all the woodwork in the house and was a little more than I expected. I don’t like this kind of flooring but I got it because I’m preparing to live elsewhere and it’s extremely impressive to come in and see these floors this beautiful. I’d recommend Empire. They came in, did their work and were focused on what they were doing. Everyone was polite and stuff was cleaned up as it was supposed to be. Plus, they let me go ahead and ask questions and they answered them.

The carpet buying process was made simple. Installation process was good, we did change the date a couple times. Empire should have told us they subcontracted the work out. The subcontractors did a good job. They did have a few bangs on the wall during the furniture moving (we painted the whole house before getting new carpet). Was a language barrier with the Spanish speaking installers. They were very pleasant and worked hard. Empire we have called many times to complain about the strip between the carpet and the linoleum floor. You have not called us back. We want someone to come replace the plain uneven carpet strip very soon.

The sales representative was great and the flooring product was great, but when the installers unloaded their work truck they left a big Dewalt tile cutter leaning against our garage door and when I opened the garage door the tile cutter hit and scratched our car rear bumper and when the installers left, they left a big oil stain on our drive way.

Love the new carpet, wish we had upgraded the padding, disappointed that it took 3 appointments to finally get someone to install the carpets. Two cancellations on Empire's part is not a good track record. But we would still give them a chance if we needed new carpeting or flooring.

The men came and installed the laminate flooring were on time, introduced themselves, were efficient. I felt sorry for them because it took more than 20 minutes for him the phone to clear the amount that was due, the person on the other end of the line was sure giving him a bad time, but he was very patient with her. The men installing the carpet were equally as great. No complaints, except I have yet to get any kind of written warranty, and written directions on care of carpet, as do want the flooring and carpet to last and always look nice.

I had called around and nobody could install my flooring for several weeks. I was in a hurry because I moved in and wanted to get it installed before the furniture was placed in. Empire Today came within the day to do the tile and done within a week and a half for the carpet. I like the carpet. It’s nice and looks pretty good for wear and tear. They did a pretty good job at installing the tiles too. But the price was a little confusing because it was supposed to be a “Buy one, get one free” and after they put all the taxes and fees on there, it didn’t look like it was “Buy one, get one free.” But it was okay. It was done quickly.
We had put half down with the salesperson who helped us pick out the floors. When the installers came, they wanted the tile paid before they would install it. So, we gave them a check that they electronically cashed. Then when the carpet guy came, he wanted the balance before he would install the carpet. He called the company and they told us we owed more than what we should’ve because we cancelled a small job which was tiling around the patio door outside to the pool. I had that cancelled but they were still charging me for it. Still, we paid him by credit card.
We thought everything was great, but then we got a bill in the mail from the collection agency saying we still owe them money, and I've gone around and around with them. I had to dig up the check I already paid them. It looks like we may owe them a little bit of money but then I figured out the "buy one, get one free" that didn't seem like it really was. But I gave them a call because I don’t want them to put anything on my credit report. It’s confusing with people coming in then charging us. It was not a good experience. People need to be aware of the fine print. I would never use Empire again.
We understand your frustration and sincerely regret to hear that this was your experience. We'll be in contact with you soon to start working towards a resolution
Thank you.

I'll be completely honest here: I didn't shop around. I used Empire because I've known the name for years, they get great reviews, the price seemed reasonable, and I liked the warranty. The installation went perfectly and looks great, and I'm extremely pleased. I had some squeaky areas in the floors, and was told if I gave them a box of screws, they'd sink the screws in those areas. All the spots that used to squeak don't anymore. Love it! The salesperson was easy to work with, knew her product line, and answered all the questions I had (and I tend to ask a lot of questions). We re-carpeted three rooms on the first floor, and when we renovate the second floor, Empire is who I will be calling to do it.
