I bought a condominium and the realtor referred me to Empire Today. I had them install carpet in my den, living room, hallway and bedroom. Their installers left a mess in my hallway so my neighbor had to vacuum it up. It was awful. Someone called me to see how it went but I don't know if they followed up with the person or not. So they need to work on when they need the stuff to be cleaned up and be able to do it, not just leave a mess.
We take matters such as this one very seriously, and we'll be further investigating your concerns.

The salesman from Empire Today walked in and we started talking. He lived right down the street and so I stayed with the neighborhood. I first had carpets done in the living room and then I decided I needed the hallway and the master bedroom done, too. They were courteous and fast and got that done within a week in my timeline. I like the thickness of the carpet and everything was awesome.

Empire Today has a created a flooring nightmare for me. I have been working with them for 6 months to get carpet and LVP in my little cabin in Carmel Valley. I still do not have a finished job. I have lots of apologies, excuses, misinformation, and out and out lies, but the job is not complete. The first time out they arrived at 7:00 PM to start the job, They showed up with half the carpet because they said their estimator measured incorrectly. Wow, now that means after I load all the furniture back in the house, I need to do it again the next time they show up with the other half of the carpet? Carpet install was crappy, peeling up in the corners, carpet had a foul odor and squeaked when walked on. Next week the flooring guys showed up and did a good job on that part! Yeah.
It looked so good we decided to replace the crap carpet that they only half put in, with LVP in the rest of the cabin. OK, they scheduled that. I drove up, emptied out the cabin at 6:00 AM, got a call saying the installers were on their way but we were the second job and they would not be there till early afternoon... All good, we sat around and waited for them. Got a call at noon saying they never got the material in the warehouse that morning... What? They said it was on the truck and they were on the way? Asked for a manager, hold 10 minutes, disconnected. Has to drive back up to cabin and put all the furniture back into the cabin. Spoke to Josh later in the day and he said, and I quote..."Yeah, I lied about the flooring not arriving, it actually made it on the truck, but they broke down and I was trying to scramble to get another installer to pick up the job... Sorry man, I was just trying to help you".
Later the next day Amanda told me that it was not a broken down truck, but the installer just did not have time to do the job after the other jobs he had. Keep in mind, the people who are coming to your home are not Empire employees, they are non employees who are hired out depending on the volume they have any particular day. Of the 6 hard workers who have shown up so far only one was able to converse in English. Good workers, just all Spanish speakers which added to the difficulty of having them explain why they only showed up with half of the carpet and why they showed up at 7:00 at night to start the job. Amazing, I was blatantly lied to and I still don't have the most recent flooring job even started. They called and said they would knock off a hundred bucks for my trouble and was their last offer.
They make you sign an arbitration clause so you can't take them to court so I am investigating my legal options. I have never in my life posted a review online or otherwise, just wanted to warn folks off this company. This company is in turmoil and heading downhill. They deliver the worst customer experience I have ever been through and if you are thinking of using them don't walk away... RUN!

Was worn in the high traffic areas. It seems impossible carpeting could be worn by two old people in that length of time.

Wife ordered tile for Empire Today salesperson. Tile delivered for installation. The product had the same name as the product ordered. I did not see the tile sample that was ordered. Wife was at work. Tile is installed, wife come home and lets out a loud shriek. Wrong color. She immediately call Empire Today and cancels the carpet order. Of course Empire Today said so sorry and charged the finance account the full amount for the tile. So we are out some $1,800. Customer service says they will install another tile for $1,150.00. No charge for the material. Of course we are not happy camper with Empire Today. We will cover the tile with another flooring product.
Two rule in dealing with Empire (yes they are imperialistic). Rule 1: Get a large sample of the floor tile, given a mismatch you have exhibit A. Rule 2: Do not give them a pocket to take money from. This includes bank financing, debit or credit cards. Pay when the job is done. If you follow the above rules then you won't be stuck with junk on your floor.
This is not the experience that we want for our customers, and we'll be in touch with you shortly to learn more.

I had the lady come and show us flooring and carpet. She was great and on time, after deciding on floor and carpet was 9000$. Today they come to put flooring in, they could not speak English, were late and since floor is not level they can not do it! So unless your house is brand new kinda pointless, homes settle. They told us the rubber molding around the kitchen floor needed to be checked for asbestos and subfloor as well. It was suppose to be laid over the top of the existing floor in the kitchen and remove carpet from dining room, And lay hardwood. They were here for 2 hours. All they did was cut a strip in my dining room carpet.

We had the entire house hardwood floors installed by Empire Today. I had heard that other people were happy with them. I’m happy with the service and with the people who installed the floors. However, the floor tend to scratch easily. If we walk across it with socks on, it’ll scratch. The one thing that I didn’t care for that they did was they advertised this great deal that they’re going to give you 50% off installation on products that you wouldn’t even put in the dog house, never mind in your house. So, it’s just a big come on. Once you do the whole house, you’re stuck. Also, I called them because I wanted to have the windows done in the house. I wanted to have shutters put up. I waited for about two weeks for somebody to get back to me. Then the gentleman said he was very busy and he would call me back. That was two months ago. So, I’m not going back for Empire Today again.

The laminate wood flooring and the vinyl flooring installed by Empire Today got lifetime warranty on them. The laminate was installed in the front living room, the dining room, and the hallway, while the vinyl was installed in the kitchen area. The color is nice. We like it because it matches everything that we’re doing in the house. My wife loves it. It was a pretty good experience.

I have an older house and I had that old white floor with the little pocky holes in it with the dirt wood. I would scrub it with an iron brush but the dirt never came out so it looked like my floor had freckles. I wanted wooden floors for the kitchen and I saw the Empire Today's commercial about half off prices so I called them. Bryan came out and I picked out exactly what I wanted.
It was absolutely stinking hilarious that the installers went to South Hickory Trail instead of South Hickory Road so every time they'd hit North Degree Trail, they thought they were going too far so they kept going back looking for me way down the road. They called and I couldn't understand a word they were saying. I kept telling them to come towards 59, and they finally followed me. They finally got here an hour late.
Ali and Solom were great guys but we had quite the conversation. I was expecting the floors to be one piece, not interlocking, and it took them five hours but they did a great job. They took their lunch in the van because of the fresh air and they came back in. They kept working and they never really stopped or even talked. I watched them and even when they were only a quarter of the way done, I knew I was going to love it. The floor is smooth and pretty, and it matches my cabinets almost perfectly so it looks like a new kitchen. I should have done it years ago. They also did a step-in where you come in from the garage then you step up into the kitchen and then they did a small bathroom also so everything matches and I'm very happy with it.

I had Empire Today install a new carpet and my expectations were met. I had used a different company many years ago for my hardwood floor and I was not happy with them. We have blinds from Empire so I did not even look at other companies. The only thing I was not happy with my recent experience with them was the salesperson. When he came in, he wore shoes on my carpet to measure it. Only the installer put the covers. So, if I hadn’t changed it, that would’ve annoyed me. Other than that, it was a good experience.

Empire Today’s pricing and explanations appealed to me and I had them install hardwood laminates in the living room, dining room and in the hall. The cherry color is my favorite feature but I had a little concern about the opening of the door wherein the part that goes in front of the door kind of raised up. They came out, looked at it, and explained to us that it was normal and that it had to swell. I liked the way they got back to me and how fast they did it.

I appreciate Empire Today's professionalism. I shopped around with Home Depot, Lowe’s, and what people called Flooring Direct or Flooring America. However, I had dealt with Empire before a number of years ago. They did a house full of carpet. I liked the way they did business and I knew I could rely on them. I had them install carpets of two rooms, the hallway and a laminate flooring in the extended living room. I liked the carpet's combination of price and color and the way it went together with what I had already had.

I liked the presentation that Empire Today gave me. Their prices were similar to other brands, but the color of their carpet was a major factor in my going with them. They installed the carpet and padding downstairs and up the stairs. They even gave me the installation date and time that I wanted. But I forgot that I was going to paint and my other carpet still had paint on it, so I told them to put the carpet in after I was done with the painting.
Another good thing about Empire was that the contractor they used to put the carpet in was very efficient and they cleaned up after themselves. So, I was very pleased with the contractor that they used. But what I didn’t like about Empire was that they wanted me to pay even before they had put the carpet in. I was working with contractors and didn't have a problem paying, but I needed to see the work before I completely paid them. For me, that’s the way to do business. If Empire had confidence in their business, then they should be able to say, "Okay, fine. The check is right here." Other than that, everything else was good and I've already recommended them.

I used to do carpet years ago so I looked at Bishops, Armstrong, and different ones, but Empire Today had been around for a while and both my nieces work for them so I went with Empire Today. In terms of the quality, it is up there with the other brands and it should be a good 15-year carpet. We had Empire Today install wood floors in three bedrooms and a hallway on the second floor of our 1,800-square-foot home. The price was good and the engineered wood that we got is holding up very nicely, but the molding or trim that they used to finish up the floor was of poor quality. We spent $1,000 for the new trim to be put on the baseboard. The salesman who came told us that if we wanted a certain kind of trim, we should go and buy it. He made it sound like they were going to take the old trim, but they didn't. The installers pulled all the carpet out and put in the planks of wood, but they left the old trim.
Once the installers had ripped out the carpet, the floor was a lot deeper, and the trim that we picked out and bought was too short. That was partly our fault since we didn’t get the trim measured and we listened to a salesman who did not know what he was talking about when it came to that. We returned what could be returned, but we took a $200 loss on what we couldn’t return. Then we painted the new trim to match. Now we’re telling anyone and everyone who will listen to get a professional to come in and evaluate the trim and anything else that they want to tweak their wood floors with. But the workmen who did the floors were very nice and courteous, cleaned up very well, and did everything they could to make the transaction very smooth.

I needed a carpet installed in a rental property and had the property’s wall all painted before I had Empire lay the carpet in it. However, I had to repaint the walls in every room that they did it because the workers scratched it up when they laid, rolled and cut the carpet. It wouldn't have been so bad if it was at the bottom, but it went from the center of the walls down to the floor and made impressions on it. I was a little discouraged there, I didn't reach back to anybody and just redid it. I wasn't very happy with the experience and I wouldn't go back.

My wife and I have been wanting laminate wood flooring in our house for about 10 years now. I decided this was the year we were going to get the wood floors - just in time for my wife's birthday on the 24th. A guy by the name of Lawrence came out to meet with us. We picked out the laminate we wanted (scratch proof and waterproof) and applied for financing which we were approved for. Lawrence explained that a benefit of going through Empire is that they hire people to work directly for them as opposed to places like Home Depot and Lowe's who sub-contract out projects and you never knowing who you are going to get to do the job. We got "cold feet" at the end because of the total cost of the project.
Approximately 2 days later we had a voicemail from a lady named Lisa who stated that they could come down in price while still giving us the same product we wanted. We were very excited and pleased that they wanted our business enough that they were willing to come down in price. We set an installation date for Saturday, October 14, 2017. The guy did a good job calling us on Friday to confirm our installation and twice this morning letting us know when they would arrive.
From there things went downhill. The guy knocked on our door one time and let himself in. He didn't not introduce himself. He just said he was here to install our floors. Since he did not introduce himself we do not have his name but he appeared to have a Bosnian accent. Less than 5 minutes of being here he announced he couldn't install the floors. The guy said he did not have the proper baseboards (he said they loaded the van with 3 inch baseboards and he needed 8 inch baseboards. He also did not have transitions from the hallway to the living room and the entryway into the living room). He also said he did not have the proper saw to cut the baseboards. I was told that there would be approximately 27 cartons of flooring to do all the areas needed but there were less than 16 in the van.
At this time, I called Lawrence and left a message. While I was waiting for Lawrence to call back the guy with the Bosnian accent told me my house was "built wrong" and it was "** up". (Saying this in regards to our sunken living room.) I could not believe that a man that was in my house to provide a service told me my house was "** up." About 20 minutes later I received a call back from Lawrence and I explained the problem with the baseboards and saws and Lawrence then asked to speak to the Bosnian guy. Once I got back on the phone with Lawrence he asked me if I'd be willing to do the kitchen floor as well since the kitchen flooring also drops down into the sunken living room. I told him that was not what was in our contract and no, we did not have the money to include the kitchen. Lawrence than said we would have to reschedule because it is a "special project" and they will need to send out another team to do it.
He told me that he was going to call the Installation manager (Aaron) and if he couldn't get a hold of him today then he would talk to him on Monday. Lawrence called back 5 minutes later and said that he DID get a hold of Aaron and that Aaron should be calling us right away. This was around 9:30ish and it is now 2 p.m. and we haven't heard anything.
We are hoping Empire makes this right. If what Lawrence said is true about your company hiring people to work directly for you then you need to consider some training for the people you hire. I would never in a million years knock once on someone's door and let myself in and not given a handshake or introduce myself. I MOST certainty not use the word "**" to describe a customer's home. Also, it should have been explained to us that it would have been beneficial to do the kitchen at the same time as the living room prior to signing a contract for the work that was to be done. If in fact our house is "** up" because of a sunken living room then you guys may want to consider not doing business in our neighborhood, Idlewood Acres, because there are many homes in our neighborhood with sunken living rooms.
Also, we were also told by Lawrence that they would be responsible for moving our furniture which was a plus for me as I have recently had knee surgery. Upon receipt of the contract we saw where it said WE are responsible for moving the furniture. Disappointing that the information we received in order to make a decision about going through Empire is different than the wording in the contract.
At this point we are wondering if it had been better to go with Lowe's or Home Depot. We are hoping this gets resolved prior to receiving the first billing statement as I refuse to pay for work that hasn't been completed in my house. The Empire sign is NOT in our front yard as we cannot at this point and time recommend your company to others.
We're disappointed to hear about your installation experience, and assure you that this is not the level of service that we expect for our customers. We'll be in touch with you soon to learn more.
Thank you.

We got a call at 7:30 this morning saying that her carpet was not shipped and they were not going to come today. Now they are telling us that It likely could be 45 days until they can be in our area again.
I am just having a hard time that a company of the size and with their credibility that things like this can happen to their customers. I arranged for a babysitter for the weekend for my three children under five. And now I am not sure what to do As their rooms are empty with exposed nail strips. All of our furniture is in our living room. I am just so upset by this and the way it has been handled. And quite honestly have a hard time believing the story that they told me. I got the whole upstairs of my place carpeted by Empire Today. I also consider Home Depot, however, because of my time factor, I went with Empire. I like Home Depot's the pricing, as well as the other things, better. When I called Empire, they quoted me almost more than double for the same type of carpet. If I didn't have the quote from Home Depot, I would not have known the actual price. Empire's pricing was too inflated. Since I had the comparison quote, the salesman quoted me $500 more than what Home Depot quoted. That's half the price of the original quote. The way they estimate and the way they agree to the same product is unbelievable, but I still went with them since my tenant was waiting. The installation went fine, and aside from the estimation process, everything was perfect.

Made numerous calls and no call back, finally talked to someone on Oct. 5 2017 to hear that my carpeting could not be fixed that I could have my carpet replace and since my carpet was discontinued I would have to select the new carpet. Was told a rep would be at my home Oct 10 2017 to select carpet. Well to no surprise no one showed, called later in the day and was told I would get a call back. No call, called again today. Finally talked to someone. They couldn't tell me why no one showed but would have taken care of by Friday which is October 13. Was told I would get called back. Guess what? No call... Very disappointed and considering never doing business with Empire again.

I had laminate flooring done in my home. I called Lumber Liquidators but Empire Today called us back right away and we got a better quote from them. We love the quality of work that Empire did and the flooring really looks pretty. I like that they put a quarter round around it, on the outside, and that looks really good like that. They really did a wonderful job, and the guys were really fast and were really gentle in moving my furniture around.

I had carpeting, luxury tile and linoleum installed by Empire Today. They worked on our living room, bathroom and an entry. I like their warranty and the price that the other brands couldn’t touch when compared to. Also, the items were wonderful and the colors were fabulous. I love my carpeting as well. However, I had an issue with the workmanship that was put in the bathroom. The gentleman who came at 7:30 at night was overworked and when he did the bathroom, some of the tiles had spaces in them. For a small bathroom at $730, they could've done a better job and I'm not happy with the finish the longer I look at it.
In addition to that, he was a day late when he got here. I had the automatic call that said I was on schedule for that day, but I felt like I was held hostage because there were no phone calls to say that no one would be here. So, that was set up for three days because they said installation would be done by a different person. It was one of the things that they need to work on. On the other hand, they were good at contacting the customers.

Empire Today is proactive, flexible and very customer service-oriented. Everybody was accommodating and nice. To come out and get a quote from them was super easy and they were very competitive on the pricing. We had them install the premium vinyl flooring on the main floor and upstairs. But as far as the quality, there was a bit of a misunderstanding between what my expectations were and what they were able to deliver.
When they gave us the quote, the salesperson did not have the necessary wood that needed to be in addition to the carpet in order to have the floor flushed with the trim. We needed to have a half-inch trim to go around downstairs because obviously the floor was too low and there was a gap between the trim and the flooring. Either there was a miscommunication or the pricing did not include the wood in order to be added once the carpet was removed. But Empire Today brought the installers to put the half-inch round trim in order to solve the issue. It's not perfect because that’s not what I envisioned when I first signed the deal, nevertheless, it worked out. They did it perfectly upstairs though. Overall, the look and the feel of the wood were perfect. So, we really like the style that they were able to provide.

Empire had put down hardwood floors and carpeting in our house a couple of years ago, and I went back to them. I called them and when their representative came out, I showed her what I had down. My husband wanted the hardwood floors before he passed away, but I can’t stand them, so I wanted Empire to be able to cover it and to match the carpet as well as they could. The rep was very helpful and she made telephone calls to the people that she needed to find out if they still have the same carpet.
And this time, which was the fourth time we’ve had Empire do something in our homes, they put carpet in my living room and hallway. I like its color, and it matches what’s in the rest of my house. The people that did the work are very conscientious. They had accidentally covered a couple of outlets on my floor, but they were very helpful and they came back out. They found them and made sure they’re visible for me to use, so I appreciated it.

Hardwood Floor Installation - This is our 3rd purchase with Empire Today. To say it has been frustrating is an understatement!! We ordered the floor on September 4th, an installation date was set for Sept 19th. On Sept 19th we called to find out where the installers were, no one showed up. Customer Service told us that the floor had not come in. I called the salesperson and was told the floor was in and install would begin on Sept 20th. The installers came and were paid in full. On the second day of install we were told that they did not have all the material and could NOT complete the job. The stairs and 1/4 round would be in two weeks. It is almost three weeks and I am getting the biggest jerk around!!
Called two weeks later, Customer Service, because the showrooms have since been closed down, was told that the floor was in and an appointment was set for Saturday - would receive a call between 7-8 am to let us know when the installer would be there. At 8:00 Saturday morning received a call stating that the flooring was not in and they were cancelling the appointment. Called Cust Service that afternoon, they tried to get in touch with the warehouse but they were closed, was told that I would receive a call from the warehouse Monday.
Monday I received no call. Called Cust Service again, asked to speak with supervisor. Was told that part of the order was in but they forgot to order the 1/4 round. Was told I would receive a call on Tuesday again from the warehouse. On Tuesday I did not receive a callback, I called the warehouse and left a message but still received no callback. When I called Cust Service on Tuesday was told they could not get through to the warehouse but it did look like the 1/4 round was ordered. I was told that "Kim" would call me back that day but of course no call - today is Wednesday and still no phone call. Needless to say this is a nightmare, we are very dissatisfied.
We understand that this delay has been frustrating, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. We'll be in contact with you shortly to address your concerns.

I wanted to get a new carpet because the one I had was almost 20 years old, and I wanted it done quickly. I called other companies, but I like the salesman from Empire Today. He’s a nice guy. He came down and explained everything. It took over a month to put the carpet in my upstairs living, but it’s not the company’s fault. The first time that the carpet was to be installed, it was raining and Empire Today told me they had to put a lot of things outside. And this happened twice.
When the installer came, I was surprised because Empire Today sent a guy alone and it’s a big job for one person. I had to help him move the couch and TV around and bring the carpet in. The installer did a good job though. I like the carpet too. It looks good and it’s easy to clean. I vacuum it every day. However, I noticed around eight black spots on it. It almost looks like the carpet is defective because the carpet’s brown like tweed and the spots look like dirt. When we checked the spots, they’re nothing, and so, that didn’t bother me.

We see Empire's ads on TV all the time and their product looked really nice and it seemed that their service was good. We had them install carpeting in our home in Warren, Ohio. The young man who came out, Josh, was very nice and he sold the deal. He was very professional and knew what he was talking about, and I felt good doing the sale with him.
The installers knew what they were doing and they were very good. It was a long experience because we had a little home, and the hallway, the stairs, the little landing, and the three bedrooms needed to be done. And because of it being a small home, the rooms are not that large. They had to do a lot of transferring back and forth. I had everything boxed up and moved pretty much, but they still had the furniture to move from room to room. So it took some time but they did a good job. They got here around 3 pm and they worked straight through, and then they left around 8:00 pm. We’re very happy with our flooring.

The sales person did not include the following in the contract. Dimensions, material for sub flooring, estimate for sub floor. Had to put 25$ down to save my spot. Not knowingly I had signed contract for this. Did not get money back yet. Had only 3 days to cancel contract, had to pay additional 25$ for next day deliver to Their legal dept and confirmation of delivery. When I reached out to agent, he didn't get back to me till I had only 1 day left. Was grateful they got letter. He was not willing to include, estimate for sub floor, even if it was worst case scenario, or give materials, and dimensions, unless I signed a new contract.
Note that in contract is for agreeing not to take them to legal court, but a court of arbitration. A company should be willing to compromise and not say sign contract or we go our separate ways, without giving someone an estimate on the whole project. Company should be willing to have a contract that outlines worst case scenario amount, and should be willing to not have contract wording be for aberration, to only save face. If I’m putting in effort and understanding and willing to meet half way, then meet me half way. Not your way or no way. Also would be nice to be given more time to cancel contract (ex) 1 week, so there's time to go over the issues like I stated above.

The next day I went online to find out if you set it up online you could get a $200.00 discount for booking online and found an appointment much sooner so I booked that one which was for 10/9/2017 between 9-11pm. When no one showed I called and they said "well you have one for the 13th" and I told her, "no I made a new one" and she said, "Oh I am so sorry." So she advised she could get me in today again for the hours of 7pm to 9pm so I agreed and she told me she would give me a credit of an additional $50.00 for the mistake. So again I waited only to get an email that someone would be here between 5-7pm and no show then said another appointment will be 7 to 9pm which I called at 8pm only for them to tell me they redid the appointment for Oct 23rd now and I told them to take me off the list.
They do not call to notify you and then think that after four times already I would ever want to do business with such a shady company and then I read all the complaints and will seek help from a good company that is right here in Naples that will show up and match and do better than Empire Today. So I feel sorry for the old people you have ripped off but you picked the wrong one this time and my time is valuable so therefore I should send you a bill for my time and if you got that more often and had to pay I bet you would not treat customers with such neglect. I needed something that I could mop and scrub up and we had Empire Today put the vinyl plank floor down. The guys that came out were really nice but the price was so high that I had to cancel. They asked how much I'd be able to do it and I gave them a price of $5,000.
After talking with a district manager, they counter offered with $6,000 and since they went down that much, I took it. They did the flooring and they were awesome. Empire Today was very pleasant and easy to work with. However, I have six spots on the floor that need to be repaired. It went fine, although the guys who came, I asked them to put the furniture into the dining room and they didn’t do it. And they quickly put my table into the pantry and it’s a tiled table and I didn’t realize until afterwards that they cracked it. So, I wasn’t very happy about that either. Then, instead of the flooring that I picked out, they put another flooring down. I didn’t notice it until it was already down. I told them about it and the person who came and showed it to me told me to go to the people who mediate such complaints. But I decided that I wouldn’t do that because I wasn’t unhappy with the floor that they put down. I called and complained and I told them already that it wasn’t the pattern that I picked out.
The person who came to show me the samples was quite nice, and I talked to him later and he said that what I had chosen was the information that he gave them. And he was quite nice about it and I liked him. They put it down quite nicely, and the guys who came did a good job. The colors were right, but the pattern was not the same. I love the color and that they were able to come out the next day, unlike with Smart Carpet that I had to wait for weeks before they could do the job. I also love the guys who came out and put it in. But I didn't like the rep at all. I paid pretty bucks for the Wynn’s Coating in my kitchen that I didn’t want it damaged but the rep didn’t tell me that they'd have to rip all the molding that was done to get that flooring. Also, she didn't even tell me that I needed a separate floor put down because the house was basically brand new. She could've told me and it would've been paid for an extra money. They got here first thing in the morning and the rep didn’t leave until about 6:00 at night.
The installers are coming back next week since the laminate was bulking which I was not happy about given what I paid for it. Other than that, the Empire Today carpet is more cushiony compared to the Smart Carpet that I have, and the loops are so small that my new dog likes to pull it up and down. Also, I clean a lot easier now with the carpets in the kitchen and the living room floors.

I have exclusively used Empire Today over the last 10 years. I had a rug and vinyl click flooring installed and everything has met my expectations. The installers were fantastic like they've always been and they have always been on time too. When they told me they were going to arrive at 9:00, they arrived at 9:00. However, I got dropped twice when I was scheduling. And each time, I had to take a day off of work at my job that pays the bills. On the second time, I didn't get a phone call until 3:00 that afternoon that nobody was going to make it. I lost three days from work. I expected to give them one but I lost two extra days and I should be compensated for that.
Apparently their scheduling process sounds like it's totally out of control. They have no idea of what they're doing anymore. I learned this also from the installers who told me, "Yeah, everything is in chaos." The problem is with the scheduling the contract between Empire and me as a customer. They gave me expectations that I have to meet for them to do the job. I fulfilled those obligations but they didn't. And that cost me $600 out of my pocket because of Empire's inability to perform up to their end of the contract.
I let them know that and when I last talked to the guy in Seattle, I said I wanted to talk to somebody higher than him. And then I got a call two weeks later from somebody who works for Empire, I explained the situation to him and he said, "I'll make note of that but you have to understand you're probably not gonna get a phone call from anybody because nobody cares." It's been over a month and I have never been contacted by a higher level manager to resolve my problems. I don't know what has gone wrong with the company.

We are really happy with the product. They were efficient and professional. The experience was great. Also, they are coming out and doing a quote for my regular house now.

We got the luxury vinyl plank from Empire through the whole house. I like the color, the durability of the waterproof and scratch proof feature. It’s just something that we don't have to worry about in the long run. But it took five times for them to come out to fix it, so I had a big deal with that. When they first installed it, the guys were supposed to be here two days and they tried to get it done in a day. So we had to sit outside until nine o'clock at night because they were still here working. My understanding was that they're supposed to be done before 6:00. The whole house was torn apart and I had to put everything back together. We have a little boy, so I had to get his room put back together. Late at night, he was sleeping in the car. We weren't planning on them doing the whole house, so I moved certain stuff out of certain rooms that they were going to do first.
Also, I noticed that they left something under the floor of our bedroom. It was a hump in two spots, so I told them to get that corrected. They came out and I wasn't home, my wife was. They told her that there was nothing under the floor. We had hardwood floors under this floor, so the floor is perfectly smooth before. But they left, so I called them back. They came back and I wasn't here again. My mother-in-law was here, but I've marked it with tape where the spots were. So they took them up and then they cut the locking mechanisms off of the planks, and they glued it into place and it was raised up and there was glue all over the floor when I got home.
That one won't work, so I called them back again, and they came back out again. I was here that day. I asked them if they got it right and they said yes but to not move the furniture. He had the furniture conveniently over what he fixed, so I couldn't see it. The next day, I moved the furniture, same crap. So I called them again and told them I want to talk to the district manager. I missed work two times from this crap. A guy was supposed to come out on a Tuesday to look at it, so I took off work but he never showed up. He missed my job and went to another job on accident. I called and finally got it with somebody and then they said that they would be here first thing the next day.
Then, they came back out and the guy looked at it and left, so I was confused. This is not an old floor. It's a new floor and I wanted it done like it's reasonably supposed to be done. I then had to wait another week for them to come back out to fix it. The guy told me on the phone that he’ll glue it back down. So, I said no and that if they glue it back down, I'm going to call them back. They can either do it like I told them to or I'm just going to have to call again and get somebody to come and fix it. So he took the floor up like I told him and fixed it right. I was disappointed that I even dealt with Empire and have them to go through all that. Also, nobody called me back to try to reimburse for some of the time lost. I bought $5,400 worth of flooring from them, so I expected a little bit more customer service. They were in such a hurry that they messed it up.
We never want our customers to feel this way, and we'll be further investigating your concerns.

We got our floors about a month ago and I am so disgusted. I don't normally post too many negative reviews, but we have been getting the runaround with this company for as long as we have had the floors. We had two segments done. Laminate throughout the house and tile in the bathroom. It took almost a month to get the crew out here to do the tile, but in the end it looks awesome. The problem is with the laminate. The crew took a four day job and turned it into a 2 1/2 week job. They were so far behind schedule that they slammed the last part of the floor in and now the strip are all rising at the seams. We understand the idea of a floating floor, but the floor is so bad that when you walk on it EVERY step is a horrible squeaking noise and pinches the bottom of your feet. The raised spots are so obvious that people have commented upon entering our house for the first time.
We called Empire and asked for a different person to come out and check it and they sent the guy who did it. Of course he said there was nothing wrong, but it was our fault. We have spoken to so many reps at Empire and they just keep saying someone will call in 24 hours, but no one calls. We spent $12000+ on our new floors and they are terrible and Empire doesn't seem to give a crap. On the plus side, our salesman, Brandon, was awesome. He answered all our questions and made us believe we had made the right decision. Too bad Empire doesn't respect or stand behind their sales team.
We're disappointed to know that you are not satisfied with your laminate installation. We'll be following up with you soon to discuss next steps.
Thank you for your patience.

The Empire Today salesman was fair on the different levels of quality that you could pick and the price you pay for those things. I thought the quality was good and that the half price was really hard to beat. We had two products installed by Empire Today, hardwoods in our living room and the carpets in the family room and the upstairs bedroom. It took them a really long time to do the carpeting with two guys. It was a nine-hour workday but they did really good.
We already had some hardwoods in some of the downstairs rooms and the new stuff matched up almost perfectly. You can’t really tell that it’s been installed two different times. I was also really pleased with the guarantee that they offered on the carpet. Plus, it had features like the stain resistance and the child-proofing for allergies. We live in a family home with lots of bedrooms and we're going to sell it to a family with kids probably so I thought that was a really good feature. Empire Today was great to work with and I got good value for my money. I have already told everybody I knew about them and once I brought it up, other people started saying they used Empire and liked it too.

This is my first time ever leaving a review on any business. I am completely disappointed in Empire's professionalism and am appalled at their bait and switch tactics. When we ordered carpet we were shown multiple styles and "qualities" of carpet. We decided on the best quality of carpet from the samples we were shown. When the installers showed up (a day late mind you) you are required to sign off on the carpet in the truck before they install it. Fortunately we made the salesman leave us the sample carpet board when we agreed to purchase. To our surprise the carpet they were going to install was the right color but was absolutely a lesser grade/thickness of carpet. We then spent the next hour trying to speak to anyone from Empire Carpet which was a complete runaround.
Finally we spoke to a rude woman who proceeded to tell me we were wrong and basically didn't know what we were talking about (even though she was there to see the two carpets). We proceeded to cancel our order and then went to three different carpet stores and showed them the two samples and they all agreed that they two carpets were absolutely different grades of carpet. Then to add insult to injury we went to Lowe's and found almost the exact same carpet (different name) and it was $2,000+ cheaper and included a much better padding than what Empire was going to install. Buyer Beware... bait and switch.
We understand that this has been a frustrating experience for you and we'll be in touch with you shortly to discuss your experience.

We went to Lowe’s and the sales rep didn’t act like she was interested waiting on us, so we just got mad and left. I previously used Empire Today and it was great. They moved out the furniture and they put it back. They had done a good job. Recently, I had them install carpeting in the living room and the dining room. The girl come and measured the rug. I picked out the one that I thought was right and then when I got it it seemed like it was really light. I thought it had a yellow in it, but it didn't. But it’s my fault. I should’ve checked it when they brought it in, but I didn’t. I would have liked the darker color, but that’s fine.
However, there's something wrong with what they did and I don’t know what it is. It looks fine up against the wall, but right as you go in my doorway into the bedrooms, it's got that wrinkle in it. I called them and they come out and got the wrinkle out. They had to cut some of the rug off because it didn’t fit. They said they didn’t leave too much rug on to go up under the base floor and it looked real good when they got it done, but now the wrinkle is coming back in again. I can't have that wrinkle in the rug because he’s disabled and so am I. But they made good on the rug. They were very nice and tried to do everything right.

We looked at a lot of other brands and Empire Today's package deal seemed like a good value. Our saleslady was really nice so we looked at all her samples, talked it over, thought it was a good deal, and went with it. We got our contract immediately but it took a long time for us to complete the installation. She contacted us again to redo the contract because it has expired. We got the flooring, carpet and linoleum. We had the engineered hardwood installed in two rooms, and they did a good job. I like all the features of the flooring. It seems sturdy that it'll probably last for a long time. The color is also pretty. It's really hard to clean though, but I like the hardwood.
The last portion of our order was the carpeting and I'm so not happy about that. I called our saleslady and she told us to call the 1-800 Empire line. We had to move everything that we can move and we're old people so it was hard to do so. We have this enormous bed and I didn’t know how to take it apart. I figured they could move it. We did everything that we could do. However, the installers told my husband they were not going to put the carpet in our bedroom because of a headboard with two cupboards on each side and it is huge. We were here and we could’ve helped them move it. My husband asked them to install the carpet and they said that they will put the carpet and cut around the cupboards.
So my husband knew about and he was afraid to tell me. I found what they did when I was cleaning after they left. I can see it when I vacuum. If they only moved the furniture even a few feet and then piece the carpet together and put it back, it would have been better than what they did. There were also cut marks all around these cupboards. It's the worst. Now when I get a new headboard, I have these two holes in the carpet that are about at least three feet by two and a half feet, two of them on each side of where the only place the bed can go. They left us with a piece of carpet that will not fill these holes so I'm pissed. I emailed our saleslady and she said to call it in.
When we get a new furniture or sell our house and move, I have to buy a new carpet for that room and it won't match the other carpet. It would be the worst thing. They didn’t even know they did that. For that reason, I won't ever buy anything from Empire Today again. I didn’t know about it or I wouldn't have signed off on their paper. I gave them good marks. They did a fine job of the installation in our living room. We have about 14 steps and they did those perfectly. Then our bedroom is fine except for that part, which totally ruined it.
This is not the experience we expect for our customers, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. We will be in touch with you shortly to further discuss this matter.

I am a repeat Empire Today customer. My first time was fabulous so I thought I would try them again. This time around, I had carpet installed in my bedroom and my game room downstairs. I paid them when they were done. When I walked in my bedroom, I saw that all the carpet around my radiator was standing up and was not cut properly, and there were spaces in between. The carpet itself is nice, but its installation was not. The younger installer was who did my bedroom. He tried, but I don’t think he was experienced enough to do the radiators. But, the older gentleman who came seemed to know what he was doing and I liked him.
I then called Empire Today and they called me four times and set up an appointment. Three times, they called and canceled and on the fourth time, they didn’t even show up. They didn’t give me the courtesy of a phone call either. I'll pay someone else to come in and fix the bedroom. I don’t want to deal with Empire Today anymore. I have scheduled for the job to be finished 4 times, and the installers have failed to show up all 4 times. I've spoken to two different managers, who are very apologetic and seem sincere, yet the job is still not finished. My wife or myself have missed 4 days of work so we could be here when installers come to work. Even with supposed 1/2 price deals, this job has become immensely expensive because of lost work. I am a repeat customer with Empire however in the past I was classified as a consumer and only paid a deposit for the carpet with a balance due when it was installed. This time I used them for my rental property where I am classified as a commercial customer and was required to pay them 100% in full at the time of order. Since I paid 100% upfront they have no sense of urgency to install the carpet and I have been waiting for over a month now to get the carpet installed and they have a ton of reasons why they are not able to install from the scheduling was inaccurate in their computer to the carpet did not show up on their truck and so on. I have tried to call the main office several times and no one there will answer the phone or call me back, I only reach subcontracted call center employees that have nothing to do with the company directly.
I find their business ethics to be lacking and their customer service to be horrible. I am going to Home Depot and using them for my carpet purchase and installation and it is far more smooth of a process than Empire. This is my last time I will ever use or recommend Empire for anything. They are clearly a bunch of shysters that only employ subcontractors for everything that they do and as such there is no accountability for what they do.

However, I have a couple of small dogs and one of them peed in one place on the floor. My wife was away and I didn’t catch it. It sat there for a day or two before I figured it out and when I found it, the laminate flooring where the spot was had already curled up at the very top of the design.
When I called Empire about it, they said urine would ruin the flooring and no flooring would put up to that. But if I had known that, I wouldn’t put it in the bathroom and I wouldn't even buy it. I could have gone with a real wood or a real tile. It was so sad and too bad but if I want them to fix it, they would charge me for it. That was their attitude. Their rep was also very businesslike on the phone and said they didn’t do that. Not a lot of them would stand down for that and that's the one thing I wasn’t impressed with. So, I just threw their carpet underneath the dining room table. On the other hand, their installation guys were fine.

The sales rep gave me a quote of $4500 and I said it was way too much and because I said no, he cut the price in half so we had the half deal in the end. I had Empire Today install carpets and carpet pads in my bedroom and bedroom closet. At first, I went to Carpet Giant, but I thought they were high. I then called Empire, and they came and did a bigger section of the house. Then, I had them come back and do another bedroom and the master bedroom closet. They took half an hour to finish. Finally, I had them come to do the carpet in the last bedroom, which didn't go as well as the first two.
They called at 8:05 and said they'd be here in the next hour and a half to two hours. However, they showed up at 10:25. One of them gets out and decides to sit there in the street to smoke and talk on his phone. Then they come in here and said they can't do it because of the safe. I talked to the salesman and got the safe under control. I moved it to one side of the room using PVC. I jacked it up on PVC and cut the carpet pad out and had the safe against the wall to where they could lay carpet up to the safe. I could then roll it on PVC to the side of the room with carpet.
They came in and started, but then had an issue with the seam at the hall door to the bedroom. I then moved the safe to the other side of the carpet. Then, they finished the other quarter of the room where the safe was. When they were doing the bedroom closet, they lifted the paper out to seam, however, when they started stretching the carpet, they didn't lift the paper out to the wall enough and pulled the seam apart at the closet's door. They had to rip it up and move the carpet over. Luckily, they hadn't cut it to the wall on the other side and there was enough to pull it back and still cover. Prior to that, I went outside to smoke and they told me they used some of my old pad because they didn't have enough pad. I told them I called to get a new carpet and new pad. I'm not supposed to be using an old padding. The installer told me that he didn't know they didn't get enough and they blame it on me calling the salesman.
I didn't pay them to have my old stuff used, and it's supposed to be pet-resistant padding. They then found several pieces to put in the closet. After they pieced the pad together, they pulled it up and redid the joint of the doorway. It was fine after that. Then when the time came to pay, I gave them my credit card, but they didn't know how to process it. So they called somebody and eventually managed to get it through. It was a screwed up mess. The first two jobs were fine, but I wouldn't recommend them after the third one.

I recently had Empire Today install carpeting in three rooms. I had used them before and they stuck out in my mind, and my previous purchase was delivered the next day. The salesperson who came was very professional and nice. This time, though, there was a two-week delay because the carpet had to be ordered and it wasn't delivered until August 1st. But I’m used to things happening. The delay didn’t bother me at first because I had to clear three rooms of things that would interfere with the installers putting the carpet down. The installers would move the furniture pieces, but everything on them needed to be boxed up. So, Empire gave me time to send their people over here to box things up and get them out of the way. They were nice and did a good job of moving the furniture. But after that was done, the carpet wasn't delivered till after another week or so. I’ll be 87 next month, so I’m used to things happening.
After the installation, I noticed in my bedroom that the stick where things were hung onto was out in the open and could be seen, while in the computer room everything was tucked out of sight. About a week after the carpeting was installed, my daughter came by. She's my go-to person for my computer and takes care of technical things for me. She found that the cords were tangled up together behind the computer stand. It took her about 10 minutes to get them untangled, then she said that the installers had cut out the wire to my speaker. So now I have a desktop computer with no sound. I had signed up for Spanish lessons and I had to hear the sound, but I couldn't.
I had the card of one of the two guys that installed the carpeting but I couldn’t find it. But I told somebody at Empire informally about what had happened. My old monitor has been out for some time and my daughter picked up a new one for me at Costco and brought it home. She found out that the new monitor had no sound and needed a stereo speaker. I called Empire and reported the issue to them. So, they're acting on it and they’ll be sending a contractor out here next week, between 9 and 12, to look and see what happened, and to check the speaker and the cords. It’s not a big issue, though, and Empire can just replace my speaker with any kind of speaker so I can hear the sound.
Nevertheless, I like the new carpet that I got and its color. The carpet is fine and I'm satisfied with it, although I can’t sit and roll my walker on it as easily as I used to with my old carpet. I also got a better grade of padding this time, which is new and cleans fine. I had a good experience with Empire Today and they made it nice and neat in the den, but I wish they had done that in my bedroom as well.

I like the color and the quality of the carpet. I just need them to come back because the downstairs area where the last stair is, it looks a little tacky and it's coming up. Aside from TV commercials, one of my neighbors recently got a new carpet and suggested I should consider Empire Today. It was highly recommended that she had a good deal on the cost. Also, our first choice is always an American company before a foreign one. I'm satisfied with all the products that I got. The laminated wood flooring is beautiful. I switched up my carpet which I had in the living room and dining room. The flooring makes my room look like it's flowing better, bigger and beautiful. The wood looks like real wood but it isn't. We also had tile put in the kitchen and we had carpet put in in the family room and the stairwell going upstairs.
The last service was the carpet and there was a miscommunication because the contractor did not show up on the day that they said that they were going to. We weren't happy with that because we had taken off work and lost money for doing it. We didn't like what they told us why they didn't show up. It didn't sound right for myself and my husband so we complained about it. They came that week but still, we had to take off another day because they didn't show up.
I had to keep calling their office to find out what was going on and where they were. And then to be told at the end that the contractors for carpeting didn't show up that day didn't sound correct. I realized Empire has been around for years even when I was a little girl. They have a good reputation but they will have to back it up. They have to be able to get the odds and cross the things with their communication in their business office and the billing. They haven't straightened out my bills. They promised me adjustment on it and they haven't. We've gotten two bills and we have not seen the discount show up. Their product was still better and people would want to recommend them, but I'm not going to recommend them to anyone until they have satisfied my complaint.

They wanted balance paid prior to installation so I am fortunate it didn't cost me $3,500.
We apologize for your experience, and understand that your order was cancelled. Your refund check was mailed on 10/3/17. For future questions and/or concerns please contact us at customersupport@empire-today.com.

Empire Today installed carpet throughout the house and linoleum on one spot in the kitchen. The installation team was courteous, did what they're supposed to do and cleaned up after themselves. I'm satisfied with the carpet although we were a bit late on the carpet being installed. They said that they had to order the carpet and them not being able to put in the day they were supposed to, that can happen anywhere. They very much met our expectations and I would definitely recommend Empire Today.

I was getting ready to update my flooring at home and looked at places like Home Depot. Empire Today was having a sale so I got them and they did a quick and decent job on the installation. The carpet seems good quality and is a lot better than what I had. The vinyl floor in the kitchen matches my cabinets. However, I have dogs and the wood floor in the dining and living room is hard to keep clean. Yet, everything worked very well and I'm happy.

I had Empire Today install carpet in my living room and dining room. I've used Empire years ago, and I liked the product. Plus the first installation lasted for about 15 years with children and dogs. It's comfortable and I like the style of the carpet. It's expensive, but it's worth it and has met my expectations. However, this time, it took me two months to get my carpet installed, which is much too long. This is a special order though and was never in stock.

The carpet and tiles from Empire Today that were installed in my rental properties are a little bit more expensive compared to other brands but Empire Today is a more convenient choice. But I would most likely not use them again. I manage 50 properties and I could be doing a lot of business with them. But for some odd reason they are not structured for property management type of accounts. I have suggested having my own representative for all the work that I do and the ability to get bills and invoice but they said no. I am very dissatisfied and I will not recommend them. My wife also liked Empire's carpet and I liked the price so we decided to hire them for the job. That lady was really good as far as helping us and she cut the price down a bit. When the people came to put my flooring they were nice and they asked how was the work done. I just had relief two days after I got it but I didn't walk on it because I have a big extension in the back and I was at the back most of the time. But when I started to walk inside I asked myself, “What did I do?" After the upgrade the flooring makes a cracking noise when people walk on it and it's aggravating. It's just a little piece of wood like my fingernail that's in the hardwood, that they said is a hardwood and that's not what I bargained for because my $3,100 is not for that upgrade.
They need to give me back my money or do something about that because if I pay for something I expect to get something. I paid for Quiet Walk with an upgrade and I did not get any upgrade -- I got worst-grade. When they came into my house to see what I got they heard that noise and I saw them take a video of it too but they just walked on my house right back. They said I'm such a fool and that's an insult to me. My husband passed away August and I'm missing him as I have to be the man and the woman in the house. This year I tried to do my best and my best is not good enough because Empire screwed me up. I wouldn't recommend Empire to anybody because of the job they have done. I'm very disappointed.

We have been looking for over a year at different companies and types of flooring to install in our home. We decided on vinyl tile because family had some installed in their home. We decided on Empire because the saleslady was very friendly. That is where the good ends. We were supposed to have a copy of the information we signed on a tablet, emailed to us never received it.
We set up installation for a Tuesday and was told it would take maybe 2 days. Tuesday the installation crew showed up at 11 am, it was raining I get that, they left at 1 because 1 of them had a broken bone in his foot and had to go to the doctor. I am not sure why the other 2 had to leave. Wednesday they showed up after 10 left before 5. Thursday it was 11 and left at 5. Friday it was 2 left at 6 saying they would be back on Saturday to finish up around 2. They didn't show up. They didn't call.
My husband finally got in touch with them around 5. They said they wouldn't be able to come until Monday because they weren't finished with the other job they had scheduled yet. Monday didn't work, I had a doctor's appointment that I had to reschedule from last week, so then it was pushed to Tuesday. On Tuesday I have a hair appointment that I will now have to reschedule for the 2nd time because these people can't get their act together.
Also we were charged for quarter round that wasn't used but I can't prove without the statement that wasn't sent to us and the threshold pieces that were used was leftover pieces from another job. There is no way I would recommend this company to anyone, not even someone I don't like, because I don't dislike ANYONE enough to put them through the hell we have been through.

The installers from Empire Today installed the flooring really fast and easy and finished it within a few days. I like that it's easy to clean up when the animals have accidents. It's a lot easier than trying to get accidents off of a rug. After I get everything fixed up, I simply take a floor cleaner that's got anti-bacteria and scrub the floor. I feel that it's not contaminated anymore. On the other hand, I couldn't find exactly what I wanted so I settled for a color that was a little darker. I had a good experience with them.

I reported it to their customer service and sent an inspector who was also the one who installed the carpet. He took pictures of it and even told me that he will recommend to replace it.
I received a call from Jasmin on my voice mail and immediately called her up but never returned my call. I spoke to another customer service and was told that I have to have my carpet cleaned by a professional carpet cleaner at my expense and then submit a receipt and the report of the carpet cleaner and send a picture. What was the use of sending your inspector? This was the 2nd project in my house that you did and I am feed up and will never recommend this to my friends and to anyone. Suggested to the person who called that sales person not tell a customer that installers will move large items. They are definitely not movers and are concerned only with getting the carpet installed. Had I know the installers were so limited in care, I would have hired individuals to move items prior to their arrival. I am not happy with the piece where carpet ends and tile begins. Scheduled for a new appointment for carpet first time. No one showed up at all. When I called the service management team stated that the salesmen didn't show up for any of their appointments. Rescheduled again the day of visit. Someone called to cancel and reschedule yet again. On the day of the appointment the salesmen did show up and we got ordered placed no problem was a great guy. Day of installation had to call and get previous deposit transferred from first flooring on to second installation. Not a big deal but if I wouldn't of called what would of happened to the deposit?
Then after the flooring was completed their installers refused to take away old carpet that I cut into small pieces for easier transport nicely rolled everything up. The installer stated he wasn't going to take the old carpet because he had more jobs to do and to call empire. Ok I understand but it's in my contract that you would haul away old carpet. Called empire two days ago to figure out a resolution. Was told I should expect a call from someone the following day. Well the following day is here and I called them back customer service had me on hold for 21 minutes to tell me that they haven't got ahold of anyone yet and someone would be in contact with you yet again. Same story. Same load of crap. Very displeased with the issues that I have had from this company. Empire Today did a great job of selling me over priced flooring back in 2008. I knew they were overpriced and the finance options I needed and the biggest seller was and I quote "This laminate flooring is great. It can sit under 6 inches of water for 30 days before it will buckle". That was a flat out lie and the warranty does not cover leaks. Well if your product was so great, it should. My AC unit leaked and the flooring buckled, and quickly. So I get on chat, and find out not covered by warranty, and furthermore, they will not sell me the flooring direct. They have to install it.
REALLY, is that good business practice in this current market? You are forcing me to go with you, and I am sure I will have to take it in the shorts again. How is that fair? How is that right? So yes, of course they get good reviews upfront, they do a good job upfront, they do not do the right thing down the road. The right thing is to sell me the flooring so I can do myself because I don't have the budget otherwise. So not cool and they really need to train their sales staff better to not out and out lie about a product. I know he was a sales guy, but really that big of a lie, come on shame on you!

I called Empire and requested the breakdown, and they said that I needed to get it from my sales rep; which just tells me that the "deal" is different from rep-to-rep, customer-to-customer. I feel totally ripped off. There was an uneven spot on our floor that we never felt before, and instead of telling us about it, the installer installed over it.
Now we have brand new carpet on an uneven floor and can't fix the problem without the major expense of ripping up the carpet, fixing the floor underneath and installing new carpet. I have multiple Empire products in my home (carpet, blinds, even a tub surround) so I called Empire expecting a fair price for good carpet and quality workmanship. I have been left disappointed for the first (and last) time, and that's an understatement.

We ordered carpet from Empire a few months ago. The sales experience was great; lots of choices, differing price points, and felt like we made a good decision. But on the install date, they showed up 2 hours late --- AND THEN WERE AT OUR HOUSE FOR NINE HOURS. They didn't leave until after 11:00 PM. The installers were clearly inexperienced and complained that they had to move furniture (which we had paid for as part of our package). Moving furniture took about 15 minutes total, by the way. Around 8:00 PM I tried calling the sales guy to say they needed to leave and come back as my kids had to go to bed. I couldn't get a hold of him so I told the installers they needed to leave by 9:00 PM. They argued with me and told me that if I didn't let them finish, they would leave the carpet unfinished and wouldn't be able to come back for at least a week. I let them stay because I had already missed a whole day of work.
Eventually they wrapped up and left without cleaning up all the spare bits of carpet fuzz they left all over the house. Last, there was something about the color of the carpet itself that was slightly off from what I remembered. I couldn't be positive, so I sent an email to Empire telling them the color seemed off. The next day the sales guy called me back and I asked for a discount due to the poor service. He hemmed and hawed and about 4 days later I got a call from the regional manager. He said he'd offer me $100 off but that they couldn't do anything more. I was ticked. He wouldn't even talk about the carpet itself not matching what I ordered. Again, I wasn't 100% positive myself. He admitted on the phone that the story the installers told him was completely different than what I told him and he said in all his years there he had never heard of an install taking 9 hours (it was about 1200 square feet total).
Now, three months later it is apparent they installed the wrong carpet. What is supposed to last 15 years has already matted down completely on our stairs and in high traffic areas. Vacuuming it helps, but then it immediately lays back down. We called Empire to do a service call at our house as we wanted them to verify for certain what was actually installed and to figure out why it is matting down so much. Guess what? They just called and said they couldn't make the appointment today!! I've decided it's time to take action since we've done all we can trying to work on this issue locally.

I called yet again on Saturday, Sept 16 and demanded to speak with a supervisor. "Celena" the supervisor told me something very alarming. She claimed that someone by the name of Ms. ** had called and left me messages. What a story! My phone has not rung and there was no message. So she said there was no way for her to reach Ms. ** at that moment but she assured me that someone would be in touch Monday, Sept. 18. At 9:30 pm Monday, Sept 18 I called for the 4th time. Celena was still there and she said according to the note that someone called me and left me a message.
WOW! What kind of game are they playing? This is getting pretty insane now. I have not received any call today or any message from Empire Today. I demanded to speak with someone at the corporate office. She said she was replaying the message to corporate for someone to call me tomorrow. In the meantime, the dishwasher door is getting worse and harder to open. I clearly made a mistake of using Empire Today. It appears that they make the money from the sale and they run. They don't care about fixing their mistakes. They seem to know how to give customers the run-around and not take responsibility. What a reputation!
This is not the experience that we expect for our customers, and assure you that we take this matter seriously. We'll be in contact with you soon to further address this matter.

We heard that Empire Today were good products and the price was reasonable. We’ve had a vinyl flooring and rug from them. We’ve also carpeted the rest of the house. All of the floorings are effective, comfortable to use on bare feet and we haven’t had to do any serious cleaning on it. It was a very good experience.

I had floors installed by Empire Today. We got several bids and theirs was the lowest. The product that we picked was nice and I like the looks of it. We’re very happy with it. I also liked the gentlemen who installed it. They were hard workers and they worked long hours. It was hot when they did the job, but they were very pleasant and they did great. One of the gentlemen, Saul, explained everything they were going to do every day and always cleaned up before they left.

I got some carpets installed by Empire Today in two rooms and in the hallway. Compared to other brands, the cost was a bit different, but overall the products were all similar. However, Empire Today was quick, easy, and professional. They offered me a six-month financing period. The two guys were also some of the best professionals I've had to work with thus far. Being able to enjoy new carpet inside the house now is great but the new flooring has met my expectations to the point where I'm going to probably use Empire Today again after I finish paying this off. In the next seven months, I'm purchasing some hardwood or laminate flooring.

My sales guy was great, and the installers were very pleasant and they did a good job installing the carpet and luxury vinyl plank flooring in the basement and the stairs. Empire Today installed some flooring in our living room, hallway, and kitchen. We considered doing it ourselves but we’re not young anymore, and I liked that Empire today moved everything for us. We always wanted the wood look in the kitchen and the vinyl flooring looked like wood. We also wanted the floor to be waterproof. We had a problem in the kitchen under the cabinet that wasn’t covered when we originally made the plan. I had put gray vinyl edges kick plates under but those things needed to go because they didn’t match the wood at all. I told the installers to give me the three-quarter rounds and I’ll put something else up there after they leave. But they said no since the three-quarter rounds won’t fit and whatever I put up there is going to change the measurements slightly. My husband suggested to cut some of the planks from the floor as kick plates and then put the quarter round up. That’s exactly what they did and it looks great.
I really like the installers, too. Although it wasn't part of their job, they even moved a big chair from the living room to the basement because my husband didn’t want that in the living room anymore. Then I bought a couch that day and we were trying to get it in the front door. They stopped, helped us do that, and they still got done quickly. We're very satisfied with Empire Today and we’ve already recommended them to somebody else.

My wife and I did a little shopping and we settled in with Empire Today for the installation of carpeting at home and for a rental property. It's in the basement staircase of our home and the two bedrooms in the rental property. The quality of the product certainly is everything that we wanted and expected and the quality of the installation was superb in both instances. We're satisfied with the product and I liked the feel of comfort under my foot for both location.
They had two separate installation crews. The guy who did the staircase was one gentleman and he was excellent while the crew was superb in the second installation for the two bedrooms. I was very impressed with the quality and craftsmanship and I would definitely refer Empire. Overall, our experience was professional and everything went well. There was only one glitch when I tried to use a business credit card and for some reason, the rep had a problem processing it. I've used that particular credit card for all of my purchases and I've never had a problem with it. Empire was the first time I ever had a problem getting it processed.

Empire Today installed laminate flooring in the hallway of our home. It was much better than what I had before and it met my expectations. Their installation team was always great. Sometimes their English isn't as good as it could be but we get through it. But the customer service rep got confused. When the installers were waiting to do the job I was quoted a certain price and somehow they had $200 more on the invoice and that wasn't right. So the installers had to stand in the driveway and wait for customer service to get their acts together before they could start working. It was delayed by about two hours but it wasn't the installer's fault. The installers are just really humble and hard working people. They're all fabulous.

For the quality and the cost, Empire Today was superior to the other places that I looked at. The carpet I got from them has a 15-year warranty, and better quality and price, compared to the other one, from another company, that had a 10-year warranty. I wish I could've chosen a darker color but there wasn't that color there. But I like the idea that it’s stain resistant and how well it’s treated, which most of the carpet is but I’m loving it. It brightened up my house compared to what I had in there before.
And I feel the carpet salesman was nice. I had a couple of problems and I was able to call him and get those resolved right away without having to wait. So, I like that aspect of having access to him and he'll answer. And he’s given me everything that I needed at the end and I didn’t have to wait for him. But everybody who came was professional. They have to move everything and they put the carpet down in the old house. They do everything and nothing broke out. I would recommend Empire Today.

The problem with my laminate flooring was fixed on 10/3/17, with the exception on 3 bolts that were not screwed back on to my railing. My husband ended up putting them back himself, it would have been nice if the empire guys had done it after installing the laminate floor. I am happy my floors are fixed, it took longer than what I expected and a lot more of my follow-up it would be nice that Empire follows up with their customers more instead of relying on their contractors feed back. I had laminate flooring installed in my home on July. I noticed a couple of days later the hallway, the entrance and the floor going to my daughter's room all had deep scratches on the laminate. I couldn't believe it. I just had the NEW floor installed! I called Empire right away, told them the issue along with some other issues I had. I asked them to send a different installer to check the work out and get a second opinion. Empire ended up sending the same guys. They were very nice, but I specifically asked Empire I wanted a different person to come.
Today someone was scheduled to come and finally they sent someone else to check out the second problem I had which was a NAIL came off the middle board that divides the kitchen from the living room and my 7 year old daughter got stabbed on her foot. I am beyond disappoint with Empire and their business. I would not recommend Empire to anyone. Beware, your experience is going to largely depend on who you end up dealing with. We had someone come out and give us an estimate, which was much higher than we expected based on Empire's advertising. When we asked why it was so expensive, we were told that it was because it involved stairways and the shape of the space, and there was no way to do it cheaper. Made the mistake of believing him, and went ahead with the job.
A few weeks later decided to carpet another room, a different person came out. In going through options with him, he mentioned that he was surprised at the quality of carpet we had done for the prior job (which involved a stairs and hallway into an unfinished attic - turns out the reason it was so expensive was the 1st guy sold us the most expensive carpet available and hid the fact there were cheaper options available when asked. To make it worse, we called in a complaint about this, and never heard back. Ultimately, we called them and in short were told since we were unhappy we just shouldn't use them for the 2nd job.

On August 30, 2017 we had carpet laid in our home and it was paid in full when job was complete with check ** dated 8/30/17. The installer called the transaction in on his cell phone for the full amount and left. Everything was good, we were happy with the carpet and payment being made. He did his transaction electronically and returned the check to us saying he didn't need it, it was already handled and paid for on his phone.
Then we received a letter from Certegy Check Services later in September saying the bank returned the check unpaid. The letter states "Through no apparent error on your part, Certegy has been notified by your financial institution that they were unable to process this transaction to your account. They said the possibility was the Routing Number and/or Account number structure."
I called Certegy the next day since they were already closed when we received the letter. When the young lady helping me took the Routing Number and Account number she said, "That's what is wrong, he didn't give the 000 at the beginning of the account number." She thanked me, resubmitted the check and I hung up thinking everything was good.
Then to add insult to injury, yesterday September 15th we received a letter stating that the payment was ok and that "You have authorized Certegy Check Services, Inc to debit a Returned Check Charge of $25.00 from your account in the event the one time debit is returned unpaid by your financial institution." I do not feel we should be responsible for the $25.00 fee since it was not any problem on our part that caused the check to be returned. The installer is the one that did the deposit on the phone and failed to mention the 000 at the beginning of our checking account number that caused the whole mistake.
We want our $25.00 refunded but Empire said we have to deal with Certegy, Certegy has an answering machine that puts you in a never ending loop of choices, none that have to do with what my complaint is. If Certegy is allowed to collect $25.00 for every account they receive, even ones that are not the customers fault they are going to be a very rich bunch of jerks. I understand if there is a customer at fault but EMPIRE is their customer not us! The fault lays with them.

We had Empire do our house flooring when we built it and we were happy with it then, so we kept using them. We hired them again when we had a flood in our basement. Our carpet was fine, but the padding was soaked. So we ripped out our padding, dried our carpet and we had Empire install the padding and put the carpet back down. We also had them put some flooring in our bathroom.
I talked to the sales guy who we worked with years ago but he couldn’t assist us because we weren’t purchasing a flooring. But he got in touch with the customer service and they took care of it. My sales guy told them what we were getting done based on his documents from the initial carpet installation then over the phone, a person in customer service gave me a quote. I asked him if he was sure he got the right space because it doesn’t sound like a lot of money. He confirmed that it's for the basement area that they did back in 2014. He quoted us about $400 but I was expecting it to be about a thousand dollars. I liked the price but I wanted to make sure that they had the right space. I even called my sales guy to make sure of the price. He said that he looked into it and that they were throwing a good price because I was a former customer.
Then, when the installers came, they only had half the material for the padding. They called their supervisor and were asking me for another $500 for them to do the rest of the padding. But I have already confirmed the price multiple times and I wasn’t paying more after they decided to come here. I had to work hard with the customer service on getting it to the price that I agreed with them on. I was frustrated about it because even as a customer I shouldn't even had to do that due diligence of calling and asking, but I did. They had every opportunity before to charge me for it or get this right and I don't know why they didn't have the right amount in their system. So it was a bit of a battle and I don't know where the miscommunication came about.
Because people were moving into our basement, we needed to get our flooring done but we were held up multiple days because I had to go get more material. Then, when they were scheduled to come back, the installers didn't come. We were waiting around for them and we had things to do that day. We also never even got a reason why they weren't coming.
Then, once the installers finished, they didn't install the threshold to match with my office and the bathroom flooring which didn’t make sense. They just said to have the carpeting guys do it when they come. I asked them if the carpet guys will have that material and they replied that they'll have it. But when the carpet guys came, they didn’t have that material to do that threshold. Empire should have had this figured out and it was frustrating. I also had to do all these leg work. After six weeks, we finally got the threshold done but the colors don't match the carpet. It's okay, though and I'm going to live with it.
When we ordered from Empire years ago, we were very satisfied. But this time around, there were too many scenarios that were going on and it wasn't good. Their whole scheduling system wasn’t well-organized either. We got this weird automated call on the day of the installation saying that the installers will be arriving at a certain time, then we got another call from the installers saying that they can’t come at that time. The installers also didn’t come the day that the company told us they were going to come. I understand things come up, but we never even got a reason why they weren't coming as scheduled. As customers, we felt that we just got left. My husband and I will never go back with Empire.

Hurricane Irma happened so they canceled for the 11th. Ok I understand and rescheduled for the next day. The installers came out to the house and after an hour of being at the house said they could not do the job because the floors are too unlevel and told me I needed to get a contractor out to level the floors before they would put down the tile.
I have most of the floors in my house down to the concrete so there was nothing hidden when the salesman was here and we asked him about leveling the floors and he said no problem. I took time to move stuff out of the bedrooms so they could have a place to start instead of doing clean up from Hurricane Irma. I wouldn't even use Empire now even if it was free. Called customers service department and all they could do was cancel and refund my deposit. Now who knows when I will be able to get someone out to do my floors and now it will probably cost me more money because of Hurricane Irma.

I had carpeting installed at my home. It’s for the stairway, three good-sized upstairs bedroom and big hallway. The Empire salesman did a wonderful job and he nailed it. He highly recommended an installer who came in and did a wonderful job as well. He was even gracious. Overall, the Empire's product quality is good and I'm happy about the carpeting.
