Empire Today's price was decent and the salesman was nice. The installation was quick and the carpet they installed in the whole house - both living rooms, four bedrooms, the stairway and hallway - was pretty and has the stain guard. We like Empire Today and we'd recommend them to a friend.

I have been using Empire for four years and have been with them at every house I've been. Recently, I had them install the ebony wood floor in my living room. I chose that floor this time because I liked its look. It's a dark wood that is a little bit shiny. I can also spray non-ammonia glass cleaner and it cleans easily. Overall, everything was smooth and they did a great job. I love it, and my sister will call them in her house and get her floors installed the same way.

I ordered bedroom carpet on 10/31/17. The salesman was nice. I paid the whole thing by personal check. The carpet was to be installed on Nov 3, 2017. We got a phone call stating the carpet was coming in the afternoon but didn’t give a time frame. We waited until 5 pm and my husband called and was told they can’t come because they have a big job and don’t work at night. They rescheduled delivery for Monday morning Nov 6, 2017. We got a phone call this morning Nov 4, 2017 saying the order wasn’t confirmed and won’t be delivered until Tuesday Nov 7, 2017. We told them we needed the carpet before my mother moved into that bedroom which was supposed to be Nov 4, 2017, so I canceled the order and asked for my check to be canceled too. We are very upset because now my mother will be in the room without a new carpet and I have to go to a store now to shop! I thought shopping at home would be convenient but not for me!
We regret to hear that this was your experience, and understand that your order is now cancelled. If you continue to have questions and/or concerns please contact us at customersupport@empire-today.com.

Contacted Empire 2 Times for measurements and estimates... Paid hefty deposit and arranged installation after I stressed the importance of having it complete before very important game and dinner party on Sunday. Agent assured me it was a 1-1/2 day job and the installers may be done on Saturday before 1 pm... I take off work, Installers arrived on Friday with carpet around 10ish in the morning, everything going fine despite me loaning garbage bags and drills for the job. After completing 2 rooms and a hallway I was informed at 8 pm that there was NOT enough carpet to finish the main living area and 2 closets until TUESDAY THE FOLLOWING WEEK! Needless to say I am livid!
I contacted customer service who said a supervisor would reach out in the morning however, after reading these reviews, I doubt it and may be left hosting a party in 2 days with a 1/2 complete carpet job... What makes matters worse is the fact that they made me pay BEFORE they would even take the carpet off the truck! 2 measurements and they still couldn’t get it right! Next time I will follow my gut feeling and go with another company! Should have known better when the girl doing my estimate only seemed to be worried about her commission! I am soooo disappointed right now.
We know that delays can be frustrating, and we apologize for your experience. We'll be in touch with you shortly to further discuss your concerns.

Empire Today came out and talked to me. I had them install linoleum that looks like a wooden floor and I like it. It was installed from the front door to the kitchen but I have an issue where the linoleum has bubbles that keep on popping up when it’s hot but it’s flat when it’s cold. The installation took an extra week because something was underneath my floor and they had to scrape a bunch of glue. The salesman and the guys that laid the floor are all very nice people. I recommend Empire Today and I will use them again for a new carpet.

The carpet installed by Empire Today is stain resistant and anyone who comes in likes it. The installation worked out fine. Everything had glass in it and they moved the things around. I was very pleased with how they installed it. The only thing that I don't like about the carpet is it tracks up. I wanted a loop pile so it wouldn't make tracks when one walks but it does and I can live with that. So far, so good.

We were considering two other companies to install the carpeting in our home’s basement. We wanted a Berber carpet and the other installers didn't even show us any. They only showed us higher end, not exactly what we wanted, carpeting. The bids were very far up, as far as $4,000 difference in price as compared to Empire Today. On the other hand, Empire Today had what I wanted. The installation went fine. They were very quick, except that there was one minor oversight. The installers left my side gate open and my dog escaped for 40 minutes. Minus the dog incident, I am happy with my experience with them.

I called to get an estimate from Empire and I decided to go based on the products that the rep had to offer. She was polite, friendly and knowledgeable about what she was selling. I had carpeting done and we like the product. It's easy to clean as well. It’s a salt and pepper kind of color, so it doesn’t show the dirt. Everything was delivered on the date promised, and we didn’t have any hiccups along the way. Overall, we had a good experience.

I wish I had never gotten involved with this company. From the beginning, poor customer service. The installation is a mess - deals across several of my steps. Now, 2 years later, the carpeting is buckling even in areas with very little traffic. I feel I just threw several thousand dollars down the drain.

We purchased an engineered hardwood and laminate for the kitchen from Empire Today. We looked at another flooring store here in town and we were really pleased with their customer service and how they treated us as clients. Then their price was really ridiculous. It was beyond what we could do. We kind of forgotten about it and then we saw the ad for Empire. The sales person was wonderful and really took time to explain things to us. He showed us lots of different product choices and the cost factor was definitely part of the decision as well.
The install team was wonderful, too. They were very nice to work with. They worked so hard and did an excellent job. They were very careful with things. I was very impressed with how professional they were and they got the whole house all done in two days. The flooring is beautiful and they fit in with our home. We were able to choose something that doesn’t look out of place in an older home. The color is beautiful and I really love the laminate in the kitchen. It’s very easy to take care of. We’ve been really happy and I would recommend Empire Today. We had a very positive experience with them compared with other flooring stores in the area. They were willing to work with us in terms of scheduling and their product looks so natural.

Empire Today carpeted the whole house in the past. Then I had water damage and I had to have the old carpet replaced. I got carpeting from Empire and they installed it in the living room and the dining room. The installers could have been more gentle with the furniture when they moved it but they did a fine job. So far, the new flooring is fine and I'd tell others interested in working with Empire to go for it.

Empire carpet installed $30,000 worth of flooring and windows throughout my home. The multi-paned insulated windows were gas filled. The gas eventually leaked from the windows. The windows are now streaked and discolored. The windows also have mechanical issues and do not operate properly. After calling Empire--I was routed to the manufacturer--Associated Materials of Akron, Ohio. After completing a warranty repair application, receipts, proof of home ownership and other documents along with numerous pictures of the windows--the windows still have not been repaired. Originally contacted Empire and Allied Associates in October 2016. Took a while to obtain all required documentation and submitted application in January 2017. Have also called Associated Materials reps many times. Thanks for your time.
We're sorry to hear about your window treatments. We appreciate you making us aware of this matter, and we'll be in contact with you soon to start working on a resolution.

I had Empire Today install vinyl flooring and carpeting. The crew that did the vinyl flooring was fantastic. We had to get a contractor in here to repair a couple of places on the floor, but they were only scheduled for one day and they didn't get the job done. They had to leave the work unfinished and our furniture was all piled up together. Then the hurricane hit and we were out of power for eight days, so they couldn't do anything then. The installation of the carpeting and the vinyl flooring had to be rescheduled six times. Caesar, the head of the crew, was really good, extremely polite, and very professional. He gave us outstanding service and Empire should send a whole bunch more like him. He came out by himself to finish the installation of the vinyl flooring and he worked until the job was completed. When it was finally done, the vinyl flooring was beautiful and I'm very happy with it.
When the first crew came for the installation of the carpeting, my daughter and I were at a funeral, so my friend Brenda and my son Michael took care of it. But when the crew arrived, they were extremely rude and very condescending. They said that there was no way we were ready for them to lay carpets and they ended up just leaving. The saleslady that came out knew that we were on disability and that all we could move was the knick-knacks, and she said that was fine, so we were surprised by the treatment that we got from the first carpet crew.
The installation of the carpeting was rescheduled. My daughter left a message with Empire, telling them not to send the first crew back out, and the supervisor called us back. Another crew finally came out and did the carpeting. The second crew was aware that we couldn't move the furniture and they moved everything, and afterwards they put everything back in place. The carpeting was beautiful and we're very happy with it, but the whole experience was a nightmare. I was happy with the flooring but disgusted at how long it took to get it done. It was a long-drawn-out experience and it was extremely dreadful having to live for so long with our furniture piled up.
We apologize for your experience, and we'll be following up with you shortly to discuss your concerns.
Thank you.

I got an email with 50% off coupon on selected flooring, so I had Empire Today install some carpeting and some LVT in the hallway upstairs. Empire's customer service has been excellent. The sales representative was very knowledgeable about the product. It seemed like he wanted to work with us on the pricing and he wasn’t long winded which was great, and he was to the point. He brought out just the flooring samples that he thought will work for our house and for us and what we wanted. It was an easy and quick process. I love our new flooring and I like how it looks. I also like the materials, but the installer has not been so great. They didn’t do a few things and they came back, but they cut us a couple work short and they’re now having to come back for the third time.

My mom wanted to get the house cleaned up, finished and sold. So she paid Empire Today the money to have the carpet installed throughout the house and linoleum in the laundry room and kitchen. Their salesperson and installers were good. But we had to pay upfront for the whole job before we even saw the quality of their work. However, when I was there working on the house and looked at the work that they did, it was really nice. Though the pricing may be cheaper elsewhere else, Empire Today was there when we needed it done and it was done on time. Everything looks great and I'd recommend them.

My original contract was not broken down into different orders for the type of work being performed. The process of payments seems not to be a seamless situation. Of course with a change to this order really confused all parties involved with multiple contractors showing up without the correct information or materials and me being charged a lot more than originally quoted. With a call to customer service to no avail of course, I am very dissatisfied with this process. Why do I get three different COD charges for one original order which of course doesn't add up to the original contract? NEVER WILL I USE OR RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE.

They were going to just leave it like that until I told them they can not just pull up my carpet & leave it like that. Yes there was a wee bit of damage to the floor (It is a mobile home 18 1/2 years old..). So they patched the small area of the floor, & put the new floor in. It didn't come all the way to the wall.. I still Have to get some baseboard for the floor to cover the gap between the wall & the floor..

Bad enough that I wasn’t happy with the carpet install, but how I was treated when I expressed my concerns, is what really added insult to injury! The finished install had areas where the carpeting didn’t meet up with the tiles. I could see the edge of the tiles. I mentioned it to the installers and they called their supervisor. Turns out Empire subcontracts, which I was told by their rep that they didn’t. The installers supervisor arrived ready to do battle. I actually said as much to her at one point. She started in with saying that it was the floors, not the installation, her installers did the best they could do. BUT, it was the way she told me that left me more upset. She was a bully. I had to tell her to calm down on more than one occasion, and I told her that her tone was very unprofessional.
She explained everything away, she also mentioned that they didn’t work for Empire, told me that I should’ve done my homework, and added, if I'd dealt with her directly, her company would’ve done things right (like removing sliding doors, running the carpeting under the sliding track, and smoothing the tile mortar on the edges, which she said was causing the visible gaps).
After she finished her lecture, she told me to sign off on the job. I said I didn’t feel comfortable signing without talking to someone from Empire. Then the bullying got worse. She stormed out saying, "And that’s why I came to do battle..." I don’t have to sign, her guys will get paid anyway! Then she paused, and told her installers, since I wasn’t going to sign, they can dump all of my old carpeting onto my driveway! She wasn’t going to haul it away! I told her that it was part of my agreement with Empire. She showed me that it was part of me signing off with them, not Empire. I shook my head and said her behavior was extremely unprofessional, petty, and immature.
She followed me back inside and tried another tactic, explaining that my signing didn’t have anything to do with Empire, I could still complain to them, they had a guarantee, they would fix the problem... so, not her problem, they did their job, I needed to sign. So, with the fear of six rooms of old carpeting left behind, looming over my head, I signed, under duress, just to get it over with, hoping that I could sort things with Empire. No such luck. A supervisor from Empire came out later (after speaking with her) and basically repeated the same thing she said. It felt like they had each other’s back... and my client’s money.
For the record, I’ve flipped and organized the remodeling of a lot of homes. I’ve used Home Depot, Lowes, and Carpet World. It’s the first time I’ve used Empire, and it’s the FIRST time I’ve had this problem with a carpeting install. Yet, I’m supposed to believe it’s the tiles and mortar. And did I mention that this very same home had extremely old carpeting prior to this install, yet it didn’t have gaps. I mentioned it to the installers supervisor and that’s when she said part of the problem was Empires carpeting as well. So... it’s either the floors or Empires carpeting? Where does that leave me? Guess I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place... and stuck with a dodgy install. Needless to say, I will NEVER use Empire again, nor will I recommend them.
We're sincerely disappointed to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. This not what we expect for our customers, and we'll be in contact with you shortly to learn more.

I've used Empire Today on my last three jobs and I recently had them install carpeting in a rental property that I own. So far, I'm pleasantly surprised with what they've done. I was able to get similar pricing with what I get with guys who are trying to get into the business now. Since I've done a few jobs with Empire, I'm in a position now to even get better prices. That's good when you deal with somebody with a reputable name. But even though they gave me a good deal, they might not be the best deal because I only had so much time for research. The only thing I suggest is if they're dealing with somebody like me who have multiple properties, they could offer more incentives. Nevertheless, I will definitely recommend Empire Today. I'm happy with them.

The first day that Empire Today came to my home was to start replacing my carpet. (10/9) After waiting all day they show up realizing they did not bring enough equipment and said they had to come back another day. They came back the next day (10/10) in which the Vinyl flooring people were coming too. They ended up both arriving at the same time. Both the carpet people and the vinyl flooring people. They were here from 9:45 in the morning til 4 pm.
At 4 pm, they tell me they can't finished the project today due to not bringing enough molding so they would have to come back another day. A week later after they finally contacting me saying they were gonna come on 10/17 to finish the molding. I get a call at 7:45 in the morning stating they don't have time that day to come due to being too busy with another job. So I had to take off of work on 10/18 just for them to come to finish the project.
When scheduling the appointment I was told I was gonna be the first house they go to. They ended up not showing up until 12:30... after all the hassle of trying to get this project finished and taking much longer than it should have the installers damage my upstairs flooring by scratching my hardwood floors from dragging their equipment through. They also scratched up my walls up in the room that they were working on after I just had them professionally painted the week prior. Homestead hardwood laminate flooring was installed in a hurry by the crew. When I looked over job later that day there was glue on flooring. I called co. to report. They sent someone but they next week. When they got there they said it wasn't glue. It was defective flooring and found other spots as well all over floor... It was two to three weeks before they came back out and said they couldn't replace just five or six boards since they are in the middle of room. They have to take up all flooring. It had been almost a month since they were put in. They said they would send a crew in a few weeks to take up and replace all floors. I had lived in home with all of living room and dining room in pieces having to remove all items from both. I couldn't wait any longer.
We put our items back in place, they sent yet another person to take pics of flooring and I explained to him that we were not removing stuff from cab. He said he was going to do this because he was the one coming back to do job. Well they sent a different crew two weeks later. They came in saw stuff in cab. Said THEY WERE NOT DOING JOB unless stuff was removed. They left... Company has called three to four times with ridiculous terms to resolve this matter. I don't think I should have to remove all items again and live in my home in such a mess again because of a defective product. This should on them... I would not recommend them to anyone.

Imagine this being the worst review because that’s how disappointed and angry I am. We used Empire Today once before and we’re happy so we tried again. Al ** was our sales guy and nice while he was selling. We ordered carpet for both son’s rooms and paid extra for furniture REMOVAL. Al told us just to remove items from tops and installers would move furniture. Only item he instructed us to move was a tank with lizard. We did as instructed and more. Installers show up last Saturday, October 21 and that’s when our problems began. He wasn’t sure if he had enough carpet and then said it’s not his job to remove furniture and wanted us to take everything apart. I said there’s 5 of us here and we'll all carry. He walked outside and never came back in. I called every supervisor AND Al but no one could help.
The installer finally rang my bell and said he wanted his tools which I gladly flung out the front door. Then I was promised delivery Monday after 4:00 pm because we work and we’re already inconvenienced. So they showed up at 1:00. I had to run home from work to greet them and then left my mom here. They were very cordial. I was not here to see the final results until I came home from work. At that point I see a pull in the Berber. So back on phone with Empire Today and was promised a fix between 3:00-5:00 pm. Well it's 7:12 pm and I have called Empire a half dozen times. While everyone is cordial I have AGAIN been inconvenienced. Would like the COO or CFO to look up my record which salesman can provide and call my cell phone number. I will call every local news station as I do not tolerate being disrespected and inconvenienced when spending my hard earned money.

We looked at Home Depot and Lowe's and even if Empire Today costs a little higher, we went with them because of their availability to install. The carpet that we got was based on the color scheme of our paint on the wall and we wanted something that was a little darker and something that's durable. It's stain resistant and easy to clean, and we’re pleased with it.. The installation crew who came were very professional and they did a good job installing the carpet and cleaning up. There weren't tons of shreds of carpet lying around when I got home. The experience has been good from start to finish, from the salesman that came out all the way to the installation. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable and worked within my budget, which was good. I would recommend Empire Today.

We were very happy with the salesman (Drake) and with all the communication around timing, installation, etc. The install itself was okay. The hard floor (laminate) guys were really good with explaining everything and working with us on items at the end. We, however, were not clear on the removal of the tile floors and the installers did not clean up very well. I'm still finding areas that have dust from the tile removal.
The carpet guy was a different story. He never actually showed up on the day of install, from what we found out he was going to be late because of another job going longer than expected. On the rescheduled day of install he didn't know his scope of work and wasn't going to carpet a hallway that was clearly part of the work. That got fixed when I reviewed the paperwork with him. He also said he wasn't suppose to move any furniture, but my contract clearly says he was. He said, "That's okay I have furniture sliders so I will go ahead and do it for you anyway" as if it was a favor instead of part of my contract. His work was great and he cleaned up very well after he was done.

So an Empire salesperson came and advertised these floor planks that are glued AND click together, advertising this is this amazing thing. Apparently I should have checked the fine print after because what he advertised and what I signed off on was different (my mistake, but also shady business) (my floors only glue down). Then the flooring team came (none of which were fluent in English) and pulled up all the carpet but didn't show up with all the pieces needed for the install and didn't realize until we were standing on concrete slab already. So they installed up until the transitions which were left exposed and then hazardous for the offspring I tend to keep in my home. They also did not glue pieces down all the way so I had floor planks sticking up at various points and obviously uneven and potentially dangerous while walking. Not to mention there were work materials left out from them coming and not finishing the job.
They returned the next day when I complained about the poor workmanship and reglued the pieces sticking up but still did not have transition pieces, despite me asking them to verify that they had these pieces by phone before they arrived. Now I should mention that there is a transition which WAS from tile to carpet in the hall and is now tile to vinyl plank. At some point (whether while removing the first transition or installing the second) they broke the tile and placed a transition piece and tape (which I was told to leave down for a few days to make everything stick) over the spot so I couldn't see the broken tile.
I just called to complain after taking the tape off (giving it extra time because thanks to prior experience I know their glue jobs aren't the best) and there's just exposed broken tile and seeping glue at that transition point. When I called I was told that my tile was already broken. Alright, so instead of repairing that spot or filling it in or putting a larger transition they just left exposed broken tile and threw out the "already broken" pieces. So let's just say all of this leaves a lot to be desired. Like a floor that's done right the first time and doesn't require me to miss extra work for them to fix after they advertise how "all they do is floors so you won't have any issues". Thoroughly disappointed.
We take matters such as this one very seriously and sincerely regret the inconvenience. We'll be in contact with you shortly to start working on a resolution.

The appointment was scheduled for 8 am but the team did not arrive until 11 am, stating that the job on the previous day was not completed and they had to go back to complete that job. Before the installation begins, you are asked for the money up front (which I find to be shady). The installers began installation and asked if I would stay outside while they installed my carpet. At about 6 pm, I was told that the job was complete and that they were tired and left. They never did a walk thru or anything.
After I started putting my things back in place I noticed that my bedroom furniture was damaged a whole piece from the pillar of the bed and the side rail screws were missing, causing the bed to slant to one side, my wall unit was cracked on the bottom and there were dents on the walls. The carpet was not installed correctly, the installers left debris under the carpet, so there were lumps as you walked on it, the carpet kept coming out every time that I vacuum, a nail even came up and cut me. I called Empire Today to let them know about my findings. They scheduled 7 appointments of No Shows. I finally got a hold of the manager that promised he would compensate me for my furniture and would send someone to look at it. A sample was taken, a portion of the carpet was lifted and a long piece of metal was found in that spot, the carpet was vacuumed and he saw how much carpet was coming up thru the vacuum.
The representative was very surprised and stated the installers did a lousy job and that he had never seen so much carpet come up! Well as anyone in my position can imagine, I requested for my carpet to be replaced, as I did not feel safe not knowing what else was left under the carpet or when I would start to see bald spots, and I was told that they were sending it to get tested and would get back to me. I received a call that the claim that was filed to replace the carpet was denied!!! No fault was found in the carpet and that I would have to pay them again an installation fee of 750.00! Can you believe this company??? I already paid!!!
When a customer pays in full the amount owed and the carpet has not even been installed for a week and a complaint is filed, the company should be responsible for what their installers do. They are just giving the runaround. I thought because they have an 'A' Better Business rating, that this situation would have been handled quickly but it has not. Not sure how they stay in business or how they have an A rating. Please do not ever hire Empire Today!!!

Everything Empire said they were going to do, they did in a very timely manner. When they said they were going to be here, they were here and we didn’t have a problem at all. Even with the salesman. Consequently to keep remodel project on schedule I removed ceramic tiles from kitchen hallway and den/family room myself and piled old tiles out on driveway. I ended up doing the work I didn't want to do.
In emails I had respectfully requested some sort of refund for my 2 days of hard labor, the main reason I hired a contractor. They declined apology and any sort of reimbursement charging my Banking Finance account the whole price. First off let me say I love my carpeting, and the installation was first rate. I really can't say enough about how hard that team worked and how quickly. They were flawless. My salesperson was on time and polite, but it felt like buying a used car. The initial price for the work was $4K. I told him it wasn't a $4K project for me. So he "calls his manager" to find out if there's a lot of the carpet I selected in stock. If so, he might be able to give me a deal. He dropped the price to around $3,300 due to availability of product. Told him I needed the weekend to think about it. Never heard from him again.
But a few weeks later got an email "confirming my installation." I had never signed anything. So I called and was offered another $500 discount. So my ultimate price was $2,800, which was a great deal. But in the sales meeting I told him to just give me his best price, and he didn't. I don't like haggling. I am happy with the outcome and with my price. But now I know how inflated initial prices are.

The floors themselves look great, and the installation appears to have been done well. However, it took an additional 2 weeks and multiple phone calls to get someone to the house to install the transitions between the 2 materials I chose. A massive waste of time and an inconvenience between moving and work and all of the other vendors I was dealing with for that process.
Due to a still ambiguous error on the part of Empire floors, my approved finance amount was less than the amount financed. I'm told that shouldn't even be possible, and yet it happened. The result was that I had a new, maxed out credit product hit my credit report (103% of the credit limit). As expected, this dropped my credit score more than simply adding a new account would have.
When I brought the issue to Empire's attention via customer service, I was first referred to Wells Fargo, the actual lender. After speaking to Wells Fargo and making an emergency $1000 payment to get the balance under the credit limit, I was referred back to Empire. The 2nd person I spoke to at Empire essentially told me he wasn't sure what happened, and there was nothing that could be done.
At this point, I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was told the matter would be escalated and I would hear back from corporate within 24 hrs. It has not yet been a full 24 hrs, but at this point, the damage to my credit has happened and I'm not sure what can be done anyway. I understand administration errors, but this was a large one and there has been no acceptable resolution. I will not recommend Empire to anyone, and have already steered a coworker in another direction. Depending on the resolution from corporate (if I even get a call) I will be filing a BBB claim as well. To recap- the job that was supposed to take 2 days took over 2 weeks. And, an error was made that dropped my credit score almost 100 points. But, the floors look nice, for whatever that's worth. You could say, the only positive part of the experience is actually due to the flooring manufacturers.
We understand that this has been a frustrating experience for you, and apologize for the trouble that this matter has caused. We'll be in contact with you shortly to further discuss your billing concerns.

Called to cancel because employee was sick!!! And no one to cover! Called to cancel because they didn't have the right carpet for the outside porch.
Then when actually doing tile they did not put the underlay under the tile. and I paid for this... had to take pictures as their workers were doing this to get my refund, this was just BS I can't believe that this is an acceptable practice at Empire. We had our back porch enclosed and Empire Today put down the stone tile flooring for the room. I've lived in Chicago and in different parts of the country, and whenever I needed anything done on the floor, I always used Empire, even for the other houses that we’ve had. I grew up with their jingle on TV and I have their phone number, so it seemed a natural thing to call them.
But the first time the installer came out, he brought flooring that I didn’t like and we had a communication issue on the terminology for the type of flooring because I called it stone and he called it tile, so we were confused on what it really was. The next time he came out, he brought another sample of flooring and he explained that different people called it different things in different places. It was a very nice, light stone and it had grout that wasn't hard to take care of and didn’t require a lot of upkeep, and I appreciated the fact that it was low maintenance. I expected the floor to look good and to be almost totally maintenance-free. Those were the two things that meant the most to me and the flooring met my expectations on those two things. I was satisfied that the flooring looked good and it was done well.

We’ve been using Empire Today for a long time. We had good luck with them in the past because they did our carpet and they're good for that. This summer, we had part of our upstairs carpeted and I was so impressed with that. But, I’m so unhappy with the laminate flooring. When we called them out for an estimate to look at our situation, our priority was the bathroom upstairs. We picked out the product and we let the salesman know that we wanted to redo the downstairs in the future. He said that he had a really good deal going right now so we heard him out. The price was affordable so we went with it. We had them install laminate flooring in our family room, dining room, kitchen, small bathroom and laundry room in a span of eight days. We took up our carpet and they decided to go over the existing floor in the kitchen and we had a lot of trouble with this situation.
The rep said that there were a bunch of layers before the laminate type tile flooring and if we removed that, we would have to lift up and take up all of the cabinets as well. He didn’t want to get into that so that was never removed. However, they felt that if they added a thicker flooring, we wouldn’t be able to open our steel door that led to the garage. It would be too high so we had to go with something thinner which all made sense to us so we just agreed since we’re going to move in five years or so. All the while, the salesman was out here and he saw the condition of the floor because we had pulled up all the carpet and he could see better what was going on. We had to choose something that we didn’t really like. It was real thin. At that point we were all ripped up so we didn’t have a choice.
They brought in a lot of plywood because there were two rooms that needed to be brought up to that level and they did lots of layers of wet concrete to level it. They worked their butt off to level the floor. It was a huge job but I hate the floor. It feels like you’re walking on plastic. I’ve been fighting with them since Friday as we can’t even walk on the flooring. It has a huge bubble in the main area and every time you walk on it, it ripples. It lifts tables and chairs off the floor. I’ve been trying to get them out here. I have said that it was a hazard and I need to get somebody out here immediately. I made four phone calls yesterday and I texted our salesman last night telling him that either he come help me or I'm going to have to do something. Finally, I got a very nice call this morning that they’re going to send somebody out tomorrow to look at it. I told them that I fell on it when it initially bubbled up. It was a nightmare.

In December 2016, we spoke with the salesman, Rudy, about replacing our carpet with hardwood in our living room and hallway. We selected the wood and color and he assured us this hardwood would be like steel and stand up for many years to come. We are retired and have 2 dogs and 2 cats living in a modest rambler style Home. Carpet was removed and all hardwood installed in one day. Looked nice and we were pleased although the floor was not smooth. Seemed to have space between boards. In February we noticed a chip on one of the boards and again in March. They came out and replaced both times. We were told any further issues with chips were not covered and not because of their product.
Today we have found a board warped lengthwise on one board. They will come and inspect but I’m not hopeful. I regret asking Empire in the first place and have not felt like they want to have satisfied customers once the sale is complete. We expected this hardwood to be that- hard wood. We have hardwood in our kitchen and wood there has never chipped. It warped after 18 years of use. I review as a way to warn others looking at Empire for floor options and ‘tread’ carefully. I will update after next Empire inspection of the warped board on their ‘hard’ wood.

Experience has been horrible. I gave them a chance with hardwood floors and it has been installed TWICE in the wrong manner. The first time it was installed, every single plank was dented and had dings in it. The floor was installed in the wrong direction per the manufacturer requirements. Again, their installers did this the second time wrong. In addition to the manufacturer installation guide, I've had 3 contractors look at the floor and confirm the installation is wrong. The planks were installed on vinyl as they did not take the existing floor away. The planks are also installed running parallel to the floor joists which is not in accordance with the manufacturer requirements. They should be installed diagonal or perpendicular. Now, my subfloor is sagging from the weight. The customer service rep that HUNG UP on me told me that my "house was crooked and leaning". That was his true response.
My house was built in 2000 and the area where the wood is installed wrong is the only area with issue. The manufacturer warranty also requires (multiple times in the paperwork) that the floors be allowed acclimation time for 72 hours prior to install... which was also not done. So, the floor is damaged and because of their negligence, the manufacturer warranty is voided. AND, they refuse to remedy. I am contacting a lawyer.
We understand that this has been a frustrating experience for you, and regret to hear that your hardwood floor is still in need of repair. We'll be following up with you shortly to address your listed concerns, and start working on a resolution.

I have taken off 2 additional days from work without pay, because they assured me they were coming to re-do the stairs and carpet the closet. The first day they arrived with no carpet at all. The second day they only brought enough carpet to carpet the closet.
The installers have no idea what they are supposed to be doing. There is no communication between the office staff and the installers, and the installers even told me last time that the people in the office have no idea what's going on. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. Well it started off good and still hasn't ended. My installation date was in July I believe. Yes it has been that long. The installation went fine. It is the follow up that is terrible. The trimming around the edges didn't match the floor. Just needed it to match the floor. Shouldn't be a big deal. But months later, almost Nov, it is still not complete. I can't believe this poor follow up service.

We enjoy our new flooring that Empire Today installed. We had them put the new carpet in our living room and dining room. The people that came to move the furniture and put the carpet in were very well mannered and did an excellent job. It took them a little more than three-quarters of a day to finish the job. The quality of their product is excellent and my expectations were met. We had a different company do upstairs and I wasn't happy.

Empire called within 48 hours of this posting . They agreed to fix the flooring at their cost. The installer who replaced it said that it indeed was an installation error. There was no room left for expansion and in a basement (and any other room) that is necessary. Resulting floor looks beautiful.
Original Review: Oct. 20, 2017
I had laminate flooring installed in our basement. A month later the flooring bubbled in one spot. There is a huge air pocket in one spot on the floor. I called and they said they would send an inspector out. That inspector did come out and told us that the floor was installed incorrectly. There was not enough room left for expansion. He said our humidity level in our basement was within acceptable levels, so it was not a moisture issue. He said, “I will go back and write this up and we will replace it.” About 10 days went by, and I hadn't heard anything. I called to schedule the appointment. Customer service rep told me the report stated it was a site issue and we had to pay $900 to fix it. I said, “No, that isn't what we were told.” After a while, she agreed to alert her manager and they would call me back.
Two weeks and no call. I call today. Another customer service rep says it's a site issue and it will be approximately $900. I repeated the inspector's finding. He put me on hold to call his 'manager.' He came back and said, “If you disagree you can hire a third party person to inspect it at your cost.” I said, “No, it's been inspected.” He said, “Well yes, the report showed that it is an installation issue. However, our installation general manager overruled that.” I asked to speak to that man. He was, of course, on lunch, but the customer service rep could slash my price in half. I refused and asked for a copy of the report. He said that wasn't possible. I said that I wanted to speak to his manager. He said he was gone for the day and I could leave a message, but he may not be able to call back. I cannot believe a company I've used before won’t stand by their product. This is unacceptable.

After ordering my new carpet, and receiving the paper work, I noticed that the footage of carpeting and labor were not broken down. This was my oversight. But in doing so there was no you to see the discount for the current sale. But the price was within the range of other estimates I had received. The installers didn't arrive until 12 noon and this is for a job covering a living room, dining room, 2 bedrooms, hallway and stairs. The installers really did a good job and worked until nearly 6 pm!! This was the scheduling department's error, for not having this job first thing in the morning, not after another job. So I was held up all morning as well as all evening.
As if this wasn't bad enough, they didn't have enough carpet for the stairs!! This was a special order carpet!! So rather than wait for additional carpet, 2-3 weeks, I decided to let the installers do the stairs with the pieces that were left from the other rooms. They did a great job with this and should be commended for their efforts!!!
This is not the experience that we expect for our customers, and regret to hear that there was a delay in your installation. We'll be in touch with you shortly to make things right for you.

So, I wanted to get something in there that was reasonably priced, that would look good and wear well until I can do it. Empire Today installed carpet in the bedroom and living room of my home. They had a wide variety of selection. I was looking for something neutral and there were plenty of neutral colors available. I like the carpet's style, durability and it's easy to clean. It’s doing what it’s supposed to do and it looks good. I have a good experience with Empire Today and I’m happy with everything.

It's like you contract these people and don't even communicate to them what's going on. I keep taking off work for this ** and it's wasting my time and money. Someone needs to call me back asap and tell me what's going on. These floors need to be completed tomorrow. Customer service is useless, the supervisors are useless. Empire Today has a created a flooring nightmare for me. I have been working with them for 6 months to get carpet and LVP in my little cabin in Carmel Valley. I still do not have a finished job. I have lots of apologies, excuses, misinformation, and out and out lies, but the job is not complete. The first time out they arrived at 7:00 PM to start the job, They showed up with half the carpet because they said their estimator measured incorrectly. Wow, now that means after I load all the furniture back in the house, I need to do it again the next time they show up with the other half of the carpet? Carpet install was crappy, peeling up in the corners, carpet had a foul odor and squeaked when walked on. Next week the flooring guys showed up and did a good job on that part! Yeah.
It looked so good we decided to replace the crap carpet that they only half put in, with LVP in the rest of the cabin. OK, they scheduled that. I drove up, emptied out the cabin at 6:00 AM, got a call saying the installers were on their way but we were the second job and they would not be there till early afternoon... All good, we sat around and waited for them. Got a call at noon saying they never got the material in the warehouse that morning... What? They said it was on the truck and they were on the way? Asked for a manager, hold 10 minutes, disconnected. Has to drive back up to cabin and put all the furniture back into the cabin. Spoke to Josh later in the day and he said, and I quote..."Yeah, I lied about the flooring not arriving, it actually made it on the truck, but they broke down and I was trying to scramble to get another installer to pick up the job... Sorry man, I was just trying to help you".
Later the next day Amanda told me that it was not a broken down truck, but the installer just did not have time to do the job after the other jobs he had. Keep in mind, the people who are coming to your home are not Empire employees, they are non employees who are hired out depending on the volume they have any particular day. Of the 6 hard workers who have shown up so far only one was able to converse in English. Good workers, just all Spanish speakers which added to the difficulty of having them explain why they only showed up with half of the carpet and why they showed up at 7:00 at night to start the job. Amazing, I was blatantly lied to and I still don't have the most recent flooring job even started. They called and said they would knock off a hundred bucks for my trouble and was their last offer.
They make you sign an arbitration clause so you can't take them to court so I am investigating my legal options. I have never in my life posted a review online or otherwise, just wanted to warn folks off this company. This company is in turmoil and heading downhill. They deliver the worst customer experience I have ever been through and if you are thinking of using them don't walk away... RUN!

No charge for the material. Of course we are not happy camper with Empire Today. We will cover the tile with another flooring product.
Two rule in dealing with Empire (yes they are imperialistic). Rule 1: Get a large sample of the floor tile, given a mismatch you have exhibit A. Rule 2: Do not give them a pocket to take money from. This includes bank financing, debit or credit cards. Pay when the job is done. If you follow the above rules then you won't be stuck with junk on your floor.

I would scrub it with an iron brush but the dirt never came out so it looked like my floor had freckles. I wanted wooden floors for the kitchen and I saw the Empire Today's commercial about half off prices so I called them. Bryan came out and I picked out exactly what I wanted.
It was absolutely stinking hilarious that the installers went to South Hickory Trail instead of South Hickory Road so every time they'd hit North Degree Trail, they thought they were going too far so they kept going back looking for me way down the road. They called and I couldn't understand a word they were saying. I kept telling them to come towards 59, and they finally followed me. They finally got here an hour late.
Ali and Solom were great guys but we had quite the conversation. I was expecting the floors to be one piece, not interlocking, and it took them five hours but they did a great job. They took their lunch in the van because of the fresh air and they came back in. They kept working and they never really stopped or even talked. I watched them and even when they were only a quarter of the way done, I knew I was going to love it. The floor is smooth and pretty, and it matches my cabinets almost perfectly so it looks like a new kitchen. I should have done it years ago. They also did a step-in where you come in from the garage then you step up into the kitchen and then they did a small bathroom also so everything matches and I'm very happy with it.

But I forgot that I was going to paint and my other carpet still had paint on it, so I told them to put the carpet in after I was done with the painting.
Another good thing about Empire was that the contractor they used to put the carpet in was very efficient and they cleaned up after themselves. So, I was very pleased with the contractor that they used. But what I didn’t like about Empire was that they wanted me to pay even before they had put the carpet in. I was working with contractors and didn't have a problem paying, but I needed to see the work before I completely paid them. For me, that’s the way to do business. We had Empire Today install wood floors in three bedrooms and a hallway on the second floor of our 1,800-square-foot home. The price was good and the engineered wood that we got is holding up very nicely, but the molding or trim that they used to finish up the floor was of poor quality. We spent $1,000 for the new trim to be put on the baseboard. The salesman who came told us that if we wanted a certain kind of trim, we should go and buy it. He made it sound like they were going to take the old trim, but they didn't. The installers pulled all the carpet out and put in the planks of wood, but they left the old trim.
Once the installers had ripped out the carpet, the floor was a lot deeper, and the trim that we picked out and bought was too short. That was partly our fault since we didn’t get the trim measured and we listened to a salesman who did not know what he was talking about when it came to that. We returned what could be returned, but we took a $200 loss on what we couldn’t return. Then we painted the new trim to match. Now we’re telling anyone and everyone who will listen to get a professional to come in and evaluate the trim and anything else that they want to tweak their wood floors with. But the workmen who did the floors were very nice and courteous, cleaned up very well, and did everything they could to make the transaction very smooth.

My wife and I have been wanting laminate wood flooring in our house for about 10 years now. I decided this was the year we were going to get the wood floors - just in time for my wife's birthday on the 24th. A guy by the name of Lawrence came out to meet with us. We picked out the laminate we wanted (scratch proof and waterproof) and applied for financing which we were approved for. Lawrence explained that a benefit of going through Empire is that they hire people to work directly for them as opposed to places like Home Depot and Lowe's who sub-contract out projects and you never knowing who you are going to get to do the job. We got "cold feet" at the end because of the total cost of the project.
Approximately 2 days later we had a voicemail from a lady named Lisa who stated that they could come down in price while still giving us the same product we wanted. We were very excited and pleased that they wanted our business enough that they were willing to come down in price. We set an installation date for Saturday, October 14, 2017. The guy did a good job calling us on Friday to confirm our installation and twice this morning letting us know when they would arrive.
From there things went downhill. The guy knocked on our door one time and let himself in. He didn't not introduce himself. He just said he was here to install our floors. Since he did not introduce himself we do not have his name but he appeared to have a Bosnian accent. Less than 5 minutes of being here he announced he couldn't install the floors. The guy said he did not have the proper baseboards (he said they loaded the van with 3 inch baseboards and he needed 8 inch baseboards. He also did not have transitions from the hallway to the living room and the entryway into the living room). He also said he did not have the proper saw to cut the baseboards. I was told that there would be approximately 27 cartons of flooring to do all the areas needed but there were less than 16 in the van.
At this time, I called Lawrence and left a message. While I was waiting for Lawrence to call back the guy with the Bosnian accent told me my house was "built wrong" and it was "** up". (Saying this in regards to our sunken living room.) I could not believe that a man that was in my house to provide a service told me my house was "** up." About 20 minutes later I received a call back from Lawrence and I explained the problem with the baseboards and saws and Lawrence then asked to speak to the Bosnian guy. Once I got back on the phone with Lawrence he asked me if I'd be willing to do the kitchen floor as well since the kitchen flooring also drops down into the sunken living room. I told him that was not what was in our contract and no, we did not have the money to include the kitchen. Lawrence than said we would have to reschedule because it is a "special project" and they will need to send out another team to do it.
He told me that he was going to call the Installation manager (Aaron) and if he couldn't get a hold of him today then he would talk to him on Monday. Lawrence called back 5 minutes later and said that he DID get a hold of Aaron and that Aaron should be calling us right away. This was around 9:30ish and it is now 2 p.m. and we haven't heard anything.
We are hoping Empire makes this right. If what Lawrence said is true about your company hiring people to work directly for you then you need to consider some training for the people you hire. I would never in a million years knock once on someone's door and let myself in and not given a handshake or introduce myself. I MOST certainty not use the word "**" to describe a customer's home. Also, it should have been explained to us that it would have been beneficial to do the kitchen at the same time as the living room prior to signing a contract for the work that was to be done. If in fact our house is "** up" because of a sunken living room then you guys may want to consider not doing business in our neighborhood, Idlewood Acres, because there are many homes in our neighborhood with sunken living rooms.
Also, we were also told by Lawrence that they would be responsible for moving our furniture which was a plus for me as I have recently had knee surgery. Upon receipt of the contract we saw where it said WE are responsible for moving the furniture. Disappointing that the information we received in order to make a decision about going through Empire is different than the wording in the contract.
At this point we are wondering if it had been better to go with Lowe's or Home Depot. We are hoping this gets resolved prior to receiving the first billing statement as I refuse to pay for work that hasn't been completed in my house. The Empire sign is NOT in our front yard as we cannot at this point and time recommend your company to others.
We're disappointed to hear about your installation experience, and assure you that this is not the level of service that we expect for our customers. We'll be in touch with you soon to learn more.

I heard Empire was a good company. The other companies were going to take a month to get to me, and I don’t have time to waste. Empire was able to do it earlier so two days later, I decided to go with them. The installers were very professional and installed the carpet for the whole house. I liked the color and shade of the carpet and for the price, it's good. I would definitely recommend them to a friend, family or anybody. I was very happy with Empire. They were very professional and did an awesome job.

Empire had been in my mind over time after all the commercials they used to run. And when I needed new carpeting, they're the first person I thought of even though I don't see the commercials as often as I used to. I had them lay a carpet in our living room and hallway, and I love it. The workers did a great job. If I needed anything else, I would want the same two guys here.

I got the whole upstairs of my place carpeted by Empire Today. I also consider Home Depot, however, because of my time factor, I went with Empire. I like Home Depot's the pricing, as well as the other things, better. When I called Empire, they quoted me almost more than double for the same type of carpet. If I didn't have the quote from Home Depot, I would not have known the actual price. Empire's pricing was too inflated. Since I had the comparison quote, the salesman quoted me $500 more than what Home Depot quoted. That's half the price of the original quote. The way they estimate and the way they agree to the same product is unbelievable, but I still went with them since my tenant was waiting. The installation went fine, and aside from the estimation process, everything was perfect.

I’m enthusiastic about the service that Empire Today has provided me. I had carpet installed in the hallway, the family room, and the dining room. I heard Empire’s ad, and of course, the half-price factor somewhat convinced me that it was good, price-wise. I was very happy to decide on them. The color was close to what I had before which I liked. I just have to block now the entrance to those rooms with the carpet because of my little Yorkshire Terrier. I had her perfectly trained but she’s having some problems and was wetting on the carpet. I love the carpet so much, I don’t want her to stain it. I’m very satisfied with Empire Today.

I initially made a purchase for the living room to be done and then decided to redo the basement so we did the whole house instead. We've been strung along for a while by Home Depot. First, they ordered the carpet then they didn't order the carpet. They had to go through their distributor and then they couldn't install it for another four weeks after that. So we cancelled them and decided to buy carpet from carpet people. I needed to get the house on the market and Empire Today could get the job done right away. Also, their salesman and installers are really good. The salesman was very nice and he told me what carpet they've got and what I can do. I also didn't have to explain on the colors.
Empire installed carpeting for the upstairs and downstairs. The guys didn't tear up any walls or anything and did the installation quickly. The carpet looks professionally installed and cannot go with the seams. The carpet held up very well and fitted so well on the house. We also picked the carpet with the short nap so it's easy to keep clean. So, I'm a happy customer and I've already recommended Empire Today to somebody else.

We like the product now that's in the facility, especially the color and the price because it was discounted. However, we didn’t get the discount that we thought was in the works, that was supposed to be refunded to our card. A man arrived on Aug 24 2017 and took pictures of the carpeting and said it would take 7-10 days. I waited 2 weeks. Made numerous calls with no call back.
Finally talked with someone that stated it can take up to 3 weeks for review, so waited another two weeks. Made numerous calls and no call back, finally talked to someone on Oct. 5 2017 to hear that my carpeting could not be fixed that I could have my carpet replace and since my carpet was discontinued I would have to select the new carpet. Was told a rep would be at my home Oct 10 2017 to select carpet. Well to no surprise no one showed, called later in the day and was told I would get a call back. No call, called again today. Finally talked to someone. They couldn't tell me why no one showed but would have taken care of by Friday which is October 13. Was told I would get called back. Guess what? No call... I had carpeting, luxury tile and linoleum installed by Empire Today. They worked on our living room, bathroom and an entry. I like their warranty and the price that the other brands couldn’t touch when compared to. Also, the items were wonderful and the colors were fabulous. I love my carpeting as well. However, I had an issue with the workmanship that was put in the bathroom. The gentleman who came at 7:30 at night was overworked and when he did the bathroom, some of the tiles had spaces in them. For a small bathroom at $730, they could've done a better job and I'm not happy with the finish the longer I look at it.
In addition to that, he was a day late when he got here. I had the automatic call that said I was on schedule for that day, but I felt like I was held hostage because there were no phone calls to say that no one would be here. So, that was set up for three days because they said installation would be done by a different person. It was one of the things that they need to work on. On the other hand, they were good at contacting the customers.

Empire had put down hardwood floors and carpeting in our house a couple of years ago, and I went back to them. I called them and when their representative came out, I showed her what I had down. My husband wanted the hardwood floors before he passed away, but I can’t stand them, so I wanted Empire to be able to cover it and to match the carpet as well as they could. The rep was very helpful and she made telephone calls to the people that she needed to find out if they still have the same carpet.
And this time, which was the fourth time we’ve had Empire do something in our homes, they put carpet in my living room and hallway. I like its color, and it matches what’s in the rest of my house. The people that did the work are very conscientious. They had accidentally covered a couple of outlets on my floor, but they were very helpful and they came back out. They found them and made sure they’re visible for me to use, so I appreciated it.

Empire Today is proactive, flexible and very customer service-oriented. Everybody was accommodating and nice. To come out and get a quote from them was super easy and they were very competitive on the pricing. We had them install the premium vinyl flooring on the main floor and upstairs. But as far as the quality, there was a bit of a misunderstanding between what my expectations were and what they were able to deliver.
When they gave us the quote, the salesperson did not have the necessary wood that needed to be in addition to the carpet in order to have the floor flushed with the trim. We needed to have a half-inch trim to go around downstairs because obviously the floor was too low and there was a gap between the trim and the flooring. Either there was a miscommunication or the pricing did not include the wood in order to be added once the carpet was removed. But Empire Today brought the installers to put the half-inch round trim in order to solve the issue. It's not perfect because that’s not what I envisioned when I first signed the deal, nevertheless, it worked out. They did it perfectly upstairs though. Overall, the look and the feel of the wood were perfect. So, we really like the style that they were able to provide.

Hardwood Floor Installation - This is our 3rd purchase with Empire Today. To say it has been frustrating is an understatement!! We ordered the floor on September 4th, an installation date was set for Sept 19th. On Sept 19th we called to find out where the installers were, no one showed up. Customer Service told us that the floor had not come in. I called the salesperson and was told the floor was in and install would begin on Sept 20th. The installers came and were paid in full. On the second day of install we were told that they did not have all the material and could NOT complete the job. The stairs and 1/4 round would be in two weeks. It is almost three weeks and I am getting the biggest jerk around!!
Called two weeks later, Customer Service, because the showrooms have since been closed down, was told that the floor was in and an appointment was set for Saturday - would receive a call between 7-8 am to let us know when the installer would be there. At 8:00 Saturday morning received a call stating that the flooring was not in and they were cancelling the appointment. Called Cust Service that afternoon, they tried to get in touch with the warehouse but they were closed, was told that I would receive a call from the warehouse Monday.
Monday I received no call. Called Cust Service again, asked to speak with supervisor. Was told that part of the order was in but they forgot to order the 1/4 round. Was told I would receive a call on Tuesday again from the warehouse. On Tuesday I did not receive a callback, I called the warehouse and left a message but still received no callback. When I called Cust Service on Tuesday was told they could not get through to the warehouse but it did look like the 1/4 round was ordered. I was told that "Kim" would call me back that day but of course no call - today is Wednesday and still no phone call. Needless to say this is a nightmare, we are very dissatisfied.

I wanted to get a new carpet because the one I had was almost 20 years old, and I wanted it done quickly. I called other companies, but I like the salesman from Empire Today. He’s a nice guy. He came down and explained everything. It took over a month to put the carpet in my upstairs living, but it’s not the company’s fault. The first time that the carpet was to be installed, it was raining and Empire Today told me they had to put a lot of things outside. And this happened twice.
When the installer came, I was surprised because Empire Today sent a guy alone and it’s a big job for one person. I had to help him move the couch and TV around and bring the carpet in. The installer did a good job though. I like the carpet too. It looks good and it’s easy to clean. I vacuum it every day. However, I noticed around eight black spots on it. It almost looks like the carpet is defective because the carpet’s brown like tweed and the spots look like dirt. When we checked the spots, they’re nothing, and so, that didn’t bother me.

The installers knew what they were doing and they were very good. It was a long experience because we had a little home, and the hallway, the stairs, the little landing, and the three bedrooms needed to be done. And because of it being a small home, the rooms are not that large. They had to do a lot of transferring back and forth. I had everything boxed up and moved pretty much, but they still had the furniture to move from room to room. So it took some time but they did a good job. Not knowingly I had signed contract for this. Did not get money back yet. Had only 3 days to cancel contract, had to pay additional 25$ for next day deliver to Their legal dept and confirmation of delivery. When I reached out to agent, he didn't get back to me till I had only 1 day left. Was grateful they got letter. He was not willing to include, estimate for sub floor, even if it was worst case scenario, or give materials, and dimensions, unless I signed a new contract.
Note that in contract is for agreeing not to take them to legal court, but a court of arbitration. A company should be willing to compromise and not say sign contract or we go our separate ways, without giving someone an estimate on the whole project. Company should be willing to have a contract that outlines worst case scenario amount, and should be willing to not have contract wording be for aberration, to only save face. If I’m putting in effort and understanding and willing to meet half way, then meet me half way. Not your way or no way. Also would be nice to be given more time to cancel contract (ex) 1 week, so there's time to go over the issues like I stated above.

When no one showed I called and they said "well you have one for the 13th" and I told her, "no I made a new one" and she said, "Oh I am so sorry." So she advised she could get me in today again for the hours of 7pm to 9pm so I agreed and she told me she would give me a credit of an additional $50.00 for the mistake. So again I waited only to get an email that someone would be here between 5-7pm and no show then said another appointment will be 7 to 9pm which I called at 8pm only for them to tell me they redid the appointment for Oct 23rd now and I told them to take me off the list.
They do not call to notify you and then think that after four times already I would ever want to do business with such a shady company and then I read all the complaints and will seek help from a good company that is right here in Naples that will show up and match and do better than Empire Today. They're late and when they came out, they got the carpet in but for the wood floor, they weren't able to do it for another week after that. When they came out the second time to do it, the guy just walked into the house and said he couldn't put the floor in. The floor wasn't level enough to do the laminate and he had to put a subfloor. So they left my house, went to Home Depot, and bought wood to put in a subfloor and they charged me $1800. I went online and I looked to see how much that would cost, and it was $13 a piece. They got here first thing in the morning and the rep didn’t leave until about 6:00 at night.
The installers are coming back next week since the laminate was bulking which I was not happy about given what I paid for it. Other than that, the Empire Today carpet is more cushiony compared to the Smart Carpet that I have, and the loops are so small that my new dog likes to pull it up and down. Also, I clean a lot easier now with the carpets in the kitchen and the living room floors.

I have exclusively used Empire Today over the last 10 years. I had a rug and vinyl click flooring installed and everything has met my expectations. The installers were fantastic like they've always been and they have always been on time too. When they told me they were going to arrive at 9:00, they arrived at 9:00. However, I got dropped twice when I was scheduling. And each time, I had to take a day off of work at my job that pays the bills. On the second time, I didn't get a phone call until 3:00 that afternoon that nobody was going to make it. I lost three days from work. I expected to give them one but I lost two extra days and I should be compensated for that.
Apparently their scheduling process sounds like it's totally out of control. They have no idea of what they're doing anymore. I learned this also from the installers who told me, "Yeah, everything is in chaos." The problem is with the scheduling the contract between Empire and me as a customer. They gave me expectations that I have to meet for them to do the job. I fulfilled those obligations but they didn't. And that cost me $600 out of my pocket because of Empire's inability to perform up to their end of the contract.
I let them know that and when I last talked to the guy in Seattle, I said I wanted to talk to somebody higher than him. And then I got a call two weeks later from somebody who works for Empire, I explained the situation to him and he said, "I'll make note of that but you have to understand you're probably not gonna get a phone call from anybody because nobody cares." It's been over a month and I have never been contacted by a higher level manager to resolve my problems. I don't know what has gone wrong with the company.

Empire Today was a recommendation from a good friend. They did the carpeting in the bedroom and everything was positive from the very beginning - from the woman who did the sample showing to the workman. They were very efficient and pleasant. We like the carpet a lot, too. People who come in and go through the bedroom say, “Oh, this is so nice and so soft.”

They were having a sale when I called them, but not on vinyl flooring, which is what I had them install. It went fine, although the guys who came, I asked them to put the furniture into the dining room and they didn’t do it. And they quickly put my table into the pantry and it’s a tiled table and I didn’t realize until afterwards that they cracked it. So, I wasn’t very happy about that either. Then, instead of the flooring that I picked out, they put another flooring down. I didn’t notice it until it was already down. I told them about it and the person who came and showed it to me told me to go to the people who mediate such complaints. But I decided that I wouldn’t do that because I wasn’t unhappy with the floor that they put down. I called and complained and I told them already that it wasn’t the pattern that I picked out.
The person who came to show me the samples was quite nice, and I talked to him later and he said that what I had chosen was the information that he gave them. And he was quite nice about it and I liked him. They put it down quite nicely, and the guys who came did a good job. The colors were right, but the pattern was not the same. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone else because I don’t think that would be very nice to happen.

Empire Today installed a carpet in our bedroom and a vinyl wood flooring in the hallway. It was something that we wanted and it had a high quality and it was also easy to clean. Plus, we had our kitchen and our computer room done with tile and our family room done with carpet. They got different grades and we were satisfied with the workmanship and the quality of their product. We had other carpets years ago and they were supposed to be of good quality, but they never held up. Also, the people who do the work for Empire were professionals and not fly-by-night. If we were to have another room where we will put a carpet in, we would get Empire again.

We had Empire Today install some carpet and vinyl flooring. We went with them considering the price and how long it would take them to put it in versus the other guys. It seemed like Empire wanted the business more. The flooring was for a rental and our daughter is renting it from us. So, we wanted something that was durable but still looked really good. We are really happy with the product. They were efficient and professional. The experience was great. Also, they are coming out and doing a quote for my regular house now.

We got the luxury vinyl plank from Empire through the whole house. I like the color, the durability of the waterproof and scratch proof feature. It’s just something that we don't have to worry about in the long run. But it took five times for them to come out to fix it, so I had a big deal with that. When they first installed it, the guys were supposed to be here two days and they tried to get it done in a day. So we had to sit outside until nine o'clock at night because they were still here working. My understanding was that they're supposed to be done before 6:00. The whole house was torn apart and I had to put everything back together. We have a little boy, so I had to get his room put back together. Late at night, he was sleeping in the car. We weren't planning on them doing the whole house, so I moved certain stuff out of certain rooms that they were going to do first.
Also, I noticed that they left something under the floor of our bedroom. It was a hump in two spots, so I told them to get that corrected. They came out and I wasn't home, my wife was. They told her that there was nothing under the floor. We had hardwood floors under this floor, so the floor is perfectly smooth before. But they left, so I called them back. They came back and I wasn't here again. My mother-in-law was here, but I've marked it with tape where the spots were. So they took them up and then they cut the locking mechanisms off of the planks, and they glued it into place and it was raised up and there was glue all over the floor when I got home.
That one won't work, so I called them back again, and they came back out again. I was here that day. I asked them if they got it right and they said yes but to not move the furniture. He had the furniture conveniently over what he fixed, so I couldn't see it. The next day, I moved the furniture, same crap. So I called them again and told them I want to talk to the district manager. I missed work two times from this crap. A guy was supposed to come out on a Tuesday to look at it, so I took off work but he never showed up. He missed my job and went to another job on accident. I called and finally got it with somebody and then they said that they would be here first thing the next day.
Then, they came back out and the guy looked at it and left, so I was confused. This is not an old floor. It's a new floor and I wanted it done like it's reasonably supposed to be done. I then had to wait another week for them to come back out to fix it. The guy told me on the phone that he’ll glue it back down. So, I said no and that if they glue it back down, I'm going to call them back. They can either do it like I told them to or I'm just going to have to call again and get somebody to come and fix it. So he took the floor up like I told him and fixed it right. I was disappointed that I even dealt with Empire and have them to go through all that. Also, nobody called me back to try to reimburse for some of the time lost. I bought $5,400 worth of flooring from them, so I expected a little bit more customer service. They were in such a hurry that they messed it up.
We never want our customers to feel this way, and we'll be further investigating your concerns.

We got our floors about a month ago and I am so disgusted. I don't normally post too many negative reviews, but we have been getting the runaround with this company for as long as we have had the floors. We had two segments done. Laminate throughout the house and tile in the bathroom. It took almost a month to get the crew out here to do the tile, but in the end it looks awesome. The problem is with the laminate. The crew took a four day job and turned it into a 2 1/2 week job. They were so far behind schedule that they slammed the last part of the floor in and now the strip are all rising at the seams. We understand the idea of a floating floor, but the floor is so bad that when you walk on it EVERY step is a horrible squeaking noise and pinches the bottom of your feet. The raised spots are so obvious that people have commented upon entering our house for the first time.
We called Empire and asked for a different person to come out and check it and they sent the guy who did it. Of course he said there was nothing wrong, but it was our fault. We have spoken to so many reps at Empire and they just keep saying someone will call in 24 hours, but no one calls. We spent $12000+ on our new floors and they are terrible and Empire doesn't seem to give a crap. On the plus side, our salesman, Brandon, was awesome. He answered all our questions and made us believe we had made the right decision. Too bad Empire doesn't respect or stand behind their sales team.

The Empire Today salesman was fair on the different levels of quality that you could pick and the price you pay for those things. I thought the quality was good and that the half price was really hard to beat. We had two products installed by Empire Today, hardwoods in our living room and the carpets in the family room and the upstairs bedroom. It took them a really long time to do the carpeting with two guys. It was a nine-hour workday but they did really good.
We already had some hardwoods in some of the downstairs rooms and the new stuff matched up almost perfectly. You can’t really tell that it’s been installed two different times. I was also really pleased with the guarantee that they offered on the carpet. Plus, it had features like the stain resistance and the child-proofing for allergies. We live in a family home with lots of bedrooms and we're going to sell it to a family with kids probably so I thought that was a really good feature. Empire Today was great to work with and I got good value for my money. I have already told everybody I knew about them and once I brought it up, other people started saying they used Empire and liked it too.

This is my first time ever leaving a review on any business. I am completely disappointed in Empire's professionalism and am appalled at their bait and switch tactics. When we ordered carpet we were shown multiple styles and "qualities" of carpet. We decided on the best quality of carpet from the samples we were shown. When the installers showed up (a day late mind you) you are required to sign off on the carpet in the truck before they install it. Fortunately we made the salesman leave us the sample carpet board when we agreed to purchase. To our surprise the carpet they were going to install was the right color but was absolutely a lesser grade/thickness of carpet. We then spent the next hour trying to speak to anyone from Empire Carpet which was a complete runaround.
Finally we spoke to a rude woman who proceeded to tell me we were wrong and basically didn't know what we were talking about (even though she was there to see the two carpets). We proceeded to cancel our order and then went to three different carpet stores and showed them the two samples and they all agreed that they two carpets were absolutely different grades of carpet. Then to add insult to injury we went to Lowe's and found almost the exact same carpet (different name) and it was $2,000+ cheaper and included a much better padding than what Empire was going to install. Buyer Beware... bait and switch.
We understand that this has been a frustrating experience for you and we'll be in touch with you shortly to discuss your experience.

We went to Lowe’s and the sales rep didn’t act like she was interested waiting on us, so we just got mad and left. I previously used Empire Today and it was great. They moved out the furniture and they put it back. They had done a good job. Recently, I had them install carpeting in the living room and the dining room. The girl come and measured the rug. I picked out the one that I thought was right and then when I got it it seemed like it was really light. I thought it had a yellow in it, but it didn't. But it’s my fault. I should’ve checked it when they brought it in, but I didn’t. I would have liked the darker color, but that’s fine.
However, there's something wrong with what they did and I don’t know what it is. It looks fine up against the wall, but right as you go in my doorway into the bedrooms, it's got that wrinkle in it. I called them and they come out and got the wrinkle out. They had to cut some of the rug off because it didn’t fit. They said they didn’t leave too much rug on to go up under the base floor and it looked real good when they got it done, but now the wrinkle is coming back in again. I can't have that wrinkle in the rug because he’s disabled and so am I. But they made good on the rug. They were very nice and tried to do everything right.

We looked at a lot of other brands and Empire Today's package deal seemed like a good value. Our saleslady was really nice so we looked at all her samples, talked it over, thought it was a good deal, and went with it. We got our contract immediately but it took a long time for us to complete the installation. She contacted us again to redo the contract because it has expired. We got the flooring, carpet and linoleum. We had the engineered hardwood installed in two rooms, and they did a good job. I like all the features of the flooring. It seems sturdy that it'll probably last for a long time. The color is also pretty. It's really hard to clean though, but I like the hardwood.
The last portion of our order was the carpeting and I'm so not happy about that. I called our saleslady and she told us to call the 1-800 Empire line. We had to move everything that we can move and we're old people so it was hard to do so. We have this enormous bed and I didn’t know how to take it apart. I figured they could move it. We did everything that we could do. However, the installers told my husband they were not going to put the carpet in our bedroom because of a headboard with two cupboards on each side and it is huge. We were here and we could’ve helped them move it. My husband asked them to install the carpet and they said that they will put the carpet and cut around the cupboards.
So my husband knew about and he was afraid to tell me. I found what they did when I was cleaning after they left. I can see it when I vacuum. If they only moved the furniture even a few feet and then piece the carpet together and put it back, it would have been better than what they did. There were also cut marks all around these cupboards. It's the worst. Now when I get a new headboard, I have these two holes in the carpet that are about at least three feet by two and a half feet, two of them on each side of where the only place the bed can go. They left us with a piece of carpet that will not fill these holes so I'm pissed. I emailed our saleslady and she said to call it in.
When we get a new furniture or sell our house and move, I have to buy a new carpet for that room and it won't match the other carpet. It would be the worst thing. They didn’t even know they did that. For that reason, I won't ever buy anything from Empire Today again. I didn’t know about it or I wouldn't have signed off on their paper. I gave them good marks. They did a fine job of the installation in our living room. We have about 14 steps and they did those perfectly. Then our bedroom is fine except for that part, which totally ruined it.
This is not the experience we expect for our customers, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. We will be in touch with you shortly to further discuss this matter.

This time I used them for my rental property where I am classified as a commercial customer and was required to pay them 100% in full at the time of order. Since I paid 100% upfront they have no sense of urgency to install the carpet and I have been waiting for over a month now to get the carpet installed and they have a ton of reasons why they are not able to install from the scheduling was inaccurate in their computer to the carpet did not show up on their truck and so on. I have tried to call the main office several times and no one there will answer the phone or call me back, I only reach subcontracted call center employees that have nothing to do with the company directly.
I find their business ethics to be lacking and their customer service to be horrible. I am going to Home Depot and using them for my carpet purchase and installation and it is far more smooth of a process than Empire. This is my last time I will ever use or recommend Empire for anything. It sat there for a day or two before I figured it out and when I found it, the laminate flooring where the spot was had already curled up at the very top of the design.
When I called Empire about it, they said urine would ruin the flooring and no flooring would put up to that. But if I had known that, I wouldn’t put it in the bathroom and I wouldn't even buy it. I could have gone with a real wood or a real tile. It was so sad and too bad but if I want them to fix it, they would charge me for it. That was their attitude. Their rep was also very businesslike on the phone and said they didn’t do that. Not a lot of them would stand down for that and that's the one thing I wasn’t impressed with. I had Empire Today install carpets and carpet pads in my bedroom and bedroom closet. At first, I went to Carpet Giant, but I thought they were high. I then called Empire, and they came and did a bigger section of the house. Then, I had them come back and do another bedroom and the master bedroom closet. They took half an hour to finish. Finally, I had them come to do the carpet in the last bedroom, which didn't go as well as the first two.
They called at 8:05 and said they'd be here in the next hour and a half to two hours. However, they showed up at 10:25. One of them gets out and decides to sit there in the street to smoke and talk on his phone. Then they come in here and said they can't do it because of the safe. I talked to the salesman and got the safe under control. I moved it to one side of the room using PVC. I jacked it up on PVC and cut the carpet pad out and had the safe against the wall to where they could lay carpet up to the safe. I could then roll it on PVC to the side of the room with carpet.
They came in and started, but then had an issue with the seam at the hall door to the bedroom. I then moved the safe to the other side of the carpet. Then, they finished the other quarter of the room where the safe was. When they were doing the bedroom closet, they lifted the paper out to seam, however, when they started stretching the carpet, they didn't lift the paper out to the wall enough and pulled the seam apart at the closet's door. They had to rip it up and move the carpet over. Luckily, they hadn't cut it to the wall on the other side and there was enough to pull it back and still cover. Prior to that, I went outside to smoke and they told me they used some of my old pad because they didn't have enough pad. I told them I called to get a new carpet and new pad. I'm not supposed to be using an old padding. The installer told me that he didn't know they didn't get enough and they blame it on me calling the salesman.
I didn't pay them to have my old stuff used, and it's supposed to be pet-resistant padding. They then found several pieces to put in the closet. After they pieced the pad together, they pulled it up and redid the joint of the doorway. It was fine after that. Then when the time came to pay, I gave them my credit card, but they didn't know how to process it. So they called somebody and eventually managed to get it through. It was a screwed up mess. The first two jobs were fine, but I wouldn't recommend them after the third one.

But I’m used to things happening. The delay didn’t bother me at first because I had to clear three rooms of things that would interfere with the installers putting the carpet down. The installers would move the furniture pieces, but everything on them needed to be boxed up. So, Empire gave me time to send their people over here to box things up and get them out of the way. They were nice and did a good job of moving the furniture. But after that was done, the carpet wasn't delivered till after another week or so. I’ll be 87 next month, so I’m used to things happening.
After the installation, I noticed in my bedroom that the stick where things were hung onto was out in the open and could be seen, while in the computer room everything was tucked out of sight. About a week after the carpeting was installed, my daughter came by. She's my go-to person for my computer and takes care of technical things for me. She found that the cords were tangled up together behind the computer stand. It took her about 10 minutes to get them untangled, then she said that the installers had cut out the wire to my speaker. So now I have a desktop computer with no sound. I had signed up for Spanish lessons and I had to hear the sound, but I couldn't.
I had the card of one of the two guys that installed the carpeting but I couldn’t find it. But I told somebody at Empire informally about what had happened. My old monitor has been out for some time and my daughter picked up a new one for me at Costco and brought it home. She found out that the new monitor had no sound and needed a stereo speaker. I called Empire and reported the issue to them. So, they're acting on it and they’ll be sending a contractor out here next week, between 9 and 12, to look and see what happened, and to check the speaker and the cords. It’s not a big issue, though, and Empire can just replace my speaker with any kind of speaker so I can hear the sound.
Nevertheless, I like the new carpet that I got and its color. The carpet is fine and I'm satisfied with it, although I can’t sit and roll my walker on it as easily as I used to with my old carpet. I also got a better grade of padding this time, which is new and cleans fine. I had a good experience with Empire Today and they made it nice and neat in the den, but I wish they had done that in my bedroom as well.

Aside from TV commercials, one of my neighbors recently got a new carpet and suggested I should consider Empire Today. It was highly recommended that she had a good deal on the cost. Also, our first choice is always an American company before a foreign one. I'm satisfied with all the products that I got. The laminated wood flooring is beautiful. I switched up my carpet which I had in the living room and dining room. The flooring makes my room look like it's flowing better, bigger and beautiful. The wood looks like real wood but it isn't. We also had tile put in the kitchen and we had carpet put in in the family room and the stairwell going upstairs.
The last service was the carpet and there was a miscommunication because the contractor did not show up on the day that they said that they were going to. We weren't happy with that because we had taken off work and lost money for doing it. We didn't like what they told us why they didn't show up. It didn't sound right for myself and my husband so we complained about it. They came that week but still, we had to take off another day because they didn't show up.
I had to keep calling their office to find out what was going on and where they were. And then to be told at the end that the contractors for carpeting didn't show up that day didn't sound correct. I realized Empire has been around for years even when I was a little girl. They have a good reputation but they will have to back it up. They have to be able to get the odds and cross the things with their communication in their business office and the billing. They haven't straightened out my bills. They promised me adjustment on it and they haven't. We've gotten two bills and we have not seen the discount show up. Their product was still better and people would want to recommend them, but I'm not going to recommend them to anyone until they have satisfied my complaint.
We apologize for the inconvenience, and are disappointed to hear that you have not received your refund credit. We'll investigate this further, and we'll be in contact with you soon.
Thank you.

I liked that I could finance my purchase from Empire Today because I didn't have the actual amount on hand to pay for it. My salesperson was excellent. He explained everything that I needed to know to me. They installed carpeting in the upstairs area and the stairs, and though the people who installed the carpet didn't speak much English, everything was pretty good. I'm very satisfied. I like the color and the quality of the carpet. I just need them to come back because the downstairs area where the last stair is, it looks a little tacky and it's coming up. It's the same issue upstairs where they had to make the carpet of the stairs meet the upstairs area.

I had carpet done by Empire in my home and I like the quality of the material of the product. It has a soft material and it met my expectations. I like the price too. The quality of work done was great and if I had to do it all over again, I’d do it again.

They offered next day installation and I scheduled it 2 weeks out. They confirmed installation the day prior to installation and I arranged for all small objects and other items to be removed from 2 bedrooms. At 7:01 am on morning of installation they called to inform me material was out of stock and to reschedule. This was unacceptable and I ask for refund of 10% down payment and cancelled installation. They have not called or contacted me. I am 78 years old and this has created a hardship on me, all I want is my down payment refunded. I have had other expenses but I consider those a learning experience. Perhaps the $340.00 down payment is part of the learning experience but that is pricey considering I live on a fixed income. They wanted balance paid prior to installation so I am fortunate it didn't cost me $3,500.
We apologize for your experience, and understand that your order was cancelled. Your refund check was mailed on 10/3/17. For future questions and/or concerns please contact us at customersupport@empire-today.com.
Thank you.

Empire Today installed carpet throughout the house and linoleum on one spot in the kitchen. The installation team was courteous, did what they're supposed to do and cleaned up after themselves. I'm satisfied with the carpet although we were a bit late on the carpet being installed. They said that they had to order the carpet and them not being able to put in the day they were supposed to, that can happen anywhere. They very much met our expectations and I would definitely recommend Empire Today.

I was getting ready to update my flooring at home and looked at places like Home Depot. Empire Today was having a sale so I got them and they did a quick and decent job on the installation. The carpet seems good quality and is a lot better than what I had. The vinyl floor in the kitchen matches my cabinets. However, I have dogs and the wood floor in the dining and living room is hard to keep clean. Yet, everything worked very well and I'm happy.

I had Empire Today install carpet in two bedrooms and on the stairs of my house. My realtor called them. He knew the sales guy who came out the same day. Because I got overbooked, the sales guy tried to squeeze me in. Their service guys were able to install the carpet the next day and finish all their job within the day. I've recommended Empire Today to another friend of mine.
