    Empire Today installed our carpet. They were running a special, which made me kind of lean in their direction with all things that are factored in. They installed it at the upper level of my home including my stairs leading to it. And for the most part they met my expectation. I experienced two crews coming in to do it because they didn't measure on them enough. There was a gentleman that came by, did the measurements and then when they showed up with the carpet it wasn't enough to do the job. So they had to split it up and they were able to match that with our lot which is very important in carpeting.

    The second crew did the installation better than the first crew. I had to make the first crew re-stretch the carpet on my stairs because it was not tight and that is dangerous. Being a military-minded person for 22 years I don't let the details go through the cracks. And then there were a couple of places in the doorway upstairs where it was puffering, not being tight to the point of corner of the doors weren't exposing. That had to go on and be stretched. But overall it was a very good experience. They were very prompt in doing it and courteous.

    I had some carpet installed into my living room and my hallway. I got the carpet from Empire Today because of the color and the product was fine. I only have a problem with the siding that they took off before they put the carpet down. That was not replaced as well as I thought it should be. But everything else is fine. My new flooring met my expectations. They did a good job. They did it within the time period that they said. I would tell my friends to try Empire. Atleast with them I had someone to come out and talk to me and show me the different products.

    My Gutters that Empire Today installed clogged up. Empire Today said they do not do gutters anymore and they will not honor what they advertise, to clean out for free. Don't do business with them. Not trustworthy.

    Empire Today installed laminate flooring in our kitchen, hallway, playroom, and living room and we like its style and color. Compared to other brands that we looked at, the cost was higher through Empire but it was a convenient payment plan. The installation was a huge job and the installers did well. But it took them extra days of time for the contractors to get it done because of the manufaturer's fault when the product in the box they sent was wrong. The installers worked the week before Thanksgiving and took them five days to get it done. But considering the mess up made by the manufacturer, it was done in a timely manner. Empire did a great job and they knew their product well.

    I bought some linoleum flooring and carpet from Empire Today. I made a phone call to them and they sent a salesman out to talk to me. I have also talked to some people at Lowe's and gotten some prices from them, and Empire Today beat their prices. He did a good job of telling me about the information about the carpet and the flooring, so that's what made me decide to purchase from them. I really like the look of the products that I have bought. The installation guys were also great. They were very friendly, quiet and very clean. They didn't leave a mess. They went in and they prepped and cleaned the area and pulled all the old flooring up. Then they put the new stuff down. It was very thorough and very quick. I was impressed with the way they did it.

    I’ve heard that Empire Today was very reasonable, and they were. They were great, and I was very happy.     Our experience with Empire was very poor. After meeting with our rep, we contacted our rep with additional questions and he did not respond until the day before installation with an excuse, not answers. We were bumped from our installation at 10 am on the scheduled day. We had our house ready which means total disruption and I took a day of vacation to be there. We were rescheduled for eight days later, the day before Thanksgiving. We requested to be the first installation of the day and they said they would try. We believed it would happen. Not hearing anything on the day of installation, we called at 10 am and were told they would be there at 2 pm. The installers were in contact with us at that point and continued to push out installation. The installers finally arrived at 7 pm and left at 12:15 am on Thanksgiving Day. Neither our rep or Empire contacted us to see if we had issues or concerns.

    A week after the installation I called Empire. After a one hour wait on hold, I talked to a supervisor who said that the lateness of the installation was on us once we agreed to have them come. This is not the outstanding customer service they tell everyone they have. Within 9 hours, we had a snag in our Berber carpeting. The room had Berber for twenty years prior without a single snag. The carpeting is of inferior quality. One month later, we have a second snag. We requested an inspection and someone came out on Dec 7. He looked at the snag and cut the snag away. I showed him a piece of the previous carpeting. He tugged at it until he was able to pull something up. It was obvious that the previous carpeting was much more durable. The Empire carpeting is only glued to the backing and it is not a strong glue. After the inspection we received no communication.

    I called during the day and left a message on 12/21 with Jared who scheduled the inspection. I did not receive a return call. I again called on 12/27 and Jared was able to pull up the report indicating it was completed, just never communicated. The report says the snag was caused by a pet and therefore nothing will be done. The materials are inferior. Twenty plus years of Berber with zero snags. One month with Empire carpet and two snags. Inferior carpet. We talked with several Empire representatives and the general attitude was they will not do anything to make things right.

    At one point I was told they could cancel the contract and not come at all just because it suits them. At this time of year, we would not have been able to get another contractor in before Christmas. If less than one star were an option, we would give them that. I could say much more about the inconvenience caused by Empire and the lack of responsiveness and communication. I do not recommend Empire. Pay a little more and get quality service and carpeting.

    Empire Today had a really nice promotion going on and I had them install carpet and bathroom tiles for me. They did a family room, a bedroom, and a closet. There's not that much tilework but it was really nice, and the carpet was in the right color. The flooring met my expectations. The installers did everything and it was okay although I had a bit more cleanup to do when they left. I had to call them back also. They had missed a couple of spots that needed to be done. I was hoping to have a threshold from the bathroom tile to the carpet but they advised against doing that, and I don’t know why because I'm going to probably put one down myself. They said it was a good fit between the tile and the carpet but I'm used to having thresholds anywhere there's a change in the carpet. Nevertheless, they were good people to work with. Just watch and make sure everything is done the way you want it done.

    I had hardwood floor installed by Empire Today. They’re very competitive and really driven by customer service. The salesman was good, very professional and very knowledgeable. The customer service was also good. My flooring is fine and I like it. However, the wood floor popped up. I called and left a message but the person didn’t call me back. Nobody has called to finish it so that’s my problem. When somebody buys your product, in a short time, they should be able to at least come and check and see, “Are you okay?” because that something they’re putting came off the wall on the surface, and the filling is now for three or four weeks since they did the installation. So, it’s not good.

    When somebody comes to my house, I have to take it and hide it somewhere. It’s a small piece that somebody could have stopped by and just nailed it down. Quality control needs to be done to make sure that we’re all on the same page. Customer service and quality control are very important. If somebody paid $10,000 or $22,000 to install the floor, call them back and say, “Hey, you know, I want to make sure everything is happy, happy with you.” My experience with Empire Today is excellent because of communication. They’re good people but they need to do better.

    Empire Today had the best deal so I had them install a hardwood floor in the family and dining rooms. The installation went well but the transitional features are too big and I almost tripped over them the other day. The installer only had one piece and didn't consider using larger or smaller ones. There was also a floating issue. They could get the float down the exact of what it would be. Nonetheless, I'm pleased with their product and everything looks really nice. I would recommend them.

    Empire Today installed oak flooring in a utility room in our kitchen, in a long hall with closet at the end of it, in a good sized den and in two bathrooms. I've thought about doing the floor for 20 years before I finally had it done and we were very pleased with Empire Today. I was doing a ballpark when I told other companies what I wanted, even though I knew about what it's going to be, but they couldn't give me a really close estimate. Then the Empire Today's salesman came out and he was really good, especially in taking measurements which I was glad to see. He then gave me the estimate and the cost.

    For the installation, two guys came and they were miracle workers. They were super nice and very friendly but all business. They did the work for two days so I was very pleased. However, my daughter got a splinter nearly two inches long when she was barefoot at the kitchen sink but she was not injured. Still, I'm very happy with the way the flooring looks and my husband loves it. I prefer carpets and I don't like hard floors but I grew up with hardwood. And so I've told myself that I'm going to dust myself to death, but I like the flooring very much. Everybody loves the result. The cost and quality of Empire's products were very nice. I'm very satisfied and I would recommend them highly.

    We had already done the downstairs area before with Empire Today and their representative, Clint, was the one who we did it with. I still had his card, so I called him for a laminate flooring project for the bedrooms and hallway upstairs. I looked at other companies for this new project but Empire Today was the one that I really wanted. I have a dog and I chose something that had at least a little grain in it because of our dog’s paws. The only thing I hate is they no longer had the exact floor that we used downstairs, so we had to change it. It’s still cherry but it’s different. I tried to look around for something that’s closest to install upstairs. It was still okay, though, and I love it. The flooring is great and I like what this company does. They get in here and they get it done.

    A moving company messed up on moving in my house and damaged the floor I had. They had to replace it and they recommended Empire Today. Empire had a third party contractor do the laminate flooring in our laundry room. The product looked nice and I’m fine with the people who installed it. However, I’m not used to having a third party contractor and I would question using them again for that reason. Hence, because they are a third party contractor, I would not recommend them.

    My main concern was installing my carpets BEFORE CHRISTMAS... The salesman told me that they guarantee installation BEFORE CHRISTMAS, he even told me that if it wasn't installed BEFORE CHRISTMAS it would be free. Well was told that the installers were arriving on Saturday morning so I took off work that day. Well I got a phone call at 6AM that morning saying that the installers will be at my property within an hour or two... An hour or two went by... Still no installers... 3 4 hours went by... Still waiting.

    Finally at hour 5! This lady that did not sound like she cared at all told me that they were not coming because it was raining... Mind you that at the time of the phone call it was not raining. So NO carpets installed BEFORE CHRISTMAS and no courtesy call after they supposedly decided they couldn't come to install even though I was their first customer on their list for the day AND complete disregard for the day I missed from work and disregard for the claim of guarantee BEFORE CHRISTMAS or free job. Home Depot or Lowe's here I come.

    I went straight to Empire Today when I purchased my flooring. I just want to take a chance and didn't want to call a bunch of people coming in, and giving me quotes and going through a lot of companies. I didn't want to go through any hassle, I just wanted somebody to come here and give me a price and since their price was reasonable, I said okay. So far, I love the smell of the new flooring. I also love its color and texture, and how it holds up and how it feels. Additionally, I'm impressed with their salesperson. His name is Dejounte and he made me feel that I was the customer.     I had carpet and hardwood installed almost 10 months ago for the living room. I had good luck with Empire, installation wise and the pricing was better. I went to Home Depot and Lowe’s and looked at what they had. They had good products but when they finally got quotes, they were higher than I thought it would be. I also figured Empire wouldn’t have what I needed. But then the salesperson was very good, and we worked on it. Then once you price it out, I was surprised. It was virtually half of the next offer that I was looking at, about 60% of the bid from Lowe’s. I’m sure the product selection that I made, even though the color was great, was a lower conceptual quality product, but it didn’t matter. At the end of the day, the color was right and the material was good. I saved a lot of money this time around.

    I liked the professional sales system that they have at Empire. I’m a big fan of a field sales person who can handle it well in the home with samples. The professional field staff that measures and gives you color choices and prices things out. That stuff doesn’t really exist anymore that often. I also liked their professional installers. They come in, they pull it out, they’re neat, they’re orderly, they’re fast, and they’re on time. From there, the products become really secondary. But for me, the products were of great color, beautiful, really nice, touch and feel, so I’m happy all the way around with Empire.

    The installation was done in two hours. But from the time we started the process was happening, it took about a month. The installation came in two phases. There was only one mistake they made, which it turns out, worked to my favor. They showed up to install with the right carpet, but the wrong pad. They had already pulled up the old carpet but it gave me an opportunity. I needed to do something with the subfloor. It worked out great in the end because I had to have the flooring removed by carpenters and replaced. Then they came back, so it worked out okay. Check out Empire’s offerings before you buy anywhere else. Walk around, look at the products, get some pricing, and then meet with Empire.

    I saw Empire’s advertisement on TV and it was half price. They had laminate flooring installed in the living room. The flooring was easy to take care of and it has a longevity to it. When the salesman sold it to me, he told me the color of the trim would be matching but it didn’t match when they put the flooring in. My floor was a darker brown and my walls are mint green so white trim was just too much.

    The salesman said it was his mistake and that he checked the wrong box and he said he’ll take care of it. They came back and went to the warehouse and looked for something that would match fairly well. A couple of weeks later, they found the right one to match. Also during installation, they moved the furniture, took the old carpet, and cleaned up after themselves. I was very happy and I already recommended them to two other people.

    I had my floors done by Empire Today. They put in hardwood flooring in two bedrooms, and so far, they are both good. The only problem I have is that my existing hardwood floor was glued down. But when the Empire guys came out, they didn’t do that. Instead, they put it down like a layer of foam sheet and they put it on top of that. I don’t like that because it makes a hollow sound when I walk on it while the glued floors don’t make that sound. I would much rather have them glued. Nevertheless, the man who did the work was fabulous. I can’t say anything at all that’s bad about him. I would tell friends that they're a good company, but they should make sure exactly how the work is going to be done, how the installation is going to go before they sign anything.

    We had three salespersons from Empire Today but the first one was honest and fair compared to the other two, and he was the reason I used Empire. I had Empire install carpet in the stairway and the upper bedrooms. And there were two bedrooms, a den, and a hallway that were installed with flooring. The only thing I was a little disappointed with was that the day when the flooring in the kitchen was being installed, and the contractors brought in the product, it didn’t have the name of what Empire presented to me. It was presented to me as an Empire product when in fact I can buy the same product from other places. Empire made it sound like it was exclusively Empire when it was not. And when I called to find out about the product, nobody seemed to want to talk to me or get back with me.

    Also, I wasn’t impressed that I got three different prices for the same product that I picked. And then, someone called me afterward and gave me a cheaper price than the product that I had. It was so weird. I'll be calling Empire to tell them that I’ve had a quote from their sales rep that was cheaper than what we actually paid. The installers did their job, though. And I was very satisfied with them.

    Empire Today installed an engineered hardwood floor in our home office. We were planning on having it installed by Lowe’s Home Improvement store because our previous floors in the house had the same exact flooring that Lowe’s had in stock. So, we contacted them and arranged for them to take measurements and for an installation day but they kept dropping the ball on and off, and they had no idea what was going on. They couldn’t find the supplies they needed for installation. They scheduled a time and didn’t show up. It was a nightmare.

    I was tired of dealing with Lowe’s and so I called Empire to come out, do an estimate and bring out some samples. I was desperate to get this floor installed before we had to move things in. They told me, “We would get it installed for you on the next day, if you want us to.” So, a lady came out and brought in some flooring samples. I had picked out one of them but there must have been some kind of miscommunication or confusion. I specifically said that I only wanted to see hardwood floor samples so she brought in this particular floor that I loved. The color’s great and everything matches. It was perfect. She quoted me a very reasonable price which was cheaper than Lowe’s so I was very pleased.

    It wasn’t until after she left the house when I was looking at a photo that I had taken of the flooring sample next to the floor that I realized that it was laminate and I did not want that so I was very disappointed and. I called her that night and she was very apologetic. The next day, I had to call the customer service line because I was going to cancel the installation. They asked me if I was sure because they could take more money off of the price. They had it down to $1,000, which was super cheap. I said that they’re really helpful but I didn’t want laminate floors. They had to be hardwood floor.

    I also told her, “Look, I’m looking on your website right now and I have the engineered hardwood floor options that are pulled up. Here’s this one that I found, it’s like butterscotch something. By all appearances, it looks like it is very close to the other floors and what I’m looking for. The planks are an inch wider but I can deal with that. So, I need this installed really, really, really, really quickly. So, is this possible? I don’t have time for somebody else to come out to the house and show me more samples and measurements. Is it possible for me to just go ahead and purchase this product?” If they showed up and I put the hardwood floor down next to the other rooms that I was comparing it against and if it was nothing like it, I was going to cancel it on the spot and get a full refund. She said that wouldn’t a problem.

    The installation team came out the next morning and brought all of the supplies and wood they needed. I did a comparison. They took out several planks out to me and laid them down so I could see how it was going to look. Eventually, as I had hoped and expected, I was satisfied with how it looked. I went ahead with the installation and they were very courteous. They were very ready to do whatever it was going to be, whether it was the installation or the cancellation.

    I was really impressed by the installation team. Everything worked out very well. The quality of the wood was superior and the cost was the same compared to other brands so it was a wise way to do that. When I walk on the floor, I tend to feel like the actual wood is real, solid and sturdy. The color and the grain are very nice as well and I like its durability. The floor doesn’t get scratched easily. We moved a bunch of boxes and shelves across it very shortly afterwards it was installed and I didn’t see any signs of any kind of distress on it so it held up very nice. We have other floors that I’m going to be replacing in the future and I’m very likely to end up with Empire Today to do it as well because they handled everything so well. They’re a company who can show that they are willing to own a mistake and do whatever they can to remedy it.

    I had a carpet runner for my stairs installed by Empire Today. It took a while to get it installed. The installer was very pleasant but getting it to that point was a little difficult. The saleswoman that I ordered the runner from didn’t return my call when I was having a problem as well. At one point, she told me that the salespeople didn’t have anything to do with the installation which I thought was rather dropping the ball. Empire should be careful who they use as installers.

    In the carpets that were laid in the three bedrooms, the installer tried to charge me extra from Empire on removing certain things that were part of the contract. That was not cool so I called my salesperson. She came over and sorted that one out for me but she should not have done that. Fortunately, she did not live very far away. She was very efficient but I think she's no longer with Empire. Even so, the cost and quality were fine. The color of the carpet was also neutral. The carpet that was installed in the bedrooms is basically a kid-friendly one. Also, the carpet cleans easily. My cleaning people have not mentioned issues with any of it. I would definitely use Empire again.

We probably paid a little bit more than we needed to pay and got a little bit sub-par materials as a result but they got the job done. Their installers were good to work with.     I had some wood floors installed by Empire Today. I also had the bedrooms done by Empire Today about five years ago and now I just had the hallway, living room, and dining room done. They did a good job and the floors are easier to keep clean. However, the floors are not as good as the ones that I have in the bedroom. The bedroom floors have better colors. Also, there’s a little, tiny piece over the top of the flooring that is kind of broken up or peeled off. I thought I should let Empire Today know in case that starts to peel more. I don’t want to have to spend money to have that area replaced. Even so, I'm happy with the floors.

    I had Empire come out and measure my downstairs. I was approved for financing and I did like the sheet vinyl I had picked out. Gave my deposit and set a date for December 21st installation day, I really wanted to the floor down before Christmas. Empire was the only flooring place that had “promised” me that my floor would be in before Christmas. I’m self employed, so I rearranged my entire work day for Empire to come out on the 21st. I also moved my furniture to make the process as easy as possible. No one ever showed up to do my floors!! Also I never received a phone call stating why no one showed up! I was told first thing that morning it was a 2-day job when I was told originally it was a 1-day job. I explained to the woman I had only arranged for 1 day, not 2 days. She proceeded to tell me that I wasn’t supposed to even be on their schedule, they were “squeezing” me in.

    Not my fault, I was given a day by the sales rep so that’s the day I scheduled. The manager, staff and supervisor in the Charlotte location were extremely rude and was in no way trying to fix the situation. I have gotten excuse after excuse and no resolution. I recommend you looking elsewhere for new flooring and don’t risk a PTO day, sick day or a day of no pay to sit around and wait on nothing. For a corporation to be as big as they are and have no idea how they dropped the ball and all they are doing is “trying” to cover themselves so they don’t look bad. Empire also offers next day installation, which is false advertisement due to the fact I was already waiting a week for installation and to not have anyone show up on top of that. I was told that the next day available for my installation was a whole week later, after Christmas!! Do not waste your time!!

    My contract with Empire Today was to install hardwood in my family room and carpets in my 2 bedrooms, upstairs hallway and my staircase but the hardwood installer could not put hardwood because floor (uneven) which needed to be fixed by general contractor according to him, I told him I could not afford to fix it now to go ahead and put back my carpet and furniture to dismay he damaged my carpet, my grieve and upset is that I had perfect and expensive carpet in that family room which is downstairs. I wanted to complaint my downstairs living, hallway and dining room which already have hardwood, the installer Empire sent to my house damaged my carpet beyond use, I contacted Empire numerous times but the supervisor assigned to my case has not been helpful.

    My contract I signed never include carpet in the family room , I was told by Empire staff one of them that contacted me was that the carpet they installed now in the family room is to replace the damaged. I never chose any carpet. They told the carpet installer who put the carpets upstairs to use the same carpet downstairs, now they are charging me $650.00. I will not put cheap carpet in my family, I did not sign any contract regarding this carpet, why am I being charged. Ms. Michelle ** one their supervisor left a message on my voice after numerous conversations with her saying I do not have to pay since I did not sign a contract none chose any carpet of my choice. This my frustration, this is a rip off. I need positive resolution.

    I was looking for a reputable company and I ended up with Empire Today. However, it was a little let-down that Empire Today wasn’t very specific in talking about the product. Purchasing from them was okay but the sales people need to tell the customer that carpets sometimes can have a different color. It might be light brown but when you rack them it comes the other way and can be even a lighter brown. You end up with a different sheen that you thought you would get because the carpet has two tones to it and they did not inform me about that so I did not appreciate that part.

    When I did bracken the carpet, I did not like the sheen that I got. I had some problems with the product and they cancelled in the last minute but I got some reservations. I get suspicious when the company tells me that they don’t have the product anymore and that they got to give me something different. I’m very easy about that and I always see that as a bait and switch. However, the installation and the crew were good and the crew knew what they were doing.     I had two places done by Empire Today. We’re selling one of the houses, and I’m doing something with the other one. We just needed to have things covered because the houses are getting sold. The two different crews who came out were both good, and they told me that they may have to come back because it's 70 degrees at the other house and I don't have heat. They told me that they may re-stretch the carpet for nothing if it starts to buckle because of the temperature, and that was kind of nice.

    The other thing was that they took the screw out and they did not put the vent back in. And then when I went to put the vent back in, the rug did not quite cover that. They may have to come back and do that bottom step again. But I am not in a panic mode about it. After all, they did a very nice job and I can’t say anything bad about them, except that when I saw that, there was nothing I could do about it because the rug did not quite cover the hole. Nevertheless, overall, everybody was fine and I would recommend them.

    My house needed flooring everywhere and Empire Today offered discounts, 50 percent off of everything, including the installation, products, and accessories. There were two groups of professional installers and we had carpet and vinyl in all but one bathroom in the house. When the salesman was here and sold everything, the project had all the rooms, and when the final guy came to install, it didn’t include my upstairs bathroom and closet. When the poor guy came out to do the project, he said it’s not an order and I said it should be. I was attacking him, but I knew it was not his fault. Plus, the price was off, and they had to come back a week later. I had those two days off specifically to get my flooring done, and I had to make arrangements for someone to be here the next week.

    Also, the guy told me I would have quarter rounds everywhere, and when the installer got here, he said he can’t put the floor over the vinyl that we have because it was in too bad a condition, so we had to wait and get approval for him to strip it out. That was done at no additional cost and Empire Today made good on it, but it was frustrating that everything wasn’t done in a day, than I had anticipated. The nice guy who did the vinyl was with his wife, and they were great. He was very professional and helpful with any questions I had. At that time, I was also getting a pantry built and doing a lot of things, and if I asked him to do extra, I feel he would have done that.

    Please be certain that my problem has not and will not be resolved. The sales person lied to me about the product he sold me. Turns out it's 100% guaranteed to be waterproof all the way up until it gets water on it. Floor is coming up and I'll soon be tripping over the raised gaps between the tiles. So do we not mop with liquid these days? Ridiculous. Bad product, misrepresented by an untrained sales rep and poor installation. I could have done a better installation myself. I am not someone who can afford to throw money away like this! Keep shopping and don't risk your flooring solutions to these guys. It's an expensive and time consuming gamble.

    Lay tile and grout in 5 rooms and hallway. - This job is going on 2 1/2 weeks with my husband and me taking off several day. Tile was laid and was satisfactory but the entire experience was lousy. Work order showed installer was to move heavy furniture. First day there was only 1 installer. Next day he brought a female installer to help. Then he brought another male installer to help. The Installation manager should have done this from beginning. Once the lead instructor wanted me to sign off right then. I was at work. He advised he didn't work on Sat/Sun so I advised he could come Mon at 6:30p after I got home from work. Rushed home and he didn't show or call Mon or Tues and today's Wed.

    There are areas throughout the house that grout was not put, one of my existing tile was nicked in two places, Tile doesn't appear to be made anymore, several room that had heavy furniture were not put back. After the no show, my husband and I are continuing to move the beds into position and I was almost hurt in taking furniture down in the study that was stacked on each other. The installer left his tools in my garage and patio. I want them gone.

    I want some of my money back for the frustrations I've endured because there didn't seem to be a plan of how the work would be done, the completion date would be and who would do it. I made several calls to the Salesman and Customer Service early on to get the job done right the first time to eliminate re-work. I wound up being the Project Manager. Also, I don't work for Empire but had to do the Installer's work in moving furniture, looking at some tiles that weren't fully grouted, grout on my existing tile that was not removed. Now my husband and I need the bed back in the Master bedroom. But when it was originally moved by Empire they took the frame out of one side and we have to break the bed down to fix it before we moved it.

    Installer stated on first day he needed the full amount per Empire. Empire ran the check to see if good and it has been cashed. I was told I would have to sign off when the job was complete satisfaction. Didn't happen because Installer was a no show on day and time we agreed. I didn't know any one else to call about this. I guess my next step will be to send my review to Empire's Corporate Office to get this job completed in a professional, expedient manner, get a refund of some of the money where my husband and I did the Installers' work, and sign off to get this job off the books. A Very Unhappy Empire Customer!!!!

    We chose to go with Empire Flooring after Lowe's wanted to charge 40.00 for a consult fee and Empire came out for free. The quote was very reasonable for the quality of carpet so we decided to go with them and as the installation date grew closer, we got more excited. We are getting close to Christmas and were stoked about getting our new carpet before all the family came in. This past Thursday the guys showed up. Right off the bat we began to lose confidence. We have a fairly steep driveway but it isn't terrible. I have backed very heavy trailers and trucks down with no issues, but I can see where it can be daunting for someone who isn't used to it.

    The guys wouldn't back down the driveway and after phone calls back to corporate, they decided to make it work. Much to my wife's chagrin, the answer ended up being rolling our new carpet out from the street down our driveway. It's the fall and there are leaves, dirt and we have three dogs... We weren't thrilled with that. But, the two guys were pleasant and once they got started, seemed to be doing a really good job so we began feeling a little better about it. Toward the end of the job we were told they didn't have enough carpet to do our stairs. Not the installers fault, they weren't the ones who measured. (We had to pay in full at the beginning of the installation mind you...).

    They assured us someone would call the next day to schedule the stairs to be done. My wife did speak to someone the next day and scheduled it for today, Tuesday the 19th. Yesterday, Monday, I got a call telling me they would have to reschedule for tomorrow. After a lively discussion about our tight timeline, they agreed to keep the original make up day (today). The installers called about 2 to say they would be here between 5:00 and 5:30. No one showed and no one called. I called corporate back. They apologized and said someone would call me to reschedule in one to two business days.

    Tomorrow is Wednesday and our family is coming in Friday. This was supposed to be done last week. I am not too optimistic now that my home will be ready in time. Every business has bad days and has subs that drop the ball. I get that and my bad experience so far may not be an accurate reflection of how Empire handles customers as a whole. However, at this stage, how my situation is handled over the next couple days will be a fairly thorough reflection of them. I will write a follow-up when all is said and done to share how Empire did or did not make this right.

I was very comfortable with him because he wasn’t trying to push me to get something that’s expensive. He was helping me get something I could afford. I’m on a fixed income and I had to get something that I could afford. I can’t really afford it but I can deal with it.

    The floor is easy to work with. All I need to do is sweep the thing and it sucks right up the dust. It is really nice. You look like you’re in a different place. It’s beautiful.     I originally wanted to have hardwood flooring but Empire Today wasn't able to do that because I would have gone through quite a transformation and had a carpenter involved, so we changed it back to just putting a carpet in my living room and bedroom. The installers were great, they worked steady, they were in and out in the determined time period. They were also friendly and they talked about what they were doing. The flooring is great and they had a good price too.

    However, it would be nice for Empire Today and the installers to communicate a little better because the installers came at the initial appointment and I was supposed to be called on my cell number but my number was not given to them. My home number was the only thing on the account. I was only 2 minutes away but I did not know that they were at the house at 9:30 and the only way that I knew was when I happened to call from work. I called my message line at home and I got the installers' message. It put them having to come back at a different date. They were scheduled to come on a Tuesday or a Wednesday and they wound up having to do it on a Saturday of all day because it was their next available schedule.     We had Empire Today install vinyl planks for our home's two bedrooms, two closets, a bright room that’s a den, as well as a dining room and kitchen combination. Their quality is the same as some of the others we looked at, but we were very impressed with the gentleman who came out and explained the different floorings to us. Plus, the product was exactly what we had been looking for. We were also very pleased that they had one price that covered everything.

    The rep was very professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and understanding. We told him exactly what we were looking for and he showed us several different options. He also explained every option to us before backing off to let us make our own decision. In one of those sample cases that he opened, there was a picture of a room that's almost like our kitchen and we were able to see exactly what it was going to look like. It was very helpful in making our decision. We were super impressed with the two young men who came out to install our flooring. They were the hardest working and most efficient young men we have seen working in a long time.

    We love the colors and the usefulness of the vinyl planks. We got rid of the carpets that we hated. Our new flooring is easy to take care of and I love that I can mop it before steaming it.     I had 3 bedrooms carpeted and 1400 sq ft of laminate put in my house. Carpet installers had to come back to pound down the nails since the first set of guys failed to do so. I was told it would take one day to install my laminate and it ended up taking them 2. I wasn't able to be there the second day but after returning to look at the floor, at first glance it looked great. And then I noticed drop marks, scratches and chips out of the wood ALL OVER. There is no way the installers could have missed these things while installing. There are black marks all over the flooring from their mallets and pieces aren't locked together appropriately and some are even loose and coming apart. They also didn't have the appropriate material to finish the job and had to put the wrong transition piece from my hall into a bathroom. I was told someone would be calling me to set up a time to have it fixed but surprise no one called!

    They do not use their own installers and they CONTRACT OUT THEIR INSTALLERS. The customer service I have gotten from a company that prides themselves on having a good rating with the BBB has been absolutely HORRIBLE. I was told at least 80% of my flooring will need to be replaced and that it can take up to 2 weeks to get the report from the inspection when the inspector told me it would be 24hrs and that he would submit the report the next morning. I am absolutely disgusted with the company and would love for them to just remove all flooring and refund me all of my money and I would LOVE to pay a little more for a local company who values their customer. DO NOT USE EMPIRE IF YOU ARE IN THE MILWAUKEE AREA!!! Other areas may have better luck... I was told the office here just opened.

    I checked Empire Today and the price sounded okay so I jumped into it because I wanted my floors done. With the guy that I dealt with first, everything was great. Chris was the guy who brought the product out to the house and we had a good visit, talking and discussing. He said the installers were good workers but it sounded like the majority of them are from different countries and nationalities, and it’s really hard to communicate with some of them.

    The carpeting was installed in my living room and two bedrooms, and the vinyl plank was installed in the kitchen and the dining room. The installers had pulled my stove out and put it back in again, and I noticed that I’ve got white marks on the edge of my stove now, right in the front. There are three spots where the paint was taken off, though I won’t hold that against them.

    However, there was a big scratch on the vinyl plank in my dining room floor. The installers left on Thursday and I didn’t notice it until Saturday because I was gone all day on Friday. On Saturday morning, I was going around my mop and then I found this scratch and I didn’t want it to get worse with mopping and scrubbing. It’s an area where I don’t walk over very much and that may be why I didn’t notice it right away. You have to be almost right on top of it before you could see it and when you're there, it stands out like a sore thumb.

    I called to report it but I got the runaround. Nobody was answering or returning my calls and I wasn’t getting anywhere with anybody. I made a comment to Chris and I shouldn’t have made that remark because I really liked him. Then he wouldn't talk to me anymore or let me explain. He doesn’t return my calls, which I wish he would because I don’t want him to have those feelings. But I thought he didn't want anything more to do with me once he got his money. I didn't want to think that way but when nobody returns your call, you get discouraged. I tried several numbers before they came out and replaced the plank. Also, the other day when I was down on my hands and knees wiping up the floor, I found that a little corner of one of the sections is turned up a little bit. I also like their cost and that everything just went through automatically and I've sent in my first payment. My designer also said they were courteous, kind and they did the work so beautifully.     The Empire General Manager contacted us and put down a new floor for us. He sent his best installation crew and they delivered. Steve and his crew to put down a new floor , they did a great job. Now thanks to you, and them, our experience with Empire has gone from one extreme to the other. I appreciate the time and effort you put in to help us solve our issues. Our house is getting back to normal and the floor is beautiful. My suggestion to the company would be to give more oversight to their installers and sales team. The salesman made promises that turned out to be untrue and the first installers were not professional. I am grate the General Manager made good on Empire's product.

    On Dec. 7, 2017 we signed a floor purchase and installation contract for vinyl sheet flooring in our 12’X24’ den and galley kitchen and small laundry room with Empire during a visit from your sales representative, Albert **. The installers came the next day Dec. 8, 2017 at 10:30 AM and took up the carpet and pad spread a ‘flattening compound’ over the subfloor. They then laid the vinyl flooring and installed quarter round molding around the perimeter of the installed vinyl. The installers left hurriedly at 6 PM, without cleaning the floor properly. After the installers left we had a chance to better examine the installation and what we discovered was not good.

    When the installers mixed the leveling compound on our carport there was spillage and consequently the compound was smeared all over our carport. During the installation the installers tracked the compound residue into the house onto the new vinyl and resulted in the compound residue becoming embedded into the wood grain texture on the vinyl flooring. The installers did a cursory wipe down of the floor using a wet towel which they rinsed in our kitchen sink getting the residue in our drain pipes and stopping up our sink. As you look at our floors the residue is still visible after two cleaning attempts. The installers were sloppy with the glue, getting splatters of glue on our oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, our newly painted walls and baseboards.

    When the installers installed the quarter round they left unmitred corners and gaps. There are also foot long indentations where there was not enough compound put down to fill the cracks in the sub-floor. We have taken pictures of the damage so you can see for yourself. The picture attachment is just a sampling of the damage, but if you need to see all the pictures we can send them. As I read the contract, on pg. 9, Empire promises a professional installation…

    When we saw all the damage done to our home by the Empire installers, my wife called customer service, and they said we would hear from them within a day. We got no response from customer service, so the next night, Dec. 8, my wife called the sales rep. Albert **. When my wife started telling him all the problems we had found he abruptly cut her off, and told her he would call his supervisor and to call customer service.

    We called customer service and eventually they put us in contact with Aaron, your Installation Manager, he sent another crew to do a second cleaning. They did come and they did clean our appliances and attempted to clean the floor residue but it still remains (as you will see in the pictures). My daughter tried to get the residue up with vinegar and water but was unsuccessful. Aaron suggested trying to clean it with Mineral Spirits but my wife cannot breathe the fumes and at this point we don’t want any chemicals which may be toxic to be used. So, you can see our predicament. We paid for and expected ‘all work performed in a professional manner’. This unfortunately did not happen. We have been left with a mess, a week before Christmas. We don’t feel we can put up a Christmas tree or decorations until this is resolved.

The salesman was nice, professional and completely ok, the installers were the same but these were contractors not employed by Empire Today but subbed out to do the work! We have no beef with the contractors, they did their job, Empire is a different story! No follow up, no call, no nothing! We have 3/4 of our wood plank vinyl installed and have no idea when it will be finished! They ran out of material, who does that????     I had new flooring put in by Empire Today two months ago. The installers broke the leg on my couch, and did a horrible installation job (sub floor is visible--missing quarter round--and butchered stairway carpet that was NOT being replaced). I notified Empire immediately. After several delays they sent an "inspector" out. I have heard NOTHING from them since then, and they will not return calls or e-mails. My floor looks horrible and I will be stuck paying someone else to come fix it. Do NOT purchase from Empire!

    Empire Today did my original home’s wood flooring and they did a really good job. I went with them again because of that and since their price was good. I got the laminate floors that look like wood and are snapped together. I chose the particular flooring for maintenance since it’s for a rental where I had carpeting on. It has been installed and I checked it out, and there’s a gap between two of the boards.

    I called the installer Friday and he told me he would try to get me scheduled with Empire Today so they can come in and finish the floor. He’s a very nice person and he worked well with the tenants. His team was very polite and they worked fast. They weren’t hanging around wasting time. And so, they finished the job in a timely manner and that was really good. They were very reliable people and I appreciate that. I would definitely recommend Empire Today. As a matter of fact, I have some other rentals that I’m going to do and I’d probably be contacting them to do those for me.

    The quality of our old carpet, which was installed by the builders, was very poor and we wanted something plusher, so we decided to change it.     Empire Carpet Company: The salesman was great. Went over contract with husband and myself. Visited with us on two occasions, because we eventually wanted entire house recarpeted, but we're only getting two rooms done at this time. We discussed pg 10 of contract where we will pay after work is substantially done. We only wanted to see a portion of the kitchen done, they were to do the kitchen, bath, foray, hallway. The contractor told us he couldn't take anything out of the truck until he received the check balance. I called customer service. Spoke with Jessica, very rude young lady. Asked for her mgr. Says she's the manager, asked for her manager, then transferred to Kyle ** the installation manager, who also had an attitude telling me that, that pg of the of the contract was incorrect, the salesman shouldn't have told me that.

    I asked for his manager Heather. He said she wasn't there but I would, transfer me to her and I would receive my deposit back, I told him, "You'd rather lose $10,000.00 than allow me to see a portion of my kitchen done." He said yes. Instead of transferring me to Heather general manager he hung-up on me. I told him before he hung up on me, "We had over 50 other companies we could have chosen but, we choose you and this is how you treat your customers!!" Yet, he still hung up... Never again, I'll chose someone closer to my home in my state. Get the refund of my deposit as promised. Without penalties and be done forever with EMPIRE!!

    I have a carpet recently installed by Empire Today. My friend had it and I wanted the same carpeting that was put in their house. I was not satisfied with the rep. He said I couldn’t get what I wanted so I had to get something else. I was under the understanding that the carpet was a full-length, big version but it was not what I was looking for at all. I gave the people that came in a peek of the carpet that I wanted and what my friend had ordered through Empire Today. I also gave them the sales contract, the make, the description and the manufacturer.

    The whole problem I had with Empire Today was the communication. It was horrible and the worst thing there was. Every person I talked to gave me a different story. They don’t have any communication from the sales rep to the inner workings. I was always told that the make and model was not available. But all of a sudden it was available. It was back ordered and I was able to get exactly what I wanted miraculously. We had everything packed up and ready to go for good two months but I had no notice on the installation date. Eventually, they came and the installation was perfecto. I had the best carpet installers I could’ve asked for. They saved the day. I'm very happy with Empire Today but I would tell people about their communication issues. If they have patience, go for it but if they’re on a time limit, don’t.

    I have all windows in my living room and if somebody had walked there before, you see footprints or marks even if you mopped the floor. When the guy came and checked out the room on why it was having so much trouble with accepting the job, he flipped out. He said, "Your problem is not the flooring. You have too much sunshine in here, so it’s going to show everything." I’m OCD and I can’t feel like I got to mop a floor 50,000 times a day. I initially ordered a flooring but that was taken out. They carpeted my house and I’m very happy with the decision they made.

    My total bill was paid off when those boys walked out the door but I got a bill for the entire amount. Aside from that, there was a lot of confusion. I wanted to take before and after pictures so I walked in the room and the fellow working put something down very quickly on this vanity we had where my husband keeps all his medications. A week later, my husband asked me what happened to his pain medicine. He is not a medicine taker so there was a full bottle. But now, the bottle is there but the pills are all gone.

    Then I had a flashback. I got a picture of the dude and I busted him although I didn’t realize I did it at the time. It’s sad that somebody steals on the job especially a drug because I really didn’t suspect him. My husband’s deaf and handicapped. He may have needed those and the fellow didn’t know that. But he was a hell of a worker. He was a very nice and sweet gentleman. Other than that incident, the service was fabulous.

    It was good by the time they were all finished. They also put carpet in my other three bedrooms and luckily, I got a great experience out of them. Plus when I was having trouble, a young man came out, checked on it and fixed it for me. Now we have a beautiful carpet. It’s plush and the padding with the hues are awesome. So far, it’s holding up and we love it. I'm recommending Empire Today to others who need flooring done.

    I recently had vinyl floors installed in my home by Empire Today. The installers did a great job and they put up the trim on the floor. Even my mother said they were very nice. But before that, we had carpet a problem with the carpet and had to call Empire Today. They came and did a good job, but they left the carpet over one of the vents. So I called them and the rep said to take a knife and open it up. But I felt like I shouldn’t have done it. I called him three times and he sounded like he was trying to brush it off and not come over. He didn’t return my call either to say that they're busy.

    I also don’t want to make a big deal but I had a couple of jackets that were missing. Next to where they were working was a room we were renovating. I took the jackets out of the closet the day we installed carpeting and were in a bag in the room we were renovating. I put them right near the entrance to the door. It was getting cold so I started looking for the jackets but they weren’t there. Also the contractors were asking me weird questions and were acting strangely. But overall, they did a good job and we're very happy with the people and the service.

    We bought a house a year ago and the previous owners have a dog and the carpet stunk. I then got Empire Today to install a new carpet in our bedroom because they do the installation right away. I like my carpet and the way they did the business, and I had a good experience with them. However, during the installation, my 50th-anniversary diamond ring got lost. There were four guys and one of them looked kind of suspicious, but I wouldn’t know who he was because they didn’t give me their names, and after they left, I never bothered to look because I trusted them.

    I did not see the guy take it, but I know he had seen it. I have just bought two brand new chest of drawers and one of them has got a security, which you open up the top of it and it’s storage for like extra money or jewelry. And it was where I had it, not thinking that they would pick up that dresser by the top. They did and they’ve seen what all I had in there. My ring laid right there on the right-hand corner, so it would have been nothing for him to reach his hand in and scoop it up.     I went to Lowe’s and I to a place called Remnant City, and the prices were competitive. But there was a time factor for me as I had a couple of days to fix a rental because I had a renter who wanted to come in. I went with Empire and they pulled through for me. They came on time on a Saturday to do the appraisal and then on Monday or Tuesday, we got our carpet put in. They saw everything out, took everything away, cleaned and stood up.

    Because it was a rental, I was trying to keep my cost down to a minimum. The salesperson explained all the carpets and went with a different one on the padding. I was told the carpet I chose would hold up and it was commercial grade. The only thing that I was concerned with was the 50-50-50 off. I thought if I was getting 50% off, then they would take the price off and show the difference but it just came off that they were competitive with the other prices. Other than that, everything went well and I had a good experience.

    Empire requires payment in full prior to allowing installers to begin work. My contract called for hard floors in two rooms and carpet replacement on stairs. Installers only knew how to do hard floors and advised I would need to call to schedule carpet work. Multiple calls for a week resulted only with promise of a return call. No calls were ever returned. Since they are so quick to respond to requests for new work, I scheduled an appointment and had a salesman here the very next day. This was the only way to establish contact with a local person.

    Local sales manager advised that they could not fulfill contract work - salesman should never have included it in my contract. He offered me a ridiculously low refund (his approval level). Multiple calls over the next week finally resulted in a settlement offer I could accept. He told me a check would be cut and mailed that afternoon. As of this review it has been two weeks and no check has been received. Multiple calls assure me that it has been processed. Two days ago he promised he would personally track the issue and respond by the next morning, but I have not heard back from him.

    Buyer beware - you might get lucky and have no issues that require follow up - or you might have problems for which you will never get a timely response, if a response at all. This has been the absolute worse customer service experience I have ever encountered. Empire does not keep promises and do not seem to care. I cannot recommend their company to anyone.

    After installation (The Installers are not responsible for the poor design of the stair system). The stairs make a cracking and popping sound when stepping on them.     Empire Today did my next-door neighbor’s house which was right next to me, and he was happy with the service. So, the following week, I called the salesperson and proceeded with the order. I had Empire Today install carpet in four rooms. The whole house is all wood except for the four bedrooms. In the next bedroom, we got a carpet and that was the only product and service that we needed. That specific carpet was the highest grade they had and we got that because of the salesperson. I had a good experience, but I had to wait 30 days to get the referral fee over at my mother-in-law’s house. I was getting her a carpet for Christmas and we attempted to write a check, but Empire Today told my wife that her driver’s license was not from St. Louis, although it clearly marked the state that it is. I didn’t appreciate that and it was a bad interruption for my mother-in-law’s Christmas gift.

    We paid for our sale by credit card on our own property, and we listed my mother-in-law’s sale in my name and hers. Then we paid a deposit by credit card with the salesperson on my mother-in-law’s property, and the balance would be paid for by check. But when the installation guys got there, all they wanted was a credit card, which I didn’t understand. We talked to the office, and on the phone, they were saying that it was not a Missouri license, which was ridiculous. The salesperson was en route to my mother-in-law’s house. I was at an appointment and my wife called me back and told me she was going to go ahead and finish the transaction. I was going to cancel the whole thing but my wife still got it installed.

    I have a Rolodex and there are about 2,800 people on my phone that listen to me, and I have a business with over 900,000 customers. I sent all these referrals to my neighborhood and Empire Today has installed quite a few of them, and I was very disappointed to go through that. As far as my referral, I haven’t decided yet if I will refer my next-door neighbor. People must understand what they’re buying because there are plenty of choices. If they want a good price, they can get that with the 50-50-50, which was what I got. But if they are really searching beyond just buying from a company, there’s a bit of competition out there.

    The laminate at Lowe’s was a little bit cheaper and I also looked at Lumber Liquidators, but I considered the speed and time the laminate flooring can be installed by Empire Today. Their sales rep was excellent, friendly, and knowledgeable and for what she didn’t know, she contacted her manager. The installers were on time and did an excellent job. They ran out a bit of the product, but one of the installers called and he was back the very next day. The laminate flooring has a really nice color and it gave the whole house a new fresh look, and it's easy to clean. I was pleased with Empire's service and I would recommend them.     The linoleum flooring in the kitchen was installed by Empire Today and the guys who did it did a great job in putting it in. It is straight as an arrow and they went overboard. They forgot to bring the cove molding, so one of the guys asked if it’s okay to take the trim off, which they did. They then put the linoleum down, and it looks fantastic. They’ve done an excellent job. We got a couple of little boo-boos and they came back to look at them. It's just a little hoop plate, but other than that, everything was fantastic. The guys were very professional and they took their time, and I’d recommend Empire Today to anybody.

    First let me say that I love our laminate flooring but I just wish that they would finish the work. They have yet to come back to do the stairs. We are on our second day in a row waiting for Empire Today installers. This is starting to cost us money as we are missing work to make arrangements. Very unhappy customer.

    Updated on 05/17/2018: I had laminate flooring and stairs installed in December 2017. I contacted Empire Today back in February about some of my stairs have came loose. The laminate would rock back and forth so pretty sure that there’s something underneath it. The guys that installed them showed up right before Easter. They tried to remove the stair nose but ended up cracking it. All of the nose pieces are loose and not level. They put some nails into my stairs and told me they would have to return some other time to fix them. I’m still waiting and very, very, very upset!!! I have left several messages with this company asking for when I can get my stairs fixed and have yet to receive the 1st return call. This company is the worst on getting back with you. I just want my damn stairs fix. It’s a safety issue!?? I have more flooring jobs to do but it won’t be done by Empire Today if this is how they conduct their business!

    We picked out our carpet and tile. Tile install didn't happen because it would sit higher than the swing of the back door. Salesman returned and we picked out LVP to be installed. Installers didn't have correct metal piece so that resulted in another appointment. Carpet was put in ok, but installers cracked a foyer tile of mine and I was told it's my problem to fix. I have a claim for it but who is going to come in and replace one tile. Paid for the most expensive padding in one room I did not receive, got linoleum but paid for tile and any calls or attempts to have my bill adjusted have gone unanswered. Install was 11/4 and I have made several calls.

    I will continue to pursue this as I feel I have not gotten what I paid for. No one since 11/4 has rectified anything although everyone tells me they are on it. My last conversation was with my salesman on 11/30 and I have heard NOTHING! Supposedly 50/50/50 sale, I paid 3400.00+ for 2 rooms of carpet. You can't tell me normally that would have cost me 6800 dollars!

    On the surface of it, it seemed like Home Depot would be cheaper. But Empire Today has a decent reputation and I liked the sales rep. I also decided to go with them for the warranty. We had LVP and some carpeting installed. We have kids so the flooring is a high priority. I like that the flooring is LVP. It’s resistant to water damage plus it is durable. However, we didn’t realize when we were looking at samples at how flex the floor was to walk on. We’ve had few accidents where our kids were walking along the floor and have slipped and hurt themselves. The surface has a lower friction than I expected and I would have chosen one differently but, it’s not bad.

    Also, when I was looking at the samples of the pattern, I was under the impression that the pattern was a lot less repetitive than it turned out to be. I’m an engineer who works with kinds of patterns and to me, the patterns jumped out because it was very obvious and easy to identify. There’s a particular plank pattern that we chose that has a certain kind of stylized mark so the pattern itself wasn’t well represented in the samples.

    We were happy with the LVP installers. But, we weren’t happy with the carpet installers for their customer service. Everything was installed improperly or not precisely installed. There’s a crooked cut line leaving too much materials that are hanging over and isn’t stopping where it should be that gives it a handle to lift up. It's noticeable but it doesn’t seem to be getting worse at the moment. I’m aware the fix doesn’t go through the installer and I’d have to go through Empire. So I’m relying on the fact that the warranty is a long time.

The installation went from 5 days to 10 days. They were supposed to call us a day before the installation, and there was no phone call. The next day, I gave them until 11 o’clock to call but nobody did. My wife called and asked what was going on and the person she spoke with said they didn't have us in their system. It was kind of rough but it was because the original sales rep's computer went down and had to do everything manually.     My cousin had Empire do his flooring and I liked it. So we had carpet installed by Empire in our house as well but we got messed up on him getting the $50 referral bonus because they didn’t tell him the right way to do it. I chose my carpet based on the overall look but I’m not too happy with it already. I like the color but they got those little patches and I also didn’t know if it was plush and how plush it was. I can see the footprints and it looks messy. But the installers came on time, cleaned everything up and moved my furniture back fine.

    I also have a problem in the doorway. They put heated tape to keep it next to the other one buckled. And the fellow who did it didn’t check it so about a week later, I stepped on something sharp, it felt like a nail. But they came and replaced it. Another complaint that I have is that I gave them the first down payment and signed everything. Empire Today left just one paper, but there was nothing on there that I gave the down payment. I was a little upset with that because I like to have receipts. Empire Today doesn’t do any paperwork, but do everything on the machines. When they did the whole contract, my neighbor was here. She has a computer so they put it in her email. But then her computer went out and she had no paper, so I never got a copy of my contract. I called them and they finally mailed a copy to me.

    I was looking for a carpet not only because it's pretty, but also it's going to last and get me my money's worth. The Empire Today salesman was very good and they offered me a carpet that was on good sale. I liked it and it seemed like it was durable. It was pretty golden and it had little specks in it. The first time they called me, they had made a scheduled date for the carpet to be installed. The day of installation, I was told that they were trying to contact me and they didn't have the carpet in, but the installation date was already set forth so, I was skeptical.

    If they scheduled me for installation, then they should've told me they have the carpet on hand. I didn't find that out until after I made the arrangements and I had cleaned out my living room. Then I found out that the carpeting wasn't installed and that happened three times. I got mad the second time and they told me the same thing which got me really upset with them. I told them I was going somewhere else and we would be asking for the same rate.

    The salesman called me to see how I liked the carpeting. He was surprised when I told him I didn't have the carpeting yet because they didn't have it in stock and he was upset with it. He was not aware of it and he said that he'd take care of it right away which he did. They called me the third time and the girl from customer service apologized for the mishap and she gave me a discount. The salesman finally called me and set the installation day.

    The installers were excellent, professional and they knew what they were doing. I wondered how they were going to move the big furniture, but they did it like it was nothing. They installed the carpet in the hallway and it was done beautifully. On the other hand, I'm seeing it has a lot of ruffles when I brush it. Shedding carpeting is coming loose. Other than that, I love the carpet. I needed three more carpeting in my living room and three of my bedrooms. I'm waiting to see another good sale on TV and see if I can use the same arrangement. I will be calling them to come back to reinstall. I would recommend Empire Today 100%.

    If you can, do not bother with this company. I had Empire come out with lady to give me a estimate on carpet for my home. This lady was not so friendly and pushy. The consultation began with the needed measurements for my home and viewing of some carpet samples... When I found the color of my choice she typed in some numbers in her tablet and gave me an extremely high price. I told her that I was not paying that amount for the carpet and I will be looking into more estimates. She then went down, again and again to a good deal that I was sold on. Moving on to installation day, Empire came with a young gentleman that looked about 18 years old (if that) and a adult about mid-thirties maybe... They came and put the carpet down which look nice once they were done. But, when they left I found that carpet was not laying right at a threshold that meets into one of my bedrooms.

    I had a repair guy come out to do the repair and they found that the previous installers did not change my carpet padding on the second level of my home. Now if I never would have gotten the repair, I would not have known this even occurred. So, I called Empire again for the second time to report this and I get a runaround until finally I get a set date to have the padding that I paid for installed and they also had to give me new carpet for the second level of my home.

    I can tell you, what a NIGHTMARE!! The issue was fixed but Empire customer service is terrible. With the hassle like this, you would think that they would compensate the customer in some type of way...nope, just a repair and move along. Now I have another issue found with the install and with the customer service department being such a headache, I don't even want to bother! Go elsewhere to get your carpet, laminate done. Ripoff/ higher prices than most and customer service is terrible.

    Installers showed up. Didn’t have all the material, told me it was not part of project, showed them my contract where it was clearly part of the project, they had wrong color trim, told me that was the color we picked, again on my contract it stated it was to be white not rosewood, they immediately said they could not do the floor. Didn’t even try to get material from the shop which was only 30 min away, then I called customer service got the runaround, called the salesmen Pete.

    I recently purchased $7,000 in new floors for my house and nothing but issues...The vinyl has air bubbles everywhere and have seams that were done sloppily. Then they had to shave my doors after they put in a subfloor I did not need. When they shaved the door it is uneven and needs replaced. Looks like a child with a saw got a hold of it. They left the old vinyl in the house and installed new over instead of tearing out as they said they would. Carpet was even worse experience. They scuffed my walls and now need a painter to touch them up.

    They didn’t bother to cut out the vents. I had to and they threw one of my vents away. Luckily I found it. They also never installed the runner on the stairs as they were supposed to and I PAID FOR!!!! And to top it off I've been fighting for three weeks to get someone to fix it and compensate me for the damage and issues and no one wants to call me back or fix their mistakes and I fear I will need to find a lawyer and sue for damages and not providing the service I PAID for! Spend a little more and have it done right. Save yourself the headache.

    Louis, the sales rep who guided my purchase, was not pushy and was very easy to speak to. He went above and beyond by measuring all rooms we were thinking about doing and then listened to me and helped craft a product and plan that was exactly right for my needs. I experienced a hiccup during my installation process whereby I scheduled an installation for a Saturday and unfortunately their truck broke down.     Empire installed laminate flooring in my living room, kitchen, hallway, and master bedroom. The guys that came by and installed were awesome. The guy that sold the flooring to us were awesome as well. However, the follow-through on anything after was horrible. I’m a little disappointed with Empire. I’m supposed to have a lifetime topical moisture warranty on my floors. I have two spots on my floors that have gotten wet and are bubbling. Two weeks ago, this guy was supposed to call my wife back about coming out to replace those sections on my floor. The issue came up under a month of having them installed. I didn’t even have the floors for a month and I called them and they gave me this runaround, so I told them to come by and take the floors out of my house because it was under 30 days.

    They gave some number for the third party company that they use to have the floors installed out at Grand Rapids, Michigan. We explained to that guy what happened and my wife was talking to him that I'm pissed and told Empire to come by and take the floors out. He replied, “We can come out and we can replace that section. Give me a call back to let me know what you guys decide to do.” We decided to just have them come out and replace the floors, and that’ll be the end of it. My wife called them back and he said that he would call her back with the date and the time. But he never did and she has not been able to get a hold of them since.

    It’s absolutely pointless. I don’t understand what the issue is or why we can’t get anybody to call us back. It doesn’t seem to matter how often I call Empire. They won’t get in touch with them. They won’t get in touch with us and now I’m stuck with these bubbling floors that I paid $4,500 for. One of these spots is the cat pissed on the floor and they told me that it doesn't count. But there’s nothing that says anywhere that cat piss isn’t covered.

    When calling for an appt, customer service could not be more helpful, however when I needed them to help me with a problem, they were useless. My blind needed repair under warranty, I was charged 75.00 for them to come to my house. The blind was removed, and almost 3 months later and at least 8 phone call to customer service, I still have no blind. I was told that Empire does not deal with the manufacturer anymore, and I was responsible to have the repair myself. So helpful to get the order, but any problems they are awful! My claim #**. I can not add an image because they still have my blind.

    I previously wrote a review on my experience with Empire Today that was less than favorable. I had issues with lack of remnants left in case of any future emergency, with a screw that was not reinstalled appropriately which allowed my puppy to get it and luckily I was able to retrieve it before any damage was done, and lack of follow up on requests from me by your sales rep.

    After receiving that review Susan from customer service (Wilsonville) contacted me and went out of her way to make sure my issues were addressed promptly. When I say "went out of her way", I mean to say she went above and beyond by even coming to my home to address the screw issue on a Saturday after her work had finished. She ordered and brought me a segment of remnant and dealt with the screw issue. She completely changed the tone of my experience by her extra efforts. I've updated my "rate your experience" stars from 2 - 4 just based on her amazing follow up. Kudos to Susan for rocking the customer service provided to me.

    Ehsam was very quick to follow up with my request for an estimate. He was personable and seemed knowledgeable. I ordered through him and when I determined that I wanted to take advantage of your 12 month no interest loan, he was quick to see that was processed. The products were ordered appropriately and I got good follow up from the website regarding arrival of the installers. The installers appeared on time, but had the wrong order in their van. One stayed behind to start removing existing flooring while the other returned to the warehouse to get my order. Once he returned they got to work and used their time well. Because they had another job scheduled the following day (?) they needed to cram through mine and worked until after 9 p.m. that night. Because it was late and they were needing to get home, my review of the final job was done very quickly.

    Now that it has settled in a bit I will say the following: 1. I like the products that I received. 2. I appreciated that the installers also moved my furniture as needed. 3. There are a lot of fibers breaking away from the carpet which is requiring more clean up than expected. (I'm not sure if this is normal or not - probably is.) 4. I found that the heat vent in the kitchen was not reinstalled appropriately and my new puppy was working on a screw that was about to fall out - but I luckily caught her before she could swallow it. I've tried to screw it in myself, but it appears the hole is blocked with flooring. 5. Immediately after the installers left I realized they had not left behind any remnants of the products so that if I ever had an emergent need in the future I would have the appropriate product available for the needed repair or replacement. I texted Ehsam and he replied he would see what he could do.

    I didn't hear from him after that, so I texted him again 2 weeks later (on 11/30) asking if he had been able to get me the needed remnants. Again, no reply by him, so I texted a request that he at least have the courtesy of replying to my inquiry four days later and he responded with apologies and asked for my "patience" until he could check with the office in the morning. Here we are... 3 more days after that and Ehsam has chosen to not follow up. So although the initial contact with Ehsam and Empire Today was excellent, things have steadily gone south from there.

    I'm now very concerned that the installation may still have issues and I will not be able to address them without remnants and hugely disappointed that Ehsam has chosen to disregard my repeated requests. I think I've been patient enough and so my feeling about this experience at this point is definitely less than my original 5 stars. Good quality installation and follow up by your sales representative are things that are very important to your customer's overall experience. I'm disappointed.

    It was a huge mistake to select the Empire Today to install new laminate floors in our home. Their sales representative made so many promises to us: affordable prices, good quality of their product, high professionalism of their installers. Unfortunately, quality of the product and the result of the installation leaves a lot to be desired. Top layers of laminate planks are too thin. They are not durable and not scratch-resistant. Baseboards are made from very cheap material. A few planks were not joined properly, which was resulted in gaps between them. Some baseboards didn’t fit snugly to the floor, forming slots. After the installation, all baseboards were covered with very noticeable holes from nails. Corners of baseboards look ugly. This list can be bigger but honestly all the mentioned above is not our main concern at the current time.

    The problem that bothers us most of all is the annoying squeaking sound, which our new laminate flooring makes with every our step, especially in the kitchen where a few laminate planks are not only squeaking but also sagging(!) when someone steps on them. Right after our new laminate flooring installation and discovering this annoying sound, we discussed the problem with the Empire Today’s installers. Their foreman tried to assure us that the laminate flooring would eventually stop squeaking. We patiently waited but nothing changed since then – it continues to creak and squeak. The sales representative and the installers knew that our sub-floor was uneven in some areas of our apartment and they promised to fix it prior to the new laminate flooring installation.

    The installers really tried to do it but failed to properly perform this part of work. They were also aware of our plans for our kitchen remodeling and cabinets installing after the laminate floor installation but told us that cabinet installation would not affect the installation of the laminate flooring. It’s absolutely obvious that the installers working on this project didn’t pay attention to details and demonstrated a lack of skills. We contacted the Empire Today customer service a few times by e-mail and by phone to schedule an inspection but have been completely ignored. It seems that this company doesn’t stand behind its product and service or simply doesn’t care about its customers.

    Had Empire Today install Laminate flooring which is now fading under an area rug. Neither company claims responsibility. Empire states they only cover installation for a year and will not provide any further assistance. Very rude on the phone and hang up on me when I was trying to get information. Mohawk states that they are not responsible for fading as it is the rugs manufacture responsibility. On-line research states carpets will not cause fading on laminate. Just trying to get one of the companies to stand by their product.

Then they said it would take about 3 hours. I had arranged for someone to be there, but they needed to leave at 2:30.     I’d like to say that everyone I dealt with from the salesman, to reps on the phone, to the installers were fantastic very professional and courteous. I do have a couple issues however. The first being pricing, in the future I will be more diligent and probably shop around. The reason being we cancelled a laminate floor install after the consultation, and a few days later were offered an enormous discount, and although I appreciate the discount it makes me think that I got ripped off on the carpets, if I cancelled them could I have gotten a better price. The other issue is with the laminate flooring. They look great and we are happy for them. Over the Thanksgiving Holiday it was brought to my attention by a few people that the floors that go under the baseboards are not secured down by a molding and are free floating. There is a about an inch and a half space between the baseboard and the new floors where the floors are not secured to the floor.

    Most of the carpet and hardwood floor companies pretty much sell the same stuff. It was how fast they can install and then price that I needed to think about. I decided to go with Empire Today as it was convenient. They had the materials in stock unlike with other companies where we would have to wait at least a week. I had a carpet and hardwood floors installed in the bedroom, hall room and kitchen. I like the overall look of the flooring and how it matches well with the other floors that were preexisting.

    The overall service was good and I'm satisfied. However, customer service wasn't that great. When the contractors for the hardwood floors came in, the reps had called corporate Empire who then called me. Empire Today didn’t have the right plywood and they did the light flooring, yet they tried to charge me an extra $500 overall for the work. I was like, "No. The salesman came earlier and quoted me a price and that's the price I'm going to pay." Ultimately, the price that the salesman quoted ended up happening, but it was a thing that was unpleasant to deal with.

    First of all let me start with my wife and I were moving into our new house the next week on Tuesday. We had a quote from multiple contractors and Empire beat the other bids. I didn't show any contractors the other company's bids which was nice but if I knew that they wouldn't do the job after their company representative had seen the job I would have and I’m going somewhere else. The rooms were down to the concrete and all they had to do was lay some new tack strips and install the carpet.

    They showed up a day late causing us to have all our possessions moved into our garage instead of our house. Then they refused to do the install. By the way, we had 2 other contractors that would do the same install without any issues. Then their "service" department didn't call us back, ever! It's been over a week without any responses. I've called them 5 times and not a single representative has been available to take my calls to get the project completed. I'm now going to look into taking them to small claims court for moving costs, my 10% down payment, and time off from work for the day they didn't do the install.

    I had quite a bit installed by Empire Today. At one point we got the vinyl kitchen floor. Another time we got steps and hallway. Another time we got one bedroom done. Another time we got a different bedroom done and got multiple area rugs. We also got a second one about a month or two ago, a 12 by 12 or 12 by 14, but about five or six different times. You can't beat their prices and next day installation. They're always my go-to people and I always go to them. I like my kitchen floor. I got a small kitchen but it's a stone-looking vinyl and the installer did a phenomenal job doing it. I like the design and style, the colors of it, the whole thing and how the guys did it. I got all these corners and little cabinet areas.

    The installers were good at their craft. They came in, measured it, and looked at it, and as I was watching, I asked, “Where's the seam at?” The installer replied, “No, it's all one piece,” and I asked, “How is this all one piece?” He said, “This is what we do all day.” It was unbelievable. The salesman of Empire Today also is awesome and he’s a really good salesman. Anytime I need anything, I call him directly. If I had to call him some more and said I needed a rug, he would ask, “When do you want me to come over? When is good for you?” And he would say, “I could be there in 20 minutes.” And he always gives me a good price and he's really nice. I've recommended him to multiple people.     We have a place in Hedgesville, WV. We had carpeting put in and the project is not complete. The first day I had someone wait for them. They never came.     We had vinyl flooring installed by Empire Today in the living room, dining room, hallway and bedrooms. We’re very happy with the quality of our flooring and I like the wood veneer’s design. Compared to other brands, their cost and quality is good. We love the product and everything about it but the disposal of the leftover product didn't go as planned. The installer didn't have room on his truck to take all the old carpet back with him and he promised to return in a few days to pick it up. But he didn't return in a week, so I called customer service. The installer called and said he'd be by in a few days and he didn't come. I called three times and finally, I gave up and threw it away myself. Other than that, it was a good experience and I would recommend them to a friend, but we’d also tell them to make sure as far as the disposal of the product is. As frustrating is the disposal of the product was, it didn't take away from the experience otherwise.

    I like working with Empire Today. When they came to the house, I could check the colors and look at everything against my walls and furniture which I couldn’t do with other people. I had carpeting and blinds installed and their products have better quality than others brands but at have same cost. However, I called customer service today because I got a real big pull on the rug. I bought this carpet specifically because the gentleman who came here told me that it was cut loop so there would be no pulls.

    My other carpet was a loop from Empire and it was more of a Berber. My husband had been in a wheelchair and it was easier for him to get over that carpet because it was flatter, but we have a lot of problems with pulls. So when the salesman was here, he told me that if I don't want pulls, I have to stay away from that Berber and go for these. He showed me the bunch and they were really nice under my feet, plus a little bit more cushioned. He said it's cut loop so it won't pull. So

    I was upset when I saw this big pull on my new carpet. Seeing it’s under warranty, the gentleman is going to have somebody call me to set up an appointment and send their reps to come look at it. The carpet was in for only a couple of weeks when it happened.

    Other than that, everybody has been very friendly and nice. The gentleman who came to the house to do everything was very patient with me trying to match something, and the guys that put the carpeting and blinds in were organized and clean. Everything was the way I hoped it to be. The carpet upstairs and the blinds are great as well. I’m very satisfied with my experience with them.

    Gonna start from very beginning, the salesman shows up at almost 8 pm after I wasted an entire day off waiting for him, should have known I was gonna be in for it but I gave the salesman the benefit of the doubt. The day of the installation comes and I get a phone call at 730 am saying I was the second stop, well again an entire day off of waiting and they show up at 6 pm to start the install, ok whatever, at least they’re here. So now, 5 months later, the carpet has changed colored, has rips and tears in it, set up an appointment for them to inspect it, nobody shows up, again a wasted day off. I called 3 times and all 3 times they say they're trying to reach the tech but he's not answering. Finally at 7 pm I call for the last time that night and they say I never had a set appointment... so I put in a complaint, they state somebody will call me in 24 hrs, nobody does.

    So again I call, because now for 3 weeks almost every other day I call and I have never once received a call from them, even when the rep states they put in a corporate complaint for me and that I would receive a call back... and so they finally do come out and say the entire carpet needs to be replaced, "Somebody will contact you", well that was 4 days ago and I have still not been contacted. So I call, as usual the rep states, "You have to wait for your local office to call you"... still waiting, filed another complaint, still have never heard anything back. Worst customer service in the world, horrible product, I'm demanding their product be removed from my house and expect a full refund!!!

    Empire came out to measure my family room for a new carpet for Thanksgiving. I hired people to move everything out of the room the night before and called Empire to confirm they were coming as my sister took the day off to be there. The next day, installation day, they canceled. I called since it was Monday. They promised to do it on Wednesday and canceled again. I had to change all my Thanksgiving plans. When I called back, there were no apologies for ruining my Thanksgiving.

    They said they would be on Monday. I said no. My sister cannot take another day off. Gloria agreed on Friday since I had it off. Friday morning they called to confirm Monday. They argued with me for 15 minutes. Finally, they transferred me to Gloria. She pretended we never had the previous conversation. I demanded that it be on Saturday or I was canceling. She said "Now I have to spend my day calling people just for you" They did install on Saturday, but no one deserves to be treated the way they treated me. The rest of my house will be done by someone else.

    I was replacing something old and I had wooden floors installed by Empire. I like their product, but something that was written on the contract was not explained to me and I didn't like that. It was too much for me and there was nothing else they can do. Empire Today should tell their customer every detail and before refinancing anybody, they should tell them, “This is what's going to happen. This is your interest rate. This is this.” They should tell them the ins and outs so the customer is clear with the interest rate. But they would just tell you the good thing and then later on when you see your statement, you see different charges. And when you call and ask, they say it’s not them, and they all refer everything to the bank. If I knew I would be paying $29 every month on the interest rate, I wouldn’t have taken that because it’s too much. I’m dissatisfied with my experience with Empire Today.

    Easy and fast to schedule appointment. Sales rep showed up on time and easy to interact with. Installation was offered for the next day which was scheduled within a 4 hour window. Called near end of 4 hour window to cancel and reschedule another day. Made promise couldn't keep - I could have scheduled it for another day if needed but was offered next day. Once here for installation went okay, except later noticed that piece in small closet under stairwell installed in wrong direction. I had specifically asked for carpet just for stairwell, that would wear well and look good on stairwell. It looks nice until you walk on it. It shows every footprint and makes the new carpet immediately look old and worn. Something you could never have noticed from small sample shown when deciding which carpet.

    I am SO disappointed. This type of carpet should have NEVER been one of the options for steps. I wish in hindsight I had taken the berber type carpet. As we know, steps get some of the heaviest use and as a result carpet constantly looks worn and old - and that I need to or should vacuum it constantly if I want it to look good. Hopefully I will save up some money to eventually replace. What a waste of my money on this. Pretty depressing.

    I reported gaps between the planks of my luxury vinyl floor 2/19/17. This is 11/27/17 and it's not resolved! There is rarely a live person answering the phone and the appropriate people don't return calls. It has already been determined that the cause of the problem is improper installation. At this point, all I want is my money back! I had ceramic tile removed and it's only right I pay for that, but I want the rest refunded. I've been informed that I can either get a new floor or get "half of my order refunded".

    There also were problems at the time of installation where large scratches were made into the surface of the new floor because appropriate measures were not taken when moving appliances back in place, a hole was made in my carpet where a transition piece was installed, a fabric blind was soiled with adhesive because the adhesive container was placed on the window sill, and my brick front porch was stained with residue from leveling compound. These problems were corrected but not as quickly and easily as they should've been. Why now would I want a new floor from a company that couldn't get it right from the beginning, has caused ongoing problems, AND has poor customer service???

    I had a laminate floor installed by Empire in one room and then they carpeted the stairs going up to the next level from that room. I considered other companies but those were the specifics from the boss, my wife: from Empire. We had carpet before so all of the stains are now gone and our new flooring is easy to take care of. It looks beautiful and it's easy to clean as well. It took them one day to install the flooring. The guy that measured the room for us was a bit of a slacker though. He missed that we had a fireplace hearth so we had to spend an extra $200 for them to undercut it so the laminate would slide under it. But the install guys were fine and they did a good job. We had to call them back after the carpet got put in so they could finish the trim. My experience with Empire was very good and I've already told other people about Empire.

    Our carpeting from Empire Today is beautiful, and it was a lot less pricey than around here. We had three bedrooms, a living room, and the hallway installed with the carpeting. Empire's sales guy was good. He came to the house and he knew what he was doing. He also did our son's house and our daughter's house. Our experience with Empire was very good, but the men that came the first day said there was too much work to do. So, they didn't do everything until the next day. Also, the front of the bathroom door is a little messed up. We didn't go through the flooring, and when I scrubbed the bathroom floors, I saw the holes which I didn't see until after they left. They didn't put it right up to the tile, so I'm going to have to get someone to fix it.

    Avoid at all costs. This is hands down the worse experience I have ever had with a contractor. The sales person Dan lied to us and did not even place the order correctly. This company has done nothing but give me hassles. First their installers refused to do the job they were hired to do and just left. Then the job was rescheduled and no one showed up. Then when they did show up the next day (the third time!) they tried to charge us more than the agreed to price and after an hour they finally agreed to keep their promise (the salesperson was lying about what he agreed to! Unbelievable!). Then as if the week from hell wasn't bad enough, the salesperson did not enter the order correctly and add the basement stairs to the order. I mean really?

    This is the worse company ever - don't make the same mistake I did. I should add also that not only was the salesperson completely incompetent, the customer service people were rude and unhelpful. I wish I could leave zero stars except the installers today were nice - they were at the mercy of Dan the lying sales guy and the horrible management. How do they stay in business??

    My husband and I scheduled an appointment for Wednesday the 22nd. Our appointment time was set and confirmed via email for the hours between 3 pm and 5 pm. At 4 pm they called and said that the rep was behind and wanted to see if I wanted to reschedule. So I asked, "How far behind?" The customer service rep on the phone told me that the sales rep was still on her 11:30 am appointment. I was willing to wait if there was only one appointment still to go but she was several appointments behind so I rescheduled for Friday the 24th. Our appointment time was set and confirmed again via email for the hours between 1 pm and 3 pm. At 3:10 pm I called and asked if the sales rep was running behind again since we had not heard anything and they were already 10 mins late.

    The customer service rep put me on hold and called the sales rep. When the customer service rep came back to my line he said there was a miscommunication and the sales rep had taken a vacation day and asked if I wanted to reschedule. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? NO I don't want to reschedule with your company, my husband has already taken off two days now to be here for a rescheduled appointment that then turned into a no call no show appointment and a company who now wants to tell me there was a miscommunication. This is absolutely ridiculous.

    I am really disappointed, I was excited to use them and they have completely blown this opportunity with us. How do you stay in business when you are so unreliable and unorganized? I had to give one star to submit this review but what I would have preferred to do was thumbs down or even negative stars to say the least. I can only say that the customer service reps weren't rude and did say sorry for the inconvenience each time. I feel bad for them. They work for a company who allows them to take the heat from the customers when the sales reps are the ones who are the ones who aren't held accountable for their actions.

The installers showed up about 9:30 and did the install and I'm happy with that. Though I shouldn't have to escalate an issue through third parties to get help.

Got a phone call at 9 am saying that they couldn’t do it and it would be next Saturday before they could get to it! Finally Ava said after we stated we would cancel they would come Monday! I’m getting ready to go get a Stainmaster Carpet instead, Ava wouldn’t offer any help or $100 Visa for the inconvenience or loss of work etc, plus the Sales Rep Amanda never returned our calls as of yet!

    When Empire Today installed carpet in my house, I liked that they moved all the furniture. Some other companies that we had checked in the past would see about doing it and some didn’t do it at all. And I’m not about to do it at my age. While the installers were fine, the part where they joined the carpet shows a little bit, and they told me it would disappear over time but so far it has not. Additionally, they didn't have one room worth of carpet. We had to wait a couple of days to get the final room done since the carpet comes down from Chicago.     I had vinyl flooring installed in my master bedroom by Empire Today. Their quality was better than the other brands. They're a little expensive though but we figured you get what you pay for. The installers were on time and very polite. They took the old carpet out and put the new vinyl down. They put the quarter round molding around it and it made it look good!     Empire Today checked all the boxes for everything I needed to be done and the cost was cheaper. We got a better deal through them. I am so impressed with the quality and I really love it. We got vinyl flooring and the carpeting. The carpeting is nice and plush and it’s what the salesman told me it would be. It wasn’t a cheaper brand. The vinyl flooring is wonderful and beautiful. The installers of both the carpeting and the vinyl flooring were very professional. They were very kind and very considerate of us. It was the best experience ever. Aside from having to move all the stuff out of my house, they moved the heavy furniture for me. They were wonderful and efficient. I was very impressed. I’ve told other people how wonderful they were. We got the quality that we paid for and that we were shown. They were really very fast in doing it. I have no complaints at all from the salesman to the installers.

    We had hardwood and carpet installed from "Empire Today". It truly saddens me to write this. I dislike complainers. The carpet is cheap (you can often just pull out the fibers), and the hardwood took 4 return visits to fix. The carpet on the stairs was mistakenly cut by the installer midway up the stairs, and they attempted to hide the mistake by tucking it away (6" long cut), and while they sent an installer out to review the installation issue, they lost all those records and needed to send out another installer. After 3 attempts to get someone here again (unreturned calls etc), we just gave up. It has been 6 months of problems and poor management, so we will now have to have another company repair the issues and pay out of pocket. Maybe Empire is okay in other areas of the country, but in Portland Oregon, they seem to be almost completely incompetent and unable to deliver a product. Maybe our case is a fluke. But it makes things hard on everyone involved.

    Issues: Poor quality carpet, poor carpet installation and attempt to cover it up, kept calling the wrong phone number when returning our calls, unable to fix the phone number on the account after 9 requests, poor hardwood installation, multiple visits to fix hardwood issues, lost visit records on several occasions. Outcome: No longer doing business with the local branch and hiring other installers to fix issues.

    We are interested in replacing carpet downstairs with hardwood and scheduled an appointment for 3-5 PM on Monday 11/20/17. At 5 minutes to five I called and asked about why we had neither heard from or seen anyone. I was told there was a conflict and would need to reschedule, which we did. I asked why we were not told of the conflict and there was not an answer. We had come home to be there and lost over two hours of our day. I asked to speak to a manager who after an extended wait came on the phone and essentially took the "not my fault" approach. We asked that the estimator call before they came for the next appointment and Empire said they would.

    The next day I came home 20 minutes before the appointment to find the estimator inside talking with my wife. She showed up early, without a call. My wife had indicated that we wanted engineered hardwoods. The lady went out to her car and brought in mostly items we did not ask for or want. The product we were interested in she could only show us a picture. We did get an estimate which was under their 50/50/50 sale, but she could not break it out to tell us how much was product, what the regular product price was, how much was installation, under-lament or removal of existing carpet. We wanted to save a buck and remove the old carpet ourselves thereby doing any needed repairs prior to hardwood installation. Their 50% off product and 50% of labor was higher than competitors full price. Our experience with this company left a bad taste in our mouth and we would rather move towards a company we feel we can trust.
