I had Empire Today install luxury vinyl tile for my home. We considered other brands but Empire was cheaper because we had to have our carpet taken up. They took the carpet up, put the flooring down and trimmed it out. The sales rep was courteous and was helpful with the experience. He told us everything we needed to know, and he gave us the best price he could give us. I recommend highly Empire.

I watched what Empire Today advertised, and I knew I couldn’t get it down here from local as soon as I wanted. So, I went with Empire based on the timing. First, I had carpeting and then, later on, I had the wood floor put in. Two days later, I had the bathrooms tiled. The flooring met my expectations. I wanted tile rather than linoleum, which I had in the bathrooms, and one had gotten something on it that wouldn’t come up and it was frustrating. The other one had been damaged, so I wanted it replaced. But the only problem was the one that they replaced, the john leaked after it was put in. Also, there were a million things that happened. I just got the phones back today and it has been almost a month since they put in the floors.

Three weeks ago, Empire had an inspector come out and he looked at it. He said that the john was leaking just a little, but it was leaking under the tile. So, they've got to come back and remove the tile and put down new tile. That will be next Monday, but it's been a month. And part of it was just they didn’t take care of it the first week afterward. But then, my phone was out for almost two weeks. The carpeting is wonderful and the people that put it in did a very nice job. They just didn’t clean it up. But on the other hand, they moved everything out of my bedroom before they put the carpeting in, and the same for the other bedroom and the stairwells, which was good. So, we are really enjoying the carpet and the wood flooring that they put in. I have real wood throughout the rest of my house, but it is laminate and so far, it has been really nice.

But I'm changing the bathroom tile. My son sleeps in the other bedroom and that's the bathroom he uses, so when it took so long he's gone back to using his own rather than having to tromp through my bedroom and then to my bath. It's been very inconvenient. I walk into his bathroom to get towels and the floors are wet. It has been long enough that they had seeped through the top too and getting some fungus on the walls. So, I'm hoping that Empire can do it completely right this time because my bathroom is good.

Empire told me I have upgraded from what they put in first in the front bathroom. I wish it happened to mine because I would have changed it. They said it was going to cost me $420 because I was getting a different tile and it was a more expensive tile. I felt like it had been months since it was done and it's still leaking. I felt like there should be compensation there. But the rest of it, I would gladly tell people that Empire Today is good. They came in and they were done in a day.

Empire Today was cheaper than the other flooring companies and the brand was almost the same. My wife chose their product and they installed carpet and padding in the bedroom. My favorite thing about it is its color. Our experience is great and I’ve told several people about them. I said, “Sent in your home. The guy comes with the carpet.” And, “When you pick it out, better bring home now.” I also said, “Not to run around the state looking for carpets.”

I had a carpet installed by Empire Today in my bedroom, the stairs, and upstairs. I was thinking about going to Home Depot but the price was a little better through Empire. Also, I liked the quality. It’s a nice, brand-new carpet. There were a couple little spots here and there since the installers were going quick, but other than that, all in all it’s good.

Empire Today is easy to deal with and does a great job. I’m very pleased with them. A friend who had used them referred them to me and they did my basement a few months after a storm. Then we had them back to do the carpet upstairs. We got to upgrade a padding and I love the carpet and the padding. My sales rep John was great and he was also the first guy who came before. We called him to come back and measure for upstairs. And then the installers that we had out the second time were also great and very efficient. The new floor installed absolutely met my expectations so far.

We had a vinyl floor installed in the basement. I have to say they came to our house the day we called which I liked. Mistake number one. I didn't ask for a detail pro format of what the price included. The salesman gave us a price and we agree to finance. Never again. Please make sure you ask for what you are paying for and sleep on it. Because we may had find a better deal somewhere else. The floor is sooo bad. I cannot express how bad it is. It looks like something I would have done. I wish I would have done it actually because it would have cost less. The floor has pockets of air everywhere. When it was being installed we mentioned it and the man showed me what I can do. Really?? It is like I paid to have something done professionally but I am going to do the work? Then he said the glue will settled it will look better. When he said that I was so frustrated already words couldn't come out. I just left and let my husband dealing with it.

I think that Empire Today rush to do job to keep their word on quick installation without taking into consideration of what really needs to be done, what will work for the area. I wished I have gone to Home Depot or Lowe's. I am going to pay a lot of money for a floor that I hate because of a really bad bad installation. I don't usually write reviews. But this is keeping me awake and I wish I could go back in time and never contacted Empire Today. Please do your homework. They are no expert on flooring. I am embarrassed with the flooring in the basement. I feel like a fool. Paid for something that I pretty sure I could have done better.

I'm very unhappy with the service of this company. The sales guy sold us great flooring. We loved the price and the time frame in which the work will be completed. So we scheduled the next Saturday to get our floors done. They were a no show. Ok, so we gave them the benefit of the doubt and scheduled for the following Saturday. They come out. Get started. At the end of the day, only our hallway was completed. The guys told us that they didn't have an order for the stairs. We called the company and they informed us that it was in the order. They left and we scheduled another day so they can come out and get the work completed. So the same guys come back out, walk in our house and say, “Oh we can’t do the stairs today, you need to take your railings off yourself.” I was frustrated because you could have let us know that before you came back out.

Whatever, we schedule another day, the only availability they had was a Friday. My wife took off work. Friday came, by 12 my wife called and asked if they were coming, the general manager tells her that they called and said they were at the job at 9. The worker called her and said, “We can’t come today because he can’t find anyone to work so they will come tomorrow.” We explained that it couldn't get done because we had previous plans. So he comes out with an attitude and get to work. He tells us that we should’ve called his boss. After 4 hours he leaves with the work half completed. By this time it’s 3 weeks. So the next time they send someone out is different workers, he walks in and said, “Whoever did the steps did them wrong and used the wrong material.” We had to wait for the correct materials to come in so that took another week.

He comes out yesterday, tears up the old steps, leaves for an hour, come back, spends 3 hours putting down 2 steps. Then he say he will be back in a hour because the saw broke. I'm livid at this point. By the way a lady shows up at my house, I didn't know who she was and she never introduced herself. I called the general manager again to tell him what's going on. The worker comes back within 15mins. They did seven steps yesterday from 9:30am-10:30pm last night. They still have 7 more to go. I'm just so unhappy with the workers and the general manager. The general manager act as if I'm the problem but I would not have to call you if everything was going the way it should. He said he would take 200 dollars off the work but it's not even about the money. I just want the work done.

It just seem like no one in the New Orleans area want to work at this company. Or if they're here they have their friends over while they are working. It just make me feel very uncomfortable about the company that they would allow this type of behavior. It's been a month now and the work is still not completed. I wanted them to do my other rooms done but not anymore. I will NEVER recommend this company to anyone.

I had Empire Today put down a vinyl floor in my kitchen, dining room and foyer. And I had carpet put down in my living room. I like the way they look because what I had down was 30 years old and they were really worn. I had carpet in my dining room, and I had them to take the carpet out and put the vinyl down which is a lot easier for my dining room. If you're patient enough to let the workers do it and it gets done, then it’s worth it by seeing how it looks. It's a lot of work to move your thing out of the way so they could do it.

Empire Today worked on our dining room, living room, and hallway about three weeks ago and we’re satisfied with what they've done. Their rep did fine and explained everything. We had a choice and it was somewhere close, but they couldn't match up the color that we had. We ended up doing more than just the hallway. The installers did fine but we spent two months just trying to get them up here.

We started out on January 19th and I kept trying to get Texas to arrange somebody to stop in here. We'd call and she wasn't there or she'd call us back and we'd be out. We found out the person who came was from way down in Flint and came in here. He checked it out and saw what our problem was. He tried to correct the hallway but he couldn’t do it. He said that he'll see if they can come up with a matched carpet to replace that hallway and that as soon as he gets back to his office, he'll arrange for them to contact us about having somebody come here and do it. It took another month or so before we had finally gotten somebody to come up here. They brought the carpet with them, we talked it over and they went ahead and took out the old and put in the new within a couple hours. They were here and gone and they did an excellent job.

We signed a digital contract for Empire Today to install new carpet on 4-13-18. We received a system generated email regarding our scheduled install date of 4-25-18. It stated the install would take place between 8am-6pm. My husband and I did everything noted in the email by removing all small breakable items and really most heavy furniture. It was in our contract the install team would move the heaviest items. On the "date of install", 4-25-18, I began to call the company letting them know that I have not received a call from the installer and that it was getting progressively late in the day. I had to call numerous times to get any information, even then, they refused to tell me what was going on and when to expect the installers to arrive.

At 1:10pm 3 guys showed up at my home. The lead installer "Chino" told me that he was just to unload our carpet and he would be back at 4pm. I reminded him that I was told our install would be a FULL day and that it being so late, that would be impossible. I had emptied my 3 children’s rooms and disassembled their beds. I had moved everything in preparation for them to finish carpet install. After arguing with "Chino" that I had no place to put my kids to bed this night, he agreed to stay and complete their 3 rooms. As I normally would, I walked through as they performed the work. I noticed they had installed the basic carpet padding throughout the room when I had paid for the "upgraded" waterproof padding. I also saw they were leaving the 13 year old padding in the closets.

"Chino" tried to tell me the waterproof membrane is "visible" on some padding and "invisible" on other! I insisted he pull it up and replace with what we had paid for. I also told him that leaving the old pad is NOT acceptable! At that point he told me that he was not given enough waterproof padding from the Empire warehouse to even finish the 3 bedrooms. He cut and laid some carpet in 2 rooms. Tack strips and padding were still exposed in my 5 year old's bedroom entrance. He did not mend the seams or complete the closets or doorways. He promised my husband and myself that he would personally call me before 8am and be at my house working by 8am to finish the job the next day! We had to agree as we had our whole house turned upside down.

Next day, 4-26-18, 8am came and went without any word from "Chino". I began calling Empire and spoke with numerous different customer service reps. Finally I just wanted this entire nightmare to end. I was given a number to "Anthony" who would have the ability to cancel the contract/ job altogether. After speaking to him at length, he said that he couldn't cancel the contract/ install since work had begun. That would come from "George" the install manager. During our conversation I had to take my daughter to school. He asked if there was any way I would let them complete the work if the guys came and finished up that day (4-26-18). He placed me on hold to call the "install manager".

Within 10 minutes "Chino" was calling me saying he was at my house. I told him I was 10 minutes away and to please wait. He said he would. I switched the call back to Anthony and told him that "Chino" was at my house and he would wait for me there! Anthony said he relayed that to the "install manager". When I arrived back home, "Chino" was gone. I reviewed my security footage and after he hung up with me, he walked to his car, got on the phone again, loaded his tools back in the car and drove off. I pulled in my driveway minutes after he left. I called Anthony back immediately and told him what happened. I was really hoping this company would make things right after all of the things they had put my family through. They did not. I was told that "Monica" would call me...I got a call from a "Diana".

She seemed like she would be helpful at first. I told her since we were on day 2 and our carpet was still laying in my garage, we just wanted to cancel. She said, “But what if I get them back to you by 1pm and they finish today.” I just was not hopeful as we have been lied to so much by these people. At 1pm, nobody came to my house, I called Diana. She said, “I thought you wanted to cancel...if they get there in 30 minutes can they finish?” I said, “Yes but I need them to finish today.” She said, “They would!” I rushed to my daughter's school, picked her up and rushed home. The installers showed up at 1:50pm. They didn't speak to me at all.

I had to ask what happened to him not calling or showing at 8am? He said since he has a newborn baby at home, he has to take his oldest daughter to school, then go back and take care of his 2.5 year old and 1 month old baby. He said he can't get out of the house much before 9am anyway. At this point, I have zero faith in these installers, so I am periodically walking through checking on the progress. I noticed they were talking about a problem so I went into the 3rd bedroom and noticed he shortcut my son's room by 1 inch. He wanted to do a 1 inch seam on the tack strip. My husband and I said, “Absolutely not, you must recut this room and do it right.” He said "I am not recutting this piece and getting backcharged". “I will leave before I do that.”

He got his tools and told his guys to load up the truck and began yelling at me in my driveway in front of my neighbors. I got Diana on the phone and let her listen to his yelling. I told her this was Empire's last chance and this installer just blew it. My husband got the sales rep on the phone, he was no help. He lied to cover himself, just like everyone else within this company. At this point, we wanted Empire to pick up their materials and part ways amicably. We cannot get anyone from this company to return phone calls or address this issue. Everyone blames another, then when pressed, they are blaming us, the customer.

My husband talked with Meygan today, 4-27-18 and was told the contract will be cancelled and a full refund will be issued. She told him that she would send an email stating that... we have not received anything from her. Not surprising! I have filed a complaint with the BBB-Chicago and the TX Attorney General’s office. I will continue to post reviews stating the facts of the dealings with your company and will not stop until we receive this cancellation confirmation from your company and you pick up all materials from our home!

We bought carpet for our bedrooms a few weeks ago and have had an awful experience with Empire Today. First it was hard to tell the colors from the tiny samples, but the salesman (who was really nice) advised us that the color of carpet gets lighter when installed and that the one we were looking at would be good for us having kids and dogs. We almost went with a darker carpet hearing it would be lighter, but ended up sticking with the shade lighter, I'm so glad we did because the carpet looks so much darker in our room and I wish we would have gone even lighter. The carpet doesn't match anything! So now we have to re-paint our walls, and I guess just deal with it not matching our bedroom set or wood floors. The carpet isn't good for pets and kids like we were told because it's so thick we can hardly get a vacuum through it, making it very hard to clean.

Then comes the actual installation. The installers didn't show up in the two-hour time frame we were given. When I called to ask where they were I found out they were at another job and was given another two-hour time frame. It was a waste of my time. We paid extra for a special padding with a barrier pad for spills etc. Each room has a strip where that barrier pad isn't on because they used the end of the roll. One of those spots happened to be right next to my daughter's bed where it was important for it to be in cases when she gets sick. When they left they left a mess. I had this tar-like dirt on my doors, trim and sheets! (Which I'm thankful we left on our mattress since it's a brand new mattress).

After they left we looked through at the job they did, and found our bedroom dressers had been scratched and chipped by the installers. I called to complain and was told I would receive a phone call back in three business days. I didn't get one until 5 business days later when I happened to be out. I called them back and haven't heard from them since. This is our first house and our first time buying carpet. We went with someone we thought would be better than your average store, and I'm completely disappointed we did. At least going to a store like Menards I would have gotten the carpet I wanted and they would have returned it and made it right if it wasn't. Very unhappy although.

Salesperson was helpful, installers were not. No surprise there. They barely spoke English. They barely cleaned up the fibers dropped throughout the house. They had to borrow my tape measure. Banged the crap out of my walls, not only with dragging in the carpet but by taking down bedroom doors and gouging my newly textured walls. Had to spackle and repaint. Also in removing two bedroom doors and three closet bi fold doors, they just placed them in no particular order without marking them. When I had to reinstall it was a blast. They also neglected to offer to trim the doors down, I asked and certainly would have paid extra but they declined to do so. Overall, salesperson was okay and actual carpet installation was okay but the other issues left me less than floored...

Empire Today offers a quality product at a reasonable price and they are fairly good at their customer service. I also like the fact that one of their representatives could come to the house to show me their product and that’s a little more convenient for me. I had wood floors installed in the dining room and then carpet for the rest of the upstairs. There were a few issues with scheduling but that’s the only thing that got a little bit tricky. The carpet is a nice quality and it seems to be holding up well.

About a year and a half ago, I had purchased a special carpeting from Empire Today for a little bit of extra money which is supposed to be pet resistant because I have three cats. It was supposed to be very stain resistant, particularly for the urine but it wasn’t. I tried to clean up the carpet but the carpet stains would not come out. Empire came out and they reviewed it and then they sent a third-party non-biased carpet guy. He determined that the carpet was defective and they actually replaced all my carpeting upstairs, which was very good customer service. I was very happy with them.

It's been a couple of months now since we purchased PERGO flooring from Empire Today and had it installed. Empire had a sale going on then, which is why we chose them. They got good marketing with a jingle too. We've had PERGO for years and years. And so, we just got our flooring redone and it's good to get the upgrade of the PERGO that's a little more waterproof. With the older kind of PERGO, if any water gets on it and it stays and we don't see it, it will buckle on us. So this is the new step. The product we got is like a plastic flooring that looks like wood and it's gorgeous. We like the wood grain look to it. We didn't want to put wood down for obvious reasons plus we also have pets. So this one feels a lot better if the pets have any accidents. I can just quickly wipe it off and then it's over with. It doesn't take a lot of cleaning and I don't have to worry about waxing it.

We have the new flooring in the family room through the office and the installation was unbelievably perfect. Everything was measured well and then the manager came out and took a look. She rechecked the measurements and then called to follow up. And the workers were exquisite. In fact, I called Kim, the manager, to tell her what a fabulous, unbelievable job it was. And we're gonna save up a couple more bucks and get the bedroom done too through Empire. My neighbors have seen my new flooring as well and I've recommended Empire to them. Empire is a very good outfit and whenever we got any question, they answer them. They call back to follow up and make sure everything meets our expectations.

We had Empire Today install butterscotch hardwood flooring for us. We liked the price and the way it looks so we picked it out. We liked it so much that we did it in the living room, dining room, kitchen and powder room as well. There were two people that came out and they were very good, clean and professional. They pulled up the carpet and the padding, swept, and they were very precise. They got here about 11:00 o’clock, but they still got the job done in one day.

She was very nice. We then had Chris for the installation and he was also very nice and did a good job. He left everything clean and I was very satisfied. Having the new flooring, I really like the look of cleanliness without the carpet anymore. It makes the room look bigger too. Empire Today does an awesome job and I would like to be able to purchase some more flooring from them later on. I would also recommend that people try Empire Today. They’re really good, dependable and courteous.

Empire needs to have a serious board meeting and address some serious issues. First let's begin with the salesman. A typical salesman friendly, smiling and playing at the same time. I had to call the salesman more than 5x to get him to correct the bill that was sent electronically to my email. He had the wrong deposit down. Frank promised same day installation - IT DID NOT HAPPEN! Installation took from 10:30 a.m one day till 11:30 p.m one day, and the next day 12noon until about 3 p.m. Promised furniture will be put back in place. I had to put most of the furniture in place. I asked Frank over and over for an itemized bill and he tells me he cannot give me one. It's a 50/50/50 and everything is included, and can't break out installation/flooring/padding that goes underneath.

So, the guys arrive day of the 3 room installation of 2 rooms of lament flooring (living room/dining area) and vinyl for kitchen. There were 2 men when there should have been 3 or 4. One is a professional and the other CLEARLY in training. Very nice men but neither one of them could hold a conversation in ENGLISH so that begins the problem. It begins with one guy telling me the old tiles in the kitchen had to ripped up. I had no problem with that but he said it was an additional PRICE. As if it wasn't expensive enough.

I argued back and forth. I called the salesman who said, "OH!!! I forgot..." yeah it is more. But, I did included the wood that has to go down first before they put down the new vinyl. So, after going back and forth I agreed. I tried to give the two men room to work checking on them from time to time along with my friend Al. Time was ticking away almost 2:30 p.m and I seen the one in training was not really moving too quickly and they were still in the first room. I said, "You are going to be finish today? You will have time to rip up the kitchen and do the flooring in the dining area???" The professional seemed as if it hit him and started moving quickly.

WELL, these guys did work hard but they were exhausted, tearing up old carpet, and removing the old molding, padding and cutting and putting in laminate flooring. These guys took multiple 5 minutes break NO LUNCH!!! I was so concerned they were depleted!!! I decided to check on the guys again, I did not want to helicopter over them and LO AND BEHOLD THE PROFESSIONAL WAS PUTTING THE WOOD ON TOP OF THE UNRIPPED UP OLD TILE THAT I PAID AN ADDITIONAL $230-260.00 TO BE REMOVED!!! I stood there and said, "Excuse me. Why are you not ripping up the old tile???" He looked at me like I am busted... But of course lied saying, "Oh no I am covering it with wood." I said, "Then what did the installation manager tell me I had to pay additional money for???" The professional says, "Oh no that for the wood. You don't have to rip up the floor." what!!!

I began snapping pictures with my phone and videoing and decided to give someone in charge of this rip off business a call. I spoke to three people with complaint and they gave me a reference number for my complaint. At 8:30 pm the guys so famished I gave them Snapple and water... they finally break down and order Chinese food.

After they took 15 minutes to dog down food they ran back in to do a little more work. These guys worked until about 11 p.m. Then the professional said, "I'm sorry Ms. Can I please come back tomorrow." Kitchen not done, molding in two rooms not done. I went to turn on stove after they left. STOVE DISCONNECTED!!! My house is a mess, materials in the floor, tools left behind... Garbage in my yard and on the side of my home. IT'S A NIGHTMARE... They will be back today... part 2. STAY TUNED, I HAVE LOTS OF PICTURES!!!

Horrible experience. After WE moved heavy furniture to make it easier for the installers, they didn't show. Called early morning and told we were not scheduled. From there... mistake after mistake. Multiple orders. Some stairs make horrible creaking noises that they never did before. The laminate flooring has a crack on the stairs. The laminate pieces in the hallway have a huge gap between them. The vinyl in the bedroom has huge bubbles. The vinyl in the bathroom is pulling away from the tub. Installer put a hole in our wall during installation. One installer was so horrible that they yelled out their helper and had the helper stay in the truck for most of the install. Very unprofessional. We did not want him back for numerous reasons and told Empire that, yet they sent the same guy not once, but TWICE, causing us to have to reschedule their appointment to FIX their MISTAKES.

Now today - 4/24/18, they send an installer who can barely speak English who was condescending and rude. He said "no fix". He didn't have the laminate with him. He wouldn't fix the vinyl caulking or bubbles. I was home alone on crutches with this strange man and felt VERY uncomfortable. I asked him to leave and he stayed on the front porch and wouldn't leave. I had to tell him I was calling the police to have him FINALLY leave. I tried to reach a supervisor, but still no callback. Giving one star is very generous. First off the carpet was install and my linoleum. The carpet started lifting the first day at the seams, the linoleum is cracked where the carpet meets the linoleum, I finally get someone out here after sending photos and having the manager come out and see for himself. 4 times they scheduled someone to fix the problem, 2 of those time I took off work to meet someone to fix the issues, and NO ONE SHOWED UP all 4 times, not even a courtesy call.

Finally someone comes out and the guy spreads some caulking on it and say "It all good". The carpet is lifting in corners, the crack in my linoleum is so big now, I've called many many times and no one has and come out to fix it. Now I feel I'll have to call another carpet company to come out and properly fix my carpet issues. I would NOT recommend any work from this company. Our intentions were to have them do our entire house, not a chance now. We will be file complaints with the BBB and everyone we need to. Then they call and want to do more work for us, but have yet to address these issues. When we do call back, I get tossed around and no one seems to know what anyone else is doing. It's been a very very unpleasant experience to say the least.

I looked at a lot of different places, but Empire Today got stuff going on and guaranteed certain things which was why I went with them. I had a wood floor installed in an office, a full carpet throughout the house which is in the living room, dining room, hall, and had a vinyl entry, an oak floor put in. My favorite of the flooring is the Berber carpet which you can’t go wrong along with an 8 lb. pad which will last a long time. Also, the wood floor that was put in the office and the 50-year warranty that will last us as long as we are in the house. The vinyl entry way too, because of its durability as far as getting wet. The new flooring has met my expectations. The installers and the salesperson were great.

But other than that, I was not happy at all with Empire because the day that it was supposed to get installed, the guy who was supposed to install the floor called me at 8:30 in the morning and told me he would be there between 9:00 and 10:00. We waited till about 10:30 and nobody showed up. We ended calling back Empire and I talked to quite a few different people and they couldn't help me out. I took the two days off to make sure that the floors could get laid. So, they found somebody to be able to lay my carpet on that Friday, and thankfully I took the second day off. But I wasn't happy at all because the people at the main headquarters acted like they didn't care.

I wasted one whole day and they came out the next morning. Every time, somebody would tell me that they would call me before they show up but I never got a call before somebody showed up at my door. I got a call after the fact. The last issue that I had was when they showed up to install my carpet. I had to pay before they install it. They showed me the bill and it was different than what was originally quoted to me by $250. I showed the installer the original and he goes, "Yeah. But this is what Empire wants." So, I went ahead and paid it, and last year I got a letter from Empire Today stating I had to pay $250 for materials. I'm not happy with that side of it at all.

I found out that the reason why the first installation got cancelled was because the carpet guy who was supposed to do it showed up to the warehouse, picked our carpet up, and left the warehouse. He checked to see if he had gotten paid by Empire but he found out he wasn’t so he turned around, went back to the warehouse, dropped everything off, and left. I got that information from headquarters in Texas and right at the warehouse. If I was in that guy's position where Empire didn’t pay me, I would have done the same thing. I understand where I'm coming from because I'm in the service industry too as I'm a high voltage electrician and I give service to people that they expect to get because they pay for it all the time. So, if I'm not getting paid, I'm not gonna do my job until I get paid. I understand his point, but why didn’t Empire pay him when they were supposed to?

When I was trying to get information and to find out whether or not my carpet was gonna get installed even though the installer walked away because he had a good reason, why didn’t Empire come up with something else in order to install my carpet considering and looking at the whole thing, it was Empire's fault from the beginning. If Empire only got few installers here, they don't wanna pee off their installers because they're sub-contractors but they're the ones who are making money for them.

Empire sent a rep who was grossly unknowledgeable about flooring. By his admission he had only been "selling floors" for three months. I had to explain to him why I didn't need underlayment, why it was important to remove and return the baseboards and why I would not just accept his continued verbal assurance of all inclusive would cover everything. When I pressed what exactly all inclusive covered he could only tell me "well you know, everything". When I asked about the baseboards he assured me it was included and after I insisted he verify with his manager, he had to admit it was extra. So I guess "all inclusive" does not cover "everything".

I requested a written quote so I could see what was and was not included and was informed Empire does not provided a written estimate until the deposit was submitted "but you have a window to cancel if you don't see everything you want". What? So I am going to give you a deposit just to see what you will be doing and then if you miss something I can cancel the contract and then wait for you to decided to send my deposit back at your leisure?! The final straw was when while on the phone with his manager he gave me the price, after assuring me he had given me a huge discount because I had been so patient in educating him on flooring, only to hear the "manager" on the other end of the line say and I quote "yea baby!". I would not recommend this business under any circumstances. Do yourself a favor, research local companies and hire one with good reviews, a proven track record and a local office.

As my house is torn apart so we could make it easy for the installers this is not what we wanted to hear. So they reschedule for the next 3 days. They came out with books and showed me the flooring they had, which we had already seen, so I said I would take it. The Empire guy gave me the sale price and I said I was happy with it. I’m on a pension and what I liked too was that, when I asked the salesman how long the price he quoted was good for, he replied that it was good forever and it would be good even after two months. He also said, "Whatever quote I tell you, that’s what you’ll get the floor at. I’m not giving you one price, then you’re gonna call and they’re gonna say it’ll cost $2,000 more.”

I had some laminate flooring put in by Empire Today in my front room and in the hallway last month. I had carpeting there before and the carpet was getting so old that it was coming up. My review is for the delay in the laminate installation. Our schedule for installation was rescheduled 3x. First it was April 13 so we moved all our furniture in preparation, then they said they don't have the materials yet so they moved it to April 18th. Fine, we said we understood, then they moved it again to April 19th without an explanation. This morning I received an email stating that it will be tomorrow April 20, reason was they don't have the materials yet. I am so disappointed, I want to cancel but I already deposited money and who knows how they handle refunds with this bad experience (promises not delivered). I will never recommend them to my friends. I will add the receipt for verification when we reconnect our scanner as currently everything is unplugged and moved.

The other company we were looking at had similar products as far as the flooring was concerned. But we really like the actual floor, its color and texture, that we got from Empire Today. Also, the cost was about $1,000 cheaper and the other place we looked at didn't do the floorboards. We would have to do those ourselves, whereas with Empire, part of the installation was the floorboard. The product, service, and cost were the three major deciding factors. We had a laminate floor installed in the kitchen, living room, hallway, and then the two bedrooms. And it's great. We love it.

One of the rooms needed floor in there and my husband was gonna take care of that and do the floorboard himself. But after Empire did everything else, it looked so good that we decided to have them come back and put floorboards. It was pretty seamless to have them come back out. We changed our minds and there was no big deal to have Empire come back and take care of that.

Warning: Dishonest Business - After viewing numerous Empire Today commercials that advertised 50% off the total flooring cost "of select hardwood styles", I called for an in-home estimate. I met with their rep, Jack, who was very personable. He measured my rooms and gave a verbal estimate for the job. Not surprising, the hardwood style that I selected did not qualify for the half-price sale. I asked which styles did qualify. He was not able to say at the time. As the job was twice as expensive as expected, and not 50% off, I told him I would need to wait at least 6 months or so to be able to afford the work. I asked for a copy of the estimate. He said he would email it to me.

I also asked for a business card, but he didn't have any on him, and left me with no way to contact him directly, and no paperwork at all. The estimate never came. I did receive a follow up call from the corporate office enticing me to commit to the flooring. I told them that the 50% off sale was the reason I called, and that the job was more than I could afford now. I mentioned that I never received my estimate, and asked which hardwood styles qualified for the sale. I was told that they (the corporate office) couldn't answer that, but that the in-home rep could.

They said they would contact Jack and also have him email the estimate. The estimate never came. I have followed up several times by email, and spoke with their office at least twice by phone and one live chat. Whether it was in person, over the phone, in chat, or through multiple emails, each time I inquired as to what styles the advertised 50% off sale applied to, the question was dodged. Empire never sent the estimate. Very unprofessional. Beware, Empire Today's commercials are a dishonest, bait-and-switch, designed to get a salesman in your house. Disappointing. I'll be going with Home Depot for my flooring.

Ordered blinds for a new house, the rep indicated 2 to 3 weeks for the blinds to be delivered and installed. The order was placed and deposit was given as requested. The rep said someone will be calling for final measurements in the next day or two. No phone calls for couple of days, contacted rep and was told to call 1-800 # but certainly should have been contacted by now. The 1-800# said they needed to call the local office and someone would contact me, would not provide a contact #. After 24 hours no phone call, called 1-800 # same response, called rep and they arranged for final measurements. The representative taking the measurements had no knowledge of order status, have to call 1-800#. After calling the 1-800# numerous times and getting the same response "24 hour call back" which never happened any time, followed up with the rep and no one could provide date order would be delivered.

At 3 week now, being fed up, I asked to cancel the order and be refunded my deposit, they said couldn't return my deposit after 3 days but the rep promised would rush the order at this point, will have it shipped next week. Next week came around no order or update, after numerous phone calls to 1-800# and rep, no one could provide a status or delivery date. Almost a month later now, no blinds, or date for blinds, numerous phone calls and promises though. Finally had to argue with rep and supervisors on the phone to get my deposit refunded (3 to 5 days later), after being screwed around for a month. Ironic they can process a transaction right away when placing the order. Do yourself a favor to save the frustration avoid EMPIRE at all costs.

And it took 2 additional trip to complete the installation. They started it without having all of the materials which is unprofessional. I was told halfway through they didn’t have enough trim to complete and they didn’t know when they would have it back in. Then I had to call to find out when they would be able to do it. Always talking to a different person each time. Then different people came to install it when the material was back in stock two weeks later even though I was told by several people they only are out of stock on any item 1-2 days.

They didn’t complete the installation as they seem to have forgotten them all of the kitchen. I had to call customer service 3 more times to find out when they were going to come back and finish. I was asked if I wanted them to come out in the morning or evening this time. However they wouldn’t be able to tell me, again, what time until the day of. I said late in the day as possible. I got the call in the morning that they would be out 8am-10am. Which is clearly not in the late day. They came to finish and I can say it is finally as complete as I can expect.

Our experience started out very unprofessionally when the salesman had to take a phone call to stop his car from being repossessed. That should’ve been our first red flag! We have pets, which we told him from the start, So we wanted a darker carpet. He found us a gray told us it was the darkest they had but it was Stainmaster so we’d have no problem. I have had to clean the carpet multiple times stains keep coming up. I have thousands of pulls in the carpet and they did not install the metal carpet strip between the carpet and the tile for a static reasons. Sounded like a good idea except now the carpet pulls up from where the tile is.

I’ve called to complain several times. They got back to me once I called again they told me to send an email with pictures Which I did and I never got a response. They told me they couldn’t do anything about the spots because I did not have a professional cleaner come in. If it is saying master why am I having such a problem with stains?? We spent almost $3000. 3 years ago and we’re going to have to rip it up within the next year and put something else down. Very dissatisfied and I would not recommend them to anyone ever but I wanted to keep as my friend.

The flooring is a rustic grayish wood and I like its color. The installation took 15 hours but the installers were great. The experience was fast, easy, and pretty cool overall.

We called yesterday to verify the appointment but once again no one showed up today. This is very unprofessional and unacceptable. Is this how you treat current customers?

I tried one other place but things took too long with them and it would be too much of a stroke job to hire them, so I went with Empire Today. Wally, their salesperson, came out here and he was good. It was the second time that I've used him and just like he told me, everything was taken care of. I had the hardwood floors installed through the whole house and I'm not happy with them. I would rather have carpeting under my feet than hardwood floors. But that has nothing to do with Empire. Everything was done fine and I have no beef with them. Although the cost was high and was a lot more than I thought we were going to pay, we could pay it off within 90 days with no interest. I had them install laminate in the living room, dining room, kitchen, bonus room and bedrooms, tile in two bathrooms, and carpeting on the steps. The installers were pretty great and did a good job. They didn't mess up any wall or furniture. Also, the tiles are nice and they match the walls. The laminate doesn't scratch as well, but when the laminate was in the box, it looked like there was a shine to it, then when it was installed, there's no shine and I don't really like that. But so far, the quality of the flooring looks all right.

We recently spent a large sump of money on floors throughout our house including laminate, vinyl and carpet. The installation process was beautiful and went smooth. The sales lady was awesome. We really enjoyed our experience with them. Well not even 6 months into having the floors we have a spot buckle on us. We called and scheduled an appointment. They never showed. Called and rescheduled. They sent the wrong guys (guess laminate and vinyl is a huge difference... it's not). So we had to wait another 2 weeks for someone to come out that didn't have all the material. Spoke with customer service and having to take 3 days off of work going on a 4th is just crazy. Customer service told me they don't care about my problem because they deal with these problems all day.

We finally got ahold of someone willing to help us and rescheduled. Here it is today and they have a window from 8-12... they called at 10 to say they won't be there until 1-2. Well here it is 45 minutes past that and finally get a call saying they are on their way. Even if they fix the issue this company has major issues that need to be addressed. I'm a local contractor in the area and this is not how you deal with your customer and care about your name. I would not use this place again due to the problems in the office and customer service. The product and installation were great.

We recently moved into a new house and we are trying to replace the carpet on our second floor (all bedrooms and stairs.) The sales rep came to our home on two separate occasions taking measurements and getting us signed up. The team of four guys show up to install the carpet. They looked under one corner and saw tile. They refused to do anything further until the tile was tested for asbestos. (This is something the sales rep should have caught.) They end up telling us we need to remove the old carpet ourselves for them to be able to install the new carpet. We have everything rescheduled, get up at 5am the day of install to pull out all the carpet, disassemble furniture, etc.

They sent one guy. One. He looks at the size of the job and tells me he can’t do the job by himself so he “steps outside to call his manager” and leaves. The customer service is terrible. Our house is now a construction zone (because THEY made us rip out all of our carpet) and we have an 11 week old baby. We now have to pay for a hotel since the house is currently not safe for her, take a fifth day off of work, and their solution is $200 off our $4,000 carpet. Save your money and go to ANYONE else. I’ve done business with Empire Today on my other house and when I first bought this one, I went with them for the flooring on the first floor. So my initial approach was to go with them and didn’t consider anyone this time. I made an order for tile in my kitchen and then I ordered some blinds for the living room. I like that the material matches with the rest of my kitchen area. It makes it look nice, new and fresh. The ceramic tile was a higher-grade material. If it chips, it’s the same color underneath so I like it. But I’m not happy with the grout. There are areas of my floor that have gaps and when you look at it, there’s a hole. The installation ran long so I’m wondering if that could have been part of it since it was at the end of the project. That’s the last piece as far as letting it dry out. So I’m getting ready to call them back.

But during the installation, their guys told me that they needed more plywood and cement to make the flooring level. So, I ended up paying $8,600 into Wells Fargo and another $1,100 which I got to pay cash. So, it was $9,600 altogether. Other than that, they did a beautiful job and I was satisfied with it. The flooring was made of good material and it's under a lifetime warranty. It's also water-proof and I appreciated their guys who told me that and advised me to get it.

My husband and I decided on a few home renovations in order to move my father in with us after the death of my mother on Feb 5th. We used Empire twice I think about ten years ago and were pleased. We called to have a rep out to our home to discuss new carpet for what will be my Dad's room and asked to see about vinyl for our kitchen and laundry room which we decided to go ahead with and placed an order for carpet and vinyl flooring on March 22nd. The carpet order went through without a hitch. Empire called to schedule installation within a few days; we have a date scheduled and look forward to the results. So on to the vinyl, for the next week we inquired with our sales rep regarding an installation date for the vinyl. He assured us the date we asked for April 9th would be no problem and the installation folks would be in contact.

We did not hear from anyone so I decided to call customer service and see if I could make progress from that angle. Customer service said they could not see my vinyl order but it was probably just not entered yet and someone would call me back. There was no callback so next morning I, call customer service. Get same answer from customer service. Rinse and repeat for a few days. Finally on March 30th we got a call from the area sales manager who informs us he has to go back to our sales person who will need to find the order so they can get it entered in the system. Today is April 2nd and we are no closer to resolution with exactly one week to promised installation date. I sent a text to our sales rep this morning informing him our order was still not entered into the system. I let him know that I have been chasing the order daily for over a week and waiting for return calls that never come.

I asked him if this was going to work or did we need to come up with a plan B. I stated we need a resolution by the end of the next day. His response was that he was sorry he had made a mistake on the paperwork but it was a small thing and I should call sales support as he corrected all the errors. I called Empire customer service that connected me with Edwin in sales support. Edwin tells me he does not have the order and it is not in the system. Edwin put me on hold while he tried to contact our sales rep. Edwin never came back on the line. I called back and was told someone would be contacting me. I sent a text to our sales rep letting him know we still have no order.

I wrote “This problem happened on your end and yet we are the ones left chasing it down trying to get it corrected. And by the way... If we had not been calling every day trying to get this figured out the install date of April 9th would have come and gone because there is no order.” I asked him if he thought there was any chance we would still be able to get flooring installed on the 9th. I added, "This does not feel like a small problem to me. As of this moment 4:00 pm April 2nd I have not heard back from either our sales rep or sales support." I am so disappointed that I really have no words!

Not good right from the start. Empire was recommended by family members, so we decided to go with them. Made the appt for the salesman, who did not show up or call; we called him giving him the benefit of the doubt that maybe there was an accident or family emergency, etc., left a voice mail msg. He called back within 5 minutes and apologized saying Empire had overbooked him. Okay, it happens, although a phone call would have been nice. Made another appointment for the following week. Salesman was very knowledgeable and helpful; we picked out carpeting and paid for it (wish we hadn't paid for all of it then, now looking back as we are now at their mercy).

Carpeting needed to be installed by the end of the month to be under their current promotion. Made arrangements for the end of the same week on Friday (Good Friday). Received a phone call bright and early at 7:45 a.m. that installers would be there in the afternoon. They worked like a well-oiled machine and old carpeting was out, rolled, tied and padding and tack board down within an 1 to 1-1/2 hours tops. Then came the bad news... They only had 1/2 of our carpet order with them saying the warehouse did not cut/give them the correct amount. They laid what carpet they had. They did a GREAT job installing what they did have (we have a couple of curved tiles and hard wood to work around).

They told us that different installers would be back out the next day to finish the rest of the install (Saturday) and that we would receive a call in the morning with a time frame. Not happy as this is Easter weekend and is totally messing up our plans/schedule. Saturday morning gets here, one of us has an appt at 7:30 a.m. and the other needs to go to work, but can't leave until we get a phone or the other gets back home in case they would show up at 8 a.m. (which you would think we would now be a priority). No phone call. Messed up my husband's overtime pay as he had to wait for me to get home before he could leave as they start their installs at 8 a.m. Had we received a phone call, he could have left for work. Ugh!

I called them around 9:30 a.m. explaining the situation, only to find out we were not scheduled to finish the install on Monday (after Easter). Yet, our salesman had already texted me Friday night asking what happened as he seen we were on the install list for Saturday. We were also told that someone would call us back "shortly" - they didn't call until 4:40 p.m., 7 hours later!

This has been such an inconvenience and on a holiday weekend to boot! Our china cabinet is in our kitchen, our fireplace/TV stand (very large) is squished in our bedroom, our dining room table is in our garage, sofas in the living (with no backs on them to make them lighter to move); our whole main living area is completely displaced and it's a holiday weekend! So unacceptable! And here I am right now, writing this review on Monday morning (date of supposed finishing of install) and still no phone call of when they are to arrive - if they do at all. Our salesman is/has been in contact with his general manager about the situation and says we will be compensated... Not holding my breath. So disappointed all the way around with this experience.

I highly doubt we will use them again in the future, which is sad because we need new flooring throughout the whole house. Their snafu and they should have been here bright and early today first thing to finish the install because technically this shouldn't have happened in the first place and it should have been done on Friday. We will see what kind of "compensation" they actually give us... if any. Totally unsatisfied with the experience!!!

We liked the product that Empire Today had. It was the Acacia wood that we couldn’t find anywhere else. They did two rooms. We had our living room done first. They came in and the little guy did a nice job. They weren’t messy and they didn’t wreck the place. But the last time, the only way they took out the floor was a little crazy. They used a big bar to break up the old flooring instead of prying it up. It’s an old clapboard floor and banging on it like that broke a lot of holes in it and we’re still cleaning up down in the basement from all the stuff that went down through.

When they got here part of the contract was supposed to be that they replace the subfloor. And they got here and they didn’t have anything to do that with ‘cause they had to go and get the plywood for that. Also, they were here until 11:30 at night and then it took them another 40 minutes or so since they were out in the driveway cleaning up from that. It was way too long. It would be nice if they had people in here who spoke the language of the household that they’re working on. When you have somebody doing work in your house you want to be able to communicate with them clearly and without miscommunications.

We could find the Acacia wood somewhere else but it wasn’t the same color. Empire Today might’ve cornered the market on it so we gotta go back to them to continue the floor throughout the house. However, they demanded that I pay up in full before they would even start. And then I called their office and they put another guy on that I could hardly understand and he was telling me if I don’t pay them then they’re just going to leave. I usually like to have somebody do the work and make sure it’s done right and then it looks good and then they get paid. If it was a 50-50 thing half of it upfront and half of it when it’s done but apparently they don’t have that option. They haven’t started because we have to pay up in full. The next time we have flooring done I doubt it will be with Empire Today.

They answered their cell phone when we had some questions and were super good. They had somebody come out to install and it was good as well, but there could've been a little more communication on the scope of moving furniture around because it was a bit messy putting a lot of stuff back. If we had an understanding of what they were going to move and not move, we wouldn't have had a lot of piles of stuff that I had to dig out. But I was happy with the experience overall. When I did complain the manager tried to make me feel stupid and petty. IT DIDN’T WORK!! He said, “It Sounds to me like you're just unhappy with the carpet!” I said, "Yes, I am. I want hardwood like I ask for in the first place." I told him I will settle for hardwood in the heavy traffic areas, keep the UGLY carpet in the rooms, and pay the extra in cash on the spot.

The floor guys came and did a pretty good job minus cracking my front porch steps with their heavy cutting tools and cracking my bathroom floor tile. We were at the end it was looking good then they couldn’t figure out how to do the finishing molding. It is hideous! I could have done a better job! I gave them a check for $2,000 for my tiny living room, nook, and 6X3 ft hallway and it looks like hell! So tacky I am shocked! They even set the molding over the huge crack they made in my bath tile. I pointed it out beforehand but all of a sudden, they couldn’t speak English! Every time there was a problem they couldn’t speak English.

We sent pics to the salesman right away and he sent them to the manager. The same workers showed up 4 days later to fix the entryway to the kitchen but didn’t have the matching color so they used a piece that shouldn’t go there. Then they started measuring my bathroom floor. I said, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" They said “we might replace floor”. I said, "Call my husband first please." I went to the other room, came back and they were long gone. We haven’t heard a word from anyone since except the salesman that said it is not his department. I am calling the BBB. I don’t need to be treated this way!!!

Well another problem that we have with Empire Today. This is carpet beetles! We had complete flooring done in our home mid February and product and installers were not an issue, but communication and lies (management blamed lack of training of sales rep) was our unresolved issue. Here’s our new problem. Since the carpet was installed we have found we are getting bugs (which we have been told are carpet beetles). While we had only about a dozen and we do vacuum carpet daily we are concerned about what will happen in May (when apparently is their hatching season)? Ok Empire Today let’s see how you respond to this.

I got the carpet in the bedrooms and on the stairs done quickly by Empire Today. I’ve also used them before. I couldn't get the carpet that I picked but I liked that Empire was fast. If they come on Monday, they can be here on Wednesday or Thursday - that quick. Usually, you might have to wait two or three weeks from someone else. Also, the installers were good and knew what they were doing. They did what they were supposed to do. Everything was good. If you need carpet, call Empire up and get an estimate from them.

I had vinyl flooring installed in our living room by Empire Today. However, I'm 85 years old and I'm used to a lower price on everything. The cost is too high. We choose Empire Today because they had an advertisement that we liked since there was a promise for a low price. However, that's something we really didn't get. Still, our new flooring is better than the one we had. It doesn't absorb dirt. Still, if we had a knowledgeable person inspect it as their installers put it down, we've might've saved a couple of complaints.

Empire Today's cost was comparable to the other brand I considered but a little cheaper, and I went with them for that. I had them install carpet in three bedrooms and in the living room of my house. The install was okay but their customer service before and around the fact wasn't the greatest. Originally, I was supposed to get hardwood in the living room and the installer relayed and explained to the salesperson how I have a little step-down into the living room and they explained what they were going to do compared to what the installers said they were going to do, which I didn't want, so it got switched to carpet.

And then, Empire billed me for what was owed to match what was for the hardwood. They even sent me collection letters and I got two different statements. I called and thought it was fixed, but then I got another statement and I called back and found out it wasn't fixed. It's just one department not talking to another department and it took two months to get that straightened out. The biggest issue was I work late and there wasn't anybody in accounting left, so I was talking to somebody on the phone that couldn't really help me. On the other hand, the sales rep was pretty new and the guys did a good job installing the carpet.

When we went to our first place that we would have been satisfied with, it was gonna take them 10 or 12 days. And then we called Empire Today and that’s when they matched the price and said they’d do it in two or three. Originally the pricing was a bit high, but our rep Brandon did some stuff and the price came down. We had carpet installed in the bedrooms and it's perfect. It came with all the right paperwork as far as the 15-year warranty, and that’s what we liked about it.

We bought a home in August of 2017 and had Empire Today install carpet and vinyl thru the entire home. About 3 months after the vinyl was installed, bubbles started developing in the kitchen, so I called them out and they repaired the problem. Then a month or so later some more bubbling occurred, I called them and they came back out and fixed the bubbles. This happened one or two more times. The last time, the installer said they could not fix the problem.

So I called Empire Today's customer service to get them to do something (fix the problem), they sent out an "inspector" to see what the problem was. From that point on I have not heard from them, they have not reached out to me or responded to the problem. I have called them several times, and found it very difficult to get past the automated system to speak with a living person. I've gotten thru twice, and the representative on both calls said their manager would get in touch with a resolution, but never has. The last time has been about a month ago. Besides them not standing good for their work they did not pay the referral fee to my sister-in-law for referring them to us. Anyone looking to get new flooring I would suggest looking elsewhere.

Empire is not a professional floor installation company. Instead I was sent a “salesman” for an in home estimate who did not understand how custom of a job I needed done. His answers to all my concerns were “no problem we can do it” which turned out to be vastly incorrect! Unfortunately I took the salesman's word for it and trusted that Empire could get the job done and I set up an install date right away.

On day of installation 2 workmen came to my home and immediately within 3 minutes were able to tell that the job would require a more sophisticated company that could level the floors properly to install tiles in the kitchen. This made me very upset because I took off work, cleaned out my kitchen for the installation to have the workers say that they couldn't do the job!?! If Empire would simply send knowledgeable people for in home estimates to see if a job could be done it wouldve saved time for both me and their company. My experience was very poor and I wouldnt recommend this company to anyone. You've been warned.

In March 2015 I had a solid wood floor installed at the cost of 6,000 plus. Fast forward to November 2017, I noticed what appeared to be cracks and splintering in a section of the floor. I contacted Empire Today and two inspections followed. It was concluded by the last inspector that there was a defect in the wood, the fact that I had extra wood in the basement that showed the same signs of cracking and splintering, I’m sure contributed to this conclusion. The inspector was to submit his findings and Empire Today would be in touch. On one occasion, a installer came to replace the defective slats only to discover that he had been issued the wrong wood. It was at this time I was informed that the manufacturer no longer stocked this particular wood. Numerous calls to Empire Today went on for weeks without any response. I was always told, a supervisor would be contacting me, that never occurred.

Around 2/19 I posted via social media my dissatisfaction with Empire Today’s customer service. The next day I received a call from Julio, who informed me that he would be submitting my claim ASAP. ON 3/3 Yvette called...probably Yvette ** who was supposed to call me on 2/19 and never did... She informed me that my claim had been denied by the manufacturer. My warranty with Empire Today was for one year and only covered installation. The “fictional” 20 yr. for the product itself, is with the manufacturer and obviously up to their discretion to honor.

My problem is that I contracted with Empire Today and they are not advocating in my behalf. Of course, it is in the manufacturers best interest to deny culpability in view of the fact that they no longer stock this particular wood, they would have to replace the entire floor (living and dining rooms). This is not cost effective, Empire Today does not stand behind the products they install. I recently received a call from Randy who said for an additional 1,900 they would install new floors “with their highest quality wood”. The “highest quality wood” is supposedly what I originally purchased for 6,000+. They sound like con artists!

I need a non-warranty repair on the flooring of my rental property so I scheduled an agent to come out and measure so I could get an estimate. The agent was scheduled 3/21 between 2-6 pm and I was supposed to receive a phone call from the agent when they were 30-60 mins away. The agent never called and showed up 4 hours early. I do not live at the property! On 3/21 at 10:30 AM I received a text message from my tenants that said the agent had already came and took measurements, asked them for $75 (which they did not pay) and the agent tried to call me and I missed the call, he left.

3/21 My husband and I called the number back and the agent insisted that we need to pay $75 (Which I was aware of) but I informed him I had planned on paying the fee with a check. He then said I needed to call Empire and make the payment over the phone and they would accept a check. So we called Empire multiple times trying to make a payment and no one would accept our payment as apparently the installers are the only people allowed to call in payments. So obviously I am not very happy as I just need this quote ASAP.

3/22 I spoke to a manager in customer service and he agreed to waive the $75 fee and would get back to me when the agent turned in the information for my property as they have 24-48 hrs to turn it in. 3/23 My husband called the agent to make sure he turned in our information as we had not yet heard back from Empire. He said he did turn it in but he did not receive any notice that we paid the $75 and asked my husband for a confirmation # which of course we don't have since the fee was "waived." 3/26 Once again I call Empire for an update and they inform me that the person handling my account from the Baltimore office was unavailable but left a message to have them call me back as soon as possible.

3/27 Having never received a callback, I call Empire and get the person in charge of my account and the rudeness and attitude I experienced was completely unacceptable. She is telling me the only solution is to schedule to have someone come out again. ABSOLUTELY NOT. Again, I do not live at this property, why should I have to take more time off work to wait on an installer to come do this job all over again because Empire cannot hire competent agents to do the work in the first place. When I ask to speak to the manager she informs me that he conveniently leaves at 3 pm.

I can't understand why this is so difficult, someone came out and took the pictures and measurements they need to create a quote. If my husband and I can call and talk to the installer why can't Empire call and get the info they need?! I used to love this floor and now I absolutely hate it and will tell everyone to stay away from Empire. If I could purchase the flooring elsewhere, the job would be done by now but here I am still waiting for a Quote! I can't even imagine how awful it's going to be to try and schedule a repair.

We were told we would be called to inform us approximately when our carpet would be installed. At 8:37 am, on the day of delivery, I received a call telling us that our carpet would NOT be delivered at all because upon their checking their inventory they did not have enough of our carpet choice in stock to now do our basement AND that the carpet we chose and paid a deposit on is now discontinued.

This company does not EARMARK IN THEIR INVENTORY YOUR CARPETING THAT YOU PAID A DOWNPAYMENT TOWARDS, so until the day of installation they apparently do not know if they can even uphold the contract you signed. Never heard of such a way of doing business. We had moved everything out of the two rooms into other areas of the house, which now makes the entire basement unliveable and we will have no carpet. Our salesman never mentioned that this could even be a possibility. I am sure within all of the fine print of their huge contract, they cover their very unfair business practice but just know... You are taking a big risk of having no carpeting available at the time of your installation, even after your signed contract, down payment, hard work and expectations. Very unfair to their consumers.

We had carpet installed in one room by Empire Today. Jeff, the salesperson, was down to earth, honest, patient and was not pushy. He was local and he gave me his telephone number as well as his card so I could put his number in my phone. He did an incredibly great job. In fact, he was the reason that I bought the carpet. I looked at a lot of different samples and I went back to my original choice. I liked the padding and that I could have it installed the next day. It was installed within hours and they cleaned up very well.

I just left the installers alone and let them do their job although I did watch them move my antique organ. However, they wrecked the cord on my organ and I still haven't gotten it repaired. I still can't play the organ so, that was one thing that I didn’t like. I had a very cheap estimate to replace and repair. The cord itself would be $29.95 and then the average labor for installing that would be $65 an hour and it would take about an hour to move the organ, install the cord and check the cord to make sure that the organ is working. So, if you add that and you get 30 plus 65, it would be $95 and Jeff agreed to do it for $60. That's a savings of $45 to Empire. But it still isn’t fixed.

I would recommend Empire Today to a friend despite the fact of the cord has not been fixed yet. Also, I did not get an invoice with the receipt of the amount that I had paid. I had to ask repeatedly and I still haven't gotten it. And, I have fees that they're going to put a credit on my charge card but I haven't received that charge card. I haven't seen that credit yet but I'm anticipating that they're going to file and do that for me. Nevertheless, they did a very good job of installing the carpet and the quality of it is very good. I vacuum it once a day so it is pristine when you walk in. I don’t let my pets near and when people come, they comment, "Oh, you changed the carpet. It really matches your new furniture and it looks very nice."

I contracted with Empire Today to have flooring installed in two bathrooms. We did not call any other flooring installation companies because we felt that Empire Today had been in business for a long time and would have professional flooring contractors. We received an estimate and signed a contract. Vinyl flooring was installed with white caulking and white quarter round. We were told that we would have a bead of white caulking next to the tile, which was not the case the caulking was wide and sloppy. I tried to stop the contractor in the middle of the job but he said he had to finish. I was unaware that white quarter round would be used. The contract is digital and we only signed a few pages of the large contract. I called Empire Today immediately after the contractors had left to let them know the installation was done unprofessionally.

There was glue on the door and walls and damage to baseboard and tiles in my bathroom along with the poor installation. Empire Today has a very good customer relations department and 3 crews were sent to fix the original installation. It is still not corrected. I had requested that the original flooring installer not be sent out to fix the problems if he thought he did a good job to begin with he could not repair the floor or the damage. He did come back and was very intimidating to me. He felt he did everything right when he installed the flooring and disputed my claim that the tiles were banged at the installation with the large roll of vinyl. The tiles fell off soon after the installation but not right away. They have since been reinstalled by Empire Today. The quarter round used is very large to cover up any cutting errors, which there were many. The vinyl flooring is a multicolored brown flooring and white caulking was a problem.

The quarter round was changed to a different color when the original installer returned but the corners were not mitered. I was told that the wall was not square. The baseboards have been damaged by the installation and removal of the white caulking by a very sharp tool. When the toilet was removed there was damage to the wall that has not been repaired or even offered to be repaired. Empire Today feels that the flooring has to be replaced but after 6 chances I cannot have them return and now they have sent collection notices. I hoped the flooring installation could be repaired but because the vinyl was not cut correctly, new baseboards would not cover the uneven cuts. I have estimates from licensed flooring contractors who also agree it cannot be repaired, a new vinyl floor has to be installed. I do not feel I should have to pay Empire Today the balance on my account. They are not agreeing. See the photos.

We had Empire Today install carpet in two rooms that I needed it in. When I talked to the gentleman from Empire, I thought that the price point he had was the average going for two rooms anyway. I figured that $800 per room was about right. My mom is on a walker and a wheelchair now so I needed the durability of Empire's carpet. I also liked the earthly tone so that the carpet is kept from stains and for low maintenance. Empire's carpeting has definitely met my expectations and I was satisfied. They did a good job and I'm happy with them.

We put some carpet and ceramic tiles. It was a little messy on the tile, but we cleaned it up and everything worked out. The flooring looks good and it's holding up good. I might do it again.

We had 3 rooms and a hall installed with laminate in July 2017. At the time of the sale, the salesman had indicated that it would not be possible to install anything but a floating floor unless we installed a new subfloor. We were willing to install the new subfloor but he said that Empire doesn't do that, we'd need a contractor because that's like construction. He assured us that the floating laminate would be fine. Less than one year later, I contact Empire...no response. I contact Empire again and the customer service person found it strange I hadn't heard and said he'd send my inquiry to the manager. No response. I called my salesman who asked for a picture. I sent pictures.

No one even came to look at the actual floor. I get an e-mail - not the courtesy of a call and they refuse to repair the laminate that is being pushed up by what seems to be nails or something coming through the floor. This was not happening prior to installation but is sure happening now. Empire refuses to repair but will give me a price for repair! TERRIBLE!! Never heard again from the deceptive salesman either. Installation FANTASTIC!!! The crew who removed flooring and installed were EXCEPTIONAL. Unfortunate experience and I'm certainly not done yet with Empire but please...ask the right questions when dealing with this company because they are VERY invested in the quick sale at your home but not so invested in keeping you happy afterward. One would have thought they could have at least called me back. I'll add addendum if I make any progress with this complaint.

Updated on 06/05/2018: I had a large job done by Empire Today in July, 2017. Earlier this year, I wrote a review informing other potential customers that the while the process of buying and installing went well, once I reported that we have a problem with the flooring, there has been no acceptable response. After my first review, Empire responded and put us in contact with someone who eventually (after some confusion and cancelled appointment) came out. That appointment was in March, 2018 and in June, I have not heard.

I have reported this and was told that they said the repair was completed 2 weeks prior. Untrue. We never had the repair and Empire Today has yet to respond to my follow up calls to Customer Services. If you are in Massachusetts or Connecticut and thinking about using Empire Today, DO NOT. The early process is convincing to make the sale, follow up and standing by their product - AWFUL!!! Very disappointing and regrettably, I have 2 rooms and a hall that have flooring that is popping up and have not had a successful response from Empire Today. BEWARE.

Empire Today is advertised a lot and they have quick installation. I also considered the product itself. The only thing that I was a little bit disappointed in was when the girl came out to demonstrate the different patterns and colors, she didn’t have very many to choose from. She only had six and I’m not able to shop around so I just picked the carpet that I thought I really like and went with that. Otherwise, I would have probably chosen something with a little flexi color. But none of those had any color in them. Still, I’m very happy with the new carpet I got in my living room. I like the color, the texture and everything that came with it.

Horrible experience, lack of education to customers and very frustrating experience. Sale person was very friendly, working hard to give us a good deal for installing carpet of 3 bedrooms, hallway, living room, dining room and stair to basement. I told him we have couple areas that making squeaking noise and he said "no problem, we can fix it". Never mention or ask us about what kind of floor we have underneath the old carpet. Never tell us about our floor could make more squeaking noise after the install done. We have one 78 year old man and 4 women 73, 55, 53 & 40 at our house.

We had to packed, moved almost everything except very big items. We even moved all the dresser drawers so it will be easy for installer to move when install. When installer took out the old carpet, we saw the hardwood floor. About one inch width. The installer told us they only have big screw for plywood is not going to work with hardwood floors. So we didn't screw the floor. They never warn/tell us about, the floor going to make more noise. We have no experience on flooring, we didn't think with all of these heavy scraping staples, heavy banding new staples to the floor and putting new thick pad & new carpet it making our floors making more squeaking noise.

"Now every step we walk on our floors it making louder squeaking noise. Some of us live in the basement and it's hard to stay and sleep in our bedrooms nowadays. When we have guests come over, all we can think of our floors making noise. We didn't even think about show off our new carpet, after we had our old carpet for almost 20 years". We called customers service to have someone to check our floors, the installer came walk around about 2 minutes and told us they have to pull all carpet out and put screws on the floor. He will tell his manager and have him call us. 3 days later nobody call, I called back again, these frustrating phone calling last about a month and installer came 3 times (2 different person).

2nd time is the same thing, doing nothing, walk around and left less than 5 minutes. Customers service keep telling me putting screw on the floor not going to work, because there a plywood underneath the hardwood floor. She suggested we have "humidifier" to help the floor, I'm not sure what is she thinking, having humidifier turn on 24/7, 365 days. The 3rd time we asked installer to tried to put screw on the floor, to see if it works and it did. We willing to damage our hardwood floors to make the squeaking noise go away, but now Empire want $500. We told her we can only afford $200, she said it not even enough for screw. So we told her we will pay for the screw, they bring labors.

Now she saying they have to bring 2 person for one day of work is $500. "All she thinking of their labor's cost, how about our labor's. We have to pack our 3 bedroom, living room and dining room with 5 old people in our house." All of these last about 2 months, my "ulcer" came back. I haven't call them for 3 weeks now, still trying to get grip of my ulcer. I'm still not sure what to do next. I think Empire should pay for all of these, the sale man said, "No problem. We can fix the squeaking noise." Customers service said, they only cover the carpet, which we never get to enjoy it.

Would NOT recommend Empire Today. We had one problem after another. Carpet was not installed properly (not tracked down in several rooms & cut/pieced together in one of our closets. They also installed our bathroom flooring over some of their materials causing a bump in the flooring). They were not timely & did not deliver & install as promised at the time of sale. My husband ended up helping remove our old padding and put all our furniture back just so the installers could leave our house at a decent time (10pm, this happened more than once). In addition, once the snow melted, a mess of cigarette butts to clean up in our yard. Their resolution for our inconvenience of installation problems spanning 3 months and spending about $10k, refund us $300, that is not acceptable. This was decided by their Admin as I left a message for their CFO.

Then I selected and we went with it. I live in New York and the guys who installed it drove up from Connecticut. It's like a three-hour ride to come and install it, which surprised me because I assumed that Empire would use somebody more local. The English of the guys that came in was not great, but we didn't have to talk a lot and their work habits were excellent. They worked hard and they did a great job. The flooring looks great and I like that I don't have to wash it and I just use a dry sweeper on it.

My granddaughter had used Empire and I’ve always heard of Empire on the television. I was just mad at the beginning because they were gonna cut it outside and I said, “You can’t. It’s raining and it’s been raining and it’s been snowing all through the month of March. It still hasn’t stopped it would still be wet out there.” They kept telling me they were gonna come as soon as it ended. I said, “Don’t bother because it’s not gonna end.” And it didn’t. So the lady called and she said that their worker would cut it at the store. So he came and they had to bring it over and then they took away all the old carpeting and then he finished the whole job in two days. It was great. It turned out real nice. I’m very happy with them now.

My granddaughter had similar carpet though it was lighter. She used it upstairs at her house. I want it for my living room, dining room, hallway, office room and upstairs. So I took a shade darker it looks perfect. Everybody that has seen it loves it. I recommend it. If you have a driveway that’s big enough for them to cut the carpeting or if they have weather that’s good enough they can do that. But not for me. But I was very pleased with the end result. I’d do it again except I’d have to tell them in the beginning it has to be cut at the office. The way they said it I didn’t think it could be.

Had a salesperson come out and give me an estimate. Specifically told him the only way I would do the project was if they fixed the part of the subfloor that was bad and was told that yes they do that and that it would not be a problem. Day comes for the install and once they have got up to where the bad spot was at I was told they do not do that. So I try to call the salesman to no avail. Call the 800 Empire number and I am told, "Oh we don't do subfloor." Asked to speak to a manager and was told someone would call me within 24hrs. So then the salesperson calls me back and I tell him the situation and he says, "Oh we don't do subfloor," and I said, "Well you added it in on the price and it is on my receipt," and he hangs up on me. Then the local installation manager calls me and tells me they don't do that and I asked then why is it on my receipt. He then says he will get it taken care of.

Call installation manager back around noon the next day and I am told he is working on it but that I would probably have to do it myself (which is why I remind you I hired them in the first place). So to today the next day. Try to call the manager again, but now he is not answering his phone. So as looks like I will be contacting my Lawyer.

We had LVP installed in our home. LVP was 100% waterproof so we would not have any issues like if we spill a drink and the floor would swell up. We considered Lowe’s and Home Depot, but they just didn't have their ducks in a row, and Empire Today did. We had a very good crew that did the installation. There were a couple of hiccups. The warehouse shorted them a box of flooring and then they had to get the approval, but they solved the problem and they got it done the same day. About eight weeks before that, we also had another installation on another house we own, and the installation company they contracted was terrible.

The subcontractors came to our other house was three hours later than they were supposed to and it took them 10 hours for a job that should have taken only five hours, and then they had to come back for three hours the next day. It was a mess. Then where the carpet met the break in the room and they weren't prepared for that and it was still not right. Then they had to send the carpet company to stretch the carpet because the original group had it too short, and when the stretcher was put on it, it made a mark on my wall. Also, all the nails that were in the poured around molding, half of them are sticking out. So there was a significant amount of stuff that I was not happy with this installation. Other than that, I was happy with the latest one. The guys who installed the LVP were very nice and were very good craftsmen.

In the living room, we had a hardwood floor put in and then in the three bedrooms and our stairway, we had carpet put in, and everything looks good. The product was also good and the price was excellent. Empire Today had a special going on at that time and they sent their sales rep out to the house. He did very good. He brought the products in and he was able to show us everything we wanted to see. We sat down to talk about it and then we made the decision to go with them. He took his measurements and it was basically done quickly.

The install was very good and we were really pleased. But when they did the original install on the carpet, the installer did not have enough carpet for the stairway. He asked me if they ever talked to me about binding the edges of the carpet and I said no. He said he would make notes on everything and send it back to Empire so Empire would know that they need to come back out here and install the stairway. But two weeks went by and we didn’t hear anything.

Then we called up on it and I don’t know what happened at the main office but they dropped the ball on that. It was, “Oh yeah, we see that now.” Right after that, they were out there quickly and finished up the stairway. But the company down here that runs out of Tampa, Florida didn’t use the person they used for the binding of the edges anymore. So we went ahead and just had the top done on like we had originally on the carpet before this, which looks good. The only thing that upset us was the waiting period and the fact that we had to call back to get it done. Nonetheless, I’ve recommended Empire Today to several people who were looking for flooring.

Three areas of concern: I had specific requests that fell on deaf ears: regarding how I wanted the old wood floor in living room and hall to blend with new kitchen floor - both other rooms on either side of the kitchen floor. Second, I noticed as I'm now painting the wall/baseboards, the floor in one area did not extend under baseboard, it stopped short of baseboard that was noticeable only if close to the wall. Finally, the flooring is a poor grade. The floor dents easily: if you drop a knife or pot on the floor. My old floor was Bruce, does not compare!

We have a two bedroom apartment and we couldn’t afford to put carpet on the whole thing so we just did the dining room, the living room, and the hallway. We felt that Empire was a more established company and they had an interest-free financing so we went with them. We could also do that with the other company we were considering, but we would have to go through an outside source. So we went with Empire because everything was inclusive with them. Also, Empire presented its carpet in a more professional manner than the other company that just showed flashes which were thrown out on the floor rather than presenting it in the kind of binders that they used.

We felt a little bamboozled, too, because Empire's presentation was filled with song and dance. They showed us what we wanted then we couldn't afford it so we had to go with the last choice which turned out to be not the kind of quality that we wanted. Once we got the carpet, we could see that it was the same quality as the people we were going to go with but the price was double. That’s where the disappointment was. Instead of being more upfront, there was all of the “If you did it this way, you could get this. Then, if you did it that way, you could get this.” We would have gone with the more expensive choice but there was not a good selection of color.

It was also disappointing not being able to communicate with the installers who came out because they didn’t speak English. We were trying to indicate to them that we just had our paint job so they should be careful. But we ended up with finger prints on the wall and slices on our flooring when they were slicing the carpet. Other than that, it’s nice to have new carpets. And because we know that the quality is not very good and it will quickly degrade, we’re kind of walking around on eggshells and we're very conscientious of putting runners all over the place. I would tell my friends that if they're going with Empire, they should watch the installers that they're going to get to make sure that they are doing what is expected. They should also be careful not to let the salesperson lead them down the way that is not what they want and make sure that they keep a broad sense of what Empire's offering.

We think Empire Today has a good product, and gives good service. We had looked around at different places, but I think we got a better deal with them. We got Luxury vinyl tile and we really love it. It’s nice to have flooring versus carpet. We like the color and durability. It seems to be holding up well and has met all of our expectations. We’ve had really good experience twice now. We’ve used them in our home in Palm Springs and we like the product. It worked out well. The salesman is very quick to get out here when we call. And then they sent out the crew, and they got it all done in one day. They were timely and got the job done quickly. So, it's all good. One should give them a call and look at their products and see what they have.

I have a vinyl rug installed through Empire Today. I considered another place which has been there for umpteen years but they were a little more expensive than Empire. The Empire rug also had a good backing. I have it from the front door through the kitchen because it looks like hardwood floors. And I've had my carpet come to the door facing but it doesn't come all the way because I got tired of putting carpet with the little round cut-out things and then you just step off of them right onto the carpet.

So the way this is, when you come in, you just walk right on the same thing. It's all in one piece from the kitchen into the living room. Then my carpet goes back after that. But where the stuff went up to the carpet, when they cut it, it cut a little piece. Then I had to have this little wood stripping that went down it and that covered it so you don't see it. But they kind of snagged it out a little bit there but that piece comes down over it so you don't see it. They didn't leave any of the tiles. Even I could've put a little piece and patched it. I wondered why they didn't.

I also had to talk to somebody about what can I do to clean it. All I've done is just take a damp mop. I haven't put any kind of cleaner or anything on it because I was afraid. When I called on the phone and asked somebody about it she said that she would send me a pamphlet. I couldn't really understand them. They were very nice and one could speak English good but the other one talked everything to him in their language. But I like my flooring. It blends in with my cabinets real good.

I liked Empire Today's salesperson. She was nice and more forthright with the information while the other vendors I talked to just really didn’t care. Empire Today's cost was also cheaper compared to the other brands I considered while the quality of their product was pretty comparable. I ended up buying carpet which I had installed in the basement, stairs, and sunroom of my home. So far, it has met my expectations and it's the best quality of general carpet. I would tell my friends to go ahead and deal with Empire Today but to make sure that they work with the same salesperson and installation team that I had.

Empire Today had about the same carpet quality with other brands but with better pricing. I was happy with the quality and the previous installers were great. My home's walls had no marks, no nothing. It was a freshly painted wall also within a week. It was the same carpet, different color, and everything was great. But this time, I was not happy with the installation. They scraped up the walls and they were rude about it.

They took the paint off the walls when they installed the carpet. When I said something to them, they tried to tell me I bought cheap paint. Then the installer took the carpet and showed me how it was so easy to scrape off of the walls, but I was trying to tell him that the carpet shouldn’t even have touched the walls. I had to retouch up my walls and I wasn’t happy with that. I said something to Empire and then somebody did call me to ask me about the install. I told them, and they didn’t say anything. They just took my info and said, "Okay." I hesitate to go with Empire again 'cause you never know what kind of installers you're going to get.

I had carpet installed in the family room and the master bedroom by Empire Today. We used them before. We liked the style and the comfort of the carpet. The installers had to rip off the wood flooring. But the quality of the work done was excellent. Empire Today is a good company. I’m well-satisfied.

We had carpeting installed by Empire Today in our family room, living room, dining room and our four bedrooms. We had prior experience with Empire Today and we decided to go with them again because of the speed of the installation. Their salesman understood what we wanted to do and he taught us a lot about carpeting. The carpet we had installed was stain resistant and I like the color that I picked. But the teams the did the installation were misaligned this time. Three guys came to do the family room, living room, and the dining room and it was all done in an hour and a half. The following day, only two guys came to do the four bedrooms and it was a larger project and it took them five hours to do the installation. Other than that, the carpeting has met my expectations and I have told my neighbor about Empire Today.

We had dealt with Empire Today on previous projects and we were happy with their installation. This time, we had them put in blinds on all the windows of our home. So far, the new blinds have met my expectations. My favorite thing about them is that there are no cords. I just push them up or pull them down with my hands. Empire Today's price is also comparable to other brands. If people would ask me about Empire Today, I'll tell them not to hesitate to use them.

I had Empire Today install something in my kitchen and the entries that were in the door, and the result was good. Also, the representatives were good. Empire and the other companies have the same prices and I expected they were going to be on sale but there was not much on sale. They also claim on TV that you’ll be sent 75% off but it was not true. I have another kitchen I want to get done but I’m trying to see if they still have the 75% off. Overall, Empire was very professional and they did the job. They didn’t break anything.
