Terrible, my carpet is 9 months old. I purchased the top padding and carpet (Mohawk). Carpet is very worn and after cleaning it has spots reappearing. My sales guy Brian said warranty 10 years, will not wear, will not show spots or they will replace it. Just received a call from Empire after 6 weeks from the time the technician and inspector came out. The manufacture said the carpet is fine and will not warranty. $8,000.00 later. Seriously do not trust this company.
We regret to hear that your carpet is not meeting your expectations. We'll be in touch with you shortly to further discuss your concerns.

Empire Today had done some work for us before, some laminate flooring in the living room, and they did a great job, so I called them back. It was time to update the kitchen floor because it had been 20 years. It was a linoleum type of product that Empire Today put in the kitchen floor here not long ago. The rep was a nice guy and did a really good job. They were very efficient. The installers also did a great job. They went right to work and didn't stop until they were finished. My flooring's great and I love it. I went from carpet to that laminate flooring. In the next year, I'd probably go with getting my bedrooms done and carpet.
The main thing I considered was people's ability to do a really good job at what they do, and that would be the advice I would give anybody that was thinking about having laminate put down. I would tell my friends to call and get an estimate from Empire Today. I'm the kind of person that gets two to three estimates and doesn't just go with the first company. I try to do a little investigating what kind of work they do. But if a friend asked me, I'd tell him to call Empire and let them come out and give him an estimate. If it was reasonable, I'd go with them. Otherwise, I'd get another estimate. I would definitely recommend Empire Today.

My daughter got an advertisement on her computer that Empire Today was on 75% off, so even though I wasn't thinking of replacing the carpet, I decided it was time to contact Empire Today and get a good deal with the sale. We ended up getting laminate flooring for the family room, the living room, the dining room and the hallway. The product we got, however, was a bit thinner than I expected. But after it was installed, it seems to be holding up. The installers did a good job. We were supposed to have three guys but the third one was sick so the two guys needed a couple of days to do the job. The first day, they ripped out the carpeting, did some preparation and did some work. Then the next day, they finished. And I was happy with them. I had Empire before so I went with them and I would go with them again.

I had some Berber carpet from Empire Today installed in my bedrooms. Empire is not as high as CC Carpet, which I also talked to, so I went with them. Besides, Empire is a good brand. It's fine, as far as I'm concerned. And, since Berber was what I wanted, their representative brought in some sample and that's all he brought in. The carpet is durable and easy to vacuum. I'm 89 years old and I can’t push a heavy vacuum so it's okay.

I had some laminate flooring installed by Empire Today. It was what my wife wanted and she picked it out. The rep was very personable and he showed a lot of different products. The installation team was really nice. However, what we thought we were getting and what we got were two different things. I expected a 10 but what I got was a 7. The flooring wound up being very, very thin as compared to what was shown. One must make sure to know what they're getting because once you made up your mind and you sign on the dotted line, there ain't nothing you can do about it. But as long as the wife's happy, it's all good.
Your feedback is important to us, and we'll be further reviewing your concerns.

Sales rep worked with us to pick out the correct ceramic tile and grout, along with quarter round trim. At time of installation, the installer began to lay tile with no grout. I called the sales rep and told him of the problem and told the installer to stop the installation. The sales rep called back and said they had to complete the installation because it was a 'hazard' to not complete the tile. I didn't understand this and the installer was pressuring us that he had to finish or he wouldn't get paid. The sales rep agreed to come out and assess the job.
He came out and assessed the job and took several pictures. He agreed the job was not correct and the workmanship was very bad. He apologized over and over. He also said that the installation crew had been fired. It is now 1 month later and a new installation date was provided and yet, no one showed up. I believe the sales rep is genuine, but Empire clearly has a problem with resources to install and communication with them. The sales rep has mentioned he has shared this with his manager, but no one else has contacted me. In short, they did not deliver what they stated (in writing), did a very poor job and have not resolved the job or repaired the damage to my home.
We're sorry to hear about this, and we apologize sincerely. We'll be following up with you soon to learn more.
Thank you.

I had Empire Today install tile in my kitchen and carpet in my family room. I liked how they did the family room so much. The guys they sent out to put the carpet down were excellent. They did a beautiful job. So, I also wanted the two bedrooms done. I had the guy gave me a price on the bedrooms and I was okay with it and I ordered the same carpet for my bedroom. On the day of installation, the rep called me and told me the carpet was discontinued. And I said, “Well, how can it be discontinued and how did y’all let me order it?” My house was a mess. My mom is 83 years old, she's sleeping on a couch and I got all the furniture everywhere because I took all the furniture out of the bedroom for them to do the carpet.
I talked to a lady at Empire and she said that they’ll let me pick another carpet and they would give me a discount off the price they already gave me just because it was their fault. I called back and heard nobody confirmed it and they gave me a long runaround. I asked them why someone can't do it as it was their fault. I’m a loyal customer and I'm trying to do my whole house. I was very disappointed in Empire’s service. They put a person after person on the phone like they didn’t even know who I talked to. One person finally told me who I talked to but they couldn’t get the lady on the phone. Then I told them that I don’t even want their carpet anymore and I cancelled the order. When I was buying a new carpet, Empire was okay and honest, but when I had a problem, they did not help me. Right now, I wouldn’t recommend Empire Today to anybody.

We had some laminate flooring done by Empire in our kitchen. We were told that it would be a little more pet-friendly than the wood floors. Installation went very well. It is finished, but the Empire guys are coming back to fix something that somebody else from another company messed up. Nevertheless, Empire Today was a pleasant experience. They did a great job both times that they came out, so we have been really happy.

I’m almost 68 years old. I live alone in a one-bed apartment without a pet. I had carpeting done in my bedroom by Empire Today 14 months before and then another 14 months later. The wear and tear was terrible. Also, I had it done several times where I live before. When I had it installed the last time, I had two installers that were so horrible. They were insulting, screaming, yelling at me. And I had every single thing out of my room that I was able to pick up because I have one piece of furniture that’s built in so that they didn’t even have to move that. However, they wouldn’t install it because they said I had a medical bed. Yet I don't have a medical bed, it was a Craftmatic type of bed.
So I spoke to the manager of the installation area of Empire and he was also crazy. Then I got a call from a man named Trevor who was wonderful. He was more of a district manager and he handled the problem perfectly and I told him the whole story. I told him that the installation manager didn't even wanna listen and I'm certainly capable of articulating that my carpeting was installed so many times with the same bed. A week later, I got my carpeting installed by a different installer and he did the best job and he put everything back for me and he got a $100 tip. Other than that, the salesman who sold it to me was the most wonderful, kindest, gentlest, quickest, nicest man. His name was Michael and he's the same salesman who helped me 14 months ago. While I had a very bad experience with the very first two installers, the other installer did a good job. Overall, I still recommend Empire Today.

I talked to a friend of mine that owned a construction company and consulted him. He said the price from Empire Today was good and that I should take it. The sales rep was very helpful. She had to come twice because the first time we ordered, the thing was out of stock. She came back for plan B and she did that within 24 hours which was good. She was on top of that kind of stuff. We had them install tiles in the kitchen and the utility room connection. Freddy and his assistant were very good and helpful. The installation was very well-done and the flooring looks good. And considering Empire is out of Illinois and working in Oklahoma, they’re doing fine with the communication to the customer. I would tell others to get out, see what Empire can do for them, and have a sales rep come over.

I purchased the luxury vinyl flooring. They came out promptly to install it. The only problem was they realized they were 2 boxes short in the end. The installer assured me he would be back the next weekend to finish. I waited all day the next Saturday, they were a no call no show. I called customer service many times, they said they couldn’t get in touch with the installers and didn’t know what to tell me. The manager Larry assured me that the next Saturday I would be the first stop that morning. I waited all day again and the installers showed up at 7:30 pm! If you use Empire pray everything goes smooth because if you have an issue with anything there is zero customer service and many excuses. I will never use them again or recommend them to anyone. If I could give them zero stars I would.

A salesperson came to my house to show me and a neighbor flooring. We both have the same house model. I wanted to see different types of flooring, such as engineered hardwood, vinyl and laminate. He brought in the laminate and vinyl but not the engineered hardwood. Not much of a choice, much less than it shows on the website. He said that he didn't have time to show me the engineered hardwood because he had another appointment. He arrived an hour after the beginning of the two hour time frame due to traffic. That I can understand but telling me he did not have time to show the flooring was not professional. I did like one of the other types but wasn't completely sold. Got the sales pitch of bringing the flooring down in price and then when I told him I wouldn't be signing a contract at that time, he seemed to lose interest. Might be done with this company.

I was very happy with my experience with Empire Today. The salesman came out and he was very knowledgeable. He had a lot of patience and answered all our family’s questions. The team that came out and installed the floor was very professional. They were very respectful and cleaned up the mess when they left. Also, they came out when they said they were gonna come out. The floor is of really good quality and better than I anticipated. We got the hardwood and it was quite a large sized room, a 23 x 31, which was a lot to cover and it looked really good when they put it down. It's really durable and I’m really happy. I would definitely recommend Empire. I would tell my friends to give them a call, be open-minded and see what they tell them. So far, everything came in good.

Quality is why we chose Empire and we’ve been a customer for the past 15 years. We've never experienced any problems and we went back to them to install carpeting on the hallways, four bedrooms, and stairs in our home. We like our salesperson. This was the first time we had him and he was very nice. They didn't have the carpet that we ordered so they gave us a better quality carpet which cost more. But it was our other choice of carpet which was very nice. Then, when they were moving our furniture, they broke our bed. Our bedroom furniture was brand-new and it has never been moved, Empire was the only people that ever moved it. But we never called about it. I'm a claim adjuster and it would be more pain in the butt to go through a claim with them than to just fix it ourselves. I thank that my husband is handy.
A follow-up call from a customer service representative would have been nice after it was installed to ask if everything was okay. We could have explained what had happened with our bedroom furniture at that point. We experienced a couple of difficulties this time but overall, the experience was great. Call the sales guy that we had because he was very customer service friendly. He followed up even when he had his own family to deal with and he was still following up with us to get our problem fixed the night before our carpet was supposed to be installed.

Extremely disappointed with Empire. The salesman steered me towards something I wasn't even interested in and when all was complete (albeit the workmen did a good job) the floor looked cheap - nowhere near the 2100.00 paid. Not only did I receive none of the acclaimed customer satisfaction but chased them down for months, having to call numerous times, and I mean numerous. They were in no way willing to work with me, offering 100.00 rebate to end the issue. I feel that if they spent as much money satisfying the customer as opposed to advertising, they would be a better company.

The sale was relatively easy with the salesperson. I managed to receive a good deal compared to competitors. The install was very good albeit the amount of dusk that was in the living room. I blame the problem on those who built the house. I’ve had problems with Empire Today from the start. The sales rep showed up and didn’t have as many samples as I thought he would. That was the first issue. It went downhill from there. I decided on the carpet and the rooms I wanted done. I got a call a few days later with an install date that was incorrect. I called and texted the rep a few times, but he didn’t respond. Days later I called customer service and complained that my rep didn’t respond to my attempts to fix the situation. I was asked if I wanted to file a complaint or have customer service send a text asking him to call me. I said I didn’t want to get the guy in trouble and decided on the text.
In the meantime I looked at my contract and noticed it was for one room, not three. I finally talked to the rep the next day and he said he’d change the order. He texted the dollar amount for the “new order” and it was over $400 more than he quoted me at my home. (Luckily I have a bad memory, so I had let the rep know at the time that I would record our sales meeting.)
The rep didn’t believe me when I told him his new price was too high. I played the recording for him and his response was, “I can’t do it for that price, I won’t make any money. I’ve got to get paid!” I told him I didn’t appreciate the bait and switch and asked for his supervisor’s name. He refused and told me to just call customer service. I called customer service and said I wanted to file a complaint. I was shuffled from one rep to another and was told I’d get a call back to file the complaint. It didn’t happen. I finally spoke to another rep to get my deposit back and was offered a deal better than the original price quoted by the shady sales rep. I scheduled an install date and I was assured by two different reps I would get three rooms done with the carpet I wanted.
On the day of the installation I was ready for my new carpet and I was so happy this ordeal was almost over. But no! I meet the installers and they have an order for just one room. WTH!? I say, "Ok. Do the one room and I’ll call and get this straightened out." Three times I called the rep who gave me the deal and he never called me back. Now I’m stuck with only one room done and we’ve already ripped up the carpet in the other two rooms and the furniture is piled in my living room. I’m still trying to get the situation rectified. I’m beyond dissatisfied! This is just ridiculous. I will never ever ever use or recommend Empire Today! I don’t care how low the price is. What a nightmare!
Updated on 05/21/2018: I wrote a review on May 7, 2018 about my carpet nightmare and I received a quick response from Empire Today Carpet stating they want to solve the problem with my partial install. It should have been 3 bedrooms, a big closet and a small hallway, but only 1 bedroom and closet were done. Now I’m stuck with the carpet ripped up in two bedrooms and furniture piled in my living room. It’s been there for more than a month!
I’ve had issues from the start. It began with the very unprofessional sales rep didn’t respond to my phone calls and texts and then he gave me one price for the job and when I told him the contract he sent me was for only one bedroom, he wrote up a new contract and said the job would cost $400 more than the original price he quoted. I reminded him that, because I have a bad memory, I had recorded our conversation when he came to my house for the initial sales call and I had a recording of him giving me the lower price. He didn’t believe me so I played the recording for him. After a moment of stunned silence he said, “I can’t do it for that price, I won’t make any money. I’ve got to get paid!” I was shocked.
I told him I didn’t appreciate the bait and switch and I asked for his supervisor’s name. He wouldn’t give it to me. He told me to just call customer service. So I called and got the runaround. I was transferred from one customer service rep to another. I told one rep I wanted to file a complaint and I was given a reference number and told I’d get a call in a couple of days to file the complaint. I never got the call so I called again and the rep said they would call me back, but it never happened. I’m so frustrated! I’ve talked to 4 representatives since the partial install who said they would get everything straightened out and install the correct carpet in all of the rooms that should have been done more than a month ago. But no, that hasn’t happened.
I’ve had representatives say they would help me and then I wouldn’t hear from them for days or sometimes not at all. I finally spoke to a rep who said they need to come back out and measure the rooms again so a new contract could be written. They have the measurements from the sales rep who came out in early April, but for some reason they can’t use those measurements. I’ve moved out of the house, so now I have to make the 30-minute drive and spend hours waiting for the new sales rep to show up to measure and then I have to wait for an appointment for the install and drive out there again and sit around all day again so they can finally install the carpet in all of the rooms I’ve been trying to get done since April! I am so frustrated! I can’t wait for this nightmare to end.

I had a bedroom and a hallway carpeted with really great installation by Empire Today and it’s just like walking on clouds. I had a friend who lays carpet and he recommended Empire Today. He said that it’s better to go with a well-known name than somebody that I don’t know. I’ve had projects at my house over a period of time and it took many days. But Empire Today could do the install in the same day. I also liked the half off sales deal they gave me and so I’m gonna get two more rooms carpeted in the late August. I’m a new homeowner and I never owned a home before. I just wanna make all the comforts of my home that I deserve to have.
Two guys did the installation and they were singing and happy as can be, so it was a nice experience. They also called before they came. I was told to use water for cleaning, but I’ve got a lot of drywall dust now in my house because I’m having my bathroom redone and the brand-new carpeting doesn’t look new anymore. We weren’t in touch with Empire Today as often as I would’ve liked to. After it was all done, I’ve been contacted three times for surveys, so I like if somebody would care enough. Moreover, the agent who came mentioned a window treatment and I would also like samples. So overall, I’ve already recommended Empire Today.

I had the bathrooms, bed rooms and living rooms carpeted in August of 2015 and had laminate for the kitchen, pantry, entry, and the laundry. All the floors in the house were from Empire Today. The installers and Norm, my first salesman, were very nice. My laminate is beautiful and for the carpeting, I have the Primrose Lane and got the best padding at that time. I was also told that I could walk on the carpet with shoes when mostly everybody has to take off theirs because we got the best carpeting.
Then I found out a couple of weeks ago that they discontinued it because it was not wearing well like mine. I called Empire Today first. I tried to talk to Norm's boss because I wanted to explain. And then when Norm got him on the phone, he yelled, "No, no, no!" and hung up. The boss didn't want to talk to me. Then I called Mohawk who said they’d tell Empire to make a claim on it. Empire was supposed to have done a claim for me in January and I don't know what happened to that. So last Thursday, a girl made a claim on it for me but I haven't got anything back on it yet.
In the mean time, my salesman, Mohawk and the lady suggested we discontinue the carpet. Then Mohawk was trying to make me buy more carpet for more money even though they said that Empire would be responsible. I already paid almost $9,000 for the Primrose Lane and they wanted me out another $8,000 for another kind of carpet. They weren’t replacing my carpet and wanted me to put more money into it so I can have all new carpets in my expense. I called back and they sent me a card in the mail. Then I called back again. The cheapest I could go was $6,500. And I wasn’t getting any credits.
Then Mohawk wanted me to pay $125 for somebody to come and check the carpet. I told them I was not gonna do that because I paid all that money and was waiting for my laminate which I kept stalling off because I wanted them to see the carpet first. Then finally, we came to a conclusion. I would pay them $125 with my credit card and they would take it off at the end of the bill. A man named Mike came and he just stated the financial way. My first carpet looked terribly bad so I asked him to help me out with it. He went back and I thought he was gonna send it to Mohawk, but he gave it to Empire and might have said that everything was fine when it wasn’t.
So then, I talked to many people from Empire asking them to do something about my carpeting. I called them back a couple of weeks ago and they didn't call me back. My daughter buys and rents out houses. She said, "Mama, we didn't buy one from them.". Then a guy who remodels houses came in with my grandson. I asked him if he would like to try to fix it and he said he wouldn't take the carpet because it looks like hell. I'm very dissatisfied with Empire Today until they help me out.

I had vinyl flooring and laminate steps installed yesterday, May 5th. The estimator ensured that the vinyl flooring and steps would match our existing floor in the dining room during our initial walk-through of our house. After viewing it after installation was completed, it's obvious that none of it matches. It doesn't even come close to matching.
The estimator and installation crew ensured us that each plank of vinyl would change in color, which would match the current floor, but all of the planks installed are the exact same color scheme. The laminate steps installed look horrible. They look like they were installed in the quickest and cheapest way possible. I have reached out to the estimator numerous times and he constantly won't return any of my calls. The man that installed the floors continued to say that it was a Saturday and they needed to move quickly since they close early. Terrible customer service. I expect a full refund and will find a company who is honest and does quality work.
Updated on 05/19/2018: After the Empire sales associate and installers assured me that the vinyl floors would match our pre-existing flooring, I returned to find the color of the flooring a complete contrast. The steps don't even match the flooring that was installed in the den and looks like a third grader installed it. After having a professional flooring expert from Spectrum Floors view the the installation, he was completely appalled by the craftsmanship and assured me that no reputable contractor would approve of such poor work. Spectrum proceeded to match the floors perfectly and were honest and respectable throughout the entire process. To top it all off, after Empire completely botched the job and mismatched the floors, I still have Empire leaving voicemails on my cellphone stating that they won't reimburse me for the floors, even though their employees were dishonest and disregarded any form of customer service.
They informed me that it doesn't matter if the floors don't match, even though that was my request as a customer. This company doesn't care about their customers. They only care about making a buck. Do yourself a favor and don't hire them. Contact a professional and save yourself the headache. I have included the pictures below so that you can see how badly they mismatched the floors and steps to the den area. The pictures on top that showcase the floors not matching is Empire's work. The pictures at the bottom that showcase the floors matching perfectly was the new work done by Spectrum. The pictures don't lie. Remember that it doesn't matter if it looks like crap and the customer isn't happy. All that matters to Empire is that they're compensated. Do NOT hire this company.

On April 23rd we took off work to get this installation done. We were told it would take one day to do small bathroom and kitchen. The installer didn't call at 9 or 10 so I called sales person and he said the installer will call me soon with ETA. It's 12:30 nothing - I called sales person again - finally I got a call and he said he would be here at 2 which he was. He was by himself. Said his helper's wife was having a baby. He did not leave until 11:00 and had to come back tomorrow - so I ended up taking the rest of the week as a vacation.
I was so stressed out. He showed at ten and finished the job - Empire requires C.O.D. before they start the job which I think is ridiculous but this guy didn't. I was not going to pay for it until I got restitution - I called the office and expressed how unhappy I was. They offered me $150.00 off - which at the end of the day sounded like that was all I could get. We PAID $2500.00 for same day plus I found some nicks on my fiberglass tub and sink, my stove handle is broke from being moved around by one man. I thought an Empire truck would show up - not the case. It was a junky van. I will never recommend this company to anyone!

We got hardwood floors from Empire Today and had it installed in three bedrooms, a hall, a den and a sunroom. We negotiated the price and I was well satisfied with how it came out. The flooring exceeded my expectations and we especially love what we had put in the den and the sunroom. But the crew that laid the floors was supposed to do a two-day job and they didn’t show up. They showed up here about 10:00 on a Friday morning and I told them not to bother unloading because unless they can get this done like promised, we ain’t gonna get started. They told me that I am the boss and it is gonna be done. They started about quarter after 10:00 on a Friday morning and they finished at about 10:30, Friday evening.
I went and bought their lunch and brought it back in. I set it on the dining room table and told them to take a break and eat. One of them went and they’d come in, they’d take a bite, and they’d keep working. They’d come back, take another bite. They never stopped. They were unbelievable. And I don’t think they even went to the bathroom the whole day. I’ve owned a lot of houses and had a lot of work done and this topped it all.
The only problem that I had, and it has nothing to do with the crew, but where the door frames were originally, when this house was built, it was built more or less with carpet. And there was a gap between the floor and the door frame, which was when the carpet was in here it covered it up. Of course, the hardwood does not and there’s a gap under the door frames to the house. And one of the guys said that you can’t put any wood around it because it’ll look terrible which I agreed with. I asked about caulking it but he said it would even be worse. He knew what he was talking about so I said nobody sees it but me and I don’t really care. But I couldn’t ask for a better job. Empire Today needs to do more business in the area, and I’m sure they will. I have already recommended them to several people.

Empire Today just installed a kitchen floor. I had high hopes since I had received a good recommendation from a friend. I must say that the installer they sent out did a very good job, but they sent out only one person and I had pointed out that I had a lot of heavy furniture that needed to be moved. I had chosen a pattern called Golden Gate when speaking to the salesman. The installer asked if I had chosen Golden Gate to confirm order. Installer removed my old tile and prepped my floor. At this time all my kitchen appliances were in my living room along with my other kitchen items.
When he started laying the LVT, I saw the pattern was not what I picked out. Installer called office. Name on boxes of tile was Golden Glaze. Supervisor said that was all they had and salesman must have had an old sample. My only choice was to install what I had or wait until salesman could come back out and pick out something else. In the meantime my living area was compromised. There was no apology or accommodation to my dilemma. Feeling there was no choice I accepted what was there. At the end, there was two plus boxes of tile leftover for a small kitchen they had measured for LVT that had a lifetime guarantee. Supervisor said I could return one box if I wanted but they would not credit the cost to me. This was a stressful experience with no cooperation from the supervisory staff for mistakes they had made. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

My floors in the living room, the dining and the laundry room and a little bit of small bathroom and my bedroom were done by Empire Today. Then I had their guy look at the basement and he said he was gonna give me this sort of plastic flooring that looked like wood but and that my bill would stay the same. But he would not be able to do it until I pay $1,749, so I gave them a check for that. And then he said that I was gonna owe them $6,700. I asked him four times if he was sure if this was all I would have to pay, and he said yes and assured there would be no more.
But when Wells Fargo sent me a bill, it was around $9,000. I called Empire Today and they said that they knew my bill wasn’t gonna be that much and that I had to call up Wells Fargo. Also, they said they would be in contact with me and that I had to make sure I paid the $171 before the deadline for this month so I would not have those late fees, which I did. We've had Empire do work for us years ago and this time, we had cobblestone vinyl flooring for the kitchen and dining room. We went back to Empire because of the work that they do and their products. It took them two days to put it in. And when the salesman was out here, he didn't tell us anything like that. He said it would take five hours to do the job but the installers got here at about 11 o'clock and they didn't leave until 12 o'clock at night.
They couldn't put the flooring down on the linoleum that was there and when they took the linoleum off, there were belays and hard spots on the concrete floor. So, they had to come back the next day and finish it. They had it all straighten out in order to get the vinyl to work properly on the floor. The installer did a great job. They seamed it in the dining room and you couldn't even see where they did it. You wouldn't want a better job done. But I wish somebody would send me information on how to properly clean this.

I used to live down here in Louisiana in 2005 and that’s when hurricane Katrina hit down here. And we lived down in Saint Bernard Parish. And the house that I owned down there, the only land you could see was one foot from the ridge of the house and one foot down, and then the rest was water. So, we moved out here to Slidell and bought this house. This house also had 30 inches of water in it, but the previous owners guttered it out at 3-foot and they redid the house. But as somebody doing it as an investment, they put the cheapest thing they could put in there.
We’ve been here since 2006 and with both my wife and I just retired, we decided to redo the whole house and everything in it. We had seen Empire on television and they had a really good deal on it. It was 50 or 75 percent off of the original price. And so, we went ahead and got it done. I had Empire Today install my living room and dining room with their new laminate flooring, but it didn’t have the caulk back on it. It had three or four different types of material on the back of the flooring and then they had the laminate on top of that. And then I had three bedrooms carpeted, and four closets.
When the rep came out to show me the samples of the material and the different types of carpets, I asked him how many days will it take. He said they’ll be finished in one day. They came and they got here at about 8:00 o’clock in the morning. There were four guys. Two of them did the carpet and two of them did the laminate part of it. The only reason that they didn’t finish that day was because the salesman didn’t figure out the right footage on the carpet. So they were missing two closets, about nine square feet. But everything else was completed. They did get out on a Friday and they said they would be back Saturday. But I told them it’s no big hurry and Monday morning would be fine because it was supposed to rain Saturday and I have a new carpet, and I wouldn’t wanna take a chance on messing it up. They came in on Monday and within an hour, they completed the whole project and it came out really great.
The flooring really looks good. The pattern of the laminate matched perfectly with the décor of my house. And I was really surprised because I kept telling my wife, “Hon, now we’re gonna have to go to Home Depot and buy some molding to go around the house of the laminate.” I used to be a carpenter so I knew that you don’t cut every piece in to where it doesn't need any kind of molding. And she said, “Yeah, well, we’ll just do what we gotta do”. And then all of a sudden, they came in and the guy came in with the box and he started pulling the molding out to do the molding. I didn’t have to lift a finger.
I have some pretty substantial furniture in my house and in my bedrooms. As a matter of fact, in my master bedroom, my bed has the one that rises at the top and the foot. It’s heavy and they moved everything. They never scratched a wall. Being a professional carpenter myself and a cabinet maker, I know what to look for and I couldn’t find any defects. They really did good of a job, they were very professional and they were very punctual too. I would definitely recommend them to anyone that was looking to have their floor done in their house. The experience was absolutely great.

I will say the price was great. However, the contractor sold us solid hardwood that he said didn’t scratch. That was definitely not true. The floor scratches pretty easily. Also, when the installers came, they told us the flooring we bought was not compatible with our sub flooring. Our carpet and hardwood had already been removed, so the contractor should have known this. After a bunch of phone calls between the two, they decided it would work. Well now the floor is squeaky and is splitting apart! I have big cracks between boards. The installers were nice, but they were very rushed at the end and it shows. I’m pretty sure they were supposed to put quart around up and they never did. They also left an open slot under fridge. They were at our house late in the evening. They told us they couldn’t come back the next day because they had a new job.

On April 2, 2018 I met with a salesman of Empire Today to select carpet. He was pleasant, professional and helpful. Due to a busy install schedule the carpet could not be installed until April 13th. I agreed to the date and 1130 install time. I had to take the day off work for the install and it was important for them to be punctual. The scheduler called me at 10:30am and stated that they were on the way. At 11:30 I called and again, I was told they were on the way. I waited all day and did not receive a call until 330 from an installer that claimed he was at my house when in fact he was not! I continued to attempt to contact a manager and did not receive a call until 530pm. The manager identified himself as Chris **. Despite being a manager Chris was unable to provide me a reason why they were a no call no show. He was unable to provide me any information at all.
Chris claimed he was only able to offer me a $86 dollar credit. I was shocked after taking a day off work and a no call no show that $86 was his offer of resolution. After all Chris is the General Manager, he should be able to do more and must have some idea of what happened, but apparently not. I declined use Empire Today and told him we could cancel the contract. I told him I would go to RC Willey or another reputable company in the area. I told him I did not want to continue doing business with them and canceled the order.
The following day I received a call the following day from another manager. He was apologetic and stated that he could have an installer there on April 19th. An installer would be there between 300pm and 500pm. He explained that Chris was aware of this and was hopeful to retain the business. In addition I was told they would also give me an area rug, and an additional $50 off. Specifically the rug would be a piece of carpet that could be used as a rug but due to the company not having a binding machine it would not be binded. I agreed to give the company another try.
On April 19th I waited for the arrival and once again no one showed up at 300pm as Chris and the other manager promised. It was not until 800pm that the installer showed up after a plethora of calls to Chris. Once again Chris despite being the manager had no explanation of why they did not show up. The installer who clearly was unaware of all the issues began his work and was very polite. A few minutes into the job he alerted me that he was not provided enough material for the job and would have to come back another day, but he would finish what he could with the material he had. At 930pm I told him that my family needed to go to sleep. I attempted to call Chris but he did not answer. The following day Chris informed me that he was asleep when I had called. I was shocked by his response of sleeping when his customer and his installer were still dealing with the job.
The following day Chris explained that they needed to send the installer with more material. He was scheduled a third time for Saturday April 21st. Throughout the process I spoke with a manager located in Chicago by the name of Angelica. She attempted to bridge the lines of communication and I was told since she was from corporate that she had more authority to help rectify the situation. I felt this was ridiculous for many reasons, she was in Chicago thus a time zone challenge, and second, Chris was a local General Manager of the area. Additionally the communication between the Chicago corporate office and local office was inaccurate, they were not communicating. This was evident after Angelica was able to provide me with an additional $50 discount, for a total discount of $130, when I was presented with the bill from the installer he was on the phone for 20 minutes because the discount was not reflected on the account.
It took four weeks to complete the job. One no call or show from an installer, and two additional trip to complete installation. Two days of work that I took off for installation and countless calls between local and corporate management. The rug they promised was a piece of uneven, odd shaped scrap that was left over from the my job, this piece would have been discarded after the job.
Upper management is clearly insulated by lower sub-par supervisors. When problems arise lower supervisors are neither empowered nor savvy enough to authorize compensation or solve the problems. Amazingly Chris the local General manager failed to even follow up or come in person to check the work that was performed after all the problems.
The company touts affiliations of reputable business agencies and services but in no way shape or form shares the levels of commitment and service. My hope in taking the time to share my experience is to prevent others becoming victims of Empire Today. I would sooner walk on a dirt floor before using Empire Today for any flooring needs.

Empire Today offered to move all our stuff so we had them install carpet in our living room and dining room. I like that the carpet is new and plush. Also, it's supposed to be pet-friendly. Its cost and quality were good and I was happy with it. However, they broke a couple of things in some of the ways they installed when they were in here. But they're taking care of it and other than that, it was a nice job. So, if a friend is thinking about using them and asks me about them, I would tell them to go ahead.

I've been living in my home for 11 years now and the last carpet I put in was 11 years ago. My son got a business going and he always gets Empire Today, so I told him to call them up. Empire Today installed a new carpet that was grayish in color in my master bedroom, which is the only room I wanted right there because I didn't want anything else done. My wife decided on the carpet, and it is nice and I like it. Empire Today was very professional and if I have to come back again then I would call them again.

I had carpeting in my den installed by Empire Today. I liked the color, and the installation went good. However, I have a big entertainment unit in my den, with my TV in the center, with the cable box. That was taken loose and I can't get the lights on it to come on to nothing in the world. It happened while they were installing because they had to send in units up in the air in order to get underneath them. I have told about this to Odell, the gentleman who sold me the carpet, about it as well. Nevertheless, Empire Today was polite.

VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED - we agreed to save money to do demo our self. Took 4 days off work did all the demo. Lost the use of appliances and then on the day of installation of kitchen and hallway flooring - took dog to daycare at our expense - only to receive a call after 9 am. Installer called off - cant do it. We said, "Unacceptable. I cannot just take days off of work whenever", the supervisor said she will try and find someone else and call back but a guy called and said they don't even have the product. Offered $50 discount - big deal. It cost $150 for dog to go to daycare. THE GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE RESPONSE, "That is all I can do - you can take it or we can cancel the order." WOW. I will never recommend your company to anyone... and this is also going to put on every social media site I can to let every know. Your company offers next day installation - I wonder how you handle that when you have an installer call off???

They took the carpet up, put the flooring down and trimmed it out. The sales rep was courteous and was helpful with the experience. He told us everything we needed to know, and he gave us the best price he could give us. I recommend highly Empire.

I watched what Empire Today advertised, and I knew I couldn’t get it down here from local as soon as I wanted. So, I went with Empire based on the timing. First, I had carpeting and then, later on, I had the wood floor put in. Two days later, I had the bathrooms tiled. The flooring met my expectations. I wanted tile rather than linoleum, which I had in the bathrooms, and one had gotten something on it that wouldn’t come up and it was frustrating. The other one had been damaged, so I wanted it replaced. But the only problem was the one that they replaced, the john leaked after it was put in. Also, there were a million things that happened. I just got the phones back today and it has been almost a month since they put in the floors.
Three weeks ago, Empire had an inspector come out and he looked at it. He said that the john was leaking just a little, but it was leaking under the tile. So, they've got to come back and remove the tile and put down new tile. That will be next Monday, but it's been a month. And part of it was just they didn’t take care of it the first week afterward. But then, my phone was out for almost two weeks. The carpeting is wonderful and the people that put it in did a very nice job. They just didn’t clean it up. But on the other hand, they moved everything out of my bedroom before they put the carpeting in, and the same for the other bedroom and the stairwells, which was good. So, we are really enjoying the carpet and the wood flooring that they put in. I have real wood throughout the rest of my house, but it is laminate and so far, it has been really nice.
But I'm changing the bathroom tile. My son sleeps in the other bedroom and that's the bathroom he uses, so when it took so long he's gone back to using his own rather than having to tromp through my bedroom and then to my bath. It's been very inconvenient. I walk into his bathroom to get towels and the floors are wet. It has been long enough that they had seeped through the top too and getting some fungus on the walls. So, I'm hoping that Empire can do it completely right this time because my bathroom is good.
Empire told me I have upgraded from what they put in first in the front bathroom. I wish it happened to mine because I would have changed it. They said it was going to cost me $420 because I was getting a different tile and it was a more expensive tile. I felt like it had been months since it was done and it's still leaking. I felt like there should be compensation there. But the rest of it, I would gladly tell people that Empire Today is good. They came in and they were done in a day.
Thank you for making us aware of your experience. We'll be further reviewing your concerns.

My favorite thing about it is its color. Our experience is great and I’ve told several people about them. I said, “Sent in your home. The guy comes with the carpet.” And, “When you pick it out, better bring home now.” I also said, “Not to run around the state looking for carpets.”

Empire Today is easy to deal with and does a great job. I’m very pleased with them. A friend who had used them referred them to me and they did my basement a few months after a storm. Then we had them back to do the carpet upstairs. We got to upgrade a padding and I love the carpet and the padding. My sales rep John was great and he was also the first guy who came before. We called him to come back and measure for upstairs. And then the installers that we had out the second time were also great and very efficient. We had a vinyl floor installed in the basement. I have to say they came to our house the day we called which I liked. Mistake number one. I didn't ask for a detail pro format of what the price included. The salesman gave us a price and we agree to finance. Never again. Please make sure you ask for what you are paying for and sleep on it. Because we may had find a better deal somewhere else. The floor is sooo bad. I cannot express how bad it is. It looks like something I would have done. I wish I would have done it actually because it would have cost less. The floor has pockets of air everywhere. When it was being installed we mentioned it and the man showed me what I can do. Really?? It is like I paid to have something done professionally but I am going to do the work? Then he said the glue will settled it will look better. When he said that I was so frustrated already words couldn't come out. I just left and let my husband dealing with it.
I think that Empire Today rush to do job to keep their word on quick installation without taking into consideration of what really needs to be done, what will work for the area. I wished I have gone to Home Depot or Lowe's. I am going to pay a lot of money for a floor that I hate because of a really bad bad installation. I don't usually write reviews. But this is keeping me awake and I wish I could go back in time and never contacted Empire Today. Please do your homework. They are no expert on flooring. I am embarrassed with the flooring in the basement. I feel like a fool. Paid for something that I pretty sure I could have done better.

I'm very unhappy with the service of this company. The sales guy sold us great flooring. We loved the price and the time frame in which the work will be completed. So we scheduled the next Saturday to get our floors done. They were a no show. Ok, so we gave them the benefit of the doubt and scheduled for the following Saturday. They come out. Get started. At the end of the day, only our hallway was completed. The guys told us that they didn't have an order for the stairs. We called the company and they informed us that it was in the order. They left and we scheduled another day so they can come out and get the work completed. So the same guys come back out, walk in our house and say, “Oh we can’t do the stairs today, you need to take your railings off yourself.” I was frustrated because you could have let us know that before you came back out.
Whatever, we schedule another day, the only availability they had was a Friday. My wife took off work. Friday came, by 12 my wife called and asked if they were coming, the general manager tells her that they called and said they were at the job at 9. The worker called her and said, “We can’t come today because he can’t find anyone to work so they will come tomorrow.” We explained that it couldn't get done because we had previous plans. So he comes out with an attitude and get to work. He tells us that we should’ve called his boss. After 4 hours he leaves with the work half completed. By this time it’s 3 weeks. So the next time they send someone out is different workers, he walks in and said, “Whoever did the steps did them wrong and used the wrong material.” We had to wait for the correct materials to come in so that took another week.
He comes out yesterday, tears up the old steps, leaves for an hour, come back, spends 3 hours putting down 2 steps. Then he say he will be back in a hour because the saw broke. I'm livid at this point. By the way a lady shows up at my house, I didn't know who she was and she never introduced herself. I called the general manager again to tell him what's going on. The worker comes back within 15mins. They did seven steps yesterday from 9:30am-10:30pm last night. They still have 7 more to go. I'm just so unhappy with the workers and the general manager. The general manager act as if I'm the problem but I would not have to call you if everything was going the way it should. He said he would take 200 dollars off the work but it's not even about the money. I just want the work done.
It just seem like no one in the New Orleans area want to work at this company. Or if they're here they have their friends over while they are working. It just make me feel very uncomfortable about the company that they would allow this type of behavior. It's been a month now and the work is still not completed. I wanted them to do my other rooms done but not anymore. I will NEVER recommend this company to anyone.
This is not the experience that we wish for our customers. We'll be following up with you shortly to discuss your concerns.

Empire Today worked on our dining room, living room, and hallway about three weeks ago and we’re satisfied with what they've done. Their rep did fine and explained everything. We had a choice and it was somewhere close, but they couldn't match up the color that we had. We ended up doing more than just the hallway. The installers did fine but we spent two months just trying to get them up here.
We started out on January 19th and I kept trying to get Texas to arrange somebody to stop in here. We'd call and she wasn't there or she'd call us back and we'd be out. We found out the person who came was from way down in Flint and came in here. He checked it out and saw what our problem was. He tried to correct the hallway but he couldn’t do it. He said that he'll see if they can come up with a matched carpet to replace that hallway and that as soon as he gets back to his office, he'll arrange for them to contact us about having somebody come here and do it. It took another month or so before we had finally gotten somebody to come up here. They brought the carpet with them, we talked it over and they went ahead and took out the old and put in the new within a couple hours. They were here and gone and they did an excellent job.

I had Empire Today put down a vinyl floor in my kitchen, dining room and foyer. And I had carpet put down in my living room. I like the way they look because what I had down was 30 years old and they were really worn. I had carpet in my dining room, and I had them to take the carpet out and put the vinyl down which is a lot easier for my dining room. If you're patient enough to let the workers do it and it gets done, then it’s worth it by seeing how it looks. It's a lot of work to move your thing out of the way so they could do it.

We signed a digital contract for Empire Today to install new carpet on 4-13-18. We received a system generated email regarding our scheduled install date of 4-25-18. It stated the install would take place between 8am-6pm. My husband and I did everything noted in the email by removing all small breakable items and really most heavy furniture. It was in our contract the install team would move the heaviest items. On the "date of install", 4-25-18, I began to call the company letting them know that I have not received a call from the installer and that it was getting progressively late in the day. I had to call numerous times to get any information, even then, they refused to tell me what was going on and when to expect the installers to arrive.
At 1:10pm 3 guys showed up at my home. The lead installer "Chino" told me that he was just to unload our carpet and he would be back at 4pm. I reminded him that I was told our install would be a FULL day and that it being so late, that would be impossible. I had emptied my 3 children’s rooms and disassembled their beds. I had moved everything in preparation for them to finish carpet install. After arguing with "Chino" that I had no place to put my kids to bed this night, he agreed to stay and complete their 3 rooms. As I normally would, I walked through as they performed the work. I noticed they had installed the basic carpet padding throughout the room when I had paid for the "upgraded" waterproof padding. I also saw they were leaving the 13 year old padding in the closets.
"Chino" tried to tell me the waterproof membrane is "visible" on some padding and "invisible" on other! I insisted he pull it up and replace with what we had paid for. I also told him that leaving the old pad is NOT acceptable! At that point he told me that he was not given enough waterproof padding from the Empire warehouse to even finish the 3 bedrooms. He cut and laid some carpet in 2 rooms. Tack strips and padding were still exposed in my 5 year old's bedroom entrance. He did not mend the seams or complete the closets or doorways. He promised my husband and myself that he would personally call me before 8am and be at my house working by 8am to finish the job the next day! We had to agree as we had our whole house turned upside down.
Next day, 4-26-18, 8am came and went without any word from "Chino". I began calling Empire and spoke with numerous different customer service reps. Finally I just wanted this entire nightmare to end. I was given a number to "Anthony" who would have the ability to cancel the contract/ job altogether. After speaking to him at length, he said that he couldn't cancel the contract/ install since work had begun. That would come from "George" the install manager. During our conversation I had to take my daughter to school. He asked if there was any way I would let them complete the work if the guys came and finished up that day (4-26-18). He placed me on hold to call the "install manager".
Within 10 minutes "Chino" was calling me saying he was at my house. I told him I was 10 minutes away and to please wait. He said he would. I switched the call back to Anthony and told him that "Chino" was at my house and he would wait for me there! Anthony said he relayed that to the "install manager". When I arrived back home, "Chino" was gone. I reviewed my security footage and after he hung up with me, he walked to his car, got on the phone again, loaded his tools back in the car and drove off. I pulled in my driveway minutes after he left. I called Anthony back immediately and told him what happened. I was really hoping this company would make things right after all of the things they had put my family through. They did not. I was told that "Monica" would call me...I got a call from a "Diana".
She seemed like she would be helpful at first. I told her since we were on day 2 and our carpet was still laying in my garage, we just wanted to cancel. She said, “But what if I get them back to you by 1pm and they finish today.” I just was not hopeful as we have been lied to so much by these people. At 1pm, nobody came to my house, I called Diana. She said, “I thought you wanted to cancel...if they get there in 30 minutes can they finish?” I said, “Yes but I need them to finish today.” She said, “They would!” I rushed to my daughter's school, picked her up and rushed home. The installers showed up at 1:50pm. They didn't speak to me at all.
I had to ask what happened to him not calling or showing at 8am? He said since he has a newborn baby at home, he has to take his oldest daughter to school, then go back and take care of his 2.5 year old and 1 month old baby. He said he can't get out of the house much before 9am anyway. At this point, I have zero faith in these installers, so I am periodically walking through checking on the progress. I noticed they were talking about a problem so I went into the 3rd bedroom and noticed he shortcut my son's room by 1 inch. He wanted to do a 1 inch seam on the tack strip. My husband and I said, “Absolutely not, you must recut this room and do it right.” He said "I am not recutting this piece and getting backcharged". “I will leave before I do that.”
He got his tools and told his guys to load up the truck and began yelling at me in my driveway in front of my neighbors. I got Diana on the phone and let her listen to his yelling. I told her this was Empire's last chance and this installer just blew it. My husband got the sales rep on the phone, he was no help. He lied to cover himself, just like everyone else within this company. At this point, we wanted Empire to pick up their materials and part ways amicably. We cannot get anyone from this company to return phone calls or address this issue. Everyone blames another, then when pressed, they are blaming us, the customer.
My husband talked with Meygan today, 4-27-18 and was told the contract will be cancelled and a full refund will be issued. She told him that she would send an email stating that... we have not received anything from her. Not surprising! I have filed a complaint with the BBB-Chicago and the TX Attorney General’s office. I will continue to post reviews stating the facts of the dealings with your company and will not stop until we receive this cancellation confirmation from your company and you pick up all materials from our home!
We know delays can be frustrating, and we'll be looking into this matter right away.

We bought carpet for our bedrooms a few weeks ago and have had an awful experience with Empire Today. First it was hard to tell the colors from the tiny samples, but the salesman (who was really nice) advised us that the color of carpet gets lighter when installed and that the one we were looking at would be good for us having kids and dogs. We almost went with a darker carpet hearing it would be lighter, but ended up sticking with the shade lighter, I'm so glad we did because the carpet looks so much darker in our room and I wish we would have gone even lighter. The carpet doesn't match anything! So now we have to re-paint our walls, and I guess just deal with it not matching our bedroom set or wood floors. The carpet isn't good for pets and kids like we were told because it's so thick we can hardly get a vacuum through it, making it very hard to clean.
Then comes the actual installation. The installers didn't show up in the two-hour time frame we were given. When I called to ask where they were I found out they were at another job and was given another two-hour time frame. It was a waste of my time. We paid extra for a special padding with a barrier pad for spills etc. Each room has a strip where that barrier pad isn't on because they used the end of the roll. One of those spots happened to be right next to my daughter's bed where it was important for it to be in cases when she gets sick. When they left they left a mess. I had this tar-like dirt on my doors, trim and sheets! (Which I'm thankful we left on our mattress since it's a brand new mattress).
After they left we looked through at the job they did, and found our bedroom dressers had been scratched and chipped by the installers. I called to complain and was told I would receive a phone call back in three business days. I didn't get one until 5 business days later when I happened to be out. I called them back and haven't heard from them since. This is our first house and our first time buying carpet. We went with someone we thought would be better than your average store, and I'm completely disappointed we did. At least going to a store like Menards I would have gotten the carpet I wanted and they would have returned it and made it right if it wasn't. Very unhappy although.
We regret to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations, and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. We'll be in touch with you shortly to further discuss your concerns.

Salesperson was helpful, installers were not. No surprise there. They barely spoke English. They barely cleaned up the fibers dropped throughout the house. They had to borrow my tape measure. Banged the crap out of my walls, not only with dragging in the carpet but by taking down bedroom doors and gouging my newly textured walls. Had to spackle and repaint. Also in removing two bedroom doors and three closet bi fold doors, they just placed them in no particular order without marking them. When I had to reinstall it was a blast. They also neglected to offer to trim the doors down, I asked and certainly would have paid extra but they declined to do so. Overall, salesperson was okay and actual carpet installation was okay but the other issues left me less than floored...

Empire Today offers a quality product at a reasonable price and they are fairly good at their customer service. I also like the fact that one of their representatives could come to the house to show me their product and that’s a little more convenient for me. I had wood floors installed in the dining room and then carpet for the rest of the upstairs. There were a few issues with scheduling but that’s the only thing that got a little bit tricky. The carpet is a nice quality and it seems to be holding up well.
About a year and a half ago, I had purchased a special carpeting from Empire Today for a little bit of extra money which is supposed to be pet resistant because I have three cats. It was supposed to be very stain resistant, particularly for the urine but it wasn’t. I tried to clean up the carpet but the carpet stains would not come out. Empire came out and they reviewed it and then they sent a third-party non-biased carpet guy. He determined that the carpet was defective and they actually replaced all my carpeting upstairs, which was very good customer service. I was very happy with them.

It's been a couple of months now since we purchased PERGO flooring from Empire Today and had it installed. Empire had a sale going on then, which is why we chose them. They got good marketing with a jingle too. We've had PERGO for years and years. And so, we just got our flooring redone and it's good to get the upgrade of the PERGO that's a little more waterproof. With the older kind of PERGO, if any water gets on it and it stays and we don't see it, it will buckle on us. So this is the new step. The product we got is like a plastic flooring that looks like wood and it's gorgeous. We like the wood grain look to it. We didn't want to put wood down for obvious reasons plus we also have pets. So this one feels a lot better if the pets have any accidents. I can just quickly wipe it off and then it's over with. It doesn't take a lot of cleaning and I don't have to worry about waxing it.
We have the new flooring in the family room through the office and the installation was unbelievably perfect. Everything was measured well and then the manager came out and took a look. She rechecked the measurements and then called to follow up. And the workers were exquisite. In fact, I called Kim, the manager, to tell her what a fabulous, unbelievable job it was. And we're gonna save up a couple more bucks and get the bedroom done too through Empire. My neighbors have seen my new flooring as well and I've recommended Empire to them. Empire is a very good outfit and whenever we got any question, they answer them. They call back to follow up and make sure everything meets our expectations.

We had Empire Today install butterscotch hardwood flooring for us. We liked the price and the way it looks so we picked it out. We liked it so much that we did it in the living room, dining room, kitchen and powder room as well. There were two people that came out and they were very good, clean and professional. They pulled up the carpet and the padding, swept, and they were very precise. They got here about 11:00 o’clock, but they still got the job done in one day.

She was very nice. We then had Chris for the installation and he was also very nice and did a good job. He left everything clean and I was very satisfied. Having the new flooring, I really like the look of cleanliness without the carpet anymore. It makes the room look bigger too. Empire needs to have a serious board meeting and address some serious issues. First let's begin with the salesman. A typical salesman friendly, smiling and playing at the same time. I had to call the salesman more than 5x to get him to correct the bill that was sent electronically to my email. He had the wrong deposit down. Frank promised same day installation - IT DID NOT HAPPEN! Installation took from 10:30 a.m one day till 11:30 p.m one day, and the next day 12noon until about 3 p.m. Promised furniture will be put back in place. I had to put most of the furniture in place. I asked Frank over and over for an itemized bill and he tells me he cannot give me one. It's a 50/50/50 and everything is included, and can't break out installation/flooring/padding that goes underneath.
So, the guys arrive day of the 3 room installation of 2 rooms of lament flooring (living room/dining area) and vinyl for kitchen. There were 2 men when there should have been 3 or 4. One is a professional and the other CLEARLY in training. Very nice men but neither one of them could hold a conversation in ENGLISH so that begins the problem. It begins with one guy telling me the old tiles in the kitchen had to ripped up. I had no problem with that but he said it was an additional PRICE. As if it wasn't expensive enough.
I argued back and forth. I called the salesman who said, "OH!!! I forgot..." yeah it is more. But, I did included the wood that has to go down first before they put down the new vinyl. So, after going back and forth I agreed. I tried to give the two men room to work checking on them from time to time along with my friend Al. Time was ticking away almost 2:30 p.m and I seen the one in training was not really moving too quickly and they were still in the first room. I said, "You are going to be finish today? You will have time to rip up the kitchen and do the flooring in the dining area???" The professional seemed as if it hit him and started moving quickly.
WELL, these guys did work hard but they were exhausted, tearing up old carpet, and removing the old molding, padding and cutting and putting in laminate flooring. These guys took multiple 5 minutes break NO LUNCH!!! I was so concerned they were depleted!!! I decided to check on the guys again, I did not want to helicopter over them and LO AND BEHOLD THE PROFESSIONAL WAS PUTTING THE WOOD ON TOP OF THE UNRIPPED UP OLD TILE THAT I PAID AN ADDITIONAL $230-260.00 TO BE REMOVED!!! I stood there and said, "Excuse me. Why are you not ripping up the old tile???" He looked at me like I am busted... But of course lied saying, "Oh no I am covering it with wood." I said, "Then what did the installation manager tell me I had to pay additional money for???" The professional says, "Oh no that for the wood. You don't have to rip up the floor." what!!!
I began snapping pictures with my phone and videoing and decided to give someone in charge of this rip off business a call. I spoke to three people with complaint and they gave me a reference number for my complaint. At 8:30 pm the guys so famished I gave them Snapple and water... they finally break down and order Chinese food.
After they took 15 minutes to dog down food they ran back in to do a little more work. These guys worked until about 11 p.m. Then the professional said, "I'm sorry Ms. Can I please come back tomorrow." Kitchen not done, molding in two rooms not done. I went to turn on stove after they left. STOVE DISCONNECTED!!! My house is a mess, materials in the floor, tools left behind... Garbage in my yard and on the side of my home. IT'S A NIGHTMARE... They will be back today... part 2. STAY TUNED, I HAVE LOTS OF PICTURES!!!

Horrible experience. After WE moved heavy furniture to make it easier for the installers, they didn't show. Called early morning and told we were not scheduled. From there... mistake after mistake. Multiple orders. Some stairs make horrible creaking noises that they never did before. The laminate flooring has a crack on the stairs. The laminate pieces in the hallway have a huge gap between them. The vinyl in the bedroom has huge bubbles. The vinyl in the bathroom is pulling away from the tub. Installer put a hole in our wall during installation. One installer was so horrible that they yelled out their helper and had the helper stay in the truck for most of the install. Very unprofessional. We did not want him back for numerous reasons and told Empire that, yet they sent the same guy not once, but TWICE, causing us to have to reschedule their appointment to FIX their MISTAKES.
Now today - 4/24/18, they send an installer who can barely speak English who was condescending and rude. He said "no fix". He didn't have the laminate with him. He wouldn't fix the vinyl caulking or bubbles. I was home alone on crutches with this strange man and felt VERY uncomfortable. I asked him to leave and he stayed on the front porch and wouldn't leave. I had to tell him I was calling the police to have him FINALLY leave. I tried to reach a supervisor, but still no callback. Giving one star is very generous. First off the carpet was install and my linoleum. The carpet started lifting the first day at the seams, the linoleum is cracked where the carpet meets the linoleum, I finally get someone out here after sending photos and having the manager come out and see for himself. 4 times they scheduled someone to fix the problem, 2 of those time I took off work to meet someone to fix the issues, and NO ONE SHOWED UP all 4 times, not even a courtesy call.
Finally someone comes out and the guy spreads some caulking on it and say "It all good". The carpet is lifting in corners, the crack in my linoleum is so big now, I've called many many times and no one has and come out to fix it. Now I feel I'll have to call another carpet company to come out and properly fix my carpet issues. I would NOT recommend any work from this company. Our intentions were to have them do our entire house, not a chance now. We will be file complaints with the BBB and everyone we need to. Then they call and want to do more work for us, but have yet to address these issues. When we do call back, I get tossed around and no one seems to know what anyone else is doing. It's been a very very unpleasant experience to say the least.

I looked at a lot of different places, but Empire Today got stuff going on and guaranteed certain things which was why I went with them. I had a wood floor installed in an office, a full carpet throughout the house which is in the living room, dining room, hall, and had a vinyl entry, an oak floor put in. My favorite of the flooring is the Berber carpet which you can’t go wrong along with an 8 lb. pad which will last a long time. Also, the wood floor that was put in the office and the 50-year warranty that will last us as long as we are in the house. The vinyl entry way too, because of its durability as far as getting wet. The new flooring has met my expectations. The installers and the salesperson were great.
But other than that, I was not happy at all with Empire because the day that it was supposed to get installed, the guy who was supposed to install the floor called me at 8:30 in the morning and told me he would be there between 9:00 and 10:00. We waited till about 10:30 and nobody showed up. We ended calling back Empire and I talked to quite a few different people and they couldn't help me out. I took the two days off to make sure that the floors could get laid. So, they found somebody to be able to lay my carpet on that Friday, and thankfully I took the second day off. But I wasn't happy at all because the people at the main headquarters acted like they didn't care.
I wasted one whole day and they came out the next morning. Every time, somebody would tell me that they would call me before they show up but I never got a call before somebody showed up at my door. I got a call after the fact. The last issue that I had was when they showed up to install my carpet. I had to pay before they install it. They showed me the bill and it was different than what was originally quoted to me by $250. I showed the installer the original and he goes, "Yeah. But this is what Empire wants." So, I went ahead and paid it, and last year I got a letter from Empire Today stating I had to pay $250 for materials. I'm not happy with that side of it at all.
I found out that the reason why the first installation got cancelled was because the carpet guy who was supposed to do it showed up to the warehouse, picked our carpet up, and left the warehouse. He checked to see if he had gotten paid by Empire but he found out he wasn’t so he turned around, went back to the warehouse, dropped everything off, and left. I got that information from headquarters in Texas and right at the warehouse. If I was in that guy's position where Empire didn’t pay me, I would have done the same thing. I understand where I'm coming from because I'm in the service industry too as I'm a high voltage electrician and I give service to people that they expect to get because they pay for it all the time. So, if I'm not getting paid, I'm not gonna do my job until I get paid. I understand his point, but why didn’t Empire pay him when they were supposed to?
When I was trying to get information and to find out whether or not my carpet was gonna get installed even though the installer walked away because he had a good reason, why didn’t Empire come up with something else in order to install my carpet considering and looking at the whole thing, it was Empire's fault from the beginning. If Empire only got few installers here, they don't wanna pee off their installers because they're sub-contractors but they're the ones who are making money for them.

Empire sent a rep who was grossly unknowledgeable about flooring. By his admission he had only been "selling floors" for three months. I had to explain to him why I didn't need underlayment, why it was important to remove and return the baseboards and why I would not just accept his continued verbal assurance of all inclusive would cover everything. When I pressed what exactly all inclusive covered he could only tell me "well you know, everything". When I asked about the baseboards he assured me it was included and after I insisted he verify with his manager, he had to admit it was extra. So I guess "all inclusive" does not cover "everything".
I requested a written quote so I could see what was and was not included and was informed Empire does not provided a written estimate until the deposit was submitted "but you have a window to cancel if you don't see everything you want". What? So I am going to give you a deposit just to see what you will be doing and then if you miss something I can cancel the contract and then wait for you to decided to send my deposit back at your leisure?! The final straw was when while on the phone with his manager he gave me the price, after assuring me he had given me a huge discount because I had been so patient in educating him on flooring, only to hear the "manager" on the other end of the line say and I quote "yea baby!". I would not recommend this business under any circumstances. Do yourself a favor, research local companies and hire one with good reviews, a proven track record and a local office.

As my house is torn apart so we could make it easy for the installers this is not what we wanted to hear. So they reschedule for the next 3 days. Also, the cost was about $1,000 cheaper and the other place we looked at didn't do the floorboards. We would have to do those ourselves, whereas with Empire, part of the installation was the floorboard. The product, service, and cost were the three major deciding factors. We had a laminate floor installed in the kitchen, living room, hallway, and then the two bedrooms. And it's great. We love it.
One of the rooms needed floor in there and my husband was gonna take care of that and do the floorboard himself. But after Empire did everything else, it looked so good that we decided to have them come back and put floorboards. It was pretty seamless to have them come back out. I met with their rep, Jack, who was very personable. He measured my rooms and gave a verbal estimate for the job. Not surprising, the hardwood style that I selected did not qualify for the half-price sale. I asked which styles did qualify. He was not able to say at the time. As the job was twice as expensive as expected, and not 50% off, I told him I would need to wait at least 6 months or so to be able to afford the work. I asked for a copy of the estimate. He said he would email it to me.
I also asked for a business card, but he didn't have any on him, and left me with no way to contact him directly, and no paperwork at all. The estimate never came. I did receive a follow up call from the corporate office enticing me to commit to the flooring. I told them that the 50% off sale was the reason I called, and that the job was more than I could afford now. I mentioned that I never received my estimate, and asked which hardwood styles qualified for the sale. I was told that they (the corporate office) couldn't answer that, but that the in-home rep could.
They said they would contact Jack and also have him email the estimate. The estimate never came. I have followed up several times by email, and spoke with their office at least twice by phone and one live chat. Whether it was in person, over the phone, in chat, or through multiple emails, each time I inquired as to what styles the advertised 50% off sale applied to, the question was dodged. Empire never sent the estimate. Very unprofessional. Beware, Empire Today's commercials are a dishonest, bait-and-switch, designed to get a salesman in your house. Disappointing. I'll be going with Home Depot for my flooring.
We strive to leave a positive impression during our in-home consultations, and we regret to hear that this was not the case. We'll be further investigating your concerns, and we'll be in touch with you soon.

We had our kitchen flooring installed by Empire Today. Their technicians were really nice and they came on time. It was a father and son and they were efficient and they did a really good job. They put the linoleum down on the flow and it looks like tile. It's really pretty. While I thought it was a little pricy and that with the 50% off, it was still expensive, it's still really nice kitchen flooring.

Call back for confirmation number. They say I do owe the $300 again. Why would I use Empire if I had a cheaper price!!?! Why would I agree to pay more at the door??!! She had gray vinyl flooring installed by Empire in my kitchen. It was very expensive and it was $1,600. They wanted $40 per piece and I gave them that amount, but I don’t know why the price was so high. The flooring was way overpriced and it should have been $800. But it's nice and clean, and it makes the kitchen much prettier.

No phone calls for couple of days, contacted rep and was told to call 1-800 # but certainly should have been contacted by now. The 1-800# said they needed to call the local office and someone would contact me, would not provide a contact #. After 24 hours no phone call, called 1-800 # same response, called rep and they arranged for final measurements. The representative taking the measurements had no knowledge of order status, have to call 1-800#. After calling the 1-800# numerous times and getting the same response "24 hour call back" which never happened any time, followed up with the rep and no one could provide date order would be delivered.
At 3 week now, being fed up, I asked to cancel the order and be refunded my deposit, they said couldn't return my deposit after 3 days but the rep promised would rush the order at this point, will have it shipped next week. Next week came around no order or update, after numerous phone calls to 1-800# and rep, no one could provide a status or delivery date. Almost a month later now, no blinds, or date for blinds, numerous phone calls and promises though. Finally had to argue with rep and supervisors on the phone to get my deposit refunded (3 to 5 days later), after being screwed around for a month. Ironic they can process a transaction right away when placing the order. Do yourself a favor to save the frustration avoid EMPIRE at all costs.

I am extremely dissatisfied with the quality of the installation of my flooring. The flooring itself appears to be ok however the trim looks like an amateur did it. And it took 2 additional trip to complete the installation. They started it without having all of the materials which is unprofessional. I was told halfway through they didn’t have enough trim to complete and they didn’t know when they would have it back in. Then I had to call to find out when they would be able to do it. Always talking to a different person each time. Then different people came to install it when the material was back in stock two weeks later even though I was told by several people they only are out of stock on any item 1-2 days.
They didn’t complete the installation as they seem to have forgotten them all of the kitchen. I had to call customer service 3 more times to find out when they were going to come back and finish. I was asked if I wanted them to come out in the morning or evening this time. However they wouldn’t be able to tell me, again, what time until the day of. I said late in the day as possible. I got the call in the morning that they would be out 8am-10am. Which is clearly not in the late day. They came to finish and I can say it is finally as complete as I can expect.
This is not the experience that we wish for our customers, and we'll be in touch with you shortly to learn more.

We hired Empire Today to install carpet in our living room and two little sections of tile. The tile work was OK for what it was however the carpet is terrible!! Our experience started out very unprofessionally when the salesman had to take a phone call to stop his car from being repossessed. That should’ve been our first red flag! We have pets, which we told him from the start, So we wanted a darker carpet. He found us a gray told us it was the darkest they had but it was Stainmaster so we’d have no problem. I have had to clean the carpet multiple times stains keep coming up. I have thousands of pulls in the carpet and they did not install the metal carpet strip between the carpet and the tile for a static reasons. Sounded like a good idea except now the carpet pulls up from where the tile is.
I’ve called to complain several times. They got back to me once I called again they told me to send an email with pictures Which I did and I never got a response. They told me they couldn’t do anything about the spots because I did not have a professional cleaner come in. If it is saying master why am I having such a problem with stains?? We spent almost $3000. 3 years ago and we’re going to have to rip it up within the next year and put something else down. Very dissatisfied and I would not recommend them to anyone ever but I wanted to keep as my friend.

We finally got ahold of someone willing to help us and rescheduled. Here it is today and they have a window from 8-12... they called at 10 to say they won't be there until 1-2. Well here it is 45 minutes past that and finally get a call saying they are on their way. Even if they fix the issue this company has major issues that need to be addressed. They end up telling us we need to remove the old carpet ourselves for them to be able to install the new carpet. We have everything rescheduled, get up at 5am the day of install to pull out all the carpet, disassemble furniture, etc.
They sent one guy. One. He looks at the size of the job and tells me he can’t do the job by himself so he “steps outside to call his manager” and leaves. The customer service is terrible. Our house is now a construction zone (because THEY made us rip out all of our carpet) and we have an 11 week old baby. So my initial approach was to go with them and didn’t consider anyone this time. I made an order for tile in my kitchen and then I ordered some blinds for the living room. I like that the material matches with the rest of my kitchen area. It makes it look nice, new and fresh. The ceramic tile was a higher-grade material. If it chips, it’s the same color underneath so I like it. But I’m not happy with the grout. There are areas of my floor that have gaps and when you look at it, there’s a hole. The installation ran long so I’m wondering if that could have been part of it since it was at the end of the project. That’s the last piece as far as letting it dry out. So, I ended up paying $8,600 into Wells Fargo and another $1,100 which I got to pay cash. So, it was $9,600 altogether. Other than that, they did a beautiful job and I was satisfied with it. The flooring was made of good material and it's under a lifetime warranty. It's also water-proof and I appreciated their guys who told me that and advised me to get it.

My husband and I decided on a few home renovations in order to move my father in with us after the death of my mother on Feb 5th. We used Empire twice I think about ten years ago and were pleased. We called to have a rep out to our home to discuss new carpet for what will be my Dad's room and asked to see about vinyl for our kitchen and laundry room which we decided to go ahead with and placed an order for carpet and vinyl flooring on March 22nd. The carpet order went through without a hitch. Empire called to schedule installation within a few days; we have a date scheduled and look forward to the results. So on to the vinyl, for the next week we inquired with our sales rep regarding an installation date for the vinyl. He assured us the date we asked for April 9th would be no problem and the installation folks would be in contact.
We did not hear from anyone so I decided to call customer service and see if I could make progress from that angle. Customer service said they could not see my vinyl order but it was probably just not entered yet and someone would call me back. There was no callback so next morning I, call customer service. Get same answer from customer service. Rinse and repeat for a few days. Finally on March 30th we got a call from the area sales manager who informs us he has to go back to our sales person who will need to find the order so they can get it entered in the system. Today is April 2nd and we are no closer to resolution with exactly one week to promised installation date. I sent a text to our sales rep this morning informing him our order was still not entered into the system. I let him know that I have been chasing the order daily for over a week and waiting for return calls that never come.
I asked him if this was going to work or did we need to come up with a plan B. I stated we need a resolution by the end of the next day. His response was that he was sorry he had made a mistake on the paperwork but it was a small thing and I should call sales support as he corrected all the errors. I called Empire customer service that connected me with Edwin in sales support. Edwin tells me he does not have the order and it is not in the system. Edwin put me on hold while he tried to contact our sales rep. Edwin never came back on the line. I called back and was told someone would be contacting me. I sent a text to our sales rep letting him know we still have no order.
I wrote “This problem happened on your end and yet we are the ones left chasing it down trying to get it corrected. And by the way... If we had not been calling every day trying to get this figured out the install date of April 9th would have come and gone because there is no order.” I asked him if he thought there was any chance we would still be able to get flooring installed on the 9th. I added, "This does not feel like a small problem to me. As of this moment 4:00 pm April 2nd I have not heard back from either our sales rep or sales support." I am so disappointed that I really have no words!

I called for Empire Today to come to my house. I was looking to get our sunroom carpet removed and get laminate. The room is 220 sq ft. The sales person was very nice and talked us into getting the engineered hardwood letting us know it will not scratch unless we dropped something heavy on it. Especially said by no means should our dogs nails every scratch this and it would not be a problem because they have a 50 year warranty on it. Well I got these in November it is now April and they are scratched all over and the company refuses to help me. Before I could even explain anything I was cut off saying pet damage is not covered. They did not ask me any questions nothing just cut me off and cant help me. They need to stand behind their salesmen and products. Now I wasted 1700 on crap flooring that I can do nothing with. They will not assist me and I find that to be repulsive.

Not good right from the start. Empire was recommended by family members, so we decided to go with them. Made the appt for the salesman, who did not show up or call; we called him giving him the benefit of the doubt that maybe there was an accident or family emergency, etc., left a voice mail msg. He called back within 5 minutes and apologized saying Empire had overbooked him. Okay, it happens, although a phone call would have been nice. Made another appointment for the following week. Salesman was very knowledgeable and helpful; we picked out carpeting and paid for it (wish we hadn't paid for all of it then, now looking back as we are now at their mercy).
Carpeting needed to be installed by the end of the month to be under their current promotion. Made arrangements for the end of the same week on Friday (Good Friday). Received a phone call bright and early at 7:45 a.m. that installers would be there in the afternoon. They worked like a well-oiled machine and old carpeting was out, rolled, tied and padding and tack board down within an 1 to 1-1/2 hours tops. Then came the bad news... They only had 1/2 of our carpet order with them saying the warehouse did not cut/give them the correct amount. They laid what carpet they had. They did a GREAT job installing what they did have (we have a couple of curved tiles and hard wood to work around).
They told us that different installers would be back out the next day to finish the rest of the install (Saturday) and that we would receive a call in the morning with a time frame. Not happy as this is Easter weekend and is totally messing up our plans/schedule. Saturday morning gets here, one of us has an appt at 7:30 a.m. and the other needs to go to work, but can't leave until we get a phone or the other gets back home in case they would show up at 8 a.m. (which you would think we would now be a priority). No phone call. Messed up my husband's overtime pay as he had to wait for me to get home before he could leave as they start their installs at 8 a.m. Had we received a phone call, he could have left for work. Ugh!
I called them around 9:30 a.m. explaining the situation, only to find out we were not scheduled to finish the install on Monday (after Easter). Yet, our salesman had already texted me Friday night asking what happened as he seen we were on the install list for Saturday. We were also told that someone would call us back "shortly" - they didn't call until 4:40 p.m., 7 hours later!
This has been such an inconvenience and on a holiday weekend to boot! Our china cabinet is in our kitchen, our fireplace/TV stand (very large) is squished in our bedroom, our dining room table is in our garage, sofas in the living (with no backs on them to make them lighter to move); our whole main living area is completely displaced and it's a holiday weekend! So unacceptable! And here I am right now, writing this review on Monday morning (date of supposed finishing of install) and still no phone call of when they are to arrive - if they do at all. Our salesman is/has been in contact with his general manager about the situation and says we will be compensated... Not holding my breath. So disappointed all the way around with this experience.
I highly doubt we will use them again in the future, which is sad because we need new flooring throughout the whole house. Their snafu and they should have been here bright and early today first thing to finish the install because technically this shouldn't have happened in the first place and it should have been done on Friday. We will see what kind of "compensation" they actually give us... if any. Totally unsatisfied with the experience!!!

Empire Today came highly recommended as a good price and service. We had them install a stain-resistant carpet on the entire top floor. The salespeople that came out were super awesome. They answered their cell phone when we had some questions and were super good. They had somebody come out to install and it was good as well, but there could've been a little more communication on the scope of moving furniture around because it was a bit messy putting a lot of stuff back. If we had an understanding of what they were going to move and not move, we wouldn't have had a lot of piles of stuff that I had to dig out. But I was happy with the experience overall. Whenever the kids spill something, the carpet seems to clean up really fast.

We liked the product that Empire Today had. It was the Acacia wood that we couldn’t find anywhere else. They did two rooms. We had our living room done first. They came in and the little guy did a nice job. They weren’t messy and they didn’t wreck the place. But the last time, the only way they took out the floor was a little crazy. They used a big bar to break up the old flooring instead of prying it up. It’s an old clapboard floor and banging on it like that broke a lot of holes in it and we’re still cleaning up down in the basement from all the stuff that went down through.
When they got here part of the contract was supposed to be that they replace the subfloor. And they got here and they didn’t have anything to do that with ‘cause they had to go and get the plywood for that. Also, they were here until 11:30 at night and then it took them another 40 minutes or so since they were out in the driveway cleaning up from that. It was way too long. It would be nice if they had people in here who spoke the language of the household that they’re working on. When you have somebody doing work in your house you want to be able to communicate with them clearly and without miscommunications.
We could find the Acacia wood somewhere else but it wasn’t the same color. Empire Today might’ve cornered the market on it so we gotta go back to them to continue the floor throughout the house. However, they demanded that I pay up in full before they would even start. And then I called their office and they put another guy on that I could hardly understand and he was telling me if I don’t pay them then they’re just going to leave. I usually like to have somebody do the work and make sure it’s done right and then it looks good and then they get paid. If it was a 50-50 thing half of it upfront and half of it when it’s done but apparently they don’t have that option. They haven’t started because we have to pay up in full. The next time we have flooring done I doubt it will be with Empire Today.
We're disappointed to hear that your installation did not meet your expectations. Your concerns are important to us, and we'll be in touch with you shortly to learn more.
Thank you.

A carpet and a vinyl, hardwood flooring were installed by Empire Today in our basement. We considered getting these flooring products from Pergo, but Empire's products were a little cheaper. It has only been a few weeks that we've had these products and, so far, they've been holding up very well and I like that they're durable.

We got wood flooring from Empire Today and everything was great. It was installed in the section leading to the living room where one comes in the entrance way, and also in the kitchen. It was in a condo in South Pasadena. My favorite feature is the color of the wood grain and it is very nice and rich-looking. During the installation, I couldn’t believe the measurements and how professional were the two guys who put the floor down. While it wasn’t a large area, they took about four and a half hours and they were quick. I was there the whole time while they were installing and they did a great job. They took things away and it was really nice. But one of the molding was messed up. I tried calling the salesman a few times, but he never got back with me at all. Although it took a little while, the guys came back in about five days and they fixed it. So, the whole job is great and it was a good experience.

If you're in the market for some flooring, do it with Empire Today. Empire Today has good service and they get the job done. I had all the carpets on previously and then they did my lanai. The installation was great and we had no problems whatsoever.

Our flooring was installed promptly and professionally. However, the quality of the laminate is sub par and one year later parts of it are peeling. Turns out laminate is much harder to take care than real wood flooring. I recommend choosing a local flooring store and choosing real wood.

We had carpet put in our new house. The installation was good but it didn’t hold up to the salesman’s claims so I complained after seeing their ad claiming, "GIVE US A 10 OR WE WILL FIX IT!" When I did complain the manager tried to make me feel stupid and petty. IT DIDN’T WORK!! He said, “It Sounds to me like you're just unhappy with the carpet!” I said, "Yes, I am. I want hardwood like I ask for in the first place." I told him I will settle for hardwood in the heavy traffic areas, keep the UGLY carpet in the rooms, and pay the extra in cash on the spot.
The floor guys came and did a pretty good job minus cracking my front porch steps with their heavy cutting tools and cracking my bathroom floor tile. We were at the end it was looking good then they couldn’t figure out how to do the finishing molding. It is hideous! I could have done a better job! I gave them a check for $2,000 for my tiny living room, nook, and 6X3 ft hallway and it looks like hell! So tacky I am shocked! They even set the molding over the huge crack they made in my bath tile. I pointed it out beforehand but all of a sudden, they couldn’t speak English! Every time there was a problem they couldn’t speak English.
We sent pics to the salesman right away and he sent them to the manager. The same workers showed up 4 days later to fix the entryway to the kitchen but didn’t have the matching color so they used a piece that shouldn’t go there. Then they started measuring my bathroom floor. I said, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" They said “we might replace floor”. I said, "Call my husband first please." I went to the other room, came back and they were long gone. We haven’t heard a word from anyone since except the salesman that said it is not his department. I am calling the BBB. I don’t need to be treated this way!!!
