Empire Today had an ad on TV where you pay the regular price for one room and get other rooms for $50. But after I had the rep come here to talk to me, he said it was $50 to come out and I gotta pay for everything else. It came about a hundred and something dollars a room. He was upfront with it and he did whatever he said. I had them install a laminate floor on my hallway and kitchen, and a carpet in my master bedroom.
The guy that did the laminate didn’t know enough about the laminate, putting the floor down. He said he needed some more supplies and that he would see me on Monday. That was all right with me, but when he didn’t call or show up, I had to talk to the people at Empire Today for them to get in contact with him to send him back out here. On Friday, the guy got in contact with me and told us that Empire didn’t have the supplies for him. I said that he should've called me. He seemed to be a hard worker and he knew what he’s doing but he needs a little more experience especially in talking to the customer and in laying down the laminate. Nonetheless, the carpet was done great and the guy that did it was great too.

I had bought a carpet from Empire many years ago and was satisfied with them. Then, later on, I had tiles put on the kitchen floor. Although they didn't have a lot of selections, the tile I got was the nicest one that wouldn’t show the dirt as much. The new flooring was very nice. However, the salesman offered me a free gift and I never received. I told Empire's people that their salesman said that he was giving them a free gift for me but they said they didn’t know anything about it. I didn't like that he lied to me and that wasn’t a good feeling that I had. In fact, I was thinking of getting new carpeting but now I'm hesitating.

Carpet installed over ceramic tile that was supposed to be removed prior to installation. Carpet has pulled from tack strip that was not fastened correctly and the carpet is buckling. Empire will come out and re-stretch the carpet for a fee. Spoke with local dealer site in Grand Rapids Michigan, General Manager Ryan. Very Rude, I felt when he was talking to a woman he could be arrogant. No thank you Empire. NEVER AGAIN. PEOPLE THINK TWICE BEFORE USING THIS COMPANY.

Empire Today's ad sounded good so I gave them a call and the sales representative seemed very knowledgeable. They didn’t do the vinyl flooring because they said the house wasn’t level and we couldn’t afford to have it done. But they put in the carpet in the den and in the bedroom right next to the den. And so far, it's been good. It’s very pretty although I like the sculptured carpet better because you can’t see where people had walked. With all of the new carpet, including this one, you can see footprints whenever somebody has walked across it. That's the only thing that I don’t like about any carpet I’ve experienced. That aside, I was real happy with everybody I met and spoke with at Empire Today, from the salesman who came out to the young man who installed it. They were very efficient and they did a very good job. I was real pleased with it.

I had Empire Today install vinyl flooring in the living room, hallway, bathroom and kitchen. I wanted a durable type so I put the plank type in and I'm very happy with how it looks as well. Plus, my rep called me one day before the installation and they took $500 off because they said that it was overstock. One thing that got me though was that the installers were supposed to put some kind of coating down first, and they did in the kitchen, but they didn’t put any coating in the rest of it. And so, I had four and a half bags left and they were gonna take them. But I paid for those so those are mine. So, they left them here. Other than that, they did a good job on it.

I had Empire Today install a rug in my den and hallway. The installers were nice, but I didn't like all the stuff I had to move. They also had to disconnect my TV and I had to pay for it to get reconnected. The carpet is a brownish tweed and I like its texture. Empire Today is a nice company and I would recommend them.

I have been trying to get carpet installed in my house for the last three months from Empire Today, today being the third attempt. Each time they have shown up with the wrong product (exact same roll every time). I have had to miss work and rearrange my work schedule every time without any compensation offered and I will state that I have not asked for anything up until today. When I asked there was little concern and a great amount of excuses. The service manager, Latisha, did not even know the facts of the situation until I made her aware of what has already transpired.
After bring her up to date on the situation, she had started creating excuses from the information that I had just provided her with. My experience with Empire, other than the sales rep, has been completely unprofessional from the initial installation that I had back in March. I would like help resolving and if nothing more making the general public aware of my very unpleasant experience with this company.
Updated on 09/19/2018: Spoke with "customer service manager" today from Empire Today to try and solve problem and she provided a solution that was beyond offensive. The resolution for horrible customer was downright ridiculous. I was offered after 3 repeated deliveries of wrong carpet, today the right one showed up, to have my NEXT carpet installation done at cost. That's right, my next carpet installation. One, I will never use EMPIRE TODAY again!!! Two, my whole house in newly carpeted!?! Won't be carpeting my house for years to come. That was no reasonable resolution, that was a complete joke. EMPIRE TODAY SO DISAPPOINTED!!!

Terrible experience with Empire. The sales rep promised to match Home Depot price and it took countless badgering phone calls and 3 business cycles (3 months) on credit card with incorrect balance to finally be credited the difference. Customer service is atrocious on the scale of Comcast. I was told that I would receive a phone call from a customer specialist every time I ended a call, only the calls never came. I recommend spending the extra money and going with someone local, I wish I would have! Just horrible follow through, don't be deceived.

Thank you or the opportunity to express disappointment with what we thought would be an exciting and satisfying experience with Empire. They put their best foot forward with their wonderful salesman and he made our decision making and choices for carpeting for our entire house very easy. We were looking forward to our installation today, September 18th. Apparently, Empire was unable to fulfill part of our carpet order by the 18th and had called and left a voicemail on my cell phone 5 days prior to day (9/13).
I inadvertently dismissed the call as being a sales or illegitimate all to my cell phone. All that aside, their message when I finally came across it today on my phone, stated they could not obtain special ordered carpet until the 19th and therefore had rescheduled us for this week on the 20th. Apparently they were not concerned with not having heard back from me or my husband to confirm their rescheduled date and when I called today wondering where the installers were they said - "We left you a message on the 13th." Ok, but why did you assume when we didn't respond that we would be here for the installation on the 20th. Wow! First of all, they had 3 different phone numbers we provided to leave any information as well as email. When they did not hear from us - why did they not follow up through our salesman or at least use another number or email us.
Their communication gets a C- at best from me. I will say they tried to resolve our disappointment when we called customer service (never did hear back from our sales rep after two voicemails left for him) The problem was that my husband and I took this week off and scheduled the carpet installation for Mon-Wed 19th as we would be out of town for the latter part of our week off. We do not have any more time off this year and cannot commit to rescheduling at this time. This was explained to customer service and they did return our 10% deposit that we put on our credit card.
Just disappointed and hope we can find someone to help us with carpet installation in the near future or hopefully on the week-ends. Just wasn't meant to be. We did so much work to ready ourselves for the carpet installers to make it easier for them. I guess I can be thankful that I now have a cleaner home and took the opportunity to get rid of things in the process! I hope Empire can donate our carpet ordered to someone in need.
Lynn, we know your time is valuable and we're sorry to hear that your installation did not take place as planned. We understand that your order has been cancelled, and we'll be looking into your concerns, thank you.

On 8/18/18, I ordered and paid for carpeting for 2 bedrooms. I scheduled it to be installed on 9/8. That morning I received a call stating that the installer did not show for work and that I would need to call back to reschedule. I called back within 5 minutes and the guy told me I would be rescheduled for 9/15. I was fine with that because I know things happen. However, on 9/17 I received a call stating that THEY were returning my call to reschedule. I told the guy I was already rescheduled and he informed me that I was not on the list for 9/15 and that the next available Saturday was 10/6. Needless to say, I was not happy. I shortened my vacation, I'm living like a hoarder and I have no place for my daughter to move back home to! I asked for a manager, which was to call me back in 24 hours.
Yeah, right! I called back on Thursday, once again 24 hours. This guy however was "kind" enough to reschedule me for Monday 9/24 AFTER I TOLD HIM I WOULD NOT TAKE A DAY OFF OF WORK FOR THIS BECAUSE IT WASN'T MY FAULT! I chatted online on Monday, yep - 24 hours! Called again today. Managers were not available, only floor supervisor who read from a script! I want reimbursed for my inconvenience and frustration. I guess I'll be waiting another week for a manager! I can't rate the carpet because they are giving me the runaround. If you want prompt service, look elsewhere!

Once they are in your house, they will put all kinds of pressure and sweet talk to sign up contract mentioning you have full refund within 3 days of cancellation. They won't leave you without getting at least 100$ deposit. They will offer all kinds of steep discounts. Nothing will be detail on the offer or quote, no product name, no details of what kind labor, material. Plus measurements are so much vague and rough, very cheap quality product from China.
Once you cancel, it's very hard to get your deposit, money is gone, no one will call you. It's almost more than 1 month, still not refunded deposit. Spoke to 10 different people, almost 20 times call, email, text to sales person, all the time order is cancelled long time back, but they are still processing refund. This company is very very bad. We previously considered Lumber Liquidators to do our flooring and we were already approved for it. We initially had wanted a carpet installed, so their rep came out with the carpet. I told them, however, that the hallway floor, the bathroom floor upstairs and the bedroom floor were squeaking, but they said they didn't repair those. So I told them that there was no sense in putting the carpet down and not repairing the floors, and they left.
We then called Empire Today. We told them about our situation and their rep came out. Then we had them install laminate floors in the living room and in the kitchen of our home. The only thing I didn't like was that when we initially signed the contract to have the floors put in, they didn’t tell us how much it was gonna be per month. The rep didn't tell me until the floor was in. Had I known it was over 100 something dollars, I may have just put it off until the first of the year. Also, they told me that when they put the flooring in, they broke some of the edge of the countertop off. They told me to take pictures of it and they were supposed to be emailing me so I can get estimates, but it has been more than two weeks and I never heard anything back from them.

By going through Empire I was able to save $650 so I had carpet installed in two living rooms by them. The installation was not bad but I was missing some coasters that are put under the furniture that can be slid around so the furniture won’t wreck the carpet. The installers probably took it and did not put it back. Also, I noticed when I was walking through over the counter that the carpet was not tacked down well and another part of my house had a board. I got a glue down too. They were supposed to put their pad over then turn the carpeting over and tack it down along the tile. They did not do it that way and when I’m barefoot and I step on the edge, it hurts my foot. All in all, I am dissatisfied with my experience with Empire Today.

Empire Today has no desire to make their customers satisfied. I bought carpet based on their salesman’s “Professional Experience” and recommendations. I wanted carpet that was similar to what I previously had and the salesman showed me samples and assured me that I would be happy with the product. He gave me the sales pitch that this was the best carpet on the market. As the carpet was being installed, it looked cheap and thin and did not transition with my existing wood floors! I stopped installation, only to be told that was the carpet I bought, and I signed a contract that bound me to that carpet. Empire gets $5000, and I have to live with cheap looking carpet!

After doing some research on flooring companies, we decided to go with Empire. Flooring looked great until a year later now where we have some quarter rounds coming off and nails sticking up from the ridges (a hazard to me). Called them for a week and a half to schedule to get all the many issues besides the ones mentioned fixed and when the day came the techs called as they were on their way - meaning, they could care less if you are home. Well, we were not home so they re-scheduled for 4-6 and no one ever showed up. If you specifically request to come either in the AM or PM - forget it because they can never guarantee anything - this company is not all about the customer when it comes to fixing their mistakes. Anyway, never doing business with Empire again.

I needed carpet for the living room, dining room and hall, and Empire Today had what I was looking for. I also liked the quality of the carpet that they had and the price. I had been to a lot of stores but I immediately found what I needed at Empire Today. I got the very light colored carpet. It's a mixture of brown and cream, and I like its texture. Also, the installers were excellent. They were professional and they cleaned up behind themselves. I had a new paint job though so I had to get the guy to come back and touch up the paint but that was okay. I just had my first gathering at my home and my friends loved the way the carpet felt and the way it looked.

I've been in this house for 38 years and I've been using Empire since I've been here. I have carpet on the living room, dining room, downstairs and two hallways. After a few years, they always get loose and I still go back to them the next time. They used different contractors every time they sent someone here but I like Empire. I said I wasn’t gonna buy carpet anymore and I'm gonna put wood floors down here because I'm really not satisfied with this carpet mess. Still, I got carpet in my bedroom and my son just put carpet in his bedroom upstairs from Empire. A friend of mine was over here, and she was up there with them. We agreed on what I wanted that went with the other carpet that I had and it was installed the next day. It was all very simple and as easy as pie. It was awesome. The installers did an excellent job. However, they didn't put a metal strip at the edge of the carpet that I'm afraid the edges may wear through vacuuming So, I hope it lasts. I have friends who said they were thinking about getting a carpet and I recommended Empire.

Updated on 09/25/2018: So after 5 contacts, Empire finally sent a team to exam the carpet respective to my complaint. It was determined to be a problem with the seams that allowed them to snag and/or separate. I have 3 rooms and a hall with this carpeting. I have not heard back after 7 business days. I liked the way Empire advertised on TV better than the other companies and the saleslady was very nice and helpful. We had vinyl flooring installed in the hallways five months ago and it was good. The installers did a nice job and they cared to make the job as best as possible. However, we had another contract to get the vinyl flooring done and we considered other companies, but we asked Empire to do the job they did before for us and they couldn't do it. When the guys were sent here, they thought the job was gonna be easy. Just put the thing on top of the tiles, but when they came originally for an order, nobody really checked if the floors are level or not. They also haven't thought about things like the doors not being able to open if they do the job.
Our house is very old and the floors are not level. To have this job done properly, they say even if they would have put the floor down, eventually it will come up because of the leveling and they didn't wanna do the job because it wouldn't look professional. They explained mostly in Spanish, but from what I understand, they told us the right thing. This was a big job that will cost extra money because our doors are very heavy and they have to be shaved from the bottom. The tiles that we had before would have to be removed too. I told them that we are not ready to do a big job, they left and that's the problem. The salesman should have at least looked at that before we ordered anything. The company is great, but we weren't happy with our second time with them.

We had a salesman come to the house and he had a book or 2 of samples. We would pick out a vinyl that we liked, then he would say, "We don’t have that one in stock." This went on for three more picks. Then they had one that was in stock. So we told the salesman we had some unforeseen remodeling to do before we could have the flooring laid. He said, that was ok. They would hold the flooring amount that we paid for til we needed it. Well Empire would call from time to time to check on our remodeling. So the last set date for install was for September 12. We said come on. They said the installer would call the night before to schedule the time.
We got a call the night before from another salesman wanting to bring by more samples to look at, because they didn’t have any more flooring in what we had already picked out. They do not keep their word and salesmen don’t tell the truth. That is no way to run an honest business. We used Empire 40 years ago at our first home. We were very happy with their service and product. What happened? The kicker is they wanted a check on the day you purchased which I understand. But they ran that check immediately to see if it would clear.
I was drawing interest on the money in the account, which is one of the largest banks in New York. But after all this hassle with Empire Floors, we cancelled the whole $2126 worth of flooring. Then we have to wait for snail mail to get our check for the refund. They get their money that moment and we get to wait!!! Some bigger than them and us was looking out for us. We found a much better deal and a much much much reasonable price... Just hope when I get Empire's check, that it is GOOD! Then I will probability have to wait several days til the bank will clear it. Laugh! Be forewarned.

I asked someone who had some flooring done in his house who he worked with and he said Empire. Also, I would always see commercials of Empire Today and I thought about getting a quote. I liked the pricing and I wanted it to match the quality of what I was getting. The salesman asked me if I ever considered vinyl floor and I said no. He showed me a sample and I had it installed everywhere except the kitchen and the bathroom. I had carpet before and now that I have the vinyl flooring, it looks like a totally different house.
The installation was a little tedious at first. The previous owner had tile underneath tiles and we had to go through the whole check to see if there was asbestos. That delayed some of the flooring but the installer went ahead and did what he could. He called his supervisor, and he gave me the number to somebody in this area that does the testing. I was able to get in contact with the people that do the testing and they came out the same day. While the people were working, the person who checked for asbestos gave me the results over the phone and then sent me an email with the information. The installer called me and he was saying initially that he couldn’t get out here until after the next day. However, he called me the very next day and he said that if I had the results out, he would come and finish the floor.
We signed the contract for the quarter round and the installers were confused. We wanted the unfinished quarter round and they brought the wood quarter round and we said we didn’t want it. The next day, they brought the white and we told them we went with the unfinished. He said that they didn’t have it. Other than that, it was good. The installation team was here early in the morning and they were ready to go. They were patient we were told to move certain things and I could not do it all by myself. They helped me move it to another area and they moved to the side the stuff that was big. Then, they put it back with care after they did the floor.

I paid more than triple the amount but wanted it done and was assured everything was guaranteed satisfaction. The T-molding they installed didn’t match the color of the flooring. They basically took a scrap piece from the back of the truck and used it. Obviously I was not satisfied. I left about 20 messages with the company and was placed on hold for hours trying to get someone to call me back. No joke, finally a month later a customer service rep called me back. I have never dealt with such a horrible, unprofessional company. Every time I called nobody was able to help me and was promised I would get a call within 24 hours... I’m very pleased with them. When my money gets better, I will definitely call them to have some flooring done.

In contrast, Empire Today was be able to get in there and get the work done the next day, and that was the selling point so I went with them. I had them install hardwood floors in my master bedroom and on my staircase. I chose that particular product due to its look and value. I had an excellent experience with Empire and the whole crew did a hell of a job. Relative to how all the projects went on in my new house, Empire's crew was the best. They were the most reliable and the nicest guys. No doubt about it, the work they did was by far the best job that was done for me.

We had a carpet installation for our church office that took all of Thursday and part of Friday. It was only 600 ft.². The worst part was that the job looks absolutely terrible! I find it hard to believe that the person installing the carpet was even trained properly. That aside I have been on the phone nonstop since Friday night trying to find a resolution only to be put on hold, put into people's voicemails and told an inspector needs to come and look first. The original rep who gave me his cell phone saying to reach out if there's anything has been unhelpful too, for a company as well known as Empire I am frankly stunned!

I needed some carpet installed in the bedrooms and I had some friends say that Empire Today was pretty good. The color of the carpet I got from them looked one way but when I got it, it looked lighter. Also, I was told that they couldn’t put the silver piece that they put around the edge of the carpet where it meets the carpet in the hallway. I didn’t put in a new carpet in the hall because I wanted to get hardwood in that part. However, in the bedrooms, they just put that carpet down and it doesn’t have those attachments, and I didn’t like the way it looks. I had somebody from Empire come here and they said they couldn’t put those tacks on. I feel like this carpet is coming up soon from the people going in and out of these bedrooms. Also, I paid too much for it to do that. Nevertheless, they did a good job.

They did what we wanted, cleaned up after themselves and got the job done as quickly as possible. They did a good job. The carpet is new and I like that it's clean. I had Empire Today install ceramic tiles in my den, living room and hallway. I wanted a hardwood type of material but my husband wanted the ceramic so, we wound up with the lightest ceramic. Empire Today advertised that if I’d do one room, the other rooms would be $50 but it never came about and I paid almost $2,000. But the installation went smoothly. Once the installers got started, they did what they got to do and got it done. It was a little hard on the guys because we had to move stuff. Also, it was hard for me to take all the breakable stuff down and the dusting and cleaning up later on. So far, there are little spaces going around the door. I have to plug in the space to make it look like it’s not such a gap there. But other than that, the new flooring is doing okay.

We had to deal with the customer service more than a few times to get this resolved. Ciera from the Nashville area was more than helpful to put request but I know she can only do so much.

When I had the salesman come out, I received an estimate from him. He had to redo the figures and it took 6 days, with phone calls, and then texts, because his voicemail was full, to get the corrected amount, one day before installation. When the installers arrived, there was push back from the start. He didn't want to move furniture, I paid for that. He didn't want to install laminate in one of the bathrooms, because he said it would look terrible. I was staying at a hotel overnight, and paid $200 for that.
I went the following morning and met the installer and the salesman. I picked out a vinyl flooring then. I had to text him to try to get an install time. That was 5 days after I picked it out. I then had to ask him about a price adjustment because the vinyl was less. The difference was they owed me about $235, as I had paid in full for my entire house. Over $9000. The installers came today, and wanted me to pay for the vinyl, which of course I refused to do. They had to leave and reschedule because no one in customer service was able to figure it out. I am now set for an install on Monday, the 10th. This is ridiculous. I will make sure all of my friends, relatives and neighbors know about this debacle.

I called Empire’s 1 (800) number about 11:15 am. Ashley answered the phone and said she sees the appointment. Then she said no one is coming because they don’t have enough reps today, so I need to reschedule. She didn’t offer any compensation for today and not apologetic at all. On top of that I realized too late that they had had an opportunity to find some family jewelry that I thought I'd put away well enough and they stole a lot of pieces that were very sentimental. Beware what you sign with Empire Today despite what the salesperson says! Our experience was what I believe was an attempt at deceit that I was fortunate to spot before it was too late to cancel. When we told our salesperson that we would think about it, he told us that that was OK and a $20 deposit would lock in the price. My wife gave him her debit card for this. He asked if he could check my credit to confirm that we could secure financing. Without telling me what he was doing or informing me that he was doing it the salesperson proceeded to complete the transaction committing us to the sale while leading me to believe I was signing paperwork relating to holding the pricing. He then handed my wife the debit card and said we would not need it because my credit score was so good.
On the last page I was signing I noticed that it mentioned a "Three-Day Right to Cancel". The salesman assured me that I should ignore the text of the contract and I had until three days before the estimated install date to cancel. DO NOT LISTEN TO WHAT THEY SAY! READ THE CONTRACT! When I complained to the corporate office rather than apologize for this deceptive sales tactic they asked me why else I would do a credit check unless I was proceeding with the purchase. The most chilling words from the supervisor that I spoke to was "I'm looking at a fifteen page contract that has your signature all over it." Thank God I cancelled in time. My advice is to stay away from this charlatan behavior.

It said insufficient funds. I’m very unhappy with the office staff, especially the lady that took the information. She did nothing but cause us grief for five weeks. Empire Today installed carpeting in our living room. Their salesman showed us what he could give us, what would be done, how, and where he would cover. Our house is a little broken out and it involves some cutting out of parts for the fireplace and a couple little hallways and for the staircase. He gave me a very good price on it for what we got, plus it had the padding with it. We told him what color we wanted and for whatever reason, people don't carry blue anymore. Everything is brown, but he had some blue there. I walked out to the van with him and I saw one that I knew my sister wanted. I brought it in and showed it to her. She said that it was what I want so we decided to take that.
The installers moved what I had left in there. We had already gotten rid most of the stuff out of here 'cause we had a little problem we had to take care of, with an infestation and we had gotten rid most of the stuff. But what we had here, they moved for us. I'm happy with the experience and the end product so far. It's only been in here for a month and there is nothing fraying, bulging, sticking up, wrinkles, and rolls. I like that the carpet is nice and soft, and besides the color, it's comfortable to walk on.

I got cheap carpet from Empire Today for our rental house. It was cheap and it was a good deal. I trusted that because I knew the salesman, if there were any issues then I could always get him to help me. In fact, there was an issue but I didn't have to get him to help me. The company took care of it just fine. I received a call about five minutes before 8:00 AM, telling me that the installers would be at my house within the next two hours. But they didn't show up until after 4:30. That had everything to do with how I scheduled my workers at the house that day and it cost me money. I explained that to someone at Empire Today and he asked me what I thought it cost. I told him that it probably cost me $111 and he said, "Well, how about we take off $150." I told him that was fine and he did it so I'm completely satisfied.
I really want them to correct that scheduling problem though. I got the impression that this was just how they do things. But a company as good as Empire shouldn't be doing something like that. That was not respectful of me and my time. When they told me they were gonna be there by 10:00 o'clock but they didn't show up until 4:30, they ruined my day. They had taken a whole day instead of a couple of hours of my day. So many companies act like nobody else is working but everyone else is working.
But the mistake was made with whoever did the scheduling and sent out that automatic call. I wasn't gonna be upset with the workers because someone in the office made a mistake. I was just happy to see them when they finally got there. Plus they did a very good job and were very friendly. They worked with a good attitude and they seemed to enjoy what they were doing. They carpeted over my under-the-house access and I caught that. When I asked them to correct something, they did it with a smile. They didn't act at all like they were a little put out, and they did a nice job of correcting that. To this point, the carpet has been fine too. I expect to have to replace it but it seemed like it would be there for a few years. When it's done, I'll call Empire Today to put in new flooring. I've recommended the company to someone else too.

Hardwood for one room, took them all day! Literally they were here from 8 a.m. To 8 p.m. The finished trim they put on, horrible! One wall, less than 7 feet long had three different cuts in it... really? I'm not even a carpenter and I can tell you that's not how it goes. Could of done better myself. Now to the carpet. I ordered carpet for three sets of stairs. One was for the entire stairs so that was installed in one day, looks ok, absolutely no padding. The other two stairs I was looking for more of a runner.
The installers who came were not even aware that they were going to be runners and told me that they would have to send the carpet out to be binded and I would have to schedule another install appointment. And get this, I had to pay everything up front! It's been over three weeks since then and still no carpets on my stairs. 3rd Appointment was scheduled for this morning, no show! I called and said that when I scheduled the appointment I specifically asked for an a.m. Install. Well they were not scheduled to come until 8 p.m. Who the hell installs carpet at 8 p.m.? Wtf? So now I have to reschedule for like the fourth time! This is the last or I will definitely fight for my money back! Worse company ever! Would never recommend! And will never use again!

New baseboards had to be put down to match what we had in the rest of the house. The piece was added in the carpeted area of the home and now that floor is so loud. I know it was louder to walk on that carpet but this is not walking noise now. This is creaking and groaning. There’s also a creaky area in the kitchen because of the laminate exploding in the area where the refrigerator is. It’s really noisy there too. So far, I’m not getting anywhere with trying to get somebody to come and look at it. Empire Today said the product needs to acclimate and they told me to call back in October before they can send somebody out. That aside, I love the color of the flooring. It is so easy to clean too. I’d recommend Empire Today.

Empire Today showed samples of the carpet and it looked basically the same as what the other brand was, but then I thought Empire had a good reputation. I had them install it in my living room and hallway. However, I'm not really happy now that I got it. It doesn't seem to be the same as the sample that I looked at, the grade is off. I checked the middle grade for everything, and it just seemed like it was the cheaper grade. But then the installation was great.

Empire Today's price was right. I’ve used them in the past and they’ve done a good job. This time, I had them install some plush carpeting in all the bedrooms upstairs, my family room and the stairs in my house. Overall, it looks okay but there are areas that butts up to where the baseboard is. I’m just very picky. They did a good job and also, everybody says, “Oh, no. It’s okay.” Also, they said it’s gonna take a little while for the smell of the carpeting to go away. It’s almost been two months. I’m a little concerned because I’m still smelling it. I also wanted the upgraded padding on it, and I don’t know exactly what I got. So, I’m hoping everything I selected was the upgraded padding. I tell my friends, “Go to Empire. Have them come out and you decide yourself.” I’ve used them a couple of times before, and their carpeting never buckled in all the years that I’ve had them.

On August 9, 2018, I had scheduled a day off for the installation of my floors. However, I received a call that morning that the materials have not been received and I had to re-arrange my schedule to accommodate a new installation date of August 11th. So August 11th arrived and the installers came to start on the assignment. After they completed the work, I noticed that they did not complete the following tasks:
1. Quarter round did not match. 2. Trim could not be installed (they did contact James the installation coordinator to alert him of this error; James guaranteed that a sales rep would be in contact to correct this situation; no call as of today). 3. Did not place the underlay. 4. Did not remove the vinyl flooring in the kitchen before placing the hardwood down. 5. The cove base under the sink and counters were removed but never replaced (they indicated that they didn't have the material in the truck). 6. They wanted me to sign the "completion order" but I refused because they did not complete what I ordered.
Based on my experience with this company, I would say giving this review a ONE star is generous. As of today and after many unreturned phone calls, I do not have a resolution to my problem. This has caused tremendous stress and unwanted headaches to my health. I'm highly disappointed in the service that I have received or the lack of. I will be reporting this incident to the State of Ohio Better Business Bureau.

The cost was a little higher but I appreciated the convenience of the way that they did business. Overall, I had a really good experience with them. We had one problem that their rep had to come back three different times to fix but that was because of a problem with our floor and not because of their installation. I recommend Empire Today but their selection is limited.

A friend had Empire Today and we used them on his recommendation. The cost was a little higher than you can get at Home Depot, but Empire has a special way of laying down the flooring. They set an appointment and they were out quick, which I really liked. The guys came out and put the tile down in the dining room, kitchen and hallway. It took them three days and then I had to call them back out to re-clean their work because the haze on the flooring was so bad, I couldn’t get it off.
About two days later, Empire's guys came back, put carpet in the living room and the bedrooms, and the installers were bad. The seams were all crooked and when they were putting carpet in the living room, the tool they used to seam the carpet together sparked and the guy threw it down the carpet. It burned the carpet and he didn’t say anything. I saw it, told Empire and they sent someone else to come out. He replaced the whole carpet and he did well.

He left my granddaughter in charge of the dog and she didn’t take the dog out to do her business a lot so the carpet that was in my bedroom was spoiled. I have allergies and I wanted a flooring that was dog-friendly. I had the laminate flooring installed in my bedroom and I like its color. However, I wasn’t given instructions on the best way to clean and take care of it. I understand I can get information on the internet but I’m not computer savvy.
I was amazed at the installer. He was very professional and fast. I was really pleased with the service and the follow-up. When he installed the flooring, there was a glider tool that wasn’t with the kit. He would have had to drive all the way back to Phoenix to pick one up and it was late. He said he’d come back at a certain time the next day. It was a five-minute job but he was very punctual and it took him no time at all. He arrived at ten o’clock and took half an hour for lunch. He told me when he would be back and he was here by 1:15. I was really pleased with the service and follow-up.

I had Empire Today install a carpet upstairs and it was a very good experience. I didn’t have to do the actual bedrooms except for one room and I wanted everything to match and Empire Today had the same carpeting that I wanted. I first used Empire in New York years ago and they did a good job. The second time was down here when we first bought the house. But the guys who put the carpeting in were not that skilled. So when I had Empire come back the third time after we finished the renovation, they made sure that the guys who came here were very good.
Empire Today has to have people coming into homes that know what they’re doing. They have to rip bad carpeting and it’s not good and leaves a bad taste in the consumer’s mouth. But because I voiced that to Empire the second time, they really stepped up to the plate, and I was very happy about that. People should make sure to let Empire know that they want skilled people as that is important, especially in Florida. Overall, Empire's price is right and their guys do their job quickly.

We called Empire to come out to give my 82 year old mother in law an estimate on flooring. The sales person came out and showed her the product/price and we decided to go with them based on the info that they gave us for the complete job. Once the Installers showed up and asked to be paid in full ahead of starting the job or they couldn’t start so we reluctantly paid and they began to remove up the carpeting and then told us that it needed an additional $930 to level out the floor which we declined.
When I called Empire to question this I was told that the details are in the small print in the contract she signed which was never discussed by the sales agent that came out to give her the estimate. In fact while she was signing the contract on an iPad with a broken stylus he was showing her pictures of some wedding that he attended am sure now as a distraction to confuse a elderly person when presented with a contract to sign. And it was never discussed by the sales agent that came out. When trying to explain this to customer service they were very rude and matter-of-fact at that point I told installers to get out, leave. Our old carpet was 13 years old and it needed to be replaced in the bedroom, living room and the closets. Our sales person was friendly and helpful and assured us that we were replacing our carpet with the same carpet we had so the house would look uniform. We removed the furniture each room for the installation team as requested so they could install the carpet into the empty rooms. The installation team came and installed the carpet. However, there was an issue with the installation. The team cut some carpet wrong and had to come back the next day to finish the closet because they did not have enough to finish the closet. The installation was complete and I paid them $1,700 dollars. The carpet looks crushed and worn after only two years which is strange given that there are only two people in the house and no dogs. Our old carpet withstood a dog, two kids and their friends and my husband and I.
About a month ago, we noticed that the carpet appeared to be wrinkling in several places. This signals that the installation was done incorrectly. The carpet we had for 13 years never wrinkled. We called Empire and they told us that they would come and fix it for about 200 dollars. They were not interested in looking at the issues, they just wanted the additional money to fix it. We declined given that we already paid them several hundred dollars to install the carpet which is now faulty. We have concerns that this wrinkling will continue and we will need to keep paying them to come out. Buyer beware - you might pay almost $2,000 dollars for a carpet that will likely need to be replaced if the carpet cannot be fixed or if they damage the tile in the kitchen floor which is attached to the living room. Do yourself a favor...contact another organization to help you.

Nothing but a nightmare. Measured incorrectly, sent one guy to install & was too much so instead of one day install it was days. No one knows what they are doing. Scheduling is a huge problem & absolutely no customer service. 3 months after final installation my laminate started buckling. Took weeks & us getting the local new station calling them to finally get the repair scheduled. They rarely answer their phone & when they did they said they were waiting on materials. Took them 3 weeks to get 2 boxes of laminate. Then we find out they did not install a moisture barrier under the padding so the laminate was wet & is now stacked in my driveway. Overpaid for these floors to only have 3 months & they didn’t even haul them away. The previous laminate had been down over 5 years with no problems. Replaced due to remodel, moving a wall & wanted a lighter color.
After paying Empire $7500.00 for floors I only had 3 months we are having a reputable company install new floors. The installer asked me which way to lay the planks. He was going to lay them short way in the hall. Needless to say Empire is not trying to make this right, they are blaming us & not reimbursing us for our expense & their mistake. Why would they not install a moisture barrier?? NEVER use them.

It does great in terms of cleaning too. I haven't wet it yet. I just take it up with a dry mop and it cleans very nicely.
Plus when the guys came to install, they asked me which way I wanted the flooring installed or what way to run it. I said I didn't know and they told me what way it was supposed to be. I said, "All right." And they did a wonderful job. Once they had started, they only stopped and had to drink water. They didn't take lunch and went right back to work. Worst experience. Wasted my two hours in prime evening time. I simply need an estimate but when I went online to book to get scheduled, only 4 days later time was available. I booked it anyway since I had a good experience with before. Unlike the previous experience, no one had called me to confirm. So I called an hour before the scheduled window, asking around what time the rep will be arriving. 1st customer service personnel tried to call the rep but couldn't reach, so she said she left a message to call me. No one called next 30 mins, so I call back.
2nd customer service personnel said she will try to call the rep and then she hangs up on me. So I call back. 3rd customer service personnel said he cannot locate my appointment in the system, I was on the phone for 20 mins and finally he got through the rep but wouldn't tell me when he will be arriving, instead just telling me he is on the route so I specifically told the customer service personnel to tell the rep to call me at least 10 mins before arriving. 10 mins later I get a phone call from my front desk of the apartment that the guy is there.
I was right outside getting something to eat and told them to open the door for him since I am coming right back, the rep told the people that he is leaving and when I got there, they said, he just didn't want to go into the apartment. Empire calls me to reschedule the appointment because rep left...??? And says they gave me 30 mins warning? No one has contacted me about the appointment. I had to call so many times to find out when the rep is coming out. And when the rep actually came, he didn't have any decency to call me to tell me even though the front desk guy told him I was coming right back, and he knows that I have been trying to get in touch to know when exactly he will be arriving.
The rep basically came and left within 1 min. knowing I have been waiting but stepped out for a few mins. And the customer service who called to reschedule kept telling me that they have a record of giving 30 min. warning? No one called me to let me know that. Such horrible waste of my 4 days of waiting to get this estimated. So not as all the good reviews and experience I had so far. Such big disappointment. Will never ever recommend to anyone.

We are a small therapy suite business and I have two large suites consisting of 3 waiting rooms, 15 offices and conference room which were to be carpeted. If you want a short summary of our experience, just re-read the title, from here on it's long. First the good things: a) the price was reasonable; b) the sales rep was patient with us early on while samples were being chosen as several people had to weigh in; c) according to my operations manager, the installers (when they came) worked hard and did a good job. The carpet does look very nice. For these reasons, and at the urging of the ops mgr, I am giving 2 stars. If it were totally up to me as the boss, I'd give them 1 star.
Between the time the samples were chosen and the contract signed, I had many questions and it took weeks to get them clarified: what is the timeline for ordering the carpet, how soon can it be installed, how many offices are done in a given time frame, how long with the entire job take, will the crew work on Saturday? I had to relocate people in the offices so it was a complicated task with many moving parts. This was annoying and stressful, but ultimately resolved. They would work 9-5 on Thursday through Saturday and I would pay for extra freight elevator service in our building on Saturday. The rep informed us (in an email) that we would also need our ops mgr on site to supervise and assist with moving furniture (each office had couch, two chairs, desk/table and some file cabinets or bookshelves). Ok, no problem.
The day before the job, we were even contacted by their "helpful walk through" specialist who reviewed and confirmed the above. Thursday morning, the crew showed up (after 10:30) and adamantly refused to move any furniture. They also were requiring that we have at least 3 offices cleared out before they'd even get out of their truck. The sales rep, who we contacted, denied saying that we only had to supervise and assist with the move, saying we went over this many times. No one else was contact-able to resolve this. You might guess, that of course one of the crew offered to make an exception and help us out for say, $2000 under the table. (Empire, should I name names at any point? Just let me know!) My ops mgr negotiated him down to $1000 just so the job could proceed.
Sadly, I felt stuck on a tight time-frame so patient appointments wouldn't be disrupted any more than they already were with the relocations of therapists, couldn't reach a manager at Empire, so I wrote the check. It was now after 1:00 before the work began, and about 3 offices were done when they left the first day. Second day was a full day. I'm relieved. Saturday they were late again and didn't get started until after 11, citing "problems picking up the carpet at the warehouse" and by end of day the job was not nearly done though they had a larger crew. Do they know I'm a therapist? Are they toying with my feelings? My ops mgr insisted they return Sun and they did, but the head of the crew complained that it was hard to get anyone to come to work, and the 2 helpers were not the same guys as the other days. I'm not even certain they actually worked for Empire at this point.
At 4:15 the carpet is all laid and I was appreciative of that. However, as they were working on two floors simultaneously, the ops mgr could only supervise so much, so boxes he had labeled for certain rooms ended up in other rooms, practically impossible to find, and at least 4 smaller office and the large conference room could not be returned to their original state in time for Monday work. So now I have an additional $1000 of extortion money, another $1250 to run the freight on Sun, overtime for the ops mgr, and salary for him and another mover to come back again to finish organizing the offices.
Funny thing, I'd tried to use Empire over 10 years ago to do work in the same suite. When their reps never showed up, I crossed them off the list and went with a private company. A decade later, I thought I'd give them another try. I should have known better. It's hard for people to change ingrained patterns of incompetency and disorganization. Unless they want to come to therapy and work on it. You have my number, Empire.

We had Empire Today install laminate wood through the whole house, and the guy who installed it did a wonderful job. We really like the whole thing, including the combination of the quarter round and the molding that he put down. It is really nice and it makes each room look larger. Yesterday, however, I was thinking about filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. We have this large wall unit with a TV inside. We also had a lot of shelves and other things in there. Empire Today told us we would have to pay $150 for them to move it. We paid the $150 and it was included in the whole cost. However, when the time came for them to move it, there was a lot of electrical things in there that needed to be taken apart.
They said we’d have to take it apart and we’d also have to reinstall it. We are elderly people, and there was no way we could have done that. We decided not to have it moved and they would install around it. In the meantime, they owe us $150. We’ve gone back and forth with it and they lied to us several times. They said Wells Fargo was gonna rewrite it, but there was no way they were gonna rewrite that because Empire already had the money. We’re still waiting for our $150. Also, we are paying finance fees on it and we don’t like that.

My sister had Empire Today do her hallway in their home in Florida. I've been there and it was very pretty. I needed to get new flooring for my hallway, living room, and dining room and I told my sister that I was gonna call this other company that just put in carpet in my home. She to go to Empire instead and she called them. Initially, I didn't want to spend more than $3,000 on the flooring, but I ended up paying $3,500. I got that for one year with no interest. Empire Today installed a laminate floor for me and when their guys came in, they were very nice and polite. That day, it was pouring down rain outside and the men made a canopy out here for my home so that nothing would get wet because they had the machine on. They went ahead, took a little break and carried on, and did beautifully. A lot of people come in here and they can't believe how pretty my flooring looks. I was satisfied with my experience and I told my friends about it.

Well I am sitting here after making all arrangement for carpet installation. Took day off. Got care for dogs. Removed all furniture... Installer comes with carpet about 4 shade lighter than I ordered. I spent about two hours with the consultant making sure I was receiving a brown carpet not caramel, not mauve, we matched the sample to my brown ottoman to make sure it was brown. Well carpet comes looks more taupe than brown and is extremely thinner than sample. I call to notify them and the women who helped me choose the carpet and tile calls back. I began with, "I know it’s not your fault but the sample does not match the carpet that came." I reminded her about the conversation we had about my concerns of getting brown, that’s when she raised her voice and said, "Are you blaming me." and I mean in a really rude and very defensive voice. Then goes to say, "You will never get a carpet to match the sample," still in a angry and rude tone.
Now for tile the carpet was to be installed after tile so they wouldn’t have to step over new carpet. I get a call that the carpet is coming before tile. I call and that was easy fix but the tile grout was not sealed. The operator kept putting me on hold and coming back with different excuses then tells me the grout has a sealer in it. I am looking at the bag of grout. It says sealer needed. I know no one is perfect but it seems they are more concerned with making excuses rather than say, "Ok we will help fix it." The grout is also very much lighter. I ordered silver and got white! So here I wait for someone to call me about my concerns.

When I called and complained about the installation and now a brand new floor with scratches at door, I was told they weren’t responsible!!! What? You installed the floor and I can’t open my doors without scratching the floor ? NOBODY EVER TOLD US TO HAVE DOORS SHAVED. WE WERE TOLD THE INSTALLERS WOULD TAKE CARE OF IT ALL! The customer service people were RUDE and told me that there was NO lifetime warranty against scratches or fading! Great! I would never use them again!!! My rug is all choppy where the molding is supposed to be. Then, the molding doesn't match the floor. They took away my good saddle for my door and they gave me a piece of garbage. I could also see my basement coming up.
After six months, some of the issues got fixed but some of them still aren't. My rug is still chucked. I sent Empire pictures and they sent three guys over. Nobody spoke English and all they did was take pictures. Nobody got anything resolved. Then finally, one guy came. He saw the problem and he told Empire what it was. Empire was supposed to come and give me a new piece of molding but they never did. I stopped calling because I would call and they never called me back. Then, on TV they show that there are discounts, but I got none. I called them up many times but they didn’t wanna hear it. I will never use Empire again. We still was not happy so I call the contractor he agreed to come back and removed some repaired wood planks about 13. When they returned instead of removing the baseboard and remove the flooring floor he started to cut one out with a circular saw. After I seen what he was doing I stopped him. I informed him you are going to have to take up the floor.
He later came in and take up the floor in the kitchen area and change about 8. So we still was not happy so we called Mrs ** and a week later they came to remove about 13 more. At this time also put in wood planks my stairwell. When they were done. My stairwell had multiple sizes in depth. One was 8-1/2, 9, 9-7/8, 11-1/4. Before they were 10-1/2. I reported to the manager. They came back out and remove all the wood off my stairwell. The contractor instead of removing all the nose from original stairs he left them on and place spacers.

I am so disappointed that this carpet did not turn out as planned. One and a half years ago I helped my 91 year old grandfather get a new carpet in the living room and hallway of his apartment. We decided on Empire. Early this summer, I noticed a large bump in the middle of the living room that is getting larger every week, and several smaller bumps in the hallway. My grandfather does not use a walker or wheelchair, so there is no reason for this besides poor installation. He had wall to wall carpeting for 40 years with no such issues.
It is now a serious safety concern, as my elderly grandfather is at risk for falling and has now tripped several times. I have called to try to speak to a manager nearly 8 times, and have left messages, being told my only option was to pay $180 to get it stretched. I was recently told I would have a call back in 24 hours several times, never happened. I have received NO follow up. Most recently, I was told by a call center manager that the district manager would be following up with me and that was 3 weeks ago. I am so disappointed, concerned and in shock that a company that prides themselves on customer service has left an elderly man at such a risk.

My experience with Empire started on a very positive note with my sales consult. The associate was very helpful with helping us pick the right carpet and making sure we had the warranty we wanted as well and worked to accommodate our request for install dates and times but it went downhill from there. Carpet was installed on 3/3/18 – Tech arrived late and showed up with his wife and child in his truck and he was in a hurry. He then started to inform us that we paid way too much for the carpet and that Empire overcharges for the type of carpet we got and they never honor the warranty. We would have been better getting someone off of Craigslist. He stated the carpet was a little wet as well as it was in the warehouse but that he would cut those areas off.
Now, we start noticing that the carpet around the tile boarder is coming up. We contact Empire to schedule for someone to come out and see about making repairs. The young lady we spoke to stated that she could have the tech out there on Saturday August 11 between 8am and 10am. We are now waiting and no one has called or showed up and it is 10:45am. We contact them and we spoke to a lady who was rude and informed us, "Look your appointment maybe from 8 to 10 but these are sub-contractors and they can show up any time before 6pm".
I informed her that this is the first time I am hearing this, and she stated, "Well I am telling you now." and hangs up. The tech finally shows up at 5:30 and it was the same guy who installed the carpet. He stated he was in a hurry and that no one gave him the call until 11:30am and he was already on a call and had things to do. He stated the issue was that the TACK strip was not replaced and it was old and not holding the carpet in place and that it was bad carpet. He stated he could not stretch the carpet because there was not enough of it to stretch and because the carpet is fraying at the transition.
I called on Monday August 13th and complained and the young lady that helped me was truly wonderful and stated someone will contact me. I received a call on Tuesday from a lady who stated she was a manager and that she needed to come out and inspect the carpet to confirm the issues. She arrived on Wednesday August 15th and informed my mother-in-law she was not a manger but a installer and her name was Eunitha ** and she then proceeds to inform my mother-in-law that there is nothing wrong with the carpet; that the issue is the dog is eating the carpet.
Are you serious??? She is telling my mother my dog who is trained and I mean very well trained that they are eating the carpet. My dogs are not eating the carpet, nor do they play on the carpet. For someone to come into my home and tell my mother there is nothing she is going to do because her dog and cat has done the same thing to her carpet and this is what my dogs have done to this carpet is totally unprofessional. I have carpet in other parts of the home and this is not an issue.
I have a warranty on this carpet and the entire carpet is coming apart where it meets the tile and this is not a dog issue. I have done a lot of research on fraying carpet and this has nothing to do with pets. It has to do with poorly installed carpet. Transition molding – Where carpet meets other floor coverings, the edges must be adequately protected with an appropriate transition molding.
Sealing – Edges placed into transitional moldings may require sealing to prevent ng – Edges placed into transitional moldings may require sealing to prevent raveling.
Carpet is fraying and looking ragged next to the wall and at transitions: When carpet is manufactured it has a raw edge. We all understand that if a garment fabric has had the selvage cut off it needs to be hemmed or have a serged edge applied to keep it from fraying. The raw edge of a carpet backing fabric is no different in the sense that if it is not protected it too will fray. To protect that raw edge the carpet must be fully tucked between the tack strip and the wall so that the threads from the raw edge of the back will not work to the surface.
As with the backing around the walls, threads from the raw edges of the backing when not adequately tucked or protected will work to the surface. As you walk across these transitions or vacuum the carpet in these areas the back of the carpet can be separated. When it is difficult to protect the edge it is often advisable to use an adhesive along the raw edge to seal. I really need someone to contact me to resolve this issue.
Cheryl, we understand your frustration and regret to hear that your carpet is not meeting your expectations. We've located your order, and we'll be in touch with you shortly to discuss your concerns.

Ashley ** tries ripping me off. We will only compensate me 155 dollars. This is not what I ordered. You changed my contract after you got caught. Now they want to come out replace the pad restretch my carpet. Wtf. Now give me my hard earned money back. They're thieves and don't even inquire about the 50 dollar special. I had carpet installed by Empire Today in my family room and on some steps. I had a rough time getting started, but it was all right after I got started. Empire kept calling and changing things. They sent a new person out. I saw they measured everything right but I had to wait until they send another person and they put me off of at least a week. But the second salesman that came out was really good. I was used to people doing things first of the week and have it nice when the weekend comes, but they came on an Easter Monday. They told me they'd come at 8 o'clock in the morning but they got to my house by 4:30.
I had an excellent interaction with the installers. They tore up everything and took them out. Empire Today has their prices and it was entirely too much at first. Then they brought me some just as nice so I’m satisfied. Also, I paid it all out, but I’m looking for my balance and they haven’t sent that yet. I’ve got my receipts and August 2nd was the last payment I sent. I was glad I paid it off faster ‘cause they had it done for a low percent, but I paid it off in three full payments. And if a friend of mine asks me about Empire Today, I would tell her that she has to bear with them but they did an excellent job.

We had a whole apartment carpeted by Empire Today. They came to the house with the samples, which made us work with them instead of the other companies. Their rep showed us stuff and he was okay. Although, he wasn’t very cooperative when the people came so late to do the installation. I called him about it and he said that the installers had somebody else to do before us. He was quite short about the whole thing. They knew they were carpeting a whole apartment and that it would take a day to do it, so they should have made a plan for this. The carpeting is okay, but I felt that it was an awful lot of money and I was overcharged.

I asked for a supervisor and of course everyday they tell me someone will call. I have not heard from them at ALL. I am totally not satisfied with the service I am getting. First off I should have been wary after the salesmen canceled on me twice beforehand, but I went back and made another appointment. The salesman was polite and did bring lots of samples with him. I was getting all my bedrooms redone and my living room. Choose a carpet and set up a install date which was a Friday. So come Friday I took off work and had my whole house emptied and torn apart ready for the installers. They did show up on time but said they did not bring enough carpet they will be back tomorrow (Sat.) and took off not even doing one room. About an hour later a rep called and told me my carpet would be now on Sun not Sat. because there are no available installers.
She was more worried about how I was going to pay for the carpet on Sun. than the inconvenience they were leaving me with. Sun the installers show AGAIN without enough carpet AND without doing any rooms. They told me now it would be Tue. that when they would be able to come back. Tuesday took off work again, have an email from them confirming my installation for that day. 9:30 no word from them. I give them a call. They tell me I am scheduled for the day but a install crew has not been assigned yet and was told to give a back in a hour if I do not hear from them.
Hour later no word so I call back, put on hold. When they came back was told all installers were busy and they were going to have to reschedule AGAIN which the earliest date was the following Monday 10 days after my original install date. Was offered no compensation because I was misquoted on my carpet by over 1000 dollars which I already knew was a lie 'cause I already priced check at a local carpet store for like carpet and difference was only a couple hundred. So I had my order canceled and would never buy from them again or would I recommend Empire to anyone.

Empire Carpet came through. They recognized that the color difference was more than a lot dye problem. They removed the old mauve carpet and replaced the entire house with the proper mushroom colored carpet. It looks awesome. I am very happy with the final response the performance and the installation.
Original Review: Aug. 14, 2018
When the salesperson was here I chose a dark mushroom color of carpet. When the installer came he showed me a square inch of carpet that looked very similar. It just depends on how the light hits. Ultimately what they installed was a mauve colored carpet and what I ordered was a dark mushroom carpet. In addition they offer 1-year free financing with a predatory lender. Synchrony Bank. Just be careful when you deal with these people. Everything Is Not What It Seems. And they have refused to make any adjustments or concessions. The excuse that they gave for not making a correction of some kind was the color variants of the lot. I feel duped. BE VERY CAREFUL OF THIS VENDOR. MAUVE IS NOT DARK MUSHROOM.
Updated on 08/14/2018: Empire called me back and offered me $100 to live with a carpet that is mauve colored when I clearly ordered the color dark mushroom. For all I know at this point it may not even be the same product. Horrifying experience. I have $8,000 worth of carpet that is contrary to exactly what I ordered and they're saying it is a lot color variance. Between the color mauve which has a severe purple hue and the color mushroom which has a brown hue. Be careful please when dealing with these people. They do not deliver as promised. I don't know how they expect you to okay sample of one inch square in someone's hand against the carpet when it is laid.

I got bids from different companies and looked at their product. I have two dogs so I wanted something in case I had accidents when they get older, I wouldn’t have to worry about my carpet rotting out. Other companies that I had called on to come out kept calling and telling me they couldn’t make it. That discouraged me from doing business with them. When I called Empire, the salesman came right out and kept his time. He was a little late one time but he called me to tell me he would be there.
Empire has their own installers and the quality of their work was great. It was done in one day. I had the interior painted so everything was packed up. All they had to do was move the furniture and install it. I had carpet removed out in one bedroom and a vinyl put down. Then, I had my carpet removed and carpet put down too. It was a really smooth installation and a great experience.
I would tell friends to use Empire. I would also refer them to Mike, the salesman that I used. He helped me make up my mind as I had never done that before in my life. When he came out, I picked out one color but it kept going over in my mind that I don’t like that color so I called him again. He came out and showed my daughter the color that I picked and then he brought out some more samples. That was when I changed my mind and got a new color. There was a 75% discount to have it installed by a certain date, too.

A friend suggested Empire and I got them to install different shades of gray vinyl in two bedrooms, a bathroom and a hall. They also did little edging around the flooring and the walls. Though their sales rep was very talkative, he was pretty good and he answered all of my questions. However, I’ve got several places that already came on and I’ve not even had the flooring for six months. The vinyl was laid out properly but the floor wasn’t exactly flat as it needed to be and it shows through on the vinyl. They should’ve said something before they laid it instead of letting me bring it to their attention. I paid all this money yet they said that there was nothing they could do about the problem. I don't recommend them.

The salesperson was awesome...came in, listened and we found a solution for flooring. We ended up choosing laminate and carpet. The schedule date was 3 weeks out...plenty of time for me to take schedule the day off so they could install the laminate. Was called the evening before the install that the color I selected is no longer in stock and I would have to pick another color...weird they found out the day before! So, was told that they would PROMISE to come out the next day if I picked another color. Left work early to meet the sales guy. We picked a new color and he submitted it.
I asked multiple times if we were still on for tomorrow. He said if corporate manager had said yes...then we were. So the next day I showed up at my rental and no one ever came. I even got the email that said they would show up...still no one showed. I called and they said all changes require 72 hours to go through the system and that they could not install today. I just missed 1.5 days of work!!!
Next, carpet people came out next day. Said I "might" have asbestos" in my tile, but they could glue the tack strips down, but needed manager permission first. They called the manager and never got a hold of them...so they left. Another day completely wasted! That is two days of work gone. Finally got ahold of the manager that said another installer would come out on Saturday to glue the strips down...again, waited on Saturday for several hours. Installer showed up at 5:20 and refused to glue strips down. Said it wouldn't work. Didn't offer any alternatives and just left! I have now SEVERAL day lost due to this company!!! Next, installers was to come out Monday and install laminate...said due to some uneven flooring in small area that they would not install unless I signed document voiding warranty for entire install.
There are rooms separated by 12 foot opening. Only 4 of those feet were uneven by 1.5 inches...totally understood. Suggested a transition piece that would make the living room totally separate and LEVEL from the dining room. They said no...that laminate floor would give and take and would ruin the entire floor!!! All 400 square feet would have been separate from the uneven part and they still wouldn't do it unless I gave up warranty on entire install. Called manager again and after several discussions they said they would call me back in 10 minutes...it never happened! It's been 4 hours and I have still not heard anything. I called the managers back. They are not answering! NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! It's not worth it! Their service is horrible.

We had just purchased our house in Lawrenceville, GA on October of 2016 and before we moved in, we wanted to remove the carpet and have hardwood floors installed on the first floor. The salesperson was polite and professional. It was a bit pricey but the sales person assured me that it was well worth it because they back their product up with a lifetime warranty and that we had nothing to worry about. So we proceeded with the install. We were very happy initially with the install and the house looked great. Now we are coming up on 2 years, and the floor in my living room is starting to bulge. I called customer service and told them about the problem and they assigned a ticket and told me that someone would be calling me back within 24 hrs. 5 days go by and no call!
So I call back and they opened up a new ticket and told me the same thing. This time someone did call back. They told me to send them pictures and they will review them and schedule someone to come out. I thought great! However, I got an email back with some disappointing news. The representative basically told me that the installation warranty was only good for 12 months and the manufacturer's warranty does not cover damage caused by wetting or the presence of excessive moisture. Now I'm furious!
I should be able to mop my hardwood floors to keep it clean. The sales person did not go over any special cleaning requirements or explained anything about not being able to mop these particular floors. I paid over $6000 for this floor which to me is a lot of money. Now I feel ripped off and helpless. The customer service representative wants to send someone out to inspect it and test for moisture. This leads me to believe that nothing is going to happen and I will be stuck. I expected that they would send someone out to fix it. But not the case. I am extremely upset and I would rather not talk to any local customer service. This case needs to be escalated to corporate.

Buyer beware. You may be charmed with a very knowledgeable and competent sales person but once they have your commitment they have absolutely no control over the installation if things go poorly. Empire is merely a name that independent contractor work under. My experience: my sales person was wonderful. She walked away with a $17k sale. Installation was to start the next day - carpet and laminate.
After two days of installation (by little English speaking Hispanics) there were issues that need fixed. The sales person can only give you a 1-800 number to which you enter a maze of on hold and incompetence. You never get an actual person who will do the work only Empire schedulers. It’s been 2 weeks! I had the carpet issues repairs by the laminate- still unfinished. If called the dedicated person FOUR times and left vm messages, my sales person can’t help AND her sales manager hasn’t returned call either. This company is the WORST.

We wanted time to think about it and compare prices. The gentlemen left and came back to our house after 5 minutes. He explained a better deal and we thanked him and said we still wanted to think about it. The next morning we wanted to go forward with the deal and we're unable to connect with the salesman. I called the main line and they assured me that someone would be calling to speak with me.
We finally heard back from our salesman at 8 p.M. That night. By that point we wanted to speak to someone else due to the unprofessionalism of the salesman. The next morning we called the main line again and ask to speak with a manager or someone other than the original salesman. It has been 5 days now and we have not heard from anyone at Empire today regarding the two service tickets I requested when wanting to speak to a manager. At this point will be looking for another company to do our flooring. Our frustration is due to the quick turnaround to get a Salesman in our home and pressure to sign at that moment. When we refused and wanted time to process the quote, the company has now refuse to call us back.

Prior to choosing them, we had looked at Home Depot and those stores, but it was my interaction with Nora in a lead networking group that made me decide to have her come to the house and put the carpeting in. She was such a wonderful rep and she had a really good eye for helping us look at flooring and think about what to put down. I also loved the coloring that went with our wick in the room and I liked that the flooring had a warranty too.
Empire's installation team was wonderful. They were very courteous and they did a great job very quickly. I've been meaning to call Nora though because there are a couple of places where the flooring popped and one little spot where it's a little uneven. But other than that, we absolutely loved the floor so, they're highly recommended. I also have already referred Nora to other people who are looking for flooring.

About a half hour after the window of time passed that they give you for the appointment, my husband called to see what happened. He was told that the manager should have called and let us know that they had a scheduling conflict and were unable to make it. Nobody called or emailed us. The woman apologized and gave us a $50 credit for future use if we decided to go with Empire.
Rescheduled for the following Tuesday. On Tuesday we actually did get a call about five minutes before the appointment window saying that they were not coming and that something happened to the sales rep that was coming. Reluctantly we scheduled a third appointment for today. They did not show again. No call either. I consider this to be very unprofessional. Sorry Empire, you have lost our business.
Updated on 9/15/2018: Installers showed and could barely speak English. I was unable to communicate properly with them. They didn’t explain anything that they were doing. They rolled out my brand new carpet in my dirt driveway (where my dog uses the bathroom) in order to cut it. Upon moving my furniture they damaged my kitchen floor in two places. When I told one of the men he just looked at me and walked away. They left my electric heaters propped up against the walls instead of reattaching back to the walls. They didn’t have the correct tools with them to take off my closet and bedroom doors. I had to call a different contractor to come and take them off. Also had to have him come back after they left to reattach the electric heaters back on the walls.
Someone from Empire called to see how the installation was going. I told them what happened and they said a manager would call me back within 48 hours. The next day a woman named Candis called and left a message to call her back. We did only an hour after she left the message. No answer, left message. Called back two other times throughout the day, no answer. Called the next day, no answer left message. Filled out a survey two days later that they emailed me. Someone called only two hours later and recorded my issues and again I was told that a manager would call me asap. That never happened.
Now it’s over a week since the installation and I still have yet to talk to a manager about the damage done to my kitchen floor. I feel like because I paid in full at the time of installation, Empire no longer cares about the situation. Not a good way to do business. That being said we did get a great deal on our carpet. It’s very nice and we do like it. I hate to complain but what’s fair is fair.

And so, between the two of us, we picked out what it was that we wanted and she came over and took a look at the job. She asked me if I was happy and I told her I am. She had a bedroom that she needed to have done and so, she made an appointment, and they came out, and she had hers put in.

Recently, Empire Today installed carpet in my family room, two bedrooms and bathroom. Their workers and their salesman were very good. However, I have a couple of ridges in my kitchen though that I’m not too happy about. I can see a line from the top. Still, other than that, the work has been fine. I was happy with Empire's service, so I stuck with them and they have proven to be satisfactory. I have already mentioned them to friends. I would definitely recommend this company.

We had carpet installed in two bedrooms, the office, the living room and dining room, and we like it. I compared Empire to two other people that were in town and they came under like $1,200 cheaper than the other two. They also got it done quicker. However, the salesman should have mentioned that if we got the thickest padding, we would have trouble shutting our doors. Other than that, everything went great and it was smooth sailing. The guys were nice, kind, considerate and perfect gentlemen. I have a bad back and anything I asked them to do, they did it. They had no problem moving stuff. They did the work and didn't leave a mess behind. It was amazing. They even came back and made an adjustment on the closet door where at least I could get it open. I'd recommend Empire. I had some questions and problems but they were right on it. They were willing to get out right away and resolve any issues.

I liked how Empire Today came in and professionally laid the carpet. It's amazing that you wonder how they were gonna move that big piece of floor and they knew exactly what they were doing. Also, they were very nice to deal with. I had one incident where they forgot to plug in the thing for the telephone. It was a little man that reached his hand around and he just plugged it right in. They came back and it was a quick fix.
I had the carpet installed in my family room and the stairways in the upstairs hallway and I was just very pleased with how Empire did the work. It looks wonderful. I like that the flooring is not warm like the other carpet was and it feels very good under your bare feet. It is very good quality and it was in my price range. My husband was a PhD chemist and he did a lot of work with fiber and machinery. He definitely would have been very happy with it. I would recommend Empire Today to anyone and I would definitely use them again.

I am writing about a matter involving the cancellation of an order placed on or about April 10, 2018. I did cancel this order after the 7 day period, but I did expected a full refund of the deposit. When the salesman came to my home, I decided on some carpet and agreed to the price. The salesman commenced typing on his phone to complete the sale. I wrote the deposit check, and the next day, documents arrived at my home from Luna by FedEx. At no time did I speak with anyone other than the salesman. At no time did I sign ANYTHING. At no time did he explain the 15% penalty for late cancellation, no any other conditions of contract. I was taken aback when I received a check for less than half of my deposit as my refund. I believe that your company just takes advantage of older adults. NEVER DO BUSINESS THIS SHAM COMPANY.
Ella, thanks for contacting us. We want to make this right for you. If you send us your contact info at customersupport@empiretoday.com, we’ll make sure to look into this right away.

We scheduled the install with our sales rep and set up financing. We were told on the day of the install they'd ask for COD (cash on delivery) but we should just show them the paperwork stating we are financing and we will be good to go. Sure enough, the installer asked for COD and we showed him the paperwork, however, when he called it in Empire had no record of our financing and downpayment and Empire said we owed more than we had signed off on. I sat on hold with customer service for 40 minutes until it was resolved.
The installer and his crew could not start working until they confirmed we had payment taken care of. The customer service rep took care of the issue about 50 minutes later and the install team was able to begin. Because of the delay the installer had to come back a second day to finish his work. This was in no way the fault of the installer or the customer service reps but the fault of Empire and their records. In fact, the installer was very knowledgeable and helped me make a few decisions based on his experience. The CSR was very calm, cool and collected while being very apologetic because I can assure you I was very frustrated. I suggest Empire work on their filing and documentation.
Lisa, we're sorry to hear this. We'll be in touch with you soon to discuss your concerns.
