I like Empire and the carpet that they put in. I had them do my living room and my den. The people who installed were fabulous, and I would have them back again. But I had a bit of a problem with the man who took the measurements. He took the wrong measurements. The installers had a confusion then because they didn’t have enough material. They had to come back another day, and I had to keep calling them. It was crazy. But other than that, everything’s all right.

When Empire came here to put the flooring in all three bedrooms, I gave them a check deal that they took over the phone and then somehow or another, they took it out again through the bank. I don’t see how they double-dipped on me because they only had one check they took the money out of. Empire sent me a check back, but I don’t like being hit twice for one job and I have to talk to the bank. Other than that, I’m satisfied. They moved around some of the heavier stuff that needed to be moved and they got the job done in one day, which was great. The workers did a good job on everything and I could do the experience again. I’d also recommend them to anybody.

We had Empire Today install vinyl planking and carpet in our home. I considered another company who was comparable in price, but they couldn’t do it as quickly as we needed. We used Empire instead. The installers were good. We had a problem with the installation not taking place when it was supposed to take place for both the carpet and the planking because there were different crews. But Empire gave us the money back because they weren’t able to make their original date. When they got the flooring in, everything turned out really nice.

Updated on 12/17/2018: You just sent an email that says this was resolved by the company, well that is news to me. No one has contacted us since the initial one. I wrote again and was told I would be contacted and nothing has happened since then.
Original Review: I am confused over the fact that when I signed the agreement, I was told it would be a lifetime warranty. It has been about 16 months and I called as the molding is popping out of the wall. They did not use enough nails and the nails were not long enough. The floors are great but the molding is not holding. I called today and they said it is only good for a year and that we would have to pay to have the molding fixed. I said no, as we paid great money for this and somehow we will fix it ourselves. My neighbor called them today who is having her floors done to make sure it is lifetime. They contacted her immediately and said YES. She then called and told them about us and funny how they have not contacted her back again. I will go with another company now that we need the kitchen and office done.

I purchased carpet & vinyl flooring and the products are amazing. Completely satisfied. I am not at all satisfied with the carpet installers and I gave that information verbally over the phone when I was contacted by a customer service rep, there was absolutely no follow up on my very valid complaint. The vinyl flooring installers were fantastic in every way. I would appreciate someone follow up directly with me regarding the carpet installers used in my home.

Buyer beware! On December 1, 2018 I had Empire Today come to my home to show me laminate flooring options and to take measurements. The sales associate was very friendly and even showed me that he was offering 57% off, which at 58% off his tablet rejected the offer. He told me that this was the best deal he could offer. He continued to explain how the floor I chose was a popular selection and was something they had in stock and could install as soon as the next day or two. Due to my schedule, I requested installation on the 11th and 12th (about 1.5 weeks later). He scheduled it for me and accepted a 10% deposit. I was pleased with the sale.
On December 7th, Empire Today confirmed my appointment on the 11th. On December 8th, Empire Today confirmed my appointment for the 12th. On December 10th, Empire Today sent me a reminder for appointment on the 11th. I removed all wall items, fragile items, and easily moveable furniture to the garage. At approximately 08:30 AM on December 11th, I received a call from the sales associate advising that the product is not available and therefore will not be installing today or tomorrow. He advised there was a shipping issue and they need to await arrival as they only had 12 boxes available (not enough for my entire project). I was very displeased as there was plenty of time for Empire Today to ensure product was available and despite the three reminders of my upcoming appointment, they waited until the day of to cancel.
I asked the sales associate to use the 12 boxes to either do my upstairs hallway or stairs. He refused saying they like to do the whole project at one time. I advised I had taken the day off and was available to let them do the smaller portion of the project and reschedule the remainder portion. He refused saying he can’t do that, but would contact his manager and see what they can do. He advised he would call back shortly with an update. As of this posting at 02:00 PM, I have not received any call. I have called the 1-800 number and cancelled the install. I have also received my deposit back. I read several reviews about how Empire Today is lacking on install and it turns out to be true.
Thankfully I have had another company come out today while I was off to take measurements and allowed me to select a new floor (one I like better too). Hopefully install goes better with them. Oh and that 57% off...the new company's standard price was only $200 more without discounts. So either Empire Today is overpriced or there really wasn’t a deal.
Tyler, we sincerely apologize for your experience and understand that your order has been cancelled. You concerns are important to us, and we'll be reviewing this matter further, thank you.

This was a huge disappointment. We were convinced by the sales rep that this would be such a great deal and the flooring is amazing. Needless to say this could not be further from the truth. I would NEVER use these people again. Service and customer service is significantly lacking! The contractor came at 3:30 to do a 10x10 room and did not leave our home until after 10:00 p.m. The edging did not match up and was cut in multiple sections. There were places where there was no edging at all.
The contractor blamed us not looking at it before he completed it. He's the contractor. He should know, that's why we hired what we thought was a professional. Contacted customer service and was told to call the sales rep. Sales rep was no help, an appointment was scheduled to fix the problem without our knowledge and still in the process of fixing and fighting this thing out. These people are horrible!!! Be warned. Stay away if you don't want cheap quality and headaches.
Michelle, we're sorry to hear that you feel this way. Please email your contact information to customersupport@empire-today.com for further assistance, thank you.

I had Empire Today install carpets in seven rooms, a hallway and stairs. My neighbor recommended them, so I hired them base on her experience. Big mistake! She obviously had different installers. When the installers arrived, they told me that all of my dressers needed to be emptied of clothing and they did not move heavy furniture (contrary to my contract). That was only the beginning of a nightmare. They broke off a handle on a piece of furniture (who picks up furniture by a handle?) I am missing a piece of baseboard which I need to get repaired. I have to repair molding around the bathroom door that has deep gouges in it. They scratched an expensive dresser. I stored some luggage shoes and electronics on the floor in my newly renovated bathrooms. The luggage was thrown on the vanity, shoes and electronics were thrown in the bathtub and shoes on the shoe racks were in the shower.
The furniture was not moved back into place properly. I cannot even describe what my house looked like when they left. I keep finding new things that have been damaged. They kept leaving the door wide open on a 30 degree day while they were working inside. I lowered the heat and then they told me that it should be 75 degrees in the house to install carpet. They certainly are not too smart to think that the house would ever heat to 75 with the doors wide open. At the end of the day, I just wanted them out of my house. They were the most unprofessional installers I have ever had. I would not recommend Empire to anyone!
Joanne, thank you for making us aware of your concerns. We take your concerns very seriously, and we'll be in touch with you shortly to make things right, thank you.

After only a few months, this carpet began to warp and bulge. Empire is useless when it comes to install warranty and that sort of thing, and so for few hundred dollars (on top of the $3,500 for the carpet and install), we had it stretched by another company and they got more than three inches and had to recut all of the seams. The carpet looks better, but is pretty messed up after only a couple years of use with no pets or smokers in the house. We should have listened to others warning that Empire is not worth it! NOT WORTH THE SAVINGS - GO WHOLESALE AND SPEND A BIT MORE IF YOU HAVE TO - EMPIRE IS NOT A GOOD CHOICE!

We found out that Empire could come up here to the high desert and so we went with them. We had them install vinyl flooring in the living room, small dining room and one bedroom of our home and we had it done quickly. The rep who initially came was very helpful and our interaction went well. He gave us the estimate then the installation team laid the floor down the following day. It took them about seven hours to do all of it and they were very good. The finished result looks very nice. Also, it was priced appropriately. I would tell a friend to order from Empire Today.

I had Empire Today put in carpet about 20 years ago and they were good. I called them again and they installed carpet in the basement. They were here for four hours and they cleaned up when it was done. The carpeting is clean and it looks really great. It made all the furniture look even better. I’ve only had it for maybe two weeks and it’s very nice. The kids love it and it was just so painless. Then, I’ve got calls from the company in California as well as from the woman who came to take my order and to show me the samples. Everyone has been checking me to see if everything is good, and it is.

I saw Empire Today's commercial on TV and it said that I could have it done before the Holidays which was what I needed. I got the carpet installed in the living room and one bedroom. They had to take down the door in the bedroom and they told me that it was too high and they couldn’t put it back up. So I had to get someone to put the door back up. I wasn’t happy about that. But the workers were very polite. They were able to finish the installation on the same day. Also, the carpet is really nice and thick so I was satisfied with that and with the cost, too. I would recommend Empire Today and tell others that the workers were professional and they came and moved everything.

Empire has done work for me before. Seven years ago, they put in hardwood floors in the foyer, as well as my kitchen and bathroom. I was very pleased with that. Since we've been in this house and the carpet was long overdue, I didn’t look around with anyone else when I was searching for new carpets. I trusted Empire, its service and also its price. The guys who came by and did the carpet on my stairway, hallway, three bedrooms, as well as bonus room were very, very good. They also did the carpet in the closet. In addition, they assisted me with a couple things that I wasn’t anticipating that they were gonna have to do 'cause my dad wasn’t able to get my bed brought down. Although one of the guys' English wasn’t that good, it was okay 'cause the main guy communicated with him. Right now, I'm loving the carpet. It's making my house bigger. I would recommend Empire to anyone.

We had engineered hardwood floors installed in three bedrooms of our home on 11/17/18. This was a reschedule due to me changing the previously selected flooring. After I changed the flooring, I realized the sales consultant did not go over new trim with me, so I called him the following day and he assured me he chose the trim to match the flooring. When nearing completion the installers noticed the trim that was brought to our home did not match the flooring that was laid. They contacted the foreman, Renee, who said this is not an issue and would be taken care of promptly.
Fast forward to today, three weeks later, and we are still waiting on the trim work to be completed. I’ve reached out to Renee many times and am always told he has informed whoever and they will be calling me, over and over again same story. My husband recently reached out to customer service and was told this was being escalated and we should receive a call back that day, but no later than the following yet still no callback. The floor has areas that fold, so the quality wasn’t even great. This is work that has been paid in full, yet still incomplete and is not worth the $7000 paid.

I had to change my date due to being out of town, so I changed it to Tuesday, December 4th, received confirmation text from sales manager that it was taken care of. I took the day off work and was up at 4:30 to move all the furniture. I called customer service around 10:00 am to find out what time they would be here and I was then informed that they had my installation date set for Saturday, December 14th. I informed them of my text with the sales rep and they apologized and told me there was nothing they could do for me for that day, that they could change the installation date to the following Monday.
I informed them that I was not taking another day off of work for their mistake, so they said they could install on Saturday, Dec 8th. I told them it would have to be in the morning as we had work Christmas party that night, so they set me up for morning installation. As I am writing this it is now 1:30 pm and I still have no carpet and when I called customer service, they told me the person who was to originally install my carpet was no longer with the company so they were working to get another crew for me. When Empire Today had a sale, it was at half-price and I wanted to make sure I had enough money to be able to do all the rooms in our house. I called them and they sold us the wood floors. We had them install the flooring in the living room, dining room, kitchen, den and hall in our home. Empire did all the good job. I like all the new flooring but the installers did not glue them down. They put some kind of plastic at the bottom and put the floor on it. And when we walked on it, there was a lot of squeaking throughout the floor. I was told to call them if I hear any squeaking. The rep told us that the squeaking will stop which means it is settling. We took her word that they were gonna put a pad at the bottom and put the flooring on top of the pad. I waited three weeks to make sure then I called them back.
They told us that the only way they could fix it is by tearing all the floors again and gluing them down. I fixed the house up and put all my furniture back when I noticed all the squeaking still going on. My husband does not want to go through all the mess again because we are older and we had a hard time trying to put everything away. What we had was a big carpet and if they have to take the molding out again, we would have to do everything again and we are not able to take it anymore. So, we just said to forget about it.

DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE. First off, they canceled my estimate twice the last minute. When scheduling the appointment for the third time I asked if they would guarantee the appointment considering I`d switched my schedule around and waited for them only to cancel 2 hours into the time they we're supposed to be at my home. The lady told me they could not guarantee the appointment because they were "very busy". All I can do is laugh at that statement, literally makes zero sense. Finally, a very nice gentleman actually showed up to the third apt. and I completed the purchase.
Install day is a 12-hour window so I had to take the day off work - they also give no phone call to let me know when they'd arrive, just a knock on my door. Install day 2 men show up one who speaks absolutely ZERO English and another limited to none. I paid to have my furniture moved in my contract -- the men call their boss and he explains to me that my furniture is heavy and need to go to Home Depot and get slides to move it. They also explain they did not bring enough carpet and can only complete one room today even though they are hired and paid to do the stairs as well.
The men then went to "home deport" and never came back. I called and they picked up and hung up on me... I then called the company and they told me that the workers drove home which was 2 hours away and would not be coming back. They would now like me to reschedule and that's the "best they can do for me". DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. THEY ARE A SAD EXCUSE FOR A BUSINESS.

We went with Empire Today because we like the way the Salesperson spent time with us explaining the different carpeting choices and warranties that were available to us. Two days before the carpet was supposed to be installed, we got a call asking us if we could reschedule. We declined as we had already scheduled the day off of work. The day before the installation, they called again to say that they didn't have the carpet we ordered in stock (why they didn't tell us that the previous day, I don't know). The Salesperson came back out and we selected another carpet that was in stock (supposedly), but the day before the second installation date, they called to say they didn't have enough of the new carpet we choose to complete the room. So again the Sales person came back out and we again selected a third choice and scheduled another date.
The day of the installation, the installers came out, we reviewed the carpet to make sure it was the correct one, but it wasn't, because the size of our room, they have to piece the carpet together and they had two different style/color of carpet and the bigger piece wasn't the correct dimensions, so again it was wrong. Ok, one more chance, the Salesperson said the order was corrected and would be installed yesterday. Again the installers came out with the wrong carpet. 4 times is not a charm and we are not happy with Empire Today at this point. One good point though, we also had our bathroom floor redone on this same transaction, and that worked out just fine.

Carpet was paid for and order and it was in stock at the time of purchase. Installation was confirmed on a Friday prior to installation. One hour after the day the installation was scheduled Empire calls and canceled the installation due to carpet out of stock. Phone calls were made with no return calls. We had our home furniture scheduled to be done two days after the carpet. Paid $300.00 for the movers to assemble the furniture. Empire said it’s my responsibility to move the item out of the room, keep in mind the carpet was to be installed 2 days prior. On top of that I had a contractor scheduled to install my home automation rack in a room requiring carpet, that had to be rescheduled and cost me $500.00.
This business is the worst and I will never purchase anything from them again. They are not willing to reimburse me for the additional expenses acquired due to inability to follow a contract that was set up and confirmed to install carpet on the scheduled day. Then I contemplated canceling the order and they informed me I would not receive my cash down payment back summing up to me eating a total of $1,100.00 due to poor management skills and failure to make things right. The address for this complaint is 1146 Meadow Path Manteno IL 60950. I put this so the company knows where the complaint came from.

In my bathrooms and in my kitchen where my kitchen starts, I have the doorstop and I can’t see up under the doors. From my bedroom doors, there isn't one. Overall, I’m very happy with the product. It's easy to clean too.

This has been by far the worst experience ever. I was promised a quick installation but instead it took almost 6 weeks. All their constant delays and false promises cost me more than the cost of the carpet in paying my property manager for her time dealing with this fiasco. My tenant had to live in bad condition. The company negligent of delaying the install by taking wrong measurements as well as promising a product that is not in stock. They took wrong measurements, came to install with not enough carpet. Then we had to wait a few more weeks (not days) for the new carpet. Once it finally came in, they sent 1 guy to install and it took him about 8 hours to install 1 room. That is purely a false advertisement and a breach of contract and when I contacted Empire they offered me an insulting refund of $100. I’ve asked to speak with a manager and here we are 3 months later and I didn’t even get a call back. This is not a good way to conduct business.

I went to Lowe’s and they were 12 weeks out. There was no way we’re gonna wait for 12 weeks so we looked at the feedback online, the quality, the price and the efficiency of the project. Empire Today matched me whatever price Lowe’s gave me and we decided to go with them. The estimator came to my house, gave me an estimate and was given the go ahead the next day. And then, the following week, they came in and installed laminate in the whole house. However, they made a dent on it when they were moving furniture. When my wife found out, I called Empire and they came and fixed it. They took care of it on the spot. I like the way the laminate flooring looks. It doesn’t leave prints when you walk barefoot and it's very, very easy to clean. We just mop it.

I called Empire for a competitive quote, seen their commercials. Easy online process, salesman showed up next day. Decided to give them a call, set appointment for installation of carpet, they called to confirm, day of install they were a no show. I called to find out what happened? They were out of stock? “How did this happen,” I asked? How long will it take? Response was 10 days or I can sell you something different. The old bait and switch routine. Salesman could not cancel, worthless... Spent over 30 minutes on hold with the National hotline. Horrible Experience. Would NEVER recommend. Bunch of subcontractor under a umbrella that could not deliver on minimum expectations. WORTHLESS.

I have a living room carpet put in by Empire Today. Initially, I looked around for other companies, but I really didn’t fully consider getting the carpet until I looked at Empire. Every other place that I wanted to look for stuff doesn't do financing. Then, Empire said they do financing over the phone when I called to make the appointment. My grandmother got financed for cheap, too, compared to what some of the other companies were wanting.
I liked how professional the installers were. When the appointment had changed, they called beforehand and gave us enough time to let us know that they were not coming until a later time. I also liked how timely they got here. But the thing I really liked was how seamless they did the doorways. Usually, you have to have the metal strips in between doorways, but I don’t have to have those. The carpet installers folded the carpet over and stapled it down in such a way that it doesn’t need that. The only thing that I’m finding is that since I’ve gotten the carpet, I noticed that a lot of times there are little bits of carpet fibers I’m having to vacuum up all the time. It also shows up every little speck because of the carpet I picked. But, that is okay. Empire Today almost completely met my expectations.

The salesman came out and did a great job "selling". Too bad he was full of it! First part was the financing, he quoted me $27000, to which I agreed. I then filled out the finance application which was only approved to 19k. That's when he told me that 19k was the most the finance company would lend and the rest would have to be cash or have my wife apply separately. SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME THAT IN ADVANCE. Long story short, the price miraculously dropped $1500... Moving on, he drew up the contract that stated that ALL of the old flooring would be removed and disposed of, the installation would start the following day at 9 and would be finished by mid day on Sunday. At 11:30 on Saturday the installers showed up and told my wife they would not finish Sunday as they do not work Sundays. Ok, strike two on the salesman but let's keep going.
I was going out of town on a business trip and left with confidence in the installer (who were great guys). The project was completed on Tuesday and I got home that evening. The old floors were not removed, the new floors were simply installed right over the top. The installers told my wife that it was better that way and that it would be a benefit if we ever sold our house?! I called Empire to find out what the deal is and why I was being charged for removal and disposal if it didn't occur. Michelle in customer service stated that they would come back out and remove the old flooring, but could not remove the tile floor in the bathrooms or laundry room (even though the contract clearly stated they would). I was then told they would actually remove it but then I would have to hire a separate contractor to come out to prep and level those portions of the floor.
I let her know that would not happen and if I had been told that in the beginning I would have never agreed. I then told her that I would be utilizing the cancellation agreement portion of the contract, as I was within the time frame (November 14th was the cancel by date) and they could come get their material. The agreement states you can cancel within 3 business days "without penalty or obligation". Michelle stated that I could cancel but Empire was entitled to come retrieve all of their material. I agreed with her, stated she could come get it, but Empire would need to put my house back to the condition it was in, including repairing the 16 entryway door frames and custom molding surrounds that were cut in order to fit the new floors (I guess they were cut because they wouldn't fit since the old floors weren't removed as required).
Michelle said she didn't agree to that. She ended up offering me a reduction of around 7K, said she would talk to her manager and would be calling me back. NOT TRUSTING A WORD THESE PEOPLE SAY, I went ahead and processed the cancellation agreement, sent a copy to their legal department as required (FedEx with signature required), I also emailed a copy to the salesman and called and verbally notified a customer service rep. As expected I never heard another word from Michelle, I have called multiple times with no success. The last 4 calls I have been told that they were unable to reach Michelle or her manager Paul, but a message was left and one of them would call me back the next day... You guessed it. NO ONE has ever called me back.
However, they have processed the financing portion to the tune of 19k, which is not an amount referenced anywhere in the contract or any other paperwork. Now I have a new floor, that you can still see the old floor underneath in one part. I have a new floor that has assumed all of the issues of the old floor (warps, creaking, cracking). A new floor that I have to keep hammering down with a rubber mallet because portions keep popping up, and a new floor that makes popping noises when you walk over the transitions from wood to tile!!
I have notified the finance company of the issues and the cancellation agreement. I have sent them a copy of the entire contract, cancellation agreement and my MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS to find a resolution. I believe that Empire Today simply tried to avoid me long enough and act as if they were going to make things right, hoping it would just go away... that's not in my nature.
Jason, thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. This is not the experience that we wish for our customers, and we'll be in touch with you shortly to start working on a resolution.

On November 21, 2018, I had an in-home quote to lay LVT in my kitchen and master bath, LVP in my family room and indoor-outdoor carpet on my patio. The quote came in at $5378.91, which I thought was a little high, so I got a couple more quotes from other companies which came in a little lower. I did, however, give them a deposit of 10%, which was $538.52 to hold the sale price that I was quoted. When I called to cancel my contract with Empire Today and get a refund, within the three day limit, they told me they would lower the price to $4498 total and got me financing for $3000 of that, leaving a balance of $1498 minus my deposit of $538.52, with a balance of $959.48 to be paid to the installer after installation. I agreed to this, and an installation date of Thursday, November 29th was set with Thursday, Friday and Saturday being the installation days.
I was told that the installer would contact me the day of the installation with an arrival time. He called me at 2:30 pm to say he was on his way. Then he didn't show up until 5 pm to start the job, working until about 9:00 pm demoing the kitchen floor and moving furniture. When he left, he said he would return at about 8-8:30 am the next day. He finally showed up at 10:00 am the next day and finished about half of the kitchen floor and removed old carpet from the family room floor and prepped it. During that time, the contractor left the job several times and once for several hours leaving one man to do the work. They were to return the next day at about 8:30.
They showed up at about 10:00 am. on Saturday and finished most of the kitchen except for the trim work and most of the living room except for trim. Again, the contractor left the job several times to do other things leaving only one man to do the work. They were to return on Sunday about 9:00 am. They showed up at 10:30 am on Sunday and worked on the trim in both rooms as well as doing the master bath. I had to point out that they had not undercut the woodwork at the doorways to put the tiles under the woodwork. They pulled up the tiles and re-did them properly. I also told them that the quarter-round that they were using to trim the flooring should have beveled edges at the termination points and not just stubbed off leaving an unsightly end. They reluctantly pulled up the pieces and reshaped them properly, finishing the living room, master bath and most of the kitchen.
They demoed the patio and prepped it for carpet, but the carpet that was sent was short by 1.5 feet and damaged on one end, so it had to be reordered, and I shall have to wait for that installation as well as the finishing of the kitchen floor trim work. Before the installer left on Sunday, he said I needed to take care of the balance due, which according to his paperwork was $1598.72. His figures did not match the ones given to me, which I have stated above, so we called customer service and got someone named Gabriel on the line. Gabriel was very intent on rattling of numbers at me like some robot, and his bottom line was that I owed $1040.20.
When I told him that his numbers were not matching mine, he got very belligerent with me, and when I tried to explain the numbers that I had and why they were lower, he could be heard deeply sighing in the background while I was talking. Even the installer who was listening to the conversation over the phone speaker, commented on that. Since he refused to listen to me or come to an agreement, he finally said he would turn it over to someone else who would contact me within a few days.
On Monday morning someone called me, once again going over the numbers that didn't match and coming up with yet again different figure due of $994.76. I tried to explain the numbers that I had and mine only came to $959.48, as explained above. No, this person could not be convinced either and I finally gave up the fight and paid the $994.76. It seems to me that Empire Today has good products at reasonable prices, but with customer service like this you are not going to get many satisfied customers nor good referrals. I am EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED with how all this was handled... And I still don't have the completed job!

I contacted your service department and approx a year later they fixed the loose grout. After about 8 months the same grout broke loose again, I contacted cust svc & an inspector Floyd ** came out and inspected. He came back and offered to fix the warranty work for $300. I contested and said work was never done correctly.
I contact him again by phone and email and have not heard back? The tiles are starting to crack in the area the grout has come loose again. The floor is moving, the kitchen is on a subfloor and should have been back boarded during the installation to prevent the movement. In short, a flawed installation. Updated on 12/05/2018: Monday Dec 3rd an Inspector from the Baltimore area named John came and inspected the floor, he determined that the floor does need to be replaced, he detected no moisture in the area that buckled. We answered all John's questions about how we care for the floor and showed him the supplies we use. We told John that we had been informed by Charles in the local Baltimore office that our current flooring has been discontinued, John told us that Empire is a nationwide company and there is a chance that an Empire warehouse somewhere in the United States may have a few boxes still on hand which is all that is needed for the repair.
When Charles contacted me on November 30th he ONLY wanted to discuss replacing the entire floor with an upgrade which would cost $1600 more, I don't have any confidence that Charles is making an honest attempt to locate a few boxes of our current flooring. When I discussed with Charles of replacing the flooring with something of comparable value to what we currently have he said Empire did not have that option, I find this hard to believe, I understand that Empire discontinued our current flooring and may not be able to find any boxes on hand but I do not believe that Empire's only option is an upgrade. Charles was adamant that upgrading for $1600 was the only option which I don't find honest.
Whatever the outcome Empire needs fix our floor, whether it be a partial fix with the current model or replace the entire floor with a new model at no additional cost. I have been contacting Empire about this issue since September, when I have called customer service I have been told that Charles has been trying to reach me, this is not true, I have only spoken to him on Nov 30th and either it was him I spoke with on Nov 5th or another person in the office. I have no confidence in Charles, I don't believe he has been honest and don't trust that he is doing his best to resolve the problem. The inspector John was very knowledgeable and interested in solving our problem. We expect to hear from someone by Friday Dec 8th as to when we can expect our flooring to be fixed or replaced. We will continue to post negative reviews on social media and with the BBB until this is resolved.
Original Review: Had new laminate flooring throughout the kitchen, dining and lounge and within 3 months it buckled. When contacting Empire we got no calls back. Eventually we call head office. They tell us originally they don't have the color flooring anymore to fix it. Then they want another 1600 to "upgrade" to another type of flooring to fix the buckle. They then inform us it's because we don't have a dehumidifier which is BS. We shouldn't need a dehumidifier to have a laminate floor. I would never use Empire again and would not advise anyone else to.

The salesman for Empire Today, Carl, was really nice. We discussed our families and children and stuff. The whole crowd came at one time and by 3 o'clock, they were all done. The guys that put the carpet in were so nice. They opened doors for me and I couldn't believe how they kept me right there on site with them. They all did fantastically. I had my stuff installed that day and after it was all over with, I went to the bank and got $500 cash and handed it to Carl in a parking lot. The flooring is in my rental and the people over there love it. I've owned the house since 1987 and It was the second time I bought carpet from Empire Today. I also love it and I would have it over here if I could afford it more. I would recommend Empire Today.

Updated on 12/20/2018: My original review was written on Nov 29. It is now Dec 20 and I still am being lied to by Empire and given a runaround about my window treatment. Empire has a new installation manager Steven ** who I thought was my answer to getting results but it turns out he is no different than anyone else I have dealt with. I have been dealing with this nightmare since Empire took my $1000.00 window treatment to be repaired on Oct. 30. It has been one excuse after another and no return phone calls. Buyers BEWARE and STAY AWAY FROM EMPIRE. They are DISHONEST and DISREPUTABLE.
Original Review: I had a window treatment done by Empire a few years back. It was a bamboo type roll up shade but they put a thin backing for privacy which I wanted. The window was my front room. It is a larger center window with 2 smaller side windows - nothing huge - but Empire charged me $1000.00. Recently the backing on the middle window was tearing so I called Empire. On Oct 30 a repairman came out but couldn't fix it so it had to be taken to the shop. I paid $60.00 for this plus another $60.00 to be paid when it was returned which I was told would be in about 2 weeks.
It is now a month later and numerous calls have gotten me nowhere except a lot of "sorry" and promises of someone calling me back which doesn't happen. My emails received the same responses of "sorry". I have this paper shade they put up for me as a temporary but I don't have my window treatment or any answers from Empire. I want my window treatment back and want it back repaired. I have been more than patient during this ordeal but now it has become more than ridiculous and I don't know what to do anymore. Phone calls and emails do no good. I would NEVER recommend this HORRIBLE place to anyone. WORST experience. My advice if you want window treatments is to stay away from Empire and go anywhere else.

I used Empire Today to install carpets in my home last November. I like that they come out and allow you to look at things and discuss them. They are not just trying to push something on you. You get to take your time and look at the quality of the material and decide then which one would best fit your budget. And price-wise, I was pleased with them because in comparison, some of the other places were a little overboard. They try to double their measurements and use an excuse for that instead of being more precise with the measurements. With that, I hired Empire Today again to install vinyl flooring for the kitchen, hallway and bathroom. I love my new flooring and I’m about to get some vinyl flooring as well for my bathroom. I’ve been recommending Empire, too.

We had from Empire Today laminate flooring to the kitchen, living room and sunroom. And we love the product. We went with them because of the price and reputation. The salesperson came out on time, showed us several, different things we were interested in. We actually changed our minds midway after seeing how it looked on the floor. We were gonna do carpet, but we switched, and the salesperson was great.
I was very impressed with the representatives. They were very knowledgeable and it was not high-pressure with them. They definitely seemed to know what they were talking about. We really enjoyed the installer too. He was fabulous. He did a great job and worked like a dog. He hardly ever took a break and he was very clean, kept the area clean and picked up after himself. I'd highly recommend Empire. They're top-notch all the way.

A few years ago, a friend used Empire Today. I always remembered it until I needed something like that and I called them. I had them install a wood-looking flooring in the dining room and they did fine. However, I had some flooring that was coming in from the front door through the living room, but not in the main part of the living room. I tried to match it and this is darker. The rep and I could not find anything else closer. I just wish that it looked like a continuation. Still, the flooring is fine and it shows a few spots in it. It shows under the table a lot although it’s not a big thing. So far, the Empire Today flooring has worked fine for me. A lot of people like this flooring and they don’t seem to be bothered by it being a darker wood.

I have radiant heat, where the heat comes from the floor. You have to be careful how you’re putting the carpet down. You can’t puncture anything on the floor and you have to use a very thin padding. I went to Home Depot but that didn't work out. They didn’t have their own workers. The men who came here said they never heard of this type of heat. So that scared me a little and I canceled the deal.
Empire Today was recommended by a friend. I went to Empire and I'm glad I did. They have their own workers, which was better. They installed a carpet and a rug in one room and in the hallway. These people were experienced in doing that. They were nice and they even cleaned up. They knew what they were doing and I felt more at ease with it because I was afraid something could have happened to my heating system.
The flooring is great. The only drawback was that they told me I had to have a door shaved because the carpet is higher and it doesn't fit. The only thing was the carpet was thinner. But that was in the papers and was no surprise. They gave me a leaflet and told me that. Nevertheless, I would certainly recommend Empire Today.

We requested Empire the veneer flooring we had before however, they didn’t have it anymore. It was out of style after eight years. So, we had one that was similar to it and it was installed very quickly, from 7:30 in the morning till 2 o’clock. Two technicians came in with all their tools and the work was very well done. We would use Empire Today again if we have to.

I would like to explain my experience with Empire. From the sales point of view everything began well with fitting date arranged for 4 rooms. On the day of fitting I received a call to say that one part of the carpet was not available, so therefore I could proceed with the 2 other rooms or leave until other carpet is available. As I had already cleared the rooms, I preferred to have the carpets fitted that day. The fitting went well that day, no concerns. When trying to find out details of when the other part of my order would be fitted I was advised of a 2 week window. This was not what I wanted as I had planned the rooms all to be done before my daughters returned from college.
I called my sales rep Kevin **, and after explaining my dissatisfaction he returned to my home with other examples for me to choose from. Second part of carpet was scheduled for the Saturday 16th November. I had asked from the sales rep numerous times for a revised bill, and as yet still not received an itemized bill, to provide details of carpet and revised price. Additionally on the day I moved everything out of the room except certain pieces of larger furniture, which was included in my order. When the fitter arrived they said that they had been very busy, and when viewing rooms to be done said that they could not collapse beds. I said that this was not explained to me at time of sale and as my husband being away, sales rep assured that there was no problem. Fitters continued reluctance to dismantle beds x2, eventually finding the correct tool, they completed this task.
When it came to putting the beds together he explained that he would not be fitting them back together. I explained that as he had dismantled them he would know better how to put them together. He did so after I explained that I had paid for this service. He then informed me that he would not be tightening the screws! I could not believe what I was hearing, so I thanked him and said his farewell. A couple of minutes later a knock on the door and the fitter returned to tighten the screws! In conclusions – delayed carpet fitting, disgruntled fitters, numerous call to sales rep for request to see other samples and revised bill - still not received. All in all Sales rep promised top rate Customer Service – this failed as well as carpet fitter’s attitude on the day.
Joanne, this is not the experience that we wish for our customers, and we apologize for your experience. We'll be in touch with you shortly to learn more.

To say I wish it was possible to leave negative stars is an understatement. I've never been treated more poorly than I have been for the last six months by Empire Today (Kent, WA). I signed a contract on April 30th to have 350 sqft. of flooring installed. In the beginning of the process Empire was notified that this was a rental property & the importance of getting it done in a timely manner.
Due to Sales Representative Douglas **, Customer Service Manager Ashley **, General Managers James ** & Michael ** negligence my flooring wasn't completely installed until October 8th. I was ignored throughout this whole ordeal by these representatives & Empire in general. These four individuals took zero responsibility & tried to pin the blame on me for a 2-3 day job taking 5 months to be fully completed. They weren't taking initiative in properly scheduling installation dates, and when they did schedule dates the contractors weren't showing up. Empire failed to notify me of these occurrences & didn't reschedule contractors. It took weeks for me to get a hold of Ashley ** through emails, texts & phone calls after every incident.
Given that General Manager Michael ** & Ashley ** weren't willing to take full responsibility for a 2-3 day job turning into 5 months, I then decided to reach out to headquarters. I provided Bill **, Senior Customer Service Manager, with a detailed 5 page letter as well as Resolution Letter, explaining the rental loss of over $9,000 due to their negligence. I expressed that I was willing to settle this matter outside of court if Empire was willing to waive the cost of the flooring, $5777.74 and keep the warranty intact.
During my contact with Bill **, It appeared as though he wasn't fully reading the detailed documents regarding my horrible experience the previous 5 months with Empire. Instead, like the rest of Empire's Representatives/Management he put the blame on me. He then made a lowball offer that I declined & then told me upon checking with his Regional Director that they weren't willing to go higher or meet my requests. Though I will continue with this matter in court, this message is to advise others to stay away from Empire, so as to not be in this predicament because Empire will not give two ** about you or take responsibility for their employees' actions.

Horrible customer service. Scheduled a rug installation on Friday Nov. 9, 2018 for installation on Thursday Nov. 15, 2018. They do not give a time that installation takes place, but state that they will call the morning of to give an estimated time. On Thursday Nov 15, 2018 at 0906 I was left a message that they were unable to make the appointment that day and to please call and reschedule. They left a call back number which my husband and I attempted to call multiple times that day and the next, then I get an e-mail saying that they rescheduled our installation for Tuesday Nov. 20, 2018. When we attempted to call to find out 1) who authorized that appointment and 2) to reschedule seeing as both my husband and I work on Tuesdays and one of us want to be present to verify the product, we did not get a callback. Finally, on Saturday Nov. 17, 2018, we got a hold of them and rescheduled for Saturday Nov. 24, 2018.
Once again, we moved all the furniture out of the rooms and waited. By 1000 no call from them. When I called customer service, the lady I talked to told me that they rescheduled for Tuesday Nov. 27, 2018. When I asked who authorized this change without talking to us, the clients, she said it was the managers. She also said that they attempted to call to verify the appointment on multiple occasions; they did not. When I told her as much, she basically made me out to be lying.
I said I wanted one of two things, either a discount for their lack of ability to keep appointments and them move all the furniture out of the rooms free of charge when they do come to install the rugs or all of my money that I've paid them back. Her response was that she could request a discount but they would charge me for any furniture moving on their end. I told her that we have moved the furniture out of the rooms not once but twice now and that we will NOT be moving it out and back in again a third time. I requested to talk with the manager.
The manager saw that now two appointments were rescheduled on their end and it was documented that they attempted to call me to verify this appointment. They read my number off to me correctly, but my call log shows no calls came from them in well over a week. Now we are rescheduled for Friday Nov. 30, 2018 and I demanded morning and that they move all furniture at no cost to us. Now we'll see if they actually come this time. They pride themselves with next day installation, well it's more like a month. Being that I am 8 months pregnant, moving all the furniture out of the rooms and back in is no treat. I would NOT recommend Empire Today, LLC to anyone. They need to relook at their business plan and educate their employees on a proper business model. In my field of business, if I or any of my employees, handled business like this company does, we'd be out of a job and out of business.

He had a crew of Hispanics that brought 3 of their young children to work with them. They were running all over the facility pulling out toys in every room. It was CHAOS!!! Reinstalling toilets was a fiasco. His son was uninstalling a toilet and did not shut off the water supply. Water ruined a whole room and 40 feet of a hallway of freshly laid VCT. No one knew how to shut off the water supply to the bldg as the Owner of the crew left and did not tell anyone where the shut off was. Luckily I was still on site, otherwise the whole bldg would have been flooded.
They didn't want to spend 150 a toilet to reinstall the toilets (9) with new spuds and seals. The son took out the toilets and mixed up what rooms they came out of so the plumbing didn't match when they tried reinstalling. They ended up paying ROTO-Rooter 675 to fix one toilet at 11:30 pm and then had to pay the original plumber, who was going to charge 150 a toilet, approx 300 for each toilet. This is a daycare so they needed All toilets operational by Monday at 6 am. When we first called Empire it seemed like the salesman wanted to do good by us, told us the best thing for our place would be laminate floors because we have a pet. Within 6 months most of the seams across an entire installation area (dining room, living room, hallway) have striations (the seams are peaking). I have called Empire for over a month, they assigned a caseworker and every time he called I was in the middle of work. I would return his call within an hour and I would receive no response back for DAYS. I finally got somebody out after calling corporate multiple times, and the inspector told me he could tell it was not water damage from me, he could tell it was not pet urine. 2 weeks later I finally get a callback and I am told they have to replace the floors but AT MY COST. They claim it is not an installation problem, but it is locally caused damage.
I can tell you that I make sure we have an area carpet with a carpet pad (striations are happening under there as well), there are striations in parts of the floors we do not step on, we make sure not to leave any liquid on the floors, we make sure to read the product care and do not use liquid products on our floors, we just dry Swiffer them. I can not believe that we have a "30 year warranty" but Empire does not want to honor that because they claim we caused the damage. I am still paying for these floors and 6 months in it looks like we have had them for years. I am so disappointed that Empire will not stand by their warranty. And if they knew the floors would not be good in our area (over cement) they should have never suggested those floors. In addition, when they came to do the install, they brought the wrong flooring (the salesman did not submit the change form in time) but we decided to go ahead with it, but it was a different brand.

The salesperson was a very smooth talker. He was in and out of our home in less than an hour. Carpet was to be delivered in 2 weeks, which should have been today. We received a confirmation email yesterday that the installer would call in the morning to give a time window. We had not heard anything by 10am. We called our salesperson, who was absolutely no help. We called the main number and were informed there was NO INSTALLATION CREW!!! Now our living room is completely empty with carpet removed, which was part of our deal, and they have not returned calls or given us an answer as to when installation will be. Mind you it is Thanksgiving in 2 days. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Now we are just hopeful we can contact someone to cancel our order and start over with a better company.
Helen, we know your time is valuable and we sincerely apologize for this matter. We'll be following up with you shortly to discuss the completion of your installation.

I called two companies but I found that Empire's price was good, so I bought carpet from them. Also, I have a friend who did some work with them and it looked good. I had the carpet installed on the stairs from my living room to my basement and the guy who did it was very good. He came out on time and he did everything he was supposed to do. It took him at least five hours to finish it and I was satisfied. I would also recommend him. I like the carpet's texture and gray color. It has met my expectations perfectly well, too.

My father had three rooms of carpet and one room of tile put down by Empire Today. The price was a little more than a quote that we got at Lowe's, but we heard great things about Empire. The service for my dad was really good and he absolutely loves the work. The flooring is stylish and it looks much better than what we had. Empire Today did a great job, especially the tile guys. His tile guys were my tile guys and they were amazing. We had two different carpet people and his guys were really good too and friendly.

I set an appointment to get my stairs and one bedroom done, with an appointment time set between 9-11 AM. I had to take 2 1/2 hours off of work to make sure I was there to get my estimate and place my order. 3 minutes before 11 the 1-800 number called me to tell me that the sales rep had "car issues but the rep was able to resolve it" and that he will be there before 1. So they basically told me I had to request another 3 hours off of work. The reason I was called right before the 11 AM deadline, was to blame me for "cancelling" the estimate. I did no such thing.
The customer service rep offered $50 off, as it was the best he/she could do. I asked for a manager, was placed on hold and somehow the phone got disconnected. I waited until 1 PM and no one showed up!!! I spent a lot of money getting my other staircase and 2 other bedrooms done by Empire earlier this year, thinking the process would be just as seamless. I was clearly wrong. I am so irritated because I already began moving my bedroom furniture to accommodate the sales rep and installer, which would have been requested for the next day. This is beyond disappointing at this point. Empire doesn't care about one customer, which is why this constantly happens.
Tieler, thank you for making us aware of this matter. We apologize for your time and we'll be looking into your concerns right away.

I had a great sales representative come to my house. She sold me on customer satisfaction. She said in all of her years of working for Empire she'd never had a dissatisfied customer and if they were the owner would do everything with in his power to fix it. We set up my carpet install for 4 days later. I received a call the next day from someone saying there was a mix up and that date was not available. We chose another day. They came to install and I was pleased with the carpet but noticed several areas of base board damage. I called the customer service line and they told me someone would call me back the next business day.
A few days later I still had not received a phone call so I called again and left a message on the voicemail of the person they said was handling my claim. After 24 hours I still had not received a phone call so I called back and I got the person on the phone. She told me that she would like me to email her the pictures of my damaged baseboards but she said in the contract it states there may be baseboard damage so she doubts there is anything she can do.
A few days passed and I had not heard from her so I called and left a message on her voicemail asking her to call me. 10min later I received an email from her saying, "Unfortunately as stated in the contract baseboard damage is possible." I then reached out to the sales representative that had come out to my home. She asked me to text her pictures of the damage and said she would get back to me. I have not heard back from her. I just want to warn future customers because I don't understand how a company can come into your home damage your property and not fix it.

I've had a lot of compliments on it as well. However, the fellow that did the hallway going down the cellar unplugged my freezer and I lost everything inside it. He said he would reimburse me, but I never heard back from him. All I would have liked was $25 because it's a small freezer and a lot of it was frozen food. He called me and said that he was gonna send me a card from Big Y. I said okay, but I never heard for two weeks. It has never been resolved, but someone should repay me.

I live alone and I have lots of services I have to hire out. But I’m constantly being overcharged and I don’t like being misled. Empire Today has a good product but it’s much more expensive than people are led to believe. Three years ago, I had hardwood oak installed in the living room, the dining room and the hallway. It ended up costing about $6,000 but I went ahead and paid. Then recently, I needed carpet in two rooms. The kitchen also had linoleum that was about seven years old and it had a couple of cuts in it. So I was having laminate put on there. Empire Today's ad said, “Buy one room and get any other rooms for $50.” But you pay for labor, materials and padding. I was a little bothered when I saw that. If the $50 is not for labor, materials and padding, then what is it for? It was not a bargain. The commercial was misleading and I should have been more attentive.
I've worked with Empire Today twice now and it's been awfully expensive. I've spent $10,000 on a thousand-square-foot house in the last three years. Plus when I talked to the salesperson about the overcharge, he got defensive. He didn’t really want to discuss it and I understand that but it’s not right to mislead people. I would like the company to know that people know that that’s not right and that ultimately, that’s not gonna help them. I like Empire Today's product but I hope not to need any more floorings.

We bought Empire carpet 4 years ago. The salesman promised us a 20 year warranty. ONLY REQUIREMENT WAS TO GET THE CARPETS PROFESSIONALLY CLEANED ONCE A YEAR. I found that too good to be true. I asked numerous times, told the same thing each time. That was the one and only requirement, until I called to use my warranty since the carpet is not holding up as the salesman said it would. It's the worse carpet I've ever bought. Not satisfied with it when it was installed. Looked like a cheap grain of carpet. The man checking our carpet for the warranty began listing off requirements for the warranty I was not aware of. But the time the man left, we already knew what we told was not happening. Sure enough we were denied.

Empire is the most unprofessional flooring company. Not only are they unprofessional they are unreliable. Booked an installation appointment. Was guaranteed the job could be done only to be told that the installers cannot complete the job with the type of flooring material we chose so we decided to go with something else so we can get flooring installed after all of the flooring was already torn out of my entire house with only Thanksgiving a week away. Monday comes along and still nothing is being done.
Now they want us to wait until they get the flooring in stock. This is absolutely insane and inconvenient for my family. So I guess no family Thanksgiving at my house this year. We were having family over and big dinner plans for the holiday. Thanks to Empire everything is canceled and my children will not have a Thanksgiving dinner. We have no table because all of our furniture is pushed into one part of our house. What's worse is that my children have to constantly be in tennis shoes or confined to one room in the house because the floors are concrete. This is so terrible of Empire. Contacted corporate and I was told someone would be in touch with me within 24 hrs but that was a complete lie.
They are not helpful in any way whatsoever and they have not made me feel comfortable throughout this whole process at all and have not reassured me through anything and not even offered compensation for all the time wasted and inconveniences on their end. They know our situation and still we are on standby. So please look elsewhere. Empire is not the place!!!

I had an appointment to have tiles and carpeting done. I took time off from work, had my stove unhooked, set up the cats so they were not in the way, moved furniture around, etc. So they were supposed to call me between 8:30 and 10:30 to let me know when they would be here. Meanwhile received texts and e-mails verifying the date. When I called I spoke to the person who manages the installations. He said he had called me to change the date. #1, I did not receive any phone call and #2, if I had known this yesterday, I wouldn't have spent all day getting ready for them to come.
So the installation manager says he has no one in the area today or tomorrow to do the work. Again I took time off from work to be here for this flooring. I am so disappointed in this company. The salesman didn't even call me back. All they said was I am sorry. That doesn't help that I am losing money by not working and now have to move everything back to where it was. Empire Today Flooring Review. NEVER hire this company. From my experience, they are not competent, not responsive, not responsible (don’t want to admit their own mistakes) and do not refund money when items are returned. They have so far been unwilling to settle what even they admit is a legitimate claim for compensation for completely butchering a floor installation.
July 2017 - Empire recommended and sold me poor quality and inappropriate flooring: Manufacturer: LW Mountain. Style Name/Number: Vallette. Color Name/Number: Acacia Samba Brown. Size Involved in Claim: 1841. Type of Surface: Vinyl Plank Click-Lock. Empire recommended this flooring for both the upstairs and downstairs as well as the stairs. But when their installers looked at it, the installers showed me that it was inappropriate flooring for stairs. Empire had to order a second type of flooring and trim for the stairs.
Empire charged me additional $5K and did not refund any for the extra vinyl flooring I paid for. The installers refused to remove the original wood flooring on the lower floor. Instead, they installed the vinyl directly over the original flooring. I was charged for the removal and never got a refund. I reported this to the sales rep and she did nothing but note it on the paperwork. In addition, Empire had ordered and charged me for cement to level out the lower floor when the old flooring had been removed. I had the installers return it to Empire. This charge was not refunded.
The installation was very messy and the installers left glue around baseboards and did not clean up. I called Empire repeatedly to get the floors cleaned and they did not respond to my request to do so. The installation took much longer to complete than originally estimated because of the bad recommendation to use the vinyl on the stairs. The installers broke plumbing in the bathroom that I had to pay for and I had to hire someone to set up the TV a second time.
January 2018. Within 5 months of installation, floor humped up 1+ inches in one spot (the kitchen as you enter from the dining area and hall) and up to ½” in other places. After the flooring humped up, I did an online review of complaints about this flooring. Many reviews indicated that humping was a known problem with this flooring. I called customer service and was told they would get back to me. They didn’t. I called several times to follow up as floor was getting worse. It was also humping up in several locations upstairs.
March – The floor is getting worse – the humped floor in the kitchen is 1 – 1.5” higher than the rest of the floor. This has created a trip hazard. On March 11, Empire sent two installers out to “repair” the floor. The installers took one look and said that the floor had been improperly installed and would have to be entirely replaced both downstairs and upstairs. They called back to Empire while they were here and reported this to Empire. Thus, in addition to being poor quality flooring, the vinyl flooring was installed badly. I got no follow up from Empire and had to keep calling them. Finally in May, Empire told me they would send two new installers out and I had to move out to have them repair the floor.
May 11, 2018. I was told a supervisor, Mario would be out 5/24 to replace the floor. I was told that I would have to move everything out of the downstairs rooms. I reminded the Empire installation supervisor, Joe, that I was a 70 year old woman with a bad back and could not move the large furniture. He said the installers would take care of that. From 5/11 – 5/22, I packed all dishes, art, and collectibles that were in the living room, dining room, and family/kitchen room. I removed all items from the pantry. I removed all small furniture, packed items and carpets and stored them in the garage. This took well over 60 hours of my time.
May 24, 2018. Two new installers arrived (not Mario, the supervisor as I had been promised). They took one look at the problem and said, “We can’t fix this. The entire floor needs to be replaced.” They called Joe and left. Since then, Empire has continued to jerk me around and not resolve the problem. They have admitted that the flooring was not good quality and had known problems and that it was not installed correctly. They have finally admitted that it will all have to be replaced.
I have had to hire a lawyer to help me get them to respond. I had to hire a professional floor inspector to do a report on it. Empire hired their own inspector. Both inspectors said the vinyl flooring was not good quality and it was installed very badly. I'm appalled that a company of their size would be so difficult and insensitive. For example, twice, the local installation manager has sent a crew (2 installers) out to "fix" the floor. Both times the installers looked at the problems with the floor and said, "That can't be fixed, it has to all be replaced".
I have been greatly inconvenienced and stressed because of Empire’s poor quality flooring, incompetent installation, and poor response from Customer Service. I have been contacting Empire and trying to resolve the problems with the flooring since February 2018. I have been unable to use a large portion of the house – particularly the living room, dining room and kitchen. The hazardous bump has prevented me from inviting family and friends over due to the liability of possibly tripping on the floor.
The stress and inconvenience will not be over with a payment from Empire. I will still have to hire people to remove and replace the faulty, poor quality flooring that Empire left me with. I will have to pack and move out so that a proper installation can be done. As of November 19, 2018, I have received no compensation from Empire.
Lee, we're disappointed to hear about your experience. We'll be further reviewing your concerns, thank you.

I received a phone call at 7 am on the day of installation from Empire stating that not enough flooring was in the warehouse for the installation and that the installation would have to be rescheduled. I had already taken off one of my precious few annual leave days for the installation.
When I asked about partial installation, I was told they could proceed, but they would not give me a date for the rest to be installed. I told them I wanted to cancel the order and was told it was past the 3 day cancellation period. I informed the representative that EMPIRE was the one in breach of contract since not only was the installation not performed due to the lack of materials but also the company could not provide an estimated date in the future (which could be 1 day or never) for the installation. I requested the refund forthwith. This occurred about 2 months ago and still no refund has been posted to my credit card. The subcontractor phoned our home to advise us that he would be arriving within an hour and wanted to know how much work would be involved which we found odd. The installers laid a subfloor down but only on part of the floor. They installed the flooring and did the grout work. They informed us that they did not have the baseboard with them and would have to come back to install. Once they left and the grout dried we noticed that all the grout work had cracked. We contacted customer service to make them aware of the issue and they filed a claim. A supervisor contacted us and asked that we please send pictures of the issue and she would review them and get back to us on Tuesday.
Tuesday came and went and we got no callback. On Wednesday we placed a call to customer service yet again and they informed us that the home office was unavailable. They left a message and filed another claim for us and yet we still have not heard back. It is completely frustrating that no one seems to care that we are dissatisfied and have a bathroom floor that is unfinished. Absolutely the worst experience imaginable. Signed a contract and made a deposit to have carpet installed on November 2nd, scheduled for November 7th, they don't give you a time in advance so I had to take the whole day off work. Installers show up and realize they can’t insall the carpet because the clearance on my doors will not fit the new carpet. I schedule a carpenter to trim my doors as instructed by the installers for Friday, try about 10 times to get in contact with Empire to have the new install date moved to Friday so that I don't have to take a third day off work.
They don't ever respond, on Friday night I finally get someone to answer the phone at Empire's customer service department. They schedule me for Saturday, November 10th installation. Saturday comes, installer never shows up, he calls me at 5 pm and says “we have too much work so we can’t get to you, someone will call you on Monday to reschedule.” This is after I’ve been waiting for them all day. No one ever calls, Tuesday I call and I am told someone will call me back within 24 hours. Thursday night (November 15th) I call again cause I have not heard from anyone, person tells me, “Oh, we realized we did not show up so we cancelled that order yesterday.” Meanwhile, no one ever told me they pretty much changed their mind on fulfilling their end of our contract and how to get my deposit back. Completely terrible service.

I couldn't find what I wanted with the Luna company, so I thought I'd get a second opinion and see whatever Empire had, for which they didn't, but he showed me the laminate and I liked the pattern in that. So, I went with Empire instead of calling Luna back. I'm satisfied in the choice that I made with the laminate. Empire's rep was okay. He took $100 off the bill because the measurements weren't right and there were a couple of problems. The flooring wasn't installed the day that it was supposed to because of the wrong measurement of the first people that came here. It was a mess.
The installers did a very nice job, though. The two men that came didn't take them all day. However, I would never deal with Empire again. I'm paying for what I got, and it was priced too high. I could have gotten my whole house done for $1,000. And then, a couple of months later, they got a sale going on. I wish I had stayed with Luna. I got some other rooms and I'm going back to Luna.

I just had vinyl flooring and carpet installed in my home. The vinyl was done first and the transition pieces they put down between the vinyl and carpet was too high that I couldn't even open my french doors to the backyard. The installer told me I would have to just pull hard on the door but be careful not to scratch the transition piece. When I called about it, the representative told me that I should have read my contract carefully because it states they do not shave doors and that is what needs to be done to correct the problem. Now, the next day with the carpet installers. They both smoked which is fine that's their body. But one of them left a lit cigarette in the hedges and when I mentioned it; he looked at me, shrugged his shoulders, and kept working. Really!!

We got a quote for carpet and laminate installation throughout the house. We negotiated a price which I felt was fair. I have been trying to set up an appointment to get it installed. Every time I call customer service they tell me the sales rep will have to call me back to set up an appointment. However it has been 6 days and the sales rep has not called me back! I have called multiple times and have received the same response. This is crazy! If the sales rep does not call back I am not able to make an appointment and customer service apparently cannot make an appointment. I am actually going out of my way to do business with Empire and I still have not heard back. This experience has been very bizarre. I'm moving on to a company that wants my business and whose scheduling system makes sense.

Salesman came out to home and showed us numerous samples. We pick one that he suggested. Installation took longer than expected. After initial installation everything looked good. Two weeks later the "luxury Vinyl" flooring was "peaking" at the end joints in the kitchen and living room. A call into Empire and a week later someone show up to look at it. They scratched their heads and left. Another two weeks go by and finally an inspector from Empire shows up and says "don't lose any sleep over this as it was a defective lot of flooring." Weeks go by and after numerous phone calls Empire and the flooring company want an independent person to look at the issue. He shows up and does his thing.
A week later I get a hold of the report which states the installation was done incorrectly and there were "site" issues. Now for the fun, Empire was willing to repair or replace but said the "site" issues (supposed unlevel subfloor) would need to be addressed. Repair tech shows up says the installation was done wrong and there was no "site" issues. So three months later finally the issue is hopefully resolved. Lost three months of rent so the $8000.00 flooring job turned into $12500.00. Just a horrible experience with Empire and I would never recommend them to anyone and tell everyone I know not to ever use them for anything.

If a product can't make the life of the loan, I personally won't do business with that company again. It should at least last until I'm done paying for it! Right? I financed new carpet with Empire Today a year and a half ago for $3,300. I make monthly payments. I'm about halfway through paying it off. The carpet is no longer lying flat in the hallway. I called Empire Today. I was told I was under warranty and someone would contact me to restretch it. I got the call and was told I was not under warranty (I was beyond the one year warranty), and that it would cost at least $80 to come out - maybe more, depending on what they had to do once they got there.
I did not schedule an appointment for repair. I don't think I should have to pay for it. I'm am an older woman who is extremely clean, neat, & easy on the carpet. I live alone so I am the only one who walks on it regularly. I have no children or pets in the home. And I'm only halfway through paying off $3,300 loan. That's ridiculous. The sad thing is, I am a repeat customer. I don't feel valued as a customer and am disappointed. I won't call Empire for my flooring needs in the future.

Disappointment is an understatement. An appt date was set for this past Monday. My husband and I both arrived home from work early, due to the appt time. The appointment time came and went, no show. The sales rep finally called stating he wasn't going to make it due to his previous appt going through our time. We rescheduled our appt time for two days later. Sales rep promised we would be his priority and he would be on time. He showed up a day early! We were leaving for another out of home appointment and reminded the sales rep our appointment time was the following day. The following day my husband and I both took off of work early to be home at our appt time.
The appointment time AGAIN came and went... no show. I called Empire to discuss what happened. I was told the sales rep was very sorry but he was busy with another customer and wouldn't be able to make our appt. When I expressed my disappointment with the Empire customer service rep, his comment was, "We have other customers, Ma'am." I guess the other customers and their time were more important and valued than mine. To say we are disappointed in Empire is an understatement.

They never told me that laminate floors should not be installed in Florida! They tell me it is water or cat pee that is ruining the floors. They told me the floors were indestructible!! All 1200 sq feet of my floors is warping! Empire will do nothing! Keith Weinberger (CEO). Doesn't even have the courtesy to contact me. I have receipts and picture so! I can go into great detail though I’ve shared this sequence of events far too many times with no resolution. My experience started with a no show of a salesman and no call from the manager. The following week a man come out who showed me some color options for my carpeting and a couple for my kitchen floor. The day came for install of my kitchen floor that I scheduled far in advance, the man came and said it couldn’t be done with the option that was selected and that my sales person should have known. He filled me in on some second choice options and told me I had to call in. So I did, talked to my sales person who told me he had no time then when I called again hours later he was suddenly in the area. He came in. We picked something else and then I was told it was going to cost even more.
I felt like I was haggling to buy a car. Why would I pay more for 2nd choice product? He got on the phone and somehow it ended up a wash or close to it. The next day was to be my carpet install, I asked what could go wrong before my salesman left. He said nothing carpet is easy. Needless to say the man came first thing the next morning, he took a look at my living room and dining room and told me he couldn’t do the install. He has a bad back. Livid at this point he tells me no one can come out for another week. When I tell them to forget the whole thing suddenly someone can come out in an hour and leave all my carpeting and padding on my front porch. Hours later 2 men come and install. The following week my floors are installed. I’ve sent pictures to Empire directly that show damage to these floors as well as cove base that’s not fully attached.
There is also some type plastic between the carpeting and padding on certain spots that you can hear crackle when you walk. I’ve been waiting for months for a resolution. I received an additional bill while waiting that no one could explain and when I ask for itemized statement reflecting the flooring change and the upgrade in padding that we don’t believe we actually got but were charged I was told by Xavier that he didn’t believe it was possible to get those. I put another phone call in yesterday because my husband and I are concerned about this padding. But the poor guy got no answer yet again out of Pittsburgh. Needless to say I would really do my homework before I’d invest in such a project. Something that I was so excited about has brought me nothing but frustration and disappointment.
Hope, we're disappointed to hear that you're unsatisfied with your installation. We'll be in touch with you shortly to discuss your concerns.

I purchased a carpet from Empire Today about three months ago and a man and his son came out to put it in. They were really friendly and they talked a lot. I had one room done and they finished in probably two and a half hours. The installation was really smooth. I thought it was gonna leave a mess but the installers did an excellent job. I looked around and saw that they cleaned up every inch of the stuff that they peeled off the floor and they put it in a plastic bag. The carpet cost only $700, which was cheaper than that of another flooring company that I also called before I went with Empire Today. I love the carpet. It's blue and I like its color because it isn’t too light nor too dark. I was very satisfied with Empire Today.

We had carpeting installed Sept. 2017. Not long after installation we noticed a seam showing and a few other minor mistakes. We called and they sent out a inspector. He took pictures and he repaired the minor things and said they would get in touch with us for the seam repair. Time went by and we received no call. In December my husband Marvin died and the carpeting was forgotten. As time went on the seam kept separating and started to unravel. I called again an inspector came out and said the backing was peeling off the carpeting and he would recommend to the company that it be replaced. That was in late September of 2018. A customer service person was assigned to my case, her name was Tara. I have called repeatedly and have had no response. I would tell anyone to stay clear of this company as the customer service is terrible.

I got a new kitchen floor put in and the upstairs re-carpeted through Empire Today and I had a great experience dealing with their reps. The installation was wonderful too. It took the team one day to finish the job and they surpassed my expectations. I had put one in myself and I know how much work it is, and I didn’t expect them to do that good of a job. They put in that rug and the kitchen floors so easily. I also like that my new flooring hides the dirt. If I get any dirt on the floor, you will not see it. I clean my kitchen floor every week but it never looks dirty.
As soon as I get my bill paid for on Empire, then I’m gonna do the main floor of the house, put a new bathroom floor and put in a shower. I would surely phone Empire for the new carpeting and I’m hoping that the men who put in my carpeting upstairs will be available to do the main floor. I was totally satisfied with the work that Empire did. I would recommend them to a friend, and I already did. One of my friends is looking to get new carpeting in her house and I told her what a great job Empire did.

Told Empire about this and all they can say is that it will cost 100 dollars!!! They only care about their money and not that the carpet was stretched improperly on their part, which in turn I may not had all these problems!!!

I’d be giving zero stars if that was an option. I’m so dissatisfied with Empire and their customer service that I will NEVER use their services again. All I wanted was new carpet installed and my doors cut down so I could use them with the new carpet. That is WAY too much to ask. It started with the sales person telling me I could leave big furniture in the room and the installers would move it around as necessary... that’s not true. Then, a separate team needs to come out to cut down your doors. They will literally NEVER show up and not call to tell you their other jobs took too long so they won’t make it. I’m on my third appointment and it’s going on almost 2 weeks after the carpet install and my doors aren’t cut down. I’ve escalated to several managers and they don’t care. They won’t even give me a discount for all of the trouble they caused me. I would highly discourage anyone from using this Empire.

When making my appointment I was told the installers would be able to remove the pedestal sink in the restroom to install flooring. On the day of installation, the installers came into my home and never greeted me just spoke to each other in Spanish. They then told me they couldn't start the installation because they couldn't remove the pedestal sink and left. After a week of calling Empire and trying to speak to a supervisor, I finally was able to speak to one. The supervisor apologized and reset my appointment for another day. On my second appointment the installers told me that they too were unable to remove the sink and left. I called Empire to cancel and get my deposit back.
After 2 days I reached back out to confirm the cancellation. I was told that a cancellation was never submitted! I reached out to the salesman Zach who signed me up. I let him know how displeased I was since he told me the installers would be able to remove the sink. He apologized and assured me on the next appointment & on another day they would make sure the installers were capable of removing the sink. Today the 3rd installer came. He was able to remove the sink and install the floor but, Empire didn't supply him with all needed material and I was sent to Home Depot to spend my money after, already paying Empire $1000. The sales contract guy showed up, gave us a quote for a laminate flooring install. Just for a reminder we lived in the Syracuse NY area and had a contractor install a laminate floor in our dining room. Fast forward to our house in NC... Installer shows up this AM with the "quality flooring product." I looked it over and found the quality of a poor grade. The piece I looked at was a mere 1/4 to 3/16 thick and the exposed fiber tongue, broke off with little effort. I remember the quality of the floor installed in my home in NY, which was at least a half inch thick and was of much better construction and was solid to the touch.
The sample that the sales guy had didn't show this poor quality and the price was equitable to the product used in the NY home. I'm not sure why this flimsy product was not properly displayed, by the salesman. We surely would not have selected this product. Please check the quality of the samples the salesman shows you before selecting inferior materials, and causing undue stress and wasted time. We had to select a different product and wait to have the sales guy requote it, and adjust the budget for the entire bottom floor of our NC home.

I scheduled a free estimate on 10/7. On that day I picked the flooring of my choice. It was originally scheduled to be installed on 10/14. On that day no one showed up. The scheduler called and said the installer had food poisoning and could not make it. I understood and rescheduled for the following day. Although I was told it would only take a day to install I had planned two days off of work because I suspected it would take at least two days so I was not alarmed. On the next day I waited at home from work no one showed up. I got a call by the end of day asking to reschedule for the following day, with an apology from the scheduler.
I explained I could not take off another day in a row. The scheduler promised someone would be there on the third day, because I have to work for a living taking off three days in a row would possibly put my job in jeopardy. So I rescheduled for 10/23. The floors were finally installed and looked beautiful with one problem the installer left three boxes of flooring at the warehouse and I had to reschedule again for the completion of the job. Again I am understanding I said ok. This time rescheduling for 11/6, on that day no installer showed, by this time I am frustrated and decided to go to work on the following day and wait until the installer contacted me before making sure I was home for the install.
The following morning I get a call from the installer saying he had a problem the previous day when would be a good time for him to install the flooring. My response was because it was a storm this morning I don’t have any lights but he could come anytime today. He assured me he would have his generator and had to pick up the flooring and would be on his way. I again stay off work waiting this day no one showed up no call or anything. I called the scheduler and left a message then called customer service. So here it is a fifth day I am waiting for the finalization of this project.
If I keep taking off for this I may not even have a job to pay for the flooring that I am under contract and obligated to pay for in full. I regret choosing Empire Today but 85 % of the job is complete and it would look too bad to have this unfinished. I am so frustrated with this process and the time I have invested for a job I was told would be completed in one day; now that one day has turned into 4 weeks.
Tameka, this is not how we want our installations to go. We'll be looking into your concerns shortly.

Empire Today installs tile. They do. They eventually did install tile. However this took 7 DAYS of waiting 8 am-7 pm for them to show up. Admittedly one time this was the installers coming and saying, "Hey it rained all day. We can't install tile today." Sounds reasonable. It was a variety of interesting silence - I'd get a call around 8 am to say my tile will be installed today... And then nothing. No calls, no show. Take off work? Better devote a week or two of vacation days to use this company. And the fun only starts then. So they install your tile. Found a water leak made my slab totally saturated with water in one corner. Remember that bit about rain? Now it doesn't apply and they say the tile will go down no problems. Moisture meter to measure concrete water saturation levels? Ha! They came back the next day (around 5 PM!) to grout.
They make mistakes - no transition strip, moldings installed inconsistently. The installer didn't have a measuring tape so eyeballed the trim moldings after the tile was installed. You can guess how that looks after they left. And oh? My toilet is overflowing after they took it off and put it back. Aw shucks, I understand must be unrelated right? Plumber augers the toilet and removes GOBS of wax stuffed into the toilet. My nice new floors are covered my swirled feces. Great. Empire says they'll reimburse me. I notice some pieces of my toilet are missing too. Installers threw them away! So I have to order new plates to the toilet, (covers the bolt holes). So I work with corporate they apologize sound nice, and schedule service. No call no show. Call corporate again, they apologize, and guarantee the repairman for the toilet will be here by 5.
4 rolls around, and the guy calls me and says he'll be around 6-7. I'm unhappy but after almost ten visits for 120 square feet of bathroom tilework, I acquiesce. It's 8 PM now. No show. Go figure. I feel ** more than serviced. 80 hours of my time wasted for $15 a square foot tilework I could get done by others. I thought using a big company would be a good idea. I will never trust them again. It's not over though, I still need the installation finished.
There's a gash in the floor between my admittedly nice looking tile and my other flooring, (which is another story - the salesman promised a tile pattern transition strip, but plain metal is all the company says they have now.) I'd be happy to have anything, the job is undone almost two weeks later and I have nothing but wasted time and annoyance, poorly installed trim, and questions whether this flooring install is going to last. No warranty is given for the tile staying down, only for the pattern not wearing off... I wouldn't trust them if you want to retain basic self respect.
Aryeh, thank you for making us aware of this matter. We'll be looking into your concerns right away.

Empire rep came 10/31, gave estimate of nearly $9000 to replace old hardwood floors and subfloor on 1st floor. We put down $50 deposit "to lock in the rate." 11/5 salesman returned and we put 1/2 down and applied for and received financing through Wells Fargo - pay in one year, no interest. Installation to run two days, set for 11/8. So far, so good.
Installer/sub-contractor came on 11/7 to "make sure there'd be no problems." It's an old house, has been settling over time. There is definitely a slope in the front room. It's part of the reason we contracted for removal of old floor and sub-floor and new installation. Contractor claimed it would be an additional $2100 to "level the new subfloor." That's some expensive wood on top of the to-be-exposed beams - that makes it an $10,000+ job. We said we'd pass, and initiated cancellation process. Surprise! The start date for our job was suddenly 10/31 (the "lock in the rate" day) rather than 11/5 (the day we actually made the downpayment and were approved for financing), or 11/7 (the day the actual contractor tried to upsell us for $2100) or 11/8 (the day work was to begin).
There is a 3 day Buyer's Remorse window on electronic cancellation (but no email address in the paperwork to which to send) and 5 day for Empire to receive (not for us to send) by mail. So we missed that boat. Called Empire to cancel. Was told they would refund $3100 of the $4000 downpayment to the card we paid on. Or, and this is the kicker, they could lower the additional charge to $100 and we could go ahead with the job. So, lose $900 or pay $100 more - unless additional problems arose once the work started. Have to say, we weren't feeling very trusting at this point. Canceled the job, filed dispute with the credit card company. We'll see.

Submitted pictures and I had to call back every other day until someone would help me. Only for the lady to tell me that it looks like moisture damage and I may have a leak in my walls. I just purchased my home, full inspection and just had all plumbing done in that bathroom, no leaks! But it's also a bathroom so if the baseboard cant withstand moisture why install it in a bathroom? It's a faux wood baseboard. The bathroom doesn't have a bath or shower and the damage isn't behind a sink or toilet. Save yourself the headache and go with a company who will stand behind their customers and not use cheap products in your home. A complete waste of my money.

This was the absolute worst experience I've ever had with a contractor. Empire Today came out and gave me a quote, the following day a rep called to say they could come down on the original quote because the materials were in stock. I said the quote was great and asked if they could honor the $250 coupon offered online for signing up for their emails. The rep said absolutely, and that he would call to confirm. I called him on Friday to confirm and he said there were no issues and our installation date on Tuesday was good to go as well as the quoted price to include the coupon. He then calls me first thing Saturday morning, when none of their offices have a manager/supervisor available, and says he can't honor the quote given and it would go up. I was told a supervisor would call me first thing Monday morning.
I can't get Empire Today to answer me, I can't get me in touch with a supervisor, and now they are telling me there's no way to honor my installation date. Every time I ask to speak to someone they put me on hold and when they finally get back on the phone they tell me that "someone will contact you in about 24 hours". They came out to install over 400 sq feet of hardwood late afternoon 1 person. I told him 2 day job. He said, "I will finish today." He was dumping boxes of flooring in the middle of the room and then trying to match up pieces. He was throwing pieces and grabbing other. When I came home my wife said he was there to 130 in the morning. I have 3 kids. I was like, "Look at this floor it was scratched up all over." My wife told him the entrance way was part of the floor so he then took up old and put floor in. And it was raining out now at midnight. There are stains like drops on the entrance way in. Can't get them out. Tried everything. Can't get it cleaned up and scratches all over. I need 2 more rooms done in wood so I told the salesmen to wait and see what happens.
The first call they told me to send pics. I did. 2nd they said someone was coming out to look. No show no call. 3rd they say they are coming out Monday between 8 am and 6 pm. I have never had this problem. I've used Empire for 20 years or more on 4 of my houses. Never had a problem. I hope they do the right thing and redo the floor they did and I have 2 more for them and a staircase to do too. Like I said they always did great work. This is the 1st time I had a problem. Installer was a young man. Good worker but just like to throw and dump the flooring.

I ordered window treatments from Empire Today. They did a good job on the shade but an awful job on the vertical blinds, I had them come back 4 times and they still don’t work. The slats fall down when you open and close the blinds. I should have gone to Blinds To Go. What a waste of $600. Then they call to tell you they are running a special and I tell them, "Your product sucks," and that I would never use you again, the representative says, "Ok have a nice day." A big thumbs down from me.

I had two bathroom floors and I had the whole carpeted by Empire Today. Timing is a big factor for me and I like that they could do the job all in one day. The salesman we dealt with showed and explained everything to us and the installers were very helpful. They were very nice, neat and clean, and they did everything they were supposed to do. Everything looks great and I'm happy with it. I'm very pleased with Empire Today and I've been telling people about them.

I love the carpeting I had put in. I got real good padding underneath in it and it's real soft when I walk. I also had a good experience with the people who installed it. They did everything well and they cleaned up, which I liked. Empire Today is good and I would tell others to call and see what they can get.

I've always had Empire Today out in my houses. They did my house in Williamstown about 15 years ago and it was wonderful. This time, I had them in Hammonton. Their salesman did very well. My wife liked their ceramic flooring and I liked it too, so we got it together. Their installers were very nice people. We had them install the flooring in the living room, dining room, hallway, two bedrooms, and two closets. They cleaned up after and they did a good job. It was perfect and the product is beautiful. However, after they put the flooring in, they told us to watch it and don't get it wet because it's gonna get messed up. We thought it was good and a little waterproof, so now we're keeping it dry and there are no problems. I'd probably get rugs in and scratch guard as well because I got a puppy.
Also, the floor was for $8,400. Good thing Empire Today was a nice shop, but it's a lot of money for a couple of floors. When they did my house 15 years ago, I had whole rugs put in my whole house and they only charged me about $2,000. Now, I'm in debt. I gave them around $1,140 and I still owe $7,200. Other than that, I'd recommend Empire Today. We love the floor. When we shine it, nobody walks on it for an hour. We look forward to doing business with them in the future.

I was looking for something that was durable and inexpensive for a rental unit. I have been using Empire Today since the mid-90s and I’ve always had good luck with them. I like that they do things fast and it's done well. I could call and tell them that I want to see some carpet, and they could make an appointment right away. Within 48 hours, I have an appointment and a representative would be here quickly. And it's the same way with the installation. It took about four days to get it done, and my new flooring looked nice. They’re thorough, they work neatly and they take all their garbage out, what more can I ask? I have recommended them to folks.

Had Empire come to my home and install my VPF. Love the color. It is history oak Anise by Vallette. The installers told me they did not need to put a moisture barrier down between my wood floor and the VPF. My floors started buckling. All except for the kitchen. Can you guess why? They laid the VPF on top of the linoleum, which acted as a moisture barrier. Empire came out and told me if was not their problem, I had a moisture problem. So I call a home improvement man out to fix my floors. He ask that a get another box of this flooring in case we need it when he tears the floor up and put it back down. EMPIRE REFUSE TO SELL ME A BOX OR TELL ME WHERE I COULD BY A BOX OF THE FLOORING!!! I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Empire Today did a nice job with my flooring. Initially, I considered buying from a different company. But because my neighbor had Empire Today and loved what they did at her house, I didn't fool around and I just went to Empire. The salesman who came in had a beautiful patch and I just fell in love with the rug. I had that done as well as had Empire put in laminated flooring.
The only thing with the installation was they said they would be here at 8 o'clock in the morning and yet they came at noon time. They put the laminated flooring in the kitchen, then they did the living room and the hall. So, they were here until 7:00 PM. Then, they came back the next day and four hours later, they were done with installing in the rest of the house. Other than that, I liked the color of the flooring and it matches my wall. The brand was similar to what I had in here as it was manufactured by the same company. I'd tell anybody to go to Empire.

My wife liked the samples that the salesman brought in, she picked out the particular ones she liked, and that was what we got. Also, the new rugs are very comfortable and they look very good. We’re very happy with the whole situation.

I had a carpet installed by Empire Today in our living room and dining room. They also installed vinyl in the kitchen and utility room. We had Empire once before, and they had a special on, so we decided to try them. Empire's salesperson came and we talked to him and picked out what we wanted. They were supposed to be here the following day, but they didn't show up. When they came, they ripped my floor out. We were gonna put wood down, and they found a problem, and they said they couldn't do that. So, the salesman had to come back and redo it. Then they were supposed to come back and put it in. They didn't show up.
I kept on calling but there was no response. So, my son finally called and in two days, they were up here and had it put in. I also had to have them come back one time because somehow there was a crack in the kitchen. They had to come back and replace it. But other than that, I like the product. My experience wasn't a very good one, but you could take a chance on Empire and hope you'll have good luck with them.

I was incredibly disappointed to see that green carpet runners were installed. I did not order green carpet, I ordered charcoal gray. And who would name a green carpet Night Vision??? Shouldn't that have been Empire's first clue??? I've called them every day since the installation. I haven't received one call from Empire to talk to me about fixing this issue. After two separate reviews and an online response from the company requesting to send further information to the customer contact email, Empire Today addressed my concerns and issued a full refund.
I did not raise their rating to 5 because I am still not happy with the service that I received with our no-show installers and multiple manager's reluctance to issue a refund for an error on their part. However, I am satisfied with their rapid response to my email and online reviews.

Absolutely horrible experience, DO NOT hire this company and DO NOT sign their contract. After being told we had to reschedule our initial appointment, they did NOT show up at the next scheduled appointment that we received ample notifications for. We had to call the company to ask where their guys were and we were apologized to because THEY HAD DELETED OUR APPOINTMENT. We were told they would contact us for a refund by a manager and never received a call. Upon calling back again for the expected refund, they REFUSED to refund us the $400 that we put down due to the contract we signed even though they failed to show up. We will be reporting to the BBB.

J.B came out on Monday 10/29 and showed us some samples for flooring. After picking out flooring, he scheduled us for the next day install, Tue 10/30 and installed it. My husband was home and the installer showed husband the floor and left. When I arrived home, and our son took a shower, the rubber frame between the bathtub and floor slid off!!! They removed it to install the floor and left a one-inch gap between the floor and bathtub, with blue underlayment showing and water has seeped into the floor within the first 4 hours of it being installed!! I deiced to take a closer look at everything and realize they left another gap behind the toilet!! We were charged for them to "flatten our floor" but the contractor did NOT do that, so now we have squeaking floor in the kitchen, gaps in the restroom (wet area), holes on the quarter round base.
I called the same Tuesday and was told I'd receive a call back within the next 2 days, I did not! I called back today, 11/1 and spoke to Ian at customer service who was so disgustingly rude I hope he never finds a job again. He had no answers, kept huffing, and kept interrupting me. When I asked to speak to someone else, he rudely replied no one else can help, they'll tell you the same thing. He did not care about being rude. I decided to call J.B and he told me the same thing, he has no control over the situation, he has no connection between operations and himself. Seriously? What kind of company do you work for if you are less helpful than the people on the phone? I'll let this roll into collections, they won't get one dollar from me, because I'd rather pay for good customer service and installation the first time not this.

Empire's price was better than other brands I considered and I purchased from them some flooring materials for a rental condo. Sharon was a good sales rep and she said she gave me a commercial price which was better than the retail price. I got moisture proof padding and a middle of the price range, average carpeting for two bedrooms, two baths, stairs, hallway, and landing. I like the fact that the carpeting I picked out might not show spots and stains as prevalent as a solid color. I’m hoping that it doesn’t show the wear and tear and stains as badly since it had more of a salt-pepper type appearance to it.

Do not use Empire. I repeat do not use Empire. I recently (1 November 2018) had Empire handle my carpet installation. I called customer service on a Tuesday to find out a price comparison before my install that was scheduled for that Thursday. Empire has a 24 hour policy to call you back. Needless to say they did not call me back. I called twice; once after the 24 hour period on Wednesday and again Thursday morning after telling the installers not to proceed. I was then told by a manager in sales that it would cost some crazy price to change my carpet. He called back after I told him that I would verify the information against an order my friend has coming up. I will inform him about this horrible business so that he can go somewhere else.
I'm sorry that I ever recommended Empire. Then as the installers were wrapping up business they realize that they don't have enough supplies. The installer ask me to sign a form that I was satisfied. I drew a line through satisfied and called Empire. This time I speak to customer service and I explained my situation and the agent informed me that all they would do is to set me up for another day to complete the installation. After asking for a decision maker I was transferred and told the same information and given the same 24 hour timeline by her manager. I asked for corporate's number. I called at 1530 on a Thursday and all I got was a bunch of answering machines. I left a message. As I was about to leave a review I saw the number on this page.
I called and the level of rudeness by the escalation manager was horrific. The first person was fine. I calmed down and explained why I was so upset. He then transferred me to this person that answered, "How can I help you?" I lost it. I asked her, "Did you not receive a brief from the last person or look through the notes." Then she quickly found my issue after a few deep sighs as if I was bothering her. She basically echoed the 24 hour sales manager line and again with some more bothersome exhales. I asked her to please have her manager to call me and she hung up.
I was taught in the military to provide a solution for a problem and I have the following: fire that young lady, dissolve that 24 hour policy, install right the first time or Empire pays for the installation, refund me my installation price and fix this right away. The nerve of this business. I am a disabled vet with mobility issues and I have to be worried about tack strips until you can get back out. I also have small children. Who is in charge? I will also contact my friends that have future installs to tell them about your business practices as well as putting pictures on my Facebook. Good day!

We had a supposedly quality carpet with a 30 year wear warranty installed in March 2018. Within 6 months, the carpet showed unusual and unacceptable wear by our couch. A representative from Empire came out and said we needed to get the carpet professionally cleaned and the problem would be solved. Keep in mind, it's just my wife and me in the house. We did as told and it did no good. Repeated calls to their customer service resulted in unfulfilled promises to contact me. Eventually I contacted the Chicago area BBB and submitted a complaint. Empire responded by saying I must grind my heels in the carpet which voids the warranty.
After I replied that I would have to be mentally ill to sit and grind my heels, they came back with we didn't vacuum enough. After I countered that, Empire came back with the ridiculous statement that we should vacuum DAILY. Again it's just me, 69 years old, and my wife who is 66. No pets or children. Since the BBB did me no good, I have moved on to the Ohio Attorney General's Office. This company should be ashamed of their inaction on my part. Again, 30 year warranty and we got 6 months. Never a reply from their "world class" customer service. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY.
We're disappointed to hear this, John. We'll be looking into your concerns right away, thank you.

I also saw an ad on TV that said they were having 70% off and it seemed like a good deal. I got some carpet for my bedroom 'cause the rest of my apartment is tiled. I had a wonderful installation experience and the installers were very efficient, helped move some of the heavy boxes, and were very nice to me and my friend. The carpet is stain resistant but when my sick cat vomited on it, I can't seem to get it up. Now, it's brown all over the carpet where she threw up and I'd like to use a scrub brush for what I should do, but staining. Still, the new flooring met my expectations.

I had Empire Today do my whole downstairs, windows, and some window dressings before, and I was pretty satisfied with their service. But since their price is a bit higher than other companies, I shopped around this time. I still ended up with Empire Today though because they move all the furniture and that was a big factor. Another thing was their warranty is good. I had the upstairs done with new laminate because of the guarantee that it won't buckle and fade and that it's good with water now. I also had Empire Today put in porcelain tiles in the downstairs kitchen and bathroom.
Their installers were very, very good. However, I wasn't wild about the fact that aside from their price was higher in the first place, when the installers came, they ended up wanting $700 more to do the kitchen because they said of what was underneath it, which I never hid what was underneath. I told them there were three floors under there. Then when I called, they said they would give me a coupon and let me put in on my cart. That was a little bit of a compromise, but they should know how to quote it without doing that. I also have a little problem downstairs. They took the toilet off the floor then put it on and it's rocking a little bit. Still, I would recommend Empire Today. The flooring turned out very nice and I like it. I absolutely love the color of the porcelain tiles. I also like the fact that I don't have to worry about water anymore.

We decided to go with Empire simply because of the price, they were the best deal, only a hundred off from Home Depot's estimate but we still went with them because carpet is their "specialty". We met with the sales rep, he came to the house and showed us carpets, we picked a carpet and a day for installation. Seemed like it was going flawless. We even paid in full! The installer came out and within 10 minutes of being at my house told me that the type of stairs I have (capped stairs) will NOT work with the Berber I chose. He even took a piece off the carpet and showed me how the loops will 'smile' when bent over the edges of each stair.
My next question was, why did the sales rep not tell me this? He said, "You'd have to ask him, it's a common issue with the Berber carpets." The sales rep, when I called him, was extremely unapologetic and frankly seemed like he was tired of this sale. He said he'll come out in a few days with different carpets for me to choose. He finally comes out 3 days later and starts to show me carpets that are almost a thousand dollars more than what I initially paid!
I told him we will think about it and asked him to leave, I am going to try to call Empire again today to give me another sales rep or refund me completely because that is a VERY sneaky way to upsell and I was NOT born yesterday. This guy gets paid off of commission and this just seems like his sneaky way of making more commission off of a young girl who seems like she doesn't know any better. Steer clear of this company! They are delaying with every step of this process! They were very quick to take my money and now when there is a problem, I keep getting the runaround! I will also be telling all of my friends, coworkers, church family, and volunteer groups about this HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!
