Horrible Customer Service with no callbacks! We had LVP installed in 3 bedrooms of our new house. The floorboards were cut too short and showed the subflooring, if we spilled something it would have ruined the subflooring. When the flooring was sold to us there was no mention of quarter rounds being installed and this was not the aesthetic we were looking for. We were told "the installers do an excellent job of installing the flooring next to the original baseboards." This was not the case.

We scheduled a follow-up complaint resolution and took time off a work to ensure the work was done properly only to be told the appointment needed to be rescheduled because the installers didn't have the material necessary. Mind you, this is after we called to confirm the time the installers would be showing up. If and when we do finally receive calls back, because we called over and over and over, we are told "Oh, I'm sorry, I was out of the office." We spoke with the manager of the install department for the local San Francisco area who told us we would receive a call from her manager, now almost a week later and multiple voicemails, we have yet to hear for anyone on how they are going to make this right by us.

Each time we are told someone will follow up with us in 1 business day we have to call multiple times a day to try to get ahold of someone. This is unacceptable customer service, if you say you are going to call me back, I expect a callback, I should not have to take time out of my day to track someone down. As of this review I have yet to hear from the manager of the San Francisco Install Department.

Salesman was phenomenal, we bought 13000 dollars in laminate flooring for entire downstairs and carpeting for upstairs, on day of installation the guy shows up 3 hours late with an attitude. He is doing the installation by himself from his personal car, there is no crew then proceeds to tell me he has to finish an installation somewhere else later today and that my job will take 2 days. I paid an extra 600 dollars so that they will move all furniture, I dont see how this guy is going to move all my furniture by himself without damaging anything, I am very displeased!!! I thought Empire was a top of the line company but now I see that they are just your typical bottom dollar company that couldnt give two ** about customer service, the bad part is I still have to get the carpet upstairs done on Wednesday, stay tuned.

The carpet I purchased last year is not holding up. It is suppose to be somewhat stain resistant yet you can’t even drop a little water without it staining! It also started to fray. I had to mix glue into the piece of rug material that unraveled and push it down! This is the reason I replaced the old carpet with Empire - I thought I was getting a higher end carpet. I have been trying to connect with customer service for weeks now- Twitter, email, phone calls, Instagram- now I am trying this route. Maybe they are going out of business so they do not care? It's really upsetting because I never had problems with them in years past.

My fiancé and I just bought our first house and we need new flooring in the entire house. We scheduled Empire to come the day of closing because we were so excited to get started. Well the appointment was 3-5 but the sales rep calls us at 1 and says it was more convenient for him to come now because he finished his previous appointment early and didn’t want to wait around until 3, we said, "Now won’t work. We would like to keep our originally scheduled appointment time," and he asked if we could reschedule. That’s ridiculous. So we had to reschedule for another day that week and we waited around and no one showed. We called and apparently the guy somehow got confused on what day he was supposed to show up?? So we had to reschedule YET AGAIN! It is ridiculous that we have to jump through hoops with this company. We have been looking elsewhere for flooring with all of our extra time we have gotten.

I met with a sales rep who assured me installers would remove quarter round against my baseboard before laying carpet in two rooms. Installers did not. After finally reaching customer service they admitted to the mistake and sent out another crew to address the issue. 2nd installer informed me the carpet was cut too short and could not be stretched. He then attempted to contact his supervisor for the next ten minutes to no avail. I have been unable to get a response from customer service since then.

I have reached out to the sales rep via text message repeatedly. First he stated the issue would be handled then would not respond to additional text messages. Finally he responded by telling me not to “dump” my issues onto him, questioned my integrity and character then stated the installers were not “mind readers” or “woodworkers”. I’m simply blown away.

I signed a contract for a 7000.00 dollar job that is completely unsatisfactory in two bedrooms and the sales rep asked me not to “dump” my problems on him? Buyer beware, the big box store easy finance offer is a ploy to get your signature on a contract, collect your money and forget about you. Rarely do I spend time writing a review but the way this situation was handled, (or should I say, not handled) by the sales rep was completely out of line and downright disrespectful. Funny thing is, with the large remnant the initial installers left behind, this issue could have easily been fixed weeks ago. I should have trusted my instincts and shopped local... You should too.

Omg, I should have canceled the order, shut the door and locked it the first morning Empire Today's work crew came on property. First of all, the sub sub sub contractors were very nice. However only the foreman lady spoke English. They arrived in a car. No truck for debris or tools. Another sign to shut the door now. After walking the job, the foreman left. Then demolition began. 1 carpet room, tile in the bathroom. When it came to the bathroom floor, the non English speaking crew began to remove sink and toilet, no tools, or proper tools. I lent them my tools. I placed an old rug outside the bathroom for them to place the toilet on because they did not remove all the water out of the tank etc. They did not provide any floor protection whatsoever during the entire job.

They placed the toilet on a good carpet next to the provided carpet. It gets better, check this out!!! They began to break up the ceramic tile in the bathroom with a hammer, dust and debris spewing in the air piles of broken tile everywhere. They had no trash bags, trash cans, broom, shovel nothing. I again provide tools, plenty of black construction rated bags, trash cans, shovel, broom, whatever they needed. But they could not understand me and I did not speak Portuguese, I can't even spell it. Now they are moving carpet, tiles dust through the whole length of the house on on my good floor without any protection.

I once again covered my floors with old carpet. (Thank God I did 'cause they are no good now after this job. Can't get them clean) Then the foreman returns from Home Depot. (Should have locked the door) with various tools. They never attempted to clean up after 3 days of work, I ran a vacuum and damp mop the whole house after they left. I still am finding thinset droppings. Speaking of thinset-check this out. Believe it or not. Every single bucket of unused thin set the crew dump in my grass on the wooden fence, in the water meter box anywhere. I was not able to communicate with them to stop it from happening over and over again. I now have harden thinset all over the side yard.

Yes it gets worse--when the Ceramic tile was installed, a different sub sub sub contractor did the job, a pleasant person no speak English, arrived with a new tile cutter (manual) right out of the box. (Should have locked the door) Still have the box in my yard waiting for the no show Empire Today manager. So new tool in the box, makes me wonder what kind of experience this installer has or doesn't have. Overall the job seem to go well but they did not have the proper tools, I provided a table to place their power wood cutting tools outside. The whole job seem being done by inexperienced sub sub sub contractors and the final outcome is proof. The ceramic tile is installed with the use of spacers, used to keep spacing between tiles uniform.

Spacers are removed after thinset cures, before grouting. Yes listen to this.. Omg some of the spacers were not removed completely and were grouted over. I kid you not. And immediately after grouting (wet grout) the crew used a hard coarse broom to sweep the floor and began to cut and install the molding around the wall. This action created an un smooth grout lines and the spacers that remain are sticking out of the grout lines today. Last day of the job which was the 4th day of a 3 day job, had to take another day off, the sub sub sub contractors hurried away barely a clean up, a quick review, I just wanted them out of here, so I was too nice in the final review.

I have contacted Empire Today managers and wonder if they too are sub sub sub contractors as I have not heard back from them in over a week. Must be busy following this crew on other jobs. Empire Today really needs to work on quality control and should qualify the selected contractors they send out to represent the company. No uniforms, throwing cigarette butts in customers yard, no clean up, using customers tools, flower pots, etc. I am in the business, I over see many jobs such as this daily, that what I do for a living. The worse thing a company can do is ignore a customer's concerns and make excuses as the answer. I would like this matter to be resolved as my install was March 25, 2019. Thank you for the format.

OMG! BEWARE OF EMPIRE TODAY. What a nightmare I have been through with Empire Today. It started off bad and got worse. I have five living room windows I ordered new shades for. I had to get a second window measurement because of the custom sizes. I had to chase Empire down to get the 2nd window measurements appointment. Then I had to call several times to get the installation date which was set for today, April 26th. They said they would arrive between 8 am and 6 pm and I would be called on installation day to get a better time frame.

I sat at home ALL DAY, turned down notary home loan closings because I was waiting for Empire to show up. I called them at 3:00 p.m. to find out when they were coming. I was told that I would get a callback. At 5:00 p.m. I called again and after a LONG hold was told that my window coverings order had not been delivered and for me to talk to the window treatment department this coming Monday. I will be on a jury by the way on Monday.

I waited all day today (4/26/2019) for NOTHING. They didn't even initiate the call to tell me about my order not being ready. LOUSY CUSTOMER SERVICE. I asked to speak to a supervisor and only got the Customer Call Center Supervisor, which was useless. I have to wait to speak to the Manager of the Window Treatment Department next week. I am so upset and frustrated. Don't do business with these people. After my window coverings are installed I will not do business with Empire Today ever again.

They did an excellent job and they were super. I would highly recommend the guys that did mine.

They came 2 hours before the time slot Given, which was no big deal. Took 4 hours to carpet 1 room and steps. There was a floor vent that was carpeted over and the vent left on the windowsill (I had someone else let them into my home to do the job and they didn’t realize before they left). When I called Empire to have them come back to fix it they originally told me it wouldn’t be for another week. I explained how unacceptable this was as to it’s a main room in our home and this was a major error on their part. She assured me someone would be out 2 days later on Saturday.

I received a phone call on Friday to say that they don’t have a crew In the area on Saturday and it Will have to wait until the following week. I have furniture being delivered Sunday morning so this will Not do. She once again said she would see what she can do. Not to mention I have 2 Small children and a dog and my one child stepped on an open staple they ripped up and didn’t clean up, when I inspected the area there were almost a handful of staples laying all over the floor. We went with Empire for an install on luxury vinyl plank flooring for our entire main level of our home. Sales guy was pretty great! He seemed honest and fair. He scheduled our install with no problem! However, he lied about how long the install would actually take. He told us 5/6 people would show up and it would take 3-4 hours. The day of install, only 2 guys showed up, and at 2pm.. and of course they weren’t able to finish the job so they had to come back the next day and it took them from 7am-12pm the filling day. We weren’t prepared for that so we had to juggle to rearrange our schedule that day. Install went great, the installers were very nice and hard working.

Then, a day later one of the rooms floor starts to bubble in several places. We called right away and tried to schedule an inspection. This is where things go crazy. Literally nobody would call us back. The sales guy went MIA, we got passed around to a bunch of different people and they kept telling us different days and THEN we finally scheduled the inspection and then they never showed up. So we called customer service, they were worthless. We finally got ahold of somebody in the local office, rescheduled the inspection and then didn’t show up a second time!

So we finally spoke to a manager, for them to reschedule the inspection and she finally came (only 1 person) to replace an entire room of flooring ... I’m so appalled that they take no blame, pass the customers off to another department and can’t be bothered to help a customer with damaged floors after only 1 day! Their customer service is absolutely terrible! Finally, somebody called me to ask if the inspector showed up. I told her yes and explained all the issues we’ve had and her response was “Ok, thanks for letting us know, just wanted to find out if she showed up”! Really?! They totally disregarded the entire situation. My husband and I are just appalled that a company can treat customers this way after spending so much money on floors!

Empire is a joke. The installers installed wrong carpet, damaged my walls, woodwork and broke furniture. According to Empire that the installers can do damage and that is fine. Because of their poor work, I will need to pay $1765 out of my pocket to repair the damage they did when I just had the house painted and woodwork done 2 years ago. They want their money up front before they do the work and then the customer has NO recourse to the poor workmanship they do. I sent pictures of the damage they did and they don't care. This is piss poor customer service. # Have carpet and flooring that stands behind their work 100% and buy local, IF EMPIRE SOUNDS GOOD, THEN IT IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE. If this is their profession then should know how to do the job without damages. The lack of customer service is also a JOKE.

However the installer failed to notify me until he ripped up my carpet and started the job, that the T Molding was out of stock and would possibly be finished the next day or Monday. I had to call the company to request status. Needless to say the manager has returned two phone calls in over a month and I am being told the parts are on back order. I received a call half recorded today 4/24/19 that they would be here this evening to finish my floor. However when I called for and arrival time I was told they received the wrong molding and will not be coming. I had to file another ticket for a callback!

I am so infuriated at the lack of communication, consideration, bad business practice and lack of courtesy! The thing that infuriated me the most is the started the job knowing they did not have all the parts to complete the job. My husband is sick and going through chemo treatments and we are both elder. This has caused us to stress on both of us! During the Easter season I had company arrive and see my unfinished floors and stubbing their toes on our unfinished floors! We are exasperated and just want our floor back together. I even suggested maybe they could lay a different floor that has all the parts to finish the job. They even denied us that!

I was NOT paid to do this review, hear me when I say the next sentence! Empire was THE BEST CHOICE EVER! I read and compared ALL 1000 reviews below mines and was SO worried to go with Empire Today because some or most of the reviews were so similar, but I experienced NONE of what these other customers went through. I compared Luna, Empire Today, Mills Carpet and another local capet installer near me. I am SUPER glad I chose Empire. Let's get into it....

    1. The installers called me 30 mins before they came and even called me (robo-called) the day before with the time frame.
    2. The installers came into my home, conducted a walkthrough before installation, showed me the carpet before installing, and told me they would move the furniture out of the way for me.
    3. Before installing the carpet, they even bolted down my subfloors so they would NOT creak or crack anymore when walking on them.
    4. Before installing they made sure I understood everything, all of this was BEFORE installing.
    5. After installation, they walked me through EACH room and made sure each corner, border and molding was met with carpet and no damages were done.

    6. After installation, they gave me a list of aftercare for my carpet and even gave me MORE staples in my steps since I have a cat that loves to scratch at my steps.

All of this was MY experience and this was after reading all those negative reviews. I went with my instinct and this was the best yet. They reduced my price before installation too when I met with the consultant. It was very expensive in the beginning. Not sure why but I named my price and we went from there. My carpet is fresh, stapled down, and I look forward to using them again.

When I put a level on the floor, the floor was level. Empire wanted an additional 520.00 to repair the floor with pro patch cement. The installers were mixing the cement even before they told me and my wife about the additional work. I am writing this review to warn any potential customers about final pricing, no review of contract, and additional costs at job site. I'm very satisfied with my experience with Empire Today. I've used them several times. They have put in rugs a couple of times. Recently, I had a new kitchen floor installed. It was vinyl and it's just one piece that they put in. I had a fire in my kitchen. It scorched my floor and I needed to get it replaced. Our new flooring is very nice and I like it. It's easy to clean and it doesn't really show the dirt too much.

Called them 8 times over the last week for clarification on issue we had and each time I called, someone was supposed to call back within 24 hours but never did. Each time I called I was told the phone request I had made was closed out and complete when I never received a phone call.

The salesperson never told us that our floor was uneven and will need an additional $1000 to do our floors. The installer mentioned that "This happens ALL the time". The sales person never looks at the entire floor. I called while the installers were there and wanted to cancel my order but they said they would not refund my 10% given. I have spoken to several folks but no one will help me. They tried to reduce the price but it would still include me paying an extra $950. My wife even recorded the conversation with the sales rep (with his approval) to prove he never look at the floor like the installer mentioned.

Updated on 05/02/2019: Maybe Empire Today thought I was satisfied with my complaint. I certainly didn’t notify anyone that I was. I wrote a review about a week ago regarding an installation that started failing last fall. I had also contacted Empire on the day of installation regarding a stain on the stairs that we just had refinished that was caused by installers McDonald’s cup that was left to sweat and leave a ring.

After six months of not hearing back I threw in the towel figuring they were never going to follow through. I was checking the web after hearing aid commercial for Empire Today to see if anyone else had similar complaints. That is when I found your site and decided to put one in myself. They finally paid for the damage that took place a year and a half ago, but never addressed the poor installation. Michelle ** stood behind their policy of one year warranty, even though there were numerous emails, calls and numerous dropped balls by this department. I spoke with Delmer, her installer this past Saturday. His explanation for the rippled carpet was that his help didn’t know how to use a power stretcher very well. Good to know.

I hired YesSir Services who came Monday and do the two worst areas, the hallway and my sons room. He stretched and cut off enough excess to carpet a closet. I spent a small fortune with Empire Today with a lousy result. Volume business with poor results and poor customer service. Only the original complaint from a year and a half ago was resolved. They refused to stand by their product installation.

I had them come out weeks after the installation to install two rooms in the basement. I even complimented them in an email regarding the installation, and later that year had to walk it back due to seam issues which were repaired. That was when Delmer asked me never to call his boss but to call him direct because they charge him back for repairs. I wish I had called him direct, because dealing with customer service yielded zero results. Would definitely not recommend this company to anyone. I have almost 3000 people across the country who I’m friends with on Facebook as well as my real estate investment network that I will be sharing this information with.

Original Review: I made a claim to Empire during the installation. We had just had our stairs refinished. I came home to find a sweating McDonald's drink cup on the stairs that belonged to one of the installers which left a stain. Forwarded photos as well as sent estimates for repair. Promises were made to follow up and resolve. This has been over a year. My carpet now has lumps everywhere and needs restretching. They have been out to fix seams a just weeks after install. Not impressed with service after the sale. If there was an option for half a star, I would have selected it.

I will eventually do the whole house in hardwood and will call and use this company again. The carpet people even rolled up, and left me a strip that was extra so I could use it downstairs. That kind of stuff is what counts and why I will use them again. The company will call and check on you and make sure you're satisfied along with the contractors will not leave unless you sign off and say they can leave. I like that!!

Went with Empire Today to have our old flooring removed and new flooring put in. Salesperson lied and said it would all be done in a week. Well three weeks later and numerous unsuccessful complaints, here we are with a torn up house. The workers, if they show up, turned on the AC units on and then down to 65 degrees clogging them up with the tile dust. Damaged baseboards then ask us, "Oh are you replacing the baseboards." Then have the gall to ask if they can use the roofers dumpster for their debris. I have filed complaints with the BBB and DBPR as well as contacted the reporter who did the story on them last year. They talk a big game but it is all false.

I have never gone out of my way to write a negative review for anything but this service was so atrocious that I do not want anyone else to have to experience it. If I could give this company less than one star, I would. Our experience with them was a complete disaster pretty much from start to finish. We are finishing our basement and used Empire to put in vinyl flooring in a small portion of the room and carpet in the rest. Given that they are a flooring company, this didn't seem like it should be a complicated task. In the end, it took over a month and a half for the job to be fully completed.

The first employee who came out to install the vinyl portion told us that our floor was too uneven and he'd have to sand the concrete down (something for which we were not quoted), then, this process took him most of the day and at the end, he didn't even install the transition piece (something that, at the time, didn't seem like a big deal). Then, the carpet people came. At first, it seemed like everything went well until my husband noticed a wet spot on one of our walls accompanied by a dent. Turns out that they damaged the wall and tried to patch it themselves without telling us. When we called to file a complaint about this (considering we were told if any damage was done, we would be reimbursed for whatever the cost is to fix it), we were told that someone would contact us within 24-48 hours. Yeah, still waiting on that call.

Then, we needed someone to come back to install a transition piece between the vinyl and carpet. We assumed that this would be a job should be pretty standard and there should be no discrepancies about how to go about installing a transition piece when flooring is literally all that they do. Unfortunately for us, that was an inaccurate, to put it mildly, assumption for us to make. The first crew they sent never showed. The second crew they sent were the wrong flooring people. The third crew said they could only do so much then the carpet people had to come back to finish it. The fourth crew said there was nothing more they could do and that a vinyl worker had to come back to fix it.

Finally, the FIFTH crew was able to get the job done (keep in mind that when they schedule a service with you, they expect you to be available ALL day and their robo call to alert you of the installer's arrival is not just misleading but is, in fact, a blatant lie). Meanwhile, as all of this is going on, we have filed multiple complaints and have been promised by multiple people that our complaints are listed at the "highest priority" and a manager will contact us. Again, still waiting on that call. At one point, a customer service representative even claimed that the manager called, left a voicemail, and because they never heard back from me, they had closed the complaint--that voicemail never existed. Needless to say, I will never use this company again and want to make sure that as many people as possible avoid their services again. It was a complete and utter nightmare.

We told him we were not interested in any other type of flooring so not to waste his time we looked at only one sample case of vinyl plank flooring. We ordered the colors we like and everything appeared to be in order. I reigned the form to get the job authorization and we waited for scheduling. The flooring was done in two different days we were told the product we selected was out of stock.

A different salesman showed up and my husband spoke with Pete and scheduled the flooring that was not out of stock! I’m talking with installation person and I’m informed the flooring is laminate and I called the company at three places Lansing, Grand Rapids, and Corporate to tell them in midst of installation that the wrong product is being installed! I was told that I esigned the contract and that they were standing by the hat the salesman entered in the computer!

I’m the customer and this is wrong! I should not have to suffer for the mistake of the salesman! I asked for vinyl plank flooring and I am forced to have wood laminate flooring! The kitchen was laid last week has bulging/bubbles at seams. The second installer took pictures and checked for space at wall edge but I am left with a wrong flooring and damage at install! Please make this right! Empire Today Flooring was my favorite and my Texas home had it! I was treated very well in Texas and not in Michigan this is wrong!!!

The installer did a terrible job cutting the flooring straight along the bathtub. The remedy suggested to fix this problem by Empire was to apply peel and stick caulk. The caulk is not staying in place. They came out and resealed the caulk along the flooring but it comes undone along the tub. They need to come out replace and cut the flooring properly along the bathtub. It is now April 2019. The installation manager is ignoring our emails and phone calls. The customer service that I have been experiencing is the worst. There was also an issue with the installers scratching my wood floor while moving the washer and drier out of the laundry room. A whole new estimate...but I had to go into a dialog with 2 other persons who did not agree with my request as a potential customer instead of $370.00 the cost (revenue would have been ~$1300.00.) After having this dialog. I cancelled the order and requested to return my initial refund ~$37.00. (I was told it would take 7-10 business days.)

On yesterday April 15, 2019 I called the corporate offices and on this morning someone called to say that a check would be mailed. Allow 15 business days to receive it. They asked about the laundry room off of the kitchen and I told them "No, just the hallway and kitchen." I walk into the other room and a half hour later hear one of them say "OH **." I walk into the kitchen only to see that they ripped up the floor in the laundry room....THE EXACT ROOM I TOLD THEM NOT TO DO. The guy turns to me and again asks "were we supposed to do the laundry room?" and again I tell him no. So now they spend the next two hours putting the floor back in the room they weren't supposed to touch before even starting the actual project. Fast forward to 11pm and they're still working on the kitchen and have a power saw running outside...AT 11PM on a weeknight when people have work in the morning and kids have school.

I ask them if they can come back tomorrow because they're being so loud and at this point, neighbors are complaining. They tell me no, they need to finish the job the same day. It eventually gets to the point where I'm in tears and begging them to bring the power saw inside so that my neighbors don't call the police after having them come by 3 times yelling for them to keep it down. They don't finish until after 12:30 at night (mind you I have to be up for work at 5) and leave the driveway a complete mess. The cops show up just as they're pulling away and it was the worst experience with a company ever. I complained to customer service and someone was supposed to call me and never did. Completely unprofessional company all around. Their price was almost the same as competitors, but their service and professionalism was subpar and not worth it.

October, 2018 I received two estimates for three rooms of hardwoods at my new condo. Zach ended up coming down about $1,000 from original quote. He didn’t know how to enter the reduced rate, so he marked ‘floating’ versus ‘glued down’ and in the comments section wrote that floor was to be glued down. Well, the installers put down a floating floor - which by the way sags in the sunroom. I had already agreed to have hardwood put in my mom’s sunroom before mine was put down. It was supposed to be done same day. Nope. They brought wrong color wood.

When mom’s floor was finished, it looked great. When the two guys left, they drove on neighbor’s yard and ruined her grass. I called the installers and the main guy came back with dirt and rake and tried to level out deep gullies. It had been raining for two weeks. Customer service was rude and acted dense. They kept repeating that I didn’t pay for glue-but I did. Zach had typed it in comments, because he didn’t know how to enter the price match. Company did knock $300 off my mom’s floor. I will NEVER use Empire Today again. Have given plenty of free advertising too.

Setting up an appointment to get a free quote was easy, the sales rep was extremely helpful and assisted in picking out the proper laminate flooring for my needs. However, when it came to the installation, it was SLOPPY. The lack of communication within this single department is ridiculous, and whenever I called with a concern, no one knew anything about it or had a solution. So, I got my floors installed and the molding looks cheap and plastic-y, and my stairs did not even get any molding at all.

Where the molding is cut looks and feels uneven and jagged. And furthermore, I was charged extra for the installers to lay concrete down in order to level my floors so that the laminate flooring would lay flat, however, MY FLOORS ARE LOPSIDED!!! And when the installer had arrived on site, I explained to him to be sure that I would be able to access my crawl space. Come to find out, he sealed it off entirely and I couldn't get access to my crawl space. So then I called to schedule someone to come back out and take a look at it, however two appointments in a row I was given an arrival window time of 8 AM and 6 PM, BUT NO ONE SHOWED UP! TWICE!!! So finally, third time's the charm.

Someone finally showed up today (ALMOST 2 MONTHS AFTER MY INSTALL), opened my crawl space, installed a handle (which I had to provide), but they did a sloppy job and installed it CROOKED. And now there is also damage done to the border around the crawlspace and the laminate is already separating. I tried to call back, no answer. No surprise to me. They already got my $15k, so obviously I don't matter to them anymore. Overall, not happy.

We chose flooring and carpet. When the flooring came to be delivered & installed, the installer let us know the sales rep had us select flooring that won't work with our house, and they had to leave without installing anything. We left a message for our sales rep and did not hear back - we called the next day and he let us know he no longer works for Empire. We then called Empire to check on A) getting a new quote for another type of flooring and B) to confirm the installation date of the carpet for our son's bedroom.

As of today (over 9 days later) we still have not heard back from a sales rep. Our son's carpet (we confirmed the date of the installation three times over the phone) was scheduled to be installed this morning. 8:30 am rolled around and still no phone call - when calling customer service we were told that yes April 10th is noted for our installation but a box is not "checked" so our carpet will not be installed today. We spent all day yesterday clearing out his room, including all his furniture. We were told a sales rep would call us. 2 hours & 2 more phone calls we initiated later, still no word from a sales rep or any idea of when/if my son's carpet will be installed. Not happy with this experience, and am dreading the process of canceling the order because if this is how they have treated us so far, what kind of customer service can we expect from the cancellation process?

I took off work for the in home estimate and they didn’t show up. After calling 3 times, I was told that they came and I wasn’t home. They asked if I was in a brick home with a white door. NOPE. They went to the wrong house, never called, and then said they couldn’t send anyone back out today. I’ve already lost money by missing work today. Customer service was very unhelpful and when I asked to talk to a supervisor they said they couldn’t get ahold of one and would call back in 24 hours. Will never do business with Empire. From what I’ve read they are very overpriced anyway. Oh well. Their loss.

They called in morning saying installer didn't show up today. CALLED AGAIN to reschedule. Waited and waited until I finally called 800 number asking what time somebody was going to show up. Apparently whoever I spoke to over the phone 2 days earlier never actually set the appointment. April 10 today, not done. All "managers" over the phone have not been helpful. WILL NEVER USE AGAIN. Please be careful as it took me two years to learn this. I had Empire put laminate in my whole house but two bedrooms two years ago. There were issues that they compensated me for, I thought but now am questioning. There were 3 1/2 boxes left over when they finished and they took them ALL! (There may have been more but I definitely saw that many sitting in my house) At the time I had no idea (dumb on my part) that they should be leaving what was left. Makes sense, I did pay for it. Today I had the remaining 2 rooms done and they left the extra boxes. I don’t in any way suspect that the workers took them. I’m sure they returned them to Empire. Bait and switch? I now know they measure for 10% over. There’s NO WAY they didn’t have one plank of laminate left over!

I paid Empire Today to recarpet a rental home. One of the workmen spilled black liquid on the carpet and couldn't get the stain out. The crew left and there wasn't anything I could do because Empire had already processed my credit card. Ten days later a new crew came - but only took photos of the stain and remeasured the room. Five days later a manager approved the carpet be replaced and the CS rep made an appt for the next day. I was told they'd be here in the am; at 4:30 pm Empire called to say they wouldn't be able to do the work today, and I'll have to begin the nightmare process to get the work rescheduled. It's been almost three weeks since I paid them.

The Empire requires full payment up front. Once they're paid, they'll do the work, and if it's successful, great. If it's not, it is a very frustrating experience to get poor/improper installation resolved. My salesperson has returned only one of my calls. Customer service reps have no authority except to say we'll get back to you. Staff doesn't call back when they say they're going to. It has been one of the worst customer service experiences I've had, especially when I think of how much I paid them.

I've been seeing Empire Today on TV and I needed somebody to come in and do the flooring and get it over with because I've been dealing with the person doing my house and trying to fix it after I bought it in October. The work still isn't finished and I wasn't going through all that with him. So, I decided to work with Empire and I had them install carpeting in the living room, two bedrooms and the hallway. The installation went quickly and took three hours, and they didn’t waste any time. I'm really satisfied with my experience with them. The new flooring has met my expectations and I like its color. I would tell people that I've used Empire and they've done a good job.

Absolutely disappointed in the way they are conducting business and of course when I ask to speak to a supervisor no one is available. I finally called them and they said they could have someone come but I had other plans and was aggravated by this time. I then went ahead and rescheduled for Sunday 4/7/19 between 11AM and 1PM, well on Saturday night at 7:11PM I received a voice message saying they had to cancel and I can call back to reschedule. This is the poorest customer service interaction. How is one to have next day installation if they cannot even get someone out to do step 1. I’m in the process of a remodel and my upstairs is done with the exception of new flooring, not to mention I’ve emptied rooms for the remodel which would make it easier but looking forward to start getting things back together.

After the I realized I had a message with the cancellation I started reading the write ups with the similar situations. I wish I had read them first as I wouldn’t have wasted my time and would have already had new flooring down if I went with a local flooring company or big box store. Now I need to start from the beginning. This is unprofessional!!! But I guess it tells a story. Would they stand behind their products after installation if there was an issue? I’m guessing NOT!!!

Empire, we choose them because of they had the best prices, and fit what we were looking for, but alas they were horrendous. They are nothing but problems!

The Installers for our laminate floors were scheduled to arrive on Tuesday, March 19th, and take no more than 2 days for the laminate and on the 3rd day the carpet would be installed on the stairs.

The crew that arrived did not speak English, when we had questions, they could or would only say “yes, no, or same stuff, no worries.” They spent 80% of the first day on their phones, and could not even finish the master bedroom and closet. We had just over 700 sq ft that needed the laminate. Not a huge amount. During the removal of base boards, they destroyed them; were not gentle and punched multiple holes through our walls, they cracked, shattered and maimed our baseboards. Then lost some of the smaller pieces, or maimed them so bad they destroyed them and they shattered. They had excessive waste of the laminate, and marked everything with a red sharpie, then used the marked boards in the closets. They left large enough gaps on the edges of some spaces that even with the maimed base boards you can still see the underlayment.

In one bedroom, my husband caught them laying the laminate without the underlayment, he made them pull the laminate up and lay the underlayment back down the way they were supposed to after they argued that he was wrong. Then, they moved heavy furniture and dragged it over the newly installed laminate. They scratched up a bedroom, so we made them replace all the scratched boards about 10 of them basically a whole case worth of boards. So even more wasted boards for their crappy work. I went out of my way and ran and got felt furniture pads, to protect our new floors! They refused to use them stating it was no good! After calling and voicing my issues to Empire on the second day, I was told to use google translate to communicate, and he has heard this complaint before and that is the best they could do. I demanded on the third day an English speaking person accompany them for our concerns and issues to be addressed.

Day two The Supervisor for the laminate came out for about 40 mins, let himself into our house unannounced and was just standing around. When we came down stairs he introduced himself to us. WE had to watch these men constantly or they tried to cut corners. In those 40 mins that the “boss” was there, we asked they fix the holes, but they had already started putting the destroyed and damaged base boards back up. So they patched above the baseboards…. Half ** fixed it.

Supervisor had them switch the underlayment in the last room. Kind of Fishy!!! Was not the same product we paid for and was a different feel and color! They did not nail all the baseboards down and a few are falling off the walls and hanging on with one nail to them. They left exposed saw, blade, tools and things just laying around on new floors with zero protection from scratching! When done they did not offer to move our heavy furniture back to where it belonged like it said they would in the contract. I just had Elbow surgery and cannot help my husband to move anything. So our house is sitting in disarray until everything is done. So for the last two week we have been waiting to put things back together. The installers left their garbage and debris lying around and they took what should have taken 1-2 days into 5!

On to Carpeting the stairs- Carpet was scheduled for 3/21/19, Carpet installers arrive with the wrong color! They supervisor then told us we are wrong, and this is what we ordered! Um no it is not. The contract guy, imputed the wrong color, so the carpet gets sent back, and contract guy sends in an order for the right color and we are told they will come back the next day. Next day, after hours of waiting we get a phone call, the carpet was never delivered! Yet another day wasted to them, and now we add another day, and they promise install for that Saturday. Install for carpet goes smoothly, it has been just two weeks and the carpet is pulling up on the stairs after vacuuming them, and the small landing is pulling up also! WHAT THE HELL.

After many calls and emails of our issues with pictures to back it up, we came to an agreement that they would replace the baseboards, and they promised a different company and people would show up for them. I scheduled the install for 4/6/19, low and behold is this a JOKE to Empire, they sent the damned supervisor from the same flooring company. First thing out of his mouth, “you have a problem with our work? What’s wrong with it?” We have called and complained again, and have once again put our home on hold to reschedule the base boards for next week 4/13/19.

Long story short 1. Destroyed baseboards, 2. Holes in walls, 3. Sharpie markers on some boards, 4. Gouges and scratched up new floors, 5. Horrid customer service, 6. Wrong carpet color ordered, 7. Did not move any furniture back, 8. Took 5 days to install, and now 3 weeks of waiting on baseboards, 9. Garbage left in our house. 10. Excessive waste. 11. Carpet is pulling up after vacuuming. 12. Everything is 3rd party installers and have massive language barriers.

However, I recently had my entire home redone and within a couple of months noticed shedding. It continued for a couple more months before it came significant enough to notify Empire. They responded quickly. I spoke to a CS rep and sent pictures - she responded with "it may be defective and will send a tech out". They sent 2 techs who took additional pictures and told me that they "have never seen anything like this before".

After some time I called CS to inquire about next steps. Here is where it gets real. They told me that they lost the pictures and tech report. After a couple more weeks they told me that the damage is pet related and not a warranty issue. I actually have a small bare spot in one area where several strands pulled out. I've had pets my entire life and NEVER have they caused damage. This product is damaged and Empire will not stand behind it.

I had an account with Empire and I had them install hardwood floor. They were fabulous because once they did my steps, I realized I needed to finish my upstairs so I called them and they immediately came right back out. My second experience was most definitely better than my first experience where Empire botched the entire installation of my downstairs. It was a three-day project that turned into a six-month endeavor. I had a quarter-inch engineered hardwood flooring in my kitchen. Empire didn’t take into consideration that the product I had down was different from the product that was going back down. The product that they brought in was ceramic which was much thinner than what I had. They ended up trying to caulk and shut all of my doors up where I had an inch and a half gap between my floor.

The problem was the time that this was going on, the same crew wasn’t coming out each time so it was a sloppy job. The bottom line was we made Empire aware of the problem and they still didn't correct it. We went back and forth to the point that they had to replace all of my door facings, door jams and my entire downstairs. It wasn’t good. I was happy before, but I was pissed afterward because all they had to do was just put another piece of subflooring down to make up the difference but they didn’t do that. In the end, Empire fixed the problem because we told them before the installation went down that this wasn’t going to work. Other than that, I'm fine with my steps and my whole house being hardwood, except my kitchen. It looks really good although the initial product I bought from Empire, they don’t make anymore so the color of my steps and my upstairs are different.

Wells Fargo did not approve our 12 month interest fee financing when we have not been turned down for credit is the last 4 years! This bank has a history of not being consumer friendly. Their repeated visits to Congress to answer charges on this is history.

Had I known this was their bank of choice I probably would not have purchased here. However our salesman was good, and convinced us that another bank would give us a 6 month interest free deal. We discussed the kitchen tile and subfloor, and how they needed to be pulled up. We talked about how the installers would level my floors, and the base molding I wanted. I was offered a $250 discount because they couldn't keep a date. The man tells me a price (4700), then when I agree he says, "I'm sorry it's going to be 4950ish" for whatever reason. He tells me they will come April 1st, in the morning, and it will be a 1-2 day job finished by Tuesday.

Fast forward to MONDAY April 1st. They show up at 1140, after I called 3x to find out what's going on. They tell me... ripping up the kitchen floor was not in my contract, and I was getting 1/4 round not base molding. NO. I am not paying 5k for cheap looking floors. They speak to a manager, and they say ok they'll come back Thurs and put the molding down, but finish the floors THAT DAY. Come 3pm they say they can't finish, but will come back SATURDAY the 6th. 6 days later. My entire downstairs is destroyed.

I called the company, the person who sold me the floors, the people installing. Everyone says a manager will call me back, but no-one has. I had to postpone my cabinet and appliance delivery because they said 2 days to finish, not a week. And apparently 2 days 5 days apart is okay. I have no kitchen, no living room, no dining room... NOTHING. I would not recommend this company. The contractors seem nice and hard working, but they are sub contracted. It seems like the company tries to give the smallest amount for the largest price. DO NOT USE EMPIRE!!

It started with an installer who came into the house and kept staring at me and then told me how beautiful my eyes were, a compliment is nice but not when someone is staring at you like a creepy pervert. Then he kept trying to stand really close to me while I filled out the paperwork, I ended up asking another contractor to stay and sign when the work was done so I could leave.

Of course once I left everything went downhill. The guys banged up all the trim that I recently had painted, they also knicked up several walls and did not finish the entryway areas as the salesperson and I had discussed, instead they tacked down scuffed up silver transition strip that looked terrible and bent. The carpet has big bubbles in the center of the room. I have pictures of the room before and after the install showing all the damage done to the walls and trim.

I am a property manager and this is the worst carpet install job I have ever dealt with. I will never use Empire again and I do not recommend anyone else does. The installers are not professional or appropriate. They do a terrible job installing and do not take pride in their work. I am afraid they will send the same pervert installer back to the job to make repairs so I will have to hire a bodyguard or another contractor to be at the house if I can even get Empire to pay attention to my claim. This company is dishonest, managers don't return calls, you are put on hold constantly and made to wait and then transferred to someone else and the calls are dropped and then you're told someone will call you back and they don't and you have to start over from scratch with someone else who can't find the name of who you talked to even though you tell them who it was... This was my experience with customer service.

Workers I dealt with did not know English and trying to converse with the managers and customer service and them was disastrous as noted above. Installers came in the wrong order. I had carpet, laminate, and ceramic tile. I was told the first day when workers came over that my job shouldn't have been scheduled as it was as far as the order of work and had to be rescheduled. This was just the first of so many things that didn't work out right and hours of aggravation on the phone with customer service people and managers whose names were supposedly not recorded or even working there when I tried to contact them later. Between the salesman and the installation manager, the two of them could not get anything right.

This company just blew my mind with all of the arrogance, nastiness from the installation coordinator whose name now is supposedly unrecognizable when attempting to contact him. He was so bitter and angry when having to talk to me and treated me like I was stupid and worth nothing. I was so glad to be able to stop discussions and all forms of contact with this lousy business where no one was ever accountable for anything.

So now, a year later and one of the laminate boards has separated about 1/4" so far, apparently from not being put down correctly. Already today I spent over an hour trying to get in touch with the original installation manager who no one can find on any of the paperwork or phone records. He avoided me like the plague having to deal with me before. They act like he never existed. I've been put on hold and redirected and put on hold and told twice I would receive a phone call within minutes and an hour after five minutes, no one ever bothered to call me back.

I refrained a year ago from complaining about this company, but I'm not holding back this time. I'm going to make it my mission to let as many people know from my first-hand experience that they do NOT want to deal with this company. It's not surprising one bit the number of complaints this company continues to rack up. Use anyone but Empire Flooring where no one wants to help. Don't be fooled into thinking by a nice speaking salesperson that all will be wonderful. IT WON'T BE. I see some great reviews but they are ones selected by Empire to show here. I don't believe them. And I wouldn't doubt that no one will ever see this one.

The company was very nice and gave me my $200.00 back! Lesson learned make sure you get the contract signed & initialed by the salesman saying they wave the 3 day CANCELING so you can another estimate!

    Original Review: April 1, 2019

Salesman was very charming! He gave me a estimated for 3 rooms on 3/21/19. I told him I had another estimate coming 4/2/19. He said, "No problem sign the contract now & when you get your estimate on 4/2/19 & you choose to go with the other co. you can cancel with us!" Don't take him by his word! When I called to cancel 4/1/19 that's right the other co. came early 3/30/19 they said I went passed the 3 day waiting period to cancel the contract! The salesman told me that it would be no problem to cancel! So now they told me that they are charging my credit card $200 & I would have a $200.00 credit with them to do more floor work! The other co. had more choices to choose from & they are doing another room & the price was much better! I can see charging the customer a fee of $25.00 like the other co. did if I didn't choose them but not $200.00 for doing nothing! What a scam! Salesman's word means nothing!

Contacted Empire immediately to explain the situation and was told someone would get back to us in 1-3 days to look into the matter. Now at day 4 and nothing. Check in after day and was told in short terms it would be 1-3 days no sense of urgency to address the matter. Now going to be difficult to match the carpet that was installed on floor leading into this room. They just have too many parties involved and no sense of urgency to address a Customer's concerns.

Empire Today installed carpet for the whole home. They put it in three bedrooms, the den, the living room, a hall and the steps. The boy that came to the home first to introduce us to the carpet was very mannerly and knowledgeable. They need to slow down a bit with the installation though. My husband had removed the furniture and they didn’t have a whole lot to do but to lay the carpet. They worked so hard and so fast that it was done in no time until they ran out of carpet and then they had to wait two days to come back and finish it. But other than that, we were pleased and I would recommend Empire Today.

I had Empire Today replace the floors on the lower level of the house. And that included a rug in the bedroom, a hallway, a living room, a dining room, and a kitchen. It went fairly well. The kitchen was done in December. I originally told them that I wasn't gonna do it until after the first of the year. They called me to say that they were ready to do it by the 4th of January, but I said that that was impossible. The kitchen took a whole day and they worked very hard. I was very concerned because they had to pull out an old unit that isn't made anymore. They pulled that out gently, laid the floor, and put it back in. When I asked them if they could leave me a few of the tiles, all they could come up with was one. I would've gladly paid for more so that I had some on hand in case anything happened, but Empire must've figured the count very closely.

I let them do the rug in the bedroom next. I told them I would have the living room and the hallway done by the end of January. I had to pack up everything breakable in the living room and the dining room and put it elsewhere. Then I called them and told them they could do the whole thing. They got here at 9:00 AM, started working and didn't leave until 9:00 PM. They were very good. They blocked off the kitchen area. There was a pass-through from the kitchen into the living room and they covered that with plastic. They did beautiful work. When it started snowing, they ended up having to do the sawing in the dining area. Everything got dusty, but I couldn't blame them for that. I'm very satisfied with the job they did. I'm very pleased with the quality of the flooring and the cost was worth it.

Updated on 06/25/2019: Start to finish experience went down fast. First few weeks the carpet looked great but immediately started matting up in high travel areas, although this is only upstairs bedroom and two people only. I contacted Empire and through a series of phone calls and them sending out investigators and me following their recommendations of a cleaning, then another hot water extraction cleaning (the carpet wasn’t dirty, just matted), there was never any improvement. The last company that did the hot water extraction cleaning pulled up a corner to show me the padding. Even though I paid for an extra thick quality pad, the one I got is paper thin. That is the reason for the matting. There was never a follow up by Empire after the last recommended cleaning before they could “resolve” the issue. I was done with them by that time anyway.

Updated on 03/28/2019: Since writing a poor review on carpet installation (quality of the carpet) I have gotten voice messages on my phone, which I spent a good 20 minutes yesterday trying to return, with no answer. My opinion that Empire cares a lot about negative reviews, but nothing about real customer service remains stronger than ever. I finally called back again today (a different extension) and was told that the person who left the voicemail, is still unavailable. I honestly don't expect any customer service at this point. I don't want to hear from Empire ever again.

Original review: After just four years (and I wrote a similar review last year) our bedroom carpet looks worse than the carpet that was 25 years old when we moved in. When I complained and asked for someone to come out and look at it, the technician who came out agreed with me. It's terrible. Afterwards, I spoke to the company about it and was told we shouldn't have gone barefoot on the bedroom carpet because the oil from our feet will damage it. Really? I have an Electrolux vacuum cleaner and I vacuum at least twice a week. They told me I should get a different vacuum cleaner, as well. Really? No one told me about bare feet and a certain vacuum when it was installed. They offered to replace it at the same amount I paid in the first place. Really? This company and their products are horrible. The only time they slightly paid attention to my complaint was when I threatened to put all my complaints on social media.

We purchased the luxury plank vinyl about a year ago. The installer came with the wrong item, not a huge deal, but it took another week to get it sorted out. When they came out we found out they are simply 1099 contractors so the 'warranty' is provided by them at no charge. The installer was nice and courteous, they tried to leave with holes in every corner not caulked exposing the concrete below. The biggest reason we got this floor was for the water protection so being 'sealed' was the most important.

Since then we have had different installers here 3 times. They have had to replace the crown molding, it's paper covered so it peels back. We had a weird 'batch' in the middle of the floor that was discolored from everything else, and it had to be replaced. My wife's office chair was blamed for cracking one under her desk and we were now told that you cannot use a rolling chair on a floor? Ok, that wasn't anywhere in the fine print.

We financed for 1 year, have fully paid, and still 15 months post install we have numerous quality issues. Right now we are fighting to have the plank replaced (that's been broke for almost 7 months) where my wife's chair is (she is 110 lbs with a computer desk chair). We have more molding that is peeling in numerous places (closet, pantry, kitchen floor, living room). Some of the planks that were replaced are now starting to 'lift' or separate. It looks as if they werent locked in all the way maybe? Hard to tell for sure. My wife is considering an attorney and taking all of the correspondence up to the states AG. Right now we were told a 3rd party assessment was done, we have to 'agree' to the findings including no rolling chairs on the floor, but yet we are not allowed to see it or review the 3rd party assessment ourselves. Stay tuned...

We had new vinyl flooring installed over the weekend. Our sales rep was very attentive until the day the flooring arrived. I have been waiting for over a week for the measurements of our dining room. And for some reason they will not give us an itemized breakdown of our cost. Which is starting to make me believe they are hiding something in their fees. I also feel like the sales rep scammed us into having them move the furniture probably for additional fees.

At our appointment we said we would move our furniture and he kept saying, "No we take care of it and if we break something we will replace it." Anytime we brought up the fact that we wanted to move the furniture he changed the subject. The day the flooring arrived we got an email saying, "Make sure your room is cleared out unless arrangements were made at time of purchase." I think at this point it is safe to assume they don't want us knowing that we paid extra for these services. Today will be my fifth request for an itemized receipt. Hopefully five days has given them enough time to fudge their numbers.

We called numerous times, again we never talk to the same person, that finally said they would send someone out to repair the damage. Had to take off work and wait for hours and no one showed up even after a call saying they would be there within the hour. Over a week later and they still have not set up a new time for the repairs. Everything was fine with Empire Today. I saw Empire on TV, contacted them and they made a date to come over the next day. I had them install vinyl flooring in three bedrooms, living room, and hallway. It only took them two days to put the flooring down. I love the vinyl flooring. Empire did a very good job and I would recommend them. I’ve been to Lumber Liquidators and Home Depot and they wanted the same amount, so they're comparable. Everybody was saying that Empire was so expensive but they were not.

Empire did refund our full down payment. I revised the rating up to two stars because of their response, but I am still upset with the experience and most likely will not work with them in the future. They need to either train their sales people, so that they can sell knowledgeably, or send out a contractor with them on their sales calls, so that they would have known before the sale that hardwood floors would not have worked in our home.

Also, the customer service woman we initially talked to was abrasive, rude and unresponsive to our concerns about the down payment. Granted, I was irate myself after being told that we weren't going to receive any of our money back, but even after explaining to her that Empire could not provide us with the product we contracted for, she said that she basically didn't care because we signed a contract. I'm glad Empire decided to do the right thing.

We just ordered hardwood floors for our home. Contractors came out on Wednesday and told us that they couldn’t install hardwood floors everywhere we wanted to because part of the floor wasn’t level. Fine, so we reordered carpet for part of the home, and kept hardwood for our kitchen and living room. Then another Empire crew came out today and told us they couldn’t put hardwood in the kitchen and living room. So, we wanted to cancel the order.

Unfortunately, we put a $2,400 deposit down for the hardwood floors. Even though Empire can’t deliver the hardwood floors as we originally ordered, they wanted to keep our $2,400 deposit. They said that since their team provided us with a solution that Empire is under no obligation to give us our money back since they could install the floors if they follow their solution.

Their solution involves another general contractor not with Empire to come out and basically lift our home to fix the joists in our home that are creating the problems with the floor, which could lead to cracks in the home. So, basically Empire is holding us hostage to install carpeting in our home. I’m reaching out to a lawyer to find out what my options are, and I suggest anyone interested in Empire should reconsider.

To start, we received a phone call from Empire at 7:30 AM this morning to let us know they would arrive in about an hour. I finished up packing last minute items. I took vacation days in order to complete moving and packing things up to make it easier for them. At 9:00 the phone rang. It was Empire. Thinking they were just letting us know they were here....HA! They said the truck broke down and they were unable to come...WHAT!!! I took vacation days, packed everything up and they're not coming!!! I even bought the men breakfast and lunch. What a waste of money! Didn't they think to perhaps borrow a truck, rent a truck?? Guess they don't care if they come or not. Needless to say, we cancelled! So, if I could give them less than one star, I would. Good thing it's the weekend. I will need it to put everything back. Thank you Empire!

Empire may do a great job with installation and price, however I will never know this for sure. I had an appointment for 3/21/19 between 7-9pm and the salesman never showed up or called. When I called Empire today they said I was listed as not being home. My wife, children and I were all home the entire night, and they do have my cell phone number as well. It sounded more to me like no one wanted to come out and didn’t even give us the courtesy of a phone call. As I said Empire themselves may do great work, but I’m going to go with someone who shows up.

An honest review!!! Originally I had carpet installed in my living room because it was becoming unbearably worn-out. I was referred to Empire by a friend that said her experience with Empire was great. So after I gave them a call my sales rep sold me the most beautiful carpet ever. I was concerned the other rooms wouldn’t match but I was quickly reassured that it would be a perfect match. Well it was not! I was so upset. The old carpet was hideous and unsightly (two different colors and textures.

After speaking with Empire's very professional customer service reps, I was sent over to a supervisor. This is were I began to appreciate how courteous, patient, timely, and professional Empire truly is. They actually listened to my complaint and fixed the problem immediately!!! I love my new carpet!!! The installation was over in 60mins, the workers are honest people (Military serviceman)! I felt safe during the installation and extremely satisfied afterwards! Empire will forever be my flooring company because they actually care about their clients!

I heard that Empire Today was good. One of the salespersons came out and showed me some of the products. I liked what he showed me and I had arranged for the floors and stuff to be done. He was a very nice salesman and the representatives were great. I had the floors, carpet on my stairs, and blinds installed by Empire and I liked the job that they did. Three or four guys came to do the floor and they finished in one day. Then, they came back the next day and the work was done in half a day. They were very nice and were good, hard workers. The process was fine, but I was having problems with the blinds at first because when I opened them up, they didn’t open all the way sometimes. Someone came out last week and he showed me what I had to do with the blinds when they don’t turn. Other than that, everything is holding up so far.

Empire is a very good company that supplies very nice fabric. However, I bought a light-color rug for my staircase and it got so filthy. I should’ve never gotten that color and I wanna go with a different color now. The quality of the floors is beautiful. I had someone come here and wax them. They shine and it is so beautiful. The floors are really nice once you put the polish on them. Empire is a little expensive, but I would tell my friends that I did business with Empire and if they are looking to get their floors or their carpet done, I’d recommend that they call Empire because they did very good service.

I would recommend to NOT use Empire due to our exceedingly less than good experience. First off, Empire's brochure is misleading, it shows people in Empire uniforms. That is a lie. The people they get to install your floors are most likely the ones that are waiting at the driveway corner of Home Depot. The people that installed our flooring did not know English, therefore, you could not communicate with them, which they took advantage of and would do things without your knowledge, and then add that to your already quoted price, which makes the contract you signed with the quoted price a lie. With what extremely broken English one of the installers was able to babble out, he tells you that they didn't bring enough padding to put under the flooring, and says it'll be a total of $50, $5 per roll and they supposedly need 10 more rolls. How on earth do they not bring enough supplies for X amount of square footage to begin with??

Then the next day they come back and say they need all these extra bags of cement, and NO black padding, and want to charge an extra $20 per bag of cement, which also mind you, they supposedly slathered all over the floor without telling us in the first place, and had it all nice and covered up with the flooring so we couldn't see the product they supposedly used. Then the manager pretends they are doing us a favor by doing our closets, which also mind you, was already included in the square footage of what was being done! I guess they can't read English either.

We contacted the representative who came by our house, who sold us a load of BS apparently, and he assured us multiple times that we would ONLY be paying the QUOTED price, and that the only way they could charge more would be for US to sign a new contract, load of BS. Surprise! Nice new charge added on the credit card for the extra "supplies" the Home Depot driveway crew supposedly needed. I sure hope they put all the leftover cement and flooring to good use because they sure didn't give us the full amount of leftovers. We also let them use our garage to store their junk in over the three days it took them to do the floors, oh yeah, we were also quoted that it would only take a full day for them to do. Then they damaged the epoxy floor in our garage with their tools and left SO MUCH saw dust in our garage, and IN OUR HOUSE, that it took DAYS TO CLEAN UP FULLY!!

Now we've noticed that we have a nice bubble under the some of the panels on our floor, and I bet Empire isn't going to honor the "warranty" the floor comes with either. We did have intentions of using this "company" to have other things done on our house in the future, but that sure as heck won't be happening. I have told quite a few people to avoid this company by all means, you should too.

I've had a laminated wood floor installed by Empire Today in my dining room and I am so pissed off with this floor. It looked like an unprofessional person had put it down. I have guardrails on my floor because I have a sunken living room and they cut a big hole around one thing and not around the other thing. It's the same with my kitchen. I even stopped paying them. They had me on a collection plan and I'm not gonna end up paying them all what they wanted. Every 27th of the month, I give these people $51 and I’m gonna do that for 10 months. If they would send somebody out to check the floor, that person would say, "This lady is so right."

In addition to that, the contractor sent these Dominicans, the Puerto Ricans, and the Caribbeans to do the work, and you don’t understand a thing they said because they spoke in Spanish. You try to talk to them and they don’t speak that much English. It’s just crazy. I also had a situation when I had a flood and my landlord had to pay for my carpet. I asked Empire to send me the papers, as well as the bills but these people never got back to me. They didn’t e-mail my husband anything. And so I'm done with Empire. My 14 year old grandson lives with me. He was ill and threw up during the night. Not wanting to wake me up he took it upon himself to clean up the mess with bleach, which has left a orange mark on the guest bedroom carpet. The next day Matt called and said it was his day off and would call me back the next day to make an appointment. He never did.

March 6, 2019 called Yolanda to get a status of the appointment, she put me on hold to check. I was on hold for 10+ minutes. I finally hung up. 3/7/2019 I sent an email to the customer service Manager Aneth **, Install Manager Ryan **, as well as the carpet installer coordinator Sergio **, together with a picture of the carpet stain, requesting a rep. To advise me of the best way to remove the stain as cleaning will not remove the stain. To date I have not had a response from anyone of these email recipients. Empire Today installed vinyl snap together wood-look floor in my kitchen and it was good. They came in and took up the old floor and they put some kind of board down, then they put the laminate floor down. They then cleaned up before they left. The molding around the edges which I thought was gonna be wooden, is not though. It's just fake wood trim. It looks nice and it looked beautiful when they left but I did not realize that it was not true wood. I'm sure that one day I'll have to replace it because we have an island and it's around the island in a lot of corners or around the cabinets. It’s starting to have marks from everyday use. I wish they had put wood down instead of that composite.

I was gonna have them do another room too with carpeting and they came the next day to do it but when I picked the carpet out, I thought it was blue and I realized that it was gray as gray could be. They were nice enough though to cancel the order and take it back. I shopped elsewhere for that carpeting and I realized then when I looked at their laminate flooring that I should have shopped around a little bit. I thought that Empire Today was the cheapest but I found out that they were not. Where I had the carpet installed, it was 1/3 the price less as what I was quoted by Empire. Empire was a little pricey. Other than that, I’m happy with the product. It looks good. I like the coloring and the easy cleanup. We had carpeting which is not a good thing to have in a kitchen, so I'm glad that we don’t have that anymore.

I was told you would call within 24 hours. It is now March 15, 2019, and no one form your company has called me to resolve this issue. I attempted numerous times to speak with you but you will not call.

Original review: I contacted Empire Flooring on for professional installation of engineered wood flooring in my living room, stairs, and upstairs hallway installed over a moisture barrier. I spoke w/ your salesperson and signed the contract for installation on 02/09/2019. The floors and stairs were installed over a 3 day period 02/19/2019 thru 02/21/2019. I phoned to complain about the install of the flooring on 02/23/2019. The floor is moving; thus, it is not stationary. In addition the installer got glue all over it. They tried to clean the glue up with an acetone base solvent; this is what the installer said they were using to remove the glue. This solvent took the satin finish off and turned white and in some places dissolved/melted the finish. The melted finish appears as if the floor is dirty and will not come up.

While installing the stairs they cut one of the bullnoses in half and still installed it; it is sharp and can cut your foot coming up or going down the stairs because it does not line up. I have taken off work on numerous dates to get resolution. On one occasion they were scheduled to come to my home between 9a.m.-12p.m. on 02/27/2019 they arrived at 10 minutes to 6 p.m. When they arrived and looked at the floor they stated the damage is more extensive than we first thought but did not tell me what was going to be done. On 02/09/2019 the original installers came back and stated they would have to take up the moisture barrier and glue the floor to the concrete; which is not what I paid and asked for. They did not do anything and phoned the office.

I spoke with the office and stated I need to know what is going to be done stating this is not professional. I also stated the installers need to know what they are coming to do. I was told a contractor would come to my home between 9am and 12pm on 03/20/2019. I phoned today 03/20/2019 at 11:00pm and stated a contractor is scheduled to come to my home between 9am and 12pm. The office told me there is no one scheduled to come to your home and provided a reference # ** for the call and my complaint. I am expected to pay 9 thousand dollars for a floor that has been destroyed by your installer. I have already paid 1 thousand dollar as a down payment. I want what I am paying for a new professionally installed floor. Furthermore, they did not install the transitional molding between the living room and the kitchen.

When asked for the transitional molding the installers said they did not have it. Every time Empire states they are sending someone we have moved the furniture so they can see the floor. Yeah we had already put felt on the legs of everything so we are not damaging the floor and we are picking up the furniture, we are not sliding it across the wood flooring. I am attaching photos to show you examples of what I am talking about. I am only sending a few pictures; however, the damage is all over the floor and stair landings. After speaking with the office I called the sale person and told him what is going on and he said he would call me back. That was approximately an hour ago and he has not called back. I thinking I have to get an attorney to resolve these issues.

Empire Today installed carpeting in the three bedrooms of my home and everything about it was very satisfactory. The carpet has met my expectations. I was looking for a color that would not be the regular color that you see in a rental and yet, I didn't want it to be very light nor very dark. So this color was like a sand color. The feeling I wanted to get when I'm in my room, or my daughter in her room, was that we're back at the beach. And it does feel that way. I expressed this to the two young men who came to install it, and I was so happy they were here because they understood my sentiment. Once they were almost done, they called me up and said they could hear the ocean. They were very in tune with what I expressed to them. It made me feel like they really cared and that's very odd nowadays.

The carpet looks good and after it got installed, the room looked even better. I am satisfied with the quality and I am especially satisfied with the two young men who came to install. They were very polite, very hardworking and professional. Whenever in doubt, they called their company to verify, which was good. One of them left their charging cord and I hope they weren't in any way hurt by me calling to let people know. I had allowed them because I understood that they needed to do it due to the constant calling to the office. We had a few changes from the installation and they needed to verify that that was the case.

Two gentlemen came in for the installation and they were neat. I just sat in the living room and watched a movie and they were done in a little over two hours. The price was fair and the materials were nice. Plus I like the color.

My girlfriend had Empire install carpeting in her condo and they did a great job. I couldn't wait to use Empire to install new carpeting in the house that I rent. It was in dire need of new flooring. I made an appointment. When the day came, I received a call from my salesperson telling me that he had been double-booked and would not be able to make the appointment. We rescheduled for a day or two later. He was very apologetic and accommodating on the rescheduled appointment. When we got together, the process was very smooth and the price very fair and we made the deal and scheduled the install.

When the day came for the install, I got a call from the installer confirming his arrival time. But, later, Empire called telling me that the installer's truck broke down and he wouldn't be able to make the appointment. We rescheduled... As this was happening, I recalled that my girlfriend got the same call - the installer couldn't make the original appointment because his truck broke down.

Finally, we all got it together and the carpet was installed. It looked great in the pictures my son sent me! But, when I got home, I noticed an obvious seam sticking up in the middle of the hallway. I called my sales guy and he suggested I call customer service. I called customer service and they sent someone out the next day to look. That guy looked at the problem and said that that is the way it is because it's a seam and that there is nothing he can do to make it better. I called my sales guy and he came out a couple of days later to look. I talked with him the next day and he said he couldn't see much because it was in the evening, but he will deal with customer service and present my case. At this point, I feel I am just being ignored and that Empire is hoping that I'll give up my concern and go away. I get emails asking for a review but I am waiting to see how this works out. If they take care of it, it will be a great review based on the end product.

I had to get a babysitter to come to look after our kid because my wife was sick and the estimate I was getting was at my rental. They called me next day again right about an hour before the appointment to move the appointment for the next time. Again, my wife was still sick and I had to arrange for a babysitter and messed everything up. I would never do a business with these unprofessional people who have no regards for other peoples' time.

I am not even sure where to begin. We had carpet installed in two bedrooms and laminate flooring in two bathrooms, kitchen, family room and dining room area. This was in a rental unit that we owned. The salesperson was fine and the installation seemed to go well until we started having problems. Our tenants did not let us know for a couple of months after the installation that the there was a leak in the bathroom since the installation. I am not sure they even knew there was a leak because it was leaking under the toilet.

We contacted Customer Service as soon as we knew this was an issue. Played phone tag with her and finally got something scheduled for them to review the situation. The installer went out and claimed the leak was from kids splashing in the tub and the water was going over the side of the tub, which was not true, turns out the flange on the toilet had been broken when they put the toilet back in. We did not know this at first and tried to have them fix the toilet and install new floors that had been ruined by this leak, it was obvious when we went there that the toilet was the problem. Empire indicated that we contacted them too late and so we would have to pay for the new floors and installation. They then said they would cover half so we agreed.

In the meantime the hot water heater burst in this unit and we had more water in the condo and had to open an insurance claim to get more flooring fixed so cancelled the installation in the bathroom. So our team that was repairing all the damage, contacted Empire to purchase flooring to match since we did not need that much to fix the damage. Guess what? Empire will never just sell the product, you have to pay them to install as well. So we had to pull all of their product that we are still paying for and replace with another flooring. When they reinstalled the toilet they indicated that it was leaking because the flange was broken and obviously had been broken since Empire put the toilet back in and was the original issue to begin with.

In addition, we spoke to the the guy over Customer Service in Colorado many times and he is one slick guy, knows exactly what to say to not have to work with customers and to get them to pay more and more. Not rude, just firm and says he will do everything he can to work with us, but obviously, that was not the case. It was difficult to get him on the phone as well. If you notice on their website, not much for customer service as far as contact information, they make it difficult to reach someone. After this experience, I WILL NEVER USE EMPIRE FLOORING EVER AGAIN!!! And I was going to, but realize what a racket they are. Maybe if you never have an issue they work, but if you do, beware! We paid $7,700.00 for all of this nonsense.

I didn’t have to go through a bunch of other stuff to get the flooring in and get them to put it down. Empire took care of everything and their rep was great. The installation went well. The installers were clean, very thorough, and very conscientious about the work. The whole project took two days to be completed, and the new flooring meets my expectation, more than double. I had my carpet done about 19 months ago. The first time they installed it they did a horrible job. I called and they sent someone out and told me they could not fix it. Then I did a review and posted the pictures and they immediately called and sent out another person and they had to replace the carpeting in my living room and stairways. I was pleased in the beginning although they didnt have my original carpeting, they had to use different colors, styles. Now I see it probably was a cheaper carpet, even though I paid more for the original carpet. It is already matted down looking old. Anyhow the stairways are looking horrid with the padding already moving inches away from the step itself.

They cut it and one part and going up the stairway and if you are not paying attention your toe gets caught in the nails holding the bottom step, then they restarted the carpet. Hard to explain. Hopefully I can upload pictures. At this point I can care less about having someone come out and replace it again. I would rather have my money back. Take your business elsewhere, this company uses cheap labor and honestly could have had my husband do it since it looks horrible. I do want to add my living room is pretty big and when they tore out the carpet to replace it the padding was taped together! I did snap a picture of that. Most embarrassing is when people come over and notice what a horrible job they did. I do tell them to avoid Empire Today.

When I was shopping for a new carpet I decided on Empire instead of the local stores thinking Empire would be more professional. The commercials, nor the Empire representative that comes to do the installation estimate, tell you that the work is outsourced to NON-Empire low budget carpet stores. The outsourced company came in an unmarked van with no company logos and the only thing tying them to Empire was the tablet in their hand containing my containing my contract. I live on the second floor of a private house and they threw the old carpeting down the stairs causing $450 worth of damage to the staircase overhang. Also, not noticing until after they left, a jar of coins worth approximately $400 was stolen by them from one of the newly carpeted rooms. Lastly, they didn't finish putting the doorway brackets in due to them "not having the proper tools".

It took (4) calls to a customer service manager to get reimbursed for the damage and after several more calls I gave up trying to get someone out to my apartment to finish the bracketing; as it was never completed. Empire management informed me that they don't tell their new customers that the work is outsourced which in my eyes is false advertising and underhanded. Empire offered only unapologetic apologies and no compensation for my monetary loss, unfinished installation and aggravation. In conclusion: DO NOT purchase from Empire and if you decide to, ask why they outsource their work to low level carpet places without background screen checks.

We have 2 dogs and chose a vinyl flooring per the sale reps suggestions. We were told that the floors we picked were the best for pets because they have a water resistant seal that could hold for 12 hours. Here is the first problem, we had a spot pop up in our kitchen. We thought it was from the dog but there was no evidence of any such accident from the dog. So we assumed it was from the ice maker dropping a piece of ice and melting. If that was the cause it would have only been there for max of an hour while my wife took our child to school. We called customer service and got the runaround and voicemail after voicemail was left.

After around 4 days we got a call back and was told there was no warranty for such complaint and that the floors were not water resistant for 12 hours if any. Then we were told we had to buy more bundles of flooring for repair at a cost of $300 plus per bundle plus install. Then when repairman shows he put a transition strip piece over the spot and glued it down. That was not the resolution we were asking for. Then I try to call customer service again and for another 3-5 days did not receive a call so I left a message for a call, still nothing nothing has been resolved.

We had the floors installed in late October or 2018. We spent close to Ten Thousand on the floors and install and my wife and I have determined that using a Empire to do the install was the worst financial mistake we have ever made. Empire customer service was very poor and the salesman that sold us the floors/lies should be ashamed of how they handled this. I personally have thought of paying a local flooring company to come through and inspect the flooring for install flaws and to check the water resistant claim/lie we were sold. All in all we are very disappointed in the Empire flooring company and are upset with ourselves for not choosing a local reputable flooring company.

Received call from Empire offering 10% credit to resolve our issues. As of today we received a $125 credit, not the 10% offered.

Original Review: (First day Fri) Came out, ripped up carpet for hardwood floor. Found out after that they had received 2 different colors and had to reorder more of the correct color. Living room furniture had been removed & put in kitchen. (Day 2 Sat) Bedroom furniture was removed and beds taken down. Carpet was to be installed in bedroom. Old carpet and pad removed, but did not have enough new pad and had to order more for a different day. Roll of new carpet stored in garage and was noticed by installer that a hole was in it so he was going to order another roll.

Came back on Mon and installed pad and carpet with hole in it. Said he would return to install new carpet later. Installers came back on Tues to install carpet and wood but could not install both at same time. Carpet guy left. Installed wood but could not finish because did not have enough transition pieces. They would have to get more and come back. Billy called from OKC on Wed and ask our version of story. Said he was going to Tulsa for meeting to discuss problem. Did not hear back from him. New carpet was put down on Thurs.

On Saturday they finished up transition pieces. A two day job turned into a 9 day job of furniture being in our kitchen and bathroom and having to use our guest bedroom. Mention was made of being compensated for our trouble but have not heard nothing on this. We did leave a review on Empire and someone called but wanted us to prove we had paid for the 10 bags of grout delivered, not used, they took grout back and was not really interested in the rest of the problems. We have tried several times to contact someone that we originally talked to (both sales and installation people), but have yet to receive any call back. Very unprofessional.

I was surprised that only one guy came. I thought that a team of people would come but he did a great job and he was able to do all on his own. Overall, I had a good experience with Empire Today.

We looked at a few things but we saw Empire Today's advertisement and they had a real good sale. So, we called them in for a consult and the guy that came out was very nice. He seemed very knowledgeable, showed us the different options, and answered our questions. He did a good job and tried to get us the best deal that we could get for the product that we chose. He was also very personable, so we decided to do it with them.

We had a laminate flooring installed in the dining room, the living room, down the hall, a short hall, and a study. We liked the color of the flooring and that it was supposed to be really good grade quality. And Empire had the great guarantee. We had carpet before and I liked it but when you’ve got dogs and grandkids, and you yourself make messes, the carpet got to looking bad. So, we thought we’d go with the laminate.

The installation went well, too. When the installers came in, they introduced themselves and they did a great job. They told me to take the stuff out of my buffet and off of the shelves, so when they moved those, it’d be a little easier. But when they came in, I still had a couple little things that I wanted to get out of the way that I hadn’t moved yet. The installers said it was not a problem and that they'd help me. Then they got those little things up, started moving furniture, and got that done. Then they started working and they worked well. I enjoyed them and they looked happy. One of the young men even came up and asked if I would mind if they listened to some music. It was very nice of him that he asked for permission and didn’t just automatically do it. Aside from that, when we had a question, they would tell us about it. Everything was left nice and they gave us some tips to make sure about the cleaning.

The laminate I got from Empire looks like wood, and it looks like my old floors from the 60's, so I love it. I like that it looks natural just like my old floors, and cleaning them seems like it’ll be easy. We had the flooring put in two bedrooms. And the only thing is in the smaller bedroom, they put a different color than what they used for my bedroom on that thing you put in the doorway. It belongs to another color of laminate. My husband said it’s a darker color, and it’s supposed to be light oak. I should have told them that when they called me a couple of weeks ago to see if I was satisfied with everything. It would be nice if I got the right color for that thing. But other than that, I like Empire Today. They were very good, and the three men who came were speedy and neat.

We dropped a cool $9500.00 on flooring for two bathrooms, a dressing room, bedroom, kitchen/dining, living room and hallway. Initially, we were quoted just about 9K for the project. Due to Hurricane Florence we had to replace much of the subfloor in our home, so by the time the installers came, we had been living in a torn up home for about a month. When our installation date arrived, we were told that the flooring we had chosen would not work because it didn’t have enough give to be installed. We appreciated the installer’s honesty. This was on November 30, which was a Friday. We had to schedule our salesman to come back out the following Monday to re-select most of our flooring. The installers were able to do the two bathrooms and the dressing room, and that was great.

The following Monday, our salesman returned and we selected a better grade flooring for the same price. This impressed us, as did his claim that if we had any issues after installation, we were to call him, and not Empire. We were also told that the flooring we chose would come with an underlayment, which was great. The next day, the installation team arrived and we were then told that the flooring did NOT come with an underlayment, and that we needed quarter inch plywood throughout in order for the flooring to be installed. There went another $500.00!

Long story shorter, it was December 10 before the flooring was completely installed. There was trash left in both bathtubs, in the yard, some of the quarter round was missing in a corner of the living room, grout missing between the tiles in the master bath, cement stuck to the tile tops in the dressing room, and our dishwasher was not reinstalled properly. So that if it was loaded, and either rack was pulled out, the appliance would fall forward to the point where the door hit the floor. We waited until after the holidays to try to reinstall the dishwasher ourselves, and when we did, we could clearly see a large portion of subfloor was exposed.

Last month we contacted our salesman and told him what was wrong and he said he’d get right back to us. He didn’t. When we call, it goes straight to voicemail. For a lifetime warranty and service after the sale, we feel that this is pathetic, especially after spending almost ten grand on flooring. While the floor looks great and our friends ask who did it, we tell them that we would not recommend Empire for their flooring needs, given the ongoing fiasco we are still dealing with into March!

It was time to redo the floors. We had carpet in the house and we decided to upgrade. It was something that my mother wanted. We purchased hardwood floors from Empire Today. We considered other flooring brands but Empire had the better price. The installation of the new flooring was fairly simple. This was done in the living room, hallway, and two bedrooms. The installers were done with the work in a day. They moved the big furniture and all I had to do was move the little stuff.

I like the flooring that was installed by Empire. The only thing is that the transition strips are coming up in two areas. I already have somebody coming in to take a look at this, but I have to go through a few hurdles. I had to make a call, then I've got to wait for somebody to call me to confirm., after which I've got to wait for another call so they can schedule the time that they're gonna come in. That’s what I don’t like. But other than that, everything went fairly smoothly. The product is good and makes the house look better and a little cooler. It was a good decision.

In August 2018 my husband and I purchased carpeting for the two bedrooms of our condo. The installers said they would have to seam the carpet during installation as the roll was not long enough. All measurements were taken by Empire so this was a result of their calculations. Here we are Feb. 2019 just 5 months later and while vacuuming I notice an unraveling and tear where the seam was made. I called Empire and had an adjustor come to examine a few days later. He told me to call the office and they would patch the problem. An appointment was made for today.

Two days after making this appointment I receive a call from the office that since I have a dog they are blaming the shoddy installation and quality on my 11 year old 5 pound dog who sleeps all day in the living room and is not allowed in my bedroom. Take responsibility. Carpeting is meant to last for years not months! Apparently all you are good at is giving discount after discount for your cheap product and then provide sub standard installation. You have my money and the attitude is too bad. Keep away!! Plenty of carpet retailers but when making a big purchase do not make my mistake and order from Empire. Shame on you. You sold and installed garbage and putting the blame on an old 5 pound dog.

I hired Empire a few months ago to put floors in my basement which I requested vinyl flooring to the salesperson at the time upon installation now to find out I was given laminate. My floor has came apart two times. I called Empire to explain to them what was going on due to the fact that I was given a warranty on my floors. They refuse to honor my warranty and indicated I would have to pay an additional $1,600 to have my floors redone.

I hired a third-party inspection to come in and inspect my flooring a week ago. Now I'm being told that it is unacceptable by the installations Department of Empire because the third party they hired to do my floors didn't do them properly and my floors need to be removed and redone. Now Empire refuses to guarantee my warranty and refuses to replace my flooring and it hasn't even been 6 months that I hired them to do the work. This is just a bunch of scam artists and just want extra money. For this company to be in business over 20 years is a disgrace. On top of that the salesperson sold me the wrong floors. The installers did not properly put my floor in. It's coming apart and Empire refuses to address the situation at hand yet I'm still paying on the financing of these floors that cost me 5,000.

This is poor customer service and unacceptable. The worst experience I've ever had with empire ever. I was told that the installers worked for Empire and they do not. They are third-party installers which I could have hired my own yet I paid double the amount that I would have had to pay if I hired an outside company myself.... It has been a month that I have been going back and forth with operators on the phone and the situation has yet to be resolved. Worst experience ever and I will be seeking legal advice now due to the fact that Empire Today are scam artists. We liked the salesman who came and presented the carpet samples and talked to us about the different options that they had going on, some of the sales and some of the other carpet products, and the deals that we could get. Putting the flooring in went okay from an installation standpoint. There were three gentlemen. Two of them were very pleasant. One of them was a little rude and unprofessional. He was on his phone a lot having conversations. There were a couple areas where the tack strips weren't put down all the way.

Also, the cleanup of the workers was not good at all. Because it had taken them so long, when they were pulling the carpet up, they put the carpet out my son's bedroom window, and into the driveway. We're in Ohio so we had snow. So, the next day, when we went out, there were carpet scraps and paddings, a couple pieces of tack strips that they replaced, laying in the driveway. One gentleman couldn't find his phone. So, they spent about half an hour before they left going around calling the phone, hoping that it wasn't under the carpet somewhere. Otherwise, we're happy with the carpet itself. And the overall experience, other than the few things about the installation, went very well. I definitely would recommend Empire. Initially I was extremely pissed off at the product I received. I would have changed this to 5 stars if the customer service people would have actually let me speak with a manager to begin with. That still needs to change. Rather than ignoring me, they should have passed it along to a manager to begin with without me having to go the extreme route. They would not even give me the managers name, number, extension or email. Once I was contacted by a manager after posting the initial nasty review the problem was resolved immediately they replaced my flooring with the product I thought I was purchasing to begin with. The sales person was deceiving. So, I highly suggest doing your research before committing to anything. I was under the impression the floor I purchased would be fine if mopped. Well, it wasn't. If you are going to buy a laminate flooring go with the "beach house". Do not waste your time, money or energy with anything else or you will be in the same position I was in. As of now I have had zero issues with my new floor and I am very pleased.

The 2 workers that showed up late were in my house until 9:30 PM, didn't finish the job, never came back to complete the job until I called multiple times and 2 weeks later they showed. I paid for leveling 400.00 and they used maybe 2 cups... The floor has more dips and valleys than the rocky mountains. The gaps, some filled with caulk some not, floor has broken already in multiple spots, separated in multiple areas. What garbage!

Called today, and was given a bogus name and number to call back again for the 100th time. It's bad business in all areas with this company. Yeah, just like everyone else, this will have the print under the review stars as resolution in progress! Yeah sure. I've been hearing that for 5 weeks. I only picked one star because I had to. ZERO STARS IS MORE LIKE IT! SHAME ON THIS COMPANY!!!
