I was very impressed with Erin the salesperson. But not happy about anything else about the company. Tons of excuses. Not very helpful. Lack of communication between installers and the company. Customer service was awful. The installer lied on the paperwork. It’s too bad because I wanted to use them for future floors in my home.

Very happy with my wood flooring. Looks lovely and is such a nice change to our home. The thresholds required to be put in after we had the doors shaved by 1/2" has been completed. The gentlemen who came to finish did a quick and professional job and were courteous and kind. All's complete and we are thoroughly pleased. Recommend Empire Today :)

I had Empire Today replace the floors on the lower level of the house. And that included a rug in the bedroom, a hallway, a living room, a dining room, and a kitchen. It went fairly well. The kitchen was done in December. I originally told them that I wasn't gonna do it until after the first of the year. They called me to say that they were ready to do it by the 4th of January, but I said that that was impossible. The kitchen took a whole day and they worked very hard. I was very concerned because they had to pull out an old unit that isn't made anymore. They pulled that out gently, laid the floor, and put it back in. When I asked them if they could leave me a few of the tiles, all they could come up with was one. I would've gladly paid for more so that I had some on hand in case anything happened, but Empire must've figured the count very closely.

I let them do the rug in the bedroom next. I told them I would have the living room and the hallway done by the end of January. I had to pack up everything breakable in the living room and the dining room and put it elsewhere. Then I called them and told them they could do the whole thing. They got here at 9:00 AM, started working and didn't leave until 9:00 PM. They were very good. They blocked off the kitchen area. There was a pass-through from the kitchen into the living room and they covered that with plastic. They did beautiful work. When it started snowing, they ended up having to do the sawing in the dining area. Everything got dusty, but I couldn't blame them for that. I'm very satisfied with the job they did. I'm very pleased with the quality of the flooring and the cost was worth it.

The guy from Empire Today gave me a tolerable price. It wasn’t the best, but I could afford it, so I went ahead and had some carpet and laminate flooring installed by Empire. I had three rooms done with carpet and two rooms done with laminate. The carpet looked very pretty when they first installed it, and then later, after walking on it, it doesn’t look as pretty. But it was nice. The laminate looks very good. I got some paperwork of what Empire did because I called them for it, but I never got a receipt for what I paid. So I'm still wrestling with them. But overall, they did a good job. I would deal with them again, and I would recommend them.

Nooo, no one called, no emails. And now I have to take off another day and wait three more hours. I guarantee they would charge me for 6 hours of their time. I guess my time is worth squat to them.

Updated on 06/25/2019: Start to finish experience went down fast. First few weeks the carpet looked great but immediately started matting up in high travel areas, although this is only upstairs bedroom and two people only. I contacted Empire and through a series of phone calls and them sending out investigators and me following their recommendations of a cleaning, then another hot water extraction cleaning (the carpet wasn’t dirty, just matted), there was never any improvement. The last company that did the hot water extraction cleaning pulled up a corner to show me the padding. Even though I paid for an extra thick quality pad, the one I got is paper thin. That is the reason for the matting. There was never a follow up by Empire after the last recommended cleaning before they could “resolve” the issue. I was done with them by that time anyway.

Updated on 03/28/2019: Since writing a poor review on carpet installation (quality of the carpet) I have gotten voice messages on my phone, which I spent a good 20 minutes yesterday trying to return, with no answer. My opinion that Empire cares a lot about negative reviews, but nothing about real customer service remains stronger than ever. I finally called back again today (a different extension) and was told that the person who left the voicemail, is still unavailable. I honestly don't expect any customer service at this point. I don't want to hear from Empire ever again.

Original review: After just four years (and I wrote a similar review last year) our bedroom carpet looks worse than the carpet that was 25 years old when we moved in. When I complained and asked for someone to come out and look at it, the technician who came out agreed with me. It's terrible. Afterwards, I spoke to the company about it and was told we shouldn't have gone barefoot on the bedroom carpet because the oil from our feet will damage it. Really? I have an Electrolux vacuum cleaner and I vacuum at least twice a week. They told me I should get a different vacuum cleaner, as well. Really? No one told me about bare feet and a certain vacuum when it was installed. They offered to replace it at the same amount I paid in the first place. Really? This company and their products are horrible. The only time they slightly paid attention to my complaint was when I threatened to put all my complaints on social media.

I had carpet installed recently and the experience was not pleasant. The first attempt to install the carpet resulted in defective carpet and no resolution that day resulting in waiting until the following Monday (tried to install on Friday) so my upstairs was not usable. The install in Monday (same carpet) same issue resulting in a 3rd attempt on Tuesday (5 days from the first attempt). The customer service rep upgraded my carpet but had no other options so not really satiating my complaint as I expected a call back with a discount for this awful experience. I did talked to multiple service reps over several days and the information was never captured correctly in regards to my complaint and ask for a discount. I've still not heard back from anyone and since you have my money it's obvious you they don't care! Very unhappy customer!

We purchased the luxury plank vinyl about a year ago. The installer came with the wrong item, not a huge deal, but it took another week to get it sorted out. When they came out we found out they are simply 1099 contractors so the 'warranty' is provided by them at no charge. The installer was nice and courteous, they tried to leave with holes in every corner not caulked exposing the concrete below. The biggest reason we got this floor was for the water protection so being 'sealed' was the most important.

Since then we have had different installers here 3 times. They have had to replace the crown molding, it's paper covered so it peels back. We had a weird 'batch' in the middle of the floor that was discolored from everything else, and it had to be replaced. My wife's office chair was blamed for cracking one under her desk and we were now told that you cannot use a rolling chair on a floor? Ok, that wasn't anywhere in the fine print.

We financed for 1 year, have fully paid, and still 15 months post install we have numerous quality issues. Right now we are fighting to have the plank replaced (that's been broke for almost 7 months) where my wife's chair is (she is 110 lbs with a computer desk chair). We have more molding that is peeling in numerous places (closet, pantry, kitchen floor, living room). Some of the planks that were replaced are now starting to 'lift' or separate. It looks as if they werent locked in all the way maybe? Hard to tell for sure. My wife is considering an attorney and taking all of the correspondence up to the states AG. Right now we were told a 3rd party assessment was done, we have to 'agree' to the findings including no rolling chairs on the floor, but yet we are not allowed to see it or review the 3rd party assessment ourselves. Stay tuned...

We had new vinyl flooring installed over the weekend. Our sales rep was very attentive until the day the flooring arrived. I have been waiting for over a week for the measurements of our dining room. And for some reason they will not give us an itemized breakdown of our cost. Which is starting to make me believe they are hiding something in their fees. I also feel like the sales rep scammed us into having them move the furniture probably for additional fees.

At our appointment we said we would move our furniture and he kept saying, "No we take care of it and if we break something we will replace it." Anytime we brought up the fact that we wanted to move the furniture he changed the subject. The day the flooring arrived we got an email saying, "Make sure your room is cleared out unless arrangements were made at time of purchase." I think at this point it is safe to assume they don't want us knowing that we paid extra for these services. Today will be my fifth request for an itemized receipt. Hopefully five days has given them enough time to fudge their numbers.

I did not receive what I was promised. I was told my installation would take place on Saturday, March 9, 2019. The installer came and said he didn’t know he was supposed to pull up the carpet first. So he didn’t complete the job. He asked if he can come back the next day to finish and he came back Sunday, March 10, 2019 but still did not complete the job. Empire sent out 1 guy to install hardwood floors in a 1500 sq ft Townhouse. The installer came back on Monday, March 11, 2019 and said he’d come back the following week to finish. I kept calling the office trying to cancel the entire job and get a refund so that I can go with Home Depot as I had initially planned. Nobody called me back.

The installer finally came on Sunday, March 17, 2019 to complete the installation. An installation that I was told would take a day took 4 days and me missing 2 days of work. And then to be told that they didn’t have the right hardwood material to cover the crown moulding transition in the bathroom. I’ve reached out to corporate and they were not helpful, took my information and never called back. Once I called them back they got somebody to return my call and offer me $200 off of installation. After missing 2 days of work and not having material to cover crown moulding for the bathroom transition should be more than $200. They are a total joke and should be put out of business. I wouldn’t recommend Empire Today to my worse enemy.

2 months now and we are still not satisfied with the product or the customer support for our laminate flooring. First, the molding looked like plastic. Looked terrible. After 5-6 calls, always a different person, and 3 visits by the installers who didn’t bring the right materials, we finally got that issue taken care of. I am not happy with the installation of the mounding but we were tired of the fight.

Next, the floor started to swell from the little bit of snow that was tracked in. It had dried before we even noticed it in our busy hallway. Our last laminate floor lasted for 12 years with no issues and it sometimes had puddles on the floor for hours. We called numerous times, again we never talk to the same person, that finally said they would send someone out to repair the damage. Had to take off work and wait for hours and no one showed up even after a call saying they would be there within the hour. Over a week later and they still have not set up a new time for the repairs. I paid a lot of money for what I thought was a better quality floor than I put in myself 12 years ago. I will not use Empire or Luna (same company) or recommend them to anyone.

This time, I had them install my carpet in the upstairs bedroom, three bedrooms and hallway. The guys who came out to do the installation were very polite, and they were great. There is a lack of variety with the colors that they have, but it’s okay. My favorite feature about the flooring is the color that I picked, which is light beige. Empire did refund our full down payment. I revised the rating up to two stars because of their response, but I am still upset with the experience and most likely will not work with them in the future. They need to either train their sales people, so that they can sell knowledgeably, or send out a contractor with them on their sales calls, so that they would have known before the sale that hardwood floors would not have worked in our home.

Also, the customer service woman we initially talked to was abrasive, rude and unresponsive to our concerns about the down payment. Granted, I was irate myself after being told that we weren't going to receive any of our money back, but even after explaining to her that Empire could not provide us with the product we contracted for, she said that she basically didn't care because we signed a contract. I'm glad Empire decided to do the right thing.

    Original Review: March 22, 2019

We just ordered hardwood floors for our home. Contractors came out on Wednesday and told us that they couldn’t install hardwood floors everywhere we wanted to because part of the floor wasn’t level. Fine, so we reordered carpet for part of the home, and kept hardwood for our kitchen and living room. Then another Empire crew came out today and told us they couldn’t put hardwood in the kitchen and living room. So, we wanted to cancel the order.

Unfortunately, we put a $2,400 deposit down for the hardwood floors. Even though Empire can’t deliver the hardwood floors as we originally ordered, they wanted to keep our $2,400 deposit. They said that since their team provided us with a solution that Empire is under no obligation to give us our money back since they could install the floors if they follow their solution.

Their solution involves another general contractor not with Empire to come out and basically lift our home to fix the joists in our home that are creating the problems with the floor, which could lead to cracks in the home. So, basically Empire is holding us hostage to install carpeting in our home. I’m reaching out to a lawyer to find out what my options are, and I suggest anyone interested in Empire should reconsider.

I heard that Empire Today was good. One of the salespersons came out and showed me some of the products. I liked what he showed me and I had arranged for the floors and stuff to be done. He was a very nice salesman and the representatives were great. I had the floors, carpet on my stairs, and blinds installed by Empire and I liked the job that they did. Three or four guys came to do the floor and they finished in one day. Then, they came back the next day and the work was done in half a day. They were very nice and were good, hard workers. The process was fine, but I was having problems with the blinds at first because when I opened them up, they didn’t open all the way sometimes. Someone came out last week and he showed me what I had to do with the blinds when they don’t turn. Other than that, everything is holding up so far.

Empire is a very good company that supplies very nice fabric. However, I bought a light-color rug for my staircase and it got so filthy. I should’ve never gotten that color and I wanna go with a different color now. The quality of the floors is beautiful. I had someone come here and wax them. They shine and it is so beautiful. The floors are really nice once you put the polish on them. Empire is a little expensive, but I would tell my friends that I did business with Empire and if they are looking to get their floors or their carpet done, I’d recommend that they call Empire because they did very good service.

I would recommend to NOT use Empire due to our exceedingly less than good experience. First off, Empire's brochure is misleading, it shows people in Empire uniforms. That is a lie. The people they get to install your floors are most likely the ones that are waiting at the driveway corner of Home Depot. The people that installed our flooring did not know English, therefore, you could not communicate with them, which they took advantage of and would do things without your knowledge, and then add that to your already quoted price, which makes the contract you signed with the quoted price a lie. With what extremely broken English one of the installers was able to babble out, he tells you that they didn't bring enough padding to put under the flooring, and says it'll be a total of $50, $5 per roll and they supposedly need 10 more rolls. How on earth do they not bring enough supplies for X amount of square footage to begin with??

Then the next day they come back and say they need all these extra bags of cement, and NO black padding, and want to charge an extra $20 per bag of cement, which also mind you, they supposedly slathered all over the floor without telling us in the first place, and had it all nice and covered up with the flooring so we couldn't see the product they supposedly used. Then the manager pretends they are doing us a favor by doing our closets, which also mind you, was already included in the square footage of what was being done! I guess they can't read English either.

We contacted the representative who came by our house, who sold us a load of BS apparently, and he assured us multiple times that we would ONLY be paying the QUOTED price, and that the only way they could charge more would be for US to sign a new contract, load of BS. Surprise! Nice new charge added on the credit card for the extra "supplies" the Home Depot driveway crew supposedly needed. I sure hope they put all the leftover cement and flooring to good use because they sure didn't give us the full amount of leftovers. We also let them use our garage to store their junk in over the three days it took them to do the floors, oh yeah, we were also quoted that it would only take a full day for them to do. Then they damaged the epoxy floor in our garage with their tools and left SO MUCH saw dust in our garage, and IN OUR HOUSE, that it took DAYS TO CLEAN UP FULLY!!

Now we've noticed that we have a nice bubble under the some of the panels on our floor, and I bet Empire isn't going to honor the "warranty" the floor comes with either. We did have intentions of using this "company" to have other things done on our house in the future, but that sure as heck won't be happening. I have told quite a few people to avoid this company by all means, you should too.

I had Empire Today install carpet in my living room and dining room. I chose to go with them due to the sale that was on TV. This is called a shotgun house. It means the living room, dining room, and the hallway are connected. I was not pleased with the purchase that I made from them. I don’t think I got a deal. I wanted wood, but the rep could see that my house wasn’t level, so I couldn’t get the wood and had to go with carpet. He made the one price on the carpet, and it came to $950. Then I asked him about the other two rooms, he had me up to $1,500. But, other than that, I'm satisfied with the carpet after it was installed. The guys at Empire Today were good, too.

I've had a laminated wood floor installed by Empire Today in my dining room and I am so pissed off with this floor. It looked like an unprofessional person had put it down. I have guardrails on my floor because I have a sunken living room and they cut a big hole around one thing and not around the other thing. It's the same with my kitchen. I even stopped paying them. They had me on a collection plan and I'm not gonna end up paying them all what they wanted. Every 27th of the month, I give these people $51 and I’m gonna do that for 10 months. If they would send somebody out to check the floor, that person would say, "This lady is so right."

In addition to that, the contractor sent these Dominicans, the Puerto Ricans, and the Caribbeans to do the work, and you don’t understand a thing they said because they spoke in Spanish. You try to talk to them and they don’t speak that much English. It’s just crazy. I also had a situation when I had a flood and my landlord had to pay for my carpet. I asked Empire to send me the papers, as well as the bills but these people never got back to me. They didn’t e-mail my husband anything. And so I'm done with Empire. I will never do any business with them anymore. I wouldn't recommend them to anybody as well.

    Original Review: March 18, 2019

My 14 year old grandson lives with me. He was ill and threw up during the night. Not wanting to wake me up he took it upon himself to clean up the mess with bleach, which has left a orange mark on the guest bedroom carpet. I called Empire on March 3, 2919, spoke to Yolanda and explained the problem. She said that a Rep. would call me to make an appointment. The next day Matt called and said it was his day off and would call me back the next day to make an appointment. He never did.

March 6, 2019 called Yolanda to get a status of the appointment, she put me on hold to check. I was on hold for 10+ minutes. I finally hung up. 3/7/2019 I sent an email to the customer service Manager Aneth **, Install Manager Ryan **, as well as the carpet installer coordinator Sergio **, together with a picture of the carpet stain, requesting a rep. To advise me of the best way to remove the stain as cleaning will not remove the stain. To date I have not had a response from anyone of these email recipients. I again called Aneth and left a message requesting a response to my emails. I am disappointed and frustrated at Empire staff ignoring my phone calls and email. While they are great at installation their post maintenance assistance leaves much to be desired. I would not recommend Empire Carpet.

Empire Today installed vinyl snap together wood-look floor in my kitchen and it was good. They came in and took up the old floor and they put some kind of board down, then they put the laminate floor down. They then cleaned up before they left. The molding around the edges which I thought was gonna be wooden, is not though. It's just fake wood trim. It looks nice and it looked beautiful when they left but I did not realize that it was not true wood. I'm sure that one day I'll have to replace it because we have an island and it's around the island in a lot of corners or around the cabinets. It’s starting to have marks from everyday use. I wish they had put wood down instead of that composite.

I was gonna have them do another room too with carpeting and they came the next day to do it but when I picked the carpet out, I thought it was blue and I realized that it was gray as gray could be. They were nice enough though to cancel the order and take it back. I shopped elsewhere for that carpeting and I realized then when I looked at their laminate flooring that I should have shopped around a little bit. I thought that Empire Today was the cheapest but I found out that they were not. Where I had the carpet installed, it was 1/3 the price less as what I was quoted by Empire. Empire was a little pricey. Other than that, I’m happy with the product. It looks good. I like the coloring and the easy cleanup. We had carpeting which is not a good thing to have in a kitchen, so I'm glad that we don’t have that anymore.

Updated on 03/16/2019: The desirable resolution is for Empire to take up this floor and refund my down payment enough is enough. I have tried numerous times to resolve this with your company. I did not receive a call to assist me. I phoned your customer service dept. @1.866.588.0124 on Thursday, March 14, 2019, at 12:03 p.m. and spoke with that rep until 12:22 p.m. I phoned you @. I was told you would call within 24 hours. It is now March 15, 2019, and no one form your company has called me to resolve this issue. I attempted numerous times to speak with you but you will not call.

Original review: I contacted Empire Flooring on for professional installation of engineered wood flooring in my living room, stairs, and upstairs hallway installed over a moisture barrier. I spoke w/ your salesperson and signed the contract for installation on 02/09/2019. The floors and stairs were installed over a 3 day period 02/19/2019 thru 02/21/2019. I phoned to complain about the install of the flooring on 02/23/2019. The floor is moving; thus, it is not stationary. In addition the installer got glue all over it. They tried to clean the glue up with an acetone base solvent; this is what the installer said they were using to remove the glue. This solvent took the satin finish off and turned white and in some places dissolved/melted the finish. The melted finish appears as if the floor is dirty and will not come up.

While installing the stairs they cut one of the bullnoses in half and still installed it; it is sharp and can cut your foot coming up or going down the stairs because it does not line up. I have taken off work on numerous dates to get resolution. On one occasion they were scheduled to come to my home between 9a.m.-12p.m. on 02/27/2019 they arrived at 10 minutes to 6 p.m. When they arrived and looked at the floor they stated the damage is more extensive than we first thought but did not tell me what was going to be done. On 02/09/2019 the original installers came back and stated they would have to take up the moisture barrier and glue the floor to the concrete; which is not what I paid and asked for. They did not do anything and phoned the office.

I spoke with the office and stated I need to know what is going to be done stating this is not professional. I also stated the installers need to know what they are coming to do. I was told a contractor would come to my home between 9am and 12pm on 03/20/2019. I phoned today 03/20/2019 at 11:00pm and stated a contractor is scheduled to come to my home between 9am and 12pm. The office told me there is no one scheduled to come to your home and provided a reference # ** for the call and my complaint. I am expected to pay 9 thousand dollars for a floor that has been destroyed by your installer. I have already paid 1 thousand dollar as a down payment. I want what I am paying for a new professionally installed floor. Furthermore, they did not install the transitional molding between the living room and the kitchen.

When asked for the transitional molding the installers said they did not have it. Every time Empire states they are sending someone we have moved the furniture so they can see the floor. Yeah we had already put felt on the legs of everything so we are not damaging the floor and we are picking up the furniture, we are not sliding it across the wood flooring. I am attaching photos to show you examples of what I am talking about. I am only sending a few pictures; however, the damage is all over the floor and stair landings. After speaking with the office I called the sale person and told him what is going on and he said he would call me back. That was approximately an hour ago and he has not called back. I thinking I have to get an attorney to resolve these issues.

Empire Today installed carpeting in the three bedrooms of my home and everything about it was very satisfactory. The carpet has met my expectations. I was looking for a color that would not be the regular color that you see in a rental and yet, I didn't want it to be very light nor very dark. So this color was like a sand color. The feeling I wanted to get when I'm in my room, or my daughter in her room, was that we're back at the beach. And it does feel that way. I expressed this to the two young men who came to install it, and I was so happy they were here because they understood my sentiment. Once they were almost done, they called me up and said they could hear the ocean. They were very in tune with what I expressed to them. It made me feel like they really cared and that's very odd nowadays.

The carpet looks good and after it got installed, the room looked even better. I am satisfied with the quality and I am especially satisfied with the two young men who came to install. They were very polite, very hardworking and professional. Whenever in doubt, they called their company to verify, which was good. One of them left their charging cord and I hope they weren't in any way hurt by me calling to let people know. I had allowed them because I understood that they needed to do it due to the constant calling to the office. We had a few changes from the installation and they needed to verify that that was the case.

My girlfriend had Empire install carpeting in her condo and they did a great job. I couldn't wait to use Empire to install new carpeting in the house that I rent. It was in dire need of new flooring. I made an appointment. When the day came, I received a call from my salesperson telling me that he had been double-booked and would not be able to make the appointment. We rescheduled for a day or two later. He was very apologetic and accommodating on the rescheduled appointment. When we got together, the process was very smooth and the price very fair and we made the deal and scheduled the install.

When the day came for the install, I got a call from the installer confirming his arrival time. But, later, Empire called telling me that the installer's truck broke down and he wouldn't be able to make the appointment. We rescheduled... As this was happening, I recalled that my girlfriend got the same call - the installer couldn't make the original appointment because his truck broke down.

Finally, we all got it together and the carpet was installed. It looked great in the pictures my son sent me! But, when I got home, I noticed an obvious seam sticking up in the middle of the hallway. I called my sales guy and he suggested I call customer service. I called customer service and they sent someone out the next day to look. That guy looked at the problem and said that that is the way it is because it's a seam and that there is nothing he can do to make it better. I called my sales guy and he came out a couple of days later to look. I talked with him the next day and he said he couldn't see much because it was in the evening, but he will deal with customer service and present my case. At this point, I feel I am just being ignored and that Empire is hoping that I'll give up my concern and go away. I get emails asking for a review but I am waiting to see how this works out. If they take care of it, it will be a great review based on the end product.

I am not even sure where to begin. We had carpet installed in two bedrooms and laminate flooring in two bathrooms, kitchen, family room and dining room area. This was in a rental unit that we owned. The salesperson was fine and the installation seemed to go well until we started having problems. Our tenants did not let us know for a couple of months after the installation that the there was a leak in the bathroom since the installation. I am not sure they even knew there was a leak because it was leaking under the toilet.

We contacted Customer Service as soon as we knew this was an issue. Played phone tag with her and finally got something scheduled for them to review the situation. The installer went out and claimed the leak was from kids splashing in the tub and the water was going over the side of the tub, which was not true, turns out the flange on the toilet had been broken when they put the toilet back in. We did not know this at first and tried to have them fix the toilet and install new floors that had been ruined by this leak, it was obvious when we went there that the toilet was the problem. Empire indicated that we contacted them too late and so we would have to pay for the new floors and installation. They then said they would cover half so we agreed.

In the meantime the hot water heater burst in this unit and we had more water in the condo and had to open an insurance claim to get more flooring fixed so cancelled the installation in the bathroom. So our team that was repairing all the damage, contacted Empire to purchase flooring to match since we did not need that much to fix the damage. Guess what? Empire will never just sell the product, you have to pay them to install as well. So we had to pull all of their product that we are still paying for and replace with another flooring. When they reinstalled the toilet they indicated that it was leaking because the flange was broken and obviously had been broken since Empire put the toilet back in and was the original issue to begin with.

In addition, we spoke to the the guy over Customer Service in Colorado many times and he is one slick guy, knows exactly what to say to not have to work with customers and to get them to pay more and more. Not rude, just firm and says he will do everything he can to work with us, but obviously, that was not the case. It was difficult to get him on the phone as well. If you notice on their website, not much for customer service as far as contact information, they make it difficult to reach someone. After this experience, I WILL NEVER USE EMPIRE FLOORING EVER AGAIN!!! And I was going to, but realize what a racket they are. Maybe if you never have an issue they work, but if you do, beware! I had the laminate floor and carpet installed by Empire Today. I had called Empire about it two years ago, and the lady that came out was very nice. So, I gave her a call. I had the carpet installed in my three bedrooms. And I had the laminate floor done in my living room, dining room, family room, and kitchen. The Empire products that I have are still very new, so they're okay for now. Hopefully, nothing comes up in the future. But they're good and I got a compliment on the way it looks. Everybody at Empire Today did a professional job and the installers put everything back where it belonged.

I had Empire Today install laminated floors in the den, dining room, the living room, and the hallway. I like the color of their laminate flooring and also the durability it had on it. When I went with Empire, I considered mainly the cost and the fact that it was all in one package. I didn’t have to go through a bunch of other stuff to get the flooring in and get them to put it down. Empire took care of everything and their rep was great. The installation went well. The installers were clean, very thorough, and very conscientious about the work. The whole project took two days to be completed, and the new flooring meets my expectation, more than double. It's been a great experience.

I had my carpet done about 19 months ago. The first time they installed it they did a horrible job. I called and they sent someone out and told me they could not fix it. Then I did a review and posted the pictures and they immediately called and sent out another person and they had to replace the carpeting in my living room and stairways. I was pleased in the beginning although they didnt have my original carpeting, they had to use different colors, styles. Now I see it probably was a cheaper carpet, even though I paid more for the original carpet. It is already matted down looking old. Anyhow the stairways are looking horrid with the padding already moving inches away from the step itself.

They cut it and one part and going up the stairway and if you are not paying attention your toe gets caught in the nails holding the bottom step, then they restarted the carpet. Hard to explain. Hopefully I can upload pictures. At this point I can care less about having someone come out and replace it again. I would rather have my money back. Take your business elsewhere, this company uses cheap labor and honestly could have had my husband do it since it looks horrible. I do want to add my living room is pretty big and when they tore out the carpet to replace it the padding was taped together! I did snap a picture of that. Most embarrassing is when people come over and notice what a horrible job they did. I do tell them to avoid Empire Today.

When I was shopping for a new carpet I decided on Empire instead of the local stores thinking Empire would be more professional. The commercials, nor the Empire representative that comes to do the installation estimate, tell you that the work is outsourced to NON-Empire low budget carpet stores. The outsourced company came in an unmarked van with no company logos and the only thing tying them to Empire was the tablet in their hand containing my containing my contract. I live on the second floor of a private house and they threw the old carpeting down the stairs causing $450 worth of damage to the staircase overhang. Also, not noticing until after they left, a jar of coins worth approximately $400 was stolen by them from one of the newly carpeted rooms. Lastly, they didn't finish putting the doorway brackets in due to them "not having the proper tools".

It took (4) calls to a customer service manager to get reimbursed for the damage and after several more calls I gave up trying to get someone out to my apartment to finish the bracketing; as it was never completed. Empire management informed me that they don't tell their new customers that the work is outsourced which in my eyes is false advertising and underhanded. Empire offered only unapologetic apologies and no compensation for my monetary loss, unfinished installation and aggravation. In conclusion: DO NOT purchase from Empire and if you decide to, ask why they outsource their work to low level carpet places without background screen checks.

We have 2 dogs and chose a vinyl flooring per the sale reps suggestions. We were told that the floors we picked were the best for pets because they have a water resistant seal that could hold for 12 hours. Here is the first problem, we had a spot pop up in our kitchen. We thought it was from the dog but there was no evidence of any such accident from the dog. So we assumed it was from the ice maker dropping a piece of ice and melting. If that was the cause it would have only been there for max of an hour while my wife took our child to school. We called customer service and got the runaround and voicemail after voicemail was left.

After around 4 days we got a call back and was told there was no warranty for such complaint and that the floors were not water resistant for 12 hours if any. Then we were told we had to buy more bundles of flooring for repair at a cost of $300 plus per bundle plus install. Then when repairman shows he put a transition strip piece over the spot and glued it down. That was not the resolution we were asking for. Then I try to call customer service again and for another 3-5 days did not receive a call so I left a message for a call, still nothing nothing has been resolved.

We had the floors installed in late October or 2018. We spent close to Ten Thousand on the floors and install and my wife and I have determined that using a Empire to do the install was the worst financial mistake we have ever made. Empire customer service was very poor and the salesman that sold us the floors/lies should be ashamed of how they handled this. I personally have thought of paying a local flooring company to come through and inspect the flooring for install flaws and to check the water resistant claim/lie we were sold. All in all we are very disappointed in the Empire flooring company and are upset with ourselves for not choosing a local reputable flooring company.

Updated on 04/27/2019: Installation took longer than should have. 9 days. Wood & Carpet. Still waiting for Empire to credit our account with the 10% they offered back on April 1st. Received call from Empire offering 10% credit to resolve our issues. As of today we received a $125 credit, not the 10% offered.

Original Review: (First day Fri) Came out, ripped up carpet for hardwood floor. Found out after that they had received 2 different colors and had to reorder more of the correct color. Living room furniture had been removed & put in kitchen. (Day 2 Sat) Bedroom furniture was removed and beds taken down. Carpet was to be installed in bedroom. Old carpet and pad removed, but did not have enough new pad and had to order more for a different day. Roll of new carpet stored in garage and was noticed by installer that a hole was in it so he was going to order another roll.

Came back on Mon and installed pad and carpet with hole in it. Said he would return to install new carpet later. Installers came back on Tues to install carpet and wood but could not install both at same time. Carpet guy left. Installed wood but could not finish because did not have enough transition pieces. They would have to get more and come back. Billy called from OKC on Wed and ask our version of story. Said he was going to Tulsa for meeting to discuss problem. Did not hear back from him. New carpet was put down on Thurs.

On Saturday they finished up transition pieces. A two day job turned into a 9 day job of furniture being in our kitchen and bathroom and having to use our guest bedroom. Mention was made of being compensated for our trouble but have not heard nothing on this. We did leave a review on Empire and someone called but wanted us to prove we had paid for the 10 bags of grout delivered, not used, they took grout back and was not really interested in the rest of the problems. We have tried several times to contact someone that we originally talked to (both sales and installation people), but have yet to receive any call back. Very unprofessional.

Empire was very quick and did most of the moving too. I have a heavy desk with the computer and so forth, and that was what they did.

I have a split-entry house where they did the carpeting. I have the fireplace in the lower level. It’s a big room down there plus the hallway and all around, so it's very nice. They did the half bath too and they went in halfway into the closets on the floor. They did all of those things very nicely. Empires carpet upstairs is already showing signs of wear, makes a weird plastic sound when you walk on it, and most important has more than 2 BIG areas where the carpet has ripples in the middle of the room. My Stainmaster carpet downstairs, no issues. I paid roughly the same amount for both carpets, per sq ft. So I call Empire to see if they can send out a tech to stretch the carpet and take care of it, considering it's not an old carpet. The response is that they will come out, but need to charge me hundreds of dollars for the "repair". He seemed very knowledgeable, showed us the different options, and answered our questions. He did a good job and tried to get us the best deal that we could get for the product that we chose. He was also very personable, so we decided to do it with them.

We had a laminate flooring installed in the dining room, the living room, down the hall, a short hall, and a study. We liked the color of the flooring and that it was supposed to be really good grade quality. And Empire had the great guarantee. We had carpet before and I liked it but when you’ve got dogs and grandkids, and you yourself make messes, the carpet got to looking bad. So, we thought we’d go with the laminate.

The installation went well, too. When the installers came in, they introduced themselves and they did a great job. They told me to take the stuff out of my buffet and off of the shelves, so when they moved those, it’d be a little easier. But when they came in, I still had a couple little things that I wanted to get out of the way that I hadn’t moved yet. The installers said it was not a problem and that they'd help me. Then they got those little things up, started moving furniture, and got that done. Then they started working and they worked well. I enjoyed them and they looked happy. One of the young men even came up and asked if I would mind if they listened to some music. It was very nice of him that he asked for permission and didn’t just automatically do it. Aside from that, when we had a question, they would tell us about it. Everything was left nice and they gave us some tips to make sure about the cleaning.

We dropped a cool $9500.00 on flooring for two bathrooms, a dressing room, bedroom, kitchen/dining, living room and hallway. Initially, we were quoted just about 9K for the project. Due to Hurricane Florence we had to replace much of the subfloor in our home, so by the time the installers came, we had been living in a torn up home for about a month. When our installation date arrived, we were told that the flooring we had chosen would not work because it didn’t have enough give to be installed. We appreciated the installer’s honesty. This was on November 30, which was a Friday. We had to schedule our salesman to come back out the following Monday to re-select most of our flooring. The installers were able to do the two bathrooms and the dressing room, and that was great.

The following Monday, our salesman returned and we selected a better grade flooring for the same price. This impressed us, as did his claim that if we had any issues after installation, we were to call him, and not Empire. We were also told that the flooring we chose would come with an underlayment, which was great. The next day, the installation team arrived and we were then told that the flooring did NOT come with an underlayment, and that we needed quarter inch plywood throughout in order for the flooring to be installed. There went another $500.00!

Long story shorter, it was December 10 before the flooring was completely installed. There was trash left in both bathtubs, in the yard, some of the quarter round was missing in a corner of the living room, grout missing between the tiles in the master bath, cement stuck to the tile tops in the dressing room, and our dishwasher was not reinstalled properly. So that if it was loaded, and either rack was pulled out, the appliance would fall forward to the point where the door hit the floor. We waited until after the holidays to try to reinstall the dishwasher ourselves, and when we did, we could clearly see a large portion of subfloor was exposed.

Last month we contacted our salesman and told him what was wrong and he said he’d get right back to us. He didn’t. When we call, it goes straight to voicemail. For a lifetime warranty and service after the sale, we feel that this is pathetic, especially after spending almost ten grand on flooring. While the floor looks great and our friends ask who did it, we tell them that we would not recommend Empire for their flooring needs, given the ongoing fiasco we are still dealing with into March!

I went higher than their regular line. I had the carpet installed in the bedroom and so far, it has met my expectations. I did really good on the color and the plushness of the carpet.

In August 2018 my husband and I purchased carpeting for the two bedrooms of our condo. The installers said they would have to seam the carpet during installation as the roll was not long enough. All measurements were taken by Empire so this was a result of their calculations. Here we are Feb. 2019 just 5 months later and while vacuuming I notice an unraveling and tear where the seam was made. I called Empire and had an adjustor come to examine a few days later. He told me to call the office and they would patch the problem. An appointment was made for today.

Two days after making this appointment I receive a call from the office that since I have a dog they are blaming the shoddy installation and quality on my 11 year old 5 pound dog who sleeps all day in the living room and is not allowed in my bedroom. Take responsibility. Carpeting is meant to last for years not months! Apparently all you are good at is giving discount after discount for your cheap product and then provide sub standard installation. You have my money and the attitude is too bad. Keep away!! Plenty of carpet retailers but when making a big purchase do not make my mistake and order from Empire. Shame on you. You sold and installed garbage and putting the blame on an old 5 pound dog.

I am a customer / consumer of Empire Today. I hired Empire a few months ago to put floors in my basement which I requested vinyl flooring to the salesperson at the time upon installation now to find out I was given laminate. My floor has came apart two times. I called Empire to explain to them what was going on due to the fact that I was given a warranty on my floors. They refuse to honor my warranty and indicated I would have to pay an additional $1,600 to have my floors redone.

I hired a third-party inspection to come in and inspect my flooring a week ago. Now I'm being told that it is unacceptable by the installations Department of Empire because the third party they hired to do my floors didn't do them properly and my floors need to be removed and redone. Now Empire refuses to guarantee my warranty and refuses to replace my flooring and it hasn't even been 6 months that I hired them to do the work. This is just a bunch of scam artists and just want extra money. For this company to be in business over 20 years is a disgrace. On top of that the salesperson sold me the wrong floors. The installers did not properly put my floor in. It's coming apart and Empire refuses to address the situation at hand yet I'm still paying on the financing of these floors that cost me 5,000.

This is poor customer service and unacceptable. The worst experience I've ever had with empire ever. I was told that the installers worked for Empire and they do not. They are third-party installers which I could have hired my own yet I paid double the amount that I would have had to pay if I hired an outside company myself.... It has been a month that I have been going back and forth with operators on the phone and the situation has yet to be resolved. Worst experience ever and I will be seeking legal advice now due to the fact that Empire Today are scam artists. They're not out for the consumers' best interest, only their interest in making money and scamming their customers..

Empire Today put in wood flooring in the front room. They took the board and put it together. They put the plywood down, then they put a cover on top of that. It made the floor real warm. I’m satisfied with what they’ve done. The whole floor is holding up real good. But the strip that gotta go right in the wall to hold it down or the trim in front of my door came up. But overall, they’ve done a wonderful job. My wife also liked the way they put it down.

After a month of having the carpet, it was faded and the threads were pulling out of it. Also the seam was visible in the living room. At the time it was only my husband and I living there and we always take our shoes off before entering the house. We attempted to reach out to Empire but never got anywhere with it. Now after only three years and paying over $2300.00 we already need to have our carpet replaced. It is paper thin, completely faded and overall just terrible looking. The carpet we had previous to this that was in our house for 20 years or more looked better and was much better quality. The carpet is so thin that you actually slip on it. Save yourself the trouble and go with a better company that has better quality products.

They broke our 52in flat screen, took a chunk out of the wall, and left most of the furniture there for me to move. No one, not the sales rep or the project manager would return my calls. 3 weeks after the project was supposed to be complete they came in to redo it, and did not have enough carpet to finish. They worked heavily, but the seam in the bedroom with the hallway is already coming apart. It has only been installed for a month and a half. They could’ve done a better job on some of the corners. Also, I wish I had gotten a discount that was advertised on TV. There was supposed to be a 75% discount, but I didn’t get any kind of discount. It was disappointing because I didn’t get it any cheaper than Lowe’s at the regular price. But as a whole, I am satisfied with my experience. We purchased wall-to-wall carpet from Empire for our upstairs, two bedrooms, hallways, and two sets of stairs. We liked the salesman who came and presented the carpet samples and talked to us about the different options that they had going on, some of the sales and some of the other carpet products, and the deals that we could get. Putting the flooring in went okay from an installation standpoint. There were three gentlemen. Two of them were very pleasant. One of them was a little rude and unprofessional. He was on his phone a lot having conversations. There were a couple areas where the tack strips weren't put down all the way.

Also, the cleanup of the workers was not good at all. Because it had taken them so long, when they were pulling the carpet up, they put the carpet out my son's bedroom window, and into the driveway. We're in Ohio so we had snow. So, the next day, when we went out, there were carpet scraps and paddings, a couple pieces of tack strips that they replaced, laying in the driveway. One gentleman couldn't find his phone. So, they spent about half an hour before they left going around calling the phone, hoping that it wasn't under the carpet somewhere. Otherwise, we're happy with the carpet itself. And the overall experience, other than the few things about the installation, went very well. I definitely would recommend Empire. They haven't turned me off from using them again if I decided to put carpet downstairs in the basement.

Also, their product had a better price and was a lot less costly than what we had checked before. Because of the personality I have, though, I found the sales person a little more aggressive than I’m comfortable with. Initially, she was really in my face with her sales pitch, but I brought that to her attention and she toned it down and backed off. She was there for two hours to talk about carpeting and that made no sense to me. But I like the color of the carpet that we purchased. My husband watched as the Empire guys put the seams together and he said they used some kind of a glue, and the only concern he had was he would be observing to make sure that it lasts.

Initially I was extremely pissed off at the product I received. I would have changed this to 5 stars if the customer service people would have actually let me speak with a manager to begin with. That still needs to change. Rather than ignoring me, they should have passed it along to a manager to begin with without me having to go the extreme route. They would not even give me the managers name, number, extension or email. Once I was contacted by a manager after posting the initial nasty review the problem was resolved immediately they replaced my flooring with the product I thought I was purchasing to begin with. The sales person was deceiving. So, I highly suggest doing your research before committing to anything. I was under the impression the floor I purchased would be fine if mopped. Well, it wasn't. If you are going to buy a laminate flooring go with the "beach house". Do not waste your time, money or energy with anything else or you will be in the same position I was in. As of now I have had zero issues with my new floor and I am very pleased.

I am now forced to get a lawyer because they ignore my problem and will not even give me the time of day to fix the problem. I have 4 dogs, the product they gave me is not what I thought I was purchasing. IT WAS SAID TO BE WATERPROOF and IT IS CLEARLY NOT! Save yourself the grief and DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY! They will rip you off like they did me.

I even offered to pick up the product ourselves and they just get an installer and that wasn't an option.

So obviously, if anything goes out of sorts, they won't be able to get your product delivered when promised. This has been a nightmare! Paying 12K for 2 living rooms, kitchen, half bath & 2 small hallways. 1st install was 1-29-19. All old floors were supposed to be removed. Paid extra for it. Kitchen floor was not removed. Because of that, floor transition to living room was slanted. Installers left without toilet hooked up and told us we were going to have to hire a plumber. After telling them Empire promised us a functioning toilet, they said ok they would take care of it. A WEEK later we finally hear from a plumber. We were also left with multiple chips in the quarter round, a gap in a corner between the floor and quarter round, quarter round blocking a heat vent and no caulking done between floors and outside doors. Just to name a few problems. Sloppy job that wasn't completely finished.

Empire sends an inspector on 2-4-19 over our concerns. Finally on FR, 2-22-19 2nd installer comes. They sent one guy and he told me they budgeted 4-5 hours for repairs. He was here all day FR, Sat and Sun! Kitchen floor and half bath had to be completely replaced. Since we had to have a 2nd install we decided to add new baseboards for an additional $300 charge. No offers for discounts after what we had already been through. Disappointing. End of Sun, installer asked for our Empire card to add the extra charge.

Next day installer calls (at 7:30am!) saying he couldn't add the charge to the card and I needed to call Empire. Told him I would. No answer at Empire so had to leave a message. Waiting for call back, installer called again in afternoon and following morning (at 7:17am)! After only 2 days I get a text at 7am (3 days after his install) saying that he is reporting me to collections. Ridiculous! I even gave this installer 2 lunches and 1 dinner while he was here over the weekend. And this is how he treats me? I wasn't trying to get out of paying. I was playing phone tag with the Empire financing dept.

So now today I'm waiting for a 3rd installer to address the rest of my floor problems of uneven vinyl planks. Was told they would be here in the morning and it is now 12:30pm. Yesterday we got a call that Empire processed the remaining balance on their credit card. We aren't supposed to be charged until the job is done. At this point I'm ready to tell them to take all their floors back and go somewhere else. I'm so frustrated! This family of 4 has been living out of boxes and eating take out for about 5 weeks now.

A pipe had broke behind a wall and ran dirty, rusty water into our family room in the basement and ruined the carpet. On Monday, 2/25/19 I put on the computer that I was needing an estimate for the removal, prepping, carpet, and laying/installing carpet due to the ruined carpet in my basement. EMPIRE was the first to respond to my distress call. At that point I was impressed with EMPIRE's response time and availability to get to me soon. We set up online for Wed. 2/27/19 between 1 - 3 pm for them to be at my house to measure with a free estimate of the job.

Tuesday evening - a real-live person phoned me - so they did have my number - this was Tuesday 2/26 9 pm, to verify and confirm my appt for Wed. 2/27 between 1 and 3 pm. They should have that contact and visit on a recording! At that time - I then phoned the house owners - that same night 2/26, and they agreed to drive the 2 hours in order to be present for the estimate from EMPIRE, as EMPIRE had suggested all participating parties should be present. We waited and waited the full 2 hours! NO CALL - NO MESSAGE - NO E-MAIL from EMPIRE!

At 3 pm on Wed., I phoned EMPIRE at the number they had given me just the evening prior = 866-512-5474 asking if they got lost or what - ??? I was told "Sorry - we don't have anybody available to come to you today". "Sorry, we tried to call you". What the HECK??? NO missed call, NO message left, NO E-mail!!! I had verbal confirmation, and in return received no call, no message, no email to inform me of this! I see this as TOTALLY unprofessional as well as inexcusable actions from this company. When I called, Daniel did transfer me to a floor supervisor - Adam. He again said "Sorry" and that they could give me a $100 rebate for the estimate - WHICH WAS FREE to begin with.

Good grief - no respect for a company that does not follow through with their confirmations of appointments, as well as lack of consideration for others. One installer, worked all day and still didn't finish. Received a call on Tuesday, van broke down. Need to reschedule. I have missed three days of work and the job should have been completed over the weekend. I am beyond ANGRY. Empire needs more reliable contractors. Will look elsewhere for future contractors.

We saw Empire Today being advertised on TV and all at once, we decided we were gonna have new carpeting stuff put in. Empire's sales rep was okay, but to me and my husband, we really didn't need a middleman, which was her. There were not that many flooring options and she didn't have that many samples at all. The guy that would lay the materials should be the one that comes out and measures.

Nevertheless, we have laminate flooring and three rooms of carpeting installed. I like the carpeting because I don't have to sweep it every day. I don't like it when I can see the footprints every time I walk on the carpet. But with the carpet from Empire, I don't see the footprints and I like that. I also love my laminate flooring. My room is big, but the laminate flooring makes the room look so much bigger. The laminate guys did a random laminate, but for the finish-up job and for the little trim around it, they could have more experience. But the carpet guys were great and did a fantastic job. Empire Today is a good company and the entire experience with them was fine.

The sales representative from Empire Today was wonderful. He was a really nice, young man. We got laminate flooring, as well as ceramic for the bathrooms, and we bought those at the house. We called Empire Today and they came out and brought us samples. The only problem we had was with the stone fireplace in the living room. When they tried to put the wood laminate down and around the fireplace, it left gaps. I wondered why they couldn’t just put some self-leveling putty to make it look right but they couldn’t.

They told us that they would put molding around it that matched the floor. However, they didn’t come back like they were supposed to. It took us three months to get them out here and when they showed up, they had white. We said it was gonna look awful. So it took us about six months to get the molding around the fireplace. It was the follow-up that was the problem. But the people who put the flooring in were absolutely wonderful and we love the floor. We had no problems there.

I have been replacing all the flooring in my home a few rooms at a time and have been using Empire for the majority of it. No longer. Many people I’m friends with have been asking me how I felt about them because they are also replacing flooring... My response is, "Do yourself a favor and go to Lowe's or Home Depot." I’m kind of forced to complete this install so the carpet matches but my hardwood replacement will not be done by Empire. I’ve had issues in the past but they made good on it so I thought they would this time around. Well not the case. I waited around all day. They finally came out at 3:30 pm. Had me verify the carpet which was the right color but they clearly didn’t have enough product with them. They remeasured the space and said they didn’t even have enough carpet for one room and would need to reschedule. Well ok.

I called customer service to reschedule and told them. Now I need to take an additional day off of work and feel like they should compensate me for my time and loss of income by way of a discount of some sort which I feel is reasonable. First they lied and said the salesmen measured incorrectly. Then they said the Atlanta distribution center didn’t send enough carpet and that material shortage was not a warranted issue as far as they are concerned. This is not a shortage. It’s negligence on their end for not loading enough carpet to begin with. Because if it were a shortage they would have known that ahead of time and called to reschedule the installation and not shown up at my house. So all they want to do is try to cover up their mistakes by creating excuses and pushing the blame. I have worked in flooring before and am well aware of how this works. So thank you for wasting my time and causing me to lose a second day of income Empire!

I had to have the first carpet removed because it was "corn rolling" after only 18 months. Keep in mind, I live alone and don't get a lot of traffic. After the second install...guess what, carpet is matted again, corn rolled, again. Of course I have to pay to get it cleaned before Empire will look at it...because you know that will make a difference with the defective carpet. I want my money back. I don't ever want to deal with Empire again. I am not sure what recourse I have, but I will say this, I would love to have a jury of my peers see and hear my documentation on this matter.

My installation is complete, I have the following feedback though that I want on record. 1. Brand new paint on railings was chipped and deep scratches put into my new handrails. 2. NUMEROUS marks on walls even above trim on freshly painted walls. 3. Installers had dirty hands and left black marks all over the doors the put back on hinges following the install. 4. The bed I had PAID to have moved for the install was sloppily put back into place and then banged into the wall, again a freshly painted wall, showing complete lack of care. 5. Carpet mess from their cuts in my garage was left all over my driveway and garage floor, they were working less than 15 feet from a dumpster I had rented for this job and couldn't take the time to clean well. 6. When I attempted to communicate with the lead installer he was nonchalant and arrogant regarding why my walls had to be destroyed stating it was 'so he did not have to cut seams'.

Overall I am VERY disappointed with the whole experience. I will NEVER use Empire again and if I were staying in this house I would make you come back and pull all of this out and go with any other company. The installers certainly did not live up to the reputation you guys have out there. I hope this type of thing never happens again to a customer, I hope you address the above as a company and make sure you guys start using much more qualified, careful professional installers.

This company is the absolute worst. If you have a job needing to be done; they send an estimator out to you, who is just a salesman (a bad one at that) and they show you samples. We already knew what we needed, so we picked out the laminate for the stairs which was replacing the carpet on the stairs. The install date was set. The installers come on the date and 5 hours into the install after the previous carpet; padding, and everything was pulled up and taken off - they call and say they have to come back because they have the wrong parts. They come back the next day; work a little bit, then realize the laminate we picked out won't fit.

So finally they were supposed to send a new salesman and installer at the same time today - to finally settle the issue and job and they were a no show. A regional manager called. I asked him how they plan on fixing this. They said they would give me a refund (since I was tricked into paying in full before the job started). No discount was offered. No way of putting the stairs back to how they were before they took off the carpet and threw it away. And no other customer service at all was provided. This is how the job was finished.

Empire had someone come out to walk us through the process and show us exactly what would happen. We scheduled the appointment and the installers came. They were there for a couple of hours for the carpet installation, then left in an hour for the window treatment. The work was done exactly according to our liking. The best part about the experience was that it was very convenient. Everything went smoothly and we didn’t have any hiccups.

Within a couple of months I noticed a "bubbled" spot in the living room and a spot in the bedroom that looked like something was breaking through from underneath. I called Empire, someone was sent out, I was told the bubbled area would not be replaced because it was water damage. I have grandchildren, a sippy cup was in that area, it must have leaked, but, really THAT messed up a brand new floor.

The other area was not going to be a problem, a tack had been floored over. When the installer came out to make the repair I told him if the so called "water damaged" area got that way from a sippy cup that was overlooked for several hours, he could pull the whole damn floor up and take it with him if it was made that cheaply. Both areas were repaired, BUT in order to do so, my baseboard had to be pulled off and Empire doesn't fix that!!

NOW, I have another spot that I'm pretty sure they won't cover because it's where the dog dish got splashed over and sat for several hours. We are remodeling and the area is just where it had to go at the time. This flooring is so CHEAP. It seems to be made out of cardboard! Yes, we fell for the half off sale, but we THOUGHT Empire was a reputable company. NOPE!! Do yourself a favor a favor, go to Lowe's, pick out some Pergo flooring and have them install it. It is a MUCH BETTER product and the service is awesome.

Dishonest, pressuring and condescending. We found Empire Today through Angie's List, and asked them to come over to offer a quote for a bathroom flooring replacement project we had. They took a week longer than the other 2 contractors to come by (and they had to reschedule after we made the first appointment), but eventually the sales rep came over to look at the bathroom and give an estimate.

While he was looking at the bathroom, he started asking about every possible extra thing that could be replaced, including the things we told him were fine. He kept insisting that our under-flooring needed to be replaced despite the professional water damage service company who looked at it (as well as all the other contractors who looked at it) saying otherwise. Whenever I told him I wanted to do my own research about whether the under-flooring needs to be replaced, he played it down and tried to pressure me into it and make fun of every other company that told me otherwise (including those who had no stake in the flooring repair).

Eventually, he gave us a quote that he ensured us was "about $800 higher than it could be just to account for replacing the under-flooring, which the other contractors are ignoring, but he'd be happy to give back if it turns out it's not needed". I asked him for a break-down of the costs and he said he doesn't have one, only a cost for the whole project. I then asked him how much the project would cost without the under-flooring replacement, and Lo and Behold, he finds that breakdown that I had asked for, and it shows the under-flooring costs $250 (not $800 as previously mentioned). This made his quote more expensive than the others I had received.

When I mentioned that, he started asking a long line of bombarding questions about what I knew about the other contractors, how they're probably gonna cause me problems later on and are under-bidding on this contract, and how they're the only company in the US who offers a warranty on their services. Whenever he asked me a question like "are they insured?" and I answered yes, he would look at me in a condescending way and ask "are you sure about that? better double-check that".

By the end of the appointment, I could not wait until he got out of my house. He was being outright disrespectful and condescending, and it was clear by that point that he wasn't being honest about his pricing. He left me an Empire Today paper with their quote (just a single number estimate, including under-flooring work) without any itemized lines. Even if his quote wasn't more expensive than the others, I am quite confident that I don't want any business dealings with such a company.

I recently placed a call to Empire Today on my mother’s behalf to get an estimate on having repair work done on the wood floors. My parents had the floor installed throughout most of the house by Empire about eight months ago. There has since been a toilet leak which seeped under the wall from the bathroom into the master bedroom and caused water damage to a few of the flooring panels. I explained this situation to the Empire representative. She told me that they still have that particular flooring in stock and the damaged area could be repaired. She quoted me a price of $2,600 to replace the bedroom flooring and some of the flooring in the hall leading out of the bedroom.

I said that really the entire bedroom floor did not need to be replaced because only a part was damaged and she informed me that their estimator would take a measurement and the cost could be less if not as much needed to be replaced. Either way I felt okay with the $2,600 quote and planned to have Empire do the work. I explained to the Empire representative that my mother is elderly and not fully aware of things. I am calling on her behalf and can they please call me back with the final price estimate. She said, "Certainly we can do that" and she took my name and phone number.

A few weeks later I give my mom a call just to see how she is doing that day. She says everything is good and that the flooring people were there replacing the floor. I was very surprised because I had heard nothing from them. She told me they gave her a new estimate of $6,349 the day before and arrived that morning to start the work. They replaced less than 200 SF of flooring, tore molding off the wall and did not put back. I called Empire and couldn’t get through to anyone that could help. They said, "We will leave a message for this person or that person to call you back" and they did not.

Finally, Jessica the manager of the Charlotte office called. I started to explain to Jessica what had happened and she cut me right off. She said, "I know what is going on. Your mother signed a new estimate which voided the one you were given." I again tried to explain and she rudely cut me off with saying the same thing over and over; my mother signed the estimate. The phone call ended with Jessica hanging up on me. My mother is 75 years old, lost her husband about three months ago, and is fighting cancer with weekly cancer treatments. I feel that Empire Today took advantage of a vulnerable elderly person. No one in their right mind would have paid that amount for the small amount of flooring repair. I think they saw that she was not in her right mind and took the opportunity to cash in.

I have rental properties. One in particular had original vinyl roll flooring in bathroom from manufacturer. It was damaged by cigarette burns from a renter. Although it was Nearly 20 yrs old it looked great and held up well to water, and normal wear. Empire was running a special so I decided to try them. Customer service and sales were great but none of the promotions applied to vinyl flooring. Sales rep tried to get me to upgrade to more expensive flooring to get promotion. I explained it was a bathroom rental therefore crazy to put tiles with seams, and laminate styles due to water in bathroom.

I expressed I would need solid sheet of vinyl to avoid water getting underneath and between cracks. After paying nearly as much for inexpensive vinyl roll as I would have a much nicer less practical flooring it was installed. Fast efficient and beautiful. Was so pleased and rented trailer a couple months later. After about 8 months renters gave notice and moved. I went to clean property noticed all the silicone trim around tub was cracked and pulling loose. I also noticed floor has extensive water damage and glue peeling up. Not only has the toilet been leaking underneath floor since install, but there is a one inch seam right up against wall peeling up all the from the tub to behind the toilet. Floor was installed one year ago. Install job was so neat and clean I did not even know they had seamed where most water would be getting out of tub and behind toilet. So because of the warranty "I was told" about upon purchase.

I called last week. Today I got a return call. I was informed the inspect fee is one hundred dollars just to come look at the glue peeling up, leaky toilet, and floor damage from water getting under it. She also informed me that "WARRANTY DOES NOT APPLY TO RENTALS?!?!" REALLY?? she has basically stated that if any repairs are needed it will cost me, before even seeing the installation error or knowing what caused problem just assumed abuse from renters. I did inspections once monthly renters were not to blame for water getting thru seams or the slow toilet leaking beneath floor. Tomorrow I will see what they say, and add photos but if repairs needed or new flooring is necessary. EMPIRE WILL NOT BE DOING IT!!!

He told me that I have to pay for the carpet because I bleached my carpet which is a lie. It’s 3 spots. I just saw 1 but the installer saw 3 more. I have a warranty but I have to pay to get it fix after they got 2,600 from me. I called the installer. He lied 3 times to come fix it but no show. I called him again. He hung up in my face. This company lies just to get your money then afterwards you on your own. The salesman full of it also. His name is Jerry. He told me to lie to them. I’m not going to lie. I’m telling them the truth. I just want my carpet done over. That’s all I’m asking Empire Today to do.

Original review: Terrible experience with Empire. They had to come to the house three times and I had to have 15 phone conversations in order to get a small area of my basement carpeted. Customer service is a joke. They just blow you off and don’t do anything. Workers did not clean up area properly after work was done. This is the worse company I have had to do business with. I too am having problems with our floor! We had Laminate floors installed by Empire Today in Wa. 5 months after we noticed flexing in the wood and the seams swelling. They came out to try and fix the problem. Then we noticed it was starting to happen all over our floors. We called again and this time they said it was something we did to the floors. That we must have done something that caused moisture damage to the floors. Mind you... I haven’t even mopped my floors yet! I have a dry swifter that I use and being that my floors were brand new... If something splashed or dripped on the floor I would use a sponge or paper towel to wipe it up immediately!

We have gone back and forth several times with customer service... They finally decided not to fix the whole floor but just the really bad spots. When they sent their installer out to fix the floor...we took pictures and had a friend of ours that also laid floors and saw that they did not seal the underlayment/ vapor barrier and it was already moving creating gaps! I have looked up every laminate floor installers websites for instructions on how to install laminate flooring properly and they all say to tape and seal the underlayment. I believe this is why we are having swelling problems, the flexing in the floor I believe is from installing the floor too tight. Not enough room to expand and move! We have had several other people out to look at the flooring and all of them have said it wasn’t installed properly!!!

Now the installation warranty is only good for one year. The 30 year moisture warranty is a joke because they just say “you must have done something to it, that we don’t cover”! $4,500.00 on a brand new floor... 7 months later having several major problems. Look on the website Consumer Affairs, Empire Today! Several complaints for this horrible company!!! We are now getting ready to sue. Thank God we took several pictures before the install and after!!!

They keep promising me they'll get back to me but every day I have to call and get no answer to this mess. Their "supposed" manager, her name I was told is Tracy, is never in the office or never available. I have a hole in my ceiling and water and moisture in my walls. They don't seem to think this is a priority to have fixed. Mold starts to produce in 100 days so I would think this would be an urgent matter to most Companies. The LV Plank installers lead by Derek failed to complete the contracted job and even stood me up for my appt. for an entire day because I would not submit to a special $350 concrete coating to a 150 sq ft entryway (it had ceramic tile over it for 21 yrs). 2 and 1/2 months and 15 plus unanswered calls and messages later, I finally caved and finished the job with another company. Bought sweet escape/coastal breeze last March. I mainly bought the carpet because of the 10-Year warranty with the R2X soil and stain resistance system (helps keep liquids from seeping deep into the fibers). The sales person that came to my house said that 'pee' accidents would be covered. Last week my dog had 2 accidents in the bedroom. There was clearly visible stains, tried the vinegar/water solution as suggested under the warranty. The urine 'stain' is gone but the smell is horrible. I called Empire Today and was told to get my carpet professionally cleaned and if the stain is still there she would contact the manufacture.

As I said, the stain is gone but the smell... Well, scroll down to the 'stain' page of the warranty and you get ' EXCLUSIONS - This warranty excludes any urine stain other than pet. Pet feces and vomit are excluded. Odor resulting from the covered pet stain is Excluded! My questions is why tell a customer that 'pee' is covered but conveniently leave out the part about the odor. Where is the 'resistance' on the carpet. Seems that this is far from the truth. I am a very unsatisfied customer, warranty is a joke and clearly was not told the truth. I will not be recommending to anyone else as well.

We chose Empire to install new flooring in our home. Installers came to our home whom where obviously a 3rd party contractor. The job was to be completed in one day, however due to the fact that they forgot a "tool" it became a two day job. Floors looked nice when completed. However, the installers trimmed my closet and bedroom doors to make the carpet fit under doors. The cuts are uneven and the newly painted doors were left with black fingerprints.

The installers when the job was complete requested payment. However, the payment amount was incorrect because our job was broken into two install dates (part of the house is under construction and cannot be floored until complete). I told the installers that I would pay the balance directly to Empire once the amount due was corrected. The installer texted me directly and called me directly demanding HE get paid because Empire would not give him another job without my job being "closed." I was in contact with Empire and was only going to provide my credit card information to them when the amount was corrected. For two days I was harassed by the installer. The installer text me over 20 times and made several phone calls to my personal cell phone. As promised, when the balance was corrected, Empire was paid in full for the floors that had been completed.

I called Empire to file a complaint about the third party installers. I also requested that Empire provide me with proof of insurance for the company they hired to install their product. I was told after speaking to four different people that "upper management" could take up to five business days to return my call and review complaint. After 1 week and no follow up I reached out to my sales representative who promised me to "always be there for his customers." Well... it is now two weeks later and after two more attempts to get him on the phone, I've got nothing.

So today, I made ANOTHER call to Empire. Got the same runaround and was told that an email was sent to "upper management," hopefully, someone will get back to me today. End result will be the following: I WANT PROOF OF INSURANCE and LICENSE of the installer of my flooring or I will dispute the credit card charges and demand a refund on my floors. I am cancelling the second order of flooring scheduled to be installed at the end of this month. Hopefully our second install through another company will have a better end result.

The issue has been resolved. I received a call, and scheduled a date to have someone fix the transitional pieces. The managers have been friendly and they were helpful. The floors were fixed and are left better than when they were initially installed.

    Original Review: Feb. 11, 2019

About 10 years ago, I selected Empire to install all new carpet in 3 bedrooms. I had no problems and never had any complaints. A little over a year ago, I decided to have new floors installed. When we met with the salesman, he recommended the vinyl flooring, which came with a lifetime guarantee. Compared to wood flooring, it wouldn’t be easily damaged with kids and pets. We were also told the floors are easy to clean and do not hold bacteria or mold.

Well, within the year we had two noticeable scratches on the floor. One was a huge gapping scratch on the floor. In another room, there was a smaller scratch, but still noticeable damage. We do not have any clue how it happened other than something was possibly dropped. We don’t have a lot of traffic in the house, all the furniture has pads underneath, the dog we have is older and well groomed, and we do not have any small children. I was now feeling like my purchase was not a good choice after we were told it was far more durable and guaranteed. We contacted Empire and they replaced the pieces of floor which were scratched. No problem, and we were still within our 1 year warranty.

Then, a couple months later, all four transitional pieces that separate the tile to the floor became unglued. No broken pieces, just came off. We could have very well bought the glue and done it ourselves, but not when the product was guaranteed, it was only over a year we had them installed, and we paid a high price for these floors.

I contacted Empire in December 2018. Of course when you call you can’t make an appointment right away. They take the message, then you have to wait until someone calls you back. No one called me back after a few days. I called them back and they of course apologized and put in the request again. Someone called me back and we scheduled an earlier Jan date. Nobody showed up. I called back and went through that painful process again, to be told I would be placed on a “priority” schedule.

We set an appointment for Jan 15th. I got a call saying the part was not in. I told them there are no parts needed, it’s just glue. They said they were unaware and they had already cancelled my appointment and would have to reschedule. The individual I spoke to was extremely condescending and robotic, absolutely no empathy for so much back and forth I had been experiencing. He scheduled me the next day. I work nights and told him that day would not work because if it was not early, I would be sleeping. The next day someone called and I missed the call. I left two messages on a number I had a direct extension to. No calls back. I then had to go through customer service again and file another request. Someone contacted me back and every time I call I have to leave a message.

I finally left a message for the days I am available and to just send someone. I got a message back saying it was scheduled for February 7th. I got an automated call saying someone would be coming and the service tech would be contacting me. Once again, there was a no-show. All day, again, someone was home waiting. No one called me back, no one followed up. I called again to a direct extension I have and no answer. I left a message this morning. I have never experienced such horrible service. The process is terrible. The follow up is terrible. The communication is terrible. Considering it's only been a year with these floors and I’ve had these many problems, I’m better off learning to do everything myself and not have to deal with companies and contractors.

I was told they would be back the next day to finish the job, but this did not happen. I was called and told the carpeting I picked out was no more available in the same lot number, and when they come back out to my house they would either have to tear out the steps that had already be done, or put carpeting that was close to the same color in my family room. Empire said that they would be back out on Tuesday, making it 5 days of turmoil in my house. This has been a nightmare, and one I wouldn't want for anyone. The aluminum oxide coating is wearing off even without scratches. Also, I measured the left-overs that the installers left behind. The wear layer is only .07 mm not 2.0 mm. I chose the product because it had a 25/50 year warranty and 2.0 mm that would allow for one refinishing a decade from now. I doubt my $10,000 purchase will last 5 years. A sales rep came to my house and I decided on the floor that I wanted. It was a Gray vinyl plank flooring, being installed over the old hardwood floors. The sales rep promised that because the square footage was so small (approx 800 sq ft), the job could be done in one day. This evidently was not something that she could promise, so I found out later. The company that Empire today hired to originally install my floors tried to tell me when they could come out and do it instead of working to my convenience. At the time I was working, so Saturdays were the only day available to me. So the floors get installed, in August 2018. A few weeks later I had to have them come out again because a pebble got left underneath one of the vinyl planks and was starting to mar the surface from walking on it. Skip forward to December and I notice that the seams are separating in every Room in my house.

I waited until after the holidays to call because I knew the holidays were a prime time for people having new floors installed. An 'inspection' was done on my floors to check for moisture and whatnot, all was good. It was decided that my entire house had to be re floored because the original installers beat the click-and-lock planks together with a mallet and broke off a lot of the lips that hold the planks together. All the floors had to be removed and laid again. I was hugely inconvenienced in having to have my house totally torn apart all day, dogs locked outside, cat locked in a small bathroom, and most of my household furniture sitting in my kitchen and dining Room.

I called Empire and explained my inconvenience to them and they offered me a compensation of $25! I paid approx $6000 and They basically said that all the compensation that I should be getting is the fact that my floors were redone. My suggestion to them was that they should have hired installers that knew how to put it in right the 1st time! As far as I'm concerned, very poor customer service and I will never use Empire again.

As for the warranty on the floors, the floors are supposed to be warranted for 25 years. However, it's NOT ACTUALLY THE FLOORS that are being warranted. The warranty is non transferable, so they are warranting the person that purchases the floors. THE WARRANTY ONLY STAYS IN EFFECT AS LONG AS THE PERSON OWNS THE HOUSE. So, if you are buying the floors in an effort to sell your house, the warranty will be void once you sell the house. I do like the vinyl plank flooring, but will purchase from any other company besides Empire in the future.

The whole process with Empire Today has been a mess. The customer service department try to make things right but they could not answer for a horrible sales department and lazy installers. Me and my husband were planning to use Empire Today to install hardwood floor on both our entire upstairs and downstairs floors. We also wanted to install LVP in our kitchen. We spent almost a $1000 testing for asbestos. Our home is a 100 years old and I would never want to expose anyone to anything unsafe. We found out that the upstairs had some asbestos tiles so we were planning to bring in a company to safely remove them in the spring and then have Empire Today install floor up there in the summer. I set up an appt online but getting a sales person out to my house was impossible. Empire Today called me to cancel the 1st scheduled appt.

On the 2nd, the salesperson showed up at the wrong time and me and my husband were not home. On the 3rd appt, the salesperson called to tell us he could not make it due to a car accident. When he finally showed up, we settled on a solid hardwood for the first floor and LVP for the kitchen. We showed him the asbestos report from the lab and he said that was fine. Customer service offered me a discount because of the inconvenience that it took to get a salesperson to our house.

When the salesperson quoted me a very high price, I asked him about the current sales and the discount that customer service offered me. He told me I could not have the discounts but he would look at getting discounted wood. I told him how much I was willing to spend, based on other estimates, and he added $2000 and said that was the best he could so. Ok, I was willing to pay extra if it looks nice and done well. I called him the week later to ask when the wood would be delivered to acclimate. I texted me back to tell me he would let me know. I never heard from him so I called customer service. I also told customer service that the salesperson was not willing to consider giving me the discounts that I was promised or any current sales and the policy on wood deliver. The customer service took off $700 and told me that the wood is delivered that day of the job.

On the day of installation, the real problems started. They showed up on time but when they got there, they told me that they could not install the hardwood because my subfloors were not level. Ok, so we asked them if Empire Today could pull up the carpet (as written in my contract) and see what need to be repaired. The install said they Empire Today does fix subfloor but told us to forget about them and call a contractor. I asked him to get us an estimate from Empire Today and he refused.

Ok, I then decided to take my $10,000 hardwood flooring job plus the work upstairs to someone else. Then I asked them to still take up the tiles in the kitchen (as written in my contract) and just install the LVF. The installer jumped on my kitchen floor a few times, looked under the stove, said asbestos in Spanish and told me that my floor is not level and he would not install the LVP either. He did not take out a leveler and when I showed him that all the flooring in the kitchen tested negative for asbestos, he refused to look at it. They left and told us to get a contractor.

I called a contractor the same day and had a second come out that week, both used levelers in my kitchen and saw nothing uneven. They even told me that my subfloors in the rest of the house were fine. Both had flooring guys who were willing to install the hardwood floors on our entire first floor. We paid one contracted to pull up all the tiles, even though it was in my Empire Today contract, and saw nothing wrong with my subfloor. He said it is 100 years old and it should last another 100 years. Customer service took off some money from the final price of the kitchen floor since I had to hire someone to take up the floor that was suppose to be done by Empire Today. We are scheduled for installation today and they are still not at my house. I will be very upset if they do not show up today. I am very unhappy with this experience with Empire Today. I hope no other customer has to go through the same ordeal. Thank you.

Had vinyl flooring put in my home. Sales rep told me it came with a lifetime warranty and it was scratch resistant. Then the installers scratched the floor. Supervisor made two attempts to set dates for it to be repaired. Both dates for no calls no shows. Come to find out there is no warranty and it is not scratch resistant. That was only reason we chose this floor versus tile due to the fact of having three dogs and three children. One of our children to whom is autistic. They also made promises to come out and fix the damages as well as credit our account as well as our belongings were damaged. They left the debris outside in the yard. Supposably last we heard it was in corporate's hands but still have not heard anything. I would not recommend Empire Today to my worst enemy.

The salesperson was fine and convinced me to buy carpet from Empire, promising it would be installed in four days. The carpet people came, didn't have the underlay for one of the rooms, laid the living room and kitchen and broke one leg off of the refrigerator. They didn't tell me - I went out and asked them to put the refrigerator back in place, they had left it in the middle of the living room and that's when I saw it. Then they went out and I was phoning to try to get commitment for completion of job so didn't realize until I was leaving that they had also bent the door jamb and the door wouldn't shut. All you get if you report these things is a customer complaint number in Texas and no callback.

When the installers came 3 days later with the rest of the order, they had forgotten the underlay. They left. There is no way to get in touch with local office, so attempts to reschedule went through Texas again. Another case number and finally installation finished 11 days after promised. No response on damages to door and refrigerator. DO NOT USE EMPIRE.

They stretched it but within 3-4 months, the carpet started buckling again. We have called several times (4 to be exact) to set up an appointment but no one ever calls back to set up the appointment time. All of the representatives insist that someone has called but we have not received any calls and not missed calls are showing on my phone. I don't think anyone has called. Really bad customer service. We will not use them again for any flooring. We hope someone does call so we can finally have our carpets fixed.

Dec. 5th salesman came to my home and took order for two rooms of carpet, three areas of engineered tile and porcelain flooring in kitchen. Total was 7k. The guys who did the work spoke no English. The salesman measured my closets for carpet but failed to properly place order. The installers weren’t going to carpet closets. The salesman called me and told me to measure my own closets and give him measurements. I told him that was his job! The installers of engineered tile ruined the paint and baseboard in my bathroom and left a huge ugly gap between floor and bottom of cabinets. The installer of porcelain flooring used the wrong colored grout, left the floor looking like a mess, ruined most of my baseboards, tore a chunk off the bottom of my door, found a can of primer in my garage and slapped it on top of my newly painted baseboards on an attempt to cover up their mess, mixed the grout in my bathtub and left it a mess.

The manager came to my house and somewhat agreed that they needed to fix everything but when they replaced the grout in kitchen they still left in an absolute mess. I sent the manager 19 photos and never heard back. I begged her to come back out to inspect the work but she said they don’t do that. They’ve gone silent on me about their terrible work. However they aren’t silent on the billing.

On December 28th 2017 I had a Salesman from Empire Today come to my house as I requested to look into flooring for my house. I was looking into either the vinyl wood flooring or tile. He told me the vinyl wood flooring would be the best to go because it was guaranteed never to scratch and due to the fact that I had three children and three dogs. One of my children to whom is disabled as well as I am disabled it would be easier for me to clean and safer for them. I decided to go with that. On January 2nd was the installation dates due to be finished on January 5th. I also paid for movers to be able to help me move the furniture back and forth to two being disabled on it unable to do. So my husband took off four days of work to be able to help them as well. However its only moved four things. One of them they weren't even supposed to move which was my 75 gallon fish tank.

In the process of installing the floors there was multiple scratches on the forest to which they filled in with a chalk like pencil. I told them why don't they just replace that plank to due to the fact that I have a lifetime warranty. They said, "Oh no problem. We do this all the time." There was multiple things in my home that they broke such as a one-of-a-kind picture frame on my wall. My daughter's dresser was chipped, my dresser leg was broken half and as well as the multiple scratches and they didn't cover the pinholes from the baseboards as well as they left their trash in my yard.

I have since called and then speaking to the supervisor supposedly and they were supposed to scheduled to come out on the 17th of January to do the repairs which I thought I should have had to wait that long. However they were a no-call no-show. I then called again to the same supervisor in which he told me he was going to try to find out what was going on and see if they could get them to come out the following week that he would call me back at the end of the business day.

Here we are on January 29th. I have left him multiple messages and I've heard nothing back and on top of that both of my neighbors came over because they're both looking to do their floors as well. The installer gentleman told me to tell my neighbors to go by the vinyl flooring or whichever flooring they wanted from Home Depot and for me to give them his direct cell phone number and he would install it directly that's kind of a shady contractor if you ask me. I've never received my first bill for the floor to which is not completed at this point and I'm being billed $15,900 for pardon my English a half-ass job.

I felt I was lied to when they told me that the vinyl was scratch-proof. Had I have known that it would have got scratched when the installer scratched it I would have chosen tile not only that but at the time that I got my floor from the salesman there was a promotion that was being ran to where you buy one room you get every other room for $50 each. I was not offered that promotion as I was told I was getting the wholesale price.

I'm very disappointed in my decision right now to go with Empire Today as I don't understand why it is taking 25 days for them to even get back in touch with me to try to come up with a conclusion. I've getting this issue resolved. My next results is going to legal matters and a higher up supervisor if need be or maybe one will read this and contact me because its issue needs to be resolved. This is not a way to conduct business. A customer should get a job completed. This is unacceptable. I feel that I was lied to. Deceived. My things were damaged, the floor is damaged and now I'm left to pay $15,900 for damaged goods. Totally unethical. Bad customer service and I would rather dokkan with another company at this point. I regret my decision as well as I have all pictures of all damages and they have them as well. Someone waiting this long is unacceptable. I am disabled with a disabled child and also a toddler. This is not right.

During the installation, the installers moved out my refrigerator and things that needed to be moved. They had it all done and were out in four hours. They were professional, clean and polite. However, I didn’t get the color or the type I wanted at all, but I went with what they had. Also, I wish that they had put grout in between the tiles because it will look and stay down better. It is down flat now but it looks like it might come up. The new flooring is a little bit darker than I wanted. But with the new flooring, it makes the kitchen look bigger. Hi, my name is Renese. I'm from Tampa, Florida. Well, my husband and I, we called Empire because we know they stand behind their name. And the fact is, is that on January 10th, when they came, I was the one at home and I had to see these guys coming to the house with their pants dropping off their butt, playing loud rap music in my home, and they were supposed to be doing the upper floor. However, when we were doing the upper floor, when they left, my husband came home one day, he stayed home on that one day, it's Friday, and noticed that, "Hey, they're not doing a good job. They're kind of sloppy." But we had to get them out 'cause we were getting ready to go on vacation. Well, after they left, we signed off on the papers, but we were not satisfied with the work order service. And when my husband noticed was-- that the stairs, before we left to go on our vacation, we noticed the stairs were done horribly, they weren't correct, that someone can actually slip and fall on the stairs and we have children. And so, having said that, my husband called them, let them know, "Hey, this is what's going on." So, they went ahead and sent someone out. When we got back from our vacation, someone did come out and it turns out that he's an inspector, his name is Mario. What he did was he fixed the stairs in like less than an hour. Not only did he fix the stairs but then after my husband saw the perfect job that he did, he said, "I wanna show you something else." He came upstairs and we showed him some other transitional parts and the carpet was fraying. And so, they have to come back again. He said that they'll have to come back again and try to fix it all. So, what we're hoping for, and we'll follow up with you again on this, is that they will remedy the situation. That's what we're hoping for, that they stand behind their product. We want to give them another chance to make things right. And Mario said that he'll talk with them and have them just redo the whole floor. So, we'll see what happens. Thanks for listening. And again, we'll follow up with you.

Well first off I am making a big decision and started to put together 2 estimates for my flooring (649 square feet). I opened the homepage of home **, sorry but don’t know if I can use their name. I logged into install specials and called the number. I was then immediately called by Empire. The employee that answered the phone told me I would get a 500.00 coupon and price match the local chains like home **. The Salesman (Brian) arrived on time, measures everything while I am looking at 9 different colors to choose from. 9, yes only 9.

I decided on a color, he then tells me the estimate would be 13699.74 but with the discount they are having he can drop it to 6000.00. I then asked him about the 500.00 coupon, he says that there isn’t any coupons and the person who took my call doesn’t know that he is already saving me money. Ok? So I then proceeded to tell him I only have 4500.00 and would have to call the bank in the morning. He said if I don’t put 25 percent down he can’t offer me the discount that day? Really? I told him I would communicate with the bank in the morning.

I text him 3 times giving him a status. The 4th text was I can’t lock in today but will in about 2 weeks. He replies with a “I’m driving and will call you soon.“ Probably generated from his phone while driving and him pressing that option which is ok but he never called me back, text or bothered. So... If you don’t get the sale you blow people off? No text, no call?? Rude! I will never do business with them, ever. He couldn’t even show me reviews of the product nor show me the interactive option with that product like the others “they sell”. I believe it is meant to be. I have received a estimate from their competitors and never told them what I was quoted nor played the I can get it cheaper game. They quoted me 3856.00 total, out the door. So... Thank you for giving me a 10000.00 difference, take my so called discount away if I don’t put money down and being so rude. I can smell dishonesty a mile away and should of went with my gut.

The hardwood floor however has gotten scratched up real fast and real easy. The scratches are so bad that my floor looks like garbage now. I cannot imagine why this happened- I do have two dogs and two cats however the sales lady insisted this particular floor would hold up against anything, even dragging furniture across it constantly (which we never have). And for the amount of money we spent on the small section of wood flooring it SHOULD hold up against anything - the cheap Lumber Liquidator wood laminate I have in three other rooms held up far better - and we installed those almost 9 years ago ourselves. I’m very disappointed with the lack of quality of this wood floor, and as of right now I will never have Empire install any more floors in my house.

Updated on 02/11/2019: I have been waiting for over 7 months for Empire to fix the window treatments, after they took my money to get them fixed. I left a prior review a few weeks ago, describing my waiting 7 months, having to make over 30 calls for follow up, which never led to anything. After leaving that horrible review about Empire Today, I finally got a callback, from someone named Mandy, letting me know that the parts were in and that they could send someone out to fix the window treatments. I had them come out the next day, but of course, they brought the wrong parts. Not even the correct color. They have to replace two pieces of plastic nothing particularly complicated, just two long pieces of plastic that hold the window treatments into the base.

I was extremely upset and disappointed with the fact that after 7 months of waiting and hounding Empire for an update, they sent the wrong items. I have called Mandy several times now over the last 2 weeks asking for an update, but as per their usual piss poor customer service record, they have yet to call me back. This is unacceptable treatment of paying customers, and they refuse to give me back the money I paid for the parts and repairs that I paid back in June 2018.

Updated on 01/24/2019: I called Empire on 1/22/2019, about my waiting more than 7 months for someone to come and fix my window treatments that are under warranty. Not to mention that the technician took money to fix the job back in June 2018. I was told on the phone during my most recent call, that my issue would be escalated to a "priority ticket" and that someone would call me back within 24 hours.

No surprise, I have not received a callback. I left a review on 1/23/2019, and the company responded that they would get back to me shortly. This has been their story day after day, week after week, for the last 7 months. To date, I have called more than 30 times and have a recorded call of my last conversation with a representative that I will be posting. I suggest anyone having similar issues, call the state's attorneys office and make a claim against them. I will be looking into how to file a class action suit against them and will be leaving the attorney's info when available.

Original Review: I have been waiting for over 7 months for someone to either fix my window treatments or return the money they took for the job. No one even returns your calls. They are quick to take your money, but good luck getting the services you paid for or the money you paid them. It's a SCAM! No one ever answers the phone for their customer service line. I leave them 3-4 messages a week and am still waiting for a callback. I hope enough people decide against using them and they go out of business. A company with such poor service should not have the privilege of staying in business. THE WORST SERVICE I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED... And I have had to deal with Comcast. That says a lot right there.

I finally cancelled my order and requested my deposit be returned which they have yet to do as of this date. I am still calling requesting my deposit. Consumers beware of this company. It is a horror story. Extremely poor service.

Empire Today installed some carpet similar to what I already had. The installer did everything right. Empire did everything accordingly and fine.

I was trying to get my floor done and I got linoleum from Empire Today. It was the color that I chose and the quality has been good so far. But I was kinda dissatisfied with Empire. When they did my floor in my bathroom, they removed my sink and when they put it back, it didn't fit like it's supposed to. I called them out and they got different questions. I still have that problem. I'm not gonna fool with them anymore, as far as my floor.

Sales was great, installers not Empire employees, they complained about putting in sub floor I paid for. When floor came unglued less than a year later I was directed to another company/person hired to handle complaints. She never answered the phone even after I returned her call within seconds. It took months and phone tag with 1 person to get a date for a man to come look at it, then weeks for another who was suppose to repair the floor only to show up (after I moved all the furniture from the room) and tell me nothing he could do. He had the same neter the first man had, the first man took video, measurements etc. The repairman sliced the seam at the door flattened the bubble and left. The bubble returned immediately. The floor crackles due to the glue not adhering. Not sure why they glued it anyway. My bathroom was not glued and is fine. They are not a local company only the salespeople are.
