The initial experience with the salesman was great. He seemed knowledgeable and professional. We explained our needs, including a sub-floor repair need in one room. The salesman indicated that the installers should be able to take care of it, but there would be an additional charge at the time of installation. He was not just an Empire salesman, as he informed us that he also had a construction company that he sold for. The salesman inspected the flooring damage and represented himself as an authority in what his installers could/would be able to do. He also talked about the quality contractors Empire uses for installation. We purchased carpet for 4 rooms and laminate wood flooring for the stairs and landing. Installation was scheduled for two weeks later.

In the days prior to installation, we prepped the rooms, moving 4 rooms of belongings, small furniture items and home gym equipment to other areas in our home. We were set, took installation day off from work, excited to finally replace 28 year old carpet. Installation day finally arrived Today. A call was received from the first crew of carpet installers, they were on the way. Upon arriving, they were shown the rooms and the sub-floor area needing repair. After apparent confusion and language barriers, we were finally understanding they were not aware of the flooring repair issue, were not prepared nor knew they had been contracted to repair it. Only stating "they don`t do".

We then called the salesman, who started back-peddling. He stated he would call the installation manager and get back to us. In the meantime, the installers were re-measuring the rooms to be carpeted and informed us they did not have enough carpet for the job. So, back to the phone with the salesman we go. The return call to the salesman produced the suggestion from him to just go-ahead with three rooms and get a reimbursement for the floor issue room. Completely unacceptable. He then said he would get back to us with a solution. We had the installers hold off, until we had a resolution from the salesman.

The installers went to their vehicle, apparently called their boss, then came back to the door saying they were leaving and we should call customer service. We then did call customer service. We were told we had to file a Service Request and someone would be back to us in 24 hours. Again, completely unacceptable regarding response, return call timing and sense of urgency considering the installation was today, but we did proceed with filing the Service Request process.

About 30 minutes later, the laminate installer for the stairs arrived. He looked at the stairs and hesitated, then began explaining about having to re-cut the stairs pieces and trying to wedge pieces in and try to make it work...and it should be OK, just not quite flush but the molding should cover it. The hesitancy and "shoulds" and "try" did not instill us with any confidence, especially considering what we had already been through in the last hour.

At that point, the salesman called back apologizing and stepping up to take responsibility for the inability for repair, which was nice, but didn't resolve our problem. He again suggested going ahead with the stairs/landing and 3 rooms. Being extremely frustrated with the over-promise/under-deliver, concerns over installer skill/quality and seemingly lack of a 'make it right' mentality of Empire overall, we canceled the entire installation and order. We had paid in full at purchase and when we inquired about getting the project refunded, were told it would take 7-10 days to process a credit refund back to our card. Again, unacceptable response.

This all could have been avoided with upfront sales, stating they can't repair the sub-floor at the time of consultation, rather than just going for the sale with an unfulfillable promise (as we could have had the floor repaired in the two weeks between contract and installation), shipping proper (even slight overage) quantity of product for the size of the job and having competent installation personnel.

Scheduling the salesperson to come out was easy. It was through their online service. He came out and then took measurements and gave me a quote. The only thing that sucked about that was he said, “This price is only good for today.” They put me on the spot. I said, “I'm not giving you an answer today.” A couple of days later, I called him and said that we did want to go with it but he still held the price for me. Then when the installer came out, he didn't have enough carpet. Empire should check on their installers on jobs and not have people come back that aren't good. There are also stains on the carpet that I don't think should be showing.

We used Empire approximately a year earlier for some flooring in a different area of the house. When we used them again, they were easy-going. We got a mid-grade laminate. It's fine for what we need it. But they subcontract out their flooring and the communication between the agreement on what's going to be performed from Empire on paper versus what's given to the contractor doesn’t get passed along. So that contractor is skeptical on what’s included. Overall, Empire is fine but they need to pass on what the agreement is to the contractor, so that way they wouldn't have that problem.

We have a home in Indiana, and we've had carpet from Empire installed there. And then, we saw in the newspaper that it was 75% off so we thought we’d replace the carpet in our Florida home. We're happy with the carpet, and the installers were great. The carpet is gonna hold up well. The salesman said that was the best one, and it isn't as spongy as the last one we had. It seems like it will wear well. Empire Today is a lot easier than trying to get samples from a carpet store and coming back and fooling around. It’s easy. They came one day. And then they came the next day and did the whole job.

The customer service fine. The process was easy because I knew just about what to do and what I was looking for. So it was okay. I chose the vinyl laminate flooring. I like the colors because it matches with my kitchen. It feels good to my floor and it brightens up my kitchen and my dining room. My floor fine. I'm enjoying it.

I had my carpet replaced with hardwood floor on the hallway of the second floor of my home and the sales rep that I dealt with at Empire Today was very good. But when we talked about the floor, I mentioned to him that I wanted the floor glued down. Then, I don't know if there was just miscommunication between him and myself, but when the installers came to put the floor in, they said they came to install a floating floor. One of them called in to their boss, then they had to get in contact with the sales rep. It all worked out, but I ended up paying an additional $300 and some for the floor to be glued down. And before we got that all settled, it was about an hour and a half to two hours before the installers could even start doing the work because they had to get this issue resolved. Other than that, the work was done professionally and I'm really satisfied with the floor.

With Empire, it was very convenient because we could have someone come to the house to show us samples and we could get nice-sized samples to view with our paint color. The quality of the carpet for the price was also better with Empire than what we found in the home improvement stores. The rep who came here was awesome as well. He was super friendly and respectful of our home and of us. The new flooring looks fantastic. It's soft and durable, so we're very happy with it.

This has been the absolute worst experience! We ordered both carpet and vinyl plank flooring. At the start, the sales guy had issues entering the sale cost and financing of our order and said he would adjust it later. He did not. On the days of install (separate for both carpet and plank) I made the requested payments before the installation and was told it was paid in full. But then, 2 months after the job was done (more on that later) they are harassing me and telling me that I owe $2278.69 MORE. When I explained why that is not the case, I then receive a letter, now 3 months after install, telling me that now I owe $2841.87...so an additional $563.18 than they claimed I owed previously. Fast forward several more weeks...they are asking for a new amount. It's very clear that this company has zero competence when it comes to sales, accounting and customer service. The amount of calls and emails I have received regarding this is absolutely over the top. I owe this company nothing more.

Now for the quality of the work. When the original flooring was removed a saw was used, but nothing around the area where the sawing was occurring was protected. I have air vents absolutely full of sawdust, I had to replace an upholstered chair that was ruined on one side due to them sawing directly next to it as well. Further, once the floor was laid, they threw away my original trim and installed trim that doesn't match and was not cut to fit at all. In addition, I have several spots where they didn't place the trim or return the base board, leaving just a bare wall space. They also cracked an expensive dresser and broke a ceiling light moving bedroom furniture. Last, the plank flooring bounces up and down in several places when walked across.

No one from the company ever contacted me to ask how the job went or if we were satisfied and we absolutely didn't reach out to them as we did not want them back in our home to make further mess or ruin anything else as its clear that they have no idea what they are doing. We are so very disappointed with the job this company did and even more so for the apparent "shake down" for more money. Avoid them if you can!

If I could give zero stars I would. We signed a contract because they said they could install the LVP on Wednesday 3/10. Then the sales person called to set it up after I paid the deposit (which by the way they charged more than they should have, more than the contract called for) and nope, can't do Wednesday, it will have to be Thursday. Ok, inconvenient because I work from home and the 1st room done was to be my office which we had emptied out. BTW they tell you arrival will be between 8am and 6 pm, that is all they can do. So Thursday at 1230 I finally get to speak to someone AFTER waiting 54 minutes on hold and nope, the crew didn't show up so it will have to be Friday 3/12. They said call after 1030 if the crew has not shown up by then and they can give you a better estimate of arrival.

So after waiting a total of 2 hours and 5 minutes on hold, nope not on the schedule for today. I say, "Why didn't some one call me?? This is crazy! Are you coming tomorrow," "No. Can't come tomorrow. Maybe Monday." I ask for a supervisor, I'm told, "I am the manager." I ask, "So you don't have a boss? That is who I want to speak to," "Nope. Not available," "Ok have them call me," nothing but crickets, no call back, no reply to any of the voice messages I left nor any response to my emails to them. You cannot call anyone directly except your sales person who can only tell you she is sorry for the inconvenience! When you call the customer service or install department be prepared to wait. I have been 54th, 78th, 125th and 147th in line for a call back or to speak to someone! Absolutely horrible service!!

So today, Monday we get a call that the carpet isn't in the warehouse yet so they can't install it today it will have to be tomorrow. Back on the phone trying to reach someone to help us straighten this out. Finally get a call and as soon as we answer they hang up. Call right back, back to the end of the line, 3 times this happened in one day. So finally get to talk to someone and explain that they need to install the LVP tomorrow, not the carpet. Nope, can't do that. Next available is 3/24 TWO full weeks after they promised it would be installed AND this is not for certain, might not happen in the 24th.

I have NEVER had to deal with such dishonesty and incompetence. I am just trying to save someone else the frustration and disappointment we have had in dealing with Empire. BEWARE, no local #, no local office, the sales people will NOT help you, say they "can't" that they will get in trouble for giving you names or numbers of the managers. We never thought they could possibly be this bad, we were WRONG! ZERO stars would be too many for Empire!

The first time out, the sales rep was easy. He showed me all the floors and explained everything to me. It was a 0% financing for the year. I got something in the mail that said the 50-50-50 or 75%. I called the company and they told me I had to call my sales rep. I asked him which was a little uncomfortable because the company sent me something then they told me to go ask somebody else. But he said he was using the best deal for me.

When the installers came, they took a few hours to do my daughter's room. About a year later, I decided to do my bedroom. Because I had the credit and made some payments, I had some money balance leftover. I refinanced my floor and they did it in two, three hours. I'm pretty happy with the floors. I would love to do my downstairs or my carpet, but I have to wait till I pay off some of the credit.

I was a little disappointed when my sister got her whole downstairs flooring and they said I wasn't eligible for the referral fee. She had my sales rep. I was in contact with him and he said something like she got it after or before, but she got it after me. My neighbors called them and he was going to get me the referral. But he decided not to go with Empire because it was too expensive.

Two years ago we called Empire, based on their reputation, to install carpet in our living room and hallway, large downstairs family room and vinyl flooring in our foyer. Very nice man came out the day after we called and spent a lot of time with us picking out our carpet. We chose a medium pile carpet, high quality for living room, and a VERY high quality Berber carpet for our family room and a beautiful vinyl tile for the foyer. The foyer tile was installed first and it was and is beautiful. The installers did a wonderful job! Then they came to install the living room. Again they did a fine job. Last came the Berber in the family room. It had to be seamed and the seam is in a high traffic area which we were not happy with.

Fast forward one year. Living room carpet has worn pretty well but now looks like a carpet you'd see in a model home. Some stains come out but not without vigorous scrubbing. We were told it was pretty much stain free and the coating it had would keep liquids from seeping through to the very expensive pad. NOT TRUE! The berber carpet looks about 10 years old, in fact my daughter's berber, which is 15+ years old looks much better and it's had spaghetti spilled on it, dog and kids poop and pee on it, has been professionally cleaned a vast number of times and still looks great. Mine on the other hand has pulls in the loops (which we were told it wouldn't do) and the seam line is virtually falling apart! Even in places that have NO traffic, such as behind a chair!

I called Empire and talked to a VERY rude lady and told her our problem and just asked for someone to come out and look at it. She refused saying we had to have the carpet cleaned first!! I told her that cleaning it would just pull more loops and she nastily insisted we have it professionally cleaned, at OUR expense before they would even consider sending someone to just LOOK at it! I don't even vacuum it if not absolutely necessary as I'm afraid it will pull all the loops up! We paid $8000 for the carpet and tile and still OWE $5000! I will NEVER use Empire again as they refuse to stand behind their faulty product and won't even give us the courtesy of sending someone to look at it. I would highly advise anyone who is considering Empire to go look somewhere else. This may be an isolated incident, I don't know but I am absolutely furious and will report them to anyplace I can find to report how they treat their customers and install faulty products.

I purchased carpet from them on March 2 March for a pipe burst in my basement where this carpet was going to be installed. I filed a claim and on March 6 call to cancel the carpet obviously because I can’t have it installed any destroyed basement. I was told I missed the canceling window by one day and that they would be keeping my deposit of $900 I could use as a credit later for any of the other services. This is a new home and I don’t need anything else so. When I explain this to them I was told, "Too bad. Missed the cancellation by one day." Guess I guess my pipe should have burst 1 day earlier then. I wouldn’t be out 900.00 on top of all the other repair costs... 0 understanding. 0 care for anything but their money... Worst decision I ever made was allowing These people into my home. I was robbed $2550. They sent a family of 4 to my home to install my cheaply made carpet. Two young children around ages 11 and 13 a gentleman and his petite wife. The gentleman knocked on my door and said he was here to install carpet requesting remaining balance from my husband. Once he paid the gentleman walked outside and came back with his family.

I pulled in the driveway to see young children cutting what was to be my padding for my carpet in the RAIN. I quickly told them we would not be installing carpet today. One it is raining now and you are not about to ruin my new carpet in the rain and two there are child labor laws. I asked this family to leave my home. I then proceeded to call customer service to request a refund because this type of installation was not what I signed up for number one and number two there is a pandemic out here and kids are the worst at washing their hands.

I feel Empire put my whole family at risk. Thank you empire!!! I was informed it’s out of my 3 day cancellation window and they will not refund me. I will take this to the news to court whatever I must do get the money empire has Robbed me from. I can’t help it’s out of a 3 day window when I signed a contract in January and you didn’t have a opening until March to install and even so I did not sign approval for illegal work to be done. There are child labor laws and I do have video of these children in my driveway cutting padding that I intend to take to court with me if that’s what I have to do to receive my full refund back.

However, there was not a guarantee that it included everything that Empire's price included. So I felt comfortable with going with the Empire. There was a lot of heartburn that happened throughout the process. When the installers got there, they pulled up the floor, just to realize that we did not upfront check the product that we had ordered, which was the wrong product. So it took about a week or so to get the product in and that was a little bit of an unexpected stress. But Empire made sure to really prioritize the situation and get it done, and it turned out well.

I had some carpets installed in almost the whole house. It's about 3,000 square feet. Aside from Empire, I got a couple of other quotes. I ended with Empire because they had a really good 50/50 deal. The salesman, John, came out and he was awesome. He really sold us on it. The carpet is supposed to be really good and it was about the same as one of the quotes I got that was a medium-grade carpet. John was pretty sweet and he made a whole diagram of our house.

The installation was a mania but the crew did awesomely. They were supposed to do it over three days but they got it done in two. They stayed 11 hours on the first day and another 10 on the second day to get the job done. I really like the carpets. My only complaint would be there are a couple of spots you step on and it feels harder. We're giving that some time before we bring it to somebody's attention. Overall, my experience was pretty smooth sailing and easy.

Empire Today was the most convenient to work with. We had put up carpets in three locations, the living room, the stairs, and the master bedroom. It looks great. The installers were very professional. They helped me move some heavy furniture and they left the house looking immaculate. It couldn't have been better. We'd be considering using them again for additional renovations in the house.

The installation was gonna be too long with other companies and we were impressed with the presentation from the Empire Today rep, so we decided to go with Empire. We had them install the carpet in my basement but the experience wasn't a very good one. The first day they were supposed to install it, nobody showed up. We called them and they said I never answered the email or their text. I never got an email or a text. So, they rescheduled it for the next day.

One guy showed up and he said that he didn't have enough carpet and he couldn't move all the stuff by himself. So after that, the next guy came back and he measured and realized they needed more carpet. They then reschedule me for that Saturday. That Saturday, they came in and installed it. The work done was very good. I like the look and the way the carpet feels when walking on it. I'd tell my friends and family about my experience with Empire. But I would also tell them that when they actually came and did the work, they did a very good job.

I was replacing all the carpet in three rooms that had the original carpet in the house. It was old and it has been there for a long time. I just decided to get it done. I Googled flooring and saw Empire Today had a 50/50/50 sale. The salesman was good. He explained everything. I got the feeling at first that because the pricing didn't reflect the 50% savings on the material, the installation, but then towards the end, he showed me the original prices and then the 50% discount. I felt more comfortable once I saw that. And then, the installer was fantastic. It was a one-man operation and he did it all in one day. I couldn't even believe he got it all done. He was very courteous, meticulous, and professional, and a very hard worker. I was happy that one guy was able to do all that work instead of me watching two or three guys around all my stuff.

The salesman showed me three different types and price ranges. I picked the middle rug and I was happy with it. It must have been the cheapest stuff you could buy that was in there before. It's a huge difference once Empire installed the rug. I walked on it, and I was amazed with the quality of the product. I could have went with a little cheaper, had I known that the one that I picked was so high caliber. It was very good stuff it could last the rest of my life.

The installers were awesome. The carpet that we chose is what we wanted and it looks great. However, I'm not satisfied with the padding. It was explained that the padding we were going to get from Empire was better than what we had. I also talked to the salesman and he was with us when we went upstairs and looked at the padding and carpet. He said what Empire carries is better than what we had. With that knowledge, we went with the padding in those four rooms that was less quality than the one we had put in our bedroom. It was less thick so it wasn't as plush. It's kind of hard. You can pretty much feel the sub-floor when you stand on it and when you walk on it. In the stairway, there's a tack strip on each step. Towards the back of each step, you can feel the tack strips through the carpet. That's how thin the padding is. That was the unsatisfactory part. We were told one thing but it's not really what it is.

The problem was there were no samples of the padding. We went with the salesman's word. If we would have known that the padding was that thin, we wouldn't have gotten it. Empire told us that the salesmen don't carry around samples of padding. Empire is also telling us that to get the padding replaced, it's gonna cost us for the labor for them to come out and pull the carpet up then they would charge us whatever it is for the padding.

There were previous work that Empire had done for us to other homes. This time around, we did laminate flooring and the work was for the primary closet, primary bedroom, great room, dining room, kitchen, and bath. I call the salesman Mr. G. Because of the previous contact with the company, he continued on to the same line that the other salespeople did which made me a return customer. Mr. G had the information I needed and he answered the questions I asked. He brought in quite a few books to look at and he made suggestions. When I told him what I wanted, he showed me what I wanted then he showed me what I needed. I went with what I needed. What he showed me and to have it installed made sense.

The timeframe for the installation was acceptable. It took two days because of the area that the installers had to do. If they had done it in one day, it would have been a little bit of a concern to me. I love the flooring and I'm pleased with it. It makes my area look bigger. My dog has to learn how to walk on it now. We had a carpet. The flooring now is definitely much cleaner than the carpeting. My dog and I are not sneezing and coughing. I'm very pleased with it.

We have only used the house less than 100 days since and due to coronavirus haven’t visited the house in last 8 months. Last time there we saw some buckling but waited 8 months till we returned to call Empire. Empire came out and said the whole house needs to be re-stretched and we will have to pay for it since the installation warranty is only one year. Seems to me this is an installation issue. Contacted another company which stated that it looks like improper installation especially since the whole house needs to be re-stretched. We have no kids or pets just two retired people using the house a few days a month. Empire should do better by its customers.

They ignored our complaint about the floor for over 3 months. It wasn't till we threatened to contact the BBB that the office manager called. She came out, agreed with what we saw and stated that it would be fixed. She even went as far to say that a professional wouldn't leave it like that. Now, they are refusing to fix what she promised. The floor is buckling, the quarter round is not secured properly or even installed properly. The transitions are all coming up. They pulled the base boards loose when removing the old carpet.

The toilets were left loose as well. They damaged the walls and the door stoppers, didn't caulk the fireplace all the way and pulled the trim away from our cabinets. They installed the floor too tight and it has caused buckling but since there is a wheelchair in the house, it's not their fault... She's a fool and has the worst customer service. They refuse to fix anything because they want to claim it's the house settling. Really? The house is not even 2 years old. They are a joke and will take the money and not care about the quality. We paid $14,000 for this and got a $6,000 job. They are nothing but liars there. Now, they are refusing to make it right other than the quarter round and toilets. What about all the rest? Don't trust them!!!

The guy didn't even want to take up the old linoleum that was on the floor. I had to dispose of it myself. But I don't have any complaints about the carpet in the living room. We also moved out everything in the living room. When they came, all they had to do was put down the carpet. In the kitchen, all they had to do was move the fridge here and there. The guy said, “I'm putting this down on my papers. You will get a discount.” But we didn't get any discount.

I thought we would get a call a day before about installation, and I got a call at 10 o'clock the day of, versus they said by 9:00, of when it was going to be installed. Also, there was a little bit of mix-up on the financing. Empire Today said that I had to pay for it before it would be installed. I got the hypoallergenic carpet for my bedroom. It looks very nice and they did a really good job installing it. There's not anything weird or coming up. The carpet is hypoallergenic but my concern is that however they attach it is definitely not hypoallergenic. It's kind of a plasticky smell. It's been a couple of weeks and it's hard to breathe so I've been having to air it out a lot every day like crazy with my air purifier that I would set in the room and open the windows and fans.

When the sales guy came out, he was trustworthy and there was no pressure at all. He had a lot of samples and he kinda talked me through it. I felt comfortable with him. But it turned out that Empire Today's sales people are independent. He would respond to my texts and he would call his boss to make things happen. Then they called to confirm my appointment which I made two months out and paid a large deposit to hold that time and date. When I tried to call the number back because I was in a meeting when they called, it picked up and said to leave a message. I tried the 800 number on the website and the hold times were like an hour. Then they called me back again and I couldn't pick up. They left a message saying, “If you don't call us back and confirm this, your appointment is cancelled. We don't know when you can reschedule.”

I called back and confirmed but I hadn’t heard back. Finally, they showed up. The morning of, they were supposed to call to give me the time because it could be between like 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM. They never did. Luckily, I was available but the guys that came weren't professional at all. They did some things that made me really mad. They were very loud. They had no idea what products they were putting in. I said wanted to confirm if the carpet is hypoallergenic but they didn’t know what that meant because English wasn’t their primary language. That’s not a big deal to me but the problem was they didn’t know if it was hypoallergenic.

They had all their tools and they needed to set them somewhere. They went and opened a door I had closed and walked into my master bathroom. It was kind of odd to just kind of start going into other rooms. I have these very plush and expensive white rugs in there and they set their dirty tools on there. When I saw it, I kind of got upset. They busted some of the tiles and I don’t blame them but I wish they would have mentioned it. I asked the guy for receipt for my final payment and he acted weird. He pulled out the form that kinda had what would be my receipt on it and I found out why he was acting weird. At the bottom, I have to sign it and write in how my experience was. He had already filled it out for me and signed my name. I told him that’s not even a legal thing to do. It was really sketchy.

I felt very alone in the process. I had bought this from this guy and he was great but after that, I didn’t know what was going on, who was showing up and when they were showing up. Then they came but I didn’t know who they were and if they had the right product. I don't think I would use them again and I definitely wouldn't recommend them to a friend.

Empire Today would able to take $500 off of the job for the hardwood floors and be able to get the job done by Monday for my husband's birthday on the 23rd of January, so we went with them. Their sales lady was very awesome. She came from Evansville. We picked out the wrong color and we matched it with the table in the middle of our rug. It did not match the base of the floor. So when the sample came all the way from Illinois, they had to drive up here two and a half hours with all this wood and it wasn't the right color. So we had them pull everything out as far as they could go. If Empire Today would have had the material in Madison, they would have been able to do it one day. The two guys came up to do it and they had to come back. They both couldn't come back the next day because of the ice storm. But one guy came back the next day and he did an awesome job. We’re so happy with it.

There was one section that my husband didn't notice because he was not a perfectionist like me. We had Empire do it because we didn't know what we were going to do with the carpet. My husband has got a bad back so for him to do it himself will be a lot of work. It was worth the money to have it done. But there was a little skidmark. It looked like someone took their heel on this one piece of wood. I wish I could get that replaced. It's just one little slab. If they could come back and fix that little piece, that would make my day.

I've gone with a few different options in the past, but it's been a while and I thought Empire was something I’d try out because I've heard so much about them through their advertisements. I liked, in this day of COVID, that they were willing to bring all the samples and we could match to what we wanted right here in the house. I was doing a bonus room upstairs so I was looking to carpet the stairwell and then do either a vinyl or a laminate for the flooring upstairs, and I went with the laminate.

The gentleman that came was friendly and knowledgeable, and went over the options with me, and tried different samples that my wife and I looked at. We were able to match them up against the wall and try to get a good look of what it might be, what it might look like coming up the stairs, and what it would look like inside the room itself. He narrowed it down, although there was not really a great big deal of options. He only came with a few books and had it narrowed down somewhat quickly. But for what we got and what we chose, I was pretty pleased with. He was with us an hour and a half and the purchase was done right there, and I went with the credit option so it took a few more minutes to apply for that. All in all, it was a fairly smooth process.

The installers were willing to come in within two or three days. However, I had to delay it a little bit because I wanted to paint the room and the hallways first. Then I had a little bit of travel in there. It was about three weeks before I had them come. We did the laminate flooring first on Monday. There was one person that installed that and that took about five hours roughly. Then about two days later, a team of three people came and did the carpeting in the stairwell. That was maybe an hour and a half. All in all, it was good. As far as the finished product, it looks good.

They also installed a quarter round to go up against the molding and looking at that and the threshold at the top of the stairs, that was a little bit shoddy. In fact, I have to call the gentleman back and then I’ll see if they could come out and just clean it up a little bit because there's a little bit of a tack or a nail that's kind of popping out a little bit on the threshold. It's not really dangerous, but it still is enough to step on it. I don't think it's going to break the skin but it shouldn't be there. There is couple of other little areas where they could have done a little bit of a neater job with the quarter round. Other than that, I'm mostly pleased. I just want to get them back out and finish up given the money I spent.

Another thing was they were advertising like 75% off of the wood floor. That was one thing that drew me in. When they got here, right away, they said, “Oh, well, that's a cheaper material I could give you, I've got some flexibility to give you a different discounts.” The rep kind of went over that with me and was showing me different things. I was thinking it's a gimmick. It was like 50% that he was giving me, but I ended up paying about 700 more than I really had in mind for spending. But I didn't do a whole lot of pricing out because they're trying to get the sale right away and I was pretty pleased with what our selection was. Overall, they did a good job. I just need to get them back out. The sales guy was good and I didn't feel a bunch of pressure because I knew he's following a script.

Empire had a good price and a product that I liked better than the others offered me. The sales representative that came out was a little pushy. I actually liked the sales representatives better from the other companies that I got estimates from. But because I liked Empire's product and the price was better, I decided to go with them. I try not to be too swayed by the salesperson because they're trying to make the sale. He was too pushy for my taste. The other ones were more trying to inform me about their products. They were trying to sell to me, but they weren't as obvious as the salesperson from Empire Today.

The installers came on time. In fact, they came early, which perturbed me a little bit. But they didn't have traffic. And with COVID, everything is running a little more smoothly in the Los Angeles area. So, they were a little bit early. They brought all the products. They did the kitchen, plus a bathroom. They probably took about six hours to do it. I'm also having my cabinet replaced, and so, they left me some of the quarter-rounds. So, when the cabinets are replaced, they can also put the new quarter round in. They're going to have to take it out to do the cabinets. They were very professional, very nice and worked really hard. I couldn't have been more pleased with the installation team.

I'd tell others to consider Empire. I'd tell them to go with them if they're comparable to other companies in terms of price and product. I couldn't have been more pleased with the installation process. You want that to go smoothly. They did a beautiful job, too. I've seen all the commercials on TV, and they're kind of cheesy. But they lived up to their hype on their commercials, which doesn't happen often. As far as the new flooring, I like that my dog can't destroy it. I have a 10-month-old puppy. I had linoleum that was down that I replaced, and she was ripping up the linoleum. She cannot destroy this floor. It's beautiful. It's easy to clean.

And the quality of the flooring is good. Overall, we're happy with the product and the installation. Also, I finally was able to set up a monthly payment with Wells Fargo. I got a hardcopy bill in the mail, and that was supposed to be paperless, and I was able to set up a recurring payment. But that part of it was not user-friendly. In the future, Empire needs to figure out a way to make that whole situation with the 12-month interest-free promotion a lot more user-friendly for the customers.

I had Empire Today put in carpet on my basement. My interaction with the installers was pleasant. The only glitch throughout the system was when the fellow came out, he told me that I would receive a confirmation email to make sure I was signed to get email about installation time, but that never happened. I guess they were trying to call me to do it instead of the email. But because of my work schedule, it was complicated. And then when we got it fixed, the installers needed a confirmation that I paid. I was never called to give them a confirmation number. I was never given a confirmation number. So, when I had to call when the installers were here, that was 20 minutes I was on the phone waiting for the customer service lady to reach whatever department that holds the confirmation numbers. Other than that, I was pleased with Empire Today.

We decided on replacement of the floor in the kitchen. Empire Today was able to come out in three days. They showed us some samples and we picked one, and that seemed to match the continuing floor into the breakfast room. They installed the planks and pounded them together. That means that they stuck side by side, which is okay. The installation took four hours and they did a fine job so far. But check out other alternatives.

When the guys arrived, we all concluded with the snowy weather that it would be best for them to work in our garage. So, I moved to my car and they helped me prep the floor of our garage for trimming the carpet, and then they got to work. They did the stairs and one room. There was an ad for 70% off of flooring. So, I initiated the call to Empire. I didn't buy the 70% off carpet because the salesman said that there was something else available, several other things that would be about $100 and $150 more. I went with one of the other ones that he showed me, and it's fine. It looks good. The installers were good. The gentlemen who came to my house had to go out to his car about four different times to get me different samples. He showed me the ones that were 70% off and some of the other ones that he had available that would be in the price range but a little bit more after discounts.

I had a little difficulty with the installation experience because I know the date that I gave the gentleman to schedule it for, and then I got an email telling me they were coming the next day, which was fine but I have a part-time employment right now. I need to leave the house at 4:00 o'clock. So, I called, and they said the first one starts at 8:00 to 10:00, and then 12:00 to 2:00, but I was on tap for the morning. It should be fine, although I would hear from the installers. I didn't hear from the installers, and it got to be just before noon, and I called. They said they'd be there between noon and 2:00. I called back again, and I didn't get a response. About 1:30, the installers called me and told me they would be here in about 25 minutes, which they were, and they did get it done. They were out by about 10 to 4:00.

It was only one room. It wasn't a lot but I spent virtually all day, and then had to be concerned. The installers told me if they would have known, they would have put me on their schedule for first thing. I told that to the gentleman who came to the house. I told that to the person on the phone. And the person on the phone, in the scheduling process, told me that I was scheduled for first thing in the morning. So, I was at my house all day. I was afraid to leave. That was a little too over-the-top for me.

The other thing is I had just contracted with a roofer and he put me through Wells Fargo, and Wells Fargo did not approve me for the full amount. So, I had to go and then get credit from another company. When the salesman from Empire came in, I told him, “I think I should qualify for your credit. But if this already hit, I wouldn't qualify.” He even asked me, “Was one of them Wells Fargo?” I said, “Yes.” He said, “Do you wanna go through us?” I said, “Well, yeah, I'd like it.” It was a very good deal for financing. There will be no interest to pay in 12 months. So, I said, “Yeah, I’d really like that.” Lo and behold, he put me through Wells Fargo. So, it's a mark on my credit for running it through Wells Fargo, and then being declined.

So, I pulled out one of my credit cards, and I had to put down 50%. I can pay it off and I'm not worried about the interest. It’ll take me two or three months to pay it off but it's worth it. I have the carpet. I'm happy with it. I'm happy with the job that the installers did. It's just that that really kind of ticked me off. I was ready to say, “Okay, forget it.” But now, since I’m this far through the process, you get to the point where you don't wanna shop around anymore. I would recommend Empire with stipulations like, “Watch out for this. Watch out for that.” I would say, “Yes. I would recommend that you at least have them come in and give you an estimate and stuff like that. But be leery, one, of the financing. Because not everybody is approved.” Even though my credit score was in the high sixes in one, and over 700 with the other, I didn't qualify because it was Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo had just given me $10,000 a couple of days before for my roof.

    Reviewed Feb. 14, 2021

We have used Empire in the past. They installed some carpet for us up in Minnesota a number of years ago. For the wood flooring in this house, I had been looking around to try and find a narrow plank floor to match the one existing wood floor in here. My mom had done the same thing in her house, and Empire did a really great job for her when she was putting that type of flooring into the master bedroom to try and match the stuff that was already existing. So, that was really the reason that we chose Empire the first time.

Unfortunately, our first experience was awful. So, I swore I would never go with them again because of it. Although, we do have lovely floors for the first two rooms that were installed. When a big renovation project came around, what we decided to do was to go ahead and try and match the floor for the kitchen and dining room to the other two rooms that they would install. So, I looked around, and I was really having trouble finding the Armstrong product. Finally, my husband said, "Listen, this isn't going to happen again. Let's just call Empire."

When we called, their salespeople were wonderful. So, I have absolutely no complaint with them. We had difficulties again when it came time for the installation. There was some miscommunication about the actual product itself. We thought that it was a similar Armstrong product. When we had talked with the salesperson, he said that there are changes that are made. Sometimes, it's just the color name, other times, it's products. We really thought that we were going to get the same product. When it showed up, the installer said, "This is not the same product" and showed us all the differences. She immediately said. "You have an Armstrong product on your floor. This is not." We did not prompt her.

We contacted our sales rep, Dave, who was wonderful. He checked to see if there was any stock left of this because what he found out was that the Armstrong product had just been discontinued, so we can't get it anymore. So, that fast forwards us to the install of what's currently sitting down here that the inspector came for on February 4th. We're in trouble with this floor too. He counted at least 100 defects between the two rooms. I have no idea what's going to go on. Empire was to follow up with this week to see how to move this process forward.

The salespeople are responsive and they have all sorts of suggestions for you. The problem that we're having and that we've had on two occasions is not with the sales' end but it's with everything else. The first time, it was install problems, and we had install issues in Minnesota too. They've ruined a lot of the baseboards when these guys were installing the carpet. I didn't have time to replace big sections because it was real Cherry. So, I, myself, went out and found somebody who does wood restoration in old homes up in that area. I hired him to just do it before we put the house on the market. We did it in our cost because we didn't have time to futz around with the system.

The same thing kind of happened again with this wood floor install. The whole corporate structure in Illinois, two years ago, it seemed to fall apart. We complained on a number of occasions. I hate being like that, but in order to get any action on the floor, we ended up with a completely different product. We went through and talk to one of the reps who handles customer service, and then, I wouldn't hear from anybody for weeks on end. I finally posted a pretty scathing review to the Better Business Bureau. When even that didn't help, we ended up filing a motion with the Illinois AG. I don't know if that was coincidental, but that kicked a couple of things into motion, whereby inspectors came out, and then it was decided that there were both install issues mainly, and product issues too.

There were product issues with the floor, which is why Empire finally said, "Pick a different wood floor." We went with the newest one that was a wider plank version of the narrow plank that didn't match the dining room. As we were getting to this particular install, what we're finding is that the salesforce is really good. They definitely intervened. The inspector who came out was wonderful. But it's maddening that you don't hear anything after that. My kitchen has been torn up now. I have metal racks in here holding garbage all over since December 26th or 27th. Empire is not good on follow-up. I could never recommend them for that reason. It doesn't make any difference if their salespeople are good if both the install process and the product aren't living up to expectations. I feel bad because we were so excited to try and get this started again with Empire. And then it was like, "Oh my God, and now you have sidelined us yet again."

The carpet they installed looks really close to the carpet I did have. But it’s soft and if I did spill something, it comes right off. It was a professional and fast experience overall.

I ordered 2 rooms of carpet on 1/26. We agreed on delivery on 2/8. I was told what items needed to be removed before the install. On 2/3 I received a call confirming the install and that no one in the house was ill, if so to call in. The 2/7 I spent the day moving the items from the rooms and disassembled the bed as I was directed. I got up early because the times given were 8 am- 6 pm. I waited. A little after 9am I called and went through the automated system. When I dot to the “delivery today” part, the phone went dead. I called my salesperson told him the issue and he said he would call back. He did and said he had the same problem. He said he would keep trying and have them call me back.

At 2:00 I tried again. Same results. I tried again with same results. I tried again and got through. This time they told me they tried to call on Saturday to reschedule but I didn’t answer. I disagreed because I had no miss calls on Saturday and if they had called why not a voice mail? I also said they had called on 2/3 and left a voicemail mail which I returned within an hour when we confirmed the install. Needless to say, I am still waiting on carpet and will have to move things around to even go to bed tonight. Very upset!!!!

I recently purchased my home in AZ. with intentions of having the work completed before we moved in from MI. I hired painter who were going to start before the flooring was installed. I was having problems with the first company with installation timing. I called Empire Today because of the company's reputation. The actual flooring product is a good product. The in home sales person told me that if I act now I could have the work completed in 4 days and receive a discount. On January 22, 2021 I paid half down and the other half was due when the workers arrived.

On January 25, 2021 the first day, 2 workers arrived 50 minutes late, only 1 could do heavy lifting, the other one had a leg injury, both were under 25. I was asked to pay the balance, then I was told that all of the material wasn't in, they didn't have the materials for the steps it would PROBABLY be in within a day or 2. I called the sales person who initiated the contract: she knew nothing about it. I refused to pay until the materials arrived, It was subtracted from the balance. It is now Feb 2, 2021 still no materials.

There were several flaws in the workmanship, the trim around my built-in desk was cut incorrectly (you can see the sub-floor), nail holes and cracks in the base board were not filled in. I had to purchase materials for them to complete certain jobs, workers never wore mask in my home, left windows open when they left for the day. This list goes on and on. I have had to reschedule my move because the work is not completed. I submitted pictures to the sales agent with a detailed list requesting the job be completed ASAP by more experienced, mature individuals. The response I received was "they will contact you" My questions are "Who is THEY?" and "When?" My biggest disappointment with Empire Today is: I should have been give the option to cancel the job and offered a refund if the company could not deliver on their promise.

They were really responsive. We called Empire for an appointment and the sales reps were able to come out that day. We had carpet installed and we were concerned because there was old floor tile. Some of it had been removed, but part of it was not. It was old floor tile that might have been asbestos-containing and around the perimeter where they would tack, a lot of it had been removed so there’s concrete underneath. The rep said it would be fine but as soon as the installers came out, they walked right in and they stopped short. They refused to do anything and left without any explanation or opportunity to say what needed to be done.

I could have created a solution in 10 minutes. The amount of work that needed to be done took approximately 10 minutes. I showed frustration and they refused to really talk to me about it and left. We went back into the queue for the installation and it took an additional three or four weeks before they could come back out. When they did, they did not show us the carpet and confirm if it is what we want. They just put it down pretty quick, which was good. I’m glad it didn’t take long. But they didn't tell me the specifications and the quality. I don’t know if we got what we paid for or if they just brought in a cheaper grade. Also, when I was trying to reach out to them, a lot of their numbers would just put me into a loop. It took a long time to finally find a person to talk to.

Please seek other flooring companies. I had hardwood floors install a few months ago in 5 rooms, and there are gaping holes and poke marks everywhere. When the company visits, they can't believe that the job was done less than four months ago. The wood is cut uneven throughout the home, with hollow areas that expose underlying spaces.

However, a company inspector came and noticed the terrible install and stated a renovation is needed. When I initially had the work done, there was no furniture in the home. Now there is furniture that needs to be moved, which I can't do. To summarize the inconvenience and frustration, I have called and spoke with over six reps, and over twenty calls and new tickets service request each call and still don't have a firm or set a date for the project. This is causing frustration and a major upset in my home. As well I ordered furniture a few months ago which now has to be stored elsewhere. And the customer service numbers and reps extensions are useless.

The carpet hardly has any traffic on it as it is the master bedroom and we are senior citizens. I called up Empire to see if it was warranted and if they could fix it. I received a call back from them stating it would cost $140 to have someone come and fix it as the warranty was for a year. Reschedule to 1/5/21 and I had to call two hours after they were supposed to show up to find out they weren't coming. Reschedule to 1/8 and they cancel as they don't have stock. Reschedule to 1/12 and they show up with the wrong stock again. When I called service to complain, I was met with indifferent obstruction, seems to be a core values of their call center. Empire Today came three separate times. The carpeting and the laminate flooring were great. The first two teams were phenomenal. My son was here for the first installation and he said they did a great job installing it, cleaning up after themselves and taking everything away. The same goes with the second one. It one was an all-day job. They were here almost 10 hours doing the whole second floor laminate flooring. They made sure they cleaned up after themselves.

The second job was kind of a combination, the laminate flooring then we had finished the carpeting on the attic stairs that did not get finished the first time. The team that came out to do that was a little frustrating. We were told that they were going to come towards the end of the day but they ended up showing up after 5:30. Within 20 minutes of showing up here, they ended up saying they had to come back another day to finish the job. It was too cold and we had to reschedule with them which was frustrating 'cause then we had to find another day to have them come back.

The only thing that I do not like about Empire is the way they schedule. The first time, we were told by the salesman that they would come within a four-hour time frame. We got a call the day before saying that, "We do not know when they'll be out and you have to block off the whole day from 8:00 to 5:00. You'll know in the morning more about when they'll come within that time frame." That happened both times. The second time, it was a confusion because the salesperson that called us did not know that it was going to be an all-day job and kind of got me confused because they said they weren't going to come 'til the afternoon. But they were supposed to come first thing in the morning because it was going to take them all day to do it. That was the lady calling me not knowing what kind of job it was. That part of it is frustrating too. But the quality of work itself and the product itself are great. I'm very happy with that.

    Reviewed Jan. 19, 2021

When the sales rep from Empire Today, Robert, came out here, he was very respectful and knowledgeable. He listened well. Based off of what we said, he brought in specific samples instead of just bringing in a bunch of samples to overwhelm somebody. He narrowed it down to a couple of different books on each product. The other part of the deciding factor was that he made it sound so easy. It was like a one-stop shop where there were things that needed to be done. We didn't have to get someone that only did carpet then get someone else come in and do the floor. We had things such as the toilet that needed to be moved and we didn't have to get a plumber to move them. He made it sound easy.

The installation team was thorough in that they wanted us to check right away to make sure that the products that we had ordered were the same things like the colors. The challenging part of the interaction was that one of them spoke nothing but Spanish and the one that I was talking to spoke some English but mostly Spanish. I can speak some but I don't speak a lot. Thank goodness that I understood him enough to be able to communicate with him.

When you have that language barrier, they don't always understand exactly what happened in the initial sale with a representative. There was a point where Robert said that if my husband disconnected all of the plumbing, that they can move the sink and cabinet out and move the washer and dryer. I don't think that that gentleman understood that that was a promise. What he said to me in Spanish was that sales people make promises but that those promises they make are not always accurate. It was a little frustrating at first and he didn't want to help move that cabinet so my husband did take it out. He told me, “We're not supposed to move cabinets.” The cabinet wasn't even big. It was for a small slop sink. When I called Robert, he called his supervisor and said, “When they get ready to reinstall that cabinet, I want him to help Mr. ** with it,” and he did do it. The communication between the salesperson and the supervisor for the team that comes out is key.

The other problem we had was I had given Robert half of the money down to order and set the appointment. He told me then the other half will be expected when they arrived, and I said okay. When they arrived, I gave the guy my credit card. He called whatever number they call to get the cards approved and he said that he couldn't get it approved because it was busy. He wanted a check so I started to write a check. Then he told me in Spanish that he couldn't take a personal check, that he wanted a cashier's check from the bank. I told him I was not going to leave the house and go to the bank to get the rest of the money. I said, “This is the same card that I gave Robert. There's not a problem with the card." He was kind of delayed in that he was trying to get it approved before they would work. But he finally sent the other guy upstairs to start working.

He was on the phone for about 30 minutes and he couldn’t get it approved. If the credit card place is busy, then they need to give him another option that he can use so that he's not the one feeling paralyzed by the situation. He said it was so busy and that he was going to stay on the phone, but that he would start working. He was telling me that his supervisor said he couldn't take a personal check and I told him that wasn't true because Robert was going to take a personal check from me. He said that the credit card is a little bit quicker in getting it approved that was why I used the credit card. But it finally did get approved. The crew themselves were really good as far as getting the job done. One started working on the bathroom and the other one started installing the carpet on the stairway. Then they both finished the laundry room together and cleaned up after themselves. They were very hard workers and respectful. They did a great job.

The only thing that would be good to tell the installers is that when they're laying stuff that they're taking, like when they're pulling floors up and they have their tools, instead of laying their tools on the flooring or on the carpeting, would be to have something that they lay down and put that stuff on so that there's not the possibility of scratching or tearing a floor.

We ended up getting the vinyl plank and the laminate floor, and we're pretty happy about the quality. The installers did two bathrooms for us and they had to come back another day to finish the job. We were expecting them to come between 10:00 and 11:00 in the morning for the second appointment, just like they did the first time, but noon and afternoon came, and we didn't hear anything from them. We gave Empire a call and asked what was going on because my husband took a day off from work waiting for them. They said they were surprised that we haven't heard anything from the installers and another half-hour later, the installers called and said that they were at another job and they wouldn't be over until about 6:00 P.M.

Then, they didn't come until about 7:00 because they were coming from another town, which is about 45 to an hour away. And they didn't finish until almost 11:00 P.M. They came right when we were eating dinner, then they were working until past bedtime. That was irritating for us, but we wanted to get it done because we didn't want to waste another day. They asked if they could reschedule because it was too late and we said no because we already took that time off all day and we were not going to take another time off just for them to install the products. The communication on their part could have been improved and if they would have told us the day before or that morning that they had another place that they needed to go to, then we could have planned our day better. But they did a good job.

I've used Empire in the past and when I used them again recently, ,my experience was fantastic. Their rep who came here was really helpful and he showed me a bunch of different things. We talked about what I wanted to do as well as what would make one better than the other. The options that he gave me were more than I had thought and he also gave me a couple ideas I didn't think about. Then, I made a decision and he scheduled the installation. When the guys got here, they had the right carpet and they installed it. The shape of my basement is not common and it's really odd. But they did an excellent job and and they were all masked up while working. Everybody who comes down here says they can't believe how nice this carpet is.

I hired Empire Today to replace flooring in kitchen, dining room, and two baths. It was a huge mistake. The installers left it a mess, glue and grout all over. The tiles are peeling after less than a month. They are uneven and lines don’t match. They damaged walls and door frames. They left molding uneven and not matching. We reached out to get this fixed. We waited a month to get someone here. The installation manager came out to look at work, he was rude and made excuses for poor quality work. When I pushed for a response to my questions about quality and if he would accept job he said no. We heard from district manager who blamed us for mopping the floor and this caused tiles to peel. So I guess we can never mop floors? Also that we intentionally picked at it.

They blamed us for walking on it too early, but their entire crew marched out on same floor carrying tools and supplies immediately after finishing job. We were not offered a walkthrough, we had to ask them several times to put on masks. The damaged existing baseboard but will not fix because they said it wasn’t written into contract while they wrote contract. They offered to fix some tiles but will not stand by poor quality installation and product. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY.

I've got an app for HomeAdvisor and I told them that I needed some flooring. They sent me three applications and Empire was the only one that responded. I liked the offer that Empire had, so we signed a contract with them. The quality of the flooring is good. But I'm not necessarily that fond of the installation. They left some glue on the floor and I don't know how to get it off. Also, some of the tiles in the corners is starting to come up. I've already called them to have them come out and and repair those, but so far, I haven't heard a reply back from them yet on when they will come out.

This company in the past 1 year has cost me over 1500 dollars and months of my time in order to repair the floors and damage they caused as their practices and rules will not allow them to do the right thing. They broke plumbing in my home costing me about $775 and only agreed to compensate me $225. They want to charge me 425 dollars to repair my floor but want to charge me almost 400 dollars to have me buy material to fix it myself. I've seen their reviews on BBB and notice that when they do a good install, it's great but when they make a mistake, they refuse to do the right thing for those customers. I highly urge customers not to be swayed by their low prices as you are getting what you pay for and goodness forbid something goes wrong. Expect them to gouge you on any repairs, even if they are the cause of such damage.

We replaced the carpet in a home that we just sold. It was four bedrooms more or less and stairs. A lot of the sales companies I've dealt with in the past were very sleazy but it wasn't like that with Empire Today. We had noticed a discrepancy originally on one of the quotes but when I reached out to the sales number, everything was taken care of once we identified it. I had a good experience with them.

Empire Today had a very good special and the rep was cool. He was fun to talk to and he made me feel at ease. Empire was great. I rescheduled a couple of times and they were very helpful with that. They even offered me a discount if I were to install it at a certain time. They did a Berber carpet on the stairs and the upstairs game room, and I like the quality.

Empire Today is a great company. We liked their pricing and our sales rep, Max, did a really great job of pitching a sale, presenting everything and explaining how everything worked. The way they had everything bundled worked out for us. We did the luxury vinyl plank for our entire upstairs and we like the layout and the type of the product. It's also waterproof.

We've had good luck with them. I did vinyl tile flooring in all the bedrooms, bathrooms, and the living room. The installation took two days. They worked very hard. I had a loose tile or two and they came back. They looked at it and ordered some stuff. It went good. I had hardwood floors installed in Arizona and they did a good job out there also.

I had carpet put in my living room and the bedrooms that I have, and then I had hard laminate hidden for a walkway and hallway. The installation team was good. For the first day, there was a bit of a miscommunication. It took a little bit to get everything figured out and back out here. It was a little bit hard to communicate because there was only one person that spoke English, and the others did not speak English. But everything looks good after the installation.

Our daughter had used Empire Today and it was such a good experience that I held it in the back of my mind. We've been in our house for 17 years and I needed a closet 'cause I'm pretty much doing away with carpet. I thought, "I'll just call Empire." The process was very simple and very comfortable. The guy came to our house and he was very pleasant.

They gave us a date but somehow, nobody took it out of the system. We were expecting them on that date date but got no notification. We confirmed it four days in a row, and apparently, they were closed down and it ended up being two weeks later. I don't blame anyone but COVID for that. It was annoying, but I understood when we were told what happened. We would still call them again. The guys that came looked at the closet and I felt a little bad for them because they're like, "I don't think we have enough carpet." But they had enough carpet. It's a very oddly-shaped closet and very large too. They were here and out and gone. Everything was cleaned up.

The installers from Empire were quick and efficient. There was a lot more dust in my house because we had ceramic tiles to take up and that dust got everywhere, which we all understood. When we cleaned, they helped us straighten it up. One of the workers they had did a great job. She was wiping things down as they were doing other things. I was really impressed. One thing I would suggest is that maybe they should sell felt tips for the furniture with their flooring - something that people who don't know about flooring and moving furniture and things like that would possibly know about too much.

I had some hardwood floors put into the kitchen and by the entryway. Then, I had carpeting done in the whole house. The guys who did the hardwood floors and the carpet were great, but the very first guy out here to install the hardwood floors didn't end up doing the job. He didn't seem like he wanted to do much of anything and made some excuses and left. But there was a product issue, too. The product that was selected wasn't gonna work for the area. Other than that, I'm perfectly happy with Empire.

We needed the carpet installed in a bedroom quickly. Empire Today advertised how quickly they could install the carpet so we went with them. The rep was wonderful. He knew that we weren't looking for a top-of-the-line carpet because we're intending to sell the home. He was very accommodating and offered us different options that were lower budget. The gentlemen showed up for the installation and they were very polite. They helped move a couple pieces of furniture that were too heavy for my husband and I to move. They worked quickly and put things back. They did a fine job and cleaned up and vacuumed. We could not have asked for more with them. Empire Today is worth considering as an option especially if you need your carpeting quick.

Getting the purchase, going over all our options and financing were good. Everybody I've talked to has been really helpful. They communicated with me well enough. They called before they came so it helped us out a lot. We had two rooms done with linoleum and those guys did a really good job. There were some issues with the carpet though. There was a miscommunication somewhere on which carpet it was supposed to be. The first time they came, they did our living room and bedroom. They did the living room perfectly. In our bedroom, it was short a couple feet so they sent a different guy another day but they brought the wrong carpet. It was the wrong color and thickness. The third time they came, it was still the wrong color but it was okay.
