I liked Empire Today's cost and quality a lot better than the other brands I considered. Also, I liked how quickly they could install the carpet. I like the color and the value. And the product versus the cost is really good. The people from Empire were all great, from the lady who came to the house to the guys who installed the carpet.

I have done dealing with them before in two other rooms. So, I like their work. I had carpet installed in my front bedroom and the quality is good. Before, I had a darker brown. This time, I went with a lighter tan, but not too light. I didn’t want it too light.

When we had put some carpeting in our home a couple of years ago, we looked at a couple of different people and got some different estimates. We went with Empire. I also stayed with them when I chose carpeting for two bedrooms in a rental home that we own. The carpeting needed to be replaced and that was done beautifully.

A representative was assigned to us and we were given an appointment window, as a lot of companies do like from 8:00 to 10:00 or 10:00 to 12:00, and also a date for him to come. He contacted us early in the morning at that date to confirm the appointment window then met us at the property. First of all, he asked us what we were considering and what price range we wanted. He had noted that it was a rental home, so he didn’t really try to convince us that we needed huge, expensive carpeting for those two bedrooms. He said it was in a really reasonable price range. He showed us several alternatives, discussed the carpeting and the padding with us, the turnaround time, and the possible delivery times. After we had wrapped up, we had chosen the one that we liked.

We were having the house painted at the time, so it was easy to match the carpet with the color of the new walls because they were being made new simultaneously. We chose the carpeting and he checked on a couple of possible installation dates. He found one a couple of days later in that same week then set our schedule and their schedule. The only thing that I was curious about was paying the deposit with a check, which got photographed and sent over the internet, then handed back to me and voided. It was a procedure I had not ever used before. It was a little crazy to do it over the computer that way rather than just handing the check and have them turn it in. But it seems that the payment went through very smoothly, and the same method was used two days later when we had the carpeting installed.

We had a window of what time that the gentleman would be coming to install the carpet, and they arrived in the first portion of that window in the day. But I don’t think they called ahead of time. They just appeared without making us wait all day long for them. They were in and out of the home in a very quick and efficient manner. They measured, organized, cut the carpet, and put it down. They did a beautiful job and they finished within about two hours for the two bedrooms. We’re very happy with the product.

In both instances that we’ve talked with the people who have come out to make the sale, they’ve been really interested in what we wanted to do and how we perceived redoing the house. They didn’t try to convince me to carpet my entire house since I told them I only wanted to carpet the upstairs and leave the wood floors in the downstairs. They didn’t try to twist my arm to change my mind. They just sat right down and got to business with what I wanted. In our recent one, they didn’t say they could carpet the bathroom or they could do the adjacent room and add to this. They just said, “This is what you want, and these are our products.” They gave the price ranges and made recommendations for our rental because a certain type of fabric may hold up better than something else in the line. I thought that they very much took into consideration the audience they’re selling things to and didn’t try to oversell.

Well it started with $50 a room deal which is no deal, 7200$ for 1030sqft but I needed it done quick. Then the guys show up at 10am & do no prep work at all! All I was told is I would have to move a couple things, thinking they would at least put up plastic barriers or plastic over my furniture! Nope!! They cut my floor every 6 inches with a saw before taking a machine a digging them up, so now there is about a half inch thick coat of dust on everything in my house! Inside my pantry, on my food, every single room they had to do. Then while ripping up the trim the destroy my freshly painted walls & trim by digging their claws in it. My walls, that were freshly painted, 4&5 ft up are all scratched up! I paid 8k$ for my paint & about 3k$ was destroyed!

I called my salesman after they left & told him. He gave me customer service number & said someone would call me but never did. I commented on a Facebook post & they delete it so now I see why with 14k likes on their page they have no comments on their posts. It’s because they are all negative & they delete them!! Do Not use Empire!!!

I had laminate flooring installed less than a year ago. The floor is "peaking" in my living room. When the inspector came out you could tell he was "looking" for something to blame other than their installation. After using his moisture reader and it coming back normal, he tried to blame my two pound dog for peeing in the area. This was after the salesman (who is condescending and disrespectful to woman- Note when I told the inspector that he agreed and said it is his culture and it is acceptable) told me the flooring was waterproof. So the flooring I spent 7K on with a lifetime warranty is not under warranty and there is nothing they can do. PLEASE READ reviews. You can read review after review of this company not standing behind their products and their poor customer service. From beginning to end this company lies. We replaced some carpet with a laminate wood floor from Empire Today. Our experience with them was perfect up until we had a problem. After we had a problem, it was the most horrible service I’ve ever had and I would never recommend them to anybody. The installer did a less than acceptable job on the thresholds in the room. I didn’t see it when it got done because it was all taped over where they glued on the thresholds. When I called them to come back and fix it, they told me that the way they did it was the right way.

I wasn’t born yesterday, so I know a threshold is supposed to be level, but they never fixed them. Finally, they told me, because the legal got involved, they can’t fix them. So, they handed me a couple pieces of threshold and said, “You can fix them if you want.” The other problem I had with them was they sent an installer out that didn’t even speak English so I couldn’t communicate with him. That’s a huge no-no in my book. If you’re in America, you should speak English.

My aunt had used Empire and I was impressed with the job they did, but when I had them install carpet in my home, their workers were late. They explained to me where they came from and I gave them that but I explained to them that they should see their travel times so they don’t have the customers waiting. I just bought a home and the flooring had to come out. I wanted the colors of the wall and picked the carpet for its color. It’s a pretty color and makes the house look nice and fresh. I like that it’s brand new and knowing that there are no allergens that can settle into the carpet. When one of my employees purchased a home and wanted some hardwood, I said that she might wanna try Empire Today out. They have very little downtimes.

I had carpet put in the living room and in the den, and then I also had the kitchen done with the some stone flooring. When I had the floor done in the kitchen, they broke the coil of the refrigerator's water line for the ice maker. That happened when they put the refrigerator back and it was on a Friday. So, in order to have any water, the water line had to be turned on back and forth. But every time we turn it on, it was leaking. There was water all over the floor and we had to have that fixed which costed $85. I called them to see what was gonna be done about it, and that I was out of the money to have it repaired. I’ve spoken to somebody about that but nobody got back to me. They’ve been calling back and then I called them back and nobody answered the phone, then they called me and I was not home. I called and called and called, and we were always playing tag team.

Also, when I got the carpet put in, I discussed with Julio that the darker carpet would go into the den, which is where the most traffic was, and the lighter part was to be put in the living room. He told me that it was vice versa and that the way it was in is the way it was. I told him that I was sure that I ordered the darker color for the den and the lighter color for the living room. I was at work that time so when they brought the work order in, they were saying on the work order that that’s the way it was. Those were the colors that was supposed to be as they are. So, both carpets were already put in now and I’m not going through the problems of taking it up.

We had Empire Today put in tile flooring in our bathroom. We also looked at linoleum at some different locations, but the Empire was cheaper than the linoleum was gonna be. The installation went well, but when they put the commode back, they didn't fasten it exactly right. When you sat on it and got up, it hit the wall. I was aggravated that it took over two weeks to get someone to respond. Every time we called, they said that they'd get someone there on such and such day. Then we’d wait and no one would show up. Then, they'd call and say they'd call us, but they didn't. I had to keep hammering away at them until I finally got them to respond. The guy came Saturday morning and he was able to fix it. Other than that, they did excellent work.

Empire Today's process seemed more streamlined. Initially, we had gone to a couple of other stores like Home Depot and Lowe's. Those times, someone had to come out and measure our area and someone else called us with quotes. We needed the job done in a timely fashion and we didn't have time to guess then the installation could be. While we were hesitant to go with Empire 'cause of the price, when their person comes out to measure and I am able to find something I like, I am ready to set an installation date right away. That seemed a lot more efficient so we went with them for the job we needed done in May and again in September.

Empire matched the price that we were gonna get with other companies. Both times we had them do work, the timing was to our liking. We had to get a lot of stuff done both during the first time we had them in our home and the second time at our rental property. The second time we used them though, I didn't feel like the options were as many as far as the colors available are concerned. Still, it worked out.

Service people came on the day requested. There was an error on the Empire dispatcher as they never called me with a time for the installation. Finally spoke to the installer and got the appointment corrected. Three installers worked very hard for over 8 hours to get the padding and carpet installed. It looked great and felt great under foot. After two days we noted one seam area that was pulling apart. Empire had a different team come late one evening to fix the separation and correct the problem. So far all's well.

The situation: I was cleaning my kitchen counters with 'method. ALL-PURPOSE' plant based, non-toxic cleaner. I knocked the bottle off of the counter, and it subsequently fell and the top plastic portion broke - dispersing anywhere between 1/2-1 full cup of cleaning solution onto the floor. Using the rag in my hand, I dried up the liquid - in what could not have been more than 1 minute, all liquid was removed from flooring. The result: The (what I now understand as cheap and not well crafted) flooring is now buckling and peeling surrounding the joints of the planks. Empire's response: "We can't do anything because you can't prove the liquid was on the floor for fewer than 30 minutes."

I want to clarify that I have never written a negative review in the past - for anything. I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt. I am furious with this company, and feel as though I've been taken advantage of. I've only had the flooring for 6 months. I paid over $5,000 for our small home's installation because it was supposed to be an investment. I wish that I would have known that this product was not really covered under the warranty. The warranty states that the limitations of the "Water Resistant" warranty does NOT apply to damage caused by events BEYOND everyday household spills, so that should mean everyday household spills should be covered. In my estimate, the spilling of a plant-based, non-toxic cleaning product and following swift clean-up is the very definition of a household spill.

We chose a carpet and ordered. Chose a install date. Empire confirmed via email and automated message. Took a day off from work. Got a call morning of install that the padding was out of stock and Empire had to reschedule the install. I had one question for a company who only installs flooring (their core business is carpet)... How do you not have padding in stock for an order placed two weeks ago when you only offer one padding choice for Berber carpeting, REALLY? As we ALL know that's NOT possible.

I could go on and on because it all went downhill from there on the phone with a so-called "Manager" which if that is a sampling of Empire's managers they are on the other side of the success-mountain. The end result I cancelled my order, not worth the aggravation and totally on principal and my experience with the manager, they could honestly care less that I cancelled the order. A company with this attitude and practices will never stand behind their products, so I am OUT. Took the time to share this info. so others do not get sucked in with their offers, especially their TV offers. MOVE ON and choose a local business instead which is what I did. Or go with Lowe's or Home Depot, at least they still stand behind the product and installers.

I’ve had Empire carpet come out thrice in 10 years. I’ve had carpeting and laminate, called LVP, put in. The pricing was very good. I had them put flooring in the kitchen, dining, laundry room, and then I called back and had them come do the living room. My husband is out of town a lot, and I asked for a female salesman, and they sent her out. I told her that when we schedule the first room to be done, that I needed to make sure that there was somebody there because I don’t like strangers coming into my house with me being alone. They sent out this wonderful crew. And my son was there. I loved the flooring from Empire Today so much that I wanted all the rooms to match.

I called the salesman back but she was out of town. They then sent me another saleslady. She came out. We measured, scheduled, and we had to reschedule twice. I got everything scheduled for the Friday ‘cause that was my one day off. I had everything set, Jaime was gonna be home, and they called me Thursday afternoon to reschedule. That week, we had Imelda, the storm, and that one was nobody’s fault. But I kinda yelled at George on the phone saying if they could not get the installers out here the third time, the deal was gonna be off. I remember telling them distinctly who the installers I wanted, and they said that was not a problem and that they knew I was comfortable working with the first installer.

The phone calls started to get a little less and less. They used to call me all the time letting me know my schedule was coming. There was lack of communication and they sent out somebody totally different. They did not call me and tell me that they were not sending out the first installer that I had. But it all went well because my husband showed up about an hour and a half after they showed up. I spent $3,600 and it was over. The second guys did a great job. They were in and out in about five hours. The room was less than 300 square feet, so it was pretty easy to do and they did a really good job. I’d still have Empire Today come out. But there’d be specific rules because I’m alone a lot, and I don’t like strange people that I don’t know in my house. Things are just bad nowadays and I don’t trust anybody.

Apparently, they went to the first place in error, but it worked out. They still came that day and got it done, so that wasn't a huge thing.

We also had a problem with financing. We were moving at the time and when they ran our credit, they couldn't validate who we were because of our old address. That ended up being a negative credit on our crediting because at the end, we didn't get financing and we ended up paying cash. Other than that, my carpet is beautiful. It was the best one they had and I would tell others to get the best that your money can buy because it was worth it.

We were on a budget and heard that Empire Today was very good-priced. We live in Flemington and we have to always use the Flemington Department Store. They seem to be on the higher side and we didn't want to have to overspend if we didn't have to, and same with Home Depot, so we just called Empire. The sales representative that came out was awesome. We did the engineered hardwood floors in our dining room, and then we did carpeting. We picked two different colors. One downstairs in our living room, and then, we did upstairs with two bedrooms in the hallway. I am very pleased with the padding and the quality of the carpet. I also love the hardwood floors in the dining room. I thought it's gonna look choppy, but it actually looks very nice.

The guys that installed the flooring was unbelievable. They did it so fast. I was asking for the guy's advice, like which way to lay the hardwood floor, and he said that he knew what he was doing. He was perfect. They came around 10:30 in the morning. There was a woman who called and asked how was everything going, which I was very impressed with, 'cause the installers came on Friday, and they could come back and finish it on Saturday. We weren’t doing anything as we cleared our calendars Friday night so they were up, staying and doing the work. They didn't even take a break. My husband literally had to go out and get them something to eat ‘cause they didn't even eat. I’ve never seen anything like it.

They finished at 10:30 at night. We felt bad ‘cause for them to come back, the warehouse was kinda far. We asked them if they were sure and they said that they were fine with it. And around 9 o’clock, they did the floor the last down here in the dining room, so all the carpeting was done. Then it looked like a warzone during the day when they were working ‘cause they were throwing the carpet out the window, and the carpet’s on the lawn. With its removal, ‘cause that’s quite a chore and a mess, they cleaned it up. Everything was put in bags and just so neat when they left. They did an awesome job. Everybody saw the finished product now and I’ve been telling them about Empire.

Empire had the best prices. Initially, I had a guy from a different company come out and his price was a bit more. Also, he said that the job I wanted done would've taken about five days. With Empire, it would be two days altogether so, I had them install hardwood floors and carpet. Their installers were professional and so far, I love the flooring I got. I like its color. I had an excellent experience overall with Empire.

Updated on 11/16/2019: A reply was sent that wrongly states my issues are resolved. That is not the truth. Empire refuses to acknowledges all concerns, including personal property damage. I wish I could say resolution was achieved... not so.

Updated on 10/26/2019: My issues remain unresolved regarding reimbursements for products & labor paid for but never received. Additionally, reimbursements for extra time off work and property damage go unacknowledged by Empire. Despite proper documentation in the agreement, both installation teams, (carpet & LVP flooring), arrived at the site inadequately prepared to efficiently do their jobs. Products that were documented and paid for, failed proper delivery. The carpet installers were great at improvising. However, the LVP installers had to make multiple return visits to install many trim pieces and make corrections to the layout of the planks.

They suffered problems understanding and applying the concept of a random layout. Consequently, identical LVP planks were installed adjacent to each other. Despite several return visits, the faulty layout persists. Unable to say why both installation teams arrived inadequately prepared to do their jobs. I suspect bad communication. Whatever the cause, THEIR faulty business practices caused me to burn extra work days to accommodate THEIR inefficiencies. I don't believe upstanding businesses encumber their customers because of their short comings... but that is what we have.

I question why they don't consider the loss of my time as having value, along with the loss of the property damage suffered when their work van backed over my garden planter. Not a word. My issues remain UNRESOLVED. "No further accommodations will be provided," according to Empire's senior customer service manager. No advancement towards an equitable resolution with Empire Today.

Original Review: Had Empire install new LVP and carpeting throughout entire house. Demanded full payment upfront for everything, labor and products, before starting any work. We complied. They failed to bring out the trim pieces for the carpeting and LVP. Failed to bring out underlayment Quiet Walk for LVP. Paid for floor leveling agent and labor that wasn't needed. Installers did a faulty installation of the LVP resulting in identical panels being installed adjacent to each other. Had to return several times to take up product and reinstall. Backed their work van into a garden pot on my deck. Offered to reimburse but only if I signed a general release form. Still waiting!!!

At the time I went with Empire Today, they were having a deal wherein they were giving 50% off the price or 50% off in other rooms. I had them install carpet in the home I was going to sell. The turnaround time was quick because it was based on my schedule. However, though I knew the date that their installers were gonna do the job, I didn't know the time. They didn't give the time until the morning or the afternoon of the installation. That was kinda disappointing for me.

On the morning of my installation, I received a time block when their installers would come between this time and that time. So, I had to be waiting. I had to stay home until they called me 'cause they said they wouldn't do the job unless somebody over 18 was at the place. I also misunderstood what I actually purchased. I thought it was a product that doesn't mark very easily. If I were living there, I would’ve been a little bit bummed about it because I wanted the one that doesn’t mark too much. But it looks nice because it’s a nice actual carpet.

We had set the installation day. They arrived early which was fine. The minute they walked in they immediately asked to pay upfront (unheard of!). We had paid an advance to salesman and he told us that when the job is done, we will receive a bill and we can decide then whether to pay it all or monthly. Well... we paid it all to customer service person over the phone because installers did not want to install the carpet. Five minutes later they told us that they don’t have enough of carpet! That is after we made a full payment! I couldn’t believe it!

So, we called to Empire Customer service again and they said that they can put in request for this issue and someone will get back to us in 24 hours! Unbelievable! I have to live in this mess for 24 hours. Not to mention that the next day was not a working day for them, so 24 hours will lead into 48 and so on... Meanwhile the installers said they will go outside to their van to talk to a supervisor, so they can sort things out with the carpet shortage. 5 minutes later or less when I looked outside, they were gone!!! I have not heard from them since that time! So, weekend we were in mess and no one has contacted us. The supervisor called on Monday night (three days later) to ask if they install the carpet. Ha-ha! What do you think? The most horrible experience in my life! Poor business management. Terrible business! Do not do business with them unless you want to deal with this crap.

Updated on 01/04/2020: I submitted my initial review and now cannot enter any further comments as Empire has not replied. The comment exchanged is locked. Empire finally decided that my entire first installation has to be removed. They will also be removing the original vinyl that they were supposed to remove during the first install. At first the install coordinator said it would be best to wait until after the the holidays because they would be extremely busy and he wanted his "A team" to come out. He also said they would be very busy because the specials they were running.

I was ok with that until I was called by several representatives to schedule the job ASAP. I agreed and was given a date. SURPRISE, they did not show or call. I got a call from the installation coordinator. He left a message on my phone, with no explanation, and told me to call him. I felt this to be very inappropriate. Admittedly, I have not returned that call because, up until now, I have been VERY calm and understanding. Quite frankly, I needed time cool down.

The other issues: scratched wooden floors, exposed tack strip from carpet installation, broken back door, broken molding, etc, have not been addressed (see first post). I know that I overpaid for their services. I thought the "convenience" of the process may be worth it, but here we are months later with no resolution, poor workmanship, many hours of lost work time waiting on workers.... I am so hesitant to have them back in my house, or even to schedule with them AGAIN only to be left waiting and missing work time.

Original Review: Luxury vinyl tile installation.

    1. Paid for removal of sheet vinyl from dining room, kitchen, back foyer, laundry and bathroom. The installer removed a small section from the dining room then stopped. He laid the rest over the vinyl. We were offered about 360 dollars when I called (during install) to complain.
    2. Installed an improper transition strip. When asked to fix it, he pieced together a strip. Later that night the small patched piece came loose.
    3. Was going to tile around a pedestal sink. The pedestal simply slides out with no plumbing. I had to remove (slide it out).
    4. Stripped screws on my back door threshold. Door would not close. (Turned out they installed the 1/4 round improperly preventing the door from closing.)
    5. Swept a LARGE pile of glued wood scraps into my floor vent and put vent cover back on.
    6. Left large gaps (could see bare drywall) when replacing molding.
    7. Knocked on my neighbor's door to borrow a roller and extension for the glue. Returned (actually not, because my neighbor had to come take it back) covered in glue.
    8. Broke laundry door track.
    9. Scratched hardwood floor while moving furniture.
    10. Reinstalled cracked floor molding.
    11. Installed chipped tile.
    12. One tile was installed much higher, so it was covered with a curtain.

    13. Left gap in two places where sub floor can be seen.

An "inspector" was sent out. He turned out to be another installer. Set up for 4 PM, but showed at 7:30PM.

    1. Replaced 1 tile where floor was showing.

    2. Examined the back door that would not close. Further rounded out threshold adjustment screws. Slammed the door shut and forcibly jammed his 5 in 1 tool into the door jam and bent the bolt! When I finally was able to disassemble the handle and open the door. I was the one who discovered the 1/4 round was improperly installed. After I fixed it the door closed perfectly. Unfortunately without a handle or lock. Oddly he had deadbolt set with him. However, he made me install it!

    3. Fixed the molding that was revealing drywall.

    4. Put 2 brads in the loose scrap of transition strip.

Had to leave because it was late and he lived 2 hours away. LVT tiles are starting to separate already. We also had 3 bedrooms and a hall carpeted. My wife poked a whole in her foot on a tack strip. Don't know what can be done, but this carpet definitely does not feel as thick or plush as the samples we stepped on. We did confirm the product before install.

First I’ll say the only reason I’m giving a star is bc the installers that came out were great. I’ll even say the process as a whole was pretty easy. But my satisfaction stops there for two reasons. Our salesman came to the house, asked us what we were wanting to spend, then showed us 5 boards with 4 carpet sample each. When we asked what other colors do they have in a certain pile, we were told “just the colors that are on the board”. Huh?!!! When we asked about the carpet pad, “we only have two styles, the basic or an 8 lb with a moisture backing. But it doesn’t feel any different than the basic in terms of cushion.” What!??! You are supposed to be the EMPIRE of flooring! Yet you only have 20 carpet samples and only carry 2 carpet pads?! This, when the big box stores give 100’s of styles, colors and multiple sizes of carpet pads. Unreal!

I told the Salesman multiple times we were wanting to replace the carpet we had with something comparable. The carpet we had was a very nice middle of the road carpet. We were looking for a lighter color of carpet in more of a grey. Problem is he only had two samples that were around what we were wanting. However he assured us this was comparable to what we had. WRONG! After the install my wife and I’s feet were getting pierced on the tack strip bc the carpet is sooo thin! And now feels like we are walking on hardwood floors with the lack of cushion and quality! Nowhere near comparable to what we originally had.

You sell a product fixed to a board that only allows customers to feel the texture of the carpet and not the actual thickness and durability of the product. Charge them big money, then say, "Welp sorry, now that’s it’s installed it’s done?" I’m not trying to get anything free here. But, if I spend my hard earned money, the price I pay Should reflect the quality of a product. We spent $2000 on a carpet that realistically would be $600. First and last time customer.

Caveat Emptor. Fair Warning about "Empire Today" Flooring Company's honoring their Warranty - They DON'T. If your laminate floor is still under warranty, (installed less than a year ago) and there are a few boards that are "Peaking" (that's a technical term - see diagram below) due to too much pressure against the wall due to not enough of a gap for expansion when it was installed) and you ask for it to be fixed under said warranty. Do Not hold your breath. They will insist it is "moisture damage" that they will be happy to replace the entire floor on your dime.

RUN... do not walk... to Another More Reputable floor company who will actually honor their warranty. He continues Talking in circles exaggerating his foreign accent to try to throw me off in the conversation. All I want is for him to recommend that the floor be fixed under the warranty. (And he and his coworker are back-and-forth to each other in a Slavic language so you don't know what they're saying)

I wish I had bet someone, Anyone, that he would notice the new refrigerator and blame the floor damage on the old refrigerator - I would have won that bet in 5 minutes of him walking in the door.??? His only job today was to put his "moisture meter" on the floor to register whatever it registers to prove that "there must have been water damage", and sell me a new floor. He put said "moisture meter" against his arm first to make sure it was working... WHAT!?!?

This is the same guy who installed said floor. God forbid he admit that he (or his workers) made a mistake and didn't leave enough of a gap for expansion) and that that's what caused the problem in the first place. Demeaning my intelligence with his nonsense talk - Argumentative and a real comedian. Looks like the joke's on me.???

Laminate Floor Peaking Causes: Laminate floor peaking is commonly caused by the failure to allow for sufficient expansion space. If sufficient space has not been left the floor becomes locked in or pinched. As the floor expands it has no place to go other than up. Moldings at doorways or quarter round or base at walls, nailed through the laminate. Fix by removing and replacing the molding or quarter round. Place nails directly into the wall or cabinets, not the flooring. If necessary, cut back the laminate to give more expansion space. A wider molding may be required. T-molding not used between rooms or areas. Correct by cutting the laminate flooring between the rooms or areas and adding the proper T-molding.

I have been researching replacing the carpet in two of my rooms and hallways for over a year. After a lot of deliberation I decided to call Empire to get a quote. I was pleased with the salesman, Alex, as he was very informative and didn’t seem to give the usual “sales pitch”. We decided to go with LVP given we are on a concrete slab, have a lot of activity in the time, and we have three dogs. I was excited to hear LVP I’d scratch resistant and would hold up for years to come.

Day of installation is when everything turned south. The installation team showed up without a phone call to let me know what time they were coming. They couldn’t speak or understand English. It was extremely hard to communicate with the team. I would ask a question or make a statement and all I received was head nods and an occasional yes or ok. I paid for the team to move my furniture out of the rooms. They only moved it from one side to the other however. And then never even moved it back to its original position before they left! What a waste of money. I saw the invoice in their stack of papers and it was $994 for moving furniture that they didn’t even move!

The young gentleman quickly tried to get me to inspect their work upon leaving but couldn’t even explain what they did or what I should be looking for. I noticed loose transition pieces between rooms and was told through translation in text to “give the glue time to dry”. The transitions weren’t even locked into place for the glue to make contact with both surfaces. Shortly after the team left, reminder they never even moved my furniture back into position, I noticed some scratches on the floor in one of the rooms. I was told this LVP was scratch resistant, however it obviously is not. I also noticed in my hallway a small piece of LVP scratched the bottom of my foot. Upon inspection I realized it was cut incorrectly and the installers used brown putty to try and fill in their cut mistake.

I immediately called Empire hotline the next morning and filed a complaint. I was told someone would call me Monday morning since that department is off on Saturdays. I didn’t receive a call that Monday at all, so I called again on Tuesday to see if my complaint would be handled. I was transferred to another person and scheduled an appt for inspection that Thursday. I was also guaranteed I would get a call between 7-9am with an estimated arrival time of the inspector. I never got that call Thursday morning, so I called the help center again to get a timeframe.

I was informed someone would be at my home between 2-4pm. Well, no one ever showed up or called to let me know they wouldn’t be there. So I called the help center two more times, asking for a manager the second time. Of course it is now after hours and no one can be of assistance locally and I would have to wait for the local office to call me Friday morning. I wasted a whole day waiting for someone to show up and they never did. I am here again waiting for a call to schedule someone to come inspect the floor.

This project is far from cheap, but between the poor installation experience and poor customer service I feel I am being robbed. And it seems no one from the company wants to right this wrong. Not only will I not be a repeat customer, it I will definitely tell my friends, family, and coworkers what a lousy experience I have had and the lack of concern from the company.

I've had carpet and vinyl plank flooring installed by Empire Today. The carpet was downstairs, and the vinyl plank was in the master bedroom suite. The carpet was the perfect match for what I needed. And the vinyl plank looks like real wood flooring. I've used Empire Today before and I've only used one sales rep and I've asked for him every time that I needed some new flooring. Empire Today is amazingly good, and they're quick, and they clean up after themselves. They have met my expectation. They are very careful when they install any kind of flooring because they have to move furniture.

I like Empire Today's installation timeframe. I had them install laminate flooring and carpet in my home, and I'm satisfied with their work. However, there could be better communication between the sales people and the install people. The salespeople would tell me one thing and the installers would have a different take. The salespeople saw how much stuff we had and they said it would not be an issue moving stuff around. But then, the first installation crew refused to do anything because there is too much furniture.

The first person to come give us an estimate was rude, unprofessional, and condescending. It is going to be a big job and I knew it would not be cheap. She wasn’t more than 3 steps in my house before she put her hand on her hip and announced it would be a 20000$ job and was I prepared for that. I actually was, but I was not prepared for someone to come into my house and be rude to my family and I.

Customer service followed up asking how my experience was. I was honest and told her to whole story. She asked us to give them a second chance. So we did. The next day the rep was supposed to come out, We were called and told he was out sick so we had to reschedule. Reschedule we did, and we even called the night before to confirm. Well today our day was wasted sitting around waiting for a rep who never graced us with his presence! What a joke. They must be doing so well that they have no interest in new jobs. I will never use this company and will share my experience to anyone interested in new flooring. I wish I could give zero stars.

I purchased LVP flooring for my kitchen. Contractor arrived at scheduled time but was unable to complete the job because they did not have enough of the product. Unfortunately, I had to pay the contractor before they would do the install. After the incomplete install I made several calls to the Empire Today call center to find out when the job would be completed. I had moved furniture out of the kitchen and into the dining room for the install and need to be able to move it back into the kitchen. I have now made four calls to the call center. The last one, the call center put me through to a local office. I was told that the product was being delivered to them in two days and that they would be able to install it then. When I angrily expressed how disappointed I was with the process the associate I was speaking with named Craig at the Cincinnati office told me to "have a nice day" and hung up. I still do not know if they are coming in two days or not.

My experience with Empire Today is that they are great when they are trying to get the sale but after point of sale they do not care about you. I really liked the sales rep who sold me the product but since then, customer service is not in their standard operating procedure manual apparently. Also, when the installer approached me with the problem he said that the measurements before sale had been wrong so they were short on the flooring product. The first "manager" I spoke with about the problem put me on hold while he contacted the installer. When he came back on the line he said that one of the boxes of flooring had been short on product. So, I have been given 2 different reasons for the problem.

Anyway, the end result so far has been an absolute failure to provide adequate customer service. Being hung up on while trying to resolve the issue is not acceptable. Buyer beware of any contractor demanding full payment before the work is done. I wish that I had picked a different company than Empire Today but it is too late now. Never again.

These are the facts in my experience dealing with Empire Today. We are returning customers. This is our second large purchase with them. We purchased Vinyl Floors and Carpet in bedrooms, we had two problems with each. Vinyl Floors they left a gap all around the peninsula and counters, after almost 3+ months of calling and pleading with them they finally sent someone out to install the 1/4" round trim, which matched my cupboards.

During this time they were fully aware I was also waiting for one of the bedroom carpet to be repaired or replaced because when they installed it there were lumps in different places total of 4 and there was a weird stain that came with the carpet that none of the over the counter products could remove. They assigned a Manager Brett **, we spoke on phone once. He promised both issues would be resolved.

I have called him 2-3 times a week left messages, I've even spoken to different departments, explained what I need and still no one has called, emailed, wrote letter anything. This is getting tiresome and once they receive all your money you become non-existent if there is a problem. They need better procedures and someone that everyone is accountable to because I get the feeling this is why it keeps falling thru the cracks over and over. I am beyond disgusted and will not be purchasing from them again. I judge companies on how they handle problems with me and others and they are horrible at making sure customers are satisfied.

We like choosing the products in our home and actually seeing it with our other things. And we thought that it worked out okay. The installation was fine. There was a chip in our laminate and they don't make the laminate anymore. So the helpline talked to us and we found some putty kind of stuff to put in it and it looks fine again.

They assured it was what was ordered then they had to tear out the hallway because it was not smooth - there were many raised edges. Now there are many more raised edges and areas of delaminating - where the very thin laminate has separated. Call from Customer Service was terrible - they wanted $75 to come out and inspect or I could send pictures. Very rude - already blaming us for the problems saying it was our cleaning products. When I asked about their "lifetime warranty" they said that was from the manufacturer and they was file the claim for us. Would NOT recommend them.

We had carpet installed in our family room and master bedroom. I was replacing frieze and I really liked the carpet from Empire Today. I had the frieze for almost 20 years, so I really wanted a good carpet that I knew would last again. I had gone into a store, but it was kind of overwhelming. There was so much to choose from. I had replaced the carpet in the master bedroom once before already, and I was not happy with the choice. So, I wasn’t trusting and I didn’t wanna make the same mistake again.

I really liked the guy who came out. It was good that he came here because he could see what we already had, and that we wanted something good and something that would last. So, he understood that completely and that was a very positive thing for me. But he was late. When I made the appointment, they gave me a two-hour window to which he would be here. And 15 minutes before the end of that two-hour window, I got a telephone call from somebody that told me that he would be here within 30 minutes. So, 30 minutes went by, and he still was not here yet, and I had chosen the window 4:00 to 6:00. It was right around the dinner hour. So then, when he wasn’t here by 6:30, I decided that I was going to make dinner.

He was 45 minutes past the ending of my window time. And when he came to the door, I told him that he was late and that I just put dinner on the table and he was gonna have to come back in 30 minutes. And he honored that. When he came back, it was later than expected. I felt like he was really hyper and rushing. He was talking very fast. So, I felt like it was a little bit rushed.

The installation guys were absolutely amazing. They worked so hard and they were in and out here in two hours. They understood what we wanted and how we wanted it handled. We did pack everything up, but they did move the heaviest furniture and moved it right back in. They were very professional and they knew what they were doing. It went very smoothly. We love the carpet. The color is very similar to what we already had. I like the feel and look of it. It’s so professional-looking. It’s perfect. Once it was done, I probably should’ve done this five years ago. I was very, very pleased.

My name is Ms. **, I was scheduled for installation Service on September 25, 2019. When the installers arrived, they came with the wrong color Laminated floors. The Technicians were very professional, knowledgeable and polite. One of them did cut my carpet in my Dining room to see what type of floor was under the carpet. The Technicians contacted his supervisor to inform them that the color they brought to my home wasn't the correct one. The Technicians waited until someone called me to inform me that nothing could be done, that my Sales Rep would have to come back out with to show me the colors again. Before the floor Technicians left my home, I was informed that my order didn't show my stairs to my Family room and Dining room as part of the installment.

There were two parts to my agreement with Empire Today. I had hardwood installed in the hallway, that went beautifully, and then they were supposed to come and put carpeting in two bedrooms. The first thing that went wrong was that when I signed the contract, they asked me if I wanted to finance it through them with 0%, and I said, “Sure.” And the next day, before they started work, I got an email from Wells Fargo saying that they are opening a credit card for me through Empire. I called the salesperson and I told him he never told me it was a credit card. I didn’t want it. I told him to cancel that and I would pay cash for this job. But he never did it.

Then, they came to do the carpeting on a Monday morning with the wrong carpet, a lesser grade. The guy walked in and he hands me like a 1”x 3” little slip of a carpet and he said to confirm if that was my carpet. I said it looked like the right color and I asked if it matched the contract and he said it did. But the salesman had left his sample on my front porch. Before the installers brought in the carpet, I looked at that and I told the installer the sample he showed me was not the same quality carpet. He knew that and he was gonna install it anyway. I told him to leave. You can’t install what I didn’t buy. I called, texted, and emailed the sales rep but I never got a response so I called customer service and canceled the rest.

When I called the customer service to tell them to cancel it, they just don’t handle it. They let you tell the whole story and then they tell you that they’ve got to assign a case number to it and then you have to wait. They told me within two days somebody will call me back and when somebody did call me back, they said to me, “Well, did you actually go out to the truck to see what he had on the truck?” Why would I do that? They have an installer that knows what’s on his truck. He sees the contract and he hands me a sample, and they’re trying to say, ‘Oh, well, maybe he really had the right thing and he showed me the wrong sample.’ That is very screwed up.

So, I ended up having wood floor put in in those two rooms and I did it with another company. I would never recommend Empire. They did work for me in another house and when the salesman was here, initially, I told him that I have one board on that floor that’s a bad cut that needs to be taken out and redone because there’s like a triangular piece that broke off. He said he could get that taken care of but I didn’t hear a word about that. I’m not even gonna pursue it.

When I finally got a credit card and a bill from Wells Fargo, I called them up and paid it off, the whole thing at once, instead of the payments. Then, I canceled the card and the rep said he would notify the credit bureau. I love the floor part and I’m sure that if the product had been delivered correctly, it may have been fine. And I think the installers are very good. My installer for the wood floor was terrific and he did a great job installing. I’m very satisfied with the wood floors so far. This was all communication on a corporate and sales level.

However, it has been about a week and we have not heard from anybody. So much for really caring about customer service and satisfaction. The only thing I can think of why it is taking so long is that there must be a lot more complaints ahead of mine to be handled first. That is a very scary thought.

Original: Was lied to right to my face about the warranty on my carpet. Carpet was installed poorly and started pulling away from the floor. Also, there is a path from door of bedroom to the bathroom. I called Empire to find out the problems weren't covered even though we bought carpet with a 30 year warranty. Problem has to be from the floor up, whatever that means. So, besides costing a lot more money there are no benefits for buying this carpet. They were happy to send out someone at a $290.00 charge to correct their mistake though. We bought this carpet being told we would never have to worry about it because everything was covered. How can a person look you in the eye and lie to you like the salesman did. Guess that is the training provided from this dishonest company.

We were very excited to schedule our carpet installation with the Empire Today salesman who seemed knowledgeable and experienced. We scheduled the installation 2 weeks out on a Saturday because my husband works from home and would have to dismantle his home office in order to get the carpet installed. We tried to get an estimate of what time they would be here on Saturday the Friday before but were told we would have to wait until the next morning. Saturday morning we were told we were the 2nd of 2 houses scheduled for the day and that the installers would be there anytime between 8:00am and 6:00pm.

We called after noon and customer service couldn't find us on their schedule at all. After about 15 minutes she found us and could only tell us that they would be there between "now and 6:00pm". At 4:30 we received a call from the installers saying they were picking up our carpet and were on the way. Two men showed up at our house with the carpet, came into the house and informed us that it was a 4 man job so they would not be able to do it because there were no other installers available. They took pictures of our house and left which really creeped me out! My husband called customer service who finally got us a manager on the phone who was unwilling to refund our deposit (by this time we had boxed up our entire downstairs and had been waiting all day for nothing and asked for a refund).

The only day they could do the installation was on a weekday so my husband had to cancel business meetings in order to be there as he did not want me in the house alone with strangers. The installers were a man and his wife who completed the job by themselves in about 6 hours. They did a great job but the fact that we were told it would take 4 men and then a man and a WOMAN did it by themselves just made us all the more angry. We repeatedly tried to call the salesman during this entire process and he completely ghosted us, did not return a single call.

We are getting ready to re-carpet our entire upstairs and will NOT be using Empire again nor will I refer any of my friends and neighbors. The icing on the cake was they sent us a review to fill out, which we did. They called and left a message for us to call them back and tell them about our experience. We called and no one was available to take our call and they never called back.

I didn’t get them glued like I have in my common area, the living space. Even so, I had a nice experience during installation. The crew took two days because our floor wasn't level. So, they had to do concrete treatment and cement treatment to level the floor and dry it out. That was no problem though. They were able to do two rooms on one day, and the other two on the next, and there was no hindrance in our sleeping arrangements. They were able to go in the rooms and move all the furniture out and move it back in. It was like the installation never happened. Now, no part of our house is carpeted and we are enjoying our floors. I'm so pleased.

We looked at a couple other companies and Empire Today was the best price. The sales rep was great, answered all our questions and showed us the samples that we wanted to see. He got us in early for installation, so that was even better. So, I had no problem with him at all. The installation team was good and they did it all in one day, but I am not sure that was the smartest thing to do. They were there from 8:00 in the morning until 8:30 at night.

We had laminate floors installed throughout the house, except for the bedrooms. We have a great room, dining, living room, hallways and stairs. We already have oak cabinets and trim and everything, so we went with oak floors to match what was already there. The floor looks good but there are some problems with the quarter round and a couple of stairs have some issues, which I didn't see because I wasn't home. My husband didn't pay attention so, the quarter round was the wrong color. It’s harvest oak floors and the quarter round was very dark so, it doesn't match at all. I have been trying for two months to get someone out there to fix it. Also, there are three stairs where there are gaps that need to be addressed. I've had two appointments for the customer service to come out and take care of all the problems and we were blown off both times. There were no phone calls and they didn't show up.

I tried for a week leaving messages with customer service at the Chicago office. No one would return my calls and finally, on the last call I made, I talked to a supervisor and she contacted corporate. The next day, the Chicago customer service called me and now, we have another appointment on the 19th for them to come out. I've asked them to give me the first appointment of the day because the last two were the second appointments and then, they didn't have time. The customer service out of the Chicago office was not good at all. I wouldn't recommend Empire because of that because there's no follow through and Mandy, the customer service person, never answers her extension phone and doesn't return calls. For the second, the call came 5 minutes after. For the third, we were supposed to be a “top priority” appointment and get a top salesperson, but instead, we got a call 97 minutes into the appointment time stating there were “scheduling conflicts.” When we spoke with a representative the response was “Sorry, but it sounds like this isn’t going to work out.” Absolutely unacceptable.

I hired Empire to install carpet in my family room, my master bedroom and down my stairs. Well it's nothing like the television shows. They show up not speaking any English language thank goodness my husband is Hispanic and could translate for me. They didn't have any shoe covers for their shoes and they were going so fast with the installation process that they didn't put the right padding on the floor before putting the carpet down in my bedroom.

I called Empire and a woman called me back saying that they were going to send someone out to look at it today between 11am and 1PM. Well guess what. No one showed up or even called. My husband and I were looking at the carpet that was put down and personally not only did it not look like the original version of the carpet we picked out it looks very cheap. After spending our hard earned money no this wasn't a finance purchase but a cash purchase that we are very disappointed with and could have just took our business to another company. No I don't recommend this company to anyone.

They got the installation done quickly. But then, when the sale was made, they told me that they would leave me some wood if ever I needed to replace anything. I wasn't left any wood so I called to ask why. The reps then said that I have to buy another box. Even so, the laminate they put in looks very nice. So far, I've had no complaints from the renters. I had a very good experience with Empire.

    Updated review: Oct. 26, 2019

Empire quickly responded to my complaint. Much quicker than my requests for help and information during the actual transaction unfortunately. I will not be able to use them in the future as a sub-contractor based mainly on their policy of expecting full payment upfront BEFORE starting a project. As a contractor myself, I don't ask my clients to pay in full before renovating their house! 1 star up to 3. Empire needs to change policy and train their sales staff better.

    Original Review: Oct. 2, 2019

I sub-contracted Empire to install carpet and hard flooring at a commercial office location. It started well due mainly to the excellent attention of my first sales rep, Yashar **. Unfortunately Yashar left the company for unknown reasons. I then spent well over a week trying in vain to get Empire to contact me back much less assign a new sales rep. The ONLY reason I held on at that point was because I was under a strict deadline set by my client to get the job completed. Yashar had already given me the quotes and timeframes for scheduling. All I needed was someone from Empire to follow up! I was given a sales rep who was and remained hard to get in touch with. He also did not know the products he was selling very well which I found out on installation day.

There were many very aggravating issues I dealt with in my dealings with this company but the most surprising and completely unprofessional moment came again on installation day. I was told by the ONE installer (1 installer for 17 offices) that I had to pay in full that morning BEFORE job could start!! I am a contractor myself, I never have asked for full payment upfront before a job even begins! This was after paying a 3000 down payment just so they would schedule the job at which point I was NOT informed that the balance would be due the first day on job! I am shocked they do business this way. Paying almost 12k that day out of my own pockets in order to get that job moving and completed caused a domino effect on my Business bank account which I am still paying for.

If I could give Empire 0/10 stars I would. This company is ridiculous and there is ZERO accountability for their management. I had Empire come out and install carpeting in most of my house. It cost me thousands of dollars and I was already on the fence about giving them a shot after reading all of their horrible reviews. They send two guys out to complete the job and they end up putting the wrong carpets in the wrong rooms, despite the fact that they had an invoice sheet telling them what carpeting goes where.

To make matters worse, they ripped up the old carpeting in the master bedroom and didn’t even lay the new carpet down. After I advised the worker the of the wrong carpeting, said they would be back three days later to correct the issue and that when they came back they would clean the house. Not only did they leave my house a mess by NOT cleaning any of the carpet fibers, but there were scuff marks on my walls and they tried to get me to sign a paper stating I was satisfied with their installation.

I immediately called Empire and was advised that managers do no work on Friday evenings and won’t come back until Monday morning. In the meantime I was forced to sleep on my floor, with my house a mess and unable to move into my own home due to the fact that would have to come back to my house and rip up the wrong carpets. I tried several times to speak to a district manager about this issue to get some of my money back and was told to wait until Monday.

I was finally able to speak to a market Manager by the name of Melissa who promised me the issue would be fixed and she would issue me a partial refund. I have left her several messages and have been unable to get ahold of her for the past two weeks. I called the 800 number and requested to speak to a district manager again and would told the issue would be forwarded back to a market manager. There is no accountability for their management and I am more than displeased with their service to say the least. I would rather hire high school trade school students than to use Empire ever again. What a joke of a company..

They will be glad to schedule you and take your money, But they will not stand behind their warranty and if you have issues they do not want to return your calls. You have to repeatedly call and call them. They are the rudest people you have to deal with. We saved and saved to have floor put in our home. We had issues right off the bat. They finally came after many missed appts and tried to fix the problem but still did not work and my flooring is coming up all over my house and they give me one excuse after another and they do not want to fix it.

Now I am out thousands of dollars on flooring that is horrible and no one will help you. We went with this company thinking we would get better quality flooring from a reputable company. Boy was we wrong. We installed flooring on our own in a spare room. Flooring was from Home Depot. That room still looks wonderful. It has been 5 yrs since it was put down better quality of floor, My flooring from Empire is a year old and looks Horrible. Like I said I would never recommend this company. Empire Today should live up to their advertisement on the TV. I didn't get to see the samples from whatever the special was then, too. But, purchasing from them was okay. We had carpet installed, and we had vinyl flooring as well. We used them because of their advertisement. They always looked appetizing, and so I thought I'd try it. I thought the cost was okay. I thought they could've done a better job on the way that they installed the vinyl around the toilet. It doesn't look like one. It's like it's spliced. Also, in one of the corners, it's gonna always look like it's dirty and that's because of the clear caulking. They didn't clean it out well before they put the caulking down, so the caulking is covering up what dirt was there.

There were multiple areas where the flooring looked like it was going downhill compared to the baseboard. They cracked baseboard and other wall areas. When we complained they send the exact same installers to critic their own work. They then sent the same installers back to pull up the floor and put it back using glue. There are still very un-level areas. Their fix to the issues of the floor not being level with the baseboard and cracked baseboard was tons of caulk. And now the floor is covered with stickiness from the glue which we are unable to get off. Our issues are still pending....

I had Empire do the carpet on my steps and the upstairs hallway. I then wanted to rip the carpet up out of the living room. I had Empire do the flooring in the living room and the spare room down here. But I wasn't very happy with the installer and with his boss. From carpet to flooring, there’s a gap between the foyer and the living room. I wanted that wood put down to kinda make it so it wasn't too much of a drop so my husband wouldn’t stumble. The installer started doing it and I was at the hospital at that time. I had a heart attack in July and my husband had one two weeks later. He also has kidney failure, Parkinson’s, and dementia. But I ordered everything before I had the heart attack and before my husband did too.

My daughter and son-in-law were here. The installer was told to stop because the luan wasn’t put down and he called his boss. His boss said to go ahead and do it anyway. My son-in-law had to kick the installer out. It wasn’t the installer’s fault so much as it was his boss. I felt sorry for the kid. They came back to take it out and put that in. But when the installer opened up the box, something was scratched. A different guy then came back and kinda scraped that off where it was cut. He colored that in which was okay because I needed everything done now. I just wasn't very happy. I have more floors and more carpet that I’m going to do but not real soon.

I would like to go back with Empire. The installer of the carpet was absolutely wonderful and I can’t praise him enough. But as for the wood, I’m having an issue with that because I wanted it done and done right. It seemed like the young installer should have had help with him because they were told that I had a couple of cabinets. Two guys could have done it. If my son-in-law wasn't here, the installer couldn’t have done the floors. I emptied out the cabinets of all the glass and everything. But he couldn’t have moved those by himself. That could be an issue whenever they know ahead of time they are gonna have to be moved. It took several weeks to get the work finished.

I had to bring my husband home with everything in the dining area because it’s the door we come in and had to make a path to get him in. I thought for sure that everything would have been done because I didn't wanna cancel. I wanted it done for the reason that I wanted to bring my husband home and be able to put a bed in there, but it didn't happen. But as far as personality, the installer was good. I gave him a hug and tried to smooth things over. But his boss needs retraining. The installer just seemed scared to death of him. I’d love to meet this boss because I’d take him down a notch. All issues aside, I have and would recommend Empire.

We had Empire give us estimates on new flooring for a house we remodeled. We did carpet on the stairs and the upper level, solid hardwood on the entire first floor, and LVT in two small entryways. We love all three options we chose. Our salesperson (Joel) was great and our installers were great and did a lovely job and the price was fair.

What made us select Empire was the flexibility with scheduling. We gutted and remodeled all of the living space in this house and had so many different contractors (electricians, plumbers, multiple carpenters, tilers, etc.) working at different times on different projects that we didn't know when we would be able to get each room done. We were able to call Empire and schedule installation for certain areas on short notice (a few days). That helped us tremendously because we needed the kitchen floor installed before the cabinets went in, but didn't want the rest of the hardwood installed until much later and they were fine with that.

Our only complaints are that we wish there had been a better selection of flooring. We had some specific ideas of what we wanted and, unfortunately, were limited in the choices. Also, we had some installers out who said they couldn't do it because our floor wasn't level. They left and another team came out (the ones who previously did the kitchen) and they did it and it came out beautifully. No big deal - it took an extra day and we didn't care. But, I think if you have one team start a project, it would be good to have them do the rest of it because they will be familiar with the situation. Those two minor complaints don't warrant knocking a star off the rating, so we stand by our 5-star review. We're happy we went with Empire Today.

The flooring was in the upstairs master suite and the entire downstairs, except for the two bedrooms, kitchen and bath. It was the main living area and the hallway. I like the color and it is easy to care for. The installation team came in and gave me a little contract review, but I don’t think English was their first language. They were a little hard to understand and at one point, we had a question over how they were gonna do the moldings so, he needed to call the office and he spoke in Spanish to the girl. They did a good job. The installer just didn’t put that part down between the bedroom into the hallway. And there’s one going from the kitchen to the hallway, and then from the place on the other hallway into the kitchen, and then from the living room into the kitchen. I wasn’t home then but my son was there. The issue with them really was having to wait. Even the second time to put the linoleum down, I even had to wait the next day. So, scheduling was bad.

The other people offered the same brands, so it became a price war. The Empire sales representative who came out to our house was professional and knowledgeable, except for around the stairs. We have a stair opening downstairs that’s along the wall, and I told him what I wanted, but he wasn’t very knowledgeable of that part. He needed to do a little bit of homework but, overall, he was good. Then, the installation went well. The only issue that I had was with the material when it came in. They didn’t send enough stair nose for around the top of the stairs. They also didn’t send the toe-strip or the quarter round originally, which they then had sent and made it up. So, it’s all good. The guys did a great job and were very professional. All in all, I got my money’s worth.

The sales contract stated that 2 toilets were to be removed and replaced. Anyone who has ever moved a toilet knows you have to replace a wax ring when re-installing, anyone except our contractor from Empire.

Even after we provided the materials he managed to break all bolts that hold toilet down, then denied doing it. Then to make matters worse there was mastic all over the toilets, door frames and sinks. He over grouted some areas and didn't grout others. Then did not clear any over grout and used my dish towels to wipe some off. He went through our garage, took supplies without asking, used his wet saw inside the house. Cannot and will not refer anyone to Empire Today. Empire was supposed to do the floors in my house on Tuesday Sept. 24, 2019. A call was made at noon saying that they could not come. The reason given was that Empire did not have sufficient workers to send out to do the job. The Empire representative who sold us the product, was contacted and she, after talking to someone, called back and said that someone would be at our home to do the job at 9:00 a.m. 9/25/2019.

At 7:23 a.m. on 9/25/2019 a representative from Empire, with a strong Eastern European accent, called to say that someone will come between 4-6 p.m. on 9/25/2019. A request was made for them to come earlier because I did not want strangers in my home at night. The Empire representative told me that that was the only time available. At 6:09 on 9/25/2019 the Empire worker called to say that he will not be coming but would come on 9/26/2019. The salesperson, with whom we contracted the job was called about the issue. She told us that she was working on it. We never heard back from her.

All I could say is that Empire Today was deceptive in acquiring our business by telling us that the floors could be done the next day. Empire should have been honest in informing us, at the time that the product was introduced to us, that they could not tell us when they would get the job done because they did not have enough enough personnel to complete the job within the timeframe they promised. To make matters worse we received two directives via emails on how to prep the home for the installers. As a result of following those instructions, my home has been in disarray all week. With the circumstances as they are, we cannot, in good faith refer anyone to your company.

I wouldn't waste money with them again. Also since I had purchased the carpet, they were going to give me a deal on flooring. It was (now 75 percent off) twice the price that was originally quoted. Buyer beware.

Absolutely terrible service all the way around from Empire. I paid for the carpet in full when the contractor arrived. He was unable to complete the job because he was given incorrect measurements by the sales rep who checked the area prior to the job time. Not a single person from Empire has returned my call to reschedule the carpet installation (have tried five different points of contact). The subcontractor is the only person who responded to amend the situation (doesn't work for Empire). Days later, I still have all of my belongings in the living room, and Empire has all the money I paid for a job they failed to complete. I 100% DO NOT recommend them for an installation, it is a BIG COMPANY feel with ZERO customer service.

I shopped around a lot and I went with Empire because of the convenience of the estimate. Also, the price is really good, and I got a discount on top of that. So, they were able to lower the price a little more, which was good. The guys that came by were excellent and very respectful. They did a great job. I appreciated those. Empire sold me the carpet, installed it and your inept salesman never showed me or discussed with me any warranty from any company except to say that “Empire stands by and guarantees the product that they sell“. Period. I’m not letting this go until I get satisfaction from your Company. Frankly, it’s a disgrace that I have to go back and forth with your people and continually prod them for responses and to return calls. They’ve ignored my concerns for months and now this?? I’m sure the media will be all over this if I contact them. I hope I do not have to. THAT WAS IT. NO RESPONSE and it is the 8thn of October. I am gone for a week. Expect the media here soon.

Original Review: Terrible customer service. I have a clearly deficient carpet that has been inspected by a flunky installer & then by a manager who cannot get me any satisfaction or a refund by blaming the manufacturer, even though they both saw the very poor quality of the carpeting. It is wearing out, unraveling and pilling after less than one year of use UPSTAIRS in the bedroom area which is used by only two adults! Between the flunky and the manager, it took Empire over a month and numerous calls and emails to respond with their customer service girls apologizing profusely for Empire NOT helping me out. I will NEVER buy from Empire again!!!

The salesman was a young guy, and he was polite. We're trying to do an ivf procedure in January to have a baby. Also we're eventually building a house. My grandmother gave us a house to live in for rent free, until we have our baby, and our forever home built. The floors in it are gross and disgusting. Well we wanted to change the floors for the cheapest price possible. It's a tiny house..1266 sqft. We just wanted to replace the carpet everywhere and the vinyl in the two bathrooms and tiny kitchen. The price came out to $5,500. Like are you serious??? Plus there was suppose to be a 75% off!!! He told me that he showed me the carpet and vinyl that was 75% off.

We've used Empire two other times in the past. Not even two years ago, we had a house that was 2150 sqft, we had laminate floors put in for the entire downstairs, and new carpet upstairs. The cost was $9,500. We were beyond happy. The offer we got yesterday on the 1266 sqft house is a joke. We will be calling other companies and taking our business elsewhere. Just a huge waste of time for everyone. New carpet and vinyl in a 1266 sqft house is $5,500! FALSE advertising for 75% off. Don't listen to it. That carpet would have to be $20,000 carpet for that price to make sense. It's OK, we've used Empire twice, and we were gonna use them for the house we're building, not anymore. You just lost our business on our two houses, and my mother's house. I told her to not even call this company.

I was not involved with the installation, transactions, and the work performed as I live out of State. My Family lives in Boardman, Ohio and decided to go with this team of garbage. From the outside carpet installers to the inside padding, cut corners, chipped paint, glue residue, and the questionable contractors hired from another City/County and in my opinion brought in illegally from another country. The damages are done - the agreed upon refund was returned for the outside Carpet damage as recognized by Empire. However, I still question from Day 1 the license for the professionals that work for Empire as Third Party Contractors. I don't think they screen their employees and the install team was very filthy, unprofessional, dirty, and careless in their work. I Was not there but I can just see it in the photos that were taken.

I want the Ohio License number as all contractors working as 3rd party need to be properly skilled and licensed to do this work. Instead, Empire hires very shady workers and unskilled CHEAP labor. I have never received information about the Install team and where they come from. Other sources are telling me it is a crew of Mexicans with a side business out of Cleveland Ohio. If Empire cannot confirm this or give me the Ohio License information then I will pursue legal actions against them.

We did our part, we emptied our house. Parts were outside. When the day arrived, the guy measured, well come to find out the 2nd guy had all measurements & the diagram of the house totally wrong & they were short 5 feet of carpet. We talked to Susan, a manager on a Friday. She asked for a couple days to make it right & she would call me Monday.

On Monday she said she would contact the manufacturer & call me Tuesday. On Tuesday I called her because I didn't get a call. She said she had emailed the manufacturer that morning at 11:45 & was waiting for an email. At that point I was done. She should have emailed that co on Monday & call me Tuesday. I said cancel & refund. Our stuff had been outside for days, it rained & hailed while waiting for them. The whole thing was bad, plus they charged twice what our local co charged. Had Empire Today install carpet in my home about 30 days ago and the whole experience was great, from the sales professional to the installers. I then had an accident on the carpet in a room and needed it replaced. This is where the problems began. The local office (Pittsburgh) wouldn’t just reorder the carpet for the room and charge me the same as I had previously paid, they insisted on sending another sales professional to remeasure. I didn’t understand why, but had to wait a week for someone to show up. They measured and set an install date. Installers show up, same ones who did original install (they were great) and immediately told me he doesn't have enough carpet. He remembered a seam needed in room. The paperwork was a foot short on the width of the room, no way to install.

Installers called the Pittsburgh office where I spoke with **, who said there is nothing he could do as he just orders product and gives it to the installers. And that they don’t have carpet in the warehouse, he would have to reorder and have it delivered, the soonest will be Tuesday. This is unacceptable, consumers just don’t wake up and are prepared for an install, work is done before those installers ever show up. So now I have a garage full of furniture, my car in the driveway, house torn up, and will have to miss work to have the carpet (hopefully) installed on Tuesday. I asked to speak with a supervisor and Vidi, who said she doesn’t have a last name, only took a message to pass along to the local office and they would get back to me within 24 business hours. She also told me that no one in a Fortune 500 company has company cell phones, to try to reach them today. I am most definitely sure she is lying about that just like her not having a last name.

I was so pro-Empire after the initial install, but now, I am regretting my decision, because what happens when if I have to utilize the warranty? Are they going to be this difficult? I gave it 1-star, not because of the installer, not because of the sales professional (mistakes happen) but because of the very poor customer service when you have an issue, and because Vidi outright lied to me. Unbelievable.

It was still cheaper than what it was gonna cost me somewhere else, yet it’s kinda deceiving how they advertise. I’m smart enough to understand that you don’t get anything for free. And they can say it’s $50 a room after the first room, and there ain’t gonna be $50 a room. I do wish afterwards, that on the paperwork, they had actually laid it out. They didn’t, they just gave a big ballpark number. So, as far as that goes, I wasn’t really happy. But as far as the workmanship, the people coming in, everything, I was happy with.

The installer did say the floor was defective, and took that info back to claims dept. The gal I was working with then emails and asks for additional photos, of which I sent to her. 2 weeks later she calls me and says the claim was denied and they will do nothing to back up their materials, even though it wasn't quite a year since install.

I will be fighting this decision, as our $6000 floors look terrible. There is definitely a defect in the flooring, and for them to not honor their warranty is a bad move. I will NEVER use Empire again, and advise anyone who is thinking about it to run the other way. No follow up/confirmation email to confirm the time, date, and payment because these guys are “professionals” LOL. But I don’t blame the individuals who were supposed to come out and do the work. [You can only expect so much from those who barely know how to do simple and basic functions].

Empire decided to make a poor [yet continuous based on majority of reviews] business decision by letting another half ** business come in and do their work for them. However, when you go to call them out on the phone for their mistakes, they are ever SO quick to blame anyone but themselves. No Responsibility for lack of follow up, No Responsibility for making sure that operations are running the way they need to be, No Responsibility for doing a satisfactory service of which they scream about in their infomercials. They just run your credit card and then close their eyes and let the dingleberries on the other side of the line pick a day [hopefully in the same month!] that isn’t what you agreed to! Lol, why would they care if you miss work and money? You’re still paying them.

Empire Today had the best price and best service. I ended up getting luxury vinyl plank from them. Everything was great with the installation, except for the fact that none of the installers spoke English and we didn't know what room they were gonna do next. They'd indicate they were gonna do a room, so we cleared out that room so they could do it, but then they decided to do a different room. So we had to hustle to go clear out that room. Other than that, everything else was fine. The transitions are very good. The quality was good enough for me.

The installation was wonderful, but we were told that they were gonna send someone out to paint the trim because the half-round didn't match what was existing there. However, there was a dispute over that and I’m not sure where that is at this point. Still, the carpeting has a fine texture.

When we called Empire for some carpeting, we got an appointment for a salesman to come quite quickly. However, he cancelled the first appointment. When he finally came, he measured and showed us the choices of carpet. He told us that we could have it installed on Tuesday of the following week. On Tuesday I waited until 1030 to call Empire to find out where our installers were. The call center did not even have our order in the system. After speaking to the salesman's supervisor, turns out the salesman never even entered our order, even though we paid a deposit. Finally, after several phone calls, we had the installation scheduled for that Thursday. On Thursday I proactively called to make sure someone was coming. The call center told me that we were scheduled but couldn't tell me a time other than "between 8-4".

Well, the installers came at 630pm! At about 1130 they told us that they didn't have enough carpet to finish the job and that they would come back Monday. FINALLY, the following Thursday, the carpeting was completed. This was a nightmare! I placed 30 phone calls to empire looking for answers during this time. I will NEVER use or recommend then again. Also, we were told we would receive a survey and they would appreciate 9's or 10's as a score. HA! I never received the survey, I wonder why?!

The second time the installers came out, they put the carpet in, but they didn’t put the wires under it like we had them before, so it wasn’t to our satisfaction. Still, they tried to do a really good job. I considered other companies, but with Empire Today, I didn’t have to go out and buy the carpet. They brought it to my home. We had Empire quote both carpet and vinyl. They weren't the cheapest, but they claimed to be able to do the install quickly, so we went with them anyway. Carpeting was done very poorly - parts of the carpet not tacked down at all, parts just folded and laying against molding, parts that should have been installed underneath a railing were just sitting on top of the metal, frayed edges exposed. They damaged the paint all along a wall where they carpeted a staircase. We had to have a second installer come out to fix all the issues. Vinyl was even worse. Twice we had scheduled appointments that Empire no-showed on. The third time, after arriving they demanded an extra $2000 on top of the $7000 already quoted (for vinyl!) to do the job as they claimed that their salesman didn't quote it correctly. We canceled the install and will never do business with Empire again.

Consumers should be aware that when doing business with Empire Today, they are dealing with a large nationwide sales company and they are subbing out the actual installs - from what I could tell. The bid and sales process was quick. Once I confirmed my purchase, there was a very rapid "signing" of electronic pages on a tablet. No time to really read. The actual invoice and outline of work was VERY vague (no sq footage outlined, limited detail on scope of work for eventual installer).

They call you for a week, daily, to ensure you will be home when the installers are scheduled and require you to accommodate a window of 8a to 6p! That gets narrowed down the morning of. The "crew" assigned to my job called to indicate an 11:30 or 12 arrival. At 2:30 I was still waiting - reached out to sales person who indicated "they were busy but he'd look into it". "Crew" of 1 showed up at 3p and first item on the agenda was to collect my full payment. He hadn't even unloaded his van and wanted all payment and for me to sign a document that said I was happy with the installation! I did not sign, but did pay as their materials state that's their expectation.

It had been my expectation that the installation would be on that day - so I had made arrangements to be available that day as requested. No surprise that the one guy got very little accomplished by 5p when he wrapped up and asked when he could return the next day - assuring me he'd be done by noon. I made further arrangements - but by noon the next day he didn't have all the supplies he needed and had to come back the next day. This went on for FOUR more days! A little bit of work - failed to have all supplies - needs to come back.

At the end - finally - the floor looks nice and I was super relieved not to have to continue to deal with it. Essentially I became the General Contractor - explaining what work needed to be done, and double checking all the work throughout the process. Essentially I became the General Contractor - explaining what work needed to be done, and double checking all the work throughout the process.

When I expressed my concerns via the one email I got from the company about my experience, there was no response. They had my money - done deal. Super disappointing customer service and the process of leaving these poor installers to try to interpret vague work orders having never even seen the space seems like pretty shady practice. Go in eyes wide open - at the end of the day I have a decent floor completed - but it was a painful process - and didn't need to be. I've had tons of other work done on the house with much more professionalism and organization. They really failed on any sort of customer service. Jennifer ** Denver Metro Area

Thought I was all set with laminate flooring at a fair price for my living room, dining room, sunroom, and hallway. Trim transition pieces, “everything included for 4,850." Salesman failed to mention it could be extra if the floor wasn’t level. Empire called at least six times to confirm my 8/29/19 install appt. Said they load up at 7:30 am. I drove 72 miles from my other home to be there then. At 11:30 got a call. "Heard from the installers yet?" "Nope." "Oh, I see. Here you’re scheduled for a pm appt." "No one told me that. What time?" "Installer will call you." OK. 3:45 pm. Guy calls. "I’ll be there in about an hour. Will at least get the old carpet up today. And just so you know, it’ll be extra if your floor’s not level." ???? OK... Shows up at 4:45, rips up a section of the carpet. "Your floor needs leveling. I have to leave now." "Can’t you at least get the carpet out?" "I’m off at 5."

Many angry messages later (no one from Empire sales, installation, or our salesman will answer, of course), I cancel the order. Salesman calls days later. "So sorry. Will get a better installation team," yadayada. Reschedule for Sept 5th. Team of two show up this time, rip up another section of carpet. "Floor needs leveling - let me send a pic to my manager." Half hour later - "We can’t do it. But I can do it on the side, on my own. Just don’t tell Empire I said this." Bye bye Felicia. Spent next 6 hours pulling staples and padding from our original, beautiful hardwood floor (circa 1951), and cutting up the carpet they both left in our living room into 3 foot sections and duct taping, so our garbage men will take it. DONE with Empire!!! And I was a repeat customer.

I hired Empire Today to install laminate flooring in my entire house (1854 sqft), and carpet on the stairs. The salesman, Greg **, was extremely nice and accommodating. He gave me his personal number and told me to call or text him if there were any problems with the installation. He responded to a couple of my texts prior to installation. He specifically told me that I should go through him for any issues, and gave me no other number or person to contact. Once demolition started, he never responded to my texts again. He told me the flooring was waterproof, which I found out later wasn't true. He also told me that I had the best installation team they had coming out, only to find out the installation teams aren't chosen until the day of the job.

Scheduling with Empire was a nightmare. They were unable to tell me a timeframe the installers would arrive. I was told they could arrive anywhere between 8:00am and 5:00pm. When I told them that I couldn’t sit around all day and miss work, so I needed to cancel my order, I was told that I could go to work, and someone would call me 45 minutes before arrival, that way I wouldn’t miss more work than I was able to miss. I wasn’t called until the installation team with 20 minutes from my house, so they ended up having to wait for me – something else I dislike doing. The carpet installation was scheduled for Wednesday, a different day than the laminate installation. This time, they told me he would arrive between 1:00 and 5:00. I left work early, and the installer was a no-show. I was offered $100 compensation for my wasted time, which I accepted.

Empire is a middle man. They hire out the installation to contractors who have no real investment in you getting your project complete or done properly. The installation team they hired for my job was Metro Flooring (Las Vegas, NV). One guy came in and walked through my house with me to ensure they had the correct rooms for installation. He did not discuss with me the process, nor did I see him on site ever again. Greg, the salesman, had told me that they would push furniture to one side of the room, remove the old flooring, install the new flooring, move the furniture to the completed side, and repeat the process. This is not what happened.

Metro Flooring moved all my furniture into 3 rooms, stacking items in haphazard ways, scratching wooden furniture and putting dents in my walls in the process. I have freshly painted cabinets in my kitchen and every one of the lower cabinets was scratched from the removal of the tile. They took no actions to prevent this from happening. When I addressed these damages with Empire Today, they claimed that the installation team did not cause the damage, but offered me $200 in compensation. I figured there was no way I could prove they caused the damage (even though they did), so I accepted this compensation.

If you’re keeping track, they now owe me $300 in compensation. Metro Flooring also used their Miter Saw in one of my upstairs bedrooms, leaving a thick layer of sawdust on all my wall hangings. They did a poor job of cleaning up the job site, probably because it was 9:30pm and they were rushing to leave. The time that was scheduled for the job was definitely not appropriate for the time needed to complete the job.

The installation team was also installing baseboards. I was told the incorrect amount of baseboards to purchase for my second story, so they ran out (Greg, the salesman, told me how many linear feet to purchase). Another problem right off the bat was the color of the transitions. They had sent a color that was too dark. I noticed this as soon as I came home the day the transitions were installed. To my relief, the installer had realized these weren't the correct transitions, and hadn't glued/nailed them down. He promised he would come back on Thursday (two days later) to finish the baseboards and install the correct transition. He didn't return for 3 weeks, and came back with the exact same color transitions that he had before. He was angry about this, and refused to do anything until he could complete everything on the same day.

When I told him that was unacceptable since two of my bedrooms were unusable since he left all the furniture stacked in one of them, he agreed to move the furniture back. I should have insisted he finish the baseboards, because I still couldn’t use the rooms since everything that needed to go back in the closets was stacked on the beds.

Between the original days the installation was supposed to be completed, and the day he came back 3 weeks later, I noticed 3 pieces of flooring that had chips on the ends or sides, and 1 piece with a saw mark on it from the miter saw. I also noticed that they left labels on two pieces of quarter round under the cabinets, and there were large gaps between many pieces of the flooring. The Metro flooring installer wouldn’t fix any of these problems that day. Again he promised he would come back on Thursday (5 days later) to install the correct transitions, finish the baseboards, and fix the flooring problems.

One week later (installation + 4 weeks), a customer service representative came out to my house so I could pick the transition I wanted. She told me that Metro Flooring refused to come out again until I did this. She brought some very small samples, none of which matched the flooring. I chose one that was a better match than what Empire had sent, but expressed my displeasure that Empire didn’t provide an option that matched the flooring they sold me. The customer service rep told me that she would have the new transitions by Monday (3 days away) and that the install team could come back and install them on Thursday. I told her that I couldn’t miss any more work, so she said they would come on Saturday.

On Saturday, I hadn’t heard from anyone by noon, so I called the office. A man named Hugo picked up the phone, and said there was no appointment for me to get my flooring installed. Turns out that they hadn’t received the transitions in time, and switched my appointment to the following Saturday, without telling me or checking if that date worked for me (it didn’t because I was going to be out of town for work). We rescheduled for the following Thursday.

Thursday (installation + 6.5 weeks), an installer from a different company showed up to install the transitions. He was unaware of any of the other items that needed to be finished (baseboards and flooring issues fixed). He called his supervisor who came over and was very helpful. Her team was unable to work on my floors because they hadn’t been scheduled properly time-wise, but she told me how to maintain my floors (something Metro Flooring was supposed to do) and talked to me about my options if my flooring didn’t get finished soon. She also told the customer service rep to order 4 more boxes of flooring to fix the hallway where most the chipped pieces were. She left the transitions (correct color) and two boxes of flooring at my house so it could get acclimatized.

The following Tuesday (installation + 7 weeks), the original company came out to fix the problems and finish the baseboards and transitions. They did not bring the 4 extra boxes of flooring, but were able to fix the issues with the two that had been left the previous week. I ended up having to take another half day off work to accommodate their schedule, because I was concerned I wouldn’t get the job completed otherwise.

Now, the customer service rep who promised to compensate me $300 isn’t answering my texts or returning my calls. I have yet to receive my compensation 8 weeks later. It is clear to me that Empire Today only cares about the profit and does not care about the customer. Save yourself the headache and frustration. Call a company directly, because then you won’t be up-charged and the installation company will have their own reputation on the line if they don’t do the job well.

I made an online appointment to meet with an estimator about carpeting a room in my house. The rep showed up right when I was told and he was exceedingly friendly and helpful. After some small talk and taking measurements he helped me pick from a few samples he had brought. Everything up to this point was going smoothly. The price seemed fair and from all the constant ads I see from them, what’s not to trust?

This was a Friday and I was told I would be getting a call Monday about what time to expect the installers on Tuesday. In the next email I got on Sunday, I was informed they would call anytime between 8am and 6pm and to have someone home during this whole time. Naturally I had to rearrange my whole next few days. My daughter had to go back to her moms early just in case they showed up right at eight, and I had to have time to remove everything from the room being done.

I get a call at 7am Tuesday morning saying they are about an hour away. So I finish removing the large objects to clear the space. The couple that showed up could not have been nicer but after taking one look at the floor, they immediately checked their supplied paperwork and knew instantly that the estimator measured incorrectly. They measured again just to be certain and sure enough they were short.

They were nice enough to give me options, they could do the room and come back for the stairs tomorrow, but have more seams on the floor, or just do everything another day. Since none of this was their fault I assured them it was okay to just do it right in one pass another day. They contacted corporate and apologized again before leaving.

About an hour later I get a call from my estimator who could not have sounded less concerned. Basically I got a, “whoops oh well stuff happens I guess” from him. Working nights, I had to rearrange a considerable amount of scheduling to make time for this on this day and I feel like this is the wrong attitude to have from quite literally his own personal mistake. I asked what should we do from here in terms of inconvenience since I also had to take a day off work. He said it couldn’t be done that day since the carpet came from Detroit. I cut right to it and asked for maybe a small rebate for the inconvenience and missed work. His tone changed drastically and said there was no way he could do anything like that but he could probably get me a $50 missed installation credit.

I think it’s outrageous that a sales rep would not lead with that at the very very least. Had I not said anything he would have never offered. Which is asinine because at the very least, that’s exactly what happened. Except I don’t blame the installers, they did exactly what they were supposed to and more if you ask me, for taking the time to recheck everything before they got started. For a company that people trust with a pretty important part of their homes, I am not at all impressed with the attention to detail and customer service on a company level. Lesson learned, next time, go local.

Our purchasing experience with Empire Today was fabulous. We had carpet installed in the whole home other than the kitchen. It’s marble mixed with tan and black and a little bit of gray. They said the color was the cha cha cha. Everything went fine with the installation. The first time, we had the flooring of the living room, the dining room, the stairs, and the upper hallway done. That was one crew. Then a short time later, I had a different crew come and do all the bedrooms and the closets. The installers were fabulous. We were very pleased with the results and the quality of the product.

It didn't hit till sometime after my carpet was laid, why there was so much carpet pad left over. I didn't get the full pad down the staircase (I watched but didn't ask why. Never laid carpet before). The contractors PATCHED my pad together on each stair step. I don't even know if my closets have the full pad to the back of the walls. There was so MUCH pad left over (I have pictures). I happened to ask for the large amount of carpet that was left, or they being "CONTRACTORs" would of had enough carpet and pad to do a job on their own!! Not too happy with why there was so much product left over! I PAID for that! As for the carpet itself, love what I choose.

I also looked at four other companies and Empire wasn't the cheapest and highest, but I really liked the two people, Lisa and her husband, who came out here. They were friendly and they explained everything to me. With the first price that came out, it was not going to happen. Then, they called the supervisor and they had gotten a little bit better pricing, and so I gave them a job right on the spot. I had carpet in the whole house and some laminate tile in my bathroom and kitchen. We’re very happy with everything. The bathroom floors are beautiful and the carpet is exactly what I wanted. We've had to clean up excess glue and shifting tile. I also had to add tile around one return air register as the hole was not completely covered.

Where to begin with this company? My boyfriend and I had Empire Today come to our home in Miami in December of 2018. The contractor wrote an estimate for our high rise interior and exterior. He also stated he would need to have permits and we could pay him to do this, great, since we do also have a home in CA. Bad! Took him 2 months to obtain the permit with barely any communication, all the while Empire is emailing us they're coming out to install our laminate floors. Over 20+ notifications and calls!

He finally receives permit, great. We get on a plane to come, again, no communication from Empire as to who is coming to install. Also they are fully aware they need to leave the samples of the laminate and underlayment with my building. This was never done, nor was a copy of their insurance provided to my building, until the day before? They were suppose to come weeks before they actually came out. February 11th they showed up. 5 hours late. I had been calling the local office in Miami and nobody ever called back, no communication again!

Onto the floors, the installers left a mess. We have dips in the floor, they overcharged for material. Our unit is only 1,006 square feet, nowhere on the paperwork does it state the cost of materials and how they get to that number? They were not able to do the patio as they never gave the sample to my building. They left nails sticking up with my dog cut her paw on, what if this was a child? I have pictures and detailed information of everything. They never had the city inspector come so now they have to come out and pull up my floor again to have the permit closed?!

I have been in dispute with my credit card company for the past few months over this dispute. I have offered to pay for materials and labor for what my unit costs. Nobody from corporate will call me back. Even when I call the consumer line they cannot get a hold of anyone to resolve my case. I have names of people in the corporate and finance departments in IL but no phone numbers as they are not allowed to give that out. I have been trying to resolve these issues without moving any further. I continue to call Empire corporate for someone to reach out and resolve these ongoing issues, no response. This unit was to be a rental unit, and I am losing money and loss of use over these past few months of nobody doing anything. I have all documentation that is needed to show proof of negligence.

We purchased laminate wood flooring and it went in our great room. We did some shopping and Empire Today would haul away our old carpet and help move some of the heavy pieces of furniture, so we went with them. Everything would be all taken care of and done within one day’s time. Dealing with the sales rep went very smoothly, and everything was fine. I was trying to match some hardwood that we had. I’ve wanted the new luxury vinyl tiles, but they did not have anything that matched our current hardwood flooring in part of the house. So, we had to go with a recommended product that matched. It was the closest what we could get without going to hardwood.

Installation went very smoothly. They were here very promptly in the morning, and they called ahead saying they would be here by 8 o’clock. Everything went on schedule. They were neat, they respected our furniture, and they took care of things well. The flooring has met our expectations. I like its ease of clean-up. I can take my microfiber dust mop and swoop it around easily. Also, I like the way it looks and I like the feel. When we made our decision, within a week or two it was all installed. Everything was done very quickly. I’m very pleased with it, and I would recommend it.

I had experience with flooring, estimating and doing all that, and I got wood laminate from Empire Today. Before I called them, I had a couple of other estimates from different companies. When their sales guy came in, he did his thing and then he told me it was gonna be $3,500. I said that I had an estimate for $1,700 for doing the same exact thing that they were telling me, so their price was twice as high. He then went, "Well, let me see what I can do." He made his phone call, came back, and said that his boss said they can do it for 17 too. So, they cut the price in half. Then we signed the paperwork, and I gave him $150 down. But there was a little problem. When the installers came, they still had the price at $3,500. I said that was not how it goes. So, they made a phone and they called somebody who said that the paperwork was wrong and that it was supposed to be 1,700. So, I gave him a credit card for the 1,500, and it all worked out fine.

The installer, his wife and the other guy were great. I was impressed and very happy with what those guys did. They were wonderful. He didn't stop from the time they got there until they get it done. After they were done, they cleaned up everything, put my furniture all back the way it was. He was very professional. He didn't speak English but his wife did. Overall, I was very satisfied. I have wood in my kitchen, and also in my little entry hall, so it matched up pretty well.

Would not honor installers work after six months or the quality of the carpet showing signs of wear.

ALSO they tried charging $12000 dollars but sales person said today only 50 percent off. Must buy now now now $6000. We thought that was an amazing deal so we foolishly bought the carpet. I am a quality control personnel for Doyon, which is a government-owned construction company, and I knew the quality of work of the person that did the work in the buildings that we’d done. I found out that Empire did that work on that job, so I contacted them. I got carpet installed and they did the whole downstairs, the steps, the landing coming up, and the hallway on the second floor. I'm trying to get everything situated right now and I got painting going on but once the painting is finished, they're supposed to come back and measure up for the carpets for the four bedrooms and the closet. Then, by end of October, I'm getting our kitchen done and they're supposed to come back to finish off the downstairs. We are ripping up linoleum and putting down the tile downstairs in the kitchen area. So, I got them scheduled to do a lot of work.

So far, they did excellent work and the workers were top-notch. They moved very fast, very clean, and very thorough. I couldn’t give them anything less and there was nothing wrong from the time they came in. They came at the time that they said they were gonna show up, they did everything they said they were gonna do and finished them, and they cleaned up after themselves, left the equipment back to where it was, and came and asked my wife if she wanted it there or did she want to change it. I tell everybody in my neighborhood that’s getting ready to do a remodel that they gotta call these guys. And I told Empire's rep that the next time he comes by, he has to get some business cards. That’s how much I'm impressed with their work.
