I had Empire Today do a couple of jobs in Massachusetts, so they were one of the people I kept in mind. They did our floor and it was good. It made the place look much nicer. Recently, we needed a new rug and we went with them again. They were excellent and the contractor did the job, who were a man and his son, were terrific. They were all business and when they left, everything was done correctly. They took the existing one out and installed the new one in my wife's office. We bought a new house and if we want to change something, they would be the one we would call. Empire Today gave us a fair price, too. We talked to another company on the phone for something that was going out, which should be have a better price, but it was way higher than what Empire Today installed for us.
When you get Empire, you don't really know who's going to be coming to your house to install the product. And if you get someone else, you know exactly who it is. But I understand that part and I don't have any problem with that. Also, my son in Massachusetts said that Empire is low, but just because it's low, that doesn't mean they're not going to do a good job and the quality is not going to be there. In my case, the experience was great from the beginning to the end.

I used Empire Today in the past and I was happy with them. I didn't wanna take a chance. I've always been happy with their products. So, when I went and looked and the rep showed me what I asked for, they had exactly what I wanted. That made my decision right there. I recently had some rugs put down on an entryway and a bedroom. It was for a multi-family home that we owned. The style and the color came out awesome. The installer was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He went in, did his job, and it was great. It worked out really well for me. Go to Empire Today and use them.

I recently purchased carpeting and linoleum flooring from Empire Today. I had the latter in my dining room, living room and middle bedroom. I already had the flooring in the other two rooms and I wanted to continue the same color into my other bedrooms. I wanted it all continuous. However, I didn't think the vinyl flooring would be like it was. Empire Today said it was waterproof but it wasn't and it already started coming up on the edges a bit. I had that part of it replaced, but I still like it.
Empire put the flooring in on two different days - the carpeting on one day, and then the vinyl flooring on the other day. And the second day that they brought the vinyl flooring, they brought the flooring, but they didn't bring the border. They had to wait three days to get the stuff. I was not happy about that. You order the flooring, but you don't order the border? That doesn't make sense. But they fixed it right. I'm handicapped so I couldn't move the furniture myself, but they put it right where I wanted it to go. They messed up, but they corrected it without any issues.

I had a company come out and give me a quote for a carpeting work to be done in our basement. I then had a meeting with an Empire consultant. In the end, I chose Empire because they had much nicer carpet and more selection. They had the color I wanted. I was going for a specific kind of gray. The other company had some grays but they were more of a warm gray. Empire had a really nice cool gray that I liked a lot better. The price was reasonable too.
The crew that came out was very kind and professional. They explained everything that was going on before and after. They did the job a lot faster than I expected. I like the softness of the carpet. It's very comfy. Empire had great service and they were very professional. From the consultation all the way to the final installation, it was very smooth. Also, everybody who works for Empire was very friendly and willing to answer any questions I had to make me feel very comfortable.

Purchased ($6,000.00) worth of fake wood flooring for my home office about 18 months ago. In one room the flooring boards have moved (crap install) and there is a 2" gap between the planks. After about six calls initially over a 2 week period I received a call back from a Kathleen, (Melville NY office) stating that they would charge me $90.00 for a tech to look at it. I explained that was silly and can I send pictures. She agreed the pictures would work and within 10 minutes she had the pictures. She quickly responded to confirm she had the pictures and someone would get back to me shortly. That was September 29th 2020. As of today 11-02-2020 and a dozen calls and emails, nobody (the repair department) has contacted let alone resolve this. I have all the emails and pictures and recorded calls to back this all up.
Walter, we take your concerns seriously and sincerely apologize for your experience. We've located your order and will be in touch with you shortly to start working on a resolution.

Ridiculous, horrible, inexcusable experience. We ordered carpeting for 2 bedrooms in a second home we purchased in south Florida. Installation was scheduled well in advance since we were coming down from the midwest to get a lot of things done during a short stay. The afternoon before the install date, I was informed that the carpeting had not been loaded on the truck and I was rescheduled for the following day. That messed up my schedule. The following day, a single installer arrived (it was clearly a 2 person job) and informed me that the company did not give him an adequate amount of carpeting for the job and this would be pushed...again...to next day.
The next day, 2 different installers arrived with enough carpeting but one of the carpets was not what we ordered. It was what we had originally ordered but our decorator changed it and the Empire salesperson confirmed the change...we got the wrong one! We couldn't sacrifice another day to allow the correct carpeting to be delivered so we told them to install what they had. After taking all day to do 2 rooms (I was told it was a 3 to 4 hour job), they incorrectly reassembled the beds that they took apart and left.
When I called to have someone come back and do it correctly, an extremely rude woman raised her voice to me and told me that the disassembly and reassembly of beds is MY responsibility even though I have a pamphlet entitled "Preparing For Your Installation" that clearly says that the installers will take care of it! I'm 73 years old with a heart condition. Do you honestly think I would contract with any carpeting company that wants me to do that myself? Oh...one last thing! The installers insisted on the full balance of payment before they started the installation. Although I find that to be unusual, I agreed. However, the person processing the charge card on the phone insisted that I owed significantly more than the correct amount. It took almost 30 minutes to get that corrected. I tried to speak to someone in the home office to get some resolution of these issues but was denied. CAVEAT EMPTOR!

Back in the day, my mother used Empire Today and she always liked their work. So we're really big on product loyalty and if you do right by us, we'll continue to come back. I have an up and down. About two months ago, I had two rooms upstairs done by Empire Today. I liked the work and the product, so I came back and had carpet installed in the dining area and a bedroom. The carpet we chose was actually one of the cheaper ones. But the quality is phenomenal. We love the colors for both rounds and we love that it's just soft and comfortable.
Empire Today came up with some good deals and our salesperson was really good at working with us on our budget and trying to find something that would fit. I liked the fact that she didn't try to sell us stuff we couldn't afford. When I called, they could see who I worked with before and they sent her back out. I appreciate that 'cause now, we have a relationship. I'm a relationship person. When people are good to me and they treat me well, I like to reciprocate that by continuing to give them my business. The sales lady was really good and I really wanted to bless her by making sure she was here for my second round. We also may end up getting more work done in the future and Empire has done well for us.
Empire Today is really good at working with people in their budget. They're very professional and efficient. The sales lady came out and did her job. It was a in and out process of getting the measurements and us choosing our products and even the installation. They also cleaned up. I was very satisfied with the service that we received from them.

I got waterproof vinyl plank flooring for the whole house. It's exactly what I had before. Not only is it waterproof, but it's also warm. The vinyl plank itself is so much warmer than wood. I had a couple of people come out and talk to me about it, but Empire had the best flooring. I had Home Depot install some flooring and I really, really liked the flooring they installed. But I had so many problems with Home Depot. The flooring that I got from Empire has good quality. The price was reasonable and the product was what I liked. Their product for me was what I call the best unless I wanted to go back to Home Depot. Empire had great service and installers. I had a really, really good experience. I'd do it again.
However, I'm having some issues. The ends of the boards are kinda popping up a little bit. Maybe their locking technology isn't functioning quite as good as it probably could. But even if it pops up, it just takes a little rubber mallet. You just tap it, it'll pop back in again, but then it pops back out. But it's not an Empire issue. It's a flooring issue.

We had laminate vinyl flooring in our rental home installed by Empire as they suited what we needed better. The techs who installed worked hard and though the process took a little longer than what I expected at two full days, it was for a whole house and I had to allow time for a whole-house installation instead of just a room. We like that the flooring we got is waterproof and scratch-proof.

I looked at a few places. Empire gave me the best bang for my buck. They had competitive prices. I also had some other friends that had utilized the same services who were happy with the product. I went over and looked at it and in the end, I got some hardwood floors from them. I had that installed in the family room and main traffic areas of my home, and I was happy with the outcome. The color enhances the room and that was one of my factors why I decided to go with that one. I also liked the quality of the material that was used. All in all, the quality of the service was great. The salesman was very knowledgeable when he came out and there was one little hiccup initially, but he fixed that pretty quickly. We're satisfied with Empire Today and I'm looking to use the services again for another part of my house because I'm doing it in phases.

Had wood laminate flooring installed. Contract states that it would be placed under stove, refrigerator and dishwasher. The installers installed the flooring under stove and refrigerator but refused to put it under the dishwasher. AT NO TIME was I ever told that dishwasher had to be disconnected and moved prior to install. When doing live chat with Empire, they advised that they don't disconnect gas or water (yet they disconnected my GAS STOVE). Finally, after one week of calling (I had received a service request order the day of install which they said I would be contacted within 1-2 days of install) I called and waited on hold today and they advised that they would reinstall under the dishwasher if I disconnected it prior to them coming out. DO NOT recommend having Empire install any type of flooring.

Empire installed our carpet a few years ago so we thought we could trust them with the kitchen and two bathrooms. It all started with the salesman, Nicholas **, and telling him what we wanted - he agreed to this and we thought he put it into his notes for the contractors. We agreed to light-colored grout for all three floors due to the rooms being relatively small. We agreed to have our current quarter rounds removed in the kitchen and the tile would go under the baseboards in all rooms (the bathrooms did not have any existing quarter rounds). We agreed to not having a threshold placed in any of the rooms (Mr. ** said that since we bought carpet with them previously, they would make the carpet and tiles meet).
We received many surprises - mismatching tiles in the kitchen (some look like they were sitting on a dock for several years), a wooden quarter round nailed into the fiberglass shower and not caulked beneath it (hello rotting subfloor - Empire, you will fix this), a wooden quarter-round somehow held against the tub and not caulked, mistakes made on quarter rounds all over [some too long to fit and smashed together, some damaged and caulked over, thresholds that we didn't ask for installed via cutting into our doorframe and then caulked over mistakes, and thresholds that don't match], no acknowledgment of my emails after submitting a complaint, taking two days to come out and evaluate these issues).
You need to cancel all your appointments and fix what you did! We don't care about YOUR wallet, what about ours? And our floors look a mess! To top it off, we have NO vanities in our bathrooms and PLANNED TO HAVE THEM INSTALLED THIS WEEKEND! Do you know how hard it is to get a contractor to do that at this point in time??? Everyone is booked out 'till January!!!
The contractors showed up yesterday and I was home all day long. It took them 14 hours to do three floors, I was out of a toilet for two hours because they started rushing, and they NEVER asked a single question. (Did we want quarter rounds? Is this grout the right color?) To be fair, Katherine ** was very compassionate and lovely over the phone when taking my complaint. I am extremely concerned, however, because she is not responding to the emails with all the pictures I submitted. I will call them again tomorrow to ensure that the pictures have been received and looked at.
I am so very disappointed with the way these floors have turned out. We were extremely excited to have the floors done as they factor into our remodeling project. We were so very, very deeply upset that they left these floors in this condition. Do you not vet your contractors or are they not experienced enough? Or did you not even communicate with them what we would have liked to have done to our floors? One of the guys also did not wear his mask!

After my experience with Empire, I would highly advise against using them. After I cancelled an installation, they hounded me to make a better deal. After agreeing to a reasonable price, they sent installers on the scheduled date. They wanted to charge us an extra 1000 dollars for plywood. I was willing to work with them since they said it was required, but they wouldn’t budge on price. I know that plywood is pretty cheap material so when I brought this to their attention, they still wouldn’t work with me on the price. Then, when I tried to follow up with the people who originally kept calling me, they gave excuses as to why they couldn’t talk. Bobby is very deceptive in his dealings. Beware of the prices he quotes you at. Will go with a better company now. Lesson learned.

I've used Empire a year ago when I did my dad's whole house with their flooring, so I knew I wanted to use them again when I needed new flooring. I've had three jobs with Empire in the last month. I had two bedrooms done in my home, then we have a vacation home in Big Bear and they did the whole house. I also have a duplex and I had them do the living room, kitchen, and service porch there. It just so happened that all three jobs all came down at one time and I was pleased with all of them.
But I was pleased the least with the work at my house because the product arrived with a smell and it took three weeks for the smell to really go away. I'm not convinced that it's totally gone, but it is much better. Other than that, I like the durability of the product and the fact that it's waterproof flooring. I also like the guy who came out and showed me the product. I liked him very much and I used him at all three houses. I would also tell others about him and tell that he would help them.

Two of our bedrooms needed carpets replaced because my parents had their dogs in their room and my daughter had her cat in hers. Both of those rooms smelled really bad. We had the carpets cleaned but that wasn't enough. We needed replacements immediately as we have really bad allergies and we couldn't be in the house without sneezing. That led us to Empire and though they were very expensive, they were able to come within two days. When their techs came to install, the carpet was damaged on their truck and so they weren't able to get the replacement done that same day. Plus, they were gonna charge us so much to do one closet.
My husband called the tech who was at our location and told him that they either had to take some money off the cost or do the closets in the rooms. The techs fought back but ended up doing one of the closets. In hindsight, we should have pushed more because our master bedroom is on the first floor and unless our closet is closed, people can see that it has different carpets.

Everyone should be aware that when you use Empire (which I never will), you’re stuck with them. They are an installation company, so once you install their product, they are the only ones who can repair and if it’s not covered under warranty, you have to pay whatever price they want to match your flooring. I bought a house last year, beautiful vinyl flooring throughout. Soon after, a dip in the sub flooring made several pieces of vinyl begin to crack. After asking 3 companies to review, all offered modest repair costs IF I could get a box of the same flooring - it has to be a match!
I track down that it was sold and installed by Empire, and although the sales rep clearly said it would have been covered under warranty if I was the original owner, I had bought the house and wasn’t the original purchaser. The quote was, at a minimum, over $600 more than the other THREE quotes. And could go up to $1500, as they are said they need to open up almost half the room. No one agrees with their assessment but - I’m stuck. Either I have to replace the entire room with something other than empire (which I feel like doing because I’d never want to use them after this experience) or I have to pay a minimum of $800 to replace 3 pieces and level out the floor underneath. Seem pretty nuts when a host of other independent flooring experts are saying otherwise - and all agree, this is Empire's game! So beware!

Long story short, we had LVP installed in a small 55 sq. ft. walkway by our front door, replacing traditional ceramic subway tile. We knew we would need a new subfloor so that was factored into the quote. What these idiots didn't do was measure the amount of flooring needed and installed a single sheet of 1/4 inch when 3/4 inch was needed, so now the floor they installed sits a noticeable half inch lower than the rest of my floor with huge gaps under the trim. On top of that they didn't bring enough quarter round to finish the job.
When questioned about why more floor wasn't added their response was "you didn't pay for more floor". These idiots have the absolute nerve to blame the homeowner for their installers' screw up and dodge our calls for resolution, claiming, "We can't do a chargeback" because we signed a "contract" which also states they need to come to an agreement with us with fixing any screw ups before we go the legal route. Well it's been 3 weeks and they aren't offering any resolution, or even affording us a call back, so we are going the chargeback route, along with contacting the BBB and the AG.

I was promised delivery in 2-6 weeks. 13 weeks went by, I called the customer service department multiple times to inquire about my order with little or no response. Finally on August 18th the order arrived. The installer delivered the blinds and started the install. I noticed that the blind for my front door was the wrong color after it was already hung. When we called them they said their system made a mistake and now it is scheduled for 10/20/2020. They come to install and now they don't have enough carpet. Installer says he is short by 20 feet. And they don't have more of the same carpet at warehouse. That means now I have to pick another carpet and reschedule another delivery date. I have elderly parents in 80s whom I had to send to my sister house so they could install carpet. They have already vacated all furniture from bedroom and now I or my 3 children won't have a bed to sleep till this is taken care off. They have no courtesy and horrible customer service. I've used Empire once before to put in laminate on the first floor of my home. I had no problems with the first time I used them but this time the financing was a disaster. The salesman was the same man who came the first time, super nice and knowledgeable. The installer who came was awesome as well. He discovered a problem with the leveling on my second-floor hallway and did what needed to be done to correct the issue so that my new flooring could be installed correctly. Great guy. However, when it came to the financing I was screwed. I told the salesman to put it all on the account from Synchrony from the first time which had the full available balance.
On the day of install, the installer came and told me that the full balance was due and I told him that it was being financed on the Synchrony card. The work was completed. I received a call a couple of days later from the Houston office stating the financing didn't go through because there was no available credit. I checked my account and it said differently. The next day, she called back and said that they still didn't approve of the financing. I told her to check again since there was still a credit line of $2,000. She called the following day to say that Synchrony wanted me to call them. Come to find out, Empire preauthorized $1,350 the day before the install and then didn't push the authorization through after the install.
Two days after the install, they charged my account $638. They told me that I was going to pay the remainder at the time of install, which I clearly did not say I would do. I apparently said this even though they had already preauthorized the full amount. At this point, I immediately locked down my Synchrony account, which Synchrony ignored. After 4 days of ignored emails and phone calls from the Houston office, they called me and said that the $638 was refunded back and the original $1,350 was charged. My account doesn't currently reflect that, however. My question as to why the preauthorization was not pushed through and why $638 was charged in place of it was still met with lies and bull. No explanations. Just, "Here, have a nice day." Screw Empire Today. Never use this company if you value your money and credit.

We signed a contract saying that the flooring would be done in 2 days. The contractors arrived very late each day and only worked 3 or 4 hours a day. We had to chase them up every day to find out where they were. Empire's contractors are extremely unreliable. They don't answer the phone and don't have a strong work ethic. Our tiny one bedroom apartment in San Francisco took 7 days to complete the work even though we signed a contract saying 2 days. They also didn't have the right supplies and had to make extra trips to their warehouse. A most unreliable service. Go elsewhere for your flooring! It was an exhausting experience.

I ordered a carpet from Empire last week, and arranged installation for today (17 Oct. 2020). The salesman was professional and accommodating. Empire called me no fewer than 3 times during the week to confirm the appointment and to ensure my household was COVID free. My window for today’s installation was between 8 am and 6 pm. At 1:30 I received a voice mail message from Empire telling me I had to reschedule the installation. I called numerous times and was unable to reach anyone in sales, customer service or installations to get an explanation.
Finally After 5 calls and 2 hours on the phone I reached someone who told me the appointment was cancelled because Empire did not have any installers available. I waited 5 HOURS to learn this? And they could offer no recourse but to reschedule for sometime next week — no promises when, though. So much for customer service and next day installation. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Horrible experience. I will gladly pay more money for another, more reliable company's carpeting services.

I chose Empire because they could do the job fast. I had a vinyl flooring installed in a guest house. I was out of town during the installation. I called the sales person and informed them I was not happy with a dip or pocket in a walkway that I felt should have been leveled during installation. I was informed that I was too picky. I called the office to open a claim and sent in pictures, after a few weeks I was informed that I had not paid for a level floor installation. The other quotes that I received all included the floor being installed level and were within a few dollars either side of Empire’s price. I am not happy with the installation. While the flooring has only been down for less than a month and walked on a few times I can not comment on the product ware. I have my doubts about the company and products.

I bought a newly built home in April and to keep the cost low decided I would do the floors later. I contact Empire Today because they had a sale. The consultation went fine and we scheduled to do the install on 7/30 and 7/31. On 7/30 a man and what looked to be his under-aged son arrived at my home to do the job. Neither spoke english which limited our ability to communicate which directions we would want the floors or anything else. Halfway through the day the older guy said "no more floor, will come back." (They had run our of material). From that day no one called or emailed to follow up with what would happened. I called Empire and they said someone would call me with 48 hrs.
This happened 3 times. I never got a call or voicemail. The contract give them some odd 20 days to complete the job, this didn't happen. I eventually had to call Simas to remove the half laid floors so that I could make my home presentable again, this cost me $400. So at this point the carpet is gone, I'm out of money, and no one has called. I called them again Saturday 9/19 asking where I could drop off the floors I had to have removed. The customer service person told me there was nowhere to drop off the floors and that someone would call me (surprise). At this point, I want my deposit back and feel I should be reimbursed for the floors I had to have removed. I have never been handled so poorly by a company. Now I understand why they've been sued in the past and why they had to change their name. Just awful.

The turn around time was extremely important for because of everything we have scheduled. Well, the Friday before our install we are told that someone did not process the paper work and we NEED to wait until Tuesday. Then told/asked for us to wait to put our house on the market?! Yes, excuse me, since the company can not do their job we are told to put our lives on hold!?. They said they were doing everything they could which is a lie! Mind you, no one cares that there is a cost on our end and affecting our bottom line, there are things scheduled and contracts we can not go back on. Ridiculous! Contacted multiple people and all said there was nothing they could do. So we have to pay since someone can not do their job.

We had carpet installed June 15th 2020. The installers ran out of carpet and called other people over to “piece together” fragments of carpet because they wanted to finish in one day. You can see all the seams in every room. We called the same week the carpet was installed to complain about the seams. I vacuumed the carpet one time and the edges where 2 of the seams were, came up and frayed at the edges (creating a hole in the floor). Empire Today had told us the install would take 2 days originally but they wanted to finish in 1 day. Since June, we had someone come over to our house to “fix” the seams, we had an installation manager out to the house and he even said we should not be able to see the seams. It is now, September 2020, and 3 months have passed and still no solution to the problem.
Empire Today is now saying that WE caused the problem with the carpet (unusual wear and tear) and they will not give us a rebate or discount or anything on the $8,900 of money we spent on carpet. It seems their tactic is this: Delay, delay, delay doing anything to help the customer, and then when too much time has passed-tell the customer that they caused the problem. When, indeed, the problem started at installation. They do not stand behind their one year warranty-it’s just a ploy to they use to sell people more carpet. I would love to say they have rectified the problem. But they have not.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH EMPIRE CARPET. I have no reason to write this review other than to warn other customers who might be lured into spending a lot of money. When you have a problem, they will not answer their phones, they will not give you any money back for mistakes they have made, they will not fix or change the carpet (the supplier actually DCd this kind of carpet we bought); you’ll be lucky if they ever even call you back.

I purchased flooring in the amount of $3,052 and paid a $765 deposit in late February 2020. Covid19 came, EMPIRE had difficulty meeting the initial installation date, and I agreed to postpone installation. Covid19 then affected me financially and I continued postponing the installation date to the point when I decided in mid September 2020 that my best option was to cancel the purchase. At that point, EMPIRE upheld the 15% penalty fee for canceling the order, not caring about the dire conditions cast by the pandemic and my history as an old client. Shame on you, EMPIRE!

Note: Empire Today erases all of its negative reviews on Social Media and online if they can. The common response is "please contact us and we will look into it," or "someone will be contacting you soon." They NEVER do. This is a very detailed interaction. You also can never file a complaint with their office and there is no dispute resolution. If you call the corporate office you will be required to have an extension to reach someone but customer service will not give you that extension. So you cannot go up the ladder. You are stuck.
If I could give this review a NEGATIVE FIVE I would. Poor quality carpet, always sales consultant, no follow through, installation was bad (only realized it after a few days), and once they get your money you can forget about them honoring what their salespeople or managers promised. The rating is an A+ but only because the BBB does not take reviews into account. The only requirement I wanted and stated from the very first call of making my appointment to the sales rep was a carpet that would show no lines and no foot traffic. It was THE MOST IMPORTANT item and I was promised to get it. Instead I got a carpet that shows all the traffic and I have more work to do around the house. I chose Empire after looking for carpet for months.
The experience has been the worst regarding their sales representative Coleton, their customer service member Christian, their manager Caitlyn, and her assistant Shay. Coletan called me to say he would be to our appointment in 20 minutes. An hour later I called him to ask where he was. He said 5 minutes away. He finally arrives 40 minutes later explaining that he was closing on a new home and his realtor called about a problem. At first we turned him away, but since he was there already we decided to let him come in. HUGE MISTAKE. He showed me 3 samples. We picked a color we like and Coleton guaranteed it would not show lines or traffic. I ran my hands across the sample I did not see any. We were satisfied.
Later he said that he had more samples usually but they were at home packed in boxes. I thought what we got was a good price, $2700, and I liked the color so we were fine. Installation day. I was asked to confirm that the installers had the carpet I picked. It was rolled up but it was the right color and carpet. Christian called to ask me how installation was going. I explained they hadn't not started installing yet, only tearing up. She told me to call back to the number she called me from if there were any problems. We waited in the car since there was nowhere to sit in the house. I checked on the progress and saw that the carpet had their footprints. One guy was in the living room working and only half the carpet was laid.
I IMMEDIATELY called Christian at the number she gave me 4 times. No one ever picked up. I called and left a voicemail that there was a problem. My installation was a Saturday. She called me back on the following Tuesday. I explained the problem. She said a manager would call me. End of week and still no call. I called back again and explained the situation. Caitlyn finally called. I explained the problem. She offered me to get another carpet type and to pay for it but I would get a 50% discount. I would still owe the $2700 from the first installation. She went on to explain all of the things that the sales person should have explained, even telling me I should have went with a Berber carpet.
That was never an option offered. Then we discussed giving me a discount on the carpet that I already had. She said she would call me in two days to inform what discount I could get. She never called. I responded to the survey Empire sent via email and a man called me. I explained the problem and he said that he would have the manager call me. Instead she had her assistant Shay call me. Shay made me feel hope again. She apologized and told me that I did everything that I was supposed to do. She said that they have been short staffed and that was why no one answered the phones on the day of installation.
She said that normally the policy is to allow the customer to change the carpet but get a 50% discount but in my case it was not my fault and I would have no way of knowing the carpet would show lines because the sales person said it wouldn't, the sample didn't show it, and then no one answered my call when I tried to fix it. She scheduled an appointment for an inspector to come back and look over everything and find a solution. She said the manager would be calling me to make everything right. That was a Friday. On Monday Shay called completely different attitude and told me there was nothing they would do because I signed a contract and agreed to the carpet and I should've stopped the installation in progress even though no one answered the phones.
She said someone would have eventually contacted me to pick out new carpet but she did not know how long it would take. Meanwhile, I would have been in my house with exposed nails, subflooring and cement. I explained that Caitlyn promised to discount my carpet but Shay said that Caitlyn never told her that and she would check with her. I asked her to have Caitlyn call me back. She never did. Today I received a call from Shay telling me that I owe the full amount and I could pay to choose between the two Berber options they had, but it nothing would be done from Empire. I have attempted to reach corporate, I have filed a complaint with the BBB, I have disputed the amount on my card. No result.

Original Review: Had my LVP installed in May 2016. Last month I noticed buckling of the floors (less than 4 years of light use). Contacted customer service support and was advised that it will be $100 for them to come over and evaluate what was wrong. After evaluation, I was advised that although couple of planks needed to be replaced due to product issue, but since it was 4 years, they will have to redo the whole room for the discounted price of $700. A little prior me noticing it, I had the adjacent room remodeled with using Empire Today as well.
One of the installers asked me whether the floors of the room in question were installed by ET. I said yes, and he never said anything, but now I realize that he has seen the issue and failed to tell me the truth. Highly disappointed in how they treat repeat customers. The room is not very big. I paid $1,200 in May 2016, and now I have to pay another $700. Poor practice, dishonest treatment. PS: at some point representative responded to my concern that installation warranty is only one year... "We have to take our of our installers". And all those years I thought it was all about customers.

Unfortunately, I wasn't there when they were finished and within an hour of their departure, I noticed a piece of the wooden floor was chipped in the living room. I called immediately and I called and I called and I called. I even called the Salesperson. No response to my problem and still have not heard from them concerning standing by their product. The installers also left materials on our patio for us to clean up. The floors are beautiful except for the problem. I really can't believe they will not stand by their product. I had my floors done by Empire in 2018 and the installation went real good. The sales person that came out started off with the price way too high but then when I told them I wasn’t interested magically the price came down a whole $7000.00 which was such a joke to begin with but I went for it anyway. Here’s the problem I want everyone to understand. I had a dishwasher leak that damaged some of the laminate flooring planks in front of the dishwasher so I called Empire to get a price on repair. I talked to a customer rep that told me to just email them pictures of the damage. I then received a call back saying, "You need the whole floor replaced" and it’s going to cost big $$$$.
I told the customer rep that it’s not necessary to replace the whole floor and she said, "Ohhhh ok, I’ll have to go back to see what we can do." Well folks, that’s where it all ended because now, no one emails you back, calls you back or even wants anything to do with you. So it’s very simple, after the sale you are nothing to them, once it’s installed it’s your problem and if it gets damaged you are screwed because the materials/products they sell are their own and you can’t buy them anywhere else. Just be aware that this company and their deals are all meant for a one time sale and then, you're tossed in the trash. Trust me.

If I could 0 stars I would! I just had LVP vinyl planking installed last month. It has now scratches everywhere. But there not real scratches. It's a layer of vinyl that's rubbing off to look like scratches. They've sent 1 contractor to my home to inspect. She said they were defective. Then they lied and said she didn't say that. Then they sent out their install manager, and he said they shouldn't be doing that. So I called today and manager said he didn't say that. They keep putting down on paper work that I used wood polish. Which I have never said. They do that to make it seem like I did something wrong. I have never polished anything in my life.
For them to continue deflect blame on me is unprofessional and wrong. Now I have superficial scratches all over and at first they blamed the manufacturer now there saying there scratches. Even though install manager said more than once in front of my entire family this floor isn't holding up to standard. Their resolution is for me to pay for new flooring and pay them to reinstall it. This company will play games and over promise and under deliver. Now I have dispute $10,800 in charges with my credit card company. They also flip flop from corporate to local level for responsibility. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF A HEADACHE! DONT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!

Apparently samples brought to your home are treated differently (like with Scotch Guard) so they are of higher quality than what you get installed according to the representative of my case. These samples have more treatment so they can withstand going home to home and not deteriorate in quality. Apparently this is why the sample you order off of does not match the final product’s quality you received.
On Saturday, August 1 we had a sales representative from the Empire flooring come to our home with samples. When he asked what kind of carpet we were interested in I specifically stated a certain type of carpet that we had in our previous home that we loved and we would like in this home as well. It was BLISS by Beaulieu, which when liquid was poured upon it, the liquid would pool and not absorb into the carpet. We have a dog with illness who has lots of accidents and a toddler who spills. That was the only way I was interested in getting any carpet at all if there was something that did that.
Our sales representative was absolutely wonderful and we had a great experience with him. He knew exactly what I was talking about and I even showed him screenshots from pictures that I took of the carpet we had in our previous home so he knew exactly what I was looking for. He brought us a sample book and told us he has had customers pour coffee over his samples to prove how they repel liquid. My husband proceeded to fill a glass of water from our kitchen and throw it on the sample where it immediately beat it and fell to the floor. No liquid stayed on top of the carpet. We were absolutely thrilled so we decided to put this carpet in our living room and loft area, going with a different kind of carpeting in all of our bedrooms, we were just so thrilled with the products on the sample boards we decided to re-carpet our entire house.
On the day of installation the installers did a great job. The numbers on my contract and names of the carpet all matched the information they had. But I noticed when looking into a bedroom off of the living room that the living room carpet felt very differently than the sample board they had just brought it in but it wasn’t lay down yet so I didn’t think much of it. A short while later the installers took a break for lunch and I checked the progress. The living room carpeting was installed but it just did not feel right at all. I got a glass of water and put some on the carpeting and it’s soaked in immediately like a sponge, I was horrified!
I immediately called my sales rep and left him a message. He called me back a short time later and was very surprised. He was going to call the insulation manager and I would get a phone call back in a little while so they could figure out what was going on. The installers went upstairs to continue working as there were still three bedrooms to be done and I waited a phone call that never came.
The following day our sales rep was surprised we have not received a call and he would try getting in contact with who needed to be talked to about this manner. I received a phone call and tried to explain the situation to the lady on the phone but she kept thinking there was water damage to the carpet and couldn’t understand what I was trying to get across. The following day our wonderful sales rep came back to our home with his sample board and he and I proceeded to keep testing the sample board versus the carpet that was laid down. He told us he had customers with that carpet installed over 100 times and it’s never felt so firm to walk on, especially being that it’s not on a concrete slab.
We poured water together on the sample pad and on the flooring, the sample pad had the water bead on it and pull up while my carpeting absorbed immediately upon contact. We were able to get an inspection scheduled and our installer left his sample book with us so I could prove my point because he thought the carpeting was defective. The inspector was also wonderful, I showed him videos and photos on my phone and showed him the sample board laying in my kitchen with water beaded on it. He asked me to email him the video that I have but unfortunately his email address would not work.
The company stands by the fact that after their own investigation the carpeting is not defective and that sample boards are treated so they have a longer lifespan when brought into customers homes so they have more product built up on them so technically the quality of the product on the sample board is not exactly the quality of carpeting that is installed.
We now have two rooms of carpet that do not function as promised via the samples provided, and the company said the only thing that can be done is we pay for the carpet we have and they will give us 40% off new carpet as well. I will never purchase carpet based on a sample board again because the sample board was admittedly treated so it is different quality than the carpet installed. I cannot believe it is OK to sell products that cost thousands of dollars to consumers that are a different quality than promised. They told us because the carpet is installed there’s nothing they can do about it even though I was making phone calls during the installation process that something was not right and no one got back to me.
Now, I’m the owner of new carpeting in two rooms that I desperately regret purchasing. I do not by any means agree that the work is substantially complete because the material installed is not functional as intended. Bringing a sample into a customers home that is not the quality of the final product and that does not do what is shown per the sample, and having the final product not be of the same quality is false advertising.
Amy, we're disappointed to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We'll be in touch with you soon to further discuss your concerns.

We will NEVER AGAIN use or recommend Empire Today for any future projects. Henry B the sales rep for Empire was prompt for our Monday morning appointment. He explained the process and we signed an agreement to purchase carpet and padding for 3 rooms of a small apartment. We asked if the installer trimmed doors if needed and he said yes however there would be an additional charge. Because we do not live in the same town as the apartment we requested a morning installation for the following Monday a FULL week away.
The morning of the installation Empire called to inform us that the installation would be pushed back to SOMETIME in the afternoon. Unfortunately we were already on our way to the apartment believing Empire would honor the requested install time as noted on our sales agreement. Not surprisingly a call to Henry B went unanswered. After a couple of more calls to Empire we were told the installer would contact us approximately 1 hour before his arrival. The installer arrived at 2:30 in the afternoon. Three hours later the installation was complete. To be fair the rugs looked good and the installer cleaned up the 3 rooms quite well. However, when asked if he would trim the doors we were told NO. He did not have the equipment.
Empire Today FAILED to honor our request for an early installation even though the installation date was set for a week out. Henry B our salesman did not bother to return our numerous calls until late the next afternoon claiming the scheduling issue was not his responsibility. His reason for not returning our calls was that he was very busy with appointments. He also said that he was not aware the installer had to be told prior to the installation that doors may need to be adjusted. Once the sale is made Customer Service was NOT a high priority for Henry or Empire Today. No effort was made to accommodate, inform or follow up with us. Empire Today? I don't think so.

Updated on 08/23/2020: I posted a review before and received what I can only imagine was an automated response with no intention of. I was contacted by my representative who stated the install manager George was upset with me and was ignoring my phone calls. Highly unprofessional considering this was his problem not mine. Extremely dissatisfied.
Original Review: Highly dissatisfied with the installation. The truck broke down and I was contacted by the installer who arrived to my residence on foot and did not provide any identification. The installer started pulling up carpet to survey the kind of work that needed to be done. After that the installer stated the truck is not working so they could not install the carpet that day. Extremely upset considering all of our bedroom furniture from three bedrooms was in my living room and kitchen. The installer stated I would have to make another appointment. It was finally decided that the work would be completed the next day.
The install manager George was supposed to call me back on Monday. I did not receive a call so I called George and did not receive an answer so I left a message asking George to call me back. I never received a call back nor did I receive a bill for my final amount I found out the price I was charged by looking at my credit report. I will continue to post negative remarks about this company. They are not professional and they don't care about their customers. No one I know and am friends with will use Empire Today for their flooring needs.

Damage to our wall when the carpet was installed and the salesperson was not knowledgeable enough to know we had asbestos flooring down in our laundry room and that had to be removed first by a licensed abatement company. We now have to pay an additional $1400 for the removal. When we called them, the person we spoke with was very rude. We cancelled our order and got our deposit back. Back in May I decided to have my flooring done since my rug was old. I have been saving up for new floors for almost 5 years. Little I know that I would be paying $2,167 for work that was never going to be done. I was given a contract to sign for almost $9,000 which was a high number for me but it was in my max range and I could afford it and. The mistake I made was signing the contract. The salesperson told me that they have no availability until 1 week later from the date I sign the contract to install the floors.
The day of installation the salesperson came back to me and said well you have to pay an additional $4,000. I was shocked because there was is no way I can afford an additional $4k. I told him that and he pretty much said too bad. I told him I cannot have the work done since it's a huge increase. Empire response was too bad then you signed the contract. They are still giving me a difficult time to return my $2,167. I'm getting sick over it because I work really hard for my money and to to just give it away while nothing was done is quite depressing. They make these contracts so that they can keep your money even if they messed up. Please be aware of their contract. Empire Today please return back my money and please do more accurate estimate before having a contract sign.

I wish I hadn’t used this company. They came out and did the floors fast, that was great, except there were some areas that were dinged up so they came out a week later to fix. That part we were happy with. Unfortunately they had cut some of the floorboards too short so slowly they have been making a gap near the wall. I have been calling every week for months. Every time I was told the person working on our account wasn’t in the office or wasn’t available and that no one else would be able to help us. I have been on the phone over 50 times with this company.
This has been going on for months. Finally I have been able to reach a person named Katherine, who stated they won’t sent anyone out unless we pay for it so that’s what we’re doing now (even though initially 4 months ago I was told they would send someone as soon as the company opened up from the COVID-19 pandemic... (I guess that was another lie). I am so disappointed in this company and the runabout we’ve been getting for months. We were going to use them for the other flooring that we want to do but now we will have to find a different company who stands by their product instead.

I chose my carpet, made the install date, they called to confirm and no one showed up as my carpet was not ready. I could wait a few weeks or pick another color, which I did. After an all day install We thought all was ok. When vacuuming the next day to pick carpet fuzz and backing pieces, left behind by installers, this is when these snags happened. The stairs was the first place we noticed. I wanted a very strong and wearable carpet because of the stairs and wear places from walking. I had 2 different salespeople tell me how good this carpet is for that.
I call service to schedule a repair and to check the lump where the seam in the master. She argue with me about the stairs saying it’s my fault and has to get it approved and that I would have to pay for repair. After this was resolved, When they finally came They hammered the heck out of the bedroom with no results, said it could take 4-5 weeks to lay down and replaced the stairs carpet.
I had also had another service call after more arguments with service, showed them the front bedroom under the bed where there was snag and pulled it and now we have a 8-10 inch run. He said he would recommend replacing front bedroom and waiting on master. When service called to check what he had done, she said there was no notes on replacing. We again called customer service told them and he said he would put it in the system. The customer repair service called today and told me I have to pay for the replacement carpet which is 6 weeks and in a guest room and wait on master. What happened to the 10 yr warranty? This carpet was installed on June 25 ‘20 and I’m still getting the runaround.

This is my second time using Empire Today. The sales rep showed up 50 minutes late for a two hour window appointment. Then blamed it on the department that sends him where he is going. I had specifically said on my reservation for an appointment to send someone who isnt afraid of dogs. This gentleman was so afraid of dogs he asked my kids and myself several times if my dog was going to get him (had my dogs contained in the back yard the entire time). Everything I ask of him seemed to be a hassle. I asked to see more colors of carpet, he was put out. I asked for two quotes - one for the carpet special they had running and one with better grade carpeting. He went and measured the rooms with a digital laser (not much work). Three small bedrooms a total of 423sq ft.
He gave me the first quote and it was more than I could afford, so I asked him to give me a price just for the two rooms and not three. This upset him because he now had to remove what he had already put in the computer to get me a new price. He never gave me an estimate for the lower grade carpet like I asked. He then quoted me a price for the two rooms after I told him I couldn't afford what he quoted for 3 rooms. The price was $700 less for two rooms! So in a weakened state I said yes.
After he left I talked to my husband and decided to call around. I found a better price and amazing customer service. So Saturday I called to cancel my order, I spoke to a sweet lady who got my info and ask to me to hold on while she connects me to a different department. I was on hold for about 10 minutes (give or take). The man that came on the phone after that was rude. When he asked why I was canceling I shared the above story. His answer to me was, "Well we've been in business for over 60 years. Obviously we are doing something right." I was shocked.
He then proceeded to ask me who and where I found cheaper carpet and install, before I could answer he was like, "It must be a friend or someone you know." He then asked me why I said yes and put a deposit down in the first place. I told him honestly I said yes to get the man out of my home, I wasn't feeling comfortable because everything I asked of him was such an issue. I had asked prior if I gave a deposit if I could cancel. He told me I had 3 business days. He then went on to ask me, "Well did you feel threatened by the sales person." I answered no just uncomfortable. I asked to speak to his manager and he said, "No there is no one here for you to talk to, you'll have to call back Monday." Honestly, I felt like a piece of crap after I got off the phone. Not even an apology.

It took about 2 weeks and my home was tore up and dusty. They did not show up the day and time they were suppose to. Floor was expensive. Looked great when finished. This was approx. 2 years ago. I noticed one section of the hickory hardwood pulling away and there leaving an inch spacing between the boards. I called and put in a service ticket. Was told someone would contact me within 2-3 business days.
When they called back the number comes up unavailable. It went right to my voicemail. The person left a message telling me to call back and dial ext 2. I've tried about 10 times and get the voicemail. I've left multiple messages with no return call. I've tried a different number twice and spoke with someone who said they would leave a message with the repair manager. I've gotten one call back again. They let my phone ring once. I've tried the number again with the voicemail and again no return call. They say there is a warranty on the floor. But if you call for any repairs don't expect to be able to get this solved or be able to speak with someone. I spent 11k on this flooring and expect a call back. Horrible customer service.

That morning, AFTER our appointment should have started, they called and said they couldn't make it because of low inventory. How did they not know this until AFTER our appointment time??? We called and called to complain, and were once told we would be compensated for living this way while we wait, but we are just now, the night before the reschedule, being told we will receive nothing. I scheduled an estimate for my basement and stairs to be carpeted. An Empire Today sales rep came to our home with samples and provided a price estimate after walking through our basement. She was very nice and professional during this appointment and answered all of our questions/concerns. During the price review, she indicated that our basement could not be carpeted as is; our basement has tile, which she indicated could not be carpeted over without either ripping up the tile or pouring a solution over it to fill the grout lines. She informed us that laying carpet without doing either option would void the carpet warranty through Empire Today. Our stairs were also in bad shape (laminate steps that were coming apart at the ends) and she told us that the installation job would include repairing the steps to "make it safer for our child".
We agreed to the price estimate (which was about double the home depot quote), specifically for the repair of the stairs. Upon arrival of the installation crew, they began putting down tack strips directly to the tile. I informed them that the sales rep said the warranty would not be valid if the carpet was placed directly over the tile and they were confused and not aware of this. They also were not aware of any plans to repair the stairs, commenting that they only lay carpet on the existing subfloor; any repair is done prior to their arrival. I was unable to continue with the install and contacted Empire customer support, where I was told an installation manager would reach out within 24 hours. After waiting 24 hours without a call, I contacted the call center and spoke to a manager there. The manager, Evette, was the only person that actually seemed interested in helping me and continually attempted to reach the Baltimore installation managers with no success.
Throughout this, I received a call and text from the original sales rep, where she continually told me that she did not say what I was claiming and asked if I just wanted to cancel since there was "a communication issue". The final correspondence I received was informing me that they were rescheduling the install crew to come a week later and that they would level my floors "at no additional cost" even though this was already part of the agreement. The lack of communication from the regional management office and constant disregard for the original expectations is completely unprofessional, and makes me feel that my money was just another drop in their bucket. I will never use or recommend Empire Today again.

It took 3 separate attempts to get an appointment as the first two never showed up - 2 separate 2 hour windows of time wasted for nothing - plus hours spent with customer service trying to figure out why nobody would show up. We were even offered $150 off for our troubles. Salesperson showed up on 3rd attempt, we agreed to a purchase, including fixing the hardware floor in our bedroom that wasn't installed correctly the first time. We agreed to a price, installer showed up saying the sales rep's measurements were way off and didn't have enough supplies to complete the job. The rep didn't call until the day after to tell me he heard there was an issue with the hardwood floor installation and if I still wanted it done. Of course I did, but rather than honor the price we agreed to, it increased +66%.
While I questioned the ethics of the surprising last minute cost increase of +66%, the sales rep, Jeff **, got defensive, threatened to be done with us as a customer, claimed to elevate to management, who have been completely unresponsive. Continued conversations with customer services provided a lot of promises and zero action. Empire has our money and won't confirm if/when the rest of the products we purchased will be installed. Mr. ** will take no responsibility and apparently nobody else will at Empire. All we ask if for the products and services we agreed to and paid for are completed - still waiting.
I have little confidence of a resolution as nobody with authority to resolve this apparently has no desire to do so. I have no problem with mistakes, it's how a mistake is handled and Empire has earned an F in this department. Maybe too late for me and my family but a cautionary tale for everyone else - be sure to consider other options before final purchasing decision, I don't wish the Empire vortex of customer service hell on anyone!!!

I read all of the reviews and was really afraid to use Empire. However my experience is nothing like the reviews. They are a little on the expensive side. However, it was seamless. They installed in one day rather than 2 as originally estimated. After the installation, there were some tacks I could feel walking on the carpet. I called the service number, received a call back the same day after they opened a ticket and they had the original installer scheduled to come out in 2 days to do the repairs. The original installer came out and hammered down all the tack strips to ensure there were no tacks poking through. I am extremely happy with the installation and the quick response for the repair request. The only reason I gave 4 stars rather than 5 is the price. It would be nice if they were a little more economical or if the salesperson showed more samples -- they do tend to come out with 5 or 6 and try to steer you towards one of those.

I've purchased flooring from Empire twice. First was carpet, which lasted about a year before it started looking aged and started pulling up from the floor. Blaming it on children and an active household, I foolishly went back to Empire when it was time to replace the floors again. The sales reps were nice, but ill-informed. They showed me products that were no longer available, and didn't seem to have the answers to my questions about others. Ultimately, they assured me the flooring I'd picked out was durable and offered guarantees to ensure it wouldn't tear up. I was specifically told it was build to withstand children and pets. A week later it was installed by a great team who worked quickly and thoroughly. The new floors looked like a million bucks.
Cut to three weeks later when there are gouges in these allegedly "tough" floors. It took me two days to get a customer service agent on the phone, and then a week longer before the appropriate person could call me back. A week later they send someone out, and they stain over the gouges so it's "good as new." The lady calls to follow up and explains to me that the damage to the floors is "normal wear and tear" and not covered by any policies. She tells me she is in no way responsible for any promises made by the sales team. She tells me the contractor repaired the floor as a "one-time courtesy" and that I should not expect that to happen again. These floors were expensive but are cheaply made. Management offers no warranties or guarantees, and are quick to blame the customer for their shotty materials. I would never purchase from them again, and I would not recommend them to anyone else. What a scam.

It is extremely rare that I take time to document a complaint. This is one. The Empire Today installer was there to install my kitchen floor. He started removing the original linoleum and came upon a section, under the linoleum, by the garage entry door that had either old termite or water damage. He took pictures, saying he needed his bosses approval to continue. He checked the moisture level saying it was too high and that I needed to have the subfloor repaired before work could continue. I immediately searched online for a subcontractor and luckily found one who came right over. He found the damage was only to the Luwan wood and not the subfloor. They talked and agreed it was not a real problem. The Empire Today installer said he could resume installation another day if his boss approved.
Evidently the boss did not approve because a few days later Empire Today called two different times to verify the subfloor work was completed and that they would not complete the installation otherwise. When the subcontractor was at my home, he gave me a couple of estimates depending on what was found pending further inspection. My kitchen was in a mess and already contractually obligated to Empire Today so I had to comply with their demands to repair the subfloor. I contacted Orkin for termite service. No termites found. No moisture under the house either. I then had the subfloor contractor to return. He cut out and replaced the section of luwan wood that was in question. Only that section was replaced. Subfloor is level. No issues. The cost of the subfloor repair was $250.
When the Empire Today installer returned he resumed removing the linoleum. As they were doing so the 19 year old linoleum, in a different section of the kitchen, stuck to some of the original luwan wood. The Empire Today installer then says he has to remove all the luwan wood including the section just replaced by the subcontractor. Otherwise the floor would obviously be unlevel. Now the repair for $250 is wasted money. Empire Today could have just removed all the luwan wood and installed the their flooring over my subfloor from the start. To summarize - Empire Today demanded repairs be made. I paid $250 for repairs. Empire then removed the repaired section. Empire Today then installed the new flooring.
After explaining what occurred to a member of their management he agreed to refund the $250. A couple weeks later and I haven't heard from them. I reinitiate contact. A different member of their management calls and says the installer and the district (I think) manager denied my claim. They lied stating that they only wanted me to have a termite inspection.
That makes no sense for several reasons. (1) The subcontractor is not a termite company. They had demanded the subcontractor complete FLOORING work. I brought in Orkin as an extra precaution. That is why I am NOT asking for the expensive Orkin service be reimbursed. (2) They lied claiming that they were going to remove the luwan wood anyway so the subcontractor repairs were not needed. They never said that. Again the general subcontractor doesn't do termite protection. Both calls made to me demanded that the subcontractor flooring work be completed before Empire Today would resume installation of the flooring. Now after doing all that was demanded of me Empire Today refuses to reimburse me for the unnecessary subcontractor work that THEY demanded previously.
The total for all my flooring was $6150. Yet Empire Today refuses to reimburse the $250 additional that they had previously demanded. English was obviously not the primary language of the Empire Today installer. So either dishonesty or miscommunication between the installer and management of Empire Today occurred. Either way I am owed $250. What a dishonorable and cheapskate way for a company to operate.

With popping and snapping problems still ongoing, other Empire reps came to review the problems... all agreed we had flooring problems but no one has resolved these problems.
We have even had service managers come to our residents, agree with the problems, take pictures etc, but no resolution in over four years. Where does the buck stop!? Some have suggested the wood floor material could be the problem and I have asked for them to be totally replaced... BUT, Empire doesn't offer this high-end laminate floor anymore. I wonder why!!?? We are senior citizens and on limited income and cannot afford to replace these floors. We believe Empire is still responsible for replacing these substandard floors.

The work included tile work, which they have very few capable installers, so that is why it was scheduled so far out. The Friday before my install was to occur, Empire called me to cancel due to covid-19 issues. We rescheduled AGAIN for two weeks later. As we came closer to the install date, Empire called again to cancel! At that point, I asked for a refund of my deposit. At the time I wasn’t really angry, but thought I could have more success with a local company. I was told it would take up to two weeks to have my deposit credited to my account. Funny, it took less than 20 minutes for them to take the money! I waited more than two weeks and noticed my account was not credited.
I called Empire and the first rep hung up on me. I called right back and got a much nicer rep who saw that I was correct and hadn’t been issued a refund. He called the regional office and issued “a ticket” for an investigation and assured someone would call within 24hrs. Guess what? No one called, so I called again. The next rep said that she left a voicemail for the person who was handling “the ticket” and that was all she could do. I have not heard from this unknown person, nor have I been refunded my deposit. I decided to give them a chance to redeem themselves after I had put up a bad review and they reached out to me. After waiting all morning for a call about the time they would be there and not receiving one they showed up at 2:30. The installer said it was too large a job for Saturday at 2:30 pm so he wouldn't be able to get it done then and needed to set it up for Monday at 5:30 pm. Very inconvenient since we had the house already dismantled so they could do the job but whatever. THEN ON MONDAY THEY NO SHOW. Original Review: 2 years ago I had my carpet installed Empire Flooring. All seemed well at the time and we were very happy with our carpet however just over a year after the carpet was installed we noticed puckering of the carpet. This progressed and is now present in multiple spots throughout the house. I called to see if we could have somebody come out and fix this problem and they have refused. As this continues to progress it not only looks bad but is now becoming a tripping hazard in our house. We are going to need to hire somebody to come stretch and re-staple the carpet. Not very fair after the amount of money we spent to have it installed the first time.

Had it set up for the 2 different colors and some carpeting for the stairs. We ended up finding hard wood under our stairs when we pulled the original carpet out so I canceled the carpeting.
Called salesman to have that canceled he says it’s good to go. All canceled BUT Never got refund!! I tried calling several times to get my $300 back to no avail. Always some excuse about no one in the office or no one in the finance department was answering the phone.. So I just gave up after the runaround and paid the original financed amount off.
The installers showed up on time day scheduled But when asked to see the second color of flooring they had no clue about the second color. Said the order only had one color on it. So after calling the sales guy he says he never measured one room. I told him to and he “forgot” about the second color of the order. So the installers had to measure the room I originally wanted added into the order. We get that all set up and set up a second day for installers to come back with the other color. (Which included a second day off of work for me.)
When they show up the second day for installation they hand me a bill for $1300 before they can do anything.. I had been approved for financing and that was supposed to be added to that. So after ANOTHER phone call to add that to financing.... ughhh we finally get the second color finished. But I live in a bi level house and where the footing for the banister is they supposedly couldn’t cover that so there’s no cover over that and when you walk in my front door the “edge” of the floor that comes out there and the top of my stairs only has a 1 inch cap on it which is half the size it should be.
When I called to find out why the right size isn’t on it I was told the manufacturer only makes the 1” size and I would have to fix all that stuff myself. The installers left his jacket here the first time they were here and the second time they left all of their paperwork here and I had to make another phone call for them to come back and pick it up. The flooring is supposedly indestructible but I pushed a mattress across the floor and it scratched. I pulled out my stove to clean behind that and it also scratched the floor. The customer service and the product are not all they say they are.

This was a purchase of $10k and they have no regard, no quality product, no customer service and are liars! Beware of this organization. Clearly they won’t be around long with the lack of product, disregard and service.
Original Review: I made the horrible mistake of purchasing Empire's Luxury Vinyl Flooring. The boards are separating and the T moldings coming up. I'm tripping in my house! When reported they would not get back. Finally scheduled and NO SHOW - $10,000 in floors. You can't even get a hold of them. When you write corporate they do not even reply!! Only way is say you want to buy and then they answer but of course cannot help you. I would NEVER recommend the product or the company and the customer service is deplorable.

I called to get new carpet. They showed up for my estimate. Jeff was who came and was very helpful and professional. When the day finally came for the carpet to be installed they called and had to cancel and reschedule. I was not happy but did for the next sat. Well the second appointment came up and they called and canceled again. I was very angry at that point and was told it would be done tue 6/16/2020. I had to pick a different color cause what I wanted was out of stock and not available at all. So Jeff came back out and I picked a different color. This morning the installer showed up. Walked into my home and looked like he had an attitude. He took pics and measured again. Then told me he had to call to find out how much carpet he needed. I did not understand that I thought he had it with him. Then came back in and told me he had breathing issues. We have pets and there are some stains by the door. He said he could not do the job.
Then I got a call for the installation coordinator Ahmed and told me if we rip the carpet up ourselfs then they will do the job. As I was on the phone with him the installer just left. At that point I asked to talk to a supervisor and wanted a refund of my deposit of $600. I was ignored so I had to call a different person Renee and she was very helpful and canceled my order and is processing my refund. While I was doing all that my husband was able to find a better company that will be out here today to help us out. (We told her we needed it done soon because of tenants moving in) She said 3 times “Just put your deposit down and you can cancel at anytime and get your money back no problem because it’s an in stock carpet.” So we found a better deal and called to cancel and they told us we can cancel but they won't give us our deposit back.
I spoke to many customer service reps and the manager and said they need to refund our deposit, they refused. I contact the sales rep and she tells me to just tell them we had an emergency and to cancel. I am not going to lie to get a deposit I gave with a promise. I could get my Money back no problem. The customer service is terrible. I contacted Empire Today to obtain an estimate to install laminate flooring in an apartment I own. The salesman arrived on time, showed us a selection of available flooring, and measured the two bedroom, two bath apartment. He calculated a price which we said was too high and thanked him for his time. He said he would contact his supervisor to see if he could get a lower price. He contacted us the next day and said he could reduce the price from around $4,700 to $3,900 if we committed right away.
We asked him to confirm that the material was in stock and find out when the installation could happen. He confirmed they had the material in stock and said they could come out in a day or two to do the install. We agreed. He said that we had to pay at least 25% before they could start the install. I had my IRA holder mail a check for the full amount $3,900 to Empire. They got the check and scheduled the install. He sent me a summary of the order after they received the check, and it only had one bedroom, and not two.
I called to correct the error and the salesman said he would look into it. The installers showed up and began the install when scheduled, but indicated they did not have enough material to finish the job, and they had only been told to do one bedroom. The salesman sent me a change order for $500 for the 2nd bedroom..half the apt was already done so I did not have an option. It then took a week and a half to get the rest of the material to install. It was bait and switch as far as I am concerned. They waited until they had my money and the install had already begun then they told me it would cost another $500.

EMPIRE CARPET IS POOR QUALITY--DO NOT BUY. It is not too often that I complain about a product but this complain is justified. I purchased carpet from Empire (the advertisement on TV). I am in real estate so I see lots of carpeting. I buy more than the average person, as well as, recommend companies to my clients. I have purchased and recommended Empire Carpet on a number of occasions. Recently, I noticed that carpet in 2 different properties that I had purchased (base quality and mid quality) had both developed wrinkles. Both are less than 4 years old. When I called to complain and simply ask that the carpet be re-stretched, I was informed that the warranty is only good for 1 year and I would have to pay to have this service completed. SO, the carpet Empire installs is of such POOR QUALITY that it stretches out in less that 4 years old. Hence, I am no longer buying or recommending EMPIRE Carpet.

The repaired section done by another outfit looks great and is very comfortable. The Empire installer that came out was working out of his car and had brought his wife along. Sorry to say, but I would NOT recommend Empire! I called to set up an in home visit and it took 2 phone calls to confirm after it was scheduled. Then the sales person showed up late (full of excuses). We went ahead and selected 2 types of flooring and signed the contract. Our installation was to take place in a month. Four days before the installation was to happen I started calling to confirm. Numerous time I was told someone would get back to me. The sales person would only reply via text and never took my calls.
Finally, after two days of calling I was told that I was not on the schedule and the install date would have to be moved (I was not happy). Then the day before the NEW install date I called AGAIN to confirm (multiple calls again). This time I was told I was on the schedule, but they could not confirm a time until the day of when the installer was assigned. The day of I waited until 10am and then started calling again. That is when I was told the product was not in stock!! (Again the salesperson was full of excuses). Once again, the install date was moved.
Now we were in a position of having to move in without the flooring being done. We were told that they could not get the product we originally selected and we had to make a second choice using pictures (OMG!). A full week later the floor was actually installed. One guy showed up to do the entire project, but he said he would be done by 5pm. Everything was going well until the end of the day when he started running behind. That is when short cuts started happening. The laminate floor trim turned out HORRIBLE and has to be redone! I am very disappoint with the outcome and totally wish we went a different direction.

We had trouble with the installation of the carpet. When the carpet installer first got here, the carpet wasn't cut right for our steps. So, they had to send it back out and get it re-cut. Our steps are totally carpet but the end of the steps about four inches or so are all finished wood. The carpet wasn't cut to deal with it so they had to take it back and send it back out.
When the guys came back with the carpet, there was the padding issue. I was on the phone with two different people and they kept saying that they wouldn't install it 'cause it wasn't covered under warranty. I told them that the salesman came over to the house and I told him that I wanted the carpet installed exactly the same way it was. Nobody ever said anything to me. Now they were telling me that they wouldn't install it with padding underneath it. I asked the supervisor for the installation where under the warranty that said anything about a tripping hazard. I told them that I didn't want thee carpet just laying on the steps 'cause it'd be harder than a rock.
I got a brand-new floor upstairs and I got this carpet right here. So I wasn't not canceling it. They had absolutely no problem with the laminate flooring upstairs. But it was only that little section of the carpet and the carpet around the steps where all the problems occurred. Eventually, the gentleman that was hired to install it came back. The carpet was cut right, he installed it, and everything was fine. They blamed it on the associate that was out at the house for not putting down the information.

Waste of $4,000. I had carpeting replaced in my living room/hallway several years ago. After about one year, I noticed "water marking" which essentially makes your carpet look like there's been a flood in your living room. I worked with the complaint department and complied with all requirements (proof of professional cleaning, examination of my vacuum cleaner, pictures, etc.) A company representative came to my home to see the carpet, take pictures, etc. I was told that this was "something that can happen, but is not a flaw in the carpet." So I now have to try selling my home with very expensive carpeting that looks water damaged. Are you kidding me? If there was a chance that my carpet was going to look like crap after one year, WHY WASN'T I TOLD? I will NEVER use Empire Carpet or any of their affiliates again.

If I got the flooring from one place that sells wood, the warranty would probably be voided if it was not installed correctly. So, I decided to go with Empire Today and know that their installers would be installing it and my warranty shouldn’t be a problem. I had two bedrooms done. I did the walkthrough and everything looked fine. A couple of hours after that, I noticed in my master bedroom that the threshold piece from the hallway into the bedroom was not sitting on top of the flooring that they laid down. It was against it so my foot had dragged across it. Then I went and looked in the spare bedroom and the transition piece of wood was on top of the wood. I didn't know why it was done differently in the master bedroom. Also, they had told me that the subflooring in both rooms was fine. But I can feel a dip in the floor of the master bedroom and a little squeak.
I sent pictures to the customer service person that I first contacted and then I didn't hear from her for a while. About two weeks after, I happened to call and left her a message again. But I didn’t hear anything. Then I called back the main number and they told me that they had let some people go. So there was somebody else that I’m working with and sent the pictures. I’m still in the process of working out some stuff. I need to make a decision on the color of the quarter round. I saw a deal on television that Empire was offering. Once I got to them, the salesman showed me several different products, and I decided to move forward with that. I had hardwood floors and carpeting installed in the entire first floor of my townhome. During the initial stage, we first did the hardwood floors. Then they came back in and did the carpeting at a later time, so that we could move furniture around. I like the fact that the staining on the flooring was what was agreed to and that it works perfectly, and I like the wider planking. I like the width of the board themselves. I appreciate the color of the carpeting much more than I do the standard off tan junk that every townhome gets because that's the cheapest for them to put in. But there are a couple of things that I'm not pleased about with the carpeting installed because there seems to be a couple of places where they did not get it as tight as it should have been.

I’ve called empire 5 times to check if anyone is gonna come install my carpet and I keep getting “I’ll collect your name, address and contact information and someone will get back to you.” It’s not very professional to make an appointment and not keep it. Empire salespeople are trained to over-quote and manipulate their customers. It’s impossible to fairly compare empire to other companies. They won’t give you $/foot. We went with a local business. They were much more competent and offered fair, competitive rates. We got a much higher quality carpet for significantly less cost. The Empire salesman was relentless, rude and made everyone extremely uncomfortable.
I agreed to a quote with the condition that we wouldn’t have to deal with high stress sales tactics. The salesman was exactly that-he was annoying, arrogant and creepy. He made my sister cry, my sweet, calm son angry and talked my elderly parents into a terrible deal. I had to help them cancel it which took a lot of work. It was worth it in the end to cancel with Empire and go with a local flooring company. They had plush, soft, inexpensive carpet with installers with 30 years experience. We felt comfortable having them in our home. They kindly moved furniture and put it back and were very professional. Please don’t waste your money on the smarmy Empire guys.

Due to flooding in our area, we had to replace the carpet in our living room. It is not a big space, however the living area is very important since this is a small home. We called Empire on Sunday and they sent a sales person out the next afternoon. She said that they do not remove damaged carpet and left. So I had the carpet removed by end of business the next day. For reasons unknown, another sales person could visit us until the following Tuesday. So it a whole week to get the other salesperson on site. My guess is that it is not a big deal for them, so the rep didn't care when he got out here.
We agreed verbally to a deal that day. However, it took a day and a half for the sales guy to get the paperwork to us. And another day for him to actually start running the credit check through Wells Fargo. I should mention that both sales people said immediately after they walked in the door that could have the carpet installed the next day. So here it is two weeks into this situation and no installation yet. We have reached out to both the salesperson and supposedly his sales manager to no avail. They keep dodging us and there have no answers forthcoming from them as to when the carpet might be installed. Be forewarned, if you are not going to spend a lot of money with Empire, they won't treat you well. Good luck. At present, we are still waiting for any response from them.

We had vinyl flooring installed five years ago. It looked like wood but it was rubber. It was installed in the living room, dining room, two bathrooms, and the utility room off the kitchen. The reps from Empire Today planned on how much material to bring, but they never told me how many square feet it was. The installation was good and it was done in a day. They moved what furniture had to be moved. This is a mobile home and the subfloor is not straight enough. So they had to put a subfloor in. The quality of their work was very good. There are two gaps that have to be repaired and that’s what they’re coming back for.
The flooring was great and I was very elated. We had so many compliments on the floor. We had carpeting and vinyl tile before that and vinyl flooring was such an amazing change. It looked new and modern. You’d never guess how old the house was from looking at it with the new flooring. It was absolutely beautiful. And I still love it.

He advised me in the product that Empire has and kinda gave me a good review of those.
There were just a few incidents, especially in the installation. When they came and said that they need to put cement, they said it was probably in 75% of the house. When I came in, it was only a few patches here and there. That was like $800 and for me, that was a little bit expensive although I didn’t know the job, so I couldn't say that much. Then the guy came and started using my trashcan so he could use it for water and all that. It’s not an expensive trashcan, but at the end of the day, it ended up being all dirty. He didn’t clean it. We had Empire Today for the whole house. I have two rooms, kitchen, and half a hall, and the den in the LVP. The rest of the house is on carpet. I was having some remodeling done and I was meaning to get the flooring scheduled. I made a hasty decision. I’ve downgraded from what carpeting I had. I purposely took my hand and rubbed across Empire's carpet to see if it made marks one way of the other, and it didn’t. It seemed to be a tighter weave, if that’s the proper terminology. I can vacuum it and it always looks like it needs vacuuming because there’s always footprints. It’s just not as thick as what it appeared to be in the sample that I looked at. I’m very satisfied with the color but it just doesn’t look good. It splotches all over the place.
The sales rep that came out ran late. I understand that because he said the prior customer just couldn’t make up her mind. I was okay with that but he was in a hurry. He was real fast talking. He was also having issues with his laptop, too. He was about to lose power. It died on him while we were making the purchase and he had to go home and get his charger. He came back in a couple of hours. It was an emotional thing. It happened real fast and that should have been a warning sign to me. Also, I saw advertised on TV 50% off, but apparently it was not even worth mentioning because it was bait and switch. I totally asked him about that but he was really preoccupied that he was about to lose power. He was very cordial, though.
The vinyl plank was very good, although we found a piece of quarter round underneath the sink that wasn’t secured or nailed down completely. Didn’t realize that until just two or three weeks ago but you don’t go around and check every little piece. But the installer was very knowledgeable. We still have some issues with where the vinyl and the carpet meet, ‘cause there was a strip put down in the carpet where they had to redo part of it because it didn’t look like it wasn’t secured well enough. Where the carpet stopped and the vinyl started looks a little bit frayed. I’ll vacuum it a couple of times and see how it does. My husband thinks it’s the quality of the carpet. It should look seamless, unless you’re just really looking for it. Overall, for $6,300, the vinyl flooring’s quality I’m very happy with. But the rest of it, not happy.

Empire Today is a known entity. I learned things when the salesman came in that it seems to be at a fair price, and they could do the job very quickly. I got vinyl flooring that installs with no glue because I moved into a house with reasonably good wooden floors. There is a room that I am going to make into a painting studio and I don’t want to mess up the wood floors so if the next person in the house is not happy with the flooring, they can rip it all up. The flooring is very nice and comfortable to walk on. However by Murphy's Law, a couple hours after the installation team went, I actually gouged the surface by putting a piece of furniture on it. It is disappointing that the surface of the product is that fragile. I will tell people about my experience but I don't recommend it.

After declining the flooring Empire customer service reduced the cost of the total contract to only the carpeting cost of $3,959.60 which I understood as payment that included my $1200.00 deposit. The cost of carpeting was suppose to be $3,959.60 - $1,200.00 = $2759.60. Wells Fargo sent me a payment plan for $3659.60. Empire is at fault because of the excessive charge for the carpeting.

I used Empire before and was always happy with them. Recently, I had them install carpet in the two bedrooms including two closets, hallway, upstairs, and stairs up the steps to the upstairs. The sales representative was wonderful. Not only he knew that we wanted carpet, but he also offered these other services. Just to have him go through that due diligence, that he was used to just selling carpet and have to sell other things, I thought he was really good at it. He was also good from a carpet perspective, he didn't try to sell us on one thing. He understood what our need was. We wanna leave in a couple of years so we didn't want some high-end things. He didn't try to sell us something more than what we needed and I thought that was really nice.
The installers were very good about calling, 'cause I asked to call me and let me know the window that they were gonna be there. They came. One guy had the badge of Empire on and he did not speak English. He had another guy with him and then he had this kid. The one guy spoke broken English and the young kid was the translator. That didn't bother me and I could deal with that, but if you have an elderly person, that might be a little bit confusing for them. However, they were very professional. They put all their rugs down to make sure that they didn't ruin my floors. They were also respectful when I said that we had our bathroom redone and it cost us $10,000 and that they should not put anything in our bathroom furniture-wise. They kept us informed about the status of where they were.
But we had a little bit of a problem before they could start. For some reason, Empire thought that we owed them a check. We did the 12 months finance. The guy said to give him a check and I told him I won't. He wasn't mean about everything and was just following his rules so he told me to talk to his boss. He had to call this boss that spoke Spanish and had to go through all of these hoops because Empire did not have it written down right that my husband and I were approved for the financing and I didn't have to pay anything at the time. Then the translator had to say that this is what's going on. So that kind of thing was a little bit of a hiccup. They were really quick though and put everything back the best that they could. I did not expect them to do that. We ran the vacuum a couple of times on the carpet and everything's holding up well. There's nothing peeling off or coming off the walls. They did a really good job.

Somebody that we were talking to had at least had heard about Empire. We told her that we've been to a number of different places, checking out different carpets. The installation went fine. Everybody was good. They were well-qualified and did well. They were kind, courteous and helpful and did what they needed to do at that point. They had to come back because it was such a monumental thing. We had to move everything in the house and we had way too much stuff in the house. So, it was a monumental deal to just move it and then move it from where you moved it to so they could put more down. But other than that, they did what they said they were gonna do. Even the salesman was courteous, kind and was good.
I communicated with the salesman and told him that we liked the carpet mats, and yet at the same time, I didn't realize that it would mat that much. And so, as far as tracking and anything laying on it, shows. Just every step you take shows. Every print and whatever. And so, it's just unique. Some carpets do that and some don't. But I didn't realize this was going to do that. But we've done what we could do. We can't change it. We'll live with it, but it's just the fact that we just somehow didn't realize it was gonna have that tracking ability just profoundly. I even sent the salesman a couple of pictures. I could send him another one, but I guess he knows that we got what we asked for.
The fact that he showed us a sample and we walked on it and so forth and felt it. You just stood on it. It wasn't long enough to walk on, but you stood on it, then made a decision. He said it was like king of the walk and is wonderful and people liked it. A little bit of carpet we have in a lower room doesn't do the tracking at all. We just didn't have enough money to do it. I wouldn't wanna have it laid. If I had something to where you'd have both in the same place, if I could get something to put it down so it didn't have the contrast. That would be helpful.
I hope and pray the quality is all it is cracked up to be. We like the color and we chose that. I'm walking on the carpet now and we're learning to live with it. It gives you a good feel and it's not abrasive like some. If you roll a chair that has rollers on it or if you sweep, it's interesting. As far as what we had picked out, both as far as flooring and carpet, we put down the flooring in the kitchen area, and then we put carpet throughout everything else basically, and I told my wife with what we were doing, if we would've gone that route, we would've had two different issues but we would've saved a couple of thousand dollars if we did what we were thinking about.
So we paid a higher price, paid more funds for what we have, and there's a possibility it may be better. We surely were not being skimpy. We looked at several places. We looked at Lowe's and Home Depot, and then we also looked at a discount place in Georgia. And so, if we had gone with what we were actually picking out, then it surely wasn't by any means the bottom of the line. It was quality, both as far as pad and carpet, but it would've actually been a couple thousand dollars less.
The fact that Empire at least allowed us to purchase it and pay for it over the year with no interest, then I made the choice to do that just so we didn't have to spend all the money at one time. But in actuality, what we were gonna buy would've been a couple thousand less than what we put in this. We put 7,300 and some dollars in this. I don't have complaints with the personnel or the people or the installers. It's just the fact that we did not discern how it was gonna end up looking.

We were disappointed that the salesperson said repeatedly that the entire job would be done in one day. It took nearly three. Their installers were really late in getting started. The guy told me that there was no way they could be at my place at the time Empire said as they had another job they had to finish. So, the job at my place took much longer than we were told. It impacted our ability to work and the things we could have planned for. Other than that though, their installers did a good job. We are happy with Empire's product and our floors look great.

Empire's sales guy was great. However, their offer said that if I buy one room, I would get the next room free. They had all all these stipulations which I expected but it was ridiculous. The cost was thousands of dollars more than we would’ve thought to do a second room with the same materials. Empire should be a bit more transparent about their deals. Still, I had them install laminate flooring in our family room and everything went well. Their crew was fantastic and when we have the other room done, we’re gonna ask for them to come back if they can. The flooring we got is beautiful. It's definitely what we expected.

Desiree was our sales consultant and she was good. She explained everything and she showed us the samples. It took her time telling us about all the samples that they had. I like that they did the installation in one day. I had laminate floor installed in the basement. It’s gray and it’s very easy to clean. That's what I wanted. I wanted something that you can just polish right away. The young men that did the installation were good. They did their work. They called me before they started and they asked me which way, but then they decided to do it however they decided because of something they had to do. They tell you how not to scratch it. Everything went well. We’re very satisfied.

I had laminate flooring in the house and wood plank in the bathrooms. There were two different teams who came. The team that did the laminate flooring was excellent. They told us this was this and there was somebody talking to me all day as to what was going on. If they needed something, there was constant communication. They did a good job with the laminate floor and we were okay with it. But I wasn't as happy with the other. They left quite a mess in the bathrooms that we had to clean up. But overall, Empire was pretty good. They came out and did everything.

Our experience with Empire Today has always been great. We’ve never had a problem with them. We’ve needed them three times when we were in Colorado and twice here so far. We absolutely love the quality of their products. Recently, we had linoleum put down. We had it done downstairs, in an exercise room, in a bedroom we’re turning into my craft room and into a pantry. Their sales rep was a great guy and the installation crew was fabulous.

The installation team came and helped us move stuff. They remarkably quickly did it in a very fine manner and they were gone. It was perfect. Now we have two large rooms, a family room and living room, of a deep pile, gray carpet. I am just hoping and praying that Empire still has that same carpet in probably 18 months when we do the other half of the house.

We had Empire Today install some carpets and they were pretty decent. We looked at the product that they offered online and found the color guide and we were impressed with it. Recently we had some laminate flooring installed in our dining area and two hallways. It is a good product and the people who installed the flooring were very nice, courteous and professional. However Empire completely messed up our order--not enough boxes and the wrong type of transition to our other room. They had to come three different times over three weeks after the initial installation date. The salesman said that he would look into it and reimburse us because of the mistakes. I contacted him twice and I haven’t heard back from him. Other than that I’d still recommend them.

Putting down flooring is not easy like people think it is. There’s so much to choose from and there’s so much out there. It’s not my favorite thing to shop for. I had other people who were giving me lower quotes. But the Empire Today salesperson was just so professional and he walked me through it. I didn't make my decision at that moment, but he came back when I had more questions. He was awesome.
The installers were awesome and professional, too. They came in here, started each day at the same time, and let me know what they were doing. They got it done at the time they said they were doing it. It’s on a vacation home and I need to call them back for some work ‘cause I have been gone for three weeks. I see some things that they need to take care of as related to putting down a towel. It’s always difficult to put stuff on the steps, but I love the flooring. It’s not cheap but the upkeep is gonna be easier for me. Overall, it’s an awesome experience with Empire and I have already recommended them.

I had tile and carpeting installed in one transaction with Empire Today. I was so pleased with it so I had them do the other job, too. I had carpet put in two rooms and the hall in the other one. They’d go way beyond what I would’ve thought was a corrective action. They were very responsive and I was very pleased with both installations
The first guys had some issues speaking English, but the second guys are definitely the best. They were quick, easy, very helpful, cooperative and they both spoke good English. With the carpet installation they did inside the closet, I couldn’t believe that they could get the carpet done in an almost one-full piece which was pretty amazing. I started out good with Empire and I initially had three rooms remodeled but lately, I’ve been having problems. The little piece they put down on the floor to separate one room from the other room keeps on jumping up. It’s not tacked down good. Also, I went with Empire when I saw their ad to buy one room and get the other room half-price but it didn’t turn out that way. I bought one room and they wanna charge me $2,500 for the second room. So, I’m through with them. They should be an honest salesman. They should not advertise one thing on TV and then, when they get to the home, it’s something else.

This is the third time I’ve had Empire Today do my flooring. They’ve always done a great job installing. I got tired of carpets so I had a wood-look linoleum down the living room, then I had the laminate up in the bedrooms. I still had the green carpet on the stairs and the hallway upstairs which were the original, but it did not go with my new color schemes so I got a nice gray Berber on the stairs and then the hallway to go with my new color schemes. I feel that will be neutral because it can go with anything now with the gray. Their people have always done a great job installing and taking care of everything, moving stuff, and I’ve always gotten a good value. Their consultants have always been great. They give good deals and do a good job.

My Empire Today flooring improved our home. We installed some laminate flooring for our living room, a small hallway, and a kitchen. It was convenient. Empire offered a total package price, so we knew what we were getting for all the different details. We are able to have furniture moved and moved back. However we have a small house so that was critical because we didn’t know what else to do with them with the furniture. Empire included a lot of additional items that we were struggling with the other vendors to figure out a total cost. Every time we turned around, they would say we didn't need those.
Quality of the product was very good. The installer wore an Empire Today shirt, so we knew that he was from Empire. He was a very nice gentleman, informed us as he went, walked through the house with patience because my brothers were still moving some things around for us. He did a couple of other little fine-tuning things that were just for his own personal quality control preference. One was that he wasn’t happy with how one of our doors was swinging so he didn’t cut it, he saved it. But he made sure that it wouldn’t have a wear spot on the floor later. He informed us of different things to look for as the floor settled in, and was very knowledgeable about the product and asked questions where needed, but very quiet and very clean. We didn’t have a mess when he left.

It has been a month and when I called today they said another 7-10 days. It was not my fault they ordered the wrong color or the factory sent the wrong items. All Empire wants to do is sell. The carpet that I had before was Berber carpeting, and Empire installed it way back 2006 or 2008. I had them do my entire house and guy did the best job in the world on my stairs. The rug was beautiful. I’m only removing it because I wanted it to look newer and nicer. Now, I’m regretting it. I should have just had it cleaned and kept it because I’m not satisfied.
I’m still waiting for them to come here and fix my problem. Empire Today installed the floor February 1st, the LVP floor upstairs but the guy didn’t install it right where it came off on the hallway area, so it’s lifted. And then, he put the wrong nose near the stairs. He never hit the rug with one of those machines that was supposed to make it tight so every step was super-loose, and it was coming apart.
When he got to the top of the stairs, he couldn’t fit it to the nose. He hammered that nose that was already there and broke it, and put the rug crooked so there was no rug to the right. I kept calling Empire and I’m telling them that we have a humongous problem here. I even took pictures of everything and it sent it to them but they wouldn’t send anybody out. They just kept giving me the run-around.
When they finally sent somebody out, it was the wrong person. He doesn't know how to do it. He still can’t fix the top of the rug unless they send somebody else that does the LVP. They're gonna have to come with another box of LVP, and take all those pieces out. He also said he can't fix the stairs any better than what they are unless we go buy molding. Don't get me wrong. I love Empire. I just think somebody’s doing something wrong, and they need to get it right. I’m not happy with this. And now, I gotta live with this, and I paid for this. And they're telling me this is the best they could do. But, I’m still waiting.

It’s been fun working with Empire. Everybody has been great that I’ve talked to. They have very cheerful, and informative, and communicative people. I talked to like three other companies so I know the difference. A lot of the plank flooring is different in hardness, and Empire had a better plank flooring than two other people I looked at. We had it for our kitchen and entryway and we had tile put in our bathroom.
The installer was so thorough. I had about one-sixteenth rise in my flooring in front of the stairs, and the installer spent two and a half hours grinding and sanding that down to make sure that was flat before he put the flooring in. I was very impressed. Everybody liked the flooring. It’s cleaning up really nice and it made a lot of difference in the house. It looks much newer now.
One issue was they wouldn’t have been able to put the flooring in because I had a glass door. It’s a wooden door with glass windows in it. The installer refused to even touch that door. I had to take it down myself. Luckily, I had a rotary saw and I could saw it, put it back in. Otherwise, it would’ve stopped installation that day, and that was really annoying that they wouldn’t even consider moving the door or anything. They said, ”We don’t touch any doors with glass in it.” I wish the guy who surveyed ahead of time would’ve said something. I could’ve been ready for it. Other than that everything else was perfect,

They came and covered the damage to the walls. Not fix...cover over. But I was told that the installers denied damaging my mattress and bed and that I would not be compensated for the damage. They sell you on that they are insured and will move your furniture but they will do it with total disregard and will not cover the damage done.

We had a salesman come out from Empire Today and sold us on vinyl floor laminate in our kichen, living room and bathrooms. He told us they would install the base at no charge but we would have to supply the base. He said the shoe molding was included in the price for material and installation. We told him we would supply the base and spent 10 minutes showing him what we wanted. The price for the flooring was about $1000.00 more than our lowest price we got, but because we thought they were a reputable company and it would be hassle free we went with them.
My husband has health problems and was going to be overseeing the work it was important for it to be as little stress as possible. The problems started as soon as they came to install the flooring. They told him we would have to pay more to have the base installed. I was at work so he had to call me to get empire on the phone. It took me over an houir and many calls to get it resolved while I am trying to work on my job. The installers were spanish and could not speak any English. At first one of their wives were there to translate but she left and their was no way to communicate. I got home around 5 pm and they were still working. We assumed they would be done for the day soon. At 8:30 that night they had the wife talk to us and tell us to go get wax rings for the toilet.
We said that is not our job. She insisted so my husband was forced to go to Lowes at 8:30 at night. When he got back they never put then on but kept working. At 9:30 pm our security in our subdivision told them they would have to leave. We tild security we had no way of communicating with them and we were glad they came and were able to get then to leave. After they had been told to leave I started to clean up the mess that was left. I soon discovered that they had opened our garage which is a fully furnished game room and were using the light to see for all the cuts they were making with their miter saw. It had sawdust everywhere. I worked past midnight to clean it up. We also had a problem with one of the workers earlier when we showed him that he was putting the trip up wrong. He said something abprupt in Spanish and looked angry.
They came back the next day and were finishing the job. My husband showed them by motioning about the wax rings on toilet not being done. They became angry and were trying to argue with him . The wife called again to translate and she said they had already had changed them. They had not and she began to yell at my huisband on phone. I had to cal;l empire again and they sent someone out 2 days later and as we had said the workers had lied and they did not change the wax rings. They also took pictures of the floor where we had tried to complain to the Spanish workers that it was not right.
I called Empire many times trying to get all these problems resolved. We never signed off on the floor and they would not return any of my calls. It has been over 2 months and I still continue to call but no return calls. I disputed the charge on my credit card because no one will call me back. They originally offered us 200 dollars off for the problem with the wax rings but never took it off the bill but charged our credit card the full amount. They refuse to handle this whole situation.
