Awful. Awful. As title. Those non English speaking worker took my carpet away, and did not have enough inventory to finish the job. Three weeks later and was told twice they will come back but still a no show. NO one bother to call me even it's a no show.

Empire quoted me a really good price, and they could do it within the timeframe that I had. They already had everything in stock. I had carpeting done throughout my downstairs, up the steps and in the hallway and the one back bedroom. I had the same carpeting there. Then I contracted to have hardwood put in my foyer and my kitchen. I didn't end up having the floors installed, but they gave me my money back for that. So that went well. They said I had asbestos in my floor and they would not install anything until I had a remediation come in and do a certificate. I didn't have asbestos on my floor. I had another local dealership come in and take care of everything. So, it worked out. I would recommend Empire for carpeting.

My mom was telling me that Empire Today had a sale going on and it's 50-50. I decided to call and when their guy came out, it wasn't the 50-50. They need to stop that 'cause that ain't working. If I could have gotten their product for 50-50 it would have been great. But the flooring I received was better than what the 50-50 was and I like it. The installers did good work and worked fast.
Everything went well. It's just that there was a mix-up on the payment because I thought it was going to Synergy. And after I had got the cashier's check for Synergy, then I waited and waited. And when they finished the floor, they was asking for the money. I said, "No. I'm supposed to make the payment. We already talked about this and we're supposed to make the payment to Synergy, not to you.” Then come to find out, it was supposed to go to Empire and not Synergy. Other than that, I love the floor and I can't wait to get this second one paid down so that I can get the rest of the house done.

Our experience with Empire Today was amazing from start to finish. We started the process by scheduling a consultation online and the appointment was set shortly after. I was incredibly impressed with the sales person Ryan C. who came to our home. I have found that through this process the sales reps for some companies aren't as knowledgeable as the installation techs. This was not the case with Ryan. You could tell Ryan was confident and knew what he was talking about. He was also not pushy at all - I didn't feel like he was just there to make a sell but to also ensure we were truly happy with what we received. He gave us the time to consider our options and really went above and beyond to make sure we understood what we were getting, how to care for it, etc.
We had received quotes from multiple companies and ultimately went with Empire Today and Ryan due to their beautiful variety of flooring, pricing, and Ryan's knowledge and caring. We eventually decided to get the Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring with him because it best fit our needs. From the point that Ryan left until the installers came and finished was amazing. I was able to reach out to Ryan and ask a LOT of questions before our install and I never felt like I was bothering him. He always went out of his way to ensure I was heard and my questions answered - even when he was extremely busy with other appointments/etc - he always made sure to call me back by end of day.
The installers were amazing as well. They arrived on time and quickly got to work. You could tell they efficiently/expertly divided the work between themselves to ensure they got the work done quickly but beautifully/professionally. They were polite, friendly and helpful the whole time they were in our home. We were also working from home at the time - so they took extra care to work around us - as well as be mindful of where we were in the home and sound. I was so impressed at how quickly the floor was installed and how great it looked and how well done it was. They left all areas really clean and well done and checked with us multiple times before leaving that we were ok with how everything looked/etc. We are now a week past our install and I'm literally still in awe of how good our flooring looks and how well done it was.
I have one last note and this is again for Ryan - after our install Ryan took the time to answer questions about protecting our floor and has checked in on us to ensure we were happy. I don't think I've ever been more impressed with a sales person. You can tell Ryan takes pride in what he does and that his customers are satisfied. I can't speak for all salespeople at Empire Today but if all of them are like Ryan - you can count on having the company and its employees/contractors care for your home.

Empire came out and gave me a quote a few years ago. I went back with them again and had carpet installed in the hallway and the bedroom. Empire is quick and I like that got the job done the same day. The work was good and it was what I wanted.

We had the linoleum tile floor and carpet done. The installers were fast. I was in some kind of awe in terms of tear down. They finished both projects in four hours. We were very pleased. It was very well done. The new padding is really nice. It was previously a very pet-stained carpet, so the new carpet smells really nice too. Now, the entryway is much more cleaner. The nicest part is that we extended the entryway about three feet so now I have room to take my shoes off without staining my carpet. Empire Today's response times are great. From calling to having the project finished was less than a week and a half. Also, the cost is competitive to everywhere else I looked at.

Updated on 06/25/2021: Fighting with these people for a month. Several no shows for scheduled visits. A room of carpet with no padding/glued down in a bedroom, they tore the carpet in one room after they laid it down, other rooms where carpet is cut short and not touching the walls even, bunching up in many places coming up in others. Wrong padding ordered and put down.
Someone finally came out today to fix it. When they called to say they were coming I asked if he knew what needed done and had all the supplies. He said yes. Got here and didn't know what all he was doing and didn't have the supplies needed. Wanted to leave. Told him to do what he could. He wanted to leave. Insisted that he do what he could today and he said sign this. I said I wasn't signing anything until the work was done and done right. He said can't work without a signature. Told him to just give me the papers and yes I raised my voice because I am so sick of all this ** that my nerves are shot.
He grabbed the papers away as I reached for them and said, "I'm not working for you." I apologized for raising my voice and explained the situation and he just said he wasn't working for me. Quite convenient since it was obvious he didn't want to do the work to begin with. I was given a number for corporate and spoke with someone who arranged this yesterday, but now I can't get ahold of her. My son was late for work because of this, four rooms are scattered throughout my house and garage, a month of wasted time waiting on people who don't show or show at 7:30 at night only to say too much work, not gonna do now-be back tomorrow-no show. This is beyond insane.
Original Review: Carpet was glued to a (tile) bedroom floor and no padding was put down. (You either glue only the tack strips down or nail through the grout lines.) In other rooms carpet was cut short not even touching the walls, bunching up, coming up off the tack strips, and even sliced open in one 2 inch spot. The wrong pad was ordered and put down. Someone was scheduled to be here to redo the work on a Tues., showed up at 7:30 at night to say they couldn't do the work; it was too late in the day and they'd be back the next day. Never showed up. Talked to several people at Empire-lucky if you can get anyone to call you back that may or may not know something helpful; "not" has been my experience most of the time-and got several different answers.
My house is in complete disarray and they say they can't schedule a re-install for several more days now. We've already emptied the rooms twice and put back once. Now we have to put 4 rooms back again and empty out and put back a third time once we figure out what we can do about it all. Empire also installed LVT flooring down with several places having gaps, up to 1/2 an inch, that should have had trim. Had to have them come out to fix that and to replace the LVT flooring the Empire carpet installers damaged when moving furniture. The LVT installers were told they could reuse our old trim since it was going to be painted and only use their new trim where it was needed, but what they didn't tell me was their trim was considerably bigger than what we had. Now there's two different size trim pieces for the LVT rooms.
Filed complaints with the state and BBB about the carpeting and waiting a week or two for responses. Already been told by Empire that a full refund of carpet, install, and warranty is not coming. Will take out at least restock fees... (Restock what?) Offered to schedule fix/install for several days down the road, (twice throughout this, scheduled installs or fixes were "no shows"), and a $300 refund. I spent over $13,000. It's been a nightmare of shoddy work and wasted time and effort.

Empire's sales rep was great and I really liked him. I got vinyl plank and carpet from them. The vinyl plank was installed in my little bathroom, my kitchen, and down on the stairs to my lower level. Then the carpet was installed in the main floor, family room area, and one of my bedrooms. One of the installer guys didn’t speak English and they would speak in the dialect or a language I didn’t understand. And sometimes, I found that a little insulting or a little rude because you don't know what they're saying and they could be talking about you. But they did an okay job as far as the flooring. They had to cut a little piece of wood that goes from the floor to the wall, so it makes it smooth-looking. And that is still shaky, but the carpet's fine.

The gentleman that came to do the sales was a real nice guy. It seemed like Empire Today would be doing a good job, and I thought they did. But when they did the installation, damaged my daughter's TV. They were supposed to be here one day, and they weren’t. The product didn’t come in. It was a pain in the **. I had to take days off of work. By the time everything got said and done and I got the TV fixed, they were supposed to credit me back the two days I had to take off of work, which was over $600 I lost. But they didn’t. The customer service sucks.

I liked the reviews that I read about Empire and I went with them because of the availability of the materials. They were able to get them in pretty quickly. The sales rep was fantastic, too. He was very personable, knowledgeable, and listened to what we wanted. He offered up the right suggestions, and ended up working with us and putting together the right pricing as well. We had carpet put into two rooms and I'm very happy with it. I was really impressed with the installers, too. The guys really had it together. They moved some of the furniture that were a little heavier, but that wasn't really a big deal. When they put the carpet in, one of the tack strips had come up. But during their final inspection, they ended up pulling it back up and fixing it right, and replacing it before they left without me even having to ask them to. They did a really good job so we'll probably end up using them again once we get the master bedroom redone.

They were in and out of here before I knew it. They picked up their trash. Everything was clean when they left. It was like they had never been here. I had the flooring installed in the living room, the dining room, the hall and the fitting room. It is beautiful.

The rep that I worked with was good. He gave us his input on what he thought was best. I wanted another little piece at the door, but it wasn't done. Everything went great with my experience with Empire Today. I had two different carpets onto 3 bedrooms and a Florida room. The sales rep was great. She showed up and she answered every question I had. As soon as I asked, she already had the answer. She had samples of everything and was upfront and honest about like, “If you do this, I can get you a better deal on this than I can on this.” The installers also went above and beyond for me a couple of times.

We've used Empire Today three times. Once in our prior house, and then twice in this house that we're in now. And all three times were fine. The first time we got it, it was done in two days. And then the next time we got it, it was done in three days. So it was very quick turnaround time. Both teams that came to do the installation were very courteous.
I got downstairs re-carpeted last year. And there was a room off to the side, a rec room that we've been using as a guest room. We opted not to do that part. That was the section that we did now to match the rest of the downstairs. It was a small, 15x18 rec room. We matched the same carpet that we got in the rest of the part of the basement last year. It's good quality for what you pay for. I'm pleased with the process of the gentleman showing up here and going over our options, giving us a quote, getting it scheduled, and having it done quickly.

The sales rep was very knowledgeable. She was very helpful in suggestions and concerns that we had. She arrived on time, and she first went over what we were looking for. She wanted to know what we were looking to do, and what we wanted everything to look like when it was done. The installers communicated on the way on what time they would be here. They measured everything to make sure they had enough carpet. Then they came in and helped moved stuff that wasn't moved and explained what they were going to be doing. They gave us an estimated time how long they will be doing the work. They were a good team. I was very satisfied with the quality of work that they did.

I worked with Empire Today in 2007. I was very impressed with the quality of the product and the way they did the work. Customer service was great in those days. So I took some quotations from other companies and I decided to go with Empire Today. However, I am so sorry I went with them because they have not even finished the work. Also, they did not give me the carpeting I chose. They gave me something else. And when I told them, they said, "Oh, okay, we can change the carpet for you, but you will have to pay for labor." And when they did the bedroom, then they had to cut because there are three landings. It's three floors, so there are a couple of landings and the steps. They took the measurement and said they would come back after two weeks. After that, I tried calling them and it went to the answering machine, and I left messages. Then when I got to someone, they made me wait, and then they disconnected me. I was so fed up.
I ordered it in April, but up to now my work is not done. I tried calling them, then they sent me an email. Based on that email, I called again but they did not answer. I left a voice message two days ago. Yesterday, I got very upset. I wrote them a nasty email. And this morning, the rep called me and said, "We are trying to get in touch with you to see when you would like the work to be done." And there is no sorry. "Can I help you with your problem?" They are just disregarding the carpet. So even this, they are not addressing. I said, "Okay, fine. As long as they do the stairs, even with a different carpet, I'm fine."
Trisha, we take your concern seriously and will be in touch with you soon.

On their third reschedule on June 14th for my carpet installation at 89120. Your men comes and they want me to pay right away the balance. The carpet they show me is lighter than the carpet on the living room which is so easily to spot the difference. I told them did you bring the 4 transition strip but they said the sales did not tell them about that, and because of that I said I will not pay until you install it properly as how your sale agent name John told me and convinced me to hired you. Of course I want to make sure that the carpet was done according to me and john agreed.
Because it's so hard to get hold on your office it's hard to reached them. On the 2nd rescheduled of installation I told a them that I am leaving the house at the 15th of June so make sure everything will be fix according to what we agreed by your sales agent John. But the technician has attitude and rude its like he is not happy doing the project, he don't even mind to call your office about the problem. He said just do another rescheduled and he left. If only he has the transition strip, why should I not pay it right away. But because he don’t have it I am sure that will take more days, more wait, and more rescheduled before they will come back. So many times I try to get hold someone from empire carpet but somebody will answer and pass me to other person and I keep on waiting until the line cut. I am so frustrated and I should believe the Google review about your company.

When we used Empire Today the first time four years ago, they came in and laid our carpet. I wish we would have been more knowledgeable about the carpet that was on sale though. It was not as good a quality. Besides having a problem with my son's dog coming in, it was definitely not a carpet for high traffic areas. It didn't hold up like we thought it was going to. I was disappointed in that. Still, we did a repeat with Empire Today when we had to relay the carpet. The saleslady, this time, was great. We just told her what we needed, what we experienced, and she didn't even go to the on-sale carpet. She told us that the carpet is great. She mentioned the new padding, what it’s rated for, and what it would do for us. Definitely, that was a better experience from that perspective.
This time, the carpet we bought was way better quality. It was more expensive though. We're just doing the upstairs bedrooms, but it was almost as expensive as doing a 7,000 square-foot house, when we did the entire house. With COVID, the second install experience was definitely not as good as well. The first crew that came in ended up walking out. Empire fired them, so we had a second crew that came in. They were really good, but we had a hard time time with scheduling, so I wasn't happy about that.
Empire has a problem with, like anything else, shortage of help. They still haven't gotten everything that we needed done because they don't have anybody that can lay slate right now. It’s a smaller job in the main part of the house, and I want that carpet out before I have a new puppy come in. We haven't heard a word from Empire. I'll probably end up going with somebody else to lay the slate at this point.

There is a clear disconnect between the corporate Empire Today entity and the local sites (franchises?). Be very cautious who you'll be dealing with LOCALLY. Our experience with the local San Diego site (in Vista, CA) has been very negative. We met with the rep, chose the material, explained the urgency and were given an install date, requiring a hefty upfront deposit. Install date arrives, passes and no news. Waiting. As we were in a time crunch the project had to be cancelled. Called customer service and they agreed to cancel the work order and return the deposit. Turns out the local Vista, CA office disagrees and doesn't approve the return of the deposit. If the local franchises can override company decisions, you really don't know who you'll be dealing with and should either stay away, or research the local outfit who will be doing the work on behalf of Empire.

The other companies that came by brought samples and the other brands looked all right, but the bottom line was the price. It was way out there. The deal was samples then price. If I liked the sample, “Okay. Give me the price.” I liked Empire Today's price and it was a deal. That’s how easy it was. The installers called me the day before. In the morning of, they called me when they were on the way to say they’d be here in about 40 minutes. They got here on time. They took up the old flooring and then put down the new flooring. They did a good job. I'm happy with the quality, and what I like about the vinyl flooring more than anything else is that it's low maintenance.
Dealing with the people at the office, the administrative part, sucked, but dealing with the sales guy and then the installation people, it was top-notch. The salesman and the installation guys went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the product and the installation. As a matter of fact, I still speak to the salesman from time to time.

I've heard a lot of complaints about Empire in other states but the one here in Denver was good. We had to call and ask a lot of questions because we didn't know what we wanted. We had a lot of very specific needs but knew very little. Throughout our house, we have solid oak wood floors that are sealed. There's a lot of differentiation in the coloring and we were trying to match it but we didn't want oak wood. It's harder to match when it's not oak. We also needed a floor that was dog-friendly as well as easy to clean and maintain. We wanted something that would be easy to replace if it needed to be replaced as well and they had to expand on the molding a little bit so there wasn't a space. Plus, I had to have it done by a certain date because of my son's graduation and we had people coming.
The reps helped out a lot. They did it to where it was almost seamless. The person that came out to look at our floor and helped us pick out the flooring had all kinds of samples with her. We didn't have to wait. She made the appointment while she was here. She answered all our questions. There were two she didn't have an answer for, but she called somebody and got the answer. We got an oak flooring that's a combination of hardwood and something else. It comes in the planks and we like it. It's like there's a border around it and it looks nice.
The gentlemen who came and did the flooring were helpful and answered our questions during installation and care. My son's on the autism spectrum and they handled that well. They were very dog-friendly too. The installation went great. I gotta give them a call to come back out though. There's a piece of molding that wasn't attached to anything and it's weird because it's over by the stairs where the stairs meet the floor. It looks like they tried to nail it in but I don't think they realized there was nothing behind there.

I wish a "0" star was an option!! Our Vinyl Floor was not installed properly. They sent the same guy out to repair. He fixed one spot and complained the whole time. They sent another guy out and said the floor was not put in properly and the whole thing needed to be redone. We have had at least 3 scheduled installers after that "no show". They sent another person out with some material but he also agreed that the whole thing needed to be redone and he didn't have enough material. We have left several messages and do not get a call back. I have tried the chat and that has not resulted in anything. The last person was going to connect me with a supervisor and after a long hold I was sent to a recording to leave a message of the person that I had already left several messages.

The installers did not show up the first day they were supposed to, but they almost literally called at the end of the day. After that, everything was what I expected. My only disappointment was I have one very large room, and there were a few extra seams. They are holding together, and you don't see the seams unless you look for them, but if they used a full piece of carpet for this large area, I could have had two or three less seams there. It was the only little thing I was less than 100% sure about in terms of what they did. Apart from that, the two guys were very efficient. They moved the furniture very carefully. They were on time. They did great adjusting all the closets, the heights to the new carpet height. They did all the closet doors.
This is an area where we don't travel much to, so we bought a reasonably priced carpet. Empire Today's pricing is very competitive, but I don't know how their advertising, “Buy a room, get two rooms free” comes out in the wash. In my price comparison, they were good, but it's hard to confirm the marketing draw. At the end of the day, here's the price. They don't say, “Okay. You got six rooms you’re doing. So, here's the cost of these two rooms, then you get the other four free.” Overall, I was quite satisfied, and I would recommend them.

The rep who came out was very nice and highly recommended the glue down vinyl plank floor. I purchased that product due to his recommendation. I had the floor installed in Jan. Since then I’ve had multiple issues with the floors lifting and buckling up. Every time they came to do the repairs they sent the original installers. In the beginning they were pretty prompt about returning calls and sending out for repairs. Over the last few months customer service never returns calls and finally had to email their customer support online. I finally received a phone call from a customer service manager out of their main office. He said they were having problems with their customer service dept. in Phoenix and it was a well known issue. He sent a different installer out to examine my floor.
The installer said the floor was not installed correctly and that’s why I continue to have the same issue. The customer service manager told me that they would redo my entire hallway. He scheduled an appointment for service and no one showed up. I tried contacting the customer service manager and left several messages and no return calls. This is the second time out of multiple repairs where no one came. This has been a horrible experience that has been going on for 6 months. It’s not a good feeling to pay good money for a new floor and find out it was not installed properly. I would not recommend this company for the glue down vinyl plank floor.

I recently took out great hardwood floors to replace them with Empire’s laminate plank floors. The rep. Ruby came out immediately to and show me the product that he recommended that would be best for my household. I have a pet and like many that seen their commercial, their floors offer 92-97% scratch resistant. I also replaced my upstairs with their carpet that had additional plush and pet friendly. He then explained that because I have a business in my home that he would do the deal as commercial for this price instead of residential and it would be discounted approximately 20%. The appointment was booked within 3 days and the empire crew came to do the service.
On day one the Empire crew told me that they didn’t have the product for my carpet and they had to make a run to Home Depot to pick it up. This was very alarming to me because if you are doing a service and the product that you are installing is not available then you should not install it until it becomes available in your warehouse. Half of the empire crew ran to Home Depot while the remaining Empire crew continue to remove my old floors while waiting for the other half of the Empire crew to return with the product from Home Depot. The entire process took 5 days. When done, my floors had so much dust and my base molding that was also replaced looked so grey from the dust and the empires crew dirty gloves, when they were supposed to be white. I did not expect the empire crew to leave while the floors not shined up and retail ready like the product that I was showed to from the sales binder.
The following day I noticed that my floors were being scratch up from my pets nails. I waited approximately 7 days to see if once I clean and shine my floors that the visuals of the scratches would go away but in fact the scratches were definitely embedded into the floors permanently. I called Empire the 8th day to explain what was happening and requested someone to come have a look. I also took pictures and called and texted my original sales guy Ruby and he explained that the floors should not be doing this and that the product might be defaulted. He then gave me his Supervisor name Katelyn and phone number to tell her what was happening. I did exactly that and for 1 month Katelyn informed me that she has sent my pictures of the scratches to her Boss and will be getting in touch with never.
2 months have passed and I haven’t heard from anyone. I called Katelyn and said this is unprofessional and 2 months have passed and now my floors look horrible. I can even move a chair across my floors without it scratching and she said no this is not supposed to happen. In fact she told me she has empire floors as well and her children are so rough and her floors are fine. No scratches. I then requested for her to send someone immediately to come look at my floors. She send representative and he said this was a bad install and I had staples showing on my base board that was definitely not supposed to be. He took pictures, I showed him where the empire crew messed up my fireplace while installing the floors. My home is only 5 years old. He told me that because my deal was commercial that he only did inspections for residential and that he will send the pictures back to Katelyn and the commercial side would have to come out.
Now we are in the month of June 2021, this is 4 months later and I have called and called and nothing is being done. I had a appointment for June 10, 2021 for a representative to come and they were a no show. At this point I am beyond ends and I told the representative that I will be filling a report. Customer service has been the most unprofessional. The Company as a whole has been a disgrace. Unfortunately I would never refer Empire to anyone.

The salesman and I talked a lot about the carpets, and then we talked a little about golf 'cause he was wearing a golf shirt. I'm a golfer, and that set my mind at ease as far as salesmen go. With the installer, we kept thinking that it didn't make any sense that the guy was by himself, but he was right. He had an assistant, and there was a device that he brought with him. That was all he needed. I was shocked 'cause he did it all and got it all in by himself. I was pleased with his work and his effort. He did a good job.
The HOME Fresh Carpet seemed like a product that would be very sustainable in my basement. My basement's dry for the most part, but you never know, so that's why I wanted that carpet. Empire Today came up with a good idea as far as the padding that's attached to the carpet and it breathes. Plus, it's recyclable materials, which is good too. I'm happy with the carpet down there because of the design of it. Also, since there was some sort of a promo special going on, my wife decided she would like to replace the carpet in her office. She's pleased with that as well.

I would give Empire Today zero stars if it wasn't for the good work of the "independent" installers. First off, our salesperson misquoted the job (she didn't know the difference between our existing glued down floor vs floating - she is supposed to be a professional) and didn't even measure correctly - when the installers came, they were short product and had to come back a second day. Secondly, they had our phone number wrong (not even close) and moved our job out 2 weeks and we didn't know.
I took a day off work for the install and no one showed up. The number they were calling was a Nursing Home and we are a private residence. It didn't they occur to them that maybe they had the number wrong. Third, they charged us an extra $700 for a warranty we said we didn't want (and have record of saying no to) since the flooring supposedly comes with a lifetime warranty. They won't return our calls, their customer service laughed at our experience, social media rep won't help, corporate ignores our calls. This company is extremely shady. We completely regret ever choosing them. The experience was a total nightmare.

Well, they broke my water faucet outside, and tracked some kind of cement across my deck that I can’t get off. Then for over 2 weeks and several complaints I was stalked by one of the installers. Calling every 2 minutes and I blocked the number. Then started calling with a no caller ID all hours of the day and night. I tried reaching out to the sales lady Pam asking for help and she never responded. She disappeared as soon as the sale was done. Also, I asked several times on how to clean this with no response.

Empire had good deals. I had them do laminate wood flooring in the living room and the hallway. I’ve been in this house for 37 years and I wanted the flooring to last for the rest of my life. The salesperson showed me the best one and I like it. It’s 100% waterproof and durable. I have six animals in the house and my grandkids are here. We picked the color. The salesman was very knowledgeable there. The flooring looks like wood grain and you can feel the grain in the planks.
The installers got here at 9:00 in the morning. They snapped in the planks using a hammer. They left around 4:00 in the afternoon. It was just the two of them pushing the furniture here and there. The problem with the installers was the communication. One of them understood English but he couldn’t speak it. I had to talk to the other installer. Other than that, they worked fine and the flooring looks great. But the guys are coming back out to do some stuff. They put white quarter round down and it didn’t go with the brown floors and woodwork I have. That was one thing with the salesman. He had me sign papers and didn’t tell me that part was free because it was white. I didn’t think anything about it until I came into the house and it was white.
I called my salesman back. He got ahold of the installers' manager. He said that they would make it right. That was May 1st. I was supposed to talk to somebody but they put me on hold and never got to me. I called back six times before I got ahold of somebody to actually talk to about my flooring. We are now at the end of June and I finally got ahold of them to come out and fix it. Empire's customer service could be improved. You shouldn’t have to call five or six times to get ahold of somebody. Other than that, I love the way the flooring makes my house look so much better. Things are cleaner and it’s cooler.

I had laminate flooring as well as carpeting installed by Empire. The carpet was on the stairs and the laminate flooring was in the kitchen, living room, dining room, and foyer area. It was the whole first floor. The interaction with the installation team was fine even though they didn't speak a lot of English. They checked with me to make sure it was the floor that I was supposed to be getting. They worked and did everything.
The only thing was at the end, they were rushing. Their guy was trying to go around and look at stuff really quickly because they were trying to get out since they had been there all day. They noticed one thing they forgot and they hurried up, brought it in, and put it in. After they left and I was able to take my time, I noticed that they forgot another piece by my patio door. They left the nails protruding out by my patio door where the piece is supposed to go. I could also see where they stopped or cut off the end of the board. There was also a small hole in my wall behind a piece of furniture that I had. I wound up fixing the small hole myself.
I spoke with Empire on a couple of occasions. A lady just called me and apologized overly because of that. She scheduled for the installers to come out and repair the issues. They were supposed to come last week, on the 15th, but nobody showed up. I didn't receive a phone call either. Now, I had escalated the issue again. I called and they asked me if I wanted somebody to call me back so I requested for a callback. A young lady called me back and I told her what the issue was. She left me on hold to get customer service. I was on hold for over 30 minutes and she never came back so I just hung up.
Leaving your customer on hold that long and not coming back and saying anything is just downright rude. The rep could have come back and told me that nobody was answering and she had to put me in the queue. It almost made me feel like she put me on hold because she didn't want to have to deal with the escalation. I was looking to have Empire come out and give an estimate for my mom's house but at this point, I don't even want to deal with it. If I have to deal with the same type of thing with my mom's house, I don't want to deal with the frustration.
I got the flooring done first and it has been in for almost two months. The carpet was done after. When I asked the carpet people, "Can you guys just put the piece down so nobody gets hurt?" I have a five-year-old and a kitten. The installers said, "No, it has to be done by the people that did the floor." They were just there for the carpet. Now, the rep is calling me saying she put in another claim for an emergency and she's claiming the installers are going to come out on Friday to fix the issue. I've been dealing with this for over two months. At this point, I could've gone to Lowe's, done the measurement, had them cut me a piece, and put it in front of my patio door myself.
My floors are beautiful. It was just bad customer service and that ruined the whole experience for me. Everything was paid to Empire and it has taken this long just for one small piece. But I could guarantee that if something happened with my payment or I didn't pay them like I was supposed to, it wouldn't have taken that long for them to reach out to me trying to get some type of resolution regarding that. Now, I filed my claim with the Better Business Bureau because this was ridiculous.

Empire did carpets and blinds for me in three rooms and the stairs. I wanted a professional to do the job so I went with them. At first, the rep gave me a lower rate. After we approved of it, he gave me a different rate. I also wish I got a breakdown of what I was paying for. I wanted to know how much a room would cost and if I would be getting one room for free. I also wanted to know how much the blinds apiece were. Since I didn't get a breakdown, I don't know if I got a good deal. The whole package was $5,807 and Empire put us on a payment plan. Other than that, Empire did an excellent job and the installers were hard workers. I like the blinds and the windows. The carpet is clean and I like it too. I'm happy with everything.

This is a follow for a negative review I posted against Empire Flooring. After getting over my anger about them making me take a day off and not showing up for an installation I rescheduled for a couple days later. The installers called to advise me they were on their way. They arrived when they said they would. It took the 2 days they quoted. The flooring is exactly what we ordered. Installers worked their behinds off and did an excellent job. They even had to run out and pick up more 3/4" plywood for underlayment because our original hardwood flooring had been installed incorrectly. No additional charge. They reinstalled our baseboards and did a good job cleaning up. Very satisfied overall.

Contacted Empire for hardwood flooring. Rep came out and we purchased flooring and scheduled installation. Company called a couple days prior to install date to confirm. Took off from work to meet with installers. Called after a couple hours to check when they'd show. Was told they couldn't contact installer. Was told to call back later. Called 1 hour later and they again tried to contact installer. No contact. They advised me they would call me later with time for install. They called later to advise they couldn't make it today and wanted to reschedule for 3 days later. I requested to talk to a supervisor. Waited on hold for 20 minutes. Called several times after that and was told someone would check on this and get back shortly. Still waiting 4 hours later. They have my money and more time on their hands than I do.

But I said that I still see the commercials every now and then. This time, I picked a bit better grade of carpeting and I wanted a good padding because I don't want to do this again anytime soon. The second install went better, because the first time, they didn't bring the baseboards so they had to come back another Saturday. Also, they gave a three-hour period and they came at the end of it and didn’t leave until 9 o'clock at night. I felt bad for the guys that were working that late. At first, sales associate was very nice and appeared knowledgeable. We decided to go with Empire- even though they were not the cheapest but had high customer service rating and we liked our sales associate. We purchase laminate flooring in one room and industrial carpet in another. The laminate flooring was installed on time but we had to wait on the carpet. When installing the laminate they discovered they could not install the quarter round due to concrete walls- no solution offered and no refund. When carpet installers came the next day, they did not have enough carpet to do the job. The installers refused to come back only later to find out the reason- the carpet we were sold was of poor quality and would not work for the area we wanted.
Second installer came out with enough carpet and informed us he would not guarantee the carpet install and wanted us to sign-off that he was not responsible. Sales rep changed the carpet order and a third installer came out- installed the carpet and within 2 hours the carpet began coming up- glue did not hold. Now my sales rep will not answer the phone (sick)- installers did not speak English and will not answer the phone and the main installer number - I have left several messages with no reply. I'm not a carpet specialist. Tackless to me means no tacks being used. So I told him that if they were not going to use tacks, then I didn't want the carpet. So he cancelled it. But I didn't even know it was canceled. Then he transferred me to somebody else.
The second guy explained to me what tackless was and I told him that I understood it. He put my order back in the system but my installation date was no longer available and nobody told me that. So somebody called me to reschedule. Even the manager called me and he said, "Well, you say cancel, then they cancel it. That's just the way it works." Also, I had another estimate done on the family room, the area where I had Empire come out and give me the estimate for that, and it was $400 more than what I paid. I heard the price the rep said and then later on as we were talking, he made it $500 more than what he told me. Then he said, “Well, I have to step outside to talk to my supervisor to see if we can get it lower.” And he came back for 100 and some dollars cheaper. So I told him, “No, that's okay. I'll just go to another company and get it done.” Because it was $422 more than I got from Home Depot. And because it's a better grade carpet too, the color is very similar, but you wouldn't be able to tell.

We hired this company to install luxury vinyl in a bathroom, hallway, and stairway. Bathroom and hallway are good but stairway is unbelievable. There are raised nails/staples on every step that are a tripping hazard when you catch your socks on them. You can't walk barefoot because of the protruding nails/staples. On 5/17/21, I reached out to person who did the quote about a half hour after installer left (at 8pm) letting her know how disappointed I was with the result because she is local, thinking she would come and take pictures but she just referred my concern to Empire. She told me someone would call me the next day and no one did.
On 5/19/21, I called Empire Today and got a customer service agent who took my information down about the health hazard of the stairs and she gave me a reference/request # and said someone would call me in 24 "business hours". I asked how many "business hours" were in a day and she said 12. (Why not just say 2 days?) On 5/21/21, still no call and I called customer service again and was left on hold for 47 minutes before I finally hung up. We have open stairs to two different rooms and we were told the job did not include any trim work to cover the side of the stairs after the job was done. How is that possible? You do not leave the sheetrock and side views of the risers and original wooden stairs open without covering them with trim. Also, because the trim is missing, you can see that one of the risers is not straight.
All of the 14 stairs have multiple nail/staple protrusions. The miter cuts on the stairs do not match up so they filled them with putty of a different color. Two steps have 3 pieces of vinyl on them and not all the same color or grain direction. My main concern is the health and safety of my family using the stairs. No one seems to be concerned except me and my family. So far we have paid over $3000 and what is even scarier is that we are scheduled to have another bathroom floor installed in August, to which will be another $2000+. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

I had a new carpeting put in a few bedrooms. One carpet was pretty much the same throughout, and then one slightly different for the master bedroom. There was a bit of a screw-up in the installation. The salesperson underestimated the carpet that they needed by about 3 square feet. So when the installer did the measurements, he said he didn't have enough carpet. He came back the next day, and this time, he didn't have enough of the right carpet and need to come back a third time the next day to replace the one bedroom so it matched the rest of the upstairs. So it was somewhat of a time-consuming thing for me.
The installer did a very fine job. He was great. It was just the salesman misestimating, and whoever was the supplier, used two different dye batches. The back office took care of the issue and they were quite diligent in getting in contact with me. When they saw the problems, they were on it immediately. Overall, Empire Today is reasonable but they should make sure that the salesman knows what he's talking about.

But Empire couldn’t level the floors. The people are coming out here this morning to make a correction on my floors to level my floor so Empire can come out and put my floors in. I don’t have anything against Empire. I was just pissed but other than that, I don’t have any complaints with them as long as they do the job. My wife felt like we paid all this money and we were not getting the service we were supposed to be getting. Waterproofing is supposed to get out here any minute and then, I want Empire to come in and put down my floor. I’m getting tired of this project taking too long. But I like them. They do good work.

The installers were great and the sales representative was outstanding. Having Empire was a great experience. Considering moving and all that craziness going on, this was a relief. The only glitch was that they didn't cut enough carpet. Other than that, my new carpet is wonderful.

Spoke with several representatives and Dan **, Installation Manager, who assured me that installer would come on 5/19/21 between 1pm and 6pm CST. No show. Still waiting, it's 6:25pm CST. No call to explain why no one came, I've called customer service 1-800-588-2300 on 4 occasions and get the same answer. On the last call no one answered when rep. called (Israel) and left message. I was scheduled for service for Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring on Saturday, April 17, my day off, for my kitchen, powder room, and primary bathroom. The installers arrived and had one of the wrong products and tried to convince me it would look nice. I called the representative who admitted he forgot to go back and select my final decision on one product quickly indicated it was his birthday and he was off. He was not able to enter the correct product until the following week and the only other day I could accommodate the installers was on one of my telework days. The kitchen and powder room were big projects because they had to remove tile flooring. I left the installers removing the floors on the second floor while I worked in the basement.
Within 45 minutes, I checked on them and one installer had left the floor in the powder room and went to the primary bathroom and was near completion. Needless to say, he did not ask me what direction I wanted the tile and laid them how he wanted them. I was able to advise them on the other rooms. Not to mention, he cut a tile a little short near the tub. I mentioned it to him and he said he just needed to caulk it. I notified the Installation Team when they called and Janna told me they could redo that floor the way I wanted it, since I was paying for it.
On April 30, they sent another installer out to finish applying the transition strip in the kitchen, because they did not have the correct one at installation and he conducted an inspection of the primary bathroom floor and took pictures of the tile. I was told I would be contacted the next day regarding the inspection and was not. I called customer service and several days later, they did not have the inspection report. I finally got Janna in the Installation Department and she told me her manager, Dante, was still reviewing it, but she "promised" she would call me back. I have not heard from her and that was about four days ago. So, I called again yesterday, May 13, and some other young lady answered.
I am not sure if she thought she put me on hold, but I heard her say "what do you want me to tell her?" Then, she came back on the phone and said, "We are contacting the installer and will get back to you. I know you have heard that a lot, but I promise, I will call you back." I still have not heard from her. I am sure they are just as tired of me calling as I am calling them. But, we invested almost $3000 in this company and were inconvenienced on several occasions. At least honor your word and let me know the resolution.
I feel bad because I referred friends to Empire/Luna before my project was complete, and they contracted them for carpet for the installers to show up, look at the room, and tell them they did not have enough carpet to complete the job that day. It makes me look bad too. I can not refer anyone else to Empire, because customer services is lacking, and no one wants to debate with someone when they are spending their hard earned money.

Everything went really well with Empire, although the man who first came to measure measured wrong, and then they had to come back. But they came back the day they were saying, and they did a great job. I was very pleased. We used Empire when we bought a house in Florida and we were very pleased with the results that we went back to them.
This time, we had the product installed in one of our bedrooms and the living room. Then we had some put on the front porch. We chose brown for the living room and bedroom, and we chose a commercial grade for the porch. Everything is working really nice. The cost is well worth it. It's good-quality carpeting, and the installation was excellent. Empire should continue the good work. If we need more carpeting, we will definitely call again.

The men who came out and did my living room floor did a good job, but within 6mos the molding came a loose and took them 2mos to come out and replace it and now the molding that separates the living room from the den have also split, but my biggest concern was with Jessica whatever her position is. She is very rude, she is not at all concerned or sympathetic about your concerns are, my kitchen floor was also done by Empire, and it started to swell up on one piece of the laminate and they want to charge me over 200.00 to replace because they said it is the dishwasher that's leaking. Well it's just in one spot shouldn't the whole floor in the area of the dishwasher be damaged, when I explained to Jessica about the molding in the living room she said it would cost an additional 100.00 to come look at it.
Well I'm not paying for the molding to be replaced, because it should not have separated from the glue anyways, warranty or no warranty, and it took two months for me to get someone out here to even look at the kitchen because they claimed they never did my kitchen. Jessica even said some other company did it, I thought that was very inconsiderate of her to say this, now after speaking with her today I think she is very unprofessional and rude, and prejudice.

Updated on 08/12/2021: This is part 2 to my original review. I have received no resolution and no credit for the many "inconveniences" that Empire put us through during the ridiculous month long install, that were promised to us in early May. With every call I make to the 800 number I am told the same thing, that someone will call back in 24 hours and I have yet to receive a phone call. I have called the local affiliate "Andrea" numerous times in the last six weeks to inquire about our "credit" & to schedule the regrouting of my kitchen floor, that Empire was aware would need to be redone, days after it was completed, I am still waiting for a return call. I guess Empire thinks as long as they don't respond and continue to ignore you, that you'll go away. I've spent so much time making phone calls to Empire to resolve this, what's one more phone call? My next phone call is going to be to the Ohio Attorney General's office.
Original Review: The worst experience ever! If I could give negative 5 stars, I would. I will never recommend this company to anyone... family, friends, coworkers, not even enemies! I am limiting my review to my tile installation. My order was the Living room, Dining room, Entry hall, all to be done in hardwood. Kitchen in LVT. The kitchen is the smallest room at 189 sq. ft. I had hardwood installed on 4/9/21 which was completed on 4/12/21. LVT was to be installed in the kitchen on 4/10/21. A one day job,189 sq ft.
We hired Empire 3 years ago and had a pleasant experience with them. Definitely not the case this time. They get your money, pretty much up front, in the form of a hefty deposit, in our case $6,360.95 and then they require the balance before the installers will even unload the material and start the work, which they never seem to complete. You're between a rock and a hard place with these people. They string you along for weeks on end..They are full of endless excuses, apologies & incompetence.
On 4/24/2021 the tile is to be finished. I made arrangements for a disabled family member who lives in the home with a traumatic brain injury to be displaced for the day so the tile could be completed. This is two weeks after they started the 189 sq ft kitchen, they worked three hours and left! They returned Sunday morning & finished laying the tile, they had no grout! That's an entirely different story! Floor still not finished, Empire has been paid in full over $12,000.00 dollars since April 10. They wasted no time getting my $12,721.89. They have been to my home a total of four times, working 3.5 hours each time, to install the tile. Did I mention its189 sq ft??
Calls to customer service are useless, they don't care, they already have your money, and it’s been 4 weeks since they started the installation. Two different crews, short on product,, working 4 hours or less each time they show up, sales people that have ghosted you, reps calling to see how your install went? Are you kidding? I'm still waiting for the installation to be completed. Our original install date of Saturday 4/10/21 was set, no time off work required. Since they do not finish the work, they reschedule two more different days for installation on a weekday. As I explained to “Tammy” who called after every unsuccessful, incomplete, installation date, I cannot afford to take a day off work for Empire so called installations that never happen. I need every one of my sick days for breast cancer reconstruction surgery in May.
Another date of Saturday May 1st is given to finish the install, at 7:12 a.m that morning, I received a call from “Andrea” stating they would not be out to finish the tile because “the grout was not on the truck” and how sorry she was, and she would be looking into getting us a discount for all this trouble. What a train wreck this company is!
5/8/2021 the KITCHEN FLOOR IS FINALLY COMPLETED A MONTH LATER! Rep “Tammy” calls May 11th to see how the install went?? I told her the grout is cracked, and had shrunk in a few places, looks terrible and needs to be regrouted, also that my surgery was in a week and I would be focusing on that. She stated she would make a note of this, and that when I was well enough, to call back and they would fix the grout issue, when I mentioned to her that Andrea said she would be working on a discount, she stated she would give Andrea a “note” and that would be addressed when I call back to schedule the service call.
I'm having major surgery in less than a week, II will not be focused on Empire and when to call them back to schedule for the grout repair or my “discount”. This entire ordeal with them has been beyond stressful and infuriating. I have three more rooms in my home that will be upgraded in the future, Empire will not be getting our money a third time.

Seems to be a theme going on with the 1 star reviews. I too have now had the exact same experience of several others. Salesman comes, he’s great. I pick the floors, pay 25% non refundable, schedule the appointment, take the unpaid day off... Clear out the rooms which are a photography studio that can not be used now and a music studio which can not be used now.
I confirmed this installation twice by phone and 3 times by email! Day comes? No show. I call the call center? “Oh sorry, we don’t have the product.” "Nope, your salesman isn’t available, nope, no one is covering, nope there are no supervisor who can talk to you... but? I’ll put you on a call list and someone will call you within 24-72 hours."
I rarely, if ever, give bad reviews on companies. This one? Absolutely horrible customer service and follow through. No calls to make us aware of the product's unavailability (if that is even the truth). I'm out $855 so far for 25% + $240 I would have made at work today + $175 in a lost photography shoot + $350 in lost music lessons+++ because I have no idea when someone will contact me, if the floor will ever be available and if they will ever be installed. Incredibly disappointed.

I had a pipe burst in my ceiling from the Feb, 2021 freeze in Houston, TX. My ceiling came down and damaged my carpet as well. I had to have my carpet in my den area replaced. I called Empire Today and a sales rep visited me the next day. I picked out a similar color to the rest of the carpeting in my house from a book with carpet samples. I was promised that everything would be done in a very satisfactory manner. My carpet was installed March 10, 2021. At first, I did not notice that there were strange-looking streaks and splotches in the carpet. I called and was told someone would come to inspect it. On March 18, the "expert", who was also the person who installed the carpet, came to my house and said there was nothing wrong with the carpet.
Another person from Empire Today came by later and also said there was nothing wrong with the carpet. He hammered down some carpet stripping that was sticking up and said he would return with the part to replace that stripping. He never returned. I do not like how this carpet looks. I think it looks strange, as if it may have been damaged. I have cried and cried about this carpet. I did receive a call from another man with Empire Today who said he would talk about my issue with the "powers that be." He called later to say there was nothing they could do. The installers were great too. Byron was the lead installer. He did a nice job interacting with me. On the one recommendation that I have, they had to remove quite a bit of carpeting and ceramic tile. They also didn't come with a dump truck. They loaded everything into the van that they came into. They were there from sunup to past sundown at 11 PM.

I don't know what happened with his measurements. He did my hall, my foyer and my den. The carpet looked good. The quality is good, too. It's good work but my problem is how did he get all this carpet left. I recommended Empire to one of my friends, and they put carpet over there. I was happy with Empire's price and their selection. I got what I needed and it was pretty painless. They ran late on the installation appointment but I work from home, so it wasn't a big deal. The installer helped me out because I was going to have a closet door track installed after he put in the carpet. Previously, they had cut the carpet, like an empty strip so I could put a piece of wood and the track in there. He said "Don't worry about that. I'm gonna put plenty of padding so you can put the track over top of the carpet." So, I took his word for it and it seems okay.
However, the track is almost too low so it doesn't catch the track on the top of the door. The installer was nice enough to cut a piece of the track to fit the bottom track. I would have preferred to keep the board and put that in and have a firmer base. I was hoping the installer would be able to do that for me but he didn't. But, he said the track would be fine without it. It's working for now. I would recommend family and friends to use Empire.

I told my in-laws to call Empire. I told them what to tell them. They were doing our hallway and some steps. I told them to get commercial carpet because it's a lower nap, there's no tripping, there's no knot and get a very low or no padding. They installed the carpet and it looks great. But my in-laws’ feet, when they wear socks or slippers, they noticed that their feet are getting stuck on the steps and my mother-in-law's feet are bleeding.
So probably they used tackless on the steps. Usually on steps, depending on the particular steps, may they be concrete or wood, you have an option of either glued down, stapled down or tackless. These guys chose the wrong one, they chose tackless. They didn't give them any options. I guess they were elderly. I got back from my business trip and I said I'd handle it. It took a week just to get through to them. The phone numbers never answered. There were no callbacks. There was just no customer service and they were passing the buck. We finally got the guy who runs the local installation office and he said, “We're just gonna come down and we're gonna hammer down the tackless.” If you knew anything about tackless, that’s just not how it works. It needs to be pulled up and it needs to be glued or stapled and installed properly.
A couple of days later, a guy showed up. The guy was walking in with a hammer. I said, “What's the hammer for?” It was hard to communicate with him. I said, “When you install a certain type of carpet, like the low nap carpet, like a commercial carpet, which is in a quarter inch, what are your options when you're doing steps?” He said they usually staple. I said, “Put your hand on the steps.” He put his hand on the steps. I said, “Push down really hard.” He actually pricked his finger, because it's on every step. Even when you walk up with sneakers or shoes, your feet get stuck.
I said to him, “How could you even leave? Did you not feel this? When you're on the steps, you're usually on your knees doing this. What did you do here?” He said, “I'm gonna go out and get my hammer and I'm gonna hammer the stuff down.” I said, “That's not how it's gonna work. You're gonna remove the stuff and you're gonna either glue it or staple it, preferably staple it because it'd be a lot easier for you.” He said, “No, I'm not doing that. I'll have the supervisor call you.”
We got a call back from, not a supervisor, not anybody, we got a call back from customer service saying, “Due to the circumstances we’re never coming back to your house.” And that was it. They said, “Sorry.” As far as I'm concerned, I am done with Empire. I'd highly recommend people never ever use these folks. They were the worst experience I've had on a carpet in my entire life.

Empire Today's rep was very knowledgeable and made me feel that he had my best interests at heart. I got a call the morning of the installation. The guys told me they went around and would be here in half an hour. They arrived within the half hour, introduced themselves, and we walked through. They looked at the job and told me what they would do and gave me some ideas about covering areas to keep the dust down. And one guy showed me the order of what I would get. Asked me if I had any questions, and then they began work. They told me the flooring would settle in a couple of days. They didn't say I can’t walk on it. They told me how to clean it. Gave me some items to clean it with. They also cleaned it for me.
I had hardwood floor installed in the kitchen, hallway, and the living room. The way the flooring looks is great. The entrance as soon as you walk in the house is the first thing you see, and it goes through the hallway in. It set the exact sample for the rest of the downstairs flooring. However, I have a concern around my island. As you walk, you hear the wood creaking. I thought I would give it a few days to see if it went away. I understand that no floor is level, and there are dips in that. But it's just that one area around the island. It's a little loud. I was charged for underlaying but they didn't do any of that so that money was refunded back to me. And had I needed it, I would have rather it been done. But everything else, the quality is there.

I liked the idea that Empire's reps came to your home and that way, you could talk. The girl who came out was also excellent. She showed us everything and was very thorough. She gave us all our options and we pretty much went mostly top of the line. For the installation, I've never had carpeting before and didn't know how difficult it was to get everything in place to deal with the day. It's a tough day because you're moving around and when the installers got here, they didn't have the right proportion of carpeting. We had one kind going downstairs and one kind going upstairs. They were similar-looking, but they were different carpeting. One was Empire's top of the line where the padding was included with the carpeting, then we were putting a different carpeting downstairs but the padding was separate. And they didn't have one of those but we ended up working out because they got it from somebody else.
We also had a mix-up with the installation because we were having one small section in our dining room done where there wasn’t going to be carpet. We were going to have them cut out that part because I made it so if people came in, they could take their shoes off. And that was supposed to be done first but the installer cancelled on us. They called me the day before the afternoon they were supposed to do it and said that the project that they were working on that day ran long, so they had to change our schedule. And they could change us a week later. So, it wasn't my fault they ran long and it wasn’t me that wasn’t there. But they were able to do it and we worked with the main carpeting first. But I was told initially that they had to do that first section first then they went and said that that was not necessary.
The crew that came did a really good job though. They were very pleasant and were hard workers. But none of them spoke in English. When we had an issue, it was hard for their leader to understand me and me to understand him. He tried really hard but Empire needs to have somebody who can communicate with their customer where there's no misunderstanding. Another problem was the girl who was a contact person for the installation. I had a couple questions and she didn't get back to me. Other than that, we’re very happy with the product.

It is very good and I don't have to rag through. I can just run a wet mop to clean it. I had it out in my back bedroom. I have two sons that’s in wheelchairs, so I needed to get that carpet up. We had a pipe freeze and busted pipes back there, so we just did that part.

I had a prior experience with Empire Today when I looked at carpeting prices at my house before I moved, but it didn't work out because of the type of flooring we had. So I called Empire back when we moved because we needed all new flooring. Everything went really well and they were really helpful. The installers double checked everything, wore their face masks, and were very courteous of our time. They also called about a half an hour to an hour before they got here and when they came, they verified that the product was what we ordered. They were pretty much self-sufficient, just went in the room, did it and told us when they were done. The flooring looks great and we had no issues.

I loved my experience with Empire. It was wonderful. I'm enjoying my new carpet. It's so pretty. I thought the installer was going to come with the whole crew of people to help him. But he came by himself and I was like, "Who's gonna help you?" He was looking at me like I'm weird. He said, "No one." I said, "Really? You can do it by yourself? Okay, that's fine with me." and he went in there. Nobody heard him working. I almost forgot he was over in the other room because the door was pulled up. Then, I went over there and he was almost done. He wasn't even been here that long. He pulled that carpet out really fast. He did a tremendous job. He was finished really fast.

The salesman who came to my house was nice and he knew exactly what he was talking about. He took care of everything as well as made sure all the measurements were right. On the same week that he came out was the same week they came to install. I did two rooms. Unfortunately, the original flooring that I picked out for my living room wasn't available. My second choice ended up being the choice they put down. It’s the same model number, but the color was different. Still, it worked out overall.
I was also a little nervous at first because I noticed some little things. Once Empire Today completed the work though, it was perfect. I really liked the one in the basement. It stood out to me the most because of the details of what they did to it. They went beyond ‘cause they had to level it out. They did a good job with that in a timely manner. Also, we moved into the house the following week. When they took the carpet up, there was a gaping hole and they didn't have to put the baseboard that was left for us to put on. They put it on for us with no questions asked and made it look nice.

My sister had her house done and highly recommended Empire Today. I called the salesman, and he was wonderful. He was very knowledgeable. He's been with the company for many years, and he was very likable. He spent lots of time with us. He was great. On the other hand, there was a bit of a language barrier with the installers and installation took way longer than I thought it was going to take. However, I was thrilled with the end result. Empire Today is a great company. I would definitely use them again.

I liked the customer service from the Empire Today salesperson. She took her time. She wasn't trying to just sell me something. She offered positive feedback and she was a very nice lady. I love the finished floors. It was the laminated vinyl. I wanted something that was waterproof pretty much and that could withstand high traffic and would last me a while. The time frame they gave me was based on the time frame that I requested and it went off without a hitch. The gentleman did a superb job with my new flooring. It was very clean and neat.

It was a good thing that the installation of our vinyl flooring from Empire was done in one day. The installers came with masks on and we explained that we were both fully vaccinated. If they wanted to take their masks off, we felt that they would be safe. They were grateful for being given the chance to work without a mask. We like our flooring. It's definitely improved the value of the home. This kind of flooring is what everyone wants. They don't want carpet. They want the hardwood look.
About 10 days after the installation, the light fixture from the ceiling in the foyer area crashed and exploded onto the floor. After the cleanup that took quite a while, I had glass in the rooms beside it. There are scratches on a couple of pieces of the vinyl and Empire is coming on Friday to do a service call where they will replace the pieces that are scratched. That was relatively easy to set up and I'm really thankful that they are coming to fix that.

I got some pretty nice plush carpeting installed in our upstairs, four bedrooms, a hallway, and a stairway. The salesperson that came out first was awesome and very informative. The guys that installed it were very professional. They went over the same things again that the other guy had gone on just to make sure. They were really quick. I was surprised how quickly they were done. They were great. Whenever I walk on the carpet barefoot, it feels so good. I love it.
Trying to make the final payment over the phone was an absolute nightmare. The head of the installer crew was calling and they don't have a separate number that they can call just for that. So he was on hold for about 20 minutes before I finally said to let me try to call. So then, we were both holding, and I got through them before he did. But even when I got through, the rep still got enough information to where she still had to put me on hold till somebody else was available. When I got through, the whole thing took about 30 seconds. I had used my debit card for the downpayment, so they already had all my information on file. It was just basically needing a verbal authorization for the rest of the payment. In hindsight, I should have just given the guy a check. But nobody uses checks anymore. Empire Today should have a separate number for the crew that had just finished work and needed to call in and give the customer's payment.

The sales guy was a good salesman. He knew his product. He was very knowledgeable. I had some kind of squishy plush carpet installed in five bedrooms. The sales guy said that the install guys would call me a week before the installation. But they called a day before, and said they would be here sometime between 8:00 and 6:00 PM. The install guys called me about 10 AM and said they were on their way. They were here till 9:00 at night, and they still didn't do everything they were supposed to, not because they refused, but we finally just said that we would do it because it was 9:00 at night. Also, they only sent two people. The irritating part was if it was that big a job, the schedulers shouldn't have had them do another job before us.
We had two bedrooms that we had just painted and I kept telling the install guys, "These rooms just got painted, they were empty," but they still scuffed the wall. We didn't say anything to them because we didn't know till the day or two later when we started putting everything back. Also, they still didn't put all the furniture back like we were promised. They also need a new vacuum because they were not able to clean up. They had an old, rickety vacuum. We still have carpet shred everywhere. So my husband did most of the cleaning himself when he shouldn't have to. But they were very nice guys. One guy didn't speak English. But they still did a good job. Horrible experience!! Scheduled an installation date for one week out on a Friday. Received confirmation call on Wednesday, two days prior to install, so far we’re thinking everything was fine. Rep said they’d call between 730-9am on the install date with exact time of arrival. Thursday night, the day before install, received a missed call/got a voicemail saying they have to reschedule. Called right back and they were already closed. Now Friday, install day, we’re beyond the 3 day cancellation period and already paid 25%. We didn’t get the service agreed upon and weren’t called 3 days prior with any explanation as to why they need to reschedule or why they aren’t providing the services paid and agreed upon. The day of install we didn’t get a call and nobody showed.
We called and were on hold for over an hour and then told a manager would call back. No one called and we called them again to figure out what was going on. Then the rep said the date would be moved yet another week out, but couldn’t confirm the original appointment. Each rep we spoke to never knew about the conversation we had with the rep before them. I was told I was upset and they couldn’t accommodate me, but I said I lacked trust with them and wanted them to hold up their end of the business agreement/transaction. We’ve already paid the 25% deposit so I wasn’t asking to be accommodated. I asked for services we paid for. I was inconvenienced of having to take a day off work.
The rep said things happen unfortunately and they do not pay lost wages or give discounts for inconvenience. I asked if someone would come out the following day, but was told they are booked and couldn’t cancel on other customers. They have horrible service. There’s no manager available to talk to and the rep said only the local office schedules installs and the local office doesn’t have anyone to talk to, but the manager would call. We’re still waiting on a call and are without any confirmation of an install date scheduled or status of our deposit. Once you sign the contract, you’ll be out of your deposit and no services provided. I do not recommend Empire!

I used Empire at my previous condo and thought they did such a good job that I wanted to call them back. The sales process was super easy and I'm glad Empire had some really great COVID protocols in place. When I first made my appointment, I was able to get it in two days but I waited a little longer to make sure that my husband was also available. And then, my daughter was quarantined from her class, so I called Empire and canceled the appointment because I wouldn't be able to get her out of quarantine by the time I was able to reschedule. Then, I scheduled again. It was very easy.
This time around, we chose a thicker carpet that was recommended because we have a pet. Our salesperson came with a mask and was very good with us at keeping distance in regards to COVID especially while I had my son in the room. We specifically asked him what we can do because our dog sometimes gets the spreading of the carpet up. He showed us one that was thicker and actually softer on my eyes that we could have the best experience with the dogs. He did the measurements and everything went very well. The installers did well with moving the furniture out of the way and then helped move them back. I've already recommended Empire to my parents, and they used them for their carpet.

So, that was good. With the carpet, they were only there for the one day. It was just two guys and they were pretty good.
The Empire rep, Danielle, was really good. She was very prompt at calling or texting me back. There was some confusion on installation like who was installing first. So, the carpet guys were there the first day, and they were supposed to be there the second day. There was about a week delay. So, communication with the subcontractors could be a little bit better. It leveled it out where the dip was, but it didn't level the whole floor out. By the time we had gotten to walk around and feel everything out, it was too late to say anything. Another thing is when they installed the flooring upstairs, they knocked the nails through the roof on the back end. They said that all they could do was give me $200 and it's more than $200 worth of damage to the roof because we’re gonna have to get it all done. But when dealing with them, they’ve been courteous. They rescheduled it for a Friday and they got it all done in one day. The flooring seems to hold up well so far. I didn't go with a real high price product but it's made my home look brand new.
When they first come out, it's a very pushy sales talk. They don’t come out to advise you or be your friend, they come out to sell you the product and they want to book you that day. But if others want to go with other companies and see what other kinds of companies cost, go see Empire first. Luckily, we did. I had a fantastic experience when the sales rep came out to the house. It was pretty cut-and-dry, and didn't take up a lot of time, but definitely answered any questions I needed done. I was on a bit of a time crunch, and we were able to get everything finalized right then and there. Also, it was reasonably priced. Empire told me when the installation company would be calling. The installation company called me and let me know what time they were coming out, so I could be there or somebody over at age of 18. When they arrived, they asked to see the room, and I showed them the room and the areas. They assisted me with removing a dresser so they could get the carpet in. They did their job and they were there for a little bit. But it was a lot sooner than I expected it.
Before the installers left, they moved the dresser back in there, and then showed me everything they did, and asked me if I had any questions, which I didn't. All the seams looked perfectly intact. Nothing was popping out, including the little areas that met between the bathroom to the closet, and vice versa. Then I asked if they took the old carpet, and the installer said they took care of all that. So it was very straightforward and super simple. Customer service was about as fantastic as it can be since we didn't really go into great detail. My biggest concern was trying to figure out how I was going to move this old wet carpet and the fact that the installer offered to take it out was fantastic.

Empire owed us $2200 and they were supposed to pay us back. The rooms and the stairway were carpeting, but when they were going to do the wood floors on the main floor, I had to write another check for 19. They wanted their money before they even do any work. If you owe me 22, I shouldn’t have to write you a check for 19. Figure the difference. If they wrote me a check for $300, we were good, but they wouldn’t do it that way. It was a pain in the butt and it made no sense either.

We went to Home Depot, Lowe's and places like that, and we liked Empire's product better. We got the vinyl laminate flooring. The installation didn't go as I expected though. The crew came from Columbus, which is two hours away, so I understand them getting here at 10 o'clock in the morning. However, the installer had to leave and he was gone for almost an hour because he didn't have a certain tool that he needed. He had to run up to the hardware store, go buy one and then come back. That was an hour in delay. Also, the floor goes from the kitchen to the hallway to the bathroom. It's all one floor. There should have been more than just two guys here. Two more people would have worked great.
The crew was really nice and everything was clean, the way they left it, but they didn't leave here till almost 9 o'clock on a weeknight. We also moved everything back to where the things were. ‘Cause it was late at night, we couldn't just go ahead and get out of here. I wasn't pleased as well. They didn’t cut exactly the way it should have been. I have baseboard down, and you have to put three-quarter round baseboard around it to cover that up. If it wasn't for the three-quarter round baseboard, it would look like hell in certain spots.
Another thing is when the salesman came out, I already had a wood laminate on top of a vinyl floor on top of my sub floor. They were supposed to take up the wood laminate that was already down and if they needed to, they were going to take up the vinyl and get all the way down to the sub floor. They didn't have to because they could leave the vinyl floor under it, and that was fine. Put some floor leveler down in a couple of places and everything was okay. We were told by the salesman that if they did not have to go down to the sub floor, it would be $300 cheaper because they didn't have to rip the vinyl up.
When I saw the total bill, it included the $300. I called up the salesman and I said, “They didn't tear up the vinyl floor. The vinyl floor is still there.” He said, “Okay, I'll get back with you.” Four days later, I finally had to call him back because he never got back with me. He told me that the installer said that he pulled up the vinyl floor. I said, “The installer is incorrect. He's not telling you the truth. I still have the vinyl floor down. I know for a fact.” He then gave me a gentleman's name, his boss. I contacted him, and he asked me if I could give him a picture. I said, “How can I give you a picture? The floor’s laid.” He then asked me, “Is there a register somewhere in the room?” I told him there is.
In the kitchen, I pulled out the register, gently lifted up the new floor a little and took a picture of it. It showed the vinyl flooring was still there. He said, “Okay, that's what I needed. I'm going on vacation, and I'll put word through to deduct that $300 off. I'll be gone for another week or so.” Once he emailed me, I told him, “Well, can you do me a favor and follow up when you get back from vacation?” I haven't heard anything. I'm assuming the $300 was taken off, but I'll have to look at my next bill.

We are selling our home and two days before our showings were to start, one of our dogs tore up the carpet in a bedroom. After local companies were booking about two months out, we called to schedule an appointment with Empire to quote an install and thankfully, they could get us in that next day for a quote. The sales rep called us the day of the quote and said someone called in sick so he was double booked and asked if he could come another day, otherwise he wouldn't get there until 7 pm. Given the nature of the situation, we wanted to get something set-up ASAP and asked him to please honor our appointment and come that day, even if at 7 pm. He did arrive late that Friday evening. The appointment was very quick, almost rushed. We informed him we were selling and weren't looking to spend a lot, but something similar to what was already in the bedroom since listing pictures had already been taken.
He brought us out a sample of their lowest and next upgrade carpeting in those color tones. We went with the lowest grade, noting the color matched well but still didn't feel like cheap carpet in the sample. He also said we could ask the crew to stretch out our living room carpet since they would be working right in that area anyway - a perfect bonus! However, they couldn't get install until the following Thursday - but at least we could inform potential buyers the replacement was scheduled. He then left, but not before reminding us we would be getting a survey and 8's are no good. He doesn't get anything unless they are 9's or 10's. He told us this the last time he met with us for a prior year install too.
The day of the install, the crew arrived and did stretch our living room carpet for us - doing a great job with that! However, the bedroom carpet install itself left little to be desired. The following issues occurred:1) The carpet itself was incredibly short (aka "low-pile"). It was nothing like the sample we saw - which you could run your fingers through. The installed carpet was so short it barely moved (almost like office-grade carpet). What's even worse, it left a gap between the carpet and trim it is so short.
2) The tack strips are exposed along the edge. My husband went to go plug something in on a surge protector and actually bled from grazing the tack strip along the wall.
3) The closet door was not secured back on, it was simply set in place. My husband went to go open it and it fell onto him.
4) After getting our detailed bill, I noticed it appeared we were charged for them moving items (we had everything out of the room ourselves) and there weren't discounts previously discussed when they had installed our upstairs carpet. We had the same sales rep at that time and I recall him saying if they came back, there was some type of discount, but couldn't remember what it was about (Later on, I recall this being a quantity discount - if we bought the same carpet, the more we buy, it gets discounted).
Given the amount of issues above, I contacted customer service and a ticket was put in. Days later I was contacted by a local scheduler who said he could have the crew come back and put on the door - which we had already done since our house was being inspected by a Home Inspector that day. He then said as far as the pricing and quality of the carpet, that would have to be discussed with the sales rep Neil, which he would have him call me. Neil did call - and I'm not sure why he bothered. He was incredibly defensive and rude, even telling me he was in the middle of the airport in Nashville right now (keep in mind, he called me). He said he NEVER talks about discounts with people and he has family in the military and doesn't even offer them discounts. He always gives people the rock bottom price. And as for the carpet quality, quote "it is what it is. You chose the lower quality which is low pile".
I tried to reason with him, stating the color matched, but the quality was nothing like the sample he provided and he did mention a discount the last time he was here. This was just met with more defensiveness and feeling like a was just a burden to him, so I decided to let him know I could see I was catching him at a bad time and thanked him for his time. He said "Okay goodbye". This is certainly not someone I would have purchased something from had I seen this side when he came to our home to give us a quote! Almost $900 for a 10x15 bedroom with substandard install and carpet quality, met with an attitude from the salesman?! I will never use their service again and will certainly not recommend them to others as I had been after our first install (despite finding staples left behind - including one that had fallen into our dog's food dish)!

My friend had her family room done by Empire and she suggested them to me. The gentleman that came in was very good about explaining what was available and what they did and exactly what they were going to do, and how they were going to take care of everything. I was satisfied with what he said they were going to do. It sounded like they had plenty of experience at doing this job and guaranteed that, "We'll continue to come back if there's any problems."
They were good at coming back the first time around and they took care of some flaws, but they're not finished yet. I had to call them again. They did something improperly because I couldn't get the patio door open. On top of that, they dented my metal door. Instead of opening the door to use the nail gun, they just put it against the door and it put dents and took some of the paint off the bottom of the door. I could tell the installer knew what he was doing. However, how can he leave dents and think that a homeowner would be happy with that situation? It was nothing major, but for the money we put into it, I don't want damage done to the house while I'm having something new put in there. I want it to look nice.
Overall, Empire did a good job and it's beautiful. In some instances though, it should have been a little more professionally done. I asked the installer to put trim in the laundry room before he put the quarter inch in. He worked nice, and then he showed me. Because he didn't have enough trim, he just put the quarter round on top of the rubberized stuff that they put usually in the laundry room over a flooring. Why didn't he say something instead of doing that? On another spot, he knocked off a piece of wood and he didn't say anything. It was very obvious to me. He goes, "Well, I was doing this, and then it fell off." “Okay, what are you gonna do about it?"
Luckily, I found a piece of wood, then I found some wood glue, and that's okay. Also, the gentleman that was working with the installer, his helper, didn't speak any English at all. The installer was trying to guide him and he was the one that made some of the mistakes. I expected that if Empire was going to have installers, they were going to be experienced and I won't have a huge problem pop up.

The salesman gave us a sob story that his elderly father was missing and he was distracted and needed to go so he was going to give us the best deal ever and told us no other company could get our floors installed before Easter. So we felt bad for him and accepted his deal. The company called to schedule as he had promised, I took the day off of work because they can only give you a 10-hour window as to when they will arrive and then the day of the appointment never showed up. My husband called and then they told him that the product was out of stock and that they needed to reschedule.
So we scheduled again, took time off of work, they called to confirm the appointment, and then this morning when they are due to show up they leave a message that they are again out of product and need to reschedule again! Their customer service reps are rude and belligerent and no help at all and when I asked to talk to a manager she was worse. Salesman came to my house on 3/25/21. I looked at flooring samples while he measured. He then quoted me $21K on LVP on a color I didn't even choose claiming his manager told him I could save thousands on this color. Thousands? It's a 2000 sq ft house. I asked to see a breakdown of the prices - salesman said the installers would go over numbers with me. I asked what the cost was per sq ft and he said he was just a salesman and did not know but a manager would call me.
On Monday someone from Empire called and said they were coming on Tuesday to install the wrong flooring and hundreds of boxes of flooring had been ordered. I told her I had not agreed to that color and was still waiting on a breakdown of the numbers. Then a manager called and he still could not give me a breakdown of the numbers. He claimed that each room was $1194 and the $50 per room was a gimmick. When I said I was quoted $21 thousand dollars for LVP and asked for a breakdown of the numbers he said he would get back to me.
On Wednesday I had to call him because I thought my install was Thursday which is what my salesman Truby had told me. Needless to say, the manager still would not give me numbers at all, said I was not getting flooring from Empire and that my salesman had messed up my credit application. I wasn't financing flooring - I was using tax return money to pay for flooring!
I just wanted a breakdown of the numbers showing how they arrived at $21000 for LVP!!!! These people are liars and crooks! They throw out a huge number, can't justify it and then run when they can't explain to you that they are simply just trying to rip you off. I read over a dozen complaints just like mine. This company should quit wasting money on those stupid commercials and use that money to train some reputable people on customer services and ethics. What a huge waste of time!!!!

Worst possible experience. They made an installation date and no one called or showed up. We called them and they stated we should hear back by 11AM the next day on what happened. No one called and we called them again to figure out what was going on. Each Customer Service rep we spoke to never knew about the conversation we had with the rep before them. We were told we could get $100 (supposedly this is normally $50) for a missed installation due to the inconvenience of having to take a day off work and moving things in the house for a no-show and no communication. Then the new installation date came a week later and again no calls, and when we called, there was no record of our new installation date in the system and no reference of a discount. They wanted to set up installation for a week later... again. At this point we asked for the order to be cancelled.
This was a major inconvenience as time off was taken and we were told to move large items so that installation could take place; for the better part of a week we slept on the floor. Each Customer Support rep stated they were making reference #'s and notes in the system, but each new rep we spoke to saw no record of any of the conversations. We have filed a case with the BBB and I will be posting this experience in every venue available to me from Next Door, Yelp, Google, Facebook, Instagram, etc. I will be making sure the word goes out on this unacceptable lack of professional behavior.
Stay far away from this company, you will regret working with them and the experience will leave you feeling blatantly abused. Empire caused significant emotional distress - if you can understand the need to take precious time off and displacing your home and your family and be left waiting with no communication from a company you are waiting on coming to your home to perform a service. They give you a window of 8AM to 6PM and basically refuse to have a conversation or perform any troubleshooting until after the window has lapsed. They never had a manager available and never knew why the installers were not contacting us. This company has no regards for their customers. This is the best example of Corporate gaslighting of a customer base.

(Their phones were not working. It answered then hung up).
On Saturday morning I called the office again, phones still not working, emailed the installer that confirmed the appointment on Tuesday and sent a text to the sales rep I had met at my house for the initial estimate and sale. The Sales Rep William said he does not work with installers and the Installation manager Steven ** emailed and said his truck was missing my order and another person's order so he might get on next Tuesday, maybe. He would not provide me with a confirming date for the installation, since they had forgotten to even order my carpet.
I had already taken a day off of work and moved all of my family's stuff out of my three bedrooms into the living room Then I got to spend the weekend day moving everything back after they no-showed. After multiple calls and emails with the company to cancel my order and get my money back, they offered me $50 discount and told me I could get the carpet installed sometime at the end of April because they are busy right now. They also said they were really sorry but they don't know why they didn't bother to order my carpet. Empire came out and sold us Luxury Vinyl Planks for our entryway, kitchen and laundry room as well as carpeting for our dining room, living room, den, stairs and upstairs hallway. Then when they came out the installers said the kitchen is not level enough for Luxury Vinyl Planks so they left. The saleswoman came back out and started going over options before stating the Vinyl sheets would cost MORE than the LVP.
A simple Google search shows that LVP is more expensive than sheet vinyl (by a decent margin) and even Empire's website indicates sheet vinyl as the 'budget' option. The fact they didn't consider or even mention issues with required leveling in an older home and then tried to push a lesser product for more money after wasting our time is unforgivable so I advised the salesperson we would like the entire thing cancelled. Further I expect them to cancel the credit card they opened in our name and to remove any credit inquiry from our history. Very poor business practices and truly a bait and switch tactic to try and get higher margins on a lesser product. Won't ever do business with Empire again, can't be trusted.

The initial experience with the salesman was great. He seemed knowledgeable and professional. We explained our needs, including a sub-floor repair need in one room. The salesman indicated that the installers should be able to take care of it, but there would be an additional charge at the time of installation. He was not just an Empire salesman, as he informed us that he also had a construction company that he sold for. The salesman inspected the flooring damage and represented himself as an authority in what his installers could/would be able to do. He also talked about the quality contractors Empire uses for installation. We purchased carpet for 4 rooms and laminate wood flooring for the stairs and landing. Installation was scheduled for two weeks later.
In the days prior to installation, we prepped the rooms, moving 4 rooms of belongings, small furniture items and home gym equipment to other areas in our home. We were set, took installation day off from work, excited to finally replace 28 year old carpet. Installation day finally arrived Today. A call was received from the first crew of carpet installers, they were on the way. Upon arriving, they were shown the rooms and the sub-floor area needing repair. After apparent confusion and language barriers, we were finally understanding they were not aware of the flooring repair issue, were not prepared nor knew they had been contracted to repair it. Only stating "they don`t do".
We then called the salesman, who started back-peddling. He stated he would call the installation manager and get back to us. In the meantime, the installers were re-measuring the rooms to be carpeted and informed us they did not have enough carpet for the job. So, back to the phone with the salesman we go. The return call to the salesman produced the suggestion from him to just go-ahead with three rooms and get a reimbursement for the floor issue room. Completely unacceptable. He then said he would get back to us with a solution. We had the installers hold off, until we had a resolution from the salesman.
The installers went to their vehicle, apparently called their boss, then came back to the door saying they were leaving and we should call customer service. We then did call customer service. We were told we had to file a Service Request and someone would be back to us in 24 hours. Again, completely unacceptable regarding response, return call timing and sense of urgency considering the installation was today, but we did proceed with filing the Service Request process.
About 30 minutes later, the laminate installer for the stairs arrived. He looked at the stairs and hesitated, then began explaining about having to re-cut the stairs pieces and trying to wedge pieces in and try to make it work...and it should be OK, just not quite flush but the molding should cover it. The hesitancy and "shoulds" and "try" did not instill us with any confidence, especially considering what we had already been through in the last hour.
At that point, the salesman called back apologizing and stepping up to take responsibility for the inability for repair, which was nice, but didn't resolve our problem. He again suggested going ahead with the stairs/landing and 3 rooms. Being extremely frustrated with the over-promise/under-deliver, concerns over installer skill/quality and seemingly lack of a 'make it right' mentality of Empire overall, we canceled the entire installation and order. We had paid in full at purchase and when we inquired about getting the project refunded, were told it would take 7-10 days to process a credit refund back to our card. Again, unacceptable response.
This all could have been avoided with upfront sales, stating they can't repair the sub-floor at the time of consultation, rather than just going for the sale with an unfulfillable promise (as we could have had the floor repaired in the two weeks between contract and installation), shipping proper (even slight overage) quantity of product for the size of the job and having competent installation personnel.

We used Empire approximately a year earlier for some flooring in a different area of the house. When we used them again, they were easy-going. We got a mid-grade laminate. It's fine for what we need it. But they subcontract out their flooring and the communication between the agreement on what's going to be performed from Empire on paper versus what's given to the contractor doesn’t get passed along. So that contractor is skeptical on what’s included. Overall, Empire is fine but they need to pass on what the agreement is to the contractor, so that way they wouldn't have that problem.

Scheduling the salesperson to come out was easy. It was through their online service. He came out and then took measurements and gave me a quote. The only thing that sucked about that was he said, “This price is only good for today.” They put me on the spot. I said, “I'm not giving you an answer today.” A couple of days later, I called him and said that we did want to go with it but he still held the price for me. Then when the installer came out, he didn't have enough carpet. Empire should check on their installers on jobs and not have people come back that aren't good. There are also stains on the carpet that I don't think should be showing.

We have a home in Indiana, and we've had carpet from Empire installed there. And then, we saw in the newspaper that it was 75% off so we thought we’d replace the carpet in our Florida home. We're happy with the carpet, and the installers were great. The carpet is gonna hold up well. The salesman said that was the best one, and it isn't as spongy as the last one we had. It seems like it will wear well. Empire Today is a lot easier than trying to get samples from a carpet store and coming back and fooling around. It’s easy. They came one day. And then they came the next day and did the whole job.

I had my carpet replaced with hardwood floor on the hallway of the second floor of my home and the sales rep that I dealt with at Empire Today was very good. But when we talked about the floor, I mentioned to him that I wanted the floor glued down. Then, I don't know if there was just miscommunication between him and myself, but when the installers came to put the floor in, they said they came to install a floating floor. One of them called in to their boss, then they had to get in contact with the sales rep. It all worked out, but I ended up paying an additional $300 and some for the floor to be glued down. And before we got that all settled, it was about an hour and a half to two hours before the installers could even start doing the work because they had to get this issue resolved. Other than that, the work was done professionally and I'm really satisfied with the floor.

The customer service fine. The process was easy because I knew just about what to do and what I was looking for. So it was okay. I chose the vinyl laminate flooring. I like the colors because it matches with my kitchen. It feels good to my floor and it brightens up my kitchen and my dining room. My floor fine. I'm enjoying it.

With Empire, it was very convenient because we could have someone come to the house to show us samples and we could get nice-sized samples to view with our paint color. The quality of the carpet for the price was also better with Empire than what we found in the home improvement stores. The rep who came here was awesome as well. He was super friendly and respectful of our home and of us. The new flooring looks fantastic. It's soft and durable, so we're very happy with it.

This has been the absolute worst experience! We ordered both carpet and vinyl plank flooring. At the start, the sales guy had issues entering the sale cost and financing of our order and said he would adjust it later. He did not. On the days of install (separate for both carpet and plank) I made the requested payments before the installation and was told it was paid in full. But then, 2 months after the job was done (more on that later) they are harassing me and telling me that I owe $2278.69 MORE. When I explained why that is not the case, I then receive a letter, now 3 months after install, telling me that now I owe $2841.87...so an additional $563.18 than they claimed I owed previously. Fast forward several more weeks...they are asking for a new amount. It's very clear that this company has zero competence when it comes to sales, accounting and customer service. The amount of calls and emails I have received regarding this is absolutely over the top. I owe this company nothing more.
Now for the quality of the work. When the original flooring was removed a saw was used, but nothing around the area where the sawing was occurring was protected. I have air vents absolutely full of sawdust, I had to replace an upholstered chair that was ruined on one side due to them sawing directly next to it as well. Further, once the floor was laid, they threw away my original trim and installed trim that doesn't match and was not cut to fit at all. In addition, I have several spots where they didn't place the trim or return the base board, leaving just a bare wall space. They also cracked an expensive dresser and broke a ceiling light moving bedroom furniture. Last, the plank flooring bounces up and down in several places when walked across.
No one from the company ever contacted me to ask how the job went or if we were satisfied and we absolutely didn't reach out to them as we did not want them back in our home to make further mess or ruin anything else as its clear that they have no idea what they are doing. We are so very disappointed with the job this company did and even more so for the apparent "shake down" for more money. Avoid them if you can!
David, we take your concerns very seriously and will be in touch with you shortly to discuss your experience.

If I could give zero stars I would. We signed a contract because they said they could install the LVP on Wednesday 3/10. Then the sales person called to set it up after I paid the deposit (which by the way they charged more than they should have, more than the contract called for) and nope, can't do Wednesday, it will have to be Thursday. Ok, inconvenient because I work from home and the 1st room done was to be my office which we had emptied out. BTW they tell you arrival will be between 8am and 6 pm, that is all they can do. So Thursday at 1230 I finally get to speak to someone AFTER waiting 54 minutes on hold and nope, the crew didn't show up so it will have to be Friday 3/12. They said call after 1030 if the crew has not shown up by then and they can give you a better estimate of arrival.
So after waiting a total of 2 hours and 5 minutes on hold, nope not on the schedule for today. I say, "Why didn't some one call me?? This is crazy! Are you coming tomorrow," "No. Can't come tomorrow. Maybe Monday." I ask for a supervisor, I'm told, "I am the manager." I ask, "So you don't have a boss? That is who I want to speak to," "Nope. Not available," "Ok have them call me," nothing but crickets, no call back, no reply to any of the voice messages I left nor any response to my emails to them. You cannot call anyone directly except your sales person who can only tell you she is sorry for the inconvenience! When you call the customer service or install department be prepared to wait. I have been 54th, 78th, 125th and 147th in line for a call back or to speak to someone! Absolutely horrible service!!
So today, Monday we get a call that the carpet isn't in the warehouse yet so they can't install it today it will have to be tomorrow. Back on the phone trying to reach someone to help us straighten this out. Finally get a call and as soon as we answer they hang up. Call right back, back to the end of the line, 3 times this happened in one day. So finally get to talk to someone and explain that they need to install the LVP tomorrow, not the carpet. Nope, can't do that. Next available is 3/24 TWO full weeks after they promised it would be installed AND this is not for certain, might not happen in the 24th.
I have NEVER had to deal with such dishonesty and incompetence. I am just trying to save someone else the frustration and disappointment we have had in dealing with Empire. BEWARE, no local #, no local office, the sales people will NOT help you, say they "can't" that they will get in trouble for giving you names or numbers of the managers. We never thought they could possibly be this bad, we were WRONG! ZERO stars would be too many for Empire!
Vicki, this is not the experience that we wish for our customers, and sincerely apologize for your experience. We'll be in touch with you soon to learn more.

The first time out, the sales rep was easy. He showed me all the floors and explained everything to me. It was a 0% financing for the year. I got something in the mail that said the 50-50-50 or 75%. I called the company and they told me I had to call my sales rep. I asked him which was a little uncomfortable because the company sent me something then they told me to go ask somebody else. But he said he was using the best deal for me.
When the installers came, they took a few hours to do my daughter's room. About a year later, I decided to do my bedroom. Because I had the credit and made some payments, I had some money balance leftover. I refinanced my floor and they did it in two, three hours. I'm pretty happy with the floors. I would love to do my downstairs or my carpet, but I have to wait till I pay off some of the credit.
I was a little disappointed when my sister got her whole downstairs flooring and they said I wasn't eligible for the referral fee. She had my sales rep. I was in contact with him and he said something like she got it after or before, but she got it after me. My neighbors called them and he was going to get me the referral. But he decided not to go with Empire because it was too expensive.

Two years ago we called Empire, based on their reputation, to install carpet in our living room and hallway, large downstairs family room and vinyl flooring in our foyer. Very nice man came out the day after we called and spent a lot of time with us picking out our carpet. We chose a medium pile carpet, high quality for living room, and a VERY high quality Berber carpet for our family room and a beautiful vinyl tile for the foyer. The foyer tile was installed first and it was and is beautiful. The installers did a wonderful job! Then they came to install the living room. Again they did a fine job. Last came the Berber in the family room. It had to be seamed and the seam is in a high traffic area which we were not happy with.
Fast forward one year. Living room carpet has worn pretty well but now looks like a carpet you'd see in a model home. Some stains come out but not without vigorous scrubbing. We were told it was pretty much stain free and the coating it had would keep liquids from seeping through to the very expensive pad. NOT TRUE! The berber carpet looks about 10 years old, in fact my daughter's berber, which is 15+ years old looks much better and it's had spaghetti spilled on it, dog and kids poop and pee on it, has been professionally cleaned a vast number of times and still looks great. Mine on the other hand has pulls in the loops (which we were told it wouldn't do) and the seam line is virtually falling apart! Even in places that have NO traffic, such as behind a chair!
I called Empire and talked to a VERY rude lady and told her our problem and just asked for someone to come out and look at it. She refused saying we had to have the carpet cleaned first!! I told her that cleaning it would just pull more loops and she nastily insisted we have it professionally cleaned, at OUR expense before they would even consider sending someone to just LOOK at it! I don't even vacuum it if not absolutely necessary as I'm afraid it will pull all the loops up! We paid $8000 for the carpet and tile and still OWE $5000! I will NEVER use Empire again as they refuse to stand behind their faulty product and won't even give us the courtesy of sending someone to look at it. I would highly advise anyone who is considering Empire to go look somewhere else. This may be an isolated incident, I don't know but I am absolutely furious and will report them to anyplace I can find to report how they treat their customers and install faulty products.

I purchased carpet from them on March 2 March for a pipe burst in my basement where this carpet was going to be installed. I filed a claim and on March 6 call to cancel the carpet obviously because I can’t have it installed any destroyed basement. I was told I missed the canceling window by one day and that they would be keeping my deposit of $900 I could use as a credit later for any of the other services. This is a new home and I don’t need anything else so. When I explain this to them I was told, "Too bad. Missed the cancellation by one day." Guess I guess my pipe should have burst 1 day earlier then. I wouldn’t be out 900.00 on top of all the other repair costs... 0 understanding. 0 care for anything but their money... Never use this money greedy company!!

Worst decision I ever made was allowing These people into my home. I was robbed $2550. They sent a family of 4 to my home to install my cheaply made carpet. Two young children around ages 11 and 13 a gentleman and his petite wife. The gentleman knocked on my door and said he was here to install carpet requesting remaining balance from my husband. Once he paid the gentleman walked outside and came back with his family.
I pulled in the driveway to see young children cutting what was to be my padding for my carpet in the RAIN. I quickly told them we would not be installing carpet today. One it is raining now and you are not about to ruin my new carpet in the rain and two there are child labor laws. I asked this family to leave my home. I then proceeded to call customer service to request a refund because this type of installation was not what I signed up for number one and number two there is a pandemic out here and kids are the worst at washing their hands.
I feel Empire put my whole family at risk. Thank you empire!!! I was informed it’s out of my 3 day cancellation window and they will not refund me. I will take this to the news to court whatever I must do get the money empire has Robbed me from. I can’t help it’s out of a 3 day window when I signed a contract in January and you didn’t have a opening until March to install and even so I did not sign approval for illegal work to be done. There are child labor laws and I do have video of these children in my driveway cutting padding that I intend to take to court with me if that’s what I have to do to receive my full refund back.

After I got the initial quote from Empire, I bumped that up with a local competitor in my area. The second price that I got was somewhat lower. However, there was not a guarantee that it included everything that Empire's price included. So I felt comfortable with going with the Empire. There was a lot of heartburn that happened throughout the process. When the installers got there, they pulled up the floor, just to realize that we did not upfront check the product that we had ordered, which was the wrong product. So it took about a week or so to get the product in and that was a little bit of an unexpected stress. But Empire made sure to really prioritize the situation and get it done, and it turned out well.

I had Empire do 4 areas of carpet in my home in 2018 in 2020 I realized that the rug was buckling in 3 out of 4 rooms/areas. When I called up they informed me that I would have to pay $100 per room to have it fixed. I was extremely upset because when Terry ** from NJ was at our home selling the product he assured us that these rugs were completely warranted. A few weeks later I decided to call Terry. Personally he said that it didn’t sound right. He would try to resolve it and get back to me in no more than 4 days. It’s been way over that & He still has not had the decency to call me back.

Empire Today gave me such a hassle at the beginning. When the salesman was here, I just talked to him and he agreed with everything I said. But when it came time to it, it was like they didn't even pay any attention to what I said. So I told him that he wouldn't listen to me and that they were not worth my money and then I asked to cancel the whole thing. Right after I told him to cancel it, the installer showed up and the installer said that he could get this done for me and it'd be great. He was the perfect installer I ever met in my entire life, so I decided to go for it. I've had the wood planks installed in the living room. It’s beautiful. He was here at 11:00 or so and he left at 6:00. He did a fantastic job. Once the installation was completed, I was better.

I had one little hiccup where Empire Today told me the carpet was supposed to come in and it didn’t. But it came in a couple of days later. The price was unbelievable. I compare prices with Avalon Flooring, and it was almost half the price. The guys came in and they were so professional. They had the carpet installed on my stairs. They had to cut it to fit the stairs. And it was a pattern, so it wasn’t easy. They did it in under three hours. They cleaned up everything. They vacuumed. You wouldn’t even know they were there.

Empire Today installed the carpeting and flooring. I disconnected my washer and dryer for the contract and the installers connected the washer and dryer back. But the water drainage was not properly put. So now, there was another flood after all that new carpeting had been put in. I'm having a problem with Empire because they want me to file a new claim stating that it was my fault. But during the installation, I was not downstairs or in the area to see everything that was going on until it was completed and asked to sign papers. I've been a great customer with Empire Today and I've also referred them to different clients that I have. But I'm very disappointed going through this type of action by not correcting the problem.
