I like the rep's flexibility. The carpet is expensive, but it's worth it.

Empire Today was fantastic right from the salesman who was not pushy. I called him 'cause he was also recommended by my niece. The experience was great. The guys who did the installation were super. They came and did the job in a day and a half. The job is fantastic. I had them come back and do the rest of my home. No complaints there either. They get right to work and clean up after themselves. Here, they ripped up carpeting and hardwood floor. You wouldn't even know they were in the house. Before you know it, the floor is down and it's superb. I would recommend Empire Today. The quality of the flooring is fabulous. My son just bought a house and they did work at his house too.

Years ago, I had carpeting put in both bedrooms by Empire Today. Then I had the carpet removed in one of the rooms to have flooring put in. The last project I had was I had flooring put in my bedroom. My sales representative, Darryl, was wonderful. He showed me all the samples. He took his time and didn't try to rush me. He followed up afterwards. The installer's name was Carlos. He was exceptional. He went the extra mile for me at the end when I had something put down underneath my furniture's legs so it wouldn't mess the floor up. He went out of his way to get that for me. I did referrals on both of them and let them know how happy I was with the salesman and the installer. The flooring is great. I like the color and the style. It is waterproof. I'm happy with my choice. Right now, I'm waiting for the extra pieces that Darryl's gonna be getting because they didn't leave any extra pieces in case of any problems. They're following up with me on that to get me some extra panels.

Empire Today was great. I've used them before in the past and it was such a quick turnaround. Our salesperson was excellent, and the installation was seamless, quick and very professional. We did carpeting downstairs, upstairs, and on a hallway. It looks great. I was very satisfied and I'll be using Empire again in the future.

Empire's rep, Max, was great and he gave me all the options as far as the financing was concerned. They give you one price for the whole thing but at the time, there were a lot of different factors on my end on the finance part. If the option they gave me was to do everything at once, I wouldn't have gone with them. Also, I picked one flooring then changed it, and Max came up to my work and showed me some other ones. Then I finally made the final decision and got the dark wood vinyl planks, which were installed in the master bedroom.
The installers were on time. I wasn't and they waited for me to get there. They were very efficient and clean. It was raining that day, so I put a towel down on the front door and they brought in the flooring. When I opened my garage, there was a space that they had cut right thereBut they went with the Swiffer afterwards and cleaned my whole little foyer thing. They were very fast and and the installation took about four hours. They did everything that I thought of. I love the new flooring and I plan to do the whole house, but I'm doing it in stages which was was one of the options that Max had offered. For maintenance, one of the installers, Francisco, told me not to sweep or mop anything. He said that I've got to wipe the flooring, then I could use that Swiffer thing. But I haven't even done any of that. It looks great and nobody really goes in my room.

The rep brought out 10 different samples and knew what he was talking about 100%. He was very polite. The installation team called before they came. It was about 1,500 square feet of carpet with padding. It took them two and a half hours. They were very quick, clean, and professional.

Somebody with Empire Today came to the home to do an assessment. He gave me good information about the carpet. There was no coercion. Most of what was done, I was very happy with. I've also done business with Empire before, and they did excellent work.
One thing was there was a little bit of communication gap with the installers ‘cause they didn't speak English well. I also noticed a couple of days after they had gone when I went to move the dresser that the leg was broken. This is an extremely expensive, nice set. I was disappointed so I called and got an incident number about that. There was also one or two spots where the carpet in the closet, they didn't push it the whole way up against the wall. There's a gap. But it's a 1,800 square feet of carpet. It was a big job. They were here from 8:30 in the morning until 10:30 at night. The carpet looks nice, especially when you vacuum it. But I got a notice from Empire that the wrong form in order to select if I wanted the 0% per year or 48-months at 11.9 had been used. I don't even know if they processed everything completely in the system so I gotta get that back to them.

The sales person was excellent. She was right on time. She has everything prepared. We really loved working with her. We carpeted two bedrooms, a hallway, and the basement. But the installation guys took forever. They didn't clean up behind themselves. So I chased them around with shop rags. But besides that, it was okay. We’re very happy with the quality.

The first time I called Empire Today, I got an appointment and the reps never showed. So I called customer service but the rep could not get in touch with the salesmen. They made it for the week later and there was no problem since that point. I got laminate flooring installed in two rooms and it’s very pretty. The gentleman was very nice. He came with three other people and it was installed very nicely. My only problem is nobody knew exactly what I could use on the floors for cleaning, which is important. The customer service rep sent me a booklet but it didn't say what you needed to do on the laminate flooring. I would still recommend Empire. They are pricey but they're prompt, fit you in and do a good job.

Everything was fine in my experience with Empire Today. It was done in a professional manner. They called, came out and did the job. They cleaned up and the person who set everything up for us came out and showed us patterns. She was good as well. The installation was fine too. They removed what was already in there and then put down a new floor. The quality of the flooring looks really nice. I would recommend Empire to someone else.

The installation was fine and the carpeting is good but we were misrepresented. The rep said there would be no payments or no interest for a year. We went through Wells Fargo, and now they're saying there's a monthly payment. I spoke to Empire Today and they claim that that's not on their end, that's on Wells Fargo's. I called Wells Fargo and they said, “No way do we do that. It's definitely Empire."

We wanted a new carpet and we told them what we want. The rep brought in some stuff and we picked out the color we wanted right away. What he brought in was good because those were the colors we were looking for. Then, the installer was here a couple of days later and put it in. The installer did fabulous.
The salesman just messed up a little bit on it because he told me it was $1,000. Then, when they called me for payment, it was 1,100. They called the salesman and they called me back a day or two later. They said they were going to credit me back $100 because it was their mistake. It was good that they honored it.

I had hardwood flooring installed by Empire Today. The quality is very good. I was very pleased with the workmanship that the installers did. I was also pretty pleased with how fast they worked. In five hours, they were done. They were an excellent team and they all worked together. The sales team came twice. The first time, we picked out the wood. We wanted to match the wood we had on some other flooring. We didn't wanna do the whole floor that we ended up doing anyways, but the first time the installers were here, the gentleman said, "This is not gonna match with what you have over on that." So then, we called him up and said, "No, we canceled it." The same guy came out with the product to show. He put the thing on the floor so we could match it together.

I have had Empire Today in my home in Fayetteville, and they did a beautiful job. A young lady came out here in Florida and explained everything to me, and I was excited because I wanted to redo my sister's her floors and make them look nice. I knew what I wanted and I told the rep that. She was just a seller. So, she reassured me that everything would be done and it would be done right and professionally. We arranged for the floors to be put down. They had to come in and pick up the floors, but only one guy could pick them up to put down the tiles that I ordered.
They did what they had to do, and they were supposed to have done it so that the next day, the crew could come in there and do what they had to do, which was to put the tile down. They did it in a day, but one of them could only speak English, and he wouldn't talk to me. I would ask him things. It was, “You mind your business. This is what I do, so you stay out of it.” I said, “I don't like the way this looks,” because the floors are beautiful because of the vinyl that I picked, it just makes the house look very good. But they put some cheap, very skinny base boards.
The seller had reassured me that I would get quality care for the baseboard. So, I called Empire Today back and said I'm not happy. The guy came out and I could see the amount of baseboards he had. I had been looking at the style in doctors’ offices and other businesses, and it looks nice. But that inch-and-a-half piece that they put there, they put them in and they wouldn't make sure that they fit around the baseboards. They're coming up.
I paid a guy last weekend to get started on getting them up and putting in new wood. So, that's more money. I had to end up buying the material. Plus paying him for his labor. And we're still not through. I'm at a standstill because Empire Today said that they would get back with me. I've done everything I could do to let them know it's not quality work. So it takes off from all this money. I spent $11,000. I want it right. I don't like people coming in, and they don't understand.
I've been calling Empire Today.I got an 800 number. That's how I get them. Now if I go through the local number, I could just forget it. I wouldn't get any answer. But if I do the 800 number that you see on television, they would get back with me. I had one contact person. I left messages for her and customer service, but they haven't called me back. That's not the way they acted towards me in Atlanta. They were there. They did a quality job. They followed up. I recommended them to another friend of mine because that's how good they were there. But there’s something wrong down here in Florida. I just left a place, and they're rude. I'm very disappointed.
Montez, this is not how we like to do business, and we deeply apologize for the lack of response on our end. You deserve immediate attention, and we hope we can turn this around for you. We’ve located your account and will work closely with you to rectify this matter.

Updated on 03/01/2023: Update on Empire. They contacted us after we wrote the review. After explaining multiple problems they decided to send a field manager out. We were thankful for that, but he won't be here until April 3, which is over a month away. When we questioned why it would be over a month before he could come out customer service explained that he was booked solid until then. They explained there is only one field manager. We are disappointed to have to wait that long to resolve these issues.
Original: The installation of flooring is crooked, 2 doorways were not done correctly, two closets were not finished. Installers took an extra day to install the flooring, and installers would not correct these issues we brought to their attention. We tried several times to get hold of Empire while in installers were working but could never talk to a live person, always had to leave messages. Very disappointed with Empire Today and the customer service they really don't provide. We went with Empire today because they have been in business for so long, and we wanted quality work. As of now I have made several calls today only to get recordings. They really do not have 24-7 services.
Sally, we take your concerns seriously and would like to know more. We've located your order and will contact you in the next 24 hours to discuss a resolution.

I purchased carpet through Empire Today, and it went to the bottom landing of the stairs, the top landing, and two bedrooms. My daughter and her husband have used Empire a couple of times, and they recommended it. The sales rep was a joy to work with. He was extremely good, very knowledgeable, and nice as he can be. I couldn't say anything nicer about him. He brought in a wide range of the three different grades and explained it all and was very patient with me trying to decide what to do.
The installer showed up. He was across the street at the wrong house, and I had to go chase him down. Then he came in, installed the carpeting, and had me walk through to look at it. At that point in time, I thought everything looked good but having walked on it and vacuumed it a couple of times, there were a couple of areas that I wanted to address. There was carpet in my bedroom already. So, the carpet that he installed had to butt up to that carpet, and the seams weren't very good. Then you could tell where the seams coming out of both of the bedrooms were.
Then going into the fourth bedroom, I had luxury vinyl plank put in there. Either he didn't make the carpet long enough or the transition piece should have been bigger, but you can tell where the vinyl stopped. I never received a call back from Empire to have it addressed. I called and talked to the salesperson and he relayed the message to Amber, and she never called me back.
Other than that, the flooring's coloring was quite nice. It wasn't a whole lot different than what was already in my bedroom. So, that stacked quite well, although it wasn't Empire that put that in, and it looks very nice. Overall, Empire is a good company, but you have to have your eyes open a little more when you do the final walkthrough after their product has been installed.

I had flooring done on the main level and on my steps. With the main level flooring, we had some issues when the installers came. They were banging so hard that it shattered a light fixture in my basement. I reported it and it was properly handled. As far as the steps, I informed the salesperson the day after I had scheduled for my main flooring to get done that I wanted the steps also. So, there was a delay in the process because he didn't put the order through. Also, during the installation, we had bubbling on two of the landings. I had to get the technicians to come back to repair it. Other than that, the quality and look are fine.

So, when he came to the door, I I asked if he was from the Empire Today and he said yes. So, I let him come on in. I saw some flooring that I liked that he showed me a sample flooring and it turned out wonderful. I love it.
For the installation, the guys did very well. There were some spots that I saw where there was an opening, so I asked them to put an extra piece there, sort of the way that it's measured prior to them coming in because I have an open staircase. So, I didn't have a problem with that. One of the gentlemen was doing a shortcut and I asked him to fix it so the trim would match up and touch. So, he did that. I was watching them and going around, and they were happy to make sure that I was happy. They were really good and very fast. I had to go to the high level of management. The installation went all right, but a week later, the carpet came off the tacking. So, they sent the installer out to do a repair, and he tried to blame my dog for it. But I have an 8-pound Yorkie. He isn't capable nor does she dig up the carpet. Everything else was okay.

I had carpets and I had two pets, so I was trying to make my home more pet-friendly. I got waterproof flooring from Empire Today and it looks like wood. When I bought it, there was some confusion because when the rep quoted me the first price, it was higher than I thought it would be. So, I thought I couldn't get what I wanted done. There was a business discount that I didn't get offered, so I ended up getting less than I thought.
Also, I told him I wanted the hallway done upstairs and the bathrooms and yet they only did the hallway. So, there must have been some kind of confusion, because when the installers came, I was thinking they were at least going to do one of the bathrooms, if not both. I specifically wanted the bathroom in the bedroom done. But somehow, when the order came out, that wasn't included. So, I figured I have to get that done at a later time. So, I wasn't really happy with those parts. I thought I was on the same page with the sales rep, but we weren't when he left.
The installers worked their butts off though and they got there on time. I liked them. But I wasn't happy with the amount of dust that was created in the spots they were working on. They could have just stapled a piece of plastic between the kitchen area and it would have saved a lot of dust. After they were gone, I had to dust everything in the house and I had to re-wash everything because they sanded the adhesive from the kitchen flooring tile.
Aside from that, I had another property and that was supposed to go down a week before this one, and that one was supposed to have flooring and carpet. So, the sales guy told me the flooring guy was going to come through first then the carpet team would be there. But then they told me if there were some soft areas on the floor, they would let me know. So, there was a soft area in the kitchen that they weren't sure about for the flooring but I figured they could come do carpet on the other parts that we agreed to do, but they didn't. So, nothing got done. I paid the deposit and they refunded all the money.

Louie came in the house and by the time he left, he had sold me almost $4,000 worth of carpet. He came in with the right price. He was able to make it work for me financially. I got the Ink Spot. I'm an old hippie so my house is Aqua and orange and teal, so it’s really complemented the colors. So far, everything's good. The installers were great. The guy that did the bathroom had to do a little bit prep work on the underlayment under the tile to make what I wanted work, and he was able to do that and made it look really nice.
As far as the quality of the product, I’d give about a B minus. I don't know if empire is where I would go again. I don't know if they have a quality enough carpet or if I didn't have enough money for Louie to pull out the quality of carpet. This carpet is about three quarters of an inch shorter pile. So, it feels a little tinsier. It's not as cushy under the feet. It almost feels like it's three steps above like a commercial grade. So, I'm a little disappointed in the quality. The price worked, but I don't think this will be the last carpet I'm gonna have to do while I live in the home, which is kind of depressing. Overall, Empire has really good salesmen and they have really decent installers and you get really what you pay for.

I had to postpone the installation three times at least, and they were really accommodating on my installation date.
Everything seemed to be good on the installation. The crew was really polite and they worked hard. It was a big project. They recarpeted the whole house and they put in all new molding. The gentleman that did the molding work did an excellent job. He went a little beyond because there was some transitions from the carpet to the hard floor, and he took care of those transitions very nicely. So, I was very happy with them. As far as the flooring, it looks good. It was a house I'm selling, so I didn't go with a real high-end carpet. I went with something that was a little more affordable, but it looks really good. Hopefully, it'll hold up well for the new owners.

I had to have my carpets replaced and so I had the guy come out for the quote, and the price was really good. I was looking for something least expensive because my budget was very, very tiny. But I liked the selection. It was a good selection. The carpet was installed in the stairs and the upstairs, which are two bedrooms and a little hallway. On the installation day, the only thing I wasn't crazy about was they didn't give me a time, either in the morning or afternoon. They just said, “Anywhere from eight o'clock in the morning until eight o'clock at night.”
The installers called about a half hour before they came, which the sales rep told me that they would do. The installation went fairly smoothly. I live in a condo so I did have to tell them that after a certain time, they wouldn't be able to be hammering and banging. But they did a really awesome job. The carpet looks and feels great. I would definitely use Empire again when I sell this place. Then depending on where I go and what my funds are, I want to use Empire again if I need any flooring.

Empire's salesperson was very engaging. She had a nice demeanor and was very clear, not too pushy. We were very comfortable with talking to her. After she answered our questions and explained the product, we decided that we were going to move forward. She then brought the installers in. They were great. We got out of their way and watched them work. And they were really very professional. They were not rushing, but they were very expedient. At the bottom of our stairs, we have a runner that goes up the stairs and the hallway runs underneath the bottom of the stairs. So they had to remove a fixture there in order to install the plank. That fixture recently came apart and I don't know if they're going to come back out and fix it, or if they can or not. But when they finished uninstalling it, they said they would put it back and when they did, it didn't stick. That was four weeks ago.
Other than that, my wife likes the vinyl plank floors that they installed in the kitchen and hallway. But I'm very critical, a little bit more picky about certain things. I'm disabled and I have a health problem with neuropathy in my feet. So it's hard for me to engage on certain surfaces where my balance is. I noticed when I walk on the vinyl plank that it's a little slippery and I don't know if the wood would be the same. But it's not anything that would make me want to purchase anything different because we pretty much liked the price and the way the floor looks. It looks really nice.

We have/had tiled flooring throughout our house. We were interested in looking to see if vinyl flooring could be put on top of our tiles without damaging our tiles with glue or cement. The salesperson said yes and told us that a self leveling pad would be placed underneath our floors. This was however not the case. The installers put cement on the tiles and that without covering the grout joints completely. If that is supposed to keep the grout joints from coming through, we will have grout joints In the future coming through. As a "water barrier" they used a thin, clear sheet of plastic. After the installation I noticed 3 scratches immediately which I pointed out to the installers and they said they were easily removable and wiped one scratch with a wet cloth....and left.
After it dried the scratch was back. We tried wiping the other scratches too but they are permanent. The flooring was supposed to be scratch resistant. When I called to complain we were brushed off and we were told that we signed the contract and there is nothing we can do about it. The sales person lied to us and empire simply washes their hands saying you signed the contract which was electronic and never shown to us in full Length. After days of calling and calling, they tell us they can either glue the molding onto a BRICK FIREPLACE or give us $150 to fix it ourselves. What a joke. This company is full of complete idiots. I used Empire in 2005. I figured they would be able to handle what I was asking them to do, and that's to provide carpeting and to get it down properly. I recently had vinyl flooring put down in my kitchen and dining area. My walls were wood and the floor was wood and they put their white board on the side of the wall to close the seam up between the floor and the wall. I didn't like that.
The most recent installers showed up a half hour before I was expecting them. They didn't let me know they were coming. They didn't talk good English either. They installed carpeting in my living room, on the steps to the second floor, and on the second-floor hallway. The quality is good. I'm just seeing in the steps. It's a natural process that sometimes some of it will come out. I need to vacuum more often until some of those extra pieces stop coming out, especially at the steps. I don't know if I can do anything about it. One, I wasn't able to reach the salesman after the work was done. I wanted to inquire on this. But the people I talked to gave me a song and dance why I didn't need it.
I was also not left any pieces of the carpeting that can be used in case I needed to piece in something that might have gotten ruined. They told me that they don't normally leave it, but they do. I have this vinyl flooring. I have carpeting upstairs that Empire put in the second-floor bedroom. I have all of that carpeting. Then they also put carpeting down here before I had the vinyl flooring put in. I have that left over. Now recently, there was some water damage to a unit here where I live. Luckily, they said they have carpeting that they can use. They don't have to worry about that part of the floor being ruined by water because they have carpeting that they can have the restoration company apply.
Also, when the salesman came, he told me I'd have to pay a deposit. But I ended up waiting until the time they started before I even got a receipt for it. I never even got a contract from the salesman, other than my credit card showing the payment went to Empire. But that was all I had to prove that I had paid anything. When they first came in to do a job, the tech came in and brought me a little swatch that was two inches by one inch. He said, "Is this the carpet you ordered?" He wasn't saying it in good English. I said, "Yes." He wanted me to give him the payment in full but they hadn't installed it. They didn't show me they had the carpet. As far as I know, they can walk out that door and be gone. They would have had the payment in full. I refused to give it because I had given a deposit.
He called somebody on the phone because we were having a communication problem. The person told me that that was their policy, to collect everything before they even start any work. I told her I refused to do that. I told her, "I have a credit card. I'm showing it to your installer." I'm ready to pay for it. But I want to have something to show for it, other than this little 2x1 inch swatch of carpeting.

They said that they would have to come back another day and finish up the bathroom. They left a box of eight foot quarter round going across the middle of my living room floor, which they had just done. And they left some trash and some other things in the hall. They came back the next day knowing that they had to remove the toilet to do the flooring.
One of the workers decided that he needed to purchase a special tool. And instead of getting with whoever his contractor was that he's working for to see if they could supply that with him, he went and bought one. And would not finish their job unless my husband paid him the $50 for the tool that he had. And he now has the tool my husband paid him. I didn't like being coerced into paying a gentleman to buy a tool that they should have had to do the job in the first place. We had to get the job finished. I was not happy about that. It was handled badly. I contacted the dispatch manager at Empire and told him the situation prior to them completing the job, and told him what was going on. He said there would be no additional charge for us. But I never heard back from anybody until now.
I had another person call. I told her the problems, and she said she would check in to it, and I had not heard back. I didn't appreciate the lack of response from anybody after the repeated calls I made to try to figure out what happened and why the situation was the way it was. I love my floor. I wish I could have done the entire area. But price-wise I could not do the entire area. I would recommend Empire Today with a caveat that they are pricey. When I first asked the rep what it would cost me to do just that living room area, the first quote was $8,000. I told him, "No way. I know better." We got down to a more reasonable price. Also, when they got done, I ended up losing power in my walk-in closet on all three of my sockets. But, Empire Today reimbursed me for the amount that it was gonna take to have those sockets repaired.

Everything was excellent with Empire. The rep was thorough and showed me everything. I knew what I wanted but didn't know the coloring. She provided me with a ton of products and I picked from the options that were given to me. I got the softwood flooring in my living room and dining room. The installers called me around 10:00 a.m. They were on their way. I met the two greeters at the door. They walked through our house to see the area that they would work on. They said, “Everything looks good. We'll start ripping up the carpet.” They finished around 7:00 p.m. that night. The work was above my expectations. I didn't expect it to look that great. My family was shocked how it came out. I would tell others to go with Empire. They're professional and fast. Everything was done within a week and you won't regret the quality.

The salesman that came to my house with samples was great. Very nice. Answered all my questions. I asked if the installers would help me paint the concrete slab before putting down the flooring? Oh yeah, of course, he said. They did not help, in fact, they said they only had so much time to do the installation. So I didn't get to seal the concrete. And they put my new flooring down on my wet kitchen floor. I didn't realize my water heater was leaking and they didn't say anything about it to me. I didn't realize it until about a week later. I was also told they would take away the old carpet & laminate. They did not. Over a year later, it's still in the back of my Truck because you can't just dump it anywhere. And when you tell them you don't really like the color. It's too dark. You get the run around. This cost me a ton of money, and I'm not happy.

We had laminate floors put in our kitchen and living room in July of 2021. In January of 2023 some of the flooring is peeling back. We have called Empire and was told to send pictures and then that it would cost $320 for repairs. "What about the lifetime warranty?" That's from the manufacturer. Empire's is only 1 year. We call the manufacturer and was told that Empire must submit the claim. We call Empire back and was told that they don't submit claims. SOMEONE is responsible for this faulty flooring! They take advantage of the elderly!!

Empire review. I am ONLY writing this review to save others from the hassle and nonsense we had to experience when we decided to hire Empire! Let me assure you that I don’t like writing reviews and I am not one to enjoy taking people’s time to listen/read my jabber. But this I need to share for the greater good! First of all, I am not competitor of Empire. I am a pain management physician. As such I didn’t want to allocate so much to learn about construction because I am very busy. But fortunately I had the pleasure (applying heavy loads of sarcasm) of doing hours of research because of the incompetence of people that they sent out that boldly claim to be professionals. This company and these “professionals” have been anything but professional.
As I am writing this review, our project and now issue has not yet been resolved. This is after 4 times trying to get a job done that otherwise would take one try. To sum up and in respect to your time and energy, I am going to conclude my review here and to say that if you decide to hire Empire, at least in our experience, for anything flooring, you will be disappointed royally. I truly hope that it wouldn’t be the case but not in our experience.
P.s. if you want the details, continue reading. First try: We scheduled and picked the the porcelain tiles. Two young men came to install. It was a cold rainy day. From the moment they stepped into our apartment until they left, he came up with thousands excuses and “pro-lems” not to install those tiles. He advised us that luxury vinyl is better. So they left.
Second try: Next week, we took Friday off for the second crew. They rolled up to the gates, we buzzed them in. Waited 15-20 mins, no one came upstairs. I went downstairs to see what’s going on and why they are taking so long to start work. They were gone. We called their manager to see what happened. They told their manager that they knocked and no one opened. On which universe that makes sense, I don’t know!
Third try: they came and installed the vinyl flooring. Almost immediately all three areas raised and had a bubbling affect. So cheap looking. We called and they said they would send and inspector. 4th visit: The inspector came out to document our complaint. 2 baths, kitchen flooring. Luxury vinyl plank (LVP). All three areas have bubbles where you can see the sloped floor. He exclaimed that this was a job poorly done. He took bunch of pictures and told us that he will write a report and they will get back to us. Two weeks later and after calling them repeatedly: they told us that they will send the first crew that did not want to the job to do the job. We have refused their work furthermore. Beyond disappointing and frustrating!
Naida, we regret to hear that you had a negative experience with us, but we would appreciate the chance to turn your experience around. We'll be in touch with you soon to discuss your concerns.

Found Empire Today online, called representative for free estimate. Our representative was Leslie who came out right away. She was very knowledgeable and personable. We ended up having Empire replace our foyer three days later. Started out looking good but went into a dive when it came to the trim work. Alex the lead installer was very good and his work ethics were impressive. He worked non stop for ten hours the first day but the trim work was not to our satisfaction. He was also short of materials that got screwed up somewhere in their system. When Alex came back yesterday he had four helpers that didn’t speak English which disturbed us. Alex was the only one that spoke English out of five people total.
I was on the phone both days trying to get the foreman or someone to come out and get the trim work done right. Alex had put the flooring down properly and he tried to make the trim work but couldn’t. After hours on the phone with my patience totally gone I finally tracked down the foreman over this group of guys. At that point I didn’t want to be passed around anymore and I went off on the foreman telling him I wanted the trim work finished today period. He called Alex and had him go get what was needed at Lowe’s to make things right. Alex did exactly what I knew could be done and should have been done on their first day.
After two days of losing my religion, which should never have happened, between Alex and his foreman brother my foyer looks great. Alex is a good installer and very pleasant to deal with. Our sales person Leslie the same. The problem is the right hand not passing correct information onto the left hand. I ended up on the phone with seven different people for two days with my last nerve coming through. After all this would I use them again....Yes because the end result looks good and Alex hung in there with my last nerve.
Judy, we appreciate all reviews and you giving us the chance to improve by providing us with this feedback. Thank you again for taking the time to let us know how we can improve. We hope you will consider us again in the future. Take care.

A representative from Empire Today came out and he placed the order for laminate hardwood flooring for us. Since everything in our house has the stained wood molding, he put down white as far as the quarter round molding. But when the installer came out, he didn't show me the quarter round. He showed me the flooring and I told him that was it. Then he put it down, and he also put down the white, which didn't match at all. So, I called Empire and it took at least a month before the installer came back and corrected it. We had it put down the Friday before Thanksgiving week, so I was expecting that I'd have it all done for Thanksgiving. But then it was the week before Christmas before it was fixed.
Other than that, I should have looked at his order better. Mine's an older home and I see the newer homes where they have the wood floor and the white paintable molding. But all my molding is stained at my crown molding, my floor molding, and at every door. The installer should have also noticed that the white molding doesn't go with this house. But he was doing what was on his order. He also cleaned up nicely and did everything else nicely. It was just that mixup.

We had Empire Today install laminate in the kitchen, linoleum in the kitchen and in the bedroom and master bedroom and bath. They also did the luxury vinyl in part of the living room and hallway, which was horrible. The crew came out and pulled the pieces up, put it back down and used paint thinner to remove all the glue they got all over it. The pieces are coming back up again and the finish is gone. They are supposed to come back out again on Thursday. We're not happy and we don't want the same crew out. I told the rep that we’re gonna pay somebody to refinish the floor and she said it has to be ripped up. I said that the installers are not going to work in an empty house anymore because we had to move in. I don't want to pay for the flooring. It was paid on the card, and I called the credit card company and I'm disputing the payment. For all I care, they can come and rip it up.

On 11/19/2022, this company installed carpeting. They installed a lower grade padding (number 6 vs number 8) than what we paid for, and the seam was so poorly done that it was bunched up and uneven. There is also a defect in another area of the carpeting with a line running through it. Two different installers came back out to try to fix the seam but were not able to do so and both confirmed the padding was the lower grade padding. The last installer then tried to tell us that the seam was actually a defect in the carpeting as well. The last installer took pictures and advised us he would send to the appropriate people for a solution. We have the company's customer service representative contact us on 3 separate occasions requesting different pictures from us. They claim their installer never gave them the pictures or information that he took when he was here.
They claim they are doing us a favor by handling this complaint through the manufacturer for us even though they installed defective carpeting on day 1 and they are responsible for the shoddy work. They have had nothing but excuses and have been dragging their feet ever since. I also strongly believe that the carpeting they installed is NOT the same quality that was picked from the sample but cannot prove that. 1 1/2 months later, I am left with a living room that cannot be used when company comes over due to the shoddy work and poor, lowest grade carpeting that was installed. We wanted something durable, pet-resistant and something that looked nice and quality. The salesman had a decent amount of samples and we did laminate flooring in the kitchen and most of the living areas, and carpet in the bedroom. The color is my favorite feature and the flooring and the carpet match nicely together. The reps helped us make that decision, so it was good.
Empire Today’s cost was comparable and the deciding factor was the time that they were able to do it in, it was quick. The installers did a good job with the installation. They were on time and did exactly what they planned to do. The only hiccup we had was the salesman had told us that the tiles that we had previously did not have to be taken out and they could put the flooring over it, which was not correct. But the supervisor or manager that we spoke to handled it quickly and they took care of the cost. So, it all worked out. They installed all new baseboards also. Everything was good.

I purchased pre-finished hardwood floors from Empire. The workmanship was good. The product was exactly what I wanted, was exactly what they showed me with the in-house sales visit, and everything was fine. The communication was good, I was getting text and email messages regularly reminding me of the date of installation and then when they would be there. The other thing that was very good was I wound up having to change the flooring installation date a day and a half before the installation. I had a death in the family. There was absolutely no problem changing it with no questions asked. I appreciated that.
However, when Empire came, I had an idea of where my pricing should be. They came in, measured the job, put together a picture of what it was gonna look like and came up with an absolutely ridiculous price and immediately followed that with, "Oh, but we have a sale." The original price they came up with was $26,000 and there was absolutely no way that I was gonna do that. Then, they immediately, on their sale, lowered it to $14,000. If I had not done the work that I had beforehand and had other pricing, I might have agreed to that. But I had another in-writing estimate from another reputable national flooring company for $9,700. And because I had that and I had it in writing, they matched it.
Carolyn, thank you so much for leaving us a review. We really appreciate you taking the time to leave feedback. We hope you will consider us again in the future. Take care.

The salespeople of Empire that came out were excellent. I'm terrible at making decisions on what I really need and want. I told her what I was looking for and she helped me make the decisions about things for the flooring and I've been very happy with it. She mentioned some carpet that was on sale and that I could have the living room hallway replaced with that for a fair amount of money. I went for it. She just helped all the way around.
The first installation team that came out discovered that there was an issue with my bathroom not being level with the bedroom, so they had to go an extra mile to take care of it and they did. The flooring was beautiful and perfect. The second time that I ordered from Empire Today, I ordered carpeting. When they came out, a couple of the workers were just sitting there, charging their phones. I wasn't also really impressed with how they laid the carpet because when they installed it, they put nails in the threshold with a gun, as in when I walk through it, the nail would stab my feet. And it doesn't really look all that straight in the doorway of one of my bedrooms. You can see the seams on the carpet. But the product itself, I'm happy with. In the future, when I decide to install flooring in my other two bedrooms, I will be calling Empire.

During the installation, I wasn't home when the guys showed up and my wife let them in. She pretty much left for the majority of the time period, then we showed up a few times to check on the progress and when I came home, they were still working until about 7:00-ish at night. Towards the end, we were there while they were finishing up some of the little trim. When looking for flooring, I wanted to be able to move the furniture around without scratching the floor. The floor being water-resistant was important too because I'm on the first floor. Empire's price was competitive and the timing was a factor in my going with them because they were gonna start sooner. The installation was performed in the living room and it was all one straight run to the dining area, the kitchen, and the front hall. The initial investment I got was to lay the flooring over the existing flooring. When we found out there were actually two layers of existing flooring, that went out the window and they had to factor in removing the two layers. The salesman gave me a higher price but he had to get it by the office. An installation team showed up on a Saturday morning and the sales guy could not be reached. The office gal wasn't ready to okay the price.
The issue was with the communication between the front office and the sales guy. The sales guy did the work on a Thursday or a Friday and he was not available on the weekend for some reason. The office gal would not authorize the installation team to start the job even though I was willing to pay more if it turned out that way. I just wanted to get the job going. At that time, I had all the furniture out and I was living through the weekend with a refrigerator in my bedroom.
After some beating around, the installation team left and I had to wait a couple of more days and a different team came out and the price was accepted. One thing was nobody also made it clear to me until the very end that I had to have the stove out. At the last minute, I had to get some things moved. I'm 50 years old so that's not that easy.
That aside, I was very impressed with the crew that did the work. They were very hardworking and they did a very good job. They had to remove floors without damaging the existing baseboards and that was not easy. They had things watered so it's leveled. They had to level it with some kind of liquid type of material that looked like a bit of a watery cement almost. The boards themselves are nice and leveled. There's no end sticking up. They did a nice job with the seals. The installation crew also put everything back.
If one of my neighbors asked about Empire, I would tell them to be careful about the details. Other than that, the crew worked quickly and they did a good job. I'm very happy with the way things look. I like the idea that this flooring is lighter colored. It makes the room a little lighter. I was also amazed how the crew could take things out without scarring up the baseboards. The removal was excellent.

The quality of work was excellent and I liked the speed of the installation. But my wife doesn't like the pattern. When she walked into the kitchen, she said it was like a crime scene where they've drawn the figure on the ground. I'm happy we got to this point though we did not really get what we were looking for. What we wanted was a flooring with black and white squares but Empire didn't offer those to us. And after repeatedly asking, they said it was not available. For a company that's nationwide, I couldn't believe they couldn't give us black and white squares. So, he brought carpet samples and we ended up with the carpet. The Berber worked out very well.
The installation occurred at the end of the day. I wasn't really sure when they were coming. They did come late, but the guys were in and out, neat, clean, fast, and made sure that everything looked good before they left. They did a great job. I would have them again. We're gonna have to have the dining room and living room done. We have another living room down below here, because we're split level, and I plan on calling them for that.
I like that our new flooring is easy to care for. It looks great. I'm glad I chose it over a cold, hard flooring. It's gonna be warmer. There is no echo. I'm gonna like that. I had carpet and LVP installed in my home. Was expecting top notch install because of the amount I paid and the way Empire talks so highly of their installers. Let’s start with the fact that the single installer that showed up didn’t speak any English. And since he was alone rushed to get the kitchen LVP done and carpet. Didn’t have the right tools. He even asked to borrow mine. Carpet continues to peel up at the seams. Kitchen LVP quarter round isn’t installed correctly. The same installer came back three times already and can’t fix it. They don’t know what they are doing.
I requested a new installer come and was told no, the customer doesn’t get to choose that and that it would be the same person. That’s why I will just have to deal with it. I believe I should be getting some sort of discount for this. It’s ridiculous. Oh and since they can’t do the correct cuts in the kitchen they decided to just caulk it. With white caulk!! That doesn’t even match the color of the floor. Just mediocre work. Will be the biggest regret. Install was 10/14/21.

I reached out to two other flooring companies and both said not only could they have done the flooring we wanted by installing floating floors, but they had absolutely no idea why we weren't offered that. They said that floating floors are primarily used for that situation. We were just bullied into the other options. This was the worst experience I've ever had with a company professionally. I would never do business with Empire again.
David, thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We regret that you had a negative experience and will use this as an opportunity to improve. If you have further questions or concerns, please email us at customersupport@empire-today.com.

The sales rep was a good dude and explained the whole process. The installer's work ethic was unbelievable. One guy did it all including moving all the furniture. Everything was very nice and perfectly done. He had little sliders to slide things around where he needed to get things out of his way. I was very impressed. He did a nice job. We even did the stairway down to the downstairs too and he did that perfectly.

Empire Today was late getting to the rental property. They also seemed to be slow-moving to get started. But once they got started, they seemed to be okay.

The Empire Today representative who came out initially was amazing. He was very friendly, forthcoming, specific, what would be done, and who would be here to do it. The installer did a good job. I like the quality. But it took over eight hours. The gentleman didn't come until after 2:00 in the afternoon. So, he didn't leave my house until after 10 o'clock at night. It should have been a two-man job. He didn't have a working vacuum cleaner, so when he left, everything was a mess. So, he was up until after 11 o'clock vacuuming.
Also, he didn't put in one of the strips between my bedroom and the hall that he was supposed to. And he didn't carpet inside one of my closets in the landing. So, I wasn't happy with it, but it's not a big deal because it's a closet. Nobody sees it. It’s got shoes on it. Empire Today said somebody would be in touch with me within the next couple of weeks. But I never heard from anybody.
Lisa, we're unhappy to hear you've had this experience. We're looking into this and we'll follow up with you soon.

We had appliances put in and the sales guy was great. Got along with him awesome. It was quick and we had plenty of selection. We had a second appointment where Empire Today had to remove ramps underneath the carpet. I called them and the salesman said, "If you need those pulled out, just let us know." We have a buyer for the house and they want it pulled out. So, the entryway was up a bit. That was the tile entryway. So, it will go into the hallway to the bedroom, and entering the living room, we had some ramps underneath there. It was a good experience and the whole install was great. It was a good value.

Dealing with this company has been an absolute nightmare. If I could give them 0 stars I would. They first would not provide us with an official quote for our insurance company without us entering into a "non-binding" contract. We finally got an installation date scheduled for a Wednesday. On the day of the installation we received a call at 10:30 am stating that there was a "material shortage" and that our carpets would not be installed that day.
This is after 3 full days of uprooting our entire home and disassembling furniture. After getting the run around for a while, we were then told that same afternoon that they did in fact have the carpet we ordered in, it was just on the truck and that they would be coming out Friday to install it. On Friday morning at 9:30 we received yet another call stating that the material was "on the truck and they didn't have enough people to go inventory and find it", and that they would no longer be coming to install our carpets. We then asked when they think they would be able to, and they said they had no idea. They refused to provide us with a discount. The entire operation was unacceptable, disjointed, disorganized, and quite frankly simply unacceptable. I would NEVER recommend using this company.
Rebecca, this is not the experience that we wish for our customers, and we apologize for your experience. We understand that your order has been cancelled per your request. If you continue to have questions and/or concerns please contact us at customersupport@empire-today.com.

I bought vinyl flooring and carpet, and the sales rep was very helpful and informative. I was going with one sort of brand and he helped me pick one that was more available instead of having to wait. For the installation, both the carpet and the flooring were installed in a great amount of timing and I love the work. I'm a carpet person and I've always had carpet. But my son wanted floors and the ones we got are perfect the way they are. It's just the constant sweeping and mopping. Empire Today's reps informed me that you don't want to use harsh chemicals on it, but in the option, you can use Dial soap and water. Other than that, I liked the price range and the availability of the products I purchased from Empire. Plus, the information that was given to me, not only on what would be affordable and useful, but also how to take care of it, was very helpful. I loved everything about it.

The installation of my hardwood floors in the living room, dining room, and a little area took two days. The reps told me certain liquids to put on it and that I don't have to be rough with it. The work was good and I highly recommend Empire Today.

Empire Today is a good company to go with but they all don't finance inhouse. They use other people. Recently, I had light brown floor tile installed in the living room, dining room, and the hallway. The sales rep and installers were professional, friendly, and informative. Three guys came in and they came in the time frame that they were scheduled to come. I mostly stayed in the bedroom while they were out here, so I was out of their way, doing what they do. They did really good and finished in four hours before 2:00.

We had Empire come out in 2020 to install Marbella floor tile in our kitchen and foyer. Install was great and we have no complaints about that. However, a little over two years later, a single tile is peeling up around the edges. I contacted Empire and they told me it was out of their warranty period but that they could come out for $185 to give me an estimate for repair. I looked on their website and the manufacturer has a limited lifetime warranty on defects. When I contacted them back, they said they could "relay my issue to the manufacturer" if I like. However, they would still have to charge me $185 to come out and "assess" the damage and relay to the manufacturer. Wait? What? I have to PAY to have a lifetime warranty item repaired? What kind of scam is this?
Aki, we’re sorry to hear that your product is not meeting your expectations. However, our products are covered by a manufacturer and a one-year installation warranty. We’ll be in contact with you soon to discuss your options.

I got vinyl flooring in four bedrooms. The installer came in by himself at first, but then his buddy came in and helped him. But he was an amazing gentleman by himself. He did a great job. He talked to me and explained things about the flooring of the house. It was a great day. I got a really nice dark gray color floor and I love it. It has very, very good quality.

On October 7, 2022, I met with the carpet consultant to purchase carpet to two rooms and to repair the squeaky floors. I told him first that the floors were squeaky and that it was the major reason that I am ordering new carpet. I asked him to check both rooms and he assured me that the company can fix the squeaks by putting some screws in the loose boards. So I ordered some very expensive carpet and padding, which cost me a total of $3,698.08.
On 10/21/22, the installer showed up and I explained to him about the squeaks. He started to complain that the company has to pay him extra and he only started doing the work when he made a call to his boss. He grudgingly started the job and I showed him areas where the board were loose. I did not stand over him while he worked. When the job was completed I could not tell if the loose boards was screwed down because the carpet was extra plush. After about a day, the boards became squeaky again which is a strong indication that he did not screw the boards down. He only did it in one area.... that area is okay. I made numerous phone calls to the company to remedy the situation.
All I received were multiple empty promises to call me back. Finally the said installer showed up after about two weeks and blamed the problem on the subfloor. I told him that I wanted the carpet taken up and screws put in the affected area. He refused. I am aghast as to why a company who advertises all over TV, as a reputable company could treat their customers with such disdain after receiving payment. I have not been able to appreciate the carpet and my home still have boxes packed up waiting for someone to complete the job that is in the signed contract. I am stick to my stomach of this company and I am totally dissatisfied with the job and wished that I read the bad reviews before giving them a single penny. I will definitely deter prospective buyers.
Madge, we regret to hear about your experience and would like to make things right. We've located your order and will be in touch with you tomorrow.

I had some laminate put in in my master bedroom and carpet put in in my guest bedrooms and living room. The installation went very well. But leading up to the installation and getting people to show up when they said they were was pretty problematic. Also, the guy who put in my flooring was pretty abusive toward his assistant and I was pretty uncomfortable with that. But the workmanship was very good. The quality of the flooring is great. I love it.
Cindy, we're glad that you're enjoying your new flooring! However, we regret that you've had this experience. Thanks for taking the time to bring this to our attention. We will use the feedback to improve and ensure this doesn’t happen again.

We had luxury vinyl plank flooring and carpet installed by Empire Today. We had some glitches along the way. I am getting ready to call Empire to come back out because it was a bigger room, so it had to be seamed. The seam is visible. It's right in the middle of the floor. They've got to make that right. It’s horrible looking in and of itself there. When we were supposed to have the luxury vinyl plank installed, they did not send enough of the product along. So, that was an ordeal because the person that was laying the floor said, “I'm not coming back tomorrow. I'm not finishing this job. I have other jobs I have to go to tomorrow.” So, I wasn't thrilled with that subcontractor.
The customer service at Empire Today was great. They escalated me to a manager. She was like, “Well, I can tell you that that subcontractor doesn't dictate what jobs they go to and what jobs they don't go to. They will go where I tell them to go.” They did come back the next day and finished the job. So, we were happy with that. We got all that resolved. The process, overall, was great. I had a sales rep that was phenomenal. When all the stuff happened, she got involved for me. Everybody worked together as a team and they got it resolved. So, it didn't impact my overall end-of-the-day evaluation.
