    An Empire rep came with a million choices, like books with the tiles there that you can look at the samples. Then I narrowed it down. I told him what I was looking for, to keep it a warm feel since the floor was cement. He helped me navigate what were the best options. They did a great job with my floor installation. It looks beautiful. It has a really nice warm look to it. It looks like real wood even though it's not. It was exactly what I was going for in that room. There were three gentlemen here. They were here just a couple of hours. From the time that I picked everything out, they had availability less than a week later. I had the new floor put in pretty quickly.

    They stayed upstairs and out of the way. They weren't there very long. They brought everything into the garage. There was one big piece of furniture. They moved that out of the way. I stayed upstairs. Then a few hours, they were done. Then I went downstairs. He walked me through how they did everything. He showed me where the doorways were, the little saddle that they put, and where the molding had to go around the room.

    Empire is very quick and always fair on their pricing. We had some carpet that needed to be replaced due to some stains from my dementia parents. The rep showed us quite a few options of different styles and gave recommendations. We went with one that was a little different from what he suggested but it worked fine and matched very well.

    It was four days to get on the installer's schedule. They were very professional and quick. The three techs tore up all the old carpet and put in the new one. They did a very good job.

    Empire told me that they could do it on the date that I wanted. But I didn't end up getting it on that day because they didn't get the material in. I had hardwood floor put down in the living and dining rooms. The installation went well. They did the work quick and fast, and they cleaned up after themselves. I like the floor. But when you step on it to go from the kitchen to the dining area, there’s a little cracking. I called Empire to tell them about that but I haven't heard anything.

    The sales guy from Empire was really nice. He explained everything to me to the T. The installation took way longer than it was expected. Then the installers did not have a vacuum to vacuum up the carpet. I just moved into my house so I didn't have a vacuum. I had to go purchase one to vacuum up the pieces that were left over.     I had rugs put in and I love them. They're beautiful. The installers were good as well. Empire just needs to get its offices in sync. The guy who came in who did the measurements and showed me all the different rugs, when we made the appointment, we made it with him. Then when we told him we had to cancel that because of some other problems we had that had to get fixed before the rugs get put in, he told the office. The office never told the people that she was supposed to show up, so they were calling me at 6:30 in the morning and I said, “You're not supposed to be here today. I can't till next week.”

    The sales guy was great. He came in and did all the measurements. He explained everything to us, took his time, and answered all my questions. He worked with us and gave us all of the options, like what was costly for us. So he was really good about advising us. I appreciate that. We did all the downstairs the first time and then about a few months ago, we did the upstairs. So now, all we got left is the back bedroom, which we're planning to do. We definitely got to call Empire to come back for that too.

    The installers came on time and I appreciated that they called me before they arrived. Everything went as planned. They did everything they needed to do quietly and nicely. They also answered my questions. I went upstairs to see everything and they finished in one day, which was awesome. It was done in less than eight hours. I'm very pleased with everyone.

    Empire Today came to the house with samples. I was under a time constraint. And they were able to put it in when I needed it. The gentlemen who installed it were very professional. One of the installers told me the laminate was too close to the ground. And he suggested I go out and buy air returns so they didn't have to cut the floor out around it. I just ran out to the Home Depot and bought them, and they installed them. I had three bedrooms done. All the furniture was in one bedroom. They moved the furniture afterwards for me back to where it needed to go. So, they were very helpful. I was very pleased with the floors and the service. I had a dark laminate. It looks very nice.

But I was a little disappointed with the people that installed the carpet. They weren't very friendly. One guy did not speak any English.     We used Empire Today in the past, and we used them again to put vinyl flooring, molding, and some repairs to level the floor. The representative who came was very professional. We worked with him on our other deal, so it was kinda straightforward. He knew my husband from the last deal that we did. We weren’t expecting it to be the same person but it was. We asked for early installation. That happened relatively nicely. The contractors did amazing work. It was a two-man team, and one of the men got shipped on the third day. The installation took four days total and it was really good work. I am having them come back out because there is a couple areas that are coming up.

    There was an unexpected charge that they said that needed to be paid upfront, but it was an error that had happened. So, we paid it and they refunded it to us. The person who came down said that there were some incentives like email and because we're a repeating customer, and for some reason, those weren't taken off. When I called and explained, they figured out what it was. I would highly recommend Empire. If we need more work done, we would call them ourselves.

    Ordered waterproof, scratch proof lifetime warranty vinyl floors. They did not level floors prior to installation in order to save time. Floors all coming up in less than a year. Thousands reviews from other people online stating same. They give everyone a runaround when asked to resolve the issue. At this point a class action suit needs to be filed against them!!! They are fully aware of these reoccurring problems!!!

    We knew we wanted carpeting. The rep made a bunch of options available to us and some good recommendations that we ended up following. It was a quick and easy process. All in all, it only took us two to three days. The only thing that stood out was the installers' ability to speak English. They didn't understand me when I talked about what needed to be done and where. They recarpeted some closets that did not need to be. I didn't pay for them because they were not part of the initial quotes. I told them that, but when I came back upstairs when they were done, it was all carpeted. Empire should have better notes going from the sales rep to the installers. Other than that, everything went smoothly.

    The sales guy was super great. He brought in pallets for me to look at and was probably here a good two hours, if not longer, just answering all my questions. They did the installation in one day. They ripped up the carpet, cleaned the floor then put down the floors. They moved all the furniture and put everything back. Their work was phenomenal. They had everything that they needed with them. Some of them didn't speak very good English, but the project manager and the guy who was left here at the end did. We walked through the entire house. I looked at everything and it was amazing. I absolutely love my floors. I don't have to worry about a stain but the no chemicals clean-up is the best. Also, I have my youngest son that still lives with me and he can't hear me coming behind him because the floor is so quiet. When I ever decide to do my other bedroom, I will be calling Empire back.

    We did estimates and Empire's price was in line. The sales rep was good. We had cancellation on when they would put in the carpet, so it messed up the tile. But it was fixed so we got it the next week. We didn't learn it needs to reschedule to five o'clock. So if one of their people ran behind enough that their last one would not get done, they should tell them a lot earlier. Other than that, the kitchen tile floor and carpet look good.

    I went with Empire Today because they could do it sooner than anybody else. It was my first time doing anything like that, but I felt like they showed me a fair amount of samples. The carpet seems to be of good quality but the installation process was a bit of a pain. They scheduled the installation that same day. Their advertisements imply that it would be their own people installing. But they subcontract it out. And the guys that showed up, there was a miscommunication on somebody's end where they thought they wouldn't be able to do the work that day. Luckily, it got figured out. But it looked like it would not happen that day, which would have been a problem.

    I had Empire come out for carpet removal and install in the basement. The salesperson offered an extended warranty for the carpet and said it would cover anything. I asked what about basement flooding. He said "yes". I even asked him twice to verify and he confirmed it. 2 months later, we lost power and the basement had some water from the sump well overflowing. Contacting Empire to file a claim is a hassle and time consuming. I was told the claim was denied even before an inspector came out which was 3 months after the fact. After the inspector submitted a report, it was denied again. Last they said is they could have someone come out to look at replacing it for a reduced cost. I haven't heard anything since then. Either the salesperson lied or was ignorant of their own policies. I received no paperwork, except the bill. The policy info was never provided. I wish I had went with a different company.

    I had carpet installed upstairs and then the stairwell going upstairs from downstairs. Empire has great prices and they're going to get you taken care of in a timely manner. But the other place that we looked into had a 40-ounce carpet and the only thing that Empire offered was the 36-ounce carpet. It was disappointing and the reasoning that was given to us was that that was what they had in the warehouse in stock. It was almost made to sound like they didn't really do the ordering thing. I felt limited in my selection.

    When the installers came, they moved all the furniture and got started right away. They were supposed to be here at 8:00 but they called ahead and asked if they could come at 7:45. I agreed to that and they were done by 12:30. So far, I'm pretty impressed with their work. My one concern was not installing the carpet close enough to the edges that over time, it might pull away and you would see a visible gap. Or that I might see a seam where the carpet from bedrooms meets the hallway. But so far, I haven't seen anything like that. Both of our bathrooms have vinyl flooring and they did the transitions really well. They melted the seams together, transitioning to the hallway. It appears that they did a good job tucking the carpet all the way out to the edges. So I'm not seeing anything pulling away.

It was just the way that they communicated as far as the people coming to my house at 6:00 a.m. They never told me until six minutes before the person got there, which was very unprofessional.     I called Empire Today and got an appointment with their consultant. I told him what I was looking for in flooring and he made recommendations. I took him on his recommendation and scheduled an appointment for them to come and lay the flooring. However, they came late and it took them two and a half days to do it. They started on the 7th and they completed it on the 8th, but it was close to 9 PM. I signed a document but I didn't see the floors until the next day. They looked okay from above but that Saturday, I went in to clean up the mess that the workmen left, I found that they smudged around the area then I noticed all the defects.

    The caulking is terrible. They put white by the bathroom downstairs' door and I said something because that just stood out. They then half-caulked it in brown. They removed my closet door and put a new guide for the doors to slide through. Unfortunately, they didn't do it right because every time I slide some of through that guide, it chips away at my sliding closet door.

    Aside from that, the joints didn't connect where they put the border wall. They tried to caulk it to disguise it in my kitchen along the cabinets underneath the counter by the stove because you can't see it, you have to get down and really look. They didn't complete it all the way up to the cabinet. I also had nicks in the floor and that was one of the things that I told the guy. I told him that I was looking for something that was not going to nick because I drop stuff. and that was one of the problems that I had with my previous flooring. So he guaranteed me it wouldn't happen. But that Saturday, I found two nicks that were done by the contractor’s employees.

    I also found that some of the underlay they put on top of the original flooring to lay the planks was showing. It's black and it’s obvious. My front door entrance is terrible as well. They didn't make the planks line up evenly at the front door and what they did was try to disguise it and caulk it to the transition part of the door. They did the same thing with the garage door. One of the things that the consultant told me was that these were seamless floors, but that's not true. I can feel the rise between some planks and I'm afraid that if I accepted it the way it was, that in no time, those planks would dislodge themselves. Right now, I have some warping of the floors. It looks like a water bubble but there's no water near where this is.

    They were supposed to come today but I have an appointment where I can't be here today. I told them my son would be here but they said they needed me to be here to okay the flooring. So they're supposed to come tomorrow. But I advised them that I'm leaving home before 9:00 tomorrow because I work outside my home a couple of days a week and Friday happens to be one of those days. So they guaranteed me that they’d be at my house between 8:15 and 8:30 tomorrow. According to the person, they're going to replace the entire floor. But I have to wait and see it because again, they tell me one thing and they don't follow through.

    Other than that, the first person that came to do the installing lied on me to his supervisor when he came back. I put white paper type of masking tape in the spots that I found and after I complained, he came back to see and as soon as he came into my house, he was pissed off. He said it was too much and he couldn't do it. Then he called his supervisor and started speaking in Spanish. I don't speak Spanish but my daughter-in-law was here and she does. And he told his supervisor that it wasn't the flooring, it’s just that I did not like the color of the flooring. But I never said anything like that. Also, when he was here, he kept questioning me. When my son came over, he asked if he was m boyfriend or my husband. He also asked if I was married.

    It was October 8th that I filed my complaint with the company and now it's February. So it's been four months. I was trying to be reasonable so when they do come out, or if I end up in court, I won't be the unreasonable person because I bent over backwards. My furniture is still in my garage and I can't park my car in my garage because my furniture is there. Hopefully, everything will be remedied and put the way it should be.

    Empire had products on hand and was able to get them scheduled quickly. We had carpet in six rooms installed. The initial salesman was very knowledgeable. We're a little disappointed in transparency with pricing, though. The quote wasn't very transparent. We had to pick out things and try to understand what our actual needs were. Our job also ran into a few issues. They ended up having to reschedule the completion of our job three different times, which was a little bit of a hassle because we had the house torn up with no flooring in place for several weeks. But the actual installation team was very professional. Both of our installers were on time and good to work with. We're also happy with the product.

    I called Empire because of what they were offering, like discounted carpet. I also needed it done very quickly. I knew they could get it done quickly. We're local people. Sometimes, it takes weeks. The salesperson came, he measured, he had all kinds of carpet to show me. He was wonderful. I selected what I wanted and, within a week, they came and installed it. They were very professional.

    The installers were hard to understand because they were Hispanic or Latino. The female was more knowledgeable and I could understand her a lot more clearly than the person that was with her. The only other thing is they came so late in the day. They were at a customer prior to me and they had to move all the furniture and put all the furniture back. I had everything cleared out, so they didn't have to do any of that because I had friends help me do that. So, it was just late and it was after 4:00 in the evening when they finally came. But again, they also traveled from Tampa. But I like that the flooring is clean, for one, and it has the Scotchgard protection on it.

    There were a lot of setbacks with Empire Today as far as scheduling like getting the initial person out here to give us the estimate and then sign the contracts. Then with the installers, I had one guy show up on the day to install just by himself so he couldn't do it at all because he didn't have help. We did eventually get the carpet in and it looks great and it's amazing, but it was frustrating with how long it took to get the install done. I chose Empire because somebody else was taking so long and it ended up getting done the same day that it would have gotten done in the first place. We chose Home Depot initially but they were taking too long. Empire could come out and do a quote pretty quickly. It ended up being a couple $100 cheaper, too. I like the product a lot. It's a lot softer than what we initially chose at Home Depot so I'm very happy with it.

    We needed carpet that would last a long time and I needed it done fairly quickly. I called Empire Today on a Thursday and we had an appointment all of a sudden to meet with the salesperson at the house on Friday. She was really great. She had all the samples, and we were able to make a decision. We had the installer the following Wednesday. He did a great job. He could have used a second pair of hands because he was having to get the carpet up into the room upstairs. He brought the whole roll and he was the only one carrying things. My husband was having to try to help him. He still did a great job on the carpet. Empire had really good quality carpet at a good price. People could buy cheaper if they wanted. Everybody buys according to their budget and what they wanted to do, but I like that it was really convenient with Empire. We got installation really fast.     The Empire rep came out. The only problem was he had two grass options and one carpet option. But he was lucky. The carpet option that he showed us was just perfect for the place where we want it. He knew exactly what we needed. He didn't waste any time showing us stuff that would not be of interest to us.     My salesman with Empire Today was really good. He spent a lot of time with us. If one looks at my floor, it's absolutely gorgeous. But I'm waiting for someone to come and do an inspection of my floor because I had it installed about a month ago and it pops when you walk on it. They said that's not normal. The lady told me that they've had other people say the same thing for this engineered wood I purchased. If they would have told me it pops when you walk on it, I wouldn't have purchased it 'cause I don't like that sound. Hopefully, they know how to fix it, without tearing my old floor out again.

    I did my husband's office with someone else. When the man put it down, he used more of a spongy type thing on the floor before he put the flooring in. In this one, it looked like the installer was just using a tar paper. I asked if they were going to glue my floor down and they said that was a different process and it would cost more money. They also said it wasn't on my paperwork but I was never asked that if I wanted that done.

    Empire Today installed carpet for me back in 2018, promised me the carpet was pet proof and would be amazing. 3 years later it looks its 15 years old, completely crushed, fibers falling out. 8-10 weeks is what I have been told before an inspector to come out and look (because of COVID), "they will come to your house the next day to sell you the carpet…call, I promise they will be there the next day." Tried to order new carpet in different part of house, cancelled my install cause they sold me carpet they don't have and want to keep 25% for cancellation. Manager will not acknowledge this is Empire's mistake and wants me to wait for 30 days.

    Do not buy from this company, they did 2 bathroom floors 4 months ago and their installer did a terrible job sealing toilets, had them come out to fix the first one because it was leaking and the installer didn't think to check his work for the second toilet, months later mold has built up all under the 2nd floor because it was a slower leak than the first toilet and they don't want to accept any responsibility or for their trash job. They are willing to let my 1 year old daughter's bathroom deal with deadly mold that was clearly their fault rather than help me with this issue. WILL NOT BUY FROM THEM AGAIN. You shouldn't either. Their lack of regard or empathy is palpable and you will only regret your experience.

    I had vinyl sheet flooring put in my entire basement. I really like the new flooring. It looks wonderful. It's like a sheet of plastic. It has some cushiness to it, which is really nice, so it's not super hard. You have to be careful you move stuff out because if it gets gripped, it will tear that. It's like a thicker linoleum. But they call it vinyl laminate. But it's not individual rows. It's just one flat sheet that they roll out. It’s really huge and they have to match it up at the seam and then glue it down.

    The Empire salesman came to my house. He had samples with him so I could see them. He encouraged me to take pictures of them. Later, I asked him for a sample. They don't usually supply samples but he gave me one because I wanted to pick a paint color. So that was very helpful. However, I wish, in that flooring style, there were more color choices. There were just four. I would have liked to see a couple more.

    My products got out of stock before my date of putting them in for my installation date so they had to cancel my date. It wasn't a big deal to me at all. I just had to be pushed forward into the future a little bit. But then, it came in stock. As soon as it came in stock, they called me and said, “Okay. Instead of waiting additional two weeks, you want to schedule it sooner? Because we have it in stock.” They kept me informed on the availability of my products as they did temporarily go out of stock. The installation team was awesome. They told us what they were gonna do. They were efficient. They were faster than we thought they were going to be. They were flexible and did a wonderful job. We were very pleased with them. Very top-notch people.

    Empire has been around forever, and we wanted to go with a solid company like that. They were offering a good deal, too. The sales gentleman was really good. He was personable but didn't follow up after, though. The installers were good. The only problem we did have was that the billing took a while. As far as the flooring, a full-sized sample would be good for consumers so they can get more of an idea of how the patterns are gonna show up. That is something that we had to change in the fly. They brought out the flooring we picked and then it didn't seem that would be the proper quality that we needed. So, we ended up switching, but they were really good with accommodating all that. We were overall pretty satisfied with everything.

    Empire Today was running a special for 50% off, and they would come out and show the product plus install it. It was a one stop type deal. That experience was good. But I had a bad experience with Empire Today in Seattle, Washington. The people that they had sent out to do the installation didn't want to put any padding under my floor, i.e., remove the old floor to put down a new floor. They wanted to put the new floor on top of the old floor. I had to call in to the company and the company told the workers that they had to remove the old floor to put the new one down. It was supposed to take X number of days but it ended up being extended. It was kind of a hassle.

    I don't like the flooring that I picked out. The representative had told me that it would be a good floor and kind of similar to a porcelain. When I called them and explained my dissatisfaction with it, they told me that they would replace the floor if I wanted it replaced, but they would still have to charge me for the new product. They were also supposed to put some baseboards down for me according to their representative. They had quoted me a price that the baseboard and the installation would be $380. Then they scheduled me a date for the job to be done. I waited here all day but they didn't show up. I called the guy back and asked him what the problem was. He said he would call and check. Then come to find out they hadn't even ordered the baseboard and told me that I had to start all over.

    When they got the baseboards in, they got a new manager. After I had waited all that length of time, the manager said that the $380 to put the baseboards down wasn't gonna hold. Their policy was they don't put baseboards down unless you're ordering another floor. They said that they would go ahead and send me the baseboards, but they wouldn't do the install. I had to go find somebody myself to put them in. I just cancelled the whole order because I felt like I got the runaround. If I had to order a floor to get the baseboards done, then that was what they should have said in the first place.

    I had three Empire sales reps come out there. The first two that came out there did not please me. I went with another competitor and got a quote. Then I decided to give Empire a chance again.     The sales was fine but when the installers came out, they didn't have their paperwork together. I had to get on the phone because they had the amounts wrong. Also, they could have taken their time a little bit more with the installation instead of rushing. They put the flooring down fast. I had carpet and LVP done and the carpet could have been of better quality but I haven't seen any problems with the vinyl planks.

    I had a great room and a hallway carpet installed by Empire Today. Two guys came to install and one was good. He spoke some English. He did the main room and left his apprentice on his own and didn't oversee the work in the hallway. This apprentice was a really young kid, and it was obvious to me he didn't know what he was doing. I've got three places in the hallway now with a carpet that’s buckling up on me. They didn't get it tight enough. When I pay this good money for carpet, I expect it to be flat.

    I'm trying to get somebody out here to do a little repair. They have to come out and re-pull the carpet in the hallway. It's pretty straightforward, like a half-hour job. I left several calls with Empire Today but no one ever returned it. I called Sunday, and they said someone will get back to me in three days. They gave me this guy’s name, Olson, somewhere up here where I'm located. I left him three calls, but he's never called me back. When Empire Today did my whole basement, I was super happy. They did a wonderful job. This time, I'm getting tired calling them.

    The reps were very friendly, engaging and informative. This was the second time Empire came out and it was a more challenging installation. I was redoing the flooring upstairs in the bathroom for a remodel so they had to patchwork all the current flooring in with the previous flooring. The installation techs did a very good job of making sure that everything was going to match and fit together flush. It extended the time frame out for what we originally set for the install but the quality of work was good. So, it was worth the additional time and cost because of their attention to detail.

    I did laminate flooring throughout the house and a small amount of carpeting for the stairs. I like the combination of how the flooring looks and how durable it is. I live an active life. I've got a kid and a dog, and I didn't want something that I had to be super cautious about but I still wanted something that looked nice. This is a good blend of all of that.     When I signed a contract with Empire Today, I told them that I was bringing my husband home from assisted living. I needed it done as soon as they could get installers. I also indicated that I wanted transition strips -- I got wood in the hallway and dining room and carpet in my front room -- and I asked if I could have those. They said they don't normally do that. Then, they said they couldn't find them the same color as my wood and they don't think I need them. I paid $12,000 for this whole shebang. I want transition strips. I told them I'm not that picky with the color. If they could just find something that has a little red in it like my floors, I’d be happy.

    They sent the installer out and he put a quarter round on the stairs where all the fibers were coming out. Then he took a look at my carpet in the front room, which I had noticed they didn't secure the seams. He took a picture of it and sent it to his manager. I called the manager and they said that it's probably the manufacturer. But it's not, it’s the way it was put in. Finally, he sent an inspector out who looked at it. The inspector said I'm going to have to have a whole new carpet in here and they just can't piece it. He said he's going to do that as soon as possible. In the interim, I brought my husband home and I had to relocate a lot of furniture back in the front room where they are going to have to lay the carpet. I have no idea if it would be done soon but I trust that young man's word. I really was not happy with Empire, though.

    We picked out a carpet and Empire called us the night before and said that it wasn't available. We had to take a substitute which was a higher-grade one. We didn't have any choice 'cause we had all the furniture moved out of the rooms. I like that it's easy to clean and it feels good on the feet. I had a letter from one of the managers and she sent to me again the credit card contract that I had signed. I signed it again and sent it to her and nothing. I haven’t heard anything.     I got carpet from Empire and the only dissatisfaction I had was with the scheduling. Somebody had called me on the day that I wasn't scheduled to let me know that the carpet came in and it was damaged and that they'd have to reorder it. I thought, "Well, it wasn't supposed to be delivered today anyway." Then, when it was supposed to be delivered, I didn't know whether they were coming or not. So, that was kind of a hassle. Other than that, the install team did a wonderful job.

    I had my new kitchen floor installed on Dec. 8, 2021. My husband and I are very happy with the style and color, and the sales person, Ed helped me make the selection. We have received many, many compliments on it! Although I had some questions and concerns about what we were going to do about the previous vinyl moulding that was previously glued up against the woodwork all around the kitchen, my options were to leave it on, us tearing it off ourselves as the installer would not remove it, or paint it black according to the sales person. Overall, we were concerned that it would not look good either way, so we decided to leave the old vinyl moulding on (it was an off-white) and the installer sliced the molding all the way around, so that our new floor went right up against it and put matching (same color of the floor) trim against it. The installer, Eduardo was knowledgeable and professional! He worked alone and did a fantastic job!

    We went with Empire because they installed our hardwood floors eight years ago and it was totally fine then. So we were under the impression that we were going to have a good experience again, but that did not happen. We had three bedrooms and the hallway done this time around. But the first crew that came in didn't lay the carpet in the right direction. So the seams were very obvious. They had excess glue underneath the carpet where they seamed it. So it felt like there was a rock underneath there. Another crew came out to try to fix it and they said they found all the stuff that was wrong with it. But then work was stopped because they didn't have enough carpet.

    Another crew came out and found something wrong with the carpet in the bedroom. The backing to the carpet was separating and not sticking to the glue as it needed to be. So then they decided they had to replace the hallway and the master bedroom. When they got through with their inspection of that they were like, they said, "You know what? Really, the whole thing needs to be done because it's completely incorrect.” So there were problems everywhere where the carpet met the tile in the bathroom and where the carpet met the tile on the hardwood floors.

    Empire sent an inspector out and he inspected all three rooms in the hallway. It was agreed that the carpets in the whole three bedrooms and the hallway and all the closets had to be replaced. I talked to customer service at Empire and told them to make sure that the people that they were sending out were experienced because the problem was with the installation, not so much the materials. Empire hired a bunch of green people that don't have proper training.

    On a fourth appointment, Empire came out with a more experienced crew. So after two months, we finally got the carpeting replaced and put in correctly in by a more experienced crew and then asked for a discount from Empire because every time we had to do this, we had to move furniture. They agreed to give us back 25%.

    What got me was the website had the picture. Plus, Empire specializes in flooring. The salesman, I was okay with. But he didn't have much of a personality. I was in sales for a long time. And if I was coming to somebody's home, I would say, "Boy, this really is beautiful. This is gonna look fantastic.” But he was just a dud. I would have come in and said, "Wow. Look at this." Even if we're not getting paid that much or having a bad day or it's a bad commission month, you still want to show some enthusiasm. When you're selling something, you should be a bit more animated and talkative than just sitting there. When he was here, he gave me a bit of an incentive to sign up on that day. I just wanted to get it done. So, I just signed up for it.

    I was supposed to get it done on a certain date. I followed the instructions. I took all the pictures off the wall. I took everything that was breakable upstairs. The sales manager called me and said, "We can't come out tomorrow." Because they didn't have enough of the product and it was a day before the installation. I've been in sales before. I know things can happen. I talked to the guy and said, "That's okay. I'm just glad you called." I had to move all of my stuff upstairs. For two weeks, the house was in disarray. But I said, “I think it would be fair if you would compensate me.” He did take some money off and he was a nice guy. It was handled very well. All that did not damper my feelings on the experience I had with the floor.

    The workmen were polite and very professional. And they did a beautiful job on the floor. They did the whole downstairs. There was a kitchen involved with the refrigerator. There was a toilet they had to take out. They had to take out a door. They put it back perfectly. The only thing that happened was I had a pedestal sink, and I had to have somebody come in and replace it. It had to be put back in. It cost me a bit of money for that. I asked the guy, I have a slide-in stove and when he put the flooring underneath the slide-in stove, it was raised a bit above my countertop. So I talked to the guy and said that was not right. What he did was he very neatly cut a little hole around the flooring and I couldn't even see it, and now it's flush with the counter.

    I love the flooring that I got. It's beautiful. I want the upstairs done. But Empire didn't help me out very much. I just want to make sure that the flooring stays in stock because it's going to take me a while to save up the money to get the upstairs done. They want somebody to come out and look at it, but I'm not ready. I would hate to have somebody have come out here and do a measurement when I'm not ready. We'll just have to try it and see and maybe I can email. I just want to talk to somebody about, "Hey, is this flooring going to stay in stock? How long will it be? Is it going to stop circulation?" If I could just get a definitive, "Well, this is a very high selling floor. We're probably going to have this in stock for the next year or two or three," I'd feel more comfortable because it would be at least $10,000 to $12,000.

    We hired Empire Today to install vinyl flooring in the bathrooms because of the way it stands up to water. The salesman gave us a quote and we had the flooring installed and it looked great. But within a few weeks the quarter round started to warp and pull away from the walls. After a few months it really started to look terrible and we called Empire and they sent some installers out to install new floors. They came into the bathrooms and inspected the damage and went outside and called their customer service department.

    One of the techs came back in the house and handed me the phone. The customer service agent on the phone informed that they would charge me $125 to replace the substandard quarter-round with the same substandard quarter round. The materials they used were made of engineered or softwood, something clearly not meant to stand up to the humidity and occasional splash which occurs inside any bathroom. There are better and more appropriate products out there made of extruded plastic or solid vinyl but there were not offered as an option and at the time of our install I did not know any better. Empire Today failed to stand behind the workmanship of their products and I, for one, am very disappointed and will definitely not be recommending them to anyone who is seeking new floors.

    I got the laminate flooring from Empire Today and I'm still trying to get ahold of somebody in reference to the fact that I have scratches in it. I also had a hard time with the installers. When I talked to three different people, they kept telling me that they'd have somebody out to contact me and that was as far as I got. I dealt with Empire years and years ago, and everything was fine. This time, I had nothing but harassment. Everything was a big hassle and I was back and forth on the phone with the installers. They wanted to do this, they had to rip up that, they wanted to charge me all this money, and I wasn't very happy.     Zack, the sales consultant, did an excellent job. He came prepared with different colors and different options. He did a good job in that. Seeing is believing. We decided that we were going to take the wall to wall carpeting out of our loft and bedroom area upstairs and a guest bedroom downstairs. So that was what the installers did. They replaced it with laminate. I tried to match as closely as possible to the rest of the laminate that was engineered hardwood that was already in place. They did as well as could be expected because the house is 16 years old. But they weren't clear on the final price. It was different from what I had been quoted so, I had to get on the phone with the salesperson. English is not the chief installer’s first language so that was a little difficult. Also, I had to pay upfront before the work was completed and that bothered me. That was the first time I've ever had that experience. But the guys did a great job.

    When the salesperson originally came for the appointment, he was a nice guy. I selected the luxury vinyl plank over the tile and he told me that they could do that flooring. But when the installers got here, all of them said, “No. That's impossible. We can't do that.” So then I talked to the manager and he said, “Well, I'm gonna review and see if there's any price differences.” I already purchased a lot of wood to put down over the tile as he told me that I would need to have. So I had some piles of wood that they brought that I wasn't gonna be able to use. I told him, “Well, I don't think it should be any more than the original quote because they can take those back.” So we came to an agreement.

    My house was like a warzone and I had to hire a professional cleaner to remediate the problem. The installers from Empire did have to pour more concrete on the slab because it wasn't level. So they worked real hard. The installer said, “No problem. I'll bring some plastic.” But then I had to step out and I thought that since he had the plastic, he was gonna put it. I had a lot of it covered as much as I could. But he didn't. They didn't really try to cover things up. Everything that I put in the garage to protect from them, they just put all their saws and wood and materials at the entrance of the garage and then got the garage covered in dust with all my doors open. It was so awful that my whole family including my cats were sick. But they were good craftsmen and after it was all said and done, I love my floors, but it was the worst process that I've ever had to deal with.

    We contacted customer service after we noticed some bubbling in our carpet that was installed Sept 2020. Initially, they were responsive to our request and asked that we submit pictures of the area. We supplied them with photos and were contacted the next day with their decision. Since our installation warranty was only good for 1 year, they were going to charge us for the price of the stretching. When asked if they normally see bubbling after 16 months, they replied 'no'. This left us to believe that this was outside of the norm yet they were still not willing to offer correction of the problem without charging us. In addition, while discussing our dissatisfaction with their decision, their rep hung up on me twice. After the second time, I called back and requested to speak to the manager. He was much more apologetic, however stuck to his guns on the resolution. We will never recommend or use Empire ever again.

    I had plank kitchen flooring done. It was fine except for one thing. I was getting carpeting too. They took off the carpet and saw that I had a nice hardwood floor underneath, and I decided to cancel the carpeting. But there are a few things I was not pleased with with Empire Today, which would not make me use them again. One, customer service was not up to par. I was on the phone forever to try to get a person to answer a question. The second thing was I never got a listing of what actually showed how much anything was, and I had disputed a bill I received. But today, somebody helped me with that. And I started paying for the kitchen floor, which I wanted to know exactly the breakdown. So they told me, and I was happy with that.

    The plank flooring doesn’t look 100% the way I would like it to be, but I'm going with it. But I did not like the fact that no one left me a brochure how to clean it, and it's more difficult than I thought. There wasn’t a brochure, “Oh, you purchased XX. This is how we would like you to take care of it.” And it should have been. I'm glad I haven't tried to clean it on my own. And when I called customer service to say, “How do you actually clean this,” they went to this big thing that they would get someone to call me back in 24 hours. I said, “Forget it.” I went online, tried to figure out how to clean planks, and found online how to clean it, how not to, what not to do. I was worried about doing the wrong thing. I paid money for something, I should be able to take good care of it.

    I had carpeting installed in the living room, dining room, and stairwell. The guy pulled up. He rang the doorbell. We went out to the carpet. We confirmed that that was in fact the carpet that I had signed for. We confirmed that the remaining balance was correct. And I was to call in for the remaining balance before they started their installation. And they brought it in. They moved the furniture and started installing. It was between three and four hours. Everything went fairly smooth. The quality of the installation, on a scale of 1 to 10, was 9.5, only because there were a few hiccups with the vents. At one point, the guy covered the vents. I was walking around every now and then, making sure everything looked good. And I figured out that he had covered the vent and an extra vent. So that was strange to me that I had to tell him. Surely, he fixed it.

    The second thing was when they moved the furniture back into the dining room, the thing that they had to pull it back to the living room was plastic and they must have hit something on the outside of it, and it scratched my hardwood floors. That was disturbing. And the third thing was when he was doing the stairs, he didn’t do the same as he did on the third step, and he was working on the fourth. So I asked him, “Why did that step did not look the same as the second and third step?” He missed it. He did it a different way. All the other steps were what they called the Hollywood style. It’s a different way of how they installed them. On the first step, he didn’t do it like that. He did a fix, and it’s okay, but not as clean as I would like it. Other than that, I like the feel of the carpet on my bare feet. It was a good deal for the money. I would recommend Empire Today. Just make sure you’re keeping an eye on things.

    The carpet is good and easy to clean. There were just some areas that make a crunching noise and it was coming from the padding. I contacted Empire about it and I was waiting for them to call back. It’s been over a couple of months now. Other than that, they were great.

    On December 4, a sales representative from Empire Today came out to give us a quote on replacing our carpet with laminate flooring. We paid a large sum of money, equal to about 50% of the entire quoted price. We were wary of starting this project close to the holidays, but we were told it would be a one-day completion and guaranteed complete before Christmas. On the 15th, the installers showed up 4 hours late and made us pay 100% upfront before they would even unload any materials from the van, which is in violation of our contract, which states that the work would be “substantially complete” before we would pay the remaining balance and that we would owe no more than 30% upfront. I should have seen this as a red flag right away, but I didn’t know any better and was basically interrogated into paying in full; they said it was “company policy” and that “everyone does it,” so we (regretfully) complied.

    That day, they only finished about half of the “work,” saying they miscalculated the materials needed by 8 full boxes and would be back the next day to complete it. Meanwhile, they had torn up all the carpet on our staircase, leaving exposed plywood and sharp nails sticking out of the floor, on which we stepped and injured ourselves, after being told it was “clean and safe to walk on.” The next day, they never showed up and postponed for another week. The following week, they were late yet again, and when they did come, they put down half of the flooring on our staircase and left the entire second staircase unfinished yet again! They said they miscalculated again by 6 more boxes and would be back the next day to fulfill the guarantee that it would be finished before Christmas.

    We took off work to be home for them, and when half the day went by and no one showed up, we tried contacting the closest branch to us, and they said they would not be coming. They just no-called, no-showed with no notice, so we missed more work for nothing. We were told a “glitch in their system” cancelled the job by accident and that they would return Christmas Eve to finish. Christmas Eve went by and, YET AGAIN, no one showed up, and they postponed for another week. We ended up having to cancel our Christmas plans because it was unsafe for children (or anyone) to be walking on the unfinished flooring with exposed nails. We respectfully asked that they send a different installer to complete the work, as it was not done professionally at all, and the installers urinated all over our bathroom toilet seats and did not flush the toilets - so disrespectful and disgusting!

    We were guaranteed by email that a new crew would be sent out and that they would send an “inspector” to look at the work, but the same people showed up again, failed to provide credentials when asked, and there was no inspector. We only agreed to let them continue because we were so far along at that point and couldn’t just leave plywood and sharp nails down to walk on and needed something while we waited to have it done correctly.

    When they said the work was “complete,” we were appalled at what we found. There were nail holes sticking out all throughout the house where the quarter round was installed; the nose pieces on the stairs were installed incorrectly and are, to this day, wobbling back and forth and unsafe; they installed damaged products (we found several chipped pieces of the new flooring upon installation); they damaged our preexisting tile flooring, trim, staircase, walls, and furniture; they were completely careless and slid heavy furniture across the floor and dropped a 700 pound treadmill onto the floor (we provided sliders to put beneath the furniture and requested they use them, but they did not); the “click-lock mechanism” was installed incorrectly, so there are gaps between the planks, exposing the preexisting wood beneath the new flooring; they inappropriately placed caulk into the large holes they created in our staircase, which look absolutely horrendous and unprofessional; they removed and threw away our door stoppers, so I had to buy new ones, etc.

    The manager at the local location told us that we needed to get “two quotes” from contractors stating the cost of damages so that we could be reimbursed. When I told him we were getting those, he changed his story and now wants 3 quotes. We have tried over and over to contact customer service, but no one ever returns our calls to resolve the issue. All we wanted and asked for was top quality, durable, waterproof flooring, but we got a cheap product that was already damaged upon installation, and they did not install it properly. We paid $13,000 for this garbage, and the manager said he would give us “$350 for the inconvenience.” What a joke!

    We are pursuing this legally, as they falsely advertised their product, breached the contract by making us pay 100% upfront, installed the product incorrectly, were unreliable throughout, caused us to miss work and injure ourselves due to carelessness, stole some of our belongings, failed to provide credentials when asked, and overall did a horrific job. This is the worst company and “customer service” I have ever experienced, and they should not be in business. Please, PLEASE read reviews and do not let this poor excuse for a company scam you as they have us! We are seeking a full refund so that we can have our floors redone properly by a local, highly reputable flooring company with licensed contractors.

    We met with the sales guy. We wrote him a check and then scheduled to have the installation done about two and a half weeks later. The crew got there the first day and it was an unfortunate incident that the son of one of the young men that was installing got hurt at daycare so they had to leave. Empire sent extra people in to catch up and I approved it. The installation appeared to be done right. They put the furniture back. However, when I went in, there was a three-foot gouge in the middle of my bedroom and there was another very noticeable seam upstairs in my son's room. They came back out, but even after they measured when they showed up, they didn't have enough carpet to do the job so they would have to come back again.

    The big issue is that the check that I wrote to them on November the 26th was cashed 32 days later. I woke up on Christmas morning and I got $5 to my name. It took them nine days to resolve the issue. They wouldn't believe me even though I was sitting there with the evidence from my bank. The secretary at the office at Pelham was trying to resolve it. I asked to talk to somebody above and I never got a phone call. I also requested a letter from them to give to my creditors to explain why I was five days late paying because they took my money and I never got that letter. It was $11,000. That was not chump change. Had they cashed that check two or three days later, I would have said that's an understandable mistake. But they cashed the check 32 days later. That didn't make sense.

    I would just wish somebody important would pick up the phone and call me. That's been the frustrating thing. I'm a VP over a hotel division and we’re having to do renovations so I'm trying to be understanding because I'm having to put up with stuff at work. Also, the check thing just so turned me off, and the way that Empire had done it. They've almost exposed themselves legally because of the way that it's been handled and none of us need to be doing that these days.

    Empire Today was very professional and got the job done in a very timely manner. They came and took up the old flooring. Once they did that, they started on laying the floor down. They cleaned up and removed everything that was taken up and everything that they used. I was pleased.     We just got carpeting done in two rooms and a hallway. The installation was not so good because there was a delay. The crew didn't bring what was needed to level the floors out the first time around. There was a logistical mess up so the crew had to go back, get the stuff, and reschedule us. They resolved that quickly but that was a day or two out. Empire should iron out those logistical things and make sure they do it right the first time. There should be proper communications with the installers. Also, there was a language barrier with the installers, which was not convenient.

    We're in Lexington now where we just bought a home and the first thing I did was look for Empire. The carpet needed to be replaced and Empire was amazing. This is the third time we used Empire. Our sales guy was nice and really funny. As we were moving in, he said they couldn't come but I said they had to, to get the carpet down and we would just have to make it work. So, I had a huge Allied semi truck parked upfront and they were coming in the front door. I had carpet people cutting carpet and coming in the garage door.

    The crew was like a well-oiled machine. We just had the hardwood redone. We told them that they can't drag the carpet down the stairs and that they would have to pick it up. Everything was a little heavy and we had a huge room. It was over a three-car garage. The workers were quick. They were here for two or three days. Also, they were extremely polite. Some couldn't speak English very well but that was okay. We worked it out. They had some obstacles but they did a great job.

    Ordered flooring for 2 rooms (carpet). 2 weeks later they showed up to demo my tile (Note! I was having carpet removed from two rooms and replaced). 10 more days and 3 missed appointments an installer that appeared to be from a street corner arrived with about 1/2 enough carpet for the job. 4 days later the same guy arrived with enough product. Drove through my landscaping with tire spinning and left black marks on driveway. After working all day he left the premise atrocious with little cleanup. Many calls and written complaints and no returned communication. Very subpar vendor and I recommend that one seek services from anyone else as this is not the route you want to go.

    We're very pleased with the vinyl flooring. But there was a problem with the installation. The first time, I had to take off work because the installers wanted me to be there, but they called and canceled a few days before. During the second time, I had to end up taking off work again and when they came, they called that morning and said they were about an hour and a half away. But I waited three hours. When I hadn't heard anything, I called the number back and there was no voicemail had been set up on that phone. I finally got in touch with the rep that I bought the flooring from and he tried to get in touch with them. They eventually called back and he said, "Did you call me?" I asked, "Is this from Empire?" He said, "Yes." He said he was sorry, but he didn't realize that there were two places they had to go and I was actually the second place. But nobody called me. So I sat around all day waiting for that.

    When the installers came, there were three Mexican-speaking guys. Their van had no logo on it. It was just a white van. But they were very nice and polite. They did a terrific job but only one of them spoke English, which made it really hard for me to communicate because he would have to go get the other guy every time. But that was the only issue that I had. The flooring looks beautiful. I've got nothing but compliments on it. It's a good product.

    I chose to go to with Empire because I didn't want to pay cash for the laminate flooring that was to be put in two bedrooms. I wanted to put a finance on my purchase and try to build my credit. My sales rep was on top of his game. When the installers first came, I was at a funeral. The second time someone came, it was Christmas Eve.     The sales rep was great. He was very thorough. He seemed very knowledgeable. The installation crew was great at first, and then not so much. We had the contract written up. We were told what was in the contract, and we were told that baseboard and quarter round was included in the contract. But it turned out that the quarter round was included, but not the baseboard. When the installation crew came, they had the quarter round, but they did not have the baseboard. So then, they partially installed the quarter round and said that they would have to be back for the baseboard. They came back with the baseboard. For what they didn't install, they forgot the quarter round on the second installation, so they had to come back for a third trip. It was very poor planning. Somebody dropped the ball at the warehouse and didn't make a note. It was frustrating that we had to schedule three appointments for one install.

    I called Empire after the first install to talk about the baseboard. Then a regional manager called me and I missed it, so I called back. When I called back, I left a message on his voicemail. I got another call back from a call office saying, "Oopsie. Sorry. I'm sending an email right now and you'll get a call back from the regional." But I never got a call back from the regional, and that was when the miscommunication about the quarter round happened and the third install had to happen. So if a regional says that he's gonna call me back, I expect a call from the regional.

    The sales rep showed us a place in the contract where the baseboard was included, but he misled us. We saw where it said quarter round, and we were able to go back and find that, it just didn't say baseboard. But Empire said, "Okay. Because he told you that it was included even though it wasn't written in the contract, because you were expecting it, we'll install it." It wasn't in the contract, but they did honor it because we said that that was what the rep told us. There was no fight about it, it was just done. So I was very pleased with how they handled that.

    The installers were not expecting that last installation that they did with the quarter round. They weren't real happy about having to come back for a third time, and the installation on that part was a little sloppy. But we were able to fix it, and it's no big deal. It was just the result of somebody being tired of it and being ready to move on. But once the flooring was done, it looks good.

    The experience was good. Our biggest issue was the installers. Either they didn't read the expectations or they weren't given a clear understanding of what they were to be doing. Some guys showed up and like, “I didn’t know I was doing the floor too.” It was a setback. The flooring guys did the wood floor and they did awesome. The tile guy showed up and he didn't know that he was supposed to be doing anything but he got things done just like he needed to.

    Our issue was with the carpet guys and them coming out. We scheduled three weeks prior and on the day of, they called and said, “Our guys didn't know we were supposed to be doing anything, so we don't have the tools for it. Can we do it tomorrow or next week?” I said, “No. We've got painting scheduled. We got other things scheduled. It has to take place today.” Long story short, they showed up and worked Saturday and Sunday. So all in all, everything worked out as it should. But the communication with the dispatch and the actual installers didn't go as smooth as it should have. The flooring we got is good quality stuff. The carpet looks good and we're pleased with it.

    We've worked with Empire for years. They're okay. They don't waste any time. They come in, do their job and they're out. Then if there's something wrong, I just tell them what's wrong. They'll send somebody out. They'll take pictures, come back in and repair what's wrong, and explain to me what caused the problem. Quality is good, too. My upstairs floor is great. It's holding up with what they said it would do. The installers do fine, too. If they have a Hispanic crew, there's always a couple of people who speak English fluently and I understand what it is they're saying and what they're trying to do.

    Empire Today!! This is a TRUE story, experience by my family and I because we contracted with Empire Today; and if made into a film would be classified as "A living nightmare"/An horror story. (Get comfy, get popcorn, it's lengthy.) This whole ordeal has cause us Undue stress, pain/suffering, hardship and damages to our home. Buyer Beware: They advertising 1/2 off sale, but be careful this is NOT 1/2 off Re: Quality of work- like we got.

    Contracted with Empire Today for a professional job to do Carpet and lvp/spc flooring. Instead, however we got:

    Lvp/Spc Indicated as Waterproof, Scratchproof, etc.
     • Either defective materials or Not installed correctly- since water is seeping from top/surface to subfloor (Causing damages to subfloor).
     • Area of same lvp/spc floor board is damaged (top layer peeling, noted since installation).

     • Contracted for floating installation, however some areas are glued.

    Quarter round
     • Not flushed with cabinet, so left with hole beneath.
     • Different color from cabinet and flooring.

     • Baseboard left not secured to wall, some falling off. Some areas with nails head protruding. Proves Dangerous!!

    Tiolet reset
     • Missing bolts covers for toilet- left with sharp bolt protruding. Danger!! (dangerous, got cut/injury from same)

     • Tiolet leaking from base (not reset correctly).

    Re: Carpet:
     • Questionable Work quality: Carpet done like patchwork (all rooms seams are visible) and some areas are uneven, some not flat.
     • Blatant disrespect for property: Contracting crew just rip furniture from wall- leaving hole in our wall (book case). Nonchalant care for customer's property.
     • Poor work standards: Carpet was left unvacuumed with carpet shred, pieces in all areas. (Proves dangerous for infants/children- to easily pick up, place in mouth and be choked.)
     • Carpet left with funk smell, definitely not "new" carpet smell.
     • Carpet thrown into master closet- not secured to floor- Plus on Empire correction to same carpet was stapled to underpad and left with several loose staples, got injured while attempting to remove these loose Staples.

     • Contractor/workmen initially came unprepared, with missing materials for job, and unsure as to the scope of the job.

    Customer service/Satisfaction:

    We are treated with such disdain/contempt by Empire. First, instead of making us a priority, since the initial installation can only attest to the professionalism of job done.- As clearly listed here, instead we are treated as an inconvenience by Empire and required to be subjected to their convenient time to do Repairs. Several attempts were made to contact a Manager, or Managing personnel; however were completely ignored on all occasions. In fact, we were even given an unreal email address for Management personnel/department. OMG!! Be reminded that all of this was brought to Empire attention, since the job was deemed completed by Empire crew/contractor. Spoke on several occasions with Customer service reps. from Empire Today. (Only people we were 'allowed' to talk to, even with several requests to speak with Management personnel.) Wow!! Need we say more!! Total headache!! Total Stress!!

    Well they did make attempts to fix the clearly unprofessional job done, but was still left undone and job incompleted. (Will attached pictures, if allowed with review.) Well after 30 days, we got contacted by a Manager, and now scheduled for further repairs to be done. Once again, The fact is Empire would not need these "repairs visits" If initial installation and attempting repairs was effective and done correctly. This can only attest to the lack of professionalism and quality of job initially done. Hopefully this will be the last attempted repairs to fix. To end this painful Nightmare for my family and I... Stay tuned!! But seeing this as an experience- We will NEVER again use Empire Today, for Anything. NEVER recommend them to anyone. And everyone we know and/or associated with know of our experience with them - Need I say more. Happy Holiday everyone.

    Empire did great work the previous time. But I had some issues the second time 'round. I got a hold of the scheduler immediately and she dispatched a salesperson who came the next day. They were great. But when the techs installed the carpet, they brushed up against my light gray walls and the paint got messed up. So, I had to have somebody repaint my walls after Empire redid my flooring. The gentlemen said it was their blue jeans rubbing up against my walls which made them get discolored. But Empire is taking care of it and reimbursing me $250 'cause I had to come out of pocket for the painter.

    The laminate flooring is top-notch. However, the bullnose at the top of the stairs needs improvement. It's a specialty piece and unfortunately, Empire said they didn't have that. So, we had to fabricate something and it looks less than desirable.

    What should have been a quick, TWO appointment process, turned into a month-long, SEVEN appointment process. After basically trapping me into working with them by overpromising, I was offered a discount of less than 4% for all the inconveniences. The ONLY reason I chose Empire was because I was in a pinch and needed carpet ASAP. It was the only thing holding me up from moving into my house and I didn’t want to extend my lease for another month. I shopped around and all other places said it would take them 3 to 5 weeks, which is reasonable considering the state of the world right now. I know that supplies are low and every place is understaffed, so I didn’t expect Empire to still be offering next-day installation. However, I called their customer service to see what their lead time was. They confirmed that they were still offering next-day installation, so I scheduled an at-home estimate.

    On the day of my appointment, nobody showed up and nobody called to tell me that nobody would be coming. I called customer service. They offered me $50 off my order and rescheduled me for a later date. On the day of my second scheduled appointment, again, nobody showed up. This time I got a call from a local manager explaining that one of their reps was in quarantine, but would be out in a few days. I understood since things are unpredictable right now, so I rescheduled again. I should have realized how incompetent this company is by this point. However, I was desperate for carpet so I decided to still work with them. Third time’s the charm because the sales rep did show up this time. I asked the sales rep which carpets were in stock because I wanted to get this done sooner rather than later. He said that all the carpets were in stock. So, I picked a carpet, signed a contract, and scheduled my installation for a few days out.

    The night before my scheduled installation, I got a call saying that my carpet was NOT in stock. I figured it was way too late to try to switch my carpet to one that was in stock, even though I would have been willing to do so in order to keep my installation date. They rescheduled for the following week. I was extremely frustrated at this point, so I emailed the list of people that were on my welcome email. I got a call the next day from one of them. I explained that I had to take off work every single time they scheduled an appointment with me and that this was holding me up from moving into my house. All I got was an “I’m sorry” and an “I understand”.

    Despite everything they put me through, I did not ask for a discount. I did not ask for special treatment. All I wanted was a 100% guarantee that my carpet would be installed on the date they rescheduled me for because I couldn’t afford to take off work for the FIFTH time and still not have it happen. She gave me that 100% guarantee.

    The night before my rescheduled installation date, I got a call saying that they still did not have enough carpet to install the next day. I called back and spoke with the manager I had talked to previously, Mrs. 100% Guarantee. She tried to reschedule me again. I wouldn’t do that because Empire had lost my trust. She said she’d wait until the carpet actually came in, then she’d call to schedule an installation. I told her that I wasn’t sure that I wanted to continue with them. I explained that I’d rather wait another 5 weeks and give my money to a company that actually deserves it. She said she’d see what she could do “compensation wise” and that she’d call me the next day. Did I get a call the next day? NOPE.

    I was completely done with these people at this point. I was planning to just work with somebody else instead. Then, two days after I told her that I no longer wanted to work with them, I got a call saying that an installer from Empire was on their way to my house. I had not scheduled this appointment. I had not been notified of this appointment. Most importantly, nobody had gotten back to me for me to agree on a discount. Despite how much I did not want to give these people my business, after being lied to and jerked around for four weeks, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to finally get some carpet.

    Before I had the opportunity to speak with Mrs. 100% Guarantee, who promised to get back to me the day prior, the installers showed up at my door and of course they would not start the installation process until it was paid for. Towards the end of the installation process, I was told that they did not have enough carpet to finish the job. Soon after this, I finally got a call from Mrs. 100% Guarantee, she said she spoke with her manager and was able to give me a whopping $100 discount. That is $100 off an over $2,500 order… literally less than a 4% discount.

    My question is, did it take her two days to negotiate that $100 discount? Or was she maybe waiting for me to pay for my order and have the carpet installed before telling me that they were basically offering me nothing? Also, I’d like to mention that the first $50 off I was promised, the first time they had to reschedule, NEVER got applied. So, why would I possibly believe that I am getting any money back? Absolute scam of a company.

    I know that it is my own fault that I was so desperate for carpet, but all I asked for was honesty. If they knew it could end up being a month-long process, I should have been told that upfront. If their booking system has been overscheduling them (which I’m sure is what is actually happening), I would have understood. There is so much miscommunication in this company, that they constantly promise things they can’t deliver. Please figure out your system. I don’t know how you’re still in business.

    The agent was knowledgeable and the installation of the laminate went well. Empire is a reputable company but whoever dispatches the work doesn't know the territory. For the carpet, it was scheduled for one day and Empire screwed up. The installer was coming from 50 miles out to do the second installation. I used to be a dispatcher, and they're really wasting a lot of time, energy, and gas just to try to get to the second consumer. I was dissatisfied with the way that everything was done.

    I did laminate flooring and carpeting. It's 25% less money-wise towards the entire job and the installation was expertly done. The rep got us through the purchase and what would be the best aspect of the flooring needed for the steps so that we wouldn't slip and fall down.     Empire's sales guy was really nice and he showed me a lot of samples. But I was a little upset when it came to the point when he put the job in since he didn’t let the installers know exactly what was going to be needed. So unfortunately, when the installers came out the first time, they didn't have the proper tools they needed. And they didn't have the transition piece between the carpet and the woods. So they had to come back at another time. When it got put in, they did a good job and it all worked out. Overall, I was happy with Empire.

    I moved into an apartment that had old carpeting. I didn't like carpeting, so I wanted to put some flooring in. My sister was already in the building and she had just gotten some plank vinyl installed by Empire. Also, I had used them in the past for carpeting so I used them again. I initially contacted the salesperson that my sister had and he forgot to show up on time so I just called the office and they sent me someone else who was very good.

    There was one snafu in my initial appointment for installation. They have a computer system on an iPad and if something is on sale, but the color you want isn't showing up, they have to use another color and they manually change it. Something in there didn't go through correctly and the wrong color came, which wouldn't have been that big of an issue. It's just that my building had a lot of construction and it made it very difficult to reschedule for a long while. But when the construction was over, I got it rescheduled. They came in and were very efficient, and it was all good.

    My first experience was with a house and houses were much easier. Condos have condo rules and COIs and there are more places for things to go awry a little bit like you can only install on weekdays between 8:00 and 5:00. It's difficult to get a guarantee that Empire will put a note in that they'll put you first. You sit there and bite your nails because if they're gonna come at 1:00 or 2:00, they might not get done. There should be something in the process that whoever is assigned to a condo, has to handle it a little differently. But it seems to ultimately work in the end.

    Worked with Empire Today on my floor install. To start, the salesperson did not fully explain the financing and I thought the entire job would be financed, only about a third of the job went through financing. When I asked about it, the salesperson said not to worry, everything would be fine. It wasn't and I had to pay for the job out of pocket. Second, the salesperson screwed up on my order. The install team had the wrong carpet pad and not enough material. This was discovered AFTER they ripped up my old carpet. I was told I needed to wait another 2 days before they could finish. On the third day, I was told that they could not complete the install due to a medical emergency

    After 4 days of waiting to get my carpet installed, as which I have no bed or furniture, since they have already ripped up my floor, I called to complain. I was told by Empire Today customer service that I was being an unreasonable customer. As it sits, I have paid for my flooring in full and it is not installed. My issues with Empire Today are due to poor sales representatives and absolutely the worst customer service I have ever had to deal with.

    I got the laminate flooring from Empire Today and I love it. I've got it through the kitchen, dining room, and living room. The installers were quick, professional, nice, and polite. But we ran into one problem. They had to cut out on the bottom to make the planks go underneath the woodwork and one of them hit a wire, then we lost power for a while. But it's an old house and my husband came from work and he tied off the electrical thing. So nobody got electrocuted. Now, we’re without a ceiling light in the living room but my husband has to fix that. All in all, I'm pretty satisfied with Empire Today.

    The installation crew handled themselves well. We had a problem but I talked to Empire and they solved it. The thing that was wrong was that the guy took the measurements and where they use the automatic equipment, it's pretty easy to take them. When they came out with the carpet, they were short a 6 foot wide by 12 foot piece. But they came out two days later and brought the rest and did it. It looks fine and I'm happy. It was inconvenient but those things happen. Overall, I was satisfied.

    We wanted something that was going to last us quite a long time that would look really nice. I asked a handful of coworkers, a couple of which who live in the area, who have dealt with some other companies around the area of Marengo, and a couple of other coworkers had really highly recommended Empire. So we did our research as far as pricing and what kind of products would be available to us. Given the supply chain shortages with some of the other smaller companies, Empire had pretty well what we wanted for about as reasonable of a price as we were going to get anywhere else.

    Our customer service rep that came out was named Tom and he was a super nice guy. He was very punctual and very friendly. As a matter of fact, I saved his card because we will be doing floors again in the future in other rooms and we plan to go with Empire on that. I didn't feel like he tried to really upsell, per se and he wasn't pushy about getting us to buy the most expensive and the most up-to-date. He really listened to what my husband and I wanted in our floors, what we were looking for, and our budget. Then he helped us make the best decision possible for our floors.

    As far as installation, the timeline was really fast. At the time, Empire was having a sale for what they had in stock in their warehouses, which also helped motivate us to pick the flooring that we did because we knew they had it, so it wouldn't take us months to get our floor put in. The installation happened about two weeks of having our appointment with Tom. The installers came and put our floors in. Tom was very clear that it should only take them about a day to get our flooring put in. But sometimes there would be hiccups here or there along the way, whether it's with the subfloors or materials. So he said he couldn't 100% promise that they'd have everything and be done in a single day. But usually, he said it didn't take more than a couple of days.

    Our installers were very personable people but they were a little underprepared when they got here. We paid for a separate service where an antimicrobial spray would be put down before laying the flooring down and when the installers came, they said that they were not able to obtain that antimicrobial spray from Empire’s warehouse upon pickup. They couldn't really give us a clear answer why but they went ahead and drove to the nearest big box store. They were gone for quite a while and subsequently, they weren't able to get our floors done in a single day. It took them about a day and a half to get it done, which is really no huge deal. But it was a little bit frustrating that they didn't have everything that they needed when they got here.

    When they did go to pick up the rest of the material they needed, they were gone for a close to three hours, maybe a little more, and the nearest store is only about 30 minutes away. So it took them some time. But the flooring that they installed seems to be very well done and we don't have any complaints as far as anything looking like it’s poor workmanship or buckling. The floors look great.

    One of the other companies that we talked to tried to push a similar but not exactly the same flooring to us. They claimed that it was 100% waterproof and it was not. The top layer of it was waterproof, but if any water was to seep through the cracks in the floor, it would absolutely damage our floor. And that was something that I had brought up to Tom. He took very good care of us and he wasn't this kind of swindler salesman that sometimes people get a little worried about dealing with. I gave him my concerns and he was very attentive to those concerns. So if anybody is considering going with Empire, they should make sure to read the fine print on what their flooring needs are. If they're worried about scratch resistance, they should make sure that they talk to their sales reps about what it is as specifically as they can. But Empire takes care of people.

    In March of 2021, I had laminate and carpet installed in my home. Laminate install went well, but when time came for the carpet, 1st time they came they didn’t have enough carpet! The main floor and basement were what I was having done, but they didn’t bring the carpet for the basement. Then the 2nd time they came out, the first guy measured wrong and they didn’t have enough carpet for the main floor! So they had to come out a 3rd time! Then I started noticing bubbling on the laminate in the kitchen! Apparently the sales man who came out failed to mention that the laminate I picked out shouldn’t be used in the kitchen, so that voided the warranty.

    Now I have bubbling all over and not just where there is water like by the sink! I said I would pay to the spots replaced and the installer came out this morning and told me they didn’t give him enough laminate because they will have to redo the whole kitchen floor. After he talked to his manager, I was informed I would have to pay $900 out of pocket!!!! That’s on top of the almost 9k I paid to have the carpet and laminate installed! Next time I will use Home Depot or Lowes because at least they explain clearly what products you need for each room and they actually stand by their product and service! Empire is such a joke!!!

    I wanted to match the flooring that I had done in 2017 with Empire Today. I was disappointed that when I called them and told them that, they assured me that they had that flooring but when the representative got here, he said they haven't had that flooring in a long time. Working through finding another floor that was a similar match to what I had in my other room was a little bit of a challenge. That was where I felt like I was being pressured. I felt as if, if I had said no, I would have been pushed. There was a little bit of contention at the end there, but it worked out fine. What I object to most is I called customer service at least twice to find out if the installers could install it in the rain and they said yes. They lied and we couldn't get ahold of anybody on Monday. But when the guys came at 3 o'clock to say they couldn't do it, they came at 8 o'clock Tuesday morning and were fantastic.     The initial sales guy was great. I had to reschedule but there was no problem with that. The quality of the work done wasn't great and there were a few issues that I thought were a little sloppy, but it was okay. My biggest issue was that when we placed our initial order for flooring in our master bath, we decided that we also wanted to put flooring in the adjacent walk-in closet. So I called and they set an appointment for a sales rep to come out and see me. The morning of the day he was supposed to arrive, he texted me saying that he was actually running early.

    At that point, I said, "That's great. It probably won't take you that long. This is just an addition to an order that I had already purchased." And he questioned that in the text saying, "What do you mean it's just an add-on?" After that, I did not hear from him and he never showed up that day. So the adjacent walk-in closet did not get done. That was very frustrating. I assumed it was just one sales guy deciding that it's not worth it because he's not going to get a big enough commission and he just blew me off. I didn't like that at all.     The quality of Empire Today's product was really nice, and the person that came out to install it did really well. The only issue that I had was with the customer service every time I called in. I called in quite a few times and they never understood what I was talking about. We were trying to get the haul-away fee taken off because we had disposed of the old carpet. That never got taken care of. Then when the install guy came out, the carpet was originally measured wrong. So, we had to wait another day for the carpet to be installed. They were able to get that out really fast but every time I called the customer service line to chat with them about it, they didn't seem like they wanted to be on the phone. We tried to talk to them about the haul-away fee, but we ended up just leaving it.

    The install date was great. The guy showed up. He gave me a call beforehand, told me that he was like 10 minutes out just to make sure that I was there. He came in and we were there the whole time, and he got it done really quickly. He did all the re-measurements. So, he already measured everything before he started bringing the carpet down. After he was done, he cleaned everything up. He vacuumed. Then he walked me through the room and showed me everything. He was the best overall. He was really easy to communicate with.

    I had a rep Josh come out the second week of October for an estimate, I am a new home owner and was looking to have the floors redone in my entire home. Josh walked me thru the steps, showed me material, set up a payment plan and gave me some available dates. After seeing this company on commercials and the web, I assumed this was a good and trustworthy company. I was set up with 2 appointments because according to the salesperson, this job was so big he wanted to make sure it got completed. First date of installation was set up for 10/20/21.

    The installers ended up being in my home for 3 days instead of the 2 I was told, which was ok because I wasn’t moved in. After the 3 day, I had missing thresholds, closet doors were taken off and not replaced, my fence was broken, washing machine unhooked. I tried to get in touch with the installation manager with no response, tried to get in touch with the installer who was at my house but he told me I had to contact Empire, I even contacted my sales rep and he did nothing. Over a week later after I filed a complaint with the BBB. I heard from the installation manager the same day, who was extremely unfriendly and set me up with an appointment for 11/17 to have the work done. The fact that I had to wait an additional two weeks for something that wasn’t my fault was absurd.

    11/17- the installer comes out and according to him he was not given the correct material. Again I try to reach out to the installation manager, as of today I have heard nothing. This is false advertisement, this is not what you guys promote. The customer service for this company is horrible, I have left over 3 messages for the installation department and not 1 return phone call. Over a month later and I am still waiting to have my job completed.

    The in-home sales rep who came out was great. He was masked and everything, too, which was important to me because my husband was going through cancer treatments. We had a great rapport.     Empire's sales rep was very pleasant and their installers were very attentive. I was really pleased with them. But I was replacing my carpet and I had to wait a long while. On the first delivery date that they had, they waited like the day before to call me and tell me they wouldn't be able to come because they didn't put the carpet in the truck. I had to wait for a couple of weeks before I got the second appointment. That was when they had this storm and they said that the warehouse was flooded. Then, there was another cancellation when they were supposed to come. I was really upset. But they finally came and brought the carpet. Now that it's installed, I love it. I recommended to my friends that Empire was good, even though I had a little problem.

    The rep was a very nice man. A man and his wife did the entire installation together. They had to move one dresser and everything was left perfect. I had padding, tackless strip, and new carpet put in. They did an exceptionally good job. The cost of Empire was higher but the quality was much better.

    ​I sent the sales rep a text. I had some questions or concerns about the installation after it was finished. But he didn't bother to respond, which I find insulting. Once it got installed, he knew he was gonna get paid, so he probably thought he didn’t have to respond. Empire also needs to improve their customer service because it’s in the toilet. They keep people on hold for long periods of time. When I called to ask some questions, the person couldn't answer them. I had a complaint about the installation beforehand and she couldn't address them. She just wasn't very helpful. But the quality of the luxury vinyl was excellent. I will recommend Empire because the installation was good.

    Our installation experience was not pleasant. There were two guys and one of them was weird. He just acted oddly and laid around on the floor. There is also one place where the seam wasn't done very well. But I like the carpet a lot.

    I had carpet installed in the two bedrooms and the living room, and the vinyl in the kitchen and dining room. I like the couple of young men that Empire Today sent to install it. They were quite knowledgeable. The young man was capable of doing the two bedrooms and the landing between the two bedrooms with no seams. He was incredibly smart and thinking way ahead as they went along. I watched him and said that this was going to be something to watch. He carried the carpet in in one chunk on his back because he rolled it up, and he was a little guy. He got underneath it and shook it up so he got it up high on his shoulders. He carried it right in there, set it down in the one bedroom, did the unfolding of it as he had it folded and it went right into the other bedroom. The quality was very good. I give Empire Today a thumbs up.
