The design, functionality and overall performance of the product is second to none. They have made the milestones that all other manufacturers attempt to imitate but never duplicate. I am always amazed at what they design next when it comes to vacuuming and other daily tasks.

My Dyson is the cordless model and the battery still gives me enough charge to do the floors and upholstery in my two bedroom condo. They're a bit pricey, but well worth the extra nickel. All of the attachments allow me to do just about all my cleaning chores. Plus, it's small enough to do the car carpets.

It is battery powered which I normally don't like but this has 30 min of run time which is more than I need. It has self cleaning brushes, it works like it's supposed to. This is by far the best portable vacuum. I'm satisfied with its performance.

The Animal is a dustbuster type battery powered vacuum with a long extension so that it can clean carpets and hard surface floors. In addition it can be used for cleaning furniture fabric with a rotating brush head. Very effective. The device has a housing that charges the battery. Note, the filters need cleaning as needed as they are quite fine and get blocked which causes hunting of the motor. A backup cleanable filter is recommended as well as an occasional wash of the metal screens. The device is easily disassembled for cleaning and maintenance.

On May 24 I bought a Dyson V8 Absolute. The first time I used it fluid leaked all over my hand and down the stick. A customer service rep offered to send me a part that never arrived. Customer service then agreed to a return of the vacuum and a refund of money. Returned the vacuum via UPS (their carrier) on July1. Called customer service about the refund July 16. They verified receipt on July 14, and promised refund within the week. Then I received email confirming their receipt and that they were checking that everything had arrived safely (like it was my responsibility and not their carrier UPS), and oh, by the way, it could take up to 30 days for them to issue the refund.
I contacted them again, but no one in the company has the authority to expedite the refund. Really??? I hope to eventually receive a refund but am not banking on it based on my experience. My conclusion: No quality control in manufacturing and no customer service. I will never buy another Dyson product and recommend any buyer to beware.

I bought a Dyson V7 absolute, wanting to replace a clunky and heavy corded vac for a cordless vac to use in a modest-sized apartment. It was easy to use and solid for almost 2 years and then the battery started flashing red and wouldn't charge. I emailed Dyson and because it was still covered under warranty for a few more days, they said they would honor it. However, due to the pandemic, the batteries were out of stock but once they were back, they'd be happy to send me one.
I emailed a month later, the battery's not in stock. Another 2 months pass, I reach out again, battery's still not in stock. 6 months pass and finally, one of my followup email yields the answer that huzzah, the batteries are finally back in stock! But by now, my warranty's expired and Dyson wants to charge me for a new one. I'm confused, I quote earlier emails, I state that the machine was under warranty when it failed but get the same canned answer that the warranty is now expired and if I want a new battery, I'll have to pay for it. I end up calling and after trying to navigate the phone tree that doesn't give an option for a live representative, the customer rep says they'll do send me the replacement battery for free this time but I'm miffed that he's acting like he's doing me a favor. The machine stopped working while under warranty; what else mattered?
Bottom line, I understand the pandemic affected everyone but trying to deny warranties after writing they would honor them and trying to have customers pay for things that were covered is a great way to lose customers. The time spent chasing for answers and the aggravation soured this company for me. This is definitely not the "hassle-free" warranty they tout on their website and I will not buy from them again.

I have had my cordless Dyson ($400) for about 2 years. You need to wash the filter often to keep it going. Picks up a good amount of dirt and cordless is nice. The plastic is on the cheap side; vacuum fell over once and cracked the handle. The most recent time I washed the filter it would not function. This is where it gets bad - Called 6 different customer service numbers to receive help which took about an hour. No live agents or option for live agent. The automated system automatically hangs up on you if you don't opt for text messaging. Even after accepting the text option I was disconnected.
Registered for the survey which states it will call back in 2 minutes - the call never comes. Emailed Dyson; Received an automated email to send a video to them. Emailed them again to explain at this point my complaint was with customer service. I finally gave up and called a local vacuum repair. When I told them this story he stated that he hears this about Dyson all the time. For the price difference I would prefer to go back to Shark; Works equally as well and costs 200 dollars less.

I purchased a Big Ball Vacuum Model CY-23 in December of 2019. After very light use, the cleaner head developed a problem: the spindle holding the brush bar sometimes gets stuck and will not rotate. I contacted Dyson and was originally informed that this item was covered by their warranty, but the part was not in stock. After many requests as to when Dyson would ship me the cleaner head, they mailed me sweet words and fluff and empty promises. I was informed some weeks later that the part was back in stock for my purchase. My questions as to warranty on this vacuum remained unanswered. It is obvious that Dyson will not honor the warranty. I will not be purchasing another Dyson product and would advise you to be careful when dealing with Dyson.

We bought a Dyson V11 Animal because we have a dog so we figure this would be our best option. We were happy with the vacuum but only worked for 1 year. We've submitted a warranty request 3 months ago, never could we get a live person all via emails and text diagnostic test. Dyson determined it was the battery, so they replaced the battery three times, and still the vacuum does not work. Three months later we are still waiting for a cyclone part that is apparently out of stock. They never follow up, I have to keep asking for the status. Three months later still out of stock meanwhile we have no vacuum. They need to just replace it, but for whatever reason they don't. The vacuum is still under warranty! So disappointed and dissatisfied with this product and the manner in which we have been treated. We paid $1,000 for this vacuum, you would think it would work after a year....

From day 1 my cordless Dyson and its battery didn't last more than 15 minutes at the most. I bought the cordless only to do my stairs without having to deal with my built in vacuum cord when going up and down. I couldn't possibly have ever used my Dyson to do my whole house; I put up with it because it was enough time to get my stairs done. Then literally at the 2 year mark the battery stops working all together. Considering I minimally used this vacuum over the 2 year period, it was unacceptable that the battery died so soon. I called customer service, spoke to someone for over a half hour, they seemed to be trying to help me and then put me on hold and hung up. I waited for a call back and none. I called back again and had to go through the whole story for the customer service rep to basically say it was too bad that I'm just over my 2 year period and he'd be happy to sell me another battery.
I asked to speak to a supervisor, was told that wasn't possible and a supervisor would call me back within 2 hours. No call back. Save your money and buy a Miele. My Miele was a bit cheaper and now over 5 years old and still works beautifully. Also not too heavy so I can easily do my stairs. The worse customer service! AWFUL....

I bought a cordless Dyson Vacuum in November. By February they had to replace all the parts and had me send my vacuum back. In those months each time I called Dyson I waited on the phone for at least 40 minutes, had rude persons (can’t call it customer service). I was given misinformation etc. Finally they sent me a new upgraded Dyson. Within one month it wasn’t charging. Had to make 4 phone calls. Waiting time total over 3 hours. Not to mention one person hung up on me. I explained it wasn’t charging but it wasn’t the charger. They insisted it was the charger.
Lo and behold they sent me a new charger and it’s still not charging. They call them the experts!!!! I now had to call again. They are sending me a plug and body frame which I don’t travel much faith that it will work. My point to all this is if they had trained employees this wouldn’t have happened. In 5 months I would say I have had 3 decent employees. I have their hair dryer which I love but this vacuum is a nightmare.

After just 8 months of fairly light use my Dyson V11 Torque vacuum has an electrical issue where the On/Off button is no longer working - When machine is on, it won't turn off, and when off it sometimes won't turn on. The issue started about 6 months after my purchased and now the button basically doesn't work at all. I have a TWO YEAR WARRANTY and after reached out to support and sending a video of the problem, this is their response: "The information provided does indicate that you will need replacement Main body and Cyclone for your machine. The replacement for your machine is currently out of stock and we do not have a date of when it will be back in stock."
Are you kidding me?? Their response is they have no idea when they can HONOR THEIR WARRANTY? This is utter ** - Do not buy a Dyson - They are cheaply made garbage and have terrible customer support and no warranty that they will stand behind. What a crap company. I recently purchased Dyson vacuum and it came with the wrong parts (2 of the tools were for the old version and did not fit). I contacted Dyson with detailed description and pictures for the issue. I have not heard them more than 2 days and then, they started ask questions one by one on daily basis. Each day replying a question and next day another comes. This lasted almost a week and they run out of questions and started asking same questions. I replied them as, "You already asked these questions and I replied. I am replying you again but please do not ask the same questions over and over again. Please refer to my previous emails before asking and you already have all my contact details, product details, where did I bought, when did I bought, etc."
Then the day after, I received a new email asking the same question for the product number again. This time I did not replied with the answer, instead asked them to refer my previous emails and give any person at administrative level to talk with. The ridiculous process I faced with customer services is absolutely unacceptable as it is like torture, time stealing, humiliating and much more. Even I stand with patience and replied questions one by one each day (they should have a form to ask all the questions and collect date they need) for their fault (as they did not include correct parts). This was the last drop.
I was thinking Dyson is a market leader with technology and innovation but it looks like they even do not have capability to collect data and track emails. Tens of years ago, companies had better data and bookkeeping with better customer relations. There is no doubt Dyson has a huge defect and incapability here and I would be happy to discuss this issue on managerial level to contribute and help Dyson since I have all recordings with the process.

Do not spend money on Dyson products. If your product does not perform as expected, which it should for the price point, beware. Customer service is unrelenting in their attempts to wear you down. I am on my 3rd exchange of their Dyson Pure Hot+Cool HP04. They refuse to allow a full return after this time they shipped me the wrong replacement item. Their claim is that it has been more than 30 days since my original purchase. That is true, because the first 2 machines did not work. While the exchanges take place, I have not had a machine in my home for anywhere near 30 or more days due to their quality issues. Yet, they refuse. So, I am stuck with exchanging again. I have a Dyson humidifier/fan PH01 that would not function correctly. Dyson support told me they did not have the part required to fix the problem so sent me a label to return the unit and they would send me a new one. Sounded like a reasonable solution. Unfortunately, my local UPS store does not box things and has no boxing materials. I live in a small town. There is a FedEx here that could do that but Dyson does not work with fedex.
I kept sending emails to Dyson support regarding the issues and always the same reply: Take to UPS, have them send back. Like they didn't even read my email. So I called. Suggested Dyson send an empty box to me which I could then place my unit into and send back via UPS. They said that wasn't possible. So I said I would buy a new unit and return the old one to them in the box the new unit arrived in, if they sent me an email guaranteeing they would refund me the cost of the new unit. This seemed to confuse them and also was not something they could do. So no accommodation and no resolution. I have a perfectly useless $800 humidifier.

In 2013, I brought to Dyson's attention that what the wrote about the filter was false and they did agree. I filed this with the BBB as well and I gave three remedies to settle this. Refund me my money, replace mine with a newer model that had both washable filters. I did not care as long as I was covered so they wanted to supply me with 4 new filters every year for the rest of my life and extend my warranty two years. Since then even though I had to call each year for the filters, this years they told me they no longer support this model or make the part they would send me.
I told them the only way to fix this was to give me a new machine since I could have got one during the original agreement but since Dyson has it so no matter what number you call, you get customer service or their supervisor and I have been told they will not give me a new machine. There is nothing in this agreement that says if they stop making a part or model it cancels our agreement. Some say they do not extend warranties, even though they did and in writing. Most tell me I had a five year warranty when the book says two years. I will say they require a good deal of maintenance and most parts are made cheap. I have had to replace the clutch a few times, the brush assembly, and other plastic parts that just break and they are expensive.
I guess I have to wait to see what they tell the BBB, but if they do not work with them, small claims court is an easy route as well. Do not believe what Dyson writes or says and best not deal with them at all. Providing me these for the rest of my life only means one thing and I am living and breathing. I have this in writing if you do not believe me. Dyson has gotten so big, they forget who supported them when they started. DO NOT BUY A DYSON PRODUCT.

Dyson has been downgraded per consumer reports “Consumer Reports is removing all Dyson models from its list of recommended stick vacuums because consumers can’t count on them to last. Survey data we posted recently reveals that Dyson stick vacuums develop problems or break at a higher rate than those of any other brand in our tests”. I will start by explaining that I am a Dyson product user. I have replaced most of the parts on my still fully functional Dyson 07, which my wife and I purchased in 2001. About a year ago, the 07 was making some peculiar noises. We decided that after 19 years we would purchase another Dyson. We bought a Dyson UP13, specifically a [TK3-US-MBA1940A] manufacture date, Feb 19. I will speak to two issues with the Dyson UP 13.
1) Stability of the unit while operating hose attachment.
And a more severe issue of,
2) The vacuum beater bar brush drive bearing, melting, and failure.
1) Unit stability issuesThe UP13 provides excellent and constant quality vacuuming. When using the hose attachment, the upper handle, suction hose, and cartridge seat tends to fall to the side, to the floor. If there is a wall where it falls, you'll get a scuff or a dent in the wall; if there is a Ming vase that it falls on, call you insurer. Also, please do not count on the UP13 remaining locked in its resting position when wheeling it from location to location. The model falls over all the time when using the hose attachments. On the other side, Dyson has some attachments that are effective for specific purposes.
2) The vacuum beater bar brush drive bearing, melting, and failure.
This issue is more serious. Description: Dyson Beater Bar assemblies connect to the central vacuum air intake at the Dyson Ball Vacuum's bottom front. The Bar Assembly is locked into place with a red plastic retaining clip. I am reporting about the beater bar drive bearing and its support housing. The Vacuum is a Dyson Up13 my family purchased about a year ago. After six months of use, the beater bar drive mechanism fouled with debris, froze, and melted. My investigation revealed that debris had wrapped on the drive spindles was pulled into bearing, and it's the support structure. An acrid burning smell preceded the drive failure. When disassembled, I could see that the whole lower unit needed replacement. Due to the COVID-19 availability of parts, I decided to purchase a full replacement for the failed beater bar assembly.
That unit arrived, and a month later, I had the beater bar assembly on my workbench, and I was unwrapping debris from the drive spindles. We did have some melting of the outward-facing bearing support surfaces; I sanded flat the melted surface, cleaned the bearings, and reassembled the module. The issue is caused by the infiltration and destructive attachment of vacuum debris onto the beater bar drive spindle, leading to the drive mechanism failing. Upon disassembly, we observed the bearing frozen, and the bearing support structure melted to the point of a drive failure. The disassembly is not an easy repair; the dirt should never have the chance of fouling the drive bearings or melting the drive bearing structure. We have had two units fail in the same manner.
If you smell an acrid smell while vacuuming with a UP13, turn your vacuum cleaner off immediately. If you experience a change in your vacuum's performance or operational sound, shut it down. I believe that if enough heat builds up in the drive mechanism, the Vacuum could combust, i.e., light on fire. The beater bar house assembly costs about $100 to replace. The replacement part is an expensive repair and certainly seems like a design failure to me. Hope this helps.

I have owned my V6 for 2 years now, and am on my 3rd battery. The battery simply doesn't last, and while Dyson has replaced it 2x now, once the original warranty on the vacuum expires, so does any warranty with any of the replacement batteries. My 3rd battery fell outside of the original vacuum warranty period, so I had to pay out of pocket for that battery. As a buyer of this product, I would have been better off buying a less expensive stick upright from Walmart, and replacing it as needed. I wouldn't experience downtime and in the long run it would still be less expensive. Until Dyson can solve their battery woes, I would recommend purchasing a competing product.

Anyways I email them and they tell me that they are sending a replacement charger, hmmm it’s the battery not the charger but no one to talk to.
I wait 2 weeks and get an email it’s shipped but no it gets better. I wait and wait to find out it was stuck at the processing center. So I email a nasty email that they don’t care about and said, "We will send another one," so a week later I get it and of course knowing it won’t fix it, I installed it and nope no dice don’t work. I wrote them again and now they say, "Ok we will send a new battery." Well that was 2 weeks ago and tracking said today and nothing is here. God I’m done with this company and please save your money.

The new one doesn't have a good head and its pretty poor. It's only good on hard for. Great auxin but didn't pick up. As for hair-no chance, I've never known a Dyson to leave hair and pet hair on the floor. But this one just skips on by. I guess you need to pay extra for a pet one. Yet every previous one has done the job. This is only good for hardwood floors. It's the big ball vacuum and I've wasted my money. Half my house is carpet and it's rubbish in carpet.

Please don’t get one of these. They only go 4 mins on maximum which is what you would generally need. They block ALL the time. And if that is not the cause of the problem it’ll be the filter. So you’re half way through vacuuming up and the filter needs cleaning so it stops the machine. You need to wash. It only takes 24 hrs to dry it. Let’s just leave the mess there then and wait for 24 hrs. That would be acceptable if I hadn’t paid 1400$NZ for it. Back to using the Centra vac. Amazing.

While the Dyson Ball Animal 2 vacuum has the best suction I've ever experienced, the attachments are not strong enough to handle it. In order to go from carpet to floor I have to attach the flathead to the hose. The hose is weak and compresses under the power of the vacuum. The stand up vacuum is constantly falling over so that I have to struggle to hold it upright while trying to keep the hose extended so that it will keep vacuuming. It is the hardest vacuum to use and therefore the worst I've ever owned. Unfortunately, I bought it with the intentions of gifting it and when I decided to keep it I was way past the return policy of COSTCO where I purchased it. I wish I could get my money back but will probably just dump it and get a Shark.

Called the company and after a good 45 minutes wait, and after they cleared up that I indeed plugged it in (being treated as an idiot didn’t feel so good) they concluded I need a new charger (I explained that it’s rather urgent to get since my old vacuum was not working anymore. I got it 10 days later, and the vacuum was still not working. I spend another hour on the phone with Dyson and this time they said I should return it for an exchange, and they would ship a new one the moment UPS is picking up my return (this was a pleasant experience even if it took a very long time).
Yesterday May 28, I decided that I can not wait any longer for a vacuum cleaner so I bought a new one, from a different brand. One hour wait to explain that I just want the money back from Dyson, I finally got to talk with an agent. Of course they had no record of them having to send a new one, and after another 30 minutes or so, the agent got the blessing to proceed with doing a refund for my vacuum that was already on the way. I asked that she sends me an email confirming the return and refund...and we got disconnected. Of course she could have called me back, she had my number, of course she could have send an email confirming the return and refund, but no such luck or service. They want me to spend another hour or two to deal with this. SO HORRIBLE CLIENT SERVICE! AND A PRODUCT THAT AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED WAS DEFECTIVE DAY ONE!

If you want a crappy product that costs tons of money and works so well that it will destroy your rugs, but then stop working appropriately, then get the Animal 2. In Australia they don't keep spare parts and you are forced to buy a much more expensive complete head assembly rather than a spare part for a fraction of the cost. Then you are forced dispose of the old unit which goes to landfill. Not good for the environment and costly for the retail customer.

Received a DC14 Full Kit as a gift years ago. I am the original and only owner. Product states “No filter replacement costs”. I wash the filter as directed and it has slowly been disintegrating. This time, the filter crumbled. Called Dyson and was forced to buy a new filter even though it’s supposedly a lifetime guarantee. Dyson would not stand behind it and offered me a discount instead. A discount is not a “No filter replacement costs”. There are no asterisks or caveats on this statement so it seems it is just plain FALSE. Owners should know there is no lifetime guarantee on the HEPA filter on these crazy expensive vacuums. Forget what the stickers on the product states - it’s a lie. Perhaps it’s on the tiny print in the owners manual that you can only read after you buy it and the most owners throw away. Still deceptive since lifetime guarantees on this and that are selling points they tout.

We have the V8 Animal cordless. This lightweight vacuum is very convenient and easy to use. It does a credible vacuuming job on both carpets and hard floors, especially on high power. But note that it will only run about 10 minutes on high. On regular it goes for at least 30 minutes - enough to do the entire house (upstairs and downstairs) plus the garage. Pretty impressive.
We had one serious problem in two years, a battery defect. Fortunately, Dyson cheerfully sent out a replacement, free of charge. The only less-than-ideal components are the accessory brushes. They don't pick up much and the one in the powerhead is losing some of its bristles (and its replacement is overly expensive). Deep cleaning the two filters is a bit of a chore, but at least they are washable (with tap water) so there's no extra cost of replacement filter bags. This needs to be done about every two or three months, so not too bad. Overall, the V8 is our go-to vacuum for most everything. We also have a Hoover upright that is more powerful, but it is heavy and clumsy. I pretty much only use it now to vacuum our exhaust vents and the refrigerator coils.

Literally. When I called Dyson they said that 5 minutes is correct when it is on “max” setting. However, mine only works for 5 minutes on regular setting. I was so surprised that Dyson made a machine to only work for such a small period of time. What is the point? I have 4 kids and need to vacuum for much longer than 5 minutes. I did return it but experienced the same thing with the second machine so it’s not a defect. Unless you live in a 3x3 closet, or only plan to vacuum 1/3 of a standard room, DO NOT buy this machine! To do so would be like putting $300 in the toilet.

We were given our Dyson Ball Multi Floor vacuum as a hand me down. The Cadillac of vacuums, in my less than knowledgeable opinion of any vacuum. As someone with back issues, I was hoping it would self propel itself and hover from tile to rug and back, effortlessly. Leaving nothing but like new, expensive looking thick carpet type lines behind me. I wouldn’t have to whiff the wretched burnt smell while one foot on the corner of an end of a throw rug in the kitchen, while my Dyson just knows... up and over... onto tile, keep going.
Then was my thought of the bag-less design. No remembering bag numbers, and changing them....Ugh. Since details make the difference.... First, stick to vacuums with bags. Because emptying that plastic canister outdoor (or even indoors, with a deep breath) exposes you to the dust and crud you just sucked up.

It empties easily, you just have to get used to where to place your hands, and also gets fine dirt, dog hair, etc. The only fault is likely that the swivel head takes adjusting to get it right and the clearance is not perfect but still better than my other canister that I still use for big projects on flat floor such as construction clean up.

The Dyson has different speeds which is nice when vacuuming cheaper carpets like bathroom rugs so they won't get sucked up. The Shark has only one speed. But with the Dyson, you must continuously hold the trigger while vacuuming. Don't care for that. With the Shark, you press one button to turn on and off.
When the Dyson battery goes, you must recharge it. When Shark's battery loses juice, you just pop in a fresh battery while the other charges. Love that. As for price, the Shark (on sale) was about $230 while the Dyson was around $600. We bought the Dyson to remove the pet hair, which was everywhere. I have the Dyson v6 model. It's several years old. I like a canister type as opposed to an upright, better to get into tight areas. This works fairly well on bare floors. The carpet attachment brush "stops" rotating when on carpet after several minutes. I have to lift the brush from the carpet and it begins to spin again. I do not know if this is the way it is designed. What I do not like about it is the power button is on the unit and not the handle. SO if one is 15 feet away from the unit one must walk back to it and turn it off. It would be more convenient to have it on the handle like my Kenmore.

On the Design end, on the 1-5 scale I'd give them a 7! Dealing with the Company is a pleasure. If there is anything other than superlatives to say, it's that they work SO well that ultrafine dust gets through all of their filtering and accumulates inside the baffles and getting this dust out, if you are so inclined, can be tricky. I love my Dyson canister vacuum. It has very strong suction and automatically self adjusts to the type of floor. It takes up very small space in the closet which is another plus. I enjoy the retractable plug also. My only dislike is that the canister doesn't hold much. So you have to keep an eye on the canister for when it reaches the fill line and empty it out which means stopping vacuuming and empty out the canister and returning and vacuuming more. With pets and living in a sandy area it does not take long to fill the canister so that is the downside of it. Other than that it is a great vacuum that swivels easily to get in tight spaces and has all sorts of attachments!

It has three power settings, economy, medium and boost and are switchable with a button push. In economy mode, the power is a bit better than a typical hand vac and a charge lasts 74 minutes. Medium is almost as strong as a corded vacuum and the charge lasts about 40 minutes. Boost mode is as strong or stronger than a corded floor vacuum and the charge lasts only 9 minutes. I used the Dyson mostly in medium mode and was able to clean dirt and long hair with no issue. I was also able to pick up gravel from a car floor easily.
The Dyson comes with 4 cleaning tools for different types of jobs and can be used with or without the extended stalk between the vacuum and the cleaning tools. The pieces attach securely with a satisfying click. Removing dirt from the vacuum is simple but more important, the canister is made in a way that causes the process to leave minimal dust. Very important for people like us with breathing issues.
It is easy to hold the vacuum as it weighs about 4 pounds and has a pistol grip. With the stalk, it is 42 inches from grip to bottom, depending on the cleaning tool used. It is a good length for floor cleaning. One negative is that the vacuum only stays on when the trigger is pulled. Another is that the weight can make it wearing to use for large areas. For those reasons I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. In general, I would not use this vacuum as my primary for a large home. It is great for a smaller apartment, spot jobs, stairs, inaccessible places and vehicles. It is also perfect to clean the places that a robotic vacuum could not reach.

We purchased a Dyson V7 Absolute for £440. After 2 years we had problems. It started working intermittently and could not be used on MAX power as it completely died within seconds. We contacted Dyson Customer service who said we needed to pay £79 for a new battery and £79 for an engineer to attend? £158 to have it made good after 2 years and that did not include any potential further new parts? I can't believe that having paid £440 I would be expected to pay this. I am going to buy a brand new shark vacuum cleaner £189 real value for money.

We agonised over which hoover to buy and finally settled on a Dyson..Big mistake. Nothing wrong with the customer service except for the fact that they are selling a sub standard product that performs like a £20 Chinese imitation. We have the V6, it's rarely used, we have no pets and no children but still it has to be stripped down every two weeks as the motor stutters due to dust. The roller gave up the ghost after 18 months, free replacement was sent and the problem was fixed but what if it had lasted another 7 months like the battery? You guessed it, a month or two after the guarantee ended the battery failed, time to buy a new one say dyson but the product doesn't even vacuum that well.
The thought of wasting another £70 on a new battery and then paying out when another part fails is just too much. Pretty poor performance, poor quality components, useless suction so hopeless as a handheld for the car...Dyson will never get another penny from me. Thinking of buying a Dyson? Don't bother, get a 'Shark'...at the very least you will get better performance and a 5 year parts guarantee.

Stay away from Dyson. I feel bad for recommending this company to my mom when she needed a new vacuum. It stopped working in less than one year; and they no longer stand behind their product like they used to. She called customer service and was referred to a local vacuum cleaner repair shop almost one month ago. It's still not fixed... As they are awaiting a part. She called Dyson customer service to inquire about the part, and spoke to a very rude prick who told her he had no idea when the part would be sent. I am going to bring my vacuum cleaner to her house so we can vacuum. I will never buy another Dyson and neither will she. They are just following a long list of other companies that used to be great... But are now unreliable and shoddy.

I've had issues since day 1 opening the canister. It is impossible to open, no matter how easy it may look and no matter what they tell you in the demo. I've done it for 3 years and had to finally throw it out. Before that, I called Dyson, and they sent a new canister. But it's not the canister, it's the opening mechanism. Now I'm in the market for another cordless and I doubt it will be Dyson. I was in Costco and it looked like they changed the design for the opening mechanism. Three years too late for me. I am so disappointed in Dyson. A company that prides itself on quality, should have a longer warranty than 2 years. BTW, Dyson offered a 20% discount if I wanted to purchase a new one. There are much better deals in Costco when they run specials, like they are this week.

Appalling short battery life, takes forever to charge and hardly completes one room. Tiny little collection tank. Really wish I hadn’t wasted so much money on this rubbish!!! With a builder partner and a shedding dog I thought this would be a great buy but have been left seriously disappointed.

I only used the brand new Dyson V7 Allergy for a few times and DID NOT do the job at all! I called customer support and they send me to our local service center to find out that I lost the warranty because I used the Dyson in my restaurant! This brand new Dyson was not made for business, ONLY for home. Lol! I found this statement poor and totally unfair for the price of the product!!! If DYSON believes in their product quality should support the customer...especially when the vacuum is only a few weeks new. Sorry, Dyson...but I was expecting you to take some more responsibility!

My 3rd Dyson took a crap today. What is with Dyson? Poor customer service, high priced and lots of plastic parts that break easily. The V11 works fabulous when it does work. I am beyond frustrated now that I have to go through the entire customer service return experience. AGAIN Only to have to wait weeks for the replacement to come. I am confident Dyson is well aware of the issues with the trigger ceasing to engage. Yet, they are still selling these. I am hoping for an upgrade to the new machine. Wish me luck!

I will update this review when my situation resolves. But, long story short, Dyson still has not shipped me a replacement vacuum 16 days after receiving a non-functional one from Amazon despite prompt communication with Dyson on my part. Seems that my issue keeps falling through the cracks on their end. This is unacceptable customer service for such an expensive, high-end item.
A summary of my timeline: January 2 - received Dyson vacuum from Amazon with a bad battery. I filled out online warranty request to a replacement battery. January 3 - Dyson email asking for proof of purchase before handling the warranty claim. January 4 - Sent email to Dyson with proof of purchase. January 5 - Response from Dyson that they were able to verify the purchase and the warranty is now active. I presumed this would kick off shipment of my new battery and no further input from my part was needed. January 9th - Email to Dyson inquiring about status of new battery. Receive response that the I need to ship the entire vacuum back. Presumably Dyson was ignoring my situation until this reminder email.
January 10th - Email confirmation from Dyson acknowledging that I shipped the vacuum back and indicating that my replacement is processing. Confirmation from UPS with tracking number indicating that I should receive my delivery on Jan 16th. January 18th- I check status of shipment via UPS tracking number, and it indicates that the package has not yet been provided to UPS. January 25th (today) - A few more emails with Dyson, but their response has been essentially "we'll ship it when we can." Who knows if/when I will get the replacement vacuum. Very disappointing response from a company. By the way, this review got rejected when I tried to post on Amazon even though it is completely compliant with Amazon's policies. Very fishy to me.

Please don't buy a Dyson product, bought an air purifier, not a cheap 1 a 600.00 plus one, right out of the box it did not work, Called support. Could not do anything. They sent me a return label, no empathy that it was a Xmas present, I did my part. Rushed it to UPS store. Few days later got confirmation they received the return. It's 45 days later and I'm still waiting on refund. Called today and they turned it all on me to supply a tracking # when they had already sent me a received e-mail back. Don't know when and if I will ever get my refund but the lady in customer service made it very clear "I'm just an employee" so be it. I WILL NEVER EVER OWN ANOTHER HIGH PRICED DYSON PRODUCT....all my friends and family will be warned also....terrible customer service totally...
