We bought Dyson 360 NAV??? at the end of December 2025. At the end of January 2026 it was having a hard time finding the recharge port so we followed the instructions in the Dyson app to do another mapping of the house but it showed on the app it failed. We tried a few times but came up with the "failed "again. I called customer service and after some frustration I asked for a replacement and was emailed a shipping ground label for UPS. I took it to the UPS store and they said they couldn't take it because of the battery in it and they needed a 2 day air label. I came back and called Dyson customer service and was told according to the tech his manager said he wasn't giving me an air label because UPS had no right to decline the shipping.
I told the tech to tell his supervisor, I was 70yrs old, paid $500.00 dollars and UPS can deny any shipping to anyone and that Dyson doesn't own UPS and "you're screwing me a senior citizen out of 500 bucks" and asked for his name, it was Daniel and wouldn't give me anymore information, no employee number, last name nothing else but just Daniel so I said that, "I'm going to file a complaint with the BBB and talk to my lawyer and let my credit card company deal with my robbery of a senior citizen from you and Dyson." I told him that they shipped this product to me via 2 day air because I live in Hawaii and there is no UPS Ground 2000 miles in the middle of the ocean! I got a 2 day air label but it took 20 minutes because this supervisor was dumber than a bag of hammers.

I received a Dyson v9 vacuum for Christmas. When I first tried it, it turned out it’s a “trigger” vacuum, which means you CONSTANTLY have to hold your finger on the power button. I cannot return it since 30 days passed after it was purchased. Money out the window, since it can be only used for small, quick jobs. Maybe like vacuuming your car. It was way too expensive for that.

I had a Dyson for many years and it broke. I called customer service. I was getting the new Dyson V 12 slim and it was on sale. I told the girls going to talk to my husband. She did not tell me it was going off sale the next day, they will not honor the sale price. I will never buy another Dyson again. That is ridiculous of how much money they charge for a vacuum and they won’t honor the sale price for one day. That's crazy.

I absolutely LOVED it.... Until I had it for about two months if that. It was probably a month and it broke. We brought a Dyson V11 and it was amazing. But once it broke on us within a month of using it, our love for it turned into a "OMG are you SERIOUS!!!" It was technically still new!!! I DO NOT recommend getting it. Save your money and buy something else that's not trash.

Dyson USED to have outstanding customer service but not anymore. Representatives are hard to understand and lack knowledge. For the price of the product Dyson needs to step up the customer service. Products don’t last any longer than their less expensive competitors (shark).

In my opinion the newer versions are not made to last. Years ago we bought one and we had it at least 10 years. No broken parts. I’ve gone through 2 of the newer ones in less than 34 years. Prices are unfair for such a low quality item. Cheap plastic breaks all the time. Fortunately we bought the extended warranty through BestBuy but it’s ridiculous to have to keep going back to return it and get another one that will do the same thing every 2 years. I get that the company needs to make money but this is so frustrating!

We purchased a Dyson cordless vacuum. The vacuum did not always charge when placed on the charging dock. I called Dyson and was told to get warranty service I would first have to go through myjustanswer.com and there would get charged a fee that would be refunded. I was charged $65 which 3 weeks later I can not get anyone at Dyson to even discuss the charges much less refund my money. After 3 different chats I finally got Dyson to agree to replace the dock. Based on my experience I would warn customer to be aware of their service.

I want to first point out that Dyson puts cherry picked reviews on their site. Look for a way to submit a review or ask their exceptionally unintelligent chat bot how to submit a review - I dare you. This review is specifically for the vis nav 360 robot. It's a powerful vaccum with a good brush head. I like the way the bin detaches and that the robot has a grab-handle. It's a little loud, but tolerable for the power it provides. It has horrendous object avoidance, poor navigation in tight spots, and cries out for help constantly. It's on board screen is super slow. When it gets stuck and you go to help it you have to wait for a full boot up cycle to occur before you can do anything. Who wants to boot up a vacuum?! I don't need a screen. Give me buttons that just work! I guess I wouldn't be so upset about this if I didn't need to do it with 90% of the clean cycles that I run because the robot is so unintelligent.

I was so happy when I received one as a Christmas gift. The suction was amazing and easy to use on stairs and carry with a bad back. The first time I had to dump it my happiness was gone. Opening it was easy enough but reassemble was not (and yes I followed the instructions). Just line it up and push till you hear a click? After multiple words not used in polite society, tears and even threatening it I finally got it together. Never once has it been easy. I dread it every time. Then it started pulsing off and on after 9 months. Clean both filters. Check. Check for obstruction. Check. Reset the battery. Check. And that's another thing.
Whoever heard of resetting a battery? I had to pull up a video to even know that that's a thing. And another video to make sure I was reassembling it correctly. Never have I had to watch one, let alone two videos to use a vacuum. To conclude, it sucks and it SUCKS. Do not purchase unless you enjoy weekly temper tantrums.

It's really quite bad. Only way to talk with them about an issue is chat - and they can not provide any real information - only canned responses. I sent my Dyson WashG1 for repair on October 30 and have tried to follow up with the repair depot in Calgary multiple times - they can only say that it is still within the 4 week repair window - but other than that, they have no idea where my Dyson WashG1 is, or if it's even being worked on.

Even though the vacuum worked fine when it was working, their customer support and warranty were so bad that it's comical. I've called over 10x with extremely different experience levels on the phone, 1 time sadly the poor worker's English was so bad we couldn't understand each other, another time they sent me the wrong part, another time they sent me the wrong shipping slip, and in the end they made ME pay for the part, and they can't even figure out which video to send me to show me how to repair it. I also had to bring the vacuum to a local repair shop and pay them to find out what as wrong with it. And apparently if the problem is with the hose, they won't fix it and make you pay for it. I will never buy a Dyson again, because they're too expensive to have a fake warranty.

I purchased a Dyson Gen5 Outsize Absolute directly from Dyson at the end of July 2025 for over $1,300. Within about two months, the motorhead stopped working completely. I contacted Dyson immediately and followed all warranty steps, including sending in the faulty vacuum. It’s now November, and I’ve been without a working vacuum for nearly two months. I’ve contacted Dyson over 10 times through chat and phone. Their representatives are polite but give pre-generated responses that are super patronizing, with no clear solution or timeline.
Since my claim began, the Gen5 Outsize has come back in stock twice, yet it goes out of stock again before I receive a replacement. Dyson will not automatically send one when available. Instead, they tell me to wait for an email, then contact them again, with no guaranteed timeframe. They have also admitted that new customers are prioritized over existing ones with defective units, which is unfair. I was offered a different model with poor reviews, which I declined.
To make things worse, the upholstery cleaner’s felt brush peeled halfway off the first time I used it, showing poor build quality. A vacuum should not fail within two months, and Dyson should not refuse a refund when a premium product clearly doesn’t hold up. Dyson advertises a “15-day turnaround,” but that isn’t true. Their 30-day refund policy leaves customers stranded when a product fails soon after that period. I spent over $1,300, used it briefly, and now have no vacuum or refund options. I simply want a refund so I can repurchase the same model from Walmart.ca or Best Buy, where it’s currently in stock and available immediately—or an immediate replacement of the same model I originally purchased.
Desired Resolution: Full refund, or Immediate replacement of the Dyson Gen5 Outsize Absolute.

Submitted exchange March 26, 2025, followed up on the phone over a dozen times in months that followed. My Dyson V11 handheld vacuum head broke and Dyson asked me to send my whole machine (motor body that was working fine and the broken head attachment) so they send me an exchange. I had Dyson V11 machines. I sent the motor body, along with the broken head (turns out the functioning motor body I sent was not the one they noted down they were expecting - different serial number - but otherwise the same machine, model, nor actually broken or needed for exchange). I did send them the broken part - the head. My mistake for sending the wrong motor body serial number to what they wrote down. They then refused to send me a replacement because I sent them the 'wrong' motor body (which was working). They also have not returned my 'wrongly sent' machine, effectively stealing my machine worth $629.99.
I have called many times, was told the return of my machine has to be approved by 'another department' who never replied to the customer service team or me. Every time I called they said they followed up with the team who will reply within a few days - they never did. I also had one of their customer service managers 'Ricardo' yell at me and hang up, telling me I did not purchase the broken machine from them (that I was lying) - he then called me back and said he found my original order in the legacy system they have since retired and migrated to a new one. Went through BB Bureau who facilitated an exchange of two messages of Dyson and closed the case - Dyson said "We’re unable to return items that have been sent to Dyson. For more information, please review our official policy at the provided link, which explains this in detail."

Yet another big-name brand putting profit over people. I purchased a Dyson vacuum from Costco believing it was a smart, protected buy. For nearly $500, you’d expect quality and longevity — not a battery failure just after the two-year warranty expired. As a United States Marine (medically retired) living alone, this vacuum saw very light use. Its early failure clearly points to poor quality control or deliberate design to fail once the warranty runs out. When I contacted Dyson, I reached an outsourced call center that offered no real help — just 20% off a new $120 battery. It feels like Dyson offloads subpar units through Costco, cashes in, and leaves customers stranded. Once a trusted name, Dyson now seems more focused on short-term profits than long-term trust. Think twice before buying — your hard-earned money deserves better.

My Dyson TP02 failed after 2½ years due to charred wiring. Dyson agreed to replace it, but the “new” TP07 arrived in a crushed, single-layer box that looked dragged across a warehouse. The unit had scuffs, a marked power cord, and particles sealed inside the display screen—dirt trapped beneath the lens of a supposed air purifier.
That’s not new. That’s a repackaged return. I’ve spent over 12 hours chatting and calling with Dyson, with no supervisor, no accountability, and no resolution. An earlier replacement was even recalled mid-transit after reaching New Jersey because of a “system glitch.” Dyson markets itself as a premium brand, but acts like it expects its reputation to outlast customer patience. I’ve filed a BBB complaint because this has been exhausting, insulting, and completely out of line for a $600 product claiming “engineering integrity.” If you’re considering Dyson, beware: the product design might look impressive—but the company’s support isn’t.

I was gifted a big, ball total clean canister vacuum. It works well on bare floor, but very hard to use on carpets. It suck so hard that it’s hard to move back and forth. It would have been a good choice to have a power nozzle brush head, not the complete suction cup. What a waste for 800$. I would fire the engineer who designed this vacuum without a power head.
Some dumb engineer must have given a thought that self-powered brush help lifting the debris rather than plain sucking it. Perhaps the engineer was thinking of his boss that how to keep his job by sucking rather than using brain. These Dyson canister vacuums are super labour-intensive and hard on your shoulders. Non-motorized heads should be left to stick vacuums not the other vacuums. If you’re over 55, then please do something else with power head. You’re just been warned, otherwise you will be cursing a lot while using these canisters. Hope Dyson changes this suction cup with more user-friendly vacuum head, hopefully with self-powered brush heads.

I told them I thought they had to honor an advertised price. They said it was a mistake so they didn't have to honor it. According to Dyson, all orders for that price had been cancelled. She said I was welcome to order the vacuum for the price that now shows on the website. Classic bait and switch. Dyson should legally have to honor the deal. Unacceptable!

I bought a Dyson VisNav in September of 2025. Now I go online and see that Dyson has not released any firmware updates since April of 2024. This robot vacuum is so slow, has navigation issues. During mapping it just kept spinning around like it's lost. It takes forever to go to a room to clean, it's always taking too long to think about what to do. The navigation and room cleaning is just too long and very bad. It gets stuck on chair legs and random thing, it just goes and bumps into things like a first version of Roomba.
For their 4th attempt at a robot vacuum this is pretty bad and embarrassing for Dyson brand. I hope they bring out a new software update to make the navigation better and room cleaning faster otherwise this would be a perfect product. Also the Dyson app needs a lot of work, it should allow you to see where the robot is on the map and show battery percentage on the app and add new features.

I bought a Dyson Outsize Absolute in May 2023 ($799). In Nov 2024 Dyson performed a warranty repair by replacing the main body due to shut-offs during use. Within nine months, the exact same defect came back: intermittent power loss and shut-offs. Support confirmed the same component would need replacement again but refused a no-charge repair, arguing the warranty had “matured,” and offered a ~$400 paid replacement. In other words, the original warranty repair did not fix the defect, and Dyson is shifting the cost to the customer. I’m asking Dyson to stand behind its repair and provide a no-charge repair or a full replacement, or a refund of the purchase price. I will update this review if the company resolves the matter fairly.

Dyson is an absolutely atrocious company to deal with, with horrible customer service, their service center is deplorable and they don't return all of your vacuum cleaners parts. I have emailed them multiple times with no response. The design of the vacuum cleaner is grossly flawed (I'm an engineer). About a couple of inches into the vacuum, hair... will clog the intake and the machine will gasp for air, significantly reducing the battery vacuum time which makes your battery very hot. If you look inside the vacuum cleaner the intake doesn't flow the debris into the catch basin which I believe causes the jamming. You then have to clear the debris with your fingers or tweezers.
The vacuum cleaner also jams where the vacuum head meets the tube at the bottom of the vacuum cleaner. They advertise that their vacuum cleaner can be emptied by just opening the cannister which my Dyson won't do. It also clogs and you have to clear it with your hand. Don't repeatedly use your Dyson on Max as the battery gets incredibly hot which will significantly shorten your battery life. My vacuum has trouble picking up for example peanuts which you would think would be easy for a vacuum cleaner that's very expensive. My vacuum also squeals especially when you clean under your kitchen cabinets.
Their customer service is a bunch of non caring foreigners who repeatedly cut and paste responses but don't do a thing to resolve your issues. When you ask for a supervisor, they will tell you that they will be in touch in a few days but in asking for one on many occasions I was only left one voicemail with no phone number to call.
For what you pay for a Dyson you can buy several vacuum cleaners, have money left over and not have the potential of getting stuck with garbage that they will do nothing about. Please read multiple sites like the Better Business Bureau, Trustpilot and Reddit to see the hundreds of poor reviews and problems on Dyson before you buy one. Please note that a lot of people won't leave reviews on awful companies like some of my friends who had an awful experience with Dyson.

These vacuums are overpriced pieces of garbage. They constantly get clogged, they have terrible suction, unless you put it on high suction, then the battery dies after three rooms. For $700 you’d figure the battery would last for the whole house…it doesn’t. Go with a Shark. Far superior quality and functionality.

I wanted to share my situation as the more I look into solutions I see that my experience with Dyson is common. I had bought a Dyson Submarine 15 1.5 years ago with the 2 year warranty. I have not had any issues until this month where it just turned off. No obstructions, battery depletion warning, just turned off. I waited almost 1.5 hours on the Dyson chat getting transferred over 4 times and then I was disconnected. I called and the representative put my on hold without informing me. I was on hold for approx 15 min. She did not provide me with the location or rep id.
I called back and was told that the battery was the first thing that was required to start the process. It has been out of stock (1st solution so everyone is probably waiting on their battery). I was offered a refurbished item but it doesn't show anywhere that the warranty changed. In fact the warranty states new product in within the warranty period. Terrible Customer service and does not back the warranty process any longer. I wonder if it's because the head office has moved?

My issue seems minor compared with the other people leaving reviews. But I’m going to mention it because of the underhanded way Dyson conducts business. Was in the middle of replacement battery purchase for my V11. A banner appears across the top of my screen(I have a screenshot of it), “Save 10% on your next purchase when you sign up for texts from Dyson.” I sign up and redeem the discount. When purchase goes through, 10% discount is missing. Called support and was told the discount is only for new vacuums.
I explained that’s not what the banner said…it just says next purchase. Support says there is nothing they can do. I told them to delete my info because I don’t want texts if I’m not getting my 10%. Support says they can’t do that either. So I accessed my account and changed my name to Unhappy Customer, along with a bogus phone number and email. I can’t stand slimy business practices. Little things like this really sour the purchasing public on looking favorably on a large corporation. Dyson…do better!

Please please don’t buy from Dyson. They are scammers who had me send my unit so they can replace it because it was heating up and not working properly. I sent my unit to them and it’s been 3 weeks. I waited for my replacement unit or an email to confirm they sent me my replacement only for them to tell me that the unit they received doesn’t match the serial and they won’t send me a new (or send me my unit back). I asked to speak to a manager and he admitted they have issues in their warehouse. It has been one month and no vacuum. They literally stole my vacuum and refuse to send me a new one. No one has answered and the entire customer service is in India. They have zero clue what is going on in the warehouse. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I recently purchased a reconditioned Dyson vacuum from the Dyson website. Still very pricey. Dyson claims are that their reconditioned vacuums are not used, but are instead return items that pass rigorous testing before purchase. When the vacuum finally arrived (took 2 weeks) it arrived with 100% dead/depleted battery. The replacement battery which customer service ordered a week ago now, has not been shipped yet. I was also put on endless holds by customer service reps who did not know how to answer direct questions about the product I purchased or why the battery would arrive depleted/dead.

I have a gen 5 detect. One of the guide wheels on the carpet attachment has broken off for the second time. It is a design flaw, as the piece holding the wheel in place is far too small. I cannot glue it a second time. Dyson support was pretentious, stating at first that wear and tear is not covered under the warranty. After hearing this, I simply hung up the phone. Five minutes later I get a call stating that "for this one time only, we'll make an exception and provide the part". After waiting 5+ minutes, the representative came back on the call to state that they are experiencing technical difficulties (good timing??), and that I should call back later. This is a common strategy used by many call centres to discourage customers as most people don't have the time and/or patience to call again.
