We wanted to get closets designed and installed downstairs, and we wanted something more professionally done that would last longer. We had another company come in and they were way cheaper than Closet World but we went with Closet World because we liked the girl who came in here and helped design everything. She was very nice and extremely helpful. But there were some details that weren’t brought to our attention and these were details that one doesn’t really think about until stuff gets installed, like moving electrical fixtures and blinds. These things were in my office the whole time but we didn't go over them and being a first-time user, there was no way we would have known.
They came to install and when they set up, the installer said they could install but they would block all of the outlets. I needed to get someone else here because they couldn't install anything until those were moved. We had to call five different companies to see if someone could come in at 5:00 am the next day before Closet World's installers came back. And then we had to get someone into the office to open for them. That whole deal with the outlet was a big issue and the electrical work ended up costing us a fortune.
They didn’t talk to me about the blinds either. I also have these custom blinds in my office that are now sitting on top of my desk because they can no longer go all the way down. That was something that wasn't explained. I should’ve paid more attention to the depths of shelves too. It’s a custom unit and I can’t fit a regular folder in there. I have to lay it out weird. These were just minor details and these things aside, the installation and the design were great. The crew was efficient and fast too.

I'd used Closet World before and they were professional, they did a fabulous job and everything was absolutely perfect. However, my most recent experience was not very good. I did an entire wall unit with the closet and the interaction in the very beginning was great. During the installation, they had one person. It was a large job, but that's how they work. I paid 50% upfront, and then the first 5-minutes they were there, they wanted the rest of the 50%. I said I would like to pay when the job was done, and they said that once they dropped the product, they had to be paid. I talked to the dispatcher, Andrew, and I said I needed to be assured that this job could be done in two days. He said, "You have my word."
Friday the installer came back and he was three hours late. He had told us he was going to be there at 9:30, but he got there at 12:30 and at that point, he told us that he was sent to another job before he came to us. But then, they go to put the drawers in and the drawers didn't fit, so he said he was going to come back Monday. We all work, so I was taking off the time. But Monday comes around, I got a call and the installer was sick. So, I waited around on Tuesday, he came back in and finished the job. I looked at the very top of my molding and there was a big crack. They didn’t cut it correctly.
Today is Thursday and I tried to coordinate with Andrew about times to get together, and I didn't call him back in time as he was booked for other things today. According to him, he was going to have it completed in two days. That was the 24th and 25th of January and now I'm at February 8th. I can't continue to wait around all the time. I told Scott, the sales guy, about the big crack 10 days ago, and he said he was going to get with his boss and talk to him about it. I don't even hear from him anymore, so it's not very good follow-up. I've given them plenty of times to make it right. At this point, I'd never use Closet World again.

My parents had got something installed by Closet World probably like 15 years ago. I had some drawers, some shelving, and some like to hang your clothes in one room. The designer was good. She came in and she was really super nice. I told her what I thought, and then she explained how it really would not work and then what she was saying made more sense. Then, she came up with a good design with me. She wasn’t pushy or anything. The installation team came in and did what they had to do. they were friendly, but we just let them work and it went well. That I highly recommend getting closet done by them. I didn’t have anything else, but I'm sure everything else is just as good.

Closet World had done some work about three years ago and I had them add on some shelves to it. They already had all my stuff on file, so they knew what they had to do. The installer was fine. He measured, cut it and put it in. It was easy and everything was good.

I had Closet World install a master bedroom closet and some garage cabinets. The interaction with the designer was great. When we first did the job with the designer we told her that if she could better the installation date that it would help us out, and she did. She was able to do that within a day or two. They called me back and they confirmed an earlier install date. The person showed up on the earlier install date, but he only brought half of the material. And it was almost a month and a half before they came back to finish. The original install date was December 18 and they didn’t make it back till middle of January.
The person that I was dealing with for scheduling handled it very poorly. He could’ve made some adjustments. He could’ve got me finished, but he had other pressures from other places, and I had to sit in the back seat. I shouldn’t have paid them upfront. I should’ve waited till the installation was complete. There were some parts from the order that were missing, and then I had ordered some additional parts. If they would’ve finished the installation when they started it, it would’ve made a hell of a lot more sense and they probably would’ve made some money on the deal, instead of driving out there three different times. I’m happy with it in the end, but it was a rough road getting there.

I ordered a bookcase from Closet World in December and then they promised me to complete it by the 5th of the January. I relied on that completion day and then signed the contract. They have visited my home about four times already but still have not finished. They would call me to stay home. They scheduled the green light. I have to be absent from work waiting for the installation. So it bothers me. I never experienced this kind of customer service before. The worst experience I ever had. I even complained to the Better Business Bureau. The designer talked to them and recorded it. They never return my call or return my text after they got my order. Don’t even deal with this company. This company’s damned.

I have two en suites in my house and I both had them done so that I have the biggest closets. One bedroom was too small for a big dresser so I had two drawers put in. They were double-hung drawers, and next to that were shelves and then double-hung closet rods, and shelves on the other side of that. The designer knew what she was doing. I told her what I wanted and that's what I got. I told her my biggest wish was to have all of my clothes available and I want to be able to walk in and look at all of them. And she understood what I was explaining. Before the installers came, I did what they asked me to do and made sure everything was down and patched. They knew what they were doing and the installation went very well. I'm very pleased with what I got, and I've recommended Closet World to other people.

I tried California Closets and the quality is about the same with Closet World but Closet World's price was a lot lower. We got a closet which was about 12 feet wide altogether and the drawers and the hanger for hanging the suits and dresses. It had the soft clothing drawers which were nice. The designer, Cynthia, was helpful and gave me some advice on other ways of setting up the interior design of my condo here. And the installers, Rico and his assistant Manuel were very polite and very efficient. They did a very nice job and it was quick. It was a very convenient and a nice upgrade of our closet.

I had Closet World install a closet in my garage and I liked the guy that came to the house. The installation went fine. We got something done that I needed to get done and I’m happy with the workmanship. I had my concerns about them, but it's all been corrected now and we’re good.

I felt that Closet World was a trusted name and I had them do a closet in my bedroom. I liked the closets that they completed in my room but as far as the service, it's bad. They haven't finished in my kids' room because the designer messed up pretty badly. When the installers came to build, they tore out my organizers then put their own in. I don’t think the designer understood what was supposed to be done. They did the bedroom right and they should have gotten them all the same in the other room. I was very disappointed and they have to come back out.
It's been three weeks now and my closets are torn apart in my kids' room. And they didn't call me and keep me informed about when they're going to come. I had to call them. And the designer was very rude when I called her and let her know what I wanted. My husband took pictures and I told her, "Is this what it's supposed to be? You ripped out closet doors and left it open but I already had organizations. Why would you think that I would want to pay $2,000 for ones I already have?"
They're coming back to build it out, finish it with the drawers and the full clothes cabinet. But their scheduling department when I talked with them, they think it was an inconvenience for them but they were the ones who got it wrong. They still haven't called to let me know if they're really coming on Friday or what time. I'll have to call them for that.

I originally had Ikea. But then because I saw the sales thing I thought I would at least get an estimate with Closet World and see how it compared to Ikea. Closet World cost more but I like the fact that it’s going to be done in one day and it would save me so much time over Ikea so I had a walk-in closet installed with them. The Closet World designer came on time. She designed it so fine. The couple of issues that I had was I wanted this done by a certain date and they didn’t get it done on the time that I asked them to get it done. So that was hard.
But the installation guy was good. They came and the installation was done in one day which is fine. They ripped up the base part and there’s some marks on the wall but it’s okay. I can deal with that. I was supposed to get extra shelves and I guess the designer didn’t instruct the installer or something. So I didn’t get the extra shelves. They had to come back and deliver the extra shelves. And they did, which is fine, but then because she mis-measured a couple of them were the wrong size. So I had to go back and say, “These are the wrong size.” So the guy had to come back again. I was annoyed that it wasn’t done on time and then there’s numerous follow-ups. But otherwise I think their quality is good.

We had put in a closet in our house and we were trying to figure out the best way to set it up. We had no idea and we saw an ad on what Closet World offers. They’ve also been around for a long time. What I really liked was the fact that the representatives were very professional and they came when they said they were going to be here. We didn’t have to sit around and wait all day.
But when they were going to call back to set up the time. They actually called just to confirm that we were going to make the appointment and then they said they were going to call back again to give us the time. I waited for them to call me back but they didn’t call. I called the office and the rep said that they would call me back between three and five. But that process was unnecessary. I was already on the phone with them. It would have been effective to just say what time would be good. They should do one phone call to confirm that you’re setting up an appointment and do everything a one time. That would be better as opposed to three calls.
The designer was awesome though. She came in and measured the whole closet. She gave us a couple of ideas and we tweaked them a little bit. She was very responsive when we told her like what our needs were. She really took the time to listen and she made sure that our needs were going to be met, in terms of the amount of shoes and clothes we had and what kind of storage we were looking for in the closet. Then she came up with a good design that my husband and I were both happy with.
We had some shelving put in, as well as some drawers and upper and lower hanging rods, for our walk-in closet in the master bedroom. The installer was good and very efficient. He worked relatively quickly too. Within a couple of hours, everything was done and the closet looks amazing. The quality is nice too. We’re really happy with the way that it turned out. The overall experience was awesome and I have recommended them to my mother-in-law and my sister.

The installer was polite, efficient and fast too. They completed the job the first time with no mistakes, and they are really professional when it comes to calling and scheduling. Closet World was running a half-price sale. I had them install a bottom of the line melamine shelving in my clothes closet. Closet World's designer was wonderful. I still haven’t received the final shelves from them that they were supposed to send me and it’s been more than a month. I have contacted them twice and then I got too much busy with my work. And when I get free after office hours they’re gone. But overall it was a good experience. I would recommend it. The professionalism is what I liked.

One of my siblings had some work done with Closet World a few years back. They've always been an option for me and since I wanted the job done so fast, they were the first person I reached out to. The designer was okay. She let me know right off the bat what Closet World do and don’t do, but I didn’t really know what I was getting into. On the other hand, I did not get the installation date that I wanted to even though they guaranteed that they have same day installation. They had the two-week installation pushed out after the account was paid off and I paid within three weeks of estimate and the measurements were taken. I couldn't get my appointment until a month after.
Even though we did sign a contract, I was contemplating whether I wanted my closets to be a color, and it was going to be between white and dark gray because that's the color of my room. And, three weeks prior to the installation, I want to change it back to white because it's $56 more to get the paint. And they said that I couldn't change it even though as part of the payment, there's going to be any changes to this account. And I let them about it but they wouldn't let me. So, that was a problem after that. I had to hire someone else to gut the closet because I was under the impression that that's what Closet World does. They take out the original closet and replaced it but I had to hire someone else and spend more money on top of what I already spent to buy the closet to take the original closet out.
That was discussed initially and I didn’t have a problem with that part of it because the shelves of my closet had to come out to extend it. What I wasn’t fine with was after the closet was installed, which was almost $200, it's like the standee. It's not even a full closet. There's no bottom and there's no side. The only thing that we discussed was there was going to be no backing. So, I understood that. I had to put wallpaper or paint to it but there were no sides. The measurements were really weird after the fact. I had a guarantee from the person who did my measurements and the estimates that I was going to be able to fit all of the things that were in my original closet into the new closet. The storage wasn’t as good as it was. The closet that I had before was called a Pasadena style closet. So, I have storage at the top and once that closet was out, there was no more storage.
I had to rely on the new closet space and I had only 12 inches of room, of shelving. I was already set back from that and so the last few weeks, we've just been going back and forth about that. There's no bottom. The carpet from the original closet is still showing which is unacceptable because that was one of the problems. But when I put a whole new closet in and I wouldn't have to worry about it. My experience with Closet World wasn’t that good because my closet is still not the way it's supposed to be done. I only got a closet installed for my bedroom in the house and if that went well, I was going to get some other work done but I won't be doing that now.

The quality of their product is extremely well. The installation was done extremely sloppy. Everything is horrible about it. They’re actually coming to fix it and I don’t like them at all. Also, I didn’t have a good experience with the designer. Her layouts was not very useful. The supervisor came out because of my complaint and he changed up her design, and he’s going to be redoing two of the closets. He’s been great and he’s had some wonderful follow up. He’s the only piece of the Closet World experience that I’ve liked. I wish they used a computer like California Closets to show you the design digitally. They showed the design on a piece of paper and it didn’t match up to what they actually put in. Because of my initial experience and having to go back to call them to fix it, I wouldn’t recommend them.

We found Closet World online and they're one of the first places we called and we set up a time for them to look at our area. It went well so we moved forward with them. We did a home office and our designer was very detailed. There was just one person during the installation and it probably was a two-person job so it took a little longer than they were hoping. He did scar the walls up a little bit so we had to do some repair that was required. But overall I felt like he did a good job by himself. Had he had help it probably would have been much easier. He did have to take one drawer back and make an adjustment to it and then he brought it back the next day. The dresser looks nice. We're satisfied with Closet World. If someone asks me about them I would say it would be worth entertaining and I would compare prices. But I think it's a company well worth looking at.

He was very courteous and very professional. But the manager I talked with over the phone was totally opposite. He was very arrogant and very nasty. And then she re-measured and made sure of all the details and then we signed a lot of paperwork and then a few weeks later they came in for installation.
The install day ended up being three days. We had the wrong part so they couldn’t finish some of it on one day. But they helped me take everything out from the closet and then they put it all in, cleaned up fairly well. I’m happy with them. Their quality is okay. We had a master closet installed, as well as shelving, double hanging rack, drawers and a laundry basket.
Our designer was fabulous. We did not know and she gave us all kinds of advice and hints. She even went Home Depot with her sample of the wood, color matched the wood, and then gave us the number of the color match so we were able to use that to match for painting because Closet World was not able to provide us a sample of the wood so we couldn't get a paint color -- this is something maybe they want to start doing. The installers were fabulous as well, and were very professional too. They kept in contact with us as to when they were going to arrive. I had them do a basic closet, a couple of shelves for shoes and a couple of hangers. The designer was obviously an extremely good sales person, but the experience could have been better. During installation, somebody was sick and they couldn't come, and I had to rearrange my schedule. The next day, they were late. Then the designer measured it wrong. It was off a whole inch and so they couldn't do it, and they had to recut things and redo stuff which was a little bit of a hassle. They botched up a wall and they had to fix it. I wasn’t happy at all. But the guy that got the installers out here really came through. He did a really good job of trying to get everything solved and he went the extra mile. But it was not the same experience as we had last time and we tried to cancel that order and call another designer to come over.
I called and we cancelled but they forgot to cancel the order. They put it on for production and they had two orders going on at the same time and with the same measurement. They should have a better way to communicate, like email, so people can respond back yes or no. They also came back and said that we needed to pay more money because they have to change that order. So it was not a very good experience. We've already moved in to the house and we have all the clothes on the floor because we don't have the closet installed. I asked for help to put the closet early and I called six times. I spoke with the manager but nobody responded or emailed back. We had four garage cabinets installed. So we had a couple of cabinets covering our small den area and then a couple of tall cabinets in the regular area. The designer from Closet World came here exactly on time and she was very patient. She took everything we wanted and she was very thorough with the design. She gave us a bunch of options. We had a budget in mind, so she understood what could possibly be done to fit us into that budget. The best part was when they finally installed the cabinets and it was exactly how she described it to us. It was very difficult to design for the den area but she was able to do it.
The installation went very smoothly. The installers called a couple of days before they came out to remind us and they were on time. They installed pretty quickly. One of the doors had some marks on it and the installed had to schedule a follow up appointment. He said the moment he gets back to office he was going to file a work order and then they will come up within a week and replace it. Then they came later on and replaced one of the doors that had some spots on it.
The only thing that we’re disappointed was that the cabinets did not come with locks because when we talked about it, the thing the designer talked about and some of them in technical language and she mentioned locks. We thought it was basically with a key and a lock, but it's actually something else. So we called again and then they said it was going to cost extra and that it was not their fault. But it should be part of the style and selection and even if it is not, it's not as expensive as those guys had talked about. Overall, it was a very good experience and I will definitely recommend Closet World.

The other people I talked to weren't trying to do what was best for my vision and what I was looking at. But the Closet World designer asked me questions, figured out what I needed and what my musts were. When she designed the closet, it was even better than what I imagined. She listened and incorporated all that.
I had the basic rods and a drawer. There was also a hamper and a tie and belt rack. And above the hanging rods, there were little shelves all the way around the top. The only thing that was not that great is when I open my hamper, it doesn't close all the way so I have to lift up the drawer above it a little bit then make the hamper slide in. Something was off when the guy did the installation. I feel like when he did the drawer, it was a little lower than they should have been by a little bit. The hamper and the drawer were not lined up evenly on the edge. When the designer called me, I mentioned the issue to her and she told me to take pictures and send it to her. But I've been so busy and I forgot to do that. Other than that, everything has been fine.

The installation people did a perfect job too. Afterwards, the saleslady called me on the phone to ask me how it went. I’m very happy with the whole experience.

Closet World was a referral from a family member and I ended up getting a closet and a laundry room cabinet setup installed by them. The product was great and decent but the installation left a lot to be desired, as well as the service before and after the installation. The designer mismeasured and therefore, when the people came in to install the laundry room portion, the cabinet doors had to be changed in size and they had to make another trip out to finish the project. They did some cutting and stuff in my garage then they left dust all over my motorcycle and gym equipment which I had to cleanup myself.
In addition to that, the designer also told me that Closet World would take care of hauling away the old cabinets from the laundry room which when the installers left, they said it was a $150 charge in order to take the old cabinets out. And I had to end up disposing them myself. So, there was a lot of miscommunication. I was really disappointed with the bad aspect of the service. I'd tell others to look somewhere else as I'm sure they can find a similar product and better service somewhere else.

My friend installed closets from Closet World in their garage, so we went straight to them too for a cabinet in our garage. Their designer was good but I didn’t really talk to her that long because I had to pick up my kids, but she’s legit. She's very nice and professional. Closet World has a good product. I was telling my friend maybe they should install too. So, I would definitely introduce them to other friends.

I used Closet World before and I went with them again. They installed closets in the two bedrooms, and the organizer set up. Their designer was pretty knowledgeable, drew up a sketch, listened to what I wanted them to do, then went from there. The installation was straightforward and painless. The installer had the sketches and he walked over, took a look at the two areas, and made sure that they were the right sketches for the closets. However, it was overpriced. Still, I'd recommend them.

We had a big discount from Closet World and the salesperson was very friendly. They knew what they were doing and showed the quality of the product. We had panels put up with shelves so that the shelves had places for hanging clothes and putting blankets. The designer did a very good job explaining what to expect and showed us the design. She came in and looked at how we did everything, how that room was set up and took all the measurements. She was very polite, friendly and really engaging.
The installers did a very nice job as well. They gave me some extra parts that I needed for if the shelves came off. So, they definitely went out of their way. One follow-up had to be done since as soon as we put the blankets on one side, the panel flexed and all the shelves fell down. They came out real quick and fixed that and then put locking shelves in. I'm on the homeowner's board for our homeowner's association and I put Closet World as a vendor. They're definitely on my recommended list. They'll work with you and give you both the best product and service.

I have an 11-foot long closet in my bedroom so there were lots of room in there and it was an appropriate place to put shelves and drawers in. Closet World is known so I had them do it. Their designer came out and did her measuring, then came back with her suggestions and listened to what I wanted and made adjustments from that point. So, everything was good. The installers who came were very nice men. They went to work and they weren't here for a full two hours and it was done. I’d recommend Closet World.

I see Closet World all the time and my daughter's closet was done by Closet World. The designer came in one day and it was kind of a trying day here where we were, and she worked with us to get the drawing together. There was a fire coming and we were being evacuated. But it was a pretty good kind of counsel. She answered all my questions. I called her back and a couple of times added something to it, and all was good. A man came in at the time I was expecting him and did the job. He was by himself and he worked all day. He installed some drawers and hanging areas. It was great.

I got a flyer in the mail and the coupon said half off and all my neighbors paid probably double of what I paid. I had a built-in Citizen office and then I had my closet, shelves, racks and things done. The designer I dealt with was very nice and professional. I really like her. I felt like she really knew the products well and she knew what I wanted. She got the things round up on the first day so I was pretty happy with it all around. Installation went faster than I thought. There were two guys and they cleaned up everything and it was really good. I was very happy. I'm thinking about having a built-in put in my bedroom now by Closet World. I just have to think about what I want. But once we get settled, I'll contact Teresa and have her build a built-in for me.

We have seen the ads of Closet World in the papers or the direct mailers for a while and we just didn’t have the need for it and all of a sudden we have the need so, we decided to call them. We didn’t really know what was going to be the cost with everything so, it just happened that we needed to get it done as soon as possible and Closet World was pretty quick. We had some custom shelving put in. The person met with us and she went over through everything. She was really nice and went through everything. She took the measurements pretty quickly and it didn’t take as long as we thought. The installation person came in and everything went up pretty quick and he was really nice and he didn’t really need any help. I had taken out most of the closet before so, he didn’t have much to do with that. The room were already out, as far as anything in there. He was good, fine, quick, fast, and sufficient.
It was two small closets and one large closet. Some were drawers and the shoe rack and some are pretty basic but they put it in as it was. We really liked the closets. Everything seems to be pretty good. We put some stuffs in some of them. We had a good experience with Closet World though its cost was a little more than we were hoping for but other than that, the people that were involved were all nice. I would probably recommend it and tell my friends to check it out.

When we moved here, we wanted a conversion of one of the rooms in our house to an office. We'd seen commercials of Closet World and so we contacted them. We wanted a quote on changing out our wardrobe closet doors in the bedroom and to add a desk and cabinets in what we wanted to be our office, and we wound up just going with the office. The designer was friendly and professional, and we had confidence in the product that they were presenting. They helped us choose the color palette that my wife wanted and helped us design what we wanted. It was a good experience. Also, the installation went smoothly, exactly the way it was promised. The crew was courteous and stayed on the job. They didn't take excessive breaks.
Our only disappointment was that the support piece underneath the cabinets cracked and that caused the bottom of the top cabinets to sag and then, the doors weren't aligned and they wouldn't open and close properly. When they replaced that support piece and pulled the cabinets up, they fixed them to the walls so that they had additional support besides the one support piece. Then, they doubled up that support piece to where there were two support pieces underneath there instead of just one. All of that added to reinforcing and increasing the strength of the cabinets to prevent this from happening again without compromising the look. We were very pleased overall with Closet World and their representatives and service people.

We had Closet World install a Master's bedroom closet. Our interactions with their designer were very pleasurable. She was very smart and she knew what she was doing. She came up with a good plan and a good design. On the other hand, the installation went well. The installer came when he said he would and spent most of the day putting the closet in. He was very neat and he didn’t damage anything in the house. It was also a very pleasurable experience.
However, my wife and I were both very disappointed in the odor of their product. Our bedroom is small with no window so there's no ventilation. I wanted to be assured that there was not going to be an odor from the particle board and what we were told was that it is melamine and it doesn’t smell. It may be melamine but it still smells. I've been complaining that I don’t even want it in my house. I ran an air purifier in the room and opened the window and doors for the last three weeks every day. It's becoming less noticeable but it's not gone. So, we haven't put all our clothes back. We're hoping that something could be done with it that would keep that from smelling.
I'm a builder so I know melamine and I know that the 10 drawers were melamine on the inside but they were particle board on the outside. So naturally, that's not going to seal in the odor of the particle board. What I did was, my wife and I took shelf line paper and covered the bottom of the drawers, hoping that would minimize the odor. But it didn’t help much. I asked to go to a showroom where the product was on display and they said they didn’t have one. And then I asked to go to a house where the closets had been installed so I could do a smell test. And they said that that would be too inconvenient to whoever had the closet.
When the installers came, I said I complained that there was a smell and he said, "I'll wipe it all down and by tomorrow, the smell will be gone." That wasn’t the case either. So basically, it's a very nice closet but I'm disappointed with the odor. I have a health condition and an allergy. So for me, odors are significant. That's why I wanted them to keep it from happening. I would have rather paid more money and had a different product put in my closet than one that smelled. If I end up having to live it, I'll probably just put a full-time fan in the room to try to circulate the smell. Bottomline, I'd like Closet World to know that if they're saying that they've never had this complaint from anyone before, that's not true unless everybody has a window in their closet or they don’t smell. I would recommend Closet World as far as the designer, but I can't recommend the company.

Closet World did very basic compartments, closet rods and one area with shelves for a regular closet. My interactions with the designer were all very positive but I wish I had pointed out to her that I had some long clothes. I had to rearrange things so that there was one area where all the shelves got moved up and we put a rod there so I could move my clothes around and still have space for the long clothes. Adrian was very kind and gracious, and he did that for me so that took care of it. But if the designer had asked more questions to begin with, I would have asked for that design, not the one I got. She had shelves going all the way down to the floor on that section but I needed the rods more than I needed shelf space. It would have helped if the person designing the closet had realized that to begin with. We could have eliminated having to settle with it.
That aside, the installation went very well and everything works. It is a very high-quality product and everything is nice, clean, neat, well-installed and sturdy. So I would recommend Closet World if anybody I knew wanted something like that. I’m very pleased with it, as well as the efficiency and professionalism of everyone. They did a great job. I’m also pleased that I got the 50 percent off. That was good news.

I had two closet people come out at the exact same day and they were literally there at the same exact time. I ended up liking Closet World’s rep better as well as her ideas. She was also able to get me a little bit of a better pricing for the two closets that I was doing than the other person. So I let the other lady leave first. I guess the way they like to do it is close the sale then do the negotiation before they actually leave, and that was fine. I knew I wanted to get the closet anyway so making the decision was no problem.
But there was a little bit of confusion when they came to do the installation. The salesperson who came out had measured everything and then drew everything up based on the little grids. But when the guys came out to install, they said that they couldn’t put everything in the places that she had indicated because the physical stuff wouldn’t fit properly. So they moved certain items to different walls. This happened even though they had the exact measurements ‘cause the room was bare. You would think that when they were drawing up the plan, they would know where things could and couldn't fit and then it wouldn’t be up to an installation technician. So that was just a little bit surprising. It ended up being fine and the closet’s great. It was just was not what I was expecting. But although in my case, it didn’t matter that stuff had to be moved, that could be a potential issue for others.
Aside from that, a couple of shelves were also missing and they didn’t install the tie rack. So they had to come back at a different time and bring those things. But when the guy came back and brought the shelves, he didn’t cut them short enough. I had to have my contractor come over and use his cable saw to cut those. It was literally a 16th of an inch off the end of the shelf. But it was no big deal. It was just little things. I love the closet though. I’ve never had a big closet like that before and the quality of everything seems to be great. It seems solid and like it’s going to last for a while. So overall, I had a great experience and I was very happy with how everything worked out.

The products that I got installed were for my master bedroom. The quality is okay. However, I noticed a little bit more of the flaws after the fact because when I was getting it installed, I felt like it was a little rushed to check. Closet World then called about a promotional thing to do a second closet and I decided to do that and schedule an appointment. I was excited about the second time. I showed the designer the space and she showed me the colors available, then gave me a design which was not appropriate for what I wanted. For the closet, they tried to put the shoes all the way up on one of the cabinets when they should all be in the bottom and everything in the upper space should be for clothing. So, we had to call to get another bar which gave us a hard time. There should be more options available so that anybody who has never gotten a closet done would have better use of the money one’s going to pay for it. Closet World was recommended by my neighbor across the street. I got estimates for the material to put together and it didn’t seem worth it for me. The quality is not what I thought it would be. I was thinking it was going to be wood and it was not. It's all melamine. There were a couple of dings in it too but they were not that bad. But they didn’t finish the job so they're coming back tomorrow to finish. Also, there was supposed to be a bridge, top, and bottom in all of the corners but the installer doesn't have that on his list. Unfortunately, I didn’t have my contract with me at the time. After they had left, I found the contract and it said right on it, "Bridge, top, and bottom," I called Closet World back and they said, "No problem." And I haven't heard anything. I called back again yesterday and the rep was like, "What are you talking about?" I said, "You're supposed to come back and do the top and bottom bridge." He then said, "Okay." So, they're coming tomorrow.
The woman that sold it to us was very nice and said that she was going to throw in a "valet." They didn’t do that so I called them back and the rep said, "Oh, he didn’t have one on the truck." Okay. But again, supposedly when they come back tomorrow, they're going to do the valet and finish the job hopefully. The installers that put it in were really clean, nice and courteous. They did all the work outside. Overall, I'm not as happy as I wanted to be. It's their office staff and the quality of the material that I'm not overwhelmed with. But for the $4,000 that it cost to do the closet, I've talked to other people and they said that it was a good price. I would still recommend them.

Closet World has good products and they’re competitively priced. They did closets and garage cabinets for me 15 years ago. In 2013, they had a cabinet built in for me, and most recently, I had them put pullout drawers in those same cabinets. Their designer was cordial and very professional but he measured the cabinets wrong for the drawers. When the guy came out to install them, he didn’t have the proper drawers because the measurements were off. So, he had to reschedule. And then, when they came back, they ran into a few little problems but they figured it out and corrected them so now the pullout drawers are in and they’re good. At first, the guy who came out to install was by himself and the second time he came out, he had helpers.
There was another installation in my garage prior to the pullout drawers. I had them add a cabinet to my garage cabinets and that cabinet has a problem. It somehow shifted and it needs to be repaired. I haven’t had the time to reach out to the company but the installers who came out to install the pullout drawers said that they would mention that so that they would reschedule it but I haven’t heard from anyone. There were hiccups but I would still recommend Closet World.

The salesperson of Closet World was so discombobulated. I explained to her I had over $900 of credit with Closet World as a deposit and that I didn’t want to do the extent of work that I originally want to do because I lost my job. But since I had over $900 of credit I wanted to see what I could see for $900 or something close to it. I spoke to her boss and he said, "Yes, you should be able to do that." And I said, "Great. So once she comes out, we'll discuss the possibilities." I explained that to her that I had spoken to her boss and she could not wrap her head around it.
I said, "We're going to apply it." She said, "No, no, no. That money is gone. You do not get the $900 of credit. Do you understand?" I said, "I've already paid it. I paid it months ago towards a bigger project and I can't afford a bigger project, and I'd spoken to your boss." She said, "No, no, no. We can't apply it." I said, "Well, you know what? We should just get him on the phone."
So we got him on the phone and we finally got it together. Maybe she was just having a bad day or she's just new to the job but I think she was very sincere. But in terms of the installation and the product it's great. As it turned out the installation team ended up coming much much earlier and I wasn’t home. So I just took a leap of faith and gave them the combination to my garage and it all went fine. They were nice. But the closets are also really overpriced and I learned that kind of the hard way, considering I paid another $900 and they're just four cabinets in the garage. I had paid $2,000 for the cabinets. It could have been done for half that. But again it's not like I didn’t know what price I was going in for. If I had a closet to outfit or a garage I would never call them again. Between the confusion and really just the price point and the fact that I had three meetings and phone calls it just was not an easy process.

We had some cabinets, some shelving, and some drawers installed in a master bedroom closet, as well as a shoe organizing shelving unit and a whole closet. The Closet World designer was great. She came in, listened to our brief, talked about some ideas and we landed on some specific ideas. And then she did a measure, drew up some plans and gave us a quote. We also talked about the timeline and a schedule was done.
Their installation team was very good. There were a couple of flaws in the initial design as far as drawer configuration. We initially had drawers going across the bottom of the entire closet but they had to be reconfigured and they are now stacked on top of one another. A couple of adjustments had to be made so they had to come back a second time. They had to order another drawer and put a bench-top on the larger unit in the master bedroom closet. Closet World got our project done in almost two weeks and the product wasn't bad, but the process was too much. There was a problem with the installation and the process of working with the people. The designers measured wrong. They did not take into consideration things like sockets that were there so and the plug sockets were being covered. When the installers came, they brought all materials then they had to leave. That took another four days where they had to go and cut new materials again. They had to re-measure and they had to come back at least three times.
And the installation manager told me in three instances that I never paid my deposit. There was a bunch of going back and forth. Nobody communicated so I had to call the supervisor above the installation manager and that supervisor said that they could see where I paid my deposit. Even until this day, it has not been resolved because my countertop, I have an island in there, was damaged and they still haven't done anything to rectify that and I already paid them $5,000.
I even told them to just give me the credit back for it and I would apply it towards something else. I was even being patient enough to say, "You guys don’t want to give me my money back for that? Then I'll just do another closet or something like that in my house." But they came out, measured for that and when the lady tried to call the designer to see what the status was on that credit, they had nothing. Once again, it's still not resolved. Also, the installer that was supposed to come to do something else in the house didn’t show up on two different occasions. There were no calls to say they couldn't make it and that we could do a reschedule.

I had a different idea going in and the installers weren’t cooperative as far as doing it that way so they ripped off a lot of stuff. It cost me another $800 to have it put back and painted. I wasn’t too pleased about that. It would have been nice to know that things were going to be cut on site instead of all that was done on the edges of the particle board showing. She was really friendly. However, we ended up having some issues with measurements not being right. The measurements that were correct in our paper somehow got transposed or copied down incorrectly.
We really like the guy who first came out. He remeasured everything for us and he was the one who caught a few of the mistakes. We then requested to have him come back out since he already knew what we were doing. And then when it got installed, there's a couple of things that still were not right that we noticed after he left so he came back and fixed those a week ago. It has all been completed now. Closet World renovated our closet and they did a nice job. We had just a couple of bars in our regular old one and they took that out. They put in shelving, a four-door dresser and double racks for hanging shirts, up and lower. They also put in an 18-inch piece for pants, as well as a little vertical thing for shoes and we can put eight pairs of shoes in it.
When the designer came out, she gave me different options and told me to pick one. But I was counting on her to give me more advice and tell me what she would do based on what I said. But maybe they've had bad experiences doing that too. I quizzed her enough again though, asking which one she would pick. It just took a little longer than it should've to design the closet but in the end, everything worked really well.
I'm always interested in why people are doing what they're doing and I got under the installer's skin a little bit. He kept emphasizing to me that, "Listen, I've done this for a long time. You just need to get out of here and leave me alone. You're gonna be happy when I'm done." I said, "Well, I just got to understand why we're doing this, how this goes together. That's just part of the engineering spirit in me. I'm sorry." I think he knew I was the client and I appreciated it. I knew I was paying and if I want to know what's going on he was gonna have to take time out and explain to me, and he would do that. I just felt like he was a little short on patience. He let me know that he didn't operate like that but he did a very good job of installing the closet. Everything worked like I thought it should and we've been happy with the result.

There was also a follow-up after the original installation because they did not bring the right stuff. And I need another because the whole rack is falling down now. My daughter took a picture, and everything’s on the floor. The closet completely fell apart.

Closet World came on time, and their service was very nice. I have also used them 15 years ago at my previous house. The closet and garage this time are not in excellent condition, but they are good. The material they used is not that great. The drawer is supposed to be self-closing but it does not self-close sometimes, so I'm not 100% satisfied. The designer was very nice and friendly, and the installer was very excellent and he did the installation very quickly, as well. I had a previous follow up on my master bedroom closet because the jewelry box was not in good condition, so I had to replace it.

Closet World constantly mailed flyers to the neighborhood and I've seen them so many times so I decided to give them a try. They installed counters in my closet and their designer was a very nice and friendly person. But she made a lot of errors with the measurements. The installers had to come twice because the first time they came, there was no way for them to do anything. After they took the shelves and drawers out, they said it wasn't going to work because the measurements were off by so much and I was so disappointed when they told me that. They had to remake and reshape the borders and the frames, then come back again to install that. For their second trip, everything was completed and there were no issues.
However, the way that the closet was designed is a little bit awkward. The depth is only half of the clothes and if I hang my shirts and blazers on all the hangers, one half is inside the closet while the other half is outside the closet. So, the closet they built is not deep enough and I don’t know why they did that kind of design. It looks so weird and it doesn't look right. But I don't want to argue with them about it. I acknowledged the design when they provided the diagram to me but I couldn't see that on the drawing when they came the first time to do the design. I could only see the problem when the whole thing was built up and all my clothes were up there.
I trusted the designer since I thought she has been doing this for years. But the closet doesn't look right. If I could, I would tear up the whole thing and redo it but I don’t have the time and the energy to do it right now. Fortunately, the closet has a door so I can close it. It's also functional and I can store my clothes in there but it doesn’t look good. So, I would not recommend Closet World.

I did three different estimates and Closet World was the one that stood out. The designer came over to the house to measure and we decided on what we wanted. She responded well and answered any questions we had. I purchased doors and shelves for the bedrooms at our rental property. It’s a good price point for the product and it was just what we were looking for for our rentals. We’re happy with it so far.

We had a customized closet with drawers and shelving for my master bedroom. The designer took measurements and consulted with us as to how we wanted it to turn out but I wasn’t totally happy with her. She didn’t seem to be totally competent. But she had spent so many hours crafting it and planning that we went ahead with her. We thought at that time that maybe she was new.
We had two installers come out the first time around and they were great. They were here for five hours, which was to be expected. But we had to have them back because the designer didn’t really explain to us how it would look without a backing. If it would have been explained a little bit more clearly initially, we would have gone with the backing. We had to backtrack and have them come out again and put a backing in. If it was done initially, it would have probably been a much smoother job and maybe a little bit more perfect-looking. The second time around, we had just one guy come out and he was one of the original guys. He was fine and everything was good. All in all, they did a good job.
But if I had a different designer come out and describe everything to us initially, we would have done things slightly differently. Just for instance, the drawers that are in there are almost too deep. I can't totally blame the lady though, 'cause she gave us the measurements. Years ago, I had a whole wall of bookshelves put in the office and when that lady came out, she was able to tell me what we were going to put in and actually bring it up on our computer. That was a good tool to use. That helped me so much to see what the outcome was going to be.
If I had seen how deep these drawers were going to be in my and my husband’s closet, we probably would have changed and had them a little bit less deep. I have four so we probably could have done six and have them not be quite as deep. It's almost wasted usage there. The final result is not 100% perfect, but it's good and I'm happy in that regard. Although the pricing was really crazy when the designer first quoted the project, when we ended up having it done, the pricing was much more reasonable.

We had a great experience with Closet world. I did it online and then I went by their pricing and the promotion they were running during the holidays. I had my walk-in closet, a pantry cabinet and then a bedroom closet done by this company. The designer we had was very professional. He came to the house, we talked about what exactly we were looking for, he took measurements, and then we went over pricing. We then made a decision, and then they did it. The installation team came in a little bit late, but we didn’t mind. He almost got it done in just one day, too. They just finished it yesterday with the last pantry closet. I show my neighbors that I really like the products, and I am happy with the way things came out.

The same nice guy came out to help design the closets in my laundry room and garage. The installations were very good too. Every time someone came here to install, they were very professional, cleaned up everything and wiped everything down when they were done. People should use Closet World.

I had Closet World install in a closet with no drawers or doors. It's all white and I've got four sections for hanging clothes. The designer did a good job. He took his time and made sure that I understood what I was getting. However, the installation went a little bit longer and much later in the day than I had anticipated. I also found some stickers with bar codes on them on almost every piece of material that they cut and placed in the unit. One of the guys took a cleaning solution to remove some of the marks that were made during the installation but I was surprised that he didn’t remove all the various labels that it had. So, I had to take those off myself. And they hadn’t really cleaned as there were some dirt left. Also, I wasn’t aware that they were going to remove as much molding around the closet that they did with the base floor molding. So, that’s going to cost me to have somebody come in and replace that.
I took advantage of the monthly payments and I've noticed online that the financing was done through Wells Fargo but unfortunately, I haven’t gotten any statements or any loan information from you guys. I called the designer and asked him about it. He said he was going to make a call and get back to me, but I haven’t heard back from him yet. With the basic model that I got for the $800 I paid for, I was a little bamboozled as it doesn’t seem like the perceived value. I wouldn't do it again with Closet World.

I chose Closet World because I thought they were cheaper. However, I got disappointed with the whole experience. Their designer came on Friday and we gave her the design and we thought we didn't like the design come Saturday and we wanted to make some changes to the design. She said we couldn't make changes to the design. So we said that we would cancel the contract if she did not let us make the design changes. So, she said, "Okay. We'll make the design changes." So, we made the design changes and everybody agreed and everything happened. We were then waiting for people to come and fix it. When they came, they came with the older design and they said, "Okay. Now, if you don't take the design then you have to wait another three to four weeks."
They said that they would pay us back some money and 5% discount just to take the older design. We were so pissed because we didn't like it. All-in-all, it was just 200 bucks and we were spending $2,000 to$4,000. That was the worst six weeks that I ever had. After spending so much money, it was super terrible. I would tell my friends not to go to Closet World. There are better places than that. We were going to give our contract for other closets to them but we decided to not even do this because we were not so happy.

I love the designer from Closet World. From the first time I met her, she was super sweet. She listened to everything I wanted and made sure that I was comfortable. There was a point in time when I was unsure about what the end product would look like, but she made me feel at ease. She kept in constant in contact with me to make sure that things were being done properly. Then, the installer showed up and said it would take two days, but he finished three projects in one day. He had to come back though because there were missing shelves. But he cleaned up afterwards and did a really good job.
We had a master closet, a bookshelf in our study, a locker mud room and a lounge area in our playroom which we get compliments all the time. Everything was great. Their end product was amazing as the design came out exactly like it was on the paper. They gave exactly what I wanted. Closet World was having a sale and although I got estimates elsewhere, I wasn’t too comfortable with the materials in some of them or they were too pricy. Some of them were comparable to Closet World's too. For the price, the materials Closet World used for my walk-in closet were good. The closet designer was also good but I was frustrated on the day of install. They couldn’t make it so we had to reschedule. But I think that was only because they pushed their installers too hard and booked too many jobs with them. They did not even let me know in advance so I was really upset with them. They were going to put me off another week and I said that was not doable. I had to follow up and get them to come when I needed them to come, which was the next day.
They were able to get the job done on the day that we rescheduled it and they did a very good job. But they were still rushed to get to another job. They had said they would come in and remove the existing stuff that was in my closet but I had a big shelf in there and they weren't going to take it down. I'm a girl and I was not going to be able to take that big closet shelf down. I needed them to do it. They told me they were rushed but I told them I didn't care. It was part of the job. Closet World shouldn't rush their guys to get the jobs done because that's when they can also make mistakes. Overall, the experience was good though and I would recommend them to friends. But I would also tell them to make sure their appointment stays on their appointment day.

i chose Closet World because of their fast response and their price is somewhat reasonable. Their designer was very nice but a bit incompetent. They came unprepared and didn't take the measurements correctly. Older homes usually shift. So, when you measure windows or walls, you have to take them a different sections of the wall because they're not going to be even. When they came to install the closet, they had to make adjustments because the walls were not even. The height that she measured, one location was different height than the other section of the wall. And had she been experiencing competence, she would have known that you had to take measurements from different sections of the wall to make sure you get the right measurements.
It also took forever to get them to install it. We paid half of the amount in advance and they took four months. We practically gave them an interest-free loan before they had the time to install it. And when they installed it, they forgot to do some things to get the weight so we had them come back and make some changes to it. Also, this is our second time using Closet World. They had installed some closets and cabinets in our garage and one of our bedrooms. Some of the hinges came loose and were falling apart. So, I'm not happy with that. We decided to give them another chance but we'll likely not try them again after this.

I had a clean white shelf, some drawers and bars installed by Closet World since they offered free installation. But for the price that I paid, I wouldn’t recommend them. The materials were cheap plywood and I probably could have done a better job through Home Depot for less money. But it's functional and I could live with it. And although the designer was great, the installers came super late. The job was supposed to be between 10:00 and 12:00 and they didn’t show up until 4:30. So, the job was not 100% completed and they had to come back to finish the two rods, as well as a belt and a tie rack that they had missed to install. A week later they came back and finished it up.
The customer service rep when I called to complain about the job not being completed was great. He added three more drawers that I felt was needed and didn’t charge me for that. I didn’t expect anything for free, but I appreciated the effort that they did. If a friend would ask me about Closet World though, I would tell them to buy the ClosetMaid unit and install it themselves. My brother did so and did an amazing job.

My experience with Closet World was not good. The pricing we felt was really high, given what we received. What we saw online and what we actually got were quite different. We're experienced consumers and we've been home flippers. We've been in 22 purchases and resale transactions, and with 22 years of marriage, we're not newbies at this. We were really shocked.
It began with a very wonderful sales person named Mimi. We really love her. In fact, we have become friends with her. She was outstanding but she didn't have a catalog provided by Closet World so we kept on having to wing it and go online and google images. When the people showed up on December 11 they didn't finish the job. One of the drawers wasn't cut or measured properly. It was like a four week-delay so we weren't able to put them away. We spent over $5,500 on the closet and kind of expected the job was going to be in, if it's not then they would come back and fix it.
The first meeting when we were asking the guy if he could finish caulking it he didn't do it because he needed to get home because of his kids. I get that because I'm a family guy but if he was on a job, he had to finish caulking it. The guy left so quickly and left all of his tools in our house. So then, when I asked them when they could come back and fix up the drawer, they said that the guy that did the install was on vacation so they have to do it next year. It was December 12th and they were saying the guy would come back mid-January. I don't want to have to wait a month because the one employee they want is on vacation. I want them to get my closet finished. To their credit they said they'd come end of December and so we went through that problem as well.
I told Closet World that the reason I wanted custom closets was that I was trying to get away from the round grommet where the screw goes into it, and then you twist the other thing that has about a circumference of a dime, and when you swivel it locks into place. To my horror, there are probably at least 30 to 40 of them all over our closet. My wife and I spent years on Home Depots, IKEA and Lowe's and getting those do it yourself kind of things and they have those. When I mentioned this to the installer he said that's the way they come and I kept trying to plead with them.
There is a side that you don't see the round grommet and there's a side that you do. And so if you're looking at the base of a wall-to-wall organizer, you would think that if it's an inch and half off the ground, you can slip the shelf upside down so the grommet is underneath and not on the top where you can see or decorate it. But they said they can't do it that way. I asked why and they said that it's because of gravity and the thing's gotta be on the bottom to hold it in place. I asked them why it was at the bottom and they said that's the way they locked them together.
If it's gravity and then they need to be on the bottom so it falls into place, then why is it everywhere in the shelf? They're on the top, the thing is upside down. That doesn't make sense. But then I looked at the very top of it, they're on top of the bottom. So basically, if someone went in and said their goal is to show as many of these grommets as much as they can, at the top you would think they'd be up high facing the ceiling so you wouldn't see them. However, they did it backwards.
We have these raised cabinets up in the ceiling, about 107 inches high, and underneath those, we now have16 grommets exposed and they said that there's nothing they can do on that. But then they put this big long board across the wall like a bean or stud that hold it in place. I asked why they did that and they said that's just the way it needs to support.
I called and spoke with the manager. The manager to his credit came out and stood about an hour with my wife and me. And that was nice. He agreed that they would put the board inside the cabinet so when they close, the support isn't showing. We specifically had this done customized because we have security cameras and DVRs and that's where flat panels go. And the board meant that we could no longer put our flat panels in there.
The manager said, "We have two types of things. We have closets and then we have entertainment or TAC which looked the same to the naked eye but it's built differently so that it's able to free floats on the wall without the wood beam." So I told them to do that and if they can hide the beam. I waited about three weeks. The guy came back. He was watching a little bit on that beam. I said, "Oh man, you don't know the history. I worked for weeks on this and they said, they're absolutely gonna move the beam." So then he kind of got hot with me and he said, "I've been doing this 28 or 30 years. I know what I'm doing and I'm gonna call the office." I just wanted them to do what they told me they would do. I wanted to make sure that it actually looked like wall-to-wall and not like my wife and I just went and got all these LEGO pieces and put all the building blocks together. We wanted them to look customized.
There were huge problems with the first install. Even the manager thought it wasn't going to work. It was with the wall and on the other side, it was about half inch to three quarter gap. When they finally agreed to rebuild everything after all of this back and forth, we pretty much had to start all over and when they finally showed up, the work they did was so bad. On the left side it was flush with the wall and on the right side it was a good half inch. And they had run about a stick of caulk. I spoke up and said that it doesn't really look that great. And now the caulking is actually separating from the wall a little bit and it just looks nasty. The guy also blamed our wall. He said our wall wasn't square.
The guy wanted me to sign off on everything. They billed my credit card the final 50% payment before they ever came back out to finish the job. I already paid them full weeks ago so I didn't have any leverage. They got a problem with quality, customer service, and the measurements. They got a redo, they got a problem with vacations and the sales person that we loved was let go and their manager gets into it with us. Moreover, we're not satisfied with the end job.
If you look at the closet, it looks nice. If you walk in, people are going to say that it is a nice closet. But as an owner, I made the decision to go because I wanted it totally tight with the walls and I don't want the grommets and I get both. I got this nasty caulking and with all the other promises he had. I'm just really regretful of our decision.

I saw Closet World on the internet when I was doing some comparison shopping. Closet World has better price and availability compared to the other two estimates I got -- I also talked to California Closets. I did three of our closets inside and then I did two full walls of cabinets in the garage. The designer we dealt with was great and she was the best part of it. She was pretty thorough and knowledgeable. There were a couple mixed ups when we first started about scheduling for a time for the rep to come and then she finally just called me directly, so that was great. The installation, however, was pretty terrible. They came and half of it was wrong. She had an error with regard to measuring it. The woman who came was the rep and so they had to rebuild everything. It put our construction on hold and then it was just one problem after another.
Everything ended up getting resolved. But they said they’re going to show up and then they didn’t show up one day. Then the next time they came, one of the doors was wrong and so they had to come back. When they were finally all done, one of the doors was warped, and so then that was another three weeks until they could make the door and have someone come up and install it, et cetera. The installation probably took at least four appointments, if not more. I also had purchased some extra shelves when they were coming to fix the closet door and then one of them was on the wrong side. But, overall, my husband took a couple of days off because I was traveling. It has delayed our construction which cost us more money. I would love to be able to use them again but I worry. Nevertheless, the installation crew was great, and they are super nice.

You could get almost the same material at Lowes but to get an installer that really knows and does it every day, you probably couldn't. I'm not confident enough to install closets properly so I picked Closet World. You could probably save a substantial amount of money if you did it yourself but I figured that it wouldn't be professionally installed. I used Closet World about 10 years ago and this time, I wanted to organize the garage and I knew that they did a good job. As long as they were extremely competitive on installing the shelving in the garage that are in question and the price was appropriate, I didn't have any reason not to go with them.
I would, from time to time, sit down with the designers and the people that do the installation and talk to them about issues that come up.
I thought about putting up a little cover coat right above the cabinets and they weren't able to install that because of the way that it ended up. The shelving was 24 and the pieces of wood that I had were like 22 inches, so it'd be off.mBut overall installation went pretty smooth. It took them a little bit longer than what they planned to take but got it done in the same days.

Closet World sucks. When you sign the contract with them, they don't give you a date of when they are going to do installation until you give them the check for half of the amount. I only found out about it when the designer came out. That was one shocker. The second one, it was when the guy showed up to do the installation. We purchased a shoe rack from them for my customer's master bedroom closet. My customer was busy on the phone in a meeting, so I told the installer, "Hey, just put everything inside that you are going to be working on. As soon as he gets off the phone, I can get your check." But he said, "If you don't give me a check with the rest of the amount, I will not put anything inside the house."
We spent two hours getting the truck. When my customer came out, I asked him for the rest of the money, and he was shocked at the same time. He was like, "That can't be possible." And I told him that Closet World is a one-time customer. The two installer guys spent two days. And instead of giving us a shoe rack, they gave us a bookshelf. My customer and I were like, "Hey, where's the shoe rack?" at the same time. And he looked at us and said, "Here it is." But it does not look like a shoe rack.
It's totally a bad experience. Somebody's got to go. It was kind of fishy when they ask you for the money before they give you the installation date and I thought that it was going to be it. Most people when they come in, they set up everything and, "We're finished. Let me show you what we did. What you asked for and this is what we delivered, and there you have it." But with them, "Can I get the final check?" Totally, it was a shocker. Unfortunately, the way they do business is not something they should be very proud of. And I definitely would not recommend them and I would never use them again. I'm very dissatisfied with them.

We had two to three companies who came but Closet World kept calling us though we were not ready. They also had little difference in price compared with others. One guy was much cheaper but that was not the big company. And so, in a way, I had never used before any closet company, so since I needed to go with it, I felt that Closet World had much better rate. There were two ladies who came, and I wanted to go with the other lady who came the very first time. It had nothing to do with the lady, but then somebody else called and I told them that they already had contacted with the other lady. But I don’t know who called. She said it was the same thing but it really was not.
We had Closet World install 5 closets in the bedroom. Their designer was a very nice lady. But to me, it’s like how any salesperson would do it. She was very polite and everything was fine. But when the work was done, then bye-bye and that’s it. There were some issues with not doing a good job with the installers. So I contacted her and she followed up, but we got it done.
I wasn’t very pleased with the installation people. The first time they came, they did a good job. But I could get more out of people who are still human beings and they’re not animals. They can’t work more than 24 hours or eight hours or ten hours and expect them to finish five closets in one day. The second time the installers came, they ruined it. It was a different person or crew who came and spent a couple of hours. They said they did the job though they still had not done it. So I called and said I’m not paying for this job since it is not done. The third time around, the same guy who did the first time came. He spent a little bit time in doing it.
Overall I’m just very disappointed. It will be very hard for me to recommend somebody and go with Closet World. The problem is having a good rapport and relationship with the consumer, not just getting the job done. Why don’t they do the job right the first time. Why do the installers have to come back again. I don’t like that idea.

She came to the house and I told her what I was looking for, and she threw in some ideas. It was an easier process this time since I knew what they had, and she also showed me that they had a new product available, coming in different colors. However, it was a little bit more than I expected in price. I'm budgeting on what I had done before, and they were able to bring the price down and work with me. There was a 50% off deal that Closet World were doing at the end of the year so I had them install a hallway closet with shelving. My interactions with their designer were positive and she was probably the best part of the whole experience. She was very friendly and came to the house, measured everything, and sent design options. I didn’t feel like she was trying to upsell me on anything and she just gave me options and she was easy to talk to.
On the other hand, the installation was not a positive experience. They were about an hour late and it looked like the materials were pre-measured. I remember the designer said that the installers were going to come and re-measure everything and it’ll be cut to size and they’ll custom do everything. So after installation, the one side of the shelving that you couldn’t move but normally for height purposes you would be able to take out the bottom shelf and make it a little higher or lower, you couldn't move the left side at all and then the right side was about three-eight seven inch too short. We actually had to reschedule and have someone come back out and fix it, which they did. My husband said the guy that came the second time was great. We had to wait another four weeks and it was frustrating. And the first time, they weren't there for 30 minutes, so they cut my baseboards which they didn't need to do, and didn’t adequately clean their mess.
Overall, I’m happy with most of my experience with Closet World. Although the drawer quality is very poor. I had originally asked for soft close and the designer just forgot to make a note on the invoice so I called her the first time the installers came and she said sorry and that she'll fix it. And that next time the installers came, they will include soft close. But something must have happen in communication because the second time they came out, they had no knowledge of the soft close. So I just sent an email in getting a refund at some point, just for the soft close.

Closet World offered value with their price and bid against two other companies. We had a garage reorganization and it was an expensive job. We've put in together around 18 cabinets. It's from floor to ceiling cabinetry with upper and lower. We also did a water heater cabinetry and then, we did a water system cabinetry. So, they're covering about 90% of my available wall space in my garage. I have a three-car garage so it was a big job.
The interactions with the designer were very positive. The competitor also had a good designer, but the designer from Closet World knew her products, understood our concerns we would raise, listened to them, and then gave suggestions which we were able to discuss to find the right solution. Her experience helped us. The interaction between the designer and the installation team is where they need help. The installation team came out and the installation took about four days which is more than I had anticipated.
I would have liked to see the installation team do a better clean-up of the areas and also removing labels from the cabinetry and shelving. But with regards to installing the product and doing their job, they performed adequately. Now, they had to subsequently come back and finish some of the other work and there was a mix up here. They said, “We'll do your cabinetry and your water heater. Your water system, we'll come back and send somebody else to measure.”
The designer measured it. The day they were coming out to do the final work on this water system, the guy said he was not doing the water system and only delivering additional shelving that we had ordered. So, I've called the installation department. It took another week to get it. The installer came for the water system and he was very good. While he was there installing the water system, another Closet World truck showed up to do the water system. It seems that two orders were placed. They had a lot of challenges and they’ve had a really big sale, so they probably had a lot of work, but at the end, the installation was done correctly. It did have some manufacturing defects on some of the doors. I bought the top-of-the-line door, but I'm hoping that they will take care of it. They promised and they kept it.
I ordered some additional shelves but they were missing a part that goes around the front of the shelf. We asked them to replace that and the two doors. They promised that they will do it and hopefully, I'm going to hear back. We're still waiting for those because we think it's a manufacturer’s defect. When I spoke with them, I said, “Okay. So, now that you've installed everything, can I get a customer service department so that I can talk about what I think a manufacturing defect?” And he said, “No, you show the installers.” The installer took all the notes and we're waiting to hear back from them. Joe from their customer service department did call me but I haven’t heard back as to when they're going to replace those doors.
If anyone asks about Closet World I would say "first of all, make sure you got the right designer. Second of all, you need to talk to a couple of companies because each designer is different. And then, once you feel comfortable with the designer, that the designer has met your needs and you're reviewing the plans, make sure you really know what the plans with the installer at that." Follow through is also required.

When we went in the closet I had a panel that had to be worked around and they were great about readjusting the measurements and with everything that I needed. I’m quite pleased and I would recommend. I just love the closet and it looks really nice.

My aunt had a really good experience with Closet World and the job was going to be done pretty quickly so I went with them. I had them install cabinets in my garage. The designer, Alice, seemed pretty knowledgeable, nice, and very easy to work with. But the installation was not a great experience. It took them three times to come out and to actually get everything installed properly.
The installers came out the first time and one of the cabinet sizes was off and they had to do a build-out and they didn’t know they had to do that. So they came back on Tuesday and the people that came back on Tuesday did not know basically that somebody was at my house last Friday, so they came completely unprepared. And they did not know that they had to do the build-out either. They built most of the cabinets and then they had to come back on Saturday and finish the job.
And then on top of it, one of the shelves was actually not there and they were supposed to mail me the shelf. I emailed Alice and she was supposed to get them to send me the shelf and I still haven't seen it yet. Also, their cost was a little expensive. They gave great discounts and my husband was hoping it was going to be a little cheaper than it actually was.

We had Closet World install a garage cabinet and one of our smaller cabinets in our old house several years ago and in our new house, they installed master closet. We got some estimates from other closet companies wherein some were lower in price but with lower quality as well. We were desperate to get the closet done and wanted to compromise on the cost.
The cabinets done by Closet World were certainly better than the others. However, they messed up on the measurements and had to take everything back. The second time they came back, they installed the cabinet, but there were some doors that were damaged. The third time around, they came back again and replaced those cabinet doors. That was a pretty bad experience because we had to make three different appointments over the course of two months, so we got extended. I jokingly asked the manager if they were going to make up for the delay but there were no courtesy calls after that. If a friend would ask me about Closet World, I'd tell them not to fall for the 50% discount because the starting price is high and to just explore.

Closet World was a big company and they have been around for a while so I figured they would do a good job. I had them install a shelf, some hanging space, and doors for a closet. Their designer was really nice and very friendly. She came over and did all the measurements. She seemed like she knew what she was talking about, so I went with what she told me would be best for my closet. However, what we received wasn't exactly what I was told I was going to get. So, I was trying to figure out about having it corrected or even just a refund. But their customer service said that they would gladly take the closet back, but they won't issue back a refund because I signed the contract. So, I was stuck with what I received.
The color was fine though. Also, they told us the closet was going to cover the vent and it didn’t. When mom asked the installer about that, he told her that it couldn’t be cornered off all the way so that the doors wouldn't get in the way with the hanging. The designer didn't really fully explain that to us and told us that it was going to be perfectly cornered off and it wasn't. There was also an issue with the backing. She made it seem that I didn't need any more suppose to because I have cedar already in my closet. But I didn't realize that it wasn't going to match the closet they were putting in so it didn't look complete. They also didn't corner off like she said they were going to. Bottomline, it wouldn't be great for others to go with Closet World. I'd tell them to do more research, check other places and ask more questions. In my case, the designer showed me a picture of a closet, and what I got was not what she showed me.

During my first call to Closet World I was able to get the consultation soon so I just went ahead and went with it, and then the 50 percent off just sweetened the deal. We had the standard white panels. One of the closets has six areas of hanging space with the adjustable shelf. There were six rows of shelves for shoes, and then for the second closet I have more storage space shelving and then four areas to hang with the adjustable rods. Their designer was pleasant and timely. She seems to do her job very thoroughly, and it was just a smooth and easy going process. When I came home after the installation I noticed there was a like a small chip on one of the panels, and when I called I got another appointment and they came back out right away, fixed it and everything was good.

Since we wouldn't have to have somebody staying for a week putting in cabinets and the installation would be done quickly, we opted for Closet World to do the cabinets in our office. The installation was good and it took a day. The only issue was we were supposed to have a legal size for the file cabinet. But it's not that size so we're not able to put our legal files in there. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to talk to anyone about it. That aside, I'd still tell others to call Closet World to get a quote. They just have to make sure they get everything, specifically what they want, written down so there are no surprises.

Closet World has reasonable prices and I had them install shelves in the bedroom closets and utility closets. I have gotten 2 or 3 estimates before but I didn’t get any for this last one now that I’m a repeat customer. I had the same designer for both times and she was personable and not too stiff. Then the guy they sent for installation was good and knew what he was talking about, probably more than the designer did, so they had to retake mine back. There was a little delay because they had to re-measure it, but he knew what he was doing. So, that was all good. Yet it would be nice if it could be a little faster from when I order it to when I get it since I'd want to see it when I had spent thousands. Other than that, it’s a great world with Closet World in it.

I interviewed four companies, compared prices and chose Closet World. They did a closet for hanging goods and they did some garage cabinets. And in the closet all new cabinets were hanging and all new drawers. The Closet World designer was terrific. His name is Michael and knew what he was doing and his sketches were fine and so were the installers. Whatever claims or representation he made they lived up to. The installation went as planned. There were a couple of things to fix at the end and in two days they took care of it so it was all good.

They installed a new one, but they didn't install the back and the wall was dented a lot. There were a lot of hammer marks. And it took me a long time to patch it up and then reclean it. It didn't look good. Also, my hardwood floor had some scratches because of installation. Lastly, I thought that all the drawers would be good and smooth but they look cheap. They start shaking when I pull them in and out. The materials were unlike what my old house has wherein all drawers and materials are solid.

The only thing was it wasn’t the way that the designer said it was going to be. We reached out to Closet World and to Home Depot. Home Depot's prices were a little bit higher than what we were willing to pay. Plus, the guy that Home Depot sent over wasn't as informed and as skilled as the person from Closet World was. She was great. She did it old school, on a paper, and with a ruler, and it was really cool. Using a good old-fashioned paper and pen was really good because they gave her the ability to draw and sketch out what we really wanted versus get a computerized system that wouldn't let the guy from Home Dept work with the space that we wanted. He used an iPod, and he just couldn't get what we wanted into the system.
After she gave us an estimate and designed the plan, she was very sympathetic to the cause that we wanted, to keep costs a little bit minimal. She reached out to her manager several times. It was during Black Friday when we had it done, and he was able to give us a total of $600 off the original price that she had given us. I'm really happy about that. She was also really hands-on. She gave us a cellphone number. She replied to any questions or any comments on the day of delivery.
They sent one person over to build both closets, and he said he wasn't going to be able to finish the job in one day. When I called the designer, she assured me that he would, and they contacted someone. That person came to help the guy, and it was finished in a day. We were expecting a baby, so we wanted the baby's room to be done. We had custom shelving and wall hangings and stuff installed. We put up the board and hung it, and divided the space and stuff. We just wanted to get as organized as possible because with the baby coming, our closets were out of control. We told them that if we wanted to make it prettier down the line, we would call them and do it.
However, the person who came to install was not informed that we lived in a high-rise building. He came unprepared with dollies and tools to transport the material upstairs. Luckily, our building had a few dollies, so we borrowed one from them. It helped transport the boards and the wood and stuff up to the apartment. He needed some sort of transportational tool to help him move the boards back and forth. That would have made his experience and my experience a lot easier. But other than that, the overall experience was great. If I were to get another closet redone, I would definitely reach out to Closet World.

I've used Closet World before on my closet over 10 years ago. Before I chose Closet World I was going about looking for just a regular easy install from Home Depot’s or Lowe’s but it turned out the more I looked into it their price that it was much cheaper to go with Closet World. I like the 50% deal. That was probably the deal that I got and that’s why the price came out much cheaper than with just buying a regular closet.
I had Closet World install a closet at the the pantry, like an oversize closet all the way up to the ceiling. And then another separate closet, which we use as a pantry as well. I love the designer. She point out certain things, makes suggestions which would look better and she gave great suggestions, which I believe I didn’t get during the first time I had Closet World but this time I kind of know what I want. And she points out the pros and cons. She let me make the final decision.
There was one installer that came out and I thought it would be better to have two installers. It seems like the door itself was really big and heavy and he could’ve used a help. The first time he installed it one of the door was incorrect. They were unable to change it because they can't flip it. They have a design in the front of the door so they called it in and then they said that they're going to have to reorder it and then come back out and reinstall that door. Any little touch-up that I needed was done in the second one when they come back to reinstall the door correctly.

The Closet World designer who came out was awesome. We went over everything in detail. However, the installers screwed in some random screws into the door frame of my silhouette doors and left. So, the edges cracked at the bottom. They're not what they're supposed to be. Obviously, the doors themselves scratched across them, so the finishes come off. In addition to that, when I called and told them that something is wrong and I sent pictures in, the gentleman who handles those things said, “I understand. No problem. We'll have that fixed.” I had subsequently ordered the same closet doors for my second bedroom and he said, “When we bring those out to install them. We will fix that other one.”
Needless to say, the installer came out but he didn’t have the closet doors, and he knew nothing about fixing the threshold. They were out there adjusting the size of a shelf that was on me. That had nothing to do with their installation. But that’s why he came out. I had copies of the paperwork and they charged my credit card for the deposits. My designer called several times and talked to them. I sent long emails but nobody can find the orders. Things show pending but they don’t know what the situation is. They don’t know why it's not showing up in their system and they do not call back. I must have spent three hours on the phone trying to get somebody to tell me, “This is exactly what we're going to do and when we're going to come out.”
One day, they were supposed to come out, and they never even did. It's two small closets. I shudder to think because I have always used California Closets in the past. This is the first time I've used Closet World. This is my son’s townhome and the previous owners had used Closet World in one of their closets, so I went ahead and used them as well. I figured since they matched, they won't touch somebody else’s. However, the way they screwed in the threshold and the door jamb was awful. I've done over 15 closets over the years, big walk-in ones, not little tiny shelves, and I've never had this ever. The threshold is bronze, and the screws are like metal. They did them into the door jamb instead of into the floor. That’s where the doors hit when they close. They didn’t do it right.
I started with the silhouette doors in November because those take weeks to get in. Now, it's like we lost them. Then it showed pending and they charged my deposit for them. They have no idea what they are, and they don’t show up anywhere in any of their paperwork, nothing. I had the drawers but the depths of them were too big, so I paid to have them come out and make them short. That was at. At the same time, they were going to be doing the other closet doors and repairing the threshold. The installer knew nothing about that. He'd set up and just fix the drawers. Supposedly, they're going to be out on the 23rd to finish this up. I'm not entirely sure that they understand what they're out there doing.
I have envisioned them not having a whole threshold but them taking out the old screws and putting cement straight into the base, and leaving the one as is. I could be wrong but I don’t have clarification on how they're going to go about fixing it. They keep referring to the closet doors as mirrored. I realized that’s probably more common. Every single person I have talked to keep saying, “Your mirrored closets.” I keep saying they're not mirrored, they're a silhouette. You could imagine the alarm dogs going out. If this is the first thing everybody come to and I have to keep correcting them. Are they going to show up with mirrored doors? I talked to probably a total of 6 people, customer service, installation service, etc and none of them could do anything or understand.
To be honest, I was literally three hours away from calling American Express and disputing the charges because this is ridiculous. The guy called and said, “Well, we show you scheduled for the 23rd.” I was like, “All right. Do I wait and see if this comes through?” That is exactly at that point that I had just said, “Not happening.” I'd tell others to find another closet company.

We have a hamper door wherein the panel was different from what we have designed and paid for. A person came down to change that panel and he said that the holes that they have done were done in a different way and that they could't do it. And then, they went back. When we scheduled it for the next time, the person called me just before coming and said that he forgot the panel in the warehouse so he could not come that day. She didn't tell me of what will be missing or that I have options or that if I want a particular option then I need to pay more. The installation was okay and the installer was great, but the quality of the cabinet was not worth the money. If I knew that, I would have not gotten it. Closet World is a very large company and I thought they would do good but I've been disappointed with them. Diane stayed in my house for a long time and she tried to draw the picture. She was very patient and she tried to help me get the job so even though I was not impressed at all, I gave her a try. The installer first worked on two sides of my garage. The next time, I drove home when I knew he was there and when I got there, he had just started the job. He tried to put the wall unit into the garage wall but I saw that the edge of that unit was chipped. I showed it to him but he told me not to worry and that after he cleans it and hangs the door, I won't know it's there. I wondered how that would work but I let it go. I thought it may be magic. It was not my job and he was working. I didn't want to hang around when he's working and I went back to work.
After I came back home, he was already done and he had left. I checked and the chip was there. When he hung the unit there and tried to add some all together, I could see the line between was not fully covered. But I let it go too. Then I tried to see if I can move my things in the garage but when I touched something, there was dirt and something black, like oil. Then I had to clean. One or two areas is okay. Sometimes their hand or the rack gets oily but it kept going on. He never cleaned for me and he left everything. I had to pull everything out and go clean every shelf. I was not happy with his service at all.
He also left four extra shelves and I tried to put those in but I couldn't because he didn't give us the wide bar in front. The shelves he made were very far in between and I wanted to get the smaller shelf but I could not use those shelves because some were covered and some were not. They should give their customer four extra shelves so we can use it. Otherwise, why would they give those to us for?
Closet World is too big and too far. When you have a problem, you have to call on the phone and nobody shows. I regret it and I should have called the local one. But he had come right after I decided on Closet World. I like that they're local though. When you need them, they're there and it's a lot easier. I should have used them to support the local as well. I had used Closet World about 15 years ago in my daughter’s room. We were doing a nursery and their budget line was a better price than others. We had some drawers and shelves and a hanging area. I’m an interior designer so I’m meticulous with the design and inches and the half inches. Their designer didn’t have the same knowledge of cabinetry that I have. So I would say that for the average person she was good.
The installation guy was great but the second guy who came when the other one was almost finish was not quite as good but he was adequate. One drawer had a chip in it. The top drawer wobbled when you pulled it out and push it in like it was going to come off the track. And there was dirt on the drawers, on the sides. There’s a strip of laminate around the edges of the outside of drawers in that area there.
When the package came it was all full of this black kind of particles around the edges of the drawers and it was wrapped in plastics and it was inside the plastic. I don’t know if that’s packing stuff they sprinkle on or what but it didn’t clean out of the groves. So they’re coming back out to replace the two drawers and to take a look at the debris and dirt in the drawer’s edges.
The only thing that was frustrating was the voicemail has not been set up for a salesperson or designer. It’s been several weeks that I was trying to get a hold of her through calling the main board because I couldn’t find a card. I couldn’t get a hold of her because the receptionist just said, “Well, I guess her voicemail isn’t set up yet.” And I just called it again because we have another closet that we wanted to do. And we called her about a week ago and it’s still wasn’t set up. If I had her cell number that’s fine. But it was the going to the main office. Also it would be nice if the salesperson really has a phase where the clients a few days after they installed, ask, "How did it go?" “Do you need any follow-up?” “Were you satisfied?” Because we didn’t know who to call for the problems that we were left with. It took us a while.

Closet World did our closet and garage four years ago when we moved in. It’s wonderful and it works out well. We have some bowing on the closet shelves though. We’ve turned them over, but they’re still bowing. My Closet World sheets are too heavy for the shelves. We recently contacted Closet World and were told that there is a seven year warranty. Four shelves that are bowing in the closet are eligible to be replaced.
Closet World recently installed my China cabinet. I ordered the pants hanger as a center part to this three unit dish cabinet thing for my tablecloths, and it was going to work wonderfully. It said about 14 inches and that’s what our cabinets were. There was no question that this would not work and we were both very excited that I could have a hanging unit for my tablecloths again. When the installer, Felipe, had it installed, all of a sudden the door wouldn’t close on that particular cabinet. The hangers were 18 or 20 inches wide.
Mark came right there with us because he was very excited to see the finished result as he’d never done a China cabinet. It really is impressive because we were able to blend it in with the kitchen cabinets. The real disappointment was that Mark had always been under the impression that we could put this hanging rack in and Closet World doesn’t make a smaller hanger to accommodate the 14 inch cabinet. The problem was on the people approving this. The hanger size was not a part of the catalog that I had sitting in front of me. That was not advertised correctly. I would give my all to have that pants hanger in that cabinet, but I have no way of getting hangers that would work it. Had I known at the very onset that this isn’t going to work, I would have ordered whatever the next width was to accommodate the hangers for the bottom part of the cabinet. But other than that, everything else is perfect.

They did our whole walk-in closet for our master bedroom. They also did a bunch of shelves and the designer did a good job. Nothing’s perfect but there was a couple little things that I would like to have fixed. I think it was the molding around the top that I wanted done and a couple other little areas that I wanted touched up. I looked around and said, “Hey, can you fix this, this?” They didn’t wait two weeks or three weeks to put the molding on. They came back the next day and they fixed everything.
And I remember I really wanted oil rubbed bronze stuff and it was like an extra $600 and some. I was like, “Whoa! That’s expensive," just to switch up to oil-rubbed bronze. They lowered it for me to like $400 and I just signed up with them right then and there. We're going to have a baby in April so we're thinking about doing the baby’s room closets. We were really happy with them so we're thinking about doing more work with them. The experience and the quality was good. I'm really happy and I would totally recommend them.

I thought that the Closet World ad said that they were in Huntington Beach, so I thought I was going with a local company. But now that I think about it, I don't know if they really were. Their rep came out in November to do the estimate for the two mirrored closet doors in my bedroom and a little shelf that I wanted done. She was very nice. Then we set up the appointment for the installation on December 5th, a Friday, since they were only open Monday through Friday.
The installers told me they were going to be here between 1:00 to 3:00. I took the day off from work and after sitting around all day, I got a call at 4 o'clock that Friday saying that they were behind schedule and that they couldn't come out. I was upset and I told them that was ridiculous. But they said there was nothing they could do about it. I had already taken everything out of my closet and I had to go all weekend with everything out of the closet. Plus, I had to take another day off work the following week.
When they finally came for the installation, the one who came out was not the one I spoke to who said they were behind schedule. The guy who came out was professional. He did a good job and cleaned up. But I wouldn't use them again. For the money I paid, I thought I was going to get a lot more of a difference inside the closet and it was not worth it. They were way overpriced and I was not happy with the experience.

I got a little flyer thing in the mail for Closet World then I looked at a bunch of reviews on it online and everyone seems pretty happy. Our designer left a catalog behind and said that she would pick it up the next day, which was kind of smart. I told her I didn't have a lot of time to spend with her the next day but that I would show the catalog to my husband. When she came, she stayed for an hour and a half and my husband and I both had to go. But she said she would make some phone calls and walk us through a better deal. She gave us the best price she could get us and we had to take it if we wanted that price. We got caught up in the moment and felt like, "Okay, it's fine whatever, let's just do it."
But in hindsight, it was kind of weird and it does not make sense. They send the same coupons all the time so I'm sure their "50% off," is not necessarily 50% off. I've had closets done before. We had one walk-in closet that we only had two sides done and we paid over $2,000 for it. I'm like, "There's no way that's $4,000 worth of melamine." I do sales for a living and I should have known better. At that time though, I was seven months pregnant so I just wanted to get it done. But I initially intended to get three different bids from people. My situation turned into this really quick thing though. It turned into a situation where we were suddenly locked into the deal. It was really kind of odd but it worked for the designer.
The other thing is we have some issues after the install and I had no idea and that the designer becomes completely hands off after you sign the paperwork. If you have any issues, you are at the mercy of their install team. I contacted the designer because I kept on staring at our entry system and something did not seem right with it. So I had my husband measure and he said it was not centered. The divider down the middle was off to the complete end. My husband measured everything and said that none of the measurements were correct based on the design.
The designer told me that she was out of the loop and had nothing to do with it anymore. I thought that was kind of odd since I spent so much money. She said I had to go to install and that if I have issues with install to just escalate it up to the VP. We called install and I talked to the install manager the first time. It took four phone calls and emails to finally get them to get back to us.
I remember the install guy asking me questions about the measurements and I told him that I had no idea and whatever was in the paperwork, it was what the designer and I designed. There were a bunch of things that got changed on that. We didn't have any issues with the closet install except for some reasons, they didn't run like a bottom shelf. And the way they ran it, it was kind of funky. We questioned them on that too. They will be coming back out next week to hopefully fix everything.
Overall, my experience backs my theory of getting three quotes and to make sure to have the designer in the loop. If you designed something with the person and the measurements are completely wrong, I don't know how the designer is still not be involved. But other than that, the closet is functional, it works and it looks nice.

I got another estimate and it was a little higher than the quote that Closet World gave me. I went with Closet World and the installation took 10 days. But the quality of the closets they installed for me was not good. In fact, my garage was done nicer than the closets. The shelves were not touching the extension of the wall so you could see the side of the shelf. And it was not glued very nicely so it's not a very good finish. So far, I've spoken with their closet designer and she's going to fix it.

Closet World gave me a discount on their special offer. Originally, it was 40% and then it was 50% so I called them. I ended up liking everything from the pre-consultation with Closet World and so, it went right from there. They put a sliding closet, a walk-in closet, shelving and a couple of drawers in fixed places where I could hang my longer clothes and hanging clothes. However, there as a little bit of miscommunication between us. There was one drawer that was supposed to be a jewelry drawer. It wasn’t the on the original paperwork, so I can’t blame anybody. But when they came to do the installation, I mentioned it before they left. Other than that, I've been happy with them. Keep up the good work, Closet World.

Closet World installed a closet in the master bedroom and then I also had them convert a storage area. There was a disconnect between the installers but the designer did for us the blueprints and got it resolved. She was wonderful. The only thing that really caught my son and me off guard was when they pulled out the old shelving that was in his master closet. This is a brand new home. We were floored because we had to get somebody in to refinish the walls. We didn’t know it was going to look so God-awful. People need to be aware what's going to happen when there are existing shelves in the closet but nobody gave us the heads up on that.

Closet World is still waiting to deliver some things that they got wrong in the order. They put it up, but there are a couple of things I’m not satisfied with. They have these little silver prongs that connect to the wall, and I can see them. They’re sticking out on the wall. It looks a little not professionally done. They said to put clothes in front of them so I won’t see them.
For $4,000, my impression is they’ll try to cover it up. I could have bought two pieces of high end furniture for that amount. This doesn’t look like completely high end to me. I’m not satisfied. If the prices were made clearer to me, I would feel more satisfied. The ad said 50% off that was why I called them. But when the designer did all the estimate, it was not clear. I didn’t have the cost of each individual items. So that was kind of misleading. I couldn’t figure it out, and I felt ripped off. I would have been better if she had said, “Here’s the cost and here’s your 50% off.” It was overwhelming when they first come out. They did a design and said, “You need this, you add this, take this away.” I didn’t know what she was talking about.
The wall basket doesn’t slide easily. When they installed it, the installer didn’t put it like the picture. So I called the designer, and she said to take a picture of it on my phone. I didn’t send it to her yet. I’m just going to leave it alone if it doesn’t look bad. It wasn’t what I chose but it still looks okay. Also, they didn't put the valet rod and the hamper basket. They put a wire basket and two rods that weren’t supposed to be in there. But the installer didn’t know what to do because it wasn’t spaced properly. I pulled out my receipt, and she wrote in there what I wanted. So they’re going to change it.
The installer wasn’t friendly. He was kind of nasty to me. When I told him I was supposed to get these other things, he said, “No, you’re not. You’re not going to get it.” And then he got mad at me because I said they didn’t make it like the picture. He was nice in the beginning and he knew what he was doing, but then he got a little irritable. He called me earlier in the week and said he put the order in but somebody cancelled it so he had to order it again. So the final stuff should be in by Friday. They’ll all come back and install it.

We came across some advertisements for Closet World when we moved here locally. The brochure included some sort of savings, so we started looking at pricing. We were happy originally with the quote and we ended up going with them. The designer came over and we talked about what we wanted to do. She took all the measurements and sat down and sketched out some of the ideas, the plan and what we wanted. They met what we were looking to do and we decided to go ahead and get the project scheduled all together.
We had two master bedroom closets done, as well as a pantry and a laundry room. The installation team was prompt and efficient. I appreciated that people showed up when they said they would and it wasn’t a four-hour-window-we might-stop-by type of thing. They came down multiple days because of the size and the number of rooms we were doing. They did a good job of communicating and cleaning up. The project was completed after two full days and they were able to take care of everything without any follow-ups, so we were happy overall. I would recommend Closet World for the quality I was expecting and for the price we paid. We've already done that a couple of times.

Closet World's prices weren’t the best but they had a sale going on so I looked at them and gave them a call. During the first time I met with someone, I decided not to move forward with them because their prices were too expensive. During the second time, I saw that they had a special going on and I did not want to do the closet myself. I was too much work and I didn’t feel like doing it so I had them come back out and I decided to just move forward. We sat with the designer and she drew it out. I made suggestions of what I wanted because her first drawing was based on what she was trying to do to cut price. But I knew how I wanted my Master bedroom closet to be so we redrafted it and took away and added too.
My only concern is when people enter your home they have to be mindful of people’s floors. I did tell the Closet World people over the phone that they needed to bring some booties to put on over their shoes because I didn’t want that on my floor but they didn’t bring those. That kind of irritated me but they did have some little tarps in the car that they put down which worked fine. Also they dinged my wall right in the middle with a big gash so I had to have that repaired. But other than that they did good. They came back out because they didn’t do the little corner things that I wanted on the bottom. They were very responsive and they took care of everything quickly. Although it wasn’t all done that first day once I brought it to their attention they immediately took care of it.

I had a great experience with Closet World. A few years ago, they got me a quote, and I ended up getting about four different estimates three years ago when I had that quote, and I had them come back and re-quote me. Closet World had given me the best at that time and they were willing to work with my budget to an extent. I called them and we negotiated them back to the price that they had given me three years ago, which I very much appreciate it. I had them replace the sliding doors on cupboard.
The designer was great. What was a little awkward was when she ended up calling the boss to get the number approved. She ended up putting me on loudspeaker so I could hear everything he was saying, which I wish she hadn't done that. But ultimately, I ended up hanging up a few times on them, just kind of work with me just on my budget, and from 1200 I got it down to 900, which was our original quote. I am going to get my other doors replace, hopefully by them. I was told that they would end up contacting me, and I'd negotiate the same type price, but they haven't called me yet. Nevertheless, I would recommend them.

I like the fact that someone from Closet World comes out. I was originally going to go with Costco 'cause I know they have quality products. But I have to submit everything myself and my concern is getting measurements wrong and I'm not comfortable with that. So I went with Closet World because they offered a free consultation. Also, Closet World is one of the big closet companies out there and a well-known brand.
I wanted to change the spare room into a closet. I had a closet already in that room because it was originally a bedroom. The big challenge was to coordinate the already existing closet 'cause I didn't want to knock that closet out in case I needed to change the room back into a bedroom. Amy, the designer, came out and she did the whole closet design for me. She put all of my shoes into the already existing closet. And then from there, she designed things for my clothes. At that time, I liked a little island but she said that based on what she saw, I didn't have room for an island. I have too much crap so I called her back and told her that I do still need an island. She came up with a little design for my island which is coming today. Whenever I had questions, she returned my calls. I'm doing two other closets with them again so that tells how happy I am.

We got something in the mail from Closet World. They were offering 50% off for new homeowners which didn't end up being such a great deal. It was very expensive even with the 50% off so I don't know if they were just marking it up like crazy amounts. We did a closet system, a small office bedroom, and some shelving and hanging stuff on one side of a master a closet. The quality of their work is not terrible but it's nothing amazing for that kind of money.
My husband was working from home that day so it disrupted his schedule. It also took up a lot of my time. But in the end, it clicked and the drawer was exactly what we were saying in the beginning. The guys who installed it were fast and good, too.
Then we needed some shelving in our master closet. There was already some shelving in there and we didn't want to mess that up. We wanted it to stay in place and we just wanted them to build under it to add in some shelves and hanging space. We kept going over that with the same gal trying to make it clear to her. When she came out, she measured in the beginning then she didn't come back. We were communicating by text, telephone and email, and she didn't always respond right away. So it took weeks to finalize and when we finally got there, I told her I wasn't sure with the measurements. But she assured me all the time that the order would be more than what we wanted.
When their guy came out, he did the job, but the closet didn't end up like I told her. They messed up our top shelf so we lost our top shelf that we wanted to keep the entire time. They cut our base too much and it was an inch too big, exactly what I told her, so now there's a gap. I tried getting back in touch with her saying it wasn't right but she said there was nothing she could do. I called customer service, talked briefly with their manager for the regional area, and he asked me to send pictures and follow up an email. I've done that twice but I've heard nothing back. I also couldn't get any follow up and I didn't want to sit on hold for hours trying to get to that point. Now we're trying to figure out what to do and we're contemplating on contacting our bank. For what we paid and for the grief we dealt with, we're not very happy with them.
Their installers left screws and debris on the floor, too, and didn't clean up after themselves. They also removed some things so we have to paint the wall again and we knew that was going to look ugly but it's way uglier and raw to leave it like that. So, lessons learned, we won't be using Closet World again and I don't think my husband's going to go for anything like it. We'll just get a handyman to build some shelves next time. In fact, we had a pantry that needed shelving and we did it ourselves. We did not use Closet World for that because we got burned and it cost us a fraction of what we paid them before.

But other than that, it was okay.

The initial consultation with the designer was good. We talked through a lot of things and it was a two-hour session. She gave us a lot of options and thoughts. Then she spent a good amount of time in designing and then showed us what it would ultimately look like. The installation was very good as well, but the contract was very hard to understand what was or wasn't included. They were very open in getting back to me communication-wise. But we had a difference of opinion as to what was included and it was just something that didn’t go the way I would have liked it to. And I just let it go.
We also went through a few other companies. The lead times with Closet World was about three weeks, which was great because the others have six to eight weeks. They also had a promotion and the price was a lot better than others. I had Closet World install a master bedroom closet and some shelves in the kitchen area. The installers came a little later in their time window and then it got too late so they needed to come back a second time to finish the smaller portion of the kitchen pantry. But they did a good job. They were professional and cleaned up the area well. All in all, I'd recommend Closet World.

It didn’t occur to me to call a closet company until my neighbor recommended that I do.
The Closet World designer was very professional. I liked her suggestions. It was really nice ‘cause she involved me. She gave me all the info. The installer did a great job, too. He was very professional and prompt. When he was installing one wall, we realized that one side was fatter than it should be and it was going to be hard to get in that blind corner. Sometimes it's hard that you do some stuff on paper. So he goes, “I think we have to make this a little bit smaller.” We looked at it and told him he was right. Nobody could have figured it out exactly. He came back and did that a week later, which was fine because it came out perfectly. I love what Closet World did. It was well-done and of good quality. Closet World was a larger company, and we've heard other people have had good experiences with them. They were at least competitively priced, too. The designer was very clear. She gave us a price breaks where she could, and the closet organizers were designed very effectively. The installation crew respected my demands. We had our second-floor kind of finished already. I asked them to put down some drop cloths and to take off their shoes. They did a pretty good job with that. They were cooperative and well-trained in what they were supposed to do. The project was finished up to the standards that were asked of them.
But the product itself and the materials that were utilized are probably under par. In general, they use MDF or particle board. We as builders understand that to be the lowest grade. However, it was something that the owner had chosen to move forward on so it was a little bit out of our control. But overall, Closet World is a great company. They're easy to work with, quick, and on time. It's a little bit pricier than we anticipated given the material cost, but from a service point of view, they're absolutely brilliant and perfect in that aspect. Everything was okay and there were no follow up appointments needed.
However, when they did my first closet, they didn’t mention to me that the color of the particular wood used for the backing to the wall would not match the closet. Whereas in the pictures they showed me, everything was all matching up. So once they were done, it looked odd to me in a sense because the colors didn't match. I had the wood but I had a white wall in the back and I was thrown off by that. But when the second people came out, I knew about it and that issue was noted so everything matched. I did some research on the various closet installation companies and Closet World was the first to respond, to come out and offer me a package. I live in a condominium so, I went with the basic white pressed wood. I wanted the closets to be affordable. The designer was very good and she pushed hard to make a deal with the company to secure the contract which I was very impressed with.
The installers came out and without my knowledge they changed the design because there was a pull out hamper and it didn't work in the area that we originally planned on. They weren't able to complete the installation because they did not bring the hardware that was needed to install it in that different location. They came back out more than two times because the design of the pull out hamper was too heavy for the hardware. It kept breaking. A young man took over the problem and he handled it very well. He was very efficient and got it taken care of as soon as he could.
I had some issues with communicating with the company. When I first called to tell them that there was a problem with the installation, it took them a good 10 days before they were able to pass me over to somebody that took care of the problem. Once they did that, I had to make a couple of calls and after that they took care of it very fast. So, there was that interim of confusion with the person that apparently was supposed to take care of it wasn't there anymore and nobody realized that he had left that unattended. Closet World installed two master walk-ins with drawers and uppers but it was a rough and horrible experience. The sales lady from Closet World couldn’t clarify exactly what I wanted, was extremely pushy, and every time I met with her, she was saying that was the last day and I had to buy. I didn’t like that and I wouldn’t buy anything without my husband. She would also call me and text me and always tried to make a sale and didn’t speak English very well either.
But despite the salesperson, Closet World has the best price and good quality, and it was what I wanted so we decided to go with them. However, when the closet came, the handles on the drawers were gold but I ordered oil-rubbed bronze. I had to stop the installation because it was not what I wanted and I didn’t want to pay for it. I called the sales lady and told her that she saw my house, and we both knew that it wasn’t the color that I asked. It was a bummer that she was acting that way. I also talked to the manager a few times that day, and he said, “We will get you the right handles although that’s what you ordered.” When in fact it was not what I ordered.
After a lot of going back and forth with him, he did get me the right handles for no charge and when they installed the closet, they were fine. But the design wasn’t absolutely correct. One of my main purposes was I wanted to be able to have all my shoes on one wall but they gave only four shelves on that wall. I called the company and told them I needed more shelves. And the girl that I called said, “Well, they’re $46 a shelf.” And I said, “Good because I need 12 more and I’m not going to pay $46 each for my little shelf.” So, I ended up buying them from the container store and they were $12 each. It wasn’t a very good experience and I would never use Closet World again.

If I could give this company a minus -5 Stars I would. If you notice, I NEVER write bad reviews it is just not something I want to waste time doing. I usually only review places I really like. Well today, I am changing that. Closet World has been the Worst and I mean Worst vendor experience I have ever had and second is not even close! If you want to stop reading now and just move on I understand, just never use this company!
Where do I start? No customer service what so ever. Once you sign the contract, they treat you like dirt! Today will be the 4 attempt to install my master closet. It all started with the salesperson who did not measure correctly and sold me a design that was not even remotely going to fit the dimensions of my closet. I found this out only on the first attempt in EARLY NOVEMBER, which I had to take work off from work and wait 5 hours as the installer was late. Then comes the realization that no one cares in this company what the customer experience is and if you want to cancel after realizing what nightmares are in store for you, forget it! Only way is go see Judge Judy.
I live in the customer service industry, this company needs from top/down a SOP protocol review, revamp, and people need to be fired. The rep said she had no power to help and disappears after the contract was signed. They forced me to deal with a very rude head of installation who did not care about my concerns, but just forcing the bad design and contract down my throat. His department displayed no synergy of information between the sales rep and his department and did not seem to care at all of the inconvenience this was causing. More importantly they have no idea how to resolve design conflicts, how to keep the customer abreast of issues/timing and you would think most important, how to make the customer HAPPY!!!
Two more attempts and much more time and energy from myself and my wife and still no apology, no attempting to make it right with offers of discounts or anything. Even the installers stated this was the worse install job he has been a part of in the more than decade and a half working for closet world. No apologies, no trying to make it right! I hope that today will be the end of this nightmare. I really do not want to waste any more of my time especially on this review other than to warn all potential customers to steer very clear from this toxic company.

We've used Closet World before for some other work and we thought the work was good. They were a good match for the new project which was a bedroom closet. We put in a lot of extra shelves to add storage space. We worked with a different designer, and it was very easy to deal with her. She was very professional. She had good ideas to match our needs and what we wanted. The installation was better this time around than last time. It went very smoothly. It took them about 2 hours and I thought it would take at least twice as long as it did. They were very efficient and they vacuumed everything up. We're very pleased with the designer and the installers.

When I hired a contractor to do some work in my house, they used Closet World for a closet. This last time, we had two cabinets with a desk and some drawers installed in a spare room. It was like an office set-up. The designer was knowledgeable, nice and polite. The installation was fine and relatively easy. But I wish I had known about running some wires before the installation was finished. They were out in the middle of the floor. I would rather have them ran behind the cabinets and there were tapes stuck on the bottom of one of the desks and there were small blemishes on some of the stuff. Besides those, Closet World got the job done.

Closet World's saleslady was great. She was personable, kind and had ideas. She was also quick, clean, awesome and very friendly. Also, their designer was very helpful. We had them install three bedroom closets and that went well too. The installer was quick, on time, very clean and he did great. It was a very nice job and everything was done the first time. I was happy with the installation time frame because we just bought the house and we were moving in so I needed a company that could get it in quickest. The entire process went really well.

I called Closet World to replace the closets they put in years ago. I had them rebuild all my closets again because my house was flooded and they were all ruined. I had them do small tweaks here and there but it was pretty much the exact thing. The designer was prompt and she answered her phone when I called, and she called or texted when I asked her a question. She came out and spent whatever amount of time she needed to get everything drawn up. Then the installers came and did what was designed. It all seemed to be correct although we were missing a couple of drawer rails. But they came back as soon as they came in, and put those in.
There was a lot of miscommunication and problems with the order and pricing once it got away from the designer and into the company. There were a lot of hassles and follow-ups that I had to do. It took quite a while and they were very delayed. They were about three weeks off from when they said they were going to be able to install it. We waited a couple of weeks for the pricing to be approved because the one lady went on vacation, and then the manager guy lost the paperwork on his desk. The office seems to run a little disheveled but the designer and installers that came out to the house were great.

We had Closet World install a cabinet for towels in the hallway and the designer was really good as well as the installation experience. There were 2 installers and they cleaned up. I would totally recommend Closet World to my friends.

I was going to redo my closet next year because there were some other things I wanted to do this year, but all my clothes were on the floor, so it was a mess. I was talking about my closet disaster and one of my friends in my knitting group started talking about her Closet World system. She said she loved it so much that when she moved, she took it down and took it with her because the new owner did not want it. It was a great recommendation and I went for it. I called Closet World and Home Depot, and Closet World was the first one that called me back.
The rep made an appointment, came right out to my place, and spent at least a couple of hours measuring and going over my options. I told her what I wanted and she came out with a design and we finagled it a little bit because she was putting a shelf unit in the back wall in the middle and then two long hanging areas on each side which work great, but I told her the bottom shelves are not going to be used because I can’t get down there with my arthritis. I asked if we could make them as drawers and she made two nice, big drawers. They are terrific and I have got lots of hanging space. The place is pack-full of more clothes, along with some storage items and shoes, and I am still trying to shove a few more things in there. I am very happy with my system and with the way everything went.
We had a couple of delays wherein I got sick and had to delay the work and then the installer got sick. I was glad to see him when he finally got here and he did a fantastic job. He was very friendly and professional. He made sure that he cut the boards on the porch and that my doors were shut. He cleaned up after himself, including whatever sawdust was there. The rep was great and she gave me a good deal, which is a no-interest for a year. Closet World gave me lots of time to change my mind and that's one of the reasons I went ahead with the project. They were very on top of things and I have been telling everybody about them.

We had heard some good things about Closet World and then there was also a decent deal going on the flyer. We had them install their products on our bedroom and garage. I love it. Their designer came out on a very short notice but she was able to put together a good deal for us so we were happy with that. Also, they had a good idea to not have the cabinet go all the way down to the ground which I would not have thought of myself. That was a clever idea. The only problem we had was that they had worked out on us getting a cedar strip to cover up some of the closets that they tore out but the first crew forgot to bring it. I had to schedule an additional time for a secondary tech to come out and install that. But, they did a really nice job.

We had a really bad experience with Closet World and I'm not recommending them to anyone now. We worked with them in our previous homes and loved the work that they did, so we had them over again. The previous closet was a very small closet and this closet that we have in our new house is more like a room so it is a big closet. The work that needed to be done was more but they messed it up. The designer gave us a quote but she did not include everything that was supposed to be included. Then the guys that came in was very disrespectful. They just kept doing the wrong thing and they made holes in the walls that were not supposed to be there. One of them even filed a claim where they’re supposed to pay for the repairs but we haven't heard back from them.
What we have is a basic closet but we were supposed to have the signature closets. They used really low-grade material although we signed up for an upgraded material. I told them it was not the right material and we didn't sign up for this. He kept working and said, "You know, I have to get paid by the end of the day, so I have to do it.” I told him that I'm going to talk to his manager, and maybe then they can figure it out. He said, "No, I'm just going to do it." They pulled our previous closet out without drilling it out so they made holes in the wall. It was so bad but we were really nice to them. We kept negotiating and working with them so that they could come back and do it again one day. But they just said that we have to pay more. So, we are paying $3,000 more than the original quote to get what we were promised in the first place.
The process has been more than a month now. I recommended Closet World to everyone before and this is the first time I've had this experience. We've had tons of calls, then the Closet World guys came in twice, and they're coming for final installation next week. The experience wasn't great but I hope they do a great job and have the closet finished finally.
