A technician came and fixed my oven burner which was clogged. They were cool, but it was a little long without having that burner. It took almost a week for them before they came out. But it got taken care of and other than that, I was okay with everything.

We filed a claim because our 30 yo downstairs HVAC was not cooling properly. The coils and outside line were obviosuly leaking because they continue to ice over. However, that did not warrant a leak check says Cinch. So they added freon which did nothing to help the situation, still not cooling and still icing over and leaking on my garage floor. Then, our "Customer Advocate Specialist" told us via email AND voicemail message that our "entire unit" would be replaced. After a month of trying to get the work schedule, I finally received a call from the service provider that they were only approved to replace the coils, and the $1200 I signed off on paying was to modify the old system so that the new coils would fit! This is unacceptable! They need to honor their initial decision. There is something suspicious going on here. When you call and ask to speak with someone else, the company will only allow you to talk to your "Customer Advocacy Specialist."

We had the Sears/Cinch Home Warranty from July 2023 until October 2024. Our kitchen had older appliances. We first used the warranty service on our dishwasher and had prompt service. But then recently our fridge died. A local repair provider dispatched from Sears came promptly and said we needed a new compressor. We waited a full 2 weeks but the part was not available (backordered). During this wait, our range/oven died and we opened another service request. But before the repair person came, we decided to get all new kitchen appliances and not wait any longer. We noted that calls to the warranty staff required a lengthy phone recorded menu and that some representatives we finally talked to could not be easily understood (foreign speakers?). We had to keep trying and finally were able to cancel both service requests and then finally the warranty contract itself after lengthy argument with a warranty representative. At no time was any financial compensation in lieu of repair/replacement offered to us to help us with the new purchases. So we are out over $2000 with nothing to show for it except a lot of aggravation. If you have all older appliances and have experienced trouble getting a local repair person to come to your home, then maybe this warranty would be good for you. But it didn't really help us.

Cinch is good. Things happen and they'll be there. You pay a deductible and that's where it goes so sometimes it saves you a lot of money. I like that they fix everything. I did a claim on a water heater and it went well. I put it in one day, and the next day, a repairman was out here fixing it. He replaced two elements to fix it. One thing that could be improved would be time sometimes. I know that they have to go through the channels and get everything approved but they could make it a little faster. They come to find out there's a problem, then they gotta run it through and get it approved, and it might take a couple of days. If it's your air conditioning, it might take a couple of days and it might be the dead of summer. It's hard to go without AC. I had a problem with my heater and it was taking a little bit. Cinch told me to go buy these heaters to use and they paid for them until they got the part in.

Cinch has been very helpful. I've been a member for almost 10 years and I've had really positive experiences. Occasionally, I've had some issues though. With my dishwasher last month, it took four weeks for it to be resolved. In some cases, it takes more than a week. If they can have more service providers to cover those events, that would be great. But I had a furnace problem this week, and it was resolved in one day. I plan to continue to be a Cinch member.

We were with HMS and Cinch took over the policies. One time, we called to let them know that we were having a problem with the fridge, but they said that what I was calling about wasn't covered. A while after that, the fridge started leaking, so we called them up and they sent out Taylor Home Appliances. They very nice people and it was determined that the part that needs to be replaced was obsolete. So they offered us a replacement for it, but the replacement they offered wouldn't fit in the kitchen. It would have blocked the doorway to the laundry room. That's why we wound up doing the cash-out and found our own refrigerator. Everything went very well. Aside from that, the price of the policy increased, and it's a little high.

I've been with Cinch since July. There's terrible miscommunication, and any claim takes a really long time. There isn't a feedback loop with the providers that they use, so it ends up pending for weeks and weeks at a time. I had a really terrible experience with my dishwasher. I submitted a claim in July, and I just had a dishwasher installed last week. It took three months and having five people come out, and they kept telling me the same thing. It was just a bunch of disjointed providers.

When we purchased our home, they provided us with a home warranty. We continued it once that one expired, then Cinch bought out the company that we previously had. Recently, I did a claim with my dishwasher. It was leaking water. I put the claim in online and they quickly assigned me a technician. The technician came out a week later, but he wasn't able to repair my dishwasher on that visit and the service company quickly learned that they couldn't get the parts. Cinch contacted me about the replacement, and we communicated about how I wanted to go about it. I'm now in the replacement phase, and I've already received the check for it.

The technician was good. I also have a claim in right now for my washing machine, and it is the same technician. I like that it's the same company that's coming out, so we're establishing a rapport. The technician was professional and communicative.

I'm very happy with Cinch. The only thing is the deductible is expensive. Overall, it's still more affordable than paying full price for everything also. The technician that came in was young and untrained yet. My wife told him what the issue was, and he still did what he wanted to do. We had to wait two weeks for the part, even though we told him, "This is the problem." He said, "There's no burner on the bottom, on the stove." We said, "How? What do you mean there's no burner? There is a burner in the stove on the bottom." He looked up something on his phone and he was like, "See. There's no burner."

He went outside to talk to somebody and then left without saying, "I'm leaving." I called the company that he works for and they apologized and sent another person who came in. Within five minutes, he put a new burner, which was originally what we told them and it fixed the problem. That was the only time that I had an issue with the technician. The second person they sent from that company was amazing. So, it was a really good experience.

I do my claims to Cinch by phone. I'm not very good at the internet, but it's good. I just follow the prompts and I usually am able to get ahold of somebody to tell. Recently, I had my washer repaired. It went really well. The people from the appliance service was affiliated with Sears. They called me up and asked me what was all going on. I gave a description to the Cinch people, but the appliance repair called me. They knew exactly what part to get and they didn't have to make another trip. So, that was good. I would tell others to try Cinch out. Prices are so high if you have to buy a new appliance yourself or just get a regular repairman. Then you have to pay for the part. All that adds up. So, it's a lot better to have the warranty.

Submitting a claim to Cinch was very easy, and I was happy with the way it went until I got to the point where the company that they chose to come out called me with, “We have authorization to replace your water heater, but we have to discuss the uncovered charges.” When I asked what the uncovered charges were, it was $1,216. So, if they were charging that, then how much is Cinch paying them to change out my water heater? The cost of the water heater was $800. Plus, if they're paying them $500 to install it, so I'm looking at $2,700 to have a water heater reinstalled. I'd done it myself for $40.

Cinch sent me a check for $723 to buy a water heater, which was not quite enough, but that was okay. I put the water heater in myself versus it costing me maybe $2,000 for installation. I've also had someone out for my thermostat in the house and for my air conditioner. I was very happy with those. It was all fixed very quickly. Overall, I pay Cinch $77 a month, and they're really receptive to my problems.

Cinch has been a great resource for me. I don't have to worry about stuff breaking down. And when they do break down, they come out. So, I like it. It’s a very good service. They're very prompt. When they say they're gonna be here, they're gonna be here. If they can't make it, they tell me right away. They say, "What's a good day for you?" So, we reschedule. I like that the people know what they're doing. The people who come out are very nice people.

I can submit a claim online and file it, and then someone contacts me and says, "What's the problem?" They may ask me to take a picture of the serial number. Then they send the person out to fix the problem. They give a name and then they call me and say, "I'll be there in about half hour." I like that. My most recent claim was the washer. It took a few tries. Three of them came in and they kept saying, "I gotta order this part. I gotta order that part." It seemed like the part ordering system was incomplete, but they finally got it to where they fixed it. It's fixed now.

Submitting claims with them has been easy. I can do most of it online and text. I usually don't have to talk to anybody. I pay a little deductible and the contractor would come out. Depending on the time of year, it could take a while to get someone out. But it has never been terrible. We have a system when we have guests. If there is a technician working, they would stay down in the basement. The contractor would yoo-hoo up to us, because we work in the office upstairs, so we can get the dogs. Because we wanna make sure the dogs stay calm. They've been accommodating. Cinch replaced my hot water heater, and all I had to do was pay a deductible. It saved us financially.

I've had my house for about 11 years so I've had Cinch for that long. I’ve had to submit several claims and haven't had any problems. They first came with a price that wasn't even near to helping me do what I had to do. But I called them and we worked it out though I had to come out of pocket a couple of hundred dollars. They're good people and everything went fine. I've had to use them a lot and I'm glad that I have them.

Our HVAC went down and the man came the very next day. He did his assessment and found that a part was needed. He cleaned out something that he needed to pour the bleach in and told me that’s how to clean it out. He came back with the part almost the very next day and fixed the HVAC. I also had a plumbing problem going on at the same time with my drain in the floor and the plumber measured the hole. He couldn't get the right size for the thing he was trying to plug up in the drain. He ordered the part and came back and managed to get it through there. Mostly, I love the way Cinch gets things done. I call them and they usually give me names of the people who I need to call to come and fix things.

Cinch bought me a new refrigerator when it went out. They've done a lot for me. If people own a home, they need it. My daughter let hers go. She's the one who told me about it but she couldn't afford it anymore. But I've been telling her to get it again because people need it. I thank God that I have it and that they've been there for me because I would have been in trouble. My husband died three years ago and I'm on my own as far as trying to get stuff done.

I've been with Cinch for about six months. The plan I chose covers everything and they were pretty good. The dishwasher went and they replaced it. I filed the claim over the computer and someone got back to me either the same day or the next morning. They were very quick in doing that. They scheduled a repairman to come out and he came out to check the washer.

The only thing was Cinch dragged their feet a little bit when the repairman explained to them what was wrong with the washer. The rep that he spoke to took down all the information and then I waited two weeks and I got no response since Cinch did not call me. I called Cinch and they had no record of the repairman talking to one of their service people. Somehow, the repairman he spoke to said that their call was disconnected and he didn't have a number to call back. But the rep I talked to got the process going again and everything went well. We're happy now. That two-week wait could have been avoided, though. The rep may not have had the repairman's number, but he did have my phone number. If they were disconnected, he should have called me. This was a little nits in communication but Cinch lived up to their promise. I would recommend them.

Our furnace had a gas leak as temperatures were dropping in the north. As we had two toddlers, it was important to get our furnace up and running as nights started freezing. I found the customer service to be some of the worst I have experienced. Their systems were also lacking. I had to contact them three times a day for a week to get our service request processed, documents uploaded and receive a response.

Customer service disconnected or hung up on me one per day. There was no ability to escalate and I did not feel a sense of urgency.

Their site to create a service request and drop box to upload documents also did not work and u had to create a ticket multiple times and upload my documents to the drop box and email them to ensure they received them.

As there was not a Cinch approved service company in the area, I had to find an approved HVAC company. Once I did, they would not accept the quote. The problem is still not resolved.

This place is the worst. I have my dishwasher melt and it took 4 months, at least 5 phone calls at an average of 1.5 hours each to get a replacement. There was never any direction of what needs to be in place before they could install the dishwasher. The dishwasher finally was delivered and the employees installing noticed a leaky valve and could not install. They left the dishwasher to be installed once the leak was fixed. When the leak was fixed, I called to get someone to come install, they pretty much told me they do not do that and did not have anyone to recommend to install. They also issued me $100 to have it installed. I was not able to get anyone to come install for less than $300. When I called, the agent on the phone kept repeating themselves and told me they did not have any contact information for their authorization department to question the amount I was getting. I had to rely on the old “check is in the mail”. DO NOT CONTRACT WITH THIS BUSINESS. Had Sears for years and my warranty was sold or managed or whatever by cinch. This is the worst service I have had in a really long time.

But my most recent and current experience has been horrendous. Six weeks ago, my refrigerator stopped cooling. I had to wait a couple of weeks to get a technician and another 10 days to get a part. Then the part was the wrong part, so I'm still waiting. They are supposed to get back to me and I'm trying to give that time. This has been one of these hands-off things where I never talked to the same person. I am 80 years old, and I'm walking in and out of the garage to get my milk. It's the most ridiculous thing. I'm very disappointed in the follow-up, and I'm thinking of whether to keep Cinch or not.

I have challenges getting on to my online Cinch account. In fact, I keep getting locked out and I'm never able to get on to doing my claim, so I have to call. What happens is they call a company, and then that company sends their person out. It's not really initiated by Cinch, but it can sometimes take a couple days between the time I call Cinch and the time the company comes out. The companies are fine. The cost sucks though. It's super expensive and having to pay every time I call and have somebody come out, another $200 adds up. So, we pay over $600 a year, and then it's $200 every time we call for service. And then sometimes, the issue ends up being something else, which we get charged another $200, so, it seems like a little bit of a racket.

It was very hard to understand the person that was taking our information. They had very broken English and were having trouble finding somebody to fix our problem in our area. We had some plumbing issues. We noticed it first in the dining room. It looked like our ceiling was wet and it’s been freshly painted when we bought it, so we knew there was a problem. We did a claim online but we didn't hear from Cinch. We called, and they said we never called in or sent them anything, but we know for a fact we did it within their app.

It was a week before the repairman was able to make it out because he was coming from the city. But he was very good and personable. He cleaned the lines that were clogged up that we asked him to, and the bathtub started draining properly. But now we have another issue. It's a bigger problem coming from the main lines coming into the house. Cinch charges $100 deductible for each problem, so we don't know what to do.

Hi Kimberly, we value your feedback about your experience with us. When placing a claim through our customer portal you would pay your service fee and receive an email notification with claim information. If these steps aren't processed the claim may not have been placed online. We regret to hear you struggled communicating with the agent you spoke with. Please know, although Cinch collects the service call fee these funds are paid to the provider we send to your home. As with any request for a service call, the service professional requires a service fee for the service call, diagnosis and/or any covered work performed. In most cases the charges for the work are well above this amount and would be covered by Cinch. We hope this explanation provides clarity of the fees and claim website. We are happy to hear that overall you were pleased with the service you received from the technician who serviced your plumbing issue. Sincerely, Amanda

At first, the prices were very reasonable, both the yearly payment and the incident payment. But they sure are climbing. Recently, I did a claim for a washing machine downstairs. A factory authorized guy come in and fixed it supposedly at the end of July. It stopped working again so Cinch went and got somebody local. But we ended up being without the product before the contractor could get in there for a couple days. They tried getting parts and fixing it but it didn't work. They thought they had it running but it didn’t when we tried it. It turned out they had to get a new control board but that took days to get them. We had to go into another couple of days wait before they could get somebody here. That stank. The washing machine was down for three weeks.

Cinch wants me to pay $5370 to this company to replace coil, I asked cinch to send somebody to make sure it’s the coil they refused. Cinch just screwed me over with a reimbursement. A repair that was booked through our Sears warranty, that Cinch apparently controls now, ended up not actually being put through it. Making us pay out of pocket when we shouldnt have.Cinch tells us to call and talk about getting reimbursed and for a month I've been doing a song and dance to try to get it. Yesterday 3 reps blamed me for the screw up even though I went through the warranty channels to use em. This morning after getting blamed again I just got told it'd never happen. That because to them it didn't go through and I paid out of pocket, they don't owe me a cent.

I went through the proper sears channels to book through my warranty (because im always told its easier and quicker than trying to get a rep's help) and I find out wires got crossed and didn't go through it when the technician was already at my home with the part in hand and I needed my AC fixed big time due to a heatwave.

If I call Cinch, they'll send me a text to go online and do it. That's a simple one, but sometimes I would like to speak with a person and give an explanation. Another thing is I know a lot of things are shipped overseas, but sometimes I like to talk to somebody with just a little more English. On the other hand, the techs that have been sent out are knowledgeable. I had one situation where the issue wasn't fixed within the time frame and they had to come back and work on it. Cinch is expensive for what you're getting out of it. Two months ago, I filed a claim for my AC unit but it has yet to be resolved. If they have to send an updated correspondence, it takes 24 hours to send an email so I have to wait a day. When I call, I get transferred to multiple people. I was on the phone for a week for three hours every day trying to follow up and get ahold of the proper people. Then they just give the typical script responses and are not helpful at all. Luckily, I still was in contact with my realtor who used their channels to get ahold of them. But I still don't have air conditioning and it's been a long process.

They sent a technician out the first time and they put stop leak into my system. I was disappointed in that service when I heard that that was what they did and I didn't approve them doing that before they put the leak in. Otherwise, I would have told them no. I filed a complaint with that and they said it was a guaranteed fix for 180 days. But it broke six days after because that was not an actual fix. Cinch sent another guy out there and he was disappointed to hear that they put stop leak in as it mucked up my entire system. Also during that time, the refrigerant had leaked out.

The next people Cinch sent out were a lot better, but they did make notes when they were out at my house. They said, "This whole system should be repaired. The last technician had screwed this up." But knowing Cinch, they're not going to send the proper people or they're not gonna approve the full fix. They'll do the cheapest option. Now, they are only covering $10. If they would have fixed it the first time, then I wouldn't have had to pay for that much refrigerant leaking out. Their initial technician damaged my system more, but they're not taking accountability of that. They're going with another temporary fix this time around. I'll be approaching winter here and at this point, I hardly need my AC on so I won't know within 180 days if it's broken or not. I'm gonna have to wait until summertime past the 180 days and pay my deductible again. That seems wrong that they're not proposing proper solutions.

Recently, I had a heat going out and I had to pay 200 out of pocket. I had to do a lot of back and forth between the vendor, Cinch, and myself to finally resolve it after two months. It was a long process. For one, Cinch had to send out the equipment to the contractor. They don't let the contractor have their own or purchase their own. Then the contractor didn’t do a right job the first few times and Cinch didn't want to change contractors because they already shipped the equipment to them. So, that took a few back and forth. Finally, they picked somebody else and that ended up resolving the problem. But that was very annoying because it was hot and we had no AC in the house for two months.

It would be nice if we could access or talk to the people who actually order the equipment. Because every time I called, the only person I could talk to was the primary operator and they didn't know anything about the equipment. All they could say was, “Well, it's been escalated to the equipment group or equipment research group. And we can’t transfer you to them.” So, that was very annoying too, because I had questions about the equipment and I wanted feedback on some equipment-related issue. But you can't talk to anybody that sources the actual equipment. So, that was frustrating.

Our hot water tank went recently and what I like the most is, Cinch was right on top of it. I called. It was a Friday. They had somebody here on Monday replacing the tank for me. They got really good service. The claim process was super easy. I didn't have any of those automated prompts when you're on hold doing those prompts for 10 minutes and it takes you forever to talk to somebody. This one, my call went right through to an agent. It was great. I talked to somebody. She looked at my policy and said it was covered. I had $100 deductible, which ain't nothing on a water tank. They had somebody here on Monday morning.

You want home warranty? Go with them. They're the best and they weren't expensive. I saw on my contract, they were $512 for the year. So, that's not expensive. And they warranty everything. However, they warranty appliances, which I won't use because my appliances are all under warranty because I bought them brand new.

But the speed of which things are taken care of improved. I had to call because the online payment thing wouldn't go through and that was a bit of a pain. I ended up having to call someone. It was press this, press that, and I finally got a human. The service is good.

When I bought the house, it already had a warranty and it transferred to me and that eventually turned into Cinch. I've been protected with the service for nine years. Submitting a claim has been easy with the only two claims I've had. I submitted it online like dropdown menus and such. My air conditioner was broken. The service was good. Parts were delayed, but that was no one's fault. It took like five weeks. It was really long. Almost all of July and start of August. Overall, Cinch has been easy to deal with.

The seller provided a home warranty from Cinch for a year. When I had to file a claim, it was very easy. I go on their website, I plug in my ID number and then they have pretty much like a wizard-based application online that walks me through step-by-step, things like that, and makes it real simple and easy to do. Also, they follow up really quickly. I've used it twice already and I got a callback both times within an hour or two. Then, the service comes either that day or the next day.

I had a washing machine issue that was leaking and the tech was trying to tell me what caused that, what happened, and what I can do in the future to prevent this from happening. They were pretty quick in fixing it and resolved the issue for me. I also had a garage door issue where the motor burned out in the garage door opener. The service tech came out and he kinda had a hunch right away what the issue was and he verified that pretty quickly. There was a calibration issue between the motor and the weight of the garage door that wasn't fixed properly. Within a day or two, he got that fixed and got me back up and running. The deductible is more than a typical house call. They charge $80 for a service call but I'm paying a $100 deductible -- it's a $20 difference but still covers the expense of a whole new garage door opener, which is $1500.

We purchased a home and they already have Cinch Home Warranty. So, we already had it for almost a whole year and we were happy to renew it after our experience with our AC getting fixed. When we had difficulties with a provider or a service, they provided us with another service and was able to get our AC fixed quicker than the original timeline. We had the contract from the previous owners but when we recently renewed for next year, we received all the information regarding our coverage in the mail with all the information. We were told all of that information as well on the phone.

Submitting a claim is very quick and to the point. It’s very user-friendly. We put in a new service for a dishwasher. It was working a couple of days ago completely fine and now, it's not turning on. We tried the breaker and the outlet, trying to get it turned on, but it's not working. We love Cinch and we've enjoyed it. If you're hesitant about fixing things yourself and you want someone qualified and certified to service your house, Cinch is quick to give you the service to fix your household items and be able to make them work efficiently. The coverage has been great and the communication has been fantastic. It hasn't been long and we've only made two claims but we are pleased with our service. We've paid less having it serviced through them than going through someone that we would freelance to go through. All the companies we've worked with have been very kind, helpful and direct with the service.

I wish i could give Cinch Home Services zero stars, because based on my experience they don't even deserve one star...

I paid the annual premium with 2 months free equaling $549.90 on Aug 8, 2024, and was told my next annual premium of $659.88 would be due in Sept 2025... however on Sept 11, 2024 the company proceeded to take $659.88 out of my bank account (with no notice.) I have called multiple times (9/14, 9/17, 9/20), and spoken to customer service reps named Dixie, Stephanie, Xary, Samantha, and a guy who claimed to be a manager named Kevin. Every single one of them said they were escalating my concern and requesting a refund, but according to Kevin the billing department still hasn't responded as of today, 9/20. At this point i'd like to cancel my policy, as Cinch has stolen my money, the reps aren't helpful, and for some reason my dashboard on the company website says i will be charged both $659.88/month and $659.88/year. I asked all of the reps to please change it so it shows the accurate amount (either $659/.88/yr or $54.99/month) but none of them were willing or able to do so. I am concerned that Cinch will continue to withdraw the $659.88 monthly, which would equal almost $8000 for the year, which is absolute insanity. I REVOKE AUTHORIZATION TO DRAFT FUNDS FROM MHY DEBIT CARD! I have started a dispute with my bank on the $659.88 September payment, since the reps haven't been able to process a refund despite all apologizing for the egregious mistake made by Cinch. I would also like to formally request a refund of the actual annual premium paid ($549.90) as I no longer trust the company. According to IX. Cancellation Information on page 13 of my contract, I "may cancel this agreement by telephone or in writing within 30 days of the coverage effective date (9/7/24) for a FULL refund of the contract fees paid if no claim has been made as of the date of the cancellation request."

I got Cinch when I purchased my house in 2017. It's easy to use and convenient to have to be able to fix anything that goes wrong, and pretty much everything is covered, so that's a plus. Any time I've had to submit anything, I got it taken care of within a week. The only disadvantage is that you can't go with the companies that you want, or if there's a company that you typically work with or that you prefer, you can't use your own company. You have to go with whoever they choose. Typically, you have the people that you work with that you know are going to give you the correct information versus other random people that might say things are broken or can't be fixed. But it hasn't been a big issue because I haven't had anything major to fix.

I've had a few decent contractors and a few not so decent ones. This most recent time, the contractor didn't show up the first day. They told me three hours after they were supposed to be there that they weren't coming, so I was sitting in a house with no AC for the full day and it was 90 degrees outside. That wasn't great. They came the day that they rescheduled it for, but that was irritating. I've had another contractor that said they fixed something, but it was still broken, so they had to come back out three different times. But I’ve had other ones that fixed the issue and were easy to work with.

I've been having problems the past few times with the people that Cinch is designating. Last time with the AC, Cinch recommended Sears to me. They had me confirm five times that they were showing up, and the day they were showing up, they canceled. They scheduled me another week and a half out. Luckily, a rep was able to get me Elite AC after I contacted her. My son reached out on social media and complained about the service, and she contacted him. It takes him to reach out on social media for me to get somebody to call me back quickly. The social media ladies are the ones that get something done. I also had put in a warranty for replacement of my water heater but I couldn't get approval. I was without hot water for over three weeks. A lady with their social media was able to go in and get them to go ahead and approve it.

The call center is unbearable. I used to call when filing claims but I'm having problems with the call center so I've been doing it online the past couple of times. That's something that Cinch needs to work on because it’s a communication flaw. It's cheaper to pay people overseas to do it, but if they can't help you and you don't understand what they're talking about, it's a waste of time. Cinch has to improve their customer service and the time it takes to approve a claim. I don't wanna leave Cinch but this is a problem every time I put a service request in. It's gonna take two or three weeks to make sure to get it done.

It’s hard to contact Cinch Home Services by phone because there's no phone number where I could talk to a person. I have to fool the system to get through. Somebody called me about something and I kept using that number to call back. It was an escalation number. Nobody seemed to give a darn. It took me a month to get my air conditioning fixed in the middle of the summer. One tech showed up one day, and he did a number on my system, but never came back. He came to diagnose it and never filed a report, but he cut the wires. He did some other stuff to it. Cinch gave me another provider but he couldn't come because he was in the hospital and didn't have any other employees, which I understand. People get sick. But he said he didn't have any other employees.

Cinch gave me a third provider. I had to request a new provider each time. They finally came out and fixed the matter. But it took a month. And I had to rent a hotel room. I had to buy fans. I was miserable. My husband is a disabled veteran, and the heat was too much for him. I asked Cinch to defray the cost of what I had to spend. But they refused and said they don't do that. And the ac is out again. They are coming back tomorrow. It's very frustrating. I wanna recommend them, because the gentleman that came out and ended up fixing my air said they were the best home warranty company to work with, but I couldn't because it has been bad. I have a feeling that they would try to charge me the deductible again when the tech comes back.

Or you can send an email but then they don't understand what you really need and they wanna call you back anyway. We had an air conditioning problem and three different services came out. Cinch kept saying they didn't have the report so they couldn't tell me whether the job was covered or not. It happened twice. I said if these vendors aren't getting back to them, then that was not my fault and not my problem. They said they'd send somebody else out. We told them we just wanted the unit fixed. The tech said he didn't assess jobs and he was just a technician. That was when I was done so no more Cinch for us. We are no longer Cinch members and I would never tell someone to get a home warranty unless it's paid for at closing.

They are there when I need them. If I call, they send a contractor. The last time a contractor came was for HVAC. I called Cinch because of the HVAC system, and they dispensed a technician. Someone said that there was mold in the system and their technician said that there wasn't, so they didn't do too much of anything, and left. When our boiler broke, they also sent a contractor came. They replaced the pieces.

We've had three problems so far. Two of them got handled. There was a problem identified with our air conditioning unit, which is working, but needs major maintenance. We were informed by Cinch Home Services they would only fix it if it breaks. We were disappointed that there wasn't more coverage for the air conditioning unit outside of having to sit here and hope it breaks so they would replace the unit or do something to it. But it is what it is. That is what the warranty says. Also, we've had two different contractors. One went very well. That was on a refrigerator. The first person Cinch sent was incompetent and made the problem worse. But Cinch sent out a second repairman and he fixed things fine.

We have a double oven. The top oven would not heat above 375 degrees. Cinch sent a man out. He turned the oven on. It went up to 375. He said, “Here. See, it works fine." I explained to him the problem, which I already explained to a rep who did not come here. So, he wasn't familiar with what the complaint was. They did a video. Looked at the oven. I turned the oven on. They asked me to check if heat came from the top. And it was. They asked me if heat came from the bottom. There was no heat. So, they thought whatever heats the bottom needed to be fixed.

When the tech came and turned on the oven, the next thing he did was turn on the bottom and he said, "See, there's heat coming from the bottom." I said, "No, no. The bottom oven works fine. You're probably just feeling the heat from the bottom oven coming up into the top oven." I almost had to scream at him to get him to pull the oven out so he could look and see what was wrong. Finally, he agreed to do that. And he looked at the top oven.

After he looked at it, he pointed to me there was a yellow component of some type and he said, "This is bad." I said, "Oh, what does it do?" He said, "I don't know, but it's bad." He did what he felt he needed to do. The oven turned on and it heated up. But what we found out later when my wife went to cook with it was it would heat up and would just get hotter and hotter. For instance, it was supposed to be 400 degrees. I don't know how hot it got, but it got to 700 or 800 degrees. So, whatever he did made the whatever causes the heat to go up to have no limit. We called them again. Another guy came a week later and fixed it with no problem. And I specifically asked Cinch not to send the first guy again. The warranty is worth having. You just need to make sure you understand exactly what it is you're buying.

It took five days for them to respond to send somebody out to look at my hot water heater. Then, it took them more than a week to get me an estimate. Also, they got $100 fee from me just to set up a claim, which was okay, but then they said it was $685 in additional money they wanted from me. A hot water heater is about $500 so, they wanted more than the part cost? I spent about three hours on the line with them, 33 minutes before I could talk to somebody. I tied up multiple of their lines and once they realized I wouldn't go away, they offered to pay me to do the work myself and they sent me a check for $885. I was ultimately happy but I really hope it is the only claim I have with them. I won't recommend them to anyone.

I made the appointment with them and they cancelled the appointment. In the end, I was switched to another carrier to render my service, which I was disappointed with because I was already prepared to use the other company that they had referred me to. Cinch has been great. We bought our house last year in April and it was the coverage that was offered. So, we took it and it worked. They fixed our furnace during that year and I decided to go with them again. They're quick and work good. Sometimes, I'll call when I submit a claim because I like to speak to someone in person. Then, they'll send me a text message with a link to make a payment with my card. Cinch would tell me who's coming by a text message or email and then, I'll get a call from the company shortly after and they'll let me know who’s gonna come.

The first company that came out worked on my furnace and the second company, Joy Lay & Sons Plumbing, cleaned my plumbing out. They were very good. They cleaned me out recently and then, they replaced my water heater. But I requested this guy with Next Level Plumbing to come back and do the work on my water heater. There was something with contract issues. That guy was excellent. He put a cleanout in my house and fixed all my problems. Cinch is extremely helpful. The only thing I don't like is, I only get $1,000 coverage for everything for a job. But other than that, it's good. Cinch is reliable. I told them I had an infant in my house and they had someone here the next day. Next Level Plumbing came the same day and it was 9 o'clock at night. So, it was speedy.

The soonest available was today and I made this appointment for my AC unit over two months ago and I took off of work and kept my child home from school and sat here all day, again!!

I called them at 12 and again at 2:30 and both times they assure me somebody was on their way, but could not give me a phone number to the technician or have them call me. It’s bad enough you have to wait months to get an appointment for a nonworking air conditioner in the summer but then for them not to show up or call and I even got confirmations last night and this morning about the appointment!
Nobody in customer service is obviously in the United States and are no help - not only did I take off today I spent over an hour total on the phone, trying to get a timeframe because this is exactly what happened with a washing machine claim (which they eventually gave a min amount to replace since they were no show but the $200 wasn’t worth all the aggravation!
They have no problem collecting your deductible months prior to the appointment but then to get a hold of somebody it is impossible.

I've sent two emails to Cinch, saying how unhappy I am and trying to explain the situation. Every situation has not been bad. But this one happens to be an air conditioning unit that is in a room upstairs where I have a child in, it has been hot in Chicago, and it has been a very unpleasant experience with this one air conditioning unit. Cinch does not want to replace the unit and has been giving me the runaround with six contractors at this point. While the services they offer are good on paper, working with their customer service and authorization department has been terrible.  We've had multiple jobs from them because they continue to send out multiple people to look at the same issue because they don't want to spend the money to fix the real problem.  This leads to us spending hours on the phone with customer service to get the job done and this is ongoing.  I definitely WOULD NOT RECOMMEND working with them.

Example:  We've had AC issues for a while and they refused to do any work on our unit (AZ summers are brutal) and would continue sending multiple techs to get a different opinion.  The problems continued after the first few times we got work orders. We finally got them to approve getting a new coil in and they went with the cheapest possible person to do it, so it wasn't installed properly.  Within three months, we had a leak from the installation that seeped all the way from our attic, through our second floor wall and into our kitchen on the first floor.

Not knowing what it was, we had them send someone out to check the leak, a plumber, and after 2 weeks of back and forth getting work approved for him to come back out and find the leak, he determined it wasn't a plumbing issue and it was from the AC Unit.  They refused to transfer the job back to an AC issue and keep it under their 180 day warranty, so we had to pay an additional deductible for that.

After 3 weeks, they finally got an AC company to come and stop the leak.  But, they won't let them reinstall the coil the correct way, they want the old incompetent contractor to come do it. We only found this out after calling them on 3 different occasions and being on the phone for extended periods. We still have not had anyone come to fix the issue after 4+ weeks of this.  If we didn't call and press them on this they would have just let the issue sit and never fixed it.

Currently they have yet to take responsibility for repairing all of the water damage we have throughout our whole house.  Judging by the amount of time on the phone it takes us just to get this AC project done after over a year of back and forth with them on it, I doubt they will be accountable and remedy the issue.

I would look elsewhere for home warranty needs if I could do it over again.

I can recommend Cinch Home Services to my friends. But I will not recommend the provider for my bathtub to anybody. I don't trust them. They said they would replace the faucet, but I know they could not replace for the exact one. But I do not like the one they brought. When I talked to them, they said Cinch doesn't want them to replace with the exact thing. But even though that would not be the exact one, it should be the similar one. And the one they used, I don't appreciate.

When they left, the faucet would make a noise when you open the water. So I called back Cinch, and they called back the provider. The day they came to fix it, the guy told me he had nothing to do with that one because he just fixed it. So, there was nothing to do. I said, "You cannot say that to me because I've been in apartment before moving to the house and I never heard any faucets like that make those noise." That meant that was the problem.

"The one I'm replacing doesn't make those noises before. You cannot say you come and you fix something, and there's another problem, I want you to fix it. You are the provider. You are the one who fix." But he said he could not do anything, and later he said he would talk to his boss before if he could make something. He went out and stayed in the car 10 minutes, came back and told me he would go and grab another part to replace it.

He went back and came back with another part to replace it. Everything worked well. The next time if I had the problem from my faucet, if Cinch would say he recommended, I would say, "No, I don't like that provider." They can choose another one. I have no problem Cinch because every time I claimed something, I received a response right away. The problem sometimes is the provider who let them come in. Cinch has to no problem, but they said, "This provider we call you, so you discuss with them for the schedule."

Bad experience and would not recommend. They use sub par contractors that do not stand behind their work. A contractor was sent out to repair my AC unit and approximately two weeks later the unit was not working again. I am now being told that I need a list of repairs that are not covered under the warranty which were never mentioned in the initial visit. I can only speculate that whatever was previously done has now caused the additional problems. Cinch was no help in communicating my concerns with the contractor.

Janice, Cinch has a 180-day workmanship guarantee on the service partners work which means that if the same problem occurs within that timeframe, we will send the provider back under the same deductible to re-evaluate your unit. Our records show that your unit required cleaning in order to further diagnose the problem and it was later discovered that the compressor needed to be replaced. The out-of-pocket expense is for non-covered items such as reclaim, disposal and modifications necessary to accommodate the new part. We were able to locate your account, and a resolution specialist will reach out to address your concerns and clarify the coverage. Sincerely, Amanda

We had a claim for the AC, a claim for the dishwasher (which was my son-in-law's fault ‘cause he flipped a switch), and a claim for plumbing. We had a plumber out to fix something but it continued to leak so we went to file another claim. It was a safety issue and was considered a warranty thing. They came out and fixed it. The AC repair person was one of the nicest people I've met since we moved to North Carolina. However, my wife said that when the plumber came out this week, he seemed a little irritated that he had to come back. The response that my wife got was a little upsetting to me. I'm a big customer service type person. When you don't do it right the first time, you gotta come back and fix it the second time.

Some of the timing of responses are off. We get it after the service has already been completed. Yesterday, we got a text saying the plumber was gonna be here today. Also, it'd be nicer if we could get service a little faster, especially in the summer. But everybody needs their AC worked on in the summer so I get it and I don't fault Cinch or anybody for that. I would totally recommend Cinch again. In fact, our warranty is almost up and we're talking about contacting them to reup it.

I filed a claim for my refrigerator. I couldn't understand the customer service place. I got heated with the lady because she kept telling me she would send somebody but nobody came. I ended up telling Cinch Home Services to screw off and give me my $100 back. I went and bought a new refrigerator. Same with my air conditioning unit. We had to wait four weeks for Cinch to send somebody out there, because the first person that they were supposed to send out there didn't answer the call to be able to make a phone call appointment with them. So, I called the rep and got into it with her. It has been stressful and overwhelming.

Cinch hasn't impressed me much other than they only charge me $100 deductible to look at stuff. But the way it's set up and they don't have any on-the-spot contractors, it’s a pushover to me. I pay $100 for them to send contractors out and fix my stuff, but the tech could take three to four weeks to come, even look at stuff, or even consider making an appointment. That's why I'm glad I didn't pay for it because I would’ve already been out of it. Steer clear of Cinch.

Putting in a claim to Cinch is very difficult. Unfortunately, their help desk is in the Philippines, and I'm good at understanding people but the people that I've dealt with when I've called were very difficult to understand. I started the process online, but somehow we had a really difficult claim this last time, and I had to call. I had to talk to someone, and they were very difficult. I called a number of times. They were very hard to understand.

I went online and I submitted the claim and then I had to wait for somebody to respond to it. That took a long time. We were at least a couple of weeks without getting someone. We live in Cleveland and they said they were sending someone from Pennsylvania. I didn't get that, but he must have been independent and he had some surgery so he couldn't come. So, it was a delay in getting anybody to even look at it, but he came. We had the breaker off, and when he turned it on, the oven worked, so it ended up closing the claim. That night, it malfunctioned again, but then we had to start all over and that was when I had to call. It took another week to get somebody out. It was a very difficult experience, but it was a $2,500 oven that they replaced, so I was happy with the outcome. All they did was send me a picture of what they were giving me. We've had two claims, and both times, that's how it worked.

I'm happy with the products. They do a good job of giving you a good quality product. Both of my replacements have been a good line. They've been very much middle of the road. Except for the fact that it was well worth the money, I had a difficult time with the call center. I didn't understand why it took so long to get somebody and why they came from Pennsylvania. Also, the night when the oven malfunctioned again and I reached out to the repair person, he never responded to me. He just closed the claim. He told me he couldn't fix it. It was too old. I was pleased the next time because they sent a GE repairman out. It took a week and it wasn't too bad, but then they had to order the oven, so it took time.

Overall, I'm not totally unhappy, but I'm not thrilled with Cinch. I considered looking elsewhere, but I don't know where to go. Two out of three experiences have been good. We had the refrigerator break, and they wouldn't fix it. When they came out, they said it was the ice maker and that wasn't covered. But I went back and there's nothing in my warranty that says it doesn't cover an ice maker.

After my real estate company, through whom I purchased the policy, proved the transmission of the payment and policy date the put it into effect on August 24. This is the day I filed the claim. The told me to wait am hour for them to get the policy into effect before I submit a claim. Now that I have submitted the claim, they are saying it is rejected because my claim and the policy effect date are the same and it was something that must have been happening before my policy was in effect. This is a typical insurance scam and this company should be avoided at all costs. I am now out the policy cost and the deductible for a service call. SCAM COMPANY!!!!

The technicians I've had so far have done a marvelous job, and I was very pleased with them. Just not with Cinch. When I scheduled for the repair that I needed for my sump pump, the gentleman who came out said that the whole thing needed to be replaced. It was raining and it had been raining, and I didn't want my basement flooding, so the gentleman did whatever he had to do temporarily. He also said that to finish the repair, he would have to get approval from Cinch, which I thought he or the company that he worked for did, because he came back out a few days later and finished it up. A few weeks later, the unit started beeping. I called the repair guy and he said it was probably the backup battery needing a replacement.

I called Cinch, and they said it should be covered. They said, “Well, you have 180 days that your claim is open.” So, I had the repair guy come out and he confirmed it was the battery. He replaced it, then I got a call from Cinch a week later, saying that technically, the full repair that he did initially, only part of it was covered, but their management ended up approving it, saying that the additional repair he did was covered. I was glad but at the same time very frustrated because the repair place was supposed to confirm that before the repair guy did the work. Cinch then decided to tell me that the battery was not covered and that's now on me. In the midst of all this, they went ahead and closed the claim. I'm not happy with them.

Another thing is my experience submitting a claim is okay and I have nothing against the reps, but it was very hard for me to communicate with anyone I talked to on the phone. They didn't seem to completely understand what I was saying, and it was hard to understand them as well. I kept asking them what they were saying. I finally just asked for a supervisor because I was hoping I could understand the supervisor better. That was a little better but not great. I wish the reps spoke better English. I do not discriminate, so don't take it that way. However, if I'm on the phone and I'm trying to explain my issue, it's very frustrating when there's a communication barrier.

Some of them that I've had come in were here for five seconds and told me that they couldn't do the job. Last year, my AC broke and I had to have three different companies come out here. One of the companies said they needed me to have a floor built in my attic so they could access the AC unit in the attic. That cost me about $300 to do out of pocket. I had been out of work for 16 weeks. I had surgery and didn't have that spare money to pay. The next company came out and all they had to do was fix a toggle button on the thermostat. The rep told me that the only thing that he could do was process the payment, and he could not answer my question.

I went to my account online, and they told me I could find what they were going to deliver to me. They showed me one picture of a GE refrigerator, and the choices would be the GE refrigerator or cash. They sent a check but it took them three weeks to pay it. We bought another refrigerator before they paid me. How could you imagine a household without a refrigerator in the summer? I was very mad. I had to go to the grocery store almost every day because I could not stock food. I have a cousin who had the same problem and their company responded to them faster than Cinch, and she was given different kinds of refrigerators to choose from. I don't like Cinch anymore. We don't have to wait two days tops. My most recent claim was with the dryer that wasn't working. The technician who came out didn't do anything because it turned out that my dryer hose was so clogged that there was no air getting through. He said since it's part of the house and not part of the actual appliance, he couldn't do it. That made sense. I had to call somebody to clean out my dryer vent.

Our hot water heater started to leak a year ago. A guy came and he recommended that it'd be replaced. It was approved within a day, and he came and replaced it. We did not have to pay for the hot water heater but we live in a very old house so he had to upgrade the connections so that it would pass inspection. Unfortunately, we had to pay for that. I have a rental so I use Cinch Home Services. That way, it's easier. If things break, I can have a repairman go out, and pay the deductible to come out, fix it, and move on. But I had my doubts with the garage door. Cinch's authorization department takes a little time to decide if they would authorize the claim. They took a week on the other one for the AC work, and this was with the garage door opener that needed repair or replaced. It took a few days. So, it depends on the workload that Cinch has, or the department. For the AC, we needed a return on the duct. There were stipulations inside the actual contract that Cinch covers some ductwork, but not that. So, we paid the deductible for the actual AC guy to come out and tell us that. But on the other claim where we had a garage door, they were able to fix it and move on.

This is my fourth house and I've been with Cinch for over 20 years. So, they've been good. But whenever we make a claim, it seems like it takes two to four days for the contractor to come out and fix the issue. My last claim in July, we had no air conditioning for four days. Before that, we had an electrical issue, and it took the contractor four days to come out. The companies that Cinch uses to service us homeowners are putting us on the last to-do list because we're using a warranty. That's not right. So, Cinch needs to work on that or they're gonna keep losing customers. People just don't wanna deal with the warranty company if they have to wait four days to have their heat turned on. Last winter, we had no heat for four days and I had to go get these space heaters.

The technicians are usually fine. I haven't had any bad ones yet. The price went up quite a bit last year because of the inflation and parts going up in price. But that wasn't too cool. When I first started using Cinch, they were like 500 a year. Now, it's about 800. It's jumped up quite a bit. So, the price could be a little better. The deductible now is $150. But it was 100 before. Even in my contract, it says 100. But then they charge me 150 every time I have a claim. That 150 per claim is ridiculous because sometimes that's paying for whatever they're doing when they come out even if it's not a big thing.

Leslie, Thank you for being a loyal customer for over 20 years and for sharing your experiences with us. We genuinely appreciate your feedback, as it helps us identify areas where we can improve.

We’re sorry to hear that the response times for your recent claims haven’t met your expectations. We understand how frustrating it can be to wait several days for critical issues like air conditioning or heating to be resolved. While we strive to provide timely service, it’s clear that in your case, we fell short. We’re working closely with our network of contractors to address these delays and to ensure our customers are prioritized appropriately, whether they are using a warranty or not.

Regarding the increase in premiums and deductibles, we understand that rising costs can be frustrating, especially when they don’t seem to align with the service provided. These adjustments were made in response to broader market trends, including inflation and the rising costs of parts and labor, but we recognize that this doesn’t make it any easier. We’re committed to reviewing these concerns to better align our pricing with the value and service we aim to provide.

Thank you again for your candid feedback. We’re committed to making things right and improving our service so that it meets your expectations in the future. - Regards - Michelle

I had Cinch at my last house and they were pretty good. So when I moved to this home, I decided to get Cinch again. Every time that I have to submit a claim, it's been a smooth process. It's very easy to schedule an appointment and look for your contract. You'd go online or you call, and they take the payment. Then they send the contractor out. The customer service reps are pretty knowledgeable and they communicate clearly. I've had some really stellar air conditioning and heating technicians come out. I also had a plumber who was very, very good. So they have pretty stellar contractors. Cinch is great. Their prices are competitive. They're a lot better than American Home Shield. I have American Home Shield on another proprty and I am considering switching over to Cinch on that property as well.

But now that they need to put out some real money, they're dragging their feet. I don't know what the resolution will be. My dishwasher has been declared unfixable. It leaks onto the floor. They kept saying, "We didn't get the paperwork from the service company." I contacted the service company and they said, "We sent the paperwork that same day." So, that has been going on now and "We'll call you back today." But they didn't call me back. So, I'm not happy. The service call was the 21st of August. They should at least acknowledge that they received it. And if it would take them a few days to process it, I understand that, but that was not what they said.

The AC, the first provider wouldn't go on roofs, 2nd wouldn't either, and told us, we should get a portable or get the AC fixed, and it went out because it's hot and your using it (really). Finally the 3rd replaced the capacitor, shortly after went out again, but reset after a few hours, tech came out said a dirty filter, it wasn't. Went out again and told compressor needs replaced, here's where I find out I have to pay 2k in uncovered charges, one of those gotcha moments, they advertise they don't have. I'm not sure any other warranty is better, but I'm willing to take that chance upon renewal, because this outfit doesn't cut it.

My range has not been working properly. I put in a claim and they couldn't dispatch a repair man for many weeks stating that they sent it out to the repair company. I followed up with the repair company multiple times and the confirmed nothing was ever sent in. Finally they followed through and the repair man was quick and knew the part that needed to be replaced. They sent in all the paperwork back to Cinch but Cinch claims they never received it. The customer service person would always respond the same way that they need to call the repair company and tell them where to send it. After multiple follow ups with Cinch, each time with the customer service rep reading the same script and saying they have to call the repair company, I asked to be on the phone at the same time they called. They refused to allow that. I asked for a manager and they refused to put me in touch with a manager. I even followed back up with the repair company and they said they had no record of Cinch reaching out to them to tell them to send in the information again. They lied to my face to continue to drag on and receive additional months of my payment. I have since canceled. Please do not use this company at all. You are not even speaking with them when you call but an outsourced over seas company that is reading a script.

We loved the idea of a home warranty as first time home owners, but we have not had a great experience. Our fridge stopped cooling and cinch got a technician out the next day-which was awesome! But that’s where our excitement ended when they told us that we needed to go through the manufacturer warranty because the fridge was less than a year old. I wish we would have known that before paying the deductible. I read through the fine print and did not see that clause noted. If we were able to talk to the live agent instead of the AI virtual assistant, maybe that would have been avoided?

We went to cinch because the manufacturer told us the repair tech would be scheduled in 3 weeks!!!! Incredibly frustrating if our repair tech had the ability to repair our fridge, but cinch told them not to because the claim was being denied. I guess their home warranty is only good if you have older appliances or if you’re okay with paying a deductible and then waiting 3 week to have the manufacturer repair.

Feeling scammed after turning to a service which is marketed as filling in the gaps when things go wrong. If we hired a repair tech on our own we would have likely paid less than the deductible, and it would have actually gotten repaired. No matter what we are at a loss

I've been with Cinch for several years (previously was Total Protect Home Warranty and was bought by Cinch). In the past, they were great with repair and replacement. Our most recent experience was very different.
They are contracted with Aurora Appliance Repair (AAR) as a service provider for Denver and as far as south as Colorado Springs (I believe). We are in the middle in Monument.
AAR technician did not know what he was doing, was rude, negligent and the worst part...fraudulent. They lied about our washing machine saying I had cut wires (the technician cut wires) and the issue was not normal wear and tear (the issue was a blown gasket and had been leaking water and rusting - confirmed by a different company after first one cut the wires).
Because AAR lied to Cinch, Cinch would not cover replacement. AAR technician lied and I was deemed the liar.
Cinch is contracted with a company that has an F rating with the BBB and nearly 200 one-star reviews between Google and Yelp.
In trying to explain this to a Cinch service representative, they only know how to repeat back a script and were very unhelpful.
For now, I'll stay with Cinch because our history (overall) was very positive.

I hope now and in the future Cinch vets their service providers by, at the very least, checking BBB complaints/reviews.

The previous owner picked Cinch for the home warranty plan, and so far, they've been really cool, so I haven't needed to change them. Because Cinch allows people to submit three different things at the same time, we thought, “Okay. Well, might as well fix all of them.” They were all plumbing stuff and of the three things, two of them got fixed right off the bat. It was really fast. Now, we're just waiting on the third item and it's taking a little longer than expected. The piece that broke, unfortunately, is old enough that it’s not being manufactured anymore. So, the plumber’s having to do circles around, trying to figure out how to fix the thing. The plumber Cinch sent to fix all of them was very professional. He was willing to explain the problem in layman's terms, and that was nice. Each time he's come over, he's been prompt and lets us know, “Hey, I'm gonna be over in so much time.”

Cinch did good, but when I look back, it cost me $600 for the warranty, and I had to pay $200 for a claim to get $1,000 back. With my well, which was under warranty, I still had to pay $2,000 'cause Cinch only covered 1,500 of it. I didn't get a lot of value out of it. So, we decided that we'll just take our chances in the future. If I hadn't had to pay $200 as a minimum service charge every time I had to call them, then we wouldn't have that problem. When I add it up, that $1,500 benefit didn't do much, and then I had to wait four to five weeks for service. I could have called a plumber and had somebody for the next day, if I hadn't had to play the game. Besides that, the techs were good guys and they did what they said they would do. That's fair.

The claims department will then send me to the person that takes money off my card and within 24 hours, I get a call from the contractor. I got All Star Plumbing for a plumbing claim. They had to come out two times for the same job because the job wasn't done correctly. I was telling them where they could snake it from and he told me they couldn't snake it from my property because it's the county's. I said this is my property all the way to the sidewalk. I ended up calling Roto-Rooter and coming out more money and they snaked it. They had it snaked out and done completely correct. I was thinking about changing from Cinch but I've already paid for it so I got them for a whole year.

I'm not gonna say they're not reliable but the companies that they're dealing with do not seem to do the work. For the amount of money I pay, they should cover me a hundred. I needed my icemaker fixed on my refrigerator and they said they don't do icemakers. What am I paying them for? The first time they came out was to do my sink. It was clogged up because the house was made in 1960. They said my water pressure wasn't right and they got to put this PVC valve, which cost me $1100. But did I really need a PVC valve? It's costing me more to have them come out and check on something.

We noticed that our home was not cooling the way that I thought it should, so we put in a service call. I paid my initial service fee and Cinch sent somebody out. We called on a Friday, and we had somebody out here on Monday. He took care of it at no extra cost and everything was working great when he left. Cinch is contracted with Sears for most of their work. I live in a somewhat remote area and didn't know if I would be able to get a Sears check-in as quickly as I could with somebody local. Cinch had no problem with providing me with a local person.

The other call was for my stovetop. I moved from a home that had gas and I'm not used to an electric stove. We noticed some weird things happening. I'm not used to appliances that hook up to the internet and have little screens on them that you can pick stuff. It didn't seem to be working the way I needed it to. We placed that call on a Saturday and the guy was out here Monday to look at it for me. I like the quality of the providers that Cinch is sending. They don't just fix it and walk away. They explain to us what was wrong and how they fixed it. They communicate with us so I've been really happy.

HMS seemed easier and I understand the cost of labor and supplies went up, but I didn't use to have to pay a replacement fee as well. It was that one-time deductible and that was it. I used to be able to talk to people more with HMS. With Cinch, it's automated, and some of the stuff has gotten lost in translation, but I'm overall satisfied. This time, I could tell they got a new contract who they farm out their customer service to. It's harder to understand. I have a hearing impairment. So, it's rather mild. And the individuals that I spoke with, the accents were hard to use. I could tell they have farmed it out to overseas. And if not overseas, the people that they hired have heavy Indian accents.

Six months in, our brand new dishwasher quit working. The company we bought it from said it wasn't a covered item. Come to find out, it was the brain on the dishwasher and it should have been a covered item. I couldn't understand what Cinch said about I had to pay more money. I couldn't understand that they were replacing my washer. And that was where I ran into problems.

Once I understood, it took them three weeks to send me an email or a text message telling me that. That was what I got frustrated with. When I called in, they said, "No. You owe us another $150." And I couldn't understand the words they said. There was a written communication telling me that it was going on. And I'm sitting here with no washer. Because they have already come in and replaced one part and come to find out, they needed to replace the drum. The drum cost more than what I could buy a new washer for. And I couldn't understand because there was no reason. That was my biggest problem. They just kept saying, "You owe us another $150. You owe us another $150." I asked, "Why do I owe you another $150?" It took a long time to get that written communication after the initial. Because even my service, the local service provider was not getting communicated with.

I dealt with the local service provider independently for other items. So, they know who I am. I know who they are. And they're good. Cinch has not been responding to the local service provider either. It took forever for them to respond and what they wanted to give me was not even close to what I had. The GE models that they would send me was smaller capacity than the one that I had. It didn't match. It did not have Wi-Fi capability. Due to my disability, I couldn't hear when the washer went off because it's in my basement. So I use that Wi-Fi, when things are done, and to restart it. I love the Wi-Fi capabilities. But it didn't have it.

The washer they would send me, when I price checked it, was $300 more. They would give me a GE product and I had a Samsung. And on top of it, my niece works at Whirlpool here. So if I couldn't get anything, for that $600, my niece could have got me the top of the line, complete matching set from a Whirlpool for $700. The high-end set. We were looking at it, if we had to, because I will not have a non-matching set.

I told Cinch, "No. I'm not taking this." So, they wrote me a check. I could buy the washer I had from Home Depot less than the check they wrote me for. I went to Home Depot and bought my back washer one model newer. It's one model newer. It was on sale. I paid delivery and tax $575, and they wrote me a check for $604. I went ahead and bought it over the 4th of July weekend knowing I was would get a check, maxed out my credit card. But it took three weeks to get that response to get to that point. Once they said they would do it, they moved quickly, but there was no communication to get to that point.

I still recommend Cinch. My mom just bought a house and I'm trying to convince her to get one because she has appliances that are 10 years old in that house. And she has Electrolux appliances. I said, "Do it. It's worth it." She said, "But then you're so pressured." I said, "No. It's worth it. Because you guys are in your 70s, and if something goes sideways, you don't have the income to go out to buy yourself a new refrigerator." 60 some dollars a month, you have one appliance go down that needs replaced, it has paid for itself.

My Realtor advised me and told me about Cinch. I've had it 2 years, and I'm satisfied. I've done a service request once online and once on the phone, and the process is easy. When I needed someone to come out and check my plumbing, Cinch sent someone out, and I just paid the deposit. They diagnosed the issue, and that was all that was needed. There was a leak, but it wasn't anything to do with plumbing. It was coming through the wall. We had to set up like a splash garden, $5 at Home Depot, and that all stopped. I'll recommend Cinch if anyone asked for it.

We were buying a house and after comparing notes to who my mom had and who I had heard about, Cinch seemed to be the better choice. We've been protected with Cinch for about to be a year now in September. I do not like this. I'm never talking to a person, and they send me to the website which doesn't really say much. They leave work hanging. They tell me they're gonna follow up with me. For instance, my furnace upstairs was too old, and the guy said, “Yeah. Well, they need to figure out what it is you can do or whatnot.” He said he would do that, and nothing came about. I got another email saying something about not being able to work on the system, and I didn't understand that.

They left me hanging, and then that happened twice. Although the people that come and work on it tell us something that we don't know. For instance, they did find a filter on the furnace upstairs, which the gas company people for the house had told us that there wasn't one. The guy from Cinch told us that it was, he found it, and showed us where it was. That was very helpful. So, I let everything else slide. He did explain to me about the furnace being old, and they don't sell the Freon 22 anymore. So I said, “Wait a minute. What am I supposed to do?”

He said, “I don't know. I'm gonna find out for you and blah, blah, blah.” It's just he didn't follow back up with me and let me know what Cinch said. Every time I had any questions, everything took so long. I expected faster service because that's what they say. They said it's gonna be 24 to 48 hours. It took almost two weeks, and the same thing was with my mom because I got her to switch to Cinch. Also, they are charging her more money, and I do think because somebody referred me, I thought maybe it wasn't stated that way because maybe these people got something worked out with somebody. We have the same package and she's paying $50 more than me. It’s odd because her house is much smaller than mine. She told me she had to pay more money too if they gotta come out.

I filed a claim for the heating coil at the bottom of the oven. It lit up like a sparkler and I couldn't use it for a few months. But the cost to have my heating coil replaced was audacious. I paid $200 for my deductible to have a $20 part replaced. But the technician was amazing. He was an old man that looked like he'd been in the industry for half my lifetime. He knew exactly what he was doing. It was a two-minute task and I was super happy because right after he was done, I had blueberry muffins in the oven and I was super excited.

I'm getting ready to renew my subscription with Cinch because my ductwork for AC is having some issues. I'm planning on getting that taken care of but God only knows if it's just gonna be the $200 deductible for the replacement. If my ductwork has to be replaced, the deductible for replacement will be worth it because the ductwork is not gonna be an inexpensive deal.

I also don't like that I have to pay the deductible upfront before I can talk to someone to set up an appointment. Then once a technician takes the job, they don't leave a name and a telephone number in case we have to get back in touch with them. Right now, I'm very upset. I was gonna extend the policy but I changed my mind.

When I first moved in here, the refrigerator which is a Frigidaire wasn't making a noise. Then it started making a noise. I had someone that I know check the refrigerator and they said the motor is getting ready to go. I called Cinch and explained to them that the refrigerator is making a lot of noise. The first technician they sent out was GE which doesn't fix Frigidaire refrigerators. Then they sent out another guy to come out. When he came, he told me the same thing my friend told me and that they're gonna order for Cinch to replace the refrigerator. But Cinch claims they didn't receive his order.

Cinch sent someone out, a kid, but he didn't even check the refrigerator. The fourth guy they sent out yesterday checked. He said, “This refrigerator makes a lot of noise. If the noise continues after I do this, please give me a call.” But he never left a number where I could get back in touch with him. I'm still having the same problem even though he changed the little piece that he said was broken.

As a realtor, I like the peace of mind of home warranties and what they provide to our clients. It also makes sense for me to have that on our home. The rep with Cinch at the time, Teresa, was very proactive. She was at all the events with realtors and was very knowledgeable. If I ever had any issues, she was a phone call away. I went with Cinch and it's been relatively easy. Recently, we submitted a claim for our pool pump. However, there are hiccups with online because you're not talking to a real person. Eliminating the contact with people as opposed to online is not always a good thing. They could not understand even after a phone call that it was the pool pump and not the sump pump. They sent a plumber who was walking around the yard looking for a sump pump. It was a waste of everybody's time.

I also don't like that we can't choose our own service providers because it delays the process. We had a refrigerator claim on an ice maker last year, and they couldn't find someone to service it. After a week, they told us to use whoever we use. If they let us use who we want to use and keep the home warranty in the middle of the discussion, it would make things more streamlined. But other than those, all my other claims have been amazing. They're timely. I make sure that my clients have Cinch Home Warranty in place when they purchase a home. If they don't wanna put it in place, then we usually give it as a settlement gift. They get it for a year and I tell them, “You need to make sure to renew it because if you don't, that's when things start to break.” That always happens that way.

This company replaced my split vent unit 10/7/2022. The unit has never worked properly. This company was formally Total Protect and is now Cinch. Winter of 2023 there was an issue with the heat. Then Summer of 2023 there started to be issues with the air conditioning. Apparently the coil was replaced. There were multiple visits from the service provider. Finally it seemed to function. Then June 2024 the unit was not cooling the house. The unit was leaking all over my floor. Placed a service call. The unit was frozen had to thaw and the tech returned back and the condenser was replaced. Not even 2 days later the unit was not functioning again. Another service call was placed - unable to diagnose. Called Cinch back and they did an "escalation" and someone came out who initially reported there was noting wrong with the unit. After being persistent the tech went back and ordered a blower module. This was July 10. I called Cinch on 7/11 to ensure the part was ordered. It had not been. When I asked to speak to a manager I was transferred to the Escalation Team and spoke to Marie. Marie would not provide the initial of her last name or ID to reference the call. She told me that she could not contact the parts department and I would have to wait for the process to be completed. She could not provide a timeframe - refused to investigate and eventually hung up on me. I called 7/15 for status. The part was apparently ordered on 7/13 with no delivery information. I called on 7/22 and was told there was no tracking on the order and the ETA was 7-10 days. The timeframe had exceeded the ETA. On 7/31 I called - the provider received the part but requested an additional part of July 19th. Cinch's authorization team is working to clarify the request. I decided to get an independent evaluation by a Goodman certified company after contacting the manufacturer directly. I paid 418.50 to have to diagnostic done (which is the service I pay Cinch for). The problem has been diagnosed which since 2023 has not been correctly done by Cinch contractors. This situation has disrupted my work, damaged my floor, inconvenience of utilizing my home based on weather due to the excessive temp in my home. June to August without a resolution. Now Cinch has been provided with all the issues with the unit and has been vague with the plan to repair/replace the items and is refusing the reimbursement of the diagnostic fee I incurred to get a second opinion. I have paid deductibles for service calls, my monthly fees, had to pay for an independent evaluation, time from work for service appointments, and a damaged floor. Most of the summer I have endured June - present without proper air.

The guy came here, he was able to fix the problem, and I was up and running. So, it was wonderful. When they called, they said, "Here's the first day we're available." I already knew it was gonna take a couple of days to get here. It was my refrigerator. So, it wasn't like my air conditioning or something when it's hot where it would be miserable. So, it wasn't that bad having it not working. They scheduled the appointment for the morning, and I was lucky that I was the first one. So, the guy was here on time and he was done in an hour. It was really good.

I've been paying Cinch the same price since I bought the house. For the amount of times I've used it, I've put in a lot of money but then one time, I ended up with a new water heater and I didn't have to pay for it. So, the cost of it is okay. It's not an extreme amount. The coverage is decent. I have to pay the service fee and the cost when the guy comes. It was cheaper than having to go buy a new fridge.

This started out with Sears as the initial tech company. I was on the schedule three times and they never showed up. Then, Chris from Panhandle Heating & Air came out and he was excellent. He told me everything that he was doing, all of the process.

It took a while and when I contacted them, they said they ordered the parts but it was a whole new system that we got put in and we weren't told that there would be another $609 charge. I didn't find out we had to pay that until after the service tech finished and put everything in. They didn't give me the opportunity to say no. They could be upfront if there are going to be additional charges for something because $609 is not a little amount to be stuck with when the techs are leaving. Had I said I don't have it, what would happen? Also, the online tools are not very good. It doesn't take you to where you need to be. It is hard pressed to get a human to talk to.

I have mixed feelings about Cinch. The deductible is not nice to have to pay that each time, but I understand. There was a surcharge that they added on at some point but it's now been lifted. But the warranty is peace of mind. It's easier to call someone to see if they could fix it. The only problem is they don't cover everything in the home. But what they do cover, we take advantage of.

Also, most of the companies that they contract with that I've had an experience with have been great. There was only one company I had an issue with scheduling and I just gave up on that project. Last month, I had a plumbing issue. The tub would not hold water and it was also clogged. I went online, logged into my account, explained both issues, and put a request in for the plumber. I received a call to schedule and the plumber came out and it was fixed. The plumber had been here several times and it's been great. We are on a first name basis. We've used the same company, which is also good.

Cinch was included for the year when I moved into the house nine years ago and I haven't switched. My experience has been good. But they could go out of the circle and find some new service providers. My appliances and things like that are older and the new appliance companies are not able to service older appliances. Other than that, the techs seem to be nice, courteous, and good people.

My old warranty was switched to Cinch. Before they switched, it was $100 and now it's $150. Besides that, the website is easy to use, and the first person that came out for my garbage disposal was fine. I also have someone coming out on Friday for my washer, and they scheduled that appointment with me. On the other hand, the person who's coming on Monday just scheduled the appointment without calling me, so I called them to say that that day is not good for me.

I usually call Cinch to submit my claims then they'll send an email. You can also go on their website and set up what you need someone to come out for. It asks questions on what the problem is and a lot of different little quick questions. Then someone will be calling about coming out. Cinch will also send an email to let you know the company that will be coming out and that that company will eventually call you to see what's the best time for them to come out. So far, the contractors I've had have all been pretty nice and able to answer questions that I might ask. They have been really friendly and were doing their work.

Cinch keeps going up a lot each month, and they have a website problem they need to fix. Every time I would try and use the website to submit a claim, it would give me an error saying that I've already submitted a claim for it and it's ineligible. That's off of multiple claims for things that I've never even gotten service for before. I have to call in and spend an hour trying to get in touch with someone. Ultimately, I can, but it's frustrating when I just wanna click it once and be able to do it. I cycle through a bunch of different phone trees 'cause every phone tree would lead me to submit online, which I couldn't. When someone's trying to submit a claim, it's when they're the most stressed about the problem. However, once I am able to get a claim in, it's very easy and straightforward. I have nothing to complain about. The repair people have all been great.

I wanted a warranty because the house wasn't brand new and I wanted some protection for the air conditioner, the heater, and for the big items. I looked around at different companies and Cinch Home's price was reasonable. I have them for five years now and the experience have been good. I had a claim for the toilet when the seal was gone and it was leaking. I called it in and Cinch Home sent a plumber. The process was very easy. The plumber put a new seal in and since then, things have been good. Having Cinch Home gives me peace of mind that if anything goes wrong with the big items like the fridge or the stove, I don't have to worry. If the air conditioning unit goes kaput, that's $7,000 that I don't have to worry about. I'm a disabled vet and I don't have that kind of money hanging around. Three months a year, I pay that $270 which they take out of my checking account and I'm covered for the rest of the year.

Cinch Home Services doesn't get back. The information is not updated. It's not as good as it was a long time ago. Also, whoever they send claims to would take a while. And they would get back, if it needed repairs. However, one contractor they sent out said there was nothing wrong, but he was incorrect. They had to send back out somebody else. I got a bad coil on my heat pump. The guy previously didn't go in the attic to check it. He just went to the unit, put his gauges on it, and said there was nothing wrong with the unit. So, I called back. I was, "This guy is wrong. There is something wrong with the unit." The guy came out two weeks ago and wrote off what was wrong with the system, and what needed to be replaced. I haven't heard anything. It has been two weeks. Cinch could be a lot more attentive to their customers.

We had a recent claim with our air conditioning unit which we thought was broken completely. At the time when we filed it, I was closer to the end of my pregnancy and we were worried that we weren't gonna have AC when we would bring a newborn baby home. Cinch did everything that they could to make sure that it was prioritized for us for medical emergency. The customer service that they gave us for our air conditioning unit claim was wonderful. I wasn't satisfied with the services that we received in the beginning. We had an issue with the air conditioning system and I tried to get Cinch Home Services to send a technician out but they couldn't get anybody. When we were trying to get somebody to come out, I called but I couldn't get an appointment. The appointment was two weeks out. That was ridiculously crazy because it was so hot out and they said we would have to wait. I paid the deposit that I had to pay and waited for somebody to come out. They were trying to get a technician to come out and finally got somebody to come out. I was here all day long, waiting for them. They never called, never showed up. I had to call Cinch back and it took a while for them to finally get us some services. Somebody came out with which we were satisfied with.

The situation is the area that we live in because we're down in Lexington Park. And one of the technicians explained to me, "They had a hard time getting a technician to come out to this area." They tried. And once we got things resolved, we were satisfied. But I didn't understand and I thought it was the company, but it wasn't. They tried to get some technicians out here. I was satisfied with the services that we received once we were able to get a tech out. They were timely, nice and informative.

I dropped Cinch Home Services. They're horrible. We didn't like them. It took almost three weeks to get a hot water heater, and that was enough. I submit claims the way Cinch would make me, but it didn't work. Because everything online wouldn't work. My phone and computer wouldn't work. I couldn't open the claim. I had to call them on a Monday to open a claim. And they wouldn't believe the plumber and a plumber's agent. They wouldn't believe that they submitted the stuff. It was a ridiculous thing. So I was, "Forget it."

The contractors were good. We've had other ones, but I would drop them anyway. Our water heater gave up the ghost a month before the policy was up. We replaced them anyway. Cinch assigned local plumber. They came over the same day. They submitted the paperwork. And we sat here for over two weeks. So we had no hot water for a long period of time. Under the contract, they have to replace once it's busted. I would tell everybody in the neighborhood not to use Cinch.

I sent the pictures with the claim and Cinch told me they would get back with me to have a technician come out and look at it. But come to find out, they don't have anybody in the surrounding area. They told me I had to find a technician on my own which is crazy. On another claim, they had someone come out. But with the pool, I had to go to a pool place in the town and pay $250 for a technician to come out. The structure wall collapsed which made the liner go out from underneath the structure and caught the metal and ripped. That was due to the high winds.

Cinch came back to tell me after over a month that they don't cover the liner and the structure of the outer part, that they only cover the pump and the heater. I told the rep, "Why didn't you tell me this when I'm paying this extra amount every month when I signed up for this additional coverage?" She said, "It's in the policy. You have to look at it." I had asked if they covered the pool, not just the heater, and they told me yes so I added the pool on the policy. That was within a year after I started with Cinch and I've been paying on this for almost three years. They advised me to try to make a claim on my homeowners insurance which I did but they're not gonna cover it either.

Before, Cinch was good about taking care of stuff I claimed. But now, all of a sudden, they don't wanna help me out. I'm very dissatisfied. This is the pool that I use for my therapy because I have PTSD and my granddaughter comes over and spends time with me in the pool. My quality time just got nixed. Cinch needs to make sure they have service techs that are local. When a customer files a claim, they should not tell the customer they don't have service techs to come out. They should not tell the customer that they have to find a technician on their own. That's why we pay for this home warranty and the extra amount.

Tracy, We're sorry to hear about any misunderstanding of the coverage provided. Each customer is provided with a copy of the terms and conditions of coverage upon enrollment. This information is sent out prior to the effective date of coverage so that each customer can review the coverage to determine whether it will meet their needs prior to payment for the plan. A home warranty plan only covers mechanical failures which occur due to normal wear and tear. Since the failure to your pool was not due to normal wear and tear and was a structural failure, it would not have qualified for coverage. We value your feedback and again regret any confusion regarding coverage. Sincerely, Amanda
