    Water was backing up on my water disposal, so the plumber came out. But it turned out that the problem was not the garbage disposal. It was actually the pipe. The first plumber told me that they would be getting in touch with Cinch to let them know to send another plumber out. But I don't know what happened with that because I had to submit another claim. The claims process was easy. Once you do it online, they will assign you to a plumber. In my case, I reached out to the plumber myself because I didn't get a call back from them. The visit from the first plumber cost me $115, then I paid another $115 for the next plumbing contractor to come out. It also looked like they charged me an additional $100. When the second plumber came, he cleared the problem. Both plumbers were very cordial and didn't leave a mess.

    As soon as I call Cinch Home Services, they pick up. They're fast with it. Technicians get out within a couple of days. Sometimes they get out there the next day, but it depends on how backed up they are. The only problem is when it comes to the air conditioning unit, between Dominion, they give free propane with this. And with the warranty that we have, they charge us for the propane and we need extra propane. That's the only problem. Plus, Dominion charges me 50 and while Cinch charges me 125 just to come to see me. I keep both because when the ac acts up, I got the other one. But still, I'm paying out a lot of money. Price could be better. But they do what they're supposed to do.

    The customer service of Cinch was horrible. I have nothing against people from other countries. We talk to them all the time. But those folks were beyond understanding. There was a huge language barrier. I live in Ohio, Toledo. I was trying to get someone to fix my water heater, and the first place they told me was in Tampa, Florida. I said, "Do you understand how far Ohio is from Florida? I doubt if you're gonna get someone who's gonna drive from Florida to come here." This conversation went on for an hour, and I got hung up on twice. I got a little agitated. I was getting very frustrated. All they wanted to talk about was me paying the deposit before they could assure me they had someone in Toledo, Ohio.

    Numerous times, I asked to speak to a supervisor or get an email or get an address, and that was not allowed. The only person I could talk to was that person. I went around twice with two different people over that. Whoever it was, she wanted to put me on hold. I said, "Do not put me on hold, because you won't come back." I said, "You go find out what you need to find, set the phone down, put the headset down, and come back to me."

    She let me wait a really long time and came back with the same answer, which was I have to pay the deposit. So I paid the deposit and I used a credit card. I used to work at Chase, so I know that if they didn't come through, I could just dispute the charge and get my money back. I gave them the money, then they gave me a place here in Toledo. The guy came out. He was very nice and explained to me what I needed. He was very prompt, put little things on his shoes. Just he was excellent.

    We've gone in our second year with Cinch and we've had one experience where everything was taken care of very professionally and it was done very well. The techs did everything they said they'd do and the time they said they would do it and it was great. It was a water pressure valve that started leaking in the garage and he came and looked at it. He said, "We can't rebuild this. We have replaced it." They called, we get the part, and it was available the next day. They came back and put it in and installed it. I'm completely satisfied and secure with Cinch.

    Cinch has a user-friendly claims submission process. I deal with computers all day. So, the process is not bad for me. We had to use them for the AC unit and the water heater. Those are major things and both contractors that we had were good. They were very professional and mindful at the same time. We do have a dog. The guy was mindful that he got to give me a minute to put my dog up. So, he was mindful of the environment of my home and patient as well because he had to wait. I work from home and he couldn't make noise at that moment.

    I stuck with Cinch because the first time I filed a claim, it was effortless. Very easy online or even with an agent. The website is user-friendly. However, some of the contractors will try to penny pinch for modifications. Like when I got my furnace repaired, they said it would be $1,600. I might as well buy a new furnace. But Cinch talked to them and I said, "You're not going to charge for that amount." They made a counteroffer and lowered it to 600. But I still paid out of pocket.

    Other than that, Cinch is very reliable and affordable.

    Our experience with Cinch is usually, pretty good. The most frustrating thing is if you're calling to put in a claim, it can take 20 minutes for them to pick up the phone and it's not a one-time, it's all the time. You can do the claims online, but there's a lot of information that you wanna give about the situation that necessarily you can't do online. An example of that is if I know a plumber that knows my house intimately well who's on the Cinch list of verified people, and that's who I want if I have a plumbing issue, if I go online, I don't have the ability to do that. They just assign somebody. So, what I have to do is I get the claim number, then I have to call my plumber, give him the claim number, then he's gotta wait on the phone to get ahold of Cinch so he can pump the claim and get the claim. So, that's pretty frustrating.

    We've been with HMS, which is now Cinch, for about 10 years. I switched to another company for three years. I was disappointed with that, and I went back to HMS, which is now Cinch. This upcharge thing with Cinch is absolutely ridiculous. I understand prices go up, so they changed the deductible. I used to have a $50 deductible, then it went to $100 deductible. Now, it's 125 deductible and what they did, which is absolutely wrong, is they now charge you with $15 surcharge because gas prices went up. When I talked to the technicians that come, they don't get those $15. They weren't even aware of it. It's just another way for Cinch to pocket the money, and that's terrible.

    We are pleased when we finally get this a claim rolling, how it gets taken care of. In the past, I have a brand-new stove because they couldn't fix some problems with it, and that's the guarantee of things. That's changed. If they can't fix and it was coming in at a certain amount of time, Cinch will replace your appliance to a point. They give you a certain amount of money, and it was well worth it because I got a new stove out of it. We recommend to our buyers and to our sellers HMS, which is now Cinch.

    Every year, I think that maybe we shouldn't use Cinch. But we wind up needing it so it comes in handy. We got a whole new dishwasher last year because ours broke and Cinch covered the cost of that. Techs fixed our refrigerator too. They had to put a new fan in the back of the refrigerator as it wasn't getting cold. The guy told me it was normally a $500 job but our deductible was only 150. The people that come out are good. The only issue is the scheduling as it's an all-day thing. But we make it work.

    The only time Cinch wasn't worth it was with our disposal. We were shucking oysters and something got stuck in the disposal. The guy that came out and I were like, “Yeah this is like a $30 job and my deductible or my copay was 150.” I probably should have just called the plumber down the street and they would have done it. That aside, Cinch normally makes sense and we're happy with everything.

    I submitted a claim to Cinch for my microwave not too long ago but they couldn’t fix it and they sent me a check to replace it. The interaction between me and the tech was okay but he didn’t take the time to look. I told him what it was and whatever he thought it was, it must not have been it because he claimed he was ordering the parts. But I got an email from Cinch saying the part was obsolete at this point and they couldn’t get it. In the past, I've not had any issues where Cinch couldn’t come out. Probably the last one I had was my washer, which was several years ago, and that was fixed.

    Over the years, Cinch had become more automated. They have allowed me to file a claim through the automated system without having to engage a physical body. I could place the claim, know it's placed, got a confirmation number without having to wait it online to talk to somebody. And when I needed to talk to somebody, I could talk to somebody about a specific issue.

    I recently had a furnace issue, and that was done seamlessly. I did the ticket online, I filled out the questionnaire, as far as where it's located and what the issue was. They gave me a local provider, and I talked to them. They came out and went through the process of ordering the part and fixing it. The only concern is my deductible has continued to increase. But the people that come to fix the items are reputable companies that are local to your area. I had people going up in unmarked cars. But that didn't last long.

    The gentleman they sent to do the repair for the range hood was fine. But getting the right person to get the repair scheduled was a real pain. I got transferred four different times. Whoever answered thought I needed somebody else's help and it was very frustrating. But once I got to the right person, it was good. The tech was very nice and he resolved the issue quickly. There was no mess and no fuss. When you buy a house you really need a warranty. So far, it has been a relief to have Cinch.

    I called Cinch when our furnace stopped working. They were fast. It was super easy to do the work order. We had someone out there and fixed our furnace within that day. Her name was Casey.     The people that fixed my air conditioning were amazing. But the people that came and fixed my furnace, I wasn't thrilled. I was appreciative for the fact that they came because I have a disabled husband. I had no heat in November. The first service provider that they called to come said, "You live too far away." The second one they sent came out, looked and said, "This is propane. We don't service propane." But I told the people that this is what I had. I had propane. I needed heat.

    Cinch Home Services called a third contractor and they said, "Okay. We could do this." It went back and forth. They ordered the furnace but ordered the wrong one. When I called, I was expecting the furnace on a particular day. I said, "What time are they coming?" They said, “We don't have the furnace.” "What do you mean?" "We had to reorder it. We ordered the wrong one."

    I called the provider and said, "I got to get heat for my husband." He understood. They did all that they could to ensure that I had heat right away. He was an hour away from where I live. He was down in Hackensack. He came up and said, "I could do this for you." I said, "Great." He came in and did it. I paid for it out of pocket because I needed the furnace. The guy was amazing.

    However, we found out that I needed a permit. And it was back and forth. While they were putting the furnace in, they couldn't restart the hot water heater. They had to change the hot water heater. So, I had to go out and purchase another hot water heater at my expense for them to put in. Also, they found that the main valve tubing wasn't working right. So, they shut another valve. But one of the helpers turned the valve the wrong way. I had a big flood in my kitchen. I had to get somebody in here to replace the ceiling in my kitchen. It was a disaster.

    They told me not to worry. I said, "If I get inspected by the Home Association, it's all on you, because I didn't know I needed a permit. I didn't know what I was supposed to do. You were supposed to come back and fix it and you didn't." I'm still waiting. This is mid-February. The follow through wasn't good. But they came out on a weekend, when it was freezing. They did everything they could on a Sunday to make sure that I had heat for my husband. Also, I can call Cinch and get help inexpensively.

    The workmen Cinch provides are always very knowledgeable and courteous. They always answered everything I needed to know. We've been satisfied with their response.     I wasn't real happy when we needed our dryer repaired. The buzzer is not working so I don't know when the clothes were getting dry and it was overheating. Also, it won't turn on sometimes. Cinch was gonna send Sears but Sears lied and said that they came and nobody was home. My husband has been working from home ever since the lockdown in 2020 and I had stayed home and sat at my dining room table for 12 hours waiting for them to get there.

    Cinch sent somebody else and these guys did something to get the dryer working. I asked if the buzzer was working and they whispered something to each other and they said it was not covered under my warranty. I thought that getting the dryer working in its proper working condition was what was covered under the warranty. I wasn't real happy with that because like I can never tell when the clothes are dry. Plus, it still gets pretty warm. I have to put it on the colored setting so that it doesn't get too hot.

    The people we had to replace the water heater years ago was great. I didn't think we should have had to pay the extra 300 and something dollars, but it was a nice, big, new water heater. Also, they did the heating and air and those people were good except they had to put in a new one and we had to pay 1,200 for that. I don't know whether we really had to pay that or not. We just paid it because they said we had to. But we got a whole new heating and air system, so I figured that amount wasn't outrageous if we had to replace it with no warranty. But we just had our garage door opener replaced and they were great. The tech didn't charge anything extra and he put a new garage door opener in there.

    I think we've gotten our money's worth. I'm not sure that I 100% can trust all of the people they have signed up to come out and do work because I definitely did not trust those people doing the dryer. But overall, we're happy with it.

    Cinch's service and what they provide is good because it took care of my family and it got us what we needed. I had a condenser unit go out on my AC. It was summer and my wife was pregnant at the time. Cinch was able to get somebody out here within the next day and get the AC running, which really helped. I really appreciated that.

    The second experience I had was during the cold weather here recently. My water heater went out and Cinch covered it. They initially set us up with a plumbing service that was in the area, we paid our deposit, and they gave us an appointment. But every review we saw on that plumber was horrible. I called Cinch and they set us up with another individual. They submitted an appointment with a top service company. When I looked at their reviews, they were number one in the area -- good service, works with people. I give them a thumbs up because they provided another option and they took care of it for us within a good amount of time.

    The contractor worked with us to get the units replaced and get everything done with the insurance and within a speedy amount of time. They told us what Cinch covered and worked within our budget. I was happy with that. They were also able to get us temporarily going with hot water until they could get our unit replaced. When it comes to major issues, Cinch takes care of us and I appreciate that. The only thing I can see them changing is maybe screening their contractor a little better.

    The service has a good value. The work got done well. We were given a time and I couldn't make it to them. They had to reschedule on us. But the repairman who came was very capable and resolved it that day. The only issue I had was with the first claim. The first contractor was gonna be unable to show up for two weeks for our warranty work on our furnace. I also wish Cinch would let me bundle a claim. If I have a contractor there, I wish I could get them scheduled to do all the work at one time. I had the same contractor who was doing the heater and water heater. They had to come back on separate trips because their scheduling doesn't allow you to put a common claim together.

    Nowadays, everything is expensive. But I'd still rather have Cinch because we have used them a few times. The house is starting to get old. We've replaced every piece of equipment in this house. The garbage disposal was the last thing. It went great. The guy was nice and efficient. The quality and the way companies do their business is the most important thing. They come right out, they get what they need. In and out and that's what I like. I'd rather pay high dollar and get that. I'm happy with the company. They do what they say they're gonna do.

    One problem I had with them, when they replaced my outdoor original AC units, a heat pump, they sent a guy that didn't know what he was doing. And he even admitted, "I do home improvements. I don't do HVAC." And I said, "Then why are you here?" We had nothing but trouble. We didn't get heat, we couldn't get AC. It was just blowing air 24 hours a day. And he came back and finally got it right. I told him that what he was putting outside did not match the inside. I said, "No. Outside is the TXV valve. Inside as the piston valve." "No, you'll be fine." We weren't. It took them a year to get it straightened.

    The next problem we had, that outdoor unit went up because it was small. It was supposed to be two and a half tons, and it was, but it was small and not efficient. So, the outdoor unit went out, then the indoor unit went out. And when they went to send that guy, I said, "He's not allowed on the property. I don't want him here." They sent Smith & Sons. Those guys were great. The tech said, "I'm gonna be honest with you. This is an old system from '89. You need everything new." So, we just bit the bullet and said, "Okay, just put it all in." I even helped him do the work because he was by himself. And when he couldn't get it to be cold in the summer and be hot in the winter, I said, "Okay, something's not right here." So, we got it straightened out. Cinch took care of it and I'm happy with it.

    The biggest benefit of having Cinch is the accessibility of it -- knowing that if something does go wrong and I can't fix it, they're gonna be there.     When you call in, you get an automated system. It got all screwed up when I was calling in about my water heater. I finally got ahold of a live person and Cinch sent a person out. But they wouldn't replace my water heater. It was 20 years old and rusty. You could see the sides where it had leaked around it. The guy that came out said, "Without seeing leakage, we can't do anything."

    I've had some good results with Cinch but a lot of times what happens is you get called into the fine print. They said, "We'll replace the tank but it doesn't cover labor." What good is the protection if it leads you having to pay something? If it's replacing my water tank, it should replace my hot water heater completely. I also wanted them to come out and check my air conditioning. They assigned a person to come out and said, "Take a picture of your decal on your air conditioner and text it to them." I did. The repairman said he'd be out and gave a date but never showed up. I called him back and he gave me some wine and song and dance. He did this a couple of times and never came back. I called Cinch up and told the story about the repairman never coming. I also asked for them to refund my $125.

    Cinch has taken real good care of me. I’m real pleased with them. I just call them and they handle the rest. Then the service man will call and set up a time to come out and take a look at the issue. If he has to order a part, then he'll do that. When my furnace was out, the first tech that came out wasn't very knowledgeable. But he was nice and real honest. I couldn't have been happier with him, even though he couldn't fix my problems. He said it was above his head so he turned it back over to Cinch. That was when they sent Brent out from Sherwood Heat and Air. He did an excellent job. He kept me informed and said, “Okay. So, an order, they said it'd be here in three days or whatever. And as soon as it comes in, I will be there.” Then I got information that morning that the part was in and he was there by 1 o'clock installing it. The lady that answered the phone was also really awesome.

    I have made the mistake of having a home warranty policy with this company now for five years, previously the company name was just Long&Foster insurance. I thought I was being a proactive home owner and obtaining protection against costly repairs by paying an annual policy premium. I was however incorrect. Although this company claims to cover a wide range of repairs and replacements, in actuality their business model is to collect an annual premium and then charge an additional deductible for every service call, to then only refuse to perform any service at all with, for lack of a better word, laughable reasons. Just a few of many many examples come to mind. 2 years ago the ceiling fan in my family room stopped working. This is an item that is supposedly covered in my Cinch home warranty. I called, scheduled an appointment, and paid a $125.00 deductible for someone to come out and repair and or replace the ceiling fan. Someone did arrive at the scheduled time. Confirmed that the ceiling fan was not working, however then said because the fan was in my family room with vaulted ceilings that it was too high in the air for him to replace, and refused to do anything, simply leaving with nothing accomplished. I of course followed up with Cinch on this, they did nothing, and I still have the same broken ceiling fan in my family room to this day (see attached photo). In another example, my 2nd floor heat pump stopped working this past summer. This is another item that is supposedly covered by my warranty, for which I pay an annual premium. I again called, scheduled an appointment, and paid another $125.00 deductible for someone to come out and repair/replace the heat pump. Someone arrived at the scheduled time, however after 5 minutes stated that the attic unit would need to be replaced but refused to do it, because one, it was too hot in the attic, and two he would not make enough money to do it, and it wasn't worth it to him. He continued by stating that no other company would do it either, and simply left again with nothing being accomplished. There was zero follow up with Cinch and to this very day, I still have a non-functional 2nd floor unit. Then there is today. My furnace stopped working and began leaking oil. This is once again an item that is supposedly covered by my warranty. I called, made a service appointment and this time paid a $165.00 deductible for someone to come out and repair/replace the item. Someone again arrived at the scheduled time, however after 10 seconds and never laying a finger on the unit, went to his truck, came back a few minutes later and said this wasn't covered, and left. I of course wasted my time by calling Cinch again. For the first hour, the representative told me that the claim was declined, because after allowing the service tech access to my home, and walking him to the basement, to of course show him the furnace, I then removed the cover plate for the tech, so he could access the interior of the furnace (photo supplied). The rep stated that the claim was being denied because I touched the furnace!! After, of course, disbelief at what I was hearing, I spent more time on the phone with whom I was told was a supervisor, only to receive a new story now as to why the claim was being declined. As previously mentioned the furnace stopped working and was leaking oil. To avoid 200 galloons of oil leaking and spilling all over the basement of my home, I of course disconnected the oil line on the furnace. The Cinch rep now claimed that because I disconnected the oil line(for obvious safety purposes) that the furnace had now been "disassembled" and not eligible for service (see photo of alleged "disassembled" furnace). Of course, further disbelief at what I was hearing. Additionally they refused to refund the deductible for no service actually being rendered, as they had in all previous examples mentioned. I finally came to my senses and cancelled my Cinch home warranty. Here I am 5 years into owning this home. I have paid Cinch roughly $5,000 in annual premiums and by my estimations another $1,500 in deductible payments, and all I have to show for it, is a broken fan, heat pump and furnace. I hope others can learn from the knowledge I have gained the hard way, and stay far far away from this company. They are not here to provide a service, but to take advantage of home owner's that believe they are doing themselves a financial favor by trying to protect themselves from costly home repairs. This is not the way do it. Please research other companies and stay away from this one, unless you want to be left with empty pockets and broken home components. Take care.

    Cinch is a good service to have. They cover a lot in the house. I've signed up online for the contractor to come out. Cinch told me to confirm with the company, which I did, and that company gave me different availabilities, which was sooner than what Cinch said. The contractor came out the next day, the day they said they would.

    I was double covered for the issue. So, the contractor didn't have to finish the repair, but they came out and identified the issue. And they did a temporary repair, because they said they had to contact Cinch to get our information to complete the repair. That was on my HVAC. I also have a warranty with the power company. So, they also came out and they fixed it, so I didn't have to follow up for Cinch's contractor.

    We submitted a claim not long ago and the process was pretty simple. I filed it using the online portal and the people who were assigned to me contacted me in order to schedule a time. The techs they sent out were very helpful and the drain is now fixed. Last year, we called to get our dryer repaired and that was similarly a positive experience. I'm pretty happy with Cinch but I have one complaint about billing and renewing the policy. There is no way on the portal to just enter information to continue my policy. There was a whole situation where we thought it was going to auto-renew but I received a call from a representative to renew my policy because it had expired. When I received the call, I was kind of skeptical and I had to confirm that that person was even a Cinch representative. We had attempted to just put our information in so we could set our policy on auto renew but that didn't happen.

    The toilet was blocked up. We did the claim online with Cinch. The problem was that this thing occurred on Sunday. So I had to wait till Monday. But everything worked out okay.     The customer service with Cinch is excellent, except, it's extremely hard to understand some of them. The technicians are also excellent. There was just one who was extremely rude. I didn't say anything because it was the fourth time a technician was coming out to my furnace. There had been a leak somewhere. There were two leaks, one in the furnace itself which is dangerous, and then one with the piping. He came and it was like there was nothing wrong. I said, "Let me show you." I showed him and he got frustrated and said, "Well, that's an easy fix. I don't know why I'm here.” He did fix it. Otherwise, the rest of them were really good.

    We like Cinch. We used them once and they did a great job. Their contractor repaired my burner. The claim process was a little mind-boggling at first because I don't use the computer. For me to book it online was kind of weird. But we got it taken care of and they came promptly. They did what they needed to do. They ordered the part we needed and came back promptly. The only thing I had a problem with was they kept sending me a message telling me to schedule my return service though I had already done that.

    I had someone come out and check the furnace. He gave me three different things that were wrong with the furnace for a total of $1,400. I called Cinch and they sent me their preferred HVAC company. They came here, looked at it, adjusted something, and nothing else was wrong. Two days later, the heat went off on the house. I called Cinch, and they got ahold of that same company. They came back out here, and there was an adjustment that needed to be made. It had to do with something with the air temperature outside that cooled rapidly and caused some issue with cold air coming into the furnace too quickly. I was very pleased with the company. I didn't appreciate paying $200, but I understand that a trip charge is gonna cost me 100 bucks, regardless. But both times, the company that Cinch chose was great. I was happy with the end result. Cinch gives me peace of mind moving into a new house with a lot of things, that there's somebody there that's got my back. I'm happy with that.

    Submitting a claim to Cinch is okay but I don't love it. The last time I went to submit a claim was for my washer leaking. The online process to do it was very glitchy and I had to resubmit three times. I got billed three times total and two times it got reversed immediately. After I make a claim, I normally know the name of the company and the day they will be coming. That's another thing that I don't love because it's normally an entire day's range, which makes it very difficult to schedule myself around it. But the last time I submitted a claim, I was able to pick the day the techs were coming so that was really nice.

    So far, I submitted two claims, one of which was an absolutely terrible thing that I almost canceled my contract with Cinch. My issue was with a dishwasher and there was a runaround that took almost six months. The contractor that was hired came out and said it was some sort of stupid thing where it had something to do with a line in the garbage disposal. They refused to come back out when that did not fix the issue. I ended up having a new dishwasher ordered by Cinch because there was no saving that dishwasher. Somebody came to install the new dishwasher and he left the new one in the middle of my kitchen because they didn't bring along a wrench to even unhook the old one from the waterline and they couldn't get anybody to come out and install it.

    The good thing was Cinch wrote me a check and told me to find somebody locally as they could not do the job. This was after two different contractors had come to check on the dishwasher in the first place. At the end of the day, I did get a dishwasher and my dishwasher has been running great ever since. But it was an awful experience. Frustrating would be an understatement. I felt like it was six months that I went without a dishwasher. It was a long time to not have a dishwasher with multiple kids and trying to keep up with the dishes.

    Most recently, I had an issue with my washer and it was an overall very smooth and easy service. The contractor was Sears and they were great. I've been with Cinch for two years since I bought my house. In general, I like having home warranties because they've always done really well. Cinch, overall, is pretty good. While I've had ups and downs, I know my neighbors have had really good service with them also.

    We had two claims with Cinch. One was the expansion tank needed to be replaced and the contractor came out and replaced it. The other one was a refrigerator that the ice maker wasn't working. Someone came out and checked that. They said that there wasn't anything wrong. It just needed a filter. They said that they don't put a filter in. They told us to go on Amazon and get a filter. We got a filter and put it in. But it still wasn't working. I called them again and they had someone else come out and found out that the filter was put in incorrectly. When I made the claims, it wasn't hard to get in contact with them. It was hard getting them back again.

    With the refrigerator, I asked them to give me 45 minutes' notice because I was coming from across town, which would take at least 45 minutes to get there. The first time the guy came for the refrigerator, we missed each other. Then they came back. I kept asking them, “Can you please let me know ahead of time?” They said, "It's 9:00 to 5:00." But they notified me at 8 o'clock in the morning.

    Cinch's service goes up and down. The latest agent that I've had has been Two Brothers Gas and Electric and that did not go really well. The gas heater needed to be replaced, so I put in the call to Cinch and got Two Brothers up here in Fairfax County, Virginia. I already paid the $140 but when I set up the appointment, I was presented with a bill for $630. It listed permits, removal of the water heater, and other items. I asked Two Brothers to send the information on this because it was a fair amount of money, but I got really no help from them at all.

    They installed the new unit and were supposed to come back and remove the old one. There was a pan and there was something else they bought. So, I asked them if they could give me some information on how much it cost and about the county certification they were supposed to get. They wouldn't give me anything, so that was a disappointment and I was really about to write Cinch about this. But I don't blame Cinch for this. Other than that, I had the dishwasher replaced where Cinch had a bad repairman out and it took five months to get things worked out. So, the last two claims I've had with Cinch got complicated. But many things have gone very well.

    All support that we've been getting from Cinch Home Services have been great. However, on my account, I can't see any history of my past claims on their website. The exact same thing broke that broke last time I filed a claim. It’s not I don't have any claims, but I do. The very last claim I had was for a plumbing issue. They ended up having to replace the two water supply line valves where you turn the water on and off the washer, because they were leaking. The tech was wonderful.     My most recent claim was for a gas clothes dryer and Cinch called to have a serviceman from the area come by and look at it. The tech came and said the unit we had was too old to get the part that was needed so they would replace it. They contacted me from the home company saying that they would replace it with this model if that was okay. We said yes and they had a fella come and install the new dryer. We had been without a dryer for quite a while at that point and I asked if there was any way we could get it a little quicker. They said I can contact someone on my own. I did that and I paid him.

    Somebody from Cinch said they would try to reimburse me for what I paid. First off, they said they would give me $100 and another one said they'd pay 125. I got a check and I deposited it. The next day, I got a second check with a $9 difference. I tried to get in touch with somebody and I explained it. They suggested that I could just send it back, which I did. That was a couple of weeks ago now. It shouldn't be double paid. But other than that, it went well. I've been very happy with the company since 2007. We've had a furnace, an air conditioning, another dryer, and a microwave replaced and two hot water tanks replaced and other things worked on. Every time, it's been a good experience.

    I submitted two claims with Cinch. The first time, it was very laborious trying to get through the phone tree. Their 800 number is very easy to contact but their automated system is very difficult. I was led down a cul-de-sac but I wasn't able to talk to a representative. The internet wasn't very helpful. It was quite a problem but eventually, we got it. Once I was able to talk with somebody, the problem was solved rather quickly. In both cases, they were plumbing problems. I didn't have any contact directly with anybody from Cinch until after the second appointment was scheduled. Then a sales person called me to want me to renew my coverage in January when it was not set to expire until April 4th. I didn't appreciate that very much. I told the salesperson I'll address that when it's about to expire in April. Other than those, everything about Cinch is terrific.

    I've had about three claims over seven years with Cinch. Their technicians are doing good. I had one situation which was just a one-off of a new employee that didn't know what he was doing at all. But after I asked him a couple of questions and said, "Why don't we just reschedule? You get somebody else to come here," they were able to figure it out. I would recommend Cinch. I know a lot of people have negative experiences with a business like that. But overall, I haven't had that back and forth with Cinch such as "Hey, we don't cover that. We don't pay for that. We need this documentation."     My stove pilot kept going out. I would come home and have a house full of gas. The tech tried to do what he could do. He said he had to get a couple of parts but Cinch couldn't get them. So, they wound up giving me a check to find another unit. The whole claim process took over a month and it was hard to get in touch with them. No one got back to me 'cause I was calling the wrong people. The lady that had me to get it, she said, "Well, it's under a different name." and I was like, "Well, who knows that?"

    I finally got in touch with the right people. The guy who was on the phone, even though he had an accent, I could understand him. He was helpful and he told me what he was gonna do. I was really happy with his service. A week or two later, they sent me a check in the mail. It wasn't a decent amount but it wasn't enough. My stove had to be 36 inches and those cost $3,500. Other than that, it's fine. I was just grateful they sent me a check.

    I made a claim on the control panel on the front of the stove. A Sears representative came out, reviewed the stove, sent the information in and I was sent an email offering to a cash buyout for the stove to be replaced. They provided a replacement stove also if I chose that. I chose the cash payout. It all went smoothly and was great. I like that with having Cinch, I've got someone in my corner if something breaks that is covered. We had a company from Tuscaloosa that replaced our upstairs heating and air unit that did a poor job and had to come back out and correct their mistake. But other than that, it's all been positive.

    Cinch seemed to be something that would be economical as far as addressing my needs around the house as far as repairs.     Cinch has been great. They do their job. They give me a number of somebody I can call right away to have something fixed. A repairman was out yesterday. My refrigerator was having a problem with water not working on my refrigerator door. He called Cinch to get information regarding the part to see if it was covered. It was a very nice guy on Cinch's side that said yes, the part was covered. They're ordering a part and they'll be back out. I used to use the TotalProtect, and they were always great. It's just a little bit different because now, you pay upfront.

    I had a claim and submitting it online was relatively easy. But I was a little alarmed at the additional surcharge that's now being applied. That was not anywhere in the documents that I had when I signed for the warranty. That was the only downside but other than that, the contractor who came out was thorough and polite. My furnace had stopped working and the temperature dropped down to 55 degrees in my house. They checked that out and ensured that it was working appropriately.     The experience with Cinch has been good but I've had some issues. This last time was fine but the previous time when there was an issue with my dryer, I wasn't so happy about it. The contractor was bad and part of it is maybe Indiana. But I've had issues even getting a contractor. For my hot water heater, that was one that I wasn't particularly happy with. Cinch couldn't find me a contractor and they wouldn't let me get my own for a while so it extended my period without a hot water heater for much longer than was feasible for a living. Cinch doesn't have tons of contractors in my area. Most of the contractors have to come from Indianapolis and they're crappy about it sometimes. So, to make Cinch competitive in my area, they need to have more options and better quality contractors.

    Cinch has worked out well sometimes for me and it's been helpful for some instances. It used to be more helpful but sometimes it doesn't work out and I get frustrated with the experience. Especially with the stuff that Cinch decides to cover or not arbitrarily. It has helped me do big replacements, like a furnace, a hot water heater. But a lot of the frustrations I have are with the contractors that come through Cinch. I've received disrespect from some of the contractors and Cinch hasn't allowed me to change the contractors. And so, Cinch needs to do more with customer support and trusting the customer and allowing a little more flexibility.

    Everything is automated and online, and I hate the automated system. I would rather talk to a person when I call in. But I've always been satisfied with the techs that Cinch sends out. A couple of times, it took longer than I wanted, but it still wasn't extremely long before they responded. Cinch sent the name of the company, Joe Blow Plumbing, and I had to call the to make an appointment. Years ago, Cinch would say that they’re gonna send Joe Blow Plumbing, make the appointment with them and tell you when. But now, you have to call the company themselves and set up an appointment. And that's where the delay comes sometimes because they don't always answer immediately. You have to wait for them to call you back.

    About a year and a half ago, Cinch had replaced the AC unit. Evidently, the original guy that installed it, did it wrong and burned up some contacts according to the air condition guy this time. This guy came out and fixed everything and did some rewiring and everything seems to be working fine now. Overall, everything's usually pretty good if my claim is something major. I've been with Cinch for about 20 years and for the air conditioner, we had to wait for it to be sent in and ordered and that may have taken three weeks back two years ago. Also, the deposit keeps going up. Originally they were $35, and now, it's up to 125. Other than that, I'm happy with the service.

    THIS IS AN UPDATED REVIEW. After posting my original review and my wife to social media about our experience. Cinch reached out to us about the issue. I get that they have to ascertain beyond a reasonable doubt that an item is beyond repair but to even say a 19-year old HVAC is worth salvaging is irresponsible. BUT... Cinch made good on their terms and reimbursed us for the replacement cost of the new unit (the terms were clear that they did not pay for labor and we understand that). They did it quickly after case management understood the complexity of our issue with the rooftop unit since none of the providers on their list were able to do the job.

    DO NOT USE CINCH!!! UNPROFESSIONAL AND NOT WORTH THE STRESS!!!

    We stupidly believed Cinch was an honest company but now realize that they are both sub-standard and dishonest.

    Our heat pump and condenser abruptly broke down. We initiated a claim on a Thursday night in accordance with procedure and paid our deductible. Cinch issued a service provider who made an appointment for Friday but then cancelled right before the appointment window. We contacted Cinch who gave us another who said they couldn’t service our unit. We live in a hi-rise condo and the condenser is on the roof, and because of the positioning, smaller companies cannot service it. A third company was issued and they couldn’t do it either.

    A fourth company was called and they came on Saturday and diagnosed that it had to be replaced but then reported to Cinch on Monday that they couldn’t do the job either. A fifth company claimed they could do it, then missed their Tuesday appointment and then never picked up the phone or contacted us back.

    By Wednesday, with no heat in our condo we started asking for escalation. Cinch keeps skirting around trying to “contact providers on their list” who might be able to do the job. They even tried to have us go back to provider #4 saying they could do it after #4 was the one who said they couldn’t.

    On Wednesday I called around and got 2 well rated companies to come in within 2 hours and provide estimates. They both told me what I suspected all along - that warranty companies only get low ball, low cost providers who can’t do complicated jobs anyway - good for handling appliances, not HVAC, plumbing or electrical.

    By Thursday, no heat still, Cinch is still going in circles. Our contract clearly says that if they are unable to find an in-network provider that they would offer to use an out-of-network one but at no point have they ever mentioned that possibility. And one customer service agent says that in either case, they would only pay $1500 of the work anyway. Anyone who has ever done this knows that a full HVAC is at minimum $5000-6000 or more plus labor.

    But they sure took care of canceling our claim super quick. They’d rather kick it under a rug and make it seem like they handled the issue.

    We made sure they knew that we had a 7-year old child in the apartment. They certainly didn’t care.

    I did a separate lookup across Google, Yelp and Trustpilot of the 5 providers and the best rating of them was 2.5 (except for #5 who “somehow” has a 5 star rating on Thumbtack but has zero presence anywhere else).

    And just a side note - I spent approx 7 hours on calls with Cinch and their providers. I lost almost as much pay handling it than they would’ve paid in the end. Now having to pay the full amount, it’s worth the no stress professionalism that the out of network provider is giving me.

    Cinch is completely unprofessional and a complete waste of time and money. If you’re absolutely sure you want a warranty provider, DO NOT GET CINCH - THEY SUCK AND THEY JUST DUPE YOU AND STEAL YOUR MONEY!!!

    This company is a big front! Don't waste your time and money with them. When it's time for them to hold up their end of the contract they will give you the run around, transfer you from department to department along with their horrible customer service agent's who speak terrible English if they see fit to just hang up on you they will. If you don't get hung up on you may experience the stall tactics which ultimately will frustrate you even more! Picture having no heat in the middle of winter and they tell you that it could take up to 20 days for them to receive your part (1 week after submitting problem) but no guarantee, this is all due to them looking for the cheapest part available and then they will mail the part to the assigned company and then you will be responsible for setting up your own appointment with the assigned company! Not to mention you'll need to pay your deductible before knowing any of this is going to occur along with a surcharge to just file a claim. If you don't believe this review Google the companies reviews and look at how many 1 star rating's they have accrued.

    My garage door quit working here and I used Cinch for that. I called on a Saturday. Somebody called me back that weekend. They were out here Monday morning. They had the part on the truck and they got it going. They replaced the spring which wasn't broken, but it was 15 years old and it could go any time. They did some adjustments to it that weren't under the warranty while they were here. It worked out well.

    We also had a claim on a refrigerator here a year ago and that was a nightmare. The serviceman said that they wanna use their parts, so they had to order the parts somewhere from their warehouse somewhere back east. And it took forever to get the parts. When the parts came, we had to call the guy. He came back and installed it. He said he could've gotten those parts right here in town for just a few dollars at Appliance Warehouse. But they like to use their own parts. So, I wasn't too impressed with that.

    Cinch has been good. We've had heating and cooling and stove claims with them. The process has changed from when we first did it. When I first did it, I called them and it was a pain because they would call somebody then schedule it. Now, it's straightforward as far as being able to log in and open a request. It could have some improvement though. One of the times, they referred us to contact somebody who didn't service our area. We had to play ring around the rosie. I had to keep calling back to try to get them to find somebody that could come to our section of the city.

I told him what was wrong with it before they came. He took the part out then he put it on. I like that if the issue can't be fixed, Cinch replaces the appliance. I've already had that happen to me when I had my home in Spring, Texas and the microwave couldn't be repaired. Three men came out but they could not repair it.     When we submitted a claim, there was a little bit of back and forth about what was needed, and what documentation the service providers would need. We did it sort of as a test case to make sure that we knew how it was going to work. But once we had all of those pieces and everything that they needed, it was easy to schedule the repair people to come out and fix what needed to be fixed. The repair people were good. It took two visits for them to come out and fix what was wrong. They came up the first time and tried to fix it, but it wasn't the right thing. They knew what the issue was, and they ordered the new part. Then scheduled the second visit and it was successful. I have gone through many years of homeownership and needed to pay for all the things on my own. So having Cinch in my second home is a nice reassurance that those unexpected costs will be minimized as best as possible.

    Cinch has helped me keep my house in line. I have an older home and it's a good service to have. Submitting claims is very easy because I can do it online or on the phone. The last time I submitted online, I got a return phone call from the service provider within a couple of hours and it was a weekend. I was impressed by how efficient the system is. I've had some very good contractors and the last guy was super great. He got the job done within a short period of time.

    But a few years ago, Cinch replaced a water heater and the contractor didn't complete the job correctly. So I had to call Cinch and have another person come and fix things after it went bad. Other than that, the contractors are timely and they respond, even during COVID when it was hard to get people out. I like that the coverage is comprehensive. The plan I have also includes the septic system which could be a large cost if anything happened. It gives me peace of mind that I can maintain my home in an affordable manner. It's easy to get service providers and as a whole, everyone has done an excellent job and has fixed my service requests in a timely manner.

    I've used Cinch a couple of times, and I've had issues where there was a misconnection between the servicer and Cinch. One example is I have a tub and shower valve that they came out to look at. They said, “Hey, you called this in as a regular waterline. You need it changed, so that we can do the work.” I changed it, then they came out and did another job, but it was a separate thing. They took care of that and marked both jobs, “Completed,” and I haven't heard back from them. Aside from that, having a home warranty is more beneficial than doing an insurance claim, and it covers things that insurance claims wouldn't necessarily do. It's nice. I like the system. Cinch has also been rolling out situations where if it's an install on something, they're partnering with some guys on it, which is a great idea. ‘Cause I have a lot of different things that need that, too, and it's nice to be able to just make that claim. All in all, they're doing a good job.

    You can submit claims to Cinch online or by a phone call. It’s easier online and you get through much quicker. But dealing with the reps is usually a little difficult. Everyone has a very strong accent. I don't know where the call center is located but it's usually not someone who has a Southern accent like myself so there is a language barrier. But the techs that Cinch has sent out are local people and they’re usually great. For the most part, the work has been fabulous. There is one company though that Cinch uses and they’re terrible. It’s R&S Heating and Electrical and I do not want to use them ever again. You wait weeks and once they're contacted, they never contact you back. They may come and check on something and then never come back to finish the service. I've had to complain about that more than once.

    Last year, I had an electrical issue. R&S came, looked at it, told me what it was and said they'd be back the next week. Four weeks later, they still hadn't come back so, I contacted Cinch and demanded that they cancel them and hire someone local. Cinch reassigned them to a claim six weeks ago and we finally got fixed last week for a garage door opener. The day that came to fix it, the owner of the company called that morning to cancel and I said that there was no way they could cancel on me that day. He said he didn't have an opener. And I said that I didn't care. They can go to Lowe's hardware and buy the opener.

    I know that Cinch has already approved nearly $500 for R&S to come and do this. The opener is not gonna cost more than $200 or $300. And it's going to be done today or I'm canceling them again. So, they came. But Cinch needs to do away with that service company. If you go online and look at their rating, all their customer service ratings are 1s, and people are saying that if they could give a 0, they would.

    I bought my condo that I live in now and a one-year warranty was given to me. I'm a single mom on a very fixed income because I became disabled and I realized that everything in my house was old. If things broke down, I couldn't afford certain things to fix out of pocket. So, I kept going. I had to call on the first year and it had a quick turnaround. The vendors they sent out were nice. I only had one issue but Cinch was positive to get another vendor out. I had a plumbing issue and I wasn’t quite sure how to categorize it on their website but it didn’t matter. They had someone call me by the end of the day and then someone was out the next day. So you just pick whatever service you need whether it's an appliance or your HVAC and then the more specific issue, and then they line you up with the right people and they give you their information. But usually, the service company will call you. So, it's seamless.

    Everything was great except for one guy with my dryer who said he was ordering parts. It was a family-owned business and whoever came out was an elderly man that wasn't doing his job, and they wouldn't get back to me. So I went back to Cinch and they got somebody else to come out. So overall, I've had a good experience with vendors. I don't have the highest expectations, but versus calling my own, I'm paying a company to stand behind the people they send out. It's tough business to find a good company. But Cinch has been great and I assume it'll continue to stay that way. As far as these types of companies go, Cinch is above average in terms of what they offer and I've recommended it to neighbors around me.

    Major things happen, and having a home warranty pays off. We had things all happen at the same time, and we had three repairmen coming out. One of them came and took care of the issue, and he was very good. The other two were due to come out the 28th of November, but on the 27th of November, my husband went into the hospital. Right now, I am still sitting in the ICU at the hospital with him. I got ahold of the local plumber, explained to him and he just said to call when I could. I had no idea it was gonna be this long though. I was also able to cancel the one with Sears for the AC, but I'm doing these things from a hospital.     When we purchased a new home in August of 2022, we were provided with a 1 year Cinch warranty on all of the appliances. In December, our freezer and ice-maker failed, so I decided to contact Cinch. When you try to contact the company by phone or via e-mail, you get a message stating they are experiencing an unusually high call volume and are referred to their website. When you try to chat with them, they make you wait and wait to chat with a human. Even though our policy had a $100 deductible, I was charged a $15 non-negotiable surcharge due to "increased costs".

    I had to pay the deductible up front AND the $15 surcharge before I could even check availability. After I paid the $115, the next available date was over one week away. Keep in mind, that there is no guarantee that the technician will be able to fix it on the same day. Not only is the delay in scheduling service unacceptable, a 15%, non negotiable surcharge is a rip-off. Stay away from Cinch.

    Having a home warranty has worked out fairly well for me, but not in every case. Cinch responds well, but I had a problem with a dishwasher claim and eventually, I gave up and bought a new dishwasher. That was disappointing. With my last case though, I had an electrical issue with the outlets and some circuit breaker issues and they resolved it. It worked out well. The technician I had was great with the electrical too.

    Do not use this company. I had a furnace that was not working. The outside temperature was in the 30's. I contacted Cinch warranty they said they had no one to service my area. After they collected $100.00 for a service call. After three calls they finally said they would send someone in one month. Again,its 30 degrees in the winter in Indiana. I had to pay for a $6,300.00 furnace out of my pocket,even with home warranty coverage. I submitted a claim. I had purchased this home and had two inspections prior to the purchase stated it was in good working order. Cinch stated the furnace was not in good working order and refused to pay. Their work and coverage is worthless. Do Not Use this company.

    When we turned our furnace on and when we turned it off and on, it clunked. The guy Cinch sent out looked at my furnace and said, "You got some kind of a flame sensor." He said that was bad. He pulled it out and showed it to me. There was a little wire, and he wanted $380 to fix it. It was an outrageous amount, so I said, "No, I'm not gonna do that. I'm gonna call the warranty company." Cinch sent out a company from down in Miamisburg, which I live outside of that, and I had to pay the guy 150. He was the guy that gave me all that song and dance about that, and I was dissatisfied with that. I'm not even sure there was anything wrong with what it was that he was looking at. I'm not sure that guy wasn't trying to stick me with a big bill.

    On the other hand, I was very satisfied with the work I had done for a garage door opener. I called a company out to look at it, because I didn't think it was a warranty issue. That company charged me $100 twice just to come out and look at it. First time, they didn't fix it. The next time they came out, they did whatever they did, then they wanted put a whole new thing, so I said, "Forget it." I called Cinch, then they came out and fixed it. They did a good job. The thing wasn't working and they said, "Couldn't repair it," so they replaced it. I was very happy with that one. However, I learned a lesson on this. I'll never call anybody other than Cinch, but they raised their deductible up to 150.

    We're Realtors, and we use Cinch all the time. The disadvantage is on some things, people need something instantaneous. They gotta fix it now. They can't wait for a part. Right now, for example, I have an air conditioning unit that's at least 25 years old. It works fine, and I've had it checked every year, but that may not even be compatible with the new furnace we put in. If my furnace went out on January 1st, I can't wait for three weeks to get a new furnace. One issue we had was two months for a part to come in. We had another claim, for a microwave oven, and they couldn't get it fixed for four months. The home warranty company sent us a check for 350 and told us to get it fixed, because we could get another company here to fix it for 350.

    I am generally satisfied with Cinch. The only complaint in selling them is some Realtors say things they should never say. They lead people to believe that, "Oh, if this breaks, you get a new one. If this goes out, you get a new one," and people's expectations are awfully high. That's not the way it works. People pay 150 bucks, the home warranty company sends someone out, and if they can fix it, they fix it.

    My wife had almost insisted that everybody get a home warranty, but I don't do it, because if anything goes wrong with Cinch, they start blaming me. However, I tell people it's a good idea if they want to get it. If something major goes wrong with their house, they have a warranty. I would give Cinch good marks as any of the other companies. Also, I like the agent that's in charge of this area. She's cute, really helpful and does a nice job.

    I've had Total Home Protect for I don't know how many years, and they've really helped me out in some really bad binds.     My husband had noticed that there was dripping from above in our bathroom, so we called Cinch and made a claim. Then the plumber came and took the toilet off. He said the issue was the rubber thing that hooks the toilet to the floor and he could work on it. It was quick. Everything's good. When our oven went out, it was ancient and Cinch told us that they could replace it for a certain amount or they could give us the money to buy a new one. So they gave us the difference, and then we went out and got the one that we wanted. It worked out really great.

    Anytime that we ever have a problem, Cinch is always really efficient. A lot of times, if something about the contractor has taken a little while, they'll get back and say, "We just wanna make sure everything's okay." They always follow up. If they don't have the report that it's done, they'll always follow up. But I've never had a bad contractor. Everybody that we've gotten has been really good.

I don't know that it's the best form for everybody because it didn't seem to have an online possibility.

    It was not easy to get through to Cinch Home Services. It took a long time. They want me to do everything online. But I wanted to talk to somebody. I paid for this, and I want to know when they would get somebody out here, especially when the air conditioner was broken in the middle of the summer. When we weren't satisfied with an answer they gave, we reached out to the local rep, who's the rep for the entire state, and she got the ball rolling quicker which was nice since it had to do with the air conditioner in July. Also, we have liked who Cinch has sent out. And it has just been for the HVAC. So if there's any issue with the air conditioner or the heater, we request them. So far, we've been satisfied with Cinch.

    Seemed like a good idea buying a warranty with the home due to 25 year old age. $1500 warranty was for the most part worthless. First I called about a hot water tank that stopped lasting more than 30 minutes. They said it must of been having problems before the warranty so it's not covered. Then I had a microwave problem and they fixed quickly. Had a few pool furnace problems. One of the problems on the pool was some wires were eaten by rodents. However I had 3 other problems completely unrelated to the wires - like a bad temp gauge, some bad seals, and a bad pump. They said because one had to do with rodents they would not cover any of them. Worthless company - I would never recommend outside of basic plumbing and electron issues. DO NOT BUY the better warranty.

    In general, I have had a great experience with Cinch but right now, I'm dealing with a situation in which I've had to wait a week. They don't have a lot of providers that work on pool pumps so every time I have an issue with mine, it takes them two or three days to find someone. Also, for this claim, I have gone through three providers. Two of them did not service this problem that I'm having and one was a no-call, no-show. I'm still waiting for Cinch to find me another person. I'm not thrilled with them right now.

    Initially, Cinch Home Services didn't have my claim number or something was not in their system. So, it took a while before they were able to properly identify me as one of their claim holders. But that was the only hiccup I had. The biggest factor was the contractor came quickly. It was a situation where my furnace was not working. As we get into wintertime, we don’t want to be without heat. It took them a couple of days, unfortunately. Those days, it was not as cold as it is now, so I was fortunate.

    I like Cinch Home Services. I've been with them since they were Cross Country years ago. I have three of these things. I've gotten two heat pumps out of it, which is a hell of a thing when they're $4,000 apiece. They replaced them both. But recently, I had to hire my own plumber. Cinch Home Services didn't have a plumber available. So, that created a little snafu.

    They asked me to wait up to 48 hours, and I said, "That's not acceptable." So, I called them back on Sunday, but they still didn't have anyone. They authorized me to call my own, which was fine. I got it fixed. They said they would reimburse me the deductible, but they were supposed to send me an authorization. I went ahead and did it. And I just got off the phone with them. The rep was very pleasant, and she said, "Well, what's your contract number?" I asked her for the service job, and she said, "Write this down." So, I wrote the service job number and the email. I'm getting ready to email them the invoice. She said it would be Monday.

    I'm satisfied in general, but this particular instance is frustrating because they didn't have a plumber. And that's ridiculous. This is Williamsburg, Virginia, 20,000 people. Newport News is 180,000, where I live, it's 15 miles down the road. They're trying to tell me they don't have a plumber available. It's not like water was pouring out of the second floor, but when all your toilets are stopped up, that's an emergency. You need a plumber that day. I called 10:00 in the morning.

    I've been with them for years, and I've been satisfied. 80% of the time, it has been great. It's a good value. You pay $50 a month, you quit anytime you want, there's no penalty, like when you change your phone plan. You pay $125. If they can't fix it, they replace the appliance. Or it could be a plumbing problem, in this case. I have three toilets backed up, something's plugging up the drain line. So, asking me to wait 48 hours is ridiculous. And they should have said from the get-go, "We don't have a plumber. Here's authorization." Instead, I had to wait until the next day. I scrambled. Called a few friends. Making somebody wait 48 hours is bad practice. If they don't have a plumber, that's on them. I'm paying my $50.

    I waited 15 hours, called the next day, and they said, "Go ahead." But I remember asking them, "I want to see that in an email, that you're giving me the authorization." So when I called today, the auto thing. Said, "Do you have authorization to--?" I already did, they just didn't have the invoice. That was Saturday. I just got around to it today. If they pay me back minus the 125, that's fine. But I've been through it before with these people and they couldn't find the plumbers. Plumbers in particular like to charge a lot of money. I could have hired a friend to do it for $150, $200. Just go up there and run a commercial snake, which costs 500 bucks. You gotta know what you're doing. These people charged me $475, partially because it's Saturday. That's part of the problem.

    These companies that sign on with them are paid a lower amount, but it keeps their phone ringing. A lot of them say, "Business is good. We don't need Cinch. And we don't need these home warranty people, 'cause they don't pay us what we can stick people." I'll be more satisfied when I get the check for, hopefully, 350, because I gotta pay the 125.

    There was a gas leak. It was horrible. Then I had to change things for the water heater. I paid $100 so a contractor could come and look but they never came. The day after, Cinch found another one and they came. But Cinch refused to pay anything so I paid over $4,000 from my pocket. The second thing was a problem with the oven. When the people came and looked, they said, "If you use the gas, you cannot use this oven. If you use the oven, you cannot use the gas." I paid 100 bucks but Cinch just sent me someone to check and fix it. They were not going to replace it. They contacted me and I appreciated them for that but I'm not happy with Cinch.

    Business model appears to be making resolution impossible so that you just solve it yourself. I was lied to repeatedly. This would be an excellent case study in horrendous customer service. After nearly 3 weeks without a water heater we simply took in upon ourselves to solve the problem. The local contractor they wanted to use seemed to have a little side hustle going to charge the customer absurd extra costs, and their customer service model is clearly to avoid paying any claim. For example, they repeatedly insisted they couldn't find a water heater in our area, yet I found several, told them where they were, offered to pick them up myself, but each time was told they needed to pass the information on to their "research" department to see if they could get the water heater. At one point they were telling me the supplier didn't have the water heater, while I had the supplier on the other line telling me she was looking at the unit. I suspect they stay in business because realtors get some incentive to get sellers to buy this warranty for the buyer, but then the buyer is screwed if they ever need to file a claim, and Cinch has no incentive to do better because they just keep selling these policies to realtors, and buyers never know how bad the service actually is.

    The service is terrible! The supervisors are only there to deter you from getting an appropriate resolution and protect the company! I have been attempting to get a plumbing issue resolved for the last 5 months. I pay nearly $80/month plus $100 deductible for each repair, only for them to turn around and say that they don't have any service providers in my area and that I should pay an additional $125 travel fee in order to get service in my metropolitan area! I also have additional damage because the leak was never repaired! They never offered me a refund and they are telling me that my deductible is about to expire even though they never sent a technician. Another time their technician wrote up the report incorrectly, the claim was denied, and their only resolution was for me to start a new claim and pay another $100, in spite of the fact that it was an error on the part of their technician! Each time I called I got a different story and every supervisor insisted that they could not do anything further!

    My oven wasn't working. The techs replaced the computer panel where the clock is. They ordered the part and it came to my house the next day. The tech scheduled and came a couple of days later to install it. Both techs were very nice. Cinch has been very good. There have been delays but that was because of not being able to get parts. The service people are always good and they get back to me. Also, we had a previous issue with our air conditioning unit upstairs and they ended up replacing it. It was an older unit and they couldn't get sufficient parts. They said it was better to put another one in. So, we're very happy.

    The first time I used Cinch was wonderful. The contractor they sent was exceptional. They were very thorough and stayed until they completed the repair. The second time has been frustrating. We filed a claim for a leak in our bathtub. It was two weeks or more before we were able to secure an appointment. When their contractor came, they just said they couldn't fix it, and they would have to contact the warranty company because the whole thing needed to be replaced. We've never heard back anything at all from either the plumber or Cinch. Also, Cinch's app doesn't work at all. Every time I try to use the app to submit a claim, it tells me it's not possible and I have to call. But when I call somebody, I'm disconnected several times.

    It isn't easy submitting a claim as I'm not used to not talking to people. Everything seems to be on computer now, but I like to talk to people. Most of the time, they just line up everything. And then you do talk to the service people when they come work on it. So far, everything's been okay with the contractors. The only claim I have going on is for my central air unit and they're still working on that. It's 28 years old, and it's been having problems. The Sears techs recommended it needed to be replaced. Cinch sent somebody to take pictures of the unit. But that was two weeks ago and I haven't heard from anybody since. Other than that, they did well. Cinch has done me good.     It's not that easy to talk to anyone at Cinch, and I have to pay a deductible right off the bat before I can even do anything. I had someone from a heating and air company come out two times in the past five months, and they were very nice and prompt. I was very appreciative because they came out fast. The first time they came though, they thought they fixed everything. They fixed part of the problem, because my unit would come on and shut off. However, I was still hearing this weird, loud noise, and it got even louder so I called back and asked the company to come back out again.

    I was charged another deductible plus another extra $10 surcharge for gas, and I was shocked. Why would I be charged for it? It was not that the company did a bad job. It was just hard for them to detect what it was. The call was for the same thing, and it was within two weeks or less. I was going to ask, but I couldn't talk to anybody on the phone. I thought, “I'm not paying a deductible. What if they don't have to come out?” I couldn't do anything unless I paid a deductible first.

    The company came back out a second time to figure the loud noise out, and it was something in the furnace that needed to be bolted down because it will come on and the air was coming through wherever it was. Overall, the company that Cinch sent out was incredible, but the way things were handled with them, I wasn’t happy with. I've used Cinch once before for my stove, and they were fantastic. But again, I had to pay that upfront first.

    When I first started with Cinch, I like the responsiveness and the ability to kind of book an appointment if I have any issues with my homes as soon as possible. That has changed in the past two claims that I filed. The first year, I didn't have any claims. The second year, it was right through the middle of it, I had one. It was still great. Then this past year has just been a headache. I had a problem with one of my AC units during the summer. We had an appointment with Sears that was canceled twice. I called customer service to talk to them to help me get an appointment. They said they couldn't get me one. Then they told me that I could go ahead and find one. Then I was told that if I do find one, then they would reimburse me. I found one to fix it and then I submitted a claim for reimbursement. I got paid less than what I spent on the fix. So, all those things are kind of like really not as good as I expected.

    The benefit is I don't have to buy a brand new product at cost. But the downfall is the amount of deductible I have to pay for regardless of the amount of the repair. If they make a $50 repair, I still have to pay them $125. Also, I wouldn't recommend the last techs who came for a home repair for anything. My dryer was overheating and the techs said, "Oh, your vent is clogged." even though there was plenty of hot air coming out of my vent outside. They ran a brush into a soft vent, destroyed it and left. They didn't give me a receipt nor a phone number. It cost me $450 to have it repaired. Other than that, I have recommended Cinch to several people.

    The claim process with Cinch is simple and straightforward. I've done about four claims with them. For the home appliances, they're fine but for plumbing, the company that they're supposed to be providing service doesn't reply in a timely manner. I opened a claim on Tuesday for a plumbing issue, and I understand that they don't manage 24/7, and I'm supposed to give them 24 hours, but when it's a drain issue, it's kind of hard to give them 24 hours. I received a call at 4:00 PM and I wasn’t to answer, so I returned the call at 4:02, and I didn’t get a callback. I called Cinch to see if they could do something about it. They said that they put the request as an urgent matter. I got a call at 3 o'clock the next day. So, urgency for plumbing issues does not exist. I had to contact another company. So, I'm kind of disappointed about that.

    The reviews from Cinch are fake. If you actually look them up on google you will see that they have 2.5 stars and HUNDREDS OF TERRIBLE REVIEWS

    The lady who I bought my condo from purchased a home warranty through Cinch for us. From the first month we moved in we had issues with the fridge and filed a claim with Cinch. Over the one year that we had the warranty, 10 times we had technicians come out to fix the fridge. The replaced every part on the fridge and even added Freon and multiple of the technicians told us that the fridge needed to be replaced. The second to lay technician we had even told Cinch over the phone in front of me that the fridge could not be repaired and they still refused to replace it. The last person that came out to look at the fridge was in October and as of the first week of November our fridge still does not work. When you log into cinch it doesn’t show a history of the repairs done (of course) so I cannot pull the information but I know they have it because one of the cinch customer service people told me he could see how many times they had to come out and fix it. After taking off work every time someone has to come out and fix the fridge and after throwing away an entire fridge/freezer full of stuff multiple times from the fridge not working I want to be compensated for all of that and a new fridge that we now have to buy out if our own pocket.

    With them, if the HVAC could not be repaired, it would be replaced. Also, if the furnace went out in the middle of the winter, Cinch would put clients up in a hotel. The first time I submitted a claim, it was a flawless experience. It allowed me to rave about Cinch because I'm in the real estate industry. But the next time I needed to use them, they sent a tech who couldn't fix the problem. He had to order a part, which came within a week. It took four months and I no longer owned the home. I had to reassure the buyers that Cinch was coming back.

    I couldn't get a new repairman since they kept sending me text messages that went nowhere. It was very frustrating. If it weren't for the fact that I was selling the house and just hunkered down and got serious about trying to get somebody to be accountable, I still wouldn't have had that fixed. Other than that, the techs have been excellent.

    For my dishwasher, doing the claim was really easy because that's one of the pre-populated choices. I was able to put in the ticket for it and describe what was wrong with it. I got an immediate response on that and someone came pretty quickly. For my pool filter and heater, that was really difficult because I had to submit it in a different way than what I would normally do. Plus, they didn't have any service provider in the area so I was supposed to find one myself. By the time I found someone, my husband had already fixed it himself.

    Other than that, the techs are pretty good. If you're moving into a brand-new house and you already have brand-new appliances, it's not necessary to spend 500 dollars a year on the warranty. But they don't make appliances like they used to. You can no longer use a washing machine for 30 years like my parents did. To replace a refrigerator, it's $2,600. I would pay for this warranty every single year in the off chance that my refrigerator would go out. It has really worked out in our favor to help us save money and to help us ensure that we're not without a washing machine or a dishwasher or an air conditioner for an extended period of time while we have to save up money for it or something like that.

    Our air conditioner broke. The first tech looked at it and said, “You have another part under the house, I'm not climbing under there. I'm not doing this.” He left and I complained to Cinch about that. Then they sent another company to deal with the issue. That company was wonderful but they had to find the parts. It took the entire summer to find both parts. Other than that, Cinch is great and I love them. My issue is the people they are contracting with.

    I had a contractor check on the electrical wiring. One of the light sockets wasn't working. The contractor was very informative. They gave recommendations as to other options based on what Cinch would cover under the warranty. Cinch offered to send a second person out because the first person didn't have a certain license to do the full check that needed to be done. We were able to get the issue resolved. I work for a company, and I set warranty calls for them. All I hear are major complaints. I was scheduling the contractors to go out. But in order to get the authority from the warranty company, we need to go through some hoops, and it is very difficult. With Cinch, I find it to be extremely easy.

    Submitting a claim has been great every time in terms of service and in terms of the people I speak with on the phone. But I tried to report a problem with a dishwasher and there was nothing on their system that allowed me to check what the problem was. I spoke to a rep and she said, "Well, we don't cover doors when it comes to the dishwasher."

    At the same time, I was having a problem with my stove and it had to be replaced. When the tech came to take care of my stove, I asked him and he said, "I can't do anything about it." Because of what the door is doing, it causes water to leak out and the dishwasher will eventually not work. The tech said, "This is gonna eventually cause you big problems." That's troublesome. Other than that, the techs have always been timely and great. Problems get properly addressed and ultimately we're satisfied.

    Stay away from this company. I called about my wall oven and it took over 3 weeks to get anyone to the house. They kept scheduling repairman that didn’t show up. They would call and say they were coming and then stopped answering calls. Then was told to find someone local. I ended up having to pay the bill 300 for that repair person which Cinch won’t reimburse. Wall oven can’t be repaired and they will only pay $1,000 saying it is an “ultra premium appliance” I had a different company and my mortgage company switched me to this one without telling me. So now after paying the repair person I am getting 700 for my wall oven which I can’t replace for a minimum of 2300

    My wife owns a real estate settlement company and we will NEVER recommend this company to any clients. I feel completely ripped off and plan to file a complaint with the Bureau of Insurance and Better Business Bureau. Stay away from this company. Poor customer service and does not pay out on the plan. My wall oven was not some major luxury appliance but they saying it is so they can cap my coverage at 1,000 which was in the fine print and no even the type of coverage I had before. I don’t even know how my plan can change without someone telling me it did.

    I've had Cinch for a number of years and for the most part, I've enjoyed it. I have had two people I dealt with that were absolutely outstanding. One of them called me the next day. I told her I was 82 and I had been without heat for two days. She did whatever it was she needed to do. She called me the next morning to see if I had heard from them.

    But I have some issues with it. I have a benefit that was grandfathered in, which means I can get maintenance checkups. I asked for a maintenance checkup for my plumbing but they didn't give it to me. Then, I had some plumbing problems. They fixed my dishwasher but the dishwasher overflowed since they fixed it.

    They also replaced my furnace and then the guy came in and said that they did not pay for connecting the furnace to the pipes but I paid the man for that.

    My air conditioner went out and I forgot to pay the mortgage and they gave me a late fee and I refused to pay the late fee because I've never been late before and I was angry because they did that. They apparently were taking the cost of the insurance out that my mortgage company had been paying. So, when I refused to pay the late fee, they stopped paying for the maintenance program. The prices also used to be a lot cheaper than they are now.

    I have had a good experience with Cinch overall. When my washing machine was not working, they were able to get me a new machine in a short period of time. However, my first experience wasn't good at all. The person came to check on the toilet. I don't have shoes in my house, and he was very rude when I asked if he had a boot cover to put on his boots. He left and never came back. I called Cinch and someone else came out. For the most part, the contractors from Cinch are good, just that one person. I will tell people they should protect their home with Cinch.

    Over the years, we've had various things break down, and Cinch was there to fix them for us. We have filed claims several times before, and the process has gotten easier since we first became members. Today, it's just the manner of a website. We put in the appliance, and they’d fill it out on the make and model number for us, then we leave a review or at least some information about what the situation is. It used to be more complicated in previous years. The technicians have been very good too. They've been very knowledgeable, prompt, and easy to work with.     I just go online to submit claims with Cinch. It’s like a portal, and it's a couple of quick work sheets with dropdown answers. I click one, I go to the next one, click, and go to the next one. They said someone will contact me. And usually within 20 or 30 minutes, somebody would. They typically come out. When our water heater caught fire, they were out here the very next day.

    I can schedule an appointment on there if I want to, which is cool. And if something comes up with the appointment, they call me and let me know. They were great about keeping in contact with me with this last one of when he would be here and what to expect. The tech came out quickly. The only issue we had is that when I originally scheduled the appointment, my only availability based on what they had was three days out. And they contacted us a couple of days later to say, “Hey, we have an opening for today, if you'd like us to come out today.” We both had to work and I said no. Would have been convenient two days ago. But it's one of those things where it happens. But he did, he was able to come out and manage it well.

    Our washing machine was possessed. I went in there to do a load and it started singing to me. And all the numbers would change, and it was doing all of these fantastic things. I couldn't get the power button to turn it off. Right away, the tech knew what to look for. He went in, did his diagnostic, came back, said, “This is the issue. These are the options you have. You tell me what you'd like to do, and we'll do it.” And he had the parts he needed on the truck. He was in and out of here in 30 minutes. He was fantastic.

    Some items, Cinch is very useful, but one item, I had a hell of a problem with. It was for my washing machine, and it was just some paperwork. It was back and forth, not being properly staffed in time. That was the only time I had difficulty with the service, but other than that, the contractor was spot on. Overall, the service has been outstanding, and I have recommended Cinch Home to a few people already. The repair people represent themselves well. They show their ID and let me know they're on their way. They do good quality work, and I've never had any problems with any of the contractors that came out.

    I have recommended Cinch to several people. Their service is good. Every time I asked for a routine maintenance or if something broke, they were right on time. I had one hiccup on the AC that went bad and it took about a month to get that taken care of, but Cinch took care of everything. Everything went well. All of the repair people have been good as well. Some of them will come to do the check, do minimal stuff, then go back to Cinch. Cinch will then come back and tell me they didn't do something so they were sending somebody else, and that was fine.     The microwave didn't work and it was older. I called Cinch Home and the people came out the next day. The techs were prompt and they knew their business. They replaced the microwave, and they did their thing quickly and quietly. The whole process took no more than two days. At another time, some techs came out and looked at the water heater. They said it needed to be replaced because it was leaking too badly, and Cinch Home replaced it as well. So far, both things that they gave as replacements are just right on the money. I've had home warranties before and this one is the best.

    Cinch has been giving me great service all these years. You just pay a monthly amount and whenever you have something wrong, their service providers come out and do your repairs on your house. They always send well-skilled and well-trained people to do the job, and I've never had a problem.     Cinch Home Services is very good. Every time I had an issue, they were able to resolve it in a timely manner. I'm very satisfied with all the service calls for the last couple of years. Back in the summer, the compressor on my air conditioning unit was bad. It took the techs a day to come out and it was good service. They had to get parts, which was a couple of days. The AC is working very good now.

    Cinch always responds, but the people who answer the phone don't work on houses, and I've had instances of miscommunication where they didn't get what was wrong. For example, we had a gas issue, and I told them that we needed someone to find out what was the source of the leak. I also told them that the gas company came to our house and inspected it, and when they turned it off, they thought that some of it might be coming from the stove and some might be coming out near the water heater. Cinch made me pay the deductible twice and sent out one person who works on stoves and another who works on water heaters, but the problem was the source of the leak. It made it longer. I've also had other issues where there was a misunderstanding of what the issue was.

    The other issue I've had is I'm not convinced that Cinch has a working relationship with some of these vendors that they're using. It would be helpful if it was like, "Oh, no, we've vetted them. And we know that they're good." Some of the vendors seem so random, which isn't a bad thing. It'd be great if they were supporting small businesses that they know are gonna get the job done. However, some of the vendors don't show up when they say they're going to, or we call and they say, "Oh, no, we can't fit you in until like two weeks from now." There was one guy who came and didn't completely finish the work. I was stuck chasing him, calling him every day, "Hey. When are you gonna come?" I didn't want to call Cinch and have to pay another deductible again, and I was begging him to come back to fix what he had started. Also, because he started it, I thought, "Who else is gonna come to finish it?"

    I've had this situation recently wherein someone asked me if I was happy, if I could recommend my home warranty people. This is my first home and my first experience with a home warranty, so I don't have anything to compare it to. With those little things I mentioned though, I can't recommend Cinch to anyone, and it’s not like I'm angry. I'm not convinced that other home warranty companies would be so much better either, but when it comes to a year, I will, at least, compare what our other options are.

    Cinch convinced me to renew, but the first year, they didn't cover the washer and dryer, which they should have. When you boil down to it, I had to get a new dryer and pay for it myself. When my refrigerator broke, they didn't cover that either. The door didn't close, and it wasn't something that was covered. There's always something, and I doubt if I’d renew the warranty next year. I had to pay almost $1,000 for the refrigerator, and it was an old unit. Why would I do that? I just wound up getting a new refrigerator.

    Cinch came out and covered the sewer one time, but then they told me, “Oh, we don't cover that if it's outside.” The company that came out took care of it anyway. I also called Cinch for my bathroom showerhead and they took care of that. For the most part, the repair people are all right. The only issue I've had with them is sometimes they don't call to confirm the appointment. They're supposed to call and set up an appointment, and sometimes they don't. I call back if somebody's coming out.

    When something breaks, I can call. And the past few times I've used it, it was a quick response. Cinch had a technician come out. I told my renters the timeframe, and he came 15 minutes after that. I couldn't get ahold of him to reschedule. So, I called back, Cinch started calling, and they couldn’t get ahold of him. They rescheduled with somebody, I had somebody out there in two days, and it was fixed. It was resolved quickly. I was happy about that. The individual that came out was great.

    Cinch was fantastic. I called some others and they couldn't come out. I have the insurance, and when I called them, they were able to accommodate me. I told the lady I talked to that my son is autistic and I use my microwave all the time because I'm preparing food for him and I couldn't be without it. She sent somebody out, and the repair guy came out right away to look at it. I love the service. He had to take the microwave out and put a new part back in, and even find out what was wrong with it. It had something to do with the heating where it didn't heat up. He came back out in about a week later with the part, and he wasn't here 30 minutes. He fixed the microwave, and if I could give him a grade, he would get an A+ all around.

    If I could choose a repair person that would come out, I would go with him every time. ‘Cause I've had service people before and they couldn't give you the time of day and they seem to resent you asking questions like you're infringing on their space. This repair guy was really good. Whatever questions I asked, he answered. I'm also picky about who I let in in my home, and I was comfortable with him in here.

    I have several properties, and I have warranties on all of them. Three of them are with Cinch. When I signed on, it was called HMS Home Warranty, then they switched over to Cinch. This past month, I had two situations. One was for an older refrigerator and that took at least 14 days. After I paid my deductible, Cinch called Sears, and the guy who came could not find the model number so he couldn't work on it. We had no refrigeration. We had to eat out because our food went bad, and we couldn't go to the grocery store because the refrigerator wasn't working.

    Over a period of two weeks, Cinch called another service provider, and the same thing. He couldn't order a part. I said, “All you have to do is take the part out. There's a part number on every part in every refrigerator.” They could have ordered it that way. Cinch ended up giving up and saying that they would allow me to call a service provider. I had a guy there inside of a day. He diagnosed the problem, ordered the part, picked it up locally, put it in, and it was done. I had to pay out of my own pocket, and now I have to go back and try to get my money out of Cinch.

    Case number two is the hot water tank, and the service provider is supposed to be there today, somewhere around 5 o'clock. It's a similar situation. I had to set these things up, and I was talking to somebody in India. My address and billing address were totally different than the property that the service provider was supposed to go to. Cinch sent me an email saying the name of the service provider and the address he will be going to. They were sending him to my billing address, not my repair address, so I called them. I already paid the deductible, so they had to refund it, which took a day. They also opened up a new service record for the correct address. When I called to begin with, there was an automated response. I assume they're trying to save money, and that's one of the reasons why their call areas are out of the States. They must be getting them cheap.

    Cinch set up the service provider, and the only way I got that done in a day was by making multiple calls. I can see how long I've been on the phone, and each one of the multiple calls was between 45 minutes and an hour and a half, which is totally unacceptable. I should be able to call, report a problem, then they should get on it and get right back to me with a service provider, so that I could call the service provider and get it scheduled. I understand service providers are not sitting there waiting on the calls. They have other things to do, so I accept one or two days, but not 10 or 14 days.

    I was in the hospital in an emergency room when some of this was transpiring, and I had to go out to my vehicle and get my paperwork because the reps asked me for the address and the contract number. I didn't have the contract number on me. I had it written down, and fortunately, I had that paper with me that I could respond and tell them what the contract number was. With the electronics as they are today, they should have been able to look a lot of that information up on a computer screen, but no, they kept asking questions.

    Another thing is, every time you call Cinch, you get the same automated answers. “Do you want this? Do you want that? Do you want this?” If what you want isn’t any one of the three or four items, then you have to almost holler at the automated system and request a human to talk to. Each time I did that, I never once got a call center in the United States. One time, I got Peru. Another time, I got Colombia. I have nothing against the people in other countries, but their English is not great and somewhat hard to understand. I even told the guy in Colombia, “Look, you're wasting my time. My battery is going dead on my cell phone, and I don't have a charger with me. I'm out on the road. Give me your supervisor.” “I can't give you my supervisor.” I said, “Why not? Do you, in fact, have a supervisor?” “Yes, I do.” I said, “Well then, call them and put them on the phone.” “I don't have a number for him.” That's just a runaround.

    These are the frustrations that I've run through in just the past month, and I don't use Cinch on a regular basis. Thank goodness. Eight years ago, when I signed on with the former Cinch, they were excellent. They responded immediately, and I didn't have to talk to somebody I couldn't understand. I could talk to an American US citizen that spoke excellent English and everything went as planned. I had multiple things over the last eight years go bad, and they were handled at a respectable and serviceable time. I had repairs done in less than three days, and in some cases, two days.

    I sent Cinch customer service an email explaining my frustrations and the problems that I have had. They may be saving a couple of bucks, but they're not winning the war because I definitely will go elsewhere. I also told them that I was going to be reporting this to all of the social media outlets that I can. People should understand what they're getting into, and if they have high expectations, Cinch shouldn't plan on getting 5-star ratings from these people. I would give them half a star because they answered the phone. They didn't even earn the 1, in my estimation.

    I just submitted a claim. But I wouldn't call it submitting a claim because I paid the deductible and Cinch fixed the stove. But the $200 deductible covered what was necessary for them to fix. It was straightforward. The technicians explained to me what they were doing. They took the part out of the stove that needed to be replaced, put it in, and that was it. Very easy, quick, and they were in and out. I just renewed Cinch.

    I did my claims online and that was very easy. Cinch has its own air conditioning service in the Dallas Fort Worth area. They just told us who was doing the work, when they were coming and if was it okay. I hit confirmed and the techs showed up. They were really fast. We have an LG refrigerator. It's broken six times or under the, "They'll fix it forever," mode because it's a nasty refrigerator. Cinch repairs were the only ones that had been able to fix the refrigerator and make it stay fixed. I'd recommend Cinch. They're doing an advertisement right now in Sam's Club. When you walk by, they have a little booth. When I walk by them, I always say, "Best home warranty there is."

    Cinch has been terrific and make the service very smooth. They send the people out and generally, it’s a quality repair when it’s done. So, I’ve been very happy with them. We’ve kept this program for 20 years and they’re great. They spread out my expenses, because invariably, you have a thing where suddenly a $1,000 item breaks down and you got to come up with $1,000. So even though it may cost me over time, it's a nice steady amount every month that I can rely on with the occasional visit charge. I like that confidence to not be worrying about getting a $10,000 bill out of the blue.

    Cinch has been absolutely what they say they will be. Every once in a rare while, one of the service people may be a little late but for the most part, they're reliable. Cinch has been consistently there, which is what matters. They pick up the phone or we do it online. It's a quick thing. I can rely on the repair guy coming out the next day or so especially when the air conditioning goes.

    We had a sink clog again in our kitchen and we were a little frustrated with Cinch because every time we kept trying to do the claim online, it kept telling us we already had an order for that. It wouldn't let us redo the order even though we're allowed to have three orders at a time. So, I could not do it myself on the Thursday before they came out. I called Cinch and they couldn't do it either so they asked me to call back later. I did but they still couldn't do it so we didn't get it fixed until Friday. By that time, it was too late to get on the schedule for the plumber so we had to wait until Monday. That's four days with not being able to use our kitchen sink. It was a technical issue that should not have happened. We have the same tech all time and he’s always great. He knows a lot about what he's doing. This is the third time he's been here, so he knew what to bring to fix our problem. He was out of here within 30 minutes.
