The installation went very well, except I wonder why they had to make a splice halfway up because it's only a half flight of stairs. But I was impressed by the dealer, the contractor, and the way it all went forward and was completed. Also, the stairlift is a really wonderful product.

The VA indicated that I was eligible to get a chairlift and they said that they would have somebody come out. Bruno came out and talked to us. They measured the stairway and they came back eventually and installed the chairlift in one day. I like it a lot. I can ride it up and down whenever I want to and it works really well.

We chose a company that we had some service work done by to install our Bruno stairlift. They were exceptional at doing that. The installation went very well and the lift works very well too. However, I need to call them because we had two lifts installed. For some reason, the frequencies make both of them move at one time when you push the button. Other than that, it works perfectly. I'm happy.

The installers did a beautiful job putting my Bruno stairlift in. It took them about an hour and a half. They went through everything with me. The stairlift is of good quality and it's a good aid in my home. It serves a purpose and fulfills that purpose.

The installers were really nice and polite. They cleaned up after themselves really well. However, sometimes, the stairlift is a bit noisy going up and down. It makes a clunk, clunk, clunk when it's going down but it stops. Other than that, I feel safe on it. I'm satisfied with my Bruno.

The tech did a good job putting the stairlift in and he was fast at doing it. The stairlift is really handy. I'd highly recommend it because it serves my purposes. I needed to go into my basement. With it, I can get my washing. I just put my things in a laundry bag and take them down as I go.

The stairlift has relieved us of our worry of getting up and down. Even though it's only three stairs, that was the worst part of getting in and out of the house. It was a falling hazard. So, the stairlift has worked great. I can turn the seat. The remote control is fine as well. My husband is over 200 pounds and is 5 foot 11 and the stairlift has made it easier to get him in and out of the house. It's extremely helpful and the controls are very easy to navigate.

A salesman came and gave a good evaluation of our place. He had things laid out and everything was fine. A nice young man then installed the stairlift and he was first class. He knocked the job right out. Although my 97-year old mother hates everything about the stairlift and can't stand looking at it, it is an absolute necessity as it allows her to stay in the house. That's the important part.

Angel's Stairlift came and installed Bruno. It's majorly assisted my mother for moving in her house. The quality is excellent other than sometimes we get mixed up. It's two separate stairwells. Sometimes we'll hit it, and it won't come upstairs. Initially, sometimes, it won't power up then it will. But I think we're just messing up on how we're operating it.

I have two Bruno stairlifts here. My husband had put them in years ago and they’re wonderful. I have another one going down to the basement and it’d probably go out soon, so I'll be calling to have another one put in. The stairlift fits very nicely and we like it a lot better than the original, the way that it stands up. The only problem was that, when the installers first put it in, it was not put in correctly and it didn’t work. They had to come back and set things up again. They worked very diligently and they were very cooperative. Anything that we were not clear about, they were right there to answer all the questions about the chair. So, I'm pleased with it so far.

We saw Bruno on the internet and it looked to be perfect and of quality. When I went over to Chattanooga Mobility, I asked if they had the Bruno chairlift and they did. The sales team and installment crew were wonderful. They were professional and kind. If we had a question, they would answer us. They were really up to par. I couldn't have asked for anything better.
The chairlift is absolutely wonderful. My husband has been diagnosed with vascular dementia and some form of Parkinson's. His feet and legs were affected. We have seven steps going up to our bedroom from the living room. I was having to hold on to him and hoping we wouldn't fall. I have no fear of him falling now that we have the chairlift. We can come up and down as many times as we like during the day. It's a blessing.

We Bruno's chairlift and the folks who did the ordering and installation did a great job. They got us everything that we needed. The company we bought it from had to do some adjustments to the house and did what was needed. I would highly recommend the company 101 Mobility out of Stevensville, Maryland that did the work for us. The product worked fine and I was very satisfied.

We talked to the sales guy Bob and he was wonderful. He spent plenty of time explaining everything. We had already done our research online on Google but he reinforced it. He also took measurements. Rather than having one long stairlift that turned a corner, we decided on the one where you take one up to the landing then another one starts at the landing to go up. There are stairs going into the garage so we decided on one there.
Bob was very good about trying to get the stairlift to us as soon as possible. His son then came to install it a few days later. The guy was super nice and he had me try out the stairlift. He explained everything too. It didn't take long to do all three stairlifts. The work wasn't messy and was just very nice. You wouldn't even know anybody was here.
The stairlift gets me from downstairs to upstairs and that's what I love about it. I get to go to sleep and take a bath upstairs. My office is there too. That's the practicality of having the stairlift. It's also very smooth and I don't have to worry. My cat is used to it now so she doesn't look at it like it's a monster. Once you get used to the stairlift, it's fun. It's like a ride. Every time you hear stairlifts, you think of Acorn because they are constantly on TV. But do your research. There are others that are better or just as good and aren't as expensive or maybe the same price. Find the stairlift that suits you for the price that suits you.

Our experience with the Bruno stairlift is very good. It's working really well. The thing I appreciated very much was the fact that the company who installed it and the two individuals who installed it were excellent. They were very clean. They cleaned everything up. They took a tremendous amount of time explaining things, how this is, how that is, what to do and what not to do. So, they've done an excellent job. They were very nice. The owner of the company came to the house and explained and showed everything, and said that there are some of the problems they run into that are created by the owners and not the equipment. They try to take care of everything on the phone but if they explained that, “If we need to come out, we'll be here.” So, I thought it was good.

The installer was very polite. He ran into traffic and he called to tell me that he was going to be about 20 minutes later than he said. Then, he came in and knew what he was doing and he explained everything that he was doing. The installation was a very good experience. By having the stairlift, it is much easier for me to go up to the second floor and I don't have to rely on people to change my furnace filter. Also, I like that it has a remote.

The sales team was perfect and the installer was good. I had to call him back because one of the bolts up at the top broke. It was making this awful clanking sound. He said this happens once a year. Since 2017, we’ve had three bolts break. He had to come out replace it, but it was underneath warranty. But the stairlift has helped immensely day-to-day. We use it four or five times a day and it helps with me bringing the laundry down. I like its convenience.

The representatives were awesome and the people who installed the stairlift were fantastic. I got the straight model and the quality is fine. It's just we have stairs that are a little more complicated. It's in a walkway so it folds up at the bottom and that's where the complication seems to be in play. My father-in-law can't seem to figure out that he has to stop, wait for the stair part to come down then he go again. He's having a little trouble navigating the stairs. He keeps getting confused and the stairs are beeping. It's frustrating. I wish Bruno had a little picture direction. I would not refer Stairlift model. If the person operating it is an older person, he should have the cognitive ability to use it.

The sales rep was fabulous and super knowledgeable. My husband is happy about the stairlift and my kids aren't struggling with constantly having to help me up and down the stairs. It was a problem before. Most people think that when you get something like that installed in your house, it's because you're elderly. The rep who came in was about my age and he did not make it awkward at all. He told me that I need to do this to take care of myself. He was smart, super competent, very professional and worked hard the whole time he was there. I can't complain. He laid it all out and set it all up, and it went well.
We live in the age where customer service has died, but this was good, especially the installer. He went over the safety stuff with me. Sometimes when you have people put stuff into your home, they want to drop it off, get it and get out of there. He took the time to explain potential things that might cause it to stop and was very thorough. I appreciated that.

The way that the rep from Bruno talked and presented himself as well as when he did the work were all excellent. The only thing I don’t like is that the stairlift has two pieces. I got 12 steps and it only covered 10 full-length so they had to add a piece for the other 2 feet. Every time you go over where they joined it, it’s like going on railroad tracks. But there was no problem during the installation. The installer showed me everything and what he was doing. He was polite and very good. It's only been three weeks but the stairlift seems to be operating okay.

We moved to a different house and that was the reason why we had to get the Bruno installed. We had a curved stairlift with Acorn and now, we have a straight one. So, there's no way for us to move it. When I got it before, the representative didn't tell me all the different restrictions that they have. So we wasted $10,000 worth of chair lift. Compared to Bruno, anyone can install it. Even if we sell the house and someone doesn't want the chair lift, we can have Bruno taken out and any person can put it. It's a lot easier to deal with compared to Acorn. The salespeople were very informative and knowledgeable, and the installation was very easy and professional. Bruno is quieter than the Acorn and my mother-in-law likes it because we had issues before with Acorn where sometimes, the stairlift would stall. But with Bruno, she has not complained anything about it.

We liked the installation because I was told that normally the installer attaches them to the wall, or they do something else. Bruno installed ours to our steps. My wife wasn't happy because we got oak flooring and she didn't like that. But I said, "Well, you'll get use out of it. And when I get to the point where I can't walk, I'll get use out of it too." She said, “Okay." She would've had it mounted to the wall, but I've never seen any of them. Even on TV, they’re always mounted to the floor, on the steps. She said, "We paid a lot of money for those oak stair tread and stuff. Well, I can live with it." And before we used to have particleboard shelving and covered it up with carpet. And we took the carpet and the particle board shelving out and they put oak stair tread on top.
The only thing I was unhappy with is when the installers did all the cutting, they left all the metal shavings in my driveway, and I had to go out there and get my blower. I said, "Oh, no big deal." I thought they would be aluminum foil, heck no. They were sharp shards. I picked one up and said, "Oh crap." My grandkids come and visit me and when they get off, they're just wearing their socks all bare-footed. That's why I said, "I want to get this stuff out of here because if the kids can get that stuff on their feet, they're going to come in crying down, "Grandpa, grandpa, I got this stuck on my foot.". So, I just took my blower and blew all that stuff away. Other than that, I got no other complaints. The stairlift works good. My grandkids like the hell out of it, and I do too.
I have a close friend of mine who is a veteran too and had his installed. They wanted to put one when he's going downstairs, because his wife told me he had to scoot in his butt to get downstairs. When there's a severe tornado warning, they said that that's the only way he could get out. But he said it limited the space going up and going down. And mine does too, but I don't worry about it. Now, all I have to worry about is getting in and out of bed, take a shower. I would tell everybody that comes into my house, "Check this out. It has rocket boosters on it. You put it in compound, it goes slow." It only travels at one speed, but it's a plus and they like it. They would say "I gotta get me one of those."

My wife has leg problems, hip problems, and also she's got dementia. So, I wanted to get a chairlift. One of the ladies that came to help out my wife had one at one point in her life, and she gave me Bruno's telephone number. The sales representatives are good. Doug and Mel were super. They know what they're doing. The only thing about the chairlift is it’s too much money. I have about five steps and it's about five feet from end to end. It cost me $3,500. I've got more stairs below that. There are two curves. I would love to have more chairlift, but when I said, “Give me a ballpark," they said, “Around 20 grand.” They priced me out of the market. If they're more like an elevator, maybe they're less money. But you get what you pay for.
I like the chairlift. I had to have one of the installers come back out. It's got all these damn beepers on it like trucks backing up, and it was driving me crazy. What I would recommend is for them to be sure to advise people of those beepers. I had to have the guy come out a few days ago and turn one of those beepers off. I just assumed there were no beepers on it at all. That's the thing I don't like about the design. We don't need these darn things. They're just superfluous.
The only way you can stop that damn thing from beeping is to turn that chairlift back around to its normal up and down position. But that's okay. They can unhook them if I request them to, and they did. You can also turn it off. There's a flip switch on it but a handicapped person cannot reach around underneath and behind and turn off that beep because it's very low on the chair itself. If they're going to have that beeper switched, they ought to put it up where a handicapped person can get to it. Overall, the service is absolutely wonderful.

About three years ago, we got a stairlift to the basement from a different provider. But we got the Bruno Elite based on the size and weight capacity and we've been happy with that. When we decided to put one in going up to the second floor, we contacted the original people who installed the first one, although we weren't thrilled with them, but it'd be a lot easier to have a single vendor. However, they apparently lost the Bruno franchise and they made an alternative proposal. Then we found out who had the Bruno franchise and talked to them. Theirs was substantially cheaper and it was identical to the model we were already familiar with so we went with them.
We dealt with two people and one was not really equipped to do the sales job. He did not follow up. We talked about the wide seat and payment didn't include that. We almost ended up getting the wrong thing installed because of it. We told them that we didn't want to deal with him anymore and dealt with the more experienced guy. The best part was the installation people and they were so much better than our previous install. They also seemed much more competent and the communication was very good.
There was confusion about what was required because it's a straight stairlift on a stairway that turns at the bottom and there was a discussion that we needed a platform. We started putting that together, but upon actually seeing the experience in the chairlift, it wasn't useful or helpful to have the platform, so that was the only thing. Otherwise, everything was quite good. We're looking right now to have our carpenter install some grab bars at the top and bottom to help my husband get on and off. We have to have the chairlift to figure out where we need to grab. He rides it up and down now, and it's a big improvement over trying to go up the stairs, even without the grips.

I called them the week before and they were still on the list. The installment crew was great. When they showed up at the house, they were very professional. I showed them what was going on and when they left, they made sure that I understood how to operate the chair.
My wife loves the chair. Her crafts room is down in the basement. I tried to move it upstairs for her but she was too upset about that. Now, she is able to get downstairs. How they made it fit into my property was a lot of work and they did it good. Also, they were very neat.
The mechanism of the stairlift itself is fascinating. It's quiet, smooth, and slow and easy. It doesn't scare anybody. My wife is not afraid at all of this and that fascinated me. She has a fear of falling because she's had several falls and she got into the stairlift and said that it's not bad at all. Also, it's very well-managed. The installation was great. The only problem was that they overfilled some grease and we got grease on the floor, which was hard to clean up. A couple of times, I was able to get it off the carpet before it got rubbed in. But they came out immediately and checked. When we told them about it, they checked the unit to make sure it was okay. My husband is a big guy and it looks secure and runs well. He is able to go downstairs with the rest of the family. Before, he wasn't able to go down there when the family goes down. 101 Mobility was great and everything was flawless. I called them and the gentleman was out when he said he was gonna be out. He called ahead, was very nice and knowledgeable. When we finally decided to do it and get the Bruno stairlift installed, the installer was the same way, extremely nice. It took him about an hour to do it and when he left, it was working great. He also showed me how to use it and the safety features. My wife's mother likes the stairlift. It gives her mobility. It's easy to operate and it looks to be extremely well-built. It gives her a chance to get in and out of the house. So now, she can go someplace. It was fairly straightforward to purchase. The stairlift is quite expensive, but it is quality, so that makes it more money. I recommend it to anybody.

The process went through the VA and then Bruno came out. They measured, did what they were going to do, and they said that they would order the lift and they did. But the steps are not the normal code height. I ended up with a stairlift that I felt very unsafe. To me, I would equate it with taking an office chair and setting it at the top of somebody’s stairs and turn it around backward, and telling them to get on it. You would probably not want to sit in an office chair with wheels and at the top of the stairs with your back towards down the stairs. That was how I felt with the first one.
I talked to the VA. VA would speak with the company. The people at the company here were thinking that they had already done that. I kept trying to get through to them and tell that that it was so unsafe for me and that I needed this thing to come up onto the landing. Plus, it wasn't really quite level. So that experience with the actual stairlift was not pleasant. It took me almost a year of calling back and forth. When I was almost at a place of just giving up, someone called me from out of state about the stairlift. With that call, things began to move forward. Finally, they came out and measured for a second stairlift. They removed the first one, came and installed the second one. I love the second one that's installed recently. It’s faster and it takes me all the way up onto the landing. Overall, Bruno is great. You just have to make sure that you get the right equipment for the right health needs.

I work for Venango County. I went to the area on Aging, to see if they had anyone that they have used. And they gave me Bruno. The rep was very nice and helpful. My husband said it was amazing how smoothly the installation went, they had a routine and they cleaned up. The stairlift was installed to help my mother. She can get up and down the steps much easier now.
The thing that we noticed is when you sit down on the chair, it's hard to reach to put that foot thing down. So, if you put it down before you sit down, you have to straddle it and you get your foot between the step and that. If it could open up easier, like once we sit down on it, if we could take our foot or reach down with our hand and just push it down. But it's very tight. I know that Bruno doesn't want it to be loose. Because they don't want it flopping down all the time. But that's a particular design flaw. Especially if you're talking about someone in their 90’s, very fragile. Once they sat down on that chair, it’s hard to reach over and put it down. Other than that, we're pleased with it. The entire experience was very nice. Everyone was so kind and helpful.

I've seen some other elders have Bruno in the past. One has two of them because she has two sets of stairs. It seems to work well for her as far as getting her up and down the stairs. Bruno was close to where the house was that we would put the stairlift. I contacted them on Monday, and the rep got the information to me right away. I had to make an initial deposit, and the rep said that he would come out. He wasn't sure whether they would be able to do it the Friday or the following Monday. Then they ended up coming out on the Thursday, which was sooner than what they anticipated. I've gone on the stairlift just to see what it was like. It's quiet but a little slow. I did it on a bad day when I was having a problem with my knee. But it's a good thing for her to have because without her having it, she can't get downstairs.

My mother, who's 96, came to live with us. We live in a two-story house and we needed to get her up and down the steps. She fought the idea of having it, but now she's grateful that it's there. There's a lot of peace of mind with it. It took a couple of weeks for mom to get all of the steps of what you have to do from getting in, buckling up, making sure the seat was locked in the right position before you go up the steps. It took a couple of weeks because she only did it twice a day. She came down in the morning, went back up at night. And now, it's a no-brainer for her to do it.
The safety features on the Bruno stairlift are amazing. One of our concerns was, "What if it stops halfway up the steps?" It happened one day and it was like, "Okay, let's go through the steps. Where are your feet? Did you tap the footrest? Did you do this?" It was some innocuous little thing. And sure enough, when she clicked the button, "Zip." Back up it went. So far, it has been a great product. We're fortunate our steps were wide enough that it accommodates it. It's not hard to walk around and get around it. I wish we had had it sooner when my husband had his hip replacement.

The Bruno rep came out and signed him up that Wednesday. By Friday, the guy was here putting the stairlift in. I’ve been riding it ever since. It fits in the stairwell. I go up and down the steps well. It’s just that I’m going down sideways but I get down okay. It lets me out at the bottom, it brings me at the top. I rolls around and I’m at the top. So, I’m not walking into anything that will make me fall. I’m on the landing when I get up, and I’m on the landing when I get down. I recommend it if you have stairs and you're over the age of 70 like me.

Bruno had a better warranty than some of the other companies. I was interested in the lifetime warranty on the drivetrain. We already had trouble with the drivetrain on the one we had, with no service and no parts available. We also have service on our Bruno stairlift from two different dealers in our area. The reps were really good and they took care of us. We were 100 miles from the dealer and they charged us $200 to come out. But the installers came when they said they'd be there. They gave me an estimate on how long it would take and that was pretty accurate.
The stairlift is narrower and is put closer to the wall than the others. We like that it's smooth and quiet. But since it is narrow, it's not really steady. When you sit down in it and lean back, it’ll rock back. When you lean forward, it will lean forward. It's not bad and it's not really causing a problem, but it's just not solid when you sit down on it.

They gave us options on a different brand but I didn’t see spending the extra money to do that for what my parents’ needs are for. We got a straight model and it’s wonderful. So, I'm very happy with the representatives they had here and I'm happy with the quality of the work. But I have to make sure that I get my sales tax back from them. Bruno had a good Better Business Bureau rating and zero complaints. They seemed great and responsive when I first called. But I have a major complaint with them. When I was first doing my due diligence, I asked the salesman, “Well, do you ever sell used ones?” And he said, “Yes. At a discount.” I asked him if there were any available, and he said, “Well, we usually do but not at this time.” What they do is they find out where the install is going to happen by zip code. And then they charged us more than the top range for the similar products from competitors. That is one thing I noticed right out of the chute.
I had their product installed. It took them three hours to install it. It's not that difficult. It was installed on the right hand side of the stairs. It has a folding bottom part so it won't be a trip hazard. Unfortunately, my mother passed away two weeks after they had it installed. When I approached Bruno to try to get some of the money back, they would offer me $500 for it. I understand they have their costs. But I don't need it. I would like half of my money back for something that was only used once. I had it for two weeks. It took my mom from the first floor to the second floor where she ended up staying in bed the whole time and dying two weeks later.
I'm ready to get state auditors on them. I'm also going to write a lengthy letter to the Better Business Bureau because I've talked to a couple of different people, and Tiffany said that the CFO of the company is only going to offer me $500, yet not only have they made already six grand from me, but they are going to turn around and who knows how much they're going to sell it for again. That is wrong. Tiffany said, “Oh, well, we don't do that. We donate it.” That is complete **. Dan stated that they sell them at a discount. They don't donate them. They sell them at a discount. There's a big difference.
They are very nice on the phone until something like this happens. And then it's like crickets. First, I asked a couple of people to go back and talk with the higher ups about it. And then Tiffany called me and did nothing but argue with me about it and talking over me. How they are handling this is very poor in my eyes. If they want to maintain their A+, zero-complaint Better Business Bureau rating, I'm shocked at how they are handling this. They won't even negotiate the $500, which they need to in my case. Getting half back or at least negotiating more than 500 would be more acceptable and satisfying for me. It more than covers their costs. I'm waiting for a call back from them because I let Tiffany know that their $500 offer is unacceptable, that I would need her to go back to the CFO. And it's doing the right thing.
Who knows what people would have paid in another zip code? I was in 98199, Seattle, so they thought, “Oh, well, people that live in Seattle are rich and can afford it?” My mother was on a very limited income. She only had her Social Security and some savings. And this ate through her savings. Everything else has been great and they have been wonderful. But trying to deal with this and get more than $500 back has been awful. It's an insult to injury. I'm experiencing a loss of my mom and I got to deal with this. They need some help in this area to improve it.

Everything went on smoothly. I'm happy with the way the stairlift is. It is up to 300 pounds. My husband is heavier than me but he's still under 300, so we can still both use it. I wish it was a little high. But it works fine. I use it almost every day. Be present to answer any questions, and be there and see how the work is done. I'm satisfied with the service and I'm satisfied with the equipment.

The installer did a good job. He did the job professionally, made sure I understood all the equipment before he left, and showed me the phone number if I needed any help. I went with a straight up-down Bruno stairlift. The bar rail is skinny and it is really nice. When it comes all the way down, I see enough clearance to bring things up there and down here. For the area it was in, it's not a big area and it improved my stairway, and me getting upstairs. It's a reputable chair, it shouldn't break down, and it's working.

At one point Bruno may be able to have the chair turn on the bottom. But out of the two others I have, I like the way the design is sideways instead of straight up so it takes up less room on the staircase. That would be the one to go with.

My dad needed a stairlift. He has congestive heart failure and bad knees. He lives in a two-storey house with a basement, so we purchased one to go upstairs to the bedroom. And then a month later, we purchased a second one so he could go down to the basement to his little workshop. I contacted Home Health Care Products that are fairly local to us. Bruno is a very reputable place, and I contacted them to come and see if we could put a stairlift in my dad's house. The guy came out the same day. He gave me a nice brochure about the Bruno, and we saw it was made in USA. It was a no brainer. The installation was quick. They came out within a couple of days and were only there less than an hour to put it in.
The stairlift has been doing very well. My dad likes it so much. He likes how it didn't require a lot of modifications, that there are only a few target points that it bolts to the tread stairs. He was happy that it didn't have to bolt to the wall or anything of that nature. If he would end up moving, that could just come right off and it will not make a big mess with anything. He likes how it contacts with the stair treads for its mounting surface, and how it plugged in easily. He also likes how it works off of the battery, how it charges it, and having the remotes work.

We purchased a stairlift because my mother is going to be moving in with us. She’s going to be in a garage apartment above the garage and the stairs is becoming a bit too much for her. It's fine when she visits, but she's if she's going to be here all the time, we wanted to have a stairlift. We first talked to Acorn and they were a little cheaper than Bruno. But the initial estimate was for an outside stairlift and when it came time to finally sign off on everything, they became very nervous about the outside staircase. I began to sense that they weren't really going to follow through on all the warranty stuff, so I looked for people who specialized or did more outside stairlifts, and that was Bruno.
The stairlift that they installed for us looks great. My mother was here for two weeks over Christmas and used it every day. She loved it. Bruno's reps were all great as well. The installation team was super professional. I gave them a heads up that my mother was going to ask a lot of questions and they were very patient and answered all of them. I would tell our friends that if they get to the point where they need some sort of chairlift, Bruno's who I would call.

The part of the track that juts down into the living room was a real stumbling block to us. That area in our room is tight with furniture and we have to thread our way by the stairs to start with, and that track's sticking out. I saw it as nothing but trouble and in the future that people run into it. The installers explained that it couldn't be done any other way. The only way they could do it was pull it up a little bit. They were pretty firm in what they were going to do. I didn't really understand that either until I finally got to sit down in the seat upstairs. They were absolutely right. We got the idea for the stairlift out of one of the catalogs. I called that manufacturer and spoke to them. They had several people call us back and talk with us. 101 Mobility was one of the people who called back. I never buy anything like that unless I test one out. 101 Mobility had several manufacturers on their floor to test and the Bruno one was the one that I liked the best. They did not have a test model of the one that I had seen in the catalog. I tested that one out and we figured that it would do the job and bought it on the spot. They also had it in stock.
It was a very enjoyable experience. We bought it on a Friday and they installed it the next Thursday. The fellow said he'd be here at 10:00 and he was here at 10:00. It took him a little time for the installation. I asked him a lot of questions about how the stairlift was made. I liked the idea of how the rack and pinion were moving. The other thing that I liked was the fact that it is always being charged. I don't have to worry about running the batteries out. We also ordered the seat that swivels automatically. The one that they had in stock apparently did not match the unit itself that they brought down. After trying it out and finding out that it didn't work properly, the guy put the manual one on and he's coming back out on Wednesday of next week to put the proper one on so that we will have the automatic swivel on it also.

When the guy was putting the screws in, he should have drilled it before putting the screws in because he split two or three of my step boards, which were like new construction. The guy didn't really notice how far he went to the front so the screws were sticking out. And I hate that the fact that when the guy noticed there were cracks, he didn't even tell me. The system is fantastic. It's exactly what I needed, and I am so overwhelmingly happy with it. It is just a very well-thought-out system, and it’s beautiful.
The installers have been top-shelf from start to finish. I had a big surgery right in the middle of it, and they did everything they could to bust their butt to get this thing in place for me to get home. It didn't quite make that margin, but they sure tried. And the guys that came out were professional. They just came out, did the work, and then that was it. Also, they were polite and professional. They were clean, they wore their masks, they did everything to make everyone feel comfortable here. And top-shelf service from the admin guys that run it up in Salem to the guy that came and measured, to the team that came and installed. It went really smooth.
With the chair, I’m just like, “Oh.” If I can walk the stairs or climb the stairs, I’ll get my exercise, most rare times. I should use the chair every time, but I don’t. I’m trying to push my limits and I keep pushing as hard as I can. But there were times I was like, “Oh, nuts.” It’s just not working, and I’m barely crawling. And the chair is a lifesaver. I’m upstairs, I’m back enjoying the upstairs part of my house again. A lot of freedom that I would not have had otherwise. It made a big difference for me.

And then, when they came and did the installation, she came back out just to see how it was done so she could learn more about it. The guy pulled up with the truck. He did a quick check on the measurements. He laid out the rails and puts those down. He took the chair and the whole chair assembly up to the top of the stairs. A Bruno lift was assembled in Wilmington, Delaware on the back of my truck for my electric mobility scooter. I took my truck through the VA and they provided me a lift that's on the back of my pickup. The VA gave me electric mobility scooter to get around with. The representatives from the day that I went up to have it installed on my truck were really polite and business-like 100%. The technician that installed it on my truck said he’d be about an half hour, and he was a little bit quicker. He explained all the procedures and the function of it and went over it a couple times with me to make sure I was clear about it.
I've used the apparatus several times. I've had it about a month and a half now, and I am tickled to death with it. The interaction with the people as far as the people presenting Bruno was a pleasure. My lift is installed in my receiver hitch on the back of my pickup that I pull my trailers with. They installed it, in which it doesn't use a pin, so you can easily remove it, so I could put my hitch on to pull my trailer. They use a bolting system that they have to use. Their guy told me why.
If you put a receiver in the back of a pickup, that's not a real tight fit. So, stuff rolls and moves around a little bit. They want this thing to be tight in the hole, so they have a compression segment that goes in there and a bolt. You tighten the bolt up, and it does not move one ounce. That's the way they want it for this lift. So, when it's going down the highway, the lift and the chair you got on it is perfectly level with the ground, and there's no movement, and it fastens down on it. The only drawback I have is the bolt. I've had to remove it one time and take the hitch off for the use of my trailer. It's a little bit more cumbersome than it is just pulling a pin. But outside of that, I'm alright with it. I recommend Bruno highly. I would do it again.

But I Never heard any follow-up for over a month. When I called, they said that the particular contractor had been reassigned. So, we started the process all over again. We started since March. So, for the VA process to kick in in September and us not be able to get it installed till November was a long inconvenient period. We were struggling to get Robert up the steps manually, two women, so it was a challenge.
Once we got to the point of installation and 101 Mobility kicked in, the experience was great. The installation went smoothly. The cleanliness and professionalism of the installers were very good. I know my girlfriend in San Diego has one when she retired and she's happy with it.
I got the straight one, up and down, with a curve in the bottom stair. The installer who came out was a nice and respectful guy. He showed me how to use it, told me about changing of the batteries and to oil once a year. I wrote that down, but he talked so fast. Maybe because he had another installation to go to. But my son told Dan from sales that I'm still available to climb up three steps. So we can wait until I cannot walk up in that three steps to go up in the level where the stairlift is before making any adjustments.
Other than that, my stairlift fits my stairs well. Initially, I was thinking that they could change the stair handle to the other side because the lift is in the right side. But that's the only one with the handle in the rail where you go up and down to hold. But Bruno's rep said he could extend it out there than the stairwell and that was what he did. There is still a few space to walk up and down for anybody, so it works.
When I use my stairlift up and down, there is a green light in the top where they installed under the step upstairs that was on all the time. But last week, I noticed that there was a red light blinking in that green light. So I told my son and he said it might be the battery. He said to call up Dan, so I did that today but he was out of the office. He also gave me the office number, but it was unavailable. It told me I could call later. But Dan said he would call me and try to send me a repair guy to come over. So that's what I'm waiting for. Now, my stairlift stopped running up and down and doesn't move anymore. But I tried to twist back and forth, because you can twist it back and forth, and that's how I go upstairs. Besides that, my stairlift is a good one. It helps me now because I can carry my laundry basket in there too.

I live in a two-storey house. I was having serious problems trying to get to the second floor to the point that I couldn’t get to the second floor at all. I had an affliction with my legs. I wasn't really even thinking about a stairlift. I went through the VA, and they recommended a stairlift. I thought that would be a big help. They started the process and to this day, I haven’t seen it. The stairlift is installed in my house, but I'm in a rehab center because of my legs. I haven’t physically seen it. But when I'm discharged from here, hopefully it’ll be a big help getting me to my bedroom. The last two weeks that I was at home, I slept on the first floor because I couldn’t get to my bedroom.
They informed me that they were going to bid out there and the lowest bidder will get the contract. I was there when the contractor came over. He asked a few questions and left a few brochures. I was also there when he came and measured everything. The steps were regulated and so, they tore all the steps out and installed new steps. They had to have solid wood to put the stairlift on, and my steps wouldn't accommodate that. So, they did that which I'm really grateful. They were very professional. My wife has bad knees also. Now, she's able to go up and down the stairs. She informs me that she uses the stairlift and she loves it.

So, we decided it was time for us to get something to transport her upstairs and back downstairs. I read Bruno's reviews, then I called and talked to them. The reps are good. The installation was flawless. It took less than four hours. Our Bruno stairlift is working beautifully. We've not had any issues with it.

There were two outfits in my area here and they were both about the same. The other one couldn't get to me until about a month and a half later. I call this other outfit and they said they could come right up and check things out, and I gave them the job. I can't complain about any of the guys. They came in, and it was about three hours and twenty minutes and they were gone. They had my Bruno stairlift bolted down and showed me how to operate it and how to put it all to bed at night when I finally got upstairs, and so the wife could still use the steps because she uses steps. I needed it for me. I've got an old farmhouse and I have a door that goes upstairs, and they had to work around that door. When I take off from the main floor level to go up, I gotta watch my knees for about the first two steps. After that, it’s, “Hi ho Silver! Away we go!” I’m really happy with this company. They were in and out quickly and the price was reasonable.

My mom had difficulty going up and down the stairs so we needed something to ensure that she was safe. We purchased a 300-pound straight stairlift for indoors and it pivots so that you can get off the stairs. It makes for a tight stairwell, but it fits well. And I'm disappointed that it had to be nailed into the stairs but there's no way around that. Then, there were some loose wires and we had to have somebody come back and fix those. Also, there was a piece that fell off. These were within the first two weeks and it was really strange to have those kinds of problems.
Other than that, everything was as they said it would be during the installation and they did a tutorial over FaceTime for me at the end. It is nice that the stairlift collapses and the swivel is nice, that's the best part. It looks streamlined. The stairlift has given my mom more safety and security, although she has a hard time using the remote control.

Everything was fine though it took a while to get used to the stairlift. In the beginning, my mother was nervous because she didn't exactly know how to operate everything. But after about a week, she was pretty confident and she was independent and able to get herself up and down without help. The stairlift has made things more convenient as far as getting my mother up and down the stairs.

Bruno was great during the sales visit. The installation was good too. I asked for the cardboard and the guy was real nice. I got a stairlift because I couldn't get up the step. I had to pull myself up to get up there. Once I got up there, I’d be worn out. Coming down the step, I have to do two steps. The stairlift helps a whole lot. All I have to do is sit down and it gets me up. Then I get off and do what I got to do. I come back and roll right back down. It’s nice. I'm not worn out when I get up the stairs. I can do what I wanna do. When I go up to go to sleep, I feel good. My mind is on that because if something good is on my mind, it knows that I'm supported to go down the stairs and I don't wanna fall.

I talked to a friend of mine and her brother's wife needed the stairlift. They had a three-story house and he said Bruno came out and did it. It was perfect. Bruno was highly recommended, which was why we used them. I found it easier to rely on the word of someone I knew and was familiar with it, as opposed to reading reviews because people write a lot of things. The inspector didn’t come out because of Covid but they had a phone thing set up so that they could get the inspection done, which was great. We're very happy with everything about it and the people were very nice and helpful. The stairlift goes around corners but ours is a straight shot. It worked beautifully the few times it was used. It's great and it stops for the cats, which is important. It's very quiet and easy to use. Also, the chair blends in nicely with the décor. It works.

My mother-in-law already did some research and Bruno was the company she chose because she needed one. So, we went with that one as well. The installers were only there an hour to install. But the chair seems to only swivel to the left, so when my mother gets to the bottom of the stairs, it wouldn't swivel out to the right. We’re not sure if it's supposed to be like that or if there's something we need to do differently or if it's faulty. My mother has not called them yet on it. There were two different people that came, the company that sells Bruno and another company. The one that gave the lowest bid is the one that got picked because the state paid for it. They didn't take in consideration that my mother cannot use her right hand. If the girl was paying attention when she came out, she would have known that my mother couldn't use her right side because we had told her this. They put the button on the right side instead of on the left side. The right arm side fell. It doesn't stay up. So, my mother's got a nice black and blue across her arm from it. I don't see her arms fitting right in there because it's kinda tight up in that area for her. The seat part fits her. Also, the stairlift keeps stopping. I'll push the button, I'll send her upstairs, I'll bring her down and it will stop.
My mother likes that the stairlift gets her upstairs, and it does have two remotes, so we have one downstairs and one upstairs. But even where she puts her foot, when she gets up towards the top, we have to pull the footrest up for it to go the rest of the way. For some reason, it hits the top step and it stops. So I don't even use it now. I'm very dissatisfied with it. It's weird. It seems very cheap.

I was thankful to get the services and these devices hooked up for my dad because it was quite a process trying to find the right chain of command to get the whole thing going. The installation went pretty good. The guys showed up when they were supposed to and they were very professional about it. He could train other people. He was very informative, knowledgeable, gave the information and pros and cons very well. And then, it just seemed like the stairlift was a better option.
The installers were very nice and friendly, and just said, “Hey, if you need to go up and down, let us know.” They were very personable in that way. And then, I reached out just to ask a couple of questions, basic stuff, and the guy stopped exactly what he was doing and took the time to explain all my stuff that I was asking. I don't wait well, so I wanted him to know ahead of time. Just like, “Where’s the cord gonna go and how’s that gonna look?” and those kinds of stuff. And the install guy mentioned it, but you sort of forget. He walked me through exactly what he would do and how it would work, and then had my mom test it out before he left, and it was fine.
One of my mother's favorite features is the fact that the chair turns so that she can sit in it before it turns into the position to go down. It turns and locks very easily. But because she has such knee issues, if the little footrest for her was 2 inches longer or stuck out 2 or 3 inches more, it might be helpful. I know it folds up under the seat. It's probably as tall as it can go. But anyway, if that had the ability to maybe go out just a smidge more, that might be helpful for her.

On the estate here, we don't believe in shopping. We googled somebody and Bruno came up as a local stair company in Westchester. They came up and gave us a price. We put in the most top-of-the-line system that Bruno could put in. The rep came out and measured. He told us how the chair would work great. There was plenty of room and he said not to worry. It's perfect measurement. The installer came, put it in and then had to come back and make adjustments. We couldn't get up the stairwell because the legs hit the railings at the top of their stairwell because it was installed further away from the wall than it needed to be. We had to hire a professional carpentry company to come in and redo the railings in the entry, which was very costly.
The rep forgot to measure the bottom step. It was bigger than the rest of the steps and he missed that. Bruno had to come in and take it out and drill all new holes in the stairwell. It was the second series of 20 holes. But we liked the rep who came out. It was interesting that the guy said that the rep was just a sales guy and not a partner. I told him that Bruno said that everybody who works for them is a partner. He said this guy was not. The guy who came out originally was speaking with him on the phone. He was super nice and friendly but he couldn't do anything because he's not a partner. He guaranteed the system would fit and took some measurements, which was why we went with him. He was a very good salesman but we would not refer him to anybody. If we did it again, we probably should have called another company. It's luck of the draw.
We wanna make sure the system was working properly and it was $6,000. We gave them $3,000 to start. Then, we said that we were gonna give them $2,700 and we were gonna hold $300 to know that they are gonna come back and make sure they make adjustments. The guy would not leave the property till he was paid in full. He said he needed to get his money. We said that it was just $300 so we feel safe. This is an estate and I told him that he was not dealing with people who are gonna screw him. These are very famous people who are gonna pay him and they just wanted some security.
The fellow wouldn't budge and then, they said they were coming up with three other reps. They sent a different installer but the two other reps didn't come. When they went to put the system in, the guy said he would be here at 8 o'clock in the morning on a Wednesday. He never showed up. It was switched till Friday and he showed up at 11:00 P.M. to put the stairwell. It was very unprofessional.
My boss is 82 years old and his wife is 80, and the guy wouldn't let them hold back. My boss had already written a check and he said that he would like to speak with his sales rep, John, who came out here originally. The guy would not leave and made my boss rewrite a check in full or else, he wouldn't leave the property. That doesn't even add up. When we got ahold of John, he said that never should've happened. It was $300 and they knew we were gonna pay. They knew somebody had to come back to finish the adjustments and we could've paid them that. He knew that was the plan. So, I wouldn't refer them to somebody because of those types of business practices.

He told us what we needed and what would be done. It was great.
A week and a half afterwards, they came out to install and the installer was wonderful. The stairlift works beautifully because we've got it straight upstairs. I like how the chair swivels and locks in place. So, I don't worry about it not being in place for Don to get into it. It’s got that fold-up leg on the bottom so we fold that up and it gets out of the way. My daughter and granddaughter live with me so they're up and down it all the time, and it doesn't block anything. That's very nice. It saves space and it seems to be working fantastic. I use it to take my laundry down too so it has lots of features that aren’t what it’s designed for. It does other duties as required and it works quite well. It's worth whatever it costs.

Bruno's sales rep was very good. We decided to get one of their products and the rep brought a helper along with him to install it. Everything went well. The stairlift's quality is fine. We're happy with it.

Bruno's reps came to my place and measured. They installed their stairlift and so far it has been convenient having it. It's stable and it works. I recommend Bruno to people considering a stairlift.

I was having a hard time getting up the stairs. For a few years, I was doing it with a cane. I was happy to find Bruno's rep. He was very helpful. He looked at my stairs which aren't as nice and as wide as other places are. He told me what I needed to do and how much their stairlift would cost. I got a straight one for 15 steps and the same man came out and did the installation. It didn't take long and he took time to show me what needed to be done. So far, the stairlift has made my life much better and simpler. I've also let my husband on it whenever he's having a bad day. I'm happy with it.
