There's one little noise as we go past the middle where the Bruno stairlift is hooked up. We didn't have it in the beginning. But after a couple of days, it started making noise as we crossed over the middle of the rail. But the stairlift seems fine and it has helped a lot.

Living below street level has always been a challenge with the numerous steps to navigate both at the front and back of the house. Before installing the Bruno stair lift, attending to necessary appointments, such as doctor visits, was a daunting task. I'm grateful for the stair lift as it provides a safe and reliable way to enter and exit my home.
In terms of comfort, the stair lift is extremely comfortable to use. The quality seems promising.
I would rate it highly and feel comfortable recommending Bruno to friends and family.

We purchased a Bruno stairlift for my wife, and it has nothing but a positive effect on her life. I use it occasionally, but she uses it daily.
The quality of our lift has been excellent. Our dealer was prompt with delivery and did a neat job with the installation, which was reassuring. A few months ago, we encountered an issue where the motor was making some noise. The dealer came promptly, replaced the brushes, but that didn’t solve the problem. Bruno authorized the installation of a new and updated motor, which has addressed the issue completely. They made sure everything recommended was done before replacing the motor, showing their commitment to resolving the issue thoroughly.
Although my interaction has primarily been through the dealer, who maintained direct communication with Bruno, I really feel that both parties delivered fantastic service. I'm thoroughly impressed with their customer care and responsiveness to problems. Bruno is a company I’d confidently suggest to friends and family looking for a lift system.

We had a home renovation which included a bedroom on the ground level for when mobility becomes a challenge, and a basement sewing room for me since I enjoy quilting. My husband, who's involved in manufacturing, makes a component for Bruno, which influenced our choice to purchase their stairlift. However, our experience was not without its hiccups. During the sales visit, I found the representative disappointing. Initially, everything seemed promising, and we were led to believe the installation would occur within two months. But after securing an $8,000 deposit from us, they informed us it would actually take three additional months, resulting in a total wait of 3.5 months. The installation itself was efficient, and the stairlift functions smoothly and dependably, fitting well into our 4 ft wide staircase which was built specifically to accommodate it without interference. Although we don't currently rely on it daily, I feel it's a reliable addition to our home.

A trusted recommendation from Lang Home Medical Equipment led me to purchase a Bruno stairlift While I initially had some reservations about the aesthetic impact on our home, I cannot deny how invaluable it has been in allowing us to continue living there comfortably. It efficiently serves its purpose, especially as moving out was not an option for us.
The quality of the stairlift is commendable, and I'm currently considering a custom model that wraps around our staircase to better accommodate my husband's needs. Though the decision was made rapidly because of a pressing requirement, I have no complaints about the product itself—it does exactly what's needed. A little earlier, I even consulted my neighbors to steer clear of unfavorable brands, but Bruno wasn't flagged, which further assured me of my choice. In terms of recommendation, I would definitely advocate for Bruno if someone is in the market for a stairlift, especially since the product hasn't given us any reason to doubt its functionality. If I were to rate it, I would give it a strong vote of confidence for anyone contemplating its purchase.

The stairlift that I got from Bruno has made a world of difference for me; getting up the steps would have been almost impossible otherwise. Most times, I would have had to stay downstairs, but now I can access different levels of my home comfortably. Moreover, I'm thoroughly impressed with the stairlift's functionality. It operates quietly and smoothly, and I couldn't ask for more in terms of performance. This new stairlift replaced my previous Bruno model, which served me well for 15 years, highlighting how reliable the brand is.
My experience with Bruno didn't just stop at the product quality. The technicians were on time, efficient, and tidied up any mess, making the installation process seamless and perfect. Overall, I would wholeheartedly recommend Bruno Independent Living Aids to others. The customer service was impeccable, further reinforcing my positive experience.

I did a Google search on stairlifts and came up with Lifeway Mobility, which is a distributor in Chicago carrying Bruno as one of their brands. During our showroom visit, it seemed like a good solution, so we decided to go with it. Initially, there was a scheduling mishap with the sales visit when they forgot to put me on the calendar, causing a delay. However, the salesman rearranged his schedule and made it to our home the same day. He was very pleasant and informative, providing a comprehensive overview of the product. Regarding the stairwell installation, we removed the stairway railing for an extra 3 or 4 inches of clearance. Luckily, our house is spacious, so the stairlift fits well without obstructing the stairway. You can easily use the stairs when the lift is at either end, and it never feels like you have to squeeze past it.
Functionality-wise, the stairlift has been great. We installed it anticipating my mother's move due to her mobility issues. Although she hasn't moved in yet, we've tried it, and my kids have used it as well. It operates smoothly, and although it's not fast—as my kid jokingly pointed out—it’s designed for safety, not speed. We chose the Bruno Elite model, which works efficiently, moving up and down smoothly. This stairlift was a financial alternative to a costly $30,000 bathroom renovation, and it’s expected to significantly improve my mom's independence by providing access to the upstairs showers and laundry facilities. This product effectively met our needs, and I would rate it a 10 out of 10.

I purchased a Bruno stair lift following some careful consideration and research after my wife experienced a couple of falls on the stairs. My own health struggles, notably a stroke, made it prudent to invest in one. We discovered Bruno through the VA, who facilitated the purchase as part of their support. One of the main factors that tipped our decision toward Bruno was that it’s made in the USA. The stair lift has been performing well, and although I personally didn't feel I needed it, others around me believed it was necessary given my age of 86. Functionality-wise, it does its job efficiently, and I am satisfied with its performance.

We needed a reliable stairlift for my wife, and Bruno seemed like a good company, especially as it’s made in the USA. The installation process was smooth, and the team did an excellent job. Dave, one of the installers, was great.
The stairlift fits well into our stairwell, and there’s still enough room to move around it. It doesn’t obstruct the stairs, which is important for us. As for its functionality and performance, it's satisfactory and does its job well.
Now, my wife can go up the stairs with ease, which has made a significant difference in her daily life.

The Bruno stairlift is a very good quality. We purchased the stairlift that goes straight up and there are several attached in between each floor of the building. It has improved the lives of a lot of our residents and employees as well. We're able to get things up from one floor to the next without the strain of carrying. It has also assisted with our residents as well, especially with us having more elderly residents here. So the assistance of having that as a relief has helped them greatly. So far, everything has been well. There hasn't been anything unsafe and it hasn't had any breakdowns.

The VA was the one who chose what stairlift I should get because they pay for it, and they chose Bruno. But I am happy with what they picked. It looks like a quality product. But I am still trying to get used to it. And I’m having a little bit of problems when I go down to the basement trying to transfer from the stairlift into the wheelchair or some other kind of chair. We haven’t figured that out yet.
And being that Bruno is manufactured in the US is pretty important. ‘Cause I’m getting sick of these companies that are manufactured in China. And then when you try to get ahold of them, but you can’t get ahold of them for love or money. So, I have to learn to start looking and seeing where these things are manufactured. ‘Cause if they’re manufactured in China, I’m not buying anything anymore, which is probably almost gonna be impossible in the United States nowadays.

I purchased a Bruno chairlift through DME Elevators & Lifts, and the experience was excellent. After ordering it, the installation was completed in two days, and the installers did an excellent job.
I live in what I’d call a basement condo, and there are 18 stairs to reach the first floor. There are three sets of stairs, one from the kitchen to the landing, then to the right leads to the front door, and to the left goes into my garage where my cars are parked.
The builder cut the stairway going up to the garage short and pitched them too steeply. The landing at the top is only about 3 feet by 3 feet. It’s amazing I haven’t fallen from top to bottom, because there’s barely enough room to open the door and step out into the garage.
And if you have groceries, it’s really difficult, he cheapened the design. I’m surprised no one’s gotten hurt. Before my back surgery, the day I went to the hospital with the paramedics, I fell five times, three of those on those stairs. Thank God I fell forward, not backward. Now that I’ve had those nine stairs installed, it’s made a world of difference. I’m very happy with it. The quality of the stairlift is great, and the price was under $4,000, which I felt was reasonable.

The lift is something we needed. We got it more for the elderly that come and visit us, but we also use it on occasion because my husband has a bad knee and I have a bad back. At first, my dad kept giving me some literature he got from the AARP magazines. Another brand was strongly recommended to us. I looked online and found 101 Mobility. We talked to the salesperson who was very knowledgeable and honest, and he told us about Bruno, that it’s veteran-owned. My son is a veteran as well. That and all the information he gave us helped us make the right decision, and we went with Bruno. The quality is perfect, and the price is good and within our budget.

Everything is going well with Bruno. My mother uses it twice a week to go to physical therapy and it's worked every time. We haven't had any major issues. Lifeway Mobility who was the one who did the install. They even provided us with an extra electronic box to put the chraging device in and protect from the rain just in case it does get rained on. They were very quick about installing it. They said that it would take two weeks before they could get the installation in, but they did it within the next week.
The only remark that she had while using it was the footrest. It's a little small. So when she enters the chair and turns the Bruno into the position to go down and up, she has to put her legs on that little platform and sometimes her legs have to go backward a little bit because her legs are shorter. Other than that, it's worked well. It even works through rainy conditions. Our front door has a hood over it and it's covered from the rain.

So far, the stairlift has been good, and the quality seems fine. It wasn't our decision to choose Bruno. It was a bidding situation, and they were the low bidder. I did search online before considering them. As for the price, we thought it was more money.

Everything was channeled through the VA. We got three quotes, three different vendors, and all the all the decisions were channeled through the VA. The sales presentation was all good. The Bruno stairlift is working well, and so far, functionality and performance have been good. We did have a small issue where because the weight of the foot platform, it was catching a little bit on the carpet of one of the top stairs and then stopping the chair. It only happened a few times, and then we got it figured out to where it doesn't do that anymore and it seems to be working fine. It helps a lot because his room is on the second floor, and because of his limitations, it allows him to navigate the stairs in a safer, less painful manner.

I like the Bruno stairlift ‘cause the steps were killing me. I wish it was two inches closer to the wall but it’s fine, and I can live with that. I've had no problems with it. I can walk fine, walk a couple hours longer a day, and I got rid of my urinal in the living room. My insurance company chose Bruno. They were quick, courteous, and I had a great experience with them.

I'm very pleased with my stairlift from Bruno Independent Living Aids, and I absolutely recommend it. I feel safe using the chair lift. Their customer service was excellent. The chair lift costs $4,500 which is expensive for a retired social worker like me. However, it has had a 100% positive impact on my life. The only thing that is slightly problematic for me is the footrest where I put my feet on to get onto the stairlift. I’m a big woman, and I’m afraid that it will break. I know it’s me, not the stairlift. What I should be doing is turning it around so it faces the living room so I can get on it more easily.
Reviewed March 20, 2025
I decided to purchase the chairlift because my husband was having equilibrium issues. Secondly, as far as why Bruno, I had done a little bit of research from a couple of companies and, quite frankly, Lifeway Mobility was the only one that responded and they had two brands. And because I had a 90-degree turn, they recommended the Bruno.
The company that installed the stairlift did a great job. We had one little issue within the first couple of days, however, and they had a serviceman come out right away. Something wasn’t greased enough from the factory, so the swivel locked up and wouldn’t work at all. My husband loves his toy, and he can now get upstairs.
The only negative thing is the small one-step turn. It costed us huge. If you have a turn in the lift, it becomes very expensive. The functionality of the unit is simple, and you just have to follow the steps. It is a little slow for my husband, but it is perfect for that we need. We thought before, “Do we stay in this house or do we move?” And by having this, it has allowed us to stay in the home we’ve lived in over 30 years.

My husband has used the stairlift and it went great. We had to get one because he is getting older, and he cannot feel his feet sometimes to get him out of the way. So, we were worried about him being home alone with it. Installation went well, and the performance of the unit is good. Havin Bruno, hopefully, would mean that he won’t fall down the stairs.

It’s great to have a stairlift from Bruno. I’m very pleased we got it installed. Before, I was only going up the stairs about once a day, coming down in the morning and going up at night. I could manage it, but I didn’t feel entirely safe. Now, I can get as much exercise as I want during the day without worrying about safely getting up the stairs at the end of the day. It’s a very good thing. It looks much better than I had feared. It’s been a very positive experience.
It’s a very fine product and seems very sturdy, even though I weigh only 110 pounds. Because it has curves, we chose the higher level, but the design is very pleasing and the color choice works well. I wouldn’t have minded a slightly creamier shade instead of gray, but the color we picked probably goes with about everything.
Our salesperson named Darren was great and inspired a lot of confidence that everything would work properly and fit correctly and it did. The installation crew was always very nice, and my overall experience with the team was excellent. People answer the phone when you call the sales office, and Darren responds promptly, which is very important.
It cost more than I expected, which made me wonder about the price. I feel fortunate that we were able to do it, but it would be nice if it were less expensive.
We rent a house every summer, and the owners installed a stairlift there on their own. I don’t know the brand, but it didn’t have that noise. If there were a way to dial down that high-pitched whine, definitely when going uphill, not sure about downhill, it would be nice. But it’s a minor issue.
We have a mid-park position about four stairs up and had thought we would leave the chair there. We can still see the top of it over the half-wall, so we decided to send it all the way to the top. It works well there, though, because the plug arrangement is convenient and it hides nicely.
We had to have the installation person come back for a very minor issue. Bruno didn’t include three of the support seats in the original installation. Our installer took temporary ones from the shop, they weren’t quite the right color, but it was hardly noticeable. He had to return later to replace them when the correct ones arrived.
While he was there, I mentioned a jolt I’d noticed. Apparently, a small piece was installed the wrong way, so he flipped it. It still causes a jolt in one direction, but he said it’s better to have it on the uphill rather than the downhill. I don’t remember the exact details, but flipping it improved the situation.
It’s a custom product made in the United States, so presumably they pay their workers decently. That makes a difference, if they want better-paid workers here rather than production overseas, That’s a good thing and I have no quarrel with it.
I was really startled by the cost, our installation was close to $25,000. That’s a lot of money. In the original proposal, there was an extra turn in the design that we weren’t sure we wanted. We didn’t think we needed it, but the estimator suggested it might be a good idea. He said he would provide estimates for both options, with and without the extra curve at the bottom landing.
When I mentioned this to Darren, he explained that the pricing wasn’t really up to him. My impression was that the base price already includes a certain number of curves, and the additional charges apply when more are added. So removing one would reduce the cost somewhat, but not as much as it seemed when it was originally added.
It actually looks much better the way it is. There’s a wall right across from it, so when I stand up, I can rest my hand against the wall while pressing the buttons and standing at the top of the stairs. It ended up being in a really good spot downstairs, and we definitely didn’t need that extra curve.

Having the stairlift makes things easier. We have a rather steep staircase and if I ran up that quickly, I had problems. But I don’t have problems now so it let me get from one floor to the next quite easy. I appreciate that and I’m happy with the product. Jonathan, the salesman, was pleasant to deal with and the gentleman who installed it was nice and did an efficient job.

Bruno stairlift has made it much easier for me to go up and down. The stairlift helped me move up and down safely. The only issue is in the living room, the stairlift going upstairs. The technician explained that it’s really close to the wall. If they moved it closer, it might make it hard to grab the banister in an emergency. So they positioned it slightly away from the banister, and it’s working well for me.
I’ve been satisfied with the functionality and quality. I feel more comfortable knowing I am much safer going up and down the stairs. It took a while to get used to the beeping and how to operate it properly, but now I had it down pat. I feel safer knowing that if I don’t have anybody here. I feel very safe with the chairlift.

It did a good deal on that because I can go up and down the cellar steps. Before, it took me five minutes to go up and down. I had to go down one step at a time. I had to come up one step at a time. Now I go down there, and I don't have to stay down there either. I could just put the load of clothes in the wash and come back up. I go up and down sometimes three or four times a day with it. This is a lot better than I thought I was gonna buy. That'd be perfect. I have no problem with it. It's good.

The stairlift is fine, but I don’t think I should have it because I’m pretty active. But my kids bought it for me. So, I have to look at it every day, and I don’t use it at all. I just have a big teddy bear that I strapped into the seat. Someday, I will use it, and I’ll be very grateful that I have it. But until then, it’s ugly in my living room, and I don’t like it. But the stairlift works fine. It’s a good product. But I have a banister, and I just use my banister.
And also, the only comment I have is that there are stickers everywhere. And from the couch across the room, I have to read that this is an Independent Living Aid model. I hope that they could put those somewhere else where I don’t have to see them, or make them less obvious.

I’ve had trouble going up and down the stairs. I saw Bruno from a local paper, and it happed that the people in our pharmacy, they recommended that company too. So, we chose to go with them. The sales rep I dealt with was excellent, and that’s what prompted us to stay with them. I have the standard product that they sell and it fits into the stairwell very well. You sit there, bush a button and up you go. It works well.
What I liked about it is when he was explaining the installation, there were only a few bolts that go down into placing the track in place. So, in the future, if we ever decide we don’t need it, which is unlikely since I’m in my 80s, or if we want to sell the house, it would be easy to remove it, and that they do offer that service too. There would only be a few holes in the stairs, in the floor, and in the wall. We have a very nice molding on the side of the staircase, which they did not have to touch or damage in any way. So, it was a great installation. We are not concerned in the future if we ever want to take it out.
Overall, I’m very satisfied with it. It has made our lives much easier. I don’t have to concern myself in the evening when I’m tired and I don’t have to say, “How am I going to get up these stairs?” It was a good experience.

I had a Bruno Independent Living Aid stairlift installed in my home, and the experience has been absolutely marvelous. Although the primary user is my husband, who is 91, I find it incredibly helpful for carrying laundry baskets and even small loads of wood. It's designed to go up the stairs, around a bend, and into our basement, and its installation was beautifully executed with precision and care.
The installers were meticulous, ensuring we were comfortable with every aspect of the setup, and were responsive when asking where we'd prefer screws be placed. This attention to detail was impressive. The stairlift has really improved our daily routine, providing a safer way for us to navigate our home.
We were introduced to Bruno through recommendations by the Veterans Association, which allowed us to choose from three companies. While all sounded decent, Bruno stood out for their responsiveness and clear communication about the product's benefits.
Overall, we've had no complaints whatsoever, rating both the product's safety and the customer service a 5 out of 5. The company also follows up a year after installation to ensure everything is functioning correctly, which provides us added peace of mind.
Thanks to the veterans' financial backing, we were able to install this without a financial burden. I'm grateful for this support, and so is my husband. We highly recommend Bruno to others considering a stairlift due to its quality, service, and the overall positive impact it's had on our lives.

I selected the Bruno stairlift for my mother's use when she moved in with us. Navigating stairs was difficult for her, and having finished our basement for her residence, a stairlift became necessary. We chose Bruno after looking at reviews and appreciating that it's made in the U.S., specifically from the Midwest, which we feel is relatively local. While my mother has been in a rehabilitation center and hasn't used it yet, we had a positive experience with the installation. The installer was very professional, ensuring that it fit beautifully in our narrow stairway without being a hazard.
Before purchasing, we visited a showroom where the stairlift was demonstrated, and we even got to try it. The representative was helpful in showing us how it would look in our house and provided us with guidance on operation after installation. It seems like an excellent solution for maintaining my mother’s autonomy and allowing her to enjoy family time without the frustration of stairs.

The stairlift would be better if the seat was to fold up. But I understand why it can't go any farther because of the way that the chair rotates. The armrest would hit the side of the wall. So, you have to have a little bit of clearance for the rotation. I also noticed that it collects dust on the grease that's put on there. That could tend to be a mess in the future. But other than that, it's okay. One other thing that I noticed is that it smelled like a burnt smell. But it's not any problem. It doesn't flip any circuits. It just is when you walk by, there's the electrical smell. I had a guy come back out and look at it and he said that is just the way it is.

I have had numerous health issues in the past couple of years, and living in a two-story home with 18 steps to the bedroom became challenging, especially after experiencing falls. My daughter, concerned for my safety, found Bruno Independent Living Aids online, primarily through reviews, and that led us to consider getting a stair lift from them. Their sales representative who visited us was very knowledgeable and friendly, providing a pressure-free experience, which was a pleasant surprise as I had anticipated a high-pressure sales pitch. After evaluating two other companies, I chose Bruno because the sales approach was respectful and not like the others which used scare tactics emphasizing my risks. This approach, coupled with a gut feeling about Bruno being the right choice, solidified my decision.
The installer was thorough, ensuring I understood the operation of the stairlift without rushing. It's compact and does not obstruct the stairway. The design allows someone to walk past it easily, and you can lift up the seat and arm at both the top and the bottom of the stairs, positioning it against the wall. The railing is bolted to the steps rather than the wall, making removal non-disruptive. In terms of functionality and performance, I would rate it a ten out of ten. Despite having occasional power outages, the stairlift continued to operate seamlessly. It has profoundly impacted my life by providing a sense of confidence and safety while navigating between floors, saving me from isolating myself upstairs due to the daunting task of climbing stairs.

I discovered Bruno Independent Living Aid through the VA, which handled everything for me, including selecting the company. They chose from three companies, and Bruno was the one they picked, likely due to being the lowest bidder. The stairlift they provided is top-notch, and I had already researched it beforehand. It fits well into the stairwell, not taking up much room, which allows for easy passage up and down the stairs.
The stairlift has greatly impacted my life, especially since I have bone spurs in my back from my time in the military, which limits my mobility. My favorite features are its compact design, folding capability, and safety features, which make it easy to use.
While I did not personally choose Bruno, as the VA managed that, I am very satisfied with the choice. On a rating scale, I would give Bruno a 5 out of 5 and potentially a 10 out of 10 when considering overall satisfaction.

The overall quality of the lift is impressive, and while I haven't needed to use the coverage yet, they assured me it's covered well. The customer service from Bruno has been exceptional, and the installation team did a great job.
Price-wise, Bruno was comparable, as I had a few estimates.

I've had a great experience with Bruno's stairlift. My wife, who can't do the stairs very well, uses it to go upstairs, and it's been a significant help. I found the company through an online search and chose them because they were conveniently located in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.
The customer service was excellent. The installer did a fantastic job, working quickly and efficiently. Our stairlift is located inside the home and has been a reliable addition. The price we paid, $3400, was reasonable, and we have no regrets about this purchase.
Overall, I would rate my experience with Bruno as highly satisfactory. The representative we worked with recommended the Bruno stairlift over others due to its quality and durability compared to other brands like Acorn. Ultimately, I'm very happy with our choice and would wholeheartedly recommend Bruno to others, rating it a 10 out of 10 for likelihood of recommendation to family and friends.

We needed a stairlift in our home. My husband and I were both having problems with going up and down our steps and when I checked on the internet, I liked Bruno's reviews. They were the most economical and their warranty is good too. Plus, because other people told me about it, I felt very happy with it. I also liked the people that were putting the stairlift in as well as the salesman that came. He was wonderful. I'm very satisfied with Bruno. We have five steps in the house and my husband cannot walk down. Somehow some way we had to get him down the five steps. We asked the social worker if she knew anybody that would install a chairlift and she immediately made contact with somebody at Bruno. After two hours, they called me back, which I liked because a lot of times, people would tell you that they'd get back to you and they never do. Bruno's sales rep was also very good. He was a little sloppy at the beginning to run the line, but I called back then he came and he fixed it. He was very professional. So far, the stairlift has been wonderful. We sit him there, and he'd be up and down. It's what we wanted and it has made things easier when we have to go out to take him to the doctor's appointment. And without that, it won't be possible.

Bruno set us up with a stairlift going straight up and down from the main floor to the second floor. The salesperson was polite and very informative. There wasn't a single question I asked that he didn't have an answer for and he was very receptive to the fact of when we needed it installed. I felt completely at ease in speaking with him and all the information that he provided us with. I called other companies for pricing but he pushed it over the top for me. When you're looking for something, you don't want somebody hemming and hawing. You need to know your product and that guy sold that.
On the other hand, there was a discrepancy in the time that we were waiting for the installation. We were told one time, but it ended up being four hours later. The installer kept saying he was on his way, but wasn't really accurate in that. But everything was okay as far as putting the item together. So he did the job, he did it quickly, and everything worked as needed. The stairlift has been very helpful. It is quite a costly thing at $4,000 but it was a necessity and it served its purpose. Also, were only able to use it for one week. My mother was in a nursing home and she was only home for a week. But the sales rep informed us that within one year, if we found that we wouldn't have used it, there would be a buyback for $1,000.

We have two flights of stairs to navigate daily and initially, we approached another company for an estimate, but their prices were exorbitant. A friend recommended Bruno Stairlift, sharing a positive experience, and we reached out to them. Bruno provided a reasonable estimate and promptly installed the stairlift within a few hours.
Our staircase is fairly wide, so the stairlift fits well and folds compactly, making it easy to navigate around when not in use. I love the stairlift. I didn't want it, but now that it's here, I don't know what we’d do without it. The performance is excellent, providing much-needed relief and ease for James. Before having the stair lift, getting him up the stairs from the garage after appointments was exhausting and stressful for him. Now, the stair lift has minimized that stress, making it much easier for him to travel to and from appointments. It has significantly improved his quality of life.

I decided to go with Bruno Independent Living Aids after it was recommended by a medical authority. Although the construction of the stair lift itself seems fine, there was a bit of an issue with the installation. The rails were misaligned, which I believe is causing some wear and tear on the chair's rollers as I can already see some stripes. Despite being a known issue, they haven't done anything to remedy this. I've contacted them multiple times, and they insist that the installation followed their specifications, so they're unwilling to resolve the problem or provide a refund. If they could realign the rails, I think my experience would improve, although now I find the rollers may need replacing too. Lastly, I was in touch with Bruno via email and provided them feedback along with photos of the issues.

I have a Bruno lift on the back of my truck for a scooter, and my experience has been somewhat mixed. It's a superior product compared to the Harmar lift that I previously had, which wasn't worth much. However, I did encounter a significant issue. The arm that secures the scooter to the lift failed to hold the scooter in place. One time, while making a left turn, the scooter fell out onto the street. Luckily, my son was driving behind me and picked it up. I took the vehicle back to Upward Mobility, the installer, and they tightened the mechanism. But when it happened again, I suggested using a locknut instead of a regular nut to keep it secure. If this problem persists, I will definitely mention it again.
The sales experience itself was quite straightforward. I visited the only Bruno location in Lubbock, Texas, and despite a mix-up with the Veterans Administration fitting a Harmar lift initially, Bruno had a lift ready for me. They easily swapped out the Harmar for a Bruno when I expressed dissatisfaction. My previous experience with the Veterans Administration's installation team was poor; they weren't friendly and didn't show me how to use the lift properly. This contrasts with the positive interactions and reliable solutions provided by Bruno's representatives.

The installation process was terrible. Initially, they cut the rail too long, preventing the door from opening. They had to trim it down, but the stairlift remains noisy, clacking all the time as it moves. While the representative who setup the system was knowledgeable and acceptable, the price of the Bruno stairlift was terrible.
Overall, my experience with Bruno and the lift company they employed has been unsatisfactory. I would rate my likelihood to recommend them as a one out of ten because of the poor service and the product's performance. The installation process was impressively quick, taking about 2.5 hours.
Regarding fit, the stairlift integrates well into our stairwell. Although one section of our stairs is slightly narrow, the stairlift's design allows me to sit comfortably, and the wider upper section makes it easy to use. We even utilize it to send up laundry. In terms of performance, it's very effective and operates quietly with just a slight noise that's hardly noticeable.
I am very satisfied with the Bruno Stairlift, and I haven't encountered any issues, which is why I'd rate it 5 out of 5 stars. We initially installed a stairlift to allow my father, who was experiencing mobility issues, to access a walkout section of our home designed with handicap facilities. Following his passing, we continued using the stairlift for various tasks, including transporting groceries from our pantry.
Since my mobility has decreased, the stairlift is essential for me to reach my office located in the walkout part of the house. Our home has two stairwells, and we strategically positioned the stairlift to maximize convenience without disrupting household flow. The new Bruno model is quieter, and although the seat is slightly different, I am adapting to it.

I purchased a Bruno stairlift to help me navigate the stairs to my basement. Although it was a significant expense, at around $5,000, it has been necessary for my mobility needs. The stairlift is straight, and the installation needed some modifications to the unit due to it being initially backwards. Fortunately, the installers handled it efficiently within about 2-3 hours. They demonstrated its operation, and both my wife and I tried it out. However, they didn’t install the wireless controllers at the top and bottom of the stairs, which I didn’t realize until later.
When it came to choosing a provider, I opted for Paramount. The sales representative's presentation was informative and well-explained, which I appreciated. I found their price to be competitive as they matched a lower offer, saving me $65. In comparison, other representatives I dealt with were either overpriced or unprofessional, such as one who smelled strongly of smoke and seemed more interested in small talk than explaining the product.
I chose Bruno primarily for its visual appeal and the fact that it supports a higher weight capacity of up to 400 pounds, unlike Acorn and others, which lacked this feature and didn't offer charging flexibility. Bruno stairlifts can charge anywhere on the rail, which was an important factor for me.
Overall, I’m satisfied with my decision to go with Bruno and would recommend it highly. I didn't have that many stairs, and then right at the bottom, there are three steps that make the turn to the left. It was difficult to be able to get somebody to figure out how they could do it. But thank God it worked out with Bruno.
The track goes down straight and then it takes that curve. The track itself has a curve right with the three steps in and it worked out all right. I have very narrow steps compared to other steps and it just gives me enough room to get up and down and have packages. I'm gonna make a box that I can put packages in. I can send it up and down. This way, it would be convenient that way as well. It wasn't working properly in the beginning, but they came back and they straightened it out. They took care of that and gave us a discount for being in close proximity to them as a local customer.
The stairlift has been great. It's comfortable, and I feel very safe. The reason we had it put in as fast as we did was because I fell down the steps. Paramount came over and gave us the information and that same day, they told us they would come back in two days. They came back in two days and installed one into the basement and one into the upstairs. So, everything was great. As a matter of fact, it's been a blessing. The remote use of it is great. The one that goes from my kitchen, down in my front door, they said it has been here for 13 years. Last time I called when something was wrong with it, they contacted the VA. The VA said that it should be replaced. They also said that the other that one goes from the kitchen here up to my bedroom should be replaced too because it was 12 years old.
They said that after so long, the parts were out. Also, they couldn't get certain parts renewed. I like the new one that I have that goes from my kitchen up to my bedroom. The one that goes from my kitchen down to my front door, Bruno hasn't replaced that. But they came back several times to repair the stairlifts when I needed them repaired for something. I got windows at the top and bottom of the stairs, and they made sure the railings pass and the chair doesn't hit. They could have just slopped it in and been done, but they didn't. They took their time. It was nice. They are five miles from me. If there was breakage or if I needed a repair or something was stuck, they would come quickly.
The lift is aesthetically pleasing. It doesn't take as much room as I thought it would take. It's functional. It tucks away neatly if we are not using it. I can use the stairs and walk next to somebody riding. There's still enough room that I do not trip over. My husband has a walker, so for him to be able to move around a two-story home, it's great. It will make it easier to stay until we can't. At some point, we would go beyond not being able to climb stairs. But for now, it's for my husband to come out of the hospital and be able to be at home. It's a safety issue more than anything, and it is safe.
We also looked at elevators, tube elevators, lift elevators, and there is a bug difference in terms of affordability. Also, it doesn't impact the integrity of my house. I could just put it on the stairs, and if we ever wanted to take it out, we would just fill in some holes and be done. Whereas if we put in an elevator and we would have to break through ceilings and put in electrical boxes, it would be a different story. There's a big architectural component to that, and cost.

They said, "If anything at all goes wrong, just give us a call and we'll be there." It was a real good experience. Going up the stairs for my wife is so much easier with this lift.

We have the lift going from the first floor to the second floor. We got it from Bruno Independent Living Aids and we went on the basis of talking to people that had worked with this company beforehand. Also, the fact that the company had a storeroom where we could go and try the lift beforehand was very helpful. We looked at the Elan and Elite models, and we went with the Elan.
It has made a world of difference for my husband, because he really struggled for the last two months to get up and down the stairs. So now, he can use the chair lift and go up more than once a day. Also, the first floor doesn't have a full bathroom and now that he can get up and access the bedroom and the bathroom, that will increase the likelihood that we would stay in this home. We've only had the lift about three weeks and it looks good. The person who installed it told me how to clean the rails and we've been doing it okay. He was very positive and pleasant. The price was reasonable, too.

We purchased 2 Bruno stairlifts back in September of 2024. Overall, it's a very effective system. We have a safety concern that we believe needs to be addressed, we had the distributor that sold and installed the product out, and they agreed there was an issue, but at that point, they said they were not able to correct the problem. We've called the company and left numerous messages, yet no callback. Based on the lack of response we also have written the Better Business Bureau hoping that they will be able to get some type of response back from Bruno, but no response via this method either. You would think a company would take safety concerns very seriously, but Bruno does not!
What I find interesting is that either the company is too busy with other complaints or concerns, they don't return calls, or they just don't care. Either one of those models is very concerning, and at this point, I would not recommend a Bruno system to anyone because what you need is service. If this is what they consider to be service, particularly in an issue that I believe is a safety concern, I would hope they would call you back immediately. A company is only as good as its follow-up; at this point, Bruno gets an F.

I went to an independent contractor to install two different stairlifts. He gave us a bit of a discount on the second one. The Bruno stairlift has made a huge difference. I'm 60 years old and going up and down the stairs with an artificial leg is nearly impossible for me. The stairlift allows me to use my basement and my upstairs, which I would have a hard time doing otherwise.
The lift is really good. Bruno has the reputation of being better and stronger, and it has the heavy-duty weight stairlift which we got. We have this automatic rail at the bottom that lifts up so it doesn't stay down and other people in the home don't trip over it 'cause it extends out past the stairs on the bottom. The only problem with it is where it joins the rail, sometimes the lift doesn't go over that very well. It's a real bad jolt and sometimes the lift gets stuck on it. A lot of times what I'll have to do is put my feet down on the stair, push up with my back and lean back to bend. If I push back on it or try to lift some weight off it, it'll line back up. You got a bracket every third stair on the main rail. Then on that flexible rail, there's no bracket because you can't have a bracket to extend. It's just got this thing at the bottom of these adjustment screws and those adjustment screws aren't strong enough to keep it from flexing at the joint area.
When you're sitting in the stairlift and you're down on the section, it flexes too much. You can see it. I'm a big person and I can feel it flex a little bit when I sit on it. When it's down on that section, you can feel the extended section lean forward even more. It doesn't have enough support on its own because it's a separate section. Towards the bottom extending off from the rail, if they had a bracket down on it that it settled into, it might hold it there better.
The people that installed it have been on here three times to adjust it and they've done it for free. But even when they sit on it and they're lighter, they have the same problem with it sometimes. It's working fairly well now since the last adjustment but it's still rough. Bruno needs to improve that rail technology. Where our stairs end, it's a narrow walkway. There's no room for people to walk around it that's why I want the folding lift. I'm glad that they made it but it doesn't work as well as I would like. But other than that, I'm happy with it.

They had the company come out and show us the Harmar. I insisted with assistance from others that we get the Bruno because it was ranked number one. The mobility of it, the way it looked on the stairs was much more attractive than the other one. I just like Bruno overall, mainly for the appearance and the rating. The installation didn’t take very long. But there are some screws on it and the screws stick up. And there are grooves left on the screws. The installers said that it’s fine like it is but those screws are too long. Clothing or the hand can get caught on the screw. I've called the company and left messages, but I haven't gotten a return call back.
The footrest should be a little bit sturdier because I've caught my son, when he’s upstairs, getting off the stairlift sideways. And he's stepping on that stand, which is not stable enough to be holding his weight. I told him even this morning that he could not be standing up sideways in the chair and getting off of it like that. And when he's standing up on the side of the stairs, he's standing up on that footrest. And there's no room because I don't have a wide staircase. I'm repeating it all the time to him but he's still doing it when I'm not looking. And when I look, I see that he's doing that.

I feel safer in going up and down the steps because those are half steps and when I step down, my heel would always hit the back of the next step and I had to hang on. I didn't have very much strength in my arms that if I did fall, I probably couldn't hold myself up. I like that I can go up and down using the stairlift and the way it comes up the steps. The installers showed me how I could turn the seat around and where I could feel secure without getting right up on the steps. I can get right up at the level of the floor and turn it back around and sort of pull the handles, the seat and the bottom part up to keep it safe for anybody who's walking up and down the steps.

It's a plastic tab on the metal piece and I don't know why it was on there, other than to make it more aesthetically pleasing.
I like the chair. I can come up and down the stairs. It used to be, when I went downstairs, I'd be downstairs for the day 'cause I did not like climbing up. So, if I missed anything that was supposed to go downstairs with me, before then, I wouldn't come back up and get it. I'd see if I can get somebody else to get it for me. Once you're done using it, you just flip the seat up and the two armrests and you have plenty of room. It's really wonderful.

The stairlift fits the best it can. With the size of the staircase that I have going to the second floor, they measured out what they could put in that space. The space was able to accommodate the curved lift that they put in there. So far, the stairlift has been good. I've had a good experience with the staff as well. The only thing was I'd spoken with the guy that it's a little close on the one side of the railings facing where my feet are when I'm in the chair. But he was saying that with where the wall ends, they have it as close as they could with the space that we had.

The Bruno stairlift has made me more confident leaving my husband at home to navigate the stairs. We have it inside the house and one of the reasons that we got was that, in the event that my husband absolutely has to rely on it, he can still stay at home. So far, we haven't had any issues with it malfunctioning or breaking. It holds his weight and it's got the safety features to let us know whether it's in the proper placement before he uses it. The folks that installed it did an incredible job when they came out and talked to us about the stairlift. They gave us some options and made their recommendations. And when we were ready to have it installed, it was a matter of days until they came out and put it in for us. I've told some of my friends that if they need a stairlift for their family members, I would highly recommend Bruno.

I told the rep about that and she said that she's heard that about other lifts -- that those covers don't work well either. It's a pattern. We ended up getting a grill cover on our own and it works much better. Other than that, my mother-in-law likes the stairlift very much. She says it's very slow, but I think it has to be, for safety reasons so, I'm not worried about it.

I use it especially for groceries so heavy, and laundry. It's very useful. It helps a lot. It's nice that I got it. It took long before they installed it, but it's worth it. I was so frustrated, but when I got it, they only fixed it for two hours. It was fast.
The stairlift is slow, but good. It was made that way. I have a small stair and not that wide. So, it's a small stairlift also. I can still go through without using it. And sometimes I go downstairs and pick up something and put it on the stairlift and do the remote control. It would go up and I go upstairs. I should have got it while my husband still walked with a cane because I used to push his butt one stair before the other. It took me two months before they built it because it has to be approved by the veterans. Not everybody can get it on time, although it was late. But I'm so lucky I got it.

I've had the stairlift for about three weeks and it's been fine. The only problem we had is because I have a split entry. On the first flight of stairs, it was fine. It was one rail. But on the second, it had to have one and then it splits. What had happened twice was it would go so far and stop and it wouldn't move. The repairman came yesterday and he fixed it and now it goes three-fourths of the way up, stops for a second, I click it, and it goes the rest of the way. There's another alternative that he's thinking and he'll come back and try that. But so far, so good. It's a real convenience, especially when I do grocery shopping --even laundry. It's a big help.

The old stairlift worked fine for 25 years and it’s still working but whoever put it in didn't install it right. My mother is 90 now so it got to where it was hard for her to get up out of the chair at the top. The guy that we got the other one from said it's not going up far enough so the chair is not getting high enough at the top. It's supposed to be a certain height at the top to make it easy to step out of and it wasn't. He said he would see if he could find a rail and extend it up but he couldn't find any and that kind of rail was not being made anymore. So, we had to replace it.
The replacement is straight and much sleeker than the other stairlift and it doesn't take up as much room in the stairs. My mother can step out of it much easier and she’s higher so she doesn’t have to pull herself up so low. She's not sitting so low. So, it worked out great. With the old one, you had to have it either at the top or the bottom for it to charge, and with this new one, you don't have to. It could be anywhere on it. When she was in rehab at one time, for some reason, it got pushed off of the charger just a little bit and when she finally came home, we started using it and it wouldn't work. So we had to get a new battery for everything. This one will stay charged and that's one good thing. The Bruno stairlift works and it does what we want it to do.
The stairlift that was put in in ’99 was about the same money as this one so I was very pleased. I was expecting a lot more when I asked what a new one would cost. So, that helped me decide to do it. The guy that we got it from Mobility Plus in Salem came, installed the stairlift and did everything. I couldn't have asked for any better service. He was very good and did what he said.

We're happy with the rails of Bruno as far as the making of them and sturdiness and the chair 'cause we had to get the biggest chair because of my husband. We got the Cadillac of it all. It's made going up and down the stairs easier. The quality is fine. Very nice piece of steel in my staircase. However, it doesn't do all the things that we thought it was going to do.
The rails, whatever you call the thingy that it rides on, we thought upstairs it would start a little bit higher than at the bottom. But it ended too soon. We would get off across the wall. It is a little bit challenging sometimes. We thought it was going to go further. Using it is fine as far as the machines and the chairs and little mechanisms. But, using it is not fine, but part of that problem is the house. We wanted it to go down and stop in the foyer. I couldn't get out of it because it was too high. They're trying to figure out something and do something. But I don't know how they can because if you're going up or down, you got stairs in the way. It was at least a good foot between the chair and the floor. And we were going to jump. The guy from the office was here looking and he said, "No, don't dare do that. You could break an ankle." I said, "I don't want to do that."
Others should make sure that they understand where you're coming from and how far you want it to go and not go. You can't put a stair thing in that's 40-inch wide in a 36-inch stair. I stretched the measurement so it would make it easy for them to get in right away. The chair is not that far. I'm sure my husband is strong. He has long legs. For him, it works better in some areas because he can use his long legs. But when you're going down the downstairs staircase, the railing is in the way. Right away, the guy said, "We're gonna have to move that handrail down there."
I assume it's been in here since the house was built and they were built back in the late '60s. I said, "I am not starting to move handrails in a house this old..." Then the next thing was they were repairing the walls and that was a no. They did the best they could. But in order to go down the downstairs stairs, we have to spread our legs like when you're too close to something and you put one knee one way and one knee the other way. Even me as short as I am. The boss man came and said, "Unless you move that handrail, you're going to have to do that."

He can't walk. To get up and down the steps, he uses two crutches, and I'm always afraid he's going to fall and break his neck. The stairlift has helped a great deal. He could get up and down the steps, which is very good for him because otherwise, he couldn’t.

The rep came out and gave us a quote, and told us about the different options of products. We chose the Bruno and we got the chairlift that curves. My mother uses it every day. She loves it. It's a godsend.

Our Bruno stairlift is good. We like it. It's given us a lot more mobility. Even though it's a little slower, we can still get things done up and down the steps.

We went through Miller's Sales and when the salesman came out, we talked about that our daughter doesn't have any core support so she would need a five-point harness or some kind of harness for her to be able to sit in the chair and go up the steps. They didn't order the proper brackets that they should have and they had to come back out and put that harness on. Also, we're still waiting on a lap belt because the one that's built into the arms of the seat is more for an adult and our daughter is nine. It's been very frustrating working with Miller's but the chair itself is fine. It's been very helpful to us since we've been able to use it.
